Alfred Pennyworth: Alright, first things first. This man would be Chiron. In a heartbeat. At first I was thinking Dionysus, but Bruce fits more with Dionysus. He's reliable, considerate, and lends a helping hand if the kids ever need it. Also a horse bottom half would be fucking awesome. Alfred could kick so much butt.

Bruce Wayne: Dionysus. He is camp counselor. He is the dramatic one. He would fuck with the kids by saying he's their father, just so they could get him whatever he wanted. He holds no malicious intent behind this, and only wants to mess around with them. He will apologize if it hurts some of the kids. AND he is a dramatic emo. Case in point.

Dick Grayson: When I think ab him the first thing I see in my mind's eye is acrobat. Responsible older brother, dutiful, chaotic. At first I was thinking Athena, but THEN I was like wait- someone else is Athena's son. Not that Athena can't have two sons but it don't fit. He's Apollo's son. Ball of sunshine, can hold a wicked good tune, and kicks ass. A punch you least expect from someone who is so nice and kind.

Helena Wayne: Her dad is literally Dionysus, so people underestimate her. She's seen as the party girl, the rich spoiled kid who can't defend herself. Then next thing you know you're in the infirmary because she knocked you out. She is a theater kid like her dad, and tends to instill madness into those that go against her, sort of driving them insane. If they don't get medical attention right away. It pisses people off when she plays the part of a helpless rich girl and then suddenly has a powerful punch. But she is a good contender for Artemis.

Barbara Gordon: How can she not be Hermes daughter? She has the brains and the wits, but is in the background feeding all the Bats information. She keeps things running and helps Bruce not burn something to the ground, also helps Alfred keep his sanity. Technically, she could be considered camp counselor with how well things are run under her guidance and advice. She may have all the information, but only gives certain bits out for free. She also has hella blackmail on her family if they ever decide to cross her.

Jason Todd: Hella Ares vibes at first, but beneath that this man has strategy. Don't let his blind hatred for Joker fool you, he knows he has to understand a battle first and foremost. His loathing for Joker only gets in the way with clown related things, but he truly is Athena's son. He's well read and observes a battlefield, pointing out many vantage points so he can stay out of line of sight until the perfect moment.

Kate Kane: Artemis' daughter. She hunts down her enemies, and sticks to hiding in plain sight. She may not use a bow, but she has other ways to hunt her target without one. Quiet and strong, able to keep herself hidden until she can properly attack.

Tim Drake: Athena's son, like Jason. He's known as the one who comes up with the plans and often gets the others in the family to excecute him. He's the brainiac. It's known at a young age he found out who Batman and Robin were. He looked up to Batman. He followed Batman. He used detective skills to figure things out that adults hadn't even tired to. He's the mastermind. No, Babs is.

Turner Hayes: Aphrodite's son. He's pretty and uses that to his advantage. Others think he's the spoiled adopted son of Bruce Wayne, but he is nothing like what the media says about him. Regardless of how he may look he is rather cunning and smart, but it's hidden beneath a pretty face. The police didn't believe he was doing detective work because he didn't look like someone who would be able to do that, and they were wrong.

Stephanie Brown: Steph is trying to prove herself. She may not be seeking revenge, but she believes that she needs to prove herself in delivering justice like the rest of her family. Nemsis' daughter. She believes in doing the right thing, even if the right thing at that moment seems like the worst thing someone could do.

Harper Row: Nemesis' daughter. She doesn't feel right living in a world where there are bullies around. Harper wants to take down as many bad guys as she can to keep the streets safe for Gothamites. She seeks retribution and vengeance, trying to save others much like she saved her own brother. Her brother Cullen, is who drives her forward.

Cassandra Caine: Her strength is seeing things that others cannot, i.e. body language. Hypnos' daughter. Cass can read a room and understand immediately what is going on. Her sight is her power. She was taught to be an assassin that looks but never speaks. Able to use that to her advantage to get a one up on those she is fighting or going against.

