44. A „Superman & Lois“-Crossover with the rest of the Arrowverse

No matter what certain people claim „Superman & Lois“ was always supposed to take place on Earth Prime, which is the reason why they did cast Tyler und Bitsie for the show, had John Diggle guest star on it, and even brought back the „Supergirl“-Version of Lucy Lane. Rumour has it they even wanted Adrian Pasdar back as Morgan Edge and a foto of Melissa was shown during the Pilot. „Oliver and the others“ were mentoned as if there were other superheroes, and until the Bizarro World came along they did very purposefully not use doppelgangers of living persons in the present of the show. Lex Luthor was mentoned in a way that added up to his status on Earth Prime, and there was talk about crossovers with the other shows like all the time. The scene in „Crisis on Infinite Earths“ that showed Lois talking with Clark about her sons (plural) had no card indicating it was not taking place on Earth Prime, so yeah, it was supposed to take place there.

Therefore we were supposed to get crossovers. Originally there was supposed to be two-part crossover with „Batwoman“, in which characters from the other shows were also supposed to appear. Then this was supposed to be replaced with the infamous „John Diggle in all shows“-Crossover. Neither of those ever happened, and both versions would have involved „Superman & Lois“ very much taking place on Earth Prime. So if any of those would have happend, „Superman & Lois“ would still be part of the Arrowverse today.

By the time Season 2 rolled around … well there was talk about Kara appearing on the show. That never happened either, and if there were plans for a Crossover Event between shows we weren’t told about it. They kind of replaced that idea with a string of Crossover Episodes on „The Flash“, and „Armageddon“ was originally supposed to feature Superman. But that did not work out, and he would not have done very much. And of course there is a Tyler Hoechlin Superman on Earth Prime, so they could have still gone through with the whole „The show does not take place on Earth Prime“-Nonesense, even if that would have happened.

By the end of Season 2 we realized that the only crossovers that ever happend, those with „Arrow“ via John Diggle, had not been crossovers at all, because it was not John Diggle after all, only a doppelganger of him. Which means there were never any crossovers between „Superman & Lois“ and the any other Arrowverse Show.

And since pretty much everything else was cancelled, „The Flash“ is ending, „Stargirl“ is fighting for its life, and no one knows on which Earth „Gotham Knights“ is even supposed to take place (not Earth Prime, that we know!), there is never going to be a crossover with the Arrowverse on that show now.

Earth Prime does not even know that there is a Multiverse, so unless the figure that out in Season 9 of „The Flash“ and have Grant Gustin guest star as Barry Prime at some point in Season 3 or Season 4 (and there might not even be a Season 4), there simple is no way or reason to have a crossover happening.

Even if they bring back Melissa as Supergirl or Stephen Amel as Green Arrow it would be the „Superman & Lois“-Version of those characters not the Earth Prime Versions, so it would not be a crossover. Lex Luthor from Earth Prime could be pulled ot of the Phantom Zone on their Earth, but this won’t happen anytime soon, and after that … frankly, even if the show contiunes beyond Season 3, someone wanted it to have nothing do with the Arrowverse it was born in ever since they started filming the first episode, so they just won’t do any more crossovers. Especially after there are no more Arrowverse Shows, that are still on, and that will actually be the case once „The Flash“ has ended. Even „Stargirl“ is not really an Arrowverse Show, since there never was a proper crossover with that show either. So yeah, that is sadly never ever going to happen. The Haters behind the scene won.

Her experience with martial arts and sword fighting might have convinced the fans who weren't familiar with her previous roles yet!

This tall strongman from Iceland seemed the perfect fit for the friendly giant!

3. Kevin Chamberlin as Tom with 89.1% of the votes.

Tom's a fishman, Kevin is human. And yet, look at their faces: the same. The fans could do nothing but agree with this fan cast (though they would also love him as Wapol).

2. Michael Jai White as Ohm with 89.8% of the votes.

Corporate needs you to find the differences between these two pictures.

No one voted against this fan cast, so in that aspect you could say he should be the winner! However, a few more people needed to be convinced, compared to the number one...

I follow your OP fics on ao3 - thanks so much for sharing your writing!

I think I remember seeing somewhere on your blog that you have a story idea for Law losing his memory and becoming the third Corazon after Doffy captures him in Dressrosa. If you dont mind, could you talk a bit more about your idea?

Good memory! That was one of the plot bunnies I was choosing among after finishing "Lead Me Back to Suffering." I eventually went with what would become "(I Made My Mind) A Sunless Space," but I really loved all the ideas. I would love to talk more about it!

