Arrogant Australian boy – chapter 1
It was a small little coffee shop. It wasn’t the fanciest, but it just seemed to attract enough fancy people for it to be added to some posh lists on BuzzFeed best coffee places in dahlia. It still seemed to attract enough assholes, enough influencers to bug the ever-loving crap out of you. But it was a routine.
You stand at the counter in the café just finishing up paying when you see a face. Unfamiliar as most people at the café now days. The fall air follows his arrogant strut threw the glass door with the sound of chimes alerting the rest of the place of the door being opened to a new customer.
His hair flew in the breeze slightly- and God why did you even notice something like that about this obvious douche.
You grabbed your coffee from the counter dropping a tip in the cup by the till and give the worker a soft smile. You make your way to the door. Only taking one last passing glance at the stuck-up man now approaching the counter to order for himself. And only as you take your final steps out the door you hear the tones of his accent as he ordered the most basic order you had ever heard. You give a scoff.
It takes you a unreasonable amount of time to refocus on your walk to work. He shouldn’t occupy your thoughts like that. He’s another stuck-up rich momma’s boy walking around dahlia who’s gotten everything handed to hi, except his ass.
You chuckle at the thought before walking yourself into your work. Just a small clothing store in dahlia. It was started up by a few friends of yours and when it got large enough, they really needed a manager for the installment closest to your house. It didn’t take much thought on that decision before you were working at a trendy boutique on a main street in dahlia.
You flip the closed sign over with your free hand taking a sip of your drink and making your way to the front counter to open the till. The front door chimes much like the café and to your surprise it’s the same arrogant boy walking around the store looking at the shirts hung on the front racks.
“What are you looking for, pretty boy?” you call softly resting forward on the counter.
“What did you just call me?” he looks up from the soft blue button up on the hanger with a look of disgust.
You laugh and the sound of his accent dances around the quiet morning in the store. His look of pure distaste almost makes you feel better.
“You don’t agree?” you ask tilting your head like an innocent puppy knowing full well its condescending as shit.
The arrogant little fuck scoffs and goes back to browsing. And with that you take your queue to continue your job well sending glances at the aussie who would look away all pissy when you caught him giving you this little disgusted look.
“You need to update the clothes here; they look like the back of my closet” he scuffed and gestured dramatically towards the store.
“what’s your name?” you ask giving him a pointed look.
“Christian, why would you like to know?” the prick you now know as Christian shoots.
“Just thought I should be able to at least know the name of the Australian bitch walking around my friends store” you say continuing to work well talking. “so, you know, when I speak to you I know what name im using to tell you to get the fuck out”
Christian looks as if he just kicked in the crotch and it almost makes you smile.
“I don’t want to hear a excuse, Christian” you say your charade almost breaking watching his wounded expression.
“Fine, I have to get to my meeting anyway” he huffs making for the exit.
“With that attitude I’m not thinking you run those meetings” you shoot.
All you hear is a pissed off grunt and you burst out laughing. That little prick deserved what he got and it makes you so happy to be the one to take him down a peg.
And yet the pissy little Australian boy lingers in your mind threw out your day. And not the argument. That would be the reasonable thing to think about. But you couldn’t stop your thoughts from trailing off to the way his hair brushed just over his eyes. Or how his accent, despite how grating it sounded, echoed threw the store like a quiet song.
But you got threw the day closing the store at 6 and cleaning up the last few things.
As you grab your bag you see Christian walking past the store once more. You grunt unimpressed. Watching him grow red threw the window as his friend clearly says something that gets on his nerves.
It almost bothers you that its not you making his face contort like that, but you shrug it aside. You had to get home, you had friends you promised to call.
So, you shove your stuff in your bag and march off. For the first time today. Almost completely forgetting about the undeniable attractive yet grating and arrogant boy you never meant to talk to today.

How to Get the Best Deal on a Car Mobile Scratch
Tumblr media
Buying a car can be a costly venture. Why? Because cars cost money to make, repair, and keep running. You can’t just walk into any dealership and expect to get a fair price on your new ride. The value you receive when buying any car will depend on many factors, the most important of which is how much time, effort, and research you put into finding that perfect match. To get the best deal on your next vehicle, follow these tips: -Know what type of car you want. Is it a family car, an athletic performance vehicle, or a high-end luxury model? Do you need something with four doors or something smaller? These are just a few of the questions you should ask yourself before making your purchase Mobile Scratch Repair.
What type of car do you want?
Before you go shopping, it’s important to figure out exactly what kind of vehicle you want. While it may be tempting to simply go for the cheapest car you can find, that’s not the best way to go about things. You want to get yourself a car that will serve you well for years to come. That decision comes in large part with knowing exactly what you need the car for. If you’re looking to get a family vehicle, you might want to go for something much larger than you’d need if you were only getting yourself in the car. By knowing your needs, you’ll be able to get the best deal on the car you want.
Know the trade-in value of your current vehicle
You’ve already done the work of finding out how much your current vehicle is worth. Now, find out what a new one should cost you. This is important because you’re not going to get the best deal on a new car if it’s more expensive than your current one. When you know what your current trade-in is worth, you can find out what a new car should cost you. This can be done by calling your local auto dealer, reading online reviews, or talking to your friends and family members in the automotive industry.
Research online to find out the most reliable brands and models
You’ve now done all the legwork of finding out what your current car is worth. Now, take all that information and use it to find out which brands, models, and makes are most reliable and cost-effective. There are many websites you can use for this purpose, but one of the most reliable is Consumer Reports. This is because they conduct real-life tests on every vehicle they review, putting the results in context of how other cars in the same class are performing. This way, you don’t just get an idea of the reliability of a certain car, but you also get an idea of how it stacks up against the rest of the field.
Talk to a local dealer before you go to an auction
Buying a car at auction can sound like a great deal, but in reality, it’s not. Most cars that come to an auction are already in bad condition and will likely be worth less than what you’d pay at a dealership. There’s also the issue of finding someone to haul the car home. It could be very difficult, and you could easily have to make several trips just to get the car home. All of those things may be worth it if you’re getting a car at an auction, but they’re not worth the price you’d pay. The solution? Meet up with a local dealer. You can get a better idea of what the car is worth, the process of buying a car, and what the dealer’s process is for selling cars. This will give you a better idea of what to expect and what you’ll have to deal with.
Don’t be afraid to haggle with the seller
When you’re at the auction, remember that the seller is very likely not making a profit on the car. They may be selling it because they need the money or are in a crisis situation. It’s okay to try to haggle with the seller about the price. The key is to do so without being unreasonable. If you’re not willing to pay a certain amount for the car, don’t go in thinking you have to pay it. You can always pick another option when you get there. If the seller is being unreasonable or trying to low-ball you, tell them you want to see another car.
 Bottom line
Buying a new car is expensive. Car dealers and auctions aren’t always fair to you. That’s why it’s so important to do your research and find a way to get the best deal on your new ride. Follow these tips and you’ll be well on your way to getting the best car deal possible.

It’s raining when you step out of the office; it’s honestly concerning how hard it is pouring down, especially because it’s starting to get chilly at night - and it seems like the world came to a halt. It would be a simple, no matter Tuesday if only your damn Metro card would work, you had an umbrella and your shoes weren’t soaked to the bone. It feels like a plot against you. It’s when you are on the verge to splurge on a taxi fare ride, that you hear a voice, getting nearer and nearer and shouting your name.
You see Getou Suguru stopping his run, hands on his knees, framing kneeled and panting. He clearly run over to you, and before you can ask yourself why, he straightens and his gaze rounds you from bottom to top. His gaze is intense, and his eyes are mesmerizing: you feel your whole body shiver under his stare. His hair is messy, and dark locks of it hang around his man-bun, in the way he styles it when he works. Clearly, he just got out of the office.
“Oh thank God, I thought you didn’t hear me,” he blurts, blushing a bit, and scratching his neck. You smile at him, because he is just adorable. “I did hear you, Getou-San,” you bow a bit, pushing a strand of hair behind your ear. Getou is absolutely stunning, and every fit that he owns just clings to him smooth skin and his toned body - and you can’t help but just lose your reason, for a split second, when he looks at you like that, as if nothing else matters. He smiles softly at you and then points at the street, on which there are still a few taxis running around. “Were you going to burn half of your monthly income on one of those?” he candidly asks, and while that should not come as surprise, you still feel yourself blushing, conscious of how you must look to his eyes: wet, disheveled and desperate. You shrug. “Better that than staying out here.” He is amused, and both of you are getting soaked - entirely because you both forgot to check the (wrong) forecast.
“Can’t deny that. But instead of spending money you could save towards those cute little earrings you always ogle on a taxi ride, given that you do manage to catch one, why don’t you repair yourself at my apart? It’s behind the corner of the block, and you could just wait the rain out,” he drops like nothing. Your mind gets racing about the implication of such an offer, but then you remember how this is Getou , an outstanding citizen and a man who eats respect and responsibility for breakfast. Maybe his offer it’s not so bad, just a little unusual. “Could I really do that?” you ask gingerly, and see Getou just smiling. “But of course. Don’t tell anyone, but you’re my favourite in the office, so it would a pleasure of mine offering a safe and warm place in this weather,” Getou says while looking around, through the thick courtain has formed around you. Warm sounds nice at the moment, especially because he is getting soaked because of you, and that can’t absolutely do. So you nod and Getou takes your wrist to drag you along, as fast as your legs allow it.
When you cross the entrance, and a your fingers go numb from the difference in the temperature between inside and outside, you sigh of relief. Getou’s apartment is clean, neat and warm exactly as he promised. It’s a bit impersonal, but you pay no mind. As soon as you get home, Getou throws every wet cloth on the tile floor, exposing his wet skin and his defined back. He goes inside a room and comes out holding a towel in one hand, and the other over his shoulders. “I figured you might need one,” he says while holding out the fluffy towel. “The bathroom is the second door over there,” he indicates a wooden door at the end of the corridor. You follow the simple instructions, when you notice that if you take off your damp clothes, you’ll be left in your panties and bra, which while comfortable, is not entirely decent to do to a colleague’s house. “Getou-san! I am so sorry to ask this, but could I use the drier to hang my clothes?” you ask sheepish. But nothing comes as an answer. Then you hear a knock on the door, and Getou saying that he is leaving some clothes for you outside. You notice right away how big they look on you. They smell the same way Getou does, money and vanilla detergent.
When you finally step out the bathroom, Getou is sitting on the sofa, with the remote in hand and house wear which should be illegal in several different countries. You swallow a lump in your throat and approach Getou on the couch, when he lands his eyes on you. You feel the air changing and his pupils dilate. His gaze is fixed on your figure swallowed up by his large clothes, and he seems outwardly shaken. He shakes his head and pats the space near himself. “I hope you’re a bit warmer than you were when I found you,” he says, eyes on the screen in front of the couch, carefully avoiding yours. “Oh yeah, thank you so much Getou-San,” you answer right away. You are a bit nervous, and Getou’s hands on his knees are distracting. “You could call me Suguru, you know? After all, we are not in the office anymore,” he glances at you, hesitant but also hopeful. It feels a bit weird, but you nod and say “Thank you Suguru-san, then.” He smiles at you, and you feel a tad more comfortable, enough to set yourself on the sofa and close your eyes.
You must have dozed off, and taken Suguru’s space in the meantime, as you find yourself pressed against his chest, laying on him, while his head is bent to the side, intent to watch the motioned images of a TV program. He looks at you and your eyes go wide, you blush and start squirming around in order to put yourself in a seated position, with little success. Suguru’s hand is still on your waist, and he does not seem intent on letting you go.
“Suguru-san? I am so sorry for falling asleep on you,” you fumble, but Suguru is staring at you vacantly - and it’s then that you notice something hard pressing on your thigh. Something that definitely isn’t the remote, still in Suguru’s hand, nor both of your phones laying on the table. “You don’t really realise, do you?” He asks. You shake your head. You hear him sigh deeply. “Of the damn effect you have on me.” He moans out. “Your hair sweeping those shoulders, the way you puck your lips, those swaying hips, your nipples peaking out of your shirt,” he blurts out calmly, like a man inside a brewing storm, “they just drive me crazy.” You have no idea of what you are doing. You are in a man’s apartment, a man who is objectively attractive and who you masturbated thinking of, wearing his clothes and currently on top of him. “Suguru-san…” you try. But he shakes his head. “I’m sorry to say, but I won’t be able to control myself if you stay here any longer. It stopped raining a while ago.” He looks pained while saying those words. So you take courage and try to be forward. “Do, mh, do you..want to do something about it?” You ask with the timid tone you can manage. Your head is spinning, and the hard dick pressing on you isn’t helping. You can already feel your panties getting wetter by the second, and your nipples are way past being hard. You wonder how is Suguru not noticing the response of your body. But then his gaze turns fiery, and then cold. “My darling, I won’t be holding out much longer. If you don’t get out of here in the span of few minutes, I..” He takes a deep breath. “I, have little control over myself when it comes to you. I want you - and I want you now even more. So yes, I do want to do something about my hard cock down there, but I am not going to force you, and I don’t want you to feel obliged to do anything just because I become unreasonable when you touch me.” But you are not even listening anymore, so you just take off your shirt, revealing your naked breasts, and feel Suguru’s breath hitch. “I want you too, Suguru-san,” you hear yourself says and the next thing you know is Suguru licking your pink bud, feeling heat pooling in your lower abdomen. He sucks on your left nipple, with you still straddling him. His hands are everywhere, and there is no space between you anymore. A hand ends up twisting you nipple so hard you whimper, so Suguru soothes the pain with his tongue. He pinches and then sucks on your stiff nipples so many times you lose count. You can feel hands and tongue, lapping everything they can. You don’t even notice how his hand ends up in your wet panties, and without teasing just penetrate your cunt. It makes you gasp, and Suguru takes up a rhythm of his fingers going in and then going out, faster until he sucks on your nipple so hard that you cum. But he does not care, and puts a second finger in. Even that, however, is not enough. Your pussy is pulsating, cum flowing out but the presence of Suguru’s hands inside of you do not let your relax enough. You feel the heat already forming, and you can’t help but moan.
“You are so pretty,” Suguru lets out and breathes right into your ear, making your pussy clench around his fingers. Suguru breath is ragged, and you feel him taking a breath in.
“My darling,” he sighs putting his head on your shoulder and pressing a feather light kiss on your exposed skin “I am about to cum right here if you do that again,” he says seriously. “Please cum, Suguru-san,” you tell him and inadvertently your hand squeezes lightly his clothed cock, swollen. You put your hand inside of his joggers, just to feel pre cum pooling on his tip, no boxers hiding his bulge. Water pools in your mouth, but you a want, a need to feel him inside you overwhelms you.
“Please fuck me, Suguru-san,” you tell him. And you don’t have to repeat it twice.
You feel Suguru taking off his pants, his member springing free, the prettiest shade of red in his full glory. He takes off your pants all the way, and does not care about aligning himself, that he slams into you. His grip on your hips is harsh, bruising, but when he starts pounding into you, his mouth colliding with yours for the first time you lose the sense of time. You just feel his cock slamming into you, one, two, three times, so deep that his balls touch your sensible points every time Suguru goes in. The couch is large enough, but you still feel Suguru on you, fucking into your cunt violently, lips not leaving yours. Your hips start moving as well, welcoming Suguru’s cock as deep as you can, length swallowed up in the red hole of your pussy so good. “You take me so well my dear,” he whispers at you, before moving his mouth to suck on your left nipple. He fastens his pace, and reaches the point inside you at which you can’t do anything else but scream. You usually never scream, and moan rarely but Suguru’s cock inside you and his mouth of your breast is enough to drive you to the edge. Then it’s a question of moments that you feel yourself fall and explode on Suguru’s dick, right before he pulls out to cum on your stomach, with shots ending up to your breasts and chin. You milk him until the end, and feel him shiver a few times, before he gathers the spilt cum and takes it to your lips, which you lap up.
“Suguru-san, I..”you try to complete a sentence with meaning, but nothing comes out of you. Your pussy feels drilled in, and you are pretty sure your hips are bruised, exactly like your nipples, which have never felt so cared for. You want to do it again. Now.
“Please fuck me again,” you then hear yourself say. Suguru smiles and then lowers himself just a bit. “If you let me eat you out first,” he says, licking the cum and penetrating your hole with his tongue. “You can do whatever you want with me, Suguru-san.”
He heads up, and blows on your hot and wet cunt.
“With great pleasure.”

