The void is The quantum field?

I found out about the void back in november 2023 on pinterest, and I joined tumblr because of it. Last night, I came across a tiktok video with the title "how to know if you're in the quantum field in your joe dispenza meditation". It hits me when she mentioned the word "nothingness" because the void is basically also the nothingness. The void is being everything and NOTHING at the same time. And I thought does that mean the quantum field and the void are the same thing? so if we do joe dispenza quantum field meditation we can get into the void? So you can simply go into the void/quantum field thru his meditation? I'm not promoting doctor joe dispenza or anything i wouldn't call myself an expert im just someone in the void community. Yess, the void has many different names to it and the " Quantum Field " is one of them. I've read becoming supernatural by Dr Joe dispenza and it's phenomenal. Hi! I'm new around here (but not new to jikook) and I saw your recent posts where you linked to, among other things, a post where you talked about the 2016 jinmin vlive where they were watching jk on celebrity romance. And I just wanted to say thank you for bringing that up! I think that vlive is wildly underrated. It tells us so much about jikook's relationship at the time. Camera Weight

oooh once again, if i'm not given something, i'm just going to keep pushing out the minwon mutual gain fics because something about them has my brain like hardwired rn sdfjhs i hope y'all don't get sick of me writing them in situations like this. i mainly write scenarios that get my rocks off so a lot of them are similar because i like this stuff SDFJS

The setting for this one is that Wonwoo is an office worker who didn't end up going to the office post pandemic so works from home and Mingyu is a mukbanger. You can see where I'm going here.

Wonwoo closed the laptop that he had for work, making sure that the fake smile he wore stayed on for a couple of moments even after being aware that the camera was long hidden. When he heard the sound of the device powering down, he let out a sigh of relief.

Every work meeting was so tiring. He could only be so amused in seeing Seungkwan and Soonyoung butt heads and it seemed that Jihoon shared the same sentiment considering he looked just as tired when the meeting finished. When the team leads had such vast creative differences, it was a miracle any work could be done.

The miracle in question being named Jeon Wonwoo. Looking at his wristwatch, Wonwoo hurriedly pushed his laptop to the side as he started his home desktop, a set up that was used for much more important matters than organizing spreadsheets and data.

His phone buzzed and he saw Jihoon's contact name as well as a text: "Have fun on your date 😘" Wonwoo felt his face grow warm as he grimaced. Of course he would have slipped while drunk and accidentally confided one of his darkest secrets in a while to his best friend, but he didn't realize it was a free pass to jab at him whenever.

As his screen switched on, there was a small smile that came across his face as he opened Youtube, eager to see the face that he had grown a little parasocially attached to in the past couple of months. The wide smile of the other man pulled at the corners of his mouth as he watched him.

"Wow, it's like the turn out gets bigger for every live that I have!" He waved eagerly and Wonwoo shyly waved back at the screen, almost as if the other man could see him through it. Wonwoo reached for the bag that was at the side of his desk, pulling out his meal.

He had always been a peculiar case when it came to remembering to eat. In school, he had no problem with it because everyone around him ate around the same time but if there was no one to eat with, he just didn't feel the urge to. It was a rather atrocious habit to have but it didn't affect him all too much.

Until he got to work and working from home with his new position. Now, it wasn't out of the blue for him to work the whole day and spend his lunch playing games until Jihoon called him out for it because he was concerned at how much weight Wonwoo had lost in the past couple of months. He was well aware of his friend's habit when it came to eating so he recommended that tried just watching some mukbang streams on his lunch break so it was like he had company.

It was helpful actually! Slowly, he was remembering to eat and just eating properly in general. That was until he found Kimgyu. A mukbang channel that had grown in popularity around the time Wonwoo started paying attention. Originally, he just wanted to see what all the hype was about until he actually tuned in.

A fit, handsome young man who cooked meals for himself for videos and streamed his mukbangs afterwards. The meals he cooked looked good and honestly, Wonwoo admitted that the one making the meals looked even better so he became something of a dedicated fan.

"Today, I made a lot actually... I don't know if I can finish everything that's in here but we'll see." Wonwoo opened his own matching containers as he prepared to eat.

Did they mess up his order? It looked bigger than usual. As he popped a dumpling into his mouth, he shrugged it off since it tasted as good as it usually did. Kimgyu was rather popular for telling stories and anecdotes and realizing he shared a little too much on livestreams but the ditz factor was something that Wonwoo liked (and would rather die than admit).

Kimgyu slurped the noodles in his pan full of them and chewed while he read some responses, "Oh, you're going to get puffy if you're eating that much." A smile comes across his face, "Ah, you're talking about my face. I am getting a lot puffier in general though, don't you think?"

Wonwoo felt his face grow hot, watching Kimgyu show off his new belly in profile on the camera. It was starting to pooch out and he had barely eaten anything. That wasn't there when he first started watching him and... it was making him feel all sorts of things.

Squirming in his computer chair, Wonwoo felt the warmth spread into his system more as he listened, "I do work out still but honestly, I'm starting to explore dishes a lot more instead and I can only do so much cardio." There was a whining tone in Kimgyu's voice that sent shivers down Wonwoo's spine before he was interrupted. "Oh, but I think everyone's enjoying themselves lately it's fine!"

All the chat became a chorus asking why he came to that conclusion and Wonwoo was now hyperaware of the fat around his face, only making his pout more babylike. "I think everyone is just having better food these days! There's..." It was Kimgyu's turn to blush as the chat teased him and encouraged him to continue and he looked rather shy.

Wonwoo wiped his hands on his hoodie as he typed, 'There's what?'

The hand on Kimgyu's face hid a smile as he admitted, "You guys... need to make sure this stays between us. I'm not saying it in a mean way!" Wonwoo nodded, acting like it was a one-on-one conversation while he ate large bites of his rice bowl.

"There's a guy in my building and when I moved in a year ago, he was like... small. Which, there's nothing wrong with! But, he was around my height and I was worried like even the wind would blow him over. But, when I see him recently, he's gotten more sturdy so now, I think it's not like putting on weight is a bad thing."

The chat began to tease him and Kimgyu looked flustered as he explained hurriedly, "I- I mean he's always looked good but he looks even better n- I think I'm just going to stop talking about it." Stuffing his face with a large mouthful of noodles, Kimgyu stated, "So, don't worry about me getting puffy! I'm eating well."

The stream continued and Wonwoo was left wondering why he was feeling the most turned on he's felt in a while. Was... Kimgyu into guys that put on weight? It was one thing to know that he was into guys but it was another that it was a possible fetish as to why he had been getting bigger recently.

Wonwoo opened some videos after the stream, looking at the videos he found when he located Kimgyu's channel for the first time. His arm muscles were bulging because he admitted to doing cooking videos after his workouts. His pecs were large and firm, always making their presence known in his clothes and his ass was doing the same down lower.

But, in the recent videos, these same clothes showed just how much he had been enjoying those meals. Gone was the small waist that Wonwoo drooled over on a couple of occasions, replaced with something that was burgeoning with fat and pressing into his shirt by the end of his streams. At the end of today's, he could have sworn he saw golden skin spill out of the fabric and his hand slipped under his pants to stroke himself at the thought. He had been eating himself bigger everyday and let his massive internet fanbase know about it.

It was hard not to pay attention after. Seeing the way his gut was starting to rest on counters while he was mixing, making the appendage jiggle. Wonwoo couldn't really say that he was only watching because he needed the company to eat. He was watching because he was getting his rocks off on seeing Kimgyu get fatter with each passing week.

From the shots that lingered on his ass that only got wider and stretching the seams of his pants with each and every video or the belly that was no longer able to be contained in shirts, he was going to sleep to the sound of Kimgyu's voice, giving directions on how to cook kimchi fried rice that does good in a caloric deficit while his body showed itself to be in a heavy surplus.

He was still eating with him during the mukbang streams but Wonwoo found himself eating a lot longer considering Kimgyu's portion sizes were growing each time as well. But, it was hard not to get side tracked as he moaned about how full he was, even slipping his hand under his shirt to rub the bloated belly that Wonwoo had pictured plenty of times before seeing white in his vision.

It was a little upsetting he missed the final livestream celebration for his two million subscriber milestone. He was working overtime on a project and most people could sense the grumpy energy from Wonwoo as he typed away at his computer in the office.

"Yo." Jihoon's easygoing gesture was met with a rather cold side eye that would have swayed anyone away. Unfortunately for Wonwoo, Jihoon was well aware that Wonwoo just looked like that and it wasn't pointed... mostly.

"Remind me to never let Seungkwan and Soonyoung lead a project again." A chuckle comes from his friend, laughing at his misery. "Well, this was one of the company's biggest successes in a while so I have some bad news for you."

Wonwoo's groan must have been music to Jihoon's ears at the way his laughter sounded so triumphant before he said, "Let's go grab dinner. We're free tonight from their hell temporarily."

His original plan was to watch the stream VOD while getting dinner but he missed his friend so he shut down the computer after a couple of moments, making sure everything was in check. "Okay, your treat."

Wonwoo wasn't a heavyweight per say, but he definitely could handle his alcohol. He was prepared to get even with Jihoon constantly teasing him about his parasocial boyfriend and he had to hold his tongue at the way he was watching him put on weight over the past couple of months and the amount of things he's done to those videos.

So, using his wallet to get drunk and eat whatever he wanted was payback enough. Jihoon rolled his eyes as Wonwoo got out of his car with a little difficulty, stumbling from the alcohol he drank and the food that he ate. "Maybe mukbangs were a bad influence because I don't think any person should have that much food in one sitting."

Wonwoo smiled as he stuck his tongue out, "Sucks. You offered to pay." Jihoon smiled as he muttered some curses, "Get upstairs safely!" He drove off after watching Wonwoo enter the building but in the lobby, it was really starting to hit him how much he drank.

He felt himself swaying before something supported him. It was large and sturdy. "Are you okay? You're not walking straight and I saw you almost fall while going to the elevator."

