The letter to the Thessalonians ends with a special request for believers: "Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it." 1 Thessalonians 5:15-24. All Christians are called to the eschatological hope, that is, to the total consummation of the Kingdom of God with the second coming of the Lord, that is why we must always keep alert to the signs of the times. And being alert means maintaining our integrity in body, soul and spirit. Through the soul we have life, the soul is the perfection of the body, and through the spirit we are aware of divine realities, the spirit is our link with God. When we live the spiritual gifts, seeking the good and avoiding the evil, helping our neighbor, we are strengthening our spirit and that has a direct impact on our relationship between the body and the soul. By the law of the harvest and the sowing (Galatians 6:7), the assertive and edifying decisions have rewards. So much so, that one of the blessings we receive is longevity or Immortality, which improves the body; and the second blessing is the happiness of the heart, which generates the well-being of the soul. We must take care of our unity in body, soul and spirit, this is what the apostle Paul asks of us, the correct development of man towards eternal life (the worship of the wisdom, John 4:24) implies the balance of these three parts with each other.
