Jin wants to do something spooky, and... it works out. but the scariest thing to you is these feelings that won’t go away

Sometimes autumn is gorgeous

Warm afternoons, golden leaves and frost glittering with the low sun

Other times, it’s like this

“All the spookier,” Jin says, unphased as he pushes open the graveyard gate

The metallic creak wails through the dismal space, and you smile because otherwise you would tremble with fear

The sun hasn’t gone down yet, but it’s firmly hidden behind a bleak, grey cover of clouds

Though not quite raining, or even drizzling, the air is moist and clings to your flimsy jacket as you step on the flattened carpet of dying leaves

It’s a fitting place for them to come to rest, at least

“Why couldn’t we just go trick or treating again?” you whine

You hold back from clinging to the back of his coat, though

That would just be embarrassing

His lips quirk into a low smirk as he eyes the place, and you follow, desperately ignoring the faint dread in your stomach

Skeletons of trees loom between the graves, standing sentinel along the grey path that snakes between dark lawns

“We’re not kids anymore,” he chuckles, and he’s right. It’s been years since you actually went trick or treating, something you always used to do since you were big enough to walk around the block clinging to each other

“I regret letting you plan the Halloween festivities,” you mutter, lacking in bite

He does what you had wanted to all along and tucks your arms securely together, sending you a grin

A smile already tugs your own mouth, and you remember that you did agree to this

“Let’s go that way”

Pressing closer to Jin, you follow the way his arm points – not straight ahead onto the main path but a smaller, less-trodden one around the edge that’s crowded with trees, a jumble of low branches and overgrown bushes

The already dim light diminishes as you venture further

You have to give it to Jin, he must have picked the spookiest part of the graveyard

Each headstone is at least partially covered, moss and spider’s webs creeping over them where they jut from the earth

Some are clearly very old, crumbling and lopsided, the stone having lost any sharp angles, the words faded shadows among pockmarked grey

Somehow, even on the rough undulating ground, you fall into step, weaving through protruding tree roots without breaking your arms

Then Jin stops dead

“Oh my god…”

His fingers are curling around yours when you spot where his eyes rest

In the corner, a tree hunches over a thin grave, only a few brown leaves clinging to its branches

One of the leaves is draped over the stone, however, blocking out the middle of the name

But the script you can see clearly states

KIM SEO…N

Eyes widening comically, you throw Jin’s arm off you and back away

He looks even more alarmed, and you’re forced to bite down your smile

“I knew it!” you cry, raising a shaking arm to point at him “I did kill you that time I demolished you so hard in mario kart!”

His face morphs into indignance quicker than you thought humanly possible

“Yah! How can you joke at a time like this?! And it wasn’t my fault there were so many blue shells!”

“Aww, poor thing,” you coo unapologetically

He turns his pout away from you, marching over to the grave

Your smile does slip slightly as he reaches for the leaf, nervous of what it might say. It would be a weird coincidence…

Air leaves your lungs in a puff as he lifts it aside

KIM SEOHYUN, it says

“Princess Peach lives to die another day!” he cries, victorious

Already rolling your eyes, you turn back to the path, but wait for him to catch up with you

“And die she will,” you promise with a beaming grin

A yelp escapes you as he shoves your shoulder

Your path diverted, you tiptoe to avoid stepping on the graves only to retaliate, leaping across one to latch around Jin, tackling him from behind

Stumbling forwards, he complains rather too loudly in the usual silence of the graveyard, but you only drag your feet with breathless laughter

He stops dead and sighs down at you, twisting his head to see where you hug his middle

Putting on your best innocent expression, you bat your eyes up at him

He merely scoffs

When he pushes at your clasped hands again, you relent, straightening up and allowing him to walk freely

The trees thin out as you circle away from the very edges of the cemetery

“I bet I am somewhere in this place,” Jin pipes up

You shoot him a concerned look

“What? I bet I can find a Kim Seokjin on a gravestone before you can find y/n”

You can’t believe this guy… what kind of challenge…?

