#Diary#So here’s something I remember DEVASTING me for some#I was at the playground with my step sibling. and we were playing this game where we would swing and point out the smaller kids like ‘Thats#my kid’. Choosing babies basically and not much else. And this one girl was getting teased so we invited her over and she sat in my step#siblings’s lap while they swung. Well this girl chats like the 5 year old she was and I stumbled over my words or something and my step#sibling laughs at me hysterically. That hurt my feelings but I remember thinking that I wanted to be more thick skinned than I was when I#was the girl’s age so I just pushed it back and kept swinging. My step sibling had to#pee or something. so it was just me and this girl. I wasn’t as chatty as my sibling but when the girl slipped off the swing and couldn’t#Get back on. I asked her if she wanted me to help her get back on. and she was like ‘My mom doesn’t let me talk to strangers’#Of course this confused me. because we just met and I am also a child?#She looked. like. uncomfortable near me or something and I just felt so weird in my body#Cause like. I know I’m chubby and taller than other girls but am I really scary like an older boy?#My sibling was an average size and a little malnourished and I was already incredibly insecure about our differences#Like I was wearing knee shorts and a t shirt to swim in the lake and they were wearing a girl’s bikini lol#Then this little kid gets right back on their lap when they got back and I was like ‘😬’ trying not to cry and just walked away to sit by#myself. Now there’s a picture of my clueless father sitting next to me when I’m like ‘Oh ‘extremely high kid voice crack’ sure you can sit#next to me dad😃 Please drown Em in the lake for me because I hate them and that people like them better’ from behind.#This was a pretty regular experience for kids but I was a little off and even kids sense these things lol

Short: Touch and Starvation
Tumblr media
Wednesday Has a Question only you can answer.
Hopefully people still enjoy Bitterly Beautiful as much as I do, I have a lot of ideas (not many people ask for it, but still.) that I want to share and just mind dump, and this is my favorite idea; The Greatest Wednesday Fluff.
It was winter, the cold at set it at Nevermore and it made taking care of the crows a bit harder than expected. (Y/n) placed the feed into their bowl and allowed the animals to carouse in and feed. He took a step back and admired his hands work. (Y/n) wore his Nevermore Uniform bit with a black heavy breasted jacket Issued by the School. Sensing the footsteps approaching he calmly closed the cage and turned around, titling his head slightly in the direction of the footsteps. He could tell they were light footed, heavy boots though, definitely Wednesday.
“Wednesday, I don’t see you outside in the winter much. Enjoying the snow?” He walks over to his girlfriend, gently taking her hands in his, Wednesday was never one for fun or any sense of enjoyment besides her own company. “You could say that, but I came to speak with you on an important matter.” She said. This was concerning, “important matters.” For Wednesday usually were to discuss the investigation or tell (Y/n) something he really didn’t want to hear.
“O-okay?” He said, raising an eyebrow to her request, the two spoke in a more private setting, his Bedroom, sitting next to her, the Boy tilts his head into her direction.
“Alright, so, what’s up?” He asks, and Wednesday grips the bed slightly, building the courage to speak.
“I want to know, how do you see?” She asks, he smugly folds his arms.
“Magic, obviously.” He said, she frowns at him.
“No, no jokes, no half answers, I want the truth (Y/n). Stop using jokes as a mask for it.” She said with the upmost respect that she had for him, (Y/n)’s smug grin quickly faded and he lets out a sigh, he fiddles with his hands for a moment before speaking.
It’s like a, a sonar. Sounds bounce around and I make some things out, detail? That’s not possible, can’t read, write, see color.. it’s, hard.” He explains, Wednesdays brow furrows. “All the times you called me beautiful, were those lies?” She asks, there was a hint of pain in her voice, (Y/n) abruptly turned his head towards her.
“Absolutely not!” He said, “You Are Beautiful..”
“How do you know? I know beauty isn’t just looks, it’s Posture, attitude, grace, things I obviously lack.” Wednesday admits.
“Well you aren’t wrong about that.” He said, she eyes him and he could sense the intensity. He averts his face.
“Look, I love you for you, beauty or not…” he explains, “But… there is one way for me to see you.” He said, she considers her response, Wednesday tilts her head oh so slightly. “How?” She asks, he turns and shows his hand.
“Wednesday… can I… can I touch your face?” He said, Wednesday just stared at him, not knowing how to respond. (Y/n) awkwardly puts his hand down.
“Sorry that was weird huh? I didn’t mean to, it’s just the best way, seeing with my hands and all..” he drones on, Before Wednesday blurts it out.
“Only for a few minutes.” She admits, he turns back, “Only for a few minutes, and if you tell anyone I let you touch my face I will pour melting wax into your ears.” She said, (Y/n) nodded.
“Of course.” He replies, Wednesday takes a deep breath and closes her eyes, “begin.” She says, (Y/n) slowly rose his hands up and calmly cups her cheeks, the bristle of skin contact felt so, sudden. His brain could finally scan her soft skin, the gentle brush of her pigtails nearing the tips of his fingers made his skin jump for a moment.
“Such refined cheekbones you have.” He said jokingly, Wednesday wasn’t in the best mood, severely underestimating how uncomfortable this would be, his finger gently and lovingly caressed her cheekbones and his thumb softly brushed against her lower lips. “Your lips, soft.. well I already knew that~” he said with a flirty. His finger tips turn slowly went along her ears to brush up against them, tiny but also supple and soft like most of her. (Y/n)’s thumb gently moved closer to the center of her face as he cutely boops her nose. Wednesday took a shaky breath and she felt his hands move away. Wednesday opens her eyes to him, looking sad.
“Why did you stop?” She said, (Y/n) frowned
“You’re uncomfortable…”
“I’m not—“ she begins but (Y/n) cuts her off, “Wednesday if there’s anything I do know well it’s body language. You’re tensing up, your breathing is erratic.. I don’t want to keep going if it makes you uncomfortable, it’s okay.” He puts his hand on hers, trying to reassure his girlfriend. Wednesday was at a loss for words. He gives her a sad smile, but still one of deep love and compassion.
“I don’t give a damn about how you look, I could care less, but now I can put a face to the woman I plan to spend the rest of my life with”. He gives her a reassuring kiss on her cheek.
“I don’t need to see, I just need to know.. and I know that you love me..” (Y/n) said with confidence, a confidence Wednesday couldn’t hide her smile to.
“You really are a blind fool… well, I suppose I am as well, because I love you too.”

How did you even end up here?
Sweating, writhing, dripping - some fluids not even your own - and positively undone.
Even as your cunt is filled with Jake’s cock, mouth stuffed with Bradley’s, your mind can still replay the series of events that started this entire evening. What was a harmless fantasy you'd shared with a girlfriend of yours has turned into possibly the most erotic moment of your life.
Up until now, at least.
“Oh, my God!” Your friend - Alisha - cackled. “You're not serious?”
“No way!” You laughed before sipping your drink, rounding the bar at the Hard Deck to get a little closer to where Bradley stood playing pool with the guys. “I’d let each of them take their turn with me, hands down.”
“You’re filthy!” Alisha hollered, laughing at your frankness. “But…” She glanced out at the men, beginning to nod as understanding dawned on her. “Yeah, okay, I’d totally let them ping-pong me like the slutty thing I am. Or, at least, would be for them.” You playfully smacked her arm.
“That's my fiancé you're talking about,” you warned sarcastically. The two of you doubled over in giggles as you walked back to the group of aviators gathered around the pool table.
Bradley felt your warmth and slowly snaked his arm around your waist as you sidled up next to him, kissing the top of your head as he usually did. As far as you knew, the tall brunette hadn't heard a lick of what you and your friend were so brazenly daydreaming about. He sipped his beer, stared straight ahead, and his mind swam with exactly how he would pull this off for you…
-
Bradley approached Jake later that same night, the most uncomfortable look on his face that the Southern man had ever seen. Bradley’s hands fidgeted at his sides as he walked up to him at the bar, having excused himself to get another beer and using it as the perfect cover to talk. And, as he approached, Jake’s heart sank into his gut as the possible scenarios of what he was about to hear ran in his mind.
“Hey, man,” Bradley grunted. “Got a sec?”
“I dunno,” Jake turned to look at the bombshell wiggling her fingers at him in the corner. “Ah, shit, why not? What's up?”
“Got kind of a… Weird question,” he continued.
“Uh-oh, trouble in love land?” Jake drawled with a grin. “What happened?”
“Nothing! I just… I overheard her talking with Alisha and… Well,” Bradley shifted on his feet, gnawing on the inside of his cheek.
“Spit it out, man, I’ve got a clock here.” Jake seemed irritated already. Bradley wasn't sure if he could do this.
“She said something about… Wanting us to take turns with her. In bed,” Bradley looked like he was going to pass out. Jake stood there gaping at Bradley, searching his face for any sign of this being a joke. A cruel, sick, stupid joke. When he received no indication, he cleared his throat.
“Well,” Jake started, uneasy. “I guess… Uh, maybe you should talk to her about it?”
“Nah, see-” Bradley looked around to make sure you weren't near them. “I’m kind of down for it. Only if you are, though.”
Jake’s eyes seemed to light up at the suggestion. Was he down for it? He’s been down bad for you since he laid eyes on you, until he realized you were spoken for and stepped back. And then, when it was Bradley whom you were spoken for, it made it all that much harder.
Bradley couldn't help but draw into himself as his words hung in the air. He was sure Jake was about to laugh in his face, tell everyone, then move on. He was sure you’d be mortified that he’d overheard you. He was even more sure, though, that this would make you happy. After all, it’s nice to mix things up in the bedroom.
And then, just as Bradley was about to chuckle, clear his throat and suggest it was just a bad idea and tell Jake to forget about it, Jake’s voice cut through the agony in his head.
“I’ll do it.”
-
It was all a blur from there. Bradley approaching you, that warm, sweet smile you've loved for so many years. And hands - hands that weren't his - settling on your hips. You remember feeling anxious. But… With Bradley looking at you so sweetly, how could you resist your man?
“Heard you needed somethin’ from me, sugar,” Jake drawled against your ear. “Bradley told me everything.”
“What… What?” You breathed out the words softly, stunned.
“I heard you and Alisha, baby girl,” Bradley piped up. “Such a naughty little fantasy you shared. And so…”
“Scandalous,” Jake finished. “How could I refuse such an offer?” His hands traveled up your loose-fitting t-shirt and fingertips ghosted over the soft skin of your stomach.
Bradley walked up to you and placed a hand on the side of your neck. Looking back up at him, doe-eyed and stunned, he smirked and slid his hand down your face only to wrap it around your neck loosely.
“Jake?”
“Hmm?”
“Let’s go have some fun.”
-
So now, here you are, a mix of sweat and cum and stuffed completely full of the two aviators. The lewd sounds of skin slapping together and your own choking radiate throughout the room. You’re positively delirious with pleasure and Bradley - sweet, sweet Bradley - knows exactly what you need.
Bradley looks down at you as he fucks your mouth and runs a big hand through your hair to pull it out of your face. You open your eyes to look at him, cheeks hollowed out, sucking his painfully-hard cock. He gives you the darkest grin you’ve ever seen on his beautiful face.
“So pretty,” he growls. “So full of us. You must be on cloud fucking nine, baby girl.”
Jake’s fingers dig hard into the flesh of your hips. You’re sure there will be beautiful bruises there come morning. And you're sure Bradley will kiss them with the tender touch he always showered you with. The bruising pace Jake set behind you reminded you of the delicate way in which Bradley loves you.
And you need that reminder.
“Mnh-nh!” Your moans fall around Bradley’s cock as he tilts his head back.
“Fuck, baby,” he moans. “Feels so good when you moan for me.”
“You're sweating, Bradshaw-” Jake hisses.
“So are you,” Bradley retorts. “How's she looking?”
“So pretty,” Jake grunts and slows down a little. He leans his head forward, letting some spit dribble from his mouth. You feel it dripping down the crack of your ass and you whine around Bradley. You know where this is going.
“Gonna get prettier, darlin’,” Jake drawls. He uses his fingers to spread his spit around your ass hole. Testing the waters, he presses the pads of his fingers to the opening and pushes them in just a touch. The way you clamped around him had him seeing stars.
“Oh, pretty girl, you're squeezin’ me so hard,” he groans. He feels you loosen up and continues pushing his fingers inside you. Knuckle-deep, he chuckles in satisfaction. Your mewls around Bradley’s cock were music to his ears.
He resumes his relentless pace and his eyes snap to meet Bradley’s. Bradley looks close, he can tell by the strain of the veins in his neck. A dark grin crosses the Southern man’s face.
“Gonna cum in her filthy mouth, Bradshaw?” Jake coos. Bradley lets out a huff of air and shakes his head. “Sure looks like it. Fuck, look at you,”
Bradley looks down at his own cock stuffed in your mouth, the tears in your eyes and hears the way Jake taunts him. His lip twitches and he lets out a shattered breath.
“Fuck-hhh you- Jake!” He cries out and pulls his cock from your mouth, squirting his hot cum all over your face. You squeeze your eyes shut, thankful none of it got in them. You drool as you feel the liquid dripping down your face, moaning softly,
“Damn, Bradshaw-” Jake hisses. “You made a mess,” he feels your walls flutter around his cock and simply holds his thick fingers inside your ass. They're in deep and you can only feel pleasure.
“Shit, she looks so pretty like this.” Bradley leans his head back against the wall and looks down at you, languidly stroking his cock as he watches his release dripping off your chin. “Never painted your face before, baby, I think I’ll keep doing that.”
You moan in response and feel Jake’s cock hitting a spot deep inside you that you've never felt before with Bradley. You assume it's because of his fingers being stuffed to the knuckle inside your ass. And you'd have to convince Bradley to do the same tomorrow night.
Bradley swipes his thumb across your cheek and smirks. He brings the digit up to Jake’s mouth and feeds him the cooling fluid. Jake happily accepts his cum and stares him in the eyes, establishing some kind of dominance.
“A-Ahhhah, Jake I-I’m gonna- Fuck! I’m gonna cum-mmm!” Your babbling snaps him from his trance. He grinds against you and forces his cock impossibly deeper which sends you into a tizzy.
Bradley brings his fingers down to stroke your aching clit and just like that - they’ve got you. You clamp down around Jake’s cock as he pumps in and out of you, cumming harder than you ever have. You shriek their names, throat ripped to shreds before Bradley's lips close over yours in a bruising kiss.
Jake’s hips slam into yours harshly and you can feel him twitch inside you, spilling himself inside you violently. He grunts an animalistic sound you've never heard before and squeezes your hips in his large hands.
You're left a panting, moaning mess. Bradley’s cum still on your face, growing colder by the minute. Jake sits inside you still and Bradley is soothing your burning skin with his gentle hands. Jake finally pulls out of you and you collapse into a heap on top of your fiancé.
“Oh, sugar,” Bradley chuckles. “You're cute if you think we're done.”
Your whine of exhaustion must be a secret code word for them, as Jake is gathering you up and laying back, pulling your back flush against his as he lays down. You feel his pulsing erection at your ass hole and whimper softly. You know exactly what this means.
“Gonna go slow, darlin’,” Jake whispers huskily in your ear. “Gonna make you scream again. Right, Bradshaw?” Another chuckle comes from above you - Bradley.
“She sounds so pretty when she screams for us, Seresin.”
Jake slowly pushes himself inside your ass, your teeth gritting and grinding as he stretches your hole wide open. You hiss in pain but the relaxation of your muscles brings incredible pleasure. You cry out softly as the full feeling begins to make you shiver.
“Oh, God, Jakey…” you whine. “S’Good…”
Bradley’s fingers poke and prod at your still-leaking cunt. You keen loudly at the feeling, already knowing now what the two had planned.
“Baby girl, fuck. You're squeezing the life outta poor Jake back there,” Bradley huffs. “Let's see how much more room you've got…”
He climbs over your body, and Jake's, and pushes his cock inside your cunt. Slowly, inch by inch, he seats himself fully inside you. Your strangled cries of pleasure are indication enough that they haven't hurt you. His hands are planted on either side of both your heads as he begins to pull out, only to snap his hips back to yours.
Jake moans as he feels you clench around him and Bradley, also loving the feeling of Bradley’s balls bumping against his. It's more intimate than he was planning on but fuck, if it didn't feel good. Your whimpering was simply music to their ears.
Bradley grunts and picks up the pace, Jake beginning to move inside you as well. You're overwhelmed with pleasure feeling their cocks slide past each other from the two angles they hit. Your eyes roll back in your head and you're babbling fucked-out nonsense as they fill you to the brim.
“Hah, baby girl, fuck,” Bradley grunts desperately. “So fuckin’ tight, I’m gonna cum again-”
“She's got a vice grip on me, Bradshaw, holy shit.” Jake’s voice is wrecked and you can tell he's trying to hold back. He’ll cum soon, too.
“Wanna cum baby? Need to cum?” Bradley teases. You nod your head in a daze and squeeze your eyes shut as his hand comes down to assault your clit.
“Cum, darlin’,” Jake hisses. “Fucking cum already.”
Snap.
Your scream rips through your throat as your orgasm washes over you. It's the longest orgasm you've ever had, and by far the most intense. It causes your fingers to tingle and toes to curl. You're left a crying, drooling mess.
Jake cums shortly after you, Bradley in tow. They grunt and groan your name as they fill your body once again. Bradley, spent from the marathon he just ran with the two of you, folds over you, still seated inside you. Jake pulls out of you and whimpers in exhaustion. A sound none of you were expecting.
In a daze, you feel Bradley pull you off of Jake and onto his chest. You wrap yourself around him and bury your face in his neck. All you need now is him. Your loving husband-to-be.
“I got you, baby,” he coos. “I've always got you.”
Jake smiles down at the two of you before sitting back. Bradley looks over at him and gives him a knowing nod of approval, which Jake returns. As if this was a “bro” thing that they'd arranged. You, on the other hand, are just a jelly mess of limbs and tingling all over.
“Jake,” Bradley hums.
“Bradshaw?” Jake answers.
“Appreciate your time,” your fiancé says with a smirk.
“Anytime.”

