Do you know which of the voice actors knew each other before prsk? I saw someone say that Mizuki’s and Shiho’s went to the same elementary school before or something and was wondering if more of them knew each other before somehow.
Furirin (Airi) and Hiichan (Mizuki) voice characters in Love Live! Sunshine!! who interacted frequently. They had a focus episode and a centre song together. Tomoriru (Kanade) also voices a Love Live character but from a different generation, although all of them performed at Love Live Fest (not together admittedly). Hiichan and Tomoriru also both voice characters in revstar but I don’t know if the characters ever interact or if they’ve done any shows together.
Imai-san (Akito), Daichan (Tsukasa), and Tokishun (Rui) all voice characters in A3!. I don’t know anything about A3 but I remember hearing somewhere that Daichan and Tokishun were also in the same troupe in that game.
Honchan (Shizuku) voices a minor character in BanG Dream!, while Yukki (Shiho) voices a major character from that franchise. However their characters do not interact, so I doubt they ever did.
Ruirui (Mafuyu) and Minoringo (Ena) knew each other for years before both being cast in proseka, though I'm not entirely sure how they knew each other. I know that Minoringo is also good friends with Imai-san but I do not know if they knew each other prior to proseka.
According to the wiki, multiple seiyuu have voice characters in iDOLMASTER. According to the imas wiki, this list gets longer. imas confuses me there's a lot of seiyuu and i don't entirely know how the whole thing works out but here you go.
From Million Live there's Ueshama (Honami) and Komachi (Nene)
From Cinderlla Girls there's Yukki, Minoringo and Ruirui (oh I'm guessing that might be how they knew each other)
and from SideM there's Tokishun and Itoken (Toya)
as far as I'm aware these all predate proseka. Isobe-san (Saki) also voices a character in imas Shiny Colors but again I don't know anything about imas so not sure if she ever would've been given the opportunity to interact with the others.
also apparently there's multiple seiyuu who have done work on Uma Musume.
yeah in other words I don't know who knows each other personally outside Yukki and Hiichan attending the same school I just know who's done voice work in the same media and might've interacted.

Thinking about Vaste’s voice having the deepness of Sadu in Japanese but the inflection of Maho Nishizumi, Rie Tanaka did such an excellent job with both roles she nails what she goes in for so often (also yes Maho’s voice starts off softer and lighter but as GuP progressed Tanaka solidified how she wanted her to sound so that flat, blunt, distanced inflection is what I learn towards, you really hear this by the end of the TV show into Der Film, yet it keeps this while becoming softer say if she’s speaking to her sister- ideal Vaste inflection)
For fun here’s Maho in the German dub just because I like the “Self assured veteran” tone they gave her too, and Erika stays uptight lmao
*This has nothing to do with the post but Lanzhu speaking Chinese bc I like her so much and I’m glad I’m seeing more multilingual characters lately 😭

Weirdos
League Of Villains x Child!Reader
Word Count - 1.7K
Warnings: References to past child abuse. One mild swear word. Found Family League Of Villains. OC-insert. Italics.
Status - Not Beta Read
A/N: Enjoy... *vaguely gestures* ...this. I've fallen back into an obsession, and this is the only way I cope. Asami Gumi, our protagonist, had a mom who fucking killed her dad (but shh that's sensitive). I love the League so much, and I've been rooting for them since they were introduced, so I thought I might publish this after getting back into My Hero. Anyway, some kind of snippet is coming up so watch for that ig.
Just as she stepped into the base, all eyes snapped to her. Their silence was exactly what Asami expected, and she wanted nothing more than to disappear. She tried tilting the baseball cap upon her head down, so that they couldn't see her face, as she meekly placed the plastic bag on the table.
"Sorry I'm so late, here's the– the food. I'm going to go wash–"
A heavy hand came down onto her white mop of hair and she gulped, tears already welling in her eyes.
A grave voice. "What happened to your face?"
Dabi's voice lowering a whole octave is the scariest thing in the world. Asami was left defenseless, silently begging him not to hit her. Because if he hit her, she will cry.
She hiccuped. "N-nothing..."
"That's also not the jacket you left with earlier! Don't you lie to us." Twice adds from across the room. She's not a liar; why would she lie?
Asami hadn't been staying here for too long, and she didn't believe they cared about her other than when she would go get their food.
"Asami," Kurogiri crosses his arms over his chest with a stern look. "Take the jacket and the hat off. Now."
She can't refuse them when they're all piercing her with their murderous gazes like that. They've been nice enough to keep her here, but they're still villains. Still bad people. She couldn't say they didn't scare her in the slightest. Asami was deathly afraid of what they might do when they see what happened to her.
She slowly, and quite carefully, removed the jacket first. Please don't hit me. The action revealed a few scabbed-over cuts and some bruises on her arms, and the small, circular burn scars on the top of her hands. Those were old. Those weren't important.
When met with silence, she took off the cap too; scrunching her eyes shut and preparing for the worst. More tears came to her eyes yet didn't fall.
"What. Happened?"
Asami flinched at Dabi's harsh question. She avoided his eyes, hands fidgeting idly. No! Don't hit me!
"Answer me, kid."
She picked at a scratch on her palm. "I– I got caught in a– in an attack with Heroes. I got a bit–"
"A bit what!?" Twice slams his hand down on the table as Asa jolts. "Your face has a giant sore! What had hit you?"
"Or who?" Dabi questions, hands clenched into fists at his sides.
Asami backs away, defensive about the whole situation. You're gonna hit me, aren't you? "It– it wasn't on purpose! Something... uh– hit the ground and went flying at me–"
"You could've gotten hurt worse than that!" Dabi booms at her, stepping closer. "Why didn't you block it in time? Or at least get out of the way?"
She felt herself getting smaller and smaller by the second. Don't yell. It's bad. "I was running, and I heard someone screaming behind me and I wasn't– wasn't paying attention."
"Aw, Dabi, you don't have to be so harsh," Toga prances up behind Asami, and gingerly wraps her arms around Asa's quivering shoulders. "You're being scary again, tone it down a notch." Yeah. Scary.
"Yeah, stupid. You're going to OP on the yelling. No one wants to hear your mouth," Shigaraki pipes up, seemingly unbothered by the whole ordeal and instead choosing to focus all his attention on his handheld console.
Dabi whirls to face him. "What'd you say, Vaseline? How about you say that with your chest?"
Shigaraki stands up angrily, yet minding the console he held, "I wonder what burnt chicken ashes tastes like–"
Shut up! I said you're scary when you yell! Shut up!–
"Enough, you two!" Kurogiri booms out, "There are more important matters than your pointless bickering."
"Yeah! Our poor birdy Asa got hurt," Toga coos, rubbing over the purple-pink mark on Asami's face. She winces when Toga's fingers brush over the sore spot, yet Asami can't bring herself to push her away. She's too afraid of what the consequences might be. "Daww... that's gonna leave a huge bruise for weeks." As if it wasn't already bruising.
"I'm gonna destroy whichever Hero who caused it," Dabi turns back to her. "Who was it? Was it Endeavor? Best Jeanist? Mirko? One of them U.A kids??"
"I– I don't know. I didn't see them clearly," she squeaks. He's really going to kill her now.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DIDN'T SEE THEM?!" Blue embers spark from his palms.
NO! DON'T HIT ME! PLEASE!
Asami recoils, scarred hands flying up to protect her face. Although, she stumbled back onto Toga, who catches her with a tiny hum of empathy. For a second, it seemed Dabi's rigid expression softened.
"Hey, hey, take it down a few notches," Twice wraps an arm around Dabi's shoulder. "No need to be so abrasive."
"I'm s-sorry I got hurt, I– I'll try to be more careful next time," All the tears that had built up behind her eyes dribbled down her face. She's mortified. She doesn't want to know what happens if they see her crying.
"Aw, look what you did," Twice exasperatedly motions towards Asami's bowed head. "This is what happens when you're such a tsundere– hiding your feelings all the time."
"Come here, Asami," Kurogiri motions to the empty barstool next to Shigaraki. "Let me take care of your wounds."
"But," she blinks back to clear her vision, "I deserved it, didn't I?" Shouldn't I be in trouble? Why didn't you hit me yet?
"Oh shut up, stop being an emo," Toga pushes Asa towards the chair.
She ends up seated at the bar, finally realizing that her ears and non-injured parts of her face were hot with embarrassment. She continues constricting herself inwards, uncomfortable with her surroundings. Not to mention how perplexed she is.
Shigaraki spares Asami a sideways glance, before mashing his buttons nonchalantly. "That's one hell of a bruise, you're gonna look worse than me for a while."
She can't tell from his tone if he's insulting her, trying to make a joke, or failing miserably at an action of comfort. But someone's tone usually always flew over her head.
Kurogiri places a first aid kit on the counter. "I'll do your face first," he pulls out a few cotton swabs and some kind of disinfectant solution. "It may burn," he gently warns.
Twice leans his arm on the other side of her, "What's with that face, Asami? You look worried."
She paused for a moment, looking down at her feet. You guys are going to hit me. But you haven't yet. I'm scared you'll hit me when I'm not looking and make me cry.
"I'm waiting for you guys to do something to me."
The entire room freezes, sent into stunned silence. The air gets tense, sending her into another heart-racing mini panic. You're gonna hit me now! Don't hit me! I'm sorry!
Twice is the first to interrupt the silence. Even the soft hand he places on Asa's shoulder causes her to jump. "I don't know how things were before you met us, or if that's the kind of impression we give," he shoots a look at Dabi, who simply crosses his arms and looks away, "But that's not how we do things. It was an honest mistake. How could you have known that would happen? We're just worried about something bad happening to you."
So you won't hit me? I don't trust that. People always hit me.
She hesitantly looks up. "You– you guys– you won't?–" Asami starts quivering again, getting nervous. She can't believe them. Her mom told her that, too, but still hit her. She should just shut up.
"We promise. No one is allowed to hurt you under our protection." Kurogiri comforts, swirling a cotton swab in the disinfectant.
She perked up at his words. She still was a tad reticent, but spoke. "You mean, I'm not just some kid you have running around doing your chores? I- I'm not annoying?"
"You make it sounds like you're a stray cat or something," Shigaraki comments. "Though, you are usually quiet, and do require a moderate amount of attention..."
"Of course you're not just 'some kid', silly! You're one of us!" Toga's sweater-pawed hands envelop Asami's torso in a hug. "Dabi's just being a meanie because he doesn't know how to show affection. He should still really apologize though,"
"Yeah, Dabi!" Twice adds with a flourish. "Come and apologize to my poor child!" He grabs Asa's head and forcefully pushes it into his hard chest.
Dabi sighs heavily, like a child forced to apologize; rubbing the back of his neck as the two look at him expectantly. "I shouldn't've yelled at you, kid. I didn't know you'd be scared like that."
Toga quirks her brow smugly at him, and Dabi groans. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay," It's weird being smothered by a group of housemates who might as well be strangers, isn't it? But somehow, it blooms some warmth into Asami's chest. Silently, a few more unshed tears fall down her face, but no one is worried. She's not worried.
"Alright, you get the first bite of grub," Twice eagerly opens up the bags of food and rips open one of the containers, pulling out some disposable chopsticks to feed Asami.
Kurogiri gently blots at her face with his first aid supplies. "Toga, stop wiggling, you're moving Asami!"
Toga's grip around Asa's waist doesn't loosen at all, in fact tightening, as her face snuggles into Asa's back. "Ey, Twice, it's no fair you get to feed Asami first, I wanna do it!"
It's at this moment when she feels like Dabi and Shigaraki are the most normal out of all of them, until they start bickering over a container of noodles and begin destroying things so Kurogiri needs to reprimand them again. Eventually, the others who were off somewhere else return and the chaos kicks up. Even so, among all the prodding, poking, squeezing, fighting, pulling, bickering, and smothering; Asami wonders if this is what family is supposed to feel like. What a real family is supposed to feel like.
A secret smile only she can see tugs at her lips. Nah, they're just a bunch of weirdos.

