DAICHI !

they love him sm! They hope you stay together for the rest of your lives because he’s the best man you could’ve chose. He’s the spitting image of what kind of guy they wanted you to end up with. He’s super polite when they first meet him, they almost die when they see him pull out your chair at the dinner table and when he takes off your coat for you at the door O.M.G! If you guys go out for dinner together he holds the door for all three of you guys.

SUGAWARA !

they adore him <3 he is a true gentleman and respects everyone he comes into contact with. Your mom and dad’s jaws drop when he shows up to the house with flowers and a plate of cookies. He’s so funny! they had the best game night and enjoyed meeting him for the first time. Your parents are always asking when he’s gonna come over again. Always greets your dad with a hug and handshake, greets your mom with a gentle hug and kiss on the cheek.

ASAHI !

they are…questioning your guy’s relationship. He’s very shy and he comes late (he was standing at the door for 10 minutes freaking out and wouldn’t ring the doorbell) it took a while for them to approve of your relationship. he’s so shy and they couldn’t see the true him but he came out of his shell and they are okay with you guys being together.

KUROO !

they like him. He’s charming and very charismatic. They love how intelligent he is and trust that when you two are older he’ll take care of you well. During the first meeting they could tell he was intelligent when him and your dad would not stop talking about science, he really made an impression.

OIKAWA !

they either hate or love him but I couldn’t tell you which it is. On one hand he’s charming and affectionate but on the other hand he’s very confident and super honest. While meeting your parents for the first time he commented on how cozy the house looked and how beautiful your mom was but after sitting down and eating he commented on the quality of the food and you were hiding your face in your hands like ‘please shut up!’

TSUKISHIMA !

they think he’s super funny and…well..tall. Your dad’s first comment to him was a joke about his height which had everyone but tsukki laughing. They are fascinated with him and are invested in his thoughts because he sounds so intelligent with every word that comes out his mouth. The way he thinks has your mom and dad’s jaws to the ground he’s just so interesting!! You’ll definitely hear a “wow sweetheart, you got a smarty pants on your hands.” From your mom

KAGEYAMA !

they aren’t too fond of kageyama but you’re sure they’ll warm up to him. He’s very awkward and barley speaks. The dinner is just sounds of silverware clinking against the plates and “can you pass the ___” as well as awkward “soo..kageyama y/n tells us ___” the conversations are very forced and awkward..sorry.

NISHINOYA !

Loved by your mom but your dad thinks you can do sooo much better. Your mom is laughing at all his jokes while your dad is giving him a death stare. Not to mention after the first joke he made at the doorway your dad just towered over him with a stare that scared nishinoya into stuttering. Your dad says stuff like “keep the door open” or “don’t be afraid to break up with that loser” because he doesn’t trust him and flat out doesn’t like him, but your mom loves him at least there’s that.

hinata: 2/10

he’s too baby to make me actually wanna fight him

i’ll give him a little hair ruffle instead

even if it started jokingly he probably wouldn’t do anything to actually hurt

kageyama: 4/10

he’d take it too seriously and i feel like he could do serious damage

he’s too calculated for it to be fun :(((

also considering his serves, i think he’d deck me and it’d be over

yamaguchi: -2/10

also too sweet for me to want to really want to throw hands

even if i initiated a fight i feel like he’s tall enough to just hold my arms to stop my swinging and like,, turn me away

i may be almost a foot and a half shorter than him but i think i could win

have you seen his energy.. IT’S LACKING

tetsu cannot stop looking at you and u almost have to plead with him to watch where’s he walking like tetsu pls we don’t wanna have to come back to get your front teeth done sweetie 🅱️lease!!!!!! other than that he is pretty easy to reason with it as long as you promise to kiss every part of his face once in a particular order and if u mess up, unfortunately, you’ll just have to start over again sigh it makes his heart go 💥💥💥

Okay, I thought really hard about this and these are my conclusions!

Karasuno:

Daichi: 2. Man is a police officer. I ain't ever seen a police officer with less than 2 kids.

Suga: 2-3. They would all be menaces. Every single one. And then you'd be laying in bed at night and he'd ask you why your guys' kids are bad as if he wasn't their dad.

Asahi: 1. Kids scare him because he doesn't know what to do with his hands.

Tanaka: 3 or 4 probably. Dude totally has a breeding kink.

Noya: 1 and they would be his best friend. And they would both be loud af. You wouldn't be able to take them anywhere.

Narita: 1, I think. I feel like he would have anxiety about the child. If he could wrap the kid in bubble wrap, he would. Idk why he gives me that vibe, lol

Kinnoshita: I think 2.

Ennoshita: 2 or 3. He is very calm and level headed. Your kids would be very well behaved.

Kageyama: You might be able to convince him to have 1. But man's is not good with kids lmao.

Hinata: 6 probably. No further questions, lmao.

Tsukki: 1 and done. You might be able to convince him to go for 2, but count your blessings that you were able to even get one.

Oikawa: 1. And he's childish. So you would definitely find him constantly arguing with your toddler over dumb shit. And the arguments would consist of your child spouting gibberish while Oikawa is explaining to them why they can't climb onto the kitchen counter and launch themselves off of it.

Iwa: 1. And he would be a girl dad. No further questions.

Mattsun: 2. And they'd be funny as hell.

Kyotani: 0. I think Kyotani is a highly misunderstood character. But I feel like he had a traumatizing childhood and therefore wouldn't want kids because he doesn't want to traumatize them.