A little background: The inspiration for that idea came from Batwoman season 2, in which Kate Kane is hypnotized into believing she is the villain's dead daughter. She is given the memories and personality of the woman dead woman. Eventually, she overcomes the brainwashing and remembers who she is. It was a messy way to deal with the lead actress leaving after season 1 rather than just recasting the character.

So, the story idea was that when Doffy brings Law back to the palace after shooting him, he also brings in a hypnotist capable of rewriting memories, a la Enigma, who brainwashes Kate in Batwoman. By this point, Luffy, Viola, and Kyros have arrived, but they aren't able to stop the hypnotist from brainwashing Law, changing his memories so that he believes he stayed with the Family all along and is Doffy's loyal Corazon.

In my mind's eye, I can see Luffy running toward the hypnotism to try to stop it and catching Law's horrified gaze before Law loses consciousness. When Law comes to once more, he is Corazon. With Law joining the Donquixote Family, the tide of the battle turns. Luffy refuses to fight Law, and the Straw Hats in Dressrosa are captured.

However, all is not lost. Because the hypnotist had to change so many memories, it will take time before Law's new set of memories solidify and the old Law is gone (like 48-72 hours). Until then, there is still hope that the real Law can be recovered. Occasionally, the real Law breaks through to the surface for a few short moments, and Luffy is determined to bring Law back so they can take Doffy down together.

1001 nights. Thanks to Batman: The Cult, Jason must know how to deprogram someone. In The Man Who Stopped Laughing, he discovers that Joker goes around brainwashing people into Joker-lites. Do the math.

5 times dick and zatana fooled around on dick's birthday and 1 time they didn't. What it says. I consider it part of the same continuity as my longer Young Justice WIP.

aditf: jason survives. I came up with this one before the fauximile, and it doesn't follow that. It'll focus on Jason's recovery and asks questions about what his survival would have changed in Batman comics as a whole, going forward.

amnesiac!jason. Circa new-earth, before Damian entered the picture. Jason faced something that broke his psyche and, while it was getting fixed, Bruce took creative licenses. Now Jason lives a "normal" life, starting college, working... but something is clearly WRONG. I swear I came up with this story before Gotham War xD, but there were some eerie parallels that jumpted at me as I read lol.

batwoman / robin: 2.0. AU of Batwoman's third season. Upon the realisation that a lot of what instantly appealed to me about batwoman!Ryan is similar to what appeals to me about robin!Jason, I decided to sit down and write about it. And I took advantage of it to tackle some changes I really didn't like in s3.

caretaker red hood (prev. bloodsharing wip). I read that at least in some comics it's been said that Jason (and Bruce, but that's less relevant) is 0-. I engineered a situation where the (still masked) Red Hood had to give a blood transfusion on the field to Bruce, and to take care of his injuries.

cass & jason: street kids. Cass makes it to Gotham a bit earlier, wandering the city, homeless. Just around the time a catatonic Jason is around, sharing his food with other homeless people. And just in time for her to intervene when people try to take Jason away.

convergence + incorporated: hold my beer (brand new!). Takes the end of the new earth timeline and puts Jason & Bruce on a difference direction, taking inspiration from Convergence: Batman and Robin, the basic premise of Batman Incorporated, and explores how Bruce killing Darkseid could've affected things.

damon and elena: marriage of doom. the quieter horror that I think Elena and Damon's marriage would inevitably be (especially in an universe where Damon put his money where his mouth was re: alienating others, and he killed Jeremy instead of Tyler).

dc vs. vampires, re-imagined. I read the first volume of that story and I was... disappointed. I decided to do my own spin on it: more character focused, less about the JL/saving the world~~ shenanigans. And obviously, Jason lives xD (well. Technically).

desperate housewives/spn crossover. all based on a dream I had where Tom Scavo was brutally killed by some monster and the late-seasons spn team came to infiltrate the suburbs and investigate LOL.

gotham: bruce plots a murder. Future fic set on the Fox show, about how that Bruce might react to Valeska killing Jason. The title sounds tongue-in-cheek but this is very angsty I swear.

gotham war: everything gets worse. Exactly that xD. I took what happened to Jason in GW seriously and poured more angst over it. What if he got hurt in some incurable way that meant he'd need to change his life going forward? What if he couldn't bring himself to save the child in Catwoman #57? What if the Joker did something much worse to "cure" him? And so on and so forth.

rogue green lantern!Jason. Someone on reddit joked about how, if Jason "overcame great fear" during Gotham War, he could get a ring. I don't think he'd join the Corps, but he would also not renounce to such power coming at a time of such vulnerability either.