Wonwoo hummed in response, "Mm, I'm fine. Just had a lot to drink so thanks for ca-" The words got caught in his throat when his eyes focused and he saw the face that was staring at him.

"Kimgyu-" The words left his mouth before he could realize and both of them looked rather flustered by the admission so plainly. Wonwoo moved away, albeit somewhat shaky and Kimgyu saw the movement before moving back, his hand placed at Wonwoo's waist, "Sorry, I'm not used to being called that in real life. Just call me Mingyu and... let me help you up."

His fans were right because the puppy dog eyes that were pleading were near lethal to him at this moment in time as Wonwoo conceded, "Thanks." Mingyu's smile was wide as he moved Wonwoo's arm around his broad shoulders and supported him the whole way.

It was a difficult trip considering Wonwoo was going insane feeling the immense presence of the man next to him and the realization that they lived in the same building. He felt Mingyu's belly pressing into his side and saw it sway in his peripheral with each step they took and they ended up in the elevator.

Mingyu awkwardly chuckled, "Y'know, it doesn't hit me that people know me until they say my username but thank you for your support..." He trailed off, almost expectant before Wonwoo nearly facepalmed, "Ah, my name's Wonwoo. Sorry, I was..."

"Starstruck?" Mingyu's smile was charming which was doing no favours considering Wonwoo was oogling the body that was lingering a little close to him.

Wonwoo sighed, a smile on his face, "Trying not to fall." Mingyu looked flustered that his attempt at flirting fell through before Wonwoo added, "And maybe a little." He could practically see a tail wagging from behind the other man before the elevator arrived at his floor.

He was feeling a little better already because the shock helped him sober up but as the door open, Mingyu was ready to head to his floor before Wonwoo asked. "Did... you want to come to my apartment? I'm sure there's something I can share with you."

He stepped out in case the invitation was declined and Mingyu smiled as he followed, "I know all I do on stream is eat but you don't have to offer me food." His stomach gurgled as he flushed, "But, I wouldn't say no."

Wonwoo chuckled warmly as they entered his apartment.

Despite the first time meeting, it was easy to talk to Mingyu. Wonwoo even surprised himself by saying why he started watching his videos in the first place and Wonwoo looked amused as he looked at the other man sitting next to him on the couch.

"Woah, are you crying? It's not that sad though?"

"Hyung, stop teasing me! It just makes me happy that I could help..." A sniffle broke the silence before Wonwoo laughed warmly, patting Mingyu on the shoulder.

"It's fine! I've gotten to eat regularly... just like you have been." A gentle pat on Mingyu's stomach that pressed into his lap. It was more sinful in person as he looked at the result of months of indulgence on the other man. His muscle was still there but there was a majority of fat that rested on his body.

Mingyu looked at him with a different expression as he leaned in closer and Wonwoo was ready to receive that body pressing against his. Although he froze when he felt a hand on his stomach and squeezed it, now aware of the excess fat that was on his own body.

Mingyu stopped, almost concerned at the reaction while Wonwoo rebooted, "Is it alright?"

Wonwoo moved his hand to Mingyu's, now aware of the spread of his gut as he stated quietly, "I... didn't realize I had gotten so big."

Mingyu seemed to be taken aback by the statement before the same look in his eyes popped up as he asked, "Where's your bathroom?" Wonwoo pointed to the closed door as he was flustered from standing so quickly as Mingyu took him.

Taking him to the mirror, Wonwoo stood in front while Mingyu stood behind him, feeling his gut pressing against the curve of his back as he took in the sight.

Everything was making more sense now. Why he was eating longer during Mingyu's streams. Why he took longer in the shower while cleaning himself. Why the bottom of his stomach felt cold when brushing his teeth. Why the floors creaked if he walked quickly to get his take out that he ordered. Why he got out of breath when taking the stairs for his one day a week at work.

He had gotten fat. Mingyu's hands cupped his belly and he gasped, "Remember when I said I was looking at the guy who got bigger? I was talking about you, hyung." Lifting his belly, the sound of the clothed protruding body part echoed in the bathroom as Wonwoo whimpered.

"It was one thing that you didn't even know you were getting bigger but this? You even burst a button and didn't even know." Mingyu's hand slipped into the gap of his button down that he didn't notice until now. Did Jihoon notice when this happened? Is that why he looked at him funnily after he ordered more food? Was the proof of his gluttony somewhere in the restaurant they went to?

Mingyu's hands played with Wonwoo's fat body as he whimpered from the touch. "Hyung, I did this by choice." He brought Wonwoo's hands to his own belly as he groaned, feeling Mingyu press him against the counter with their combined weight.

"But you? You did this without even realizing. Look how massive you are everywhere." Mingyu's hands roamed around Wonwoo's body, making him more aware of the fat that bulged all over him. His moobs that rested on his gut. They were properly rivaling Mingyu's and he moaned when the other man squeezed them.

"You won't ever fit into this again." Mingyu pulled the button down apart, ripping the buttons off as they were freed from the strain of Wonwoo's fat body as he braced himself on the counter, so horny it was hard to stand up. His plump ass ground into Mingyu's crotch, eliciting a sigh of pleasure from him before he felt Mingyu's hands on his waist, sinking into the fat as his belly pressed onto Wonwoo's back, gurgling from the snacks that he had filled up on.

Wonwoo looked in the mirror and saw how much they had both blown up in the past couple of months as the apex of his belly felt cool from the counter it was squishing against, spilling nearly all over the sink area as Mingyu grinded his crotch into Wonwoo's wide ass.

It was hard to last long when realizing just how much he had blown up and all the praise Mingyu was feeding him. He was already stuffed full of food and memories of how much he had done it before, rubbing his gut not even aware of how much his computer chair creaked after each meal because it was starting to strain to hold Wonwoo's obese body. He felt Mingyu convulse as the cloth now sounded wet and Wonwoo felt himself release at the realization that Mingyu was so turned on by how fat he was and how he felt their combined weight with his awareness and the way Mingyu jiggled as he rode out his high.

Catching their breaths, Mingyu clutched Wonwoo's stomach as it got a shuddering sigh from the other man.

"So, should I expect a guest for my next mukbang?"

i saw this, thought, 'this is fun, i'll do this later,' and proceeded to completely forget about it. thank you @sherrymagic and @chinzhilla for tagging me! i might take a little bit, but i eventually get there, and i had fun answering these.

do you make your bed? - nope. i remember one time when i tried making it into an habit, but to no avail.

what's your favourite number? - lucky number 3.

what is your job? - as of right now, i'm studying. i also occasionally translate articles and school papers (i know, surprising).

If you could go back to school would you? - honestly? yeah.

can you parallel park? - yes, but only if there are no cars behind me wanting to get through.

a job you had that would surprise people? - i don't know if it's surprising but i worked in a police station for like a year and a half during law school. it was actually my internship, but i did everything, so i will say it counts.

do you think aliens are real? - absolutely.

can you drive a manual car? - we learn how to drive in manual cars where i live, so yes. i do have an issue with inclines, though, but i can do everything else.

what's your guilty pleasure? - what is even a guilty pleasure, fr. nothing comes to mind, to be honest, and trust me i pondered over this for like almost 10 minutes.

tattoos? - unfortunately no. i do want to a haku on his dragon form on my shoulder, though.

favourite colour? - yellow.

favourite type of music? - pop, k-pop, r&b are genres i always go back to. during only friends, i started listening to a lot of alt/indie rock because of sand and khaotung's songs recommendations.

do you like puzzles? - as in jigsaw puzzles? yes. crosswords can be fun. i grow frustrated quite easily especially when there's a difficult puzzle on a video-game, so if i can't figure it out, i just skip it and move forward with my life.

any phobias? - i'm insanely scared of frogs (just found out it's an actual phobia, ranidaphobia). i guess claustrophobia, too, to some degree.

favourite childhood sport? - volleyball and handball. i was so good at those, but i got injured and had to quit.

do you talk to yourself? - yes, especially when i'm driving or riding my motorcycle.

what movie(s) do you adore? - i was thinking about this the other day, how all my favorites change depending on what phase i'm in, but the one constant has always been spirited away (2003, hayao miyazaki). i guess it's bc it's one of the first movies i ever watched that i could see myself in the protagonist, and it was the first one i could pinpoint as being my favorite. the ones i've been liking as of the last six months are la sociedad de la nieve and bottoms.

coffee or tea? - tea. any type of tea. coffee only if it's with milk (i'm lactose intolerant, but we ignore that)

first thing you wanted to be growing up - a dentist.

Chapter 25

If any of you lot are mad at me about how the last chapter ended, I get the feeling y'all hadn't read or finished reading the Witcher books. If you don't have them available, then I'd recommend reading a summary online. Also, I'm getting into the witcher video game territory from this point, so the story of the Lady of Larks and the White Wolf is still not over (if you've not played the games, I'd recommend watching clips on YouTube...also I'd REALLY recommend playing the games).

Also mentions of menstruation.

"Aemma?" Lucerys gently approaches the princess who was laying in the bed, caught in a state of depression, eyes dry for the first time in day, though it may not last long.

Ever since reading that message, after learning about the death of her mother, whom she had not seen for ten years, was killed in a Rivian pogrom, Aemma had spent her recent days locked up in her chambers, caught in a state between crying, screaming, and laying on her bed in a depressed stated. When the news had become common knowledge in the keep, the royal family was understanding and had given the young princess space and time to grieve her loss.

Alicent was prepared to postpone the nameday feast, but Aemond insisted the feast be cancelled altogether, on grounds that this was not the time for celebrations. Alicent had argued that this was still the prince's nameday, but Aemond assured he was fine with the feast not happening this year; it just didn't feel right to be setting up any festivities now when the princess was still mourning.

At this moment, days have started to turn into weeks, and nothing and no one could seem to console the daughter of Prince Daemon by the Lady of Larks. Whenever someone did come to check up on her, be it family or servants, they would notice the princess had taken to dressing in black, like she was prepared for a funeral. They would also take notice of the princess's disheveled state and dark circles under her eyes like she has not had a decent night's sleep for a while now. The servants had also taken notice that her food was often left untouched. 