Kunimi: 0. I dont think this man has the patience, lmao. If you convince him to have 1, you'd find him arguing with a 3-year-old over the correct way to play toy cars.

Kindaichi: 1. Also doesn't know what to do with his hands, lol.

Hanamaki: 1 probably. And he gives off the vibes of the type of dad that insists on carrying the baby in one of those body carriers that you strap onto yourself.

Fukurodani:

Bokuto: 3 or 4. This man also has a breeding kink. And I think he loves kids. I feel like all of his kids would just be insane too. Because of him. Man has no chill. So neither do his kids. Good luck to you. You're never sleeping again.

Akaashi: 1 or 2. And he is incredibly patient and calm 🥺 he dealt with Bokuto for so long that caring for his own children feels therapeutic.

Shiratorizawa:

Ushiwaka: 2. He likes children, children do not like him...

Tendo: 1 I think. And I see Tendo as extremely spontaneous so expect to come home from work to an empty house because he took your child out of school for the third time that month to go to the petting zoo.

Goshiki: 1 and they'd get fired up about anything and everything.

Dateko:

Aone: 1 and they wouldn't communicate with words so good luck understanding anything that goes on in your house from here on out.

Futakuchi: 2. And like Oikawa, I just see him constantly arguing with his kids over dumb shit, lmao. And his kids 100% love pushing his buttons.

Koganegawa: 5 or 6. Man's love kids. Is a kid himself. You'd definitely find him laying on his stomach on the floor playing with them, kicking his feet.

Inarizaki:

Atsumu: 0 or 8. No in between. I say this because I feel like the thought of having a child of his own is scary to him. But then I think once you have one, he'd totally develop a breeding kink and just keep getting you pregnant. And all of his children would be menaces.

Osamu: At least 3. And they'd all be smart asses. So good luck with that.

Kita: probably just 1. You can try to convince him to have another, but he'd just glare at you while angrily cleaning up the dinner mess your toddler threw all over the floor that night. Any time you ask, he'd bring you to a mess your kid made and just silently point at it before cleaning it up.

Aran: I think 2. And I think they would have all of his attention all of the time. Would 100% ignore you talking to him because your kid's are trying to tell him something.

Suna: 1. And that's because he brought a camera into labor and delivery and filmed your entire birth. You refuse to go through that again.

Hoshiumi: probably 0 or 1. I dont think he would want kids, but if you were to become pregnant he would be happy all the same.

Sakusa: 0. Absolutely no kids for this man. They are a petri dish of germs. He is disgusted by all things involving children. Can't even look in a child's direction without feeling sick. Close Enemies by MyTrashyWriting (T) 2.8k // this fic leans more towards the side of fast burn (idk if that’s the right term LOL) but the build-up is still pretty good. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting the plot (though I probably should’ve seen it coming but for some reason I didn’t hehe) so I enjoyed the resolution LOL. Haikyuu boys reacting to you being the new manager: Karasuno ( first year chubby fem!reader)

On Friday, the team was told that there was going to be a new manager on Monday. They were VERY curious to see what you looked like

Monday rolls around and Kiyoko leads you to the gym doors after school.

She slides them opening, and because those doors are super loud for no reason everyone is looking at you two.

You were standing off to the side until Kiyoko introduced you to them

First years

When the first years saw you they were like “omg is that a mfing goddess I see?”

Hinata came to introduce himself to you, but stuttered so much. He was just so in love with your soft figure.

Kageyama tried to stay away from you because everytime he even thinks about you, he blushes. He just wonders how soft and comfortable your thighs would be to lay on and it instantly makes his face red with blush.

Yamaguchi took the courage to introduce himself to you. He said you looked really pretty and you gave him a hug. At that point he was like “•_• cutie” in his mind. He loved how kind you were to everyone on the team and how you wouldn’t get mad at them (he also loves your pudginess but he to shy to say anything 👀)

Tsukki makes it seem like you’re just an average, everyday person. But when you came to give him his water bottle that you refilled for him and he got a closer look at you he though “fucking hell she’s adorable!” He loved how the manager jacket looked on you, showing off all your curves. (that horny fucker can’t stop looking at your boobies).

Second Years

The second years were ALL OVER YOU

Noya and Tanaka were all up in your business asking millions of questions and complimenting you

Third Years

When the third years saw you, they found you breath-taking. Also, that fact that you were so nice to everyone made you 10x cuter.

Suga is trying to make small talk with you. He told you something funny and you laughed; your laugh is so cute to him ( your laugh is cute, OK?). He loves your personality; how funny you are and how interesting you are. Not only does he love that, he loves how your chubby cheeks looked when you smiled. From that day on, you guys hung out more.

Daichi tried to impress you during practice. When he got some time to see you, he complimented you on your hair (even though he really wanted to say that he loves how squishy you look). Now, every time your with Daichi he WILL protect you. It doesn’t matter what, he will. He also offers to walk you homw from school every single day.

Asahi was trying to convince himself to introduce himself to you, but was way too nervous. You just looked so adorable and sweet that he just malfunctioned on the spot. It wasn’t until you couldn’t reach something you actually talked to him. You asked him to help you with setting up the net and said sure. From there he got more comfortable talking to you (gave him a hug when he was done and he loved how warm and soft you felt).