immortal!Jason. It's basically canon that new earth!Jason came back from things that should have killed him with no explanation. So what if he can resurrect, over and over? This is about each of the Bats finding out about it.

orpheus!jayeddie. Jason finds out that Kid/Red Devil, his only peer from back in the day, got his soul sent to Hell.

jason + joker’s last laugh. Jason finds out about what happened in that arc (Dick beating the Joker to death, Bruce resucitating him). It only makes things worse.

jason’s journals. AU of War Games. Steph survives and is recovering in the Manor. There, she finds some old journals, written by the mysterious second Robin... and she, Tim, and Cass start to unravel the stories they'd been told about Jason vs. what he wrote himself. Just in time for the Red Hood to come into town.

jason’s new rules. Jason takes a victim's death really hard and reevaluates. Set on some amalgam of the main continuity, post-Alfred's death.

journalist!dick. Prompted by a tumblr post discusing how he could've gotten inspired to be an investigative journalist (thanks to Clark & Lois!). It takes things from Nightwing & Batman comics, and from the UTRH animated film, twisting some things around (for example, in this world Batman never took another sidekick after Jason's death, so Cass, Steph, and Tim's stories go differently).

kidnapping wip. Also inspired by a weird dream. Bruce manages to snatch Jason at the end of UTRH, takes him to the Manor to heal, and decides to try a little Stockholm syndrome. I also came up with this one before Gotham War xD

outlaws vs. justice league: simulation. If you haven't read the "Red Hood: Outlaws" webtoon, the premise is that Jason, Artemis, and Bizarro are made the new JL for a provation period... and then it's revealed they'd been put in a simulation without their consent (a simulation where they showed more compassion to some of the "criminals" they meant to hunt than the JL did). Then the webtoon did nothing with that, which really disappointed me. So I ran with it instead.

prison break: robins. Jason is facing the death penalty (for something he 100% did, lbr). Dick can't take it and puts himself in the same prison.

time travel: robin jason. You know all those AUs where robin!Jason suddenly appears on the present, and everyone has to deal with all the angst that brings? I want to do my own take on that. Lots of Jason & Jason bonding.

young justice: FÉNIX. In which I do what I've wanted to for years and write THEE yj!Jason-centric fic that's been so clear in my head. Featuring a lot of Jason & Damian, Jason & Bats reuniting, and tons of secret identity shenanigans.

Thoughts on Batman by Jewishness?

This one's harder mostly because Batman has had like a million fucking movies and shows and I have not seen even close to all of them - I didn't even find him that compelling as a character until I got into his children. Also we're defining Batman as Bruce Wayne because obviously Dick Grayson isn't Jewish and I don't know anything about Terry McGinnis and evil future Batman!Tim Drake might be Jewish but he's essentially a recurring what if character. Ok here we go

In last place we have Batfleck. Even if Ben Affleck had any interest in portraying Bruce Wayne jewishally, he sucked and I hate him in the role, so I'm giving him a -5/10 just for being in bad movies. Fuck you pick better scripts

After that we have the Dark Knight Trilogy Batman. Extremely well made and enjoyable movies. Not much like comic Batman imo. 1/10

Next we have Battinson. I actually don't mind this movie! I don't like it nearly as much as it seemed everybody else had, and I really wish we could get a Batman movie that acknowledges he has a fucking family in the year of our lord 5783, but it's still a good movie. However, no indication that Bruce is Jewish. I do however think this Bruce is way funnier, so extra points for making me laugh out loud in the theater repeatedly. 3/10

Up next is Lego Batman from the Lego Batman movie. I don't know he just gives me good vibes. He's got a Robin, which automatically puts him closer to comic canon than any other filmic version of Batman, making him Jewish by association. 5/10 I guess

I only watched one season of Gotham but hey, it was a pretty good season before I realized what I really wanted to be watching was Smallville, which I then proceeded to watch all ten seasons of over the course of four weeks (I was in, how you say, a depression). I probably would've watched more (see: in a depression), but there was only one season in existence at the time. It seemed fine to me, although I know a lot more about Batman now than I did then, but it seemed decently connected to the spirit of the comics. Bonus points for David Mazouz being a Jewish actor - the only Jewish actor on this list fyi - but at least in the one season I watched, he was not confirmed Jewish, so let's say a 7/10 (is this technically even a Batman? I have no idea what happens in the later seasons)

