his friends obviously notice this new attraction james has towards this girl but chosen not to mention, that is until he started to constantly bring you up and gushes to them about how perfect and cute you are. this getting very mixed reviews from his friends, lily having pity for you, aware of how he gets when he likes someone, sirius constantly teasing him about you, mary saying how nice you sounded, remus seemed mostly indifferent to the whole thing, marlene telling him to make a move. if james was honest he didn't take much notice of the teasing or the annoyance that they had because he kept bringing you up, he just needed to tell everyone about how amazing you are.

james knows how to pine after a girl and god does he do exactly that and he makes that very known to you. at first you were wary and skeptical of this sudden attention the famous gryffindor quidditch captain bestowed on you, he was one of the most popular students in hogwarts but after a while james broke down your walls with his charming smile and his acts of kindness, walking you to classes and pulling pranks on anyone who says nasty comments about you weight.

soon enough you end up in wrapped in red and gold on your way to support him in a match, his scarf keeping you warm from the harsh weather. after his win you end up running into his arms, congratulating him as he spins you around, you complain that he's sweaty, causing him to chuckle.

cupping your cheek, he lowers his voice and whispers to you, "you're my good luck charm, 'course i won." your face heats up and you shyly smile up at him. "what would i do without my good luck charm. you wanna be m' good luck charm always doll? wanna be mine?" he tucks some of your hair behind your ear, leaning in even closer, " 'cause i'm already yours. no one else for me doll." soon enough you accept to be his girlfriend, on the condition that he takes a shower straight away.

Idk know why but I love the trope (though I don't know if you can it one cause I can't find it that often so maybe idea is a better word for it) where character A gets like hella beat up and they have some awful scaring because of it (bonus points if they don't have any scars before/don't usually get scars cause of some super power) and Character B is there and Character A and B are dating.

So after this event Character A doesn't feel pretty or whatever you want to call it just having some serious body dismoreify and they get really insecure about it (more bonus points if they before felt like Character B was to beautiful to begin with and out of league. One gold star if the scars are in a place where Character A can't hide it easily/at all ex face neck hands) and are like "Why is Character B still around?" (Another gold star if they try to hide it but Character B finds out something is wrong)

So Character A and B talk and Character A finally says how insecure they are and Character B is just stunned.

Qui the hurt comfort and Character B is like "Darling, you are still so beautiful. You are still the person I fell in love with and want to be with for the rest of my life. I don't care about scars, they are a part of you therefore they are so beautiful.,"

Marauders Midnights, Log 1: The Potters

Sirius never wearing 'black' on his jerseys in quidditch because he didn't want any of his wins to be associated with them, that he was doing it for the blacks.

Sirius stealing James' jerseys throughout their quidditch games so that they'd both fly with the Potter name.

Seeker!sirius facing off Regulus who still bears the Black name on his back, weighing him down.

Sirius flying lighter and faster in front of Regulus so he's stuck staring at 'Potter' on his brother's back instead of their own last name.

Remus wearing potter on his back, but for Sirius too and not James

Remus and Lily laughing over their boys as 'Potter' is on their backs.

Peter, who always wore Potter on his back from the very second James got onto the team in second year, feeling James slipping away from him as more adore James.

Sirius being known as 'Potter' throughout his classes, not responding to 'Mr. Black' but only "Mr. Potter".

the Marauders + Valkyries being referred to as the potter clan/family (Regulus likes to think himself apart of this family, James assures him he is even as they are far apart)

Older Gryffindors saying 'here comes potter' when any of them come through the portrait door.

Marlene boasting that she was James' first recruit, 'always allowed there i was', 'i was the original', 'i came for Jamie stayed for his mum'.

Peter wishing he was loud enough to shout down hallways that actually he was the first potter, married and sworn in, with paper rings of their childhood.

James being flustered anytime anyone refers to themselves with his last name, fondness for his friends flowing through, the love that he carries in his heart not feeling like a burden anymore.

James noticing peter shy away from using Potter, even though he remembers a smaller peter saying his initials stood for "Peter Potter" not Peter Pettigrew.

James knowing the longing peter feels coursing through as everyone laughs over their strong bond.

James thinking that his heart is still a burden.

Peter rectifying this immediately, becoming louder by the nanosecond that he's a Potter.

Sirius saying that he was James' brother first jokingly.

Peter saying they're more than that without a hint of humour on his tongue and a curve to his lips that makes James want to k-

James thinking his heart is definitely a good thing.

They're all potters. In a way, it's a joining name, a unifying mark, and they chose their glue for their name. Even after Hogwarts, Sirius is still a potter, until he becomes a Lupin.

Yet he never does get to take that step. SIRIUS BLACK -the first time he's heard Black with his name in forever- is printed black and white on newspapers, killer of James and Lily Potter, it writes. Black killed the potters. Sirius believes that too. he killed the potter within him when he let his James and Lily die.

There's only one potter posters say, the undesirable Harry Potter. Mary potter lives in her hollow wishing she could remember why that's not quite right.