Overall, the Karasuno boys love you a lot and aren’t a bother.

then noya and tanaka ran over and fkn BURST OUT LAUGHING

at this point, all of kageyama’s team was surrounding him while the other team waited patiently for them to serve

but after a while, it was clear that they weren’t gonna do that so suga - who was on the opposing team - strolled over to see what they were all laughing about

and when he saw it- bitch- he went red

a cool mom so he probably made a suggestive remark as he walks away

it eventually got to the point where everyone in the gym was crowded around kageyama and for ease, i’ll categorize their reactions:

kageyama could literally break his neck and walk into practise with a neck brace and no one would bat an eye but now that he has scratches on his back, suddenly everyone is so concerned about his wellbeing? where with this energy that time he said that hinata gave him a concussion?

to be fair, he didn’t have a concussion- also, he forgot the word so he told suga that hinata gave him a ‘conclusion’

daichi agreed, trying to usher everyone back to their spot on the court, ‘yeah, it’s no big deal, guys. let’s get back to practise.’

everyone slowly made their way back to where they were previously but since tanaka and noya were still on kageyama’s team, they continued to pry

tanaka flung his arm around kageyama’s shoulders, ‘so how’d you get those scratches, big boy?’

an ungodly laugh left noya’s mouth

kageyama shrugged, ‘(y/n), i think.’

the whole gym room went silent before erupting in choruses of laughter once again

‘WELL YOU AND YOUR GIRLFRIEND NEED TO CALM DOWN THEN!’ tanaka wheezed

kageyama was truly the idiot that didn’t understand the implications of the back scratches - so you can imagine that he was frustrated when everyone started laughing again

‘what’s so funny?’ but then, he recalled the events which he was pretty certain were the reason for the marks on his back......it was pretty funny

you insisted on giving kageyama a back massage after a long day of practise so he took his shirt off and let you go for it

for the record, he really loved it :)) he was just so happy sitting there between your thighs as you sat on the couch and rubbed his back, loosening all the knots he didn’t even know he had

but then he got a lil’ inch on his back and was like ‘can you get that for me?’ since your hands were already on his shoulders/back

ofc you said yes and started lightly scratching the spot he desired, but being extra careful bc you just got you nails done in the stiletto shape and the last thing you wanted to do was puncture his back lol

‘harder..’ kageyama muttered so low that you almost didn’t hear him

you obliged, pressing a bit harder

‘harder.’ he insisted once more

again, you served by digging your nails in a bit deeper

‘harder.’

‘no, kags. i’ll literally pierce your skin if i press any harde--’

‘harder!’ he barked (for a joke) and you jumped from fright, instinctively pushing in more and increasing the pace of your hand

at this point, you were rigorously clawing at his back, on the verge of drawing blood which you could tell by his skin’s newfound crimson pigment

kageyama took it upon himself to lean backwards onto your nails to force you to go rougher as you had yet to ease his itch

then you let out a high-pitched scream so naturally, kageyama jerked away then peered over his shoulder to make sure you hadn’t like..died

‘what?!’ he asked, eyes filled with worry

‘blood!’ you yelled, pointing at his back before sprinting to the kitchen to get a tissue

kageyama’s gaze followed you until you were out of sight, then he lightly touched his back around the parts you were scratching and once he pulled his hand away, he noticed the blood which was now on his fingers

‘oh.’

the concerning part was that he didn’t even feel it tbh 🤔

anyway tanaka and noya probably coo ‘oooh~ lovebirds~’ when you come pick him up from practise

Keiji Akaashi

bokuto heard some ppl whispering about akaashi & (y/n) in the changing room so he turned around to take a look at his friend then he noticed the scratch marks on his poor friends’ back

‘AKAASHI!! DID YOU GET MAULED BY A BEAR?!?!’ he screamed, grabbing the attention of everyone in the changing room and those who weren’t whispering about akaashi before, were definitely doing so now

akaashi smiled softly and shook his head, hastily throwing on his shirt and buttoning it up as he spoke, ‘no, bokuto-san.’

bokuto quirked a brow, wondering what could’ve possibly happened before his jaw dropped to the ground

‘is it ‘cause i patted your back a bit hard earlier?!?!?’

akaashi didn’t even bother to question how bokuto could think that a slap on the spine could lead to scratch marks and instead just replied normally, ‘no.’

bokuto was stumped once again- why else would his buddy have marks on his back? and why was (y/n) such a prominent name floating around in this changing room? doesn’t everyone know that she is taken by bokuto’s best-bro akaashi?

....

WAIT

bokuto’s jaw hung open once again as his soul left his body through an overdramatic gasp, before leaning in and whispering in akaashi’s ear, ‘wait- don’t tell me- you and (y/n)-’

akaashi’s cheeks tinted red slightly so he turned his head away while he pulled on his blazer, ‘no.’

bokuto let out a light sigh of relief, gently patting his pal’s back, ‘ah, good. but then, where did those marks come from?’

before akaashi even got the opportunity to open his mouth to respond, komi and konoha passed the pair, konoha patting akaashi’s shoulder and komi shot him a toothy grin accompanied by a thumbs-up, ‘get some, akaashi.’

then they walked off, konoha mubbling something about his chances with (y/n) being ruined

this left both bokuto and akaashi extremely confused

once all traces of komi and konoha were gone, akaashi proceeded to explain himself

‘backne is a horrible thing.’ he murmured, grabbing his satchel, slinging it over his shoulder before strolling out the changing room. ‘i’ll wait for you outside.’

and bokuto just stood there like (。_。) ‘what’s backne?’

