Me: Okay, gotta go to sleep so I can wake up early and continue stressing over finals, so I’m gonna think calm scenarios with low stakes to fall asleep to

Me: Like…an older captain having a crush on a younger crewmate that wasn’t even ranked high enough to be on the bridge, so the captain of course never said or did anything about the crush, staying completely professional the entire time, but now they don’t work together anymore

Me: And now the captain is wondering if they should pursue a relationship with them, because they aren’t currently working on the same ship anymore, but the captain is still ranked higher then them overall, and then there’s the issue with the age gap, it’s not really a big one, but it’s still There™️

Me: And several other crewmembers have joked about seeing the captain as a parent figure because they act so professional and competent and dependable and stuff that it just makes the captain come across as way older and oh god what if the crewmate is just horrified to find out the captain has a crush on them??

Me: And they’re wondering if they should just not pursue anything, especially since the crewmate has recently accepted to go on a date with another person, but they also kinda don’t wanna give up because getting to hang out with that crewmate more in non-work settings (cause most of the crew stayed in contact and constantly meet up to hang out) has made their infatuation grow, so they quietly and indecisively pine

My brain, for some goddamn reason: Mhm, and then, it turns out that person the crewmate agreed to go on a date with, is actually a huge creep trying to stalk their poor ex using the crewmate as a coverup (claiming to innocently be on a date, totally unknowing the ex would be there (lies)), so not only is the date really crappy, but because this creep isn’t actually listening to what the crewmate is saying, they tune them out about their deadly allergies

Brain: And then to seem like a good date to keep the coverup going, they stop by a flower shop (still stalking their ex, the crewmate isn’t aware of that, but is aware this date sucks and is trying to think of how to politely leave) rushes in, and then comes out and shoves a bouquet into the crewmate’s face as a “thoughtful” gift, and it’s the flowers they just mentioned being extremely allergic to-

This isn't redacted related or anything so I don't expected to perform at all but like- This quote hurts so bad. Cause they're just bugs. They're just doing the same thing as us: trying to survive. And yet because they're tiny and they annoy us we kill them. I understand not liking wasps cause they sting or mosquitos because they bite but just think about the moth. All they're trying to do is follow their instincts. They use moonlight to guide them and yet we fill their environment with artificial light and confuse the shit out of them just to get pissed when they end up in a house and bumping into a computer screen at night.

Anyways, I'm gonna stop crying about bugs and explain myself cause I wanna and you fools have to put up with me. Trans people are like moths. They're just trying to live their lives. They're not trying to hurt people or indoctrinate children. They're not chewing holes through your 30 yr old unworn blazer. And yet people who are so much bigger than them, who have so much power are actively taking away their rights, their access to healthcare. People are afraid to be themselves in public because they're trans. And this especially goes for BIPOC communities. I mean fuck, look at the violence directed towards black trans women. It hurts to know this is the current climate for trans people. To be surprised and amazed that one of us makes it to old age hurts.

I wake up everyday and pray nobody kills me for the crime of being small.

@your-not-invisible-to-me wanted to see the finished yard/yard of the dragon lair and I'm happy to show it off!

There are now ALL native plants planted which will grow in over the course of the next two years and fill the yard! There's also thyme planted in the pathway, which will grow to fill in between the painted bricks like grass (and it will be PINK!). Baby Nessie has a pond to swim in with Croki nearby, Baby Sue has a corner with tall grass, and Nigel the reading dragon is taking up his bench!

And here's a closeup of some of the bricks, all of which were painted by my mom - some from online designs and some just out of her own thoughts like the cat brick with all our cats! Over time, the plantings of thyme (har har) will fill in the dirt as groundcover, leaving a magical pathway of small pink flowers and colored bricks. 😊

Random tip for those who want to show love to someone:

Some people like big gestures, some people prefer small but meaningful ones. I don't like a big bouquet of flowers because it takes up space and i will forget about it. But you know what i do like, and what I did for my mom today?

Mini bouquet. Go outside. Look for small flowers, they can be weeds, doesn't matter. I'm talking tiny stuff. Pick 4-6 of them, a variety if you can rather than all the same flower. Put it in a tiny jar.

It works because it means you went outside and put in a small amount of work to get your loved one a gift that won't take up space but still conveys sentiment rather than just "i spent my meaningless green paper on this cliche item that requires no thought and will wither after a while". It also works because tiny objects are endearing. Not guaranteed, though. Some people prefer a bigger flower.

i havent been into it for too long but im kinda surprised i havent seen a harrykim good ol classic florist and tattoo artist au

like yeah im not so sure how the logic of either of them being in those proffessions would work but im talking mostly aesthetics here

like. harry being a florist just. does something to me. like when kim is like he needs hobbies if you get the gardening gloves he suggest gardening is just very good. maybe its a bit of like instead of becoming a teacher first hes a florist first and stays there. or when he was a teacher they had some of a garden in there and he learned and then maybe got a part time job at a florist to support him on his teacher salary bc those usually arent enough. also i think he still has at least some of his adiction issues but not necesarily to the in game level (maybe amphetamines to be able to keep up with his lifestyle also maybe he grows weed but less relevant until later). and maybe he actually got to marry dora and is actually divorced here. working too much, not making enough money, and when back at home hes still an addict, maybe the relationship lasted more but still it never got good enough to keep.

and kim... theres a few options. either undercover just being on the tattoo shop somehow which is like. not the most sense making but still a possibility. or.. he never became a cop, either, got too disappoined by the system early on, noticed the injustice, but realized that it didnt matter what he did it wouldnt be enough. or he did join the rcm for a bit and then quit bc of that, maybe also eyes died in here too and that was the last straw for him leaving. maybe hes not necesarily the guy doing the tattoos, but more of the designs and piercings (i assume its a million times easier doing piercings than tattoos. i dont mean that it doesnt require a technique too tho but getting a needle through skin for a piercing seems easier than having the pulse to work on a permanent piece in someones skin with specific pressure with consistence, and if he was a cop and quit maybe he has shakier hands.... idk. i dont know how stuff like this works generally ngl. also idk. can you have a tattoo.. parlor? and do designs but not the tattoos themselves? id assume you can but no idea)

ok yeah something like that maybe. and also the shops are either side by side or right across the street. i can imagine harry walking through the tattoo parlor and looking at the designs and looking at a few plant based designs and liking them and just. going in. not exactly for a tattoo or anything but more to like. know how it is and maybe meet the artist and then he sees kim which i imagine with a lot of tattoos and piercings which is sort of whats fueling this at this point bc i wasnt gonna think about it for too long but now im too deep into it and like i imagine this kim as.. kind of distant as he tends to be, will try to hide the fact he was a cop bc at this point hes not proud of that, he just likes making designs while listening to speedfreaks fm, which you can hear from outside the parlor while walking on the streets, but he is cool, and if you talk to him he will talk to you, hes just maybe awkward but also he is kinda weird (which has harry like 👉👈)

and this was just going to be me saying "man i havent seen any of this" and instead i sort of made my take on it and it got longer than i expected. anyways!!!