sooo I’m insane about mako right. well. well ho hum well do you remember the other ball of repressed rage firebending member of team avatar.
yeah so imagine the timeline gets switched up a bit. aang (sorry aang ily but it’s for the plot) dies a lot earlier so the gaang is all in their early thirties late twenties when the krew start to be born. none of the major plot events are going to really change (gaang will be atla white lotus age by canon, almost 60s) and rc has for the most part been established.
boom around ten-fifteen years later they’re all around fourties. the krew is in the ten-fifteen y/o age range—korra’s training in the compound, asami is being groomed into a businessgirl, but yk what that means for my favorite bending brothers? the streets.
the gaang minus aang are still active and about (sokka is alive Because) so it’s zuko’s turn to help toph run the underbelly of rc. she always gripes that she’s doing fine in her old age (she’s like,, 38) and they can just leave her alone with the damned city to rot (she mostly hates her job. only reason she sticks with it is because it’s a sort of backwards way to take care of su and lin*. if the city streets are safe, there’s no reason not to let them off free) but of course the gaang has a rotation anyway. they try to stay sort of in contact after ending a hundred year war together because that’s kind of big.
*by the way sokka is not their dad. they were made in a terrarium because toph Built kids out of boredom and aang gave them bending as a joke and they just. grew. became alive. idk it seems more in character than toph having kids the normal way.
so anyway zuko is out patrolling. he’s on gang-spotting duty, so basically toph has the aging fire lord running around after guys who graffiti gang signs on walls and Politely Asking where their hideout is. today he happens to stumble upon an inter-gang scuffle. it’s pretty typical, and he’s moving to stop it when—boom, lightning and screaming. now, it was mostly thanks to his (and a reformed azula, because she will be getting in here somehow) efforts that lightningbending masters took hold and spread the subbending more commonly, but it’s still not typical to see it in poorer areas. yet there’s one person with a gang rumored to have it—you guessed it, zolt!
so zuko goes chasing after the source of the lightning, thinking toph is gonna be so happy she won’t punch him for a week and keep her griping to a minimum once he brings in one of the biggest thorns on her side.
but it’s not zolt he’s chasing. it’s twelve year old mako, scared shitless that the firelord is chasing him down and nowhere near fast enough to outrun him or hide. none of zolt’s cronies are dumb enough to try and bail him, he knows, but he also doesn’t want to leave bolin waiting on a dead brother.
zuko catches him, baffled that ‘zolt’ is so small. mako says nasty shit (because in best impression of 12 y/o mako voice : royalty. You are the 1% that makes Us like this) trying to wriggle free, revealing himself as definitely not zolt.
Zuko stares at this grimy, angry little twelve year old with old, peeling burn scars (I’ll make a post soon about the scars he definitely has from like,, everything) and fresher lightning scars and is like,, hmm. tiny angry firebending child with scars and likely insurmountable levels of trauma=me as a child who just needed some guidance and turned out fine (not really but it’s the thought that counts)
and then he uses his brain really hard and decides he will give tiny angry firebending child with scars and likely insurmountable levels of trauma guidance. so mako gets picked up by the scruff and is dragged, kicking and screaming, by the firelord to the police station.
toph hears a child shrieking and is immediately like no. get it away. out of my police station NOW. and mako is like YES get me out of her police station NOW. and they have a moment of commiserating mako’s presence in the police station together.
but then zuko is like what if we gave him Guidance. toph says bring that bullshit to katara and gtfo. cue lin and su, annoyed teenagers/young adults around canon krew’s ages for highest potential siblingism. btw the beifong relationships are much better in this. su is immediately like. can we keep him mom please. lin agrees with toph and wants it OUT she just started working here and tenzin’s yapping about kids does not need to follow her to the bullpen.
mako is put into police custody (su drags him around with her and watches him overnight). he wheedles her into finding bolin and becomes much more agreeable when he has his brother to hold in a death grip. when asked to separate, he threatens multiple creative methods of murder.
this got really out of hand but the idea is that katara and sokka side with zuko and they all gang up on toph, who somehow caves and agrees to let zuko give Guidance to tiny angry firebending child with scars and likely insurmountable levels of trauma. she forces bolin on suyin but she doesn’t mind too much, shoving metalbending down his throat.
korra meets them earlier on, finally having some friends her age! they’re all really really weird though so none of them are well adjusted when korra finally runs away to rc (they follow her everywhere). how terrible. but mako and bolin are like 5000x stronger without even trying and they also have money.
all three teenage freaks meet asami (who is immediately endeared by their weird asses), shit goes down, but this time featuring nebulously-father zuko, favorite person-without-title-but-probably-scary-aunt azula definitely mom-adjacent katara, weirduncle sokka, toph who goes to the swamp whenever she wants because lin is basically chief of police already and big sisters lin, su, kya and izumi. also featuring cousin-ish iroh II and long distance/reluctant (respectively) older brothers bumi and tenzin.
I believe both mako and bolin, if possible, would be considerably more batshit insane considering who they were raised by, but also more calculated on mako’s part because azula absolutely got her time in with him. I think katara would’ve taught them, for an absolute worst case scenario, how to handle bloodbending, so they would’ve wiped amon. I think mako, considering azula, definitely wanted the kill with that lightning on amon but, considering azula, knew it would only turn him into a martyr for the equalists to rally behind without exposing him first.
also puppy love makorra in the compound. then korrasami in rc because pretty girl with a bike but then ‘sorry I kind of have a crush on your childhood best friend korra but I’m still in love with you’ ‘WOAH sick really? same lol.’ ‘we should all kiss.’ then makorrasami!!!!
so yeah I totally lost my train of thought but that’s like. generally it(?)

The Avatars and silly little tickle headcanons.
first off, the rankings from most ticklish to least ticklish.
Aang
Wan
Korra
Kyoshi
Yang Chen
Roku and Kuruk
Jetsun used to tickle little Yang Chen all the time. Especially if Chen was being cheeky or just for the point if being silly.
I'd like to think Kuruk would giggle when being tickled, Ummi tickled him just hear it cuz she thought it was cute.
Korrasami got into plenty of tickle fights in the spirit world vacation, many of which Korra lost.
Kavik had only managed to get Yang Chen very few times, and his head almost got blown off mutiple times. (She got him back tenfold, rip Kavik :P)
Rangi is an evil ler, rip Kyoshi :P. Kyoshi's laughter is really snorty when being tickled. (Rangi thinks its adorable)
Wan acts all big so the other avatars jump him in the spirit world but jokes on them, he knows all their weak spots since he's the first avatar. He sees and knows and he will get you if you come after him.
Katara once dragged a finger up Aang's spine and he screeched so loud, birds flew away.
When lee:
Aang's laugh is and was full of squeals, even as an adult. Full on fights you, its a reflex and he doesnt mean it tho.He harbours no shame about being tickles and outwardly admit to liking it and will ask for it. Katara is mostly gentke with him unless he was being cheeky or annoying, she will have him in tears.Toph likes to use soft and light tickles to drive her oppenent insane, Aang being her biggest victim.Worst spot: mid-lower back, especially the sides of the back and near the point that connects your sides to your back.
Yang Chen's go from soft quiet giggles to full on hearty belly laugh, and sometimes she loses control of her airbending through her voice and it shakes the room. If you get her weak spot, her airbending powered scream comes out by accident. If you get her good, she'll go limp but otherwise, prepare to be wrestled. If you tease her, she'll shout at you to shut up. Worst spot: Everywhere below the waist, from hips to toe tips, my girl will just die.
Korra gets into a cuddlly mood after being tickled, especially when its with Asami. She will put up a fight when it matters but other wise she'll just squirm or go limp. It matters when Mako and Bolin try to ambush her or if its a tickle fight. Korra is only rough with Asami gives the ok and when they do, they shake the bed with their tickle fights. (I know what you were you were thinking you naughty wackus bonkus). Naga accidentally tickles Korra all the time. If you roughly tickle her, her laughter will be a loud belly laugh you can hear from miles away but with soft tickles, her laughter turns into hiccupy giggles that Asami loves. Asami loves to tease Korra and Korra blushes hard at that. You cannot tell me the airbender kids havent jumped Korra before and she sometimes lets them win.Worst spots: Tummy, Thighs and Under her knees.
Roku's laughter when tickled is loud cackling or goofy giggle, he will do all in his power to crawl out of your grasp, unless its Ta Min, he lets her get him. Sozin used to get him and wreck him til tears all the time when they were kids. When Fang was smaller, she woukr nuzzle his head into Roku's tum, making Roku laugh. Blushes easily and cannot take teasing. Worst spot: Chest, Hips and Ears.
Wan will straight up scream at you then dissolves into cackles and wheezing.Cocky Lee but crumbles so quick. He's pretty fast tho so its almost harder to catch him than Yang Chen.Worst spot: Ankles and Feet.
Kuruk may be a big burly guy but his laughter when being tickled is soft and giggly first. After time it turns to guffaws, not as loud as Korra tho. Worst spot: Back, Ribs and Knees
Kyoshi secretly also likes being tickled but she'll never admit it on her life. Rangi figured it out quick tho. Loud giggles and snorts. Rangi used it a lot against Kyoshi when they spar or when Rangi was trying to get Kyoshi to take care of herself. Kyoshi has freckles almost everywhere and Rangi loves to kiss and raspberry them. Worst spot: Ribs, Neck, Upper Back and Tummy.
When ler:
Aang is a goofy ler, gentle with all (except with Sokka, Sokka isnt gentle with him either). Laughs with his victim and coos at them, only with Katara will he baby talk.
Wan is quick, swift and evil. Menacingly good at being a ler. His fingers are quick and nimble and is accurately good at finding weak spots that havent been revealed to him. He will get you before you even know what just happened, quick to attack, quick to escape. Knows when someone cant handle rough attacks and will be gentle on that occasion, otherwise, prepare to be on the floor in tears and begging for mercy, a certain avatar learned it the hard way (comment to post on who you think said avatar is).
Korra is almost as goofy a ler as Aang. Loves to tease and baby talk. Cocky like Wan, especially when she's winning a tickle fight.Might be soft with the airbender kids, gets into silly tickle fights with them all the time.
Kyoshi is a gentle ler to Rangi and Rangi only, everyone else suffers her wrath. Teasy asshole.
If she's getting revenge, you cannot escape Yang chen, no matter how far you run, Kavik knows from experience. Soft and light to drive her victim to insanity, Kavik knows from expereince.Whispers, teases into Kavik's ear. However if its just for fun, she is for most part not vicious, however if you are a certain waterbender from Bin-Er named Kavik, she will tickle you to see your smile.
Roku and Sozin got into rough tickle fights all the time when they were little and they tied a lot. Roku is very gentle when it comes to Ta Min.
Kuruk is just as a goofy ler as Aang, and is extremely competetive in tickle fights.
And now: A little treat for the Szeto and Gun fans (idk shit about Salai sorry :[ )
I just have an idea of young Szeto, as a junior officer being tickled by his comrades after a long mission. Also methinks he would be a bratty lee. For the most part, I cant see him involving himself in being tickled, twas a bit of a sourpuss majority of the time.
Gun was pretty hard to tickle, only Mesose has gotten close enough to tickle him and Mesose got it back tenfold. Gun didn't like being tickled after Mesose died tho :[
Please forgive me if anything I've said is inaccurate and do correct me in the comments

📅 March 2015 — 3 months before their call...
📍 PARK ENTERTAINMENT Building
"Oh my god!" Han-na's scream grabs me by the throat, dragging me out of my deep, dark, peaceful hibernation. My body jolts upwards with a groan, my eyes struggling to adjust to the light as I try to blink myself to life.
On the other side of our cramped dorm room, Ha-Joon is also coming to consciousness, her dirty blonde hair clinging to her pillow when she rises as if it's trying to haul her back down. "What the—" Joonie is cut off before she can finish her sentence, another wail from Hanna ringing in our ears.
I'm quick to shove the blanket off my body, jumping off my bed with a huff and dashing out of the room. I hear a soft whine behind me, our maknae reluctantly following my actions and trailing after me.
I slam open the door of Hanna and Nali's shared room, my eyebrows furrowing in confusion when all I'm met with is an equally groggy Nali. She's pushing herself off her mattress, no doubt on her way to finding the source of the scream as well. I turn on my heels and head for the last unexplored dorm, twisting the handle and stifling a laugh when Asami comes into view. She's sprawled out on her bed, a baby blue sleeping mask covering her eyes, and soft snores passing through her lips. She's fast asleep while our leader is possibly being brutally murdered. Shame.
I leave the room with a shake of my head, the two blondes snailing after me down the hall as I follow the sound of our eldest's voice towards the office. My pace increases when I hear the tone of a male voice too. Please be getting beat to a pulp right now, Hanna, because if I walk in on you getting freaky in our shared office, I swear to god—
The creak of the door pulls me out of my submerged mind, and an enormous breath of relief leaves me when all I'm greeted with is an ecstatic leader and our Producer-Director, Park Dae-Jung. Smiles adorned both faces, our director standing tall in black slacks and a navy blue button-up, looking like he was halfway through his day already, whereas I was currently leaning against the door for support. My sisters and I sported similar outfits, pyjama shorts and simple tees—except for Hanna, of course. The early bird was dressed in a cropped singlet, her belly button poking out just above the waistband of the grey sweatpants that coated her long legs.
Relief washed over our huddle of three when our worry for Hanna's safety disappeared. Joonie wastes no time, spinning promptly on her heels and retracing her steps directly back to bed. Her eyes are basically shut as she walks, muttering something about it finally getting to the good part of her dream.
Hanna's "wait!" causes a giggle to bubble in the base of my throat, watching as our youngest stops in her tracks before letting out a muffled cry. "She's gonna make us start practice early! Look at what she's wearing, aiiiiiishhhhh!" She wails before being as dramatic as ever and stamping her sock-covered right foot against the ground.
The cackle that left me was loud, overpowering Nali's breathy laugh as she grabbed the hand of our maknae, hauling her into the office with us. I pulled Joonie towards me, wrapping my arms around her waist, and she leaned her head on my chest as we returned our attention to the slumber-ruining villains in the centre of the room.
I take a quick glance at the clock on the wall behind Hanna, and I almost start crying along with Ha-Joon. It's 6:15; we shouldn't be starting practice for nearly two hours. If she even begins to head towards that room, I will be leaving the group effective immediately.
"No, practice will start as scheduled," she rolls her eyes, "but Dae Jung-nim just surprised us with amazing news!" We stare patiently at the girl shaking like a chihuahua, our director turning towards us with a similar grin. Joonie untangles herself from me, and our tired trio deliver a quick bow to him in greeting.
"We're promoting on Inkigayo!" My mouth dropped as I stared at our leader that towered over us, turning my head to look at the girls standing next to me to see they were sporting similar shocked expressions.
Our director was leaning against the table in the middle of the office with an easy smile, waiting for our reactions. My eyebrows furrowed, "I thought—"
Dae Jung-nim was quick to cut me off, "Times have changed, and we managed to secure you guys a slot. I know you might not want to promote there after they pulled a few of the debut stages, but..."
My sisters and I shook our heads, easing his worries with wide eyes and wider grins, "are you kidding? We would love to!"
I could physically see the relief wash over him as I spoke, and I think he was downplaying how hard it was to get us on the show. Our director has been in the business for many years and acquired a lot of connections throughout his career. We are 1/2 of Park Dae-Jung's remaining active groups. Well, active-ish.
Our male seniors, Poison, last had a group comeback almost two years ago now, most of them pursuing solo music and acting projects. They've been around since 2009 and were hugely influential for us as growing trainees, often mentoring us on their days off. Dae Jung-nim is like our Dad away from home, and while I still have vivid memories of him causing ex-trainees to break down in tears, I've come to see his sweet side. He's a big softie, really.
"I'm glad to hear it, girls. The more opportunities we have like this, the more the world will get to see your talent." He nods, hands clasped together humbly. Hanna is oozing with excitement as she jiggles on the spot whilst my other two sisters and I thank the lofty man with sleepy but ample smiles.
"All the info is here," he taps the thin file perched on the desktop, "and I've given Han-na a brief run-over."
My sisters and I part like the red sea as he pats Hanna on the shoulder before heading towards the office door. He flashes us one last sparkling grin before leaving the room, and Nali is the first to break the silence. "The things I would do for and to that man..." She sighs dreamily, head slumped against the wall to her left, and I swat at her arm teasingly.
"God, I'm so excited!" Our leader chirps, ignoring her roommate's crude remark, "This will be our breakthrough moment!"
Spoiler alert, it wasn't.
Suddenly, Joon brushes past me and treks further into the office towards the desk our promo file is sitting on, and I assume she's just going to peruse through it for a bit. I watch in interest as our youngest ignores the file entirely, her hand stopping over Hanna's phone that rests next to the folder. She taps the screen with purpose, the device blaring a painful 6:20 AM at her before she bites back a snarl and heads for the door.
"So about that early practice—" Joonie cuts off Hanna's teasing with a screech, already halfway down the hall towards her comfy bed. Nali and I share a knowing look, our eyes slowly, so so slowly, shifting towards our leader.
"Just go already."
That was all we needed for the blonde and me to fast-track out the damn door and back to our dorms to salvage the rest of our sleep.
"I'm waking you up at 8 o'clock sharp!" Our leader's voice booms from the room we just left, Nali and I not even reacting as we part ways to our separate dorms.
The sound of Joonie's heavy breathing hits my ears as soon as I enter my room, and I chuckle in astonishment at how she fell back asleep within seconds. Then, suddenly, it all makes sense as I flop onto my bed. The warm, cozy cover hugs me as my head sinks into my soft, cool pillow. As the darkness engulfs me in seconds, all I can think about is how Joonie is a fucking genius.

