"hey you wanna come to an iron maiden concert with me this saturday?" y/n casually asked, fixing her makeup in the blurry mirror fixated atop of eddies dresser.

her question prompted eddie to jolt up from his position on the bed.

"you're joking."

"why would i be?" y/n turned her body to face the confused man on the bed.

"you. at an iron maiden concert. seriously?" his mouth was slightly agape. this reaction, though some may find insulting, erupted a laugh from y/n.

"yes, eddie," she spoke through giggles. "what's so hard to believe about that?" questions that obvious shouldn't be asked. if you were to take one look at this girl, the idea of her listening to iron maiden wouldn't even appear in your head.

her hair almost always being kept together by a white scrunchie, always in skirts or dresses, makeup always done; there's no way she'd be into Iron maiden.

"my dad got me tickets for my birthday & none of my friends would go with me. so, im asking you...unless you don't want to go?"

"what the fuck? of course i want to go!" eddie practically jumped off the bed & in front of y/n, who had a huge grin plastered on her face.

"good."

"so you ever gonna talk to her?" dustin speaks suddenly, bringing eddie out of his thoughts.

"who?"

"y/n." eddie snorted at the mention of her name. sure, he saw her walking to class in the hallways & they mightve even shared a few quick glances. but he would never think of talking to her.

"have you lost your mind, dustin?" dustin shook his head.

"uh nope. pretty sure my mind is still in my head. i think you should check if yours is because she's clearly into you, man!"

eddie shook his head, "no way."

"yes way! look, her & her friends sit right next to me in my latin class & i hear them talking. all. the. time. i overheard her saying how she'd want to go on a date with you & she was even going to ask lucas to put in a good word for her. it sounds like she really likes you, dude."

eddie was at a loss for words. the first thought in his head was 'why should i go off of what he's telling me?' but there was a voice in his head yelling at him to not second guess it. this is his year after all (👀).

after a short silence, eddie finally spoke up.

"fuck it. what have i got to lose?"

"you're gonna ask her out??" eddie nodded his head reluctantly.

"you got this!"

y/n never thought she'd see eddie munson outside of school. let alone on a poster loosely hanging in the window of the diner she worked at.

strings of customers came flooding in as it was the busiest day of the week, sunday.

people come in on sundays to either cram in studying for the school week ahead or for coffees to remedy their hangover gifted from the party the night prior.

y/n was so caught up in tending to the customers that she didn't notice the familiar dark haired man walk in.

"how may i help you?" she spoke, still writing down an order from the customer in front of her at the island.

"y/n?" eddie questioned, prompting the girls attention from the notepad to him.

"eddie?"

"..you guys know each other?" gareth asked, making his & the rest of the bands presence known to y/n.

"yeah, we have class together." eddie responded. "i didn't know you worked here?"

"yeah & i didn't know you came here." y/n added, swiftly moving to make a customer's coffee.

"well we just stopped by for some fuel before our gig." eddie answered.

"yeah i saw the poster on my way in. uh what would you all like?" they all answered, giving her their orders. y/n responding with writing them down.

"and you? eddie?"

"i would like...you to come see us tonight. at the hideout. 8 pm." y/n sighed, taking the paper with their orders out & placing it where the chefs can see it.

"i work. obviously."

"come after. it normally runs pretty late." jeff speaks up quickly. y/n looks at jeff briefly before looking back at eddie.

"...do i have to pay?"

"no." they all said in unison.

y/n heaved another sigh.

"...if im not too exhausted. maybe ill make an appearance. " she says through a smile. a smile shared by both her & eddie.

"deal?" she says.

"deal." he responds.

I'm still a sucker for fedvi all these years later. What's your AU about? It looks interesting

It's kinda funny to come across other people who liked fedvi bc it was already such a niche thing even at its height lol.

But also thank you for letting me open pandoras box on my silly au. The biggest departure from the source material is probably just that it was only Giovanni who was executed, and the focus for the "story" is how his death has rippling effects across the family, and how they learn to live beyond his death.

This is gonna be so fucking long so im sorry in advance. I'm supposed to be doing an exam right now lol

Maria who is grieving, and also having to take care of her 4 children on her own now, learning to lean on other people for help with this. I also had this idea for a convo between her, and vieri (after he killed his father) where she's trying to make sense of Giovanni's death, and vieri, while not on any good terms with the family, doesnt think Giovanni should have been killed in the way he was cus it just caused problems all across the board. I also wanted to let her old personality creep back in, cus she was so fun before the execution in the game. I'm also debating if I want an element of being worried about her kids getting so involved with the assassin stuff or not. I'm leaning towards not but idk.

Federico, who I feel like to some degree didn't want to feel a lot of responsibility as an oldest sibling, suddenly has to take up the mantle, his siblings are looking to him for some stability since he seemed so unbothered about things in the past (at least on the surface). Him and Ezio start to butt heads more, especially over rescuing vieri during a mission to kill francesco, only to find him already dead. Federico is trying to hold every string in the family together so they dont fall apart. His goal is to kinda re-find that relaxed feeling he had before. Still with responsibility, but with a balance of relaxation, and, again, leaning on other people to help.

Ezio was the one who did see his father killed first-hand. He becomes a lot more aggressive, and throws himself pretty immediately into the assassin stuff. I see his personality pretty similar to the game (AC2), where he's looking for revenge for his father, and it's taking a toll on his family relationships. He kinda grows the way he does in the games, but a little faster, where he learns the most important thing is appreciating who is here now.

Caludia i wanna develop more, but her thing is based on her situation in AC brotherhood, where she wants to be an assassin too. Federico, and Mario are on board, but Ezio is adamant about her not doing stuff like that. He's still viewing her as the sad little sister who had her heart broken, and doesn't want to see her hurt, but doesnt understand that she is as capable as any of them. She still needs training but she has all the potential the ezio or federico had at her age. She wants to establish herself more and help her family.

Petruccio is still somewhat young, and has a hard time trying to process all the sudden major life changes. His chronic illness keeps him doing any intense physical training, but he's not super interested in that aspect anyway. He's usually hanging out with his mother, but then he starts to observe Leonardo more and more, and leo starts mentoring him on various things like deciphering things and engineering. It works a lot better with managing his illness, and the topics are more engaging to him.

vieri i decided to do a kinda overhaul on his character (the original character is fun to hate and entertaining but I wanted to go a different direction with his character. also even back in the day, tangent, but I hated the brotherhood flashback with him where they made him basically a rapist in order to make ezios stalking seem less creepy than it was. I HATED the writing of that jesus christ.) He's still fairly arrogant when around his father, and still spends his dads money loosely. but he starts to question his fathers ideas for their family within the templars, and he gets retaliation from his father every time. after giovannis death, he has a deep moment of my father was wrong fer helping set it up that way. giovanni needed to die, but doing it so publicly made a lot of issues for the Pazzi house afterwards. So a fight starts and he kills francesco, and after is found by federico and ezio because of Viola, who were coming to kill francesco themselves. He's taken back and treated at the Villa Auditore, much to Ezio's chagrin. Vieri is kinda stuck in his enemies home and so he's irritable, and vulnerable, but it's an opportunity for better understanding between the two families. vieri is more contemplative now that his father isnt present to influence him. Eventually he decides to become an assassin. He has some chronic pain issues from his injuries.

Viola, i only have a bit at the moment, but she's always been kinda disobedient of her father. Their mother is not in the picture. She doesnt like her father, and butts heads with vieri because of that, but vieri and viola still love each other deep down. Vieri looked down on her for not trying to further the Pazzi house. She saved vieris life after he killed their father, and flagged down federico and ezio to take them back to the villa. beyond that ill have to think of stuff.

cristina i havent posted much but I have this whole thing. Her and ezio had a brief tryst, but i view her as a lesbian, and I think she just realized the sex and romance weren't doing anything for her. She still loves Ezio, just as a very close friend. She wanted to escape her fate of being married off, and so she asks ezio to help her become basically nobody, to pursue the life she wants. In an assassin trip to Venice, cristina comes along and meets Rosa and is almost immediately smitten.

Rosa I made into an intensely butch bisexual lol. She becomes friends with Ezio, and hooks up with him occasionally. He introduces her to cristina, and their energies match up really well and they become an item pretty quickly. I want to develop this relationship more bc this was something i was shipping while i was shipping fedvi but no one else really had any connection to it so i hardly posted it lol.

some last random notes:

-Ezio is still sleeping around, just also with men now. He's hooked up with cristina, leonardo, caterina, rosa, antonio, etc etc

-Rosa and federico become good friends and its a lot of teasing ezio

-Rosa flirts with Maria a lot, and it makes ezio panicky

-i definitely am going to revisit fedvi lol

-uhhh paola and maria occasionally sleep together, arguably in a relationship

Hawkins will be great to help mellow out your more hyper behaviors, he’s extremely calm and allows the cards to decide his fate. He might not be spontaneous, but he can be unpredictable based off what the cards decide!

