How They Show Their Love

I think Arcturus shows his love with homemade gifts and words of affirmation. 

He believes handmade gifts are the most meaningful and likes to give them as a way of showing his dedication to you.

The most common type of these gifts are things he's knitted for you, usually socks and sweaters.

He also gives you compliments and encouragement as much as possible throughout the day.

He doesn’t care how small an accomplishment seems; he's always ready to tell you he's proud or that you did a great job.

He also likes receiving encouragement from you and makes sure to thank you with a big smile and a little kiss.

He can be very busy at times but always tries to use guide committee duties to spend time with you by asking for your assistance.

Other than your lips his favorite place to kiss you is your cheek or the tip of your nose.

Alpheratz 

Alpheratz shows his affection mainly through physical touch.

Throughout the day whenever he gets close enough, he leans against you, draping his body against yours (if you’re shorter than him or when you’re sitting down then he likes resting his chin on your head).

If you aren’t the biggest fan of this physical affection he tones it down to something you’re comfortable with.

He’s shown you all his napping spots, and when you’re not busy he asks you to nap with him.

If you do agree to join him then he pulls you in as close as possible into his chest and makes sure you’re comfortable before dozing off.

He likes giving you little kisses favorite places other than your lips are your nose and the top of your head.

Other than physical touch another one of his love languages is gift-giving.

He insists on fully paying for every date, only letting you pay if you beg him to let you pay.

Anything you express interest in buying is purchased by him immediately, no matter the cost.

Spica

Taking time out of his busy days to spend time with you.

Even when he has mountains of paperwork to complete he makes sure to spend a portion of his day on giving you the attention you deserve.

On a less busy day, he takes you on full dates.

On the busier days, he makes sure to be by your side giving you bits of physical touch and praise.

He's not the best at directly expressing his affection for you.

He prefers showing you through acts of service and gift-giving the most.

Helping you complete your assignments for Contell and giving you thought-out solutions to your personal problems.

He also gives you occasional gifts for no specific reason. Sometimes small like a snack he remembered you talking about, and sometimes a bigger gift like beautiful pieces of Jewelry. 

His favorite place to kiss you other than the lips is the back of your hand or the top of your head.

Sirius

Sirius’s preferred love languages are physical touch and quality time.

He constantly sneaks up right behind you to wrap his arms around you.

If you don’t like this he switches his greeting to something you both enjoy

He enjoys messing with you a lot.

Teases you about being interested in him even when you have been dating for a while.

Spends most of his free time around you, he likes to drape his body against you while he’s talking to you.

His favorite places to kiss you other than the lips are the top of your head and the back of your hand.

He’s in your room more than you are, he hangs out there like he owns the place and rushes to greet you at the door when you come back to your dorm.

Sirius is hesitant to be fully vulnerable with you and his cocky attitude is the best way he is able to show his love.

Vega

Vega’s favorite love languages are quality time and acts of service.

He feels the need to spend as much time together due to the fears he developed because of your pasts together.

Even if you’re interacting he wants to keep you by his side to ensure you’re protected.

Other than protecting you, he wants to make up for the time you two were separated.

His affection is mostly subtle and uses acts of service to show you how much he cares and is willing to help you.

Mostly favors like doing your laundry or running an errand, he wants to take on some of your tasks to minimize your stress.

He enjoys listening to your voice and encourages you to rant about anything on your mind for hours on end.

Always blushes and has a slight smile when you give him any kisses.

His favorite places to kiss you other than the lips are the back of your hand and forehead.

Pollux

I think Pollux prefers to show his love for you through quality time and physical touch.

He tries to spend as much of his day as possible around you.

You’ve heard from the others on numerous occasions that they’ve seen Pollux rushing around Contell asking anyone if they’ve seen you.

At first, people thought it was an emergency but after a while and after talking to you they realized he’s just being clingy.

Once he’s by your side it takes a lot for him to agree to leave your side. 

He really enjoys holding your hand, it makes him feel closer to you.

His favorite places to give you kisses other than your lips are your cheek or the tip of your nose.

He always tells you about his day and asks about yours making sure to show you he’s listening the whole time.

Rigel

I think Rigel’s love language would be an act of service.

Just like Spica, he doesn’t outwardly express his affection to you too often. 

He prefers giving you help with classwork and any work the guide committee has assigned to you.

If you pay attention to how he acts around others compared to how he acts with the other sorcerers he’s more laid back around you.

When you two are alone he’s still serious but smiles more often and gets a little bit more physically affectionate.

His favorite place to kiss you other than your lips is on your cheek.

(I don’t know much about him so sorry if he got mischaracterized)

Something something coincidental petty revenge on the Jin Clan by taking the heir. #sadly I don't think it would make as much of a wave as one might think. Lots of other candidates would *love* that kid to stay lost. #actually I think it would be Jiang Cheng who suffers the most in this AU. JL is his depression puppy. His designer purse dog. #to be fair to him...A-yuan is also treated like wwx's depression puppy. JL can't escape that fate I suppose.

I've seen some people ask for comparisons between Pen's Chinese and English lines, so I made a small compilation to show the biggest changes that most baffled me.

There is a kind Chinese player, Yu, who offered the fandom much of the info and insight contained in this post, and she was the first to shed light on these differences! Without her enthusiasm, I doubt people would have started investigating Pen's original lines ;_;

Under the read more because this is long!

Brief premise: the Chinese dialogues in the game are often less "harsh" than the English ones. For example, Qi can sound rude and condescending in English, while he's pretty polite, if not a bit aloof, in Chinese. Justice's lines in English rely on the typical "hey pardner" cowboy accent, while in Chinese he's very professional, almost overly so.

That said, the English writer who worked on Pen made it no mystery that he based his characterization of Pen on Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. There is even a line directly referencing the movie: "[...] when I was a boy I ate four dozen eggs every morning to help me get large. Now that I'm grown I have five dozen eggs [...]"

As such, English Pen sounds much different from Chinese Pen. He's more patronizing and rude, and the writer added stuff that it's simply not present in the Chinese text. So while in English Pen can sound like a knucklehead obsessed only with muscles and training, surrounded by adoring women and fans when in Duvos, in Chinese he shows a different, almost more innocent side, as if he were a very tall and big child who has never had a day of legitimate and healthy fun in his life (and that's carried across in some of the English lines - that's why his English version is a bit contradicting sometimes).

Here are some examples:

One of his lines as a Good Friend is:

Here it's implied that Pen gives the Builder a hard time not only to push them to improve themselves... but also because he likes doing it, referencing his friendship mission where he admits he doesn't like teaching people anything, he just wants to fight them.

Meanwhile, the Chinese version says:

I keep calling you a weakling just to urge you and encourage you to exercise hard and break through your limits. If you won't have me to protect you in the future, you will have to become an eagle for me!

Here "eagle" is a reference to the way Pen calls the Builder in Chinese: 小弱鸡 "little weakling/little chicken" - and the latter is a rude way to call someone in Chinese, especially if they are a man and the "chicken" character (鸡) is repeated twice (but 鸡 by itself is also slang for "female prostitute"... so if you want to read it that way, Pen can call the Builder "my little slut" when in a relationship. HEH.)

In any case the tone in this line of dialogue is much different from the one in English, and Pen sounds genuinely enthusiastic.

Another example:

At the start of the game, Pen asks the Builder to craft a Sword and Shield for Burgess, who apparently misplaced his own. It turns out Burgess hid them under his bed, so when the Builder tries to give the weapons they crafted to Pen, he will tell them to keep them.

As usual, the English version is mocking and patronizing ("Hah! That'd be rich!"). In the Chinese version, Pen first compliments the desert:

In this case, take it back and use it for yourself! Use it to explore the desert and fight those monsters - what a thrill! The desert is very dangerous, but it is also full of charm.

Then there is the line about Logan and his band:

Hey! Maybe you can still find traces of Logan's gang! If you subdue them, you will gain both fame and fortune! [Okay, see you next time] [not shown here]

Now, some romance stuff : >

This is the description for the Robo-Love Couch. In English it says:

Meanwhile the Chinese description:

Referred to as the "Love Sand Machine", Peng Hu specially built a loving sofa for you, pieced together from the remains of robot monsters in the ruins.

He specially built a loving sofa for the Builder. It seems like a silly detail, but wording is important!

And yes, Pen's full name is Peng Hu, 彭虎. Peng is his family name, Hu his birth name. Hu 虎 means "tiger", and now you can understand why Grace suspected him to be Tiger the spy. But that would have been too easy!

Peng 彭 is a common Chinese surname. Its original meaning is believed to be "sound of war drums" (sad implication), but it's also used as an adjective to mean "big". So Pen's full name can mean "big tiger" :D

Back to the couch! Lines are different during the date in Paradise Lost, too.

Come on, little weakling, come and sit next to me. Let's give this trophy a "kiss of victory"! Do you do this with everyone you date? Wait, it seems I'm regretting it a bit... Happiness comes too suddenly...... (Kiss Peng Hu)

In the English version, the Builder can ask "How many of these thrones have you built...?", implying that Pen has had so many lovers he can craft this couch in a matter of few seconds. But in Chinese, the Builder's question is much different, it's more like: "Damn, are you always so over the top when dating someone??"