Jang Han-na is a, if not the prime example of a perfectionist. She believes in planning, lists, sticking to routines and scheduling every waking moment of her life. She is a born leader, my longest friend, and I love the girl to death. I couldn't name a better fit for our mother bear title, truly. But at times like this, I can't help but imagine my hands wrung around her neck. Not in a sexy way. You know when you're trying to stop the air from entering someone's lungs? That type of way.
It's been four days since our director graced us with the delightful news that we're going to be able to promote our latest lead single on Inkigayo. If you told me that right now, we'd be on our sixth hour of rehearsal for the fourth day in a row; I would've told Dae Jung-nim to shove the offer down his freshly pressed slacks.
I love to practice. I really do. I will never take dancing with my sisters for granted. It's always a guaranteed laugh when somebody messes up, and we watch Hanna lose her shit, though it's even better when she's the one who messes up. But this isn't funny anymore. I'm hot. I'm bothered. And I cannot stand to listen to our song play one more goddamn time in this boiling dance practice room.
My eyes lift from the ground in my heaved-over stance, a pained laugh passing through my lips as I see my four members sprawled out in various exhausted positions. Asami, specifically, catches my eye; her limbs are spread out on the floor like a starfish, her jaw to the ceiling as she heaves out heavy, strained breaths and furrowed brows to tie it all together. I almost lose it when our song dares to fade out and is about to replay automatically when Joonie's voice echoes throughout the hot box. "I will break your phone, unnie. I really will." Her threat is acknowledged by the oldest as she rolls over from her spot on the floor with a grunt and crawls over to her phone. Hanna lifts a hand to tap over the screen blindly, a satisfied sigh leaving her when the opening line cuts off mid-sentence before flopping back onto the ground again.
"I'll go get us some water," I offer, standing straight after unbending my knees and heading for the door.
"Are you kidding?" Joonie's voice causes me to turn back to the girls, my hand resting on the doorknob as I shoot her a confused look. "You are not even tired. You're so annoying!" She cries before rolling over on her side, turning to face the wall dramatically as the older members chuckle.
I shake my head at the melodramatic teen, a smile threatening to break through on my lips, "I am tired. Just not as much as you." My teasing results in our maknae attempting to pull off her shoe and launch it at me before she tiredly moans and gives up, falling back with a huff.
I exit the room with an amused giggle, making sure to leave the door open and let the hallway's cooled air pour into the studio.

The warm air of the hand dryer does well to bring some heat to my cold, shaky hands in the bathroom of Inkigayo. Apparently, Joonie has decided that my hands are dry enough and dashes out of the room, the door swinging behind her as she abandons me. Feeling my eyes roll to the back of my head, I take a quick glance at the mirror and tuck in the part of my white blouse that's not sitting right under my belt before following after the hyperactive girl.
"Joonie, hold up," I whine as I push through the bathroom door, seeing her waiting against the wall opposite the toilets.
"I just wanted to get out of there. It smells like thirty different perfumes." She chuckles before pushing off the wall and starts to head in the direction of our members. I only make it a step towards her before a masculine voice joins our conversation.
"Hello. Are you alright?"
I turn my head towards the voice to see two guys in pilot? policeman? uniforms staring at me curiously. "I'm sorry?" I reply, my tone not doing anything to hide my confusion.
The strangled gasp of Joon from behind me reaches my ear before she almost trips over her own feet, jogging to my side. "Oh my annyeonghaseyo!" She splutters once she's next to me. Her head drops into an instant bow, and I catch on quickly, turning back to the two guys before bowing even lower.
They return the gesture with big smiles before the taller one with dirty blonde hair and a dimple I want to poke turns to me, "Did you need something?"
I feel his friend's gaze on me as I tilt slightly to look up at him before responding, "What do you mean?" What a confusing fucking interaction.
"You yelled out my name."
"Oh!" Oh I see. "Sorry, I was calling out to Joonie," I say as I gesture to the blonde on my left.
"His name is Joonie. Namjoon. Namjoon and Jungkook sunbaenim," she informs me in a low, pointed tone.
I blink a few times at my younger sister before turning back to the police officers. "Oh, wow! Bangtan Sonyeondan!" I bow again, "I'm a huge fan!" I add as I rise from the bow, and my eyes meet the brunette's when I lift my head. With an amused smile painted on his lips, he nods in a way that says 'clearly' in the most sarcastic tone you could think of.
"Kim Ha-Joon," she introduces herself politely before gesturing to me, "and this is Hwang Aera. It's great to meet you."
I mean, I am familiar with Bangtan Sonyeondan; I just didn't recognise them instantly. They make great music, and I share a room with Kim Ha-Joon, a boy group fanatic; it's literally impossible to be unfamiliar with most boy groups nowadays because of her. I am, however, more of an Exo fan. I would give up my firstborn for five minutes with Sehun, but that's another conversation.
I remember the two members she obsesses over in this specific group; one being Park Jimin and the other being the tall glass of water in front of her right now. I'm surprised she hasn't fainted or puked yet.
My eyes drag over their outfits quickly and interestedly before they raise to meet Jungkook's. His eyes are naturally wide and curious, and I find myself wanting to keep staring into them. But, seriously, they're so big that it's almost intimidating. I hate that I like that.
I force myself to eventually look away, though he does not do the same as I feel his gaze on me even when I turn to Hajoon while she speaks. "So excited for your performance! We love your music!" She praises, and I nod in agreement even though I couldn't tell you the first letter of the song they're performing if you held a gun to my head.
"Thank you," Namjoon says humbly, "We're excited to see you perform as well." I almost let a snort escape at his words because it's highly unlikely he even knows who we are, let alone our music. Instead, Ha-Joon accepts the polite response with a toothy grin and fiery red cheeks. It's so cute.
Suddenly, my phone buzzes furiously in my hand, and I mutter a soft apology under my breath before looking down at it, trying my hardest to ignore Jungkook's stare that I feel on my every move and trying even harder not to comment on it out loud.
[5:38 pm] HALMEONI: DID YOU GUYS FALL OVER IN THE BATHROOM OR SOMETHING?
[5:38 pm] HALMEONI: IF SO, GET UP RIGHT NOW AND GET BACK HERE.
[5:39 pm] HALMEONI: WE'RE ON SOON.
"Shoot," I mutter before looking up at Joonie, "we have to go before we get killed."
She looks away from Namjoon for what I think is the first time since she laid eyes on him, and I see the faintest hint of a pout on her lips as she nods at me. I turn to the pilots, "I'm really sorry about the confusion. But we have to go before our leader comes to find us, and none of us wants that." I bow again for good measure and watch as Namjoon shakes his head with a chuckle and a dimpled smile.
"Good luck," Jungkook calls as I spin on my heels and head towards a heated Hanna. I grab the arm of my starstruck maknae as I retreat, throwing back a polite 'thank you, you too!' as I drag the girl down the hall with me.
"Thank you SO much!" Joonie yells back, her free arm that isn't in my grasp lifting to give them a big wave. I am too distracted to laugh at her fangirl behaviour, trying to ignore the way the only two goddamn words he spoke during the entire interaction affected me.
Ha-Joon's borderline hyperventilating as we near the backstage area where our members are waiting pulls me out of my head long enough to glance at her and giggle. "You don't even know how shaky I am right now," she gushes, and I look down at my hand on her ghostly, goosebump-covered arm,
"I think I have some sort of idea."
Tumblr media
"Jesus, look at their stage," Asami grumbles aloud as the five of us huddle around the monitors that display the performance of the current act. In this case, it's the Bulletproof Boy Scouts—or whatever I just heard the MC announce. Apparently, they have multiple names, and now I'm confused again.
The rest of us nod in unison, astonishment and a little jealousy, as we stare at the beautiful, very expensive-looking stage decoration through the little monitors. I watch as the spotlights flicker green before the camera zooms into the guy in the centre, and it's no other than Mr Oogly from the hallway incident.
"Ayo, ladies and gentlemen," Jungkook's voice is smooth as he moves confidently, eyes never losing the camera once he finds it. Once he finishes the intro, it cuts to another member, Jimin, if I recall correctly. I glance at Joonie in time to see her eyes widen excitedly when he appears on the screen.
When I look back at the monitor, the rest of the group is running into view, quickly getting into formation before they start dancing to the chorus' instrumental. My eyebrows furrow as they move, taking over the stage like seasoned professionals instead of young rookies. Jesus, they're good.
"What's that one's name, Joonie-yah?" Nali asks wide-eyed as a platinum blonde member makes his way to the middle.
"It's Suga, unnie," Ha-Joon replies instantly, her eyes not leaving the monitor for a split second.
Our youngest is rapping along (or at least trying to rap along) to Suga's part under her breath, and I watch as he casually devours his lines with a cheeky smile and breath control to be desired.
"I gotta make it, gotta, gotta make it,"
The next chorus approaches before I know it, and Jungkook slinks his way to the centre before I have time to register how the fuck someone can actually look like the guy who Joonie just informed me was named V.
"Jjeoreo!" They fall back into their choreo during the chorus, and my eyes float from each member before landing right back in the middle. Jungkook's staring into the camera as he sings his lines, and I shake my head in astonishment. He doesn't miss a beat while simultaneously singing his lines live during the intense chorus choreography.
Ha-Joon's singing along to the music is so cute; I pull her over and link my arm with hers. We're bobbing along to the chorus as we watch the group perform through the monitor with vibrant energy and stamina. I hope at least one person in this entire building was as impressed by our performance as Joonie is with theirs; she's basically shaking.
Their song comes to an end, and the loud screams from the crowd drag my sisters and me out of our haze. "Wow," Hanna breathes as we step back from the monitors while the show cuts back to the MCs.
"They're just insane, aren't they?" Joonie sighs dreamily with her head leaning on my shoulder. I nod in agreement and drag the younger girl along as we follow our leader through the backstage area while she says something about photos and a particular staircase.
"I haven't eaten today; I was scared I'd puke it all up. Apparently, all the food here is free. I'll bring back a bunch for all of us," Asami exclaims before breaking off from the herd and heading towards the cafeteria.
Joonie's ears perk up like a puppy at the mention of food, and it doesn't take long for her to detach from my side and jog over to the Japanese girl. They disappear around a corner and throw back an obedient 'yes mum' to Han-na when she tells them to hurry.
I hear a resounding chorus of chatter get louder behind me, coming from the area near where the five of us were just gathered around the monitors. Right where you dismount the stage. I ignored their cheers of glee and tried to speed up a bit to catch up to Hanna and Nali before a voice stopped me in my tracks.
"Hey! Aera, right?"
I watch my two older sisters get further away on their trek to the stupid fucking staircase, and I'm almost offended. I could be getting abducted right now, and they wouldn't even notice. I spin around to face the voice, and his wide starry eyes catch me off guard again.
Nodding in response, I am about to lean down into a bow once again before he puts up a hand to stop me. Jungkook's smile is cheeky with an undertone of cockiness, abruptly halting my action.
"It's rude not to bow to your sunbaenims, you know," I inform through hooded eyes, my palms resting on the skin of my bare thighs. Suddenly, I wish I went for trousers today.
"Sunbaenim?" His tone is so cheeky, "We debuted barely a year before you."
His response catches me off guard, and I blink a few times, waiting for his confident facade to crack. It doesn't. "How'd you know when we debuted?"
"Big fan." He says simply with a shrug, no doubt referencing my comment from earlier this afternoon in the hallway.
"Hm," I nod with a pursed-lip smile, glancing over his shoulder and seeing his bandmates looking in our direction. They notice my gaze on them and suddenly spin around into a huddle, pretending to have never looked at me to begin with.
A laugh catches in my throat at his members' actions before I look back at Jungkook. "Your performance was really good." I praise, watching as his head tilts ever so slightly at the comment, his teeth poking out of his mouth as he smiles. Like a bunny.
"You think so?"
"Don't say things like that if I don't mean it. You were great." I nod, watching his Adam's apple bob in his throat as he swallows.
"Thank you. You were incredible as well," Jungkook replies politely, and I brush it off as an obliged response.
"Seriously. You were." He assures, almost as if he could tell I didn't believe him.
"Thank you."
I find myself looking at his eyes again. You can learn a lot about someone through their eyes, and his are wide and full. He doesn't even try to hide his emotions displayed in their glossiness, and I don't think he wants to. It protrudes confidence and security, and I admire that.
A few moments pass, and my eyes flicker from him to the members behind him before they return. "I have to go take photos in front of a staircase," I say as his eyebrows raise intriguingly, "I'll let you get back."
He nods wordlessly before patting his back pocket, "Could I—" he finally finishes the phone from his trousers, "grab your number?"
My teeth pull at the inside of my bottom lip as I watch him unlock his phone before looking up at me with wide, hopeful eyes.
"I, uh—" I don't give my number out. To anyone. I lost a lot of friendships in my journey to debut. Work occupied ninety-nine percent of my time and attention. Any relationships I did have prior to Siren basically fizzled out due to our long and odd hours of practice and preparation.
"I won't bother you too much," he smirks, "promise."
My lips purse shut as I take the phone from his grasp before putting my number in his contacts.
"I won't bother you too much." What a fucking liar.

