Sketch bomb 2023

This isn't a complete collection of my sketches from previous year, but all I did for my little experiment. It was fun comparing my memory sketches to those done with references. Drawing freely is truly enjoyable, but sometimes I like to stop and analyze what I see on a photo. Next time, I might challenge myself to draw something entirely new, stepping outside my comfort zone. Something different than my favourite animals. What sketch do you like the most? Which ones do you enjoy more? Do you prefer the pieces drawn from memory or with a reference?

Moonlit Memories

Together they can overcome any difficulties! This commission took many hours to do but I am really satisfied with the effect. Sergal char in a futuristic city! This is his city and you are in a wrong neighborhood. His position and the way he is holding these guns is inspired by a certain character from popculture who wielded them in a similar way! Drawing this would be impossible without my friend who made photos of him holding a prop gun like this. Thank you so much, IbilisSLZ - you literally saved this project. Sergal char belongs to super patient woolfpack (FA) who also gave me this amazing and fun idea for a painting.

All dogs go to the beach

This painting was done for super patient ShereKhan3 Thank you for commissioning me!! Characters are: ShereKhan3 's original character, Maverick. He's digging and looking at other doggos playing. Bolt from a movie, running with a ball in his muzzle. Steele from movie "Balto"-running with a branch in his muzzle, and Solomon from "No North" comic done by Skailla (the commissioner had a permission to use their char!). He's less active than his friends, but his paws in water were hardest to draw. I hope you like the atmosphere I created in this painting!

The fight

For the whole time of painting this one, I was waiting for a moment I can finally do this dramatic red light on character's face. I really enjoyed working on it, and the background was meant to be so bright and chaotic, as it is now! These characters are named Qent and Samuel and they are recreating the famous fight scene from Star Wars.

Dates are my favourite theme to draw lately. I really enjoy such scenes, so people who had characters in relationships and decided to attack me this year on ArtFight were really lucky. This speedpaint was done for Eveeka. Her characters are unique and they all have some sort of lore, which made me really inspired. So here they are, Dorian and Ida from Eveeka's comics.
