Sacabambuddy loves you!
Have a lil' Pride Month creature doodle inspired by the derpy Sacabambaspis model from the Finnish Museum of Natural History! 🏳️‍🌈
While Sacabambaspis went extinct a long time ago, Sacabambuddy is here to stay!
He might be a poor swimmer (he has bad limb coordination), but he will slowly make his way over to give you soft, affectionate head butts. 🥹
Til my next post, much love from your local genderfluid goblin. 💖

Sliding in on the last day of Smaugust yet again lol. I actually had an entire line-up of dragon friends for you goblins to meet, but things have been kinda tough on my end. I'll have a life update soonish about that. 🙃
Now, onto SOME LORE!
Meet the Coral-Eater Dragon! These large yellow sea-noodles can be found pootling about the seabed whilst acting as a mobile microhabitat for fish.
As their name implies, these dragons chiefly eat coral. Armed with tails that are encased with hard, stony coral, Coral-Eaters will break down soft corals to feast on by bashing them into smaller pieces to swallow.
Both sexes of these species also boast hard coral antlers which they use for defense and courtship (a male and female will typically engage in locking of antlers to see if they are a match for each other). 💖🐉
Despite being the distinguishing features of the species, Coral-Eater hatchlings are not born with coral-encased antlers or tails. Newborns must be guided by an adult to where mass coral spawning occurs in order to let planulae (free-floating coral larvae) settle and attach onto their bare horns and tails.
Coral-Eater Dragons are a generally docile species, and it is said that wherever one dies, a coral reef will grow in its place. 🐟🐠🪸

🫂🎃Halloween Snuggles🎃🫂 A Plumpkin mama and child being cozy together. Plumpkins grow from enchanted pumpkin seeds (or seeds from a plumpkin itself), and emerge in Autumn ready to eat your stash of snacks and candies. Don't feed them too much though, they'll get sick. When not trying to fight you for the last cookie, Plumpkins are pretty docile and friendly, and make perfect companions for magicfolk of all ages. Dedicated to my mom who recently left this plane of existance for another. Love you and miss you lots, mom. 💖

I have returned, with a new creature in tow!
Meet the Aquatic Egg Snatcher, more affectionately known as the Legsalotl.
Despite closely resembling axolotls, Legsalotls are actually distantly related to dragons.
These otter-sized critters, while amphibious, usually only come onto land to do what they do best: snatching and eatings eggs from nests (or egg cartons, they're not fussy)! 😁
It's been a while since I added a creature to my personal bestiary, plus I wanted to challenge myself with colours that I rarely work with (pinks and purples). 💖
Head on over to my Instagram page, where you’ll find a Q&A featuring this slippery friend! (It’ll be one of my pinned stories)

Inktober Day 16- Tatzelwurm Domestic Tatzelwurms are just that; very domestic! Hailing from Alpine folklore, Tatzelwurms are described as having the face of a cat and the body of a serpent. Where wild Tatzelwurms might terrorize the locals and their livestock, domestic ones are basically just long cats that are happy to inconveniently sprawl on your workspace while you're working.
And while they are significantly smaller than their wild counterparts, domestic Tatzelwurms can get pretty large. Think super long, hefty bolster (except with fur, scales and meows)! 😁🐱🐍

Inktober Day 10- Daisies Just a normal-looking daisy, nothing to see here, folks. 😁🌻
Inspired by fasciation (aka cresting), which is a rare deformity/abnormal growth in vascular plants, that can occur anywhere on the plant body. Fasciation is derived from the Latin root word which means 'banded' or 'bundled'. It causes the apical meristem (growing tip) of plants, which are usually concentrated around a single growing point (and produces cylindrical-shaped tissue) to become elongated, so that flattened, ribbon-like growth is produced instead. Fasciation can be cause by several factors, such as genetic mutation, hormonal imbalances in the meristematic cells, bacterial and viral infections and even insect or fungal attacks. As you might've guessed, some plants are grown and prized aesthetically for their fasciated states, because they are pretty dang neat!

Inktober Day 14- Pumpkin Creature Hey, did anyone lose a baby? This lil' fella has been sitting in my garden for a few hours now, and I'm not sure where he's from.
He also hasn't blinked, but I guess having holes for eyes will do that to someone. 🎃🐦

Inktober Day 25- Gargoyle Something tells me this lil' fella isn't all too great at his job of protecting his cathedral, but that's okay! It's the thought that counts, right? 😁🖤

Inktober Day 11- Dopplegänger
Seeing double? You might've spotted a Duckplegänger! (In this case, a Barrow's Goldeneye Duckplegänger)
These creatures are actually quite a common occurence, and most if not all species of ducks have them. We just don't notice them because they usually hang around larger flocks, making them harder to spot.
So next time you come across a large flock of ducks, be on the lookout! 😉🦆

Inktober Day 15- Eyes
A many-eyed rat creature!
So you can actually thank my subconscious for this!
Back in July, I had a dream where there where a bunch of these critters came through a (non-existant) pipe in the bathroom, and were sniffing about the sink area.
My dream self was equal parts intrigued and apprehensive, because of the eyes they had on their backs. Ultimately they were too cute to resist and I let one walk onto the palm of my hand. Just when that happened, I woke up lol. 😂🐀👁

Behold, the Sentient Garlic Bulb, striking fear into the hearts of vampires everywhere.
Pictured here is a mother and her pups, and looks like something or someone has really pissed her off! 😮

Inktober Day 30- Mushroom Merchant This is Grëla, a humble mushroom merchant. She can be found sitting by the roadside, surrounded by, and oft-times cradling her merchandise.
While Grëla herself may seem trustworthy enough, I'm not all too sure about those mushrooms. I mean, they have faces! 🍄🤔

Day 31- Trinket Caterpillar
Trinket Caterpillars, as their name suggests, spend their day collecting bits and bobs. A distant cousin of the Masked Caterpillar (click here!), they often sneak into suburban areas to acquire trinkets. Missing a garden gnome? Or perhaps you have trouble finding your brand new spade? A Masked Caterpillar might've swiped it! No one really knows how these forest dwellers developed a habit of collecting trinkets, but they definitely do not keep it all to themselves. In fact, these giant caterpillars can be found gifting them to fae folk and animals, usually asking for nothing in return. Another thing you might've noticed about Trinket Caterpillars is that they have plants growing on them! Interestingly enough, their bodies are the pretty good mediums for plant growth, and when a particular plant gets too large, the Trinket Caterpillar will eat it! Talk about self-sustenance! 🐛🍁

Inktober Day 21- Wind Meet the Wind Wolf, or rather, a Wind Wolf pup! This lil' fella is practicing their species' signature howl. Wind Wolves are the reason why we sometimes hear howling winds. Unfortunately, the average human can't see them without the aid of magic. A Wind Wolf's body is composed of dense gases and air. Young pups generally have a hazy, smoky appearance and odour to them, as a form of protection. Adult wolves are generally odourless, but may have a hint of petriochor to them. So next time you hear the wind howl, remember that it's a pack of Wind Wolves passing through! 🐺🍃

I'm not sure what this Speckled Dragon wants in return, but would you trust him? 🐉💎