That sound. That stupid beeping sound that wakes Kento up every single morning, making him get up from bed. A sigh leaves his lips as he turns off the alarm, so tempted to hit snooze but he remembers he isn’t the only one that has to get ready.
He gets up from the bed and walks to the bathroom, not an ounce of energy in his body although he just woke up. He turns on the light, no natural light entering the room considering the sun isn’t even out yet. Kento has such a strict and mean boss, making him show up so early to the office. But he’s accepted it as a requirement of being the CEO’s secretary.
The job has its bad things. A grumpy and strict boss, extremely long working hours, and stressful tasks. The job also has great perks. An extremely sexy boss, great pay, and he seems to be respected by everyone at work. Dealing with his boss certainly is something respectable.
They’ve heard a lot about you. Way too much. And it’s never something good. They’ve heard you have quite the temper, and there’s too many stories about it. That once you poured hot coffee over a new hire because she messed up your schedule. Or that once you slapped an employee for arriving a minute late to work. All rumors that haven’t been proven.
But Kento will admit that you do have quite the temper. You’re often yelling, throwing things around the office. Not at him, but he has to dodge them sometimes. You do raise your voice, and it’s hard for you to control yourself, but you never dare to physically assault an employee and often your mean words have nothing to do with the employee personally, but instead the mistake they make.
God, but your temper makes working with you a bit of a nightmare. Kento is scared of messing up because of the repercussions that come afterward. It makes him stress too much, causing him to age faster. He’d thought he would age faster because of his daughter, but no, it’s a woman a couple years older than him that is at fault for his gray hairs (he plucks them out).
Kento washes his face to wake himself up because it feels like he’s sleep-walking with every step he takes. He’s not completely conscious, he just knows he wants to fall asleep again and wake up at noon. He wants to do nothing all day long, but his work doesn’t allow that. And even if his work did allow it, a certain someone in his house wouldn’t.
“Daddy!” He hears a yell that drags out. There’s his other alarm. She knocks on the bathroom door aggressively, until Kento is forced to open it for her. Kento is in charge of waking her up, but somehow she always manages to wake up before him.
“I’m awake, honey. I’m not sleeping in the bathroom.” He confirms, and she nods in response before walking out of the bedroom, back to her own. Only six-years-old, yet she manages to be a hundred times more responsible than him. He once fell asleep on the toilet, and she had to wake him up. He was almost late that one time, and he swore his life was flashing before his eyes.
Kento brushes his teeth before turning on the faucet of the shower. Washing his face is not enough to fully wake him up. But after his shower, he’s fully woken up and ready to go to work.
“Asami, are you changing?!” He yells when he’s out of the shower. She doesn’t say anything, which makes Kento assume that she’s playing with her toys or something along those lines. Sure, she’s responsible but she’s still a child.
Kento puts on his work clothes. He’s wearing that white dress shirt and the green tie combination that you seem to like so much. Especially when he rolls up his sleeves after working for so long. At least you seem to stare at him too much, and give him some looks that certainly aren’t chaste. Those times he wonders what goes through your mind.
When he’s finished putting on clothes, he goes to his daughter’s room. She’s putting on her socks and she looks extremely focused. He clears his throat to not spook her. She turns her head to look at her father, “What do you want for lunch today?”
“I don’t care.” She answers, shrugging. If it were up to her she’d have candy, but it’s not up to her. Last time she answered that, her father told her that she couldn’t have that for lunch. She doesn’t desire anything else to eat.
“I’ll pack last night's leftovers then.” Kento tells her and she nods in response. She doesn’t care much. Last night's dinner was good. If anything, she’ll just trade her lunch with a classmate.
Kento doesn’t worry about breakfast. It’s so early in the morning and his daughter’s school doesn’t start in a while. He typically drops her off at his mother’s house where she eats her breakfast and spends some time with her grandparents before she’s dropped off at school by his mother. Now for himself… Some coffee suffices and keeps him awake and functioning till noon.
His phone rings as he prepares his daughter’s lunchbox. It startles him, but after the initial scare he gets his phone out of his pocket. He has to take a deep breath when he sees the name that’s displayed on the screen. When he exhales, he picks up the phone. “Good morning, ma’am-”
“Took you long enough.” He hears and he has to shut his eyes for a moment. He takes a deep breath. It’s too early for this. He has to maintain his composure. He can’t just snap at his boss although he’s irritated. “I want you in the office in ten minutes.”
“Ma’am, I live twenty minutes away and I have to drop off my daughter-” He begins but he’s cut off by you.
“Make it work.” Are the last words he hears before you hang up on him. He scoffs before chuckling in disbelief. He bites his tongue to not start cursing in the house because Asami is always listening and she picks up words easily.
“Asami, hurry up!” Kento yells, knowing that he can’t waste any time.
“I’m almost done, daddy!”
Tumblr media
“Good morning, ma’am.” Kento walks into the office, holding your coffee in one hand and the agenda in the other. You move your head to look at him. You look him up and down, and he feels too intimidated under your gaze to even put the coffee down on your desk.
“You’re late.” You point out and he slightly nods. There was no way of getting here in ten minutes when he’s twenty minutes away and had to drop off his daughter. His job is a priority but his main priority is his daughter.
“Sorry ma’am, traffic was horrible-” He begins to make up excuses, but you put your pointer up and cut him off.
“Don’t let it happen again, Nanami.” You tell him, not having enough time nor patience to listen to excuses. That lets him know that today you won’t drool over his outfit. “I don’t care if you’re twenty minutes away, if I tell you to be here in ten minutes, you better be here in ten minutes.”
“Next time I’ll speed and risk my life and my daughter’s.” Kento says, and you roll your eyes.
“We’re going to New York next week.” You inform him, which certainly catches him off guard. You stand up from your chair, grabbing your coffee and taking a sip. You begin to walk out of the office, and Kento begins to follow. “I’ve been offered to be on the cover of Forbes, and obviously I’m not turning that down. You have to come with me.”
“Can I bring my daughter with me?” Kento asks, making you click your tongue. You walk to the elevator, and he follows like a lost puppy. You pay him to follow you like a lost puppy.
“If you have someone that can babysit her while we work. Unless she’s old enough to take care of herself.” You answer. Kento holds back a sigh, thinking of contacting his daughter’s mother, although he doubts that’ll work out well. The woman can barely take care of herself.
“Can I bring my parents with me?” Kento proceeds.
“Is this a business trip or a family trip? Invite your siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins while you’re at it.” You mock. You finally enter the elevator and click the first floor, making Kento wonder where you’re going. “If you can find someone in New York that can take care of your daughter then you can bring her with you. Otherwise, no.”
“Where are we going?” Kento changes the topic, hoping that you won’t proceed to call him dumb or anything along those lines. You’ve never actually called him that, but he still wants to avoid it, just in case the rumors are true.
“Read the schedule.” You answer, which makes him open the agenda. Today you have a meeting outside of the hotel. That totally slipped. “It’s an hour away, Nanami. Hopefully we’re not late because of your lack of punctuality.”
“Sorry, ma’am.”
Tumblr media
At noon Kento notices that there’s something off with you. Everyone else does too. Although Kento eats at his desk to not be bothered, no one seems to get the memo. There’s always a small group of people that join him for lunch, although there’s no place for them to sit.
“She’s really moody today, isn’t she?” Lexi asks as she sits on his desk. Kento isn’t annoyed enough to tell her to get off. He simply couldn’t care less. He doesn’t even know where Lexi works, he just knows she comes to bother him almost every lunchtime. Of course, Lexi doesn’t come alone.
“I heard her boyfriend broke up with her.” Yukari shares, which does make Kento raise an eyebrow. That’s certainly something he wasn’t expecting to hear. Last time he heard an update about your relationship, engagement rumors were thrown around. “Poor thing.”
“I only feel bad for you, Kento.” Lexi says, batting her eyelashes as she looks at him. “Can’t imagine how she’s treating you right now.”
“Same as any other day.” Kento keeps it vague. He doesn’t want any more unnecessary rumors to spread. “She’s a really nice boss-”
“Tell your fucking friends to go somewhere else, Nanami. I need you in my office in five minutes.” He’s cut off by you. You were supposed to be eating lunch outside of the office, but clearly your plans changed. You enter your office and slam the door shut.
“She’s uhm-” Kento begins as Lexi and Yukari turn their heads to look at him after your little outburst. “She’s never like this.”
“Whatever you say, baby cakes.” Lexi says as she stands up.
“Bye, Nanami.” Yukari waves at him, giving him a sweet smile before she and Lexi begin to walk to the elevator. Kento sighs as he gets up from his chair. He wants to call the information he just received a rumor, but it isn’t. You were definitely broken up with.
He stands up and walks to your office, not knocking before entering. Which he senses is a mistake the moment he sets a foot in your office. You glare at him for his lack of courtesy, but you don’t scold him.
“Did you book the rooms?” You ask, and Kento hesitantly shakes his head. The trip is next week, he wasn’t planning on doing everything so early. He already has so much work to do. You click your tongue. “Call the hotel in New York and get a suite for tomorrow night.”
“Isn’t that too soon, ma’am?” Kento questions, not wanting to come back into your office to tell you that he couldn’t get you your suite. That usually doesn’t end well so Kento wants to avoid it.
“I’m the owner of the hotel. What are they going to do? Turn me away?” You reply, which Kento can’t argue with. “Be at the airport at five in the morning. Figure out what to do with your daughter because she’s the reason we’re not leaving tonight.”
“Yes, ma’am. Thank you.”
Tumblr media
“Alright, honey. I love you.” Kento kneels down and presses a kiss on his daughter’s forehead. She pouts and crosses her arms. She would’ve preferred staying with anyone else but her mother. “Asami, please behave.”
“Couldn’t I just have stayed with grandma?” She questions, before Kento stands up, a sigh escaping his lips. He has enough to deal with your attitude, he can’t deal with his daughter’s as well. Kento doesn’t know how to explain that she has to spend some time with her mother, even though she doesn’t like the woman that much.
“Asami, she’s your mother.” Kento responds. Asami thinks that because of her mother, their family broke up. Truthfully, Kento wasn’t happy in the marriage either. They both got married because of a little surprise, who six years later is a kindergartener whose first name is Asami. But Asami doesn’t really know all this. “She loves you a lot.”
“She’s boring.” Asami replies, which isn’t a lie. Although it isn’t all because the woman is boring, but rather she doesn’t make the effort to see her daughter either. “Can’t I just stay with grandma? Please?”
“Grandma will take you for the weekend.” Kento informs her. She still isn’t satisfied with this. Kento doesn’t have enough time to deal with this. Rather than dropping her off the previous night, Kento decided to drop her off at almost four in the morning at her mother’s house. “I’ll bring you a doll from New York.”
“Okay!” She agrees. He grabs her hand and knocks on the house’s door. It takes a couple of minutes before his ex-wife opens the door. She smiles at her daughter then at Kento.
“I’ve been expecting you honey!” She manages to excitedly respond, even though it’s so early in the morning.
“Okay.” Asami responds, meeting her mother’s enthusiastic tone with a much more uncaring one. Asami looks at her father one more time before letting go of his hand. She has no option but to stay here. At least her grandma will take her for the weekend. “Bye, daddy.”
“Bye, honey.” Kento waves at his daughter. “I love you, Asami.”
“Love you too, daddy.”
With that, he walks away. He rushes to his car in fear of being late. He can’t imagine being late to a flight. You’d kill him. He gets in his car and he begins his drive to the airport. He’s set on being at least fifteen minutes early.
And just as he planned, he arrived at the airport fifteen minutes early. But when he parks his car, he realizes he has no idea where to go. He didn’t buy any plane tickets. This is his first time traveling with you, and he’s forgotten the plane tickets. You’re going to kill him. Fuck, you’re going to kill him.
He pinches the bridge of his nose before grabbing his phone. He has to inform you before you find out on your own and curse him out in public. He clicks on your contact, his hand begins to shake as he calls you and brings the phone up to his ear. You sure are one scary woman.
“Good morning, ma’am.” You surely can hear the fear in his voice, and it almost makes you laugh.
“Good morning, Nanami. What’s up?” You question. You wonder why he’s calling.
“I’m very sorry but I- I forgot to buy plane tickets.” He’s about to mutter a hundred apologies and plead for his job. The pay is simply too good and he has a daughter to support. But he hears a chuckle coming from you. Either you’re about to lose it or you couldn’t care less– You’re definitely about to lose it.
“Nanami, I have a private jet.” You inform him which nearly makes his eyes pop out of his head. A private jet? Well, he shouldn’t be surprised but he is. You’re filthy rich with hotels all over the world and properties too. He’s seen your credit card statement after a shopping trip, which was around the same amount that he makes yearly.
“Oh- I should’ve known.” He responds with a chuckle.
“You know where to go, right?” You question and Kento hums in response even though he has no idea. He’ll just ask around.
Tumblr media
“Nanami.” You smile brightly at him as you get out of the backseat of your car. Kento finds you dressed your best, as always. You seem to be in a good mood, at least in a better mood than the one you were in yesterday. He assumes that you and your ex-boyfriend made up somehow. Or you found yourself a boy toy. “Was getting here a trouble for you?”
“A bit.” He admits, which makes you slightly pop out your bottom lip. You walk over to him, and he’s shocked to hear the sound of your heels. It’s so early in the morning and you have a long flight ahead of you. You put your hand on his shoulder and pat it.
“I’m sorry, Nanami. Next time I’ll pick you up.” You tell him. He tenses up when you touch him. That’s certainly something that’s never happened before, at least something that he can’t recall. You certainly haven’t been close to him either. “Let’s get in.”
You’re the first one to get into the jet. You greet the crew before you take a seat. Kento sits right across from you, unsure of where else to sit. You don’t complain because you don’t care.
“New York sure sounds exciting, doesn’t it?” You comment and Kento nods in response. He’s never been on a plane before, let alone a private jet. He’s more excited about flying through the air than going to New York. Although from what he’s heard about New York, he’s pretty excited about that too. “You want a mimosa?”
“This early in the morning?” He questions and he hears a laugh from you. You’re certainly in a much better mood than yesterday.
“C’mon. Time isn’t a thing in the air.” You tell him, and he raises a brow.
“We’re still on the ground.” He informs you, making you click your tongue.
“Hey, can we get two mimosas?” You ask someone in the crew, and they nod in response. You then look at Kento, “Who cares about time anyway. It’s night in New York right now.”
“Alright.” Kento chuckles. He can’t deny you a drink. This can technically be a vacation– Even though he’s working. For the first time in six years, he’s separated from his daughter. It seems exciting, as much as he hates to admit it.
“This is going to be a fun trip.” You comment when you get your drinks. You give one to Kento before you begin to sip on your own.
“We’re going there a week early. Why?” Kento asks, feeling comfortable enough to ask. You’re clearly in a good mood so he might as well take advantage of it.
“Hmm… Why not do some business there? It’s a very profitable place.” You tell him, although you’re not there for that. You’re already getting as much money as you get from the place. But you answer his question with your next words, “Plus a perfect place to shop.”
“So we’re going to New York a week early because you want to shop?” He questions and you fight back a smirk as you sip on your drink.
“You can’t complain. It’s a paid vacation.” You respond and he couldn’t agree more with you. He certainly likes that. As much as he loves his daughter, he needs a break every now and then. Almost two weeks child-free is a perfect way to spend his time.
“That’s true, ma’am.” He answers, finally bringing the glass up to his lips. You watch him take a sip, trying his best to make himself comfortable.
“Please don’t call me ma’am. Once again, it’s technically a paid vacation. Call me by my name.” You say, which makes him tense up. It’s supposed to make him comfortable, but it certainly doesn’t. If he lets himself get too comfortable, he’ll certainly make some type of mistake which will lead him to get fired.
“Alright.” He nods before calling you by your last name. It feels awkward when it rolls off his tongue. Whenever he calls you by your last name, miss always comes first. It’s never been just your last name alone.
“That’s good.” You respond. You rarely ever praise him and when you do, it makes him blush. He tries to hide his face when he feels that warmness on his cheeks, but it’s noticeable. You notice it but you don’t say anything about it. “So excited about going to New York. It’s been a while since my last trip there.”
Tumblr media
Your excitement wears off after twelve hours of being in a plane. Sure, you have everything imaginable in there but you’d much rather be on ground. It’s seven in the morning when you land in New York, and while you never want to waste the day by sleeping, today’s very much different for you.
You’re on your way to the hotel, trying your best to not fall asleep in the backseat of the car. Some music plays in the background, and while it should help you stay awake, you’re still almost falling asleep. Kento is almost falling asleep as well, but he has to make sure you’re going the right way to the hotel; although he doesn’t know where the fuck he is. It’s his first time in the place, yet he’s somehow trying to make sure that they’re going the right way.
“We’re almost there.” The chauffeur says. Kento is startled when he feels the weight of your head fall on his shoulder. You refused to sleep on the plane since you weren’t tired, at least that was what you claimed. Kento can’t judge you because he did the same. Except he isn’t going to fall asleep in the car, even though he’s fighting his exhaustion.
“We’re here.” Kento wakes you up, and you gain consciousness. You raise your head and quickly take off your seatbelt. The chauffeur puts the car in parking to take your luggage out of the car.
“I’ll expect you here at seven.” You tell the chauffeur, a yawn escaping your lips. Kento opens the backseat door and he exits the car then he patiently waits for you to get out of the car as well.
You walk to the entrance of the hotel, knowing that they’ve got the luggage. You don’t know who, but you know someone else will bring it in and they will make sure it gets to your room. You walk to the front desk and pull out your ID. You give it to the woman there before she can even properly greet you, or before she can tell you that check-in is after noon.
“Welcome ma’am. We’re glad to have you here.” She says, quickly giving you back your ID. You read the name tag that reads Rachel. She gives you the keycard to your room, and just when you’re about to leave, your secretary walks up to the desk.
“He’s my secretary.” You tell the woman so Kento doesn’t have to waste his time.
“Your secretary?” She asks, and you nod in response. “We only reserved one room under your name, ma’am.”
“Did you book another room under your name?” You look at Kento whose face is turning pink in embarrassment. He ends up shaking his head. “Rachel, are there any available rooms?”
“No, ma’am. We have no rooms ready for him, plus those are booked too.” She answers and you sigh. You can’t just kick a paying customer out because of your secretary’s mistake. You smile at the woman and then look at Kento.
“You’re staying in my suite tonight.” You inform him, and Kento doesn’t know how to respond. His mouth opens but quickly closes a few times before he ends up just following you as you walk towards the elevator, “Ugh I’m so nice. Always doing charity for the poor.”
“Thank you, ma’am.” Kento says as he follows. Kento for sure is surprised that you didn’t just force him to sleep on the streets, but then again you seem to be in a great mood. Maybe because it’s like you said, this is a paid vacation.
You get in the elevator and click the floor of your room, “I expect you to pay for dinner tonight, Nanami. As a thank you.”
“Um- Yes, ma’am.” Kento responds. He’s already thinking of how he’s going to pay. He’s been making payments on this certain card to then cancel it, but he might have to use it tonight. A laugh escapes your lips as he brainstorms, which causes him to awkwardly chuckle. Just then, the elevator doors open and you walk out onto the floor.
“I’m joking.” You reply, which lifts so much worry from Kento’s shoulders. Of course you are. You’re in a great mood, why wouldn’t you be joking. “I’ve been dying to go to this restaurant. Of course I’m paying.”
“I thought you were serious, ma-”
“Stop calling me ma’am.” You say which causes him to apologize. You open the door to the suite, and enter. You’re quick to throw your purse on the couch and plop down, a sigh leaving your lips. “I’m going to take a nap on the bed. You’re free to do whatever you want.”
Kento also planned to take a nap, but he can’t do that while you take up the only bed available. The couch does look comfortable, at least in his sleepy state. He might just sleep there.
Tumblr media
“Hey, Nanami.” You gently tap the man that’s passed out on the couch. He’s snoring very loudly which would’ve disturbed your sleep if you hadn’t been so tired. You continue tapping his chest until he stops snoring.
“Asami, give me five more minutes-” Kento murmurs and you furrow your eyebrows. You continue tapping his chest until he opens his eyes. He quickly realizes you’re not his daughter, and he’s quick to say, “I’m so sorry-”
“Get ready for dinner. We have to get going soon.” You inform him and he nods as he gets up from the couch. He’s either getting old or that couch isn’t great for sleeping. He begins to walk to the bathroom before he realizes that he has no idea where it is, so he comes to a complete stop. “First door by the entrance.”
“Thank you, ma’am.” He responds, and he walks away before you can reprimand him for being so formal. You take a seat on the couch that the man was just snoring on, and pull out your phone from your purse. Ten missed calls from the same person. You roll your eyes when you find that he left voicemails too. Your appetite goes away when you read the messages that he left on your phone. The excitement of finally being in New York and exploring the city goes away.
You shouldn’t give an incompetent man the satisfaction of getting you so worked up, but your mood is truly ruined. You put your phone down on the couch and walk to the room to lay down for just a second. To cool yourself down, then go to dinner.
You came here a week early to forget about him and to let your frustrations out after your breakup. Especially after the final argument you had the previous day– Which now, technically is two days ago. You can’t allow yourself to be bothered over something that happened two days ago. You can’t allow yourself to be bothered over a man that you dumped because he’s not worth your time.
You’re ready. You’re wearing your black valentino dress, your diamond necklace and your diamond earrings. All new, of course. You’re more than physically ready to go out and enjoy the night. Have some dinner with your secretary– A man who you’re definitely attracted to, have some wine, then come back and do whatever the hell you want until you pass out on your bed. You’re more than just physically ready for those plans, but your ex-boyfriend certainly ruined that mood.
“Ma’am.” Kento knocks on the door but it’s pointless because it’s open. He can see you laying on the bed, dreading your life. You sit up to look at him. He immediately recognizes that face and he knows that the once somewhat-cheery mood you were in is now long gone.
“You can go wherever you want. I think I’ll stay.” You tell him, and Kento slightly tilts his head to the side. He wonders why you suddenly changed your mind. It’s not appropriate for him to ask. However, he doesn’t want to leave on his own. He hasn’t looked up any restaurants to go to and he isn’t sure if the place you wanted to go to is good. He also doesn’t know if it’s within his budget.
“Are you sure you don’t want to go? You were pretty excited about going out.” He asks before he takes a seat on the corner of the bed. He’s making himself comfortable and internally he’s praying that’s okay with you.
“I’m not in the mood anymore.” You confess, and Kento wonders what could have possibly happened in the ten minutes he spent getting ready. He knows to not push it further. As much as he loves a bit of gossip every now and then(he denies it), he’s staying in your room and you can decide to kick him out at any moment. So he stays quiet. “Well aren’t you going to ask?”
“I thought it’d be inappropriate to ask.” He responds. You don’t know whether to laugh or roll your eyes. You end up doing both, a chuckle as you roll your eyes.
“You’re staying in my room and you’re sitting on my bed right now. I don’t want to hear about inappropriateness.” You reply, which is something he wasn’t really thinking about.
“What happened?” He finally asks, and an exaggerated sigh leaves your lips. Kento holds back from laughing at your sigh. It’ll just be plain rude to do so, but it takes everything in him not to.
“My ex-boyfriend keeps bugging me.” You share. So the rumor wasn’t just a rumor. Although you weren’t dumped. You dumped him. “Because of him we’re here on our little vacation.”
“Would it be inappropriate if I asked why you two broke up?” He questions and you shake your head. Before he can actually ask, you answer his question.
“Suguru Getou sticks his dick in every woman he sees.” As much shame as it brings you, you share it with your secretary. “He proposed maybe three days ago. That same night he went to the restaurant’s bathroom to fuck someone else.”
“Oh God- That’s awful. I’m sorry.” Kento’s eyes nearly go wide when he hears what happened to you. He definitely understands why you’ve been moodier than usual. “Tonight we can order room service, then tomorrow we can go out.”
“You sure you don’t want to go out?” You ask him, and he hums in response. “Get whatever you want.”
“Will do.” He says as he walks to the hotel’s phone. “What do you want?”
“I don’t care. Just get me whatever.” You answer as you stand up. You walk to the vanity that’s in the room and take a seat while Kento orders whatever he wants. There’s no point in wearing your jewelry since you’re not going out. In the end, it feels uncomfortable while you’re laying down.
The earrings are easy to take off, but you struggle taking off your necklace. You can’t seem to hold on to the clasp. You continue struggling until Kento orders the food that he wants. He hangs up the phone and walks over to you to help you take off your necklace.
“I think the necklace looks cute.” He comments while he attempts to take it off. You feel his fingers subtly touch the back of your neck, making goosebumps spread all over your body. That’s certainly a reaction, you think. He manages to take off the necklace and gives it to you.
“Thank you.” You respond as you take the necklace. “The necklace does look cute, but since we’re not going out there’s no point in wearing it.”
“Are you taking off the dress too?” The moment the question leaves his mouth, he regrets it. That could’ve been worded differently. Very different. He has to apologize, but the words won’t roll off his tongue even though he opens his mouth.
“Would you like to take it off, Nanami?” You question, looking at him through the mirror of the vanity. His cheeks quickly turn pink at your response. It’s not like he’s going to turn you down. “I’m just joking, Nanami.”
“Yeah, I knew that.” He awkwardly chuckles in response. “Um- So I’ll-”
“Do you want to watch a movie?” You cut him off before he can finish his sentence. You stand up and walk over to the bed before taking a seat. You watch Kento intently, as he decides what to do. “Or do you like the idea of taking off my dress better?”
“Hmmm… That’s very inappropriate.” Kento responds, knowing that you just need a rebound. As much as he’d love to fuck you, he doesn’t want to be a rebound. You’ll dump him the moment you get bored, and he’ll lose his job. As much as he wants to, he can’t afford to think with his dick. He still walks over and takes a seat next to you. Even when you’re laughing and giving him that look that makes men weak to their knees.
“Again with the inappropriate talk. Aren’t we past that?” You ask, the tone in your voice  being something that he can’t ignore. He wonders what your ex said that you suddenly changed your mind. Or maybe this was your plan all along. “Am I not your type, Nanami?”
The way you say his last name makes him melt. It always does, but the voice you put on is making it worse for him. But he has to remain professional and composed. That seems easy until your lips go up to his ear, “We both know I am. I’ve seen the way you look at me.”
“We both know that this won’t end well.” He replies, fighting back the urge to give in. You know he’s fighting back. You just have to give him a little push. “Is this about your ex-boyfriend?”
“I just want you because you’re hot, Nanami.” A sensual chuckle leaves your lips which is what breaks him. That front didn’t last long. “Do you really not want me, Nanami?”
“Please, just call me Kento.” He says before his hands cup your face before his lips meet yours. You can feel how passionate he is with the kiss. His tongue quickly enters your mouth and presses against yours.
You grab his hands and move them down to your body. His hands quickly begin to look for the zipper of your dress, while your hands begin to unbutton his shirt. Maybe he should stop because what good is fucking your boss? But he’ll let destiny decide. If room service interrupts him then he shouldn’t do this.
He pulls away from the kiss and begins to kiss down your neck, stopping at certain spots to suck on them. It makes the softest moans leave your lips. Your hands land on the buckle of his belt and begin to undo it. You’re too impatient. You need him so bad.
“So desperate.” Kento comments, pulling away. He stands up, and takes a second to admire the lipstick that has smudged on your face. The straps of your dress are falling to the sides while you lift up your dress, revealing your black lace panties.
“Get on your knees, Kento.” You order, making him click his tongue. Even in bed you’re a bossy little thing. And he wants to be mean yet he gets on his knees for you. He pushes your panties to the side and licks a stripe of your cunt.
He licks your folds before his tongue ends up flicking your clit. Two fingers run through your folds, gathering the slick of your cunt. He gets his fingers wet enough before he pushes them into your cunt.
The fingers that you’ve seen at least a million times are inside of you, and they feel so much better than you imagined. And he curves them just right inside of you, while his tongue works his magic.
Kento simply can’t believe he’s tasting you on his tongue because not even 24 hours ago he was cursing you out in his head. Yes, he’s always thought about fucking you but those were just fantasies that he never thought would come true. Yet now, he’s on his knees, eating you out and fingering you.
“That’s it.” You moan, throwing your head back. Your fingers begin to run through his hair while he begins to suck on your clit. You throw your head back, biting your bottom lip. You don’t know if you’re touch deprived or he’s just doing a good job because your orgasm is quick to build up.
“Fuck-” You say, and Kento can’t wait to hear his name leaves your lips. With that soft whiny voice. Your hips begin to buck and you push his head down. Curses leave your lips as you feel your climax approaching.
“You’re- Doing a great job.” You praise him. One last moan leaves your lips before you reach your orgasm. Kento stops sucking on your clit and pulls his fingers out. They’re covered with your juices so he puts them in his mouth and he licks them clean.
He stands up and completely takes off his shirt before he pulls down his pants and boxers. You smirk as you look at it, your hand wrapping around his cock. You begin to stroke his shaft, your lips kissing the tip.
“As much as I want that, I want you more.” He tells you, pushing your head away. He forces you to lay down on the bed. He puts one leg over his shoulder while he runs his cock through your folds. He waits a minute, giving the world a chance to stop him before he fully does the act.
But the world doesn’t stop him, so he pushes his cock inside you. He hisses when he feels your cunt wrap around him. He has to shut his eyes to not finish right there and then. How pathetic would it be to not even last a minute inside his boss?
“You feel so good.” He comments before he begins to move. He moves slowly, letting you get adjusted to his cock while he gets adjusted to the wonderful feeling of your cunt.
Kento is so much bigger than you expected. His cock is truly perfect, and while you’ve lusted over him at times, you’ve never expected his dick to be this good inside of you. You’ve stuck with Suguru for so long, deciding not to try out your secretary. So many opportunities wasted.
“Kento-” You finally moan his name, and he has to pause his thrusts again to not come so soon. He exhales before he continues his thrusts.
His hands land on your waists, and he holds on to you to steady his thrusts. He’ll make sure to last at least until room service comes– That might be an exaggeration but he has to take advantage of this opportunity. After this, the rest of the trip is going to be so awkward so he has to make this worth it.
“Love your little cunt.” He says. He’s picking up speed with every passing second and the sound of skin smacking is very prominent in the room. “A good little cunt like this one needs to be bred.”
“Oh, God!” You moan louder than you intend. You don’t understand why but that turns you on more. Kento also begins to play with your clit, wanting you to finish before him.
“Is that what you want? For your secretary to impregnate you?” He asks, his question coming out a bit muffled because he bites his bottom lip. Your cunt tightens around him, nearing yet another orgasm.
“Yes! Yes! Knock me up!” You yell. You continue clenching around his cock, closing your eyes as you near your second orgasm of the night. Your legs spasm as you reach your high.
“Gonna make sure to get you pregnant.” Kento continues his thrusts. They become sloppy as he nears his release. God, he doesn’t want this moment to end because everything will be so awkward. You’ll get meaner afterwards for sure.
“Fuck-” He throws his head back, coming to a complete stop. His seed fills you up, and the man doesn’t pull out until he makes sure every drop is inside of you. Once he’s completely finished, he pulls his cock out.
He lays down on the bed, both of you catching your breaths. Neither of you are sure what you’re supposed to say next– It’s fair to say that he’s nervous and if he doesn’t pick out the right words then he’s screwed.
But there’s a knock on the door that saves him.
“Room service!”

