"You say the term daddy issues like it's some grand insult."
The liquor burns a hole in the back of your throat and you're pretty damn sure it's fermented sharpie water. Drinking rotgut this acidic cannot be good for you, but when you're destitute and down on your luck, top shelf is hard to come by, and it's fair to say you're not drinking for the taste.
Tomura eyes you warily, watching the bob in your throat as you kick back another shot and the sour-apple face that follows. It's not predatory or threatening; just cautious. Apathetic.
This is the dynamic you have.
Tomura is too off-putting and angry for most people to stomach willingly. It's something you both share. Practically frothing vitriol at the slightest provocation. You think you have a certain immunity to his particular brand of biological cyanide because you stomached a hearty internal dosage yourself.
You talk because he understands. He listens because he deigns it acceptable. It isn't friendship or even acquaintanceship— if anything, it's reluctant kinship. Two toxic creatures being the only ones able to withstand each other's specific breed of venom. Hot and cold. Nothing at all and then too much.
"Well it is, isn't it?"
His pale, lithe fingers curl around the rim of his own drink, nursing it rather than knocking it back as you've opted to do.
You don't count it as drinking alone. You've been told that's bad.
"No, not really. Even the most well of intentioned parents leave us with scars. Kids are like playdough. You pick them up the wrong way once and it hardens and stays malformed forever. Everyone has daddy or mommy issues, or grandparent issues, or—"
"Abandonment issues?" He says with a cruel, mocking lilt to his voice. He's firing arrows blindly hoping to hit a sore spot. Unfortunately for him, where he's firing from gives away his own position.
"Sure, that's one of them," You shrug with a practiced air of nonchalance. "There's also 'mommy was an addict's issues, and 'daddy hit me and mommy didn't care' issues—"
There's a slight twitch below his right eye when you say it. You doubt he even notices.
"—All I'm saying is everyone has 'em in some form. Even the ones that are happy."
"Whatever. All of that pathetic shit is just weak. It has no bearing on anything."
He's lying and he isn't even aware. It has everything to do with anything. It's the tarnished silver cast that molded him into what he is today. A bit hamfisted to call that giant, brutish hand he wears like a shield over his face 'father' and not recognize the absurdity of that statement.
"Whatever you fuckin' say, man. Let he without sin and all that."
He doesn't respond to your provocation. Only studies you through slitted eyes, dry mouth pressed firm in a hard line. So you keep talking.
"All I'm saying is to end up here, it's obvious something went wrong along the way. Every one of these fucks here likes to ignore the seed that bore the fruit, but every time they strike at a hero, they're really just striking out at daddy or mommy and the society that failed them—"
He tenses, coiling like a rattlesnake poised to strike. Looks like you hit a nerve.
"What are you saying?" He hisses, laced with venom that he'll mainline directly to your heart if you say the wrong thing. "Sounds like projection."
"You're telling me you think everyone here had a wonderful past and ended up here anyway?"
You say 'here' as more of a nebulous abstract than a reference to any actual place. Fallen so far through the cracks of society that you have no choice but to seal the breech with a mortar of blood and bone.
"I think it doesn't matter," he spits, that trademark brand of disdain rearing its head again. "Heroes are—"
"Literally just a part of society as it was built. The pinnacle of greatness as it's supposed to be seen. Paragons of justice and good—"
"If you believe that, I should just kill you right now."
More tail rattling.
"I don't. I'm parroting propaganda. You said once it's like a disease and heroes are the symptom. Where else is the perpetuation of society born but in the cradle?"
"Hmph."
His muscles loosen and he turns his gaze from you towards nothing in particular.
"You know from an early age that something is wrong. Maybe not at home quite at first, but that there's something wrong with you. If you don't fit the mold; if you act out too much; if you're too violent or angry rather than a bubble faced cherub child, they make damn sure you know it."
"And what were you?" He says, seemingly disinterested.
"Well, I was told once that I was the most negative, angry child they'd ever seen. And then she started bawling uncontrollably for forty five minutes."
He cackles at that. A genuine, rueful laugh that sets your teeth on edge. He doesn't necessarily mean it as an insult— that's just a convenient side effect.
You shrug again. It's not a weak point. In fact, it works in your favor now. Same as his.
"Well, she wasn't wrong, per se."
His laugh peters out and finally dies behind the swallow of his own mouthful of booze. The next sentiment he says with almost a touch of admiration.
"I guess not. You do like to make them suffer."
"Because they fucking deserve it."
Even now you can feel the curdle of molten rage bubble in the low of your gut. Your jaw ticks and teeth begin grinding, spurred onward by the less-than-helpful encouragement of liquid courage. It's like a sun cradled in your ribs, solar flares lashing out and burning anything they touch when you let it. Keeping it contained is almost more painful than just letting it collapse into itself.
You clench and burn everything you touch, and everything Tomura holds with his entire being crumbles to ash and slips between his fingers. Ironic and symbolic in some ways. Acute pain turned defense mechanism.
Tragic, really. Honest.
Tomura has an immunity to his own quirk, but fire doesn't care what it singes, bearer or victim. Some days, the flames are so hot it scorches and clogs your own lungs like a thick, black smoke. Feed me, it demands, but every time you do, it only burns hotter.
Some days, you wonder what will be left of you when that fire goes out— if there will even be anything left at all.
They say anger is a secondary emotion; that it stems from sadness and grief. The fruit is bitter all the same, but when it's all you have to eat, you learn to enjoy the taste.
You have both long since fallen past the point of questioning whether everyone who angers you deserves to die. You've built a life around that questionable belief instead.
He eyes you with a peculiar look. One you've seen before and immediately, the rest of the night is mapped out in front of you like a blueprint.
"I know,"
He says it with a certain softness. As soft as the embodiment of raw glass and sharp edges can be.
"It's part of why I keep you close."
He keeps his heated stare on you, and you know he won't make any moves further than that. He hasn't drank quite enough to just grab you by the throat and take what he wants from you like he often does, but he knows enough to know he doesn't want to spend the night alone.
"And it's part of why I stay."
Negativity feeds negativity feeds negativity. A twisted form of trauma bonding that you've nurtured into some unholy abomination of desire. You will spend the night breaking each other down in violent and suffocating affection, and build each other back up into some more grotesque form than before.
It's cathartic. And extremely unhealthy. You know that.
Love isn't his hands around your throat until a cosmic spattering of bruises colors your neck or your nails embedded in his shoulders until ghostly skin slicing crimson is all that's left behind in your wake. It's not his fist on your cheek or your wrists ringed red with rope burn with cracked walls and and a broken bed frame. It's not the whiskey tinted breath of 'I love you' he sighs and conveniently forgets the following morning.
He wants to hurt; you know you deserve to be hurt.
That's not love— it's a mockery of it. A twisted reflection of what might have been had it not been burned beyond recognition before the kindling had even sparked.
Happy endings don't come in the form of arson. Happy endings don't end in ash and soot and still-burning cinders.
That miserable fire.
It will consume you both.

regarding aang becoming offended bc of his portrayal as a woman in ember island players, i think his anger was justified on that specific occassion? I mean, the fire nation was mocking his gentle nature and pacifism by portraying him as a blithering naive idiot who never took things seriously and the belittling of his culture and beliefs. This is one of the worst episodes for him, dont get me wrong, but in this case, femininity was utilized as a source of derision and weakness imo. I dont say this with bad intentions, just thought i would write this bc i also condemned aang for the same thing before
If that was what Aang was upset about I might be inclined to agree, but everything he says and does throughout that episode points to the contrary. Aang doesn’t say anything about the incorrect portrayal of his culture and personal values. Here is what he does say:
Tumblr media
[Note: the above expression is before the actress hardly says anything so he’s clearly just mad about the fact that she’s female]
Aang: [angrily] Is that a woman playing me?
Aang: I don't do that! That's not what I'm like! And I'm not a woman!
[Note: the official script includes the emphasis; again, it’s very obvious that he’s most bothered by being played by a woman]
Then this exchange:
Tumblr media
Toph: I don't know, you are more in touch with your feminine side than most guys.
Aang: [Standing up, angrily] Argh!
Katara: Relax, Aang. They're not accurate portrayals. It's not like I'm a preachy crybaby who can't resist giving overemotional speeches about hope all the time. [Everyone looks at her] What?
Aang: [Turns around and sits down. Sarcastically.] Yeah, that's not you at all.
You know what I love about this conversation is that is proves two things at once. Firstly, yet again, it’s clear that being portrayed by a woman is what is most upsetting to Aang. Secondly, his reaction (and, honestly, insult) to Katara’s values here shows that he’s not thinking that deeply about this. It has nothing to do with values. Aang is offended at the idea that he is being portrayed by a woman and with more “feminine” qualities, which honestly plays well with his creepy, possessive behavior with Katara later this same episode.
And I actually do like the fact that you brought up femininity being used as “a source of derision and weakness” because guess what! That’s the definition of femininity itself. Femininity doesn’t mean simply being a woman; femininity is the social behaviors and roles that women are expected to fulfill. Which is why I don’t have any sympathy for a man who is offended by being called feminine or compared to a woman because it’s reflective of a deeply misogynistic attitude on his part. If Aang thinks femininity is so degrading and weak, what does that say about the fact he expects his crush to behave that way? I mean, this is what he thinks of Katara, through his own perspective:
Tumblr media
So yeah, that’s my question. If being compared to a woman is so insulting and humiliating to Aang, what does that say about how he intuitively views actual women? Why does he think he’s above that treatment but women aren’t? People act like I’m crazy for saying that he exhibits toxic masculinity this episode but this only furthers that point.
Oh and before someone jumps in here and acts like this goes both ways, let me point you to this:
Tumblr media
Toph’s reaction to finding out she’s being played by a big, buff, stereotypically-masculine man. She’s thrilled! Why? Because we are products of a misogynistic society and therefore intuitively view being compared to a man as a compliment and a woman as an insult. The respective roles assigned to each are not equal. Masculinity and femininity were never equal and the system was deliberately created that way. You can see this idea ingrained in the writing of this episode because it’s a bias we all hold to some degree, including the writing and creative team here.
So I’m sorry, but considering the bias clearly present within the writing team and the way the characters behave this episode, it’s clear to me that Aang’s reaction has nothing to do with his culture and everything to do with his misogyny.

Book Peeta and Movie Peeta.
What key point or best qualities of Peeta's that lost in the movie adaptation?
What do you think about Josh Hutcherson portrayal of Peeta?
Thank you,
@curiouspeetamellark
I think Josh did the best he could've with what he got, he was an excellent cast. I find it a bit amusing that Cato and Gale's actors both read for Peeta and didn't get him, along with a bunch of other talented actors that some fans may prefer to Josh, but idk, Josh just truly seems perfect to me even if people may have wanted someone taller or blonde haired and blue eyed. It's the personality, you know. Josh has those extremely random talents and quirks that I feel like Peeta would have, like his squirrel calls, and he's well spoken.
Regardless, I kind of hate how the movies handle Peeta. Mostly a first movie problem, the cave scene makes him seem desperate and creepy. The infamous quote where he says he watched her walk home. It's not even remotely like him: Katniss reminds him of what he did for her by throwing her the bread, but he barely even remembers or cares about it in the book, brushing it off. Movie Peeta has it in his mind as he thinks about it a lot apparently, but it diminishes what he did because his initial kindness wasn't because he had a crush, it was just to help one of his classmates. Because he's just a good person and he doesn't expect anything in return, which Katniss struggles with. I don't know, it really seems to steer movie audiences in the direction of Peeta being a "nice guy" and expecting something back for the bare minimum.
The beginnings of his relationship to Katniss during training are also very watered down, Katniss hardly seems to react to him in the film compared to the book where she does sometimes laugh at his jokes or take his advice, to some extent.
He can't even keep his disability. Or show his falling out with Katniss. The first movie definitely still had time to have the end of the book adapted more closely and yet? I definitely believe the first one had a lot of missteps that were corrected as they went on.
A lot of his sarcasm and humor is gone, as well as his anger. While I woobify him to hell and back, he is able to be pissed off and jealous. In Catching Fire when he confronts Haymitch and Katniss for keeping things from him, for example, it reveals a lot of his feelings of being inferior which were kind of hinted at in the first book. It would just add a bit more complexity to him in the films.
Finally, this all irks me mostly because Peeta would not be treated poorly by an adaptation (or audiences) if he was a more traditional male action hero like Gale. They preserved most of Gale's scenes and even added another kiss with him and Katniss. His masculinity is always emphasized in his ability to protect and care for Katniss's family (which she does fine on her own).
Like, Peeta is no hunter and he chooses to take the high road in most confrontations. He seemingly has no survival skills (even if book readers know that's not true, I mean, he is more enduring to pain and suffering inflicted upon him than he is a killing machine) and he flourishes in social settings. He's outwardly emotional and feminine in the way Katniss describes him (using beautiful and pretty, emphasizing his eyelashes) and in his hobbies, his personality of being a homemaker, a gatherer. He's practically a damsel in distress at some points. The books do a fine job of never branding him as inferior to Katniss and Gale because of these things, but movie audiences and media still did it anyways in my opinion. Still do to this day.
He's seen as a weakling. But to tell you the truth, neither Katniss nor Gale would be able to recover from the torture he's endured. Not to the extent he did. That is where his strength lies. Any atrocity can be committed against him, but he can heal from it with time. And he doesn't even pursue any stereotypical sense of vengeance for the things done to him, nor does he wallow in his misery for more than is necessary. The same day he was cleared to go back home to 12, he was literally right there.
I feel bad for some movie only audiences that they never get him. But he's not for everybody, if you get it, you get it, if you don't you don't.