Finally we have our main continuity comic book Batman, the only (afaik) canonically Jewish Batman on this list! Batman was made Jewish by association when his maternal cousin, Kate Kane aka Batwoman, was created as an explicitly Jewish character. Sidenote, she's a great character and I adore her. But yeah although he is essentially canonically Jewish it's never actually addressed within his stories - he's only ever spoken about his father being Christian and him not following in his footsteps, as far as I know. I give it a 9/10, losing a point for only being Jewish on a technicality. DC, like Marvel, are also cowards

Honorable mention to any animated movie based directly on a comic such as the Under the Red Hood movie being Jewish by association as well. Let's give that archetype of Bruce a 7.5/10

This #Batwoman AU is based on the ABC tv series #Revenge. Ryan Wilder had just about everything taken from her when we met her, and she was doing her best to get it back. In this version of the story, that means taking some people down along the way. And, she's definitely no hero.

Okay, so, I was a no show (for the first time ever) last Friday. Please forgive me, but I had an absence letter from Queen Bey. That's right, instead of writing or talking about my beloved fic, I was dancing my ass off at the Renaissance concert. So, thank you in advance for your forgiveness.

I DO have a sneak peek for you this week (which is super duper draft 1, so words might shift here and there by the time it's posted on A03 - bear with me). And, if life allows, I'm working towards posting this chapter in full by September 1st (which would mean only one more week of teasers for "season one.") Per always, please send me all the writing vibes you've got. Words are coming, but not always quickly, so every bit of wishful thinking helps!

CHAPTER SEVEN SNEAK PEEK

TUESDAY, JULY 11TH, 9:00 PM, RUSSEL TAVAROFF’S CAR

Russel has been sitting in his car for two hours, paralyzed by his thoughts. A little more than twelve hours ago, he’d just finished his second cup of coffee when he was called into Jacob Kane’s office. He took his time explaining everything he’d come up with on Luke Fox, his concerns about Sophie Moore’s conflict of interest, and his speculation on why Luke could be after the Kane family, with evidence in hand. The Commander let him do most of the talking, never really looking at the printouts, but asking the occasional follow up question for clarification. When it seemed Tavaroff had covered everything, the Commander sat back in his seat, and then asked him what his career goals were. Of course, Tavaroff said he’d really appreciated the opportunity to learn from him, and that he hoped to continue doing so. He felt it was an honor to be trusted with the responsibility of interim Lieutenant Commander.

Jacob took the folder of files, and thanked Russel for bringing him up to speed. He said that if he was going to continue taking on new assignments, he’d need to make room on his desk, and asked him to start delegating the things he’d been working on to several people he was reassigning, especially with Tyler being out of commission, and them having trading cases before the accident. So, Tavaroff spent the day doing as he was asked.

By 4PM, there was a 5PM meeting on his calendar, with Jacob Kane’s office as the location. The agenda stated they’d be discussing next steps. The only next step was for Tavaroff to sign an NDA in exchange for a package, which included his salary for the remainder of the year, his vacation payout, and the cash value of his stock in an exit bonus. Should he choose not to sign and leave quietly, an investigation would need to be initiated, and a psych evaluation completed, with potential disciplinary actions taken that could limit his ability to work in law enforcement again in the future.

The Commander did thank him for his commitment to the organization, and dedication to protecting his family. Unfortunately, his decision to pursue Luke Fox without approval, who was too visible as an executive at his daughter’s company, and as the son of the renowned Lucius Fox, did not demonstrate the kind of judgment that the Commander expected from someone at Tavaroff’s level. He felt a mutual separation was the fairest course of action.

Upon signing, he was asked to hand over his firearm and badge. Then, he was escorted to his desk, where a box was awaiting him to collect any personal items he’d brought to the office, which needed to be approved to take with him. He didn’t make eye contact with anyone still in the building on his way out, let alone speak to them, because he could feel their eyes casting judgment against him. Embarrassed was simply an inept word for how he felt.

They did take a look around his car, to make sure he didn’t have anything of theirs laying around that they’d need to confiscate, but they really relied on the NDA to protect them. The truth was, they weren’t above more permanent forms of termination if they felt like a prior employee posed a security threat. There were very few examples of anyone taking such a risk that required mitigation, but in the rare occasion, those people managed to have surprisingly coincidental incidents occur that made them a non-issue.

When Tavaroff arrived home around 6PM, he’d changed out of his suit and tie, taken a shower, drank a beer, and then noticed a folder he’d left on his kitchen table. He walked over to it, and saw a few printed pictures that he’d been meaning to come back to and analyze with more intention, but he’d lost track of the idea. There were two high school yearbook photos: one for Sophie Moore, and one for the girl two grades younger, Angelique Martin. And then there was a third image of Angelique bartending at O’Mally’s during some sort of holiday party.