Shinsuke Kita

atsumu had invited the whole squad back to inarizaki for one last game before coach kurosu’s retirement

after ages of arrangement, the whole team were able to make an appearance at the game - whether that be for 10 minutes or the whole thing

kita was able to stay for the whole thing

he was currently warming-up while chatting with aran before he was approached by atsumu, who was as lively as ever

‘mister rice farmer! it’s good to see you again!’ he sung, tossing his arm around kita’s shoulder and patting it in a friendly manner, ‘how’s life been treating ya?’

kita and atsumu somehow managed to make small-talk as if they hadn’t been apart for the last 6 years

‘me and my girlfriend have only been together for 6 months but i think i’m ready to settle down.’ atsumu mused, tapping his elbow before realising that he had been talking about himself for a while, ‘but anyway, i see that you and (y/n) are still going strong. haven’t y’all been together since the first year of highschool? that’s impressive! when are you gonna wife her up?’

kita perked up upon hearing that, ‘uh, yes. but how do you know that?’

atsumu couldn’t help but smirk, casually running a hand through his hair before motioning to the hickey on kita’s neck which was on semi-display, ‘right there, bud.’

kita looked down but unfortunately, his neck didn’t bend enough to see what atsumu was referring to

‘also,’ atsumu chuckled, slightly embarrassed about what he was going to admit ‘i saw the pic of her you put on your facebook.’

‘ah, okay.’ that one kita could understand

atsumu was about to open this mouth to say something but then the shrieking noise of the coach kurosu’s whistle rang through the gym room, indicating the start of the match

the game went surprisingly smooth tbh

minimal fights :o

but kita did get teased quite a lot smh

anyway, after everything was all said and done and everyone started to filter out the gym, kita rushed to the bathroom to check himself in the mirror and see what atsumu was referring to on his neck

once he took a look at himself, he frowned

just as he thought, a hickey - that’s embarrassing

it was clear you made an effort to place hickeys in areas that would be hidden though as the bruise was barely peeking out from under the collar of his jersey, atsumu just has a rather keen eye

however, that wasn’t going to stop kita from pounding you dry when he gets home - as a punishment ofc

a/n: this was a request from @mi-ts i hope you enjoy this and this is what you're looking for :) i added in some headcanons of my own as well. pls tell me if i said anything offensive in there by accident, i was also super tired when i wrote this so pls excuse me for any mistakes :'D

karasuno:

i feel like the entire team is pretty supportive and definitely not transphobic

the only person that i could possibly think of that doesn't understand transitioning would be tanaka but even then he'll still support you in whatever decision you make

let's start off with the first years

hinata and kageyama definitely uses correct pronouns though i feel like kageyama might forget sometimes but he'll just use they instead

tsuki doesn't care much and i don't think he cares a lot about anything other than maybe yamaguchi

yamaguchi would be really sweet about it, correct pronouns 100%, no mistakes or mess ups. he'll probably pay more attention to you and help you with whatever you need

kinoshita and narita are both super supportive people so they wouldn't care that much but they would definitely use right pronouns and all that

ennoshita is kind of the leader of the group right? i feel like he would advocate your pronouns only if ur comfortable with it though

makes sure your absolutely 120% comfortable with your surroundings and if there are people bothering you he's not scared to get asahi and daichi to square up with them

"yo y/n! what took you so long? practice started 10min ago." tanaka shouted from across the gym.

"sorry…i got caught up with something." you replied with a sad tone in your voice.

the team immediately noticed something wrong. you were usually a pretty cheerful person and sulking like that didn't seem right to them.

"woah woah, you good man?" noya said while tapping you shoulder.

"yah i'm fine guys, thanks." you lied.

"even a dumbass like hinata and king over there would know you're not fine, what's wrong." said tsuki.

"hey we heard that! but seriously y/n-kun, is everything ok?" hinata said while walking over with kageyama.

"it's nothing much really… some second years called me uhh… "baby girl" today and asked me if i had anything to do after school. they wouldn't let me go either even after i told them i had somewhere else to be…. and the fact that i'm not a girl anymore."

"they fucking what now?" suga said with an incredibly hostile smile on his face.

"do you know their names?" daichi asked.

"yah its f/n l/n and f/n and l/n…"

"those two sons of bitches??" tanaka and noya screamed in unison.

"yah do you guys know them or something?"

"they're in the class beside ours, we don't know much about them except that they're annoying as fuck. they've been making girls uncomfortable all year long." noya replied.

"oh… they must've thought i was a girl since i didn't wear a… y'know."

"that's still no reason to do that to you y/n. first of all you weren't comfortable with them flirting with you, second of all you also told them that you're a guy and they still called you that." asahi said

"yah that's true." daichi said with the rest of the team nodding their heads in agreement.

"don't worry y/n, we all know it's not your fault the binders don't work. no matter what you wear or how you look, the team will always see you as who you want to be!" suga said with a bright smile on his face this time.

a smile appeared on your face with warm thoughts entering your mind. knowing you have friends that care about you this much is truly a blessing you don't want to lose.

"on a side note, suga and i know those 2 as well. in fact we know their homeroom teacher too, i'll go report to their teacher tomorrow. he loved suga and i, we were his best students."

a small giggle came out of you and so did some happy tears.

"thanks guys! it really means a lot." you said to all of your friends.

the rest of the practice was filled with joy and laughter. a few days later you received a handwritten apology from the two assholes you were talking about.

same as karasuno i'm almost 100% sure none of them are transphobic and they would all be supportive. same case of tanaka with yamamoto though if anything

inuoka and shibayama were on the side listening to yamamoto talk about something. you and shōhei rushed over to help yaku with the net.