Damian Wayne Al-Ghoul: Son of Nike(and Dionysus). His goal is victory, in anything. He trains hard and strives to be the best at what he does, Damian does not take second place. He believes he can only achieve something if he is the best and most powerful at it. That is why he stays in the Nike cabin to train and hone his skills. (Even if he has a bed at Dionysus cabin.) He doesn't tell people a lot, but he goes over to sleep in his dads cabin. Once in a while. The old man would think he was getting soft if Damian ever told him that.

So I'm just hoping into a discussion I'm like, really interested in here in the Cassandra Cain fandom.

That being: what is her "correct" title? Black Bat? Batgirl? Orphan (no)?

I have my opinion here: she is Batgirl. Yes. Absolutely. But I think Black Bat makes a lot of sense from the POV if it's what the people of Gotham call her. Let me remind you:

She is fucking terrifying. I know we all love our favorite gifted child. But this is a horror monster to anyone not on Tumblr. She heard "Criminals are a cowardly and superstitious bunch" and went bet bitch. If I saw this person next to ManBat I'd just assume that's what this was. Compared to the other batgirls more uniform design:

Cassandra is the outlier. My first thought as a civilian would not be "oh that's just another Batgirl." Even Kate Kane as Batwoman has the more human, batman inspired suit. And while I fully think of Cass as batgirl, I think the name "Black Bat" being what she's known as to the people makes sense, even after they learn she's not actually a scary batperson. Because LOOK at all the other batgirls, how are they going to distinguish? Oh the red haired one, the blond one, the black haired one, Batwoman and... The all black Batgirl? Shortened because humans are lazy to Black Bat. It makes sense.

Orphan? It honestly just doesn't fit. Like, I get it? But it has no link with anyone else in the Batfamily. It'd be a great name for her if she... You know.

Didn't have the BatFAMILY.

So, I guess to close. Cassandra Cain is Batgirl. By the time she comes in Bab's is already Oracle (RIGHT DC?! RIGHT?!) And all the other batgirls have decently established identities with awesome designs. Spoiler, Huntress, etc. Leaving a hole for a Batgirl, which she fills in a "I'ma be the heir to the throne" kinda way. Which is great. Conversely, as a regular person in Gotham, THAT AINT THE BATGIRL UNIFORM. That's scary. Plus like, there's so many Batgirls to keep track of that, frankly, she's the batgirl that's in all black with no other distinguishing details. She's the one in all Black. Blat Batwoman. Black Bat. I don't see why both can't exist.

okay so. my very first instinct was to say felicity, bc i think it'd be very cute and also bc i've actually written an ava/sara/felicity fic before.

(i'm joking, mostly, I'm just tired lol it's like 1AM here). in all seriousness, i think ryan and sara would very much match each other's energies of like. "there's so many things that are fucked up in the world, we've very much seen and lived through them, and we are going to do everything possible in our power to make the world a little less fucked up and to fight for what's right." and they won't take crap from anyone but also know there are times when they need to be held accountable. and obviously ava is also like that too, but i think her being a clone and having most of her memories programmed she doesn't have Quite as many of those experiences of like. yes the world is really fucked up. like sara and ryan would, but she 100% has the idea of like. but it doesnt have to be that way, there are things they can do to make it better. i think it'd be a really cool dynamic to see.

sophie moore - pretty much the same reason for most of these lmao, they're all very badass and i just think it would be neat

zari tomaz - bc halfway through me making a list i realized that i'd failed to mention any of the women from legends, despite being perfectly free to do so. again, mostly, i just think it'd be neatand i think that the 3 of them would be able to help each other a lot.

charlie - just, it would be so good. so good. also imagine charlie and sara annoying the shit out of ava bc they got high together and accidentally woke ava up in the middle of the night

amaya jiwe - again just, it would be very cool, and i think ava and amaya's personalities would greatly help to ground sara, and ava and amaya would appreciate the extra level-headedness and calm and planning and stuff no matter how much they fondly but exasperatedly adore sara's recklessness

