“What did you just say?” You hear as you round the corner, an audible crack ringing above the hushed mumbles of other students surrounding what you assumed was a fight unfolding. You couldn’t see anything as you approached the back of the circle that had formed. You craned your neck to see a glimpse of what was going on, another cracking sound, followed by yelling.

“What’s going on?” You spoke, slightly panicked to the Ravenclaw girl who was stood in front of you.

“Nott and Longbottom. Nott’s winning.” She spoke nonchalantly, as if she didn’t care that another student, your friend, was getting beaten.

You felt an unfamiliar feeling surge inside you. Anger. You barged your way through the surrounding students, bursting through the front line and finally witnessing the scene that had unfolded. Nott had Neville pinned up against the wall with one hand in the middle of his chest, his other laying punches into his face and stomach.

Something snapped inside you.

You couldn’t help yourself, charging into Nott’s side at full force and throwing him off balance, causing him to lose his footing and fall to the floor. You pulled your wand out and aimed it at him.

“You ok Nev?” You asked the shaken boy, keeping your eyes fixed on Nott, who was beginning to get back up.

“Yeah, I-I’m ok.” Neville mumbled, wiping his bloody nose with the sleeve of his cloak.

You watched at Nott got back to his feet, glaring at you. He took a step towards you.

“Take one more step and I’ll hex you into next year.” You stood your ground, defending your friend with unwavering confidence and anger coursing through your body. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest.

Neville stared at you in disbelief, as did many other students that had been watching the fight. You were known for being the quiet, kind Hufflepuff who sat in the back of the class and often carried round a bag of sweets from Honeydukes, handing them out to anyone who looked upset.

This was a side of you no one had seen before, it was a side of you reserved for those who hurt the people you cared for.

Your eyes narrowed, your wand still trained on Nott, searching for any sign of movement towards you. His glare was piercing, ice cold. If looks could kill.

He stepped away from you, turning and shoving his way through the crowd, sending students falling into one another as he left. You let out a sigh of relief as you watched him leave, only turning to Neville after he was out of your sight.

“Let’s get you to the hospital wing.” You spoke softly, wrapping Neville’s arm over your shoulder and helping him through the corridors.

As you arrived at the hospital wing, Madame Pomfrey rushed over to take Neville to a bed, firing questions at you. There was an unspoken rule between the students, if you fought each other and were injured, say nothing. Your explanation to Madame Pomfrey was that you’d just found Neville like this and had no idea what had happened. You knew she didn’t believe you, but she had no proof that anything you said wasn’t true.

She shooed you from the wing shortly after Neville was placed into a bed, stating that he needed to rest and would be back to class in a couple of days. You nodded, remaining silent, afraid that anything you would say may give away too much information. You really didn’t want a target on your back, even though you now had one from defending your friend.

just imagining (canon compliant) Theodore Nott dating fem!Wolfstar!reader and like the angst of it because realistically, Sirius’ daughter dating a Slytherin?? Sirius’ daughter dating a Nott?? A very well known family of followers of Voldemort? And all Remus knows about Theo is that he was the quietest of the boys in reader and Theo’s year and that he didn’t spend time with Draco and Draco’s friends. Sirius tries to get information from Harry and Harry doesn’t even know Theo exists so he asks Hermione who Theo is and Hermione rolls her eyes because Theo is not only a lone wolf and quiet, but he’s highly skilled in Potions and Ancient Runes and it frustrates Hermione because she has never once seen Theo in the library studying.

(Non-canon compliant because Enzo is a fanon character) So Harry asks Neville, Seamus, and Dean for more information because while Remus knows enough information to judge now, Sirius is still not too happy about this arrangement. Harry learns from Neville, Seamus, and Dean that Theo rarely speaks, but they have seen the boy hang out with Enzo and Blaise on numerous occasions.