One of the biggest differences is in this set of lines:

Meanwhile, in Chinese:

Today's experience made me realize that love has used a deadly locking technique on both of our hearts. Let me no longer doubt the feelings between us. This love is true love! Now, I am even more unwilling to take my eyes away from you! Haha!

I MEAN.

Also, in Chinese Pen never mentions the infamous 12 girlfriends when the Builder and Grace question him in jail. Yu confirmed that throughout the game Pen doesn't brag about his love life or his popularity with women, probably also due to the negative way Chinese culture sees this kind of "bragging".

Not only Pen and many other characters are younger in Chinese Sandrock (Pen's age ranges from 25 to 27, while he's confirmed to be 31 in the English localization), but he's depicted as being not very experienced in relationships in general. He basically only knows how to fight, punch people, and destroy stuff. Anything else - having friends, being with someone who truly loves him and whom he truly loves, having a normal life - are something he never experienced before. He did date (see his final letter later), but he's not described being the Casanova of Duvos like he is in the English version. In fact, it seems people only liked him due to his body and status, and a remnant of this piece of characterization is left in the English text when he says:

Surely, you understand… I am quite the prize. I can’t take myself off the market just to become arm candy for you to show off at your little buildy guild awards or whatever it is! No, what I desire… is true love…

Furthermore,

In Chinese, he says during the Masterclass friendship mission: "To be honest, I never thought I'd be able to make friends, let alone with someone of your stature/body size! But here we are, with a sick relationship!"

In English: "You know, Skinny, I’ve never had someone I really considered a friend before. Furthermore, I always promised myself I’d never be friends with anyone who didn’t have an awesome cape, but… you made me break that promise."

"I never thought I'd be able to make friends" is different from "I’ve never had someone I really considered a friend before." In the first line, the focus is on Pen ("I don't know how to make friends; I'm not good at it; it's not for me; how do you do it?"), in the second it's on other people ("I've been surrounded by people all my life, but I don't consider any of them to be a friend of mine; yeah, I call this one 'friend', but... they are not really really a friend")

The Chinese line is much sadder, and it shows how lonely Pen's life has been. One of his main characteristics, after all, is being "special", "the strongest", "different from everyone else"; but more often than not, being special and different also mean being "lonely". ("I must say it gets lonely at the top… What I wouldn't give for a truly talented opponent who could really keep me on my toes! Alas...")

The Protector, the bracelet Pen will leave for the Builder in the cave, is called "Guardian of Love" (爱的守卫者) in Chinese. Its description says:

A very delicate bracelet that protects the wearer's wrist. Wearing it gives the wearer a feeling of being emotionally confined. Perhaps this feeling is similar to what Peng Hu often said, "Marriage is a boring bondage".

His letter in Chinese is also sweeter and sadder:

最近在这所谓的阿塔拉最高监狱，我也多了点时间思考，没法带你一起来陪我，多少有些遗憾。罢了，这事也怪我。不管怎么说，你也算是我交往过的恋人里最让我上心的，也是为数不多分手之后我还继续挂念的。所以，我打算原谅你了。对——我原谅你了。我想我们也没有机会再在一起了，你也不过是做了你那个位置该做的事，没什么值得抱怨的。我应该一开始就努力把你“招安”了，让你跟我一起，才是最妥当的做法。当然我也没怨你，你确实很优秀。我还留了个最后的挑战给你。在某个遗迹里，有我最宝贵的几样东西，如果你能拿到，就归你了。运用我教给过你的一招半式，要去到那里应该很容易。我亲爱的小弱鸡，这是我最后一次这样叫你了，我相信你的能力。记住，不要怠慢了训练。我们，后会无期。

Dear [name], I've had a little more time to think lately in this so-called Atara Maximum Prison, and I'm more than a little sorry that I couldn't bring you along to accompany me. Well, it's my fault. Yeah - I forgive you.I don't think there's a chance we'll ever be together again. You're just doing what you're supposed to do in your position, so there's nothing to complain about. I should have tried my best to recruit you from the beginning, and it would have been the best way to keep you with me. Of course I don't blame you, you're indeed excellent. I also left you a final challenge. In some ruins, there are a few of my most valuable things, and if you can get them, they're yours. It should be easy to get there, using the tricks I've taught you. And finally, if romanced, Pen will leave for the Builder 5 pieces of gold, 2 diamonds, and 1 Protector. 521 (and 520) are a cute way to say "I love you" in Chinese, because when read aloud they sound like "我爱你, Wo ai ni, "I love you". But in some cases, 521 also means "Yes, I will [marry you]" - and Pen does drop a diamond ring after his final battle (apparently he drops it only if you romanced him, but it's unclear yet. I'm pretty sure he didn't drop it during my Fang playthrough, while he did drop it when I romanced him, but I'll need to check that).

You were a normal human on earth. Just another anime fan, you liked Twisted Wonderland, nothing out of the ordinary. That was until you died. Your life wasn't to be happy about, but you didn't think it was that bad. 

You woke up. That entire dream was your past life! You woke up crying and your two older brothers came to check up on you as you slept in the same room. Your parents came to check up on you. You now know who they were. They leech family from your favorite game, but… why do you exist? You were never mentioned as a character, there was never any mention that the twins had a younger sibling, let alone a sister. 

Growing up, you always questioned your existence, but you tried not to think too hard about it. Maybe it was just the celestial being's way of apologizing for your untimely death. You got to meet Azul the year you went into the equivalent of middle school. The year Jade and Floyd met Azul. You've met him before and you helped him! But after a very small handful of meetings, Jade and Floyd had purposely tried limiting your time with him. Sure he was odd as a younger version to the version you're used to seeing, but he wasn't that bad! Every Time you tried to hang out with Azul with your brothers, something always came up where you couldn't. It was strange, but you decided not to question anything. What's the point if it can ruin your happiness?

We were fine not being able to attend Night Right College, you were happy with your life! Besides you were a girl, it's impossible for yo- Your parents bribed the Headmaster to allow you to attend as a student? That's new. You never really expressed any desire to go to the school. Although Jade and Floyd do complain about not seeing you as much, must have been on their request. You didn't mind, just caught off guard. Besides! You get to see the cast! Upon realizing you needed to prepare for the story. The plot except the arrival of the protagonist was the only thing you couldn't remember. Drats, you remembered when you were younger, but now, you don't remember one bit. Guess you were going in blind. 

When the time for the entrance ceremony arrived, everything went upside down. Not only was the protagonist one of the protagonists with a face, Yuuka Hirasaka, but everyone's eyes were on the both of you as the only girls on campus. You know this school is an all boys school, but did they have to make a huge deal out of it? At least the main cast didn't seem to mind too much, although Azul's eyes on Yuuka and you were unnerving. (He was looking at Yuuka too right?) You knew things were going to change the second Yuuka and grim have been deemed students and we're under your care. You may not remember the plot, but you remembered details on the main character. Like how they were not granted the position of student as soon as they arrived. Especially the fact that they were supposed to be the dorm leader of Ramshackle, not you.

When you and Yuuka left after the conundrum called the entrance ceremony, you felt like you had become prey despite being a predator. Especially with the eyes on you. 

As the school year went on, you recognized that almost everyone's behavior was, even your brothers, but for different reasons. They kept driving you away from the main cast. Yuuka and Grim were the only normal ones. It wasn't until after the Heartslabyul incident that your dorm mates had revealed the reason for your brother's weird behavior and left you with more questions for the others. Apparently everyone in the main cast has been asking about you. 

Was your presence in this world so impactful? No, it probably wasn't that. It was probably the difference between you and your older twin brothers. Their curiosity should calm down especially with the fact they don't even really know you.

I groaned as the light from my window flooded in across my face caused my skin to heat up, I forced my body up out of my bed and made the bed behind me, I went to my wardrobe and got some clothes on for today before headed to the small stove made myself a cup of tea and some toast to try and bring me into this world a little more. I finished my toast and was about halfway down my tea before I heard my door. I looked up and saw one of the nurses, I didn't know her name opened my door. This was very usual most nurses don't bother to knock or anything mostly because if they're getting me there isn't often really time to knock I guess. 

I looked at her and took her in a little, a pair of small black boots laced up to her knees, I would assume stockings but I don't know, the usual grey-washed-out nurses dress around her with an apron over it, nothing overly spectacular or noteworthy about her. She was cute I guess, but the main thing I noticed about her was her hair in a ponytail with a blue ribbon bow to tie it up.

"Doctor Dawkins?"

"Yes?" I asked, 

"The surgery is starting,"

"Right, I'll be down in a second." 

She nodded and went off back to her business, So I finished my tea and headed down to get on with work. 

I set up for surgery this afternoon and sorted everything I needed in the prep room, I heard the nurse who was to be helping me today arrive at the prep room, I didn't bother to look up at her I'm sure whoever it is can do her job. 