Asami sato x earthbender reader
Tumblr media
Asami Sato loved the freedom of riding her motorcycle. It was the one thing that made her feel alive in the bustling city of Republic City. In a world where technology and bending coexisted, she appreciated the simplicity of the open road.
One sunny afternoon, Asami decided to take her motorcycle out for a ride. She had no particular destination in mind, just a need to feel the wind in her hair and the roar of the engine beneath her.
As she reached for her helmet, a knock on her door interrupted her. She opened the door to find her friend, an earth bender named (Y/N), standing there with a helmet in hand.
'Hey Asami!' (Y/N) exclaimed, 'I heard you were taking your bike out for a ride. Mind if I join you?'
Asami's heart skipped a beat at the sight of (Y/N). She had always been drawn towards the down to earth bender, with her easy-going nature and mischievous grin. But she knew better than to act on her feelings. After all, (Y/N) was not only her friend but also from a different bending nation.
But Asami pushed away those thoughts and smiled. 'I'd love the company.' She took the helmet from (Y/N) and they both headed out towards her garage.
(Y/N)'s eyes lit up at the sight of the sleek motorcycle, and Asami couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. She had designed and built it herself, with no help from the Future Industries team.
Once they were both geared up, they hopped on the bike and rode off towards the outskirts of the city. As they zipped past skyscrapers and busy streets, Asami couldn't help but feel a sense of freedom wash over her.
The wind whipped through their hair as they rode along the coastline, with the sun setting in the distance. The atmosphere was serene, and Asami couldn't imagine sharing this moment with anyone else.
As they reached the edge of the city, (Y/N) motioned towards a dirt road leading up to the mountains. Asami hesitated at first, unsure if her bike would be able to handle the rough terrain. But (Y/N) reassured her with a wink and a smirk, and Asami's heart skipped a beat.
They rode along the bumpy trail, with (Y/N)'s hand resting on her shoulder for support. Asami couldn't help but notice the warmth of her touch, and the little butterflies in her stomach at the thought of (Y/N) being so close to her.
Finally, they reached the peak of the mountain, and Asami couldn't believe the breathtaking view in front of her. The city glittered in the distance, with the lights from buildings and cars reflecting on the water. The sunset was painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, making it the perfect backdrop for the moment.
(Y/N) took off their helmets and shook out their hair, letting it flow freely in the wind. Asami was transfixed by their beauty, and she couldn't help but stare.
'Isn't this amazing, Asami?' (Y/N) exclaimed with a big grin on their face.
Asami nodded, unable to find her voice. It wasn't just the view, but also the company that made it special.
They sat on the edge of the cliff, their feet dangling off the edge as they watched the sunset. Asami was lost in her thoughts, trying to find the right words to express what she was feeling. Before she could say anything, (Y/N) turned towards her and said, 'Thanks for bringing me here, Asami. I never knew this city could be so beautiful.'
Asami's heart fluttered at the mention of her name, and she couldn't hold it in any longer. 'I'm glad you enjoyed the ride, (Y/N). I've always loved exploring the city on my motorcycle, but I never knew it could be this special with the right company.'
(Y/N) turned towards her, their eyes filled with curiosity. 'What do you mean?'
Asami took a deep breath and mustered up the courage to confess her feelings. 'I mean, spending time with you makes everything better. You make me feel alive and free, just like this ride.'
(Y/N) smiled, and Asami could feel their heart rate increase as they leaned in closer. Without any hesitation, Asami closed the distance between them and pressed her lips against (Y/N)'s.
It was everything she had hoped for and more. (Y/N) responded with the same passion, and for a moment, it felt like time stood still. Asami's heart was filled with joy and she knew she had made the right decision in confessing her feelings.
As they pulled away, Asami could see the smile on (Y/N)'s face that mirrored her own. (Y/N) leaned in for another kiss, and Asami knew that this ride would be one to remember.
From that day on, Asami and (Y/N) spent many rides together, exploring every corner of Republic City. And every time they took to the open road, Asami was reminded of the magical ride that brought them together and the love that grew between them.