My dad and I were talking in the truck on our way home and an interesting question came up. Previously we were talking about how paranoid we both are and what necessities we would put in our hypothetical bunker. I said my bunker would be underground and have basic things to survive (think of the game 60 seconds). He said his would be above ground and more of a fortress with an empty moat surrounding the base of the building. At the bottom there would be spikes and shit to kill the zombies. (The senario was zombie apocalypse. But like walking dead zombies not world war z zombies). After that I asked if he ever thought we would turn into a dystopian world like the hunger games. He said no. But he did say, “theres gonna be a revolution in this country. (America) but not like between races or anything. I think its gonna be between classes. Like the rich vs the poor.” I asked when he thought it would happen. Like in the next five years or in the next twenty. We both agreed twenty. I then asked “what side would we fight for”. And he said “definitely the poor. We aren’t broke but compared to rich folk we’re poor.” Basically we came to the conclusion that my father and I would fight for the poor and since we had more cash being in the lower middle class than the actual poor we would buy the supplies. Like amo and weapons and food. But before we all went to fight there would be small talk about a revolution and the poor would kill off smaller rich people who didn’t have much of a reputation. Then they would kill a high up government official and all hell would break loose. Nobody would know if its a group or terrorists or something else. So after this convo I want to write a whole ass novel staring an oc gay couple or possibly destiel but anyways after all of that what I want to ask you is this.

This is the qUaLitY content y’all get from this blog. Also see me spamming friend about this AU. It’s junior-centered, with a dash of wangxian. This is basically a more in-depth version of what I gave my friend lol

After getting kicked out of SHIELD for questionable experiments involving Kree blood, Wei Wuxian was spying on Hydra (lead by Wen Ruohan) by infiltrating them as a scientist. However, being Wei Wuxian, he neglected to tell anyone since he got kicked out, so everyone thought he betrayed them.

So he’s at Hydra, befriending Wen Qing & Ning, and realizes that they’re good people.

But he got caught giving info to Director LXC, so Wei Wuxian makes his grand escape. He may have accidentally knocked over a terrigenesis crystal while trying to escape the Nightless City.

The terrigenesis crystal may have turned a little boy into an Inhuman (the first time anyone went through terrigenesis) and that little boy (Wen Yuan) may have accidentally burnt down the entire Nightless City.

At least, that’s how WWX explains it to Lan Wangji when he gives LWJ a child to take care of.

So, with Wen Yuan in SHIELD custody, Lan Wangji adopts him & renames him Lan Sizhui. He’s still a child (I don’t know why I keep referring to him as a little boy?? He’s like 12-ish??).

So Wei Wuxian goes off to re-join the remnants of HYDRA because they let him experiment in peace & he gets to keep an eye on them for SHIELD (even though he’s an ex-agent).

But before that, he vouches for WQ & WN to join SHIELD. And though many people there are suspicious, they do have a vacant spot for a doctor now that Dr. Wei is gone & WQ is quite good. They bring WN along too.

Meanwhile: Lan Jingyi is getting abused my his mother & his dad is working across the country so life is quite sucky for him.

Thankfully, his family has connections to one Lan Xichen (who learns about the abuse eventually) and Jingyi gets into SHIELD Academy. What he doesn’t know is that he comes from a line of people with Inhumans genes.

Which may or may not how been why Xichen was visiting.

Anyways, Sizhui & Jingyi meet at SHIELD Academy (both around 13-14?) and Lan Qiren is about to get more headaches.

Eventually, he (now 16) gets told why he was accepted on the first place & asked if he’d like to go through terrigenesis. He’s like “ok” and boom vocal mind control.

That’s actually inaccurate; he has the power to manipulate people with his voice. He has to learn how to control it though.

Wei Wuxian rejoins SHIELD! Lan Sizhui meets the person who saved him all those years ago. yay.

Little did they know, Wei Wuxian was expieriemnting with terrigenesis while he was gone but shhhhhhh-

Now onto Jin Ling’s backstory, cause his is a doozy.

Jiang Yanli got Inhuman genes from her mother. So did jc, but his powers & stuff come into play later. Wwx is their adopted bro, but due to circumstances that will be explained later, Wwx & jc are estranged.

Jyl and jzx raise jl for most of his younger childhood (until he’s about 7-8) when evil HYDRA people come in & kill jzx and kidnap jyl for Inhuman experimentation. Note, she has the genes but isn’t an Inhuman (yet).

Ling is very sad and Jiang Cheng swoops in to take him in. Jc actually worked at as a SHEILD agent back from before lxc was Director (coughxichengcough) but left when his sister was kidnapped so he could try to track her down & save her. Instead he gets his nephew.

Jc also takes over his parents’ buisness to get a source of income.

And jc goes through the woes of being a parent up until he also gets kidnapped by HYDRA. Jl also gets nabbed, but HYDRA separates them

Wwx may have been expierimenting but he tries to do it without hurting any of them, and he validates it because he prevented many people from getting cut open by explaining to the HYDRA heads that they’re most useful alive. It somehow works.

In fact, wwx is assigned to jl. The HYDRA people know wwx’s relation to jc & jyl, so they don’t tell wwx that they kidnapped jc & jyl or that they’re literally in the same facility.

Since wwx was assigned to jl, he basically helps him undergo terrigenesis and tries to determine his power.

Wwx also doesn’t know that jl is kinda his nephew. But he pities him, so he maybe helps jl escape, but in a way so that no one realizes it because he still has his cover to maintain.

(also, I forgot to mention: jyl’s kidnapping caused jc & wwx to become estranged).

So wwx may have had a very loud conversation near jl’s cell about some of the exits and also teaches jl the basics on his Inhuman ability. maybe the device he uses to control jl’s powers happened to malfunction in the middle of the night.

Ling, not knowing that wwx is helping him, uses his power (energy manipulation) to break out and makes a run for it.

He manages to escape (wwx had a very detailed convo about the building’s layout) and gets the hell out of there.

Jl’s smart enough to realize that since HYDRA knows where he lives, that he probably shouldn’t go back home.

He really wants to get his uncle back (and maybe his mom, but he’s not sure she’s still alive) but has like no idea how to use his power to do anything except bomb stuff. & that only works like half the time.

Jin Ling is about to kill a bitch but then he remembers that his uncle gave him an address to go to if anything ever happened (remember, jc is an ex-SHIELD agent so bad things happen quite a lot).

Meanwhile, despite his carefulness, wwx got caught and HYDRA is deciding whether or not he will die. Wwx, being the genius he is, takes all his stuff and gets the fuck outta there.

He decides to go visit his kinda-boyfriend (that he may or may not have been ignoring for like 13 years), lwj back at SHIELD. He also wants to see how the Wen siblings are doing.

So WWX goes back to SHIELD, only about an hour before Ling arrives. In jl’s defense, he had no idea that the entrance to a secret government organization was a quaint little music shop.

He just kinda... walks in, and everyone is freaking bc they have been breached but sees him and thinks “huh he kinda looks like jc” and then lxc thinks “oh no what happened this time”

Lxc introduces himself and jl (being the second best matchmaker here, second to only lxc) accidentally reveals that jc talked about him before.

Lxc is pleasantly surprised (gay) and asks jl to come with him into his office so that they can... chat.

On their way, they pass by the science lab. Wei Wuxian, who just came back to base, is happily walking along with Lan Sizhui, when all hell breaks loose.

Remember when I said that wwx was quite secretive about helping? And that jl is still upset bc he never got his uncle back and he can’t lose another family member, not to them?

So obviously jl does what anyone would if you saw the guy who forced you to undergo a life-changing event and was involved in the organization that kidnapped two of his family members and killed his dad: he attaccs.

If you also remember, I mentioned that jl has no fucking clue what he’s doing. All he knows is energy and boom boom.

And the mini-explosions only work in close range, from what he’s seen. So in his anger, he unlocks a new skill: energy shots.

Wei Wuxian took cover like the second he realized who was attempting to kill him and screaming at the others not to kill his assailant no matter how annoying he was.

Lan Wangji sadly wasn’t at base, but Sizhui was, and he can certainly hold his own against Ling, especially since Sizhui has had more time to train with his power.

Luckily, Jingyi swoops in & uses his voice to force jl to stop. They handcuff him and lxc drags him away into his office.

It’s safe to say that the science lab corridor is fried.

That’s basically how jl got introduced to SHIELD (he eventually joins and learns the truth about wwx, which makes all their past interactions quite awkward).

Now we have Zizhen, who comes into the story after the two Lans have become agents but before the whole Jin Ling fiasco occurs.

Sizhui & Jingyi were sent to see if Agent Ouyang Xingyun (@yoitsamy’s oc older sis of oyzz)‘a family knew where she was because she was on a undercover mission & didn’t check in with her contact last week. + she didn’t contact SHIELD so Director LXC was worried.

They look through the window and everything is a mess, so they kick down the door and try to find anyone. The whole place is torn apart, like people were fighting there.