"Doctor," She smiled as she brought the leather apron over, 

I saw her and noticed it was her again, her little boots, grey washed-out uniform, and her hair with its blue bow ribbon keeping her hair in a bun. Ohh right that one, "Ahh Afternoon," I told her as she happily handed me the apron which I slipped over my head and she cheerfully buckled it at my back,

"Good Afternoon Doctor Dawkins," she smiled, 

"You know what we're doing?" 

"Yes sir," 

"Good, shall we get on then?" I asked her as I turned and handed her what we needed to take into the theatre, 

"Of course, yes." She nodded as she followed behind me like a little lost kitten,  

I sighed as I headed into the storage cupboard looking for, well peace for a few minutes. I shut the door and leaned against the wall, I took a moment to breathe and to straighten my head after today's madness. I let a few breaths out but I perked up as I heard another sound, I heard a gasp but not like a gasp of surprise. I looked into the cupboard and saw someone standing leaning against the side of the wooden shelf used to store towels, bedsheets, and other such things, given the angle they were mostly hidden. But I saw a foot around the shelf with a black knee-high lace boot, an exposed leg with some pale stockings, and the pulled-up fabric of a washed-out nurse uniform. They gasped and shifted their body a lot, I was almost worried they were hurt whoever they were. 

"Uhhh... Doctor Dawkins..." Her voice moaned softly,

Ohhh... What? What was that? she- she just moaned my name? Ohhhh this is gonna be fun.

"Uhh...uhhhh... ummmm..." Her voice muttered as she tried to be quiet, 

It was then as she moved her head I saw her hair in a half updo with a blue ribbon bow, 

Ohh! it's Blue bow. It's her. that- that one. who's the name... damn it still escapes me. I moved a little closer to try and see her better, Her back was against the wooden shelves and Her dress was tugged up around her waist exposing her white bloomers, she had moved the table close to her and perched herself on the corner of the wooden table she shifted and moved her body slowly to the rounded edge of the wooden table rubbed against her clit to pleasure her. Ughh fuck she looked so good... Umm my naughty little nurse. I had to admit watching her grind on the table moaning for me with that innocent little blue bow in her hair was more than enough to get me excited. But she moved off the table and I almost whined from disappointment, but she unbuttoned her dress and slipped her hand in plaid and fondled her breast she leant against the shelf and slipped her hand between her legs as she rubbed her clit and slipped her fingers inside herself.

Lucifer leaves the house on a weekend, alone, strolling through the streets, seemingly taking a long walk through the Devildom. He tries his best to look calm and collected, but his heart beats faster than usual. Nervousness builds up and he has a sinking feeling in his stomach. Maybe it's because he fears to fail you (how unlike of the Avatar of Pride). He notices that none of his mischievous brothers are following him and lets a sigh of relief out. He walks through the Devildom high fashion district and checks the jewelry stores, but the options are not quite what he's looking for. "*sigh* It cant be help". He needs to go to the human world. This is a human tradition after all.

Gate to gate from one human city to the Devildom, from the Devildom to another human city. In each, he visits a human jewelry shop after another. Until he finds it. In a fancy, historical, human city with a romantic aura, sitting in the display window of a beautiful small jewelry shop: "That's the one".

He gets a vintage engagement ring (or maybe one with beautiful details). He considered a ring with a blue sapphire gemstone or a ruby, as long as it has that classic design. So obviously, classic colors like blue or red, are a must. As he sees this ring in front of him, he realizes that it meets his other qualifications too: the gemstone might have a diamond cut -although Luci is not completely sure why he's so attracted to this design, it might be because it is a similar shape as the rhombus that he has in his forehead in his demon form. He also considered a cushion cut, and maybe a big gem in a gold or silver rim that matches your caring yet brave personality.

How did he decided to get an engagement ring?

The HoL is a mess as per usual: Asmo's dramatic antics, Mammon's entanglements, Levi's troublesome videogames, Satan and Belphie's pranks and Beel rummaging the kitchen. It always happens, it's always something. Asmo runs to Lucifer's with tears in the corners of his eyes, snitching about one of his brothers: "Big brother! Get this! He said...". But Luci has no energy, not at this time of the day. Come on! He just woke up!, they haven't even had breakfast yet! He's ready to snap: all of them could use some time hanging from the ceiling on their day off. Mammon has been visiting too many stores lately. On top of that, he's been working non-stop the past weeks. Both things combined take up all his time, time away from you. However, his efforts are for you, too. Since he decided to propose, he goes to jewelry stores almost every day, especially to those that sell human jewelry. He inspects every interesting piece one by one, checking price tags to know how much he has to save. These trips are tiring and annoying because, so far, he hasn't found something that he likes and that he thinks that you'll like.

One day, he drives downtown. He took his beautiful baby car to travel longer distances. Hey! The Devildom is big..., yet, it's the Devildom still: engagement rings are not a demonic tradition, and even the marriage rituals are very different. Maybe he should ask permission to go to the Human world and visit human jewelry stores? But that'd mean that he has to submit his luggage for inspection when returning, not to mention that he has to ask Lucifer for permission and provide the real reasons of his visit. Then his brothers would definitely know.

Maybe he should ask for an original design from a jewelry artist? But then, importing the engagement ring from the Human world would be troublesome, and it'd also mean that he has to declare his intentions with the ring as well. And what if the piece is not correct or it has any imperfections. His brothers would find out right away.

"Dammit! Maybe I should head back home for today".

Immerse in his thoughts, Mamms misses his exit, and ends up in an area of the Devildom that he didn't know that existed: a small town that is fully human world themed. Clothes, shoes, snacks, movies, items, everything is from the human world. Even the jewelry store at his left.

Mammon gets down of his Demonio 666 Lexura and runs inside the store. Completely absorbed in the rings, he ignores the employee trying to help him. But that's okay, because there it is, THE ring!, that one small little piece of jewelry that says it all.

Now Mammom only has to save a ton of money, until he has enough, right? Easier said than done. But once he has the right amount, he heads back to the store to buy it.

Although Mammon and you have officially been in a relationship for quite some time now, Mammon's tsundere nature prevents him from asking for help. He definitely doesn't want his brothers to find out, after all, this is a very intimate experience, even if he's planning an over the top proposal for you, it's a moment shared between you two only. Levi has been looking through Akuzon for engagement rings, but, of course, they are lousy and cheap. As he brainstorms, he realizes that something with personality is much more important. It doesn't matter what other people think or if the ring's design is out of the ordinary. In fact, the more creative, the better, right?

Levi doesn't have bad taste. After all, he has designed and sewed both original and cosplay outfits, all beautiful. Creativity and originality is part of him and he sees that in you too. He thinks about your tastes first, which is why he goes for a design that evokes that. He buys something that reflects you! Although he's so insecure that he ends up asking one of his more fashionable brothers to go with him (probably Asmo or Mammon or both); however, their suggestions don't align with what he has in mind and end up confusing him. You suggested a popular human anime movie to watch together that night. He wasn't so convinced since this movie is quite popular in all realms, even millions of normies have watched it around the world. On top of that is a romantic movie. Ugh!

To marry without love must be terrible. To marry with love seems better, but everything depends on the conditions in which one gets married. If you're stressed because you're about to give birth to an unplanned daughter with a love that no longer serves you, and a fake marriage is your only solution, marrying seems like hell. Unfortunately, you're discovering this the hard way. At least you and your daughter are doing well health-wise. Namjoon and Jin keep checking in to make sure you're taking care of yourself, while Hoseok and the younger ones try to help with the marriage. The fans of the group that your daughter's father is a part of have surprisingly accepted well the fact that you're pregnant with Yoongi and that you're getting married. Everyone bought into the story of marrying out of love and the pregnancy being the result of a cute hidden formal relationship. The wedding with Yoongi was quick and without much fuss. Your belly is too big, time is short so a short wedding was perfect.

"I think this is the last box. Who knew I'd be moving into your house, pregnant with your baby and married to you. It doesn't feel real." You say organizing your last moving box while Yoongi organizes the baby's room.

"I finished setting up our daughter's room. I think it looks nice..." Yoongi comments as he watches you organize the rest of the clothes in the wardrobe.

"Can we talk for a bit?" You ask, sitting down on the corner of Yoongi's bed, which will soon be your bed together.

"We've barely been married, and we're already going to have a serious conversation?" Yoongi tries to be funny, but you look at him somewhat indifferent.

"I think some things need to be talked about. We're almost at a stage where another human being will depend exclusively on us. I think it's important that you know you'll have to be involved in Ji-soo's life. And I know it's premature, but I think Min Ji-soo, a beautiful name, and since I'm carrying her, then..." You speak defensively but without getting worked up.

"You notice that in this relationship, we should be a team and not rivals, right?" Yoongi speaks, taking a strand of his hair that was touching his eyes, while you look at him. You don't know if you're mad at him or if you agree with him.

"This whole situation is crazy. I dated you because I loved you and now we're married and I feel like I'm at the point where I'm stopping loving you. We need to fix this before the baby arrives." You say getting physically closer to Yoongi, your hand held his.

"What is your suggestion?" Yoongi asks holding her hand. A silly smile appeared on his face and you felt shy for a moment.