Batwoman 3x01 was awesome

- That premiere was very strong and made me very happy. Ryan's time to shine is HERE. This what I wanted last season but I will enjoy it now

- Loving how the intro/flashback is Ryan & Luke (no Kate coming) into their own as black superheroes. Now is their time❤🦇💙

- I love that they opened up with Batwoman and Batwing team up. They know what we want

- I thought Luke was having a panic attack over bullets but nope the suit is having issues

- I hate that Jacob making Mary visit Alice. Jacob ignoring Mary😡 Can the Kane family really treat Mary in a more shitty fashion? The answer always seems to be yes. Fuck Jacob! Mary deserves better. Her found family is the best!

- Ryan is so proud of Mary graduating. Supportive besties🥰

- Sophie getting some🥵 Go girl have fun and get some

- Sophie knows Ryan so well that something is up and Ryan opens to her. My ❤

- Sophie worked HARD to find out Ryan's mom

- I'm loving Renee already

- Ryan's mom had two millions to cover up her pragnancy and she didn't make sure her baby got adopted by a good people? Didn't check into her? Fuck that bitch. I'm judging her so hard. She left that baby to the GOTHAM system. She could have had the baby someone se to give her a chance.

- I hope Ryan's bio dad isn't trash and we meet him at some point

- Poor Mary having her moment ruined related man obsessed with Alice. She can't have one thing in her life. It's always connected to Alice.

- I felt story for Alice's having to face that she made up Jacob writing to her & coming to save her. Yes, I felt sympathy for her but she needs to locked up for her actions & to protect others from her.

She needs mental help Arkham isn't best place for help so I'd happy if she was transferred to a better mental health jail at end of story. Though I'm the end of her story will be freedom not healing locked up.

- Mary having to do that surgery was horrible poor Mary. Glad everyone else was mind controlled too or else she'd be thought a monster.

- Copy Cat Mad Hatter learned Alice is a monster fitting ending to his hero worship

- Alice thinks locking her up is about Ryan's birth parents not MURDERING her mom, MURDERING Mary's mom, MURDERING so many others. She has no accountability for her actions. Or fact that she's still a danger to others.

- Mary's real speech was beautiful

- Wish Luke & Mary had a one on one scene with her graduating.

- Ryan choosing her found family and moving forward. Loving it.

- Luke really has more of a connection to his Dad now🥰

- Of course Alice is going to out Ryan's secret identity whenever it suits her

- Doctor Hamilton has arrived!!!

- Renee is making Ryan work with Alice. I did wonder why Ryan was in her street clothing in the trailer with Renee & Alice.

- This episode rocked. Really enjoyed it. S3 starting out strong.

hi! i’m new to reading dc, because i hear new 52 and rebirth kinda suck, do you have any batfamily recommendations?

Welcome aboard! I’m gonna say something controversial - new 52 and Rebirth aren’t totally bad. Don’t get me wrong, before Flashpoint Batfamily was GOING PLACES. But I think they started strong with Batman in new 52 (like the Court of Owls wer fantastic and Julia Pennyworth is amazing) but then the aftermath of this Batman v. Joker fight during Scott Snyder’s run kinda fizzled the Batman run. And don’t get me STARTED on the bullshit Tom King has done. Not even James Tynion can save the Rebirth Batman title (but that’s because the powers that be probably had a vision that’s most likely been canned given how a lot of the brass was let go). I digress...

For New 52, I highly recommend: Batman (up until the Batman mantle gets passed, which is 50 or so issues in), Grayson (I enjoyed the spy atmosphere, plus the introduction of Helena Bertinelli, Tiger, and Midnighter - officially), Red Hood and the Outlaws (although the early issues and how they treated Kori are iffy), DEFINITELY Batgirl (especially the Gail Simone run and then the Babs Starr run, Batgirl of Burnside ftw) and - I’m including her into the Batfamily - the Harley Quinn series, because that’s good no matter WHAT. Things I’ve heard good things about but haven’t fully in-depth read were We Are Robin and Catwoman, although the former ends kind of unsatisfyingly. And, again, not Batfamily but adjacent - Gotham Academy. I was SO MAD when it ended because it was one of the best comics DC was producing. Oh and there was a Robin series where he has a giant bat!!! That was really good, too. 