"there, all done. thanks guys. kuroo let's start practice." yaku yelled

"yah everyone get ready-"

just as kuroo said that, two boys entered the gym. they didn't look like they were up to anything good so kuroo stepped up and asked them what they're here for.

"how can i help you two?"

"we're just here to find d/n, oh there she is. hey~ you haven't answered our question yet, you free this weekend sweetheart?" one of the boys said as he attempted to move closer to you.

kuroo lost his shit immediately and pushed them away from you.

"first of all his name is y/n, second of all it's he. lastly if you don't have anything else to say, please leave, our practice is about to start."

"chill captain~ we just wanted to talk to this beautiful lady over here."

"for the last fucking time you bastards it's-" yaku cut off kuroo before he could finish.

"leave it to me. you, tall one on the left, f/n l/n from c/n right?" yaku asked.

“y-yah why?”

“your chemistry mark, 53% and you didn’t pass the test you took on thursday.”

“w-what ??! i don’t even know my mark yet how do you-”

“and you, the stick on the right, f/n l/n. you’re even worse, 49% as your total and your test? i’d embarrassed for you.”

“what the fuck?? w-who are you?!”

“yaku morisuke, 3rd year. the assistant for your chemistry teacher. now if you don’t want your marks leaked to the entire school i suggest you leave y/n here alone and get out.”

“tch yeah whatever !” the 2 boys said as they scurried away.

“yaku-san!! that was so cool!!” everyone said.

I’m on the team - pt 3

Summery: the first day of training camp!!

Tw!!! scratching (self harm scratching), panic attack

It’s strange, over the week the team has been super busy, practicing and studying. I helped Tsuki with Hinata and Kageyama trying to make sure they pass there exams, Iv gotten pretty close with the two, there both really fun, and watching them both struggle with classes and Tsuki scolding them is super funny. Sadly the two didn’t pass their exams and are both super upset. I remember when we were getting our test scores back i rushed to their classroom with Yams hoping to see them both super excited only to see Hinata come out pouting, and Kageyama with this super dejected look like he was super disappointed in himself for his grades. They were assured tho that they would be able to get to the training camp just a bit late!

We’re headed to the training camp, me Tsuki and yams are all sitting together, me and Tsuki on one side and yams on the seat across the isle. I’m starting to get nervous, not knowing how other teams are going to react to me being there! They don’t even know who I am, or my situation!

“Tsuki!! What if their angry! Maybe I shouldn’t have come- or-or maybe I shouldn’t have even joined, we don’t know how people are going to react!”

“It’s going to be ok (Y/N) im sure their all nice.” Yams said with this super supportive smile

“Yeah and if anyone bothers you I’ll take care of them.” Tsuki says knocking shoulders with me giving me a small smile.

“Yeah (Y/N) don’t worry! You’ve got all of us, we won’t let anything happen!” Suga says turning around, seemingly having heard me freaking out.

I sigh starting to scratch my hands a nervous habit of mine. After a minute or two Tsuki notices grabbing my hand giving me a disapproving look. He reaches down into the backpack he brought on the bus looking for something, pulling out a stress ball and hands it to me.

The rest of the bus ride me Tsuki and Yams ended up falling asleep, I guess I tired myself out with all of my stressing.

We got to Tokyo faster then I thought, the bus ride felt way to quick! But I guess that happens when you sleep, it’s like time travel.

Getting off the bus we were greeted by some guy with crazy strange rooster hair, I quickly moved to hide behind Tsuki still scared about meeting the other guys. Daichi went over to talk to rooster head while the rest of us got our bags off the bus Tanaka and Noya pushing me and Tsuki and Yams to “walk faster” and “get more excited”.

I overhear The guy Daichi is talking to saying “ your missing a few aren’t you? Wait who’s the new kid” I move closer to Tsuki hoping his tallness will hide me, “why does the new kid look so scared of me.” all I can think about is what if they’re transphobic, what if they don’t want me here, what’s going to happen when they find out. “I’ll tell you about him in a bit.” Daichi responds giving me a concerned look. Tsuki makes a comment about annoying volleyball guys while nudging me to try and get my attention, he and Yams start bickering a little bit and Noya and Tanaka are practically bouncing off the walls and it keeps me distracted.

We were pointed towards the room we’d be staying in putting our bags down and changing. I started getting more nervous, Iv never met these people before and they don’t know my situation. What if I walk on the court and someone yells at me, what if people start asking questions, what if one of them gets super angry and starts yelling at me, what if the team decides they actually side with them! What if-

“(Y/N)” it’s Tsuki and Suga, the two are standing in front of me, Suga is holding my hands and Tsuki has a hand on my back.

“Come on let’s sit down yeah,” the two move me to go sit on a windowsill I look over their shoulders and see all the guys looking at me, I don’t know why I feel so small now, I know them all, I know their not judging me, but I still feel like the piercing stare I’m getting from them is too much. I see Asahi start moving and coming to stand next to Suga on the opposite side from Tsuki.

“Hey (Y/N) I need you to breath for me ok,” he gives me a really concerned look I hadn’t even realized I was hyperventilating, taking one of my hands from Suga and putting it on his chest taking big deep breaths so that I can feel it. “In and out, in and out.” The two words being repeated like a mantra.