"May we try to be peaceful with each other. Maybe we can be bold too." You say, raising your hand to Yoongi's neck, pulling him into a kiss. A kiss that reminded you of what it was like to love him, making you feel intoxicated by the sensation of kissing Yoongi. 

However, a sudden pain makes you pull away from Yoongi, letting out a groan of pain. It almost felt like your baby was kicking your belly, but usually, that didn't cause such intense pain. When you look down, you see blood on your pants, staining the floor of the room. Yoongi looks at you terrified, and you feel a sense of panic engulfing you.

"Yoongi, I'm not feeling well. I think there's something wrong with our girl." You say, feeling another pang of pain in your belly and slowly becoming dizzy. The pain was so intense that you almost blacked out when trying to stand up.

"Jagiya, listen to me. Let's go to the hospital, but I need you, for the sake of our daughter and yourself, to try to stay conscious." Yoongi says, grabbing the bag they had prepared for the baby and the car keys. 

"If something happens, take care of our daughter for me. I know you'll be a good father." You say, feeling like you'll lose consciousness soon. The little strength you have, you use to gently touch your belly, as if saying goodbye to your little girl.

"I don't know what you're talking about. You and I are going to be great parents, together. I promise you that everything will be fine." You hear Yoongi say, so you look at him and touch his face. A last caress before the uncertain end. And then everything fades away, and you see nothing more.

HUSKERDUST IS AMAZING!!! ... sort of

Okay, so, Hazbin Hotel. Obviously HUGE SPOILER WARNING ahead, but this show was fantastic! I've been a fan of Vivziepop's work for a while now, and even though I don't really enjoy Helluva Boss, I was really looking forward to Hazbin for many years. However, just because you really enjoyed something doesn't mean you can't acknowledge its flaws. And in a show with as many pacing issues as Hazbin, where do you even begin? Well, my personal main issue with the show was Huskerdust. Not because the ship isn't likeable, it's simply because most of what I didn't like about the show can link back to these two characters and their dynamic. So I guess I'm using them as my Trojan's horse in a way!

Huskerdust, which is the ship name between Husk and Angel Dust, is one of the main romances within Hazbin Hotel. Vivzie told us it would be a slow burn pretty early on, but honestly I think this ship is one of the fastest slow burns known to man. I mean, they had a cutesy little duet where they danced together in the fourth episode! This is tied to an underlying issue with the show's pacing all together. If Hazbin had more episodes like it should've, I think this "slow burn" concept would've worked better. Considering the fact we only had episodes, and the two characters still haven't really "confessed" or kissed yet, I suppose you could call it whatever you want to really.

The two characters and their dynamic is set up very early on, even in the pilot. It'll usually go something like, Angel will target Husk because he's the only one Angel can get a reaction out of in the hotel. Angel will do anything from making an innuendo, to literally sexually harassing Husk. And naturally, Husk will get frustrated because Angel is pushing his boundaries. Do I think it's weird that a show which talks about SA still uses sexual harassment as the butt of its jokes? Yeah, I think it's super weird and a little insensitive. But it's not my place to comment on such matters because I'm not properly educated, so I'm just gonna brush over it for now. It just makes this ship a little tough to swallow for me, considering Angel's blatant disregard for Husk's feelings.

However, even though Husk is the only one Angel can toy with at the hotel, Husk is also the only one who "sees through" Angel and the fake persona he uses as a means to cope and protect himself. This creates conflict, because Husk will call Angel out when Angel pushes his buttons, and Angel will get defensive and lash out. We see this in episode four; Masquerade. After a bad "shoot" with Valentino, Angel comes back to the hotel and gets into an argument with Husk which causes him to storm out. Charlie and Vaggie send Husk after him, and Husk finds Angel at a dive bar of some kind (I think).

Before we continue with Huskerdust, I've got something major I need to get off my chest about this episode. If Charlie is so "madly powerful' like Lucifer, and she knows Angel is being mistreated by Val, why can't she free Angel from his contract? Or at least try to talk to Angel about his situation after this episode? Maybe she did, and we just didn't see it because of the five-month-long time skip (which is another problem with this show's pacing), or maybe soul contracts work outside of angelic power. But I feel like it would've been nice if they told us that Charlie tried to help Angel more, just for my own peace of mind. Because to me, I just felt like Husk and Charlie brushed off the reality of Angel's situation very easily, regardless of that the fact that they're in Hell or not. I get that shitty things probably happen in Hell all the time, but c'mon!

Speaking of Charlie, this show does an awful lot of telling when it comes to Charlie's issues and not a lot of showing, Her "daddy issues" are one example of this, but right now I'm talking about how the characters often mention that Charlie solves everyone's problems to avoid her own. I thought this could be a interesting character flaw in hindsight, because wanting to solve everyone's problems for them can lead to a lot of boundaries being pushed, and character conflict arising. I was a bit surprised when Charlie immediately left the studio after Angel yelled at her, and seemed to handle is extremely maturely. She even goes as far as to blame what happened on herself when it was clearly Valentino's fault. While I think it's cool that Charlie handled everything so well, I also would've liked to see her struggle with this a little more. I think the concept of Charlie not knowing when to back off could be a good opportunity for some actual growth from her, instead of her development or growth just being explained to us every episode. Unfortunately though, Hazbin clearly didn't have the time for this kind of character work because the show is so plot heavy.

Back to the ship, once Husk finds Angel the two sing a song called Loser, Baby. Which is basically Husk trying to cheer Angel up and get him to stop self-loathing so much. I'll get a little personal for a minute and say if I was Angel this would not have worked on me at all. While I do think Angel has some self-hatred problems, his issues clearly run so much deeper than that. However, this was obviously just the first step in Angel's long road to healing I suppose, considering he only opened up to Husk so much. That being said, it's not like we even get to see Angel heal or develop further because of the time skip. Something else that rubbed me the wrong way with this whole scene was how Husk tried to relate to Angel by speaking about his own experience with Alastor. We find out that Husk used to be an Overlord, and that he lost his soul to Alastor in some kind of bet or card game. Alastor is one of our main characters, and they really put him up side by side with Valentino, out of the blue like that, like... Let's all think logically for a minute. This, combined with that one scene from episode five, made me like Alastor a little less. I understand that Alastor is sick and twisted, he's completely and undeniably evil. But seeing how his actions directly affect another member of our main cast was really off putting, and it put such a huge damper on this "found family" energy that Hazbin Hotel was clearly was aiming for.

Oh, and remember when I mentioned Valentino? Yeah, he's not safe either. I didn't even think twice about this character until one of my friends told me Val was their favorite character. It made me look back on all his scenes, and I realized something. He's actually really funny, and pretty entertaining to watch. Even the way he talks about Angel Dust when Angel Dust isn't present is played for the laughs. If anything, the way Val acted in episode four was a complete 180 from episode two. I thought this was a questionable writing choice, I'll be honest. Why would you purposefully write this character to be almost likeable to a certain extent, only to have him commit inexcusable crimes in the next episode. Look, if you're a Valentino fan, good for you. I'm not going to tell anyone not to like a certain character, because that's just not fair. I just personally disagree with the way Val was written. I think trying to paint Val as if he's just like every other character on this show whenever he's not actively abusing Angel really diminishes Angel's suffering from a viewer perspective.

I also feel like episode four kind of dug it's own grave in a sense, regardless of anything I've said so far. Because this episode is entirely about Angel Dust, he obviously gains development and growth from it. And in a show like Hazbin, with poor pacing and not enough time to flesh out characters, Angel's current development now sets him apart from anybody else in the entire series. Now even Charlie, the main character, seems one dimensional when compared to Angel Dust.

Circling back to Huskerdust again, I should probably acknowledge that Husk and Angel never even got another real one-on-one interaction after this episode for the rest of the show! Except for a really small one in episode six. But they literally exchange like three sentences, and about four or five months have passed between episode four and six, so do with that what you will. Not to mention, Husk refers to Angel as “kid” in one of these sentences. While I do think the age gap between Angel and Husk is strange, I feel like it’s easily defendable. I’m sure once Husk and Angel actually become a couple, Husk will stop calling Angel a kid. And we all know Angel isn’t a legal minor by any means. I don’t think it was necessary for the story though, and the two easily could’ve been made closer in age so this ship wouldn’t seem as… peculiar. Let's also remind ourselves that Huskerdust somehow has more substance than the main pre-existing couple. Yet again, this is just a side effect of "too much to do, not enough time to do it". But we will save the Chaggie discussion for another day...

So, do any of these things make Huskerdust bad? No, not in my opinion, at least. I'm still rooting for this ship no matter what, and I will personally be storming Prime Video HQ if they don't become canon next season. I think all ships and shows have their own problems, and for whatever reason the problems within Hazbin Hotel stood out to me more than I was expecting. Still, I did enjoy this show a lot. I might even do another post about it soon. And I'll definitely be counting down the days until season two drops!

I watched S2E02 of What If

Someone in the animation department really adores the Winter Soldier. He is gorgeously animated (as GIFs have shown), even though his screen time is incredibly short. The way the light and shadows play across his face and eyes is incredibly faithful to the CATWS movies, and perfectly captures the sense of threat he brings in CATWS.