Rebirth they really fucked themselves over for the Batfam. Don’t even look at Batman, the first few issues are okay but then it gets muddled in this Bane plot and ‘War of Jokes and Riddles’ which was the WORST Batman storyline ever. Went on too long imo because you kind of forget this is all Bruce telling Selena about his ‘worst sin’ even though she’d be DTF no matter what. Plus there’s so much emphasis on Kite Man (i think even an issue is dedicated to his POV which makes no sense given the context the story’s being told but again Tom King SUCKS). It’ll make you feel like you read a comic book of How I Met Your Mother. Only Batman issues I recommend are the ones that are Flash crossovers because those are my favs for obvi reasons. What you want to do is get into first year of Rebirth Detective Comics because 1) Cassandra Cain 2) Stephanie Brown 3) Kate Kane 4) Clayface!?!?! 5) Tim Drake 6) Dr. Oktober; Honestly it was such a good ensemble piece (James Tynion is an awesome writer, he’s not a miracle worker unfortunately). That was a good run, although it does change plot at a certain point - which was sad - but it still feels like a Batman book even after the ensemble leaves, better than the actual Batman title. So sticking with that over the Batman main series is good. I think Rebirth Outsiders was trying to capture that magic except the writing isn’t that good plus there were a bunch of creative differences that delayed the first issue and I lost any excitement for it (which was sad because I love all the characters in it - Duke, Black Lightning, and Katana). Batgirl, again, although you’ll come to a point where it stops being amazing - and that is when she ditches her Babs Starr costume for something AWFUL. #BringBackBurnsideBatgirl Once you see the costume change either lower your expectations or move on because it doesn’t recover. I’ve heard good things about the Catwoman series but I haven’t read it. What I have read is Harley Quinn (again unofficial Bat family member) and that has been consistently amazing (even if the last few issues gave Harley questional/straightwashed tastes). DEFINITE reads though that shouldn’t be too long (because DC likes ending good things) are Batwoman and Batgirl & the Birds of Prey. The Batwoman comic was too good for this world, we need more Kate Kane in our lives. And the Birds of Prey series felt like the movie a bit. They definitely seemed like friends (unlike the new 52 version, which was AWFUL) and there’s one story where the men of Gotham get sick that is so good I’m waiting on DC to turn it into an animated feature. Those titles are both like twenty or so issues. There’s a Midnigther and Apollo miniseries that was so great (also unofficial member). Red Hood and the Outlaws I liked, but after Roy leaves it lost the magic. Rebirth Nightwing was good at first, but Tom King ruined it even though he doesn’t write for that title. Best storyline was when he gets involved with this group for reformed criminals while in Bludhaven. The most recent storyline wasn’t bad, in a sense. The characters brought on were interesting. It was just apbrupt and clearly not what the actual writer had in mind, but they had to write around Tom King. And overall the character of Nightwing suffered. Young Justice doesn’t feel too canonical (and Drake is a stupid name); Teen Titans is okay but Damian is an edgelord. 

Moving on from that, outside of Rebirth and New 52, some other titles that I’ve enjoyed featuring the Batfamily were: Cassandra Cain’s Batgirl, Stephanie Brown’s Batgirl, Gotham City Sirens, Batman, Inc., Batman & Robin (with Dick as Batman, Damian as Robin), the Outsiders (the spin-off from Titans, probably in the mid-2000s with Dick Grayson leading)...

There was an interesting Detective Comics arc I read about the GCPD starring Renee Montoya that dealt with her ‘coming out’ (in the loosest of terms given how it happened).