In the upstairs bedroom, they find Ouyang Zizhen & four of his younger siblings huddled together in a corner, protected by a forcefield-like shield. Once they realize the Lans aren’t a threat, the go back to SHIELD HQ and put in a room there until they can figure out wtf was going on.

Apparently, Zizhen unlocked his powers w/o terrigenesis when they got attacked by someone who was looking for his sister and used it to protect his siblings. They hadn’t seen their big sister in weeks.

So the Lans have a new case to solve, SHIELD has two new Inhumans with off circumstances, and Lan Wangji is one Xichen away from killing Jin Ling.

BAD: i’m disappointed with the clothes. at the end of the first movie, the croods excluding guy got huge wardrobe changes to highlight they were not the same people they were in the beginning. but sadly the sequel seems to have??? cut that out entirely as the family are in their caveman clothes again.

GOOD: i like how the faces are more...... refined? the eyes look more natural and have neater lines. and i also like that the face shapes have been tweaked a little too. those that needed sharper features (eep’s face in the first movie was literally a circle) got them, and those that needed smoother and more rounded features (guy used to have the Anime Triangle Jaw) got them too.

BAD: this also comes with a negative though. as someone already pointed out, although their faces look neater, they also look a little too neat. all of guy’s blemishes are gone. actually, everyones blemishes are gone.

BAD: also, their hair! in the first movie, everybody’s hair is messy. it’s the wilderness! they don’t have combs. but in the trailer, guy’s hair looks like it was literally put into a straightener. and this is before he went through the betterman transformation. a side by side of what they did to guy (they butchered my boy!!) is in the post i already linked. it’s nuts

GOOD: another thing about the character designs i DID like was ugga. most of the girls/women’s faces in the first movie were round, soft, and wide eyed. ugga’s face in the trailer now has more variation to it. she has high, sharp cheekbones, her eyes are narrower, chin more pointed. the women do not just have “soft” facial features anymore. i like that theres more variety between them.

GOOD: i love the farm and domesticated animals. the wildlife has always always been one of my favorite things about the world of the croods and they deliver on it once again (black and white furry elephants!!!)

BAD: there’s a downside to this part too tho and i will direct all of that towards douglas. WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO HIM?!?!? he looks completely different in a bad way. he looks simple. i look at douglas in the trailer and see an easy-to-make toy. the colors are simple and no longer ombré, his teeth are more rounded and claws nonexistent. he doesn’t look anything like a tiny crocodile creature anymore, and more like a toy store plushie come to life. look at him in the trailer and then look at him in a pic from the first movie and then look me in my eyes and tell me they didn’t ruin my boy.

now about the actual plot:

BAD: why are the croods “searching for a perfect place to call home”? why is guy so eager to stay at the farm?? yes, guy is an inventor so new technology would interest him, but he was way more focused and concerned abt making it to Tomorrow. at the end of the first movie, they all agreed to become nomads and stay on the move, following the sun. a theme they explored was that home was not a place/“a cave”, and is actually just about being with the people you love. so why would they want to..... settle all of a sudden? eep ofc still wants to get out and grug doesn’t like strange things, but the others are like in love with the place?? i have to say with all these things so far it’s almost like they’re trying to scrap the end of the first movie entirely and just base the sequel off the beginning to middle sections. which is kinda disheartening since the end was so beautiful and made me tear up.

GOOD: i like that there’s another family, especially a mom, dad, and a daughter. i LOVE the fact that eep now has a friend her age and it looks like they develop a great relationship!! i desperately hope the same happens with ugga and the mom, and maybe grug and the other dad can bond too. all 3 of them, while having extremely different lifestyles, have very similar roles, and could confide in and relate to one another.

BAD: again, my biggest concern is the backtrack. in the trailer, grug is wary and upset with his family for growing attached to strangers. just like he was in the first movie with guy. “i don’t know if cave people belong in a modern world” they’re not cave people anymore. they’ve already developed past that in the first movie. “this place is changing everyone” grug is still afraid of change?!?? he got over this in the first movie too! so not only have they backtracked with the clothes, but also with the character arcs. this is a little worrying. how loosely connected is this sequel??

GOOD: nonetheless, i do think the croods encountering farmers is interesting. so far, they’ve only known that you can either be a caveman or a nomad. being neither is an entirely new concept to them, and it will be interesting to see how they deal with this third lifestyle.

BAD: WHAT HAPPENED TO RIDING THE SUN?!? i’m sorry, i’m just struggling to wrap my head around why the croods would be so ready to settle down. they had a plan. they were gonna follow the sun until they “caught it” and then ride it to Tomorrow. so what happened? especially with guy?!?!? that was literally his life’s most important goal. sooo.....????????

GOOD: while i was busting a lung, one of my friends suggested that the plot this time could be about “remembering one’s roots”. like how the theme for the first movie was that change and moving forward is good, so the sequel could now be about how, although progress is good, it’s also important to remember where you come from. i think this could be an interesting storyline if they do it right.

extra thoughts:

BAD: where are the other pets? the owl bear? the liyotes?? the land whale??? they didn’t go extinct bc the croods rode off into the sunrise with them. so Where Are They?????? did they get erased to?

GOOD: i definitely like the revamped betterman designs. apparently they looked completely different before and i very much prefer their looks now. i’m tired of the “blond, conventionally attractive character(s) think they’re better than others” trope. the bettermans look more like regular people and take pride in the technology they’ve created. i especially like how racially ambiguous they are, as i know this was one of the points the first movie got praised on too. (i do think goth!dawn wouldve been a cool contrast to eep’s bubbliness tho)

NEUTRAL: okay so this is based on both the trailer and fan theories. ive seen a few people wonder if the bettermans are actually guy’s long lost family since they look a lot like him, especially with their affinity for technology. while i don’t think this is a bad theory, i don’t know if i’d want it? idk it’s hard for me to explain but it feels like we’ve already covered guy and his family’s past. can you even imagine the convo lol. guy: “omg you guys are alive!!? i thought you’d been gruesomely drowned to death by tar!!!” / them: “oh no we just hopped right out of that. so anyways” like?!?!??? idk it would just feel...... idk. i think it’s unnecessary. (the theory that dawn is their adopted daughter and is actually guy’s last remaining relative/sister is interesting tho)

conclusion:

good total -> 8 points

bad total -> also 8 points

final thoughts -> so yeah. all in all i’m excited for this!! i love the croods and the themes and subtle little touches they had in the first movie, and am interested to see what they do in the second. unfortunately, it looks like a few things got retconned which is very concerning. i both like and dislike the new art/designs, and am very interested in the dynamic between the bettermans and the croods.

and reminder: i’m taking even my own first impression with a grain of salt (a very, very tiny one) since we’ve seen literally only one trailer so far. these are just my thoughts based on what we have. they might change as more things get released, or they might stay solid. who knows! anything goes until the movie actually comes out.

Episode Aranea Timeline In-Game + Loqi Survives Proof

Not going to lie, I’m writing this just to prove that Loqi Tummelt survives in the game lol, but if you want to read this just so you know when Episode Aranea takes place and how it was always show in-game before any of the multiple updates and long before any DLC, hence how the developers always knew the story and perhaps also always intended to include it, you go ahead!

That said, I’m going to add a keep reading here:

Needless to say, you need to either have read the Dawn of the Future novel, or at least a summary of someone who has. Personally, I’m basing myself on this post. 

Talking with @asoeiki, we were trying to make sense when Episode Aranea happens. At first, nothing seemed to make sense and I was scared the developers had fucked up on the timeline and it didn’t fit with the canon, but then, while brainstorming, I came up with the answer that later on seems to be 100% correct. 

As summary: Episode Aranea happens after the Altissia events, but before the main game’s chapter 12, Tenebrae.

Keep reading if you want further proof/explanation.

The story didn’t finish making sense time-wise because of two characters: Biggs and Wedge. They couldn’t be with Aranea and Noctis at the same time, so we all assumed it had to happen after Biggs and Wedge take us to Gralea. Perhaps because the novel was released so long after the game, and because they never stablish an exact date, so we all just assumed things happened after the chocobros infiltrated Zegnautus. No one mentions anything from Aranea’s episode’s events so it had to happen after the main story.

Wrong. We’ve been looking at it the wrong way. It all happens not only before the bros enter Gralea, but long before we reach Tenebrae.

Here’s what we know:

Altissia happens. We go straight to Nif territory, off to Cartanica, off to Tenebrae. We have to stop here to make an important note: none of this happens in a day or two.

We know the guys took days to recover from Altissia, and even if it’s just a few couple days, it’s still days. The map and whole game are, say, “reduced” to a more playable size that is enough for us to understand, but the real sizes are way bigger (you can’t travel across half the world in a couple hours, that’s only in-game time for us players). So, thinking about it real-sized, we’ve got to understand they’re traveling sea and a continent.