There was truth in this observation: Aemma could not sleep at night no matter how much she tried. Every time she closed her eyes, she would dream she was in Rivia, or whatever Rivia looked like in her head (courtesy of the Continental geography texts she's read once or twice), and she would see the pogrom happen before her eyes. She would dream of people dead or dying as they were torn by the angry mobs...and among those that were running and panicking, she would see her mother standing out in the middle, lute in hand. "Mother!" Aemma would call out in her sleep, "MOTHER! RUN!" But her mother could not hear her, and no matter how fast Aemma ran, she could never catch up to her mother. Then, the witcher would appear, grabbing (y/n) by her throat, lifting her up till her feet were off the ground...and as she would struggle in the White Wolf's grasp, he would take his sword and plunge it into her heart.

Aemma would wake up every time this part of her nightmare occurred. She would then lay in bed the rest of the night, unable to sleep. The following mornings, Aemma would remain in bed, still tired, and having no appetite to break her fast whenever the servants brought tea and food.

"Aemma!" she finally hears Luke call her name as he's been doing repeatedly the last few minutes. Aemma turned around in her bed to see the little boy with a plate in hand that contained a slice of cake, "Luke?" "I brought some cake," Luke explains, setting it by the bedside, "It's honey cake, just the way you like it. I thought, maybe it might cheer you up a bit." "That is...really sweet of you, Luke," Aemma nods, sitting up, "but I'm not all that hungry right now." "But, Aemma, it's honey cake," Luke insists, "you like honey cake, it always makes you happy."

"Lucerys?" Luke turns around to see his mother and 'father' by at the door. Luke runs over to Rhaenyra, "she won't eat the honey cake I gave her," he says, sad tone in his voice. "Yes, little love, I know," Rhaenyra nods. "I don't understand," Luke admits, "why is Aemma so sad?" "She did just lose her mother," Laenor points out, "how would you feel if you lost your own mother right now?" Luke thinks about it, and nods, knowing he would feel the exact same way, "I hope I never lose you then, mother."

"Let me try talking to her," Rhaenyra whispers to her son, ushering him over to Laenor who escorts the boy out of the room.

Rhaenyra sat down on the side of the bed next to Aemma, who did not make eye contact with her older cousin. The older princess had to take a few deep breaths, feeling the weight of her current pregnancy which was due to end within the next several weeks, "It was tragic, what happened to your mother," Rhaenyra speaks, "she did not deserve such a fate. She was a good woman. She brought much joy and laughter to this court, she was a gifted troubaritz, a talented singer, something she had clearly passed onto you." Aemma said nothing, and still did not look Rhaenyra in the eye. Rhaenyra placed a comforting hand over Aemma's, "your mother loved you very much," she continues, "and I know it is a difficult time for you now...but you'll have to keep living your life sooner or later. This neglect of yourself...it won't bring her back, and she wouldn't want to see you like this." "I can't stop thinking about her," Aemma admits, shaking her head, feeling fresh tears slip out of her eyes, "I can't stop thinking about how she could've died, even when I sleep. All I can do is lie awake at night in this bed and stare into the canopy, reliving the nightmare of her fighting for her life on those streets. How could people be so cruel? It's not fair!"

"No, you're right," Rhaenyra agrees, "it's not fair." Aemma looked up, facing her cousin, "is this what you felt when your mother passed?" "...more or less," Rhaenyra admits, "her loss and the loss of the son she bore...it was heavily felt by both my father and myself. And I grieved for her too, much so that I was scared to live my life as she did, thinking I might meet a similar fate." "How did you not become so scared anymore?" Aemma asks. "I didn't," Rhaenyra shrugs, "but your father had talked some sense into me, I suppose. He said this is a tragic world, but if we close ourselves off from it in fear, we forsake the best parts of what the world has to offer."

Aemma noticed the way Rhaenyra was rubbing her swollen belly after speaking those words. So far the older princess had been pregnant twice, and both terms were successful. Aemma wasn't blind though; she knew what people said in court along with the salacious looks and whispers when the subject of Jace and Luke was brought up, and she could see it as well. Rhaenyra was enjoying what the world had to offer in the form of Ser Harwin Strong while her husband enjoyed life's offers in the form of wine, wealth, and the intimate company of handsome knights.

"Do you think this next one will be a boy?" Aemma inquires. "The maesters deem it highly likely," Rhaenyra answers, "their last predictions have come true so far, but for once I hope they would be wrong. I wouldn't mind raising a daughter for a change."

For the first time in weeks, Aemma smiled, albeit a small one, and Rhaenyra gave her a side hug. Shortly after Rhaenyra left her chambers, Aemma stood up and called for servants to help her bathe and dress for the day. She still wasn't fully done mourning, but at the same time Aemma didn't want to close herself off completely, especially when she knew deep down this what her mother would want.

While getting ready, though, Aemma felt a weird sensation in her middle region, like an odd pain. She's had stomach aches before from overeating or when she was hungry, but it wasn't quite that. She had been feeling somewhat drowsy since this morning; she'd had initially dismissed it thinking it was probably due to her lack of sleep, but if that was the case, she would've felt this sensation a long time ago.

"Aemma!" Luke exclaimed, running over to greet his cousin with a hug, "you're here!"

The boys had been in the middle of sword training when Aemma had decided to come outside. Also, Ivan had taken part of the sword training as well; the boy had shown he had talent in that area and was brought to the training fields with the princes under Ser Criston. Ivan was a fast learner, besting first Luke, then Jace, and Aegon, and even Aemond during sparring sessions. There had began to be talks that maybe Ivan would do well to become a squire either for Ser Criston, or even Ser Laenor. The boys had also come to accept Ivan into their circle, even Aemond though he still was of the belief that Ivan was hiding something.

In the present, Aemma was still dressed in black, but her hair was brushed and she was wearing her new necklace. "I didn't think you would leave you chambers again," Luke says, squeezing Aemma some more. "Yes, Luke, I'm...here," Aemma grunts out, "maybe not much longer if I can't breathe." "Oh, sorry," Luke pulls away, "did you eat the cake?" "I had a couple bites," Aemma admits, "it was delicious." Luke smiled at that.

"Aemma," Aemond runs over to his cousin, "are you feeling better?" "A little," Aemma admits, which she was thanks to Rhaenyra's pep talk, though the physical sensation in her lower abdomen wasn't quite helping, "It was a nice day, I thought some fresh air would do me some good."  Jace and Ivan join in to greet Aemma, but Aegon stayed behind.

Aegon hadn't gone to see Aemma at all since she found out about her mother's death, much to the dismay of Alicent, who often scolded her son for not even making an effort to comfort his future queen. Aegon didn't really handle drama and tears all that well (ironic as that may seem), it didn't seem in his best interests to visit Aemma when she was self-confined to her room in her depressed state. Now that she was out in public once more, Aegon had a feeling his mother was going to make him make up for his absence and be there for his betrothed.

After spending some time with the boys, Aemma saw Helaena was sitting outside, reading a book. The princess went to join her cousin. "You came out," Helaena said with a smile while also keeping her attention on a butterfly that landed on her book, "I heard what happened. Will you be well, Aemma?" "I may not feel so well right now," Aemma admits, mostly because she was still grieving, but also because that pain sensation in her lower abdomen hadn't faded like she expected it to; in fact, the pain was waxing and waning throughout the day, and it was making her feel bloated. "I will be, Helaena," Aemma assures, "it may take some time, at least that is what I was told."

"The Lark and Wolf are running with the Hunt," Helaena states in a monotone voice as she coaxes the butterfly into her hand, "only the Swallow can save them from their fate."

Aemma gave Helaena a strange look, though the younger princess did not seem to notice. "Helaena, do you ever remember what you say half the time?" Aemma decides to ask. "What was that?" Helaena looks up to Aemma, giving her an innocent look. "Never mind," Aemma decides to shrug off, trying to ignore the bloating sensation.

"Aemma?" Aegon says, walking up slowly to the girls. Aemma averted her gaze away from Aegon, not really in the mood to hear any empty words or false promises he would state whenever his mother would talk him into spending time with her. Aegon stood there awkwardly as he musters up the words, "uh, I hope you are doing well today." Aemma said nothing, she didn't even bother to look up at her older cousin the way she used to when they were children, "Uh, maybe some dragon riding today might do you some good," Aegon continues, "it might do Cirillia some good too...she probably misses you. And Sunfyre, I'm sure-"

"Aegon, just...save your empty words," Aemma says in a low tone, "you clearly don't want to be here and, frankly, I don't want you near me right now either." "That's not-" "Just go, Aegon!" Aemma snaps, "I don't want anything to do with you right now! Can you not take a hint?!" Aegon was taken aback; he's seen Aemma cross with him before, but she's never talk to him like that in that tone. Even when she slapped him back at the docks, she never actually raised her voice at him. Having nothing to say, Aegon turns around and eagerly walks away.

"Do you still want to go dragon riding?" Helaena asks, bringing Aemma out of her state of ire. "I uh...ooh," Aemma groans, "I'm not sure that's a good idea right now. Maybe I'm not feeling as well as I thought. At least not well enough to go riding." "Let me take you back inside," Helaena offers.

Once inside, Aemma made her way back to her chambers, now laying on the bed once more, but this time she was doubled over in pain.

The servants came to bring tea and food again, hoping Aemma would have enough appetite to eat this time around. One servant looked over to see something peculiar on the sheets. "Princess?" the servant speaks, "are you...?" Aemma gave a strange look and looked to see where the servant was looking on the bed, exactly where she was sitting. Blood spots were on the sheets. They were small and Aemma lifted her skirts slightly to see her thighs were lightly stained with blood. Aemma was about to panic at first, but then realized what this meant.

The princess then looked over to the servant, feeling a tad awkward, "I uh...I think I'm going to need a cloth for this." The serving girl nodded and went to do just that.