A Batman/Superman arc I love revisiting is when they re-introduce Supergirl (and speaking of Batman/Superman, find the issue(s) where Superman gets affected by silver kryptonite and turns into a stoner because THAT was funny)

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention No Man’s Land or Batman Year One because those two kind of establish Gotham and the Batman character... You could read the Killing Joke but you can easily sum the entire story up with one panel (probably one of the first images that pops up when you google The Killing Joke). A better, edgier Batman story - imo - is when he gets addicted to Venom. Or the Death of Jason Todd - which reminds me Under the Red Hood is a good story! (I didn’t read the comic lol but I did watch the movie - Jensen Ackles ftw).

If you’re looking for kooky, anything from the 40s up to before Crisis on Infinite Earths where ANYTHING went. From World’s Finest to the Batman title, they got to some pretty insane shit. Very campy. Although the nineties-early 2000′s were campy in their own way, like so on the other end of the spectrum from ‘camp’ that it became camp again. There’s two different Batman storylines that were VERY anti-drugs (Shadow of the Bat was the running title, I think; one story against weed and the other against LSD) that were so ridiculous and trying to push kids away from doing drugs that you couldn’t help but realize how ridiculous and over-the-top this was.

Finally there are Elseworlds titles. Everyone always raves for Batman: Gotham by Gaslight but I think two very interesting takes on a Batman of a different world are: Batman - Holy Terror, and Batman: Nosferatu. There’s also an Elseworlds with Barbara as Batwoman and a female Joker (Batgirl: Thrillkiller I believe) and one that has Catwoman as the hero of Gotham and Bruce Wayne as a sadistic killer.

My favorite is Bette Kane and honestly I gotta say the portions of her history I hate is the entirety of the NTT era where she was written as a Robin/Nightwing groupie who just wanted to fuck Dick. And I also hate what's happening to her right now. Ever since Batwoman (2011) used Bette, she's been derailed. The writers took my sweet beautiful happy Bette and turned her into an angsty, moody hero who is subservient to Kate. It ruffles my feathers

Oh! She sounds awesomeness. It hurts when writers don't respect your favourite characters. Also, is her incompetence similar to dick's incompetence in DCAU, the character being so awesome and straight up badass but is just sidelined every time and is severely underpowered while the other character is too overpowered and gets too much attention *cough* damian *cough*.

Now bear with me. I haven’t touched anything Marvel in a couple of years so I’m not sure I’ll be able to do all the points simply because my memory has turned to trash.

You get the Maria Hill in my head which is a curious mix of both comic and MCU.

Why I like them

Look, it’s not rocket science. I see a badass soldier girl, I’m going to take an interest. That said: Maria was set up to fail. She was given the post of frigging Nick Fury just shy before they pushed through the Superhuman registration act. She was supposed to be their dog, willing to butt heads with superheroes and arrest them. She was a scapegoat when it all inevitably went wrong.

She survived anyway. She was drowning, but she picked herself up and refused to be the failure they wanted her to be. She made allies and got through. She became a good director. She became someone her people could rely on. Who put their safety before her own ego.

Why I don’t

There’s more than a couple of times where the writing failed her. Where she gets used to show how much better someone else is. I hate how she fell into bed with Tony in the comics. It was stupid and cliché and not her. I hate how she was a lamppost in the AoU. I hate cardboard Maria.

Favorite season/movie

Movie would be the Winter Soldier, but it’s not like there’s much options.

Comic: anything in the Black Widow series. Maria is simply awesome in it and her relationship with Natasha is amazing. Their mutual trust on each other, it’s just... Yeah. Two people who have learned time and again that no one can be trusted, but somehow find they do trust the other. 

Favorite outfit

Maria in her classic MCU SHIELD uniform is enough really. 

Though cargo pants and black t-shirt wasn’t bad either...

I believe that at the end of Secret Avengers there was a shot of Maria in a leather jacket looking gay as fuck. I wish I could find a screenshot of it, but alas. Have this instead.