That said, we must count the days they spent to recover from Altissia, to the days/hours on the ocean, to the days on the train, the day(s) at Cartanica. Even if it’s just a week, it’s still a couple days, not just one or two. 

Acknowledging the time that passed before reaching Tenebrae is important to clear out Episode Aranea has time to happen between Altissia and Tenebrae: the summary says Aranea has spent “35 hours” oh duty at a flooded Altissia. 35 hours between the chocobros’ recovery or journey through Nif territory and before Tenebrae makes sense just fine. Biggs and Wedge are with her.

They fly to Gralea, where they find Diamond Weapon wrecking the city and Ardyn being an ass, but long story short, Aranea fights her way to the roof while Biggs and Wedge help children evacuate.

It’s mentioned here that Emperor Iedolas is still alive at this point, saying his last words.

Aranea fights Ardyn. Keep it in mind for later.

She sees Diamond Weapon being put in an aircraft, so she asks Ardyn what he’s doing, and he says that he plans to let it loose at Tenebrae. Biggs and Wedge radio her to tell her they put the refugees on a train to Tenebrae. Keep that in mind.

Here’s when she meets Loqi.

Loqi opens the cockpit of his MA-X Cuirass to show her his cargo: the Emperor asked from him to transport an 8-year-old girl to safety, and she’s with him. 

Now, the whole bit from the summary: 

“ -Loqi entrusts the child to her and quietly says thank you as a swarm of daemons approach. As Aranea heads for the train and Tenebrae, she watches him fight in his Magitek armor, and hears him announce “Glory to the Niflheim Empire!” Aranea tells her Airborne Unit that their final mission is to protect Tenebrae. “

SO, this bit sounds super spooky. If literally anyone reads this, it’s pretty clear that this is stating that he dies. Giving away the girl that was personally trusted to him so someone else can do his job feels like a way of saying he can’t do it anymore. Quietly saying thanks feels like he knows he’s going to die. A swarm of daemons approaching, Aranea turning back to see him (a common trope when “it’s a last time”/a character dies), him heading headfirst into the fight alone and yelling GLORY TO THE EMPIREEEEEEEEE...geez, well fuck, that boy is going to die!

Right?

WRONG.

FUCK YOU.

WE’RE ALL WRONG, WE ALL INTERPRETED THAT THE WRONG WAY. BOY AIN’T DEAD. HE’S JUST IN DANGER, and not only does he not die but he COMES BACK ALIVE JUST FINE! MECH INCLUDED!!!!!!!!!

We’ll get there, lmao, promise.

Proving that Episode Aranea happens before the chocobros arrive to Tenebrae is essential to understand Loqi’s fate, and how it is that he survives.

Now, let’s take all that we learned in this post, and watch the whole of chapter 12 make sense (I replayed the intro just for this post, but you can go check by yourselves):

When the bros arrive to Tenebrae, it’s already on fire. 

Aranea says hello. Noctis asks “Guess we’ve got you to thank for this mess?” and we follow her, etc.

Her answer: “Thank the daemons”.

Thank the daemons, Tenebrae on fire; clicks on you? Ardyn transporting Diamond Weapon and saying he’s going to release it on Tenebrae to destroy it?

“Thank the daemons” = Aranea is talking about Diamond Weapon.

If the bros arrived and Tenebrae is already on fire, Diamond Weapon was already there. If Diamond Weapon was already there, then the whole mess back at Gralea, with Aranea fighting Ardyn and the whole chaos of the city and the evacuation, it all had to happen before Diamond Weapon’s attack on Tenebrae, and hence, before the bros’ arrival.

This pretty much completely confirms Episode Aranea takes place before the main game’s chapter 12. 

And no, Aranea’s “Thank the daemons” is NOT a coincidence that just happens to fit in. There is WAY enough proof all over Tenebrae that the developers always knew all about Episode Aranea and always intended to include it.

Heck, they put clues of the aftermath everywhere. They just didn’t make sense because we didn’t have the info, but now that we do, allow me to give you more proof on how the developers made chapter 12 thinking on the aftermath of Episode Aranea and they didn’t just write Episode Aranea after the release of the game and searched for a way to make it fit in:

1. Aranea’s “thank the daemons” clears out a lot.

2. When you talk to Biggs and Wedge, they know a lot about Gralea’s current state. May not confirm anything, but it shows they were there just a few days ago/the day before.

3. There is an optional conversation that basically CONFIRMS Episode Aranea was written during the game’s production and not afterwards. I tried to look for an english gameplay to show you as a proof but all gameplays I found on youtube skipped the optional convo and went straight to talk with Maria, but you can go check by yourselves. Didn’t record mine because I didn’t know it would happen and I’ve got it in JPN with spanish subtitles & didn’t want to repeat the whole thing just to switch the language lol.

Basically, after Biggs and Wedge tell you they’ll wait at the train, and before you talk to Maria, you can try to talk with Aranea. She lets out a sigh and says something that more or less translates to “Phew, the Chancellor sure put up quite a show”.

HMM???? You see my point? What does she mean with that, if not everything from her Episode? The climax is basically when she finds out Ardyn is behind it all and he lets loose Diamond Weapon, he announces to the whole city “the empire ends today”, etc. THAT’S putting up “quite a show”. She’s talking about that, why else would she make the slightest mention of Ardyn?

4. Sol, the granddaughter of Emperor Iedolas. We meet her in-game. She was always there.

The picture on the right is a concept art of Sol from the novel. The picture on the left is the little girl we meet after we talk to Maria. It’s the girl that asks Noctis if he was excited for the wedding and how Luna was excited for it. 

First of all, it always seemed sort of odd that they made up a whole model of a child just to have her in a small cutscene. Her approaching always felt important, but it turned out to never be. Until now.

First off, she’s at Tenebrae at the same time that Aranea is, clue 1 to her being Sol.

Clue 2, she speaks about how Lunafreya “looked so happy when the dress arrived”. 

“Oh! But moon raccoon, if she’s the granddaughter of the emperor, how can she know Luna? Why does she speak like she lived at Tenebrae?”

WELL, MY DEAR READER. There’s an important thing to remember!

See how no one in the world knows about Sol? Just Iedolas?

If no one knew about Sol, and it says so in the summary post, it’s because Sol is a secret heir of the throne. Her dad never said anything about her, the imperials think he died without ever having a kid. But how do you keep a child hidden from the entire empire and world for eight years? 

Easy. You send her away to grow up somewhere else, with someone else, not saying who she is.

If Sol grew up in the imperial palace, people would know about her, but no one does, so it’s clear she didn’t grow up in Gralea. So where could the prince have hidden her?

Well. Accordo is more or less independent. They’re enemies with Lucis. Can’t keep her in Niflheim. What’s the only other place in the world?

Tenebrae.

Tenebrae, more specifically, the palace, which is taken by the imperials, but not flooded by them. Controlled by Niflheim, but not so strictly as Niflheim’s inside itself. A perfect spot to hide an heir; imperial territory, but ironically also relatively safe from the empire itself.

That could explain how the child knows Lunafreya.

“Oh but then what was she doing at Gralea? If she was at Tenebrae, why was she at Gralea when shit went down?”

WELL, THERE’S A THING CALLED VISITING GRANDPA EVERY NOW AND THEN AND NOT KNOWING THE DAY YOU VISIT IS THE DAY SHIT GOES DOWN, YOU KNOW.

And it also makes sense because as Episode Aranea goes, Iedolas is dying. Wouldn’t you think he wanted to see his granddaughter a last time? Of course he would ask if they could bring Sol just so he can see her a last time. His son died, his wife died, he’s dying, his empire is falling...as evil as he is, he’s human, and he has a granddaughter. Of course he wanted to see her. Or see him as evil; still would have wanted to see her. As he dies, he claims “Sol....heim will raise again”. He must have told Sol to never forget she is the heir and to claim the throne when time comes, that sort of things.

Another thing that makes sense to Episode Aranea happening before the game’s chapter 12 is the fact that in Episode Aranea the Emperor is still alive. Aranea mentions to “see him dead from the Scourge at the throne”. She saw him, not his clothes like we see in chapter 13. If he was still a corpse, he had yet not transformed into a daemon.

So it’s possible that Iedolas turned into a daemon way, way before the chocobros arrive to Zegnautus, and he’s been wandering about, hence why we never see him transform & only see the clothes, whereas Aranea sees him as a corpse.

((”but Ravus transformed within minutes”, yes but that’s because it’s Ardyn’s doing, Ardyn who controls the Scourge and possibly how fast or slow it advances, plus, Ravus is only halfway turned, where Iedolas was a full daemon by then))

So basically Episode Aranea always happened and the developers put all of it to the naked eye on chapter 12, not even hiding anything or being subtle about it. We just didn’t know what we were seeing because we lacked the info.

Tenebrae on fire, the Nif ships, the girl, Aranea, nothing was there by mere coincidence, and they didn’t write the novel to fit what is in the game. Of course it didn’t. They always knew and always intended for it to be this way.