Republic City truly was beautiful in the early morning: all gorgeous golden sunlight, pleasantly cold sea air, and a landscape that never failed to leave you in awe no matter how long you've lived there. And given that most of the population would prefer to sleep in on national holidays, the two of you had pretty much the whole city to yourselves to explore and make your own, even if just for a short while.
Though, Asami's idea of 'making it your own' and 'creating new memories' didn't really give you much of an opportunity to explore the oft forgotten nooks and crannies of the capitol. After all, it's quite hard to admire the scenery when your girlfriend's perfectly manicured fingers are buried in your pussy playing with you in just the right way to have you seeing stars. Or when she's speeding, because you were sure that the speed limit was quite a bit below what was fast enough to not be able to decipher which blurs were buildings and which were plants (but what did you know, Asami was the experienced driver, not you).
Not that you'd ever dream of complaining when she looked so damn pretty in this light: soft lips, painted a flawless flirty red, curled upwards in that bright mischievous smile you fell in love with; peridot green eyes glinting with amusement that never looked away from the road ahead no matter how much you squirmed or moaned, the very corners of their lids crinkled with mirth as she continued to touch you; meticulously styled, black hair falling over one of her shoulders in perfect waves that you longed to run your fingers through, the strands just barely brushing against the lust reddened expanse of her cheeks; one hand casually resting on the steering wheel of the vehicle whilst the other effortlessly toyed with your soaking cunt to make a true mess of the freshly done up leather of the passenger seat (the wonders those hands could do... spirits, if they weren't already inside of you, you knew that by now you'd by downright begging for her to plunge those dextrous digits into your pussy without a care in the world for who saw or heard you).
She was as stunning as she was witty, and even as you became too far gone to give any proper response she continued to tease you. Occasionally allowing her gaze to flit down and away from the street for the briefest of moments to observe her handiwork and comment on it, all the while continuing to relentlessly thrust, and scissor, and crook her fingers inside of you.
Calling you the sweetest pet names whilst spreading her fingers as far as they can go inside of you, stretching you out further and further with every 'sweetie' and 'baby' and 'honey' that slips from those perfect lips. Cheekily mentioning how 'beautiful' the city looks and asking for your input whilst knowing that you're far too distracted by the circling of her thumb against your aching clit to even consider thinking of a response. Groaning in a way that made your pussy throb when she brushed her fingers against your g-spot and felt you soak her hand in response, her voice almost airy as she mentions how 'wet' you are and how much she wants to 'taste it' — but, thankfully for you, she presses on, continuing to use those experienced hands to bring you ever closer to the edge.
Thrusting two, and then three, of those long slender fingers into your entrance and using a mixture of crooking, and scissoring, and sliding to coax more sounds from you (more moans, more groans, more whimpers, and cusses, and pleas, and mindless repetitions of her name). Alternating between using the pad of her thumb and the heel of her hand to stimulate your clit, her own movements getting rougher and more desperate as time went on — as if she wanted to make you climax as much as you wanted to finish on her hand. Clenching her own thighs tightly and rubbing them together when you audibly started to mount your peak, her other hand clutching the steering wheel so tightly that her knuckles were starting to pale from how harsh her grip on it was.
Desperately trying to hold out for as long as she could until something snapped in you both, and you were sent crashing over the edge of orgasm whilst she ran out of patience and hurriedly, dangerously, swerved into the abandoned car park of some random office building, turning off the ignition a moment later. Though you didn’t even notice what she was doing; far too lost in the throes of pleasure to pay much mind to what was going on beyond what you were feeling in that moment, as if the rest of the world ceased to exist to you: too lost to the haziness of your own mind and the drowning out of all coherent thoughts to hear her unbuckling her seatbelt and clumsily fiddling with all of the buttons and zips on her pants; too focused on the white hot pleasure rushing through your veins and the waves of oversensitive gooseflesh that it left in its wake to even process her reaching over your spent body to slowly push your seat down until you were laying flat on your back; too caught up in the bleariness of your vision and the splashes of white that marred even the insides of your eyelids to see her as she straddled your lap with blown out pupils and started to downright beg you to let her taste you or touch you ('anything, baby, please'), her own exposed pussy clearly glistening with slick and aching for your touch and acknowledgement. Not noticing anything beyond your own high until you'd finally come back down to earth and were met with the sight and sound of your, very desperate, very beautiful girlfriend on top of you and pleading for her exhausted partner to touch her.
What a way to start the day.

I’m noticing this trend happening this past decade of actresses who were
-known (at least in fan communities) for a previous live-action role,
-that was either poorly-written for their talents or poorly-received (or both!)
-who then get a resurgence playing a much better-written character in an animated show.
First we got Seychelle Gabriel, who’s most famous for playing two roles within the ATLA franchise, first with Princess Yue from the we-don’t-talk-about-movie
Tumblr media
Then the ATLA creators specifically hired her for the sequel series to portray Asami Sato.
Tumblr media
(we can argue about how well-written Asami was, but there was more there for Gabriel to work with than she was given as Yue, another curse against that movie)
Then we’ve got Karen Fukuhara, underutilized as Katana in the first live-action Suicide Squad movie (aka THIS IS KATANA SHE’S GOT MY BACK)
Tumblr media
Two years later, we got to actually hear her speak more than two lines as Glimmer in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
Tumblr media
Lastly (for this post), poor Katie Leung got so much undeserved backlash for her portrayal of Cho Chang in the Harry Potter movies. (because fans at the time would rather go after an actress of color just doing her job than R*wling or Cloves or any other writer)
Tumblr media
So when I finally started watching Arcane last year, it was to my pleasant surprise to find her listed in the credits as the voice of Caitlyn Kiramman.
Tumblr media
Just something I noticed, how these actresses had a much less rewarding job in their most prominent live-action roles then get something of a resurgence in animation. There’s a lot more to be said about this, especially considering how these are also actresses of color and are far more often to be simultaneously given far fewer interesting roles and to be targets of fan hatred.
Which other actresses do you think fit this trend?