“Why are you avoiding me?” Neteyam finally managed to corner Y/n. Leaving her no route of escape. Y/n chews her lower lip  nervously as her eyes dart around aimlessly. She made sure not to make eye contact with Neteyam knowing fully well it would make her heart feel weird again.
“What do you mean? Why would I avoid you?” Y/n shrugs, shuffling under his stare uncomfortably.
Neteyam gulps at her bruised lips, the product of her chewing them nervously. He couldn’t help but recall the events that left him breathless. That urged him to confront her which only got him to realize she was actively avoiding him.
“You’re barely around. You don’t come with me to training anymore and you don’t wanna accompany me on rides! Riding our Ikran’s together-” Neteyam gestures in the space between them. “-that’s our thing”
Y/n finally looks up, her breath hitched as she stared into his beautiful yellow hues. It was true that she had been avoiding him, but not for reasons he beat himself over, no. She was avoiding him due to her own revelation.
The reason why she felt so giddy near her older brother, the reason why she always followed him around and hated when girls their age would try to gain his attention. It was love, infatuation.
After the ‘practice’ kiss Y/n had realized, she loved him. She loved her own brother as a lover. As a potential mate. And that disturbed the girl in unimaginable ways. She knew Neteyam didn't feel the same, he even reminded her prior and after the kiss that it was a ‘practice’,  that it had no meaning. But Y/n just couldn’t help it.
She began to contemplate her whole existence. Why was she born into a family where she fell head over heels for her brother? The connection she felt towards him, the tug she felt that always lured her into his embrace. It was as if fate was mocking her, being cruel to her. Why was she cursed?
She always  felt like something was missing in her life. Never once did her parents, Jake and Neytiri, refer to Y/n as their ‘daughter’. Though they showered her with love, when anyone asked about her it was always Y/n this, Y/n that. Not how they would refer to Kiri. As their daughter.
This confused the girl which always left her empty. Luckily Neteyam was always there, always ready to hold her tight ensuring she was safe and secure. That she was loved. In Y/n’s eyes, falling for Neteyam was inevitable.
“No-I’m….I’m sorry Neteyam. I’ve been in a really weird headspace lately” Y/n admits, stepping closer to her brother. Neteyam immediately engulfs her into a bone crushing embrace as Y/n lets out a sigh of relief. She feels her entire body let loose, beginning to melt into the embrace as her senses filled with his comforting scent.
“Then tell me about it. Tell me what you feel. How you feel. I’ll always be here for you, Y/n. No matter what” Neteyam murmurs, his heart beating erratically at the fact he finally had her in his arms after being apart for what felt like forever.
Y/n pulls back, peering up at her brother who smiles down at her. His braids falling past his face as she gently brushed them aside. He loved how Neteyam kept his hair long, braided neatly and let loose. she ha told him on numerous occations how it framed his face beautifully.
“I don’t want to burden you”
“How could you? You are never a burden. I’m your brother, you are my responsibility.” Neteyam assures. Y/n’s eyes widened at his words, everything he said was true. She was foolish for loving him when he was the perfect brother to her. She realized then and there she would have to get over her childish crush. For her brother's sake.
“I’m sorry for keeping my distance Neteyam….forgive me?” Y/n asks timidly as Neteyam beams. He squeezes her tightly against him in pure glee.
“Of course baby sister!”
~~~~~~~~~~~6 Years Later~~~~~~~~~~
(Y/n and Neteyam are both 19, turning 20 soon)
As the years flew by, Y/n and Neteyam’s bond only grew. In many ways more than one.
Neteyam grew to be a great warrior, training every day and achieving feats unimaginable and heavily admired by the tribe. He grew to be the definition of  perfection, being nicknamed the ‘Prince of the Omatikaya’. He was widely admired and praised. The whole clan saw him as the perfect future leader as they marveled at his accomplishments.
Not only did he prove himself over the years but he grew to be quite handsome. Attracting many suitors along the way. None of which caught his attention, though many had tried.
Luckily Jake and Neytiri never pressured him to find a mate, but the clan did not forget. Many would approach him with requests, many older Na’vi offering their daughters for the privilege to be his mate which he always politely declined.
How could he? How could he even think about finding a mate when Y/n looked like that.
“Would you look at that~~~” No'eng, Neteyam’s friend whispers, his eyes trained on a certain female Na'vi.
Neteyam and his friend had been near the river gutting and cleaning the fish they had caught earlier in the day. Across them a few children jumped around in the water playfully.
Neteyam looks up, his pupils dilating as they land on the very person his best friend openly gawked at. Y/n giggles as she splashes some water towards Tuk who dogged just in the nick of time.
Over the years Y/n had also grown. Though Neteyam hoped and prayed his feelings would dissipate over the years growing alongside her, it didn't. She grew up to be beautiful. Her beauty and skills were admired amongst the clan.
She grew a few feet taller, still shorter  than Neteyam  and many other men. Her long locks reaching past her shoulders, always perfectly braided to her liking. Somehow always  having beads and pearls that would always catch Neteyam's eyes.
And her body, Neteyam always felt himself get hot when he thought of that. He desperately tried not to notice her physical development, but the longer he stared. The more tempted he got. The deeper his desires became.
The way her bust grew, larger than many other female Na’vi but that much desirable. Neteyam often caught himself gazing at them, daydreaming about how they would feel against his hands. Her tiny waist that he knew would fit perfectly against his hands.
The list goes on and on.
She was perfect, she is perfect. Not just to Neteyam but to many other males. Something Neteyam hated.
“That's my sister No'eng, watch yourself” the sharpness in Neteyam’s tone causes the boy to quickly look away, apologizing quietly. It was well known that Neteyam protected all his siblings, especially Y/n. He made it his mission to keep everyone with lingering glances away,  all because he knew what they meant.
Which is why he was that much more protective over her. No one was good enough for his sister, not even himself.
Neteyam’s ears twitched to the sound of Y/n’s laughter, it sounded so beautiful and serene. Neteyam glances over at his sister, a smile twitching along his lips. He watches how she gets splashed with water, claiming vengeance against Tuk who cowers away in mock fear.
Neteyam’s face heats up as his eyes zone on the droplets of water that cascaded down her body, past her neck and into the confines of her top that shifted amidst all her movement. He gulps as his eyes catch the delicious sight of her nipples under her top now that it stuck onto her after getting wet.
Clearing his throat loudly Neteyam forces his attention to the fish in hand. Ignoring the throbbing in between his legs.
~~~~~~
“N-Neteyam, we shouldn't” Y/n whispers, her  eyes scrunched up in pleasure as she lays before her brother. His hands caged her in between them as he propped himself above her, his lips swipe along his lips as he tried to burn the image deep into his brain.
Y/n, sprawled underneath him with her hair spread out. Her face flush with embarrassment and lust, and her eyes dilated in desire. The same desire he felt shock through him,
“Fuck, I know nihona, I know. I just can't help myself” (Sweet) Neteyam whines, his tone laced with pain from holding himself back. He felt his resolve disappear the more he watched her tremble underneath him. How long he had wished for this, how long he dreamed of this. To have her so close, withering under his heated touch.
Neteyam slides his knee up along her inner thigh, coming in contact with her hot cunt that causes her to jolt in surprise. “O-oh! N-Neteyam '' Y/n moans, closing her eyes at the feeling of him rubbing against her soaked folds. Neteyam sighs out loud, feeling her essence soak through the fabric, his knee working along her pussy.
“Y-yes love. Say my name, just-l-like that” Neteyam gasps out. Who knew that Y/n gasping his name would sound so delicious? So addicting?
Neteyam leans down, brushing his nose up against her neck. Finding the optional spot to take in a deep breath as her scent invaded her senses. He swipes his tongue along her delicate skin as she whimpers at the new, but welcomed sensation.
“I need to be inside you, my nihona. P-please” Neteyam begs breathlessly. Unconsciously he bucks into the cot they were sprawled upon, seeking any sort of friction. Though every primal instinct in him wanted to take her no questions asked, he had to hear her admit to wanting it just as badly as him. Y/n shivers under him at his words.
“N-Neteyam. I-I”
~~
Neteyam jolts awake, a thick layer of sweat drenching his body. Tiny gasps escape him as he looks around to his surroundings trying to get a grip of where he was. He tries to calm down his heart rate as his eyes take in what was around him.
He realizes he’s in his family tent, tucked away is his respective corner. It was a dream, it was a fantasy he dreamt of every day. Though he lived for his fantasies, it only proved to be a curse when he realized that's all it was. A fantasy.  Feeling uncomfortable under his weaved cloth he pulls it over, gasping at the sight.
“Shit”
Neteyam curses under his breath seeing his member hard and already leaking  from the dream he had. He had to take care of this, it didn’t seem to go down even after he realized he had a wet dream in the comfort of his own home with his family soundlessly asleep around him.
Just as Neteyam lifts his covers fully to silently get out of bed he hears the tiniest whimper from beside his cot, freezing at the sound he looks around the tent for any movement. His ears twitch and strain to listen to the sound only to be rewarded with a tiny moan.
He’d recognize that voice anywhere. His cock twitched once he realized what he was hearing.
“Hmm” Y/n whimpers out, shuffling around on her own cot. The sounds of her fingers working against her slick folds seem to echo through the tent.
Neteyam felt like he was already a terrible brother from having the dream he was enjoying so greatly. Now he felt horrible listening in on his sister's tiny cries as she pleasures herself. Why did he convince his parents to have their cots right next to each other?
Neteyam lays back down quietly, trying to ignore the sounds that seem to zone in on him. Her breathless whimpers, the squelching sounds of her juices as she desperately pumps in and out of her puffy cunt for a release.
Neteyam closes his eyes, his cock straining against his loincloth at her moans. He couldn't calm down now even if he wanted to. Not when she sounded so sensual.
After coming to the conclusion he couldn't do anything right now without being found out he was awake and hard, Neteyam reaches down to pull his loincloth to the side. He hisses as the cool air hits his hard cock as he wraps his fingers around the girthy shaft.
He spreads precum across the tip and along the length. Neteyam  gently pumps along his member while closing his eyes at the feeling. Y/n’s moans only increase in intensity as she nears her peak, prompting Neteyam to pump his cock faster to cum the same time as her.
“F-fuck” Y/n whispers out. Neteyam bites back a moan that threatens to escape as he increases his speed.
That night Neteyam had the best orgasm he had in years, all while fucking himself to the sound of his little sister. Just as she pleasured herself not knowing her brother heard every moan, every whimper.
~~~~~~~
“Shit! Neteyam!” Y/n runs alongside Kiri as it had been announced that the war party had returned. Y/n caught a glimpse of her injured brother which only prompted her to push her legs faster, coming to stop right in front of him. Her fingers reach out to touch him to which he holds his hand up in protest.
Neteyam shakes his head as Y/n rolls her eyes, taking his arm into her hand as she examines the wounds and traces of blood.
“Y/n, Kiri, Will you please help your grandmother with the wounded, please?” Jake asks, briefly turning his attention away from lecturing his sons to his daughters who didn't seem that bothered by his harsh words.
“Our brother is wounded, dad” Kiri speaks up in annoyance, Y/n furrows her eyes on her brother's face who looks to be on the verge of tears.  She seemed to drown out what her father was saying as all she could focus on was her dear brother.
After Jake tosses a few more words their way Neytiri orders Y/n to patch Neteyam up who agrees immediately, dragging the older male to their family tent. Upon entry they see Mo’at had all the ointment already set up and ready, but she was nowhere to be found. Not wanting to wait any longer Y/n pulls Neteyam to sit down on a mat while she plops down across him
Neteyam’s ears twitch nervously ,  he glances at his sister who hasn't uttered a single word. His eyes follow her as she gathers to ointment in her fingers, rubbing them together to warm up the paste. Feeling his ears drop at the lack of response, Neteyam clears his throat which causes Y/n to finally look at him. But not with the smile he had been waiting all day for.
“Is it that hard to follow orders?” Y/n hisses, her ears folded back showing she was actually worried for Neteyam despite her harsh tongue. Neteyam gulps at her words.
“You know how Lo’ak is, I was try-”
Tumblr media
“You didn't try hard enough!” Y/n hisses. Tears began to form along her irises as she tried to hold them back.
“You promised me-you promised to be careful! You said you'd be careful for me!” Neteyam couldn’t help but frown. The morning of the raid, when Y/n brought  him in for a tight hug, she made him promise to come back to her unscathed. He did promise. No wonder she is upset.
“You think I like seeing you like this? You think it pleases me to see someone I-my brother in pain?” Y/n stumbled over her words, her cheeks flushing when she realized she almost slipped up during her emotional rant. The whole time  Neteyam stayed quiet. He deserved this, he should be protecting his sister. Not causing more stress for her like he did now.
“You have no idea how much you mean to me. How….how much I care” Y/n mumbles in defeat, wiping the stray tears that disobeyed her orders as they ran along her cheeks. Neteyam scoots closer to her, using his finger to lift her chin up to look into his awaiting eyes.
“I know, I’m a skxawng for making my sister worry. It won't happen again, I'll be extra careful I promise , I swear by Ewya-” Y/n smiles at his words, leaning her forehead against his. Neteyam ignored the stinging pain his wounds provided, relishing the moment when he felt her heat against him.
“-and I know how much you care. Because I care for you, I know how you feel” Neteyam whispers.
Y/n’s eyes widen as she stares at Neteyam. Her breath hitched at his words. “Y-you do?” she asks, her breath fanning against him.
Y/n leans closer to her brother, seeking more of his warmth. Though Neteyam’s eyes widened in slight fear at how close she got, he couldn't help but glance at her pouty lips. As if waiting for something, wanting something to brush up against.
Just as Neteyam feels himself lean closer, the sound of the tent flaps rustling causes the duo to jump apart from one another. They share a nervous glance as Mo’at walks in, her eyes tracing over them.
“You have not tended to his wounds yet?” She asks in slight annoyance as Y/n scurries to stand up. She felt her entire face flush at almost being caught at such a compromising position.
‘I almost kissed him! Kissed Neteyam!’
Y/n doesn’t dare look back at Neteyam as she walks to the entrance. “I-I’m sorry grandmother. I need some f-fresh air” Y/n says before quickly rushing out.
Mo’at sighs before walking to her grandson in disappointment. The entrance flutters open as Lo’ak, Kiri, Spider and Tuk rush in to be there for Neteyam.
Neteyam’s shoulders drop, his eyes training on the mat below him.
‘I fucked up’
~~~~~~
Y/n rushed to the only place she felt calm.
After many years she kept denying her feelings for her brother, always pretending like it didn’t exist even though her feelings only grew over the years. The only place she seemed to have a peace of mind was Vitraya Ramunong (Tree of Souls).
Where she went to express her feelings, pour them out as she surrounded herself with the warmth of her ancestors. Specifically two Na’vi, who always met with her when she connected to it. Two figures she has still yet to know the identity of.
“Y/n?” A sweet voice calls, Y/n whips around at the sound of the comforting voice. Her eyes welling with tears as the woman walks closer to her, her arms stretched wide as she pulls her in for an embrace.
“What’s wrong dear? Why are you upset?” The woman asks, her eyes looking down at the smaller girl who weeps freely in her arms. Y/n didn’t know the connection she had with this Na’vi, only that the woman brought her great comfort. And that she was always there when Y/n connected with the spirit tree. As if waiting for her.
“I-it’s…my feelings. I feel so conflicted. I feel…such a burden and disappointment!” Y/n admits , pulling back from her embrace. The woman smiles softly, pulling Y/n along with her to a large log . There sat a male, an older Na’vi man who smiled warmly at Y/n.
He pats the spot beside him as Y/n takes a seat. The woman following closely after,
“What feelings? Is it love?” The woman asks, reaching her hand to gently stroke Y/n’s locks. Y/n feels her shoulders relax, her sobs calming down at the action.
“I…I love him so much. I just don’t know why? Why can’t I stop? I can’t stop myself from feeling this way…I-I shouldn’t love him!” Y/n whispers. The man beside her chuckles, patting her back,
“And why not? Love is a beautiful thing, if you’ve loved him for this long, isn’t it worth fighting for?” The man asks, his eyes crinkled as he smiles wide.
“I can’t, it’s not that simple”
“Oh? Do tell?” The woman muses, her eyes shining with a knowing look.
“I-it’s Neteyam…..I love Neteyam” Y/n whimpers. She had previously told the man and woman about her family after she had visited many times before.
Y/n looked to her lap shame, she waited for the helpful Na’vi’s to wretch at her confession. Her feelings were taboo, wasn't it? But none came, instead the woman giggled bashfully.
“The best advice I could give you is to trust your feelings, trust your love for Neteyam. Love is sacred, you wouldn’t feel this strongly for him if it didn’t mean anything. Ewya has a way for everything, I’m sure Ewya has plans for you two” the woman says mysteriously.

Y/n feels herself smile to herself before turning to both the man and woman. “Thank you….I needed to hear that. I’ve been so confused lately….thank you both” Y/n whispers happily.
Y/n starts to feel herself slowly drift out of the connection. Realizing she was running out of time she frantically looks between the two.
“Who are you, why won’t you tell me who you are?” Y/n asks hurriedly. Feeling her connection weaver at a rapid pace.
“When you're ready” the man replies, patting her head just as she disappears. Once again now knowing who they truly were.
The man and woman look to one another with knowing looks.

“Our little girl has grown up so much,” the woman says softly, tearing up. The man pulled her for a tight embrace agreeing with her words.