Another note to support the proof is that when we arrive to Gralea in chapter 13, it’s already deserted. Evacuation already happened. And as a note, the people on Tenebrae lamenting and crying are not the refugees Aranea saves, those are the people of the train Noct and co were on. The refugees Aranea saves arrived way earlier, and have no reasons to be around, not necessarily.

Now, you’re wondering, where the fuck is anywhere here proof that Loqi survived? Why did you make me read this entire bible and not say anything about Loqi more than what we already knew?

Well.

Remember...why Tenebrae was always such a famous and brain-breaking place for us Loqi fans?

Yep.

Because his mech is there.

Here’s a comparative just to clear out that it is his mech and not a random one:

The red...”shoulder” thing on the right arm, the letters SA on the right arm, the emblem on the right leg, same colors, same “hands”. It’s Loqi’s mech, not a single doubt.

Now, here’s the only question that you need to see how Loqi survived to Episode Aranea:

If he died at Gralea, and Gralea happened before Tenebrae...what is his mech doing at Tenebrae?

I think it’s pretty clear now, but I shall go a bit deeper into it if you need to be more convinced lol

Okay, so the last we see of Loqi is that spooky scene where he seems to say bye forever before throwing himself headfirst into a hoard of daemons, so it’s very easy to assume he died. 

But isn’t it the exact same situation than the game’s ending itself? The last we see of Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto is them turning around to face a hoard of daemons to hold them back while Noctis does his stuff, almost a parallel to Loqi turning around and yelling for Niflheim’s glory as he holds the daemons back for Aranea to escape with Sol. 

For a very long time, a lot of people assumed the bros had died, and with the Royal expansion it was cleared out that they survived. The scene is super dismal (?) and it can easily make people think it’s meant as a message that says “they died heroically”; them turning to face daemons alone. It’s the same for Loqi!!

Just because the last we see of him is him fighting a hoard of daemons alone doesn’t mean he necessarily died there. And the proof? The fact that his mech appears at Tenebrae during chapter 12, which we’ve cleared out happens a day or more after all of Episode Aranea.

So, I highly doubt that Aranea, Biggs, Wedge, or anyone else returned to Gralea, knowing the state it was in, just to retrieve Loqi’s mech. Maybe his body, if any, but the mech? Too big, too much, too...unimportant, unnecessary, even stupid. Why save somebody’s mech to honor them? Plus, it’s Aranea. As kind and warm as we know her heart is, I doubt she went back risking her life to save a mech just to honor him. Heck, she considers him annoying, if she was to mourn him at all she still wouldn’t go as far as to recover his entire machine, it’d be with anything else, or without a material something, I don’t see anyone, let alone her, retrieving a mech from a daemon-swamped place just...as a tombstone?

Hence, no one retrieved the mech. Someome piloted it to Tenebrae.

And we all know the MA-X Cuirass has only one pilot. (˘⌣˘)❤

And if we want to add a bit more to the theory, remember there’s a few implicit possible winks to Loqi in Comrades, minor things really, but that we would talk about here long ago and hope they meant Loqi, such as the men talking about befriending a ‘former mech pilot’ and one of the mission’s descriptions saying something along the lines of “a former imperial general reports...”.

That being said, I hope that I could help to clear out the timeline of FFXV storyline and how Episode Aranea fits in it, and I hope that I’ve proved that Loqi Tummelt survives the events of Episode Aranea, and hence, possibly survived the whole thing.

and then my brain is like, okay, what needs to change to make that work? 

1. mac needs to have come out earlier. what needs to happen to make that happen? luther needs to go to prison

2. that sounds kinda like an au of the pilot. how would this work? why wouldn’t they have gotten together earlier? maybe because mac left after high school. does dennis know he’s gay yet? without mac getting him drunk, the scheme from gets racist would’ve continued. would he know he’s gay then? what if mac came back and started flirting with him?

etc etc, basically an endless barrage of questions until i manage to twist that 1 passing thought until i force it to fit into a workable plot lmao, if the fic was borne of a convo then i copy down everything we said and reorganize it into something resembling a timeline. then i write a very basic outline (literally just a word doc that says ch1- x happens, y goes here, they fight?? , maybe so and so looks like this, insert this pre-written scene here – etc) and then i just. start

jen’s doctor who s11 review

On the whole!

I really enjoyed series 11 for its nice change in pace and especially the relationship built up between Graham and Ryan. I really liked how many of the episodes were lighter and kinda more adventure-y in nature than in past, instead of constant “the world is gonna end” danger. Like I love those kinds of episodes, believe me, but the lighter tone is very welcomed after many series of heart wrenching angst ahahahah! 

I loved how they handled the historical episodes this series, and really dug into the truth of human condition within those time periods, and took risks there. I actually learned a lot about the time periods they visited- for example, I never really heard much about the Pakistan partition in school. 

Thirteen is precious and I want to hug her. She’s so full of hope and that makes me so happy! :DDD I love how she’s a sciency tinkerer and likes cobbling stuff together out of whatever loose ends she can find. I’m still waiting for her to snap, though- maybe that’s just me as an angst lord talking, but I want to see her super super angry. The scene in The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos with her sternly disagreeing with Graham was very good though. But anyways, I love her positivity and her quirky alien charm, and her character feels like a natural progression of where the Doctor left off at the end of Twice Upon a Time. The Doctor has gone through a lot of healing since the Time War, a lot of self reflection and forgiving themself, and Thirteen is absolutely a product of that and it shows. It’s so nice to see them back on their feet, unshackled by that guilt finally, just wandering about the universe like they always did. 

Yasmin is so sweet and so loyal, and h o h boy if there’s anyone I can see sticking with the Doctor until the bitter end out of this crew it’s her. (*nervous laughter*) Out of all the crew she’s the one who’s had the least development though, so I’m looking forward to seeing where she goes as a character moving forward. Also, I hope we see her family more, I like them! Maybe in the New Years special, we’ll see. I’ve absolutely hit the “ADOPT KID” button on Ryan, the more I think about him the more I love him- just, all this time he’s been looking for belonging, for people who aren’t gonna leave him behind like his dad, and he had that with his nan Grace- but he didn’t know if Graham was gonna be the same or if he was only there for him bc of association with Grace. But now through all these adventures through space and time he has absolute proof that Graham will be there for him, and so he’s made the conscious decision to make Graham his family. And Graham, hhh... his grieving throughout the series, while not acting as a shadow on it, was always woven through and it’s nice to see both him and Ryan actually make peace with things through seeing Tim Shaw again and giving him his humble pie. 

In the end when it comes to this series, I love the strong found family vibes it gives. Graham and Ryan and Yaz, they all knew each other in some way before, but they didn’t truly know each other. And through being thrown together with the Doctor, entering her wild adventurous life, they got to grow closer as friends, but more importantly, as a family. The whole series the Doctor was looking for a word to describe her little ragtag group, and she wasn’t exactly sure if “fam” was the right one, but in the end it’s what she settles on because this has become a family. 

Now, what I’m hoping to see more of in the future! 

1) I’d love to see more extended domestic-y TARDIS scenes! We’ve got a lot of pre/post endcap TARDIS scenes, but I’d love to see more small little convos between characters on the way to their destinations, in between, etc. For as long as these episodes were I feel like so much time was spent providing exposition and story for the plot, but I’d love to see more fun nonsense. More glimpses at what they get up to in between, if that makes any sense. (As an example of what I mean, we got a bit of this in The Tsuranga Conundrum, at the very beginning when they were just poking about a junkyard planet, and I quite liked that.)

2) As the characters keep developing I’d love to see more conflict arise between them to test their friendships. We saw some good moments of this with the Doctor telling Ryan to stay behind with Hanne in It Takes You Away after he made a kinda narrow-minded comment about her disability, and when the Doctor flat out told Graham that if he killed Tim Shaw he wouldn’t be traveling with her anymore in the finale. I’d love to see more of this.

3) This may just be because I’m really queer, but I want the Doctor to snap and yell and get really angry at something. That’s the ONE thing that felt entirely missing from this series. In the end I get the sense that this Doctor has a far greater reign on her emotions and self because she’s healed quite a bit, but I still know she’s capable of that righteous anger and I’d love to see Jodie show off her full range with a scene like that.

4) We’ll probably get this in the New Years special, but I’m super anticipating Thirteen facing the Daleks. This is a quintessential thing for every Doctor, in my opinion, and I can’t wait for when they (hopefully!) eventually do that.

5) More of a plot arc. I definitely know the lack of a tight plot arc was because they wanted it to be more accessible for people to just tune in and watch without context,, as they’re gaining some new fans, but I hope that there’s more of a return to an ongoing series plot arc with this next series since everything’s been established. I personally really like those, because I get to be a plot arc detective! I will say that I’m very pleased that Tim Shaw was brought back for the finale, though- that acted as a very nice bookend and helped tie up all the emotional threads.