Headcanons being korra childhood bestfriend? Platonic only please...
Ofcourse if you don't mind :)
Of course I don't mind! Here you go, anon <3
Tumblr media
Childhood Best Friends | Platonic!Korra x Reader
Tumblr media
╰┈➤  PLOT: Just some simple headcanons and a bit of a story for Korra as your childhood bestie <33
╰┈➤  WARNINGS: Not Proofread, Kinda Long, Might Need A Part 2
⍣ ೋ Enjoy!⍣ ೋ
Tumblr media
- Being childhood friends with Korra definitely means your families were friends and thus, by circumstance, you two are friends too.
BACKSTORY
- It started off when you were babies, then you grew older and older and can’t remember a time without each other.
- You two would constantly run around the village together, have snowball fights, and have countless amounts of sleepovers. You guys were inseparable… that was until she had to be more responsible with her avatar duties.
- She was always training. Always. Sure, as a kid she would always do something to show off her special avatar abilities, but around the pre-teen age, she trained harder than before.
- You weren’t too ecstatic with all the training because it meant you two can’t hang out as much, but you understood it was needed.
- Slowly, yet surely, you two began to drift apart.
- She was training more and you were seeing her less.
- It went days, weeks, months, and now she’s in Republic City and you haven’t seen her in years.
- On one glorious day though, you were finally accepted to go intern at Sato Industries. Years of sending letters and trinkets and waiting FINALLY paid off.
You packed your stuff, said goodbye to family and friends, kissed your pets goodbye, and you were off to Republic City to start your new career in engineering.
You would be lying to yourself if you said you didn’t think of the possibility of stumbling into Korra while you stayed here.
Was it so bad to want to see the tall girl with the long ponytails and baby blue attire? No. You didn’t think so.
As you were sorting through papers in the Sato office, you heard a familiar voice.
“Oh! Yeah, I’ll get those for you. They’re in here.”
You sigh from relief. It was just Asami talking to someone.
“Okay! Can I come with you?” “Sure!”
Ah, wait a second. Who was that second voice? They also sounded vaguely familiar. You couldn’t pinpoint where you heard that voice from.
Continuing to sort through papers and signing things off your checklist, you heard the big and creaky oak door open and then clicks of heels and muted shuffles of other shoes.
You looked up to send a warm smile to Asami, but was shocked to see someone that could be considered your family.
“Korra?”
“Y/n!”
-
PRESENT DAY
- It’s pretty safe to say Korra is the friend that will tackle you whenever you see each other. She can be a pretty touchy person when it comes to those close to her.
- She would tackle you if you haven’t seen each other in a while, tackle you when you did a good job on something, or tackle you just to mess with you.
- Can you blame her though? She hasn’t seen you in years and never knew how much time she had with you because of her avatar duties and your internship ending.
- She wanted to make up for lost time with her tackles.
- You do get a ton of bruises though.
“O MY SPIRITS GOOD JOB!”
*tackle*
“KORRA!”
- In addition to tackling and being excitable around you, Korra is always the one to get you two in trouble.
- She hasn’t had someone from her childhood visit her in Republic City before. Hell, she hasn’t had anyone come up and the fact that you’re staying because you’re working was butter on her bread roll.
“Hey, so, I was thinking—“ “No. You got me in trouble with Tenzin last time.” “Oh, come on! That was harmless fun. Plus, you won’t get in trouble this time!~” “… fine.”
- Granted, no matter what she says, you get in trouble somehow. That doesn’t stop her though.
- After getting scolded, she would look at you with that stupid smirk on her face.
“Ah dammit. Again?”
- Like you used to do when you were kids, Korra would invite you to sleepovers. Except, now it’s more so she’s forcing you to sleepover.
- You’re always like, Korra nooo, I have to workkk, yada yada. She’s not hearing ANY of it.
- She will drag you to her room and then tell Asami to give you a pass since it’s her company anyways.
- Asami will refuse for a little, saying it wouldn’t be right to excuse you because a cute girl (Korra) asked her to, but at the same time, you never take breaks from work and she knows the importance of taking breaks and allowing yourself to have fun so, sure!
- Sleepovers consists of gossiping, eating, cuddling each other and Naga, and maybe talking about people that caught each other’s eye.
- For Korra, she tells you this whole back story about Mako and Bolin and how they had crushes on her and how she only liked Mako. But then some drama happened…? You can’t really remember. It was super late when Korra was telling you this but she had all the energy in the WORLD.
- And if you thought the brother triangle was confusing, wait until she tells you about the Mako, Asami, and her triangle. Well, the BEGINNING.
- You didn’t know she had so much romance drama here. You thought she was supposed to be training. What the HELL was she doing getting all these people’s hearts and attention.
“So… have you done any training at all?”
“What? Yeah, I have.”
“You sure? Because this seems you have a ton of time of your hands with all this romance I’m hearing.”
“Y/N.”
“Just the facts.”
- Speaking of training, Korra will TOTALLY drag you to her training practices whenever you’re free from working.
- She likes having you there, just keeping her company.
- Plus... it’s nice to have someone to make funny faces to when Tenzin begins to make her pull her hair out.
- She’ll roll her eyes to you or deadpan and you’ll try so hard not to laugh.
- Tenzin never liked the idea of having someone watch Korra and him as they go through their lessons together (he always thought you were gonna distract her), so, you had to be on your best behavior when he was around so you wouldn’t get kicked out.
- If you like working out or sparring, Korra will totally “fight” you for practice. She’ll restrict herself from bending to keep her basic combat skills up to level or sometimes she’ll use her bending to make your workout more challenging.
“KORRA!! Can you watch it with the water ropes? You almost tripped me!”
She shrugs. “Gotta keep you on your toes, my friend.”
- If you don’t work out, Korra will have you help her with her workouts instead.
- Maybe you’ll set up water barrels or grab dirt discs.
- Or perhaps you organize sparring times with her and Bolin! They didn’t mind the friendly competition.
- All in all, having Korra as your childhood best friend is just like having a sister.
- You’re not sure if she’s the younger or older one though...
A/N: ACK SORRY. HAD TO CUT THIS SHORT! I’LL MAKE ANOTHER GOING IN DEPTH AB HER BEING LIKE A SISTER. HOPE YOU ENJOYED!

bro i was just casually watching LoK and it’s Iroh’s first appearance and (oh yeah confession time I’ve never actually watched LoK just ATLA but i’m on episode 10 rn)
and I somehow did not know that Dante Basco voiced him
so when I tell you the UTTER CONFUSION when he first spoke-
i was like ZUKO WHAT-
anyway it’s also fun looking at the end credits. Hiroshi (Asami’s father)? Voiced by DDK, aka our current fatherlord in the live action ATLA. Ikki? Voiced by Darcy Rose Byrnes (which I guess isn’t exciting to LoK fans but she voiced Princess Amber in Sofia the First aka my childhood, and also Maricella in Spirit Riding Free). Anyways that’s cool.

Zhu Li Moon agreeing to marry her unscrupulous employer Iknik Varrick wasn’t even the worst part of the wedding. Nor was it being dogged by Prince Wu, who insisted on telling Iroh again all about his heroic actions during the Battle of Republic City and how much more useful they’d been than anything the United Forces had managed to do. As if everyone from here to Ba Sing Se wasn’t already aware. Nor was it the fact that Iroh had come alone to an event intended to celebrate the happy unions of couples. He’d only been in the United Republic a little over a month and had spent what felt like all of his waking hours since then at work. Though the United Forces may not have seen action in the battle with General Kuvira’s forces there was seemingly no end to the demand for Iroh’s troops now that half of Republic City was in ruins. It wasn’t so unusual then that he hadn’t had time to identify a date. Even if wandering around the celebration solo was a tad lonely.
No; the worst part of the wedding was Avatar Korra.
He’d only heard the comment by chance. Iroh had been walking past one of Air Temple Island’s many pavilions when he’d heard voices on the other side of a hedge. The first he recognized instantly. Pema had been a close family friend for as long as she’d been married to Tenzin; Iroh had even stayed with them when he’d first arrived in the city before he’d found his own long-term accommodations.
“Oh, there must be somebody here that strikes your fancy,” she said in a teasing tone. “You’re both such pretty girls. Not that looks are everything. But it’s been a hard year for everybody. You two deserve a little love and fun now that we have peace again.”
“Well, maybe there’s someone.” Korra’s voice.
“We’re still figuring it out.” Iroh didn’t recognize the second woman as easily, but she sounded familiar. Asami Sato, maybe?
“You’re not fighting over Mako again, are you?” asked Pema, confirming his guess.
A laugh. “Definitely not,” Asami said.
“Hmm. You’re going to make me guess then. It sounds like someone you both know. Bolin is taken. There aren’t that many other young folks here. Wu doesn’t seem like either of your type.”
“No way,” said Korra. “And you don’t need to guess. We’ll tell you another time.”
“Wait, I’ve got it! That man from the band. The one who used to be a pro-bender.”
Someone made a retching nose. Iroh smiled. He didn’t mean to be eavesdropping, but it was also nice to know he wasn’t the only one who’d come to the wedding alone. That was, until…
“General Iroh.”
Iroh’s breath caught in his throat. Him?
“Oh gosh, never,” said Korra. “You couldn’t pay me enough.”
“Really?” Asami’s voice. “I like General Iroh. I mean, not like that, but you know. He always seemed nice.”
“That’s because you don’t know him,” Korra replied. “Don’t get me wrong, I like Iroh, too, and he’s real hot when he wants to be, but Asami he’s got to be the most boring man on the planet. Trust me, I’ve known him since I was a kid. All he likes are books and maps and dead languages and fusty old museum exhibits and going to work. I don’t think he’s even been to a pro-bending match. He’s nice to look at but sheesh, the most interesting thing about him is his collection of teas. Which he organizes by region in his cabinet.”
“That’s a little harsh,” said Pema. “I like to think of Iroh as more of an old spirit in a young man’s body. Tenzin was the same way at his age. It’s endearing.”
“Well, you’re welcome to him,” said Korra, but Iroh was already walking away. He’d heard enough.

Anastasia (Umeda Arts, 2023)
Tumblr media
I’m flattered that the overwhelming response to my poll was to bring back reviews :D Since I posted that, Takarazuka has unfortunately been involved in a terrible tragedy (additional information here). I may review the Takarazuka performances I was able to see at a later date, but at the moment I’m going to take some space from doing so.
In the meantime, a very bright spot in a long-awaited trip otherwise filled with multiple bouts of shocking news was the Broadway musical Anastasia, featuring Asami Hikaru (my ご贔屓, kamioshi, bias to end all biases, for those who joined during COVID and somehow missed this) amidst a rather star-studded cast. Getting to see Anastasia was quite special, not only because it’s been 4 1/2 years since I was last able to travel to Japan and see Komu, but also because I HAD tickets to the original Spring 2020 run before, well, you know (not to mention the ruined plans to see fave #2 as the same role in the tkz version). On top of that, it was good.
The Broadway version of Anastasia follows two con men in post-revolution Russia, Dmitri and Vlad, who, amidst rumors that Anastasia Romanov has somehow survived the execution of the rest of the royal family, accidentally find the real one while auditioning actresses to pretend to be her for reward money.
Given that my bias to end all biases taidan’d 17 years ago, I’ve seen my fair share of Japanese theater outside of Takarazuka in my quest to spend as much time in her presence as humanly possible. Usually, I find the non-OG cast members (especially men!!) unimpressive to the point of superfluousness. Imagine my shock when I found myself raising my opera glasses when Komu wasn’t even on stage.
Ranking!!
Anya: Aoi Wakana / Kinoshita Haruka
Tumblr media
Anya is a poor street sweeper with amnesia who has a feeling SOMEONE is waiting for her in Paris (turns out it’s her grandmother, the dowager empress). I was supposed to see each actress twice, but due to the flu making its rounds through the cast, I ended up seeing Wakana three times and Haruka only once… which is unfortunate, because Haruka is an absolute powerhouse, and Wakana is a TV actress. The cast lineup for my first of four viewings was absolutely flawless, and I wish it had been the finale instead (especially because I was in shock from Sora taidan dropping like 3 hours prior to curtain). Haruka has a Broadway-quality voice, and her acting not only made sense, but also lacked that peculiar anime-like delivery that most of the Japanese actors I’ve seen have in spades (IYKYK). Although perhaps she returned from flu recovery too quickly and didn’t have her whole voice, Wakana’s singing wasn’t really up to the challenge of the role; all of Anya’s big solo’s were rendered anticlimactic by very flat long notes. I also found her acting to be over the top and desperate, whereas Haruka’s was quite nuanced.
Dmitri: Kaiho Naoto / Aiba Hiroki / Utsumi Akiyoshi
Tumblr media
Dmitri is the romantic lead, something of a street urchin who starts off by hatching a moneymaking scheme to produce a fake Anastasia, and ultimately gives it all up after falling in love with Anya. I got to see Kaiho and Aiba, and to be honest, the only reason I’m not mad I had to see Aiba once is because that day Kaiho Naoto was Gleb. I know I am very late to this party, but this was the first time I got to see Kaiho Naoto live, and hooooooooooo boy. That man’s voice gave me chills, he acts like a normal person and not a cartoon, and his facial expressions are SO dynamic. His fans in the FIRST ROW had their opera glasses up, and now I take back making fun of them in my head. Incredible casting choice for Dmitri; he did an amazing job going through the full range of emotions and showing character growth, plus he looked so good in that scruffy little outfit. Tbh, marry me (Aiba on the other hand was an anime boy made flesh and blood and I can’t say I cared for it).
Vlad: Osumi Kenya / Ishikawa Zen
Tumblr media
Vlad is Dmitri’s old man friend, a former aristocrat and adulterous lover to Lily. This one is slightly less cut and dry because both actors had their merits, but alas, I’m a big Ishikawa Zen fan. Osumi Kenya is a dancer and Zen is not, and that was quite apparent in any scene with choreography. Other than that, I quite preferred Zen’s knockout voice, nuanced acting, and overflowing kindness. He’s irl bffs with Komu, so I found his Vlad’s chemistry with Lily to be more compelling; but he also integrated himself seamlessly into each cast, despite that I imagine it’s tricky to get the best possible rapport going when the roles are changing all the time. Osumi definitely gave his Vlad quite a bit of enjoyable energy and unique flair, but ultimately, I thought his Vlad was a bit over the top (he’d be a huge hit in a kids’ show), and he seemed to be acting next to rather than with the rest of the cast.
Gleb: Kaiho Naoto / Douchin Yoshikuni / Tashiro Mario
Tumblr media
Gleb, a Bolshevik general trying to fill the shoes of his father who relished executing the Romanov family, is the villain of the show. I was SUPPOSED to see all three Glebs, and I’m quite sad I didn’t, but the flu took Tashiro Mario. I ended up seeing Douchin three times and Kaiho once. This is REALLY HARD, and it’s likely impossible to separate out my feelings toward Kaiho’s Gleb in isolation, because Dmitri, without Kaiho in the role, was not compelling, so the overall impact of the show was less on the not-Douchin day. Kaiho showed up again with the voice that gives you chills, and while his performance throughout most of the show was a bit more low-key, his final scene, in which he attempts to get Anya to admit she’s playing around and return to Russia lest he be forced to shoot her on the spot if she is in fact the real Anastasia, was ABSOLUTELY FUCKING UNHINGED (spit flying everywhere, no wonder everyone got sick). Douchin, however, also has quite a powerful voice, and I think overall he did a better job of coming off as creepy and weird. He was awkward in kind of an is-this-guy-ok way, his barely concealed feelings for Anya were both clearer and more unsettling, and he felt believably indoctrinated into an ideology vs. just this is the villain because we said he’s the villain. His slick, jet-black hair and choice to wear light blue colored contacts also really enhanced the evil image. I really regret not getting to see Tashiro Mario, but I think my ever so slight preference here is Douchin just because his presence balanced the rest of the cast.
Lily: Asami Hikaru / Marcia / Horiuchi Keiko
Tumblr media
Lily is the dowager empress's lady-in-waiting, a former countess who, in her younger days, cheated on her boring husband with Vlad and is currently tending to the dowager empress in refugee-laden Paris. LBR, I didn’t fly across the world to see the other two (although 3 or so days into my trip there was a SCARE where Komu was announced out with an injury, and I thought I might have to… but she recovered in time for my first show!). Ohhhh it was so nice, I missed her more than my COVID-era complacence led me to believe. Lily was a very fun and pleasant Komu role for me. Homegirl is 51 now (don’t talk to me) and fresh taidansha like Tamaki Ryou are getting the heroines she played a decade and a half ago, but Lily isn’t exactly someone’s mom either. She’s funny, and sassy, and wears sick costumes, and has DANCE NUMBERS! Which she did without looking injured at all! With the exception of like 20 seconds in the prologue, Lily does not appear at all until Act 2, but Act 2 is very juicy. I think I liked the look-Vlad’s-back tango even better than her piano-top nightclub solo, but both were utterly delightful. She also has great chemistry with her Yukigumi top senpai Asami Rei, comfortable yet reverent (just like in real life!). I juuuUUUUuuUUUUuuuSsstttt wish they would lower the key for her… just a little… as a treat.........
Dowager Empress Maria: Asami Rei (more like Asami SLAY)
Tumblr media
Y’all… seeing Asami Rei live has BEEN on my bucket list, and the experience did not disappoint. Her voice may be going, but it’s completely age appropriate, and she could have done literally anything up on that stage without it ruining the impact of her presence. I legit inadvertently gasped "mother" into my mask when she made her appearance in a black and silver bejeweled gown to attend the ballet… serving boatloads of charisma uniqueness nerve and talent at 73, to say the least.
The ensemble was also a force and the songs were expertly directed, giving the whole show a stunning sound that has been rare in my experience with Japanese musicals (part vocal talent, part book made for Broadway). The play-within-a-play scene at the ballet was genuinely impressive (it's been a while since I've seen a man jump that high). All in all, a treat to watch!