Aemma knew then this was it, the day she had been waiting for, somewhat reluctantly. From this moment on, she would be seen in the eyes of her family and the court as a woman.

A little later in the afternoon, Aemma had sat down to sip some tea; the princess had taken a hot bath, both to soothe what she now knew were cramps that were associated with moon's blood and to clean the blood off her thighs. Once word had spread that Aemma had gone through her first flowering, a maester had sent a special tea to Aemma to soothe her cramping pains.

Aemma heard a knock at the door after she sipped the tea, "Come!" "Princess," she hears Alicent's voice as she walks in and takes a seat next to Aemma, "I heard from the maester. Congratulations are in order, it would seem." "Thank you, your Grace," Aemma nods with a soft tone. "Do you know what this means, Aemma?" Alicent asks. "I am a woman now," Aemma answers, "I can wed Prince Aegon and bare his children."

"Yes," Alicent nods, "you will become his wife and have his children...and you will become his future queen as well." Aemma looked up to Alicent, surprise, "but the king made princess Rhaenyra heir to the Iron Throne," she points out. "Rhaenyra may be Viserys' oldest child," Alicent agrees, "but Aegon is his firstborn son. In the eyes of the Westerosi lords and the common folk, he will be expected to succeed your uncle as king." "But...I don't understand," Aemma shakes her head, "my uncle has never changed the line of succession, even after Aegon was born. He is king, his word is law, the people surely would see that Rhaenyra is his named heir, they can't-" "Aemma!" Alicent raises her voice, only to take a deep breath before she said something she would later regret.

Alicent decides to take a different approach, "you know your history, Aemma. Do you remember what was taught to you about your great grandsire, the late King Jaehaerys?" Aemma nods before she answers, "he ascended the throne after the untimely death of Maegor the Cruel, at the age of fourteen. Fourteen years. That's...that's how old I am right now." "Go on," Alicent presses. "Jaehaerys was known as the Conciliator at the start of his reign," Aemma continues, "he married his sister, the Good Queen Alysanne. They had many children together, two of them being my grandparents Prince Baelon and Princess Alyssa. His two oldest living sons perished in two different tragedies, and his third was a reclusive archmaester who spent his days buried in his books at the Citadel. With the line of succession called into question, the king had called for a great gathering at Harenhal, known as the Great Council of 101, to decide who would next sit the Iron Throne. There were two names that were truly considered: my uncle Viserys...and his cousin the Princess Rhaenys."

"I don't believe I need to tell you who the Great Council had chosen in the end," Alicent says, "even though Rhaenys, a woman, was Jaehaerys' eldest living descendent, the lords had chosen Viserys as their next king. The ancient law of the Andals had established long ago that the rights of the son will supersede those of a daughter. The Great Council further solidified this ancient tradition, and it will be the same for Aegon and Rhaenyra." "But in Dorne, the first born always inherits their parent's possessions and wealth, regardless of sex," Aemma points out. "This is not Dorne," Alicent points back.

"Well, maybe it should be!" Aemma snaps, "Rhaenyra is the king's eldest, and he made her his heir. So just because she is a woman, she should be overlooked? Because of some ancient law and tradition? Even those can change. In Westeros, many of the Lords had long exercised the rights of First Night, an ancient tradition that had been carried out since the time of the Andals and First Men, but after Queen Alysanne listened to the plights of women in the North who sought out her council, she spoke to King Jaehaerys, and he had the First Night tradition abolished thereafter. Why can't the current king overrule the Andals' archaic law that would see Rhaenyra disinherited from her birthright?" 

"Don't be so naive, Aemma," Alicent scolds, "as I've said before, the people will expect Aegon to succeed his father, not Rhaenyra...and the princess knows this. Even now, she has come to see Aegon as a challenge to her claim...and she will see you in the same light once you are wed." "...What?" Aemma looks to the queen confused. "Once you wed Aegon, Rhaenyra will see you as an extension of Aegon's challenge to the throne," Alicent explains, "you, and the children you will have with him. Should Rhaenyra ascend the throne, all your lives may become forfeit." "....No," Aemma shakes her head in denial, "No, she...she wouldn't do that, she would never." "I know this hard to accept," Alicent says, tone still serious, though she tried to be more comforting, "but it is the truth, and you are no longer a child. However kind Rhaenyra may be to you now, it won't last forever." "No...no....NO! It's not true! You're lying!" Aemma stands up to face the queen in angry tears, "Rhaenyra is my cousin, our family, she would never do anything so vile as to slay her own kin!" "You do not know the things she is capable of," Alicent says with a somber tone, "but I do." 

Tears in her eyes, still refusing to believe the queen, Aemma runs out of the room.

In her state of anger and sadness, Aemma did not look where she was running, and she bumped into Ivan the moment she turned the corner, with enough force to knock the both of them down.

"Ow!" Aemma groans, rubbing her nose, and looked to see who she bumped into, "Ivan! Oh, I am so sorry I-" her eyes widen to what she saw. Ivan's headband had moved slightly, exposing his ears.

Ivan gave Aemma a confused look to her surprising, but he he felt and noticed his headband was out of place. The secret he'd kept hidden since first sailing to Westeros all those ears ago was out in front of the princess.

"Ivan? Your ears, they're...you're an elf?"

Hi Origins Crew fandom :}

How are y'all doing? How's the feeling of never knowing what was supposed to happen to your favorite character in OoO, SNO,SAO...? Oh and the unfinished storylines in MHO? FTO? do we wanna talk about the cliffhanger in OZ? I mean, luckily some people posted videos about how the storyline was going to go, so at least we got that.

Some backstory on how I started watching Origins.

It was summer of 2019 I think? Pretty sure at least, I know it was before I started highschool because I sucked at English before I started watching Origins.

Anyway.

First series was OoO S1 from Brandon's POV, at least that's the first video that got recommended to me, I'm unsure what episode it was, I can't remember if it was before or after the Aphrodite's ball (we don't talk about those, you guys know why. You know.) So I'm not sure if I even watched it all, but I think at the time I did go back to watch it from the first episode.

Anyway POVS right? With OoO S1 I watched Brandon (*cough cough* Brandeen), Jakey, Brian, Colin and some of Xylo.

And can I just say... IT'S BEEN 3 SEASONS, 3 SEASONS IT TOOK TO GET RID OF A FUCKING SWORD, A SWORD, COME ON. AND WHY THE FUCK, CAN SOME PEOPLE COME BACK TO LIFE, AND OTHERS CAN'T, WHAT PLOT ARMOR IS THIS- Istg that was probably the most annoying thing of them all, nothing against the creators, again I feel like I need to clarify! But it's just my personal dumb opinion that I hope nobody takes offense to???

I feel like I should make a post for every Origins Series I've watched, but idk if that would make sense lol TwT

Besides my personal preferences when it came to all the series, I am very grateful to the Origins Crew, they're the reason I'm here today, the reason I know English and they were the first group that really opened my eyes when it came to the LGBTQ+ community and helped me discover myself.

I know that from an outside point of view it might seem dumb, but I do owe a lot to them, all of them, even the ones who left a year before Origins dismantled, even the ones who joined just before people went their separate ways.

Because even if people might say that the storylines were dumb or maybe cliche (which, in some cases they definitely were) in the end, I still loved every moment of it, every episode every dumb character who didn't make any sense or that was weirdly overpowered (I REALLY want to specify which ones but I don't want the whole fandom to come at me, please, any fandom but this one) but to be fair they kinda all were in some way? Or at least had the potential to in my opinion.

I'm not good at keeping a conversation stick to one topic, I tend to sideline pretty often and I apologize for that. TwT

Also idk if it's just me, but when I find a group of people there's always that one that for some unknown reason I just like more and that one who I dislike, again, for no specific reason, just the vibes???

From Devi Devi Academy/anarchy to Glitch generation, to My Hero Eternity, I watched some of the Fnaf content Bryan made just for the nostalgia.

Holy fuck how I miss these fuckers.

Like it was the whole dynamic they had in the group, the mini games videos in character were so entertaining to watch! Especially the crossovers, I tend to rewatch them from time to time even tho I know basically everything by memory at this point.

Honestly they really inspired me when it came to creating my own storylines, and roleplaying, some people may call it cringe, and I get it, but I still think it's fun.

It's been a year.

Well, more technically, but I didn't have Tumblr at the time of the anniversary I suppose? Can you even call it that?

The Origins fandom never felt too big, in my life I've only talked to one other person who knew about them, and it was pretty fun, we watched the uh.. second episode of my Hero Eternity together making theories and stuff, talking about my hero Origins and wondering which characters canonically knew that you know, mr "I killed both my bio parents" was actually alive. (Which from what we know, Flex knows, and I think Colin, not sure tho, because in the 3rd episode, when they were interrogating the hero, our edgy boy mentioned how he had an old "friend" who could get information and data really easily, and now, we all know Mario definitely wouldn't do that plus, did he even interact with the L.O.V.E. as a whole? I don't think so? So the only option that makes sense to me is Colin)

Anyway I drifted away from the concept once again because once I start talking I won't ever stop.

This is a long post, as usual, cause I write a lot when it comes to things I'm passionate about.

I'm very attached to Origins, all the characters, all the storylines, all the silly little things. And I'm never going to stop missing it I suppose? Not in a "omg how dare they break the group apart blabla blabla..." No, I'm just very nostalgic when it comes to it.

I owe everything to them, part of who I am today is because of them.

hallo ava, this fic might be up your alley if I could actually write it and it wasn't the partial cause of my current crisis of confidence, lol. This is an j2 au fic where Jensen's a famous actor -- as in, got cast as Captain America famous, given that that was a rumor for a while and I thought it'd be fun to see how that could happen & what it'd do. (Note: still definitely *au*, bc of my squicks.) He's not exactly thrilled about life, though, and most of what he actually has fun with is watching his favorite youtuber, JP's Handcrafted Wood, who owns a woodshop and does tutorial vids and also those hangout vids where he's building a table for two hours and just livestreaming, you know? The fic's actually intended to be about the nature of fame, and art vs commerce, and parasocial relationships (I think it's very very funny that Actual Captain America is lurking in Jared's tiny comment section on youtube), and it's sort of a meet cute but also not so cute, you know? Running on the model of the standard 30k big bang j2 romance but because I'm me, it's grimmer than that, lol.