On the other hand, you couldn’t possibly let him win

“I’ve died inside enough times from your terrible jokes, Kim Seokjin, my grave must be here somewhere”

And you dash away before he can retaliate

Despite the slightly morbid task at hand, you’re laughing to yourself as you hurry out of the trees towards the middle of the graveyard

Your eyes scan the names on the stones, but your mind is full of Jin and it makes you giddy

He’s racing behind you, you feel it just as much as you can hear his steps

It’s always been like this, the two of you

Simple, childish and inescapable joy that always manages to fill you up when you’re together

The cold air and silly Halloween dare just help to brew the nostalgic feeling of mischief you and Jin cause without fail

The other half to your very chaotic whole

Jin stops, and it catches your eyes, determined not lost the game

He had paused to read something but shakes his head, continues the hunt

Victorious even though you’re no closer to winning, you turn to forge your own path

Only a couple have the same surname as you, not even a trace of your same initials yet

You wind away down another path where the graves are packed in and jumbled together

Between the oppressive clouds converging overhead and the thickening tangle of trees, it’s difficult to read all of them

Forced to slow down, you crouch a little and step onto the overgrown grass to peer at the stones

Right in the corner, you finally spot your initials

Jin hasn’t made a peep yet, so you creep closer, ready to run back triumphant

The surname shifts into the light, and it matches

Before you can see more, a crack cuts through the air

Jolting, you spin around

But the echoing remnants of the sound are rumbling away through the clouds

Thunder

As if you needed any more reminders this was Halloween

You’re yet to take another step when another sound sparks to life, rain splattering against the trees

Only a second later, the cool moisture of raindrops catches up, light but constant as they spray over your face

With a gasp, you abandon all thoughts of your game and start to hurry back the way you came

Even under the trees, you aren’t granted shelter, the rain slipping unerring between the bare branches

As a result it’s not much worse out in the open

But Jin is nowhere to be seen, just grey stone rows behind the murkiness of rain in the air

Only taking a moment to stop and turn, you make another run for it though you aren’t really sure where you’re going

It’s as you dash along a curving path that you find a glow coming towards you just as fast

Staggering to a stop, you come practically chest to chest with Jin

A scream dies in your throat, an unflattering sound coming from your mouth instead

Jin’s smirk makes your face burn, the fear that had begun to creep in morphing quickly into a surge of annoyance at his nonchalance

He’s holding up the lantern you remember from the graveyard entrance, probably smart as the clouds have imposed darkness upon you so early

Water drips from his hair but he doesn’t seem to notice

His smirk fades a little as he leans closer, eyeing you

He leans closer, and you dumbly blink back, the constant assault of rain dissolving to the background

It’s erased by his warm breath on your face anyway

His lips part and you’re holding your breath

“Here I was hoping you had fallen into one of the graves. At least I don’t have to dig you up”

You gape through the swirling emotions, some new wave of defensiveness summoned at the unexpected cheek

Except that’s always what you should expect from Jin, right?

Why had you been waiting for something else?

“I hate you,” you huff

His smirk grows again

“I love you too. Now let’s get out of here”

Taking your arm, he falls into step with you as you suffer through the storm

The arm he slings over your shoulder only presses your sodden clothes against your skin, but you walk closer to him anyway

Piling into the car, you pay no mind to the water you’re no doubt getting on the seats

It feels like so many times before, all the trips home from the movies, or late night snack runs with Jin at the wheel

But in such a familiar place, the roar of his engine thrumming to life below the sudden storm, it’s harder to ignore the way it feels different

But… this is Jin

With so much history between you, the way you know every in and out of him, how could you jeopardise that? Were you just latching on to him because he was familiar?

Recently, you had only been circling back to him

He was safe

Your friend

But isn’t it meant to be electric?

The car stops

Blinking, you find Jin staring over at you with a gentle crease in his brow

“Are you okay? Let’s get inside, yeah?”

Nodding, you follow him back into the rain, scampering right behind him to the door where you huddle together under the small overhang as he pushes the keys into the lock

He gets his shoes off first, shedding his coat to reveal his clothes largely spared from the damage of the storm

Then he’s kicking off his trousers (you’ve seen him in his boxers enough times, it shouldn’t phase you) and disappearing into the apartment

By the time he returns in new pyjama trousers and clutching towels, you’ve peeled off your jacket, which was significantly less waterproof, and the jumper that was equally saturated

At least he can attribute your quiet in the car to the shivers starting to shake you

Clutching your arm, he stares back at you with a comical look of shock

“You’re soaked through!”