Warnings: manipulation, mentions of death
A hiking trip up to a nearby mountain trail had been on a list of things to do for you and your friend group for a while. Your friend Denali had suggested it, and she assured you all that it wouldn't be anything too difficult; it was just a beginner's trail that would consist of a few hours of walking up the trail and back. And then maybe you all could grab some food after.
You were pretty excited for it, as the idea sounded refreshing to you. Another thing that added to the anticipation of the hike was the fact that it had also been a little while since everyone in the friend group had been able to hang out together.
Or more accurately, it had been a while since you were able to make it to one of these friend meetups.
Some kind of bad luck had been plaguing you recently; the last few times an outing for the four of you had been planned, something unexpected came up for you and you needed to cancel last minute. Be it work obligations, family emergencies or just you getting sick the night before, it had been a while since you hung out with them like you once had.
Aiden, Denali and Colton all seemed to take it well, but you swore you could sense a growing annoyance in them. They seemed to be shorter with you in texts, and there had been a few times now that you'd sent a picture or said something in the group chat and it had been ignored. You worried that they were starting to think you were making up excuses instead of genuinely being unable to see them, but every time you tried to talk with them privately, they told you that there wasn't anything wrong and that you were just overreacting.
That hadn't made you feel any better. You just felt like a bad friend.
But today would be different.
You made a point to ensure that you had the day completely cleared for the hike, getting the day off from your work well in advance and doing your best to stay away from anything that might make you sick. The morning of your friends had all confirmed that it was still on, and after a little while they were going to rendezvous at your place to pick you up before you all headed out to the trail.
Things were going to be different today, and you were excited for it.
And things were different.
But maybe not in a way that you had expected.
You didn't notice the second car that had pulled up behind Denali's initially when they stopped outside your place. You only noticed that something was different when you approached Denali's car and noticed that one of the seats in the back had been taken up by a pile of backpacks, leaving no room for you.
When Aiden stepped out of the first car as you came out to greet him, he explained the situation. Without your knowledge, Aiden had invited someone from his work, a woman named Fawn. Evidently during those times when you couldn't make it, your friends had been hanging out with her a lot, and they had figured that she should be invited on this trip as well.
That they were hanging out with other people didn't upset you; they had every right to spend their time with people that were able to show up. But you felt slightly hurt that you hadn't been asked or even given a heads-up that this was happening. You had been anticipating spending time with your old friend group for this trip and instead you would be trying to reconnect while also navigating a new group dynamic.
But you decided not to say anything about it. You just nodded and smiled when Aiden told you that you'd be riding with Fawn in her car. Although it was unexpected, you told yourself that new people wasn't necessarily a bad thing. You could probably make good friends with her while also berating yourself for your first reaction to her being disappointment. That sort of attitude was no good.
Despite all of that, you quickly came to feel that you didn't like Fawn very much.
For one thing, the woman was one of the most reckless drivers you had ever come across. Virtually blowing through stop signs, running several lights and swerving around drivers that she felt weren't going fast enough, there were several times during the trip that you felt she was going to cause an accident. She also passed by Denali's car for some reason, and when you asked her why, she said she thought it would be fun to see who could get to the mountain first. You didn't agree, but there was literally nothing you could do but hold onto the inside of the passenger side door for dear life. The motion sickness you'd gotten was so bad that by the time you made it to the parking lot next to the hiking trail, you'd needed to lean against the side of her car and take in deep breaths in an attempt to not throw up your breakfast.
At least she seemed pretty apologetic when she saw you like that, and she offered you a bottle of water which you gladly took. But the second Denali's car pulled up she seemed to switch her focus to that completely, going up to the rest of the group to greet them. She had something of a one-track mind, it seemed. It didn't make her a bad person, but you still wanted a bit of distance for now.
After recovering and making sure you had everything you needed in your backpack, you approached Aiden while the others were getting ready.
“Hey,” you said, “you think you and I could switch places for the car ride back?”
“Oh c'mon, it couldn't have been that bad,” he said, “you'll hurt her feelings if you do that. She really wants to know you.”
Fawn walked up right after, and since you weren't willing to criticize her driving right in front of her, you dropped it.
Meanwhile the mountain loomed above all of you. Tall and imposing with a rather dense white fog that almost obscured the very top of it. There were parts that were heavily forested, and you briefly wondered if you would need to worry about anything like bears or some other kind of large wild animal.
“How far up are we going?” you asked Denali.
“Not too far. We'll be sticking to the marked trail; there's a cool little observation deck at the end of it,” she told you, “I figure we'll head towards that and then come back the same way.”
You nodded, but before you could give any real response Colton called her over for something, and she left to help him. Aiden and Fawn were chatting about something, so you stood silent and at the ready, looking up once more at the mountain.
Despite the distance, you swore you saw something moving. You wanted to say it was some large kind of four-legged creature, though it was impossible to tell what exactly it was.
“Are there bears on the mountain?” you asked aloud.
“Nah.”
That was all the response you got.
For about ten minutes after the hike started, Fawn had stayed at the back with you, asking you some basic questions about yourself that you would in turn ask her once you had answered. You hoped that the interaction wasn't as awkward as it had felt to you. Maybe it was but she also didn't want to say anything about it.
Then when your group came across an old, crumbling well, Fawn had run up towards Aiden to get some better pictures of the structure, and when the group began to move again, she chose to stay there next to him.
Denali had taken the lead with Colton right behind. They were talking, though what they were talking about you couldn't be sure as you only caught bits and pieces of the conversation. A few steps behind them were Aiden and Fawn, talking about something that was going on at their workplace. And a few steps behind those two was you, trailing behind the group and unable to join either conversation. Although Aiden had said that Fawn wanted to know you, she hadn't said much of substance to you before she turned her attention back to him. Although maybe that was your fault. Maybe it really was obvious that you didn't care for her much. You thought that you were doing a decent job at being polite, but maybe she could tell that you were still a bit annoyed about her driving earlier.
Or maybe she just wanted to talk to Aiden right now and you were overreacting again.
You weren't sure.
It just felt like you were being excluded.
Of course. The first time in forever that you were able to make it to a meet-up with them, and it felt like you weren't wanted.
You sighed to yourself as you walked behind silently, trying to tell yourself that it was unreasonable to be thinking like that and that you wouldn't have been invited if they didn't want you there. The hike had just started; you couldn't decide that the whole thing would be bad just because of a rough beginning.
At least for now you could enjoy the scenery, and you looked about the woods as you walked along the trail, noting the different types of trees and plants and just how many of them surrounded you as you walked by on the trail. You stopped now and then to take a few pictures with your phone. Although you could hear the distinct chirping of birds in the distance, you didn't manage to see any, and despite the movement you thought you had seen while in the parking lot, it didn't seem like there were any other animals in the area. Denali had said this was an easy trail; maybe people frequented it enough that most animals avoided any areas close to it. That was too bad, but not that big of a deal. At least you were still getting nice pictures of the forest.
Your group came across a wide set of wooden stairs with a wooden barrier on either side after a bit, beginning a steeper ascent towards the higher parts of the mountain. Nothing had really changed within the group, though you noted that the conversations had mostly died down in an effort to appreciate the nature around you. Colton was also frequently looking behind to make sure everyone was still there. The two of you managed to lock eyes at one point, and you smiled at him. He gave back something of a half-smile before looking back in front of him. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but you noted that he didn't look back after that.
The walk continued, and all of you were quiet now, looking about the scenery. Some of them occasionally made remarks whenever they spotted something unusual, like an oddly shaped tree trunk or rock. You stayed silent, though, remembering your messages that had gone ignored and worried that if you said anything, that would be ignored as well.
Were you being too anxious about this? Probably. You sighed to yourself again as you tried to keep those kinds of thoughts from running amok.
Just distract yourself by looking around, you told yourself.
You paused when you glanced over to your right.
It looked like there was some sort of stone pillar standing in the distance. The dark rock was covered in moss and vines, but the shape was such that it couldn't have been a natural formation. Someone human had put it there some time ago. It also looked as though there was similar wreckage behind the pillar, and you wondered if it may have once been some kind of building.
Taking out your phone and pulling up the camera, you zoomed in on the the ruined structure. You briefly glanced over to your friends as you did, making sure they weren't leaving you too far behind.
But when you looked back to the phone, you let out a small sound of surprise.
There was a man standing by the pillar.
Your eyes immediately went back to the pillar as you wondered where this guy had come from.
The shadows over in that area made things a bit darker, but you were able to see a general shape that looked like a person. You squinted slightly as you looked at him, trying to make out any details. But strangely, you couldn't. It was just the shape of a rather broad man, and as you continued to look, you found that it looked almost wispy, like a few pieces of cloud had floated down and arranged themselves to imitate what a person might look like.
…. Why did it feel like it was looking back at you?
“What are you doing?”
Aiden's voice called to you, and you snapped out of your stupor to find that the whole group was standing there waiting on you.
Your mouth fell open to try and offer some explanation, to tell them about what you were looking at, but when you glanced back to where the shape had been-
He wasn't there.
And when you looked back to the camera, you found he was gone from there as well.
Had you imagined it?
The entire thing had happened within mere seconds. The pillar wasn't large enough that he could be hiding behind it, and no one could move that fast without making some bit of noise. Looking between the view from your camera and the pillar a few more times, you decided that you had imagined it. Though you were certain you had seen something standing there, there was no way that could have actually been the case. Maybe a shadow just looked weird within the lighting at that moment?
Aiden called out to you again.
“Sorry!” you called out, putting the phone away as you hurried up the stairs to rejoin them.
“What you were looking at?” Fawn asked you.
“Something back there,” you explained, “ it looked like there were some ruins of a building.”
“Oh, did you get a picture? Can I see?”
“Ah, sorry, I didn't.”
Fawn pouted, asking “why not?”
“I thought I saw someone.”
They both looked at you strangely.
“You couldn't get a picture because you thought you saw someone?” Aiden asked.
“I don't know. It was just weird,” you said, getting a bit flustered as you continued “I thought I saw a guy for a second – or something that looked like a guy – but then he was gone.”
“... 'Something' that 'looked' like a guy,” Aiden repeated.
“Oh wow, I didn't know you could see ghosts!” Fawn exclaimed, giggling a little, “we've got a coworker who swears that the printer room is haunted. Maybe we should bring her here and see if she also sees something.”
…. You weren't sure if she was making fun of you or not, so you stayed silent. Aiden was still looking at you like you had two heads while Fawn was pulling out her own phone, preparing to walk back down to take a look at the ruins herself. Then Denali called out to the three of you, asking what the hold-up was. That was enough to spur you to begin walking again.
“Aw, I wanted to get a picture,” Fawn said as you began climbing the stairs once more.
Fawn then looked to Aiden as he said to her “we can always snap a picture on the way back.”
“That's true.”
“And did Nell say that the printer room was haunted? I thought she said it was the third floor bathroom,” Aiden then said.
“It could've been both. According to her a lot of places are haunted. Something about weird energies,” Fawn responded.
They were talking about something from their work again, and since you still had no way to join in, you walked behind them in silence. As your group continued the ascent, you glanced behind to see if there was anything weird with the pillar from this angle. There was a nagging feeling at the back of your mind, and you felt as if there was someone watching you.
There was nothing, and though the feeling wasn't going away, you told yourself to forget about it.
Time passed as the clouds parted some to show how the sun had moved higher in the sky, and your group came to a wooden platform with benches and tables that were clearly meant as a rest stop for any hikers. The others decided that it was a good time to have lunch and settled themselves at a table. You, on the other hand, were still feeling some side effects from Fawn's driving earlier, and as you really didn't want to get sick in the middle of the hike, you opted not to eat. You sat with them at first, but when you once again felt like you couldn't contribute to the conversation, you stood up, the amateur photographer in you feeling fulfilled somewhat as you snapped a few more pictures of the scenery.
You wandered over to a different part of the platform, leaning your elbows on the wooden fencing as you looked out at the forest.
At the beginning of your trip it had been fairly overcast, and only after you had started this excursion had the clouds thinned and allowed the sun to shine through. But just as the weather started to clear up, it seemed to be turning overcast again as a mist began to fall, seemingly sliding from the top of the mountain and through the thick forest of trees. Was rain a possibility? Maybe, and of course you hadn't brought anything with you if that did happen. You had made a point to bring a first aid kit in case either you or someone else got hurt, but nothing to protect you in case the weather turned bad.
A flash of white caught your eye while you were caught up in your thoughts.
Glancing to your left, you found yourself staring at a white rabbit.
It was nice to finally see some wildlife for the first time since this hike had started and at first glance it seemed perfectly normal. But the more you looked at it, the more.... Odd it seemed.
It was sitting upright facing away from you, not moving at all. That didn't seem quite normal, since you thought most rabbits were inclined to hunker down and try to blend in with their surroundings if they encountered something they thought was a threat. This one didn't seem to be hiding, it just sat still, and the more you looked, the more it didn't seem like it was even breathing. It also seemed strange to find a pure white rabbit up in the mountains. The color was striking against the earthly tones of the forest, and presumably that should've meant that it would have been easy prey for any natural predators that roamed the area. In fact, it didn't look the slightest bit dirty, making you wonder if it was someone's pet that had escaped.
And the more you looked at it, the more something about it just seemed to be off. Like it had some kind of weird energy to it.
And yet you felt an urge to get closer to it.
The instant you moved closer it reacted by twisting it's head around to face you, and you saw it's face for the first time.
Or rather, it's lack of one.
No eyes, no nose, no mouth, no sort of features whatsoever. It's face, and the rest of it for that matter, was completely blank, and it seemed less and less like a living creature the longer you looked at it.
You stared at it, unsure of how you were supposed to react to such a thing.
“The rabbit doesn't have a face,” you said aloud.
Your friends didn't hear you. In their defense, you hadn't spoken all that loudly.
When you moved again it bolted, vanishing behind surrounding tree trunks.
Follow it
Maybe it was because of the shock you felt at seeing that thing that you didn't even question the thought. You just climbed over the fencing and headed out in the same direction you had seen it run off to.
It wasn't long before you caught sight of it again, and once more you were struck by how odd this thing was. It was sitting up again, staring at you. Almost like it was waiting for you.
Did you really want to follow a faceless rabbit into the woods? Apparently you did, because when you got close again it ran off, and the process repeated itself as it began to lead you through the forest, taking you further and further away from the hiking trail and down an unmarked path. The rabbit never got too far before it would stop and wait for you to catch up, and it stayed still during the few times that you would pause for a break. It really was waiting for you, and somehow, it didn't seem like it was running in any random direction. More like it was leading you somewhere.
A haze had seemed to form in your mind. Somehow, none of this seemed questionable to you, that you were running off in pursuit of a white rabbit like a heroine from a Lewis Carroll book. Or at least some darker version of that tale given the rabbit's lack of a face which you still weren't able to make sense of. There was no reason for you to be running off of the trail like this, into terrain that you weren't familiar with, but every time you caught sight of the rabbit, something inside you told you that you needed to go after it.
You did just that for some time until the haze finally broke.
In the midst of your pursuit, you happened to step on a hollow, rotted log, and the wood was weak enough that when you put your weight on it, your foot went right through. You shrieked, stumbling forward as you desperately pulled your foot out. To add to your panic, there had been a fair amount of bugs living inside of the log, some of which had attached themselves to your shoe, and you kicked your foot out rapidly to get them off of you. They scattered, and you stumbled back before landing awkwardly on your ankle. Pain shot through you, and you fell against the trunk of a tree where you sank to the forest floor, one hand steadying yourself while the other was over your chest as you tried to calm yourself down.
What the hell am I doing?
The thought struck you. Why had you gone off the trail like this? And for some weird rabbit creature, of all things? What was the point of this excursion? What if you got hurt?
You put some weight on the foot that had gone through the log and you hissed as another sharp bolt of pain hit you.
Scratch that. You'd already managed to hurt yourself.
It seemed like your ankle was sprained. Clearly you had landed on it wrong after getting your foot out of the log.
Ah, this was the worst.
You gingerly removed your shoe and tried to get a look at the damage. It didn't look too bad yet, but there was definitely something wrong with it as you only felt pain every time you moved it. How fast does the swelling set in? At least you'd had the forethought of bringing a few rolls of elastic bandage wraps, though you felt like you'd need some help to get it properly wrapped.
Which meant you'd need to find your way back to your friends.
How far away were you from the trail by now? You weren't even sure how much time had passed since you had left them. It was all so strange, that you had gotten such extreme tunnel vision like that and had run off. And because of that, you had gotten hurt and would have a hard time making your way back, or else they would need to come in to find you.
They'd be upset with you, wouldn't they?
You probably wouldn't be able to continue the hike, and you were sure there'd be some resentment if this outing was cut short because of you. Maybe you could just wait at the rest area? They'd be coming down the same path when they came back, so maybe they could continue the hike and you could rest up and join them on the return trip. It'd be boring for you but then at least the trip wouldn't be a waste for them.
You sighed as you began to shimmy your shoe back onto your foot. Today was a bust. First the thing with Fawn, then the way it seemed like you were being ignored, and now this.
They hadn't even said anything when you jumped the fence to chase after the rabbit, had they? Not that you'd really been paying attention, so maybe they had, but they sure hadn't gone after you.
… Not that it was on them to look after you. You were an adult and therefore not their responsibility. It was wrong to think like that.
You sighed again.
Everything that had happened today really had been your own fault, huh? It was all you could do to hope nothing else bad would happen.
You remembered some old superstitious saying about bad things happening in threes. If that was true, then maybe your bad luck was over for the day.
Trying to get off of that particular train of thought, you looked about for something that could work as a walking stick, something strong enough to hold your weight for when you made your way back to the path.
A voice called out from far away, and when you paused to listen, you heard the voices of your friends calling out your name.
That was actually really good.
A new creeping fear was that you would be lost in the woods and have a hard time finding the path, but as long as they were calling out to you, you could use the sounds of their voices to find your way back. As you were about to push yourself to your feet, you allowed yourself to be a little hopeful, feeling that the bad things were done for the day.
You heard something then, as though something had dropped onto the ground next to you.
In an automatic response, you turned your head towards the sound and found a pipe laying atop the dirt and fallen leaves.
Had that been there earlier?
It was moderately sized, a black stem with a little bit of intricate gold detailing on either end, while the bowl at the end of the pipe was more of a darker bronze.
Wouldn't you have noticed this earlier? Or had you been that distracted when you'd been desperately shaking all of the bugs off of your foot?
Without really thinking about why you reached out to grab it as you wondered to yourself if there were still people these days who smoked using pipes.
It was warm when your fingers made contact, and as you raised it up to inspect it more, you noted how clean it was. If it had been out here for a day or so there would've been more dirt on it, but with the state it was in, someone must have dropped it not too long ago.
At least it gave you some comfort knowing that you weren't the only one who had wandered off the trail, though you were probably still one of the dumbest to do so since you had gone off in chase of a freaky rabbit.
Should you take the pipe with you? Was there some sort of lost and found box down at the parking lot? Would the person who lost it even still be looking for it, or would they have already accepted that it was gone forever?
With those thoughts swirling around your head, you didn't notice the sound of footsteps that came closer until they stopped right next to you.
“Are you alright?”
A man's voice broke you from your thoughts, and when you turned your gaze upwards, you found an older man standing above you, leaning an arm against the same tree trunk you were resting against. White hair, a gray dress shirt with a red tie and wearing black sunglasses despite the clouds overhead, he looked down at you with a clear look of concern on his face.
“Ah – yes! Well, mostly,” you said once you realized he was waiting for an answer.
“Mostly?”
“I think I sprained my ankle.”
He knelt down next to you, asking “may I?” as he motioned to your aforementioned ankle. You nodded, and he inspected your ankle. He was gentle with you, looking over the injured area carefully and apologizing any time he caused you some discomfort.
“How bad is it?” you asked him after a moment.
“I'd say you were right. It looks sprained.”
You groaned a little, disappointed that you were correct.
“Do you have anything to wrap it with?” he asked.
“Yeah, in my backpack,” you answered, “I was gonna get my friends to help me with it once I got back to them.”
“Where are they?”
“Back by the path, I think. It sounded like they were looking for me just now.”
However, you could no longer hear them. In fact, the whole forest seemed oddly silent now, the only exception being the wind that would at times whistle through the trees. And had it gotten darker?
“That's weird,” you said more to yourself, “I know I heard them.”
The man who sat patiently before you, with your ankle still in his care, looked about for any sign of your friends before he spoke again.
“Well, I'm here now,” he told you, “care if I patch you up instead?”
“Um, as long as it isn't too much trouble?”
He smiled at you.
“It's no trouble at all.”
Saying that it would be easier for him to work on you, the man carefully picked you up and moved you so that you sat on a nearby boulder, kneeling down in front of you again as he waited for you to fish out the bandages from your pack.
“I'm Morel, by the way.”
You gave him a small smile in return, introducing yourself as well as you handed off the bandages.
“What are you doing out here?” he asked as he began to wrap up your ankle.
“Hiking with friends.”
“I figured that much,” he said, grinning a little, “but the trail is a good distance from here. How did you end up off of it?”
“Ah....”
Despite the pain in your ankle and the circumstances between you and your friends, it hadn't been lost on you that Morel was pretty handsome. A bit rugged, but in a good way. And though you knew nothing about this man – for all you knew he had a wife and child at home waiting for him – you didn't want to say something that might make him think you were an idiot. Telling him that you had gone chasing after a rabbit would definitely make him think you were an idiot.
And you didn't want to mention that you thought it had no face. Then he'd think you were crazy.
“I saw some ruins down at the base of the mountain; thought it'd be cool if I went exploring and see if I could find some more,” you lied.
“Unfortunately, any ruins would be down at the bottom. Nobody would've built anything this far up,” Morel explained.
“Ah, I see.”
You stayed quiet a moment, looking back in the direction where you'd heard your friends calling. You still couldn't hear them, and it worried you that something may have happened.
There was also that white mist from earlier that had grown thicker while Morel wrapped your ankle, slowly settling down around you and making the scene around you look more ethereal.
“Why did you wander out on your own? One of them should've come with you,” Morel said suddenly.
“Oh.... I kinda, um, ran off without telling them anything.”
So much for not sounding like an idiot.
Morel paused, glancing back up at you as he asked “did something happen?”
“... Not really? I mean, kind of, but...” you trailed off for a moment, “it's mostly my fault. I'm the one who isn't trying hard enough to talk it out with them. Ah, I really hope I haven't ruined this trip.”
“I doubt you running off could've ruined it.”
“I hope not. But still, I'll need to apologize, maybe take all of them out for a meal after to make up for it,” you said.
There was a sad expression on Morel's face when he looked up at you after you said that. Something in the way he frowned and his brows furrowed at your words made it seem like he knew something you didn't.
You didn't get a chance to question him on it as he finished up wrapping your ankle, handing the remaining bandages back to you as he announced “all done.”
“Ah – Thank you.”
He seemed a bit more cheerful now, though he looked off in the direction you had been looking in.
“Those friends of your still on the trail?” he asked.
“I'm not sure? It really did sound like they were looking for me earlier.”
“I see. Then if they're looking for you maybe we should stay put. Wait for them to get to us. It won't do any good if we all get lost trying to find each other.”
That made sense, and you nodded.
Morel sat down next to you, the boulder being large enough to fit both of you, though he did need to squeeze in a bit closer than you would normally be comfortable with a complete stranger. You found that you didn't mind much, though. Although for the sake of your friend group you wanted to be found soon, you didn't dislike the idea of spending more time alone with Morel. He seemed trustworthy, and being in such close contact more than made up for all the stuff from earlier.
…. Good lord. Were you really this weak for a random guy you found attractive?
The mist seemed to be growing thicker, but you could still make out most of the trees that surrounded you.
“What are you doing up here, Morel?” you asked, “it doesn't look like you're dressed for hiking.”
“I live here.”
“Really? On the mountain?”
He nodded.
“Wow. I didn't know anybody lived up here. Is it just you or are there others?”
“There's a few of us up here, though my neighbors tend to keep to themselves,” he told you, “a lot of them just want to be left alone.”
It seemed surprising to you that there was more than one person who lived up on a mountain like this. Especially since you had been under the impression that the area was part of a park. Maybe his place had been built beforehand and he was grandfathered in somehow?
The more you thought about it, the more you felt that didn't make a lot of sense. But before you could voice that opinion, it was like the thought was forcibly torn from your mind, and something within you encouraged you to try and learn more about him.
“Are you one who wants to be left alone?” you asked him instead.
“For the most part,” he answered, “but I don't mind people on occasion. My neighbors, not so much.”
“Would they have gotten mad at me?”
“Definitely.”
“Guess I'm lucky you found me and not them,” you said.
He smiled at that, but didn't say anything, and you continued.
“Although if your neighbors want isolation, isn't it inconvenient that the trail's been set up here? Don't you have to worry about people trespassing?”
“Most people know not to go off the path,” Morel said, “though I guess you're not one of them.”
“It wasn't my fault!” you insisted, “there was a rabbit, and I just - I don't know, needed to follow it.”
Why had you done that again? You'd been questioning it before Morel found you but you'd gotten distracted. It was strange. And did the rabbit really have no face? Maybe your mind was just tired and had made it up or something and you just ran off because you were an idiot.
Where had it even gone, anyway?
Morel tilted his head, smirking at you.
“I thought you said you were looking for more ruins? You mean you were actually chasing after rabbits?” he asked.
….. You forgot that you lied.
Your fingers fiddled with the hem of your shirt while you looked away in embarrassment.
“.... I didn't want you to think I was stupid,” you mumbled.
He laughed at that, and you felt worse about your lie, turning your head away further as you made a point to not look at him.
“Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean it,” he said, one of his hands coming up to playfully tousle your hair. You glanced back at him then, and the sour look on your face lessened a little when you saw how he smiled at you.
“I've also gone off wandering after random things,” he continued, “I've hurt myself a few times, too, so don't feel bad.”
That made you feel a bit better, and you relaxed a little more.
“What kind of things have you gone wandering after?” you asked him.
“Things that you probably wouldn't believe if I told you.”
That answer was oddly cryptic, though you supposed that made two of you, since you were still too nervous to divulge the fact about the rabbit lacking a face. Maybe Morel had seen freakier things up here. But since he didn't seem to want to go into that, maybe it'd be better to steer the conversation away from the potentially supernatural.
“Were you wandering after something when you found me?” was your next question.
“No, not today. I was in the middle of looking for something I had lost.”
“Oh. Sorry,” you said.
“For what?”
“Distracting you, and making you wait here with me.”
“It's not that important,” Morel said, “and what kind of guy would I be if I left you out here by yourself? Especially with that fog that's settling in.”
“I'd probably be okay. Oh. Unless there's bears. Then I might not be.”
You remembered the shape you had seen when you had first arrived, and you asked him “are there bears on this mountain?”
“I've never seen any.”
You hummed at that, thinking again about what you had seen and trying to figure out what it was.
“Did you see one?” asked Morel.
“I don't know. I saw something weird when I was in the parking lot, and I'm still not sure what it was,” you explained, “I've seen some other stuff, too. Some a bit more freaky than a bear.”
“Like what?”
“.... Do you promise not to laugh at me?”
“I promise, I'm done laughing at you,” Morel said, grinning a little.
Despite being unsure if you could trust him in that regard, you decided to speak anyway.
“So, the rabbit that I saw earlier – I'm not really sure why I followed it, but I noticed it back at the rest area. It seemed kinda weird when I saw it, because it didn't look like it was breathing? And when I got closer, I swear, it didn't have a face. No features at all. It was just blank.”
You prepared yourself for him to laugh at you again. When he didn't say anything, you looked back to him.
Morel looked surprisingly neutral.
“That does sound strange,” was his reply.
“.... Do you believe me?”
Morel looked away from you, leaning back on his hands as his gaze seemed to go to the cloudy sky above the trees that surrounded the two of you.
“You know, I think I do. Living up here, I've had my fair share of strange occurrences. Not quite like that, but maybe I just haven't encountered that before.”
It was a relief to hear that he wasn't mocking you, and it was even more of a relief that he actually believed you, as you had been worried that his reaction might resemble what had happened earlier with Aiden and Fawn. Him believing you spurred you to speak more.
“I saw something before, too,” you said, “down near the ruins, at one point I thought I saw a man standing next to them. But when I looked up from my camera he was gone.”
“What did he look like?”
“Not sure. I saw him, but I somehow didn't really see him? Or I just saw his general shape,” you continued, “the others were joking that it was a ghost.”
“Could've been,” said Morel, “this is ancient land with a lot of older things attached to it. There are probably more than a few wayward souls that have found a home here.”
“..... Do you think they could be dangerous?” you asked him.
“Maybe some of them. But most people should be safe if they stay on the path.”
He grinned again when he looked back at you.
“Who knows. You could've come across something bad,” he said jokingly.
“Don't you and your neighbors live up here? It can't be all that bad if that's the case,” you responded, “though I think I'll try to keep from chasing after anymore weird rabbits.”
“Probably a good idea.”
A comfortable silence settled over the two of you. The mist had expanded as you continued to wait for your friends, who you hadn't heard in some time now. It should've worried you more that you couldn't hear them – they hadn't given up on you, had they? Even if they were really annoyed with you they surely wouldn't go that far. Yet you found yourself thinking even if that was the case, it would be okay. Morel was so nice, he wouldn't just leave you here if they didn't show up, right? At the very least, he'd take you back to the trail.
If your friends had bailed on you, then maybe you should repay him by taking him out to dinner.
The tops of the trees were slowly becoming more obscured as the fog continued to drift down, and all you could think was that it looked pretty.
“Is it nice living up here?” you asked him.
“Yeah, pretty nice. Lots of good scenery.”
He seemed to be thinking about something, and you noticed that his shoulders sagged slightly.
“Being completely alone can get to you, though.”
There was a sadness in his voice. He did say that him wanting to be alone was just 'for the most part'. Unless that was a lie. What sort of circumstance could drive him to be living alone in the wilderness if he didn't actually want to be here? You wanted to know, but worried that might be crossing a boundary of some sort, and that made you hesitate to question him further.
“Do you not want to be here?” you asked him softly.
“No, I do,” said Morel, “but I also liked being around people. It just became hard to be around them after a while.”
“Hard to be around them?” you repeated.
“Yeah. It's.... It's just tough to explain,” he said.
“Sorry.”
He shook his head.
“Don't worry about it.”
It confused you, and while you wanted to ask a few more questions, you got a sense that he didn't want to talk about it anymore.
You found yourself wondering if Morel suffered from some extreme form of anxiety or agoraphobia. He seemed like a pretty calm person, but maybe that was only because he was in an environment where he was comfortable. That could have made sense, although you mentally berated yourself shortly after for jumping to conclusions like that just because he didn't want to talk about it. Maybe you should try to move the topic to something else.
“Does anyone come up to visit you?” you asked.
“No.”
Ah. Okay then.
“Then...” you trailed off briefly as you tried to find the right words, “ as long as it isn't too hard to be around me, would you care if I came back to visit you? I could repay you with all you've done for me with a dinner. Maybe bring it by next week or something like that?”
Morel smiled at that, and yet to you it seemed forced. You got another sense that he knew something that you didn't, and that he was intentionally keeping that information from you.
What would he know that he'd be keeping from you?
The thought left your head just as quickly as it entered when he spoke again.
“I guess I could handle having you stop by,” he said jokingly, “you're pretty tolerable.”
“Ah, that's good. Glad to know I can at least be tolerated,” you answered back in a similar joking manner.
He chuckled at that.
“All jokes aside, it'll be nice to have some company up here,” he said softly.
It felt good that he accepted you so easily. Maybe he accepted you a little too easily given the short amount of time he had known you, but if he was living up here all by himself maybe he was just that desperate.
And the argument could also be made that you were similarly being too trusting of him. It was possible that this was just a facade of his that would drop the instant you were vulnerable. That'd probably be what Colton would tell you if he knew the thoughts going around your head.
Although you were already pretty vulnerable, weren't you? Alone in the wilderness with a man you just met and a sprained ankle, so you weren't even able to run if you needed to. Even with your friends that were hopefully close by, with Morel's size it would've been easy enough for him to drag you off if he wanted. Helping you, sitting down and waiting with you for your friends just to gain your trust seemed to be a bit too much effort if his ultimate goal was to take you away.
You forced down those silly, anxious thoughts of yours. Morel wouldn't hurt you, you were certain of it.
The mist around the two of you was growing thicker still, but you didn't pay it much mind as you looked back down to your lap.
Something was sticking out of the front pocket of your jacket, and then you remembered that you still had that pipe you had found this whole time, having absentmindedly stuck it into your pocket when Morel moved you earlier. A thought then occurred to you as you looked at it again.
“This wouldn't be yours, would it?” you asked him as you pulled it out to show him.
Looking down at it, you noted that he didn't seem too surprised as he said to you “it would, actually.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. That's what I was looking for when I came across you,” Morel said.
“Huh. That's some weird coincidence,” you said as you extended your hand out to give him the pipe.
“It happens,” he said. He thanked you as he took it from you, pocketing it before his hands went back to where they had been before.
There was no urgency within you as you continued to sit with Morel, the mist still swirling and settling around the two of you. The more the mist grew, the more the thoughts of your friends and the worries within you began to slip away.
You had nothing to worry about.
Had you been paying more attention to him, you would've seen Morel stiffen ever so slightly, maybe even heard him curse under his breath as he sensed something that was now in the general vicinity. But you only noticed when he stood up suddenly, hands on his hips as he turned to face you.
“Hate to say it, but this fog'll probably only get worse. I'm not sure it's a good idea to keep waiting here,” he told you.
It had seemed to become exponentially worse as soon as he spoke those words, the fog that had been fairly moderate now surprisingly thick, to the point that you had a hard time making out the trees that were closest to you. Somehow you hadn't noticed just how bad it was until now.
“Ah. Yeah, you're right,” you said, “I think I remember which direction the trail is in. I should be able to make it back on my own.”
“What – no, that's not...”
Morel was rather flustered now, a hand running through his hair as he continued “even if you can make it back there, I doubt you'll have an easy time going down those stairs with your ankle like that. And with how hard it is to see right now, there's a 100% chance that you'll end up falling.”
You nodded, though you weren't certain where he was going. It seemed like a lot to ask him to walk you back in such circumstances, and far, far too much to have him take you back down the mountain.
“Since we're not sure what happened with your friends, I think the best thing I can do is take you back to my place for the time being.”
That hadn't been what you were expecting, and you opened your mouth to second-guess that idea until he spoke again.
“Just until the fog clears,” he assured you, “and this way you can get some actual rest inside instead of sitting out in the cold like this.”
… Morel's proposal seemed a lot nicer, you had to admit.
“I guess,” you began, “as long as you're sure it isn't too much trouble.”
He smiled at you as he said “I promise, it isn't.”
Any worries that this may be overstepping some kind of boundary faded from your mind after his reassurance, and you looked about the forest again.
“I guess we should try to find something for me to use as a walking stick,” you said, squinting your eyes when the fog proved to be too thick to see clearly, “unless you're okay with me leaning on you.”
“I've got a better idea.”
With that, Morel turned around and knelt down, his arms stretched out behind his back as he said “I'll carry you.”
After assuring you that this way would be faster, it didn't take much for you to take him up on his offer. After you made sure not to put any weight on your ankle while you climbed onto his back, Morel slowly lifted you up after he had your legs secured around his waist and you loosely held on around his neck.
With the sensation of you being pressed against him, of your warmth and virtually feeling the way your heart was steadily beating against his back, Morel let out a quiet, relieved sigh as he began the trek back to his home. He was grateful that you hadn't questioned him or tried to insist that he take you back to the trail anyway. If he hadn't been able to convince you, he'd need to take you by force. Such a thing would have been easy for him to do, and it was probably more common for those like him to take their captured humans while they kicked and screamed.
But he didn't want to traumatize you during the journey to your new home.
Luckily his aura that had been slowly engulfing you was able to influence you enough that you weren't questioning him on much, so the trip would be a peaceful one, although it was marred by how dishonest he was being about all of this.
If only he could just sit you down and explain everything, why he was doing this. But he knew you wouldn't believe him.
No reasonable person would believe him if he told them he was a banshee.
Saying that would only make you feel unsafe, maybe try to run from him, and then you'd end up even more injured in the process, and even more upset when you found that you could no longer leave the mountain.
But even that would be better than the alternative.
Morel just didn't like seeing people die.
The role of a banshee was to warn when death was coming. To let out that unearthly wail so the human marked for death could prepare and make peace with their fate. For Morel, when he saw someone who was marked to die, it looked like a cloud had settled around them. An aura that grew darker and darker as the human came closer to the time of their death until the aura had blackened completely. Then Death came to collect that unfortunate's soul.
And Morel was unable to do anything but give a heads up.
It was depressing. Being part of that cycle, watching as human after human had that cloud around them turn black and vanish as it left their lifeless bodies behind. And during the last years he had spent in the heavily populated areas, he found that more and more people were panicking when they heard his warning as a fear of death had grown stronger as time had gone by. The people who feared for their lives did everything in their power to try and prevent their deaths, and more often than not their attempts to thwart death ended up being what caused it. All because they had heard his warning.
It began to feel as though he was the one responsible for those who had died that way, and that felt even more depressing, to know that they had died because of him. By the end, Morel had grown tired of it all.
So he left.
He left the areas that were overrun with humans and found a home on an ancient mountainside. And for a while, he found some peace.
But time moved forward as it always did, and evidently, people forgot what areas were meant to stay sacred when they put together the hiking trail. It had angered many of his neighbors, but most were compelled to stay away from it and leave the humans alone as long as they stayed on the path.
And yet some of them couldn't do that, and on occasion the ones that strayed would run into some of the more malevolent spirits that resided on the mountain alongside him. He could usually tell when someone would die to the supernatural. The aura about them just had a certain feel to it, but Morel chose to stay out of it completely, not wanting to cause problems with his neighbors.
Even after trying to get away, he was still forced to see that cloud of death.
It was no different when he saw you after you first arrived.
Morel had happened to be at the base of the mountain when he saw you, the death cloud around you one shade off of completely black. You'd be dead before the end of the day. Perhaps during your trip in the woods, he had thought to himself. Yet as he observed you more, he felt that wouldn't be the case. Something told him that you would make it through this hiking trip of yours, but you would die almost immediately after. You seemed pretty healthy, so illness didn't appear to be the cause. An accident, then? That would be more likely. While he couldn't determine what exactly was going to happen, whatever it was would be sudden and violent.
Looking at the rest of your group, he found that none of them were marked for death like you were. Whatever happened after you all left, you would be the only one to die.
Something compelled Morel to keep watch over you, and so he followed behind, listening in on the conversations your friends were having and waiting for you to speak up.
You weren't saying much, however, and when he moved off the trail to walk beside you so he could get a better look at your face, he was taken aback by how dejected you seemed.
Something was eating at you, but you were keeping quiet about it as you continued to follow behind, almost unnoticed by the others in your group.
Your last hours of life were going to be spent with you feeling ignored and lonely, and that depression Morel felt when it came to these things returned. You shouldn't need to die today; you should've had years left of your life, not a scant few hours. It wasn't right, but there was nothing he could do.
Or was there?
An idea came to Morel, and he became lost in his own thoughts as he found himself walking away from the trail as your group came closer to the stairs. He made his way towards what had been a chapel for some long-forgotten deity, mulling over the thought in his head.
There was something he could do to alter your fate, both him and the magic still in the mountain powerful enough to allow him to lay a claim on you. But was it worth angering Death itself to keep you safe?
As he contemplated what to do, he looked back to you.
You had taken your phone out, holding it in a way that made it clear you were aiming to get a picture of the ruins he just so happened to be standing next to.
It took less than a second for him to realize what had happened when you blinked in surprise and took your eyes off of your phone.
You could see him.
You may not have been aware of it, but your eyes met his in that moment. Based off how you looked him over, you weren't able to see him all that clearly, but he could still tell when your eyes met again as you tried to make out any features of his face.
Then one of the people from your group called out and you looked away, and Morel made himself vanish. The confusion was clear when your head turned back and found him to be gone, and you ended up following your group again with your brows furrowed.
It was something that happened on occasion with certain people, another confirmation that you were close to death: as your final hour drew near, the barrier between you and the spiritual realm was thinning and you were beginning to see things that you weren't meant to.
When you looked back one more time, you managed to look in the exact spot where he had been standing, though this time he made sure you couldn't see him. He felt the way your eyes met his again before you turned your head back, that black cloud of death still engulfing you.
Something about your situation and that sight made Morel snap.
Screw fate. He needed to save you.
As he made his decision and began to follow you in earnest, a part of him was aware that saving you wouldn't do anything for the countless people that died every day, but he felt that if he could save at least one person from an unfair and untimely death, he could live better with himself. If he could keep you alive and happy, it was worth it.
He'd been worried that luring you away with the rabbit wouldn't work. You were far enough along that you could see it for what it really was: a creation that he'd made out of mist and smoke. Yet during the time you had spent getting up to the rest area, he had expanded his aura around you for long enough that any reservations you may have had about the slightly horrifying thing before you were easily pushed to the side as he compelled you to go after his creation, to get you further into the woods and by yourself.
He hadn't planned on you getting injured in the process, and when he heard your friends calling for you sooner than he expected he threw his pipe next to you in an act of desperation and just hoped that you would grab it. As long as you picked up something that belonged to him of your own free will, then you would belong to him.
You had done just that. And therefore, he was now free to do whatever he pleased with you.
“Is there a reason why we need to get to your place fast?” you asked him as he carried you back.
“You see how thick the fog is, right? I need to get us there before I lose my way,” Morel said, “can't embarrass myself like that, can I?”
Actually he just wanted to get out of there because of the other being that had been approaching the two of you. As much as he was able to hold influence over you, you would no doubt panic if you saw a headless woman sitting astride a horse casually come up to you.
“That makes sense,” you said. Then you giggled a little to yourself.
“I'm still mad that you laughed at me earlier,” you told him, “so if you do get lost, then I'm allowed to laugh at you.”
“Fair enough. If I get us lost you can laugh at me,” he agreed.
You laughed a little bit more.
“I won't actually do that. If we do get lost I'll probably be more concerned with trying to keep calm.”
“Don't worry; I know this mountain like the back of my hand,” he assured you.
If you had really been thinking about it, you might have questioned him on that. If he knew his way around that well, why couldn't he take you back to the trail? Why was he insisting on taking you back to his home?
But with the way his aura was enveloping you completely, no such thoughts came to mind, and you instead softly rested your head against him, feeling content.
You were rather easy to influence, and that fact made Morel feel badly for manipulating you the way he was.
He'd make it up to you, he told himself. He'd done good by wrapping up your ankle, and now he'd take care of you.
Glancing back at you, he felt satisfied to see that the black cloud of death had vanished. You no longer needed to fear anything like that.
You belonged to him now, and Morel would keep you safe for the rest of eternity.