“Yes, she's beautiful Mirèya”
~~~~~~
Neteyam searched for Y/n the moment his grandmother gave him the green light to leave. Even though his injuries still stung, all he could remember was the brief look of fear he caught in Y/n's expression when they almost kissed.
He cursed himself for slipping up after many years of control. How could he have been so stupid?
Hearing some hushed voices Neteyam’s hurried steps come to a stop. He leans against the tent noticing his mother and father whispering amongst themselves unaware of him eavesdropping.
“She has a right to know Neytiri. The girl has been confused her entire life! She wants answers. We can give them to her” Jake says in a hushed tone. Neteyam furrows his eyebrows, wondering who they were talking about.
“No, it is not time Ma’Jake. This is the will of Ewya. I promised Y/n’s mother I will take care of her and I will. We’ll tell her eventually.” Neytiri says in a stern voice.
Neteyam's eyes widen once the words reach his ears, losing his balance as he tries to process what he had just heard.
Neteyam stumbles in the sight of his parents who stare at him with shock and fear of being caught. Jake goes to open his mouth but once Neteyam regains the composure he steps closer to them, his gaze set hard. He was never one to stand against his parents, especially his father. But at the moment all proper thoughts flew out the window.
“What is the meaning of this?!”
“Neteyam-“
“No, what do you mean by Y/n’s mother? Is  Y/n not my sister?!” Neteyam demands, his heart racing a mile per minute. Neytiri looks to Jake, her shoulders slumping in defeat. She turns to her son as she realized she had no choice but tell him the truth,
~~~~~~~
Neteyam's feet carry him across the forest floor with urgency, his smile stretched across his face wide. After hearing the truth , both Jake and Neytiri gave him permission to tell Y/n. He was ecstatic over the fact she would finally retrieve a piece of her she didn't know she had. And also happy for other reasons.
It felt like forever since his heart felt so full, so happy. He had learned that Y/n wasn't his sister, she was taken in when her mother passed. That meant everything he felt, everything he dreamt of was possible. It meant he had a chance.
Neteyam runs into the cleaning noting Y/n was  sitting under the Spirit Tree, her arms around her knees as she looks up at the glowing tendrils
“Y/n!”  Y/n jolts at the sudden voice, her head snapping to Neteyam directions while she quickly wipes her tears away,
“Neteyam! What are you doing here?” She asks as Neteyam walks over to her. His smiles disappears in a instant and he sits down beside her, his eyes tracing over her in case of any injury.
“Why are you crying?”
Y/n chuckles weakly, wiping her cheeks, “Oh, I haven’t noticed. Sorry,”  she says sheepishly. Neteyam quirks his eyebrow reaching up to swipe his thumb against her puffy cheeks. A part of him jumps in joy watching how her cheeks turned purple under his touch.
“Why are you apologizing nihona? Are you alright? He whispers. Y/n giggles at the nickname. A nickname she adored as Neteyam had been calling her that for such a long time.
“Why do you call me nihona?” Y/n tries to divert the question, staring at Neteyam with curious eyes. Neteyam smiles softly at the girl, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
“Because you're the sweetest thing I’ve ever laid eyes on '' Neteyam admits, his truth out on full display. Y/n grins at his words, nuzzling against his hand that rested on her cheek.

“Now tell me, why are you upset? You know I hate it when you’re in tears,”  Neteyam pulls her closer to him, causing her to let go of her knees. Neteyam maneuvers her into a comfortable position, also close to having her straddle him.
Y/n bites her lips at his question. Contemplating her words before glancing back at the glowing tendrils she was connected to not to long ago.
“I just…feel so empty sometimes. Like I’m missing something. It doesn’t help that I have these conflicting thoughts swirling in me, confusing my feelings… ”
Neteyam quirks an eyebrow at her words. He bit back the smile he had been holding, maybe what she had been missing in the very news he was eager to share at the moment? His hand glided along her arms all the way down her hand. He interlocks their fingers in a comforting gesture.
“Missing? What conflicted feelings?”
“I can’t explain it…it just makes me realize how lucky I am to have you guys-to have you Neteyam. I guess I realize how important you guys are to me. How important my family is,”
Neteyam nods, pulling her in for an embrace as she straddles his  hip. Her body molding against his. The action had no Ill intentions, just comfort. Neteyam hums, urging her to continue.

“I guess what I'm trying to say is if our family gives me meaning…make me feel like I’m fulfilled” Y/n admits deciding to keep her deeper feelings hidden. She finally realized how important her family was to her but also that her love for Neteyam would never die. And that she would live with that. She would have to love him from afar.
“I see…..Sully’s stuck together Y/n. You’ll always have us, you have nothing to worry about nihona” Neteyam murmurs into her neck. His voice cracking up. He clears his throat to make sure she didn’t hear the pain that seeped through his carefully calculated  words.
‘I can’t tell her’
Seeing how much his family meant to her, seeing how his family kept her from falling apart. Neteyam had to admit he couldn’t tell her about her true lineage.
For what? His own gain? So he could feel like his feelings had a shot of coming true one day?
 Watching the pain across Y/n’s face, seeing the tears that slipped past her façade. Neteyam came to the grilling conclusion he couldn’t and wouldn't tell her. Not until she was ready. Which only meant he would probably never get the chance to admit his feelings to her. And he was fine with that heartbreaking realization.
“You’ll always have your brother”

The air in the room was chilly, rippling your soft skin, warmed by the afternoon spent with your lover. He had convinced you to go with him, in the temple where you served as a priestess; interrupting you during one of your long prayers. You had not chosen to stay there: the local believers had entrusted you to the mother priestess immediately after finding you alone near the city gates, condemning you to a life of prayer, more uncomfortable clothes than anything else and chastity. But everything changed when you met a bizarre man who was looking for lodging for the night. His hair was styled in a very loose way, his eyes bore the beauty of a thousand freshly bloomed lotus flowers, while his expression went from calm to frustrated as the man crushed the candy in his mouth instead of melting it with the tongue. "Damn lollipops, I can never finish one without biting it"
His name was Buddha, a name that seemed to you at the time to fit his person. And yet, even if on the outside you were maintaining a calm expression, typical of a priestess, inside you were exploding with annoyance: the so-called Buddha would not stop filling you with questions, making you confused about the right path to take and refusing to leave you alone with the your thoughts. "So...why shut yourself up in a temple?"
"I already told you, my parents wanted it"
You were careful to keep the truth well hidden, avoiding the risk of making your temple look bad, painting it as a home for orphans; the other priestesses had been far too clear about it.
"Why don't you leave?"
"Why should I?"
"Your hate can be felt for miles, the stench is even stronger near you!" he said throwing her head back and holding his nose, leaving you shocked, eyes wide and mouth agape.
"Who the hell is this lad?" you thought as you tried to process the scene before you. A shiver ran down your spine: if you were really that easy to read, then you were doing a terrible job of not arousing suspicion from others. Leaving that cage was your dream since you were a child; you prayed to the gods every day to send you an angel ready to lift you up and take you away, far, far away, from the mother priestess and the strong smell of sandalwood incense. A caged bird, fed out of compassion, that's how you felt.
"We're here"
Your voice was hard, firm, you had gone from being a precious lily to seeming like an imposing elm; Buddha felt the change in the air, perhaps he had exaggerated provoking you like that, or the bastard was aiming for just that reaction...
After all, it was his job to guide anyone who felt lost: your poor soul had ventured into the maze of darkness, a thick shadow full of life. "But where's the shadow, there's light"
You looked at him again confused, judiciously before opening your mouth again: "Excuse me?"
"Ah! Nothing!" the stranger became defensive, exactly like a cat that is seen rummaging in the garbage.
"Weird"
"Rude!"
**✿❀○❀✿**
That little meeting of yours, even if it seemed strange and completely out of place, would have been the beginning of something much more beautiful. The only problem was, you didn't know it yet.
His stay made you go through all the colors of rage, even making you sweat blood from the nerves that the Buddha made you feel. Apparently, the mother priestess had well thought of entrusting her care to you; who seeks finds and who finds keeps, right?
Bullshit, that was. The great abbess simply didn't feel like moving her ass off her soft pillow, so she left the heavy lifting to her only submissive, one submissive enough to follow her every whim. You.
"Perfect..." you whispered as you picked up the newcomer's dirty clothes from the floor, placing them in a hand-woven basket
"...just perfect"
Your gaze turned sad all of a sudden. It was precisely in moments like this that the chains wrapped around your body pulled the most, tearing you both inside and out, and the mother priestess was the very one who had tied them to you the same day she locked you in there. She kept you on a leash like a little dog, but you didn't have the courage to oppose it, how could you? Let's say you had found the courage to rebel and finally leave... and then what? What would you have done alone?
"Nothing!"
Screaming might have relieved you of some tension, even tearing off your ceremonial dress and throwing it on the ground helped. So that's exactly what you did, opening in a short space of time that armor you'd built up over the years.
The dress hit the floor exactly as an archer's arrow pierces a target, making a dry, muffled sound. Inside you there was a storm going on, the same one that was now making you cry tears of anger, hot, but cold when they fell on your bare skin.
"You'll catch a cold like this"
Panic. Your mind began to invoke all the gods you knew of, repeating mantras, turning your head into a temple and your body stiff as wooden planks. The terror that one of the priests had seen you like that made you more afraid than death: he would immediately have you considered a heretic, only to excommunicate you under the contemptuous eyes of heaven.
Tears began to cloud your eyes again, remaining motionless staring at the dark wall of the small room; fear refused to make you turn and face the man before you. It was over. Head of the line for the crazed little priestess.
"Here"
Buddha said in a tender voice, then warm, this time not on your face but on your shoulders. At that point, you couldn't take it anymore and turned your head only to meet a pair of lotus eyes, deep and curious, the same ones who had captured you few hours before. "Thank you" you mutter trying to calm your nerves, but the thing was, you didn't know how to react at all. "Go on" he urged you to walk, nudging you slowly, carrying you through the silent corridors of the temple, the floorboards at your feet creaking with almost every step.
Buddha made you sit on his mat, closing the door and making sure no one was spying; once quiet, he sighed, sitting next to you, waiting for you to speak. A few seconds passed before you decided to breathe your mouth, without even trying to maintain the mask of a devout believer, you had been unmasked. "I never wanted this and you shouldn't have see me like...that"
The man only hummed. He still wanted to hear more, uh?
"They found me nearby, in a lute basket. I had no choice"
"You have now"
Those words hit you in the heart, punching it. You should have packed a sweat towel, because that conversation was about to become a duel where the sharpest word would win, hands down. But what exactly does it mean to win? You didn't want to be there, that's enough, it was obvious. Maybe you didn't just want to show your restrictions, those that perhaps the Abbess hadn't put on you, but Fear itself.
"Why don't you join me? Better than staying here, isn't it?"
"Can I? Really?"
In Buddha's eyes, you were exactly a beautiful canary whose cage was being opened, even if you carried the rage of a hungry wolf inside. His soul softened, feeling affection and pity for you, which translated into a sincere smile. Your cheeks turned red instantly: living like that, you had never experienced sensations other than negative ones and you had lost every shred of wonder, yet his smile had moved something inside you. It was contagious and even your lips curled up.
That night changed everything, turning your life upside down like the bad pancakes Buddha tried to cook from time to time. You two decided to leave immediately, at the following dawn to be precise, escaping into the thickets and dodging the threats of all the priests. Your smile was dazzling, with Buddha running dragging you with his hand tight around yours.
"HURRY UP!"
"GOT IT"
"THEY JUST THREW ME A PAN"
Freedom was sweet, mighty. It crept under your skin with every stride you took towards the temple exit, while Buddha - strictly with a new candy in the mouth - had the same dreamy eyes of someone reliving distant memories.
**✿❀○❀✿**
And here you are, years later, still together as the duo you were. Embraced in a hotel room where you have found shelter for the night, outside a stormy wind was blowing, which made the leaves of the trees whistle like freshly launched darts. "It's getting cold" you whispered in his ear, ready to get up to go get another blanket. Those days had been particularly stormy and had made the lives of travelers like you difficult. Finding that little inn in the woods had been like a blessing, as if some angel had smiled at you. In front of your aching legs and empty stomach, a clean bed meant a glimmer of sunshine amidst the raindrops.
"I heard they have spas downstairs, we could try them"
Buddha's voice was honeyed, like the candy cane that he was tossing with his tongue. You felt like eating his lips, stealing it from his mouth and playing a little, but no one was snatching the beloved snacks from the Buddha, he would rather throw the bed at you than follow you all the way to the hot springs. So, you went with that option because, hey, you only live once, right?
Your loved one couldn't even complain since you were inspired by one of his lessons. Your head rose slowly, approaching his like a tiger stalking its prey; he guessed and grinned playfully before speaking: "You just can't resist me"
"No, I can't!" you answered with an innocent smile, melting Buddha's heart. You were so beautiful: with your cheeks still dyed red, your hair a little disheveled and your skin still marked by his signs of love. He couldn't resist you either, so he decided to humor you and kiss you, in such a romantic way that for a moment you wondered if it was really your man and not a double.
His tongue danced with yours, while his hands rested lazily on your back, leaving some courtesy caresses. Buddha didn't even have time to realize it, that all the fire of your skin against his was instinctive as if they had thrown a bucket of water over it. His lids - closed before - had opened as soon as he felt a gust of air against his chest. A moment of silence, then he shifted his attention to the door to your open room and the trail of a blanket disappearing behind the wall. Confusion, realization, and then: "O-Oi! My candy!"
A breathless chase around the hotel began, where you darted in amusement with the candy stuck in your teeth, trying not to choke yourself on it by mistake, while Buddha was moaning behind you, chasing you with devotion. These little moments were your favorite and even better was the way they played out.
In a short time, the sliding door of the indoor spa could already be glimpsed and you jumped in as if there were no tomorrow. Paying attention to the floor of large stones, you made your way towards the largest pool; you started to turn, ready for your lover's angry expression, but he pounced on you at the first opportunity, throwing both of your bodies into the hot water. "Bad girl! That's no good!" he scolded you in a playful way, splashing you with water.
"Tell the truth, you liked it"
"You stole my dessert so it's impossible"
Buddha answered you, before taking off his soaked trousers to throw them near the edge of the tub, huffing lightly.
"I'll make it up to you, then"
A sensual smirk crept onto your face, while your (e/c) became veiled in lust, as if a goddess of love were manipulating you like a puppet. The man grinned as he felt his sweetheart's hands push him towards the edge of the perimeter, where he was trapped by your arms. The water rippled in concentric circles with your every step, while its roar colored the air together with the further sound of the small waterfalls. "So get started now, you'll be busy"
Buddha whispered in a deep voice, using the strength in his arms to sit on the marble edge, making you immediately collide with the sight of his already partially erect cock. You held his length in your hand, you could feel his warmth, how the pulse beat under your skin. Buddha had a little spasm when you kissed him, you smiled when you saw him tilt his head back and moan. But you wanted to own him, leave an indelible mark on the man.
You started using your tongue and it made him jump. Oh Gods, it was hard. Working with your mouth, you licked it from base to tip, smiling between various moans. You tasted the crown with your tongue, it tasted sweet and salty at the same time, then you kissed up and down. You moistened your lips before dipping it in your mouth, you did it looking Buddha straight in the eyes. His hand worked its way through your hair and grasping it, tried to guide you gently, up and down the length, cheeks slightly sunken as you massaged the part you couldn't reach.
"Fuck" moaned the man, who came after a few minutes. Every sound that came out of his mouth was like a drug for you, making you suddenly blush as you felt his seed flooding your throat. A choked sound came out of your mouth at first, then you swallowed it all to regain your title of good girl.
"You came...so much..." you huffed, looking up at him with eyes slightly closed.
Desire possessed Buddha, prompting him to immerse himself again in the tub to join you; he grabbed your breasts, squeezing them and pressing his thumb on your nipples, making you literally scream. Your lover wanted to love every inch of your body, squeezing and biting your every curve.
"Please, don't stop~"
"Damn water" he cursed. In fact, the water made him lose friction on your skin: Buddha's hands were constantly slipping and he couldn't get half the things he wanted to get done. From nervousness he kissed you hungrily, biting and taking your breath away, while one of your hands grabbed his now loose and wet hair, as if to push him even more towards your body.  Touching his skin was all you wanted, to hold him close and merge with him.
Your souls vibrated in sync, while your sighs and moans were drowned out by the rushing water, urging you not to hold back.
"Buddha..."
His name escaped your mouth like a prayer, one of those recited with heart in hand and with all possible devotion to one's god. "Alright, sweetheart. Turn around, can you do that for me?" Buddha asked you urgently, rosy cheeks and pure lust in his deep gaze. "Yes, honey" you answered with the exact same tone and turning your back on him.
Buddha grabbed your arms pulling them back and arching your back; you could feel some of your hair sticking to your skin as your legs spread in preparation for the future. Buddha was impatient, he couldn't help himself anymore: you drove him crazy, the man had never felt anything like that for a woman, but the meeting with you had moved his entire existence and now he couldn't help but overwhelm you.
Buddha forcibly thrusted his hips towards you releasing a deep growl and entering your womanhood. You sighed deeply arching your back even more and releasing a loud moan, which echoed throughout the room. How beautiful that feeling of fullness was and even more so given the person who was filling it. Something mixed with serenity and lust pervaded you making numerous shivers pass along your entire body.
He began to move his pelvis at an excruciating pace, for both of you. Buddha accelerated after a few minutes and your moans only encouraged the man more and more. Your legs were almost weaving but feeling your partner's hands holding you up gave you a sense of stability and security. The noises that escaped his lips, combined with those of the water, excited you more and more, while small droplets of sweat began to run down your body until they became part of the pool.
"Fuck...fuck, (Y/N)...you're so good"
From that position the man enjoyed a breathtaking view: your slightly bent head, your firm ass bouncing with every movement, his cock repeatedly entering and exiting your tight pussy, the rippling surface of the water and the latter which emphasized the sound of their skins touching. He couldn't take it anymore. He was about to reach his limit and he wasn't going to until you reached yours too.
His movements increased and became more desperate and sloppy. The scream of pleasure that came out of your mouth was melody to Buddha's ears behind you, who sighed deeply. With that position you could feel his member grow and throb inside you, it was as if you could sense every single vein rubbing against your skin. You were about to reach the limit and Buddha noticed it from the grip that your walls were exerting around him. He increased his hip movements even more regardless of the noise that was rumbling through the stone walls of the spa. Just as he was about to release his pleasure, he walked over to you and, in a low hoarse voice, asked, “Should I finish outside?”
But you opened your lids slightly, freeing yourself from his grip, you pressed your back to his muscular chest, while his strong arms moved around your hips. “Don't even think about it" you said before looking back and kissing him, bringing both of you to orgasm. Buddha held you in his arms, his movements became slow to fully enjoy the moment. You released a loud moan that was muffled by the deep kiss. His saliva mixed with yours dripped from your chin, just like his semen, which was now slowly pouring out of you in small streams.
Once you broke away and caught your breath, you burst out laughing, breaking the silence: "I should steal your snacks more often"
"Try it, I'll give you all the punishments you deserve"
"Now, that's what I wanted to hear~"
He smiled at you, a sincere smile full of affection, before capturing your lips again, softly as if you were made of porcelain.
Your heart started beating fast: this man would be your death, he had given you everything he had to offer without expecting anything in return, freeing you from your cage and treating you like a queen. You loved him, yes you did. Buddha felt the same way and although he couldn't offer you a life as rich as the one you were living before, he will never regret the moment when he freed his precious canary from the cage in which it was locked up.

