20230915 - 7:05am [😵‍💫]
slack reminders are saving my life lately as i'm helping my manager onboard 3 new engineers AND starting a side project, which is completely different from the one i'm currently coordinating AND different from anything that i've ever done before — except once at a hackathon when i actually happened to be sick and totally out of it for most of the time 🙃 i feel all over the place and i'm worried it shows, so i just remind myself that "done is better than perfect" and i am always learning from my experiences! ☺️
to keep up with my studies even after a super tiring work day, i do a sort of reverse pomodoro where i set a stopwatch and see how long i can go before i get distracted, then i go ahead and take my break for 2-3 minutes. a competition against myself is always fun. yesterday's record was 20 minutes which included planning my workload and completing some readings (i would go longer but i'm also trying not to give myself too much eye strain that i become basically legally blind).
how do i time my breaks, you ask? excellent question! my go-to method is listening to a favorite song. by the time it's over, i feel energized to study again 🎶

music production advice!!
with these simple tips, you can go from a novice to a professional almost instantly! just do any of this:
improve literally any song by adding a sax solo
make your drums faster. no like, faster
HARMONIZE MORE, THEN MORE, THEN MORE, then stop
add a second sax solo (hot)
just fuckingn like, take a knife and really fuck up your CD then record the playback of that and sample it
go into the woods at night alone with a tape recorder. sit down and press record. do not open your eyes. you'll know when the right time to stop is. the forest will tell you.
add a THIRD FUCKING SAX SOLO