You’re mine
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Loki are in a relationship. Loki is quite jelous of Steve. When Steve helps you on a mission, Loki decides you need to be reminded to who you belong.
Word count: 1.979 words
Warnings: Dubious consent
A/N: A little bit shorter than usual. Didn’t have a lot of time this week. Hope you’ll still enjoy it :)
The explosion was unexpected. Rubble was starting to come down, the building next to you was hit. Looking up, you saw the rubble coming at down at high-speed. You were going to get hit. Your movement froze and the only thing you did was staring at the rocks, getting bigger, getting closer. Suddenly a large figure grabbed your waist and pushed you down. It took you a moment to realize it was Steve. He was holding you tightly, his shield protecting the both of you against the falling rocks. He got up and helped you to your feet. “Try to stay sharp! We’re almost done.” he said to you before he ran off.
You looked around for any civilians. There were non left behind. The only person you saw was Loki. He was staring at you from the other side of the street. He looked mad. You started to walk towards him, but he disappeared. You shrugged it off. After a last check to be sure that there weren’t any civilians left, you walked towards the rest of the group. Steve, Thor and Tony were standing in the middle of the road. Building rocks were scattered all around this part of the city, cars were smashed and you could see bullet holes in the structures. Walking towards the group you asked if there was anything you could do. They dismissed you and you walked back to the chopper.
Loki was already there, sitting in one of the seats. When you walked inside the chopper he immediately got up. “Are you hurt?” he asked you. He had a worried look on his face. “I’m fine” you said, “Just some scrapes and bruises, nothing to worry about. You?” He looked you up and down, but didn’t answer your question. His facial expression changed from worried to angry. Here we go.. you thought. “How can you be so stupid? You could have DIED!” he started to yell. “I don’t know what happened, I realized too late what was happening. But I’m fine! Steve was there, everything turned out okay.” you told him in a calm voice, hoping he would also calm down. It didn’t work.
Loki glared at you. “Sure, the super-hero soldier to the rescue. How lucky indeed.” he spat. It wasn’t a secret that Loki was possessive of things, he thought belonged to him. You were one of those things. Since Steve was everything Loki wasn’t, your typical good-guy who always does the right things, Loki was scared of losing you to him. Steve was a bit flirty toward you, which didn’t help at all. Before the fight could escalate further, Steve and Tony walked inside. Loki rolled his eyes and sat back in his seat. You took the seat next to him. “Thor is flying himself back. Oh and (y/n) next time you need a hug, you can just ask. No need to put yourself in danger.” Steve said to you. He winked at you and walked with Tony toward the pilot seats. You could feel the anger radiation off of Loki. “You are not going on any more missions with HIM” Loki hissed at you. “Loki, I’m not interested in him. You are being unreasonable, besides we have no say in which mission we go on.” you whispered back.
“I think you forgot who you belong to” he growled back. “Buckle up guys, the weather will be bad. This will be a bumpy ride home. We should be there in half an hour.” Tony told everybody. He and Steve were chatting, but you were too far away to hear what they were saying. Thankfully, because that meant that they couldn’t hear you and Loki either. Loki grabbed you and pulled you on his lap. “Well..” he growled. He really is in a mood you thought. “Loki, can we not do this here? We’ll talk when we get home, okay?” you told him. He gave you a glare, but didn’t reply. The chopper took off and you hold on to Loki, so you wouldn’t fall of. When the chopper was steady again you got off his lap, intending on taking the seat next to him. He grabbed your waist and pulled you back in “You’re not going anywhere” he told you.
You wanted to respond, but suddenly you felt his lips on your neck. You held back a gasp. You tried to wiggle free, but Loki was much stronger than you. He put a hand on your thigh and started to stroke on the inside. You knew where this was going. “Loki, NOT HERE” you hissed at him. He chuckled against you neck “I do what I want.” He kissed his way upwards and nibbled on your earlobe. You felt yourself become aroused, but couldn’t relax because you were fully aware of Steve and Tony in the pilot seats. You tried to push Loki’s hand from you thigh. He grabbed your wrist “Here is what is going to happen. I’m going to fuck you right here, right now. And you are going to let me” he whispered in a husky voice. The sound of his voice was erotic and you shivered at the thought of Loki taking you right here, right now.
His hand travelled towards your pants and he undid the button and zipper. Not knowing how to react you sat very still on his lap. He slid his hand in your pants, exploring the fabric of your underwear. You tried to move away, but he pulled you further into his lap. Your back was now towards him. He grabbed both your wrists with one hand and pulled you flushed against him. His other hand was lightly stroking your clit through your fabric. You felt your panties become wetter. Loki was kissing and biting your neck. “Good girl” he purred. Your whole body shivered at his words. He was teasing you, licking your earlobe and lightly stroking you. Occasionally he put his fingers underneath the band of your underwear. When he heard your breath hitch he removed it and went back to stroking your clit through the fabric.
“You two still okay back there?” Steve asked you. You panicked and prayed he didn’t turn around. “Yeah, fine” you said, your voice more squeaky than before. That was Loki’s cue to slide your underwear away and put his finger inside of you. “Okay, were about half way.” Steve said. “We are not done for a very long time” Loki purred in your ear. He pushed another finger inside of you. You couldn’t help but starting to move your hips up and down. “That’s right. Fuck yourself with my fingers” he whispered to you. His commanding voice aroused you even more. You didn’t care anymore if anyone turned around, right now you needed to come. You needed to come badly. You rocked your hips faster, hearing the wet sounds of his fingers inside of you. You started to pant heavily. “You sure you’re doing fine kiddo?” Tony asked you. You started to panic, but didn’t stop riding Loki’s fingers. “She’s fine” Loki said back, his voice leaving no room to argue. You were about to come, when Loki pulled away his fingers. You whimpered at the empty feeling inside of you. “You come, when I tell you to come” he hissed at you. “Shall we see if we can make them turn around?” he purred. Your whole body tensed up. A green shimmer covered you and suddenly your clothes were gone. You wanted to gasp but Loki covered your mouth with his hand. “Now try to remain silent, because I’m not stopping for anyone” he whispered in your ear. He had freed his hardened cock and you could feel it nudge at your entrance. You felt helpless and noticed that you liked that feeling.
He slowly slid inside of you. The feeling was incredible and you fought to hold back your moaning. Loki started to roll his hips, hitting your G-spot. He slowly repeated the action, getting you worked up. It wasn’t fast enough to make you come, but it kept you right on the edge. Wanting more friction you started to move your hips with him. He grabbed your hair and pulled you towards him. His teeth were in your neck, biting hard. You flexed every muscle to keep yourself from making any sound. Loki started to lick your neck and chuckle. “If he saw you now, he surely knows who you belong to.” He put his hand on your clit, starting to make circles. At that time the plane was shaking. “Hold on some turbulence” Steve said. Loki snaked his other hand around you and pinched your hardened nipple. “Come now” he growled putting more pressure on your clit. He rolled his hips in a faster pace and you came undone in five seconds. The turbulence was loud and hid your moaning. You felt Loki pumping in and out of you harder. He grabbed your hips and moved you in a faster pace. Because of the sensitivity you were trying to get away, but he wouldn’t let you. The sound the turbulent plain was making drowned out your moaning and sobbing. You heard a growl behind you and felt Loki’s seed spill inside of you. He pumped a few more times, before he slid out of you.
“We’re going to land” you heard Tony say. Loki flicked his hands and a new set of clothes appeared on you. The jeans were the same, but your blue t-shirt was now a dark green one. He turned you a quarter, so you were still sitting in his lap but were able to see him. You try to stand up “Where you going?” he said, holding you firm on his lap. “To the bathroom, to clean myself up” you whispered. “No, you’re not. You need to be reminded that you’re mine” he growled. “Every time HE flirts with you, I’m going to fuck you senseless. I don’t care where we are. You’re mine. So unless you want everyone to see, I suggest you avoid him” he hissed. Before you could answer he grabbed your neck and pulled you in for a kiss. You knew you shouldn’t like this side of him, but you kind of did. The plain was now on the ground and the doors opened. You heard Steve and Robert get up from their chairs.
“Jesus, get a room” Tony laughed. Loki broke the kiss and you quickly stood up. Steve looked puzzled at you. “What’s wrong” Loki asked him with an innocent voice. “N- nothing, have you changed shirts?” Steve asked you. You felt yourself blush and look to the ground. Loki put an arm around your waist “I changed it for her, green does look so much better on her. Don’t you think?”  he said to  Steve. His voice didn’t sound annoyed, but the hateful undertone was clearly there. Steve motioned at his own outfit “I prefer blue, as you can see” he said in a monotone voice. Loki pulled you closer against him and kissed your temple. He glared at Steve. Luckily, Robert spoke up. “Well, I could eat. Let’s go!” he said. He walked outside towards the tower. Steve turned towards you “You really should consider changing your shirt back to blue” he said smirking at you. He then quickly followed Tony to the exit. You looked at Loki, who couldn’t possible look any angrier. You pulled him in for a kiss, hoping it would calm him. When you broke the kiss his expression was softer. Then an wicked smirk appeared on his face “I think you’re in for quite a exhausting evening” he said while his hand travelled towards your clit. Your breath hitched. He then kissed you and took your hand. You followed him towards the exit. You secretly were excited for dinner.

i've never written anything with kids so rip my soul. i hope this satisfies your rent free needs. also maybe i was living vicariously through this prompt bc i wanted a treehouse so bad when i was younger and i still do.
treehouse.
Fred Weasley x Fem!Reader
Summary : fred builds a treehouse.
Warnings : parent roles (dad!fred x mom!reader); child role (child!colson); teasing; unedited.
Word Count : 1,184
A/N : Fred really out here getting my best ideas because i guess everybody's obsessed with him and keeps requesting for him lol. not that i mind hehe.
the masterlist.
request here.
You lean against the kitchen island, staring out the window to the backyard. In the backyard grew a large tree, you didn't remember it being that big, but you can't remember the last time you actually looked at the tree. Strangely enough, the longer you looked at it the more is seemed to grow.
You shiver, shaking off the thought of Fred growing a tree in the backyard. As you screw the cap of the jam jar back on, you hear the front door open and close.
"I'm back darling," Fred shouts, you can hear the jangling of keys being put away.
"Kitchen, honey," you call back, your hand on the handle of the refrigerator door. As you close it, Fred appears to your right, beaming.
"Shouldn't you be at the shop?" You ask, going on your tip toes, giving Fred a kiss on the cheek. "It's pretty late."
"Well, I've got a story for you," he crosses his arms with sternness, which makes you frown. "It's a good one, promise."
"...ok" you say, pressing your lips together, sighing heavily.
"So, I was driving Colson to young five's and he was going on and on about a treehouse, when I finally went ahead and said I'd build him one," now Fred goes back to beaming, a wide grin plastered over his face.
Now it all began to click. The strange tree in the backyard, Fred being late to work, Fred coming back home when he normally doesn't, "Wait...you're not-"
"I told him I would and I bought everything at one of those muggles stores with cut-up trees."
"Are you sure about this? It's not as easy as you thi-"
"It'll be fine a man there talked me through the whole thing and helped me pick everything out," he continues to explain with animosity, waving his arms like a madman. "All the materials are in the boot."
"Fred, how are you going to build a treehouse?" Still not entirely convinced that your husband, who's never done any manual labor in his life, to your knowledge at least, knows what he's doing.
"Magic of course," he scoffs at your seemingly stupid question.
"But the neig-" You're cut off, but the idea of the neighbors, ok, neighbors is a bit far off they lived about half a mile away, but still. The idea of the neighbors being able to see a six ft red headed giant, flicking around a wooden stick like he knows magic, and the magic actually working is questionable.
"You're going to be late for work, so stop questioning me and my wonders," Fred shuts you up with your worrying, and grabs your coat and bag, handing it to you. "It'll be done by the time you bring Colson home."
"You are mad," you shake your head in disbelief as Fred leads you to the front door.
With a sudden quickness he grabs your waist and pulling you in close, whispering in your ear lustfully, "For you."
It takes everything in you to not throw off your jacket and ignore your responsibilities to get Fred to please you.
Sadly, Fred lets you go adding, "And our kid of course," shrugging as he speaks, as if Colson is just a second thought.
You let out a laugh, smacking Fred's head, "How cruel of you, I'll be telling that to our kid later."
"You wouldn't dare," he threatens teasingly, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crosse.
"When I get back I expect this treehouse," you say, setting the expectation unreasonably high for fun. "Better wow me and Colson."
"I will, now go, you can't be late," Fred reassures, giving you a passionate kiss before sliding his thumb against your cheek. "Love you."
"Love you," you begrudgingly break away, taking Fred's hand and holding it before letting it go. "And please, don't break our house break in two," you joke, but with seriousness, before hopping in the car to drive off to St. Mungo's.
At work you worry about Fred hurting himself as you heal hurt patients. The thought of Fred wheeling in on a stretcher in the emergency room haunts you. You have to keep reminding yourself that Fred is capable of not falling off a tree, and as the day goes on the treehouse notion slowly leaves your head.
It's only when you're buckling in Colson when his presence reminds you of the treehouse.
"Hi love, how was school?" You ask once you're on the road headed home.
"I tolf- I tolf all my fwends about my tweehouse!" Colson replies, smiling brightly.
"Did you now?" You swallow, wondering exactly how the treehouse was going. Fred hadn't sent any messages so you were just as curious as Colson.
"Yup," you grin as Colson responds, popping his p with his lips.
The rest of the ride is spent on you asking Colson questions about school, and him doing his best to articulate a response. Better yet, you trying to understand child-talk.
You pull into the driveway and as soon as you set Colson down on the pavement, he runs to the backyard. You run to catch up with him, locking the door before you do. When you get to the backyard Fred has Colson in his arms as Colson marvels at his treehouse.
Leaning against the back of the house, you stare at the new addition to the backyard. You have to admit Fred did a really good job. Though it was a little wonky and you were afraid the roof with fly off with a strong gust of wind, it was amazing. There was a slide, tire-swing, and a bell.
Fred helps Colson up the ladder and then waits at the bottom of the slide for Colson to swoop down. As Colson ride his slide he squeals with giggles.
You walk over to Fred as he helps Colson up the ladder again. This time Colson rings the bell with a rope.
"Did I do good?" Fred asks, his eyes gleaming as you approach him.
"You did wonderful, I love it," you reply smiling, kissing Fred on the cheek. As your lips break away from his skin, you notice a dirt smudge right above his cheekbone.
You rub it off with your thumb and Fred scoffs. You're about to kiss Fred again when a little voice starts screaming.
"DADDYYYYYY!!!!" Colson shouts, waving his arms motioning Fred to come.
"That's your cue, I better start dinner," you sigh, beginning to turn around to get inside the house.
"I already made it," Fred grabs your wrist, stopping you from leaving. He grins with content.
"You did?" You exclaim happily, but then raise a brow filled with suspicion.
"I did," he reassures, tugging your arm only to become wrapped in his arms.
"Have I ever told you that I love you?" Your head lays against his chest, looking up at Fred, beaming. Fred leans down and kisses your forehead gently, making you feel warm on the inside.
The moment is cut short by Colson shouting manically.
"Coming," Fred sighs, rolling his eyes sarcastically, slowly unraveling his arms around you.

Those words sunk deep as you looked into Wilfords cold ice-sharp eyes, the way he was grinning as if this was a game. But it wasn't a game, this was your life, Curtis's life and ultimately the new life growing inside of you right now.
And right now it was better to stay with the devil you knew. Your hands flew to your still flat stomach, pressing it lightly while gasping out.
“But I'm pregnant, with Curtis’s child. You can’t give me to another while raising his child.” You pointed out, hoping that the facts would be on your side in this.
Wilford pulled back with a hearty laugh that made you feel sick, wanting to vomit hearing it. Claude to snickered at you as if you were to stupid to understand. Your confused look clouded your face.
“Girl, you think you get to keep that baby? No woman like you gets to keep them.” Wilford wiped under his eyes to clear the tears. You could feel the blood ringing in your ears now as panic settled in your chest.
“You are going to take away my baby?”
“Of course you stupid bitch, you all are not fit to be mothers. Other more capable women will take them, raise them.” Claude snapped out gleefully at your distress. Wilford leaned forward giving you what was supposed to be a comforting pat on the hand, which you pulled back to your chest out of his reach.
“Girl, you will birth that child and give him up to us. I might even keep this one for myself. If Curtis wins. I only keep winners. I expect you to be good to whoever gets to claim you after the tournament.” He shifted to a stand, putting his chair back. You were in too much shock to even comprehend what Claude and Wilford were saying to one another.
“Ah, Claude, you better take her back to Curtis. The pretty thing seems to be in shock.” Wilford sighed a bit. “If she wasn't a tail ender, I would keep her for myself. She is a lovely thing. I'm sure Curtis will do his best to keep her.”
You just stared ahead now while Claude pulled you to a stand with a mutter. “It is a shame Sir. But you don't really want to lower yourself to that.”
All of this was just mumbled nonsense to you, still rolling over what they said earlier, neither you nor Curtis were going to get to keep the baby.
Heading back towards the rooms, Claude paused you at the door and gave a nod to have it unlocked.