Misconceptions about the seven deadly sins: Wrath
Today’s misconception about the seven vices - the wrath misconception that “Wrath is... just being angry”.
Wrath, as a “deadly sin”, as a “vice” in Christian religion (and culture) is not just “being angry”. Being angry itself is a neutral thing - in fact, the Christian religion identifies a “rightful” wrath or a “holy” wrath, a wrath that good people or holy people can have in front of evilness and injustice. Wrath can be a tool for good, and this is something the Christian scholars have recognized for quite a long time.
So, what makes wrath “wrong”? What can turn it from a holy thing to a vice? Injustice. A “good”, a “fair” wrath acts out of justice - it is a revolt or rebellion in front of unpunished crime, of injustice, of evil set free. But the deadly sin of “wrath”, this sin of “ira” has been repeatedly and explicitely defined by Christian scholars and theologians as a “corruption of justice”.
The sin of wrath is a twisted and misguided manifestation of justice. The sinners of wrath seek to punish an offense or avenge an insult, or give retribution for a crime - just like someone who is a just person would do. But there are four specific ways justice can be turned into “wrath” according to Christian texts.
1) When justice is invoked and enacted for a crime that isn’t one - either an action that is perceived as an offense or insult when it is not, or a crime that doesn’t even exist expect in the mind of the sinner. “This random guy looked at me in the street, and I didn’t like it, so I beat him up”. To look at someone in the street is not a crime, not an aggression, not an insult - but a sinner of wrath will interpret this as a personal offense that needs to be punished, getting angry over perceived or invented slights.
2) When the punishment does not fit the crime. Wrath is what happens when a punishment or condemnation is blown out of proportion compared to the crime it is supposed to correspond to. “This kid stole a fruit from my shop? I will cut off their whole arm”.
3) When there is indeed a crime, and there is a punishment, but said punishment is given to the WRONG person. A sinner of wrath will blame or accuse innocent bystanders or unrelated people of crimes, offenses and insults they have received. To the extreme, we can talk of the stereotype cartoon villain “Because a teacher said my crafting project was bad at school I will BLOW UP THE ENTIRE PLANET”. Justice becomes wrath when it starts punishing innocents or mis-blaming people, being thrown blindly at falsely accused or perceived guilty parties that are in fact not guilty at all.
4) When the form of justice sought by the person actually breaks and opposes the actual laws/justice system. Now this fourth scenario, while perfectly admitted back in early Christianity days and Middle-Ages and the like, is more disputable and has to be nuanced in the modern days - as now we have rightful law-breaking rebellions against fascists or dictatorial states for example. But they key idea to get in this idea is that - you cannot fight fire with fire, and you cannot punish a crime by another crime. This is the “You raped my daughter, I will rape yours in turn - that’s justice”. No, that’s not justice, that’s wrath, and feeding into an endless cycle of violence.
Because this is what wrath (as conceived in the “seven deadly sins” group) is supposed to be. It isn’t about anger itself, it isn’t about mere violence (even though both play key part in the creation of this vice) - it is about personal revenge over-riding and contradicting justice and laws and morals ; it is about petty grudges and delusional blames and misguided accusations, it is about justice losing all prudence, all patience and all moderation. It is the mob lynching and the mob courts, and people that fundamentaly want to punish people just because they don’t like them or are in a bad mood on a bad day. That’s what the “sin of wrath” originally was.
Being angry at injustice or corruption is good. Being wrahtful against criminals or evil people is good. Wrath can be the main tool and weapon right and holy and just causes. Anger in itself is a neutral emotion in this Christian conception of the mind and the soul - which can be used for good or evil. And saying that “The vice of wrath is just being angry all the time” is a misconception. The sin of wrath is believing or claiming you are doing justice when you are doing massive injustice - it is when the punishment is unfit for the crime or when you turn innocent people into victims out of sick or blinded sense of “fairness”.

★·.·´¯`·.·★ S i g n s & t h e i r e l e m e n t ★·.·`¯´·.·★
* This is based on my knowledge and experiences, tho I tried to keep this vague as to not stereotype any of the signs
FIRE SIGNS:
Impulse, self expression, creativity. Drive to define and manifest the individual self (ego).
♈ seeks to expand their physical* prowess as a means to define and manifest their ego.
♌ craves an audience to define and manifest their ego, using their charming/personality prowess to keep the attention on themselves.
♐ Seeks to define their ego by expanding their horizon and active participation with other people. a.k.a: social/philosophical** prowess
When undeveloped they can be: Egotistical, stubborn, aggressive and prone to fits of anger.
*—> I don't mean muscles by this (tho that can be) but more anything that's tangible (clothes, hair, material possessions, for example)
** —> This is mostly my experience all sags I know give me very philosophical vibes, probs bc their ruled by jupiter.
EARTH SIGNS:
Pragmatic, senses, énfasis on tangible and concrete things, Strong sense of duty and responsibility.
♉ Has their sense of duty and responsibility placed on their personal gain.
♍ Has their sense of duty and responsibility placed on others. (hense why their called service-oriented).
♑ Has their sense of duty and responsibility placed on society as a whole.
When undeveloped they can be: Overly Materialistic, neurotic about things out of their control and details, unable to accept/comprehend new ideas.
AIR SIGNS:
Communication, intelectual and social activity, personal and social interrelationships.
♊ Search of intelectual and social activity in obtaining and communicating information, to satisfy own personal needs.
♎ Search of intelectual and social activity in balancing and comparing information. to satisfy needs of groups of people.

* —> not lit. mother since signs have no gender, but more the idea of, for example, mother earth.
When undeveloped they can be: Overly emotional, manipulative, possessive, secretive.
°°·.°·..·°¯°·._.· S i g n s & t h e i r q u a l i t i e s ·._.·°¯°·..·°.·°°
CARDINAL: Starts things
starters of the seasons, instigators, happiest when taking action and starting new projects.
♈ Leads others by focusing on their own goals with single minded passion. Although they have no problems leaving things once they stop being interesting for them.
♋ Leads others by creating a safe environment where people can get in tune with their emotions leading to new found emotions or new understanding of emotions.
♎ Leads people to discover new ideas (think like setting a new trend) either by proposing them or by helping other reach a common middle ground in a discussion/debate (balancing other people).
♑ Naturally leads others due to their strong and grounded personality. willing to work hard towards long term goals.
Think of it as: Aries and Capricorn are the more traditional "leaders" with aries focusing of their own goal and Capricorn in the goals of a group of people. Cancer is the emotional leader and Libra is the social leader, both not necessarily doing this in a traditional leadership way.
FIXED: Continues things
Middle of seasons, stability, resources, rewards and losses
♉ Uses the (material) resources available to them to reach their own personal goals.
♌ Uses their own (non material*) resources to further their own personal goals.

♒ Uses shared (of a group in general) resources (non material) to obtain a common goal.
* —> non material: charisma, personality, information, anything non tangible.
Think of it as: All four signs deal with the continuation of projects (where they shine) and the management of resources. Tauro (using personal resources for personal gain) and Scorpio (using shared resources for a shared goal), being opossites deal with the two extremes of the material resource management. The same is true for Aquarius and Leo only that they deal with the management of non material things.
MUTABLE: Finish things.
Finish of the seasons, more accepting of change, flexibility, diferent perspectives
♊ Actively pursues different perspectives trough non material means to find a solution to their own problems
♍ Actively pursues different perspectives trough material means to find a solution to shared problems (of a group of people)
♐ Passively pursues different perspectives trough material means to find a solution to their own problems
♓ Passively pursues different perspectives trough non material means to find a solution to shared problems (of society)
Think of it as: At the end of a project, when all is said and done its time to reflect on what happened, Gemminis actively (talk to other people, debate, etc) reflects and gets perspectives to get the solution to their own problems. Sagittarius Passively (going with the flow and absorbing all new experiences, etc) searches for answers to their own problems, using material means (traveling, reading, trying new things, etc). Virgo actively tries to find a solution to problems of other people, using material (a plan, money, etc) means to solve the problem. Piscis finds solutions to problems in society through non material (spiritualism, religion, etc) perspectives.

Obligatory OTP Asks
12, 14, 25, 30!
12. Do they have many heated arguments? How do they smooth things over?
Yeah, I'd say. Especially in the earliest stages of their relationship, even pre romance. They're both stubborn and they often clash. Wei is a bit haughty and prideful, while Bolin can be a petty bitch too. Though I think that's a good thing, considering how Bolin tends to shrink away from conflict with other romantic interests. Though I think that once they learn to put their differences aside, they deal with disagreements much more healthily.
As for dealing with each other's anger at one another, I don't know if this is particularly "smoothing it over" but I could easily see them sparring to let some steam off. Unorthodox, but it somehow works.
I think, after the combat, they will just chill and cuddle. Bolin needs reassurance that he's still loved and I don't think Wei is too fond of arguing either. Cuddling on the couch with Pabu and quietly talking out their differences is the very sweet ending to an argument.
14. How do their personalities compliment each other? How do they clash?
Wei and Bolin embody stereotypical earthbender personality traits in their own ways.
They're both stubborn, competitive and a little hardheaded, traits that would make them a force to be reckoned with if they work together, However, I think it would also be super difficult for this pair to get to the point of actually working together. They would easily argue, at least at the begining of their relationship.
Wei could get quite frustrated at Bolin not always taking things seriously. Bolin likes to make jokes and be dramatic, which at first makes Wei feel like Bolin doesn't care. However as they get to know each other, I think Wei would come to appreciate Bolin lightening the mood. I could see Wei having a tendency to fixate on and overthink things, so Bolin is often the one to help him wind down.
In turn, Wei is often the one to ground Bolin when Bo gets too hyper or too emotional.
25. Do they have any hobbies they share?
Yup, they're both big ole earthbending nerds! They're both way too happy to share and compare techniques and bending styles. I think they can learn a lot from one another too. Wei being a more traditional earthbender, while Bo is self taught on the streets.
Probending is a common interest too. Wei thinks Bolin having been a Probender very cool. He evwn used to be a fan of the Fire Ferrets, though of course he hid it from Bolin for a long time. They will often go on datea ro the Probending Arena too.
30. Your OTP gets to pick out rach other's outfits; what is each wearing?
As i implied previously, I think Wei would very much like to see Bolin in his Fire Ferrets uniform.
As for the outfit Bolin would pick for Wei... the Ginger from Nuktuk costume. I'm joking, mostly. I can very much imagine Wei often being required to dress up for fancy Earth Kingdom novle parties. I think Bolin would eat that shit right up. He'd absolutely adore seeing Wei all dressed up in silks and jewels.

🎶Astrology Observations Pt.6 🎶
⚠️Sidenote⚠️: Please take this with a grain of salt for not all of my personal observations will resonate you entirely.
Tumblr media
🎶Moon in 3H are great at speaking their emotions out to others and usually a lot of people come to them and talk about emotional problems. They can be great therapists as well.
🎶Mercury in Sagittarius/Pisces/1H tend to be breezy when it comes to communication and jumps from one topic to another.
🎶Men who are water dominant are the guys that are usually the odd-one-out from the male stereotypes and this same goes for Women who are fire dominant.
Tumblr media
🎶Sun in harsh aspects to Mars can indicate struggling asserting yourself to be confident and these people are usually shy by nature.
🎶Neptune in water houses/degree can enhance spirituality and might have psychic tendencies. Tend to be really focused with other dimensions than the real world.
🎶People say Aquarius is the weirdest sign but no one talks about Scorpios being in the same level of weirdness as Aquarians. Scorpios are known as the outcast as well but Scorpios are more reserved which is harder for people to perceive whether they are crazy or not. But once you get to know them, you will be shocked with almost everything about them, from how you see them as at first, to how they think, and to how surprising they are.
Tumblr media
🎶Taurus/Sagittarius placements may have a huge fascination for piercings or tattoos.
🎶Moon in harsh aspects with Pluto are usually the ones that have their own emotions blocking their relationships. Mostly because their emotions tend to be really intense which is sometimes overbearing for others to handle.
🎶Air Mars are the hardest when it comes to making them angry because these folks are more focused on using their rationality. They may argue but in the end if you are the one who flew off the handle, you will notice your Air Mars would just say "Why do you get so angry easily?" then there goes the huge silence after.
Tumblr media
🎶Earth Mars are slow to anger but they do get so annoyed or irritated easily especially Virgo and Taurus Mars.
🎶Scorpio/Pisces Neptune have great intuitions and may have the possibility of being a clairvoyant or a tarot reader.
🎶I've noticed a lot of Air Signs are intrigued by Scorpio's mysteriousness and depth because air signs are known for being curious and Scorpio doesn't easily open up to anyone which makes the air sign crave for knowing more about them.
Tumblr media
🎶Also isn't it ironic that your opposite sign is suppose to be the sign you have nothing in common with but unfortunately it's actually the sign beside your opposite sign that has nothing in common with you.
Example: Both Sagittarius and Gemini are opposite signs but they have a lot of common traits such as being curious, adventurous, and inquisitive. But Sagittarius and Cancer or Taurus have nothing in common knowing Sagittarius is a risk taker who wants to experience and expand their visions to the world while Cancer and Taurus feels comfortable in its comfort zone, feeling secured.
🎶Aquarius Risings are usually easily recognized, there's just something about them that stands out from others. Also they are really entertaining.
🎶Aquarius x Scorpio friendship dynamic = Talking about aliens and demons 24/7 and would actually start an occult lmao
Tumblr media
🎶Pisces/Aries moons may have tendencies of easily forgetting things and also not remembering where they placed a specific item. You can really see them having that confused or scattered look while moving around to find something.
🎶Cancer/Taurus placements 🤝 Listening to slow music on a winters night while drinking hot cocoa with blankets and pillows around them.
🎶Scorpio/Aries risings are resourceful and wouldn't mind cheating as long as they finish, then that's it. For them, it's called being efficient.
Tumblr media
🎶Libra or Sagittarius Sun/Moon/Venus are the ones who fangirls/fanboys so much over a scene from an anime series when things become really intense.
🎶Saturn in 12H/9H/Virgo/Gemini might be interested in learning about history and literature.
🎶Neptune/Pluto in harmonious aspects with the Ascendant have this alluring and magnetic aura that captivates people easily.
Tumblr media
🎶Capricorn/Cancer Venus always treats their friends like family and will always be there for them when they are in their toughest times.
🎶If the 1H is your house chart ruler, you might be considered as a charming and good-looking person. A lot of people tend to like you because of your loving nature but sometimes you can be vain or arrogant.
🎶Aries/Gemini placements 🤝 Forever young and all they want is to have fun.
🎶Pisces or Gemini Sun/Mercury can easily escape from any situation they are stuck in.
Tumblr media
🎶Virgo Moons are actually more sensitive than you think they are. Once a Virgo moon is getting anxious and overwhelmed, they wouldn't be able to concentrate properly and would eventually break into pieces.
🎶Its quite tough for us, Virgo moons, in dealing with life since we are always here to put in our efforts to the table but get little to nothing in return and in the end, we are always the one who cares the most.
🎶Also Virgo moons are usually the ones who are used to being the "helper" knowing that they are always at service towards others but no one is there to help them when they need it so all they can do is rely on themselves independently.
Tumblr media
🎶Libra moon is the least indecisive compared to the other Libra placements because the moon guides Libra to choose base on their heart's decision
🎶Having Aries degree(1°, 13°, 25°) in your Ascendant can indicate having more masculine features or qualities. Might be assertive, self-confident, and bold
🎶A lot of people often mistaken Libra as a feminine sign, sorry y'all but Libra is a handsome man🤸🤸🤸
All those GIFs are from a music video by NCT called ✨Regular✨ and yes, this is the second time I placed a whole ass music video/teaser in my astrology observations lmao. Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed this long ass ride and don't forget to stream Regular by NCT hehe...Regular huh? 😂😂💀(Only nctzens will understand this lol)