The trouble I'm having, as I said to some buds the other day, is that it would be way more effective as a movie than as written. At least how I'm thinking about it right now. Eve suggested switching up the structure and maybe that'd work. I don't know. It may just be daydreaming about Jared building a chair. But a snip, since there was some writing done --

He doesn't remember how he clicked on the first one. Some recommendation, the algorithm trying to get him to watch something that wasn't a cooking video for once. The video was about hasps. Jensen didn't even know that was a word, much less what one was. Mostly the video was a pair of huge tanned hands, bandaids around two of the fingers, showing off different mechanisms and talking about the advantages and use cases of each one, and then finishing with a fitting onto a little wooden chest that he'd apparently made in the previous video. Throughout was the narration, an easy endless rambling soliloquy with a faint Texas accent that made Jensen abruptly homesick, marooned as he was in Georgia on a shoot for a movie he didn't really care about but was making him a whole hell of a lot of money, and he lay back on the couch in his trailer and clicked on the next recommended video—this one actually making the wooden chest—and then the next one—dovetail joints—and then he went back to the very first video, and he watched all the way through, from the beginning, for every y'all and every bad pun and the random personal details JP will let slip, just because he, apparently, never stops talking.

The Technoblade Conspiracy

Even before Dream claimed there was a traitor in Pogtopia, there's been a lot of...suspicious activities happening in Techno’s streams. Others on the SMP are already distrustful of him, and the fans are as well, but I believe that we’re focusing on the wrong thing here. This thread isn’t quite a traitor theory, but rather a dive into what Techno has been hiding at large. I can say with utter confidence that the extent of what Technoblade has accomplished on the Dream SMP is being greatly underestimated.

I recommend looking at the sus Techno moments thread by @piggytechnobarb on Twitter for some of the stream clips I'll be discussing.

This is going to be fairly in depth, so the rest is under the cut!

1. There is another room under what Techno calls his "secret base"

I won't talk too much on how strange his choice of "secret base" is for now, but please do keep in mind how out of character it is for man-who-tracked-down-Squid's-college to settle for a home base so unprotected and close to Pogtopia's very well known location.

So, for some reason, there is Polished Blackstone Brick under the floor of Techno’s wall. He accidentally reveals this when a donation asks him to mine the exposed redstone in his wall, acts a bit strange for a good 15 seconds, and then never mentions it again. Sight of the brick prompts him to silently zoom in, fill the hole with stone (not cobble), and say "Don't ask questions".

This is only so strange because there's no real reason for him to have stone at the ready, or any blackstone brick at all. Techno is NOT a builder, and if a creeper blew up down there, he'd fill it with cobble and not give a shit about aesthetics. He doesn't use smooth stone in his base, and has never built with blackstone on stream. Not only are they unusual items for him to have, it's unusual for him to make a point to not have the viewers question it. Yes, it could just be Techno being dramatic, but why did he go silent for a straight 5 seconds at the sight of the blackstone?

Considering who he is as a player, it is completely in character for Techno to build a second base. The lake he lives under is incredibly near Wilbur and Tommy, and he's well aware that all an enemy has to do is watch his stream to infiltrate his base. Techno goes to the extremes when they aren't even required (Ex. His insane skill in party games, beating Skeppy in as niche of a game as Grinch Simulator, etc.) So I don't think it's a stretch for him to go the extra mile, and hide a bunker/resources/extra armour and what have you from even his own viewers.

2. The overpowered illegal villager farm

For those of you who don't watch Ponk, he recently stumbled across an area that is supposedly banned on the Dream SMP - a villager farm. In the clip, his voice is astonished and his confusion is palpable, and he goes so far as to say "It's a full scale arms race" because of how many good trades there are. The location is laced with traps, though he doesn't mention what exactly he had to get past to find the farm. Ponk's reaction is far too genuine for the farm to be his, but then that begs the question, whose farm is it?

...Who is willing to risk Dream's wrath by breaking his rules? Or, alternatively, who is capable of making a secret pact with the server owner to allow such a farm? The answer could only be Technoblade.

Ponk says it himself in the video, he does not have the time to build this. Whoever made this had to have carved out a hidden cavern, lead at least 14 villagers down there, breed them until only the ones with the best trades were left - all off stream, and without another player catching them. Whoever made this had to spend hours of work with no content to show for it, and who do we know has been grinding for DAYS on the server? Technoblade. Not to mention, all the villagers are numbered, and all but one are fletchers.

The signs above each stall are so important, because going so far back as SMP Earth, Techno has a history of dispassionately breeding mobs to his benefit, and then killing any mob not performing well enough. For example, his horse farm: where the horses stay in numbered rooms rather than all being named. The villagers in the screenshot above are numbered rather than named.

Wanna hear a fun fact about Fletchers? They're well known for accepting sticks for emeralds, but will also take string for that trade as well! And guess who has been seen waiting at the spider spawner collecting string by Sapnap, Awesamdude, Quackity, and multiple other players? Technoblade.

Technoblade also has every reason to be breeding villagers for special arrows and crossbows, because he's said on stream that he wants to try spamming multi-shot crossbows in combat to take out huge groups of enemies. He said at a later point that he had run into trouble with getting multiple crossbows with the enchantment multi-shot, and implied it wasn't going to happen. But has he ever been the kind of person to be stopped by something being challenging? Absolutely not.

Think of literally anything Techno has done - his Bedwars win streak, beating MC with a steering wheel, the Potato Wars - what I believe is really happening, is that Techno is lying about how equipped he is so that no matter what side he ends up fighting for, his enemies will have no true way of knowing how powerful he is.

3. Dream might be his secret ally (AKA The Glowstone Incident)

This brings us to a...confusing moment in Techno's stream that sparked a lot of questions. It pointed me towards 2 different, but not necessarily exclusive, theories.

The Glowstone Incident precedes as follows: Techno needs glowstone but can't find any in his chests, so he puts on his BRB screen. He says that he is "hacking" and asking Dream to use game mode to give him the glowstone. Typing can be heard, and then multiple chests are opened. Techno takes off the BRB screen and he now has three stacks of glowstone dust. This was absolutely bewildering to watch live, and was one of the most blatantly suspicious things he has done in front of his viewers. (You can find the exact clip on the thread I mentioned, it is...so weird)

Theory A: Though unlikely, Techno could be Dream's secret ally, and Dream really did use creative to give him the stacks. Or, he potentially gave Techno OP permissions so that he could get the glow stone (and any other materials he’d want) himself.

We all remember their meet up on that ocean hill, where Dream gives Techno golden apples, diamonds, and other such materials for the battle against Schlatt. It seemed to be a one-off gift that was more for Wilbur's benefit than Techno's, but there's potentially the chance that Dream saw an alliance to Techno to be more beneficial than working only with Wilbur, and contacted him off screen to make deals.

Going back to the Village Farm - for a player to get the exact enchantment they want for a reasonable price, breeding them is the most logical option. It's the route Techno would take regardless of Dream's rules on the SMP too, as he tends to show little regard for what the creators want (Ex. Taking over SMP Earth, exploiting Hypixel Skyblock, etc.) However, it could also be possible that Dream gave Techno permission to do this, and so the reason Techno is keeping the farm secret is so that the viewers don't know of their alliance.

Theory B: Techno has hidden resources in his base that he doesn't want anyone to have even the chance to see. Whether it is to hide from enemies watching (or to hide from Dream in particular because Techno knows he's breaking the server's rules) there are secret chests that Techno has with extra resources that can be heard loud and clear in the video.

They could be simple ones hidden in the walls...or in the blackstone brick base hidden under his floors. Saying he’s “hacking” rather than the reality of him just checking all his chests again is on par for Techno’s usual dramatics - yet we can clearly see that there’s no glowstone in any of his chests. This is why I believe he got the glowstone from some unseen resource. With the BRB screen on, Techno prevents his viewers from actually seeing how he got the 3 stacks of powder, and it keeps the location of his hidden materials safe.

Personally, I feel theory B is more likely, but there have been moments where Dream has acted Sus so...be on the lookout y'all.

4. Techno not participating in MCC

For those of you who watched Techno during the Potato War, many will remember that MCC 6 had a stressful undertone. Because of how much effort and time Techno had been putting into farming on Skyblock, taking a break to compete in another event was distracting. It ultimately led to him losing time that, from his perspective, would have been better off spent farming.

Techno might not be as blatantly grinding on the Dream SMP as he did with the Potato War, but it's undeniable that other streamers have seen him online for stretches of 10 hours and more. When asked about why he wasn't participating in the next MCC, Techno didn't say he was taking a break - something that'd be entirely reasonable and honestly well earned - he said "I don't want to."

It could be awkward phrasing by virtue of Techno's personality, but what I think is more likely is that Techno has learned from his past mistakes. Rather than "waste" time competing in MCC, Techno might be planning to use the time everyone on the SMP is gone to his advantage. He could sneak into enemy territory, set traps in certain areas, or maybe even perform some illegal acts that Dream would never allow. Either way, I suspect Techno has something planned for the 14th.

All in all, I'm 100% convinced that Techno has some serious plans hidden behind the scenes that he's not going to share until it's time for him to unleash utter chaos. We know he's keeping secrets, we know he's had the time, and we know he's capable.

Do you have any thoughts on the use of AAVE for Nile (or lack thereof) in TOG fanfiction? I've been reading some Book of Nile fic and some writers seem to write her as a Millennial™ (using words like "fave" and "woke") but never acknowledge her Blackness in her patterns of speech. I know we don't see her use as much AAVE in the films, but I would argue she's in situations where code-switching would be valued (first in a "professional" environment in the army, then around a group of non-Black strangers).