Konohagakure, 10/18 Year 49
As early morning light flooded in the unfurled curtains of the hospital room Biwako attempted to relax while her unborn child was making her morning particularly painful. Late last night they had come to the hospital in a hurry, Biwako barely able to stand from her sudden labor pains and intense panic. Surely it wasn’t supposed to hurt this much? The midwife said this birth would be much easier the second time around. Hiruzen rushed them to the hospital immediately and made sure his wife was as comfortable as possible before assuring her he would return after clearing his schedule for the day with the council. He had left at 5AM and it was 6:30AM now. Biwako didn’t like being left alone while so close to birth but was also thankful to have this short time to speak with her son before he would enter this shinobi world. Caressing her stomach she began speaking softly to her swollen bump,
“Asuma, in just a short time, at least I hope it’s just a short time. You will enter this world and join the Sarutobi clan. Our family is strong and loving, we possess the will of fire and bear it like a badge of honor and I know you will too. It is a dangerous world we live in, unfair and unkind, but shinobi like your father help make it a better place. Shinobi like you one day. Your father and brother are very excited to meet you, they talk to you so much I’m sure you’ll recognize their voices as soon as you hear them. I am so excited to meet you, I can’t wait to see what you’ll look like, though I’ll be happy as long as you’re healthy. That being said we are ready for you any time, so feel free to come as soon as you’d like.”
Letting out a chuckle at her last words she jumped in her hospital bed as her husband’s voice resonated in the quiet room, “That was beautiful, hanii. Much like you. I hope my absence wasn’t too long, I did try to be quick but you know the Council.” Hiruzen made his way to his wife’s bedside and sat in the chair next to it, placing one hand on her stomach and his other in her waiting palm. “You’re fine, anata. We just had a little chat about someone needing to hurry up in there.” Poking at her stomach as she said someone. Chuckling as well he leaned forward to place a small kiss on her rounded stomach, soon to be flat once their child graced them with his presence.
He could admit he would miss seeing her this way, round and glowing with his child in her womb. His wife mainly in dresses the last few months because pants have just been too much work. Not only would he miss her figure but he had mourned the loss of a possible daughter. It was best for Biwako that this be her last pregnancy, the last 36 weeks had taken a large toll on her health. While she was expected to make a full recovery, as long as the birth went well, they prioritized her life and the life they can give the children they already have over the possibility of a daughter in the future.
Being broken out of his thought by a large gasp from his wife as she squeezed his hand mercilessly he felt sorry for her. He couldn’t imagine the pain child birth was, though he hoped the midwife was correct and the process went smoother this time. “Anata, I need the doctor. It’s time.” She let out another moan of pain as Hiruzen stood at her words and pulled away from her to call for help. Dashing towards the hallway he called for help before returning to his wife’s side, placing a chaste kiss on her forehead he tried to remember everything he had done for his wife during the birth of their first son. As he heard the doctor entering the room he connected eyes with his wife and through her pain they both grinned in excitement. Here comes their son.
At exactly 8:00AM on October 18th a baby, not an Asuma but an Asami, was born to the Sarutobi clan. Completely unexpected and taking the doctors by surprise considering she had evaded months of ultrasounds, she was born happy and healthy. Exactly 8 hours after that, at 4:00PM, the Asuma they were expecting was then born. It was no wonder this pregnancy had been so much more difficult, she had an extra seven pounds and eight ounces in her stomach. Biwako was overjoyed at their wondrous news, a boy and a girl! Though her son taking an extra eight hours to arrive was not very joyful. Never had they expected twins and the prospect was a little daunting to the two. Nevertheless they had everything they needed in their three children and each other.
Konohagakure 10/19 Year 49
It was the day after the twins had been born and the Sarutobis decided they were ready for visitors. Calling on his team first he was excited to share the wonderful news, Tsunade had hoped Biwako was having a girl and was slightly disappointed when she found out they were having another son. Well, slightly was an understatement. After Jiraiya had loudly declared she had lost yet another bet and would need to pay up, she broke the table they had been sitting at and threw Jiraiya out of the restaurant. That had been a hefty bill for the Hokage and took quite some apologizing on his part. Orochimaru thought the encounter quite comical though and it was nice to see his pupil smile.
Being broken out of his thoughts by a loud knock followed by his young kunoichi hissing “Shh! We’re in a hospital!” and an even louder slapping noise he knew his students had arrived. Grinning to his wife who held a very quiet, but wide awake, Asami in her arms he gestured to the door. Biwako nodded with an encouraging smile, readjusting her daughter slightly to be sitting up. Standing to open the hospital door room with Asuma in his arms he took a deep breath before embracing the chaos.
“Would you quit hitting me, Tsunade! You and your brute strength!” Jiraiya groaned as he rubbed the back of his head. At that Orochimaru snickered, Tsunade wouldn’t take the slight lying down. The woman in mention narrowed her eyes at his words and was ready to verbally retaliate when the door opened and Sarutobi Sensei stood before them. All three students fell quiet as they peered at the baby in his arms, though Orochimaru tried to quiet his interest externally. “Thank you all for coming on such short notice, I wanted you to be the first we shared the good news with.” Hiruzen addressed his students before gesturing for them to enter the room behind him. A small smile on his face at the surprise waiting for them beyond the threshold.
A small gasp filled the room from Tsunade at the sight of Biwako sitting in her hospital bed with another baby. “Two babies? Twins! Please tell me that’s a girl!” The young kunoichi rushed to the mother’s side pulling up a chair to sit down as she reached her hands out for the child, hesitating when the words brute strength echoed in her head. Orochimaru recognized the look, even though Tsunade acted tough she was still an insecure girl sometimes. “You won’t hurt her, Jiraiya’s an idiot. Don’t listen to him.” He stated plainly, shoving her forward so she stumbled into the chair. “Hey!” Jiraiya knocked into his shoulder, why was everyone going after him today? Tsunade looked back with a small look of appreciation, he pretended not to notice and looked at Biwako curiously.
“She’s a girl right?” The pale faced nin gestured toward the baby she was placing into his team mate’s arms. “Yes she is! This is Asami, she’s quite the surprise. Born at 8:00AM yesterday.” The mother chirped back happily, glowing with motherly love and affection for her babies. “This here is Asuma, born at 4:00PM yesterday.” Hiruzen spoke as he patted Jiraiya’s shoulder and pushed him to sit down in the chair he was next to. As Jiraiya sat Hiruzen spoke to him quietly, “Cradle your arms and make sure you support his head and neck, he’s not made of glass there’s no need to look so nervous.” Jiraiya looked at his Sensei with nervousness in his eyes, babies are so small and he’s so… the opposite. Holding his arms out gently he allowed for the small bundle of life to be placed in his arms, unsure of what to do next he looked to the older man for any idea. Hiruzen barked out a laugh at the helpless look on his pupil’s face, enemy nin and rogue ninja were nothing but a baby had the young man in shambles. “Just hold him, son. He’s just a baby, he doesn’t do much.” Hearing his Sensei’s words he felt himself relax a bit, settling in with the baby in his arms the child quickly fell back asleep. Son, Hiruzen always says they’re like his family and maybe the old man really did mean it.
As Asuma settled it was like the energy he had was transferred to Asami and she began to start babbling and waving her hands around. Moving her head she seemed incredibly animated for a newborn. Something had caught her attention it seemed as her father noticed the baby’s eyes zeroing in on his only pupil that had het to greet her. Looking at the young man’s face it seemed the child had captivated even his most withdrawn student.
Orochimaru had been watching closely at the way Tsunade and the others handled the babies and believed he could do it. Though even he himself wasn’t sure why he wanted to do such a thing, he’s never liked children before. Though the girl had caught his attention, duping all medical professionals and seemingly born with luck on her side. Trying to garner the courage to ask if he could hold the child his Sensei seemed to know the situation better than he did. “Would you like to hold her, Orochimaru?” Hiruzen asked quietly enough that Jiraiya wouldn’t hear him, probably willing to answer for him and that wasn’t what he was looking for at the moment. Encouraging him with warm eyes he spoke once more, “She seems interested in you too.” Hesitating the younger male nodded, attempting to locate a chair before realizing they were both taken. He was slightly nervous about holding the newborn child while standing. The mother in Biwako appeared to notice his discomfort and offered him a seat, “You can sit on the bed with me, I know it’s a little scary standing with them at first.” She spoke to him quietly, patting the bed beside her as she kept looking at her baby boy in Jiraiya’s arms. Truthfully the avoided eye contact was a blessing, this encounter was making him feel vulnerable and he didn’t like it.
As soon as Tsunade placed Asami in his arms she settled, content to look up at his face in wonder. Returning her stare he began to take notice of her features. Her head full of dark hair catching his attention first, her small hands reaching towards his face caught his attention next, and lastly her eyes. They didn’t match anyone in the family, a striking color that reminded him of crackling embers and scorching flames. “Her eyes are beautiful aren’t they?” Biwako asked him, startling the pale faced nin out of his thoughts. Looking slightly sheepish that he had been caught he nodded to the mother and agreed. His sensei spoke from the other side of the room, “We believe she has been born with a will of fire so strong it even marks her outward appearance, she will become a very capable kunoichi some day. I hope she is able to study under all three of you, my students, to learn from the best.” At that Orochimaru looked at the babe in his arms once more, maybe he wouldn’t be opposed to training the child when she became of age. Maybe, he could be Asami’s sensei.

Whisper Me A Love Song Episode 1 Review - Love At First Sight
This is the first time I’m watching and reviewing an actual yuri anime. While I do prefer BL more, I do want to expand my horizons and try out different genres. The first episode of Whisper Me A Love Song was actually really cute.
Tumblr media
The story is about first year Himari Kino who starts her first day in high school and falls for the cool third year Yori Asanagi when she plays for the opening ceremony’s live band. Himari cannot get Yori out of her mind and when she manages to see her at the shoe lockers, she confesses to her. After her confession, Yori starts becoming interested in her. However, it turns out that Himari’s love and Yori’s love aren’t the same! Uh-oh.
The premiere was super cute! I loved the colors and the animation! I just think this will be a sweet and pure love story between two girls. I do like how it’s similar to other romance animes that are pure and sweet like Sasaki and Miyano or My Love Story With Yamada. To be honest, it does kind of remind me of Given with the music theme and with the way the leads have the same hair and eye colors as Uenoyama and Mafuyu. Heck, even Yori, the black-haired and blue-eyed lead, finds inspiration in her cuter, red-haired love interest like how Uenoyama finds motivation to love music again after meeting Mafuyu who is also cute and has red hair. It’s like a happier version of Given but with lesbians.
I think the first episode really does solidify Yori and Himari as characters. Yori has never fallen in love before and despite misunderstanding Himari’s love, decides that she wants her to feel the same way. The fact that she’s motivated by cat merchandise is hilariously cute. Himari is super adorable. She’s like a puppy! I do like how straight forward she is when it comes to her feelings. While she isn’t exactly feeling romantic love right now, the way she’s able to express herself so well is a good trait. I do hope to see a scene where Himari realizes she’s in love with Yori.
The side characters are fun! I quite liked the red-haired rich girl. The way she was like “Go fall in love with someone” after hearing Yori struggling with making a love song was hilarious. Like, that’s a tall order, girl. Then there’s the tall ditzy girl who clings onto her. Then there’s Miki, Himari’s friend and Aki’s sister. Aki herself seems interesting as she is shown prominently in the opening, meaning that she’ll have her own love story.
The voice acting is good! Fun fact: Yori’s singing voice and her speaking voice are two different people. Her voice actress for regular dialogue is Asami Seto, who voiced Kasane Randall from Scarlet Nexus and Nobara from Jujutsu Kaiser. Her singing voice is done by Kana Sasakura, who is a singer. I think this is rather interesting because music animes usually have the singing done by their respective voice actors. To see Yori have two different voices is a rather unique concept. I’m not sure if Seto can sing, but I do wonder what the thought process behind this was. Do they want to promote a lesser known musician? Regardless, this is cool! Sasakura’s voice is good! I think that this is a good way to promote a musician! I honestly quite like Asami Seto as a voice actress so to hear her voice an awkward girl will be a treat for my ears!
Himari is voiced by Hana Shimano. This is the first time Shimano is voicing a lead and her voice is extremely adorable. It’s high-pitched but not like ear-gratingly high. There’s a right amount of high tone that doesn’t seem like she’s straining herself. There’s also a softness to it. It’s really nice to listen to! It’s something I’d definitely listen to constantly!
The side cast is actually stacked. Holy cow. First, there’s Miki who’s voiced by Aoi Koga. I know her from Hirogaru Sky Precure as Ellee and I couldn’t recognize her voice at all! Dang, she’s versatile! Is that her normal voice? If it is, it’s great! Then there’s Mikako Komatsu who voices her sister Aki. I think Komatsu is super versatile and is also a voice actress I really like listening to! Heck, I didn’t even realize Aki was voiced by Komatsu until the credits rolled and I usually can recognize her voice by ear! Good job passing through my good ears! The red-haired rich girl is Mari and she’s voiced by Konomi Kohara. I like her character and her voice so I’m keeping an eye out for her. The tall ditzy girl is Tachibana and she’s voiced by Ai Kakuma who voiced Mashiro from Hirogaru Sky Precure. There are so many Precure voice actors here!
Though, if there is one thing I am worried about, it’s mainly the state of the future episodes. The first episode is good, but, after doing some research, I saw that this anime was delayed from its previous Winter 2024 broadcasting due to a change in directors. I’ve honestly never heard of an anime where the director was changed in the middle of production. Will this ruin the state of the anime? Who knows. I like what I saw so far, so please don’t let this anime become a train wreck—I’m an anime-only, by the way.
I feel like my Saturdays are going to be great thanks to this show. I hope it’ll be the start for me to try more yuri anime. Are there any yuri recommendations you want me to take a look at? Let me know!
