Do you think, if both Snape and Lily had been women, they'd have gotten together?

Who knows?

We don't know too much about either character's sexuality. We know that Lily got together with James, dated him for some time before marrying him, then had a son with him. Sex was clearly happening there and it was happening with a cis man, but she could be bisexual.

Ultimately, we're told so little about Lily Evans from canon that what we've got is "green eyes" and "good at charms". ("What was my mother like?" Harry asks, "She was great at charms! Now, let me talk about your father.")

We know Snape held Lily in very high esteem and was still hung up on her over fifteen years after her death, but we don't know if that interest was ever very sexual.

I think things would have changed had Snape been a woman. She would be much less likely to become a Death Eater and... may not be targeted by the Marauders. However, while I believe Lily and Snape would still be friends for similar reasons in canon, that doesn't mean the spark or sexuality is there.

So, this is a "choose your own adventure and write your fic" ask.

Some people think tomarrymort isn't really enemies to lover but prey x predator?????? And basically young Tom will never noticed Harry because he is basic apparently and "just a guy". I wholeheartedly disagree but I want to know what you think?

(ps: it's just how some people treat harry in tomarry fandom is making me sad.)

I think anyone who looks at Harry and ever considers him prey has grossly misunderstood his character and how utterly terrifying he is, was, can, and will always be to Tom in particular.

Don't get me wrong, the power imbalance and gap in skills can be compelling to play with, but Harry was made a threat to Tom by Fate.

Tom himself dictated that this boy would be his equal, and any equal to Voldemort could never be considered anything less than another predator.

...okay, so I suppose Christmas in 1995 was on a Monday and if the winter break is generally two weeks long and starts on the weekend before Christmas, then maybe the first Occlumency lesson (on a Monday evening) was on the 8th of January and Severus Snape was not yet 36 years old, but, ah, time is wobbly etc.

Has Severus taken the role of "Godmother" faster than Harry has managed to adapt to Sirius' revelation/declaration? Maybe, yes, probably. Does Voldy demand student drama and gossip from Severus? Yes.