6) Also not exactly anything I can fault this series for, because I can tell one of the points/themes of it was “not everything is what it seems on the surface” and “sometimes the real monsters,,, are humanity” and I very much respect that, but I do wanna see some more just... alien baddies who ARE baddies and not misunderstood. Listen,, I’m a simple minded person. Love me some monsters! 

My rankings! 

For context, I’m generally very easy with my ratings. I’m not rating them on how critically perfect they are as plots or anything, this is purely based on how much I enjoyed them. I’ve only actually rated nine episodes of Doctor Who 2005-present with scores of 6 or below.

1) Demons of the Punjab    (10) This ep made me cry more than any episode of Doctor Who has in a very long time. Incredibly poignant, stunning music and cinematography. Taught me a whole lot I never knew about the partition and how it affected everyday people. I liked how the Doctor assumed the whole time that these aliens were  A good Yaz centric ep, too. It ranks 7th in my list of all-time favorites.  

2) It Takes You Away   (9.5) Wowee, another very poignant one! Some FANTASTIC acting from Jodie in this ep, and a very trippy concept with the sentient universe. Loved getting to see each companion getting a good role to play. ALSO CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT HOW MUCH I STAN THAT FROG??? AND THE DOCTOR SEDUCING AN ENTIRE UNIVERSE???? B R U H. Hanne’s actress did a wonderful job too! 

3) Kerblam!   (9) What a heckin fun episode! This one will definitely become one of my comfort eps, I can already tell. The secondary characters were all lovely, and the bots were delightfully unsettling too! I spent the whole thing going “wow I totally experienced this working at Amazon” and I thought that was pretty funny. Also, I might highlight all the wonderful Graham snark we got in this one. 

4) Rosa    (9) Gahhh this was a hard one to watch, but very truthful in its depiction of the time period, and a lovely tribute to an incredibly courageous woman. Shout out to how the ep forced Graham to recognize and accept his white privilege (and the Doctor too for that matter), the scene with Ryan and Yaz discussing racism they’ve had to endure, and also for the scene with the Doctor making jokes about Banksy. That made me laugh. “Banksy doesn’t have one of these! Or do I?”

5) The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos    (9) I was VERY glad to see Tim Shaw return for some finished business, and how it allowed Graham and Ryan to finally get a bit of peace for what happened to Grace because of him. This was a solid ep, with some SOLID character moments between Graham and the Doctor and Graham and Ryan. The Ux were interesting, too.

6) The Woman Who Fell to Earth    (8.5) Solid, fun episode. It wastes no time in setting up who Thirteen will be. Still one of my favorite scenes in this whole series so far is when she builds her own sonic screwdriver- GOD the music there is so damn iconic. And gahhh I love Grace so much. How dare they make me love a character so much and then let her die? Rude. That’s homophobia. XD

7) The Witchfinders   (8.5) The Doctor gets dunked in water and has soaked hair. Dare I say more? No, but I was glad to see an ep with an alien danger that actually IS an alien danger that seeks to destroy and conquer, I always love those- and this one, with weird sentient mud that can fill corpses, was delightfully grim. Willow was a great secondary character, too- loved her especially. 8) The Ghost Monument   (8) Okay so I really loved how slice-of-life this episode was? We actually got to know our secondary characters Angstrom and Epzo and I appreciated that. The bit with the Doctor thinking the TARDIS was gone forever at the end... hhhhhhng... that was such a good scene. You could just see the hope drained from her face, and then to see it all rush back as she finally found her?? W o w I’m so emo, y’all ;D;

9) The Tsuranga Conundrum  (7) So I enjoyed this one, but there were some kinda oddly phrased bits of dialogue in it that marks it down for me. The Pting is a delightfully weird and cursed creature, 10/10, would yeet out of a spacecraft. I already mentioned this, but I LOVE the scene in the junkyard and how slice-of-life it was. I also appreciate how someone called out the Doctor on being selfish during this. 10) Arachnids in the UK   (6.5) So this episode was riding right on the edge of “ehh” for me, but it still has some great moments in it, with the Doctor awkwardly interacting with Yasmin’s family and all those heckin spiders bee-boppin down the hallways to the tune of rap music. XD I can’t exactly pick out why it was an “eh” for me, but it just didn’t click. Maybe I was just hoping it’d be an alien thing and was kinda left wanting with the way the episode felt kinda... unfinished. Like, there’s still a bunch of giant spiders? They didn’t solve that. They just- trapped them and left. I dunno I was left wanting with this ep.

List your rarepairs. List your favorite Fics about them

@michellemagly made up this neato list and I totally wanted to get in on this.

I’m gonna dig for some, but a couple stood out immediately to me! Some of ‘em are..................extremely NSFW, but in the cases I’m thinking of, it’s done such sweet justice to the pair that it’s made it hard for me to consider these characters with anyone else. I’ll mark the NSFW ones.

1. Krem x Merrill, from Dragon Age (Inquisition and 2, respectively). One of those pairings that didn’t occur to me until I saw a fic, and now it’s the only one I can ever think of ever. I...I can’t even put into words why it fits so well, so I’ll link the NSFW fic that convinced me when I didn’t even know I needed convincing: Loose Skirts by WrenAndPoppy. Pls read it. So in-character with so many different characters that it feels like canon. It should be. It probably is.

2. Craig Cahn x Robert Small from Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Sim. I think I was looking for fluffy Craig/MC fic when I found this instead (I couldn’t find much of what I was originally looking for, anyway) and now it’s the only pairing I actually think about for the non-MC guys. Craig needs to chill out. Robert chills too much in some ways and way not enough in others. I think their ways of emotional processing are...kind of similar. The overextending until collapse. The need to block out all else and not think too deeply about the real problems. Anyway if you want very very very NSFW seriously look around you first, then read the Bros Helping Bros series by Tenebrosa

Oh hey did anyone wanna hear about my many favorite Naruto rarepairs? No? Here’s three!

3.  Hidan & Temari (in friendship, but it’s going here anyway). Right? RIGHT???? Who the HECK would think? Not me, that’s for dang sure. I still don’t. The only way it works is in a contemporary AU centered on soldiers and the people back home that has nothing to do with ninjas at all but somehow still keeps the most important elements of Naruto. Somehow. But they play off each other so well! Temari’s no-nonsense, tenacious outlook and her fierce love for her family is such a good, idk, balance to Hidan’s impulsiveness and brashness and self-centered attitude that’s not based so much on pain or trauma or whatever as much as it is the fact that he really does just....think only of himself. I’m not selling this well. I’ve said so before, but A Remedy for Lassitude by firefly is the fic that has positively moved me more than any other.

4. Hidan x Hinata okay this is only going here AGAIN because of One Fic, and yes, it’s another contemporary AU (this one about working in journalism?????). But this is more plausible, right? Foul-mouthed Hidan and sweet but strong Hinata? Read Bluescast by stones if this intrigues you. That fic still makes me laugh out loud at parts.

5. Kimimaro x Sakura. I do wish there was more of this!!!! I’d write it myself, except I don’t want to dive down the Naruto-lore rabbit hole to get everything ninja-y right. Everyone ships Sakura with literally everyone, but this is one Bad Guy example I get behind and can see it being at least reasonably not terrible! (I know I wrote a 40k word SasoSaku fanfic but the whole point of that was how unhealthy it was, leave me alone) “Only Sakura could heal Kimimaro’s physical condition” aside, Sakura knows a lot about brainwashing (especially where ol’ Orochimaru is concerned) and there were other reasons why Kimimaro is good for her that I forget. It’s been a long time since I’ve read Canon-ish Naruto Fics, for a GOOD REASON, because once I start, I p much never stop. Here’s Marrow by DeGlace--the author rewrote it completely from when I first read it in 2006, and it’s now rated M when I remember it being T, so...maybe it’s NSFW now? I don’t think it had been finished when I was following along 12 years ago...Well, read it and tell me about it.

6. Wayne x Siluka from Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns. LEAVE ME ALONE, I’M THE ONLY ONE WHO WROTE IT BUT YOU GOTTA TRUST ME ON ITS PERFECTION. Here’s my super frickin’ fluffy fic on it, Sunshower, but you can start with the Siluka-less one-shot for some quick background before beginning called Stars In Her Eyes. The series is called Farmer’s Almanac because maybe one day I’ll finish part 3.