Hi anon! I have many thoughts on this and I'm honored you asked me! But I should start by saying I'm white and any thoughts Black fans and especially Black American fans have on this that they want to share would be beyond lovely. (I'm not gonna tag anybody bc that feels rude but please add onto this post if any of y'all see this and want to!)

The main reason I personally avoid AAVE for Nile in my own fics is because I'm not Black. But Nile-centric fics by Black writers tend to avoid using much of it too, at least from what I've noticed/understood, and my guess is it's largely for the reason you mention, that she's in situations that encourage code-switching.

In movie canon Nile is highly competent at tailoring her language to each situation she finds herself in. This fantastic linguistics analysis meta shows how skillfully Nile chooses her vocabulary and grammar to meet her goals with different conversation partners in different contexts. In comics canon Nile had a bunch of different civilian jobs before joining the Marines, so she would've had experience code-switching in the ways that made sense for all those different contexts as well as the Marines and her family and high school and wherever else she spent her time before we met her. And now she's spending her time with a handful of immortals none of whom are native English speakers and a fellow Black American but one with a Queen's English UK accent whose professional experience is in the CIA where high-status code-switching is often an absolute must for success or even survival.

Fics featuring Nile are charged with extrapolating from that to how it might show up in her use of language that she's coping with a traumatic separation from her family and her career and pretty much everything she's ever known and now she needs to be able to make herself understood to people who seem to care about her and each other but are super duper in crisis, three (soon to be four) of whom predate Modern English entirely and the only one who's anywhere near her contemporary she's not supposed to talk to for a century. All of these people are telling her that pretty much any contact with any mortals poses an existential threat to her and the rest of the group. How the FUCK is she supposed to cope with that, like, generally? And would it be a more effective way for her to cope if she talked to Andy Joe and Nicky using the speech patterns that she used to use with her mom and brother, to at least retain that part of her identity even if it means having to do a lot of explaining, or would it meet her needs better to prioritize Andy Joe and Nicky understanding what she means with her words over using the particular words and grammar forms she used with her family?

I've seen several fics, both Nile-centric / BoN and otherwise, explore this a little bit in how/whether Nile uses Millennial™ speak. It's often a theme in Nile texting Booker despite the exile because of the popular headcanon that he as The Tech Guy is the only other immortal who understands memes. But Nile's much-younger-than-Booker mom probably uses Boomer and/or Gen X memes and Andy has been adapting to new communication styles for forever as evidenced by her canon high level of fluency with standard-American-accented English.

Which brings us back to people avoiding AAVE because they're not Black and they don't want to make mistakes (or they're not Black and they don't want to get yelled at for making mistakes, though I think many people overestimate how much they'll get yelled at while underestimating how much these mistakes can hurt). I can imagine some Black fans hold back from using much AAVE in fic because they don't want to share in-group stuff with white people who are likely to then adopt and ruin it, as white people so often do with Black cultural stuff. Some links about this including a great Khadija Mbowe video. I'm saying this gently, anon, because you might not know: woke, an example you cited as Millennial™ speak, is AAVE, and that's gotten erased by so many white people appropriating it and using it incorrectly online.

And also there's the part where fandom is a hobby and you never know when you're reading a fic that's the very first thing someone's ever written outside of a school assignment. This cultural considerations of language shit takes a level of effort and skill that not everybody puts into every fic, or even could if they wanted to because they haven't had time to build their skills yet. It's definitely easier for non-Black fans to project our millennial feels onto Nile than to do the layers of research and self-reflection it requires to depict what Blackness might mean to Nile, and it's not surprising that often people sharing their hobby creations on the internet have gone the easier route. There's not even necessarily shame in doing what's easier. It's just frustrating and often hurtful when structural white supremacy means that 3-dimensional Black characters are rare in media and thoughtful explorations of them in fandom are seen by the majority of fans as not-easy to make and therefore Nile Freeman, the main character in The Old Guard (2020) dir. Gina Prince-Bythewood, has the least fic and meta and art made about her of our 5 main immortals.

I've been active in different fandoms off and on for twenty years and I barely managed to write 5,000 words about Sam Wilson across multiple different fics in the 7 years since I fell in love with him. There's an alchemy to which characters we connect with, and on top of that which characters we connect with in a way that causes us to create stuff about them. Something about Nile Freeman finally tipped me over the edge from a voracious reader to a voracious writer. It's not for me to judge which characters speak to other individuals to the level of creating content about them, but I do think it's important for us to notice, and then work to fight, the pattern where across this fandom as a whole Nile gets way less content, and way less depth in so much of the content that's in theory about her, than any of these other characters.

Anyway, back to language. My two long fics feature Nile with several Black friends — Copley and OCs and cameos from other media — but all of those characters except Alec Hardison from Leverage aren't American. It's very possible I'm guilty of stereotyping Black British speech patterns in I See Your Eyes Seek a Distant Shore. I watched hours and hours of Black haircare YouTube videos in the research for that fic and I modeled my OCs' speech patterns on what I heard from some of those YouTubers as well as what I've heard people like John Boyega and Idris Elba saying in interviews, but the thing about doing your best is you still might fuck up.

I'm slowly making progress on my WIP where Nile and Sam Wilson are cousins, and what ways of talking with a family member might be authentic for Nile is a major question I need to figure out. For that, I'm largely modeling my writing choices on how I hear my Black friends and colleagues talking to each other. I haven't overheard colleagues talking in an office in a long-ass time, but back when that was a thing, I remember seeing a ton of nuance in the different ways many of my Black colleagues would talk to each other. Different people have different personalities! And backgrounds! And priorities! A few jobs ago my department was about 1/3 Black and we worked closely with Obama administration staff many of whom were Black and there was SO MUCH VARIETY in how Black people talked to each other, about work and workplace-appropriate personal stuff, where I and other white coworkers could hear. There are a few work friends in particular who I have in my head when I'm trying to imagine how Sam and Nile might talk to each other. From the outside looking in, God DAMN is shit complicated, intellectually and interpersonally and spiritually, for Black people who are devoting their professional lives to public service in the United States.

One more aspect of this that I have big thoughts on but I need to take extra care in talking about is the idea of acknowledging Nile's Blackness in her patterns of speech. There's no one right way to be Black, and Nile's a fictional character created by a white dude but there are plenty of real-life Black Americans who don't use much or even any AAVE, for reasons that are complicated because of white supremacy. (Highly highly recommend this video by Shanspeare on the harms of the Oreo stereotype.)

Something that's not the same but has enough similarity that I think it's worth talking about is my personal experience with authenticity and American Jewish speech patterns. My Jewish family members don't talk like they're in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and I've known lots of people who do talk that way (or the millennial version of it), some of whom have questioned my Jewishness because I don't talk that way. That hurts me. Sometimes when another Jew tells me some shit like "I've never heard a Jew say y'all'd've," I can respond with "well now you have asshole, bless your Yankee-ass heart," because the myth of Dixie is a racist lie but I will totally call white Northerners Yankees when they're being shitty to me for being Southern, and this particular Jew fucking revels in using "bless your heart" with maximum polite aggression, especially with said Yankees. But sometimes I don't have it in me to say anything and it just quietly hurts having an important part of me disbelieved by someone who shares that important part of me. The sting isn't quite the same when non-Jews disbelieve or discount my Jewishness, but that hurts too.

Who counts as authentically Jewish is a messy in-group conversation and it doesn't really make sense to explain it all here. Who counts as authentically Jewish is a matter of legal status for immigration, citizenship, and civil rights in Israel, and it's my number 2 reason after horrific treatment of Palestinians that I'm antizionist. But outside that extremely high-stakes legal situation, it can just feel really shitty to not be recognized as One Of Us, especially by your own people.

It can also feel really shitty to be The Only One of Your Kind in a group, even if that group is an immortal chosen family who all loves each other dearly. Sometimes especially in a situation like that where you know those people love you but there are certain things they don't get about you and will never quite be able to. I'm definitely projecting at least a little bit of my "lonely Jew who will be alone again for yet another Jewish holiday" stuff onto Nile when at the end of I See Your Eyes Seek a Distant Shore she's thinking about being the only Black immortal and moving away from the community she'd built with a mostly-Black group of mortals in that fic. Maybe that tracks, or maybe that's fucked up of me.

Basically, this got very long but it's complicated, writing about experiences that aren't your own takes skill which in turn takes time and practice to build, writing about experiences not your own that our society maligns can cause a lot of harm if done badly, it can also cause a lot of harm when a large enough portion of a fandom just decides to nope out of something that's difficult and risky because then there's just not much content about a character who deserves just a shit ton of loving and nuanced content, people are individuals and two people who come from the exact same cultural context might show that influence in all kinds of different ways, identity is complicated, language is complicated, writing is hard, and empathy and humility and doing our best aren't a guarantee of avoiding harm but they do go a long way in helping people create thoughtful content about a character as awesome and powerful and kind and messy and scared and curious and WORTHY as Nile Freeman.

Both of you being famous wasn't easy with you being a singer and Sebastian being an actor. Especially when you wanted to keep your relationship a secret and you were quite younger than him. You have been dating for a while now and you couldn't be more in love with him. He was your muse for many of your songs, but the fans didn't know that. They did notice though that you started writing more love songs than before. You got questions about it almost every day, but you never answered them. They had their speculations, but you never confirmed any of it. It might be selfish, but you wanted to keep him all to yourself and both of you agreed to wait a little more before going public. He was promoting his new movie and you didn't want people to think that you announced your relationship only to give more publicity to it. But sometimes the universe doesn't care what you want.

It was a normal day, like any other, when you were at Sebastian's house and you started craving some McDonald's. The weather was nice for the time being past 10 pm so you decided to go out to buy it instead of ordering. It was dark already so you weren't afraid that anybody would see or recognize you. It was a five minute walk from his house and you thought it would be nice have a short walk. You waited for Sebastian to lock the front door then started walking down the street hand in hand. It probably wasn't the best idea, but you really didn't think that any paparazzi would be near you. You went into the fast food place to buy what you needed, then started walking back to his place, laughing at a story he was telling you. You loved these late night walks, the dark giving you a sense of comfort.