Hard to think of one off the top of my head right now. There’s bits and pieces you can find in To The Wolves. It predates Gone to the Dogs, but the latter actually borrowed a lot of these headcanons that I had been jotting down while I was exploring the canon. It’s rough and unedited, but there you have it.

Unpopular opinion

I love Cobie Smulders. She got me interested in Maria Hill, but I absolutely hate the influence she had on the comics. Maria’s art was inconsistent to begin with, but the whitewashing of the movies seeped into the comic book art like a bad taste. The Latina Maria Hill was quickly replaced by fair skinned, blue eyed Maria and I loathe it.

A wish

A Black Widow movie based on the comics where Maria plays a huge role. No Bucky, no Steve. Just Natasha and Maria.

DC Animated Rewatch - Batman: Bad Blood 

Despite what the title says, this is really Nightwing and Batwoman’s movie and I’m cool with that. 

This was my introduction to Kate Kane/Batwoman and it does a good job with Kate’s character: it establishes that she’s a lesbian, we learn about her background with the military and what happened to her mom & sister. Would it have killed them to have established that she’s also Jewish and Bruce’s cousin? 

This was also my introduction to Luke Fox/Batwing, who is also awesome, but definitely gets more of a supporting role/less focus than Kate, Dick and Damian. 

Dick has to wear the Batsuit for a while and he’s super unhappy about it. I enjoy an homage to Battle for the Cowl as well as faithful to the comics characterization.   

There’s a battle scene in the second act where Batwoman and Nightwing have to rescue Batman and Robin from Talia’s compound, which is in a convent. The nuns attack Batwoman and Nightwing with guns and katanas. This is great 1) because Nightwing calls them “nunjas” and 2) because it reminded me that I need to start Warrior Nun (which along with The Old Guard has been all over my dash lately.) 

There’s a villain called The Heretic in here which is later revealed to just be an aged clone of Damian. He’s there for some fight scenes and for us to see how ruthless Talia has become when she kills him for disobeying her. Felt like kind of a waste.  

Seriously, Talia doesn’t give a fuck about her kid(s), which I guess is where the “Bad Blood” title comes from (a title I hated at the time because the Taylor Swift song came out around the same time.) She tells a brainwashed Bruce in the final act to “kill the bastard, we can always make more” - which was funny to me in the moment because sometimes I’m like fuck Damian, but like....okay. So I know Talia’s whole deal is basically daddy issues and her feelings for Bruce; there are ways to work with that and make the character still be enjoyable and this movie does not do that. 

Batwoman’s fight with Talia is pretty epic though. 

Alfred actually fights in this movie - which is fantastic in and of itself, but it’s even better because I enjoyed the fact that they had the butler fight a man named Kuttler. 

I never liked the Mad Hatter; Alice in Wonderland, Batman villain, whatever. I do like there’s basically a humanoid walrus villain named Tusk.  

It was a fairly decent BatFamily movie. Hope to see one someday that also includes Jason and Barbara (I’m not familiar with the other BatFam members but they can come too.) 

Speaking of which, they tease Batgirl at the end of the movie...and again, as far as I can remember, never do anything with her.

A random headcanon: Rory is an incomprehensible typer. All of his text messages are a garble of keysmashing typos and emojis and nobody knows what the fuck he's saying ever unless they get him on a phone call or video chat.

Idea for a story: If dc wasn’t a coward I think you could do a really awesome horror comic book w Rory????? Like a comic book where it’s split up in two narratives- Rory's pov usually in the guise of his everyday life, and then his activities as ragman, as shown through the eyes of the ppl he's stopping, like the criminals and villains and stuff. In his later appearances they like took him more lighthearted but rorys whole thing is rly scary??? He literally ABSORBS your souls leaving you in this like purgatory hell its TERRIFYING. First impression: The 70s version was really weird, 90s comics good but the second one is like bordering on super racist, and he's great in shadowpacts era

Impression now/General opinion over the character: not super different I adore him and I wish more people acknowledged he exists >_< he's such a fun inchresting character and its always nice to see a character whose so focused on Judaism in his lore and character and its not done badly in a medium began by jewish men

I've watched the Batwoman Premiere three times *Slight spoilers*

Ruby Rose is amazing, first off. Perfect choice for Kate Kane.