Stalker (Diluc and Kaeya x Sister Reader)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
(Y/N) sighed, glancing around the area, trying to spot a familiar face amongst the small crowd. Not spotting the person she dreaded seeing, she felt a sense of relief, the sixteen year old was hoping to make it back to Dawn Winery without any issues. Usually that wasn't a problem, but someone had been making themselves too comfortable with being around her.
Albert was well known amongst the people of Mondstat for being the proudest member of Barbara's fan club, which (Y/N) found weird, considering both she and the deaconess were the same age. However, he had recently started to notice her as well, something she wished had never happened. Because as soon as he did, he started acting the same way he did when he was around Barbara. At first, it seemed like he was just being nice, but the way (Y/N) saw it, he was being a creep.
The young girl contemplated telling either of her brothers, even if they didn't speak unless they had to, she knew there was one thing they agreed on. Keeping her safe, that included keeping creeps away from her. However she didn't want to worry them, both of them had busy lives. Diluc was either working at Angel's Share or Dawn Winery, Kaeya, being the Calvary Captain usually had something to take care of. So in (Y/N)'s mind, it was best to just try and avoid Albert all together. At first it was easy enough, but he was becoming more persistent.
"Oh, would you like some help carrying that" the familiar voice reached (Y/N)'s ears. She cringed, looking to the side, as soon as she did, she spotted Albert standing there. (Y/N) felt a shiver of disgust go up her spine, but she did her best to hide it. She plastered a smile on her face, trying to be polite.
"No thank you, I can handle it" she spoke. Without another word, (Y/N) quickly made her way back to Dawn Winery. The first person that greeted her was Adaline.
"Is everything alright (Y/N)?" The woman asked, the young woman always appreciated Adaline, she was like a mom.
"I'm fine" she tried to play things off, she was able to go inside without too many questions which she was happy about.
----------------------------------------------------------
(Y/N) heard a knock on her bedroom door the next morning and when she opened it, she saw Diluc standing there. He had a serious expression on his face and his arms were crossed over his chest.
"What's going on?" He asked, (Y/N) looked up at her brother, a nervous expression on her face.
"I don't know what you're talking about" she spoke, trying to sound convincing.
"Adaline told me you were acting uncomfortable yesterday when you came back, is someone bothering you?" Diluc continued to question her. The young woman took a deep breath, she knew it was impossible to lie to him. She stayed quiet, but that's all Diluc needed to know he was right.
"Albert..." (Y/N) mumbled, her voice quiet. Diluc raised an eyebrow, silently telling her to speak up.
"Albert has been bothering me" she finally spoke in an audible voice. Diluc knew about Albert, and from what he had heard, he was a creep. He clenched his fist and nodded, his expression never changing.
"I see..." He spoke before turning and walking down the hallway. (Y/N) watched him walk away, looking nervous.
----------------------------------------------------------
(Y/N) was back in Mondstat, and oddly enough, Albert hadn't made an appearance. Suddenly, she spotted him looking around with a terrified expression on his face. Looking around, he locked eyes with her, his eyes going wide. To (Y/N)'s surprise, instead of approaching her, he ran off without saying anything. (Y/N) watched as he disappeared from view. Still, she was relieved to be left alone. Nearby, both Diluc and Kaeya sat at a table near Good Hunter with satisfied smiles on their faces. There was one thing the two of them could always agree on, no one messed with their sister.

You can totally ignore my idea lol but what about a fluffy/angsty fic about Steve Rogers or Bucky Barnes being turned into a baby/toddler by Tony on accident. But because they are babies they just want to be around and held by “Y/N” and get mad or throw a cute tantrum from lack of attention or if someone tries to hit on their “Y/N”. You can ignore this if it sounds idk weird or dumb lol but I thought it would be cute like they can’t hold back there affection for them while in baby form and when they turn back they are like well shit.. lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(PS: the fanart here is from Alexa_520 on Twitter I’m not sure if she has a tumblr but in case you or anyone wants to see it for yourself)
This is so cute!!!
Thank you for the idea. Here it goes. The story has little angst a bit.
Zero Crush.
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/N was on her way to go out for her day off. However, her plan got interrupted because the AI told her something at the lab. You almost lose your mind seeing both of your bosses turn into babies.
And now, she has to watch them. Y/N is okay with kids, but the problem is she has a little crush towards Captain America and The Winter Soldier.
Character: Steve Rogers x platonic!reader, Bucky Barnes x platonic!reader
Warning: If you squint a bit, there’s a little angst.

It's been a long time for Steve and Bucky to cry, even for crying their heart out to release all their feelings through tears.
“Waaaaa!”
“Aah…Ahh!”
The rest of the Avengers rubbed their eyes. They couldn't believe the strongest soldiers standing tall before, were shorter than them.
Steve and Bucky have turned into babies. They were standing too close to Tony and Bruce's new invention.
The high IQ bros try to copy the Pym-particles to shrink and increase an object.
"What kind of machine is that, Tony?!" Natasha pushed Tony away while he was still in shock.
"I'm trying to make a quantum machine like Ant-man. Look, it works!!! The box got small.” Tony pointed at the test object.
"Yeah, it’s obvious the zone needs to get fixed." Natasha carried Bucky to her arm. At the same time, Steve was taken by Clint. Steve wants to push Clint away because he stinks.
Bucky did the same towards Natasha; her perfume was too strong. Natasha couldn't help it since she just returned from her mission, and Clint was training when Tony called him.
Tony shook his head. "If Steve and Bucky didn't stand near the test object, they wouldn't get transformed."
Natasha wants to punch him. "You..!!"
All the adults are pointing at each other. At the same time, Steve and Bucky were confused. Since they're shorter than everyone and the mood in the room doesn't feel good, it makes them uncomfortable.
"Uuh…"
All of them stop arguing because they suddenly hear a sobbing voice.
"Hey, guys? Is everything alright?" You were preparing to go out since today is your day off. Before putting on sunscreen, F.R.I.D.A.Y informed you that something happened at the lab.
Nobody answered you, but from their face, you could say they were nervous.
Then you saw that Natasha and Clint have a baby in their arms.
"Ooh, so cute. Clint, you have a twin? Congrats." You know Clint is a family man, but it’s new for him to bring his kids to the headquarters.
Clint chuckled. "Y/N, you don't recognise him?"
"Huh?"
After he said that, you did notice something that felt familiar, but you can tell what it was. Blond hair, blue eyes, straight nose. Then you turn to Natasha. The baby has black hair and vibranium arms.
You gasped, “Oh my god!”
"Yaa! Yaa!" Steve stretched his short arms towards you. Clint gently put Steve on your arm.
“Why did you give him to me?” You nervously hold Steve. Even though he’s a baby now, he is still your boss. You turned to Tony. "You better fix this!!"
"On it."
Bucky saw Steve get carried by you. And he wants it, too. "Ahh…" He pulled Natasha's shirt and pointed at you.
"Even in baby form, you can't be separated from your best friend?"
Tumblr media
After everyone stops panicking, Tony wears his Iron suit and buys kid's clothes; perhaps he wants to run away. Bruce is fixing the machine, Clint went home to get toys for Steve and Bucky, and Natasha is helping you.
But you know Natasha just returned after a 3-month mission, and from her eyes, you could see she's damn tired. So you told her to rest.
In the end, there are two babies in your arms. You learn that Steve and Bucky are two years old and can walk alone.
You put them on the couch while you went to the fridge to make warm milk for them. You're not nervous taking care of little kids since you always cared for nieces and nephews before being accepted as a SHIELD agent.
But you’re nervous since you have a little crush towards your idols.
You're relieved to see milk inside the fridge. When you turn around to search for a pan, you're shocked not to see the two babies on the sofa.
Where are they?
Then you feel someone is watching you. You looked and saw Steve and Bucky looking at you.
You lean down and speak softly towards them, "I'm making warm milk for you both. Do you want some?"
Steve and Bucky nodded at the same time. With their fluffy cheeks and small body-like dumplings, you wouldn't believe they're the same boss who is deadly and righteous at the same time. You patted their head gently.
When the milk has warmed up, you give it to both. Steve and Bucky drink the warm milk. They widened their eyes when they tasted it. It's delicious.
In their eyes, you're the person they could look up to. You never raised your voice, and you gave them a delicious drink.
Is this what it feels like to have a big sister?
After 30 minutes, Tony returned with shopping bags from the kid's store.
"Give me the clothes. It needs to be cleaned first before they wear it." You received the bag from Tony. You look inside the bag and see there are pyjamas too.
"I'm going to the laundry room. Could you watch them for a while?"
"Sure."
Steve and Bucky didn't want to be left alone with Tony. Their short legs immediately run after you. Then, each of them hugs each of your legs.
Your body froze. You looked down at the little boys who held your legs, their two big eyes looking at you intensely.
You knew they didn't want to be left alone at this moment. "Umm, Tony, could you do the dirty laundry instead?"
Tony nodded his head. "Yup, the message is clear: both hate me."
Since then, both Steve and Bucky have followed you everywhere. They helped you when you made lunch. They wash all the veggies.
You chuckled, even though they turn into kids, they are always helping.
But no matter what, they're just a kid who needs attention. You learned that when eating together with them.
When you help to feed Bucky because of his metal arm, it doesn't seem like he can control his body.
Steve doesn't like to see Bucky get all your attention. He starts to make a noise and drops his spoon. "Ah..ahhh..."
Because of that, you feed them in turns.
And before they go to sleep, you want to read a bedtime story. You thought this would be easy since they didn't take a nap.
You were wrong. First, it was Steve's book choice; then, it was Bucky's. You should've said only one story but couldn't say no to them.
When they fell asleep, you slowly went out of the room. Finally, you could breathe. Even though you like kids, it takes time and energy.
But at least because of this, your secret crush towards your bosses is gone. Like 50% gone.
Before you join the Avengers, your HR has told you to keep everything professional. It's impossible not to like Captain America and The Winter Soldier.
At first, you saw them cute. But because their crying and whining hurt your eardrum, it shattered their perfect image in your brain.
You don't think you could wait for another day. You could handle terrorists, pirates, and aliens, but not kids. You wish Tony and Bruce could finish the machine quickly.
Tumblr media
It took three days to fix the machine. When Steve and Bucky return to their old self, they fall asleep to get checked first. After two hours, they finally woke up and searched for you.
"Ooh, you're looking for Y/N? I gave her a week off after caring for both of you."
Yes, you do. When Bruce said the machine worked fine without side effects, you immediately left the building and went to a bar.
At the bar, you gulped the second glass of beer. You sighed heavily since you realised you needed the strongest alcohol to erase the image from your mind of baby Steve Rogers and baby Bucky Barnes when they're crying, nagging and pulling your hair.
Their perfect image in your mind has been destroyed.

tsukishima seemed like he hated your guts. you had no idea why he did, but he acted kinder even to kageyama than he did with you. he was trying to ignore your existence all day everyday, also in every practice or during the school. he even refused to take any towels or water bottles from you if you offer him any since you're the manager of the team. you saw yamaguchi ask him why he's acting such a way with you many times but you never saw him reply, he usually just shook his head towards him and closed the topic. this became more and more disturbing as time went on because you had to communicate with him in order to help the team but he quite literally acted like he didn't want to see your face for another second.
"what are you guys talking about?" you asked when you saw hinata jumping up and down with nishinoya, too happy about something that they're talking about.
"we were planning to see this new movie coming out on the cinema tomorrow after the game if we win it as a celebration! you should also come with us, it's also your and kiyoko's effort as much as ours!" hinata said as pulled you and her towards the group.
"i'd love to, you all deserve a break after working so hard!" you smiled and hinata hugged your side tightly after hearing your answer. as for tsukishima, he didn't even feel the need to hide his discomfort. you could see his face drop from where you are very clearly after you said you'd be there. you stopped wanting to care a long while ago, but it still hurt everytime he behaved so horribly with you.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
expectedly, karasuno won their match with a great score, they topped off the amazing season they had this year with this victory. you also changed and waited until everyone was no longer sweaty or in their uniforms, and then left with the team and kiyoko to see the movie.
first you saw yamaguchi trying to speak to tsukishima, and then yamaguchi looking at you, and then back at kei. you didn't understand what it was all about but you didn't want to ask since you were sitting so far away from them in the table you decided to eat dinner before the movie.
a few minutes later, you saw hinata analyzing your face as you ate your dinner. "is there something on my face?" you turned to kiyoko and asked.
"not anything i can see." she gave you a weird look. "why?"
"why does that end of the table keep staring at me then?" you mumbled under your breath and tried to ignore them while munching on your remaining meal.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
it was either fate, or hinata and yamaguchi's doing that you somehow became seated next to kei in the movie. they probably just wanted you to start getting along with him but you hoped that they realize you didn't get along with him *because of him, not you! you tried your best for months, and he has only responded with a few rude looks or just once, mostly twice, disrespectful remarks to you.
just as you were about to ask someone to switch their seats with you, the movie's intro started rolling on the screen and the lights turned off. you sat there, unhappy with your positioning until after the break of the cinema. not exactly sure when, but sometime near the end, you got very bored of the movie playing in front of you and fell asleep.
that was fine for a while. that is, until you decided to turn around and put your head on kei's shoulder, not knowing it was him. if you weren't so tired and in need of sleep, you would have woken up by how much your action startled him. he probably knew how much you needed that sleep too, so he didn't move or tell you to wake up and lift your head. you slept peacefully until the end of the movie when the lights turned back on. when you realized whose shoulder your head was on, you quickly lifted your head up and apologized.
"i'm so sorry tsukishima, why didn't you wake me up or move my head? you must've felt uncomfortable." you pouted. why were you still thinking about how he felt when he's been nothing near polite to you for the whole semester?
"it's fine, i didn't mind it. i knew you were really tired so i didn't want to wake you up, i wasn't uncomfortable." he answered quietly, surprising you.
"thank you, i'm sorry again, if i made you uncomfortable. is your arm okay? i think my head is kind of heavy..."
"yeah, my arm's fine. and no, your head's not heavy." you smiled at his answer, which seemed like it made him blush. (you chose not to comment on it though.)
neither of you spoke for a while and you just watched the others talk about how good the ending of the movie was. "your hair smells nice." he broke the silence with his comment.
"thanks! it's the shampoo from -brand name-." you smiled, and you didn't talk to him any more that night afterwards. he only smiled back at you, which was probably the kindest thing he had ever been towards you, and you both went on with your own days. if you paid more attention to what was happening behind you, you would see hinata and yamaguchi nudging the others to look at your interaction after trying so hard to get you guys to talk properly.
although if you had been rewarded with a chance to see the future months ago, you would have fallen asleep on his shoulder way back then.