He draws back his hand and stares at the water on his palm from your shirt, as if it personally offended him

Which, maybe it did

Then he’s pushing you towards the warmth of his living room, tugging at the freezing fabric and throwing his fluffiest towel over your bare shoulders

“That jacket really is crap,” he’s ranting but you can’t focus over the feel of him chasing the cold away, “you should have borrowed one of mine”

He’s circled around you, finally stopping in front

“Was this all just a ploy to get into my clothes?” he jokes

“You’re literally wearing my jumper right now,” you retort, eyeing the sweater paws that fall over his hands

But you don’t muster the same laugh as usual and he picks up on it

Because of course he does

And just like that, he’s serious again, frowning over you as if trying to find the cause glaring at him

“Hey, everything alright?” he asks

And it’s so gentle, and you’re not sure you can take much more when he steps forward, just enough to be in your space, lifting a hand to stroke your cheek

What should you say now??

Your mind is short-circuiting, and you only manage to stutter out an uncertain noise before it dies in your throat

Seokjin catches the movement, eyes dropping down to your lips which had parted, and you wet them with your tongue, nervous

When he looks up you’re struck with something

You thought you had done everything with Jin, knew him inside out

But he’s never done that before

Never looked down at your lips, never dragged his gaze up again…

Never looked at you like that before

(or he had, just not when you were staring right back)

There’s a second where you both stop

A moment you could take to backpedal faster than you’ve ever done, to ignore this building feeling and pretend nothing ever would have happened

But you must be looking back at him in the exact same way

You know he can read you as well as you can him, and it makes it impossible to step away from this, knowing he may not want to either

It’s gone in a breath as his voice meets your ears

“Can I kiss you?”

The enormity of this collapses

All you can see is your Seokjin, his puffy lips and his wide eyes, voice quiet but so so earnest

You sigh, and it melts into a smile

And you nod

He leans in, and the moment skin touches you realise

It is electric, and how could it not be?

You feel that spark you had feared after, except it’s always been there, hasn’t it? More than a sudden shock, Jin’s electricity was more the constant hum of a cosy heater, you safe place that always welcomed you back

You’ve been falling into each other for so long now it’s all-encompassing

His lips on yours are thrilling, but they aren’t the beginning, not by a long shot

Pressing closer, his hands run over your back, his sweater paws falling away so his hands can run electrifying trails along your back

Just like everything else about him, his lips fit perfectly with yours, teasing and giving and making your head spin

That night finds you nestled together between kisses, the spooky night turning out better than you could have dared imagine

Goes without saying the autumn chills have long been chased away too

• He would try to impress you with his cooking skills since he gets many compliments from it

"Y/n, you should try this. It's really tasty, made my me."

• shows you what it would be like if you were both in a relationship in very subtle ways such as opening the door for you, complimenting you, and joking a lot around you

• Whenever he's alone with you, hanging out together, he'd really flustered around you without his brothers being there to back him up because I mean, look at you!!

• He would get red around you, but it's mostly his ears that would get the most red

• You'd be very concerned for him because he looks he is sick most of the time that he's around you

"Jin, are you okay? You look sick."

"Oh? No its nothing at all, haha"

• Loves to make you laugh with his dad jokes, you're one of the only people who actually find them funny

• of course, over time, he would get back to being his confident self around you and would try to make you flustered here and there

• wants to impress you, so he works a little more

• he doesn't know that he can literally just breathe, and he'd get you a flustered too bhhsb

• the moments when you both have really sincere, deep conversations with one another are the ones he treasures the most

• is surprisingly normal around you

• he wouldn't really supposedly hide the fact that he has a crush on you

• such as hugs and handholding

• he gets super happy whenever he sees you

• like, his heart squeezes in joy whenever he catches you in his sightline and doesn't hesitate to give you a nice squeeze

• when you hug just as much as you hug him, Hoseok just gets giddy about it

• loves dancing with you

• you wanna try this new dance with him? let's go to the studio? you need him to help you with dancing? more than happy to :3

• although he goofs off a lot with you, he would eventually show you his more "serious" side

• honestly, I think he'd be pretty chill seeing you talk with somebody else

Park Jimin [박 지민]

• playfully flirts with you

• you playfully flirt with him back, and he just malfunctions for a moment

• I feel like he'd be really shy around you at first because, well, it's you we're talking about, but once he gets SUPER comfortable with you, get ready for a rollercoaster chsbs

• initates a lot of physical touch with you once you've indicated that you're completely comfortable with that

• I'm talking longgg hugs, cuddles, interlaced handholding and forehead kisses too

• his physical affection is comforting

• so if you're ever feeling down, Jimin will give you a really big squeeze, and everything just seems to be so much better with his touch

• kinda whines when you're not giving him much attention

• which would then lead onto him feeling jealous that you aren't paying him much attention

• gets a little pouty because he'd get so used to being the center of attention and now suddenly that being lost is very... foreign to him

Kim Taehyung

• has that boxy smile on his face whenever he sees you

• you just make him feel so happy and amazing and just miraculous. you don't understand hsbsbs

• loves to spend time with you

• whether it be by listening to music, conversations, or eating together

• will do anything you're doing just for the sake of being with you

• doesn't matter if you're working on your assignments or you're taking a nap. He'll be there.