❦ aries, taurus, gemini and cancer are the youngest of their elements, compared to the elements they belong to, these four are most likely to act more impulsive and rational than the other signs, we all know aries as the baby of the zodiac, it is also the baby of the fire signs, hence, it's needs to always want to be in control, to want to try things first and always fixing situations rationally and less tactful than it's brothers.
❦ along with taurus, the second youngest sign; as it belonging to the calm, stable and thoughtful element, earth, it is still known as the bull of astrology, like it's first neighbour, aries, taurus is most likely going to go through situations head in first while looking down, mainly if it is pushed that way, therefore the reason why taurus mars are very slow to anger but when they reach that level it's like a bull when they see the colour red.
❦ as with gemini, the third youngest sign; this doesnt necessarily got to do with anger, this mainly got to do with the way they communicate, unlike its siblings, libra and aquarius, geminis are least likely going to be the one who "thinks" before they speak, especially with their witty nature, yes, gemini is still intelligent but they're still most likely going to say something out of order like a toddler/child who randomly speaks about their family issues.
❦ lastly with cancer, the fourth youngest sign; there's many things to say about this sign, thus it stereotypically known to be the manipulative cry-babies who are clingy to their family and mainly mother, this is a sign that is experiencing their emotions the most compared to the younger signs, therefore not knowing how to express itself correctly, keep in mind that cancer is the last youngest sign before it reaches the middle kids, leo, virgo, libra and scorpio, and we all know how kids are when they're reaching their pre-teens, or you could say, puberty.

Eskel/Jaskier: AU where Jaskier met Eskel instead of Geralt and wrote Toss a Coin for him instead - scar kissing/appreciation - "guess love is a response/of the body it haunts"
This took me longer to write than I would have wanted, so thank you for waiting! This is... pure fluff. Hope it’s worth the wait, thank you for the lovely prompt!
CW: mildly horny towards the end, but otherwise it’s only fluff!
"I love the way you just sit in the corner and brood."
Eskel raises his head from where he’s been staring at his spit flavoured ale to meet a pair of twinkling blue eyes.
The bardling can't be more than eighteen, fresh-faced and smelling of arousal as he looks at the Witcher appraisingly. Eskel expects him to recoil at the sight of his scars in the low tavern light, but the bard's eyes only widen with interest, and he slides into the opposite empty seat, leaning his lute against the table.
"Oooh, you're a Witcher, aren't you?" He asks with barely restrained excitement. "I could tell from the other side of the room you were filled with stories. How about I buy you an ale, and you tell me some of them?"
Eskel snorts. "And how are you planning to pay for that ale? Stale bread?" He nods towards the bulges where the bard stuffed the food thrown at him after his less than appreciated performance.
"Well, no," the man deflates, but not for long, his carefree smile returning along a flirty wink, "but I'm sure we can find an arrangement."
The Witcher rises from his seat, leaving his untouched ale and a couple of coins on the table. "I do not bed teenagers."
That earns him an offended splutter from the bard, who doesn't take the hint and follows him through the tavern. "I'm not… I can assure you that I am a man. An adult man." His voice breaks a little on the last syllable and Eskel smirks.
"Want to try that again?" He asks, but before the bard has a chance to reply, a man interrupts them. There is fear in his voice when he asks for Eskel's help with a so-called devil haunting his fields, and the way his eyes keep going back to the Witcher's scars shouldn't make Eskel so uncomfortable, but it does. He still accepts the job.
*
After the whole debacle with the elves, Jaskier follows Eskel back to the inn, strumming his lute with a spring in his step despite the bruise on his forehead and the tears in his doublet. Eskel informs the man who hired him of his deal with the elves, collects his meagre pay, and immediately spends half of it for a warm meal. He sits in the same corner as this morning, and forgets all about the whole ordeal for the time it takes to fill his stomach.
His peace is temporary, as Jaskier takes back his place in the middle of the room, undeterred by his earlier flop, and starts strumming the same melody he’s been composing on their way back to Posada. And then he starts singing.
The song is… embarrassing. Jaskier doesn’t pay attention to the first hollers and insults from the patrons who recognize him, his eyes rarely leaving Eskel, who sits still, mortified, as he discovers the lyrics at the same time as everyone else.
By the end, the complaints have turned to cheers and stomping, and Jaskier’s cheeks are ruddy with exertion. He accepts to play the song a second time, then follows with popular jigs and bawdy tales that have the drunks singing and the others getting drunker. His attention strays from Eskel, though he still spares him smiles and winks when he happens to pass by his table.
Eskel should leave, he knows. The sun will go down soon, and he still has to find a place to set up camp. But he’s stuck to the bench, people throwing coins at him, clapping him in the back. The bartender even slides a free ale in front of him, with a grateful though reluctant nod. It doesn’t even smell of spit.
A warmth spreads in his chest that has nothing to do with the alcohol, and it only flares brighter every time Jaskier sends a smile his way. It takes him a while to identify this emotion, practised as he is at ignoring them. It’s gratefulness. Not for the people thanking him for ridding them of the elves, though that is a nice change. No, he is the one being grateful for the bard who met an old, grumpy Witcher and decided to see a hero worthy of ballads instead.
Eskel knows the bard benefits from it too, his pockets clinking with coin, knows the friendliness of the villagers will only last as long as alcohol fogs their stereotypes and superstitions, but he can’t help but revel in it, hoarding warmth and comfort as much as he can before he goes back to the cold loneliness of the Path.
Just after the sun sets, but long before the impromptu party is over, Eskel slinks outside, stomach full, a little tipsy on ale and joy. He doesn’t want to wait until alcohol makes the mean ones meaner and pushes them to try starting a fight with him. The bard has earned his success, Eskel won’t be the one to ruin it. He meets Scorpion on the outskirts of the city, caresses his velvety nose as the horse sniffs at his pockets for some treats.
“That was a good day, boy,” the Witcher tells his horse. “We shouldn’t get used to it, though. That’s how you get disappointed.”
Traveling with a human is a change Eskel struggles to adapt to, though it is admittedly nice. The boy is a smart one, cultured and quick-witted, but he doesn't know anything about life. His noble upbringing quickly becomes obvious to Eskel, the lack of basic knowledge like making a fire or cooking food revealing themselves on the first evening of their acquaintance. Eskel doesn't mind teaching the boy. It seems like the thing to do to thank the bard for the song, and for the company.
Before he finds himself maudlin longer, Eskel swings a leg over the saddle, and directs Scorpion to the South. Rapid footsteps echo behind him, and he turns to find the bard running in his direction, lute banging on his back and pockets heavy with the night’s earnings. The warmth that had bloomed in Eskel’s chest in the tavern buries itself deeper.
*
He doesn't expect the boy to stay long, maybe a week or two, until he's tired of sore feets and sleeping on hard ground, or he finds another "muse*, like he insists on calling Eskel.
But he stays, following Eskel everywhere, unless the Witcher insists he stays back at camp while he goes on a dangerous hunt, or he finds something of interest in a town they go through and decides to stay a couple more days. He always catches up, though, finding Eskel in whatever clearing he's set up camp and sitting at his side like they've never parted. It's nice, Eskel admits to himself. To have someone to talk to, about everything from music and art to monsters and magic. He finds himself brooding less and less, his mind focused on the colourful bard chatting next to him rather than on his own dark thoughts.
It comes slowly, he thinks, it buries itself under his skin, filling his every crevice without him noticing, but it's like falling from the edge of a cliff when he finally realises: he's happy.
He's been happy for a while. Since the ridiculous, optimistic, flirty bard entered his life.
He thinks about running, leaving Jaskier behind, before the inevitable happens and Eskel is left with a heart emptier than it was before. He could survive the loneliness when he had nothing else to compare it to; he's not sure he can go back to it now.
But he's not like his brothers, running from his feelings or translating all of them into anger. He takes the time to think about it, and decides that he'll take the risk. Jaskier doesn't look or smell like he has any intention of leaving Eskel's side for the moment, and Eskel has no intention of letting anything happen to the bard.
So he stays, and gets used to the company. It's surprisingly easy.
*
Winter is close, and Eskel finds himself feeling maudlin. Soon, Jaskier will head towards Oxenfurt to spend the season in warm lodgings, between some pretty girl's thighs, and wait for the sun to come back. Eskel will depart for Kaer Morhen, if he wants to get to the pass before it gets snowed in.
They've talked about it, and agreed to meet in the spring, but it doesn't keep Eskel from wishing they could stay together. He won't keep Jaskier from his plans, though, the bard sounding happy every time he mentions the friends he has at the Academy and his favourite inns to play at, where everyone, even the lowest drunkard, knows how to appreciate good music and poetry.
He shouldn't ask for more, he knows. The bard already gives him so much; his friendship and his songs and his smiles.
The day before they part, they pay for a room in an inn close to the crossroad where they’ll have to say goodbye to each other, and Eskel spends the afternoon knees deep in murky water to rid the local pond of a particularly aggressive bloedzuiger. It’s not dangerous, just long and damp, and his already foul mood sours even more. Back at the inn, Eskel leaves muddy puddles on the way to their room.
Jaskier hasn’t moved from the bed, where he is writing down his latest composition in the leather bound notebook that never leaves his side, along with his lute. He raises his eyes as Eskel enters the room, nose scrunching up at the Witcher’s state.
“I asked for a bath,” Eskel grumbles, unbuckling his armour and putting it close to the crackling fireplace to dry.
“Oh, good,” Jaskier chuckles. “Everything suits you, my dear, but I can’t say I like the smell of dead fish on you.”
Eskel snorts, but doesn’t reply, as the innkeeper’s daughter knocks on the door and sets to filling a modest tub with tepid water. He thanks her, and waits for her to close the door behind herself before undressing completely and stepping into the bath. It’s not Kaer Morhen’s hot springs, but it does soothe the ache in his bones that always settles when it gets cold. He sighs, relaxing after the frustrating contract, and doesn’t notice Jaskier has moved until he’s right behind him.
It should unsettle him that the bard can sneak up on his Witcher senses, but it has become a recurring occurrence, and Eskel doesn’t mind it so much. He likes being able to lower his guard with someone who’s not his brothers or Vesemir.
Nimble fingers thread in his hair, and he suppresses a shudder at the pleasant sensation. “What are you doing?” he asks without opening his eyes.
“Helping you clean that mess,” Jaskier replies in a low voice, almost a murmur.
Eskel hums, not seeing a reason to refuse the offer. The bard’s fingers on his scalp feel divine, and a purr builds in his chest as he slowly melts into a puddle. “That feels nice.”
Jaskier doesn’t reply, but he doesn’t stop either, even when he’s done with Eskel’s hair. His hands trail down to the Witcher’s neck and shoulders, digging into the muscles there with both strength and care. Eskel’s hard prick bobs in the water, but he doesn’t do anything about it. He knows the bard would accept enthusiastically if Eskel were to proposition him; he hasn’t stopped smelling of lust and ogling Eskel even after all these months, but that’s not what the Witcher wants at the moment.
The hands on his shoulders have traded their massage for featherlight caresses, trailing down old scar tissue and up again, teasing and tickling the sensitive skin. Touch purely for touch’s sake. Eskel hums again and Jaskier chuckles, a puff of air brushing the damp skin of Eskel’s neck. “What are you thinking about?”
“Come with me to Kaer Morhen,” the Witcher says before he has time to talk himself out of it.
The silence that follows is short but Eskel has the time to regret everything that has led him to that moment, until a pair of soft lips caresses the curve of his shoulder, where a werewolf bit out a chunk of flesh thirty years ago and left only a jagged silver scar. Jaskier follows it from one end of the half-moon to the other, then breathes against Eskel’s skin, “I’d be honoured.”
And the warmth in Eskel’s chest makes itself a home there.