THE SMELL OF SMOKE FILLED HER NOSE AS SHE SAT NEAR THE BONFIRE. You were focused up in the stars, trying to saturate your mind on something other than anxiety. These past couple of months have been exhausting to say the least. You still had her guard up, always sleeping with one eye open. Even after John B told you it was going to be fine, words could only do so much to ease her anxieties.
Everyone was asleep and you were the only one awake; or so you thought. “What are you doin’ up?”
You slightly flinched before realizing it was only JJ. You eased your muscles, sighing before relaxing. “I can’t sleep.”
You looked up at the tall blonde as he sat down on the sand next to you, his baby blue eyes looking into yours.
He hummed in response, before nodding and looking away. You always have had sleep issues, even when they were kids.
He fondly remembers the late nights with John B trying to lull you back to sleep. He also remembers the fact he could put you to sleep faster than anyone. John B always said he was the ‘Y/N whisperer’. But the truth was, JJ was just JJ and for some odd reason, you had always felt safe when you were with him. If someone asked when you started feeling this odd sense of safety, you wouldn’t know because you always just have. JJ always had that comforting feel to you.
Your insomnia worsened after your father had gone missing, rightfully so. Your guard has been up since the day your father left. And no one but JJ could comfort, even your own brother.
“Yeah, me too.”
They sat in silence before he spoke up again, “let’s walk.”
You nodded in agreement, getting up with JJ.
Side by side, they started walking the beaches of Poguelandia. The late hours of the night were her favorite and she always admired dark skies filled with beautiful stars and even more breathtaking moon. She was always a night owl, preferring the quiet hours of the night.
JJ admired you under the bright moonlight, slightly smiling.
A blush came onto his cheeks. JJ had always adored Y/N, even when they were kids. He always had a protective nature over you, wanting to take you out of harm’s way no matter what. Especially when John B had gone missing, JJ had felt like it was his job to make sure you’re safe for John B. But somewhere along the way that adoration turned into a crush and now, JJ can’t stop thinking about you.
You looked so gorgeous under the bright cast of the moon and JJ couldn’t help but staring. He couldn’t even think straight as he looked at you.
You turned, meeting his gaze and laughing slightly. “What are you smiling about?”
JJ’s eyes widened; he forgot he was in real life for a second there, zoning out on your dreamlike features. He shook his head and looked down at the sand and shrugged. “Nothing.”
You furrowed your eyebrows, suddenly feeling insecure. You looked down at the sand, trying to ignore the weird feeling in your stomach.
Your old crush had come back and suddenly you were back at the chateau, crying in your bedroom because JJ had brought another girl over again. You had always felt insecure, especially compared to JJ’s exes.
JJ had felt the shift in atmosphere, he mirrored your confused expression. Sudden worry filled his system. “What’s wrong?”
You shook your head, not wanting to bring up the fact that you’re feeling insecure over something so small. “Nothing.”
JJ stopped walking and grabbed her arm, bringing you to look up at him. “No, tell me.”
“No, it’s fine. It’s stupid.”
“If I did something, tell me, I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable or anything-”
“JJ, no, no.” You shook your head, You sighed and avoided his gaze. “You were just staring and maybe you noticed one of my pimples or something. And I haven’t shaved in like-”
JJ laughed and shook his head as Y/N spoke and she halted her speech and scoffed. He immediately felt guilty and shook his head, “No, Y/N-”
“You’ve said enough, JJ-”
“Are you serious?” It was JJ’s time to scoff now. You morph your face into annoyance and shake your head in agreement.
“Yes, JJ, I’m allowed to feel insecure when you literally stare at my face-”
He laughed again, “you? Insecure?”
“Yes, JJ.” You said simply before rolling your eyes and sighing, “you know what, I’m tired, so I’m just gonna head to bed.” You started walking away.
He suddenly felt stupid and he sighed before running up to catch up with you. When he did, you did your best to ignore him. He hurt your feelings and you were going to give him the cold shoulder until he apologizes.
“Y/N, I’m sorry.”
Well, that was fast.
You sighed and crossed your arms, turning to face the blonde.
“You misunderstood me, I meant… It’s ridiculous that you feel insecure.” You couldn’t help but roll your eyes. JJ sighed and shook his head, he was always bad at explaining his feelings. Especially when it was his feelings for you. He took a minute to try to figure what to say and you felt impatient.
“You’re the prettiest girl I have ever seen.” He whispered; anyone not directly in front of him couldn’t hear it. You almost missed it with the waves crashing, and even then, you thought you misheard him. He bashfully looked away, directing his eyes to the sand below them.
“Wait, what?”
He felt even more stupid now, sighing. You were going to tell John B and he was going to kill him if he didn’t just drown himself before John B had a chance to.
“You don’t have to lie, I mean-”
JJ groaned, “God, shut up. I wouldn’t lie. You know I can’t lie to you.”
“So, you really think I’m pretty?”
JJ nodded. “Who wouldn’t?”
“JJ, don’t joke around right now.”
“I wouldn’t joke about that, Y/N. Why can’t you just take a compliment?” JJ was annoyed at how oblivious you were acting. “Y/N, you have to be joking. How could you not tell I’ve had a crush on you for like, two years now!”
He was frustrated but as soon as those words came out, he shut right back up. He just confessed his crush to you and you looked like you had just seen a ghost.
JJ looked just as you were. Was he joking around? “JJ, how couldn’t you tell that I’ve liked you since we were kids?” You finally replied and he had the same reaction as you.
“You’ve liked me since we were kids?”
You nodded. Now, you were both the oblivious ones. You and JJ sat in silence for a good minute before JJ spoke up again.
“We’re both so stupid.”
You nodded again. “Yeah, we are.”
JJ looked down at you, a smile making its way onto his lips. Suddenly, the quiet night had become much louder for the both of you; your mind's racing with possibilities. JJ was always a reckless, YOLO kind of person, but with you, he always wanted to take his time and be patient.
You were thinking of how perfect this night turned out, staring at JJ’s features, admiring them and taking them in. You weren’t sure of most things, but one thing you knew for absolute fact: You loved JJ Maybank. Your mind stopped racing but one thought lingered.
You put your hand on his cheek, feeling his warmth as you kept looking between his eyes and pink lips. You both slowly started leaning in and you connected lips.
It was a slow, patient kiss - like JJ had imagined, but this time it wasn’t imaginary. JJ couldn’t help but think about what they'd been through these past couple of months but he always had comfort in the fact you were right beside him.
You were thinking the exact same things, and up until the moment you had connected lips you’d regretted everything. The regret slowly vaporized into the kiss because every bad thing had led up to this, and suddenly, it wasn’t so bad now that you had finally gotten your award.

Slow Nights
A/n in a bit of a jason todd mood and i’ve been dealing with the writers block that comes from going through a rough couple of days, so i’m just going with the flow!
also i feel like the fic world has shifted away from first person, but i was in the mood for it and i write to improve and felt like working on my first person voice😭 pls forgive me
Summary: There are a lot of risks that come from being a female waitress at a small diner in Gotham. You didn’t realize that one of them would be developing a small crush cautious friendship with the intimidating, broody guy that keeps weird hours and always squeezes himself into the smallest booth near the window with a paper back.
----
Appreciate the slow nights. That’s what Marta said before my first closing shift, when it was just the two of us and the long window that displayed a nearly empty street. I understood instantly. In Gotham, nothing’s guaranteed. Most criminals--petty or psychotic supervillain--don’t have the decency to wait until nightfall for their crimes. But there’s something about working until 3 AM that’s eerie, like you’re daring some testosterone fueled, ego maniac that’s had a little too much to drink to do rob you. Or worse.
“You think anyone would notice if we closed early?” It’s not an actual offer, just part of our routine. I ask this question anytime between 1:00 and 2:00 and Marta pretends to contemplate as she wipes down a counter or sweeps or does anything she can to keep busy. Her answer is always something about how Bobby, the owner, has a sixth sense about these kind of things or some other kind of joke that makes Bobby seem like the bottom line obsessed ass he is.
She lets out a small sound at the back of her throat, ending her dutiful organization of plastic protected menus. “I think that boyfriend of yours would.”
The comment strikes a nerve deep in my stomach. An uncomfortable warmth begins to spread through my face. The fact that she’s straying from her usual joke to poke fun at that amplifies the message. The twitch of her mouth tells me she knows exactly what she’s done. “Oh, he is not--” She’s oddly smug for someone who’s always giving me a warning look when I linger around a certain table too long, a kind of worry that’s so distinctly grandmotherly I can feel the silent warnings against my skin. “He’s a costumer, a regular. That’s it.”
“Your customer,” her eyes are back on her menus, two of them are stuck together, “Your regular.” She pushes the nail of her thumb between the edge of the barriers. They let go of each other with a soft pop.
Maybe I always take Jason’s table, but it’s only because everyone else was too scared to at first and now it’s just...routine. Like Marta and I pretending we’d close more than a few minutes early or the way that Adam, my least favorite closing shift partner, never sweeps correctly and always tries to find an excuse to walk me to my car. “Only because everyone else is too scared to talk to him.”
She hums once, low and disbelieving. “Okay, because you know he--” I frown as Marta struggles to find the words. A part of me wants to tell her she doesn’t need to bother. I know because despite all the teasing, she sees him almost as much as I do. Jason comes in and he’s a living canvas of deep blues and sick yellows and the kind of crimson that has to be fresh.
That’s what initially broke the ice between us. Marta stayed behind the counter and when I finally walked up to his booth, the first thing I noted was the bloody knuckles and the Jane Austen paperback. He asked for a coffee, black. I brought it to him, along with a damp rag and a few bandaids from the first aid kit in the back. I didn’t think about how weird and kind of silly that was until I was at his table. Taking it back to the kitchen after he had seen it felt even more pathetic so I silently set them down next to the coffee. He barely nodded in acknowledgement before turning to his book.
When I came back to bring him his check, he looked particularly annoyed as he stared at the pages in front of him. For a second, the potential aggression turned my blood to ice. Awkwardly, I noted the cover and how far into the book he was, so I nervously mumbled the first thing I thought of. “Darcy, right?” He had looked surprised and I quickly jumped to defend myself, “You just um--you look like you’re around the proposal scene and for me, at least, it’s um--it’s equally bad every time.”
That got his expression to soften a little, enough for him to ask how I had managed to figure out where he was based on his facial expression and how open his book was. After that, it was something else, something that went on until closing and ended with a 20$ tip and a walk to my car.
 “You’re too smart for that, Mija.”
Marta’s words bring me back. I nod, the motion hollow. The quick acceptance leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. It’s a betrayal even though Marta didn’t really say anything and nothing she implied was factually wrong. Defensiveness immediately tries to crawl its way out of my throat. There’s a lot I could tell her. It might be so normal for Jason to have his knuckles split that the one time he didn’t, I teased him about it until he threatened to leave early and never come back, but he’s not whatever violence he won’t explain and I won’t ever ask about without a joke barrier for safety. He’s that one smile that makes you feel like you’ve earned something; and the jokes that kind of take you by surprise because you wouldn’t expect someone so physically intimidating to have a sense of humor that lighthearted; and he’s the books he reads, tears through so quickly he almost always has a new cover when he comes in.
“Yeah,” I mumble, trying to convince myself that this isn’t the betrayal it feels like, “He’s just a regular that’s nice to talk to. It’s not like I ask him to come in or anything.” It’s not like I could, considering I have no way of contacting him. It’s not like he’s a friend I could text.
The familiar creek of the front door’s tired hinges has Marta raising her eyebrows at me. A customer...around 2 AM...as we’re talking about Jason. There’s a silent understanding between us and the look she gives me isn’t subtle. We both know exactly who it is, so I push myself away from the kitchen counter we’ve been leaning against and grab a pot of coffee before placing a hand on the door that leads to the counters.
“You ever think the stale coffee isn’t what he comes in for?”
I still, the words rolling in my chest uncomfortably because the thought doesn’t bother me. At all. I push past the door before she can gage my reaction.
He’s already in his usual seat--the farthest booth in the back, right next to the window. “Y’know the other day this family came in, three toddlers they could barely keep track of and a newborn in a stroller and the mom trying to get all their orders while the dad filled out the crossword on his phone.” I start pouring the coffee before I’ve even looked at him. “And the part I was most offended by was that he was sitting right there.”
Jason’s watching me carefully, the curve of his lips gentle, “How dare he?”
I look up, setting the pot on the table next to his cup. Even though I can practically feel Marta’s gaze on us, I can’t help but indulge in this part of our usual exchange. The moment in which I let myself really look at him, examining each part of his face for new or healing bruises or scratches carefully.
There’s only one particularly notable mark, but this one is intense, right beneath an eye that’s clearly swollen. “Right?” I force my eyes to focus on anything else.  “We should put up a sign.”
“VIP treatment,” there’s a shift in his tone that I feel more than hear, a precursor to some comment that toes the line between friendly and something else, “You saying I’m your favorite?”
He tilts his head slightly, eyes watching my expression with a carefulness that’s tangible. That’s part of how he plays into the space between casual and flirty, through the small things. “Well, you are my best tipper.”
Jason frowns, pushing himself a little further into his seat as if physically moved by his offense. “So that’s all I’m good for?”
I roll my eyes, ignoring the dangerous warmth settling in my chest. “You never stop me when I start talking about books, so I guess you’re good for that, too.”
“You guess?”
Scoffing, I let my attention fall to the seat across from him. It’s not like I sit with him every time he comes in, if he comes in during daylight hours it’s usually impossible. But nights are different...
Marta’s words come back, a little heavier now.
Jason takes a quick sip of his coffee and looks over at the space in front of him. “...You guys busy?”
There’s something there, trying to hide in the way the sentence comes out. The glue that holds us together is the unspoken-ness of all of it. He never mentions the bandaids and wet rags I bring when he needs them unless he’s making a joke about it. And I never bring up the regularity of his presence.
“Oh, yeah,” I joke, moving to sit across from him, “You should know how busy 2AM is for us by now.” I tap my nails against the surface of the table. “We might have to move you.”
Jason lets out a small sound that’s somewhere between a scoff and a laugh. “Thought this was my table?”
I shrug, trying my best to not seem too amused. “You were getting too comfortable.” He keeps one hand on the table, relaxing in his seat as he waits for me to continue. “Can’t have you thinking I like you or anything.”
He inhales, letting the silence between us linger. There’s a fragile quality to the space between words that has me focusing on his physical appearance again. I did miss something. Not a bruise or a cut, but the bags beneath his eyes that seem deeper today than they usually are and the shadow tainting his expression and the fact that he hasn’t even mentioned the book he brought in with him.
“I believe you.”
I roll my eyes at his sarcasm because I’m supposed to. There’s no place for that kind of worry, no where for it all to go. He’s just someone that comes in for his coffee. Just someone that keeps me company during closing and sometimes makes a boring afternoon shift more entertaining. “Shut up.”