Once I’m breathing slightly better Tsuki starts asking questions

“are you lightheaded?”

“Kinda”

“did you eat this morning”

“no”

“why?”

“Didn’t have time.”

“Can someone go grab a granola bar or something?” I see some movement and I think it was Noya who left to go grab something for me to eat. “Are you nervous about training camp?”

“Yes” I say quietly hoping that only he can hear

“Is it because you haven’t played a real game yet.”

I shake my head, I haven’t even thought about that fact that I’m going to be playing a real game for the first time, the only people Iv played against is the team.

“Is it because your afraid people are going to be mean about your gender?”

“I- yes,”

I see everyone look around, I guess they hadn’t thought this was really that big of a deal, but for me, this isn’t something that happens normally, while they all had the door to this space opened to them, I had to hike up a mountain to just get to the door, and I’m just scared that once I get into the space that they all see as a right, is a privilege that most people like me don’t have, it isn’t a space I’m normally supposed to be in, and once you realize my situation everyone knows it.

Suga pulls on my hands making me face him. “ it’s gunna be ok (Y/N), if anyone says anything we’ll deal with it. You’ve got the team! We’re going to make sure your ok.” Suga says with a reassuring smile.

Noya quickly gets back in the room with a granola bar and a water bottle sliding in front of me to hand them both to me. “Thanks Noya” it’s a couple more minutes that I sit there catching my breath before I give everyone a nod letting them know I’m ok, everyone starts to disperse to Finnish getting ready.

Tsuki went over to his bag giving me an extra shirt he had, just like when I first stopped wearing my binder while playing. It’s a reassuring gesture. I get changed and everyone starts leaving before Tsuki grabs my hand, holding me back for a second.

“Your gunna be ok. I promise. And if you get scared or anything just let me or Suga or Daichi know and we’ll get you off the court ok?”

“Thanks Tsuki.”

Tsuki speeds up a little bit to get to yams and Daichi slows down a bit to get back to me.

“Hey I wanted to let you know before we get in there, there might be a cupule people who know your situation, mainly Kuroo the captain of Nekoma, he’s the guy from when we first show up. And I think Kenma their setter might. Him and Kuroo are close and he’s friends with hinata, and we’ll you know hinata. Other then that I’m not sure, they might have told some others but still I can’t tell you what the rest know.”

“Thanks Daichi, um did Kuroo seem chill about it when you told him?”

“Yeah, yeah definitely, I mean he was for sure surprised but, he ended up just saying ‘oh! That’s cool’ so I don’t think you have anything to worry about there.”

“Thanks Daichi.”

“Of course kid.”

We finally all get into the gym moving to get warmed up before our first game!

Let’s just say we haven’t been winning much, Coach put me into Hinatas spot so Iv been playing a lot. Honestly Iv been so stressed about my gender that I didn’t have time to stress about the fact that Iv never been in a game before. Iv gotten a few good spikes in and have been blocking a bit, but I’m by no means super good! We’ve been doing lots of flying laps.

After one of our practice games with nekoma everyone was taking a break to drink some water when some guy with bleached long hair came over to me.

“Hey.” He said kind of quietly, he seemed pretty awkward like he doesn’t do this often.

“Hey?”

“Um I just wanna let you know- i mean I’m friends with hinata and he’s told me about your situation.”

“Ah I see”

“I just wanted to let you know I’m chill with it, all of us on Nekoma are, so you’ve got nothing to worry about with us.”

“Thanks. It’s uh really reassuring to hear that. I’m (Y/N)”

“Kenma.”

“It’s nice to meet you Kenma”

“So uh how long have you been playing, it’s just we did a practice game with you guys not to long again and you weren’t there.”

“Oh yeah umm I just started playing only a few weeks ago.”

“Wow really. Your pretty good for someone who’s never played before.”

“Ha thanks, but I really have my team to thank, they got me playing and have been pretty good teachers”

“I hope one of those teachers hasn’t been Hinata I’m pretty sure most of what he says to explain volleyball is sound-effects.”

“I know right! It’s like he doesn’t know words sometimes.”

“Yeah it’s really strange but you get used to it.”

“Haha I guess eventually I’ll learn to speak his strange language!”

“Yeah!” Kind of out of nowhere the guy from this morning Kuroo I think his name was wrapped an arm around Kenmas shoulders.

“Well well what do we have here! Is Kenma actually talking to someone!”

“Shut up Kuroo”

“Hi I’m Kuroo, (Y/N) right?”

“Yeah, yeah that’s me.”

“Well it’s nice to meet the newest player.” He sends me a wink, “come on Kenma our games about to start, it was nice to meet you (Y/N)!” The two walk off headed back to the court.

It’s a little bit later in the day that Hinata and Kageyama show up! Hinata taking my spot in the game, and honestly I’m grateful, this day has been exhausting.

At first it started with Kiyoko giving you a tour of the gym

She invited you to watch the boys play a bit and you agree of course. She introduced you to Yachi as well

Nishinoya was the first one to point you to Tanaka

When Tanaka saw you, WHEW, his heart almost stopped

How did a gorgeous girl with such gorgeous features end up in Karasuno? Of all the schools you could’ve joined, Karasuno.

And what were you doing here? How did he end up blessed to see someone like you just sitting there, just there, chatting with the other two managers?

The way your long faux locs wrapped perfect into a mini bun while the rest laid flat on your back, your soft skin glistening well under the gym, and how your pearly whites and brown cheeks popped out when Kiyoko mentioned something funny to you and Yachi.