You were walking down the hallway just hoping that you won’t run into someone. You got to your locker and tried to put the combination so it can open. After struggling for a few minutes you were able to finally get it opened. ‘Stupid locker,’ you thought to yourself annoyed. You hoped that it would be quiet but then you heard it.
You heard the screams of females. You already know who had arrived. Chris Hemsworth. He was the stereotypical jock and the most popular guy at school. Everybody loved him, even some guys liked him. He has the looks, the body, the money, and the height.
He was basically every girl’s dream guy. The screams got louder as he approached you, and you could hear what they were saying.
You heard some of the following: “Ahh Chris please take me!”, “Please date me! I’ll a better girlfriend!”, or “Please take me to prom!” that’s right prom was coming up and you know everybody is trying to ask out Chris, but for some reason, he just rejected all of them.
You noticed that he was looking at you and you began to go into a frenzy. You tried to get everything you need and walk away but God wasn’t on your side and Chris shut your locker closed and trapping you between his big biceps.
Everybody was looking at you and the girls looked at you with jealousy. He just looked at you before grabbing your arm and dragging you away. You, of course, struggled to try and get out of his grip but he just wouldn’t let you go. And either way, he was way stronger than you.
(Those biceps tho)
He dragged you away into a secluded area. He then pinned you against the wall. Your height was nothing compared to his height of being over 6 feet tall. He just stared at you before speaking. He finally spoke and he said it, something you thought he would never say to you.
“Do you want to go to prom with me?” he said, it sounds more like a demand than kindly. You just stand there shocked at what he said. “Yes or no?!” he was getting angrier as you couldn’t decide. You finally responded, “No.” Chris just looked at you with disbelief. His hands fell to his sides. You took that opportunity to run.
‘He rejected me?! Reject me!! Why would he reject me! I Have everything!’ Chris was fuming with anger as he clutching his fists. Chris was a bit psychotic. ‘You should’ve said yes.’ Chris thought to himself, smiling crazily.
CUTBACK TO YOU.
You were able to escape his grasp and make your way to your first period. You arrived and took your seat by the window, you heard someone pulled the chair next to you. You look and it was your B/F and some of your other friends.
“Hey, you okay? Chris dragged away and who knows what he could’ve done to you!” they asked worriedly because Chris was someone you shouldn’t mess with.
“He asked me out to prom--- and I said no?” you replied after pausing on the no part. Your friends looked at you with shock, “You did what now?!” your B/f  screamed, getting the attention of everyone.
“Can you keep it down!” you said with embarrassment as everyone looking in your direction. “Sorry, but he asked you out? Why would you say no?” your B/F question and your other friends agreed, “I rejected him because he’s too full of himself and he has a big ego. And either way how much damage can he do?” your friends didn’t question you further.
Just then Chris walked and the girls began crowding around him. He told them to leave him alone, and they walked back to their seats. You, of course, ignored him and did your own thing, but Chris was just staring at you and it made you feel uncomfortable.
‘He’s so cute, his beautiful H/C, his smooth S/C, he must put lotion to make it soft. Oh, I wish I could just touch him again! I don’t like how his friends are close to him, I want to be the one that’s close to him! But my ego won’t let me do that. Don’t worry M/N soon me and you will be together whether you like it or not!’
Time Skip (TO GYM CLASS. How else hates gym?)
My friends and I arrived at the gym. The doors to the gym automatically opened. Did I forget to mention that the school enabled automatic doors because sometimes students would skip class and just open the doors to the gym. They got it because the door would close once the bell rings.
Anyway, M/n arrived with his friends, and they see that everyone is preparing the gym for prom. You helped around with the preparations until you fell someone’s gaze on you, you turned around scanning the room but you didn’t see anyone looking at you.
Until you noticed Chris in the corner flirting with the girls, you just shrugged your shoulders and went back to work.
Time skip to the end of the day
You said goodbye to my friends and began my walk home. As you were walking you could feel someone staring, it was like a sixth sense of yours. You looked around and saw nobody, only a few kids from your school walking in the same direction but none of them was looking at you.
You farther away, and you could still sense the presence of someone behind you. You finally arrived home, and you quickly locked all doors and windows in the house so that nobody can get in.
You laid down on your bed after taking everything. You fell asleep fast. Through the window, Chris was just staring at you like he always does sometimes he’ll unlock the lock, and touch you in your sleep.
Time Skip to Friday morning, 6:00 AM
Your alarm clock went off signaling that its morning. You could see the sun’s rays through the curtains. You stared at the ceiling for a good 5 minutes before actually getting up.
You did your daily routine and went downstairs to make breakfast. After you made it, you took your food and went to go watch TV. But then the news came on.
You didn’t pay much attention until. “Reports show a student from H/S/N brutally murder. The following image is graphic and contains violence so if you have children please turn them away.” it then flashed to the dead body of…
Your B/F. you were shocked then you felt tears pour out. Your long-time best friend was dead. You decided to miss that day.
For the next few days, your friends began disappearing one by one. The police didn’t know who was doing this.
It was Thursday and tomorrow will be Prom night. Apparently, at your school, you’re required to attend prom. (for plot reasons) It was the end of the school day. And you were about to start walking home until Chris walked in front of you and said:
“Hey, M/n you should be careful while walking. I heard your friends have gone missing these days and because… I know we don’t have a good history together but of course, I still care about you. So stay safe.” and then he just walked away. You stand there confused about what he just said but you just shrugged it off.
Time Skip (Friday, Prom night)
You entered the gym and just stand there while everyone else was dancing, drinking, and talking to their friends. ‘I don’t wanna be here! I just wanna go home.’ the dance continued then they will prom king and queen.
‘I wish my friends were here.’ tears were threatening to pour out but you held it in. Then the principal came on the microphone to announce prom king and queen. ‘Good evening everyone, I hope your all having a good time. We’ll be announcing prom king and queen!” everybody started clapping and cheering.
You already know who the prom king will be. “Prom king goes to-- Chris Hemsworth!” the principal said with everybody clapping and congratulating for his win. “And prom queen is R/G/N!” everybody again started clapping. Both Chris and R/G/N went onto the stage so they receive their crowns and start to slow dance.
Everything was normal until the lights turned red and the automatic doors closed shut. Everybody was confused about what was going on. Just then a spotlight that was installed at the top of the gym fell and landed right onto R/G/N. Her blood spattered on everyone close to the setup stage.
This soon turns everyone into a panic. Tables were knocked down, everybody was crowding at the doors trying to get out. Then the water sprinklers went off and then all the spotlights fell from the ceiling igniting a fire.
Now everyone was in a complete frenzy. All around you all you could was fire, some were on fire. Then you passed out from the smoke filling the room.
Time skip (3:00 AM)
You woke and you see that you were tied to the bed in someone’s room. You know it isn’t your room then the TV turned on. It was the news. “What was a night of enjoyment turned horrible real quick. I am right in front of H/S/N or what’s left of it, during the prom dance a fire broke out and the automatic doors closed instantly trapping everyone inside. But this young man, Chris Hemsworth, was able to open the door. Even it was open 200 students have lost their live--”
Then the TV turned off and the door. There you see Chris at the doorway, he began to walk closer to you. Then he spoke, “You’re so beautiful, I finally have you all to myself.” he was also touching you.
You are left shock at what was happening, so many questions began circling in your head, “Did he do this?” “Does he like me?!” “was he the one that killed my friends?!”
“If you’re wondering then yes I was the one who did all of this. I was the one you killed all of your friends, and yes I do like you. I like you ever since I first saw you. Now your mine”
You just stared at him soaking in all of this new information before lashing out at him. “Why did you this?! Why did you kill my friends?! Was it you that killed almost everyone at pro-” you were cut off by Chris pressing his lips against yours. He kissed you a few minutes before pulling to let you breathe.
“Why? Will, maybe you should’ve said yes to me. And none of this would have happened. Your friends will still be alive and everyone that died on prom night would still be alive…
But that doesn’t matter now, they’ve died and you’re with me forever. You belong to me and won’t ever let you go.” you passed out from drama and you heard this last thing before darkness consumed you.
“You should’ve said yes.”
Did I use, “You should’ve said yes?” too many times? And did you get the movie reference I used? Comment on what reference I used.

RiverClan: Culture
VALUES
Despite their challenging hunting habits - and because of it - RiverClan cats have an incredibly easy life compared to the rest of the Clans. Because of this, their priorities have shifted from protecting their borders and chasing away rogues to preserving the widespread culture of warrior life. It is far more valuable in their eyes to be a skilled storyteller than a well-built fighter. Some scoff at RiverClan overall, but the truth is that an immense amount of stories and lessons would have been lost to the ages if it wasn’t for these otter-cats.
It’s not just old tales that are treasured; creativity in the modern day is celebrated as well. Cats of all ages love to recite fables they came up with themselves, as well as the unusual art known as thruu-fer, which covers a variety of patterns of speech that are used to express feeling or a joke or, of course, a story. Inspiring strong emotion in the heart of the listener is the end goal of thruu-fer, whether during some kind of ceremony or just for fun when the night is winding down.
HABITS
Things are quite lax in RiverClan. There is almost no set schedule beyond what time everyone tends to wake up, and even that varies season to season. Patrols are more improvised than planned, with one cat going out to check on things or hunt and being joined by some bored Clanmates. Nothing is really taken too seriously, which causes action on RiverClan’s part to be pretty slow and done over long periods of thinking. Being patient with RiverClan is a skill one must learn, and ThunderClan in particular cannot comprehend their way of life.
Prefixes are very “poetic” here - while fitting to the cat’s pelt, there is always a special reason of some kind behind the choices the mother made. Themed litters are common, such as naming all the kits after trees, or fish, or the night they were born. Because these cats are almost always bicolor, all prefixes are open to use, even if they don’t usually reference white in their definition (Night- can be used for a black-and-white cat, for example). Beyond that, unusual phenomenon are also popular for names (Lightning-, Fire-, Blizzard-), as well as the Three’s prefixes (Lion-, Leopard-, Tiger-).
VERNACULAR
While not exactly drawling, RiverClan speaks fairly slowly and with a lilt to their enunciations that is not quite standard to most cats. It has not incorrectly been compared to speaking with a songbird. Wordplay is common, as are joking statements said so casually and with such confidence that outsiders may think they’re being told the truth. All the more fun for these swimmers to build on the lie and escalate it until it becomes too ludicrous to be real. It’s become a game to mess with visitors this way and see how far the joke can be taken.
Despite their lackadaisical nature, conversation etiquette is taken very seriously. Interrupting someone is extremely rude and will incite genuine anger from a RiverClan cat. It doesn’t matter if they talk slowly or not - you will let them finish their sentence. Along with this, speaking aggressively, even as a joke, is not allowed in a friendly exchange. There is some leniency if one has to call out from a distance, but in general, avoid talking loudly, as that also invites aggression and robs the conversation of its fun.
CHARACTERISTICS
RiverClan is commonly stereotyped as being lazy, overly-open, difficult to bother and constantly joking. This is a completely accurate summary of their character.
Because of the simplicity of their working life, they are very relaxed and spend time dozing throughout the day or sitting around telling stories. They don’t quite get why everyone else is so serious about everything, even with their vague understanding of how much harder the other Clans seem to have it. They are friendly with outsiders (except ThunderClan, of course) and are the most welcoming to cats transferring into their Clan. Their life is, weirdly, the hardest to adjust to, as it requires a cat defying their instincts to avoid the water, often having to stand in the open for hours to dry off, since their coats are not meant for swimming. Not to even mention the amount of fun-poking at a newcomer until they’re fully immersed in RiverClan life.
With all of this said, RiverClan is not as stupid or thoughtless as it may have been impressed. No one thinks much of them as a threat, which suits them just fine. Their strength lies in their understated cunning and ability to reform their plans around unusual circumstances or sudden changes. With their skill for unorthodox problem-solving, it may be easier to attack once, but it’s going to be a lot harder to keep up a continuous advantage, as ThunderClan has learned over time.