Overall, the episode is fairly neutral, and does bring up an interesting parallel universe where Bucky broke free in the 80s, which...might change the entire trajectory of Tony, Nat and Yelena's lives.

But, maybe because my impression is coloured by other episodes of What If and what's coming, I can't help but think this is another attempt at "correcting" fan perception around Howard Stark and Peggy Carter's culpability. Look! They weren't involved! It was the Russians!

But like that other Peggy-centric episode of What If, the more they tried to whitewash her, the worse it seems? They recognised him on sight, with the damn mask on, something even Steve wasn't able to do in CATWS, because unlike Steve they knew he was alive all along. Peggy makes references to "the rumours", while Howard dismisses it because there's hardly a man in there (or something along those lines) and "we've got bigger fish to fry".

They knew all along but they never thought it was anywhere in their priorities to investigate or try to rescue the longest serving POW or Steve's best friend. But they have no qualms using Bucky's emotional attachment to Steve when it serves their purpose.

Because why would they. No matter how you whitewash their characters, they're still power-obsessed individuals who never cared who was hurt in their way.

PS: as a former seiyuu-con, Atwell's voice acting really is...bad. Stood out like a sore thumb because everyone was so much better than her. SebStan was pulling his usual Winter Soldier voice here rather than the young Bucky voice he used for the other episode of What If, but I'm not sure if it's a conscious choice.

So overall I don't like the OFMD Reddit. I've tried to create a post about why narratively I felt S2 didn't work ignoring the Izzy stuff, one only about the Izzy stuff(since there are very few Izzy-focused fans on there), then another talking about Olu/Jim/(Archie/Zheng) talking about why I was disappointed in it. If it's a negative post, moderators won't approve the post to go live. Which I don't love. But okay, if you want a positive echo chamber to offset Tumblr and Twitter about this season, sure.

I still check it out of curiosity when I stumble across this GEM.

We've had quite a bit of time to debate this. Almost two years, and this was posted 11/15/23. Yes, the OP was very kind (I agree that Ed thought that Stede was cool cause he beat Izzy, and was a new pirate on the scene. Then once he realizes how dumb the crew is the plan springs up into place), and I'm not hating on them specifically. Just that some social media places are just still at this point.

I blame a large section of the fanbase for not EVER reading any Izzy POV meta. Who are now scrambling to go back to rewatch S1 knowing what we know about Izzy now.

If you want to see all the responses, ranging from those I agree with to those that are just wild, let me know, I might put the link in the comments my favorites range from. 'Blackbeard wanted to but Ed didn't' to the usual Izzy is a superhuman being. To 'ALL THIS WAS JUST TO KEEP IZZY ON THE SHIP'?

Do they not see how INTERESTING the dynamic between Ed and Izzy is? That their relationship is giving and pulling at just the right times? Izzy trying to maintain their shield and Ed desperately trying to find a life where he doesn't hate himself? Both of them DON'T REALLY WANT THIS-Ed being openly suicidal to Izzy keeping his head down and working- living day by day- each NOT talking about their issues.

That hiding behind the Blackbeard name is the only way they'll survive? That killing Stede Bonnet could genuinely give Ed the out he craves. Izzy could then Captain a ship full of a crew that (theoretically) already fears and respects him?

[Not that Izzy would be good at it, or even want to be away from Ed, but you get my point. This was a *change in their lives* that is VERY tempting to two men who have been in survival mode for YEARS-

Also, it's very obvious Jenkins didn't plan Izzy's character out, so Izzy wanting to captain to me can just be written off as Jenkins not knowing the character yet, since he NEVER PAYS THE SCENE -WHERE IZZY IS FLATTERED AT POTENTIALLY BEING GIVEN TITLE CAPTIN-OFF (cough cough Izzy could have been the captain/first mate S2ep8)...moving on]

If Lucius didn't stumble in, Ed would have killed Stede here. He was aiming for a fatal spot in his neck and actively swinging down, I couldn't find a gif and had to take a photo on my phone, but you get my point.

Ed then realizes that not only was he willing to kill a guy who, overall, had been very kind to him, but then gets the Kraken as a reminder that he HAS killed. That he's spent his entire life killing to put himself into a better spot. Slowly rising up the ranks, and it's never been enough to keep him happy. Be it his dad, or fuck, even killing this rich dude and stealing his identity.

Izzy is SO EVIL guys, Ed doesn't want to kill Stede! He just has to pretend to be violent in front of Izzy so Izzy doesn't mutiny or leave him!! Doesn't that TOTALLY make sense? Ed's struggling since he never wanted to kill Stede, and he's struggling with the 'order' Izzy gave him!!

You walked into KQ, fingers drumming against your coffee cup nervously. You felt like you couldn't sit or stand still. Even as you stood in the lift, your foot tapped against the floor impatiently. This was too much stress for you.

"Indi. You're going to turn blue. Breathe." Hongjoong said as he met you outside the lift. You had texted him, telling him you were feeling so nervous you felt like you were going to throw up.

"If they hate all my songs, they're going to cancel my contract." You whimpered. Just the thought made you dizzy.

"Stop that." Hongjoong scolded, fanning your face.

"Did you sleep at all?" Hongjoong asked.

"No... I couldn't sleep, thinking I should have sent in another song." You sighed. Hongjoong placed his hands on your shoulders, massaging them to try and help you relieve the tension.

"What would calm you down now? I would offer you a shot but you shouldn't drink now." Hongjoong tried to lighten the mood.

"You're terrible at comforting people." You wailed.

"I don't know how to do this! Seonghwa is the one that comforts the kids, not me." Hongjoong panicked, patting your back to soothe you. He led you to your studio first to at least put your bag down. You grabbed your laptop and iPad, sipping the remains of your coffee and grabbing an energy drink from the fridge.

"Umm, maybe you shouldn't..." Hongjoong gulped as he watched your empty two cans of energy drink into the empty cup where your coffee was previously.

"I need to keep awake and focused." You closed the cup and took a sip, cringing at the taste.

"I don't even like energy drinks." You groaned.

Today was the big producer meeting. You had submitted your tracks last week for the deliberation of the KQ executives. They will be discussing which songs made it into Ateez's next album.

"Are you sure you can't be there?" You asked. Both Mingi and Hongjoong couldn't go for the meeting because all the boys had a recording schedule.

"Haven't you done song evaluations before though?" Hongjoong asked from his seat on your couch.

"No... People usually come to me and tell me they want my song. Now it's the other way, I'm convincing them to use my songs. I don't know how I'm going to do that." You hung your head.

You didn't know why you were so nervous when you were usually nonchalant and calm about this. As much as you knew he would have brought comfort, you even told Mingi not to come over last night. You just needed to be on your own.

"It's out of your hands now. If they pick it, that's great. If not, we'll try next time. You're not getting fired." Hongjoong assured.

"Can you and Seonghwa be there when I'm done, please?" You requested. Of course you would want Mingi there but you didn't want to make it too obvious.

"We'll be back as soon as the schedule is over." Hongjoong held your hand. You nodded with a forced smile.

"I have to go now. Will you be okay?" Hongjoong tilted his head.

"Yeah. I'll see you later."

"Okay. Don't psych yourself out." Hongjoong wrapped an arm around you to give you a tight hug before leaving your studio. You ran your fingers through your hair and sat down in front of your desk.

"Indigo? You good? Hongjoong came and told me to check up on you." Eden poked his head in through the open door to your studio. You pulled your mask up and turned around to face him. That was when he saw the expression on your face and let out a laugh. He knew that nervous look all too well.

"Are you nervous? I can see it in your eyes." Eden asked.

"I've... never done this before. What if I suck?" You gulped. To that, Eden laughed again.

"If you suck, I wouldn't have convinced the bosses to bring you in to work with Ateez. It's okay to be nervous for your first album meeting." Eden chuckled, folding his arms.

"There have been times where they didn't like any songs we submitted and made us redo everything. It happens." He comforted.

"I'm usually collected with such situations. I don't know why I'm so nervous." You confessed.

"It's normal to feel that way. I'm sure they don't have such evaluation meetings underground, do they?" Eden smiled. You shook your head, sipping your energy drink.

"After the meeting, go home and head straight to bed. You need to sleep." He said. You nodded in agreement. Once this was over, you were going to sleep and hopefully have Mingi there with you. You had to admit you slept better with him around.

"Thank you, Eden." You looked up at him. In that moment, Eden saw you as just a kid, not the mysteriously aloof underground Producer Indigo.

"Don't mention it. I'll come get you later so we can go for the meeting together." He patted your head.

While waiting for the time of the meeting to come, you decided to work on your OST project. Hongjoong had given you some great tips and Maddox had also given some input and advice.

Closing the chatroom, you let out a sigh. You knew deep down that this was a big opportunity for you.

"They've worked hard for me to just leave like that." You looked over to the group picture of you and Ateez on your desk, taken during song camp.