7. Saizou x Mozu from Fire Emblem: Fates. When I was playing Birthright, I had Saizou protecting little villager Mozu like, all the fricking time, because villager class is best class but it takes a LONG time to get there, and Saizou Ninja is strong af. Naturally, they started getting support convos, and....oh, god. They’re sweet. They bond over being from small villages, eating stew, missing their hometowns....it’s so domestic and it kills me. For whatever ungodly reason (probably because I knew I’d never get someone else writing anything for them), I wrote a softly smutty fic for them. It’s pretty lame in feeling plot-y at all because I hadn’t (and still haven’t) finished the game or gotten close, but who cares when it comes to sweet n sexy love? It’s called Borrowed Moments I guess oh and also it’s NSFW obviously.

basically...her parents are UGLY & filthy rich u know the usual around here jdcbdjbgj valentin moon has a billion dollar power company based in korea & violetta moon was the baby of an oil titan & an ex supermodel. they have two kids.....vaughn is the oldest and then there’s verena !!! they all have v names bc like i said her parents are UGLY & hate fun !

so her dad really didnt care about her & just her brother so lucky verena got stuck with her mom.....who literally treated her like a doll & dressed her up for parties & dragged her around important business meetings & basically taught her how to be obedient in some ummm messed up ways folks ! as a kid verena was basically mute bc it was just easier & safer that way for her uhh when i say she hasn’t cried since she was seven i mean it  

so seven ! when she was seven verena came to the realization her parents treated her the way they did bc she wasn’t trying hard enough so she came home with her report card all happy bc she had the highest grades in her class and was literally the highest in her grade & she thought they were finally gonna praise her but uhhh the opposite happened basically they beat it into her that being ambitious is bad and it leads to corruption & verena took it as she’s never going to be good enough so her self worth meter ? a solid ZERO 

moved from seoul to nyc at fifteen and was super happy about it ! her parents hated it because they thought new york was an ugly in sinful city but verena was having a fun time nutting over architecture or whatever JBCJS this is when her brother vaughn went to st. andrews so carry on the moon legacy so verena’s fun was short lived

basically her brother had literally been a carbon copy of his parents but once he joined the society he did a 180 and was just completely wild and getting into a bunch of shit & since both her parents had been in diadem imperium they got double the connections &  heard abt everything he was doing so instead of taking it out on vaughn they took it out on verena

when her brother graduated he came back to nyc and verena was just . so disconnected from everyone in her family at that point & just numb to all the abuse she just wanted out she was relieved to leave to scotland & start up at st andrews 

OK SO PERSONALITY WISE verena literally has zero idea how to deal with her emotions bc as a kid showing emotion = getting “disciplined” so even away from her parents verena just has zero idea how they work or what to do with stuff she feels. SUPER DETACHED ! like....she’s got no idea how to connect to people so she comes across as really cold which sucks to her bc even when she does want to try to make a friend she’s just so shitty at it so she doesn’t bother. 

usually she’s quiet but she’s irritated easily so she tends to snap sometimes & even when she’s in a good mood & joking it’s all sarcasm which again....comes across as mean. she doesnt know how to care enough about people so usually she’s just indifferent to you but there are exceptions ( orion -___- ) so that could be fun

her biggest biggest pet peeve is people who think they’re better than other people & try to assert that power over other ppl ( again . orion -_____- ) bc she was literally never allowed to be ambitious or have a good opnion about herself so it just rubs her the wrong way ! will get into arguments over this . 10/10 stubborn about it .

45 pound Weight Loss Transformation

If you’re new to Love Sweat Fitness and just scroll through my Instagram or watch my YouTube videos, you might not know my story. You may think I’m just “one of those girls who has always been fit and healthy.” From the outside I have a whole lot of energy, make you seriously sweat without any equipment and look nice and toned. You think, “there is no way she could have hypothyroidism, have struggled with weight, or have had a 45 pound weight loss transformation,” right?

Where it began…

I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism at age 11 and for as long as I can remember (at least since middle school) I struggled with my weight and self-confidence. By the time I was in high school yo-yo dieting was part of my “normal” routine. Name a fad diet, I tried it, and nothing worked long term. In college my freshman 15 turned into the senior 45 and the cycle continued. My lack of self-confidence continued to grow and I eventually found myself not just overweight, but completely unhealthy mentally and physically.

Where it all changed…

My “aha!” moment came after convo with my dad who reminded me I was beautiful, loved, and worth it. I was worth the pain I would have to go through to address the root of the unhealthy habits I had created. I was worthy of self-love, self-respect and true happiness. After a lot of tears, I realized I was the only person who could change the way I thought about myself and that’s when my entire world changed.

For years I had allowed my hypothyroidism to be a crutch. An excuse for why I didn’t have energy and couldn’t lose weight. So, for the first time ever, instead of focusing the things I couldn’t do, I focused on all the things I could do to feel better. I had always set huge goals like “Lose 25lbs” then wouldn’t which led to me feeling like a failure. It was no way to live.

This time, I didn’t focus on my weight, but instead chose to focus on feeling good and I set small micro goals to make it happen. Those little things I could do each day to feel better from the inside out. For me, it was walking or doing body weight exercises in my room for at least ten minutes a day and fueling my body with foods that didn’t leave me feeling like garbage.

When you start small you have more reasons to celebrate all along the way! That’s what helped me stay encouraged and motivated to keep moving forward. It may have only been ten minutes a day, but I was so proud of the progress I was making inside and out.

Staying motivated…

Those small victories are what allowed me finally say good-bye to extreme diets and routines and truly change my lifestyle. I learned to love myself and treat my body like the amazing gift it is. My 10 minutes a day slowly turned into 20, 30, and sometimes even 45 minutes! And BONUS – I had a 45 pound weight loss transformation as a result of that new lifestyle!

Through it all I developed a deep passion for helping other women understand that they deserve to have a healthy, happy, hot body and live their best lives too! I knew the emotional pain I had gone through all those years and knew I needed to help other women avoid that at all cost and that’s when Love Sweat Fitness was born.

Two years after my own weight loss, I became a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor and started sharing my story, workouts and tips on Instagram. I created meal plans based on how I learned to nourish my body so I could reach my goals and still have fun!

Now we have over one million women a part of #TeamLSF who have all come together to support one another each day in their own journeys and thousands of women who have also had major transformations of their own!

It’s been almost ten years since I lost the weight, but through the years I’ve realized, it’s less about what you loose during your transformation and more about what you gain. Confidence, self love, self respect. These are all things I was lacking. They don’t magically happen as soon as you loose weight, but the physical and emotional hurdles you have to jump over throughout your journey change you. They force you to grow in ways you never expected and leave you stronger than before.

No matter where you’re at in your journey remember this:

Headcanon: Casey Jones being on the Autistic Spectrum

I see plenty of neurodivergent headcanons for the turtles galore, but never for any of the human characters. In all honestly, saying one of the turtles is on the autistic spectrum is iffy and uncomfortable to me at least because it’s sorta implying that said autism would be the result of a mutation caused by an external element. Because it’s not like we’ve had shit over some dickhead portraying autism as a side effect of vaccination rather than it being a mental disorder that’s as embedded in our genes and beings as internal organs and a massive part of who we are as people. also fuck you wakefield

And so thinking about it more, it just clicked that Casey could fit an autistic headcanon. So here’s a list of things about his character I believe fit such a headcanon based on personal experience and from other autistic people I’ve known:

• Apparently the writers put him at around 17 years old, a year older than April, with some intent that he might have been held back during his education (probably to tie into him seeking April for tutoring). I don’t have any knowledge of American education beyond secondhand information I may see on the internet or pop up on my dash, so my only knowledge of being autistic in a learning system built around neurotypical students is from brief personal experience. Neurotypical education sucks when there isn’t enough awareness of learning difficulties or the teachers don’t have enough training to know how to handle it. Casey might have trouble with his education because he may have difficulties trying to pay attention and absorb information without the tools or support to help him focus. This can get you labelled as just bad behaviour or being dumb/stupid. I sure as hell wasn’t able to follow lessons in school until I finally had someone who listened to why I didn’t like lessons and found them hard to understand. We don’t have any clue as to when Casey was held back if this concept still applies in canon, but being held back might not mean he just didn’t care to study or doesn’t have the smarts to pass. Granted it gets harder to care about learning when you have trouble understanding and your educators don’t bother to help you so much as call you lazy. Which brings me to my next point.

• Casey’s interests and knowledge in gadgets, vehicles, and metalwork. The boy knows his stuff when it comes to Mad Max-looking makeshift weaponry and devices, which is clear from his decked out bike and the crude taser that he’s managed to strap to his arm without frying himself. He worked with Donnie to rig up a supercar as a hobby and helped pimp up the Party Wagon. And he’s still flunking trig. (so’s April but shhhhh that was just a Season 1 thing) Casey seems like a very visual learner in this case: he picks up on things through observation and is self-taught on what interests him. For all we know he figured out cars while being cooped up on a farm with nothing better to do while one of his terrapin friends was in a coma. I’ve ended up doing that with some programs I use or with life stuff in general. Manuals are boring and slow and easy to lose focus on. Maybe look up a couple of video tutorials for something but most of building skills and interests is self-teaching and trial-and-error. (my experience of video editing and art programs is “what’s this do and can i figure out what makes it tick without looking it up”, which is an approach to new interests I think also fits Casey). Likely not something specific or common in autistic people, but figuring things out in such a way has been a thing that popped up for me and a couple of old friends. What I’m saying is Casey made that new mask after half-watching a couple of cosplay tutorials and winging it with some scrap.

