Artist Oliver Black wakes to discover his wife Evelyn has died in their bed overnight. Brimming with magical realism, we enter a world in which the misconceptions of our belief in a solid reality are revealed.

Space and time bend in a way to challenge the audience with what is real, what is illusion, and what is beyond... This peaceful and hypnotic quiet is interrupted by the outside world and the threat of everyday, common reality, thanks to Oliver's art dealer.

Alchemy of the Spirit is the latest feature from acclaimed indie director Steve Balderson (Firecracker, The Casserole Club), starring Xander Berkeley (Candyman, "24"), Sarah Clarke ("24", "Covert Affairs"), and cult icon Mink Stole (Female Trouble, Pink Flamingos). Balderson, Berkeley and Clarke penned the screenplay together.

Alchemy of the Spirit world premiered at Fantasporto in Portugal, picking up a nomination for Best International Feature, and went on to screen around the globe to critical acclaim, including and the International Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival, dominating the awards with Best in Show, Best Director for Balderson, Best Actor for Berkeley, and Best Actress for Clarke.

The Evermore Grimoire: The Elements

The Spirit Element is often referred to as a Fifth Element alongside Earth, Air, Fire and Water that exists within all four of them. Sprit is immaterial, yet present in all things, and does not exist apart from anything else. It is invisible, but essential for connection and balance between all other Elements. It dwells within us as living beings, both when we are aware of it and when we are not. Spirit is unlike the other four Elements in that, since it is part of everything, it does not have any specific ritual or magical correspondences. One exception though is colour (it may be represented by the colour white) as white is comprised of all colours combined. It does not have an associated gender, energy type, season, or cardinal direction. Spirit is associated with the entire Wheel of the Year as well as magical tools.