For now, you were just going to keep this to yourself. It didn't involve anyone else except you since the offer was for after your contract with KQ finishes. But the idea of being signed to a company 'permanently' was daunting. You pushed the thought aside and continued working on your OST project.

RINGGGGGG

"Hello? Mings?" You answered, putting the phone on speaker.

"Hey. I heard from Hongjoong hyung that you were really nervous about the meeting so I wanted to call and ask if you were doing okay since I couldn't see you last night."

"Honestly just hearing your voice now is making me feel so much better. I should have asked you over last night." You said.

"You'll be fine, okay? Trust me. Breathe, calm yourself down. I'm there with you."

"I really hope they pick the group song. You guys worked so hard on it and I just want them to give it a chance." You sighed.

"That's what we want too. But we know that the decision isn't up to us. If they don't pick it, it won't be your fault. We understand that there are a multitide of reasons."

"I should have come over last night... Made sure you at least got a few hours of sleep."

"No, Mings. It's not your fault, I wouldn't have been able to sleep at all. But can I see you after your schedule? If it's bad news, I might need you comfort me. If it's good news, I need you to celebrate with me." You requested.

"Of course. I'll see you later today then. Good luck."

"Thank you. You too, be safe while you're recording." You smiled softly at the phone before he hung up. Now that made you feel slightly better.

"Indigo? Ready to go?" Eden came.

"Yeah." You saved your work before you packed up what you needed and left with Eden.

"The last time I was here. I was signing a contract with you. Today, I feel like my contract is going to be dissolved." You tried to make a joke but it somehow made you feel worse.

"They aren't going to dissolve your contract. Calm down, you're only scaring yourself at this point." Eden chuckled.

"Ready?" He asked, putting a hand on the door handle. You took a deep breath and nodded, putting your best game face on to hide your nerves.

"Good morning." You and Eden greeted the executives as you entered. While waiting for the other Edenary members to come in, you opened your laptop and got your iPad ready to take any notes that you might need.

"So Indigo, how has it been working with Edenary and the Ateez members?" The CEO, Kim Kyuwook, asked.

"They've all been great, all very hard workers. I've learnt a lot from working with them, both the producing team and the Ateez members themselves." You replied.

"Glad to hear. They're good boys, all 8 of them, with great potential." Kyuwook smiled.

"I agree." You said stiffly.

"I hear you've been doing great work with them. I'm happy to hear that." He wouldn't be so happy to know you've been in an unsaid courtship with one of the members. You gulped at the thought.

"Sorry, we're here. Let's begin." The last members of Edenary entered the room and the executives turned to CEO to start the meeting. He began to recap the main concepts that was discussed with Eden the last time they met. Eden had conveyed all of this to the team, including Hongjoong and Mingi.

"This is our marketing executive." The CEO introduced and sat back down in his seat.

"So we've received and thoroughly reviewed all the songs that have been submitted last week." The marketing executive stood up to speak, taking over from the CEO.

"These are the songs we have picked. The star indicates the title song and the rest will be the b-side songs." He explained.

Seonghwa and Hongjoong were waiting outside the conference room for you. They were in their plain clothes but didn't bother to remove their make up.

"Thank you for your time."

"Looking forward to see your work."

The two straightened up when they noticed all the producers bowing and exchanging niceties with the executives as they exited the meeting room. But Hongjoong and Seonghwa didn't approach, remaining unseen by their bosses.

"Indi." Hongjoong called out to you. You looked up, your face void of any emotion. Seonghwa cast Hongjoong a worried glance.

"Let's go to my studio." You spoke. The two nodded and walked with you to your studio.

"It's okay-" Seonghwa was ready to comfort you when you fell against him, your legs giving out from the rollercoaster of emotions you've been experiencing the entire day.

"They liked it..." You said softly.

"What?" Hongjoong couldn't hear.

"They loved it. The group song from song camp, everything. They want it to be the secondary track for promotion." You looked up at Seonghwa and Hongjoong.

"They really liked it? That's great news, princess." Seonghwa stroked your head while Hongjoong cheered and jumped excitedly.

"I'm so happy. It's all thanks to you guys, your hard work and dedication. The CEO loved it and knew the fans would appreciate it. And they want my other song to be the title song. So 2 songs out of 3 got picked." You added. Hongjoong and Seonghwa both hugged you like proud parents.

"You did it! We knew you could do it." Hongjoong grinned.

"We're so proud of you." Seonghwa kissed your forehead. Hongjoong took his phone out to call the others.

"Indigo did it! Our group song is going to be in our next album! And our title track was also one of the songs that we submitted." He said into the phone.

"They liked our song?!"

"Woooo!!!"

"Knew you could do it, Indigo!"

You heard cheers of happiness and congratulations through the chaos on the other end of the call.

"Thank you. Everything aside, I'm just really so happy they liked to group produced song. You guys worked so hard while we were at song camp to produce that song, that's why they could feel your dedication." You said.

"We have to celebrate this win! For our track and for Indigo's own track being chosen as the title track." Seonghwa suggested, earning cheers of approval.

"Yeah! Let's have Korean beef! Hongjoong hyung's treat."

"Yah, Choi Jongho. You're very good at giving out money that isn't yours." Hongjoong scolded the maknae.

"Hyung, you have to show your support and love. Even if you don't play into the family thing, you said she's practically the little sister you never had."

"I'll do that but that doesn't mean I have to pay for you guys too. She's the one that got the achievement." Hongjoong scowled.

"But we're a family, hyung."

"I'm hanging up." Hongjoong didn't even let them protest before he hung up on them, putting the phone in his back pocket. Your phone buzzed in your pocket and you didn't need to check to know who the text was from. Thankfully Seonghwa and Hongjoong didn't hear. You knew Mingi was texting you.

"Your hardwork paid off. See? I told you they won't dissolve your contract or fire you." Hongjoong patted your head, making your cheeks heat up in embarrassment.

"Fire you? Yah, Indigo ah... You seriously scare yourself too much." Seonghwa clicked his tongue in disapproval.

"I'm grateful I have the two of you here with me. I don't have parents but who cares when I have the two of you who always encourage me. Thank you." You wrapped your arms around them to hug them.

"We're glad we can support you and give you the confidence you need." Seonghwa smiled.

"Okay! Time for you to go home and sleep. We will celebrate tomorrow or this weekend." Hongjoong said.

"You really didn't sleep last night?" Seonghwa's eyes widened.

"Why are you still surprised?" Hongjoong scoffed but he meant it more as a disapproving scoff to you. Seonghwa shook his head with a small frown while you shrunk back.

"We're supposed to be celebrating! Not focusing on my bad working habits." You squeaked. However, you did pack up your bag and the two made sure that their manager sent you straight home before they went back to the dorm.

'Hwa and Joong sent me home. I'm going to sleep for a bit. You can let yourself in if I'm not awake. - Indigo'

'Alright. Sleep tight. - Mings'

You threw your work back in your studio before going to take a shower. As you stood under the running water, you couldn't help but the soft smile on your face.

"We did it." You said to yourself, letting a sigh of relief. All the hard work and stress paid off.

You were happy to be able to prove yourself since this was technically your first project 'above ground' and working with an actual company, not through a ghost serve like usual.

"Haneul!" You were drying your hair when you called Haneul.

"Unnie! Did you win?" She asked. When you told Haneul you had an important work thing, she could only liken it to a competition.

"I guess you can say that." You chuckled. As much as you tried to explain to her that it wasn't a win/lose type of competition, she still didn't really understand it. But she was so adorable in cheering you on to 'win' and 'get first place' that you didn't bother correcting her anymore and let her be.

"Yay! Unnie is the best!"

"I was only able to win because I had you cheering me on. We'll celebrate when I go meet you this weekend, okay? Eat delicious food and play." You melted.

"Okay! Will the oppas be there too?" She asked excitedly. Now Haneul wanted to involve Ateez in all your plans.

"If they aren't working. No promises on that." You replied. She hummed in acknowledgement.

After speaking with Haneul, you went to sleep. The previous night of not sleeping and the nights before that of broken sleep finally caught up to you. When you woke up, it was past 8pm.

"Is Mingi not here yet?" You rubbed your eye, checking your phone. But there was no text or call from him.

"Mings? Are you here?" You turned on the living room lights. Your eyes widened as you froze, seeing your living room all decorated. There were balloons and a cake on the coffee table. Soft hip hop music played in the background.

"Mingi? Where are you? What is this...?" You went up to the cake to read the writing.

'Will you be my girlfriend?'

Someone cleared their throat and you whipped your head around to see Mingi standing by the kitchen with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. He pushed up the glasses that was slipping down his nose.

"Mings..." You were speechless.

"I know I said I would wait for you to talk about us. But I felt that I should at least properly ask you out first." Mingi said.

"I see... Wow, this is definitely a surprise. I was so deep in sleep I didn't even know you came in and did all this." You gestured to the decorations in the living room. Mingi rubbed the back of his neck.

"I was careful to be quiet and not wake you. Do you like it?" He asked. You nodded in confirmation.