"Baby" he stopped walking as still giggled, making you stop as well. You turned to him, eyebrows raised in question, a smile still on your face. "I love you" he blurted out, intently looking at you, waiting for your reaction. He never said it before, despite dating for almost 6 months now. You didn't say it either yet, not wanting to make him uncomfortable or rush him. After his last relationship he wanted to be extra sure when saying the three words and you understood him. Your heart skipped a few beats at his confession, the smile widening on your lips.

"I love you too, Seb." you beamed, stepping closer to him and pulling him into a hug.

"Thank god." he mumbled into your hair, making you pull away.

"What do you mean 'thank god'? How could I not feel the same way about you? Haven't you heard the songs I wrote lately?" you asked jokingly in disbelief, but knowing he didn't mean it like that.

"You know what I mean" he blushed under the light of the streetlamp.

"I do" your arms going around his neck you pulled him down into a deep kiss. When you broke apart you walked back to his house to finally eat.

What you didn't realize was that there was a paparazzi following you, getting the perfect angle of your kiss, taking a series of photos.

The next morning you were woken up by your phone essentially exploding with calls and messages. You groaned as you reached for it, barely being able to touch it as Sebastian refused to let go of your waist.

"Why is your phone waking us up at the ass crack of dawn?" he groaned, rubbing his eyes.

"I don't know" you unlocked it to see at least 25 calls from your manager and another few from friends and family. Around the same amount of texts were sent as well, making you sit up in bed, confused. "Something is wrong." he sat up at your tone to look at your phone. You dialed your manager, putting it on speaker. She picked up right away.

"What the fuck are you doing?" she almost screamed into the device, making Sebastian look at you.

"I was sleeping. It's 7 am." you explained.

"Care to tell me why is you and Sebastian kissing plastered on every news site on the internet right now?" your whole world stopped at her words.

"What did you say?" Sebastian spoke up as you were still frozen in your spot.

"Oh your partner in crime is there too? Great. I don't have to say this twice." she was being sarcastic, but you didn't care. You just wanted an explanation.

"Tell us what is happening, please" you pleaded.

"There are multiple pictures of you going around. They are claiming that they took them last night." she explained, but that wasn't enough.

"What pictures?" you asked.

"Pictures of you holding hands and kissing." you ran your hand through your hair.

"Fuck" Sebastian sighed.

"That's an understatement." you heard shuffling on the other side. "So I recommend you guys figure out what you are going to do and do it real fast because it is getting out of hand."

"Yeah, sure we will do that." he took the phone from you. "Thanks."

"Just doing my work." she ended the call with a sigh. Sebastian looked at you as you stared at your legs, deep in thought.

"Hey" he brushed his hand up your back, shaking you out of your mind.

"Yeah?" you looked at him, startled.

"We need to do something." he explained.

"Yeah, yeah, sure. What should we do? Go public? I mean we don't really have any other choice." you furrowed your brows.

"Do you want that?" he wanted you to be hundred percent okay with whatever you were going to do.

"Yes, I just hoped it wouldn't happen like this." you sighed. "Do you want that?" you asked back.

"Yes. We already talked about going public so I guess we will have to do it now." he shrugged.

"How are we doing this then?" you stood up to get dressed, getting ready for the day.

"Posting a video on TikTok?" he grinned.

"Absolutely not. We are not posting on Tiktok." you shook your head, laughing.

"So where do you want it? Facebook?" he raised his eyebrows, joking.

"No." you laughed. "I was thinking about posting a pic on Instagram." you threw out the idea. Both of you used the app a lot so it would be the best choice.

"Okay, let's find a picture." he also stood up.

"Ah-ah" you held out your hand to stop him. "You talk to your manager while I pick out a picture to post on my account and you can post one on yours if you want to. Mine is going to be a surprise." you grinned, already having one in mind. It was your favorite picture of you, taken by a friend without your knowledge. You were in a parking lot at the beach, you sitting on the hood of his car while he was standing between your legs, kissing you. There was a second picture, where you were leaning your forehead against his, both of you laughing at your friends shouting at you to get a room. Both of your faces were clearly seen on them so you decided to post both of them.

'All of the songs are about you' the caption read. In seconds your notifications were blowing up with comments from fans. You didn't want to read them, because you knew how people on the internet could get and you knew that you being younger than him would bother some of them. Sebastian came out of the bedroom to sit next to you.

"You posted it?" he asked, taking out his phone.

"Yep" you smiled. You leaned your head against his shoulder as he opened the app, waiting for his reaction. He immediately searched up your name and tapped on the photo. His thumb froze on the little heart as he read the caption. He put the phone down and grabbed your chin to pull you to his soft lips in a kiss.

"I love you." he mumbled into your lips.

"I love you too." you giggled. He pulled away to pick up the phone to leave a comment. 'If I wrote songs mine would be about you too' you snorted at it. "You are cute"

A few days later you had enough courage to check the comments people were leaving online. Maybe it wasn't the best idea.

There were nice comments as well, calling you cute together and wishing you well. The mean comments always stuck with you more though and you didn't want Sebastian to read them. It was enough that you went through them. Both of you were a little insecure about your age gap, but you loved each other so you helped the other through the harder times.

You got to his house and walked in as he asked you to not to knock anymore. You found him sitting on his couch, phone in hand. Hoping that he wasn't doing what you thought he was doing you sat down next to him. He had instagram open.

"Seb" you sighed, taking the phone out of his hands.

"What? I just wanted to see what they were saying." he tried to defend himself.

"You shouldn't read these." you shook your head. "So you wanna watch a movie?" you changed the subject. He agreed with your suggestion.

The movie had been playing for a half an hour when he pulled away from your cuddling.

"What if they are right?" his voice was so quiet so almost didn't hear him. You paused the movie to look at him.

"What do you mean?" you asked, confused by his sudden outburst.

"The comments saying that you could do so much better than me" he kept looking at his feet. You sat up and grabbed his chin to turn his head towards you, your heart breaking at his words. This was exactly why you didn't want him to read them.

"Baby" you sighed. "They are not right. Not even by far. I could not find anyone better than you even if I tried. But I'm not trying because I have you with me and you are the best thing that happened to me in a long time. So get that thought out of your head." you stared into his eyes to get your point across.

"But don't you want someone your age?"

"No I don't." you shook your head. "I am perfectly happy with you and I don't need anyone else." you held his cheeks between your palms. "Plus I like it that you are older." you smirked making him chuckle lightly. Climbing onto his lap you pulled him closer. "I love it that you are more experienced." you pressed a soft kiss on his cheek. "I love it that you are taller." a kiss under his ear. "I love it that you are always so so sweet to everyone you meet." a kiss on his nose. Your right hand went into his hair as your lips kissed down to his neck. "And I love the way you make me feel when it's just the two of us." you whispered into his ear, your breath hitting his skin, making him let out a moan. He grabbed your waist in a strong grip. "I love how big your hands are." you nipped at his skin on his neck earning another noise of pleasure and his fingers digging into your skin. He doesn't pay much attention to you not showing much skin. He, himself isn't particularly fond of showing skin, so he understands that much.

What he doesn't understand, however, is why you always avoid eye contact, and rarely speak, talking quietly when you do, and tend to shy away from any social interactions, with him, his brothers, and anyone else.

He's the last person to care about or even notice physical appearance, so he doesn't even consider that might be your reasoning for it.

So when he approaches you about it and you tell him it's because you were bullied for your appearance, he's taken aback for sure.

"Well, if that's all, then I assure you, you have nothing to worry about. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your body."

He'll definitely ask some questions about these bullies. Not for any particular reason. He just wants to... Talk.

And he'll also go out of his way to reassure you of your beauty and chance he gets. Not in front of his brothers though...

He'll... Try to remind you that you that you look beautiful, but he's really bad at it. He always ends up becoming a flustered mess and can't get the words out. It's okay tho, you get the point.

He'll openly beat the hell out of any other demon who tries to harass you about your body.

Leviathan

All jokes aside, he does notice how you avoid social interactions and don't talk much and how you always talk quietly. He can't exactly judge you though, he does the same thing.

He also notices how you never show skin. Which... Okay. He's not really the type yo show much skin either, so he doesn't really mind that much???

Honestly, he's probably the most understanding about it, seeing as he has his own fair share of self-consciousness.

Though it is kind of annoying when he's asking about how you like an anime he recommended to you and you only give one or two-word answers. I mean come on! He needs more detail than that! He wants a full video essay on your thoughts, not just, "It's good," or "I liked it." Give him something here, man! How's he supposed to know that you actually liked it if you don't give detail? Or even that you actually watched the show!

One day he idly brings it up to you while you're playing video games together.

When you tell him you were bullied for your appearance, he pauses the game and looks at you.

Sure, he's gotten bullied too, but for him it was because he's an otaku and a shut-in.

"Th- there's nothing wrong with your body! If anything, I'm the one who's ugly... I'm just a gross yucky otaku... Y- you look way better than I do!"

He would totally go do something about those bullies but... There's a raid later today, and the next episode of an anime he likes comes out tomorrow, and he has a concert to go to... Plus, he's not very good with confrontation, and he'd have to actually go outside, and he's a shut-in, so he's not exactly in shape and...

But he'll definitely try to help you feel better about your body! Though... It'll mostly be small things because he's not sure his little heart could handle any more than that. So he'll occasionally tell you that you look nice, things like that.

And if he finds out other demons are harassing you about your body... He might consider summoning Lotan to put them in their place. Or he might just have you stay home and do online school with him.

Satan

He isn't exactly the biggest social butterfly either, but he isn't really shy, so he definitely notices how little you talk and how you avoid social interaction. And you talk quietly, which is rather frustrating for him.