He closed the folder, frustrated with himself. He didn’t work for them anymore, so these people's stories shouldn’t matter. He’d dedicated years of his life to a company that turned its back on him when he was trying to protect them. The compulsion to break away led him to put on his shoes, and head out the door, in his basketball shorts and tshirt.

He’d gotten into his car, and didn’t know where to go. He didn’t know who to call. He didn’t know what he’d say to them if he did call. So he just sat, waiting for an idea to materialize. Instead, the only thoughts he was berated with were rehashings of how these people could ruin life as he knew it. Sure, this wasn’t the only thing he had going, but so much of who he was tied back to his role at The Crows.

Now, two hours later, he’s tired of sitting. He needs to do something. He needs answers, and to take his control back. He decides to pick up where Tyler left off.

this is making me even madder about hs having 3 seasons already but our shows (the wilds, first kill, batwoman, ianowt, everything sucks) that actually focus more on wlw have so much uncertainty / are already cancelled (with unhappy ending) and never get more than 1-2 seasons (batwoman got 3 but 2-3 are the ones people actually like to watch from what i’ve seen) eventhough it’s a big hit with wlw

Wonder Woman/Winter(piloting the Justice League’s Javelin aircraft and seeing Pyrrha fly past with Young Justice in her old stealth plane): …

Troia/Pyrrha(seeing her mentor fly past and activate the stealth function, turning the aircraft invisible): !!!

Green Arrow/Sun(seeing the aircraft fade out): Was she just piloting your Invisible Jet?

Wonder Woman(facing forward again): Yes…

Blue Beetle/Weiss(looking at Winter with a raised brow): Without your permission?

Orphan(explaining as Robin moves out from under her): That’s what we refer to ourselves. The kids taken into the “Batfamily”.

Robin(sighing): They keep insisting that me and my sisters refer to them as our “siblings”…

Kid Flash(running on a treadmill): Why isn’t this treadmill breaking apart under my speed?

The Flash(smirking as his nephew runs): Your Aunt Ruby helped me design and build this one, we call it the “Cosmic Treadmill”.

Green Lantern/Ruby(checking their nephew’s vitals): It’s designed to withstand his speed and allow him to better control the destination he ends up at when he uses the Speedforce.

Aquaman/Neptune(arms crossed): It would get annoying when he accidentally ended up going too far back whenever he tried to time-travel and prevent an explosion from killing all of us…

Green Lantern/Ren: There were also times he would accidentally go FORWARD in time and we would end up with TWO Jaune’s for awhile.

Kid Flash(surprised): WE CAN TIME TRAVEL?!?!?!

Superwoman/Yang(explaining to her son): Yeah, the Speedforce exists everywhere and everyWHEN, you can use it to enter the time stream.

Sage(seeing his son speed up): What are you doing?

Kid Flash(as the treadmill starts letting off sparks): I’m going back and getting the last cup of hot chocolate before Fate does!

Everyone(frightened and trying to stop him): NO, DON’T!!!

Oscar disappears as a portal opens up before him and he runs into it and it closes behind him in a bright flash of light.

Kid Flash(zipping into the room after traveling back to yesterday and back with a cup of hot chocolate in his hands): I GOT…

Kid Flash(seeing everyone wearing different costumes): It?…

The Flash(wearing the Future’s End costume, fully blue with sky blue lightning): We were trying to tell you!

Aquaman(shirtless and with a hook in place of his left hand): Everytime you go back in time and change something…

Blue Lantern/Ruby(wearing blue instead of green with a different emblem): It creates what we call a “Time Boom”!

White Lantern/Ren(wearing a fully white costume): Like a sonic boom, but it can change a lot of unrelated events throughout time.

Superman/Sage(wearing the classic Superman costume, looking at his hands in shock): This is odd…

Yang(dressed like a reporter, admiring her husband’s physique): Speak for yourself…

Green Arrow(wearing the Arrow season 4 costume, and feeling his lower back): My tail’s gone…

Kid Flash(eyes wide): I can fix this!

The Flash(holding his hand up): Let me…

Jaune suddenly races out of the room with a huge burst of blue lightning, causing a bright light to flash as he breaks the time barrier.

The Flash(racing back into the room in his proper costume): There!

The Flash(as everyone looks like they originally did): I countered Oscar’s time boom with my own…

Kid Flash(wearing a yellow and red costume with a simple lightning bolt without a circle/ring around it, Classic Wally West Kid Flash): Umm…

The Flash(waving off his nephew’s concern): Relax, that’s just cosmetic, we can fix it.