Sirius is still not too pleased because while he now knows Theo is not a complete loner who’s intelligent is normal Pureblood subjects, Theo is friends with a Zabini, a rich and powerful family, and a Berkshire, a Pureblood family not part of the Sacred 28 and Sirius isn’t too impressed in the choice of friends the Nott boy has made. Sirius asks Harry to get Ron’s brothers, known pranksters and troublemakers who are good friends of reader, to pull a prank in Theo’s vicinity to see how the Slytherin reacts. Sirius believes that a guy who doesn’t enjoy pranks isn’t good enough for his daughter.

So Fred and George pull off a prank on Lorenzo Berkshire while Enzo’s spending time with Blaise and Theo. The twins somehow, I’m not good at writing pranks, get paint all over Enzo and Blaise and Theo by accident. Enzo’s trying to laugh it off because it’s Fred and George, they obviously didn’t mean any harm while Blaise is disgruntled and trying to not hex the twins because now he has to wash paint out of his hair which is not an easy task and he’s just praying the paint Fred & George used wasn’t acrylic. Theo’s smirking and holding back a chuckle at Enzo and Blaise’s reactions, not even noticing the paint that splattered onto him. Fred and George are rolling around on the grass, laughing so hard their lungs hurt and while all of this is happening, reader is only standing a distance away, mouth ajar and eyes wide because Fred and George had sworn Theo would be off limits now that Theo was dating reader.

I might honestly end up writing this myself because I’m so hooked on it now. Also, in my mind fem!Wolfstar!reader is also a Ravenclaw and secretly highly mischievous.

We weren't friends for terribly long before, but it seemed like we always gravitated and found each other."

"There was this one time that I remember as clear as day, though. We were sitting in my room studying for the O.W.Ls, and they started telling me facts about Nifflers. They're my first love, so maybe I'm biased, but it feels exactly like the books and movies. I find myself glancing them to make sure they are having fun. My heart still skips beats when they hold my hand in public. My body warms when they touch me. Mostly though, I feel happy. Even with all the horrible things happening in the world, I just feel lucky to have time with them. I don't know if we'll end up together forever or if we'll live out all the fantasies I've made up for us."

THE FINAL CHAPTER IS HERE!

Chapter 41 -- The One With the Final Epilogue

Well, this is it! THE FINAL LAST EPILOGUE AND LAST CHAPTER of my world of Kismet. It started back in 2018 with some random Marauder snippets that I put aside to write about Sirius and Remus raising Harry which turned from a 25 chapter story idea to 360 chapters of A Second Chance and led me to write a prequel with my original Marauder snippets in The First Time Around. It ended with Third Times the Charm.

As I always say, I write this story for myself first and this is the final chapter of what I wanted to write and how I wanted to end my world of Kismet. I’m very excited to share it with you and I hope you’re excited to read it. I hope those of you who have been reading this story have been enjoying it even half as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it and that you like the ending as much as I do. And for those of you who don’t, I thank you for reading as long as you have and hope you find a story some day that pleases you more. There are a lot of amazing writers in the world and I hope someone gives you the ending you want.

As for me I am very proud of my final scene and of this trilogy.

I would like to firstly thank @thedistantdusk, who even though only was my Beta from chapters 200-360 of ASC and for all of The First Time Around, her patience and guidance were greatly appreciated. Thank you to @seriouslysam8 who was an amazing sounding board and helped me work out the kinks in the final idea of Sirius and Zee and helped me come up with the story titles for The First Time Around and Third Times the Charm. It’s surreal to me that people even want to do that and is more appreciated than I can possibly put into words. And lastly, thank you to @celtics534 for putting up with my random asks about reading over scenes, giving great writing advice, and not being afraid to tell me when something is crap and how to fix it. You’re more appreciated than you know. PS — Sorry for bothering the crap out of you with final reviews of this last chapter LOL.

Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to follow me in this story-writing journey for the last six years. It means so much to me.