And then there's the fact that you never show much skin, which is annoyingly similar to how Lucifer never shows skin. Are you trying to copy him or something...?

When he brings it up to you, he's a little taken aback to hear that it's because you get bullied for your appearance. He's not one to worry too much about that sort of thing, so it hadn't even occurred to him.

He should have known though. From what he's read, it's a pretty common issue in the human world. Not that it's any less common here in the Devildom.

"So that's your reason, huh...? Well, you needn't worry. Your body weight doesn't make you any less beautiful."

He asks some... Questions about these bullies. What? No, no, he isn't going to do anything to them. Not at all. He just wants to see these bullies for himself, that's all...

He'll go out of his way to make sure you know you're beautiful. And he'll tell you about historical figures and main characters of books he's read who were overweight but described as beautiful.

And if any other demon dares harass you about your body... Well, let's just say they won't be shown any mercy from his wrath.

Asmodeus

Noooo, don't hate yourself, aha, you're so beautiful!

Jokes aside, he's is the most talkative and attention-loving, so he definitely notices that you're avoiding eye contact and don't talk to him as much as you should be. Pay attention to him, dammit!

And when he tries to dress you up, he definitely notices how you avoid anything that shows skin. Come on, darling, you'd look so good, just try it!

One day he whines to you about it. When you tell him it's because you were bullied, he gasps dramatically.

Bullied?! How dare they bully his precious, beautiful little angel! He's offended!

"Darling, don't you dare listen to those awful bullies! You're beautiful and don't you dare forget it! Besides, that just means there's more of you for me to snuggle!"

He would go do something about your bullies but... He just got his hair done! And he doesn't want mess up his manicure! And his clothes might get wrinkled!

However, he will absolutely shower you with compliments any chance he gets. You're beautiful and he wants to make sure you know! But of course, not as beautiful as him ;)

And if he finds out any demons are harassing you about your body, well... Let's just say that Asmo may not lose his temper often, but when he does... It isn't very pretty.

Beelzebub

Beel doesn't really pay much attention to things like how much skin someone shows, but he does notice how little you talk.

At first he though it was because you weren't getting enough food but... He sees that you eat just fine at meals???

He's a little concerned, so he approaches you about it.

When you tell him it's because you were bullied, he's honestly just confused as to why other people are so concerned about your appearance??? It's none of their business??? It's not like you being overweight affects them???

Besides, he doesn't think it's bad, anyway. You look just fine to him. If anything, it means you eat well! That's a good thing in his book!

"Don't worry about it, MC. I don't think you look bad at all."

He's not really the type to go out of his way to cause trouble, but he might go talk to Lucifer about it.

He's really sweet about it and will tell you how wonderful you are. He'll also give you food to make you feel better.

And if he hears about any demons harassing you about it, he might "accidentally" lose control and eat them. Not in front of you though, he doesn't wanna scare you.

Belphegor

He honestly doesn't care whether you show skin or not, honestly.

But he is annoyed by the fact that you talk so little and rarely just say how you feel. Hiw is he supposed to know what you want if you won't speak?

One day he just comes to you and asks you bluntly about it.

When you tell him about the bullying, he just... Thinks you're stupid for listening to them. Who cares about them? It doesn't matter what they say, they're not you, they know nothing.

"MC... Don't be stupid. It's not their body, so why should they have a say in it? Besides, you make for the perfect nap buddy."

He's honestly way too lazy to actually do anything about the bullies. Why commit homicide when you can be sleeping? Come sleep with him, MC.

He's honestly not the type to give you compliments and try to make you see you're beautiful. Instead he'll just make you take more naps with him.

And if hears of any demons harassing you about it, he definitely won't hold back.

More k-dramas y'all should watch

So, at the end of 2017, I created a post going through my favourite dramas of all time. Obviously, I have watched more dramas since then so I have a few more dramas that everyone needs to watch!!

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon

This is an obvious one, so if you haven't watched it, have you been living under a rock?? When I first heard of it just before it came out, I thought it was going to be a rip off of weightlifting fairy Kim bok joo. But boy, was I wrong!! This drama has the perfect amount of romance, comedy, thriller and crime, so it is a good all rounder drama!! The whole cast (not just the leads) had amazing chemistry. The only flaw with this drama is that it does queerbait a little. I wish they either didn't add it in the story or fully went with that the main lead is Bi.

The story surrounds a girl with superhuman strength who wants to be a video game designer. She has always hid her strength due to fear if hurting others and losing her power. She in a unrequited love with her childhood friend who is now a police officer. She then crosses the path of a CEO of a video game company and her starts to become more chaotic. With a serial killer on the loose, Do Bong Soon needs to decide if she will keep a low profile or use her powers for the better good while also falling in love on the way.

While You Were Sleeping

Again, an obvious one, but it has to be watched!! Like strong woman, I was a little apprehensive of this one. Mainly because I hadn't heard good things about Suzy's acting before this came out. But it really surprised me and I really loved it! I'm a sucker for anything crime related, so with a really cute love story as well, it was amazing!! It has really good chemistry and likable characters. The second male lead is also amazing!! I usually don't get second male lead syndrome, but damn I felt it even though I also really loved the main lead. I can't really find any faults with it.

The story surrounds two people who can see the future through dreaming. This includes good and bad things. When the female reporter about dying while on the job, she quite her job to try and changes her fate. A prosecuter move across the street from her, initially they do not get on and their bond starts to grow. Together, they use both of their skills and their power to help change the future and solve crimes along the way. They also soon realise that this is not the first time they have crossed paths.

Psychopath Diary

I cannot recommend this drama enough!! Honestly, it is so underrated!!! Yoon Shi Yoon's performance is incredible, he really embodies the role here. It is so funny, and sweet. You also see a serial killer low key but high key fall in love with the male lead, so there is major gay vibes. The only issue I have with it is, I wish there was a little romance involved. But it is a not a major want.

The story surrounds a pushover who is working at a stocks company. After a major issue arises, he becomes the Scapegoat of the company and is being blamed for it, even though he tried to prevent it. Due to this, he decides that he will end his life. On the way to do this, he witnesses a murder and accidentally picks up the serial killer's diary. While trying to escape, he gets hit by a car and gets amnesia. When he wakes up and reads the diary, he believes that he is the serial killer.

Honestly, please watch this drama, it is so so so funny, the chemistry of the whole cast is incredible. It also possibly has one of my favourite villians in any drama.

Your Honor / Dear Judge

Yes, I am a simp Yoon Shi Yoon. He is just so good and thus role just confirms it! His acting is incredible, king of the double roles! He plays twins and you really tell when either pop up on screen which one he is. This is a really wholesome drama that makes you cry. It has some really sweet moments in it, the leads have such good chemistry. This only issues with this one is that the ending felt rushed. I hate that the TV company changed it from 20 eps to 16 eps.

The story follows a set of twins. Twin A is a top judge in Korea, who is incredibly smart and is living a rich life. Twin B is a criminal who has been screwed over multiple times by the justice system and Twin A. Their mother always sides with A and will tell B not to bother him. When A goes missing, B goes undercover and takes his brothers place. He soon learns about the corrupt world of the court system and his brother. B meets a law student who is meant to be shadowing A. Like B, she has also been affected by the corrupt system and is wanting to be a judge to convict those who have wronged her. Together they fight the system while also falling in love.

Because This is Our First Life

This is a slice of life drama so will have some heavy moments in it. But on the whole, it is just so lovely and cute. The acting is incredible, they really take on the role. It also has one of the best female friendships which is not toxic, they all genuinely care for eachother and want eachother to achieve their dreams. It also has some true badass moments in it as well! I feel like all slice of life dramas have this, but it does have some frustrating moments where the characters are almost purposely making their life's difficult

The story focuses on a woman who is a drama script writer. Due to her patriarchal family who always favour her brother and being let down by her crush, she wants to move out. She ends up moving in with a friend of a friend of a friend. It is to her surprise that the person who she is moving in with is a man who is very much stuck in his own ways and likes to stick to routine. Due to their own desires to be on their own, they decide to get married to relieve the pressure that their families are giving them. This (of course) causes issues and both have to learn about their new feelings for eachother while trying to get through the struggles of life.

Thirty but Seventeen

This drama is the definition of wholesome and cute. I feel that while I was watching it, it went by so quickly and I always had a smile on my face. The romance is so cute and lovely and you could tell they really cared about eachother. The side characters were also amazing and sweet. Honestly, the acting is incredible. The female lead does an amazing job.

The story follows woman who as a child was involved in a bus accident and fell into a coma. She wakes up over ten years later and learns that her family have stopped coming to see her. While on the search for her family, she resides with a man and his brother who are now living in her old family home. The two soon learn that there are more connected than they thought. With the man trying to push her away, the more his feelings grow for her.

Introverted Boss

This is a revenge to love story. It on the whole is a really cute drama where you get to see the leads grow for the better. The acting is incredible and you really fall in love with the leads and the support cast (except for the second lead). It is not a perfect drama, but it is a really easy watch with an interesting story.

The female lead is a stage actress who quits her job to work at a marketing firm. This firm happens to be where her sister used to work. She is out to get revenge against the CEO of the company who she blames for her sister's death. She learns that the CEO is extremely introverted and becomes confused by how he was responsible for her sister's death. As the story goes by, she becomes more intrigued by him and focuses less on revenge and more on helping him open up.

Vincenzo

Ahhhhh, how do express my love for this one!! It is just amazing!! The story was so well thought out and the actors did a fantastic job. It was so satisfying to watch, I wanted to be a member of the mafia lol. The villians were also incredible, like I just love this drama so much. Like Your Honor, the only issue with this one is that the ending felt rushed.

The story surrounds a Korean man who was adopted into an Italian family and became the consiglerie of the mafia. After an issue with his adoptive family, he travels back to Korea in search an insane amount of gold bars which happens to be underneath an unsuspecting block of flats. He then gets involved with a major legal court case with a pharmaceutical company. As he delves deeper into the case, dark secrets start to get revealed.