Sun Signs Vs. Moon Signs
Your sun sign in astrology is your ego, personality, will, a fundamental sense of self. The best way I had it described to me was the sun sign is what you strive to be. Your moon sign is deeper, more subconscious in the way it presents itself in people. The moon represents your desires, your emotions, the things we keep internalized, longings, who you are when you are alone. If the sun “strives to be”, the moon simply “is”. The moon is not put on or aspired to, it is what is under the surface, inherently a part of us. It bubbles and desires and lives under the sun, impacting us heavily in how we relate to others, what we need out of those relationships, and how we bound about others. For the sun think the outer jazz hands of who we are, moon think deep, what you see after you get to really know someone and engage with them emotionally. Here are some key differences between the SUN in the signs and the MOON in the signs:
Aries Sun: Aries is a fire sign and also the first sign of the zodiac, the newborn baby of the signs, so to say. The Sun is also exalted in Aries which means it is at home in this combination, it is comfortable here. The Sun likes being in the motivated, action-driven sign of Aries. While a sun and moon in Aries share many characteristics, there are some key differences, one of which being the sun can be less aggressive than the moon. The Aries sun people have a lot of energy, but are usually less reactive than the Aries moon will be. Both share the qualities of being childlike, competitive, and a tendency towards being argumentative. The Aries sun can contain their nature better than the Aries moon can which means they will come across more composed than an Aries moon. Aries sun people are generally brave and pioneers who enjoy a challenge.
Aries Moon: The moon is where all the quintessential fiery Aries characteristics are very apparent. They have lots of mental energy and fire and passion, in the feminine planet of the moon. The masculine energy of Aries and the feminine moon colliding can make for some explosive inner conflict, as the moon is not  at ease in this placement. The Aries, ruled by mars, wants action, while the feminine moon wants stability and softness. Aries moon can be a very strong placement that can overpower a less bold sun sign (i.e. pisces) and it may make the person appear more Aries-like than Piscean to those close to them. This moon sign burns hot and bright, feels a lot, and can be ready for a fight at any moment. It doesn’t mean that they are always arguing, but the potential for an argumentative personality when they are emotionally provoked is there for a less evolved person. An aries moon can be more playful than the sun, as it has more raw Aries energy, in the placement of emotions and desires (the moon).
Taurus Sun: Taurus is an earth sign, the sign of the bull, and the sun in Taurus is more of the quintessential bull stereotype when compared to the moon in Taurus. It is protective, strong, and solid. It is more visibly Taurus, as the sun, than it is in the moon. The fixed nature of the Taurus is more apparent here, as well. Fixed signs are stubborn and can be set in their ways, and those can be traits displayed by Taurus Suns. Taurus can be more shallow in the sun than in the moon, because it is striving to be Taurus like, while the moon just is. They enjoy the finer things in life like food, music, nice scenery, all things that delight the senses, but they are less overindulgent than the moon signs, typically. Taurus sun is also less tactful and sensitive to other’s feelings than the moon. Taurus suns stubborn personality can be their asset when they use it to accomplish their goals, they can be extremely determined. They work hard to obtain the things they want that can help them relax and feel comfortable, they are working for an end, not just working to work. They want their hard work to pay off and lead to a more comfortable, secure life.
Taurus Moon: The Taurus moon is softer than the sun, more graceful, and more refined. They can have an apparent softness or femininity to them the suns lack. They are more sensitive than the sun with their own feelings and with others’. Taurus loves the finer things in life but the moon sign, being the deeper more inherent manifestation of Taurus energy, just exudes a sensuality and feeling of comfort. They can be described as coming across as “chill”. They are also more indulgent in all things comfort and sensual, than the sun signs, and can get lost in laziness more easily. They are stubborn, but it comes from a deeper place, either evoked by an emotional trigger, or stubborn about their emotions. Both placements have a need for security and stability, but the moon sign will suffer greatly emotionally without it. They also love, love, because Taurus is ruled by Venus (planet of love), and are in the soft feminine moon here...this makes them real lovers of love. They will dote on the one they love and spoil them with romantic gifts and things that indulge one’s senses.
Gemini Sun: Gemini, Gemini, Gemini, you can be so fun in the sun! You can also be incredibly “put on”. The sun in Gemini “strives to be” seen as intelligent, quick witted, and interesting and more times than not they are...but it can come across as shallowness to others. Gemini is a cerebral air sign, in their heads with very active minds. The sun tends to  be more of the social butterfly when compared to the Gemini moon. They are more intense than the moons, as if they want to appear easy going, but inside they are not. They are less about asking questions and more about providing answers, than the moon in Gemini is. They are the fun aloof friend at the party working the room, or the dry factual friend who is giving out information and facts (that maybe no one asked for) depending on their other placements. They want a mental connection first and foremost, which is a trait they share with the Gemini moon placement.
Gemini Moon: The Gemini moon is also restless, cerebral, and intellectual but they tend to be more in their head than the sun. They are very naturally curious for curiousity’s sake, and less showy about their knowledge. Yet, still Gemini is ruled by mercury, the planet of communication, so communication is a vital need gemini moon’s have. They can sometimes take that to the extreme and end up being gossips and collect information about those around them but that is not always the case. They are internally restless, easily bored, minds constantly in motion. They come across as easier, breezier people than the sun signs do. They are more willing to say they do not know something than the sun signs, because remember, they are not striving to be seen as curious, they just are. They also long for a twin flame or a partnership, preferably made by mental connection first. They can have a hard time making decisions and experience a lot of anxiety because there is so much constant mental activity happening here. Crave communication.
Cancer Sun: They behave outwardly more like a Cancer than the Cancer moons do, meaning they ACT on the desires of a cancer more. A Cancer likes security, the sun will go out and get it, while the moon will FEEL the desires for security but may have a harder time going out to get it. A Cancer sun takes more action than a cancer moon to change a situation they don’t like. Both the sun and the moon have strong survival and self protective instincts. They are the crab after all, they have tough outer shells but are mushy inside. The suns are lighter than the moons and tend to have a goofy, if not wacky, sense of humor. Both signs place an importance on family, or those in their life they make into their family (doesn’t have to be their birth family, chosen family is just as important to them), but the Cancer sun is less of a homebody than the Cancer moon is. The sun is more outwardly Cancer presenting, meaning they will go into a space and make it comfortable for others and home-like. They can have strong leadership skills but won’t lead in a typical way, it will be more encouraging people to unite under a common goal, than strictly delegation. Cancer suns are less of the motherly cancer stereotype than the cancer moon. Once they come out of their shells, they will express very raw authentic feelings to those close to them.
Cancer Moon: The Cancer moon is right at home in this placement. The moon is the ruling planet of cancer, so it is the sign in the planet that rules it, so soft and mushy...these people are highly sensitive! They are so at home here, it is easy to get stuck in their feelings and brood or mope. Less evolved cancer moons can sulk and throw pity parties, but an evolved cancer moon will learn to accept their level of sensitivity and know when to put up boundaries and when to let others in. Cancer moons FEEL like a cancer, they feel the desires or emotions that are stereotypical to the Cancer energy: nurturing, needing security, desire for family or family-like belonging. They also tend to express their anger through crying, as they are very soft inside. They are BABY. They have the tendency toward being passive aggressive to others and to be manipulative to protect themselves before they mature. A cancer moon can be a gift to have around when they have matured and know how to handle HOW MUCH THEY FEEL, which is a lot! It also means they are highly empathetic and nurturing to those they love, once they let them in.
Leo Sun: Leo is a fire sign and often characterized as the lion. A Leo is more at home in the sun placement than the moon, all fire signs are really. The sun “strives to be” whatever sign they are in and Leo is no exception! Leo’s are playful, flamboyant, all things glam and glitter (doesn’t mean they are dressed in bedazzled denim head to toe, their personalities take on those sparkly shapes!) They like to be the leader, they enjoy and thrive off in situations where they can garner some attention or praise. The suns tend to be more of the stereotypical male lion, than the moon, strutting around commanding attention and can have a regal air to them. They can also be very gregarious and generous in return with the attention they languish on those around them that they love. They are more of the leo that will laugh at their own jokes, they are more performative than the moons. Both placements are playful and creative.
Leo Moon: A leo moon is more of the lionness, less about the strutting, more about the hunting. They can be tough and serious when threatened. A leo moon is less striving to be seen as confident and just “is”, when compared to a leo sun. This placement is less bark and more bite. Leo is also an energy that wants to push forward, dream big, take risks, and the moon likes to hold back, be safe, and long for security. Those are dueling energies (leo and the moon), which can create an inner moodiness in a leo moon. They don’t show off as much as a leo sun, but can be surprisingly warmer than the suns can be. When you get close to them and see how their moon is at work you will see they have a lot of inner fire. They can behave very dramatically or react dramatically when emotional. They need attention from those they love. The suns play to the crowd and any attention can fill that need, but the moons need attention from those closest to them. They are more protective, like a lioness, of those they love than the sun, male lion is. Leo is also a fixed sign which makes these people emotionally stubborn. But generally people with a leo moon are optimistic, creative, and big dreamers like their sun sign counterparts, they just display it differently. They are the leo that will laugh with you at YOUR jokes.
Virgo Sun: Virgo suns are the analyzers. Again, the sun strives to be, so they want to project the virgo image of having it together, it doesn’t mean that is how they feel inside or on an emotional level. The stereotypes of cleanliness and anal retentive behavior can be true but it is very much just a stereotype. The suns are actually less likely to be organized than the moons are. Virgo suns can be more of an outward projection of that perfection people associate with the sign of virgo. They want to inform others on the best way to live their lives, virgo moons more often feel internal pressure to live up to whatever standard they believe in. That does not mean Virgo suns are arrogant, they believe it is good and loving to help those around them live the best life they can and be the best them they can be! They are not trying to be naggy or know it alls, they truly believe in improvement and self betterment and they will share that knowledge with you. They can be incredibly humble people and can be self critical as they want to project a certain level of “having it togetherness”. They are also incredibly driven when they do invest in a skill or want to learn something they learn everything they can and can become experts in whatever their interests are as a result. They are not boring, as they can be portrayed (no one is boring, just different from you) but they do usually like to have fun in a way that they still feel safe and feels healthy to them.
Virgo Moon: The moon is internally more of the stereotypical virtues related to the sign of virgo, than the sun is. They can be more stressed and anxious than the sun if they don’t live up to the ideals of perfection or the “right way to do something”, in their mind. They need to feel productive, whatever productive means to them. They are very analytical and detail oriented, more so than the suns. They also tend to be more reserved and gentle than the suns. The virgo energy gets projected inward a lot of the time with the moon placement, so they feel critical of THEMSELVES, more than others, which can lead to poor self esteem. It does not mean they can’t be critical of those around them, they can. When they feel out of control emotionally they can begin to project that need for safety and doing things”the right way” onto others. They have to learn how to accept their imperfections and others or they will suffer emotionally. They tend to be more actions based, as an earth sign, than verbal, but are generally introspective souls.
Libra Sun: Libra suns are the more social of the two libra placements. These are the social butterflies of the zodiac, with their outward charm, grace, and preoccupation with beauty. Libra is ruled by venus (planet of love and beauty) so in any libra placement beauty will be of importance. The sun is more concerned with people pleasing than the moon in libra is, at least on a more superficial level. They are also more confident about their beauty than the moon in libra is, which surprisingly can make them less preoccupied with it. They can go to a party and have a hair out of place and still believe in their ability to come across as beautiful, a moon in libra will be very distracted knowing that hair is out of place and have a harder time letting go and becomes preoccupied with whatever beauty related flaw they are displaying. These people can be naturally very flirty, so much so, they may not know when they are doing it or they may not be flirting at all they are just that charming and pleasant to be around. The need for people to like them can lead to some shallow behavior at times and they can be almost aggressively nice. They may actually care less about others than the moon sign because they can be very concerned about whether or not they are liked versus do they like you and want to know you. Libra suns are much more likely to casually date around than a libra moon would be. There is usually something inherently aesthetically pleasing about a libra sun, even if they’re not conventionally attractive and they usually have a large group of friends.
Libra Moon: Unlike the libra sun, the libra moon would not be interested in casually dating for the long term, because a libra moon placement is all about partnership. These people are more intense and romantic than the sun signs. They are also more inherently charming than the suns, who tend to put it on, they just ARE charming and pleasant. They have a very strong emotional need for balance. Libra is characterized by the scales and that is never more apparent than it is with Libra moon’s need for balance. Libra is the sign of relationships and partnerships and if you put that into a moon placement, you get a deep emotional longing for relationships and partnerships. These people need long lasting meaningful relationships to feel emotionally fulfilled. It isn’t that they cannot be whole without another person, even though many of them can feel that way, it is that they will always have a deep longing for a partner. They feel they do their best, have the most emotional growth, are living their best life when they have a partner to do it with. All moon signs have a default, have some kind of common weakness that can ensnare us, and for the libra moon it can be codependency. If they do not have the fortitude to wait for the right partner and invest in themselves first, they can fall into codependency and trying to make partnerships work that they should let go of. These people love love, they yearn for it, exude it, think about it, and think about it some more. In the end they will try and find the right balance because that is what a libra desires, balance. They want a partner they can connect with mentally, who will be their best friend, and who will stick around for the long haul. It is complicated to have a core need be another person or people, so that is something libra moons have to learn to navigate in a healthy balanced way. They can be indecisive because a libra moon come at things weighing both sides and trying to maintain that balance. They are less confident and more self critical of their own physical beauty than the suns. They are far more likely to settle down earlier in life than a libra sun is.