• randomly daydreams about your future even though you're not together (yet)

• seeing you with another person that steals your attention from him to that person makes him feel... a little jealous

• he tries to reassure himself that it's not like that between you two but the way you're just laughing at their words and looking like you're having one of the best times of your life

• deflates a bit but gains back his happy energy once you've gotten back to him

Jungkook

• blushed a LOT when he first saw you

• probably wasn't thinking straight

• wants to impress you so he works out a little harder, shows you his tricks and just basically does anything he thinks will make you impressed

• gets super comfortable with you, so he knows you wouldn't mind when he goofs off

• play fighting!!

• uses it as a way to show his strength, but wouldn't do it to the point where you are hurt ofcc

• also uses it as a way to get close to you >_<

• another way he'd close to you is by asking you questions about yourself

• they can be quite random-

"What was your favorite memory as a child, and why?"

"That question came out of nowhere..?"

"I just wanna get to know you better, pretty."

❥ namjoon would ABSOLUTELY take you on beautiful walks through the park or cute lil nature walks

❥ and at golden hour the sun would hit his face just right and he’d look otherworldly, you’d smile and he’d ask why but you’d just squeeze his hand tighter

❥ he’d also love if you ask him to take you to the aquarium. he’d probably point out a couple of fish swimming together and say that it’s just like the two of you

jin:

❥ he’d enjoy taking you out to a fancy restaurant, he would absolutely joke that he could do better than the chefs and you joke back that he should apply for a job

❥ it would make him smile if he took you to an amusement park, you’d want to play the games and he’d win a big RJ plushie for you

❥ he’d tightly hold your hand on the roller coaster rides, and grip the handle with his other hand and you’d laugh at him for being so scared

❥ “i wasn’t scared, i was just keeping you safe”

yoongi:

❥ he’d be perfectly content with staying home and watching a movie with you; you’d vote on watching a scary movie and he’d say no. in the end he’d play whatever it is you wanted though

❥ you would cry if he setup a romantic dinner date; candles would cover the room and to top it off he’d play a song he wrote for you

❥ his sweet voice and beautiful guitar would be the only thing that mattered in that moment, you’d hug him tight and thank him for such a perfect night

hobi:

❥ he’d tell you to dress fancy and take you to a dance club

❥ he’d try to teach you some moves but would end up taking your hands in his and would just jump around with you; your smile would light up the room and your laugh would ring in his ears

❥ he’d blush and when the slow songs played, he’d hold you close and spin with you, and would be quick to forgive you when you step on his toes

jimin:

❥ this man would LOVE to spoil you

❥ he’d take you to the fanciest places he knows and would let you pick out whatever you wanted, you’d fight him on paying for some things and he would laugh after you’d see the prices as he hands the clerk his card

❥ “let me buy you something nice too” you’d tell him and he’d agree, you’d hold his hand tighter leading him to the dollar store

❥ 100% would take you to an art museum, he’d bring his camera and take cute pictures of you

❥ the two of you would laugh as you setup a self- timer and run to get a good picture together in time

❥ he’d also love to do a painting date with you

❥ he’d setup everything and you’d be shocked when you got home to see the living room covered with canvases and painting supplies; the two of you would laugh at each others’ attempts at painting each other

❥ you’d hug and kiss and thank him so much and he’d just smile when he surprised you with tickets to your favorite artist

❥ you’d jump up and down and scream the songs, he’d just stand there holding your purse but he loves to see you happy and would do anything for you

seokjin shows affection by doting on you. he loves to cook your favourite meals for you after hard days. he goes grocery shopping with you and buys anything that you randomly throw in the cart. seokjin showers you with compliments from the minute you get up in the morning, and presses kisses across your face to wake you up. he nags you when you’re not taking care of yourself and runs you baths whenever you feel sick. seokjin is the true gentleman, never letting you strain yourself to open a jar and he always holds the door for you and opens your car door without fail. seokjin catches your eye from across the room and winks at you, and he always talks highly of you in social settings to the point where he can’t help but brag about you.
