✧I woke up at 6 AM today [ I usually wake up at 6:45 AM to get ready for school ], so I had about half an hour to study before I had to prepare for school. I did some extra work for the chemistry homework we'd been given and I felt happy when miss acknowledged it. But I slept off for 3 hours (!) when I reached home and I didn't get to study anything properly other than play around with Python before my comp class tomorrow. I want to do better tomorrow ! ✧

p.s psstt all my textbooks are second-handed so the markings in the book aren't by me

I need to realize what I need to do.

I need to sum up just how much school work I need to do to not drop out. Because of my slacking during the first half-year a lot of work has piled up which I didn't know about because I didn't pay atantion to it...

Just now I found out that in just almost a month my final project about making a smart fridge is supposed to be pretty much done, while also having a functioning public website about it and a poster with a QR code leading to that website (❁´◡`❁).

I still didn't even make a concept on how it's supposed to work🙂

I'm still shit at SQL and C# stuff that everyone already knows... damn

Yeah Imma make a word document summarizing everything I need to catch up to.

but I am chained to my desk and responsibilities

Once upon a time I wished

to grow up and be an adult in an instant

but now I only wish to slow down the process as much as possible

as the years pass, my bag grows heavier with books

as the years pass, I must put in more effort than it took before

I turn back to the piles of books and papers on my table

realising with dread that I will never be able to get back the years that passed.

I take note of my incomplete assignments and upcoming tests

and with defeat and resignment

I sigh yet again, pick up my pen, and start writing again

The Final Weeks of School (senioritis tips in one)

with senioritis kicking my ass, I've been struggling to find the motivation (and lack of stress) to do any of my homework or go to school. but i do have some tips that have helped me.

-before school, meet up with a friend. I know this isn't always possible since school starts at the buttcrack of dawn, but every Tuesday and Thursday, my friend and I stop and get coffee on the way to school. This helps me find the motivation to get out of bed in the morning.

-make plans/have something to look forward to after school. For example, if a friend and i make plans after school, we go from place to place together. this gives me motivation to stay at school the entire day and not just go home

-if things start to get stressful or stupid during the day, take a break. i probably shouldn't be advocating for skipping class, but sometimes you just need to take a step back. oftentimes when i'm too stressed to focus on anything, i go get coffee or i just sit in my car and scroll on my phone. the detachment makes your workload more bearable. (note: don't make a habit of skipping classes, and make sure its classes that you don't absolutely need to be in at the moment. i would say to skip once a week at MAXIMUM)

-try to do as much work as you can while at school so that you don't have to worry about it when you get home. a lot of my short assignments i can do while i'm in school, so i do. i rarely have homework to do at home, which gives me time to focus on my own personal projects.

-break down assignments. this has absolutely saved my sanity when i have 4,000 assignments due. first, prioritize what is due soonest, and then break it down. for example, with an essay, i break it down into 4 parts:

research

outline

rough draft

edit and revise

obviously you can adapt this process to fit you, but i do one step per day.

Because of holidays I will be taking it easy and slowly finish my history chapters because I have been ignoring them for a long while.