Jason doesn’t immediately jump to push at what’s clearly a hollow response. The silence eases itself back into existence. Normally lulls like this make me feel flighty or like I need to say anything to make sure I’m not the awkward one. But there’s no stiffness that I feel the need to fight against, it’s just us.
Even though Marta’s definitely only pretending not to watch us as she wipes down the counter that I already cleaned, it really is just me and him, and when it’s like that, it’s easy to talk. Sure, we wrap the layers of heavier stuff in layers of teasing fluff and bad jokes, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there.
“That eye makes you a little hard to look at.”
He scoffs, his lips pulling downwards. “Ouch. That hurt worse than the punch, sweetheart.”
My nose wrinkles. “Did not.”
“Bruised feelings are--”
I groan before he can get the rest of his words out, “Do not say ‘as bad as a bruised face’.”
Jason’s mouth stays partially open, like the second half of his sentence hasn’t realized that it has no where to go. There’s something kind of funny about easily over 6′, looks like he belongs in some kind of alley Jason glaring at me like an offended goldfish. “You’re mean.”
“And you’re cheesy,” I counter, leaning a little closer as my forearms relax on the table, “I’m just saying you need to take better care of your face, it’s one of your better qualities.”
Oh no. The realization that I’ve made a mistake doesn’t settle until the words are already out of my mouth. Jason’s relaxed posture as he reaches for his coffee makes it clear that he’s noticed, too. I blink, pained at the realization that there’s no where to backtrack to.
He takes a long sip of dark liquid before setting the cup between us. “One of my better qualities?”
The nail of my thumb presses into the wood of the table. “Okay, I said ‘your face was one of your better qualities’, it’s not like I called you hot.”
Jason smiles in a way that’s so damn knowing, “I know.”
“Then why are you smiling?”
He shrugs, still too amused, “Maybe I missed you.”
That’s...new. Sure, he’s been gone for a few days but that’s nothing crazy. It wasn’t even the longest stretch of time he’s disappeared for. All that matters is that Jason’s here more days than he’s not. All that matters is that he eventually comes back and things always feel like he never left.
Part of the reason that it works so seamlessly is because we never talk about his absence (with the exception of me making a joke that must have been cheating on me and him swearing he could never). I never mention that when he does come back, he usually has more marks on his skin than usual...or the fact that I worry.
“Maybe I missed you, too.” It feels like a confession, a weight peeling itself off of my chest. “Even though you’re a total dork.”
“I’m the dork?”
“The ‘one black coffee’ order is trying way too hard for you not to be.” It’s an argument we’ve had before. Black coffee with no additives in the middle of the night, like he’s working at being mysterious even though he cracks open as easily as whatever book he’s reading.
He sits up a little straighter, an argument that likely insults my coffee order clearly ready. The squeak of the front door’s hinges steal the spotlight before Jason can get it out.
I turn my head, looking past the booth and down the aisle. A group of four guys have already stumbled in. I instinctually stand. One of the guys is laughing, slurring out some story I can’t make out as his friend tries to push off of his shoulder as he sways. The shortest starts to laugh as well, punching his friend in the arm as he gestures vaguely towards me. Great.
“We’re closing.” Marta’s voice is firm as she makes her presence clear.
“You close at 3:00,” the tallest one challenges her, stepping further into the space, “That’s what it says on the door...and...” He makes a show of turning over his wrist and checking his watch, “It’s only...2:53.” The number comes out so slurred it twists in my stomach. He shuffles towards the counter, a look that’s too sharp to not feel sober taking over his expression, “That’s not a problem, is it?”
“It’s fine.” My lips press together after the sentence, hoping that Marta feels safe enough to stay out of it. “I’ll seat them.”
I grab a few menus from the hostess counter that Marta stocked for the morning shift. I lead them to the first table that’s angled away from the counter. Marta’s jumpy and not always good at hiding it. Besides, I like the thought of anything shady happening farther from Marta. She has some issues with her right knee and she refuses to get it looked at. If things ever came down to running...
I force the thought out of my head as I set a menu down in front of the seats.
“Thank you, love.” The tall one--when did he get so close.
I nod once, attempting a polite smile that hopefully hides my nerves as I try to side step around him. The back of my arm hits something firm. “Woah.” Something squeezes my shoulder and my entire body turns to stone. “Pretty thing like you shouldn’t be so jumpy.”
The taller one angles his body to the left, subtly blocking off my original plan of escape. Part of Marta’s face is blocked by the man’s shoulder, but I can still make out her concern. Her lips part and I want her help as much as I dread it.
“Hey, babe--” Jason. The strangers, weirdly aware for how inebriated they seemed earlier, take their time looking at Jason. They take him and the implication of his presence in quickly. I’m released at a speed that I can barely register. Even the tallest one takes a step back to give me the space to breathe. “You almost done?”
Even though the babe clued me into his strategy almost immediately (Jason’s nicknames choices are usually more creative), it takes a second for my thoughts to catch up with the rest of me. “Yeah, after them we should be good to go home.”
Jason takes his time looking over at each of the strangers in a way that could pass as casual if it wasn’t for the lock of his jaw. Maybe if I wasn’t used to him, used to the way he looks when we debate plot points and recommend music to each other, his expression would seem less distinct. But I do know him, know the way he tends to shrink in on himself when little kids are running around the diner so he doesn’t seem overly intimidating.
“Take your time,” he finally manages, attention falling back to me. I’m so distracted by the tension melting in my stomach that I barely register Jason moving towards me. I don’t know what he’s doing until his arm’s comfortably wrapped around my shoulders. Something in my chest jumps. I don’t think we’ve ever touched before. “I can be here all night.”
He’s so warm. “Shouldn’t be long, babe.”
“Hm.” He gives my shoulder one last, assuring squeeze before stepping back. He doesn’t go far, sitting at the counter instead of his usual seat in the back. Less than a foot away.
Jason’s proximity gives me the confidence to go through the whole waitress bit, “Can I get you guys started with something to drink?”
The tall one looks over at his friends, awkwardly clearing his throat before saying, “Could we just get some waters to go? I’d hate to keep you past closing.”
I now get the concept of scary dog privileges better than ever before. “Yeah, we can do that.”
The excuse to get behind the counter, back to Jason and Marta is unbelievably relieving. I’m there in almost an instant. Marta’s already pouring water into to-go cups.
“You okay?” Jason’s voice is low, eyes so soft it’s hard to believe that a second ago he was intimidating to anyone.
I nod once, “Yeah.” And I really am. The group was menacing and they got a little close than most creepy guys do, but it’s not the first time a group of guys found entertainment in terrorizing a waitress at the end of a long night out. “Drunk assholes are just a...work hazard.”
My attempt to brush off the incident doesn’t seem to work. Instead of easing, Jason’s jaw locks again. “That happen a lot?”
I shrug, kind of regretting saying anything. It’s not like I’m constantly in danger, but waitresses are easy prey. They have to be somewhat nice to you and they’re stuck in place. And we’re in Gotham, any type of assault case is low on the authority’s priority list, which makes it low risk. “You’re here most nights, Jay, you know it’s usually empty.”
He nods once, the motion stiff. His unasked question sits between us: what about when I’m not here? I don’t want to get into the whole thing, so maybe it’s a good thing I have to go back and give the guys their waters. It’ll give me a chance to regroup an go back to something lighter. Those guys and all this tension have taken enough of our reunion away from us.
I look over at the counter and the styrophone cups are gone. The one time I want an excuse to walk away from Jason is the one time Marta goes out of her way to leave us alone.
Marta re-enters the space behind the counter. “They paid, they’re leaving.” As if on cue, the door’s signature squeak overlaps with the last syllable. “And we’re finally closed.”
“Finally.”
With no warning, Jason leans over the counter and grabs a napkin off of the stack kept next to the soda machine. “You have a pen?”
What? Before I can ask where the sudden urge to draw something came from, Marta wordlessly hands over the pen attached to her apron. That level of acknowledgement from her throws me through a loop. Technically, she’s not even working anymore so the pen thing was completely voluntary.
Jason accepts her offer slowly, as if worried that there’s a chance he’ll startle her and force her to either run off or stab him. Marta does give the energy that she could either way.
“What are you doing?” He doesn’t even have the decency to look up at me in acknowledgement. “Are you trying to draw their faces from memory in case they need--”
Jason slides over the napkin wordlessly so that 10 evenly written digits face me, two dashes dividing the numbers into two segments of three and one of four. A phone number. “This is--”
“If anyone like that shows up again, you can text me and I’ll...I’ll be there as soon as I can.”
The confirmation that this is his phone number hits me straight in the chest, and the reasoning behind the gesture forces the feeling to linger. Here’s Jason, always careful to never reveal too much about himself and he’s...he’s trusting me. I turn my head enough to look at Marta, who just nods patiently. That’s different.
I pick up the napkin like it might dissolve into nothing between my fingertips. “So basically I call if I have a problem, and you come and beat it up.”
“Basically.”
I stare at the number again, studying the surprising neatness of the line they’re in like it can reveal something new about the person that wrote them. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but the gesture feels heavy. “Thanks.”
Jason briefly angles his chin downwards in a subtle version of a nod, “Don’t mention it.” He probably means that literally, so I just set the napkin back down and fold it neatly. “Anything for my fake girlfriend.”
“Fake girlfriend of two minutes.”
He leans a little closer, “A natural two minutes.”
I don’t even try to disguise my probably too smug laugh, “For you, maybe.”
“You caught on a little fast.” I narrow my eyes. “Leaned into--”
“I think the person that gave you that black eye also gave you brain damage.” The jokes are easy to not to mind when they’re about him being obsessed with me, not the other way around.
Jason presses his lips together in what could be either an attempt at sulking or scowling, it’s hard to tell with his eyes that soft. “It’s like being punched again.”
“Dramatic.” I fight to keep my expression flat as I step back from the counter. “I’m gonna change and grab my bag, then you can walk me to my car.”
He scoffs, a brief puff of air that’s pretending to be more annoyed than it is. “Someone’s bossy.”
I turn towards the door that leads to a small break room, “Fake boyfriend duties.”
The door to the break room shuts before he can say anything else. I put the napkin Jason gave me into my bag before changing out of my uniform and into sweats. Normally, knowing that I don’t have to work for two days is nothing but relieving. It’s still a relaxing thought, but something about it also makes me feel like I’m stuck. Maybe it’s the fact that Jason just came back and the next time I work will be a lunch shift--which is, for whatever reason, the shift he’s least likely to crash.
I won’t see or talk to him for a few days, and that’s long enough for him to disappear again. More days, more weeks.
Forcing those thoughts down somewhere deep, I roll my shoulders before grabbing my bag and shutting my locker. We still have the moments that take to get to my car, and that’s all whatever friendship we have is...tiny moments.
“Okay,” I announce my return to the main area, “You ready?”
He’s already standing, the book we never got to held loosely in one hand. “I was waiting for you.”
I hold my hands up in defense even though this is far from his most annoyed response. “Someone’s moody.”
He sighs, taking a step towards me. I barely have the chance to pull my bag off of me before Jason hooks a finger around it’s strap. He swings it onto his shoulder easily. the walk to the parking lot is short, but Jason always takes my bag. I’m not sure how it started, but like most of us, it happened on accident and stuck.
“Moody?”
The word is repeated back to me with an offense that’s punctuated by a hint of surprise. It’s a fair reaction. Now that I’m thinking about it, the word feels like it’s underserving him. It’d be easy to take in Jason’s general vibe and sum him up as mostly angsty or just another tough guy born on the streets of Gotham.
We reach the door. “Eh...you’ve got layers.”
He almost smiles, “Really?” I can feel his smugness growing and I’m glad that I’m in a position to open the door and step away from it. My hand moves forward. Jason shifts, angling himself in a way that leaves me still. He’s not blocking my escape, not really, but the implication of how close he’s standing is enough to make me still. “What are they?”
The air in my lungs jams itself in my throat mid breath.
“I’m ready to lock up if--” Marta stops halfway between the tables and the door. Something about her expression makes proximity that felt innocent moments before off. “If you’re ready to go.”
“Uh--yeah,” I hum, placing a hand on the door, “I’m--yeah, I’m--” I push the front door open as if that will prove my point, “We’re good.”
Marta nods slowly, “Okay.”
I walk out and Jason follows. After a second, Marta appears behind us. She mumbles a general goodnight instead of pointedly tacking my name onto it before getting into her car and driving off.
Jason opens my car door for me. I get in, take my bag back, and turn on my car even though Jason’s still standing there and the door’s still open. “Your tire pressure--”
I shake my head dismissively, ignoring the symbol that’s lit up on my dashboard. “I’m getting to it.” He gives me a look and I sigh. “I’ll go this week, mom.”
“Funny.” He leans closer to my car with no warning, head peaking in to examine my dash. Nosy.
“Relax, I got my oil changed.”
He eases a bit at that, moving back to where he was before. “After I told you to for a week.”
“It was not a week.” It did come close, though. It was getting close to the end of the semester and my car wasn’t a priority. Plus, Jason’s lectures about it were a little entertaining and gave me another piece of information to file away about him. “Maybe I liked your car rants.”
“Yeah?”
I shrug, relaxing into my seat, “You knew a lot of technical words.”
The corner of his mouth turns up slightly, “So that’s what you’re into?”
“You wish,” my return is a little slower, the early stages of drowsiness finally getting a chance to catch up to me now that things are calm.
Jason frowns, eyes lingering on my expression. I guess I don’t pass his inspection because he says, “You should get home.”
I nod, hoping no disappointment is visible on my face. “Yeah, it is kinda late.” My hand finds the handle of the car’s door. “See you around, dork.”
Jason throws me a look, half glaring, “Night, loser.”
With one last look, I shut the door. I turn my attention to the steering wheel. Just drive. A part of me wants to linger, to maybe say something else. But there’s nothing else.
In an attempted compromise, I reach into my bag and pull out the napkin. The numbers aren’t as easy to make out in the dark, so I have to squint to type them into my phone. This is normal. I mean, I might have a reason to text him later and if he doesn’t know that this is my number, he might ignore it or miss it or--
Ugh. Before I can over think it, I type a short text: it’s Y/n. Even though there’s no way for that to come off as weird, I’m glad I have an excuse to shove my phone back into my bag and not look at it for at least 15 minutes.
----
This bag should be called the black hole, because the moment you need something, it’s swallowed into an abyss. I’ve found multiple sticks of gum, a handful of change, and a chapstick I thought I lost weeks ago, but not my keys.
I sigh, picking up my phone so that I can use the flashlight. Before I can swipe to get the option, my attention shifts to the recent notifications. Two texts my phone has labeled as being from maybe: Jason. The first his just his name. The second is a longer message saying that I already knew that, because he’s the one that gave me this number. It’s a distinction that’s so specific and particular it’d feel a little awkward coming from anyone else.
I let myself think about it for a second before swiping the message open. I type out a reply before erasing it. Another moment of deliberation passes before the words come to me. I type it out and hit send in the same breath. You’re lucky you’re pretty.
I drop my phone back into my bag and shift around the contents. The void must have taken another victim, because it’s finally spit up my keys.