I have no plans of writing anything else in the near future, as I do very much need a break, but who knows what the future will bring. These epilogues, while being very much a conclusion, still leave lots of holes for me to jump back in if I ever want to (old and next generation). It leaves the world of Kismet open to me in the future while still showing you that that there was a happily ever after for these characters (which is very much deserved).

harry potter (canon) couples that I could get behind + commentary

Hermione Granger x Harry Potter: Idk… I can kinda get behind this- they should relate to each other when it comes to the wizarding world. Because they were both raised by muggles, it must’ve been hard to figure out the magical world right off the bat. They also trust each other a ton. (Way more than Ron did, anyway) When Hermione brings Umbridge to the forest to trick her, Harry at first doesn’t know what she’s about to do, but he trusts her. They’re also not jealous of each other, whether it comes to romantic interest or just their capabilities in something. Hermione didn’t care that Harry was the Chosen one, and Harry didn’t care that Hermione topped him in every class.

Hermione Granger x Draco Malfoy: Popular, maybe basic opinion, but these two are the perfect balance of opposites and likes. They are both opposites when it comes to the obvious: Hogwarts houses, blood status, athletics, etc. But they both have many things in common: heavy expectations, being at the top of each class, and other more deep-rooted ideologies. This would give them both something to learn, but also something to relate to. In addition, after the war, Draco could improve his reputation by helping all of the causes and organizations that Hermione started over the years. He has a ton of money, why not donate some? I also think they could be adorable together, Draco spoiling Hermione, Hermione exposing Draco to muggle culture.

Luna Lovegood x Draco Malfoy: Besides the similar white-blonde hair and the same blood status, these two could not be more different. However, it can be a good thing. While Luna can teach Draco about leading life with love and a bit more imagination (like how she was brought up), and Draco can hold Luna to the real world and teach her about the more traditional way of life. On top of that, after the war, Luna doesn't seem like the person to care about Draco's ruined reputation. She would help him get over caring too much about what other people think and instead enjoy life more often. I feel that her forgiving nature would help Draco lead a better life. (Besides, his parents can't possibly be THAT opposed, she's a pureblood, after all)

Theodore Nott x Hermione Granger: Similar reasoning as to the Hermione x Draco ship reasoning, but also remembering that Theo and Hermione don't have as much history, which could be both bad and/or good, that's up to interpretation. I also love that Hermione used a time turner in her younger years, and Theo gets in trouble for being involved in handling illegal magical goods, ie a time turner.

Draco Malfoy x Theodore Nott: With both of their father's being servants of Voldemort, the two supposedly bonded, finding solace in each other. They both also survive the war, so helping each other through hardships would be a critical piece of the story because of how much they relate to and understand when it comes to one another. I also love how Theo was never really in Draco's "Gang" which makes me believe that he has his own independent mind, which is always important.

Luna Lovegood x Theodore Nott: Sunshine x Grumpy? Both see Thestrals? Like the Luna x Draco reasoning, they can learn lots from each other, + ignore the society's views on them because they both don't care.

Luna Lovegood x Neville Longbottom: Ok EVEN THOUGH Luna Lovegood x Rolf Scamander is the most genius idea that JK Rowling has had in her entire career, this could work. The fact that both passionate about their own respective interests makes conversation and life very unique. They're both also good listeners, which makes open communication very effective. Luna could teach Neville to ignore the haters, and Neville is a good anchor for Luna.

Pansy Parkinson x Neville Longbottom: I think that Pansy x Neville isn't such a bad idea. They're kind of opposites, but I love the idea that Neville gives so-called ice-queen-Pansy a safe space to be herself, to be a soft and warm. On the flipside, I think Pansy could teach Neville a thing or two about not being a pushover, and maybe even adding a little snark to conversations.

Pansy Parkinson x Harry Potter: I feel like this would work really well. Honestly though, Pansy would wear the pants in this relationship hands down. I feel like they would have a ton of chemistry... and they would learn a lot from each other. Pansy would humble Harry, Harry would humble Pansy. Simple.