• Casey wears those gloves and that headband all the damn time. Even when he’s eating pizza, he’s eating it wearing gloves that have probably been worn working on his bike, wielding a hockey stick/baseball bat that’s likely bashed sweaty heads in rain two weeks ago without being washed, and just the day-to-day things that would get those gloves sweaty or grimey or icky. He wears that headband at all times, even when he’s wearing a mask thank would probably fit better if he took that band of material off of his head. What do his headband and gloves also have in common? They’re articles of clothing that usually have elastic to stay in place. Sure canonically they’re just there to fit his grungy look (get to that hoodie in a second), but digging myself deeper into this headcanon i got to thinking they might also serve sensory/stimming purposes. If there’s something that I think is one thing autistic people have in common or a feeling they share, it’s fiddling/fidgeting and certain sensory things to some level: e.g. I usually wear loose tops because i like fiddling with the hems and corners of my clothing. Some people wear tight or loose clothing based on how they process the sensation of skin against different type of clothing. Casey never taking off his damn gloves or headband could be seen as him liking the sensation of the elastic in them around his wrists and forehead. He probably pings the elastic as well because that’s fun too when you’re bored and need to fiddle.

I refuse to believe that he has never washed that hoodie. I mean yeah the turtles have smelt worse living in a sewer but Casey is a Human who has spent most of his life around Humans and his Human father would probably have burnt his clothes by now if Casey never washed the stink out of them. That and Casey is a hockey player, and I imagine stinking clothes is an annoyance that comes from most sports. Those paint stains on his hoodie I think he’s leaving there on purpose, like he’ll wash his clothes but no dad his clothes get washed separate because he can’t wash his clothes with your clothes because you use stuff that lifts stains and that’ll get rid of the paint splats that he likes on his clothes and why does he want paint splats because he does and they look nice and he probably won’t get the same splatter pattern again if he tried and shush dad this hoodie stays the same because it has to because shut up. We don’t really see Casey tagging anything regularly so unless it’s because they don’t change the texture on animated models because what’s the point it’s not a cgi blockbuster we’re making here Casey probably keeps his paint splattered hoodie like that because it looks nice and it’ll stay nice dad. It’s a Thing.

• Casey constantly refers to a love of heavy metal music. Too much sound for an autistic person can end up in sensory overload and that fucking sucks. And in general just the world around you can suck and you wanna shut it out because ugh. You know what helps? Headphones and really loud music. What genre has really loud music? Yup.

Casey having a social battery. He just pops in and out of the show all the time because the writers dunno what do with him shrug so yeah. Autism likes to play up the variance of a person’s social needs and wants and limits. You want to be friends but you just can’t be asked to be with people right now. You get this surge of wanting to hang out with friends and be loud for a bit, and then you have this mood where you just want to not exist or just not do things. Basically like this:

“raph great to see you i love your face” “whatever weirdo”

1) how else would he come up with Goongala of COURSE!!! That and pre-learned phrases are great to have when spontaneous speech is a bitch and you trip over words and stammer. not that i would know anything about that nooo We’ve already heard him muddle up words in the moment (I think he said jumbled up “racism” later in S4)

2) Tone control is something I’ve dealt with, too. Apparently I have resting bitch voice so I’ll say something and get asked if i’m in a bad mood or snapped at for “being rude”. Also knew other autistic people who would have ranges of tones in certain convos too, e.g. one always sounded happy and chipper and laughed a lot even when something wasn’t particularly funny, one person’s tone of voice went everywhere it was hard to tell what their feelings were even with the context of conversation. Casey’s attitude and tone in conversation, even serious ones, might be an indication of that, I agree.

3) Oh yeah, he definitely fits hyperfixation. There’s his hobbies, and also there’s how he sees his future. When he and April are in the park for their first study session, he’s got two clear ideas for what to do with his life; Hockey Star or Bounty Hunter. With him immediately trying to play hero when confronted with a walking talking tank of organs his bounty hunter fantasy may have something to do with it. He’s reckless and headstrong, but it also lends to his fixation on one of his dream careers; if fighting a monster that he’s confronted with something he sees as a step to bounty hunting, he’ll likely put up his dukes and get melted because ACID HANDS I have definitely known people who were determined on doing something because it was what they wanted. It might’ve come across as stubbornness or rigidness depending on what it (even something as simple as just doing something like a chore a certain way), but in context of ambitions and their future they were pumped as hell to take the steps they needed to take to do what they liked and what they wanted for themselves. They didn’t care about what people thought of them even if they didn’t pass as neurotypical and would get stares on the street. Not sure how they would react if say culinary career path involved fighting mutated food, but considering the show itself is an action-adventure cartoon with mutant turtles I think we can give Casey a pass on that lack of realism there. we begrudgingly give the writers passes all the time so why stop now

Aaaand the point i forgot to put in my original post:

• Casey’s less-than appropo reactions or attitudes in situations possibly links to difficulty reading people, being empathetic or understanding social cues/priorities. Reading and understanding facial expressions and body language can be a bitch if you’re autistic. There’s even a learning software program a couple of students from my school would use in one-to-one sessions that specifically addresses this for those who find it THAT hard to tell what another person is expressing. It’s especially troublesome because empathy can be a confusing thing too, because it can go from you not really having any empathy to you having so much that you think you’re hurting the feelings of a pair of shoes because you chose to wear something else that day which totally isn’t the extreme i experience at all hahaha help i’m mentally apologising to a boot Casey doesn’t appear to take things seriously in dangerous circumstances the majority of the time, nor does he appear considerate of others at other times. It’s a lot of confidence and certainty that things will turn out OK (with a heaping spoonful of “self preservation instinct what self preservation instinct”). It’s not always an appropriate attitude to make jokes and quips and tease and make jabs at people, but he HAS taken things seriously and shown worry/sadness at appropriate times. He’s really quiet and almost numb when the subject of his family’s fate comes up in Invasion, and he was surprisingly the only one to be most affected after watching someone get mOLECULARLY RIPPED APART. From experience, both personal and through observation, figuring out how to react and respond to things when you don’t really know how to is a pain in the ass and often distressing because you feel bad for not knowing. Sometimes you resort to humour to lighten things and try to ease tensions, sometimes you have an internal screaming match with yourself and panic and go through an archive of potential reactions because what the fuck would apply here, or sometimes you just shut down or just don’t react like it’s not really a big deal or even happening. Or you end up going through verbal barfing and dig yourself deeper into a hole of instant regret because you’re making yourself look like an ass when you don’t want to why is this so hARD. I think Casey would fall into the “address things with confidence and cockiness” kind of reaction pool, because it’s an attitude he’s comfortable with and how he better deals and processes things. It’s not to say he doesn’t have some empathy or disregard for other people’s feelings (hello Buried Secrets), it could be that it’s not comfortable territory for him even when he wants to be serious/emotionally supportive. did any of that come out right fffffffffU

• Casey’s small social circle and it possibly being by choice. His best friends are the girl who he met through tutoring in a subject she was failing before and four giant turtles who are trained in ninjutsu. He only mentions having one friend before, a friend with whom he had a falling out, and he didn’t seem to like Irma all that much (you can say it’s because “she’s a third wheel on dates” but even outside of that he didn’t seem to get along with her much). With things like hyperfixation and the like making a vast group of friends is tricky. Being autistic might mean the friends you choose to make have lots of interest in common with you rather than just being someone you get along with. Not to say being autistic means you are limited to a few friends. I’m no expert on autistic social lives, I can only draw from firsthand experience. I found trying to maintain a number of friendships difficult and often overwhelming so at some point in school I stopped trying to make friends, with the exception of a couple of people I liked and had common interests with. I chose to keep my social circle small because the thought of making lots of friends and keeping in touch with them all and remembering who likes who and what overwhelmed me and made me nervous as a child. Still kinda leaks into adulthood because I don't have many friends outside of the company I keep on tumblr. In this autistic headcanon, Casey’s very small social circle could be by choice. He doesn’t mention having any other friends besides one previously, fixates on April (and yes I am knocking the romantic aspect out the window for this) after approaching her for tutoring because he found her cool and likes hanging out with her (and probably saw kicking a mutant’s ass as common ground/bonding too), hung out with her even when a person he wasn’t keen on (Irma) was also there, and even when he’s introduced to the turtles and befriends them he still appears to be platonically closest to April arguably, depends on how the writers want to write him that week. Considering how the love triangle bullhockey has been given little to no reference as of late, his concern for April in Tokka vs the World and his annoyance at Leo’s teamup picks in Tale of Tiger Claw might be more because he can’t be with his favourite person. (and yes that can be a Thing too) He might also fixate on having April’s company because she isn’t much of a social butterfly herself outside of the friendly neighbourhood mutants living in the sewer. Compare how many times we see him hanging out with the turtles minus April versus when April is present.