Scorpio Sun: The scorpio sun and moon may have one of the biggest differences between the sun and the moon placements in the same sign in all of the zodiac. The way they present themselves can be very different. As a sun placement strives to be, a scorpio sun strives to be all things scorpio. They want to be seen as mysterious, powerful, unique. They can have act more on scorpio desires than a moon, meaning they can be more reckless with the scorpio energy than the moon sign can. The scorpio sun is a lighter placement than the scorpio moon placement. These people can be dominant and like to be the center of attention but not in a flashy leo-centric way, in a way that craves power over just plain attention. The suns are more open than scorpio moons and more willing to share their feelings. There can be an ego to the scorpio sun because they strive to be powerful, instead of inherently being so or believing deep down they are. They may engage in power plays with people. They tend to form smaller groups of friends than the moon because they open up more than the moon...they form very tight small groups of friends, but with very strong bonds. If a sun in scorpio doesn’t like you, you will usually know it, and with a scorpio moon you may not. They are very determined people and they rarely give up when they want something. They act on the scorpio feelings and things associated with scorpio, while the moon feels them more.
Scorpio Moon: Because a moon sign just is and isn’t striving to be the sign, the scorpio moon is more of the dark stereotypical scorpio energy you hear about. These people are intense, can be very comfortable with the dark side of life, and are the most secretive of the moon signs, and possibly overall placement of the zodiac. They are extremely guarded and self protective, especially when younger. As they mature and evolve they may become more open and less secretive. They are afraid of losing their power to others so they guard their heart and selves heavily, to maintain that control and power. A lot of scorpio moons, for whatever reason have experienced a lot of early traumas in life and they had to learn early on how to emotionally safeguard themselves. While scorpio suns are more outwardly egotistical, scorpio moons can show a more egotistical side to those close to them. It all stems for the internal need for power that lives in all scorpio energy. It is not that they always want to overpower you, they are afraid of losing that power over themselves and therefore not being safe anymore. They can take a very long time to open up and let people in. They loathe being embarrassed or humiliated in any way and can show a vengeful side if they feel you have purposefully set out to hurt them, or they will cut you off completely. The moons can actually be a lot warmer and kinder than scorpio suns because in the moon there is less need for action, they just feel like scorpios but they don’t have to prove it to you. Tends to be more loyal than the suns, but with big loyalty come big feelings and responses if they feel you have set out to betray them. They will try and hide the darkness they feel from others, sometimes even from themselves! They may have a wider social circle than the suns but they are probably less invested in those relationships than the sun will be because it’s rare for them to let people in. These people burn deep with passion and desire and many times, sensuality. This is an inherently sexy placement and they are interested in sex as a subject, but are more private about that then the suns will be. Scorpios like to transform and evolve, so once a scorpio moon matures, this can be a beautiful placement, but before that it can be painful.
Sagittarius Sun: Fiery Sagittarius energy likes to have fun, loves adventure, and is very playful. The Sagittarius suns are all of those things! They are more playful, social, and bubblier than their moon counterparts. They are more philosophical and conscious than the moon is. They can come across very warm and jovial. They can have moments of being snarky or judgmental, but are less so than the moons. Sagittarius energy is more at home and comfortable in the sun placement than the moon. Sagittarius likes action and impulse and so does the sun! They can either present as exhilarating and exciting to someone and they’re drawn in by their almost childlike abandon, or they can present as rash and tactless, even crude to some. The sun sign is more self aware than the moon sign is, the moon sign just inherently is these things. All sagittarius energy can be blunt under the umbrella of trying to appear genuine or honest, but the sun is less blunt than the moon. They are able to hold their tongues a little better than the moon is able to. Sagittarians are truth seekers and usually have a youthful exuberance about them, but it is more apparent in the sun placement than the moon. The suns are more intellectually focused and want everyone to join in on their quest for truth and adventure. Sometimes they can seem like a really excited professor who just can’t wait to impart their knowledge on you, while still being able to hang with the kids, the cool professor. Sagittarius needs freedom as a general rule, freedom to roam and explore, and the sun is no way exempt from that.
Sagittarius Moon: A sagittarius moon can be one of the hardest moon signs to see in someone, they can be hard to spot. They are usually a lot less outwardly sagittarius than the sun signs are. They are generally more critical, even judgmental of the world around them and the people that inhabit it. This can be because they feel they are just being honest and truthful, but they can be incredibly blunt about what they perceive as truth. They can also seem less interested in the philosophical topics that the sun sign is preoccupied with and just want to have a good varied time. They like a lot of variety and change and also desire freedom at their core. If their emotional needs aren’t being met they have the tendency to move rapidly from person to person, or activity to activity trying to find some kind of new thing that will help them feel fulfilled again. They can be incredibly spontaneous which some may find fun and some may find destabilizing to be around. In their quest for their own truth, they can project whatever they believe onto others and require those around them to live by their truth, just because it is true for them. They are people with a complex inner need for variety and that can lead to them forging ahead and leaving behind relationships and people that no longer work for them. They can be somewhat callous in how they go about, what they feel inside, is a noble pursuit of truth. They can be careless with other people’s emotions when they are less evolved. They can lack a filter, especially before they have matured. When a sagittarius moon evolves and learns to be just a bit more tactful, they can be fun friends to have around. They can be inherently optimistic, friendly, and have an easy going feeling vibe to them. They can struggle to commit to things and people but are committed to growth!
Capricorn Sun: Capricorns in general are all about achievement, status, hard work, and accomplishing goals. Capricorn suns strive for status, power, and security. They can be inherently practical and incredibly driven people. There is a certain largeness to a capricorn sun that isn’t felt in the moon placement. They will push themselves out of their comfort zones to achieve what they want, while a capricorn moon has a harder time stepping out of their comfort zone. The suns tend to be more open and communicative than the moons. They will outwardly project the status, and sometimes wealth, they achieve more often than a capricorn moon will. The suns usually display a lot of confidence (regardless of it that’s how they truly feel or not) and they usually draw a lot of respect from those around them. The capricorn suns are more likely to have extrovert-related characteristics than the moon signs will. The suns are usually realistic and grounded people that know what they want and have a plan for how to achieve it. They do have a stronger need for recognition of their achievements than the moon counterpart does. The suns try to maintain control over their emotions and display a practical high achieving persona and they can come across as reserved because of this.
Capricorn Moon: The moon is in detriment in capricorn, it’s just not that comfortable here. Capricorn moons usually maintain the same air of confidence that capricorn suns do that may make them seem successful or dominant but they are far mare guarded and cautious than the suns. They are selective about what they reveal to others about their life and feelings. They tend to be a more stable moon energy and can be very disciplined. They need time to trust you and figure you out before they will open up to you. They exhibit more of a quiet strength and confidence, more inherent, than what the suns put on display. They are much more emotionally restrained than the suns are which can make them appear more intimidating and cold. They are more subtle in their pursuit of their goals than capricorn suns will be, but no less determined. These people can be innately serious and are usually responsible. Not that their entire life will be traditional, but they generally have traditional views about honor and duty and a code of conduct. Because this placement is in detriment, the cooler more disciplined energy of capircorn has a hard time impulsively displaying their emotions in the soft planet of the moon. But once you get close to a capricorn moon you will often experience a lot of reassurance and stability from them. They can have a lot of heart but have a difficult time expressing it. Big emotional dramatic outbursts are not likely to be found coming from a capricorn moon, not unless they are pushed to the absolute brink, but it is more likely they would just cut you off then lose control of their emotions. Achievements are emotional for them, they fill some kind of emotional need for a capricorn moon that is inherent in their make up. They need to be doing their best and being their best; they want that for themselves. Whatever the definition of success is for the individual capricorn moon, they want to achieve it.
Aquarius Sun: Aquarians often get called aliens, otherwordly creatures, and emotionally detached, but I think they are just misunderstood. They can be detached, the sun and the moon, but that doesn’t mean they are unfeeling. Aquarius suns can be very wise, polite, respectful, and make good friends. They care for humanity as a whole and they are intellectual, cerebral beings that like to think there is a higher plain of existence humans could be operating on. They are usually confident in who they are as people and sometimes that can lead to them appearing arrogant or having a god complex. The aquarius sun exhibits its aquarius energy in how they act, not how they feel deep down or their emotional needs, unless their moon sign is also in aquairus. They can detach from their emotions when dealing with people because they believe feelings can cloud judgement. They can be awkward around feelings, especially the less evolved aquarians, but they are not emotionless. They can engage with emotions when they find it necessary. Also aquarian suns can actually feel a great deal of emotion, but the way they express it may seem unusual to others, so they may miss it. They do need space and personal freedom, they do not like being boxed in. The suns are more patient with people and their emotions than the moon signs are. They want to help and provide solutions in intellectual ways for people first, when the people they love around them are upset, but they are capable of engaging with the emotions of those around them as well, when necessary. They like to connect mentally with people. They have strong beliefs and opinions and are unlikely to change them for others. They want to appear, they strive to be seen as, above their emotions, evolved, and highly unique. The aquarius sun can project their uniqueness with fashion and outward things more than the moon. The suns can be moodier than the moons, switching from happy to sad to angry quickly, especially if they have a very emotional moon sign that is battling with their aquarius sun who is trying to intellectually process all those emotions.
Aquarius Moon: The aquarius moon is not striving to be the aquarius characteristics, they just are. These qualities live at their core. Their care for humanity as a whole, the importance of intellect, and their uniqueness are more inherent. They feel more unemotional than other moon signs. They think of people as part of a whole, they see humanity as a whole. If an aquarius is going to be a loner, its more likely going to be the aquarius moon over the aquarius sun. They are generally less social than the sun signs. They can see themselves as above childish emotions and emotional outbursts, but that can be because they are detaching from their true feelings at times. An evolved aquarius moon will allow themselves to feel their emotions, instead of defaulting to detachment. This is a fixed moon sign, so they form strong opinions and beliefs and it is hard to get them to change their minds. They are less preoccupied with appearing unique than the suns are, they are just unwilling to be anyone other than who they truly are. They dance to the beat of their own drum and they will not allow anyone else to change the tempo. They can be very witty and goofy. These moon signs can be obvious to spot in people. They are more at peace with themselves than the sun signs who are trying to project uniqueness and detachment, rather than just being so.
Pisces Sun: Pisces suns can struggle because of how soft and feminine pisces energy is up against the fiery nature of the sun. It can make the very soft energy of pisces a little easier to deal with by balancing it out with sun energy, or it can be a constant inner battle. The sun wants action and pisces isn’t a very action forward energy. Pisces is a very creative energy and the pisces sun signs are very creative people. The sun signs absorb a lot of the energy around them until they just can’t take it anymore and they may lash out. Pisces can be very sponge-like and soak up things around them and become very full of whatever energy surrounds them. A pisces sun may be more sensitive to their own feelings than the feelings of others which can be the opposite case for the moon. They are open minded and compassionate, both the sun and moon. The sun may be more outwardly dramatic than the moon. Out of all the sun and moon signs in the zodiac, a pisces sun and moon may be the most similar, but where the energy goes and how it displays is the difference.
Pisces Moon: A pisces moon is also sensitive, compassionate, and creative like the sun. Because pisces is such soft feminine energy, when paired with the soft feminine energy of the moon, it can be emotional overload. There is no masculine energy to pull a pisces moon out of their feelings. It doubles down on the softness and can get lost in emotion. The pisces moon is likely the most sensitive placement for the moon to be in, only rivaled by the cancer moon. They can vacillate between being very happy to very sad. They are very sensitive to what others are feeling as well and they can have the tendency to hijack what others are feeling and take that on as their own, because they are so absorbent of the energy around them. Pisces moon softness can be very dreamlike, pillowy, and these people can be very dreamy, sometimes spacey, ethereal feelers. The moon will feel these things more deeply than the pisces sun placement will. There may be a constant battle against absorbing other’s emotions and trying to stick to what they alone are feeling. It is a submissive moon sign that naturally wants to please, love, and be loved. The moon can have darker thoughts and feelings than the sun and use different coping mechanisms, both healthy and unhealthy, to try and escape from reality. Pisces moon people are beautiful, dreamy, and extremely sensitive humans. When they evolve they learn that their softness is a strength, but also not everyone deserves to take up room in their life, and will make more room for themselves.