A/n i could see myself making a part 2 to this where this reader meets redhood and doesnt know its jason bc i was originally going to make this longer, but idk!

The Christmas dinner that year had a gloomy aura. And everyone pointed the finger at your miserable frown and lost eyes, and of course the big sign above your head with bold crimson letters, ‘heartbroken’. Most of them cataloged you as selfish and whiny; why bring your long face to such sweet festivitie? As if you wanted to have those judging eyes all over you, as if you wanted to be there.
You’ll have a few spoonfuls of whatever that doesn’t trigger your desires for throwing up. Maybe you’ll still do, since your emotions are tied up in knots in your stomach.
Poor of them if they dare to ask you how it all started…
Steadying your breathing, you tried to locate your friend without success. She isn't there, because if she’s not early, then she’s not attending. Resigned and a bit anxious, you decided to take a seat. Alone.
The professor just walked in. “Page number 58” Was all she said.
A ragged breathing and faint footsteps caught your attention and your eyes followed the sound to found one of the most eccentric sixth graders. The blond one, well blond, you weren’t sure—his hair resembled the warmest sand. And he was always hurt, a few scars marring his soft skin. You didn’t like to stare. But you had seen him before, of course, he was in that group—the marauders, as they’d named themselves.
He sat beside you. Trying to tame his breathing, he wiped a few beads of sweat from his forehead. His darkish hazel eyes found yours, by his expression you knew he didn’t recognize you. It’s okay, so you smiled, and he did his best to try to imitate you. Maybe he wasn’t very used to smiling at strangers? But there was something else. His constant movements and his wandering eyes were screaming something that wasn’t your business to translate.
But there you were, concerned, once more, by a stranger who didn’t even knew who you were.
“Are you alright?” You whispered to him, and he turned his face towards yours, what it felt like a whiplash. He had piercing eyes and an expression shouting “lunatic”. But he ends up nodding.
It’s weak. And you’ll curse yourself until your death for scavenging into your pocket for a piece of chocolate. “On bad days I like to have one of these. Not much but they’re delicious” You offered to him, and he was clearly confused. How could you mind if you knew he was a troubled soul? “It’s yours” It’s the confirmation he needs to accept it, after all, he just cataloged you as nice, bit weird tho.
This time his faint grin matched his eyes. It isn’t uncomfortable to watch. “Thanks”
He looks hesitant to eat it, but ends up devouring the small theat. It was his favorite flavor. He isn’t searching for new friends but in that second, even if it sounds pathetic, he thinks you’ll be a good friend.
The boy clears his throat, startling you, so you shoot him a look. He’s fine, and he mutters, “Oh, uhm,” He’s looking at your possessions scattered around your open book, searching for a name. And you don’t have a problem understanding what he meant.
With a smile, you say your name.Then you pointed at the forgotten aluminum wrapper tossed on the table, near his own open book. “It’s good, right?”
He finds himself surprised. He felt caught and he doesn’t even know why. “Oh, yeah, it’s perfect, it's not about this… I was wondering, ubm” He’s not usually this awkward, he’d built a confident façade over the years. This was just the full moon’s residue. “Do you have… Can you lend me your last week’s homework? … Please?”
You nodded, almost too excited. Not a lot of people asked for your homework. It’s dumb to feel proud. It’s stupid to feel great because you’re being needed by a stranger that probably is about to forget your name.
“Oh, yeah, of course, you’re lucky she didn’t give us much…”
It's okay to regret that pivotal moment when you saw someone crumbling before your eyes, despite your good intentions. You couldn’t despise Remus, he just opened a door but you shouldn’t have entered into his world. Introducing you to the raven-haired boy was his doing but it was your fault to fall for his empty words and ghostly promises and with it, you destroyed everything.
His laugh makes your heart flutter, but you won’t admit it, not now. “Do you have something to do this weekend?” He inquiries, looking down at you with his bright grey eyes and a playful grin.
You held his stare, as you enjoyed searching for undiscovered eye’s details or marks across his face.
“Oh, no, not really…” There’s a beat of silence. Sirius is about to open his mouth, but you formulate a quick question to rescue you from the second hand embarrassment. “What about you? And the boys?”
He frowns, it’s subtle, but still noticeable. “I don’t know about the boys… not really” There's another awkward pause, which seems to drag on and yet is over too quickly. This is far easier for him, you should’ve known. “I was wondering that, because I think it would be great if we go out… to Hogsmeade, together?”
Oh, there are birds chirping in your heart so loud you could hear them. “Yeah, absolutely” You tried to not smile too big, too enthusiastically. It’s pointless, you don’t really want to hide what’s happening inside you, but you’re afraid too.
Now you know you shouldn’t have to accept it, you shouldn’t have jumped into his sticky, harmful webs.
That day you gave him your best smile, your best content eyes. Your softest tone. “We’re going to have a really great time!”
In the present day, and far away from that memory, you understood why your friends hated him so much, even if at the start he hadn’t technically done anything wrong. They knew. Maybe you knew too, but choose blindness.
You thought you'd never understand how things changed so fast, the thing is they didn’t. It was subtle, almost unnoticeable how everything was much more vivid and tender than everything before he asked you to be his girlfriend under the beating sun of august. Everything after felt like a weird, gloomy dream.
“I’m sorry I didn’t think you’ll care that much” He had the cheek to shrug.
Your face softened, no longer holding a frown. Angry melted into disappointment. “Of course I care…” Your voice is delicate and he felt like the worst human on earth.
“Don’t make that face,”
Swallowing a knot in your throat, you gather the strength to speak your mind. Fighting how afraid you’re to mess up the relationship. “Siri, it’s just—You know I, we see each other almost everyday and I don’t—I can’t understand why.” You paused to take a breath, to stabilize yourself, to not go to dark places of your mind. It’s inevitable. “It makes me think you don’t wanna go out with me…”
He desperately shakes his head, like he thinks he can change your mind. “Of course I do! You make me laugh, you’re intelligent plus you’re the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen” Outside, you rolled your eyes. Inside, even knowing it was the most common and ordinary line ever, you feel your heart warming. But your face still had that pout. Those glossy eyes. That dark grey cloud above you, ready to wet your cheeks. “I’m sorry, I just have a lot going on right now, You know, with the boys, and other stuff”
And you act like you forgive him. Because you’re good, because you love him, because you’re worried you’re doing everything wrong. “It’s okay,” I’m getting used to it already, you don’t say. There’s thoughts sharp as daggers threatening to cut your poor heart. You had to get away. “I think I’m going I—“
“—How about we go out next week? I don’t think I have something to do” Your heart beat again with anticipation. And you’ll hate him for every word he has ever said to you.
“Sure, but promise me you’ll remember…”
“Of course I’m going to remember. I’ll make it up to you... you’ll see” He promises, once again. And you have no option to believe him. Because he says he loves you. Because maybe you’re being unfair; he has a lot going on in his mind, and you had to be fine being the last of his priorities. “I love you, and I’m really sorry”
He loves you, and you love him. “Love you too,” You suppose love it’s enough.
At some point everything went downhill. He can’t even remember why he was so vexed by you. You couldn’t go to this place with him because you had plans with your friends? Fine, until he started to feel insecure, until the mind that their parents created could see the sun.
You were tired of canceling any plan just for him to forget almost every single time. So you don’t actually realize when you stopped doing it. It seemed natural, like you left behind the sweet feeling of being excited to find out where you were going, what you’ll be doing… all of that replaced by an icy and somewhat uncomfortable feeling of waiting for something that won’t be coming to you. A kind of longing you despised, but couldn’t shake off your mind.
And the first time you realize, was all Sirius fault.
“Don’t look at me like that, Siri, I’m trying to understand you,”
It hurts you seeing him so distressed about something you did, or say. His breath quivers and you could see his fingers are shaking from the anger he felt. And in your mind it was your fault.
“What's so hard to understand?” He whispers, then, he looks at you. Meeting your confused expression hiding your desires to cry underneath. “Fuck, are you stupid?”
You gasp. There must be something else stressing him to this point. It couldn’t be just you, could it be? “Siri…” It’s soft and inviting but he can’t return from his state. “I’ll cancel, okay? And we’re going wherever you want, uhm?”
He shakes his head. His raven waves are disheveled by the many times he had passed his fingers through it. He wanted to come back, but there’s something stopping him. “No, I can’t keep telling you everything you need to do—let me finish!” You opened your mouth again, to say something. To try to get the pieces together, to fix it. But he wasn’t that kind of person. He needed space to think—you had guessed some time ago, because he doesn’t acknowledge it. “Go have your fun, I’ll have my own”
He disappeared, out of your reach. And forever.
He felt guilty, and he wondered if it would ever stop. He was out of his mind, thinking you’ve done the worst to him. Even at some point, his wasted mind told him you were both done. He had seen you angry—or maybe afraid? He doesn’t even remember, but he hadn’t seen that expression on your sweet face before. He swore he would recall, but he never did.
Deep down he knew he had screwed up a long time ago, and a long time ago he stopped caring. After all you’ll feed your heart full with his excuses, empty promises and words he can’t believe he said so lightly.
He took you for granted.
Now he hates you. For not being there, for not standing your ground and trying to change things… and trying to make him a space where he doesn’t deserve to be.
Your heart was falling off your sleeve when you saw him at the table. He was alone. While the others are still sleeping upstairs. The italian summer breeze won’t be enough to soothe your tormented mind, it won’t heal your wounded heart. You didn’t even want to remember why you’re doing this — weren’t you enough?
It was hard to believe you were still there. After everything you knew, you’d still given him a chance. Every step towards his form was touring your crushed heart. “Can we talk?”
He smiles, leaving behind everything he was supposed to do. You don’t miss how his eyes try to avoid yours. “Oh, darling, I’m going somewhere, maybe later?”
At his futile attempt to leave, you became desperate. “No, I can’t wait. I need to talk to you right now.” He caught how your hand is trembling, while trying to reach for him. But it’s late, and the guilt has started to eat his rotting mind. He can’t say it to you. And maybe you wanted to talk about something else—how could you know? “I won’t insist again, please”
He’s being reckless and carelessness, but he doesn’t have the courage to ignore your plea. So he stays glued to the chair. “Fine but it has to be quick”
“Don’t you have something to tell me?” Your voice is breaking under the pressure of what you know. And it’s impossible for you to look into his eyes and confront him. But he shakes his head. And you see everything falling down. It wasn’t supposed to end like this. “I just have one thing to say, but I was just thinking…”
He takes all of his strength to smile. And it’s a pathetic excuse. “Nope, not really. I love you, that’s all”
You frown. Feeling your tears raining down, wetting your cheeks. “But it means nothing now,” He screws his eyes close. Drowning in guilt. In despair because he doesn’t know if you’re going to forgive him. “I know what you did, Sirius”
An horrified expression hardens his features. And he stands up, to embrace you. “I—I can explain it, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry”
In your misery, you accept it. Because it’s his arms. Because he smells familiar, like safety. You had to indulge in it, before losing everything. And it’s not too late when you realize he’s none of that. And had to rip yourself away from him. Your big heartbroken eyes stared straight into his soul. “You weren’t even going to tell me…” Your lower lip twitching, under your faint voice.
His heart shrinks, and he doesn’t know what to do. “I was waiting—“
“—You’re always waiting, it seems” You cut him off, suddenly annoyed by his pathetic cries and words. It almost seems like he doesn’t care at all. Then, why’re you there? Your voice can’t help but keep breaking. “I don’t care about your explanation… your acts have been screaming you wanted this to end. But I assume you’ve been waiting,”
His glossy eyes found yours again to deny your sayings. “That’s not true, please, how could I ever want to break up with you?”
There’s a soft humorless laugh slipping through your mouth. “But you did. Or were you thinking fool me would forgive you for this?” And there’s a bittersweet after taste in your mouth. And he’s shocked, because you never had tried to hurt him with words. In fact, he only was hurt by the collateral damage of things he did or said. “I don’t deserve this, Sirius”.
He falls to his knees, knowing you won’t take him back. “I’m deeply sorry, I swear I can make it up for you,” But you both knew he can’t, even if he was given the chance, he’ll just keep hurting you.
His head hangs low, and there’s some satisfaction in the back of your mind. Knowing he was hurting—or at least he’s good at pretending—even if you’re going through the same.
Suppressing a sob, your voice is a foggy punishment, “We’re done” It’s all you say, leaving him there. And everything after is a blur. No one asked, no one tried to stop you. You didn’t travel alone back home. No, one of the girls decided you couldn’t be left alone. You weren’t expecting anything, they were Sirius’ friends after all.
And Christmas passed by, and other festivities, birthdays, and parties. And you were a ghost. Only your closest friends saw you, as you kept yourself away from Sirius’ circle, not even wanting to hear his name in conversations. But time keeps passing by. Time wasn’t waiting for any of you.
You thought you’d gathered some strength by the time Remus’ birthday came around. It wasn’t foolish to think you could bear seeing Sirius, probably with a pretty another one wrapped around his finger—holding hands and dancing heart to heart to the torturous beat of your favorite song, by his favorite muggle band.
The bricks are cold and rough against your bare, tender back. You light a cigarette, trying to calm your nerves of not seeing him accompanied.
His smell, how his feet struck lightly the pavement gave it away in an instant. This wasn’t supposed to happen, this was—he’s supposed to be a stranger, someone you’ll be meeting again under different eyes.
He stopped and stayed glued to that spot. Near the wall. Only sighs came out of his mouth for what you felt was an eternity. You know he’s dying to speak, but he’s no fool, he knows he has only one opportunity, before you come back inside, running away from him.
He’s helpless if he thinks he still has time. “I’m sorry,” His voice wavered. He never learned how to approach hurt animals, especially if he was the perpetuator of their bubbling anxiety and misery.
You look at him, and you can only be sorry for your buried relationship, for what his hunger for self sabotage and poor emotion control has done. You don’t care if you’re unfair, he deserves all the credit for burning everything to ashes.
A humorless grin adorned your face, “It’s okay, Sirius, you don’t have to do this”
But it’s not okay. It never was.
He closes his eyes, “I regret every single day what I did at that party,”
And you sigh, “I know, I regret that too”. But it wasn’t all, you wish ti add.
And Sirius has to stare at you with his silver eyes, there’s no grin on his lips. He had to know you’re being honest. That you’re not a stranger.
He takes a deep breath, encouraging himself to ask for forgiveness, to explain everything he couldn’t back then. “I should have listened to you. I shouldn’t have let my thoughts taint what we had” Sirius takes a pause. You had a worried expression on your face — you don’t want to go through this, to awake your resentment for him. “I want you to know I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you. And I want to tell you that I care, I tried to send you letters and all”
You nodded, you knew, even if he didn’t say it. Entering into Sirius’ mind wasn’t easy. He had to let you in order to get to know the real one behind every mischievous grin, teasing eyes and flirty words. It was just a slip. That, you understood.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t read them. I despised you, and then you stopped sending them”.
Now it’s his turn to understand your doings. “Yeah, I didn’t want to push yourself more” There’s a silence loud enough to push Sirius to an edge and he wasn’t prepared to jump, he doesn’t feel he has the right. But he opens his mouth, “Do you think we…?” And his eyes are shining silver, under the dim yellow lights.
“Siri…”, You whispered, feeling almost sorry for him. He knew it was bad news. “I know you regret it because you broke us, and I hated it, because it doesn’t let me come back to you” His breath wavers and his heart shatters to sharp pieces. “We should stay as friends, as I still care about you”.
He closes his eyes, as a flow of undesired anger sends shivers down his spine. “I can’t be your friend, I’m in love with you!” He lifts his arms, trying to reach for you. He can’t. He knows you’re already so far away. Have been for a while. “I can’t bear having you so near yet so far away. Like life is mocking me!”
Waiting for him to finish, you watched how his hand carded through his thick, raven curls.
“Sirius, I thought so too. I thought I would be forever and always in love with you—I was head over heels, but not anymore.” You paused, “What I'm trying to say, it’s that everything will pass. Time would work things up, and then we’d just remember the good times, and we won't turn these gatherings into our personal hell”.
He shocks his head in disbelief. As if he has a right to deny your feelings—to deny you’ve moved on. “You don’t love me anymore?” In his eyes there’s a plea, and you don’t have what he wants. Lips disappearing into a thin line, you lightly shook your head. “When did you realize?”
“Sirius, I don’t think—“
“—Please,”
He just wants to bury the idea you’ll ever be together again. “When I saw you earlier… and I didn't feel my heart would explode. Didn’t hear the birds chirping…” You pause to smile, and it’s warm, nostalgic. “When I saw you earlier and realized you couldn’t hurt me anymore”.
Your voice fainting at the end of the phrase was everything he swore he wouldn’t do to you. “Shit, I really screwed everything”
When his red rimmed eyes connected with your own, a pang of pain spread through your stomach. You longed to reach for him, embrace his body, shield his mind from anything that could harm him. But he was the one responsible. So you stop yourself.
“Hey, maybe I was distracting you from meeting the love of your life,” He smiles. And you finally feel relieved.

