Disabled & Need Help While Waiting for SSA Decision

EDIT: I'm all covered for the month!! thank you all so so much!!

Hi, it's time for yet another one of these. I'm disabled and US Social Security has been kicking me around their system for a couple of years, now. I spoke to a judge in November, and was told I'd get a decision, but it's been more than 5 weeks now and I'm still waiting.

I have no choice but to keep asking people online to help me cover the monthly bills that my partner can't afford to cover, which are about $200.

hello, my name is equinox, i am severely disabled autistic trans person dealing with schizophrenia, PTSD, arthritis, hypermobile ehlers-danlos syndrome, degenerative disc disease and gastroparesis. i am a wheelchair and cane user. i am recovering and stabilizing after being homeless for 6 months; i just spent 2 full months living in a hotel paying $38/night. i have relocated into my apartment that i was waiting 6 months for due to the subsidized housing program taking forever to calculate my earned income

i just paid $307 for my deposit + prorated rent in order to move in, as well as a $20 electric bill and a $35 bill to get internet set up, which is required for my jewelry business. i also had i also currently need a lot of things in order to make my house livable including a bed and food, and being able to get to the pharmacy for my medications. right now i have no food in my home due to having to spend money on uber XLs to and from my motel and storage unit in order to get the few possessions i have like blankets and personal belongings. i lost a lot of my kitchen supplies when transitioning between staying with friends for a while

Disabled & Need Financial Help

Hey it's the start of a new month so sadly I have to do this again.

I'm disabled and I'm waiting on US Social Security to hopefully approve my case for disability pay. I had a hearing about it a couple weeks ago, but the judge gave me no hints on how long it would take to hear back from the court as to whether I'm going to be approved or not.

That being said, I have bills I need to pay. My big stuff is covered by my partner who I live with, so I don't have to worry about rent and food too much, but I do need about $200 a month to pay bills that she can't afford to help me with.

happy pride month ! consider helping a disabled queer person save up to leave their abusive home

as some of you already know, my current living arrangement is not sustainable or safe. i was recently shoved down the stairs by my abusive younger brother. i’ve been dealing with an ankle that i can’t put much weight on and severe bruising all over my body, but specifically in my rib cage. it hurts to move, cough, and even breathe. 

this isn’t the first instance of violence that i’ve had to deal with. if my brother has a bad day or is in a bad mood, he will take it out on me. my family completely enables his behavior and i can’t continue living like this. it’s to the point that i’ve been isolating myself in my room and only leaving when absolutely necessary.

all of this is on top of my chronic pain and recurring cysts, both of which inhibit my ability to find work with proper accommodations. my only source of income at the moment is selling art, which isn’t sustainable with how infrequently i get commissioned. 

i have a friend who is looking for someone to move in when their roommate leaves, but that isn’t until september. i’ve explained my current situation to them and they’ve agreed to let me only pay a quarter of the rent, which is roughly $250/month. i’ll also need to buy my own groceries. and i’ll have to pay for my own transportation to and from places until i can afford a car. i’m fortunate enough to have somewhere to go, i just need to be able to afford to live there. if anyone could spare even a few dollars, it would mean the world to me ! you can also commission me if you’re interested, i’ll leave the link below. and if you still want to support me but aren’t able to monetarily, please reblog this post and spread the word !!

hey everyone, still desperate, just didn't ask earlier cause i've been so sick and dissociated from 8h a day of construction in my building all month after the flood. i'm in the red already and my cheque doesn't come for more than a week. i have to take a cab today to a doctor's appointment and a bunch of other stuff next week. i just had to take my cat to the vet for new arthritis meds ($160) and i'm supposed to take her back in a week for another injection and to learn how to give them myself (~$100 including the exam and cab there).

RE: Missouri Trans Ban

As one of our immediate neighbors, we are appalled by the Missouri Attorney General's decision to ban ALL transitioning, including hormone replacement therapy, for transgender Missourians - including adults.

Even though HRT has been documented for decades to be life-saving and the best treatment for gender dysphoria, transgender adults in Missouri will be cut off from transition services beginning April 27th. All current transgender Missouri residents will have to undergo intense screening to continue their care - and will only be allowed to keep their medication routine if they show ZERO signs of mental illness, including depression, anxiety, autism, and "social media addiction." Missouri AG Andrew Bailey is now also enforcing a three-year waiting period, 18-month psychological assessment, and 15 YEAR medical supervision for anyone able to get past the screening process.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

1. SHARE THE NEWS AND TELL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES. Many news outlets that aren't explicitly focused on LGBTQIA+ issues have failed to cover how dangerous this decision is, and we know when anti-transgender organizations see something like this get approved in one state, they'll try to replicate it in others and nationally.

The Attorney General's decision goes into effect April 27th - so you have until then to pick up any prescriptions you have access to. If you are on feminizing HRT, you MAY be able to use this small time window to stockpile your prescriptions until either Bailey's decision is reversed or you are able to find alternate means of getting your medication.

Even AFTER April 27th, you CAN still get your HRT if you are able to cross state lines - Planned Parenthood and other clinics that offer informed consent are creating pop-up sites as an emergency response. Some of these clinics even offer telehealth or virtual appointments - although telehealth soon won't be an option for transmasculine HRT due to the DEA's decision to end telehealth prescriptions. My name is Gabriel, I'm a 28 years old disabled agender person. I have ADHD, BPD, generalized anxiety, chronic depression and untreated PTSD. I am an artist, and I have no other job besides this one, for now.

This is my girlfriend, Olivia. She is 30, agender just like me, disabled just like me. She has BPD as well as untreated PTSD, and she is autistic.

For the last three years, we were surviving thanks to a monthly allowance she was given due to her being disabled and unable to find or keep a job. This allowance has been stopped due to her being judged "not disabled enough" and "capable of finding a job". She isn't. I don't want to give too many details about our life, but she is currently deeply incapacitated and cannot work. She has asked to get her autism diagnosed on a psychiatric level, which is necessary for her to be given the proper care for her issues.

We will now be given an allowance for job seekers. But we have learned today that this allowance, for the next two months, will be much less than it usually is because of complicated details I do not have the right mind to explain right now.

We will be given around 700€ for a month. 1400€ total, for the months of March and April. You can imagine how 1400€ for two months is a ridiculously low amount of money for two people.

I will try to find a tiny job that is compatible with my own struggles. In the meantime, getting help from other sources will really, really come in handy.