Curtis had been pacing the room. To watch him was like the large cats in the zoo, coiled muscles back and forth pacing, snarls of frustration escaping at his predicament. The creak of the door made him pause though and you stepped through, your arms wrapped around your midsection and a blank look on your face. That scared him. And when the door slammed shut behind you, you flinched and blinked suddenly realizing where you were.
“Y/N? Say something.” Curtis finally broke the silence, crossing the room to grasp your forearms, looking for another reaction from you. Anything to snap you out of the silence.
You blinked a few more times and opened your mouth to say something but the words seem to be stuck somewhere.
Curtis drew you to sit on the edge of the bed and lowered next to you waiting. Finally you looked at him, drawing in a breath.
“There's a tournament? And I'm the prize?” You asked it like a question, still disbelieving. Curtis’s face darkened with a nod.
“Yes. It's a gladiator style tournament once a year. I swear Y/N, I'm not going to lose and let anyone else have you. It’s why I have been training so hard.” He shifted in closer and let his hand rest on your thigh, squeezing lightly. “I have been training for these tournaments for years.”
You looked down at his hand and studied it a moment, his knuckles were thick with scar tissue, some still busted from use. Fingers dug slightly into your thigh, as if holding you to him in case anyone tried to take you.
Hands of someone who lived a hard life, but managed to be gentle on you most the time. You knew you would have to tell him the next part. This you didn't know how to deal with. It should have been joyful news, but it was so tainted by the situation. “I'm also pregnant, several weeks now. Did you know… when you got me pregnant that I wouldn't be keeping the child?” You cleared your throat a bit.
Curtis withdrew his hold on you, flexing his hand. “Y/N… I never was sure but I suspected. The other women I had with me, I never saw them again. I don't know what happened to them or if they were allowed to keep their children.” His shoulders hunched. “But you… Wilford told me you were going to stay. He told you specifically that he would be taking it away?”
You swallowed and pulled back into the bed, to use the wall as support, your legs stretched out before you and your hands resting on your stomach.
“He did, he plans on taking it as soon as I give birth.“ You say darkly, already feeling protective and deep sadness that you wouldn't be able to prevent this.
Unless… the idea was so dark, it made your stomach churn.
Curtis was quiet for that moment watching you, worried at how quiet you had turned. He made a move to touch you and you withdrew from him.
“Please don’t… just this once.” You asked and Curtis for the first time withdrew from you and moved to the chair at the table, rubbing a hand over his head.
Any other time this happened, it didn't mean much to him except that his current charge was leaving. But to hear that you had his baby growing inside you made conflicting feelings. Part of him was thrilled, for whatever reason he wanted to see you grow and need him. To cradle his child to your chest and whisper sweet nothings. Warming his bed and filling his life.
The dread followed close on that feeling, because nothing good ever happened on the train. Even if he won, you were still going to lose the child. And Curtis didn't think he could handle that pain, but more importantly, that you couldn't handle it. Pushing to a stand, he pounded on the locked door. Hard enough for you to jump “Curtis, what are you doing?” The door opened once more.
“I need to see Wilford.”
The guard shook his head. “Not till your appointed time.” Curtis surged forward, pushing the man back into the hallway wall and fisted his hand in his gear to lift him off his feet, snarling out.
“I need to see Wilford now.”
Let him come. Came a cackle in a walkie and Curtis let him go.
He didn’t look back as your panicked voice called to him once again. “CURTIS! What are you doing?” You were trying to untangle from the bed when the door slammed shut, the last view Curtis had of you was your look of confusion and panic.
Without a word, Curtis was escorted back to Wilford’s. Being let in, Curtis didn't even hesitate as he brushed past Claude, who huffed in annoyance. “Asshole.”
“You can’t take her child.”
Wilford was standing up in the engine. “Isn't she just beautiful Curtis? Every part of her has a function that keeps us alive and moving. I’ve worked so hard to keep her running so smoothly” Curtis went up the steps into the hellish thing, not finding the beauty that Wilford seemed to be admiring.
“Let her keep the baby.” He started again, clenching his hands at his sides to keep from grabbing Wilford. He knew if he did Claude would shoot him in two seconds, but the urge not to snap the man's neck burned through him.
Wilford finally broke from whatever he was admiring and turned sharply to ascend down the steps, leaving Curtis standing there. “You two can just make more Curtis. Why this time? You never cared before what happened to the women or children.”
“Because Y/N is staying with me, you take away that child and you will destroy a part of her.”
“Make her easier to handle then wouldn't it? No fight left.”
Curtis growled a bit. “She isn't a problem now Wilford.”
“Listen, I’m not an unreasonable man. You win, you keep it all. The girl, the baby. We will change the terms of your contract. You Curtis were always one of my favorites. If it makes you happy, then I can give you this.” Wilford finally said, acting as if he was doing Curtis a favor by the way he spoke to him.
“What's the catch? If I lose?” Curtis asked knowing there would be more and Wilford shrugged.
“Then you lose it all Curtis, just like always.” Wilford stated, snapping his fingers to have the guard come back in waiting for Curtis. “She belongs to the champion, she will lose the child and the terms of her contract with you will pass to whomever gets to claim her. Like I told your little Sweetheart, don’t mess up if you want to keep her with you that badly.”
Curtis glowered at him, straightening to his full height. “I don't plan on it.”
Wilford looked nothing but joyful and calculating. “Just what I wanted to hear.”
After that Curtis was directed to leave the engine, the steel door slamming in his face.
There is no other choice, not that there was much of one before going into the ring ever. If Curtis was to keep you safe, he was going to have to win. With that resolve, he went back to find you curled up on the bed, knees pulled up, arms hugging around yourself. As if you were trying to fold in on yourself and escape. Lifting your head when you heard the door open, Curtis could see the relieved sigh that escaped you. Your tension loosening in your hold as you shifted to sit at the edge of the bed. “What happened?”
“I just talked to Wilford.” He made his way to the chair at the table, easing down in it for a minute while the silence stretched between you two.
When Curtis leaned down to untie his boots, you ventured with your next question. Playing with your fingers. “About the child? Curtis if they take me away…” Your voice drifted, cracking a bit at the thought even passing your mind, let alone saying it. “Maybe it's just better that this baby doesn't come, you know? Maybe it's best to just-”
Curtis immediately snapped his head up, eyes blazing in anger as he barked out sharply. “Don’t even go there Y/N. You and that baby are not going anywhere.”
You quieted for a moment, looking down at your hands after his raise of his voice and you heard Curtis curse from his seat, moving to grasp your chin and make you look up at him. “Trust me okay Y/N. I'm not going to lose.”
You wanted to, you could see the resolve in his gaze as he made you look at him.
This sadness that was all over your face pained Curtis and he wanted nothing more than to take it away. His grasp loosened slightly on your chin, your eyes still uplifted to bore into his, but you made no move to pull away from him. He did what he could only think of to do, lowering his head, his rough lips pressed gently against yours and his hands sliding to cup your face. You were so soft in his hard life.
This time Curtis didn't demand you to open for him, he waited, the top of his tongue tracing the seam to be allowed in. The action spun your head, and immediately the tickle enticed your lips apart, allowing him to tangle his tongue with yours. Pressing you back as Curtis continued forward, you fell back into the mess of the bed, Curtis moving over you while never breaking the kiss till you had to pull away to draw in a breath. But he didn't stall, bringing his mouth down to your jawline and the curve of your neck, pressing his knee in between your thighs so he could slot his hips there to press his weight over you.
A while ago you learned how pointless it was to fight against him and now at this point maybe you no longer wanted to. He could give you mindless pleasure, let you forget the mess of your existence for just a few moments if you just let him. Curtis’s fingers expertly plucking away at the ties of your pants and drawing them down, muttering for you to lift yourself which you listened to, raising your hips under him while dragging your palms to brace against his back, digging in your fingers through the layers of his clothing to hold onto him.
“Do you promise Curtis? I don't care what happens to me anymore. But this baby, Wilford cant have. Please promise me.” You gasped slightly under him as you felt his fingers start to stroke you, seeking for you to open once more for him. Arousal pooling with each expert touch heated you to a warmth that couldn't be found any other way. He dragged your shirt over your head, kissing against the top of your breasts and drawing a nipple into his mouth to suck between his teeth while you started to wither at the sensations he was drawing out of you.
“I promise Y/N, you just focus on growing our baby, m’kay?” He grunted as his hand covered your fluttering belly, not yet round or even showing. But knowing it was in there and for once he was going to get to see it all happen stirred something in Curtis. Something he never wanted or cared for before. Flicks of his tongue traced around your nipples, the warmth of his mouth was such a contrast to the coolness in the air, it drew out these soft little gasps that delighted the man.
Your hips started to rock into his hand while he started to finger you, stroking velvet walls while he lifted his head to watch your reactions. Always so expressive, you fisted your hands in his shirt while your head tilted into the pillows with a soft whimper, knowing that you were close. Curtis was rewarded when your eyes glazed over and warmth flooded his hand while you clamped around him. “Good Girl, don't hold back.” He praised you while tilting down to kiss you slowly, swallowing the aftermath of your orgasm, the tiny whimpers of his name and your pleas for him to finish.
How badly you wanted him to finish in you now.
Curtis pulled back to yank his shirt off and shove his pants down enough to release his cock, stroking himself over you. Your eyes lowered to watch him and for the first time ever, you reached to wrap your hand around his length. “Oh shit Y/N.” His voice stuttered when you squeezed slightly. He hunched over you, falling to his elbow while you pressed him between your swollen folds, looking up at him with a bite to your lip.
“Promise me Curtis.”
Blue eyes that were once so damn harsh and cold towards you simmered heatedly. You didn't know how you could ever think of them as cold as they sharpened with desire. Curtis pressed his forehead to yours for a moment, whispering. “On my life Y/N.”
You gave a slight nod at his answer and his mouth pressed against yours as he started to press into you. The stretch had you gasping though, wrapping a hand around the back of his neck and pulling him down to press your mouth back to his, his hands held onto the side of your head as he started rocking his hips, dragging himself in deep to the place only he has ever been. Dragging against your sensitive walls, you wrapped yourself around him while placing kisses against his mouth, gasping whenever he dropped his weight on you and speared back into your heat.
With everything going on, you let yourself enjoy being with him. The push and pull, the feel of his heavier body pressing yours into the bedding beneath. His heavy length filling you till you were clamping around him to keep him there.
Your fingers curled into his neck, twisting into the short hairs at the back of his head, and Curtis continued pressing harder grunting kisses against your shoulder, his hands curling around under your arms and grasping your shoulders to hold you close as his hips ground into you, his pelvis pressing against your clit.
The rush of it all, the feeling of him kissing you so passionately while he kept claiming you to spiral under him was so much. A cold fire in your belly and the flutters in you turned to clamping, trying to hold him to you while you came.
“That's right sweet girl, just let it happen.” He grunted once more when your body under him locked, twitching as you dug into the back of his neck and your knees gripped his hips to rock with him. His hand loosened on your shoulder and pressed between your bodies, his palm slightly pressing against your stomach to feel how full you were from him and then fell between your bodies to rub your clit to bring you to arousal again.
“Curtis-” You whined and he nudged your head back, sucking on your neck, pressing faster.
“One more, that's it. I know it feels good.” He hissed feeling you buck underneath him. “Feel s’good, right?”
You nodded your head hurriedly while he played you so expertly, all those other times he had grown to learn what made you wither and whine for him, the only man to ever make you feel like this. Which after the stress of the day, you needed to go mindless. “So-so good.”
Nip of teeth with a touch of his tongue, had you arching, the room filled with the harsh sounds of his body colliding with yours and the squeak of the mattress underneath you. Your toes curled and you sobbed out, dropping your hand to cover your mouth to keep your orgasm from bouncing off the metal walls, but he jerked your hand down, filling your mouth with his tongue. Harsh thrusts turned to grind out his own release, warmth flooding you in an all to familiar pleasure.
You dug fingers into his shoulders and dragged him over you, quivering underneath him while pressing your face into his chest, willing your heart to start to slow while his rat-a-tat-tat rapidly in his own chest, deep inhales expanding his chest and pushing you into the mattress while he gasped for air. Curtis went to move, but you clutched tighter. “Dont, please not yet.”
Reaching underneath him, he pushed to an elbow and fisted his hand in your hair gently to pull your head away to look up at him. “I'm not, just be patient Y/N.”
Curtis eased down enough so he wasn't smothering you, but could lay his head on your chest, his arms looped around your midsection. His hips kept your thighs pinned underneath him and his belly pressed against your waist, keeping you under him.
“Soon I won't be able to lay like this on you, you know.” He pointed out after a few minutes and you slipped your hand tentative over his scalp and along the back of his neck. Another first he thought to himself while he closed his eyes to enjoy the way you were willingly touching him.
“I know… I actually never knew I liked the way it felt.” You admitted, having always pulled away from him before after they finished.
Curtis didn’t either, sex had always been a means to an end, there was no intimacy really in it for him. It was a necessity to survive, so he never allowed himself to enjoy it like this, it was simply good in the moment and when it was over, it was over. It never really occurred to him that it could be this simple moment of bliss. But feeling the softness of your body just cradle him so easily, your warmth envelops him into a lull of relaxation. Well, maybe he could get used to feeling this way.
Feeling this way with you.
“Curtis… I have to get up.” You said after a while with what he hoped was regret in your voice. Planting his hands against the mattress, he pulled himself off to lay at the side while you shifted out from under him to sit on the edge of the bed and reach down to grab something to cover yourself with.
“Why do you do that? Cover yourself?” He asked, while you slipped the shirt over your head so that it pooled down around your thighs. You glanced over your shoulder, where he laid stretched out, comfortable in his own skin.
“Why wouldn't I? It's not like I'm anything special Curtis. Also it's safer in the tail end to not get noticed.” You said while pulling to a stand and disappearing in the bathroom. Curtis frowned to himself, he could understand not getting noticed, but the other he couldn't agree with. He was still genuinely surprised that you were a virgin when you were brought to him.
When you came back out, running your hands over your shirt and moving to crawl back in the bed, Curtis reached over and grasped your chin in his forefinger and thumb. “That's not true Y/N.”
You blinked at him wide eyed, confused in such an innocent way. The corners of his mouth tugged a bit seeing you blink at him owlishly. “What's not true?” You wriggled into the dip in the mattress you had left earlier.
“You claim you're not anything special. You are beautiful Sweetheart. Especially now that your health is returning. I'm not the only one to notice.” His fingers loosened and trailed along your cheeks that were filling out and were always so warm against his fingertips.
You huffed a bit and your eyes went downcast while settling back in the bedding. “I don't know if that is a good thing.” You wrinkled your nose and Curtis reached over to let his hand settle on your stomach.
“You are not going anywhere.”
First Trimester
Changes started so subtly. One morning your stomach turned at the sight of eggs Curtis brought that had you sprinting to the bathroom and over the toilet. You grasped the sides as you gagged over it, and Curtis cussed while placing the tray down, following you in to stand behind you, pulling hair back and rubbing your back. Once you stopped gasping and fell back to sit on your ankles, he let go of you and went to the bathroom sink to fill a cup with some water for you to clear your mouth with. Taking it, you swished some water and spat it out before handing it back to Curtis. “Thank you.”
“What was it?” He questioned while giving the cup a rinse and reached down to help you to stand.
“Uhh, the eggs maybe?” You took a deep breath just thinking about it and felt your stomach roll again while moving to the sink and grabbed the tooth brush.
“Want me to get rid of them?”
“Can you Curtis?”
He gave a smile and rubbed your back once before exiting the bathroom, giving you some privacy. Going back out, you saw the offending pile of eggs was gone. Alot of it was trial and error. You soon learned that you had a constant craving for milk as well, which Curtis was sure to start adding to all the meals he brought you.
You craved back rubs and shoulder rubs, which Curtis was good at you found out. As well as being so tired. All the time. You took several naps throughout the day, which at first you apologized for. Curling up in bed to sit whenever Curtis caught you dozing off. One day with a sketch pad stretched out before him, making lazy swipes with his pencil, he gave a shake of his head. “Sleep. You have to listen to your body and right now you are growing a person, no wonder you are tired.” When you started to protest by throwing the blankets off you, Curtis gave you a hard stare till you sunk back down, blinking back at him.
“You are being serious.”
“Aren't I always Y/N? Finish your nap.” He said curtly and went back to his sketch. The sun heated through the glass and the beams fell over you, lulling you back to sleep. When you woke up later, Curtis was gone. But his notepad was left, which when you got up, you leaned over it to see what he had been working on.
A sketch of you stretched out in bed, your hair falling around your sleeping face. You could tell he had been practicing his shading as he did it from several angles, and one where you had rolled to your hip, sure to focus on your hand pressing against the slight bump you had.
When he came back, Curtis would offer to take you around the train as long as you weren't tired. At first you declined, worried about further run-ins with people like Grey, New Years Eve not far from your mind. But the more times he offered and you grew restless, you took him up on the offer.
The greenhouse car was one you always looked forward to, the natural lighting in it for the vegetation soaking into your body, the air felt fresh from the plants and you would wander the aisles to attempt to learn from the greenhouse workers what they were growing. Curtis simply watched as you started to get braver, ask questions and help with the weeding, just wanting to feel the dirt.
One day you two were sitting under the trees, Curtis nodding off in the warmth, and you were reading a new book out loud to him when you eased the book shut.
“Curtis? I need some water.” You mentioned and his eyes snapped open, pulling himself up to sit. You would have just gone yourself to get it, but you knew he wouldn't allow that. So you stayed there while he pushed to a stand.
“How about a snack to? You haven't eaten much today and I saw them picking the cherry tomatoes when we first came in.” He inquired.
Giving a nod, he soon dipped out of the aisle to get what you asked for and you tilted your head back to relax against the tree trunk. But your peaceful moment was short lived. A shadow passed over you and a snickering voice taunted you to spring your eyes open and pull your legs back. “Well well well, Curtis left his little pet to wander around all alone?” Grey moved to a squat in front of you, a few of his friends crowding around behind him, all leering down at you while you tried to shrink away. Your tongue swelled up, unable to speak. When Grey reached a hand out to touch you, you pulled further away.
“Don’t.” You finally were able to say, causing him to jerk his head back and laugh deeply at your attempt to put space between you two.
“Oh you shouldn't be scared of me, I was your friend on New Years remember? Curtis is the one who beat you, not me.”
You folded your arms around your legs to hold yourself away from him, but Grey wasn't allowing you to shrink away too much, his hand moving to touch your knee, grinning at the way you jerked. “Don't touch me.”
Grey shuffled closer, the men behind him closing in further till the space of the greenhouse seemed to no longer exist.
“You're like a little unsoiled dove, so innocent in all this. I promise you though once I take you, you won't be able to play this act anymore.” Grey said coldly, his gaze glinting with promise as it raked over your face. He was close enough to feel his hot sour breath washing over your face.
The tension stretched between you two and you felt like you were going to snap when a low deep voice came from behind. “Step the fuck back from her.” The group parted enough to show Curtis striding closer the handful of cherry tomatoes in his palm crushed to drip the juices and seeds from between his fingers and the tin cup of water sloshing over the edge as he sped up, pushing past the others to grasp the back of Grey's collar and fling him back. Grey easily straightened, pulling an innocent look as Curtis moved to block you from them. You scrambled to get up, using the back of his shirt to pull yourself to a stand and stay behind him. A barrier between you and Grey.
“I thought I told you not to go near her again?” Curtis’s rage was laced in his tone and Grey shrugged a bit.
“Just saying hello Curtis, I missed seeing your girl since the party.” You eased around Curtis a bit and Grey caught sight of you, aiming a wink towards you. “Till next time Y/N.”
You pressed in behind Curtis, your gaze looking down the aisle to see members of the greenhouse take interest. From afar it would appear to be just a passing of words, and the tremors going through Curtis told you how he was holding back from attacking Grey. If he did, it would all seem unprovoked, Curtis words and yours against Grey and his crowd. It wouldn't end good for Curtis.
Curtis watched long enough to make sure they were out of sight and turned swiftly towards you, wiping his hand against his jacket till the tomato residue was off his palms and touched your face afterwards, tilting you to look up at him. “He didn’t touch you did he?”
A firm shake no answered him and he offered the mug of water which you tilted back to calm your nerves and moisten your mouth. “No Curtis, not really.”
“Son of a bitch.” He clenched his hand at his side, looking over his shoulder again and you reached to press your hand to his chest, bringing his focus back on you.
“Let’s just leave here, please?” Last thing you wanted was Curtis’s anger to sit with him the rest of the day.
He took a deep breath to let it settle in his chest before turning to you blinking up at him and part of him softened. “Come on… Got somewhere else you might like to see.” Wrapping an arm around you, you followed along with him as you two made your way out of the gardens aisle. Your fingers played at his sleeve nervously as you glanced behind once more, but Grey was nowhere to be seen. The silver train door whooshed and crossed into another threshold. Once it closed behind you, you turned your focus to the area Curtis had taken you.
It was filled with wild greenery, and the echoes of songbird calls bounced off the towering glass of the train's ceiling. Your lips split into a grin when you stepped from Curtis hold, your gaze lifted to see brilliant colored birds darting around one another. “I remember coming through here when I was brought to the front, what is its purpose?”
“An aviary, the last birds on earth that we know of.” Curtis informed you, his head tilting back to look up in the treetops crowding against the glass of the train, straining for freedom that would forever be denied them from growing to their full size.
Curtis watched your child like wonder as birds filtered down to land on you, tiny trills and warbles inquiring as they inspected you. You stretched out your arms for other curious birds, hoping down to peck at your palm looking for food. You happened to giggle with the ticklish feeling and to Curtis it was far better then all the songbirds in the aviary.
You were such a light in Curtis’s life now. These kinds of moments where you seemed to forget that you were held against your will but found a reason to laugh, your eyes bright when they looked at him and you danced into a small circle, the birds lifting off of you in a flurry of cries and wings, so you could come back to him excitedly. Curtis couldn't believe that he once saw you as a job, something he had to tolerate.
Now he didn't want anyone else sharing his space with him.
“There were so many Curtis! I didn't know there could be that many on the train…” Your hands fluttered back and forth with your words, rambling about how much you loved the moment, thanking Curtis for bringing you when he cupped your face, his thumbs brushing over your cheeks and his eyes bright while looking at you. It paused you in surprise as his head lowered against yours and pressed his mouth against yours. This was a different kiss then any he's given you before.
But this was a gentleness that was asking permission, his hold cradling and gentled, slightly rough lips easily pressing against yours and the tip of his tongue just swiping as in a way of saying ‘Please?’
Your hands braced against his chest and slid around behind him, allowing him to swipe in and roll his tongue with yours, pulling you in closer to him till your body was flushed with his own, his hold sliding from your cheeks and sliding down your back. When the two of you parted, foreheads leading against one another, panting slightly.
That kiss simply took the air from your lungs and you could feel it meant something more this time.
More than being forced together or trying to comfort. This one had something behind it. Part of it scared you that maybe this man meant more to you then he had before.
Second Trimester
You sat on the edge of the bed, a hand braced against the curve of your stomach, waiting. Curtis was nearby, nose in a book but he noticed that you had moved up to sit. A curious glance looked over the spine of the book. “Whats going on?” He questioned as you sighed a bit, sliding your hand to another spot, scrunching your nose.
“He was just moving, I swear he was getting ready to kick.” you looked down at your now protruding belly, rolling your shirt up enough to slide your palm against it. “But feels like he has settled down.” Curtis chuckled softly and set the book aside on the table, moving to kneel on the floor before you and ease his hand around the sides, exploring for himself.
“That's because he's decided to treat his mama well.”
You snort a bit and roll your eyes. “More like he's saving it for tonight when I'm trying to sleep.”
Curtis smirked a bit, and rested his hands against your thighs, winking at you. “Well he does take after his dad.”
You shoved at his shoulder with a scoff, leaving Curtis laughing heartily while falling back to rest on his ankles looking up at you. Moments like these he seemed so boyish, his laugh was genuine and rare. But the longer you two lived together, the more you got to hear it. It was a pleasant sound, one that seemed to make you forget for a moment that you two were stuck together in a glorified prison. “We keep calling him he, do you think he is a he?”
Curtis shrugged a bit. “Honestly, boy or girl doesn't matter to me. But yea...I think it's a boy. Just feels right when I think of seeing him for the first time.” He admitted admiring the glimpse of skin showing where your shirt had ridden up.
It was also easier letting him see more of you. It probably helps that during your pregnancy, you had cravings. Serious cravings.
Which even now started to curl in your lower belly and clench your thighs slightly under his hands that still rested against them. He felt it and arched a curious brow as you shyly looked away as if distracted. But he knew, he shuffled in closer and slid his palms warmly back up to your belly. “You know you just have to ask.”
Caught. You knew you were caught and you shifted slightly, twisting your fingers together. “I don't wanna ask though. I mean it's not like your job to have to anymore.”
“Y/N- will you just lay back? You want it and I don't mind giving it.” He instructed, pressing you to lay back on the bed, leaving your legs dangling over the edge of the bed. His hands grasped in the band of your shorts and started to draw them down to leave your lower half naked and you folded your hands together to rest on your stomach, looking down your body to watch Curtis.
“You may not mind, but I still don't want you to feel like you gotta.” You rambled on as he brushed his chin against the top of your thighs to nudge them apart and drew one leg up over his shoulder, brushing a kiss to the inside of your knee. “Your damn kid is making me horny, but I have other ways to handle it whenever-”
Curtis rolled his eyes in amusement to your rambling. Honestly he would be happy taking care of you like this, seeing you pregnant was driving him crazy with want. Knowing he made you need him so much, be able to take care of you and see you satisfied in his bed. Right now nothing was better than seeing you post orgasm bliss. You were still going on above him, but he stopped listening, his goal now to make you forget about feeling guilty for wanting him. Flushing kisses up your thigh and he brought the other one over his shoulder, he heard his name while he dragged the tip of his nose through your curls and to your folds that were starting to glisten with arousal.
“Are you listening, Curtis?” you voiced above him and he snickered a bit while spreading your folds apart and lapping along your quivering cunt, hearing your question turn into a gentle moan.
“I was, but now I'm not Darling, because honestly eating you out is my main priority right now.” He lapped again, sucking on your outer folds and was rewarded with another gasp above him and your hand falling to his head, curling your fingers against his scalp.
“Do that again?” You breathed out and you felt his tongue curl through you once more, just making you pulse and arousal seep from you that he was quick to collect with a growl as he sucked on you. You let your eyes close and mind clear to just the sensations he was creating in you. His fingers massaged the tense muscles inside your thighs as he looped his arms over the top of your thighs and spread them just a bit wider, burying his face in between your legs. He found your clit and proceeded to tease it in just that way that had you arching your hips for him and whimpering into your shoulder till you couldn't keep quiet anymore.
“Oh god Curtis… Curtis…” You started chanting his name while he played with you, continued pressing his tongue in all those places that made your core clench and thighs quiver and strain in his hold trying to clasp around his ears.
“Just let it happen Y/N, why are you holding back?” He teased you, the graze of his cheeks scratching along the inside of your thighs that he released so they clasped around his head and your hands started to press his face into your center. He plunged his tongue into you, teasing your fluttering walls till they were driving you blissed out, rocking into his face till you finally did as he said, letting go and letting your orgasm wash over you till you were floating happily in pleasure, a sigh escaping you as your toes curled into his shoulders then they collapsed over his back, humming out your bliss.
Curtis rolled his shoulders to let your legs fall off, one last lap through your core and a kiss to the top of your mound before he sat back and massaged your thighs till the tension seeped through them. Planting his hands on the mattress to pull to a stand, looming over you as he pushed your shirt up to kiss the curve of your belly.
“Better?” He asked as he fell to the other side of the bed, his hand massaging your hip, the other hand running through his beard and you slid an eye open to see him watching you for an answer.
“Thank you, he's settled down.” Your hand slid over your curve and he mimicked your touch, feeling for himself.
“Perhaps he decided taking a nap was better than being aware of his parents intimate time.” He teased and you covered your face in embarrassment, sighing.
“You are terrible Curtis.”
He snorted with a grin while pushing up to a stand. “That I am. Alright, time for me to go to the gym. Do you need anything before I go Y/N?”
You shook your head while pushing up to a stand yourself and brushing past Curtis to reach into the little fridge to grab an apple. “Nah, I'm good. Afterwards do you think we could go walking somewhere? My back has been killing me and the baths are not helping so much anymore. Walking around seems to help though.”
He gathered what he needed while nodding. “Sure, we will do that when I get back.” Curtis promised before heading out, and you plopped down in the seat he occupied earlier, easing back a bit and picking up the book he had been engrossed with earlier, looking to see where he was. Taking bites of the apple, you suddenly felt the baby start to wriggle again, and this time he gave the kicks you were expecting earlier.
“Oh now you wanna be a wriggler. Apparently your father was wrong, you have been awake.” You chuckled a bit while settling back.
Tumblr media
A whoosh of doors announced Wilford as he stepped into the enclosed space off the engine. Humming to himself as his eyes glanced over the screens to different sections of the train. Everyone was right where they needed to be, his eyes glinted gleefully appreciating the order of Snowpiercer. Everything so wonderfully balanced, just as it always has been. He was there god, giving them life. Each one he looked at was absolutely perfect, all constructed by him. Wilford viewed them as stories, each one he could maneuver in the way he wanted. Settling down in his seat, he twisted his chair towards his prize tv screen, the biggest and clearest one.
On the screen was a black and white version of Curtis’s room. So far Wilford had let you and Curtis have moments of domesticity. Let you two get comfortable, sure that your lives were going to continue being peaceful.
Wilford grinned coldly while leaning forward to trace a finger over your form sitting in the chair, singing to your belly.
“That's right Dear… you keep on taking care of my baby so sweetly. You will be the perfect mother to my son.”

