Egon Schiele, Seated Woman with Bent Knee, also known as Sitting Woman with Legs Drawn Up or The Artist's Wife , 1917.

In 1917, Egon Schiele painted his wife Edith Harms, and titled his creation ‘Sitting Woman with Legs Drawn Up’. The portrait displays Edith sitting on the floor, resting her cheek on her left knee. The fiery red tones of her carefree hair produce a striking contrast with the vibrant greens of her loosely fitted shirt. Her look is bold and intense as she appears to be staring directly at the viewer. Her casual pose and attire create an intimate moment with onlookers.

The suggestive nature of this portrait was not an uncommon trait in Egon Schiele’s work, as he admired the controversial artistic manner of his mentor, Gustav Klimt. However, making eroticism the major theme in most of his artwork got Schiele in trouble with the law. He was imprisoned in 1912 for obscenity in his paintings, an incident that did not deter him from his erotic artwork, (although it may have motivated him to put clothes on Edith in ‘Sitting Woman with Legs Drawn Up’). Schiele created approximately 300 paintings and more than 3000 works on paper during his career.

Egon Schiele life was cut short when he died of the Spanish Influenza at just 28 years old in 1918; his pregnant wife died of the same illness a mere three days later. (x)

People really can’t grasp that there are just some things short people can’t do because they can do it easily. And I know this goes for a myriad of things.

But I constantly am having people get upset at me when I tell them I can’t physically do something and they never believe me until they try to make me and see with their own damn eyes that I can’t do it.

Even if I am ok with heights, if you put me on a forklift I can’t do anything because I am going go be so close to the railing it’s going to obstruct my ability to move.

If I have to use a step ladder to reach a top shelf then chances are I will only be able to reach two items deep on that shelf and no further unless I actually step on the shelf which is dangerous.

If you need me to put a box more than a few pounds onto a shelf over my head on a ladder, I physically can’t without risk of that box pulling me to the ground because that weight above my head is always going go push against my balance and push me back. I have fallen off ladders because I had to put something above my head or tried to get something down because someone else said I could get it.

I’m so tired of people getting upset at me about this. When people have a physical limitation and can’t do something it’s that: a limitation, not an excuse to be lazy. There’s nothing I can do about it unless you’re going to provide a way to accommodate me, I’m sorry there’s just not.

Concept of time

Introduction:-

For new viewers, let me give you a quick information of what I write. So, I write blogs on what I learnt from the whole day because every day has it's unique sense and it always taught you some tiny lessons but in pressure of your goals, you forget those micro learnings. In simple words, I write blogs on everyday's learning. This particular blog is about what I learnt from today. Therefore, be with me till the end and most importantly enjoy the blog of today.

Incidence:-

Today's incidence was not verbally, not physically, it was a self realisation. I opened my album at morning. I was asking from my parents, who is this young lady, who is that, who is the person standing behind me and all those things. After looking at my old pictures, I realised how fast time passed. Some years ago, I was born and now I am at my teenage, after some years, I will be youth, after some years, I will be old and one day, I will die. Life is too short. It also made me realise of a great thing which is in learning section.

Learning:-

I realised that we must have to achieve our dreams, goals, desires, ambitions as soon as possible. We must never have to look for the perfect moment to start any work. We must have to fit it in our mind the principle of just do it, just make it happen. Don't wait, just make it done. We have to understand the nature of time. The nature of Time:- time passes slowly like tortoise, when you looking at the clock and it runs like a horse, when you are not looking at it. This day made me realise that time is limited. Therefore, we must need to use it to improve ourselves. Along with that, we must need to have patience. Just remember this mantra, "keep working at your full capacity without wasting time but with a patience" and that's how you will get success.

It saddens me that Helen of SPARTA is mostly known as Helen of TROY. As if she wasn't born, raised, and most likely, died in Sparta. Yes, she was of TROY for a while...But she was able to go back home to where she WANTED TO BE.