"You don't have to say yes or no right now if you're not ready to talk about it. I just wanted to ask you in case you thought I wasn't serious or anything." Mingi rambled nervously. You laughed, stepping up to him to receive his flowers. You were grateful that Mingi patiently waited for you.

"Thank you for waiting. And yes, I'll be your girlfriend." You giggled. Mingi broke into a big grin, wrapping his arms around you to lift you up. You squealed as he spun you around excitedly.

"I can finally call you mine." Mingi put his hands on your cheeks and pressed his lips against yours.

OKOKOK so two things:

ONE!! I am setting a hard boundary right now, I'm not taking fnaf requests. I am writing this solely because I miss the character and writing for them. I'm not pulling another F13 incident, I will not be entertaining any fnaf requests that may be sent because of this post (/lighthearted and not mad, but very firm)

Oh this boy gets jealous badly.. all of these feelings are new to him, so can you blame him for being a little possessive of you! Now sure, he might not do anything to cause problems. Primarily because there isnt much for him to do.. but he does sour a little when he hears about someone trying to make moves on you.. imagine the drama if one of the parents tried to flirt with you while they were trying to pick up their kid! Very firmly says that it is not the appropriate place or time for such talk in a passive aggressive tone oversaturated with sickly sweetness. Goes into a sort of denial when asked about it, his rays clicking around

KISS:

Said this before but I'll say it again. He very gently boinks his faceplate against your face.. usually he tries to aim for the mouth or cheek, but due to how his face is built he kind of bumps into your whole face.. it's still sweet though! He loves when you kiss his forehead and nose! Kiss the back of his hands and he will mock fan himself with his free hand. Bonus points if you bow when you do it, he loooooves theatrics

YEARN:

Does not handle it well. Hes antsy waiting for you to come on your next shift, often bouncing from one foot to the other while he counts down the minutes. Working with the kids does help take his mind off of it, though! Just as long as he has something to keep him occupied, he can function well enough without you around!

So, I have another theory.

What's Asagiri's name? Kafka. Who else is Kafka? Franz Kafka. And who's this Franz? A writer. He's mostly known for the book "The Metamorphosis". Metamorphosis means change, right? And what can THE BOOK do? Change the reality.

So, in the Metamorphosis is told the story if a young man who suddenly transformed into a bug. His family tries to help him come back to normal and even give him food he would like in the new body, like rotten cheese. But after around a year the bug/guy overheard a conversation between his parents and sister. They all said they hated him and that they didn't need him anymore, so the guy/bug died from depression in a day. (This is a very short summary, I skipped over a lot of details)

The idea of the story is that one's change will change the whole world. And that's exactly what the book does. Changes the world.

So, according to my theory, the book is the ability Metamorphosis.

Now, about the author/character. He meets the criteria to be a BSD character. Dead, depressed, daddy issues (this is only half joke), religion trauma (kinda) and so on. He was a fan of Dostoievsky's and Gogol's work. So he could easily be a BSD character.

But this book doesn't exactly seem the kind of ability the good guys have, does it? So I think Kafka is a villain. If you may, the last antagonist they will fight. So I made some research to find ties between him and Atsushi Nakajima, because as mentioned in the Guild arc, Atsushi is the only one who could find the book. Turns out that Nakajima was a fan of Kafka and translated his works in Japanese. And not only that. The story Atsushi's ability is based on is about a guy who transformed into a tiger because he's very frustrated because of his poems that don't seem to work. I haven't read this one, but from what I've seen online it's very similar to the Metamorphosis. And this is why he'll be the only one able to find the book.

As we all noticed, usually the relationship between two characters is the opposite of the author's relationship (e.g: irl Ranpo was a huge fan of irl Poe, BSD Poe is a huge fan of BSD Ranpo, irl Yosano loved irl Mori, BSD Yosano hates BSD Mori). So, based on this, I would say that Kafka will most definitely be a villain.

The thing is, why would Asagiri choose to have the pen name of the ultimate villain?

Because the BSD story is supposed to be a world made by the book and Franz Kafka is Asagiri Kafka.

In conclusion: Franz/Asagiri Kafka will be the last antagonist of the series. His ability, the book, is Metamorphosis. And I'm delusional.

This could be wrong. After all, it's a theory. But let me know what you think, because I'm really curious.

Something I dislike about Chloe’s damnation is how her good actions never have that “selfish” part of them

My main examples is Zombisue and Queen wasp

She sacrificed herself to save ladybug and apologizes at the end, saving ladybug is selfless since she genuinely trusts ladybug will save them all (LIKE CHAT NOIR DOES, she’s doing the same chat does and is meant to and she doesn’t gain anything from apologizing since she already looks good in ladybug’s eyes for saving her

And in queen wasp she knows she’ll won’t be getting the miraculous back but she gives it up because of her devotion to ladybug

If the writers wanted to make her seem evil and selfish they would have given her something to gain out of this situations like money or fame, not the sympathy of her idol, is like the writers don’t know how to make actions have a selfish intentions to them and it shows with Marinette

Marinette has done this multiple times (for example she goes to Shanghai under the excuse of following Adrien which is extremely selfish) and the writers never seem to notice

I once read a fanfic called “bad for business” about a side villain of a show (which show ain’t important) not joining the main villains which invade he’s territory and basically plan to destroy the whole place.

The villain constantly makes deals and promises with selfish goals knowing full well most of he’s Allie’s might end up weakened, in Jail or dead at the end, and everything he does is selfish even if they aren’t flat out evil (I will help them in this turf war so they will help ME in this turf war, I will give them valuable information so they will destroy our mutual enemies for ME, I will kill this terrorist so I can frame it for the murder of another goon I murdered)

And the fan fic makes this clear every single scene, he does have good traits like caring for he’s partner and trying (emphasis on trying) to console a girl (which would have been he’s enemy in the canon show) after the two think a friend of hers died in front of their eyes but even till the end it’s shown how he’s never done a single selfless thing in the whole history and that’s why despite everything he did on the fic and what he wanted to achieve and by the means he did, he still rooted for him, because he was evil and nothing was hiding it (specially not the writer)

Meanwhile miraculous doesn’t know the difference between a selfish and selfless action, a fanfic does something better than miraculous, a fanfic of a series far worse than miraculous is more aware of good and evil than a children’s show

God I love ranting about miraculous mistakes and double standards

I feel like the writers have no idea what an anti-hero is, because characters are either completely perfect and can do no wrong, or they're complete monsters who are pure evil.

The show tries to write characters like Chloe, Gabriel, and Felix in a morally gray light, yet the writers always try to either downplay their actions or act like they've been good from the start.

The whole point of writing an anti-hero is that it allows you to explore stories in a way that differ from the usual moral paragons people are used to seeing in superhero media. These kind of characters usually find ways to accomplish their goals that don't allign with the beliefs we have. It makes us think about whether the ends justify the means, or how thin is the line between being a hero and being a villain.

But this show doesn't do that sort of thing. When a character does something, it's either good or bad, no matter the consequences it has. I'm not saying we need complex writing on the same level as Breaking Bad for this show, but if they're going to try and discuss topics like redemption for past deeds, you need to draw a line and show what kind of things are okay to do, what things aren't okay to do, and why actions are viewed in a certain way.

I'm a fan of the Saiyuki/Monkey 1978 show and I thought I'd throw in some extra info after seeing that last anon ask about "why is sanzang often a woman in japanese media"

First off, I hope I don't come across as nitpicky, but the show in English is called "Monkey", not "Monkey Magic", and the only reason I point that out because there IS another JttW adaptation (animated series, but also from Japan) called "Monkey Magic" and I don't want anyone to get the two confused. (But the theme song to Monkey 1978 IS called "Monkey Magic" so confusion abounds lol) You said "many Japanese media followed its example and had Sanzang be a woman." While Sanzang is often played by a female actress in Japanese media, the character is almost always still male, at least in the more mainstream direct adaptations of the JttW story. DBZ is hardly an accurate adaption, and Bulma being made a woman was probably just inspired by Sanzang being played by actresses, like you said. I could be wrong but at least from the ones that I've seen, the adaptations that do change Sanzang the character to be a women are usually ones that don't take themselves as seriously when it comes to "accurately" adapting the original story (not that there's anything wrong with that).

"I can’t say for certain why they made Sanzang a girl in the 1970s" Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a definitive reason either, but I did read once that the actor who played Wukong for the show gave an interview and said that the reason they hired an actress was "to generate buzz about the show" (but I can't confirm a source for that quote). I've also seen multiple theories that another possible reason is due to the fact that Sanzang is supposed to be a beautiful man, so why not have a woman play him to amp up the attractiveness factor?

Also, in the English dub Tripitaka is often referred to as "the boy priest" which to me seems a weird specification to point out, unless they're implying that he's very young or not even an adult yet in this show. Wukong calls him "the lad" a lot too, which maybe lends a little credence to this Sanzang being young. I don't know if that's also true in the original Japanese, but if it is, then that might also explain why they chose an actress to play him, to make him look properly youthful.

(Or maybe the English dub kept emphasizing Sanzang being a boy/a lad simply to help audiences know that despite being played by a lovely actress, the character is still a man lol)

OR who knows, maybe the casting director for the show felt like being progressive for the 70s, because Sanzang isn't the only cross-cast character; Buddha is played by a female actress and Guanyin is played by a male actor.