Aftermath
A whole summer later, and Mabel's still having nightmares about being trapped in her bubble. One unfortunate morning, Ford just happens to be the one who overhears her crying in her sleep.
Notes:
A huge, huge shout out to @ariasofelegance
A little white ago I reblogged a silly post that said something like "come into my inbox and tell me what my writing brand is", and without hesitating she dragged me into the dirt. Got me so on the nose that it backfired and whoops, I wanted to write it.
Said ask can be found here
Hope you’re happy with the results, Rin ;)

It’s the sound of sugary pop music seemingly wafting in through her bedroom window that wakes Mabel first. She assumes it’s just an alarm she doesn’t remember setting, and frantically waves her arm out for her nightstand so she can turn it off and go back to sleep for another minute or ten.
Then it’s the fact that her hand smacks something that squeaks, and okay, maybe Waddles accidentally left one of his toys in her room. He’s got plenty, so she can shrug off that as long as it’s not his favorite then he can go another few minutes without it. She’ll bring it downstairs to him when she wakes up, or if Dipper rises before her he can bring it downstairs instead.
It’s fine. She can brush those things off, and to prove it to herself she turns over on her other side and brings her blanket up to cover her ears. If anyone needs her they’re gonna have to climb the stairs all the way up to the attic and tell her themselves. She smiles to herself at the thought, and settles easily back into her sleep.
It doesn’t really click that something’s…off until the sun shines in through her window. Despite knowing that she’s facing away from her window, the sunlight still pierces through Mabel’s blanket and lands right into her eyes. Even for the mid-summer Oregon sun she’s gotten accustomed to, it’s uncomfortably warm and unreasonably bright for so early in the morning.
…Stranger still, she’s sure that Dipper would’ve already complained about it before she did, or at the very least, she’s sure she already would’ve heard him shuffling around the room by now.
Mabel takes it to mean that he must already be awake and downstairs, and groans. It still doesn’t explain why the sun is so painful in her eyes, but she guesses that could be a result of her sleeping in later than she’s used to.
“Alright, universe, you got me” Mabel mumbles, and stretches as she finally pushes herself into a sitting position. Opening her eyes is a bit tougher with the sun still harshly shining into them, but it’s manageable, and…
…This doesn’t look like the attic.
She attempts to rub the sleep out of her eyes, in case she’s still not fully awake yet, but no, the image in front of her still doesn’t change. She’s about to try standing up to see if walking around will help snap her out of her haze, but before she can even kick her feet over the edge her bedroom door swings open.
“Oh, thank goodness!” Mabel sighs. “Can you close the window? I can’t see a thing”
“Sure thing, Miss Mabel!” a cheery voice that is decidedly not Dipper’s replies, and with a snap of their fingers the lights go out. Now that her eyes finally adjust, Mabel’s able to glance around her room, and…
Oh no.
Oh no no no no no no no.
There are stone statues of her face in every corner of her room, piles of rainbow plushies stacked all over the floor, a collage of sweaters all over the wall, inflatable furniture scattered everywhere, and most notably, a large rug with a bright shooting star embroidered into the center.
“Miss Mabel?” the strange voice asks again, and a bright pink hippo steps into view towards her bed. “Is everything okay?”
Mabel frantically scoots backwards in her strange bed. “Stay back!” she tries to shout, but everything comes out as more of a panicked waver. “Stay back or I’ll grapple hook you in the face!” she frantically pats all around her body for any sign of her trusty weapon.
The hippo tilts its head in confusion, a squeak emerging from it. “Oh, Miss Mabel, you’re a riot! Don’t you remember?”
Mabel freezes in her frantic patting. “Remember what?”
The strange hippo laughs. “Our volleyball match! You promised you’d play with me, but then you took a suuuper long nap instead!”
Mabel shakes her head. It can’t be. It can’t be. She knows Dipper already came to rescue her, she knows they already took the bus back to Piedmont together, she knows they promised to stick together through thick and thin.
Or…did they? What if that was all part of this sick fantasy too? What if Bill just made her believe that Dipper came to her aid, when he’s actually been captured, or hurt, or worse, and Bill is still pacifying her for as long as he can to keep Weirdmageddon going?
She can’t breathe. She tugs at the collar of her turtleneck, but that only makes things worse, because it’s not until she notices the hot pink of her collar that she realizes she’s wearing her shooting star sweater. She wants to rip it off and claw at it until it comes apart thread by thread.
“M-Miss Mabel?”
She has to get out of here.
“Of course!” she replies, just to avoid suspicion. “Let’s go play some volleyball!” She claps loudly, and the pink hippo grins, seemingly unfazed by her behavior.
“Great!” it beams, and bounces happily out the door. Mabel follows more slowly, casting nervous glances everywhere she looks for any signs of creeping yellow eyes.
“Oh, shoot!” the hippo shouts once they’re outside, and Mabel nearly jumps a mile out of her skin.
“What is it?”
“We don’t have enough players,” the hippo pouts. “I can go see if I can find anyone who-”
“No!” Mabel shouts, and a few beachgoers freeze to cast glances her way. She blushes, and tries again. “I...I mean, we could always get my brother to play with us! Where’s my good ol’ twin brother?”
For the briefest of moments the hippo’s eyes flash yellow, but they’re back to normal just as quickly.
“Over here, sis!” Dippy Fresh waves, approaching them on his skateboard.
Mabel steps back, shaking her head. “Where’s my real twin brother?”
The crowd of beachgoers begins murmuring uncomfortably to each other.
“Aww, c’mon sis, don’t be like that!” he grins, jumping off of his skateboard and taking a step closer.
“You’re not my real brother” she hisses. “None of this is real! I know it isn’t!”
She’s shouting now, but she doesn’t care. “Come out and face me yourself, Bill! I know you’re out there! I don’t want to take part in this sick fantasy anymore!”
Everyone around her gasps, and between one breath and the next she’s painfully tackled to the ground.
“Mabel Pines!” an unfamiliar voice shouts, mixed seamlessly with the shrill echo of Bill’s. “Not only have you broken the one and only law of Mabeland, you have also spoke up in defiance of Bill Cipher, the true creator of this land. A simple court trial will not be enough. For these transgressions, you will be taken straight to the Fearamid for proper punishment”.
Mabel’s face pales. “W-wait! I was only just kidding!” She pleas, but a strong pair of arms is already lifting her into the air. She kicks and thrashes, but no matter how much she fights back, more pairs of hands seem to grab onto her and keep her in place.
“No!” she shouts. “I’m sorry! I won’t do it again, I promise! I’ll do anything you guys want! I’ll never leave you again!”
“It’s too late!” Bill’s voice finally separates itself from the crowd, and he manifests himself in front of her. He lifts her into the air, and she starts thrashing even harder, but nothing she’s doing is working to free herself from her grip.
At the very back of her mind, she thinks she can hear someone shouting her name. But she’s sure that’s all just part of the illusion, that Bill’s using the sound of her own family against her to torture her one last time before she never sees them again, and-
Something brushes against her forehead.
Something soft, and warm, and comforting, and so humanlike compared to everything else around her that it’s enough to make the every single aspect of the illusion disappear into thin air all at once, even Bill himself.
Everything’s black, and then, with a blink of her eyes, she’s staring into Ford’s eyes, soft and loving and pooling with worry. It doesn’t take long for her to piece together that it’s his hand on her forehead.
“Mabel?” he asks, and she realizes quickly that it had been his voice shouting her name in the bubble.
She gasps, bolting upright, and does her best to recover her breathing. Ford doges out of the way to avoid smacking heads, but stays right where he is beside her, rubbing soothing little circles into her back.
Her throat hurts. She must’ve been shouting in her sleep. She wants to cry, but she can’t even do that right, because  the moment a sob tries to escape her throat her chest feels like it’s closing up, and she can’t take a breath anymore, no matter how much air she inhales.
“It’s okay,” Ford whispers to her. “Deep breaths”
Mabel shakes her head. “I…I can’t”
“Yes you can,” he replies, firmly but kindly. He scooches closer to her, slowly as not to re-startle her. “Mabel, look at me”
She does. His eyes are so soft, conveying so many grounding, human emotions that the single moment of eye contact alone is almost enough to completely ground her back to reality. “You’re okay,” he murmurs, once she’s finally able to maintain eye contact without her eyes trembling. “You’re awake, I promise” he offers his hands out to her. “Reach out and squeeze my hands if you need to, but I promise that I really am right here”
Mabel reaches out and takes his hands in her own. They’re so much bigger than hers, and they’re rough with calluses and there’s quill ink stuck under his nails, but they’re so comfortably the hands of her great uncle, all the way down to the extra sixth finger on each hand that the sob stuck in her throat finally breaks its way through. He’s not just another illusion, he’s not a perfect copy that Bill sent to keep her complacent, he’s just…Grunkle Ford.
Mabel throws herself into his arms as her sobs overwhelm her small body. She buries her face into the collar of his turtleneck, and forces her eyes to focus on a little loose strand sticking out at the back of his neck. It’s just a tiny little imperfect detail that could easily be snipped or sewn back into place, but a little imperfection like that to let her know she’s home is more comforting than she’s willing to admit.
Ford wraps his arms around her and holds her closely. He gently runs a hand through her hair, whispering I know and it’s okay over and over again into her hair, and she just buries her whole face into the crook of his neck, inhaling the scent of coffee and ash and ink coming from his sweater like it’s a lifeline.
She stays in his embrace until her sobs finally calm, and they pull away gently. She wipes at her nose with her wrist.
“I’m sorry”
Ford shakes his head. “You’ve got nothing to apologize for, dear. I know firsthand just how awful it feels to suffer through a panic attack alone”.
Alone?
She glances to the other side of the bedroom, and finds Dipper’s bed empty. Her heart drops to her stomach. “Wh-where’s..?” she starts, but Ford places a gentle hand on her shoulder before she can finish that train of thought.
“Dipper’s okay, he’s outside with Soos”
“Grunkle Stan?”
“He ran out to the store, but he’s okay too”
Mabel buries her face into her hands. “You didn’t…come in here because you could hear me from downstairs, did you?”
Ford shakes his head, a fond smile itching to spread across his face. “I came upstairs when I’d heard you were still asleep and didn’t want my favorite niece to miss out on such a beautiful morning,” he pauses, the smile on his face vanishing just as quickly as it had appeared. “But then when I came in to wake you up, you looked like you were having a panic attack in your sleep, and…” his voice trails off. “You started…crying out names.” He winds a protective arm around her shoulder, and gently squeezes her arm. “I’d never want to make you recount something so awful, but if you want to talk about it, I’m not going anywhere anytime soon”
Mabel sighs. It isn’t even close to being the first dream she’s had about the bubble, so she should be used to all of these strange feelings by now. But this particular dream felt the most based in reality, and it’s the first time Bill’s actually shown up and threatened to hurt her to her face.
She returns his gesture, winding an arm around Ford’s back and giving his arm a gentle squeeze. She scooches just a tiny bit closer to him and rests her head on his shoulder. “I…” she begins, squeezing her eyes shut to brace herself. “I was trapped in Mabeland again. Except it wasn’t like all the other times I’ve had nightmares about it where I knew something was off and I hit the ground running as soon as I realized where I was, it was more like…I felt like I’d always been there.”
With her free hand, Mabel brings the collar of her sweater all the way up to her nose. Anything to distract her from her uncle’s worried expression burning into her. “It was like everything we did last summer was for nothing. I woke up in my bed in the castle, and everyone was acting like it was peachy keen. I tried asking someone about where Dipper was, just for some sense of normalcy, but all that did was summon that dumb clone Mabeland created of him so I wouldn’t get too lonely. I know it’s dumb, but the whole thing just felt…too real. Like I was still stuck there, and the apocalypse was still going on out here, and the whole rescue mission was just a sick dream that Bill put in my head to trick me into believing everything was okay”
Mabel squishes her face into Ford’s sweater and just forces herself to focus on his scent, on the soft material of his sweater, on the gentle pattern of his breathing. “Everything was ripped away from me, Grunkle Ford, and I couldn’t do a thing about it. I tried speaking up for myself, but that only made things worse, because Bill showed up, and he-”
She’s suddenly painfully aware that she’s trembling again, and can’t help the tears building in her eyes. She tries burying her face even further into Ford’s sweater to collect herself and keep going, but before she can she feels Ford’s hand at the back of her head, gently holding her in place as she cries.
“It’s okay,” he tells her, his voice a soothing presence among her racing thoughts. “You don’t have to keep going.” He’s back to gently petting her hair, and the gesture is consistent and familiar enough to ease Mabel’s crying. “I’m so sorry that you’re still having nightmares about this”.
“It’s okay,” she sniffles, and finally finds the strength to pull herself away from his sweater. “It’s not your fault”, she says, and her eyes drop to the hardwood floor of her bedroom. “I’m just so scared, Grunkle Ford.” She grips onto the edges of her skirt. “I know that I shouldn’t be, because I know Bill’s been gone for a year and I know everything’s okay now, but I just can’t help but feel that everything’s not.”
Ford nods solemnly, and for a moment he doesn’t respond, until he shifts in his sitting position so he’s facing directly towards Mabel rather than beside her. “Mabel, may I show you something?”
Mabel blinks, her head tilting slightly in confusion. “Sure, Grunkle Ford, what is it?”
Ford rolls the sleeves of his turtleneck up to his elbows. His wrists are covered in faded white slits, and the rest of his arms are covered in burn scars, scratches, gashes, and decades-old bruises that never healed properly. Some of them are still red and blistering, and others look so faded that she could just as easily mistake them for birthmarks.
It hurts Mabel’s heart just to look at them. Her hands hover cautiously over them, and she glances at the wonderful great uncle that they’re attached to. “C-can I…?”
He nods. “Sure.”
Mabel gently runs her fingers along each of them so lightly that it’s almost as if she isn’t touching them at all. She knows that he’d been hurt in the past, and she knows that it couldn’t have been easy roughing it out in the multiverse for thirty consecutive years, but it breaks her heart to see the evidence of it all up close.
“I know what you’re thinking,” Ford sighs, cutting into her thoughts. “But most of these don’t come from the portal” he pauses to rub at the back of his head. “Or, rather, they do, but not in the way that you probably think”
Mabel pauses. “What do you mean?”
“I mean…sometime after Bill betrayed my trust, but before I was able to get the metal plate in my head to keep him out, he’d take advantage of our deal that let him into my mind whenever he pleased,” he taps at his forehead. “He was furious that I shut down the portal, so any time I fell asleep he’d use the opportunity to hurt me as much as he could. He never wanted to kill me because he was convinced I’d change my mind in due time, but he felt the need to torture me so I’d never act against him again. He’d slit my wrists, he’d burn me, he’d do just about everything he could to make sure I could feel the repercussions of his actions when I woke up.” He rubs awkwardly at the back of his head. “Thankfully he was never able to break a bone before I woke up in time to stop him, but…” he trails off, and for the briefest of moments he looks as though he’s lost in thought.
“I’m getting ahead of myself,” Ford blushes, snapping himself from his own thoughts before Mabel has any time to ask if he’s okay. “The point is,” he says, “Just because you know he’s gone now doesn’t mean that he never hurt you. Your nightmares are your scars, and they’re just as real as the scars under my sweater.”
Mabel wants to respond with a proper thank you, because she’s genuinely touched by the validation, but there’s a part of her that just can’t move past all the gashes and scars on Ford’s arms. She knows she’s seen similar cuts elsewhere, maybe not nearly as dire, but she knows in the back of her mind that’s just because she was just barely able to stop them from becoming much, much worse.
“I don’t think it’s just the nightmares” she mumbles, just barely loud enough for Ford to hear.
“Hmm?” Ford hums. “What do you mean?”
“I mean…” Mabel runs two fingers gently around the white scars on Ford’s wrist. “I don’t think it’s just that he hurt me, I think it’s that he hurt a lot of people that I love, too.” She shakes her head. “I know there isn’t a lot I could’ve done to prevent it, but…I was so oblivious to it, Grunkle Ford. I had no idea he was hurting so many people until it was almost too late”.
She keeps rubbing gentle circles into his wrist, like she can make the scars and all of the memories of the pain he went through vanish into thin air with her loving touch alone. “Dipper’s got these scars too. I know he’s okay now, but…” the sigh that escapes her is broken and shaky. “I know that much worse things could’ve happened to him, too”.
Ford frowns. “He…did tell me about being possessed, yes. But he also told me that he couldn’t have gotten his body back without your help. Bill’s a master at trickery, Mabel, it’s not your fault you couldn’t recognize him in Dipper’s body”.
…But she also knows that the reason Dipper was possessed in the first place is because he was up all night trying to crack a code that she told him she’d help him with, and she also knows that if she found out that it wasn’t Dipper controlling his body until it was too late, then…
“He wrote a letter”
The words slip out of her mouth before she can stop herself, and she slaps her hand over her mouth, tears building in her eyes again.
“Who did?” The soft smile slips off of Ford’s face. “Dipper?”
Mabel shakes her head. “Bill wrote a letter when he was still in possession of Dipper’s body. I’ve never shown it to Dipper before because I didn’t wanna freak him out, but I just…couldn’t bring myself to throw it away, because I was so afraid that if I did, Bill was going to find out, and wait until the moment my back was turned so he could…” her voice trails off, and she can’t finish the sentence no matter how badly she needs to get it off of her chest.
“Mabel?” Ford asks, his voice dripping with worry.
She shakes her head, and hops down from her bed to reach underneath. She grabs a seemingly useless crumped up piece of paper, and carefully unfolds it and pats down all the wrinkles before she offers it to Ford. “Before he could do this,” she replies, her voice barely rising above a whisper.
Ford takes the letter from her, and Mabel takes her seat back on the bed beside him. All she can bring herself to do is just watch as Ford’s expression becomes more and more horrified as he reads further down the letter, and the hurt in his eyes when he looks into hers when he finishes reading is palpable.
“I’m scared, Grunkle Ford” she repeats, her mouth continuing to speak before her brain can stop her. “I know Bill’s gone for good, but how can I be so sure that everything’s okay when I know that this is what he could’ve done to my brother?”
For a few painfully short moments Ford says nothing. Mabel’s sure he’s at a loss of words, or that it was a mistake showing him the letter because he’s freaking out now too, but much to her surprise  Ford’s next move is pulling her into his arms again and hugging her so tightly it’s as if he never wants to let go again.
“I’m so sorry,” he murmurs into her hair, but doesn’t give her enough time to respond before he keeps going. “Mabel, I’m so sorry you’ve been burdened with this. You’re the last person I would ever wish to feel so unsafe that you can’t even trust the quiet moments.”
His breathing sounds broken and shaky, but if he’s tearing up at all he’s doing a really good job at hiding it.  “You don’t deserve any of this. You’re too young to feel like you have any responsibilities over anyone’s life or death. I’m so sorry that he made you feel this way”
She knows he’s not the kind of person to use his words carelessly. She knows that he’s phrasing it this way because he recognizes his own behavior in her. She doesn’t respond verbally, but she reciprocates the hug best she can, and a heavy sigh escapes Ford when she does. They stay there in silence for a few short minutes, just reveling in the comfort and safety of the other’s arms.
When they finally pull away, Ford seems to have gathered his composure again.
“I promise, Mabel” he takes one of her hands into his own. “I promise you that he’s gone. He can never hurt you or me or Dipper or Stan ever again. It doesn’t mean he hasn’t, and it doesn’t mean that recovering from that sort of pain will be easy, but if there’s anything I know for sure, it’s that he’s never showing his face here again”.
Mabel finally crumbles in his arms. She’s sobbing again, but it’s a cathartic kind of sob, and she’s gripping onto Ford’s shoulders like he’s the only thing keeping her together.
“And even if he does, I know just the grappling hook to scare him away”.
Between her sobs, Mabel can’t help but giggle.