Hi, I noticed you did the MBTI types of the ORV characters, and I was wondering what you think the MBTI types are for the Revue Starlight gals :D
Anon, I want you to know that this google doc is 14 pages single-spaced, and I'm still not done.
WITH THAT BEING SAID, I'm so glad you asked!! I'll be breaking this up into four parts so we don't have to scroll through one massive wall of text. The other schools will take a bit more time to publish as I'm still working on a couple from each (I think I have four girls left!).
But without further ado:
Starira MBTI Part 1 - Seisho
Siegfeld
Frontier
Rinmeikan
I had a lot of help with all of this reading @HalfACape’s wonderful character analyses of so many of the girls on twitter, as well as consulting the Personality Database page for the characters I was less sure about (though there were a few I disagreed with on there - none in Seisho, we'll be discussing the others later). But everyone feel free to discuss if you disagree with anything!

ENFPs’ dominant function is Ne (extroverted intuition) (that running gag Karen has in the game where she mishears words, spouting off suggestions even if they make absolutely zero sense to the situation at hand - “telescope? telephone? telenovella?” - is such stereotypical Ne). Ne is always running towards any possibility, no matter how unlikely it seems, and I don’t need to spell out for you how much of that we saw from Karen in the anime. Ne-Fi feed each other to create a rebel/free-spirit type of personality (Ne seeks all possibilities, Fi holds strong inner values and selfish desires - what do I want, what do I need? How does this make me feel?). Her Te isn’t too developed yet, which is fine because it’s tertiary and she’s still so young. That tertiary, undeveloped Te shows up in her scatterbrained, lackadaisical, go-with-the-flow attitude (but when dominant Fi gets fired up by something - like an old childhood friend coming home - it kicks Te into high gear). Inferior introverted Sensing shows no respect towards rules or regulations - see her revue with Junna (Si-dominant) and the anger she draws out of Maya for (a child of the system and traditionally hard worker) in their Revue of Pride. Karen is the natural rebel, the forever optimist, the sunshine girl - textbook ENFP.
Mahiru Tsuyuzaki: INFP
If you want to see what leading with an introverted function looks like compared to an extroverted function, compare Mahiru to Karen! They share the exact same functions, just flipped on the I/E axis. So Mahiru is Fi, Ne, Si, Te. Karen is Ne, Fi, Te, Si. And Mahiru is a very clear example of an INFP - such a warm, brilliant, awe-inspiring person, but can also be her own worst enemy and others tend to underestimate her. And it’s hard, I don’t blame her! Leading with Fi and not having that physical/in the moment Se to support it (like ISFPs do, just compare her to Kaoruko--yes--they’re only one letter off from each other) means that it’s extremely hard for INFPs to naturally advocate for themselves...so instead, they retreat into their own imaginations where it’s safer (Ne). BUT THEY’RE SO INCREDIBLE!! THERE’S SO MUCH THERE TO RESPECT AND ADMIRE!! *shakes her like maracas* IF YOU WOULD JUST SHOW US!!!!!!! (and this is her whole arc in the anime i don’t need to tell her lol). It’s actually so interesting how she and Karen’s Fi and Ne escapism manifests in their respective introverted/extroverted personalities. These two really are more similar than most of us think!
I love INFPs so, so much because they’re like sleeping giants. Once they get a hold of and develop that inferior extroverted Thinking it’s over - nobody else can compare. They’re like the characters in video games that start off super weak, and then you blink and suddenly they’ve become the most powerful units near the end of the game.
Kagura Hikari: INTJ
ENFP’s stereotypical partner (I swear every other reserved person A/sunshine person B couple in fiction is this type pairing) and while it’s tropey it works because these two types play off each other so well. I actually originally had her pegged as an ISTJ, but I think that her bullheadedness earlier in the anime is more indicative of Ni being stubborn. Hikari is cagey, reserved (tert Fi/inferior Se), and an incredibly high-achieving individual (dominant Ni sets specific goals, auxiliary Te implements). Her tertiary Fi (which INTJs LOVE to keep locked up, right here, forever, until they die) is so obvious as you slowly learn just how much of a sap/romantic she is. It’s her weaker Fi that holds that sentimentality towards Starlight after all these years, her Fi that struggles to hold on to that childhood promise, her Fi that has her following Karen (and eventually Mahiru as well) around like a duckling (though we initially get the impression that the dynamic is the other way around). She grows to care deeply for all the other girls around her and that’s all her tertiary introverted Feeling getting stronger as the story progresses! Like so many people in the fandom have realized, she isn’t a mean person, she’s just socially awkward. Not too much to say on her inferior Se, that mostly manifests in how she’s a homelier person who would rather stay in than go out, and doesn’t actively try to seek new experiences (this was what had me thinking ISTJ at first).
Junna Hoshimi: ISTJ
Karen’s polar opposite - they actually share the exact same functions, just in reverse! So Junna leads with introverted Sensing where it’s Karen’s weakest, and Karen leads with extroverted Intuition where it’s Junna’s weakest. And we see this play out in their revue!
Junna is one of my favorite characters in the series for a reason and it’s because it’s SO rare to see the ISTJ in a rebellious role. Si is all about following and respecting order, and Junna breaks all of that to create her own! We see that dominant Si show up in literally every other facet of her life, though - from her by-the-book attitude to her stringency with deadlines and tardiness to her respect for the creatives of old - Shakespeare, Nietschze, etc. She’s an incredibly bright and successful student as well (any type can be of course but the “kind of student” she is is very much Te supporting Si - super studious and placing heavy weight on studying and getting straight A’s). And her Fi is SO GOOD. SO SO SO SO GOOD AND SO APPARENT - MUCH stronger than IxTJ’s sibling Hikari’s at the start of the anime. That’s where the rebellious part of her spirit comes from - her values, her strong sense of self and desire for autonomy (EXTREMELY Fi thing - Fi is all about the self, how I feel about something, what I want out of this, not feeling trapped by others’ expectations, etc.). Inferior Ne manifests in how she struggles with improvisation, ends up tunnel visioning (see her revue with Karen), and can sometimes struggle to accept new ideas or ways of doing things (Junna works so hard, but it’s evident in the anime and a lot of her starira bond stories that she can end up getting stuck in her old ways if someone else doesn’t come in to offer a new perspective -- see her Jekyll bond story dialogue with Maya!). Another example we see is when her extroverted xSTJ sibling Akira, who has Ne a step higher than her but understands where she’s coming from with their shared functions, guides her towards using it in the High Priestess bond story!
Nana Daiba: ESFJ
Textbook ESFJ!! Caring, motherly, affable; Fe doms are always looking to appeal to the group and make sure that everybody feels comfortable (and, likewise, are very keen on suppressing their own insecurities/emotions/discomforts). Nana is not ambitious for ambition’s sake, and in fact suppresses her own talents to appeal to the group. As for that Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :) Si aux… :)
Unhealthy Si can manifest as an extreme fixation on past experiences and a fear of moving on (we’re going to see this later with Si-dom Fumi too). Her poor tertiary Ne had gotten absolutely quashed by her stronger auxiliary Si in the anime - it doesn’t want to change anything! Claudine and Maya can be the leads again. We don’t need to modify the script. The first one was already perfect, why are we risking failure by changing things?! Also, holding herself back for the sake of everyones’ happiness is so Fe dom it hurts. If you want to see the difference between ESFJ and ENFJ (the two Fe-doms of MBTI), compare her to Michiru, who also suppresses her talents -- yes to cultivate the other girls’ (specifically Akira’s) brilliance but also for the sake of her ulterior motives to one day create her own troupe (aux Ni at work vs. Nana’s aux Si). Nana’s is more deferrant, but still just as ferocious - she’ll defeat Maya 60 times over to get what she wants. And the craziest thing is that all of this comes out of love and fear - she’s scared, and all of that is coming from her unhealthy Si aux. Junna is a very good example for her to follow for healthier Si.
Claudine Saijo: ENTJ
“DON’T IGNORE MY LINES!!!” ENTJs LOVE being at the top - the leaders of the pride, the people in charge, the ones you have to answer to (AND she’s a Leo too. Jfc girl pick a struggle LMAOOOOO). You get the picture - except Claudine isn’t in that position. Maya is. Claudine doesn’t even get a revue or her own song, because she’s Maya’s eternal second. This is a really, really uncomfortable spot for an ENTJ to be in, and it’s evident in how hard she pushes herself - and how antsy she gets whenever Maya is around. But Claudine never blames an outside system or factors like Karen (inferior Si) does for her situation - she just gets angry and more driven to succeed, bulldozing her way to the finish line (dominant Te-tertiary Se interacting). The tragedy of her character is that she will never surpass Maya, so we see her Ni begin to reframe achieving the very top to becoming the only star in Maya’s eye (little does she know that she’s already succeeded). That ripping off of her cloak at the end of the revue duet - “the only loser here is me” - is her inferior Fi poking its head out. At the end of the day, Claudine is an interesting character because she’s a walking contradiction. She’s a star denied a spotlight, but she isn’t a failure either, so she’s forced to grapple with this ambiguous, there-but-not-quite-there middle ground. It’s one big identity crisis in the making, and it’s clear to see why so many people relate to her and love her as a character - a lot of us can empathize with never quite being satisfied, and looking up towards heights that can appear insurmountable.
Maya Tendo: INFJ
She seems so normal and established and then you look closer and realize there’s something seriously wrong with her and oh my god where did this massive god complex come from. Typical Ni dom
From her detached, more “mature” personality to her altruistic and often surprisingly keen insight towards people, she has so many key makings of an INFJ. That dominant Ni is strong in Maya - everything is poured into theatre. Everything. From her hobbies to her interests to her personality, everything Maya does in her life is deliberate and all of it is for the sake of theatre. Ni bitches LOVE to fixate on just one thing, and for Maya, that is the stage. “I have no need for those who lack willpower...Come climb up here if you have the resolve...A single step forward is a step closer to my dream” is just...yeah I’m being redundant. Dominant introverted intuition. Ni Ni Ni Ni. This girl embodies it - while Hikari is also a Ni-dom, Maya shows a TON more of it than her (can’t say I blame the writers - Ni is probably the most difficult function to write because it requires thinking so many steps ahead for your character). We can see a marked difference between INFJs and INTJs here in how Maya and Hikari practice solitude - Hikari purposely isolates herself from Karen to avoid hurting her, while Maya purposely isolates and crafts herself into an untouchable God to serve as an inspiration to others (auxiliary extroverted Feeling). Want to see how this looks with the INFJ’s extroverted sibling, the ENFJ? Look at how Michiru crafts Akira’s public image. That’s Ni and Fe at work, just in different priority slots (Maya is Ni dominant, Michiru is Fe dominant - they share the same functions, just flipped on the I/E axis). That tertiary Ti is very prevalent too - Maya mostly keeps her thoughts to herself, and loves to mull over things. She definitely isn’t the first one to shout out an answer, she prefers to think things over.
One interesting comment that really stood out to me on her personality database page was how she’s an INFJ with an INTP persona in the anime, and I think I agree (INFJs and INTPs tend to present similarly and can be easily confused with each other anyway)! But I want to add on to that - I think that INTP presentation is her auxiliary Fe at play crafting a persona that better coincides with Claudine’s, as ENTJ/INTP matchups are extremely compatible (not saying Maya was thinking about MBTI LOL but rather she brought out and exemplified aspects of her personality that would better complement Claudine’s - their partnership is not a one-way street at all! Maya does so much for her!!). Just compare anime Maya to stageplay Maya, where she gives no headway and is absolutely brutal to Claudine.
Futaba Isurigi: ISTP
Futaba is such a great example of what a healthy ISTP can look like! Dominant Ti shows up in how she communicates with others - she's honest, direct, and to the point, but it's never utilized in a way that’s mean-spirited (contrary to how her girlfriend often can be) - it’s just how she communicates. Claudine (a Te dom which works SO well with Ti) actually points out in Starira that this is why they get along so well. Aux Se shows up in her physicality - her love and strength is in stage fights, she's into mechanics with her motorcycle and does all the maintenance herself, etc. Funnily enough, I think that tert Ni, while a slot above Fe, is actually Futaba’s least developed trait (or, at least, the one she's most guarded about) - she went into Seisho to follow Kaoruko, and her aux Se dominates that tert slot and gives her a … little bit of a lackadaisical attitude? Obviously not as much as someone like Karen, but in many senses she doesn't outwardly display a strong fear or anxiety towards the future like the other girls (completely understandably) do - and it’s that tert Ni getting angry when she feels as if Kaoruko is stagnating in her plans. There’s some inklings of her own plan for the future, but Futaba’s own individual plans are mostly kept to herself, so we don’t know how much or little she’s done about them. (I have more to add but will not continue as I’m venturing into movie spoilers territory, but for those that have watched/read them, try to draw your own conclusions based on what I’ve said!). I think that having such a close relationship with Kaoruko is what pushed her to develop that inferior Fe so early to support her girlfriend's dominant Fi. I actually originally had her typed as ESTP for how strong her Fe was (ESTPs have it a slot higher than their introverted siblings), but she really doesn’t strike me as an extrovert, and ISTPs with developed Fe can be very warm, affable people too!
Kaoruko Hanayagi: ISFP
“Kaoruko Hanayagi’s dream is world domination.”
Kaoruko is such a great example of what an unhealthy ISFP can look like! LMAOOO but no, I’m dead serious - if you want to know what unhealthy introverted Feeling looks like, look to Kaoruko. Everything is me me me me me me me, to hell with what anyone else wants (if you want to compare unhealthy Fe to unhealthy Fi, compare Nana and Kaoruko). Tertiary Ni shows up to support Fi in how surprisingly sharp she is towards other people - what makes them tick, exactly where to hurt, their inner thoughts and feelings (see her bathtub conversation with Mahiru).
BUT THAT DOMINANT Fi IS ALSO SUCH A POWERFUL THING. That “me me me me me me” is going to turn into “my vision, and what I want to create, and what I’m going to do” (once that inferior Te finally develops - which Kaoruko is going to be forced to put work into eventually). This is why, like Mahiru, I think that Kaoruko is seriously going to blossom later on in life - ISFPs and INFPs, the Pisces of the MBTI, have this weird penchant for going under the rader and then becoming insanely fucking successful OUT OF NOWHERE??? Like, they aren’t super motivated and driven with a specific plan like Ni-strong xNxJs, or disciplined and hardworking like Te-strong xSTJs, but???? You blink and suddenly they’re millionaires with four creative projects going on simultaneously (but if they get bored with any of them they’ll drop them instantly - you could not pay me all the money in the world to be an IxFP’s manager it must be an absolute nightmare <3). Just...legends out of nowhere? Rihanna is an ISFP Pisces so I have real world evidence to back this up.

Ok so I watched the wilds, the whole thing in like 2 days and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I honestly started watching it because I heard there was a wlw couple and but actually I enjoy survival TV shows so I gave it a chance. Can I just say how nice it is to watch something with the strict bare minimum of male characters? It's so refreshing kinda like in portrait of a lady on fire when you see one dude after 1 hour and you are shocked because you haven't seen one for a pretty long time. In terms of doing a mini review I want to state that not only is the concept interesting but it's also executed well imo, it could be that I gladly watch shows with a present(future)-past(present) timeline so the whole telling the story through the "investigation" works for me. Now let's talk about the girls.
First and foremost I must state that I wish we could've had Janette (Lynn) for more time, maybe like two other episodes because I really gives with her when we finally saw her story (fuck you Alex, just say there's been an accident you moron)
Now about the unsinkable 8, should I just say who is my favourite? Of course it's Fatin, it's obviously her. She's lazy but resourceful, she's generous and compassionate, just look at how she behaves with Leah, she wants to enjoy life fully, she's free and she holds cheaters accountable plus her gaydar is on point. She might come off as self-centred and maybe she was but she proved herself, she worked with the team and for the team. She reminds me of myself a little bit so I relate to her.
My other favourite girl is clearly Dot, she saved everyone's ass MULTIPLE TIMES, she's knowledgeable and a survival expert, she knows when to take a break before actually breaking and despite clearly fitting the stereotype for the girl in command she does not do that, she's not bossy but caring and a peacemaker. Also her and Fatin as a duo just crack me up every damn time, they click so well it's incredible.
My protegee is Nora, she's not my favourite but I relate to her so much that I can't help but worry about her and although we find out who she works for she does it with the best intentions, it's only to help her sister get back to her healthy and confident self but ultimately we know something bad happened (also remember how someone, I think it was Fatin, yelled shark week when Rachel got her period?) Nora and Rachel are in a complex situation where somehow both live in the other's shadow, Rachel behind Nora's intelligence and Nora behind Rachel's athleticism as she said when asked at the beginning how does she know so much stuff. We've seen her get braver as time went on compared to her time with Quinn when she just absorbed Rachel's opinion regardless of her own feelings.
And now let's talk about the others
Leah: I can't stand her. I really despise the "this character is paranoid but actually right" trope, but she also gives Piper Chapman from oitnb vibes also known as irritating main character vibes despite the paranoia. I cringed so hard when I saw her backstory and the whole Jeffrey thing like girl please stop talking about a 30 years old man who clearly has a thing about underage girls. Also her lying just made me hate her more somehow, like why? Just tell him you're 17, or just tell the girls about the phone call with Janette's phone, just tell them about the med bags immediately instead of letting your friends almost die.
Shelby: another trope I hate is the "I'm homophobic because they raised me like this but I'm actually gay" but I managed to enjoy this character by not focusing on that. I get that her insecurities may feel small compared to the others' but to her those are huge. Toni and her are very cute and the hurt she carries for what happened to her old friend Gabby is visible throughout the show so I'd say I tolerated her in the beginning but in the end bald head Shelby conquered my heart.
Martha: She is such an interesting character to me, the whole living in a fantasy world where everything is nice and "people love to help" is at first a bit weird, then it gets unnerving but once you learn about Dr. Ted and how she's in denial and willing to commit perjury the reasons behind her behaviour clear up. That moment with the goat is special, killing an animal that trusts you because you are starving is powerful. I don't think she's dead but something definitely happened to her and I suspect that's what caused Leah to kind of lose her mind.
Rachel: Her story hit me hard because I used to be a competitive swimmer and I've known so many Rachels during those years, teenage girls destroying themselves and pushing their bodies so close to the limit. I actually quit before anyone could push me in that direction, be it the coach or the teammates, but I was one of the lucky ones. So yeah that hit home. Her anger, her shame, her disappointment and her frustration are always there, the actress does such an incredible job in letting you know she's never satisfied with what she does until it's done perfectly, she's never gonna stop until she reaches the unreachable. I want to know what happened to her after the shark attack besides what we've actually seen. Overall great character imo
Toni: she's the one I had the most trouble with while I tried to write this "review". Because I understand her feelings but I feel like I need to see more of her own story as we've mostly seen her paired with someone. Be it Shelby, Martha or her previous gf (very cute relationship though) but she's always with someone next to her that can contain her rage when she explodes. But I want to know why she explodes, why does she have this rage, why does it seem that literally anything sets her off. I want her backstory more than the other's.
Maybe I'll make another post about the supporting characters.