I will admit though that Ruby had some awkward movements like she wasn't a hundred percent comfortable in the clothes she was wearing or that the direction of what she was told to do was a bit vague so she was awkward in the movements (or that they didn't have enough tennis balls for her to react to)

I do have to admit that, just like EVERY Pilot episode in the CW-Arrowverse, it was a little awkward and some of the scenes were a bit slow - literally every Arrowverse pilot episode was slightly awkward and slow. The only reason it doesn't seem like it during rewatches is because we've seen the actors/characters chemistries change and grow into the amazingness they havee now.

The Opening scene was a good introduction to Kate's character but that annoying cliche trope character was a bit much, unneeded might be the best word.

The narration is an obvious characteristic of all CW-Arrowverse shows so I didn't mind it at all.

The Event scene was... slow. Kate Kane's step-mom is straight up an asshole already and I hope they develope her into something more.

Mary... whatever her last name is - Kate's stepsister is adorable and brilliant and I love the stereptypical-rich-girl switch they made for her. I can't wait to see what they do with her character.

Alice is already awesome. I've loved the actresses since she appeared in Lost Girl, and Wynonna Earp. I cannot wait to see what they do with her.

Agent Sophie Moore is... interesting. She seems like the type of character I'll love but at the moment she seems a bit odd.

The whole Sophie-Kate-Tyler thing is off to me, It gives me a bad feeling. And The Idea that even after Sophie passed the Military school she kept her this... alternate story of her heart feels a bit wierd. [The fact that homosexual conduct contract thing even exists in the show and the real world bugs me to no end, by the way]

Now, I won't say Sophie's not in love with her husband, she could be Bi and genuinely has feelings for him (I havent heard anything to the contrary but I also don't keep up with rumors or anything like that) but, there is something emotional between her and Kate that bugs me - gives me a bad feeling.

I hope they approach this 'triangle of angst' with caution and fully flesh out the characters outside the triangle before really delving into fucking shit up.

I like how their following in Supergirl's footsteps on how to hide Batman, Like how Supergirl never did close up shots/had the sun block his face/long distance shots where you can't see the body double. They seem to be following that in Batwoman with Batman flashbacks. I like that.

When does her Batsuit get it's wig and Red bat?? Like for real I thought that was gonna be the 'cliffhanger' in the first episode but it wasn't. I hope that happens soon. [[She kinda looks like Catwoman without the red wig and bat.- if she lost the Cape she would be a perfect mimix]]

Also, I hope there's a scene of her getting used to the long wig because she actually has short hair in real life. Maybe she gets it stuck on her lips, or in her eyes, or it tangles, or something and she makes an annoyed comment.

The whole backlash Batwoman is getting for having 'cringy feminism' didn't exist (as loudly) with Supergirl yet they both have a fuckton of feminism/feministic storylines. So, I don't understand the backlash at and I won't be commenting on it much because I don't understand it.

Moving on.

I think the show has a lot of potential. People keep saying it will be cancelled after the first season, I don't think it will be. If the show does get cancelled, I don't think it will happen until after the second or third season - I really hope it doesn't get cancelled. It has so much potential and I want to see it flourish.

I also can't wait to see how this season connects with the Crisis.

Edit:: I also wanna say that the idea of Kate running towards things that don't want her and then deciding to stop running towards it and create her own path with people who actually want her (even if it's just as a masked vigilante) speaks to me heavily and I think they should expand on that idea a little more.

I also kind of hope that this decision of Kate's effects her/Sophie because Sophie may still want her romantically but Soph is married... so I hope that Kate builds her own path [Learning to want herself and love who she is without rushing towards people/things who seem to not want her and pushing herself to be in their lives] before even entertaining the idea of fighting for Sophie to admit she still has feelings for her -- If that's the direction they take the triangle of angst.