strangers again
summary: “hiiii sweetie!! can i request a steve x reader where he left yn for peggy. but he always felt guilty and missed yn. he would always stare at her pic. when he came back he bumped into yn while she was dropping a kid to daycare. and steve realized it was his son. kinda sad but fluff at the end pls!!!! and oh i super love your works!!! tysm 🌼🥺💕”
pairing: steve rogers x reader
warnings: decent angst, brief mention of a depressive episode, abandonment, somewhat unrealistic behavior
word count: 3.8k
author’s note:  i really hope that this lives up to your expectations but it is a little cheesy. i’d also like to warn that i have not interacted with a child in several years, so.. sorry. (there’s also a lot of exposition so double sorry if that’s not your thing!)
You’d never forget the moment Steve left to return the stones, with the promise to be back in only a matter of moments.
Maybe your definition of a matter of moments was different from his.
You seemed to be the only one without a clue of what Steve truly planned to do, with Bucky only telling you after the matter that Steve was leaving for the past and for Peggy, and probably not coming back.
After finding out, something deep within you broke. You could barely leave your bed for days, you struggled to eat, sleep, even drink water. Every task that used to seem like muscle memory, began to feel like it carried the weight of the world behind it. Every hobby that you once enjoyed becoming empty and bleak.
You constantly felt inadequate. How could you love someone so much, and be told you were loved so much while always being second to someone else?
The simple sentiment of it had left you feeling miserable, and sick to your stomach. Literally. Nearly every morning, and occasionally if you smelled something too strong, you found the contents of your stomach emptied.
You attempted to ignore it at first. Meshed with every other unpleasant symptom you were going through, you’d figured that it was just one more bullet point on the list of things that had been plaguing you. But when your friends insisted that you go check up with your doctor, you had a hard time saying no.
Once you received the results from your blood test, you were completely taken aback by the fact that you were pregnant. You couldn't believe that you hadn’t considered the possibility of pregnancy earlier.
Yet,  after a long and hard period of pondering, you managed to surprise yourself once again after you realized you wanted to keep it.
After all, that could be the only piece of Steve you had left.
----
You began to tell yourself that Steve was dead. That was somehow less painful than the idea that he left you for someone that he barely knew, yet had fallen so hard for nearly 70 years ago. You refused to let yourself fall for anyone else romantically, now that you were aware that anyone had the capacity to leave you at any time, no matter how deep you perceived your relationship to be.
You guarded your heart, and made sure to only let in those that you knew you could trust for a fact. For the remainder of your pregnancy, only your closest family members and friends stood by your side.
About 8 months later, you brought a small, but healthy infant into the world. From that moment on, you promised yourself to become the best version of yourself that you could be. No dwelling on the past, and no yearning for what could’ve been. Your only duty now was to provide the best life possible for your offspring.
So you did.
----
You stood in the kitchen, peeling an orange for your son before he bounded into the room. You turned and gave him a big grin, and he grinned back to you.
“Did you get dressed all by yourself?” You asked him excitedly, receiving a nod in return before he ran up to your leg, and hugged it.
“I did, Mommy!” He looked up at you with his soulful eyes, and you couldn’t help but to feel bombarded with emotion.
Even at the tender age of five, Grant seemed to become a bit more like his father every day. The shape of his eyes, the slope of his nose, the sound of his giggle. To the average onlooker, he came across as the same as any other child, but to you, your son was the splitting image of Steve.
“Good work, little man. Now go sit at the table so mommy can finish breakfast, okay?” He didn’t even bother confirming with you before more or less sprinting to the table. You couldn’t help but to ask yourself if your son had obtained all of that energy and speed from his father as well.
Breakfast was over almost as soon as it started, and before you knew it, you were warming up your car after you’d assisted Grant with brushing his teeth.
You were in an oddly nostalgic mood that day, playing music from a time period before you’d even imagined bringing another life into the world. You glanced up at the rearview mirror and watched your son happily bop his head to the beat. You thought in passing about how much of a gift he truly was.
After arriving at his school, you hopped out of the car and over to the furthest seat in the back, where he’d insisted on sitting that day.
“You ready, big guy?” You questioned while reaching out to grab him from the car seat.
“Born ready,” he agreed. You chuckled and shook your head fondly at that while getting him out of the car.
“Who taught you that?”
Grant shrugged, “I came up with it myself.”
“I’m sure. Can you hold my hand while we’re out please?” You reached out for him, and he gladly obliged.
You soon became distracted by a large man across the street, his built figure and light blonde hair making you recall the father of your child. You gave Grant’s hand a light squeeze and continued to approach the door, not being able to help yourself, and glancing over at the man one last time.
Except this time was different. Your eyes locked with the blonde man outside of the coffee shop across the street unexpectedly. Where you once thought casually to yourself that it looked like Steve, you now had confirmation that it was in fact the man who you’d fallen in love with, and found yourself pregnant by.
You audibly gasped, receiving a bit of a questioning look from your child. Your heart dropped as a metric ton of emotions hit you all at once, anger, sadness, confusion. Everything you told yourself you needed to repress, had suddenly come back to you all at once.
Even from a distance, you swore you could see his eyes flit from you to Grant, and the next thing you knew, he was approaching your direction. Looking for an easy out, and a distraction from your rather observant child, you quickly caused a misdirection.
“Grant, is that Stacey over on the playground? You should totally go show her that new version of tag that you were telling me about!”
Your son, ever the speedster, booked it towards the playground, and you let out a sigh of relief. Although, the relief didn’t last long, as just moments later, Steve was almost all the way up to you. As you turned to try to escape, you felt a hand on your arm.
“Y/N?” He asked, almost timidly.
You weren’t even sure what to say. In fact, you didn’t feel like you had control of your own body at this point. “Steve? I-“ You ran a hand through your hair and bit the inside of your lip. “You need to go.” The pain that was rushing through you was too much for you to bare, especially considering the man who caused the hurt had suddenly decided to reappear in your life after giving you a world of self doubt and abandonment issues.
Steve seemed hurt by your statement, but you weren’t sure how much longer you could stand to even look at his face. “Please, Y/N, let me explain,” he begged.
“No, Steve. You don’t get that luxury. You left me for someone else, and I guess you got to live a nice, long life with her. You don’t get to just show back up in my life when you get bored, okay? I can’t afford to play those types of games anymore. Now if you’d let me go-“ You attempted to get to your car, but Steve side stepped you.
“It wasn’t like that. You know it isn’t like that.”
“Just fucking leave! You have no idea what this has all been like for me. You had your opportunity to leave, and you gladly took it. Stay the fuck out of my life, and the hell away from my son.” You grabbed the handle of your car door and got in, reeling as you watched a dejected Steve walk away.
Your heart pounded in your chest as you rested your head against the steering wheel. You were feeling way too many emotions to pinpoint exactly how you felt, but you knew that this couldn’t be good.
——
You put a brave face on for your son that day, picking him up from school in a daze, and only half listening to whatever it was that he was telling you.
You felt bad for only being able to nod along to whatever he was saying, and did he just ask you if he could get a dog? Did you just say yes?
You felt like a stranger watching yourself from the outside in. The ghost of the person you’d developed into over the years watching the past version of yourself slip right back into your body, and take over your daily routine through the next few days of your life.
You had an obscene amount of anger that soon dissolved into a deep sadness, and that sadness shorty developed into a morbid curiosity.
You spent an unreasonable, and certainly unhealthy amount of time searching your old lover’s name on tabloid websites and social media, just to see if he’d given a statement on his whereabouts, or a statement about anything at all.
After about day three of your minor internet stalking, you’d had an epiphany while sitting in your office.
You still have Steve’s number saved on your phone.
That was, of course, if it hadn’t changed between now and the years that he’d been off living in the past.
Something about knowing that you were just one text away from him made your heart race with a mixture of nerves and interest. Just one impulsive decision, and you could change the whole trajectory of the rest of your life.
If you got back in contact with Steve, you might not ever be willing to leave him. You refused to make that mistake again.
Until you did.
After reading Grant his nightly bedtime story, then wrapping him tightly in his little bed, you’d decided to treat yourself to a glass of Chardonnay.
It’d been a weird past couple of days. Your time traveling ex had randomly appeared back into your life, your coworkers seemed to get on your nerves a little more every moment you were around them, and Grant had a temper tantrum in the grocery store that afternoon over a chocolate bar, which gained judging stares from customers, and may have made you feel the slightest bit inadequate.
At least that’s what you told yourself as you filled your glass again, because two glasses can’t hurt, and again, since I kinda deserve this extra one, don’t I? The next thing you knew, the bottle was empty, and you were texting Steve for the first time in years.
Y: Is this Steve?
You watched as three white dots hovered on your screen for a moment, disappeared, then came back once again.
S: Is this Y/N?
Y: Yes.
Y: We should tlak
Y: *talk
S: I agree.
Y: So lets
Y: talk
S: I don’t think this is a conversation for texts.
Y: Then call me???????????????????
S: We should talk in person.
Y: Im not gonna do that sober
S: You’re not sober?
Y: do you think id text u sober u big fuckni asshole
S: I guess you’re right
S: So are we gonna talk?
Y: no ur gonna meet me at b cup cafe tomorrow at 10
S: AM or PM?
Y: AM I’m off
S: Are you sure you want to do this?
Y: Say yes before i change my mind
S: I’ll see you there
Y: Bye babydaddy
S: ????
You promptly deleted the messages, tossed your phone somewhere on the sofa, and sunk into the seat. Even in your not-completely-sober state, you already felt the all too familiar sense regret. You dragged the blanket that hung over the top of the sofa over your exhausted body, and closed your eyes, wishing that this was somehow all a dream.
----
It was not all just a dream.
You woke up with dried drool on your chin, and a deep pit of bad feelings and regret in your chest. Of course, you ignored the bad feelings and got ready, business as usual. You successfully dropped Grant off at school with little complications, and found yourself perking up a bit more.
Yet, something still felt slightly off. You reached into the passenger seat for your phone, and as you looked down on it, saw the familiar notification of a calendar event.
10:00 AM b cup coff w Steeb
You groaned out loud at this. There was no obligation for you to go meet with him, but perhaps going and talking to Steve would bring you some sort of closure. Maybe then you could move on with your life, get with a nice guy who would mean it when he tells you he won't leave you, who loves Grant like he’s his own biological offspring, and to take care of the both of you through thick and thin.
You gladly daydreamed of this fantasy man while driving to the shop, but you couldn’t help but to see Steve’s face doing all of the aforementioned things. Before you even fell pregnant, that’s what you’d truly wanted with Steve. To be a family. To have your definition of home be with your people, rather than a place.
Entering the coffee shop, you briefly ordered your drink before looking around and find Steve sitting alone in a booth, mindlessly stirring around the liquid in his cup.
Timidly, you approached the booth, before setting your purse down and sitting across from him.
“You... you came?” He looked up to you with almost watery eyes.
“Of course I did,” you tried to hold yourself back from mentioning something about following through on your word. You wanted this to be as civil as possible. To build bridges rather than burn them.
“I just didn’t expect to see you in person again. And, you know, you were running a little late,” he added.
“Well, you try waking a five year old up and getting him ready for school every day,” you expelled a humorless chuckle to deflect from the slight agitation you were feeling.
“While you’re hungover?” Steve asked with a bit of a smirk, trying to lighten up the mood.
“While you’re hungover,” You confirmed, genuinely laughing now. It felt good, natural even. You’d kind of forgotten just how pleasant things used to be with Steve.
“Did you mean it last night?” he interrupted the laughter with a serious look.
“I honestly cannot remember anything I said last night. Elaborate, please?”
“That he’s mine. Your son.” He watched you silently nod, then began to speak again, “Wow, I just didn’t realize… How did that happen?” He looked down into his drink nervously.
“Well, it’s kind of hard to recall the exact details, but when a mommy and a daddy love each other very much...” You trailed off, and looked up as a barista called a butchered version of your name.
You were glad to have an excuse to get up and leave for a moment. Adrenaline was racing through your body, and you weren’t sure how much longer you could keep your composure before you erupted into tears, or had some sort of angry outburst.
Bringing your cup back to the booth, you sat down and took a sip of the scalding drink, “Where did we leave off?”
“I believe you were giving me the birds and the bees?”
“Right! Well, I think you know the rest. I’ll tell you more about Grant later. Right now, I want to know why you left and suddenly decided to come back.” You genuinely felt proud of your delivery. This was the moment you’d practiced in front of the mirror for years, and you didn’t even butcher it.
Steve shook his head and looked into his drink once again. It was so hard to look at you, let alone make eye contact with you, when he knew that he’d been the one to give you an ocean of grief. Yet, he was somewhat intrigued by hearing that his son’s name was his middle name.
“It’s kind of a long story,” Steve began.
“Good thing we have time,” you crossed your arms as you spoke.
“Well, waking up in a whole new time period isn’t exactly the easiest thing ever. You and me both know I missed it there, and it’s always been more than just nostalgia for me. I truly believed that I belonged back there.”
Of course, you had an idea of this, but hearing Steve confirm what you’d already thought made your insides twist.
“But I was so wrong. More than anything, I guess I was in love with a romanticized version of the past. Of Peggy.”
Hearing her name, especially from Steve, made you bristle. You wanted to interrupt him at this point, but it wouldn’t do you or him any good to become hostile while he explained himself.
“By the time I realized, it was too late. I figured you’d already moved on and found someone else to take care of you, and the world, this world, didn’t really need me anymore. But something possessed me to come back.”
“So you’re telling me that if you stopped being an idiot that just assumes things, we could’ve worked this out before? That you could’ve been an active participant in your son’s life?”
“I guess that’s a good way to interpret that story. I know I haven’t been in his life, but is there any way that I can still meet him?” Steve asked hopefully.
“Yeah, of course. He’s just like,” you sighed a bit to yourself. “He’s like a carbon copy of you. Especially his personality, but like, down to his mannerisms. I always struggled to understand how he could be so much like his dad, and never even had met him. You’ll love him.”
“Even if I didn't like him, I’d still love him.”
“How do you still manage to be such a cheeseball all the damn time? You think you’d be able to make it to dinner tonight?”
----
At exactly 6:30 on the dot, your doorbell rang, and before you even had the chance to think about opening it, Grant already was at the door, and opening it. You cringed on the inside, and made a mental note to have another conversation about stranger danger with him.
“Do I know you? Who are you?” you heard your child question from the other room as you set down the last of the plates in your dining room.
“I’m Steve, your mom’s friend... and…” Steve nearly spilled the beans to his son, but didn’t want to cause any more damage than he’d already done. “Her friend.”
“That’s so cool! I have friends too, like Nick, and Stacey, and,” you’d rushed up to the door and wiped your brow, internally hoping that you hadn’t just smudged the makeup you’d put on for the occasion.
“Hi, Steve, come on in,” You beckoned him in, and pulled Grant to the side, quietly scolding him before leading Steve into the dining room. “Grant! This is the last time I’m telling you about opening doors, okay?” He nodded obediently, then followed you and Steve.
“Can I sit next to your friend, Mommy?”
“Is that alright with you, Steve?”
“More than fine.”
Grant sat down next to him, and scooted a bit closer than necessary, while you sat across from the two of them.
“I have to in… enter a gate you now. Because Mommy never brings any over her friends over. I didn’t know she had any friends.”
You blushed a bit at this, at your son’s overdramatic behavior, and his admission that you’d become a bit of a loner.
“Go ahead, pal,” Steve chuckled heartily.
“When did you meet my mom?”
“Before you were even born.”
“Wow! That’s a long time. You’re really old. What’s your favorite dinosaur?”
“I’ve heard T-Rexes are pretty cool.”
“Have you met any?”
You nearly spat out your drink at this. If only your son had known.
“Nope, never. Have you?”
“Hmm, not yet. But they’re my favorite dino too. Now your ‘gating is over.”
You couldn’t help but to burst out into laughter at the bizarre exchange, but you were glad that your son and Steve were getting along so well.
The rest of dinner went pretty similarly, with Grant bantering with Steve, and Steve indulging him. You could tell that the relationship between the two of them was something that came both naturally and easily. You couldn’t help but to grin as Grant began to ramble about how cool Steve was, and how he swore he was better friends with Steve than you were.
“Mommy, isn’t Steve the best? You guys should totally get married so he can have dinner with us every day!” he swooned. “He even kinda looks like me, right?!”
That’s why you couldn’t help what came out of your mouth next.
“Grant, Steve is… He’s your dad,” you said quietly.
Grant nodded, then slurped up a noodle, “That’s why he’s so cool! He gets it from me, right Mom?”
“That sounds right to me,” You glanced up at Steve, and noticed his surprised expression. You mouthed something along the lines to ‘He’ll process it later,’ and waved a dismissive hand, before going in for another bite of food.
----
After putting Grant to bed, You and Steve stood at your kitchen sink, bumping elbows occasionally as the two of you silently worked together to wash and dry dishes.
The domesticity and familiarity of the action brought you an obscene amount of comfort. You remembered how you once believed that this is what your future would look like. Your thoughts were interrupted by Steve beginning to talk.
“Doesn’t this remind you of life after the first snap?” He asked, breaking the silence.
“Kind of. You’re not off the hook yet, by the way. You still have plenty of explaining and proving you’ve changed to do.” You set the last cup in the cupboard, then dried your hands off.
“I know, I know,” Steve began.
“We don’t even know if you’re ready for fatherhood. But right now, I kinda don’t care. I really just want you to kiss me.” You reached up to Steve’s cheek, and he pulled you in for a soft and chaste kiss.
You’d never felt more at home.

Wrecker x Homesick Reader (Part Two!)
Tumblr media
A continuation of this ex-one-shot, but you can probably pick up everything you need to know from context.
Wrecker x f!reader: hint of romance toward the end
Word Count: 2,300 ish
Warnings: none
---
You stood outside of the infamous Havoc Marauder, staring up at the ship with nerves tingling in your stomach.
Okay, coming here had seemed like a fine idea when Wrecker suggested it. Last night, it had even seemed like it might be fun. Added to Wrecker's promise that Tech would amp up the power and reach of your comlink? You had agreed to be here without a second thought.
Now, this finally seemed like a bad idea. The Marauder was looking rough after Clone Force 99's latest crash-landing, you had no idea if Wrecker had spoken to Tech on your behalf, and you hadn't even seen Wrecker that day. Plus, stupid as it sounded even in your own thoughts, you had never actually walked up to a ship without being expected. Were you supposed to knock? Shout? Should you just wait and hope they saw you?
As you stood, undecided, you thought seriously about going back to your quarters. If you were having second thoughts about this, Wrecker probably was, too. It would probably be best for everyone if you just left…
But then hydraulics hissed and the doors opened and the stairs attached to the ship dropped down. Tech appeared in the doorway, peering at you.
"You are the one Wrecker invited here, correct?"
"Uh. Correct?" you answered doubtfully. "He told me you might be able to help me with my comlink."
"Of course I can help you," Tech replied, his casual confidence making you quirk an eyebrow. He lifted his head to glance at the sky for a moment. "You'll have to come onboard the ship, however. The light conditions out here are too intense for such detailed work."
"Yeah, sure," you agreed, following him inside.
The Havoc Marauder was a smaller ship than the ones you had gotten used to at your time at Spearpoint Outpost. Of course, that may have been because a sheet hanging from the ceiling separated the entrance and cockpit from the rest of the living area, but you understood and respected the need for privacy. Four men living in such close quarters probably tried to keep things as separated as possible.
With that in mind, you resisted the urge to peek behind the truly giant sheet to see the Bad Batch's bunk space. Instead, you followed Tech up to the front of the Marauder. To your surprise, Sergeant Hunter was also in the small area. Remembering his keen senses and reluctance to be too close to other people, you stopped immediately.
"Do you want me to wait outside?" you offered. "I don't mind."
"Nah, come on in," Hunter invited. "I'm just doing some maintenance checks. Go ahead and sit down, though. I don't want to risk us clashing heads if either of us moves the wrong way."
You watched the sergeant for a moment to see if he was joking. The two of you weren’t even close to the same height, so several things would need to go wrong before you worried about bumping heads. You thought you saw an amused glitter in his dark eyes, but you had already begun turning toward the co-pilot's seat.
Tech sat down in the other seat. "Don't panic," he said bracingly, and he had ripped the cover off of your comlink before you had time to ask what he meant. Despite the warning, you still flinched at the noise of your comlink being broken.
You watched him in silence for a few long minutes, engrossed in the minute details of his work.
"Wrecker mentioned that you need this range increase to speak with your friends," Tech said, his quiet voice making you jump in the silence of the ship.
"My family, actually," you corrected.
You realized that the quiet sounds of Hunter working in the cabin behind you had stopped. You glanced back in his direction and he began fiddling with some exposed wires again.
"Where are you from?" Tech asked. "I'm certain Wrecker mentioned it before, but I cannot remember a place."
Wrecker talked about you? Feeling unreasonably warmed by that, you answered, "Bespin. Cloud City."
"Supposed to be beautiful there," Hunter said behind you.
"It is," you agreed readily. "Especially the sunrises. Or the sunsets, really. There are always clouds, so on a good day, the sun reflects off the water until the air is filled with more rainbows than there are stars in the sky."
"Impossible," Tech started, but Hunter cut him off.
"You must miss it. Sounds like you left a lot behind to be here."
You shrugged. "Not as much as some. Still, this was the right thing to do. I don't regret my choices."
Tech worked in silence for a while after that, doing something complex to the electrical components of the comlink.
Eventually, he said, "I've heard Bespin has odd customs. Parents often let their children form romantic relationships at early ages and people are encouraged to remain with those partners."
You didn't answer that and Tech glanced up at you questioningly. His fingers didn't stop manipulating the micro-spanner. The comlink sparked loudly and you grimaced. You hadn't even known a comlink could do that.
"Don't you need to… you know, concentrate?" you asked, fighting to keep your voice polite. You couldn't really afford a new comlink right now, and even when you could, a new communicator would take forever to arrive somewhere as remote as Spearpoint.
Rather than look back at the comlink, Tech's eyes slid over to where Hunter stood behind you, silent once more. Before you could turn as well, Tech’s gaze was back on the small device.
Sudden realization flashed through your mind. Tech's questions, Hunter's halting work on the Marauder… They were testing you. This was an interview to see if you were good enough for Wrecker.
You had always been excellent at interviews.
You sat straighter in the chair, dropping the tension from your shoulders as you fixed Tech with a sincere smile.
"You're thinking of Bespin as it was a thousand years ago," you told Tech, satisfied when he looked up at you with surprise half-hidden behind his goggles. "Those traditions were from before we had stable hover-lifts to keep cities at even elevation levels. It would be too difficult to re-identify a city that had dropped, risen, or otherwise changed locations. Young adults were encouraged to find someone they considered a potential romantic partner and share a dwelling before they lost each other forever."
"I…" Tech blinked. "I was unaware."
"We have a lot of legends about it," you said kindly. "Some of them are very widespread, so it isn't surprising you would have found one. I can recommend a good holotext about how we got to a more uniform elevation level and the shift to a more standard form of courtship. If you're interested, of course."
"I am extremely interested," Tech assured. "Have courtship rituals on Bespin changed, then?"
You shrugged. "Probably as much as those of any society that has been inhabited as long as Bespin. I wouldn't know a lot, personally. My first relationship wasn't until I had gone to college on Alderaan, and it certainly wasn’t with anyone from Bespin.”
Tech hummed quietly at that, refocusing his attention on your comlink. You waited to see what his next question would be, but the only noise in the cockpit was the sound of approaching footsteps.
You turned to find Crosshair stepping through the doorway. You managed a smile - not that it was appreciated or returned by the scowling trooper - but started to get anxious again. Where is Wrecker? Surely he hadn’t decided that you were more trouble than you were worth. If he had, why would his brothers be interrogating you?
Tech cleared his throat. “Did you stay on Alderaan long-?”
“You’re the one who spends so much time with Wrecker,” Crosshair said, staring at you. You nodded rather than risk displaying your nervousness in your voice. Crosshair grimaced. “Why?”
“Why… what?” you asked, utterly confused by his question.
“Well, most people find him irritating,” Crosshair pointed out, folding his arms across his lean chest. “Don’t you?”
“Never,” you replied instantly, your voice a bit too passionate for such a small space. “Wrecker is sweet and funny and cares more about others than anyone I’ve ever met. He’s amazing. If some people think he’s irritating, that’s their loss.”
Crosshair inclined his head at you before turning back toward the large sheet separating the living quarters from the cockpit. “There you go; an honest opinion.”
You blushed scarlet as the sheet dropped to reveal Wrecker. Apparently, the biggest Bad Batcher had been holding it in place pressed against the ceiling. You were marveling at that for a few precious seconds, but Wrecker had already moved on.
Beaming at you, Crosshair, and anyone else who bothered to look in your direction, Wrecker cheered, “Great!”
“Subtle, Crosshair,” Hunter said lowly.
Crosshair shrugged. “He wanted to know, and you and Tech were taking too long.”
“So,” Wrecker started, rubbing at the back of his neck as he moved to stand in front of you. Well, he was standing behind the copilot seat, really. The cockpit was crowded with you and every member of Clone Force 99 sharing the space. “I was thinking, maybe-”
“I am finished,” Tech announced, pushing past Wrecker to claim your full attention. He presented you with your comlink and, ignoring Wrecker’s huff of annoyance, proceeded to explain exactly what he had done to the device and how it should work.
You did your best to pay attention, but it was tricky with the other members of the Bad Batch standing in the background. Wrecker, understandably, looked frustrated. Crosshair was far too amused as someone watching one of his brothers accidentally torment another one. Hunter was the one really keeping an eye on the situation. When Tech had finally started to repeat an earlier point, Hunter interrupted.
“Tech, I need your help with one of the sensors in the rear deflector shield,” Hunter said, drawing Tech away slightly. “I’ve fixed the problem and reset the sensor, but it’s still registering as a bug in the system-”
As Hunter and Tech moved further away, Crosshair gave a sardonic salute and slouched off as well. You and Wrecker were alone for the first time, and he moved to sit down in the other pilot’s chair.
Sitting down, Wrecker seemed much less physically imposing. He was an undeniably large man, but at least you were almost the same height sitting down. Well, sort of the same height. Okay, not really the same height at all, but closer than when you were both standing.
Wrecker sat extremely upright in his chair as he started to speak. “Okay, now that they’re finally gone, I wanted to ask: would you maybe think about having dinner with me tonight? Here? I’ll get rid of the guys and we can have anything you want and I already cleaned just in case you said yes, but if you say yes, I’ll clean again just to make sure it’s really clean-”
“Wrecker!” you said laughingly, holding up your hands as if to stifle the stream of words. “I would be glad to have dinner with you. Thank you for asking me. It already looks clean in here, so please don’t feel like you need to go to any trouble.”
“That’s great!” Wrecker enthused after he had sat staring at you for a solid 20 seconds. He opened his arms. “Hug?”
“I’d love one, thanks,” you accepted gratefully, sliding forward until you left your chair.
Wrecker didn’t even give you a chance to stand all the way before he had wrapped you in another warm, squeezing embrace. You returned it as well as you could, but he pulled back sooner than he had the night before. You raised a curious eyebrow at him, but Wrecker gently disentangled himself from you and settled you back on your own seat.
“Actually, I have something else I need to say, and you need to be over there so you can be comfortable.” You raised both eyebrows at that, as well as at the sincere expression on Wrecker’s scarred face.
He avoided your eyes, but said it anyway: “I want to be more than friends. I… like you, but more than that. You know? Maybe you don’t. But I just wanted to make sure you knew that I would be happy to be your friend. If all you want is to be my friend, I think that’s great and I’m excited to be part of your new family here. Ugh, I’m messing this all up…”
You moved closer again, grabbing Wrecker’s hand as you did. “Wrecker, I’m glad you like me as more than a friend. It’s- That’s how I feel about you, too.”
“Really?” Wrecker breathed, definitely the quietest tone you had ever heard him use.
His eyes were lit up with hope and you smiled as you confirmed, “Really. But I haven’t dated a lot of people and I get the feeling it might be the same for you? So maybe we should take things slow.”
“That sounds amazing,” Wrecker agreed. “So should we reschedule dinner for another time?”
You smiled softly, hoping it didn’t come off condescending. “We don’t need to move that slowly, not if you’re comfortable with us having dinner together. I would like for us to be friends, too.”
“So it’s okay if I do this?” Wrecker asked, pulling your linked hands up to brush a kiss on the back of your hand.
It was such a simple, innocent gesture, but you had to fight a blush as you nodded. “It’s definitely okay if you do that.”
The pair of you grinned at each other like fools for an embarrassingly long time before you remembered a line you should draw. “Just please don’t leave me alone with your brothers again. They’re terrifying when they’re trying to look out for you.”
“I promise,” Wrecker said sincerely. “Though they like you, if that helps.”
“Thank goodness for that,” you murmured, glancing through the Marauder’s viewport to find Hunter, Tech, and Crosshair watching the two of you with knowing smirks.