"#*erases a rant about fandom cas characterization bc god who has the energy*" me. i have the energy. give me the rant.
*cracks knuckles* okay let’s see if any of these particular intellectual muscles still work.
I am always pro-cas-being-canonically-dickish posts (even if they are misleading one way or another, more on that later) because dear GOD this fandom loves to infantalize the man. He’s a “baby in a trenchcoat.” He’s dumb about pop culture and clueless about human things isn’t it adorable? SHUT UP!!!! And pls especially shut up if you’re using his ignorance as a way of making another character look cool or smart by comparison. “it’s a shortened version of my name” was 100% Cas fucking with Dean because he is a dick sometimes! and it’s great! Also: Cas’s indifference to pop culture isn’t a weakness just because pop culture knowledge is a major currency on tumblr!!! It’s indicative of the fact that he’s got much bigger and more important things on his mind. (Also. listen. This trait was canonically erased by Metatron and it was literally the only good thing that fucking character ever did so can we please as a fandom just acknowledge that little slice of canon? pls?)
(Can I also just say.....fish out of water stories are only good when they are on the side of the fish and not just using the fish to make jokes. Just. as a note on the trope in general but specifically re: every time this shows up in fanfic with Cas or any other similar character. Thor comes to mind.)
Anyway Cas isn’t a child, he’s ANCIENT and TIRED and CONFLICTED about major moral issues, which is FASCINATING for an angel character and forces us as an audience to consider more deeply the actual differences between heaven and hell, good and evil, destiny and free will. Is this how we expect an angel to behave? What does this tell us about Heaven? If Cas is an aberration, what does that tell us about Heaven and goodness and God? So his expressions of anger and frustration and his impatience with or indifference to human courtesies are a really great part of his character and people should appreciate them more (and not just when it’s funny!)
(Sidenote bc I always think about this when I think about fandom and Cas, the reductive fandom approach to “””crazy!cas””” (what a fun way of saying “deeply affected by horrible trauma and guilt and trying to repress it so he can function.” thanks for that fandom) as comic relief or a woobified victim is. hm. bad. That’s all I’ll say about that one.)
{ANOTHER sidenote, this one for fan artists in particular but fan writers definitely aren’t free from sin: Cas isn’t pale or short and he isn’t a fuckin twink pls stop projecting weird m/f stereotypes onto your queer ships pls and thank}
ANYWAY about these screenshots specifically: Listen I love this post but the context of these scenes is SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING than Cas being a dick to Sam. They aren’t really about Sam at all, actually. “Don’t ask stupid questions” is such a painful fucking response to Sam asking if he’s okay, because he’s clearly not okay--he’s still struggling with the knowledge that God has given up and abandoned them--but he can’t be vulnerable about it. So he redirects to ask what Sam needs from him because that’s what he does, it’s what he is, he’s a tool. He’s a solution to problems (except his own). And his unwillingness to confront his pain (while also not being able to hide it) isn’t really about his relationship with Sam, it’s about his relationship with God and with himself and his own failures. The visibility of that struggle while he continues to try to help in this episode is just really fucking moving, okay?
Also there’s absolutely nothing hostile about “Sam, of course, is an abomination” in context. Like. Not a damn thing. There’s a task that needs to be performed by a “servant of heaven,” and Cas is explaining why none of the three of them qualify, and we know he feels shame about the fact that HE doesn’t qualify by how he reacts later, calling himself a poor example of an angel. He’s as much an abomination as Sam is in this moment.
Actually you know what? Literally everything in these screenshots that gets interpreted as “Cas hates Sam” is 100% actually Cas hating himself. He hates Sam’s voice while he’s stuck using a human voice himself to communicate, through technology he’s hostile to because it’s limiting compared to angelic communication. He rejects Sam’s compassion because he doesn’t want to talk about his own weakness. He calls Sam an abomination in the same breath that he acknowledges that he isn’t a servant of heaven anymore, and with much less anger than when he later calls himself a poor example of an angel. He sees himself in Sam but he hates himself too much to use that as a point of connection and pushes away from it instead. (I’m not going to go on a shipper detour here but sastiel shippers....you know)
So Cas is angry and complicated and self-hating and yeah, it’s funny, but if you don’t respect those feelings and their complexity, maybe don’t try to write Cas or write about him. Maybe if you only like Cas when he’s making you laugh you don’t actually like Cas.
And this isn’t to be like...”writing fluffy shippy fic with Cas being sweet is bad” or whatever. That fills a need for some people, I get it. I’ve written fic where he’s sweet! There’s a difference between someone lovingly wrapping a character in a blanket and going “nice things will happen for you now” versus using that character for a reductive joke.
There’s also a difference between people who are actually carefully writing fic and people who are, yknow, tagging posts or circulating meme-like gifsets with this kind of commentary. Which, bc I don’t read fic as often anymore, tends to be the most common way anything like analysis of Cas reaches me. I do NOT recommend this method of engaging with fandom because it’s really the worst, unfunniest, most simplistic takes that get repeated over and over again (I would pay money to never see anyone call Sam “moose” or “sammy” again dear lord), and it obscures the actually really good work some folks are doing when they write these characters.
tl;dr 1. Cas is not a child and he is not stupid. 2. Cas doesn’t hate Sam but he DOES project onto him and it’s fascinating. 3. fandom wants to be transformative but bc of meme culture and the way tumblr works it can be painfully reductive and it’s exhausting
ps nb I haven’t watched a single episode since they killed Charlie off and I don’t know much about what happened after that lol. so don’t come at me “well actuallying” bc honestly I don’t care and bc canon has been a dumpster fire for years and all extended analysis of it including my own is really nonsense just by virtue of the source material being nonsense.
pps the showrunners are ABSOLUTELY complicit in this but I can’t. I just cannot get into that. I am too tired.

benny’s RWBY rewrite: the white fang
so this is something that’s been on my mind for a while, and i’ve been trying to formulate my thoughts about it. the white fang in RWBY, as it stands now, is a really poorly thought-out approximation of the black panther party, an actual organization that fought for the equal rights and the equal treatment of black people in the united states. the black panther party’s actions have been long pathologized by white society and academia at large, and have been falsely contrasted with the ideals and teachings of MLK. the false dichotomy of violent and non-violent action is reductive at best, and blatantly racist at worst. while there is a whole fuckton to be said about the real-life consequences of these discourses, i’d like to focus on their impact on the writing of RWBY. i’d also like to talk about how i’d change how the white fang looks in order to make things a little less uncomfortable.
content warning for real and fictional racism, antiblackness, violence against marginalized people, and discussions of white supremacy under the cut.
so, the white fang. the RWBY wiki describes the group as “ a Faunus organization in Remnant. Founded following the Faunus Rights Revolution, the White Fang was initially a peaceful activist organization created to improve relations between Humans and Faunus and improve the civil rights of the latter.” more concisely, i would describe the white fang as a faunus rights activist group, whose modes of operation have changed over time. within the story, after the peaceful leader ghira stepped down, the faction as a whole took a notable nose-dive into violence. but why did this happen? why was the white fang written like this?
first of all, all of the following talk comes from the subjective opinion of one black genderqueer writer. i am not the voice of the entirety of my community, and i can bet that there are people who disagree with me. i’m just here to say my piece.
that said, i think that the white fang’s writing grossly misunderstands what oppression looks like to marginalized people. the RWBY writing team obviously wanted to handle racism in some kind of way- they wrote racism into the story. however, it’s incredibly clear that most of the writers don’t really understand how deeply racism runs in given societies. the oppression of the faunus is clearly mirroring the oppression of black people in the united states, and yet there’s little to this oppression other than surface-level discrimitation. ghira’s direction of the white fang doesn’t seem to understand that personal prejudice is a very small aspect of the continued oppression of the faunus. alarmingly, it’s only when “radicals” such as sienna khan and adam taurus take control that actual, structural avenues of racism are acknowledged. this has several issues.
- whether the RWBY writers intended this or not, attributing the acknowledgement of actual systemic issues to violent radicals is inherently a really bad call. the dismantling and destruction of racist structures is the baseline of most avenues of anti-racist thought, but by only assigning these beliefs to people like adam “kill all humans” taurus, you’re telling the audience that only people like adam “i’m gonna kill all my ex’s loved ones b/c she hurt my feelings” taurus think that these things are a reality. make no mistake, institutional racism and structural violence against marginalized people is a thing. by giving these ideas to violent actors, you’re sending a really shitty message.
- another thing to note is the role of fear in the white fang’s activity. blake is quoted as saying that under adam taurus, people only pretend to respect the faunus because they’re afraid of the white fang. this is also bad. there is an actual line of racist thought that thinks that people who just want equality are a bunch of thugs using intimidation tactics to get special treatment, and by affirming this in-canon, you’re giving credence to these beliefs. in addition, adam’s literal desire to put humans in cages and make them go extinct is also an actual white supremacist talking point. actual fucking white supremacists go on about how the white race is going extinct as a means to manipulate otherwise well-meaning people into committing acts of violence against marginalized people. but RWBY says, “no, the white fang actually wants humans to be wiped off the face of the earth.” i shouldn’t have to tell you how buck fucking wild this is.
- there’s also the role of violence in activism. the black panther party has long been attributed with senseless and anger-fueled violence against white people, but this assessment of the party is completely false. in truth, the arming of black panthers was a direct response to overpolicing and police violence against black people. the black panther party advocated self-defense, and acted as its own protective force for black americans. they had guns so that they could protect themselves from the cops, who were assaulting and killing them in absurd numbers. if the RWBY writers wanted to draw parallels between the white fang and the black panther party, they could have very easily done so by actually doing their research.
the question becomes, is it at all possible to have members of the white fang as actual villains within the RWBY universe? i’d say that it is possible, but it has to be done very carefully. there’s several things that have to be kept in mind here, and the entire understanding of faunus oppression has be to restructured in order for this to work. i’ll outline what i would change below:
- firstly, there needs to be more evidence of faunus marginalization past the surface level. this could be evident in a phethora of ways, anywhere from the trend of faunus hiding their animal traits being more common (an important thing to note is how accessible passing as a human is to the faunus), to beacon actually having much more bias than humans are aware of. blake highlighting these biases would be extremely helpful in establishing how deeply anti-faunus sentiments run. the only racists being cartoon bullies and shady billionaires rings too closely to the sentiments that white people have about racism. this is also a comparatively minor gripe, but the whole “becoming the monster people think they are” mask thing is just so... dumb. there are legitimate reasons for faunus to hide their identities during protests, and pathologizing this is just such a shitty thing to do.
- next, the white fang as a whole cannot be a terrorist organization in actuality. people can believe that the white fang are a bunch of terrorists, sure, but this can’t be the truth. for example, it would make perfect sense for weiss to think such things. her being the heiress to the schnee dust company, being fed stories about scary faunus with weapons trying to hurt her and her family would make sense. but the stereotypes humans have about faunus activism can’t be true. in addition, there should at the very least be more than one faunus activist party. the fact that there’s only one in the entire continent of remnant is so fucking stupid. you don’t think that some group of people would be dissatisfied and go and do something else?
- adam and sienna cannot be the leaders of the entire white fang. i’m sorry, but it’s just way too fucking easy for racists to say “oh, the entire thing’s just an excuse for (insert minority here) to ransack property and hurt people!” ilia could have been promoted after ghira stepped down. it would be interesting to see how she uses her ability to pass as human to actually make some changes for the people of menagerie, and the power structures that led to its creation. sienna has the potential to be someone disillusioned by strictly pacifist ideals of ghira, but she can act more in accordance to the actual black panther party, advocating for self-defense and knowing one’s rights. the arming and training of faunus, as frightening as it may be to the humans in power, cannot and should not be depicted at the beginnings of terrorism. there’s potential for actual discussion of the effectiveness of pacifism and respectability politics in activism, but all of that was overshadowed by the gross villification and oversimplification of the white fang.
- finally, adam. i think that adam is able to remain mostly the same, with a few adjustments to the environment around him (along with the previously discussed changes). i don’t think that adam should be the only person whose violent oppression is readily visible. the trope of the oppressed person going “mad with vengeance” is just adding fuel to the fire of the belief that those who speak out against their oppression should be put down. as satisfying an arc blake and yang beating the shit out of blake’s abusive ex was, it did just kind of feel like two people being like “yeah! violence wrong! pacifism good!” the unification of faunus SDC workers shouldn’t be attributed to adam. the advocacy for faunus to be able to defend themselves shouldn’t be attributed to adam. adam needs to be labled extremely clearly as an outlier, and even then this is risky. i think that adam’s group should be miniscule in comparison to the other sects of the white fang, and i think it would be interesting for his dealings with roman and company to be based on the distribution of android soldiers. adam shouldn’t come from a good place. yes, he suffered atrociously at the hands of his oppressors, but as a character and as an element of the story, he should be uniquely evil. for the few actual people in his group, he should rule through fear and violence, and defectors should be common. his brand of violence should be unique: rather than actually aiming to make changes to help the faunus, he should be solely focused on revenge. blake’s leaving him makes more sense in this way: rather than her leaving because of the inherent evil of violence, she should leave him because of his twisting the good intentions of the white fang into a self-serving cruelty. this all has to be contrasted against the well-intentioned actions of the actual white fang. the terrorist logo that appears universally on white fang regalia should either be solely adam’s, or his group should have a different name entirely.
so there. there’s my thoughts on the white fang and the stuff that the RWBY writers were trying to do. what should be taken away from this discussion is this: it is possible to write racism into a fantasy story without it being an absolute garbage fire, but it takes work. it takes understanding racism, the fact that it’s not just cruel people, but people complicit in the structures that uphold it. it takes being mindful of actual racist talking points, and making sure that your work doesn’t play into them. finally, if you’re going to make a main antagonist a member of the fucking civil rights movement, please for the love of god make it abundantly clear that they aren’t the villain because they want equal rights.
i’ve read so many stories where this defanged, platitude-ridden form of activism is treated as the only valid form of activism. in reality, it’s the form that people in power are most comfortable with. people approve of the idealized version of MLK because his activism was one that made white people feel good. the MLK we read about in schools is an illusory one. the real man kept a gun on him because he knew that as much as white media would have you believe that people liked him, he knew that people still wanted him dead.
