What’s special about guardians of the galaxy as well is I think it manages to walk the fine line of having death be present and something that could very much happen to our main characters but also choosing to keep them all alive at the end of the trilogy. Not only is it nice to see finished arcs but I’ve never once felt as if the stakes were not high in these films and could not result in a main character death. James Gunn does a good job at showing he isn’t afraid to go there with what happened with Yondu at the end of gotg 2 (and providing a very meaningful death to him beneficial to his arc) and to an extension even shows this with rockets friends (lyla teeths floor) in the third film. I 100% felt as if multiple guardians would die I’m this film and whilst it did come close everyone made it out okay! This is a change from what we see in previous media where the line has pushed to one side too much where it can get annoyingly repetitive and boring because there is no tension or, death can happen too frequently that it’s a joke.

two immortal dudes who are practically glued to each other throughout the entire series, but this time it's Loki (aka 'THE FIRST BISEXUAL CHARACTER IN THE MCU', as Marvel loudly proclaimed even before the first season came out) who ended up getting [absolutely absurd] romantic plot line with the only important female character, and here is Mobius - a guy who basically has nothing else to do in the series, except to be Loki's "friend".

I don't even know if it's queerbaiting or not [actually it's definitely queerbaiting, I'm just in denial]. The Good Omens cured my aching soul so well, and I'm not even kidding - it was an absolutely therapeutic experience (she said holding in her hands her heart ripped out of her chest and torn to pieces [by Neil Gaiman]). and actually, as I said before, Good Omens changed my brain chemistry so that I will never be the same again. and in particular, I will never be able to perceive media of this type as before.
I will continue watching Loki because I like this series, but I don't promise not to get angry.

last two shifting attempts I’ve seen something from my DR which is INSANE actually
and I was thinking why like what am I doing different
and I realized it’s because I’ve stopped viewing me in my DR as a separate person
cause I tended to project what I WANTED myself to be like and I almost created a character of myself
but now I’m actually thinking about ME literally going to these places and it makes it so much more personal and motivating
but yeah!!

I made my own Blorbo Bingo. Feel free to reblog and use. Send an ask of a character and receive an opinion about them.
Top row (left to right): I need their hand in marriage NOW, Why do people hate them? :(, Everyone is wrong about them except for me, Dumbass (affectionate), Dumbass (derogatory)
Second row (left to right): Why do people love them? :/, Just like me fr, I want to throw them in a blender, They are my type, I want to date them but platonically
Middle row (left to right): I want to carry them in my pocket, Fuck Marry and Kill in that order, [Free Space], Canon be damned they're fine :), The fanon version of them is better
Fourth row (left to right): Not enough of them!!, I want to donate their brain to science, Overrated, Absolutely no opinion about them whatsoever, Underrated
Last row (left to right): I want to commit acts of violence on them, I'd thank them if they punched me, They would hate me but idc <3, Can they be killed off already? I like to pretend they don't exist :)

we really took avengers (2012) for granted. thor had plastic armor. stony and clintasha were national icons. loki was full on in his tswift reputation era and it was so real of him. bruce was an absolute treasure and the only acceptable canon appearance of him in the entire mcu's run. tony built a tower for his friends and they never talked about it again

hear me out: tony who writes poetry.
He dosnt mean to. not at all. he fucking hates poetry. but his journals say otherwise. He just writes, and he’s careful with his words when it’s about his own feelings.
“No project gets scrapped. The fact that I am there to create them proves even the most worthless of scrap could prove useful.”
“If machines do not go to heaven, I hope I join wherever they are. What heaven is there where the friends i made, the friends i created, arent allowed entrance? I hope when my batteries expire, my bones rust over”
“sometimes when my son cries, I wish i still believed that a person can emerge from childhood without scars. The sayings that rationalize my own suffering construct a world where my boy cannot escape my fate.”

For an American with an internet connection, I manage to grow up with some pretty big gaps in my pop cultural awareness, and one of those was DC superheroes (Marvel too, until the MCU became a thing when I was in high school)
Like, I was aware that Superman and Batman are characters, and even that they live in the cities of Metropolis and Gotham. I just always assumed that those were fictional analogues for New York City and Chicago, respectively. (As the two Big US Cities, and I guess as a kid I thought Chicago was really dark and gloomy? which visiting it as an adult hasn't really been my experience but w/e).
But last month i got into batfam fanfic and learned that no, NYC and Chicago totally exist in the DC universe, and Metropolis and Gotham (plus a bunch of others with boring names) are entirely fictional with no real world geographic counterpart. Also I was entirely wrong about their approximate locations.
Gotham is in New Jersey, which, sure, explains why it's so cursed.
But Metropolis? IT'S IN FUCKING DELAWARE
Tumblr media
most famous on here for tumblr collectively refusing to believe it's a real state?!?!
IRL it's mostly relevant as a corporate tax shelter!
I just can't wrap my head around the concept of Delaware having any important cities. IRL its biggest town is Wilmington, population just under 70k. Which, like, not tiny, but still smaller than every city i've ever lived in. (It's basically a surburb of Philly that just happens to be across the state border.)
Placing Metropolis in Delaware automatically downgrades it in my mind from "important enough city to be the stage for alien invasions" to "what the fuck is Lex Luthor doing there, why doesn't he take the tax break and put his HQ in a real city like a normal billionaire"