"O-oh god! It's too big Nev, 's not gonna...c-can't-"
"Oh It's going to fit, don't worry pretty girl. Daddy's gonna fuck you so good. You want that, don't you baby?" He asked, cooing as she nodded frantically, tongue lulled out the side of her mouth. Neville had barely gotten past the tip before she began whining, crying about how big he was. He couldn’t help but lose control, shoving himself deep inside her, pistoning his hips at an ungodly pace. His eyes lingered on her chest, entranced by the hypnotic sway that they had due to his thrust. Pinning her hands to the bed, their eyes locked in an intense moment.
“O-oh fuck princess, you’re so tight. You gonna cum? Hm? Gonna make a-”
“Nev?” he snapped up, a heavy gasp leaving his lips as looked to his side. (Y/n) sat there, a confused look on her face. “Are you alright? I think you were having a nightmare. You kept making a bunch of noises in your sleep!” he felt his face flush, clearing his throat as he looked away from her. His heart began to race as she climbed into his lap, turning his face towards hers. He looked at her, hoping his nerves weren't clear on his face. Due to the snickers he heard in the background, he was certain it was obvious to just about everyone but her what the issue was.
“Hey um, petal, you might wanna move.” he whispered to her, trying to keep her hips from his troubled area.
“Why?” she asked, tilting her head once more as she moved back. Her eyes widened at the newfound breeze on her rear due to her skirt being lifted up. Not sure of what the cause was she moved back slightly, gasping at the feeling of something hard and long against her ass. Suddenly it all set in, he was- “O-oh. I’m sorry Nev.” she squeaked, quickly hopping from his lap. She smoothed down her skirt, clearing her throat as she eyed everyone in the room awkwardly. While the pair seemed flustered, the team couldn’t get enough of the interaction.
“Well I guess it’s clear why you’re the boss now.” Fred said, laughing as he motioned to the large tent in the man’s pants. George gave him a low five, joining him in his laughter as Neville glared at them all. Who were they to make him feel embarrassed? Standing up he adjusted the tent in his pants but despite his efforts, his dick was still prominent through his slacks.
“Poor (Y/n). She’s not gonna live to see another day after that thi-”
“Would you lot quit it?! When the fuck are we landing?” Neville growled at the bunch, causing the laughter to cease. Everyone knew what it was like to deal with an enraged Neville and that was the last thing they wanted. If the plane hadn't already landed, he’d shoot it right out the sky.
“We’ve actually just landed, boss. I was going to tell you before this little…situation that just occurred. Your bags have already been brought to the villa to ensure we have maximum time to scope out the museum.” Harrison said, giving the man a nod. He hummed, giving him a nod. “In the meantime, the city is yours to roam girls. We’ll be sending two men with you for your safety.” he snapped his fingers and two tall men appeared, their scary appearance paired with “tourist” clothing. What was supposed to be a disguise was just a funny sight of two muscle heads in brightly colored floral shirts. The (h/c) haired girl walked over to the leader, tugging on his sleeve some. He looked down at her, face softening at the pout on her face.
“Will we be able to spend some time together eventually? I know this is technically a work trip for you but I-I’d really like to spend time with you.” she said, making his heart melt. She never failed to make his heart burst, unreasonably cute without even trying. He had already planned on making time for her but now it wasn’t just something on his list, but his main priority. Stroking her cheek gently he put a soft kiss on her forehead.
“ ‘Course petal. In the meantime,” he leaned down sucking on the skin below her ear as he let out a chuckle, “Why don’t you go buy yourself something pretty for me?” her eyes widened but she nodded regardless, looking at him with a shocked expression as he pulled away. Before she could respond Twyla began to drag her, yanking her down the stairs of the jet.
“Come on babes! We’ve got some shopping to do.”
--------------------------------------
“Was it really necessary to send them with us?” (Y/n) whispered, looking over her shoulder at the two large men that had been following them from a distance. “I mean, everyone’s looking!” she hissed, pointing to a group of people that were pointing and whispering to them. Twyla shrugged, a subtle skip to her walk.
“Just means we look important! You worry too much, babes. We’re on an expense paid trip to Italy and we don’t have to pay for any of these clothes? There could literally be an angry mob after us and that still wouldn’t kill my mood!” she sighed, still noticing the girl’s tense mood. “Plus, Neville would want you to enjoy yourself. Speaking of him…” she grabbed the girl’s hand, walking into the lingerie store on the left. She looked at her confused.
“Why are we here? Nev already bought me underwear.” she asked, following Twyla as she began to grab different sets off the racks. Another layer of confusion was added on when she noticed that she wasn’t grabbing her own size. Twyla let out a snort, throwing the small pile that she had somehow amassed into her arms.
“Don’t be ridiculous! You’re telling me after today’s little ordeal that you haven’t noticed? Your hottie has definitely been thinking of banging your brains out.” she said, giggling at the girl’s bashful expression. “I’m only telling the truth! And judging by your reactions, you’ve been thinking about it too.” she pondered her words for a moment. It wasn’t not not true. She most certainly had thought about Neville in more unsavory ways. Even before their reuniting, (Y/n) always thought about him as she attempted to get herself off, imagining they were his hands touching her bringing her to a well deserved climax. However anytime she’d get close, she’d become overwhelmed with the thought that what she had been doing was shameful. Masturbating to her old crush from school? What could be more dirty?
“I-I guess I have thought about it once or twice..” she admitted. “B-but I don’t have the balls to just walk out in something like this! What if he laughs at me?” Twyla gawked at the girl, blinking repeatedly. She could not believe her ears.
“Are you kidding me?! The only sound that will be leaving that man’s mouth is the sound of him telling you to get on your knees.” she responded, turning back around to look through the racks for more. “Plus, it’s not like you have to pounce on the man. All I’m saying is wait for the right time, maybe after a nice dinner or something then boom, whip out the goods. You’ve got everything to gain and nothing to lose. If that’s all then let’s check out then go get massages! I’m making you pamper yourself this trip. Merlin knows you need a break.”
(Y/n) was thankful for Twyla’s pep talk knowing the blonde was right. Neville would like anything she did; it was just a matter of when she should do it.
---------------------------------------
And pampering they had done. (Y/n) and Twyla had been to just about every ritzy spot Italy had to offer them. After their shopping trip, the taller girl had taken them to get massages. It was funny how the masseuse instantly knew it was her first time from the abundance of knots in her back and when the man was done? She was most certainly an inch taller! They also had gone for manicures (despite having done that a few days ago..). Being bold she decided to get a set out of her comfort zone which she was beyond satisfied with. But the hot Italian sun combined with all the running around had tired her out, resulting in the driver bringing them to the villa.
The villa wasn’t as big as Neville’s second manor but was still insanely big. After the bodyguard had carried her bags to her room for her, she climbed into the brand new silk robe she had gotten, laying on the bed drinking the smoothie the maid had gotten for her. It was nice, just being able to relax. Throughout her years of working, (Y/n) rarely took off days. A lot of the time she’d even cover shifts for employees that couldn’t make it and even when the bakery was closed she would come in, fixing things up and tidying up mindlessly. Numerous times Twyla had caught the girl there when she wasn’t supposed to be and forced her to go home out of concern for her health.
Her eyes fluttered open at the sound of the bedroom door opening, widening with enthusiasm as she saw the tattooed man in the doorway, a bouquet of flowers in his hands. Hopping up she ran over to him, jumping into his arms which he gladly accepted, holding her tightly. “I missed you.”
He smiled, setting the flowers down to hold her better before placing a soft peck to her lips. “I missed you too, love. I left early so I could spend some time with you.” his eyes moved to the bags in the corner of the room, chuckling at the large pile. “I’m guessing your shopping trip was successful?” she felt her face heat up at his lack of knowledge of the lingerie that lay within one of them.
“I guess you could say that. Come, come! I wanna relax with you.” she began dragging him over to the bed, straddling him once he was situated. They sat in a comfortable silence with Neville holding the girl close to his chest, just appreciating the closeness he had with her. Since they’re reunion, every intimate moment, be it sexual or not, had been interrupted by some instance where he was needed somewhere else. He hadn’t been able to spend nearly as much time as he wanted with her but now he had her all to himself. His hands rubbed at her back gently until he got bored, deciding to test the waters. He knew it’d take a while before they’d get anywhere near what happened in his dream but he was willing to wait. He’d do anything to be able to touch her, feel her in a way that was less than innocent. As he gripped at her ass with one hand he brought the other one up to her cheek, cupping it as he pulled her into a deep and sensual kiss.
She gladly accepted, kissing back as she brought herself closer to him, playing with the bits of loose hair at the base of his neck. He began to nibble on her lip before pulling away, trailing open mouthed kisses down her neck. A mewl sounded from her, causing him to pull away slowly. Gripping at her waist above her robe, he gazed into her eyes intently. “You wearin’ anything under here?” he asked, watching as she looked down, shaking her head. “No? God you’re making it so hard for me to not just fuck you right here.” he sighed some, reaching for the ties on her robe. He stopped, looking at her once more for confirmation. She nodded frantically before stopping, feeling slightly embarrassed from how eager she was. With one soft tug, her robe was undone revealing her soft supple breast which he instantly went for. With his lips wrapped around one he began to lick and suck at the other, both of them moaning in unison. After a while of him teasing her sensitive nubs she began to grow impatient, rocking her hips against his gently as she let out a soft whimper.
“P-please..” she moaned breathlessly, not too sure of what she wanted. All she knew was that she wanted something, anything. Everything he did had her near her edge, from his kisses to his tongue and she needed to feel more. Pulling away he looked at her, thinking for a moment before pulling the two of them up.
“I wanna try something,” he said, positioning in front of the mirror. “He pushed back the fabric of her robe, putting her pussy on full display. His pants tightened at the sight of her glistening folds which she avoided in the mirror. Neville gripped her chin gently, positioning it to look at her bits in the mirror, chuckling at her wide eyes, pupils fully blown with arousal. With his other hand, he began to massage up and down her thighs. He watched as her legs grew weak, shaking with anticipation. Trailing his fingers near her sex, tracing small patterns on the inside of her thighs.
He patted the side of her cheek with two fingers, pulling her attention away from herself to make eye contact with him through the glass. “Open up.” he whispered, small praises of approval leaving his mouth as she did. He took his thick digits, slowly pushing past her kiss stung lips. His eyes watched in the mirror as they entered her wet little mouth, groaning at the feeling of her soft tongue gliding along the underside of them. Pushing them a little further, she gagged, eyes tearing up. She looked so pretty with tears in her eyes, already fucked out before he had even put them in. It was hard to tell who wanted it more at this point but as Neville finally slid a finger into her folds, it was obvious. Hot tears fell down her face, already overwhelmed from it all. Pumping his finger in and out, his eyes flickered between her fucked out face and her pussy, juices already coating her thighs. Moving his face to her neck, he began to suck and kiss on her neck.
(Y/n) was becoming more and more desperate by the moment. She had subconsciously begun to play with her tits, rubbing and tugging on her nipples. “M-more, Nev please!” she begged to which he instantly complied, sliding another finger in. He began to work her open more, scissoring and stretching his fingers inside of her. Once her muscle had relaxed once again, he began to speed up his moment, the heel of his palm creating a slapping noise each time it’d meet her pussy.
“Merlin, baby, you’re soaked. Your messy little cunt’s just eating my fingers.” he purred out, chuckling deeply as he felt her clench at his words. Who knew his pretty little princess would get worked up so easily, slowly reaching her peak just from a few fingers and words? He used his other hand to rub at her clit, causing her knees to buckle, falling back onto him for support. He loved how much she relied on him, becoming a needy mess just for him. He curled his fingers up, aiming for her spot until he found it causing her to let out a loud cry, gripping onto his arm tightly. Neville watched as her face scrunched up, tears streaming down her face.
“N-need to….need ta….O-oh god Nev! I’m gonna-” before she could finish her eyes widened before snapping close, head falling back onto his shoulder as she rutted her hips against his fingers, whimpering as she rode out her high. He continued to rub at her clit, fingering her cunt until she began to whine, pushing him away. He smirked some, admiring her fucked out expression in the mirror. Her eyes were shut, pants  puffy lips. He licked his lips at the sight of her cunt, sensitive and fucked out, messy and cum covered from her orgasm. As he pulled his fingers out, he had to stop himself from letting out a string of curses at the way her cream began to run hot down her legs along with the bit that had gathered on his fingers. Lifting them to his face he wasted no time, sucking and licking on them. He moaned softly, continuing to clean them thoroughly, not stopping until the only thing that remained was the salty taste of his own flesh.
“You look so pretty when you cum, flower.” he muttered, smiling as the girl just let out a soft ‘mhm’, half asleep and barely able to process his words. He took off her robe, lifting her up as he began to carry her to their private bathroom, letting out a content sigh at the events that had just happened. Although he hadn’t been able to get off himself, he was more than happy being able to just please her.
Afterall, it was what he wanted more than anything, to have his flower live in absolute happiness and pleasure.

Uchiha Itachi: NSFW Alphabet
So, it has come to my attention that Itachi of the Uchiha has been done a disservice in the eyes of the internet and been called terrible names. *COUGH* vanilla *COUGH* basic *HACK* I assure you, my friends, nothing could be further from the truth! And so, I present to you, my interpretation of the one and only. Enjoy.
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Aftercare is not optional. It is just as much a part of the experience as foreplay and the actual sex.
Will he clean you up? Not religiously, like it’s something he’ll do every time, but yes, he would. If you’re still feeling tired or lingering in bed by the time he’s gotten cleaned up, he wouldn’t think twice and just take care of you as well. If you mention that you think it’s sweet or you enjoy it, then… YES, he would absolutely start doing this religiously.
Expect hairstroking and holding you to his chest, letting you listen to his heartbeat. If you want to share your 4 AM thoughts here, he’ll be down for it and let you know what he thinks about your ideas. After you’ve fallen asleep he will stay awake sorting through his thoughts, over what it means to have you by his side and the risks involved for you. This is pretty much the only time in the day that it’s safe to be vulnerable with his thoughts and so, this is where he will think about what you mean to him, and press a kiss to your forehead before finally going to sleep himself.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
Eyes, definitely. The eyes are known to be the windows to the heart and his own eyes define so much of his life and his destiny, so yes, he could stare into his partner’s eyes for an almost uncomfortably long time, drinking them in. I can’t really say he’s a butt or boobs guy cuz that’s not how his mind is wired. He’s wired to be mission-oriented and there’s no room in his mind for distractions but on his S/O he would appreciate and worship every inch of her.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
Um… breeding kink, anyone? Defo see him as having one. Is this an underlying psychological thing because he was deprived of having a normal family? At the same time, though, he’s in no rush to have children of his own, because he knows what a terrible place this world can be. But the desire to spill his seed deep into his S/O’s womb is deeply ingrained. Modern birth-control would really solve this problem.
Also, swallowing. *COUGH* If someone does this for him it will go straight to his head. Prepare to be rewarded.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
Hmm… I almost feel guilty about characterizing him like this, but I could see him somewhere deep down having a desire to have his partner submit to him? Not in the sense that he would ask for that, but if he had a wet dream about his S/O she would probably be on her knees, and he would feel guilty about it the next day and be a little sweeter than usual to her.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
Okay! So, this is an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think Itachi is inexperienced! Even if we take Canon!Ita (but maybe age him up a little) I feel like there could be situations, mission-related, or pursued by women he objectively finds appealing, where saying no is just more inconvenient than going along with it. Especially if it’s for the sake of a mission, he wouldn’t think twice. Or if he does it in order to not blow his cover. While he does largely turn admirers away, more for their own good and because he’s generally not interested, I do believe he could have realistically encountered situations in his travels that led to sexual encounters. He hasn’t taken a vow of chastity, so I don’t see why he should go to unreasonable lengths to say no?
So yeah, in my mind he definitely has some experience, but not a whole lot. Obviously, he takes necessary precautions to ensure those brief dalliances stay just that.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
Hahahaha, so I had to do some research to find out what this position is called. The Mastery? Basically, it’s woman on top but the couple is in a seated position. Meaning, he gets to look into your eyes and just basically, the heightened intimacy and closeness of this position are what does it for him. Also, he has more control than in the normal girl-on-top position, so he can control the pace somewhat and help you out.
But if you’re tired, he’ll pick you up and flip positions, he won’t wait for you to admit you’re tired and he won’t listen to your protests. He wants to see you out of your mind in ecstasy, not wondering whether or not you’re too tired to continue.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
Alright, so it’s Itachi, right? He isn’t very jokey. That just is what it is. He might do something unintentionally that might make you giggle, or you could laugh out of nervousness and while he very much enjoys that sound he doesn’t really know how to provoke it from you. It’s just not his area of expertise. (Sorry, Ita. Couldn’t give you this one.)
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Hmm… well, Itachi definitely is clean by nature, and is definitely well-groomed and particular in all aspects of his life, so… I’m going to go with trimmed. Neat and orderly. Just like everything else about him.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
I lowkey just want to link my oneshots to this, cuz they say it all, but alright! He will want to be connected to his S/O. That means either being able to see her face, or if the position doesn’t allow for it to hear her voice the entire time. He’s good at that. He’s so sweet and considerate and perceptive. He knows what’s working for you and what isn’t even without you saying a word, He may not have a whole lot of experience, but he has an innate talent (because doesn’t he just… with everything?) and he’s an exceptionally quick learner. He will legit ruin you for anyone else because if you ever ARE with anyone else and they snap at you, “What do you think I am, a mind reader?” You’ll realize what Itachi was doing.
So, yeah. He wants to make sure you’re into it and you’re taken care of and you’re near delirious with pleasure before he decides to let go himself. Being self-sacrificial and caring for others is in his nature. So, yeah, you really need to man up and figure out what he needs because he isn’t going to tell you. But you’re smart. You’ll work it out. (OR JUST READ THE REST OF THIS ALPHABET.)
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
Sorry, no. Don’t see him doing this. You have to consider how disciplined the guy is, and how insanely busy. It really is kind of a waste of time at the end of the day and if he wants it that badly, he can just make the trip to see you.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Teasing, edging, getting you to beg. He feels bad for you, he really does. But how much more can you take? You won’t know until you know. He’ll reward you for your patience though. And let’s be honest, you’ll love it, teasing and all. Not to mention mindfucking you to oblivion.
So, I went through an alleged “complete” list of 239 kinks to try and answer this question and most of it was just… weird. So, let’s do this differently. What follows is an incomplete list of things I could potentially see him being into or good at or have an interest in. In no particular order: mirrors, sub/dom play (with a little coaxing and admitting to himself that this is even a thing that he’s into. It would absolutely be limited to the bedroom, though), sensory deprivation, and.... bear with me here, but… I could see him having a hand for Shibari. THINK ABOUT IT. Those knots and things they learned to tie in the ninja academy? And we know Itachi is the best of the best in everything he does. So, I don’t think this is beyond the realm of possibility.
Generally speaking, though, he just doesn’t have the time for this stuff. BUT IF HE DID…
And now, this is exclusive to AM!Ita but he most likely has a praise kink. Being hated and cursed for eons, and being disillusioned with his own role, if his S/O comes in and tells him how great he is, how handsome, how wonderful. How good he is at what he does. How wonderful he makes her feel. Mmmm. I can see that doing things to him. XD
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
Ideally, in a lake or a river. Outdoor bathing spaces are generally approached with caution, so even if someone were to come by they would call out and make sure no one is there first, which means, less risk of getting caught. And I mean, this is Itachi… He’s an S-rank exiled nin. HE KNOWS HOW TO NOT GET CAUGHT. LOL. But yeah, he spends a lot of time out-of-doors. He’s more accustomed to the starry sky overhead than the roof of a house or woodland cabin. In my interpretation, he feels very much at peace when surrounded by nature and he would enjoy being intimate with you in that setting.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Confidence. Enthusiasm. Not necessarily seduction, if it’s a stranger he’s dealing with, this is more of a turn-off than anything. But if it’s his S/O and she turns up the charm and crooks a finger at him… You might even get a smile on that stoic face. I don’t see him being into the shy and stuttering type. If you blush and say, “No! St- stop!” He’ll literally stop. And probably apologize. AND NOT DO IT AGAIN.
If you try and explain to him that your no doesn’t mean no… Ah, yeah. He’s not into that. Be straightforward. Say what you mean. Don’t play games with him. He’ll see right through you.
That being said, being a lonely fighter all his life means he’s very sensitive to your touch. Just run a hand along his shoulder in passing and he’ll grab it and press a kiss to your palm, and haul you in. I could see him being into your hands. It really isn’t hard to turn him on, it’s hard to earn his trust and a position in his life that gives you the right to touch him and be touched by him. But when you’re there, it’s the easiest thing in the world. A smile, a kiss, a brush of your fingers over his collarbones. He’s a goner.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Pegging. This goes without saying. I can’t really think of much else he wouldn’t be into. I mean, stuff that’s a little more out there. Watersports. Daddy/Mommy kinks. Actual exhibitionism, (not genjutsu version) no way is he going to let anyone look in on your most intimate moments. Impact play. He knows very well what his hands are capable of, and there’s a lot of blood on them, so he really wouldn’t be into stuff that involves actually hurting you.
If his S/O likes it VERY rough, he might resort to genjutsu so that she gets what she wants, but he doesn’t have to actually hurt her. Other than that, bruising, choking, the usual level of roughness? Bring it on. Being adept with his hands also means he knows very well where that fine line between pain and pleasure is.
Not to mention, he’s very perceptive, so he’ll figure out what you’re into even without you saying it. He’s also very giving so he’ll focus more on your preferences than his own. But if the day ever comes where you realize what submission does to him… The man would be putty in your hands. Kukukukuku...
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
Both.
Giving, because he has absolute control over your pleasure, and because he enjoys how easily he can drive you out of your mind. We’ve established that he’s a terrible tease, so driving you to the brink and leaving you hanging, feeling every single one of your reactions… It’s good stuff.
Receiving takes the cake though. Being that vulnerable with someone, even having someone he can trust that much. It’s definitely something he’s very partial to, something that makes him soft towards you, and something that plays into his forbidden desire of seeing you submit, whether or not he’s aware of it. He’ll make sure to return the favor tenfold.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
This is an odd question I think, because… doesn’t it depend? On how much time he has, on how the two of you are feeling, on what the mood is?
Anyways, I’m going to go ahead and say slow and sensual because he really is a man who likes to take his time with you. He likes to feel every one of your responses, hear every little mewl and whimper and moan that crosses your lips. He definitely makes it an experience.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
Not his preference, but he isn’t above having a quickie if that’s all that time allows. But he would definitely follow up with a proper session at a later time, then.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Itachi is so nice. He really is. There’s nothing you could want that he wouldn’t be willing to try at least once for your sake. I mean, apart from the stuff listed under “N”.
And would he take risks? YES, HE WOULD. Because his assessment of the risks varies greatly from yours. So, something that you would think is very risky, might seem not risky at all to him, because he knows exactly how to go unseen, unnoticed. You might think he’s being risky, but he’s well aware there was a 0% chance you were going to get caught. Because Itachi skillz.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Stamina! *insert sparkles* AM!Ita has been established in the works, so I think that needs no comment. Canon!Itachi is a freaking fighter. An S-class exiled nin. Someone who claims Itachi has no stamina wants to start something with me. DID YOU SEE HIM HAND SASUKE’S ASS TO HIM? Despite his illness? He lost because he CHOSE to lose. I don’t see the Akatsuki hauling out a wheelchair for Itachi to go on his missions, so don’t go telling me nothing about Itachi having no stamina. SHAKE MY HEAD WHILE JUDGING YOU.
Dude is strong as hell. And you can’t tell me some bedroom fun is more physically taxing than literal superhuman battles against huge ass tailed beasts! It’s just ridiculous. I’m not here to rant. Better calm down.
I’m here to tell you our man can go for at least three rounds and you will *GUARANTEED* always tire out before he does.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
Yes. The sharingan. THE ONLY TOY YOU WILL EVER NEED. As mentioned above, he’s not above using his skills to heighten your pleasure, and mess with your mind. But actual, physical toys? Nah, the thought processes that would lead to considering, comparing, and actually purchasing those are just so foreign to his thinking. It would never even cross his mind. What can a toy even do that he can’t do better? (To his thinking anyway. Well, he’s not wrong.)
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
He will make you beg. Absolutely. He’s totally unfair. He will have casual conversations with you while driving you out of your wits. And then he’ll ask you why you’re not answering him. Ask you what’s wrong. Ask you what you want. LIKE HE DOESN’T KNOW.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Itachi is very restrained and disciplined so, unfortunately, this means he isn’t very vocal. I know, cry with me, it’s such a waste. *hires an orchestra of the world’s smallest violins* BUT that means when you do manage to make him groan or moan in pleasure, it’s such a huge ego boost. Apart from the sounds he makes when hitting a climax, he’s generally in control and whispering praise and teasings into your ear or over your skin.
If you want him to talk, get on your knees and give him some head. Not kidding. Mentioned it above already. He gets to let go, a lot of his secret kinks are getting fulfilled, he feels vulnerable and is cool with it. He’ll dig his hands into your hair, cup your cheek, his eyes will roll into the back of his head and he’ll tell you on a low moan what a good girl you are.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
So, let’s say you’re waiting to talk to him and he’s busy meeting with some people or whatever and you’re standing off to the side patiently. He just briefly glances at you before turning back to his comrades and BOOM. Next thing you know, he’s got you by the neck, has you pinned against his desk/table/whatever (this was originally a Hokage!Ita headcanon so do with that what you will), and is doing unspeakable things to you in front of everyone. No sooner does the encounter come to an end, than you suddenly wake up and find yourself still standing right where you were, until it happens again, and this time he takes you against the wall. It’s an illusion wrapped in an illusion wrapped in an illusion more times than you can count and when you finally do come to your senses, you can barely stand. The meeting is over. Itachi turns toward you, “You wanted to speak with me?”
Ah, yes. Good old Itachi mindfuckery.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
I mean, muscles, yes? Lots of them. Man’s fit as a fiddle. He’s a ninja. So, yes, the entire delicious length of him is covered in lean, firm muscle. He’s clearly well-endowed because… he just is. Maybe not the longest cucumber in the farmer’s market (which isn’t to say he isn’t long, because he is… don’t claim I called him short) but thick and veiny and above all else, attached to a man with a brain who knows how to use it efficiently. Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
This is a tough one, because the constraints are not on his drive, but on his time. He’ll take whatever chances he can to be with you. AM!Ita is established to have a very high sex drive, but he also has restraint, so when you’re not into it, he’s cool with it. As if that would ever happen. So, I would have to say, the actual encounters will unfortunately be far between because of his lifestyle, but he will always make up for lost time.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Kind of already mentioned this above, that those moments afterwards with you are his most vulnerable moments where he feels relatively safe and at ease, so he stays awake for a long time after, sorting through his thoughts. Also, he won’t say this to you, but it’s his job to protect you, so there is no way he’ll fall asleep before you do. Not gonna happen.