Stop, leave, he can’t take it anymore. His brain wasn’t used to this much beauty since he first saw Kiyoko.

Your beauty alone was making the boy short-circuit

Thankfully enough Nishinoya brought him back to reality

You took a small notice of him and softly smiled and waved at him

Damn it y/n you broke Tanaka 🤦🏾‍♀️ the only thing that helped him out was Daichi announcing their usual five-on-five practice match

Which he took the opportunity to show his skills off

Hopefully it goes well...for him

“Oi Tanaka!” Nishinoya jogged over to his skinhead friend, who was currently getting a drink of water. Nishinoya pulled him over to a secluded area, not too far away from the team. “You see that girl over there? Our lovely Kiyoko has struck again and brought us more beauty.” The short black/blonde was so heartstrung over you, you would’ve seen hearts show up on his pupils.

Tanaka took a deep breath and puffed out his chest, “You’re right Noya, let’s do this.”

The two jogged back over to the court and joined the rest of their team. Their vice captain clapped loudly to get everyone’s attention. Everyone turned their heads to see what the two captains needed.

Their captain called out, “Alright everyone form out, we’re starting out our usual five-on five game. Sugawara will be captain of one team and I will do the other. For my team, I’ll have Kageyama, Tsukishima, Ennoshita, and Nishinoya. Sugawara will have Hinata, Tanaka, Yamaguchi, and Asahi.”

“Yes, I’m with Tanaka!” Hinata shouted and clapped his hands with Tanaka. Nishinoya nudged him and gave him a wink, “You got this bro.” The two boys split ways and joined in with their team.

At first it was going well for Tanaka, you were intrigued by his mass amount of energy and how sharp he hits the ball. You also found how cool that he would ALWAYS motivate his teammate, no matter how tired or worn out they look right now.

Actually, it seems like him, Hinata, and Nishinoya were the ones with the most energy out of it. Even Kageyama looked out of it, from trying to cooperate with Tsukishima, and his rude remarks, to trying to make the perfect sets for his teammates. The three mentioned look like they were on fire, especially on the last set.

It was Tanaka’s turn to serve, he took a deep breath and took a glance at you. You sat with your ankles crossed and phone flat on your lap, he winked at you and threw the ball up. This serve he made extra special by putting all force into the serve.

The ball was spiked straight across the net, passing the blockers, and giving his team the final point to win.

Kiyoko nudged you and smiled, “I think you’re the reason why Tanaka won and acted like that.”

You were genuinely confused and tucked some of your locs behind your ear, “What you mean? Wait, is the Tanaka the skinhead that winked at me?”

Kiyoko shook her head and pointed over to Tanaka, who was currently celebrating with his teammates and getting yelled at by his captain that he’s loud.

Yachi pitched, “Kiyoko isn’t wrong, Tanaka isn’t usually this loud.”

“See y/n, you’re the reason why.”

You waved them off, “Yeah yeah. Not gonna lie, he got some skills and he’s kind of cute.”

Kiyoko nudged you again and smiled, “First day here and y/n is already taking a liking to someone. Come on, I’ll introduce you to the team.”

You nodded your head and headed over to the team, who were currently chatting amongst themselves and discussing game strategies and improvements.

Suga was the first to notice you three coming, “Oh Shimizu, who’s your new friend?”

“This is l/n y/n. She’s new at Karasuno and I decided to give her a tour.”

Hinata leaned over a bit to show his interest in you, “Ouuu she’s pretty Kiyoko.”

She introduced and pointed out the rest of the team to you. You waved and at the team and they did the same.

You took a small glance at Tanaka from the corner of your eye and boy was his face red, redder than a grilled tomato.

“Woah Tanaka are you good?” Hinata asked.

Yamaguchi and Tsukishima snickered and pointed out, “I think he has a crush on the new girl.”

“No I don’t!”

“Yes you do.” Both Daichi and Suga said.

Kageyama added, “If you can countlessly admit your love to Kiyoko, I think you can admit your feelings to y/n.”

Tsukishima muttered, “At least this one would be realistic.”

“I’m flattered actually, he’s a fine lil thing and I like how he plays.”

Sugawara fake gasped, “Someone as bold as Tanaka? To think we’ve never seen the day.”

Hinata violently shook Tanaka, “Dude dude dude, you should like totally shoot your shot.”

Nishinoya agreed, “Yeah dude, she’s standing right there, what’s the worst that could happen?”

The team kept encouraging Tanaka until he mustered the courage to walk up to you.

He stood in front of you, nervously chuckling and rubbing his hand behind his neck while you had a smile plastered on his face, “Uh huh- hi- I’m- I’m.”

Nishinoya called, “Stop being a pussy!”

Daichi called out, “Nishinoya! Ten extra laps around the court.”

“Twenty and I get to show y/n rolling thunder.”

Tsukishima rolled his eyes, “Please anything but that annoyingly stupid receive.”

Nishinoya side-eyed him, “Tsukishima you wanna join me?”

You giggled at the encounter and gave your attention back to Tanaka. Still beet red and nervous, trying to spew out words, you meshed your hand into his free hand. “Take me to the finest ramen place this Saturday.” You winked at him as well.

Everyone’s eyes widened and were in awe at your actions.

Kiyoko crossed her arms and let out a ‘hmph’, “Did she just- wow, y/n. I didn’t know you had it in you.”

“I used to be somewhat of a player back in America.”

