The 7 Step Korean Skincare Method

1. Double Cleansing

The Skincare method starts off with cleansing your face. This step helps in removing oil residues from the face and lets it breathe. It is better to use an oil based cleanser as it break downs makeup residues that’s sticking to your face. After that, use a water based foaming cleanser. It will wake your skin up making it refreshed.

2. Exfoliate

Next is to exfoliate and remove black heads by scrubbing and cleaning your face. It is recommended to have a gentle face massage as it can improve the blood circulation on your face. This step will help in removing the excess oil in pores and improve inflammation caused by acne.

3. Toner

This is one of the most important steps in skincare. Using toner will help in balancing out the pH of your skin as it begins to repair and protect your skin. Some of the toners with higher alcohol content will dehydrate your skin and make it dry so it is crucial to choose your skincare products wisely.

4. Essence

This is another key step of the skincare routine. The use of essence will strengthen the moisture barrier of the skin and improve it’s resilience. Besides, it will also hydrate the skin by increasing its clarity and giving more transparency to it.

5. Serum

Serum is the skincare product that addresses dark circles issues, uneven skin tones, pigmentation issues as well as fading dark spots and sunspots. The Vitamin C serum helps the skin in collagen formation which makes the skin firmer and younger-looking.

6. Moisturizer

Using moisturizer is one of the steps you should never miss out on. This makes the skin smoother and plumper. It will help in reducing early appearances of lines on the face of wrinkles. It will also sooth the skin and give it a glow like glass.

7. Sunscreen

The last step of the skincare routine is sunscreen. Sunscreen protects your skin from harmful radiation cause by UV rays from the sun or any bright lightings. These UV rays cause skin to age faster and make it look saggy. Sunscreen helps to even out skin tones, minimize pores and also improve texture.

imo yong-soo is a 2000+ year old man but he looks good and fresh because he does his skin care routine and is diligent with sunscreen 👍🏼 if you open his bathroom cabinet there's a whole row of men's skincare products. unlike some other people: im sorry but the way i see arthur, he loves getting sunburned in majorca and ibiza way too much. antonio makes thousands of euros off selling him aloe vera and post sunburn care annually. he gets better with the NHS and cutting back on smoking but he's not on yong-soo's level 😔

Some time ago, in a post on my blog, I had shared pro-shot links of the first and second acts of the Korean version of Yeston & Kopit's "Phantom" - promising to do my best to find a better and, possibly, subtitled version.

I thought I had succeeded when a YouTube channel had decided to upload it - but unfortunately the same channel later changed its mind and decided to remove (twice) the video.

After several attempts on different platforms (unfortunately all of which failed, for all sorts of reasons, at the time of publication) I decided to upload the video and its subtitles - of which, just in case, I had downloaded a copy - to Mega.

Finally got back to my favourite local café for some studying! I've had tonsillitis for the past week so I've just been comfort (/low-key hate) reading Julia Quinn books since last sunday.

Finished up some practice questions, caught up on my daily vocab in one of my books (still haven't started making the flashcards I specifically bought for this month though rip ㅠㅠ).

Today's audiobook read was Upright Women Wanted by Sarah Gailey and I had some fun with it! It was super short which I'm not complaining about and it was a really good introduction to the future western genre! A pretty solid read overall, and I'm interested in picking up more from Gailey in the future!

I also started a new physical read with Wonderworks by Angus Fletcher, and now I want to reread the Iliad lmao.

This is such a weird little quip, but after watching a shitton of Korean and Chinese media, which is my main, it's nice to play a game like Ghost of Tsushima where the characters are super gorgeous while having round faces and soft jawlines.

Like, look at that! They're in the north! They're on the same latitude as Henan and right beneath Busan! They don't need a ghostly pale complexion and knife-like jawline to be strong, attractive characters!

#i know japan is less extreme than china and korea when it comes to the colorism and slim jawlines at least on screen #also this is an american production right and they modeled the faces off asian american actors #but after blue eye samurai and legit all the kpop and cdrama i consume #it's just nice to see some east asian faces that aren't the one look that people put on screen #it sometimes feels like you're just not allowed to be seen if you have a slightly wide face #even though wide faces are perfectly normal and just as common as slim faces among asians #fat shaming in our cultures is so real even though sometimes we just look like that it's got nothing to do with eating wrong or whatever #tears falling like peridots #gots #ghost of tsushima #tomoe #sakai jin #yuna

Everyone loses thier mind when an english singer uses AI (rightfully so) but uuuh no one is monitoring the kpop scene (besides the obvious cover art thats blatantly obviously AI and when they disclose they used AI usually just to have fun like supernova) im like 80% sure some of these newer groups and songs use AI exclusively actually 😬 truthfully knowing how greedy the production companies are i 100% belive they would not pass on exploiting AI in making thier newer stuff in order to maximize the money going into thier pockets

Im literally looking at anything coming out of SM entertainment right now with the biggest side eye in history....

#there is like 2 major diffrent sounds in kpop right now and its extremely easy to tell apart which one is AI and Which is not but #no one seems to notice or care #i suppose im not surprised because kpop stans prettymuch do not give a shit about content originality as long as they can call it a slay #forever torn between liking all kinds of artists from korea and the exploitative industrial capitalist machine that is #korean production companies