Fortunes of Love Pt 4 (Eda x OC)
Summary:
Everyone tries to figure out how exactly to handle Owl Beast Eda. Or, at the very least, get her to not kill them.
Pt 1  Pt 2  Pt 3  Pt 4
The house was dark, all the curtains drawn, and not even hooty made a sound. The door opened with only the slightest of creaks, but it was drowned out by Eda’s loud snoring. Two heads peaked through the door, taking in the form of the sleeping beast.
“So… That’s Eda?” Niliana asked. King nodded. “Alright then.” They closed the door gently and Niliana began pacing, trying to think up a plan. She didn’t really know anything about… well, any of this! She didn’t know anything about curses, beasts, how she was supposed to act around something like Eda in her owl form, how she was supposed to handle any of this. But she promised to help and she couldn’t let anyone get hurt. She sighed.
“Alright, first thing first, we DON’T wake her up. No one is going to react well being startled awake like that. Can you handle that?”
“Of course! That I can do! I just won’t go inside. Ever.”
Niliana just looked at him for a moment.
“That… seems unreasonable, but okay. I’m going to sit inside with Eda. When Luz gets back, make sure you warn her and tell her to be quiet.”
“Can do!” King gave a mock salute before running off. He sat underneath one of the nearby trees. Once he was settled he gave Nily a little wave. She sighed through her nose, turning away so he wouldn’t see the look of exasperation on her face. Once again, she opened the door, closing it behind her softly.
She took in the room for a moment, taking note of anything that looked important and fragile. She didn’t want anything of Eda’s to break. Thankfully, nothing of the sort was in sight. She decided it was best to take her boots off at the door, putting them to the side neatly. She left her staff by the door as well, leaning against the wall. Her footsteps were padded by the dense carpet as she made her way to the couch, having to scoot around the giant feathery being that took up quite a bit of the room. She sat with a sigh, propping her elbow on her leg and resting her chin in her hand. For a moment she just watched Eda sleep, thinking.
She didn’t know a lot about Edalyn Clawthorne. Sure, they went to school together and were in the same track, but their interactions were minimal. At the time she was definitely one of the quiet kids. She largely kept to herself and was honestly afraid of being noticed, especially by her fellow students. To her, Eda was the most confusing person. Who would ever want to cause that much trouble on purpose? Who would want to have so many eyes on her, constantly watching and judging? She acted like it was nothing! Like it didn’t even matter what others thought of her. All she cared about was having fun and enjoying herself.
When she was younger, Niliana almost hated her for it. She went through her days doing everything within her power to avoid the other girl, actively taking routes through the halls that she was least likely to be in, walking away whenever she spotted the familiar splash of orange hair, all of that. She cringes now just thinking about it. She regretted so much of her childhood and one of her greatest regrets was not realizing just how much she actually admired Eda until she had already left. She regretted not reaching out and at least trying to be her friend.
Well, her Mama always said it’s better late than never.
She froze when the beast let out an odd sound, a soft chirping of some sort. She shifted in her spot, curling up a little more, before going still once more. It was a few more minutes before Niliana let herself relax. She realized it may be some time before Eda actually woke up. Owls were nocturnal creatures, after all, and she looked rather comfortable.
She waved her hand, forming a teal circle in the air. From the circle materialized a wooden box, settling in her lap. She opened it, rummaging through till she found what she was searching for, a large piece of fabric, one of the ones. Eda had gotten for her from the human realm. She found the needle she had also stashed away and got to work.
Sure, she could have made her stuffed animals with magic. She knew how well enough. But there was something about making something with her hands that relaxed her, the repeated motion of the needle moving through the fabric, watching something form from nothing but pieces of cloth. It made her swell to see the final product come out well, and she loved it even more to see others enjoy her cute little animals. It was the thought that something she so enjoyed making could bring joy to others as well.
It was a couple of hours later when she heard the front door open again. Luz poked her head through cautiously, looking uncertain. King was close behind her, looking just as uncertain. Nily sighed, putting her work away. She’d have to come back to it later. She got to her feet and made her way to the door, ushering the two away so she could actually get through the door.
“Is Eda really stuck like that for FIVE DAYS?!” Luz said almost immediately, clinging onto the witch’s arm. She looked like she was on the verge of tears, just staring up at Nily with her big brown eyes. The witch smiled kindly at her, giving the girl a hug. She clung to her shoulders, body shaking.
“Yes, she is,” Nily admitted. “But it’s not forever. Only a few days and she’ll be back. Until then, I know we can figure it out.” Luz nodded, stepping back and wiping at her eyes. “Hey.” The girl looked up to her again. “It’s going to be okay.” The girl smiled, reassured. Nily smiled back, ruffling her hair.
“Alright, you two.” Nily said, standing up a bit straighter with her hands on her hips. “Eda is still sleeping and probably will be till night. It’s probably best if we don’t wake her, so you can either stay outside or come inside and be very quiet. Once she does wake up, we’ll need to be very careful until we’re sure she’s not going to be attacking anybody. If she does try something, then I’ll … I’ll just have to trap her with my magic until we find a way to calm her down. Sound good?”
They both nodded, looking determined. She nodded back.
“Alright. I’m going back inside for now. I’ll probably be starting dinner soon, too, so don’t go too far.”
She headed back to the house, two pairs of footsteps following her a moment later. They all entered the house quietly. Nily sat back on the couch, taking out her wooden box once more. While she did that, King and Luz quietly watched the sleeping form of Eda’s owl form. A was a bit before they seemed to gain the courage to walk past her and head for the hallway past the far end of the couch.
“I’m going to do some homework.” Luz whispered. Nily nodded and watched the girl vanish into the hall. King looked like he was about to follow but stopped, glancing back to Eda, then to Nily, then back to the hall. In the end, he climbed onto the couch, curling up next to the witch for a good nap. She smiled softly at that, petting his back before taking out her project.
----------------------------------
Eda stirred, giving a big yawn and stretching, her wings brushing against the sealing and claws digging into the carpet. She shook out her feathers, letting out a humming sound, and looked around, sniffing the air.
Home.
But there was a sound, odd and unfamiliar. There was an odd smell in the air, meaty and hot, and underneath the smell of another creature. She started growling.
Not safe! Intruder! Protect my home! Leave!
She followed the smell through the dark house, her fangs bared and a snarl in her throat. It was nearby, so close, but the room was shrouded in light, far too bright for her to see properly. She screeched at the bright light, shutting her eyes and shaking her head, but she refused to back up. She may not be able to see, but she could still smell the intruder easy enough and hear them move. They were backing up from her and she could almost taste the fear.
She snarled at them, taking a step forward. There wasn’t enough room in her current spot to attack properly. She could feel the walls against her wings even when they pressed close to her body. The intruder made a sound, soft and non-threatening, but Eda didn’t care. She just wanted them out!
She squeezed her way out of her tiny spot, into the open room where she could move better. It still wasn’t ideal, she couldn’t stretch her wings out properly, but she was in a much better position. She could easily pounce or swipe at them and that was enough.
For a moment she stayed frozen, body tense as she listened intently. She tried opening her eyes, just enough to squint at her surroundings. It was difficult, but she could just make out a dark shape that moved slightly. She lunged, hands coming down on the empty floor. She whipped around, searching. She could hear the stumbling footsteps to her side and swiped at the sound, snarling and screeching at it. She heard them stumble back with a yelp. They were moving farther away, towards the darker room.
She kept pushing them back. If she could get them in the dark, she could see her target better. It was almost too easy, but she was finally able to open her eyes without them burning. The room she had woken up in was covered in cool darkness and she could see the invader clearly. They were one of those two-legged creatures, the ones that seemed incapable of just leaving her alone.
Her ears twitched. She could hear more footsteps nearby, stomping and loud. She screeched, whipping around to face the new intruders, another slightly smaller two-legged creature and a tiny demon. It only took her a quick look over for her to decide they weren’t as much of a threat as the first intruder. So she turned back to them, body tensing to pounce.
There was a flash of light, a circle in the air and instinct told her that wasn’t good, that the circle spelled her doom. So she tried to pounce, to stop them, only to abruptly run into a wall. She growled and huffed, shaking her head, ready to attack again.
But she couldn’t.
Around her was an orb of light, tinting the world a shade of teal. She was trapped.
-------------------------
Niliana let out the breath she didn’t know she was holding. Well, that was certainly something.
“Nily!”
Luz and King ran to her, wrapping their arms around her. Well, King did his best but ended up hugging her leg instead. She hugged them back.
“It’s okay guys, I’m fine.” She reassured them. “Eda’s fine, too.”
On cue, they heard the owl beast screech and turned to see her trying to fight against her bubble prison. She stopped struggling after a few moments, glaring at them with her big black eyes.
“I think I’ll just leave her in there for a little bit. We can see if she’s calmed down after dinner.”
“We can try feeding her!” Luz offered, eyes shining.
“Mmmm, maybe. We’ll see if she’s calmed down first.”
“Is something burning?” King interrupted them. Nily sighed.
“Probably. I left dinner on the stove.”
She left to finish that, leaving the other two to do whatever they chose to do. They ended up staying in the living room for only a few moments before following her into the kitchen. The owl beast in a bubble was definitely an odd sight, one King was more than happy to poke fun at, but ultimately they decided her best chance at calming down would be leaving her alone for now.
Dinner that night was probably the best they had in quite a while. As much as they loved Eda, she was not much of a cook. King was shoveling the food, some sort of meat and vegetable concoction, straight into his mouth, the fork lying forgotten on the table. Luz wasn’t much better, but at least she used utensils. The girl went on and on about her day at school, excitedly recounting an incident where an abomination went rogue. Her arms flung about as she retold the story, almost hitting King in her excitement several times. Each time he made a noise of annoyance.
Nily did her best to listen, but truthfully her mind was elsewhere. She could still hear Eda in the other room, huffing and chittering to herself, probably still attempting to escape her confinement. She had absolutely no idea how she was supposed to get through to her. She had thought she would have at least the vaguest of ideas when she saw how exactly Eda acted in this form, but nope. In this moment she really wished she had bothered at least a little bit of beast keeping. Maybe she should visit the library tomorrow and check out a few books. Of course, that didn’t help with tonight.
King finished first, but he was determined not to go into the living room alone, so he waited until Luz was done. And Luz didn’t want to go until Niliana was done and could go with them. So, they all went in together. The lights turned on as they entered the room.
Eda laid still in her bubble, looking rather downtrodden. It appeared that she had given up on the whole escape thing. Her eyes were on them the moment they left the kitchen, her fangs bared at them. Niliana sighed, rubbing a hand over her face. She really hadn’t expected her day to turn out like this. She stared at the creature who stared right back. She seemed to dislike her the most, which was at least a little comforting. It meant that she wouldn’t go after Luz or King first.
“She’s not calm enough yet.” Nily decided.
“So, what do we do? Eda can’t just stay in a bubble for five days!” Luz looked up to her for answers. So, she thought. They needed Eda to at least withstand their presence.
“Maybe we should try … just spending some time around her.” Niliana said. “Maybe if she just got use to us being around then she can just ignore us.”
“I had some glyphs I wanted to practice! Hold on!” She rushed off, stumbling up the stairs, no doubt to collect her work. Thankfully, Niliana had her own stuff to work on as well. She sat on the couch and got her box back out. King jumped onto the couch by her side, watching her get all her supplies out.
“Soooo…” He piped up. “Whatcha making? A minion of evil?!”
“It’s going to be an owl.”
King scoffed.
“That doesn’t look anything like an owl! Where's its wings? Or its feet?”
“I’m not yet. This is just the head. I just need to finish attaching the beak then I can sew on the eyes.”
“Wait, that’s just the head!” King said, astonished. The bundle of fabric she had was almost as big as King’s own head! Nily just nodded.
“I haven’t made something this big in a while.” She admitted.
It was around then that they could hear Luz stomping back down the stairs, running into the living room with a bright smile and her arms full of papers. She dropped them on the floor, plopping herself next to the couch.
“Watch this!” She said, grabbing a piece of paper and drawing a glyph on it. She gave it a tap and the paper crumbled into itself, morphing into a ball of light. Nily gave an impressed “huh”. She didn’t even know humans could do magic. Though, it made sense. Eda wouldn’t have taken her on as an apprentice if she didn’t think it was possible.
King tugged on Nily’s shirt.
“Hey, hey, look at Eda!” he said, giggling to himself.
Eda was staring intently at the ball of light, enraptured by the shiny orb. She gave a curious little chirp, squishing her face into her bubble to try and get closer. Luz laughed at the sight and Nily couldn’t help but let out her own little chuckle.
“Do owls like shiny things?” She pondered. King just shrugged.
“I don’t know, but Eda does!”
She thought that over as Luz made a few more balls of lights, looking delighted as Eda chirped and followed each orb with her black eyes, their light reflected in the inky depths. Finally, she nodded to herself.
“I think I’m gonna let her go now.” She warned the others as she drew a circle in the air. They didn’t really have time to respond before the bubble silently popped, dropping the owl beast to the floor with a soft thump. For a moment, they all tensed up, waiting to see what Eda would do.
She let out a coo, ruffling her feathers and shaking her head. She turned those inky black eyes to the three of them, head tilted to the side. It looked like she was thinking, face scrunching up. She got to her feet, taking a step towards them and sniffing the air. For a moment she just stared, eyes roaming from one to the next. Finally, what seemed like hours later but was probably just seconds, she turned away from them, her attention drawn back to the balls of light. She batted at one of them, letting out a little coo.
Everyone relaxed, the tension in the air dissolving. Luz smiled up at Niliana, eyes shimmering with the threat of tears. She didn’t say anything but the witch understood, smiling back.
Everything was going to be okay.

TW: Suicide
So I did something. This is my way of paying homage to every one who ever considered suicide, as someone who has gone through quite a lot (from body shaming to having an ED to suicide attempts) writing was always my escape and I hope that everyone who is struggling will understand that you are not alone, you are loved and we are all here for you....
You wanted to be able to tell the difference between love and affection for a person but how could you know the difference if all you’ve been subjected to in your life is neglect and rejection wrapped in a pretty cover.
You wanted to believe that the world was not all bad and that there was still good left in it, but how can you, when all you’ve been treated with is scorn and disappointment.
You were still a child when your family’s fortunes came tumbling down like a house of cards, still a child when bookies came to see your father, still a child when you heard your parents fighting as the night fell, you were a child when you were body-shamed, still a child when the people you considered to be your friends sold you out for someone shiny and brand new, still a child when your parents placed an unreasonable amount of pressure on you, still a child when you crumbled under the weight of their disappointment and when you finally thought that you would be free, your mind became your worst enemy.
You wanted to be able to run away from the constant fear and pain your mind put you through, every single moment of every single day but how can you run away from yourself.
Your body started to feel like lead, you were exhausted but nothing seemed to stop the pain, not the wounds that you opened, neither the bitter drinks that burned your insides nor the large pill you took every night put your worries to bed no-nothing seemed to work, when finally after months of living in your version of hell, you had had enough of this constant torture and so you decided that you would end it.
You didn’t want it to come this far, it was simply a way for you to control the pain you feel inside but your voice had been replaced by demons that live beside you. They whispered into your ears, “ You’re worthless, no one loves you! You are a burden to this world. Die! Die! Die!” After spending too long trapped in this darkness you started to feel as if the demons were now real and so you took away this never-ending cycle of pain by simply cutting a bit too deep into your wounds and alas you got what you desperately wished for, peace.
You had believed that no one would’ve cared but you were deeply mistaken, the first one that stumbled upon your cold and limp body was your sister. Your sister took one look at the bloody mess of your hands and feet and fell to her knees in pain.
Her elder sister, her lively, happy, funny sister was dead and she couldn’t believe that she had lost you. On hearing the sister’s screams of pain the mother came rushing in to demand what all the ruckus was about and stopped dead in her tracks on seeing her beloved first child’s corpse. Tears began flowing down her cheeks and her knees buckled from underneath your mother and she fell as well to the ground.
The mother’s sobs were soft and heartbreaking but as she lifted her shaky hands to reach for her daughter’s body she realises her baby was gone and screamed in anguish and ran out of the room to call the father or an ambulance. Your mother was afraid and in an incredible amount of pain and shock so she quickly called an ambulance and then your dad but out of all the people that you thought would be grateful that you were gone you always thought that your dad would be the happiest but the minute he got the call from your mother his spine froze and he rushed from work in a daze talking to himself and telling himself that it was all some sick joke, once he reached your house and he heard the screams coming from you mother and sister he felt his heart squeeze and all the air at once was taken away from him. He collapsed at the sight of you in your mother’s arms bleeding out of your wrists and at once started praying that this was all a nightmare that he would soon wake from but there was no escaping this gruesome reality that you were gone from his life, his beautiful, smart, quick-witted daughter that he had waited for in his life had vanished and he hated himself for not realising that you were in pain.
On seeing your father your mother screamed louder almost as if this version of reality had also set in on her and your father walked into your room and saw your eyes, devoid of that life, he saw your unsmiling face and your slashed wrists and he couldn’t help but walk out of the room, silent. The weight of his failure as a father was crushing him and every moment he spent in your room among your things reminded him of it. He picked up the phone that you had left outside your room and held it with reverence. He opened it and called your friends one by one, telling them of what had happened to you.
The first one that picked up was your best friend. She was expecting a call from you but the news she received was not what she was expecting. Your dad told her that you had taken your life and your friend’s ears started ringing and her heart started aching with pain, she asked again and again if it was real and your father remained silent, your friend cut the call and called the rest of your friends and everyone was in a state of shock at the news that you were indeed gone from their lives.
You were their life, the shining beacon of hope, a symbol of happiness and silliness but now you would never entrance them with another one of your silly stories or give them advice. Your best friend started sobbing and rushed over to your house, her parents were also in shock on hearing that you were gone. Your friend on racing to your house saw the ambulance and police cars lined up in your driveway and the tears kept falling as she thought of you, all the moments you had shared, all the laughs, she looked at her phone and saw your last text and felt deep sadness in her as she read the “I love you” you had sent.
Your father was tired and weak after hearing what your friends said about you and how none of them knew that you were going through something, he had had enough of pity and he walked to the front door as the ambulance was reaching your home, the siren blaring with a sense of urgency that felt hopeless now and he sat on the steps that you loved sitting on, he remembered the way that you used to sit there and stare at the stars and he cried, he cried for you, your smile, your laugh, your silver tongued remarks but most importantly he cried for his daughter that he lost all because you were in an unbearable amount of pain and because he failed to remind you that wherever you go you took his heart with you and that the amount of  pain you felt could’ve been eased if only you had spoken about it or if he had noticed but there is no point in telling you what could’ve been if you hadn’t left, for you left in peace leaving everyone in pieces.
Tagging everyone one of ya’ll that likes my fics because all of ya’ll need to know this!

While business slows down in the boutique, I hurry along on finishing last-minute tasks before the weekend. The goal is to get all of these orders done before closing.
“Hey, Lauren?” I shout for my best friend as she finishes stocking up the backroom for the weekend.
“Yeah?” She calls distantly.
“Could you bring me two of those navy cardigans when you come back out?” I recite, looking over the shipment list in front of me.
“Sure thing!” She complies.
Today is my eighteenth birthday. To celebrate, my older brother, Brady, is taking me out to the disco with our friends. It’ll be the first time I can go out to a club and drink. That’s not the most exciting part of today either! I’m officially an adult, a functioning, independent, member of society. My brother and his friends will no longer see me as the youngest who’s in constant need of looking-after. Brady has always been overprotective, but Lauren has tried to help convince him that I can take care of myself. Lauren and Brady have been dating since they were in high school, almost five years now. They’ve graduated from college and Lauren is eager to be married. In my opinion, it’s only a matter of time. I can’t see either of them with anyone else. Plus, I already consider Lauren my sister.
Lauren appears out from the backroom with a bright grin as she joins me at the register counter. “So, are you excited?”
“Yes! It’s going to be so much fun!” I gush, practically bursting. “Finally after four years of watching you guys go out with me, I can join!”
She gives me a knowing look, “did you ever end up showing your brother that dress you picked out?”
I bite down on my lip, pretending to return my attention to the order sheets in front of me. I can already hear her reprimanding, Brady’s too when he sees the bright red off the shoulder dress I picked up yesterday from the shop down the street. The fact that it’s off the shoulder will go over like a led balloon.
Lauren’s jaw drops, “Y/N!”
“I know, I know,” I sigh, trying my best to avoid a lecture. Moving around to the other side of the counter, I head to the office with the order sheets.
Lauren follows on my heels, “he’s never going to let you go, especially if you step out of your room in that dress and those matching heels you bought!”
“But it’s my birthday!” I plead, turning to face her with puppy-dog eyes. “My eighteenth, the most important one! It’s my first night as an adult.”
Lauren sighs defeatedly and I continue to express a poor, pitiful, pout. I can tell she’s on my side, but she also doesn’t want to go against her boyfriend. I understand her predicament, yet then again, my brother can be unreasonable too.
“I’ll see what I can do,” she offers, rubbing her temples stressfully.
I jump up and down, pulling her into a hug. “Thank you! Thank you! Oh, thank you!” I repeat profusely. If Brady is going to listen to anyone, it’s her.
“Ah, ah, ah, don’t get excited just yet,” she parts from me with a stern expression. “Your brother won’t be happy. I will vouch for you, but it’s up to you to stay in line. Tonight is your chance to really prove to Brady that you’re not a baby anymore.”
I nod my head frantically, “yes, yes, of course! Tonight will be perfect! Promise!”
Lauren narrows her eyes with a smirk, unconvinced. She hums, taking the sheets of paper from me to put them in the office.
Tonight will be perfect! I can feel it. I’ve been waiting for this night ever since I can remember. After tonight, everything will be different.

As I listen to my Gloria Gaynor record, I stare at my reflection in my full-length mirror. More specifically, I admire the red satin dress that hangs off my shoulder. It’s everything I imagined it would be. As I think about it, it’s funny, I don’t feel any older, I don’t look any older, yet I feel different.
Over the music, I hear a series of knocks on my bedroom door. "You coming, Y/N?” Brady calls from the other side. “Lauren and the others are here!"
"In a minute,” I announce, lowering the volume of my music. “I have to do my makeup!"
"You look fine as you are!" My brother insists as I hurry into my bathroom. "Besides, someone is really excited to see you..." he insinuates.
"I have to look immaculate,” I argue, rushing to put on my makeup in front of my skin. “Plus, Jay can wait!"
Working as fast as I can, I follow a makeup tutorial Twiggy did for Cosmo. It’s crucial I perfect my eyeliner and large lashes.
"We're just going to the disco," he huffs, growing impatient. He would never last as a girl.
"It's my eighteenth birthday!” I remind him. “It's the first time I can drink and actually go into a club. Let me do what I want!” I then shoo him away, "go entertain your friends downstairs!"
"You have ten minutes!” He announces as a form of compromise. "Everyone's waiting for us!"
Mouthing the words to Gloria’s latest album, I’m practically dancing already and we’re not even at the disco yet! If only tonight could last forever. I want to ponder every minute, every second because tomorrow will be just another day and the magic will be gone.
Sirius
James stopped by my apartment to go over things for his wedding to Lily, but I have other plans.
"A disco?" James repeats with a frown, rolling over to lay onto his stomach on my bed. “And why would we want to do that?”
"Muggles really love them!” I tell my best friend as I move about my bedroom to get ready. “Plus, it’s the start of summer! We are officially Hogwarts graduates, what better way to celebrate!”
"Why can't we just go to a bar in Diagon Alley?" He reasons.
"You'll like this place, promise! Muggle music…” I struggle to describe it. “It’s unlike anything I've ever heard before!"
"But muggles are so... mundane,” he shakes as though he just caught a chill at the thought of them.
"I invited Remus and others too," I mention, certain that'll help convince him to come.
"At least we'll know people, I suppose," he shrugs, at least now considering the idea.
"Just give it a chance, James. Watch, after tonight you're going to want to spend every night of our summer holiday there!" I predict, nearly positive it’ll happen.
"Oh alright,” he complies with a huff, rising up from my bed to get ready. “I guess we don't have anything better to do," he grumbles on his way to the door. "Plus, we won't have to worry about any Death Eaters joining in on the fun."

I hurry down the stairs, to join Brady and his friends, Jay, Adam, and Henry, in the living room. The boys and their girlfriends have already started drinking while listening to some Queen in the background. They’ve gathered around on the couches and armchairs as they’ve done countless times before and after going out together. My brother is the only one standing, leaning against the fireplace mantel with a glass of scotch. Brady is the first one to notice me enter the room, he takes in my appearance in a scan of his eyes and waves me over. Clenching his jaw, he downs the remainder of his drink.
“What are you wearing?” He asks rhetorically, wasting no time to reprimand me.
“A dress,” I sass.
“Cute,” He remarks sharply, not finding amusement in my response. “Go change, now.”
“Oh come on, please,” I beg, taking his hand pleadingly. “It’s not that revealing and it’s my birthday!”
He shakes his head, pointing toward the steps. “Go, hurry up.”
“One night! One night and I’ll return it first thing tomorrow!” I negotiate.
He glances between me and his empty glass, twirling around the leftover ice cubes, clearly debating whether he should accept my offer.
“Please…” I mutter, pouting dramatically to get a rise out of my brother.
He huffs and turns to the group. "Alright!” He shouts to gain their attention.” All eyes shift to me and my brother. “Jay, boys, I need to keep an eye on Y/N,” Brady commands of his buddies as he wraps an arm around my waist protectively.  “It's her first night out and the last thing she needs is uninvited attention, especially from wizards," he mutters the last part with disgust.
I look up at my brother in confusion. “Do you think they'll actually go to a human club?" I ask him, the idea never once crossing my mind.
Wizards don’t really interact with us. In fact, they’ve created a whole other system and lifestyle apart of our own to avoid us. Different schools, stores, forms of government. I would imagine they have discos of their own.
Lauren steps forward, "they're actually considered human-"
"Lauren!" My brother barks, causing his girlfriend to bite her tongue.
"That's debatable," Brady’s best friend, Jay, grumbles disdainfully, focusing on the drink in his hand.
Henry and Adam hum in agreement, looking at Brady like he’s a preacher.
"If we do see some, just stay clear, okay?" Brady orders strictly. Based on the sharpness of his stare, I best not test him.
"How will I be able to tell?" I mumble, having only seen a wizard once or twice my whole life, at least consciously.
According to Brady, and the others, wizards have the uncanny ability to appear normal just like us. However, in recent years, there’s been trouble amongst the wizard race. There’s a group of wizards who want their society and ours to be completely separate. My family and Brady’s friends are quite fond of the idea. In fact, most people are too. It’s such a frequent topic in the news,  in addition to the tensions surrounding it,  that I’ve grown annoyed by the dramatics.
"Believe me, you'll know,” Brady assures. “They're so dependent on their magic that they can't help but use it."
"Okay, I will..." I mutter, wondering if I’ll truly see magical-beings tonight.