Hinata excitedly asked, “Ouu wait y/n, can you please tell us about America? How is it? What do you guys eat there? Is it fun? Do they have volleyball over there? Are they like really good at volleyball too? What about-”

Kageyama cut his questions by covering his mouth, “Do us all a favor and please shut up.”

You let out a small laugh, “I don’t mind getting questions, I mean I am pretty new here.”

“Good then…” Nishinoya did the same as Hinata and started rambling off question after question.

You spent the rest of the afternoon chatting with team and telling a lot about yourself. All while your hands were still connected with Tanaka’s. You looked over to him and winked while he talked into the conversation as well.

You’d say it was a pretty nice first day at a new country, and at a new school.

things the team does for a fem teammate

this was prompted by a convo with @justamajorsimp and i’ve been unable to think of anything else at the moment!

note: not me finishing this in the middle of class😳😳😳couldn’t be me

The boys were at first a little confused as to why you were practicing with them, as there was a girls team, but after seeing how you played they realized you would benefit more to practice with them anyway.

Yachi and Kiyoko make sure you’re comfortable and start talking to you because talking to an entire team of volleyball boys is SCARY. Whenever they see that you’re a little uncomfortable (probably because Kageyama, Tanaka, and Nishinoya are staring at you)

They always let you change before them in the locker room, even giving you your own locker separate from their own.

Tanaka stands at the door like a little guard dog, and will and HAS barked at guys passing by the door (they all think he has rabies)

Before practice games, Ukai reminds you to take off any jewelry, and holds your earrings in his pocket until after the game. He even helps you put them back on so gently bc he doesn’t want to hurt your ears🥺

Asahi keeps extra hairbands on his wrist just in case yours break during practice

the boys REFUSE to let you walk home by yourself. they always say it’s because they want to grab snacks near your house after practice, but they’re lying right to u dog😔👊

speaking of, the third years are so protective of you its not even funny. Like, every time Daichi and Asahi see a guy talking to you in the hallways, it literally doesn’t matter who they are, they both walk past and “accidentally” push him from you and start talking to you instead HSKDS real subtle guys

suga too, he’s not any better. but! since he’s sneaky he’ll just put his arm around your shoulder and ask who the guy is! like nothing is wrong and he’s not staring him down!

Hinata always asks you to stay to help him after practice and is just chatting you up because he thinks you’re so cool! and strong! and powerful! stan hinata

He also forces Kageyama to talk to you because he knows his friend is nervous and confused on how to talk to a g-g-girl. (me too kags)

Yamaguchi is the same way and forces Tsukishima to be nice to you because he knows how weird it feels to be the new kid

Tsukishima.... tsukishima tries. not really though! he might tease you for being shorter and all the other stuff blah blah blah but! he doesn’t make any sexist or misogynistic jokes and tells other people off when they do because he probably wants you to think he’s cool... i hate him

- and the night before the flight, he goes out to get dinner and leaves the ticket in an envelope on the nightstand, with a note that says, “ happy birthday baby! ”

- as you tear open the envelope, there lies the flight ticket and a note that says to check the closet

- you open the closet door to one of your suitcases packed to the brim, and as you open it, there lies all your favorite clothes and stuff you normally use on a daily basis

- suga just does NOT miss and we love to see it

- when he gets back, you just pull him into a big hug and he’s confused for a moment due to the escapades involved with trying to get the food and then realizes

- he hugs you back and says softly to you

- god lmFAO , out of the blue he just texts kuroo and asks how to wrap a polaroid

- most likely orders your birthday gift months in advance but just never wraps it 👁👄👁

- will he fight someone over having the last one of your favorite color in their cart somehow? probably. is it worth it? no. is it funny? hilarious.

- kuroo has to steal his laptop just so he’ll stop arguing with this random lady who was just trying to buy it for their granddaughter

- in the end though , he ended up finding a tutorial on YouTube on how to wrap the little box for the Polaroid and it actually came out really cute

- there’s a little bow on it and all 🥺

- when he gives it to you and you tear of the wrapping paper , he feels the excitement in the pit of his stomach

- he got to make his - insert name’s - birthday remarkable and the way your smile lights up the room when you realize what your present is, makes him just as happy

- “ i love it kenma! thank you! ” you exclaim, before kissing him on the cheek

- “ i’m happy you like it, kitten. ” he says, flashing you a soft smile

- and the first photo you take using the polaroid is one of kenma eating a slice of your vanilla birthday cake

- first off, you’d be getting roses ,, akaashi would do classic things for you and roses are the perfect present to start your birthday off

- he planned a surprise birthday date !! going to a carnival later that night and taking you to all the fun little rides

- you’d been talking about going out and doing something fun for the past few weeks too so it was perfectly

- bokuto did @ you on twitter trying to fight you because ‘fridays are for the boys’, yes even though it IS your birthday NDSJFSD 😔✊

- he won you a big duck plushie 🥺 and y’all were stumped about what to name him while you ate dinner

- “ what about cheese? he is orange-ish. ” he tried not to laugh through a sip of water

- “ i’m not naming the duck cheese.” you laughed, staring at the big duck in a chair next to the both of you

- “ what if cheddar is his first name and then his last name is cheese?” you said before burying your face in the menu just to suppress laughter

- nevertheless though, y’all both bust UP before eating

- and as you both finish your meals and you think akaashi’s gonna get up to pay, waiters surround your table and they began singing happy birthday before putting a little chocolate lava cookie on the table
