Disagree with me! Please disagree with me in as much detail as you can! I love learning and having my mind opened, and hearing the perspectives of people who think differently from me or who are informed by different experiences! I’d be the first to admit my identities and biases would probably tilt me in certain directions more than others. But please disagree with some basic civility and kindness, if you can - I would hope I show you the same! I am very sensitive and cry a lot lol

(This doesn’t mean ‘don’t call me out if I say something really offensive’, by the way. It just means assume I’m a person with good intentions and the full range of human emotions, and that like anyone else I learn better when not shamed.)

People get exactly one chance to have a good faith discussion about Hunger Games with me

We don’t have to agree. I’d much prefer if we did, particularly in regard to the messaging of the series.

However, I am willing to have a civil disagreement. As long as it is exactly that. Civil.

The people who can’t handle being challenged in their personal view of the story so much so that they have to insult and try to discredit anyone not sharing that view, in order to feel superior? No.

If you are a prick, I will be a prick right back.

Politely disagree all day long if you want.

Accuse me of having never red the books? Making shit up? Having a “stupid conclusion?”

Go to hell.

For everyone who wants to be an asshole, there are two or more who do not.

I have real concern for the future.

Those who understand Hunger Games make me feel hopeful.

Those who do not, and refuse to even discuss the matter, make me more fearful for our uncertain future.

If you don’t understand, but are willing to at least try to understand, I will gladly take the time to converse.

I cannot continue deal with people who refuse to listen.

If I take that on, my mental health will suffer.

I have to hold on to every single solitary ounce of hope for the future and peace of mind I can find.

No, people haven’t particularly been the proverbial thorns in my side on this issue on tumblr

But I’ve been getting it a lot on Instagram and I am sick of it.

Just putting this same rundown over here preemptively.

For those whose comment I see with agreement on the subject or an honest willingness to at least think about it… I appreciate you more than I know how to properly express.

I could rack my brain for some long, eloquent message filled with big words, but I would never find it satisfactory.