Sorry for such a long ask, I tried to keep things concise while still hitting the main points. I really really enjoy this show and I'm sad there isn't a whole lot of information available for it!

I'm not saying that most Japanese media have Sanzang as a girl, just a lot of them, and yes most faithful adaptions of course have Sanzang as a boy but that doesn't discount how many girl Sanzang media has come out of this and could have been influenced by Monkey (1978). This is more just observing the combination of Japanese media that has femme Sanzang more than other countries' media.

The Saiyuki franchises do keep it that Sanzang is a male played by a woman there is other Saiyuki media that has him as a female on purpose. Saiyuki TV series (1993), Saiyuki (1994), and the Sayuki movie (2007) are clearly 1978-inspired but as such just have Sanzang is supposed to be a man. Maybe even Doraemon: The Record of Nobita’s Parallel Visit to the West (1988) since while the character is a girl she is still playing Sanzang as a man.

I didn't even consider Dragon Ball as an example of Sanzang being portrayed as a woman. I was thinking Saiyuki Starzinger (1978), SF Saiyuki Starzinger Movie Edition SF (1979), and Saiyuiki Journey West (1999) where you play as Sanzo and choose your gender as either a girl or a boy. There is also the Japanese anime Nanbaka (2016) where Sanzang is played by two different characters also a man and a woman. There is also just anime-games like Monster Super League (2016), Dragalia Lost (2018), Granblue Fantasy (2014), and Monster Strike (2014) モンスターストライク.

There are other non-Japanese productions that also follow the idea of having Sanzang as a woman and while these can be separated from Monkey (1978) I think they should also be considered to be have some influence. The Australian tv show Legends of the Monkey King (2018) is stated to be inspired by Monkey (1978) more so than Xiyouji itself. Korean Odessey (2017) and God of High School (2020) are Korean productions but I'm not sure if this is inspired by Monkey (1978) as it is a different modern take of the story and thus could be different. There has only been one Chinese media that I have seen with a female Sanzang Ultimate Westward Journey (2019).

I could be wrong but at least from the ones that I've seen, the adaptations that do change Sanzang the character to be a women are usually ones that don't take themselves as seriously when it comes to "accurately" adapting the original story (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I guess they don't have to be taken seriously but they should still be noted all the same because this is still Japanese media that is portraying Xiyouji characters. It doesn't have to be taken seriously to still note when and to whom gender bent happen (should also be noted that Bailong and Wujing are also common characters to have their genders differ). Just cause they are games or cartoons doesn't make them any less media that should be considered how easily it is to change Sanzang's gender even for casual and common everyday games and shows.

It's not so much about accuracy as that isn't needed but how to widespread the idea of changing Sanzang's gender. It's not a bad thing but something that should be recognized. Personally, in terms of Dragon Ball, I always like the idea of Krillin being as Sanzang as well since I think that being an ex-monk would be clever. But since there is a lot of Japanese media that has Sanzang has multiple characters that could be Sanzang it could just be up to interpretation as Bulma was the original idea for Sanzang representation.

(Or maybe the English dub kept emphasizing Sanzang being a boy/a lad simply to help audiences know that despite being played by a lovely actress, the character is still a man lol)

I think they could have been implying that he was younger in the show since there was some media in the early 1960-70s where young boys were played by women. I have only seen this in like musical movies though, so that the 'young boy' would have a higher-pitched voice.

OR who knows, maybe the casting director for the show felt like being progressive for the 70s, because Sanzang isn't the only cross-cast character; Buddha is played by a female actress and Guanyin is played by a male actor.

I do think that showing Buddha and Guanyin as genders differing from how they are usually portrayed was very innovative! Perhaps even touching on Guanyin's original legend where she was an Indian Prince, gives her an ambiguous gender role. It could be that the director seeing that both form and beauty are not limited to gender could be played by anyone as long as the acting is top quality.

Sorry for such a long ask, I tried to keep things concise while still hitting the main points. I really really enjoy this show and I'm sad there isn't a whole lot of information available for it!

I do wish that I could find more information and I'm surprised that there is very little despite how globally popular it was. I know that the sub was many people's intro to Xiyouji and further created a stronger legacy. But it could be that the show's run was to be short

Mentioning some events that I liked in the midst of beefing with LWs' writers. It's mostly due to very specific things that occur in the events rather than the events themselves to be completely honest with you.

-Casual and fun beach event. Can't go wrong there. Good moments envolving most of the characters. Nomad, Azazel, Kengo, and Oniwaka in particular for me. They deprived me of Azazel content, so this is my only morsel to latch onto. Plus we got SQ Galore, including ones for Mononobe and Lil Salomon.

-The softcore discussion of gender dysphoria was a pleasant surprise and I liked the parallels drawn between MC and Astarte as "trophies". In particular, I liked how this event revealed how much the other guys actually love MC. They were completely indifferent towards Astarte while she was the beloved, which was super weird to her, and when MC switched places with her, they immediately clocked that something was off, but not because they could visually tell MC was obviously not Astarte. They just thought Astarte was more radiant than usual. They were all over MC and giving away their shells because they're MC, not because they were the beloved.

-That scene where Heracles falls into Narcissus' Pond and he comes to the realization that his narcissism and cowardness was what led to Hylas' fate. He thought that a hero of his caliber was too precious to even risk being lost to the naiads, especially not for a guy who was practically beneath him. Heracles put himself before the life of his friend who was willing follow him to hell and back, abandoning him, and he regrets it. The parallels to Hylas' abduction with Heracles' fall as well as dialouge and narration as MC dives after him are an absolute banger. "I knew. I knew you'd come. Not by another's comand but your own free will. Your radiance makes me want to weep. Before you, the thought of the man who failed to follow Hylas makes me want to cry." MC took the leap Heracles never did for Hylas, making them a better person than himself. Such a great moment. Absolutely adored it.

-First of all, exile reveal. Second of all, the reveal that Shiro's crush is more of an all-consuming OBSESSION. Always thinking of them. Always following them whatever path they decide to take. Knowing that they relied on him was his greatest source of happiness. He wanted to help them, to shoulder any and all of their burdens in the hopes that they would eventually feel the same way as him. Shiro was desperately striving for an insane, unhealthy co-dependent relationship where MC validates him by constantly needing him to help them and it's just ?!?!? This came way out of left field.

-Algernon. Algernon. Algernon. I absolutely loved it when he randomly got jealous and tried to change the topic when MC called Yamasachihiko hot. I love that he found someone who could keep up with him, an equal, in MC. I loved that they did a little tapdance routine together while killing the slimes. Oh. And Hombre Tigre. I'm not really a big fan of him. I just really like how interesting his dynamic with Quetzalcoatl is compared to everyone else. Hombre adoring Tezcatlipoca so much that he couldn't even begin to grasp why Quetzalcoatl would leave him behind and envying him for being the one who could consume Tezcatlipoca's thoughts and breaking him in such a manner.

-Sherlock Nomad and Assistant MC, the event we had all been waiting on. Anyways, y'all should know why I liked this event. It's that one scene where they beat Hermes' and he's just sitting on the floor like a pouty little kid when MC grabs his hand and he continues his little tantrum by telling them to let go while doing nothing to stop them. Hermes finally found a friend who could look past all of his lies and accept him with MC and I'm very happy for the bastard.

-That whole chase scene where Balor reveals that he's actually been a twat this entire time and he goes after MC, trying to capture them, is mwah. Love it. Also when Boogeyman triggered that ratfuck, Balor's, PTSD with his sacred artifact just the reveal that Lugh never had a choice in the matter and that Balor caused this fate to be forced upon him, something that he feared for himself in the first place. And the reveal that Balor didn't exactly regret killing his grandson. It was just the fact that Lugh didn't choose to fight him himself.

-The way Vapula was completely indifferent to his golemns until the very end where they're all silently gazing out into the sea after Sand Dragon self-deleted while following orders and are clearly fucked up about what they just witnessed, truly understanding how morbid Sand Dragon's existence was and the inevitability of his death, when MC turns to Vapula and says "Vapula.... We never got to name him" and Vapula just starts BAWLING.

-Oh look. A well executed plot twist. Loved the way that they conveyed Horus and Seth's true bond through how compatible and fluidly their memories were able to work together to fight against the group. Then there's the use of Seth's old memories to reveal that Horus had been on his side the entire time and that he was even the one who let him flee Duat. Also, an expansion on what seemed to be such a simple rule. Being able to control the sand being way more powerful than expected through a technicality.

-This one might actually be my favorite event. No. Not because it's a Fuxi or bird event. Shut your slut mouth. Banger music, great story, great picks for the characters and the dynamics, an exile reveal. Fuxi being so unhinged that he tries to fight literal children and Simurgh playing the straight man to his funny man will always be funny. Also, there was just that one moment where MC went "pull the trigger pussy" while Simurgh held a gun to their head and that's so based of them. Mostly dissapointed we didn't get more Nüwa lore.