The color yellow often resurfaced bad memories of his past. Yellow were the hazmat suits he wore with Walt when they cooked meth. Yellow were Jane’s bed sheets when she overdosed right next to him. Yellow were the broiling sands of New Mexico—a place he once called home.
Now that he was in Alaska, yellow was a color he scarcely ever saw. And for that he was glad. Mostly, it was white. With snow—with clouds. Maybe a dash of brown and grey here and there, alongside the occasional green once in a while.
It was quiet. Peaceful.
After everything, a bit of peace was all that Jesse needed.
That is, until you came along.
The first time he met you, you were decked out in an array of soft canary-hued clothes, certainly a sight that he wasn’t expecting at all. You were smiling brightly, so wide that it was a wonder your face hadn’t split into two. There was a basket in your hands, which held nothing other than around a dozen ripe lemons.
“Urm, hello?” Jesse hesitantly greeted, opening the door wider.
“Hi, I’m Y/N. Sorry for dropping by all of a sudden—I live around five minutes away, and there’s barely anybody that lives near me other than grouchy old Bob, so when I found out someone had moved into this shabby little cabin, I just couldn’t help but stop by! Here, I got you a little house-warming gift. I hope you like lemons!” You held the basket out to him, still beaming ever so kindly.
Awkward, Jesse took the lemons from you, his free hand rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. “Ah, thanks. I’m Jared. Jared Driscoll.”
“Well, it’s really nice to meet you, Jared. Hope it’s not weird for me to say that it’s great to see a young face around,” you told him, rocking back on your heels. “Most people living around here are over sixty.”
Memories of Walter, Saul, and Mike flashed in the back of his mind, and he could nearly feel the physical pressure weighing down on his chest. He squared his jaw and pushed the thoughts away.
“Yeah,” replied Jesse, nodding. “Thanks again, for, uhm, these.”
He was just about to shut the door again, mentally smacking himself for being so tongue-tied, before you gently asked, “If you’re not doing anything tonight, I’d love to have you over for dinner. No pressure, though, I’d totally understand if you’d want to settle in first.”
No, was right on the tip of his tongue. No thanks, I’m a little busy with unpacking my stuff. I mean, I don’t have any stuff, but you don’t need to know that.
But the words caught in his throat. You looked so hopeful, your hands clasped behind you and your eyes wide with excitement. You were still smiling—how were you still smiling? His eyes darted down to your yellow cardigan rustling with the frigid Alaskan wind.
“Uhm, alright,” he replied, shooting you a tight smile that came off more like an uncomfortable grimace than anything, but at least he was trying.
Somehow, you seemed to brighten even more at his response.
“Cool, is seven okay with you? I still need to clean up a bit before dinner.”
Jesse nodded wordlessly, a strange, giddy warmth pooling into his abdomen—a feeling he hadn’t felt in a very, very long time. It was excitement. Jesse couldn’t remember the last time he’d genuinely been excited for something.
“Alright, to get to my place, you just walk up the main road for a while, until you see a fork in the road—take a right, and walk for a bit, then you’ll see my house. In case you wanna make sure it’s my place, the mailbox has a pink handprint on it, but I doubt you’ll get confused—it’s not a very crowded neighborhood, huh?”
Jesse thanked you again as you left, smiling at you—genuinely, this time.
Tumblr media
Two packs of crushed crackers were gripped within one of his hands. It was all he had in his pantry, and he didn’t know what the etiquette was like around here, so he brought them just to be safe.
There was a lot of yellow to your house. He caught sight of the lemon tree in the corner of your living room, situated right against a window for optimum sunlight. You had a pale yellow carpet beneath the dining table, and sheer curtains hanging over the window of the same shade. You even had a little white cat, who had wound around Jesse’s legs with a mewl, staring up at him with large amber eyes.
You apologized profusely, bending down to pick her up. “Sorry, she’s not usually this friendly around strangers. This is Yuki—means snow in Japanese.”
A smile itched at the corner of his lips. “No worries. I’m cool with cats. I, uh, I like her name.”
Seemingly relieved, you put Yuki back down, and ushered him to the table. In the center was a clear vase, holding a variety of ochre and purple wildflowers.
“Hope you’re alright with spaghetti—I’m not that great of a cook, but I make a mean spaghetti,” you said, grinning as you disappeared into the kitchen to brandish a large bowl of pasta. His stomach growled at the smell of marinara sauce—he couldn’t remember the last time he had a decent bowl of warm, homemade food.
“No, yeah, that’s great,” he reassured. Silence stretched between the two of you as you began to ladle heapfuls of the noodles onto his plate, making sure to add a generous helping of meatballs with it. Awkwardly, he cleared his throat. “I haven’t had the chance to thank you, so… thanks.”
You grinned at him kindly, before sitting right across from him. “It’s no problem, I promise. To be honest, it gets really lonely here sometimes. I’m glad you moved in.”
Jesse could only give you a small smile in return, before digging into his food. It was better than anything he’d had in months, though it wasn’t much of a competition. The past few weeks had been nothing but stale sandwiches and tough jerky that wore out his jaw.
“This is really good,” he said around a mouthful of pasta, forgetting his tableside manners for a moment. You didn’t seem to mind, only beaming all the brighter.
“I’m glad! Wish I could grow my own fresh tomatoes to make the sauce with but—it’s almost always freezing cold here,” you chuckled lightly. You twirled some pasta over your fork. “Which is why I grow lemon trees—they can withstand the cold pretty well.”
“How long have you been living here?” asked Jesse, finding himself genuinely curious about you.
You hummed in thought. “Four years ago, I think. I just needed some peace and quiet—and where better than Alaska, you know? I’m a writer, see, and I used to think that I had to live in a bustling city to make connections and meet more people in the industry to be successful but… I don’t know, I think a part of me always felt trapped in a corner. I feel free here.”
“Yeah,” replied Jesse, distant. “I get that. So, uh, you’re a writer, huh? What do you write?”
“Short stories, mostly. Sometimes I dabble in longer novels, and sometimes I’ll dip my toe into nonfiction. Depends on what my publishers want from me and also what I personally want to write,” you said, before taking a sip of water. Blanching, you quickly added, “Oh, I’m so sorry, you’re my guest and I haven’t even asked a single thing about you. What about you? What’re you doing up in the middle of nowhere, Alaska, Jared?”
The new name felt so foreign—so strange coming from you. He wondered how it’d sound if you said his real name. Jesse.
At your question, a myriad of memories flashed into the front of his thoughts once more. Mike, Walt, Jane, Badger, Skinny Pete, the meth, the drugs, his parents…
He pursed his lips.
Sensing he was a bit uncomfortable, he was surprised when you only nodded in gentle understanding, quietly saying, “It’s alright. You don’t have to tell me. We all have our reasons.”
The reassuring smile that quirked the corner of your lips upward made his heart just a little heavier. You were just so… nice. It was a bit baffling. An extremely stark comparison to his time kept prisoner by the group of Nazis.
“You got space for dessert?” you queried, tilting your head in the most adorable of ways, snapping him out of his reverie just when the atmosphere began returning back to its original light-hearted state. “I made lemon pie!”
Tumblr media
It took him a little under a month to fully settle in. His house was still sparse and relatively empty, but he’d bought a nice new couch to lay back on and a frumpy little lamp he had gotten for free at an antique store. The old lady that worked there had pinched his cheeks and given it to him for free, despite the crumpled bills he was just about to hand over.
She told him that she reminded her of her grandson, and insisted on giving it to him for no charge. Acquiescing, Jesse took it home with him. Who was he to turn down something free, anyway?
He’d gotten himself a job as a carpenter, building together new little cabins not far from where he lived for adventuring tourists or more old couples that would inevitably migrate here in search of some peace and quiet. Most of his free time was spent dillying in his house, reading random books he’d borrow from the musty little library in the small town (he was pleasantly surprised to find a collection of your works on one shelf)—or he’d find himself at your house, playing Scrabble with you, or listening to you ramble about your day, or babysitting your cat when you had to go off to meet with your publisher.
It was safe to say that he’d grown rather fond of you.
And that scared him. Rightfully so—the last two times he’d genuinely cared about someone… he’d lost both of them.
But that was in the past now. Jesse was trying to move forward. With you by his side, hopefully.
One of the benefits of being a carpenter was that he had a nearly infinite supply of spare wood on his hands. He’d been meaning to make you a little thank you gift for how nice you’d been to him his first few weeks in Alaska. He certainly hadn’t been expecting any sort of hospitality whatsoever before he’d arrived.
And so Jesse built you a little birdhouse. It was relatively small and admittedly not his most skillful craft, but he thought it wasn’t too shabby. He’d even stopped by a hardware store to grab some paint, and added a thin coat of light yellow to the outside of the birdhouse. The roof was colored a sweet shade of pink—he’d meant to color it red, but the crimson had accidentally mixed into the white on his brush, and he decided that the pink would look better, anyways.
The day after, he was on your doorstep, ringing the bell with an excited flutter to his stomach, rocking back and forth on his heels.
You swung the door open, smiling upon seeing him. He interestingly noted that you were wearing large yellow overalls, hair tied away from your face. You looked so darned cute—it made him clam up for a second and forget what he’d come here for.
“Hey!” you greeted, stepping to the side so he could amble in. “It’s nice to see you, I was literally just about to call you to ask if you wanted to watch a movie tonight, or something—ooh, whatcha got there?” Your eyes widened as you looked at the little wooden house cradled in his palms.
“It’s for you,” said Jesse, holding it out. “It’s a, uhm, a birdhouse.”
Your expression melted into one of pure affection, and you grinned impossibly wider, before surging forward and throwing your arms around him in a quick hug. Before he could even begin to think about reciprocating the embrace, you were already pulling away, holding the birdhouse up to eye-level to observe it closer. “Oh, my God, Jared, this is gorgeous—I can’t thank you enough. Did you make it yourself?”
Chuckling nervously, Jesse nodded an affirmative, scratching the back of his neck in a sheepish manner. “It was nothing, really. Just had some scrap wood.”
“I love it,” you told him. The words made warmth coil about the bones of his ribs, spreading down to the tips of his fingers and crawling up the skin of his neck. “Nobody’s ever made me something like that before! You’re really too sweet, Jared. I’ll hang it outside in a bit.”
Carefully, you placed the little house on your table. A quiet meow roped both of your attentions lower, where Yuki was winding between both of your legs, tail curled around Jesse’s shins. He bent down to gently scratch beneath her chin, earning him a contented purr.
The three of you made your way to the couches, and you ushered Jesse to sit down, after you rushed to go pour him a steaming cup of coffee.
“It’s freezing out,” you told him, curling up beside the man and handing him the mug, before taking a sip from your own. Yuki made herself comfortable between the two of you, tucking her nose behind her tail and shutting her eyes for a nap. “Hopefully you can stay and defrost for a bit before heading back out?”
He hummed, appreciative of the idea. Being with you was… comforting, to say the least. It was peaceful, and quiet, and made his heart ache like nothing else. Dare he say—domestic. It reminded him of his short-cut time with Jane.
At the thought of her, thorns pierced through his lungs and he forced his gaze away from you. He caught sight of a small pile of papers on your coffee table, and he leaned forward to pick one up. You fiddled with the mug in your hands, nervous.
“Oh, wow, is this what you’ve been writing?” His eyes swept along the first few lines, finding himself utterly impressed. “Yo, this is, like, really damn good.”
“Really?” you asked, sitting up straighter, a hopeful look to your expression. “I’ve been in a weird word-vomit mood lately—ever since I met you, I just haven’t been able to stop.”
Jesse risked a glance to you, muffling a smile. “I may not know much about writing but this is… next level, dude. It’s like I can see it all in my head. Like a movie but with… words?”
“Gosh, Jared, you really know how to compliment someone,” you lightly scoffed, hiding your beam behind your mug. “You can keep that copy if you want. Here—” Shifting to brandish a pen from your pocket, you signed his name right under your printed one.
Jesse peered over to look, the smile cracking through his exterior.
For Jared Driscoll.
“You know what’s funny,” you murmured, eyes glued to his fake name on the paper. “You’ve never really pegged me as a Jared Driscoll.”
For a long moment, Jesse could’ve sworn his heart stopped in his chest. “Oh, yeah? Why, uh… why’s that?”
You shot him a glance, before smiling sweetly, handing him the papers back for him to keep. “I don’t really know—it just doesn’t suit you, I guess. Jared Driscoll sounds so—rough’n’tough, you know? You don’t strike me as the rough’n’tough kind of guy. You’re too sweet for that.” You shrugged, sinking further into the couch and running the tips of your fingers along Yuki’s back.
Jesse stared at you for a moment longer. Your words brought a certain kind of comfort to him that he never knew he needed. The affirmation that he was still a good person in your eyes—it meant more to him than he thought it would.
“Thanks,” he said, hesitant, though he gently quirked the corner of his lips into a mild grin. He sipped his warm coffee before adding on, “I think you’re sweet, too.”
Tumblr media
“You never told me when your birthday was,” you told him, an accusing lilt to your words. Jesse’s brows rose. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes, having just woken up no less than three minutes ago to the door ringing.
Wordlessly, he swung his door open wider so you had space to shuffle in, still glaring at him.
“It’s been a year since you moved in,” you carried on. There was a slight pouty pucker to your lips, face creased into a frown. Jesse thought you were too damned cute to take your annoyance too seriously. “And we haven’t celebrated your birthday once!”
“Bah, it’s not a big deal,” he finally said, yawning behind a fist and waving your words away.
Your little frown deepened. “Well, I’m sorry I missed it,” you softly said, placing a hand on his shoulder. “But I got you something anyway.”
From out of seemingly nowhere, you brandished a large brown paper bag, dangling it in front of him on the tips of your fingers. When he narrowed his blue eyes and suspiciously darted his gaze between you and the bag, you huffed out a small laugh, jerking your chin towards the gift. “Go on—open it!”
The bag crinkled loudly beneath his grip as he took it from you. With one last questioning look to you, he turned it over, and out fell a large yellow hoodie, cloud-soft in his palms. It looked like it was the exact right size for him, and he sent you an incredulous glance.
“This is sick, Y/N, thanks,” he said, a genuine beam itching at his mouth. “Perfect size—and it’s yellow, too!”
For a moment, you looked a bit unsure. “If you don’t like the color, I can always switch it out—it’s just, you’re always wearing neutrals, I thought it’d be nice to give you something colored.”
Jesse looked to the hoodie, then back at you.
Sure, yellow brought back bad memories. Far too many, and not nearly distant enough in his past.
But yellow was your color—and he rather liked how it looked on you.
“Nah,” he said, patting your shoulder once, then twice, “I like it, really. I like it a lot.”
Tumblr media
Two years in Alaska meant nearly two years with you.
You’d become the one constant in his life—one that he wouldn’t mind being around for the rest of it, as well.
The two of you were sitting side by side on a frosty hill, watching the sun set. A breathtaking mirage of clementines and peaches bled through the sky just when the sun dipped slowly beneath the horizon. A faint, cold wind tousled your hair, rustling the blades of grass around you. It was meant to be a celebratory picnic of sorts, but the two of you decided it was too cold to eat out, and opted to just sit and relax for a bit before heading back inside and having dinner. Wordlessly, you handed him a pack of chips from the little basket you’d brought for the failed picnic, and he wrestled it open, popping one into his mouth. Simultaneously, you bit down on a crisp apple, wiping the spurting juices away with the back of your hand.
“I can’t believe it’s been two years,” said Jesse, mindlessly tracing shapes into the cold grass. “Time flies, huh?”
You hummed in agreement. “It does.”
Jesse turned to look at you, watching the side of your face relax along with the disappearance of the sun. The last few moments of golden sunlight bathed you in a gentle glow and drew the most beautiful of shadows across your features. You brushed some stray hairs out of your face, the sleeve of your oversized flaxen sweater swallowing your arm. He really couldn’t deny himself anymore—he was completely and utterly in love with you.
“There’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you,” he said. He wanted to tell you the truth. Obviously not all of it—not all at once—but he wanted you to know. Jesse trusted you more than anyone else in his entire life. Maybe that made him an idiot, but… he was willing to risk the chance with you.
Curious, you tilted your head questioningly, laying your hands and face against your raised knees. The very edge of your shoulder brushed against his arm. You raised your eyebrows expectantly.
“You were right,” he finally said.
“Right about what?” You were starting to look mildly concerned.
Jesse inhaled deeply. “Jared Driscoll doesn’t suit me at all because… it’s not my real name.”
Surprise flooded your expression, but not too much of it—as if you’d always had an inkling all along.
“So what’s your real name?” you asked, all gentle, slightly afraid. Afraid that you’d lose him after so long—after getting attached.
“Jesse Pinkman,” he responded, tearing his gaze away from you, not sure if he wanted to see your reaction. “My middle name is Bruce.”
To his complete surprise, you let out a sudden laugh, before clamping your hands to your mouth. He snapped his head back to look at you, a contagious, incredulous grin touching the corner of his lips.
“Bruce like Batman?” you asked, slightly muffled behind your palms. He nodded, and you let out another chortling laugh. Relief wove through the very fibers of his muscles at your relaxed disposition. You smiled at him, all soft and glowing. It made Jesse’s stomach knot together uncomfortably. “I think it suits you. Much more than Jared Driscoll.”
You tested his name out, enunciating different syllables in various ways, your grin growing nearly double its size.
“Jesse Pinkman. Jesse Pinkman. Jesse Pinkman. Jesse Pinkman—”
“Alright, that’s enough,” Jesse snorted, grabbing the apple in your hand and gently pushing it back into your mouth. With a halfhearted glare, you bit down into it anyway.
Around a mouthful of apple, you told him, “You have a pretty name.” You swallowed down the apple and quietly asked him, “Why are you using a fake one?”
Jesse hesitated, directing his gaze to the ground. His smile melted away. “Maybe that’s a story for another time.”
Bobbing your head in understanding, you smiled at him, still so very genuine it made his heart ache.
“Since we’re sharing secrets… well, mine isn’t exactly a secret, but I didn’t move to Alaska for the peace and quiet. I mean, I did, but that wasn’t really the reason why I left the city.” You cleared your throat, eyes getting slightly misty. “I lost my best friend in a car crash while she was on call with me seven years ago. A part of me will always think that it’s my fault that she died. So I moved to Alaska to get away from everything. From the city, and all those cars… and all the people. It was really hard being here at first. It was cold, and lonely, and sometimes just plain old boring. But honestly?” You tentatively reached over to place your palm over his. “Best decision I’ve ever made.”
The sun was long gone by now, and Jesse found himself missing how you looked in its soft yellow glow.
“Best decision both of us made,” he murmured, nodding. Jesse quite liked the feeling of your hand on top of his. “I came to Alaska because I, uh… I lost everyone. Everything.”
You smiled—all soft and devastating. He could feel a part of his heart crumbling into a heap of sand within his chest. Nimbly, he turned his palm over to intertwine your fingers with his cold ones.
“Well, you haven’t lost me, Jesse,” you told him, so quiet that it was nearly lost to the breeze.
Jesse wanted to cry at those words. He blinked away the stinging feeling at the top of his nose, and could only muster a grateful, teary nod.
“I, uhm, I’ve only been in love twice before in my life,” he whispered to you, swallowing the lump in his throat. “And both times, they died while I was right there—helpless. I’ve healed and I’m moving on, but, uh… I’m terrified of losing you the way I lost them, Y/N.”
Shifting, you turned so you could fully face him, now clasping both hands onto his right one. Firmly, you repeated yourself, “You haven’t lost me, Jesse. You won’t. Whatever hurt you back in New Mexico is long gone now. The past is far behind you. You have a fresh start. And I’ll be there with you—every step of the way.”
The color yellow often resurfaced bad memories of his past. Yellow were the hazmat suits he wore with Walt when they cooked meth. Yellow were Jane’s bed sheets when she overdosed right next to him. Yellow were the broiling sands of New Mexico—a place he once called home.
There wasn’t much yellow in Alaska, and for that he’d been grateful.
But maybe… maybe yellow wasn’t so bad.
After all, yellow was your color—and it looked beautiful on you.

„And I thought I was weird for feeling uncomfortable at that, you know? They broke up, it's not really his place to say anything like that especially after telling Dina he's over her anyways" You're best friend said, finishing up her explanation of yesterdays event with Dina and Jesse. He found the two of them smoking near a warehouse and from what you made out of Ellie's explanation, he wasn't too happy to see them sitting so close.
You and Ellie were having another movie night, those happen pretty often. ( Every Wednesday, to be exact.) sitting on the old sofa in your living room with you're legs resting on hers. „Well, it's still fresh. Don't think he's jealous of the two of you spending lots of time together but maybe it's just a weird feeling seeing her with someone else, though there's absolutely nothing between you and Dina" you replied, chuckling at the thought of Jesse being all jealous over nothing. You rested your head back against the many sofa pillows, enjoying the comfy half sitting half laying position you're in. „Yeah.. totally" Ellie mumbled, looking down at her hands resting on top of you ankles, shifting uncomfortably. Knowing Ellie probably better than anyone else, you knew right away that something seems off.
„Wait.." you said,  sensing the weird vibe from you're best friend. „There is nothing between you two, right?" you said, lifting you're upper body into a more sitting posture. „Ellie?" you said her name as you're so called friend didn't answer right away. You felt you're heart stink, not really being sure of what's going on exactly. „uhm.. I don't wanna talk about it?" she said, looking at you with an apologetic look, making it sound more like a question than an real steady answer. „Hell no, remember our ‚no lying rule'?" you said. „Cmon we made that rule as we were 15, that's childish." she said while caressing through her hair, suddenly looking all exhausted. „It wasn't childish when I had my first kiss and didn't want to talk about it" You mentioned. Remembering the night you ran about 2 miles to Ellie's house after spending the afternoon with some other kids in the pub, playing some stupid games. After you kissed Sophia as you're truth or dare quest you took of running, straight into the arms of the brown haired girl who couldn't participate that nights event due to a cold. Ellie knew something must've happened and as you really didn't want to talk about it, embarrassed by the fact that everyone could probably tell you never kissed anyone ever before, Ellie set up a rule. *„Let's promise to always be honest, life is too fucked up to screw it up with lies"* you knew she was right and since that night you tried to always be honest to each other.
„Cmon that's totally different!" Ellie defended herself, crossing her arms above her chest. „Jesus, Williams, answer the fucking question and stop being difficult" you said with a light voice, feeling like Ellie was some deer that takes of running as soon as you're tone was slightly off. „I mean, there is nothing between me and Dina.. so" she explained and you could tell that She was satisfied with her answer since her shoulders became less tense. „But you wish there was?" you asked, not able to look at Ellie you decided to give you're hands something to do, grabbing the soda can you had standing infront of you at the table. „I.. yeah, I guess? Okay. Who am I kidding" she said, her hands running over her face. She revealed a slight laugh. „Oh god" she groaned, now fully blushing like a 13 year old teenager. „Yeah, yeah I do like her. Fuck, this is the first time admitting it out loud" she said.
You took a sip from you're soda, the carbonic acid being long gone since you opened the can almost 2 hours ago, giving you a second or two to continue to stay silent. Having the opportunity to ignore the trouble of you're mind right now
The Jealousy building up inside of you made you think like you're going all crazy, fighting against the urge to scream inside a pillow you took that energy elsewhere. „okay, good for you" you said, taking another sip from the drink, hoping to put out the fire building up in you're chest. Ellie looked at you saying „it's not weird, right? Falling for her?" you looked at her again, considering of telling her what you really think. You consider of telling her that's it's not weird, but you don't like it either. No , you hate it. You hate it so much because you want Ellie to fall for you instead of her.
But you didn't say that. Instead you betrayed your 15 year old self by lying to Ellie and yourself.
It's been three months, 4 days and 2,5 Hours without a word from her.
 Ever since then , You are entangled in the delicate web of grief for what felt like for two people, where the threads of loss and longing weave intricate patterns within your heart. Two souls, distinct yet equally significant, find their place in the chambers of your being.
Dylan, now resting six feet under, has embarked on a journey beyond the veil. His earthly vessel lies cradled by the soil, while his essence pirouettes among the constellations. The wasteland of the unknown stretches before him—And then there's your best friend, a constellation of memories and shared secrets. But her presence has become elusive, slipping through your fingers like sand. She chooses silence—a withdrawal that echoes louder than any spoken words. And you tried. Oh, how you tried to get her to speak—the silent symphony of longing, the unspoken words that hung in the air like dew-kissed spider silk. Your gaze, a language of its own, whispered secrets that transcended mere sentences. But she? She met your offerings with silence—a void that echoed louder than any spoken syllable. She stopped coming over. The threshold of your space became a chasm, a bridge severed by unspoken truths. The door, once a portal to laughter and whispered confidences, now stood closed. The only ever time you got to see her, to give yourself the inner peace of her being okay, was on the weekly parol meetings. She attended, her presence a fragile thread connecting you both. But she mastered the art of departure—slipping away before your eyes could catch hers. The opposite direction became her refuge, a path untrodden by your footsteps.
Talking wasn't what Ellie needed. You sensed it, that unspoken ache in the air—the need for silence, for space. So you stepped back, honoring the boundaries she drew around her heart. But your longing couldnt be unoticed by you any longer so after three weeks, you started writing to her. Youre desperation spilled over, ink bleeding onto paper.  You became a clandestine messenger, slipping perfumed notes into the small slit of her mailbox. Each letter carried a piece of your soul—a plea, a confession, a desperate whisper.  It lingered on your fingertips, a bridge between worlds. And as you pressed those letters into the darkness, you imagined her fingers brushing against them. Would she feel the urgency? Would she hear your silent screams for her friendship?  Handwritten letters—those delicate vessels of ink and paper—weave memories that transcend mere words. Each stroke of the pen, each carefully crafted sentence, carries a piece of the you in them. The intimacy lies not only in the content but also in the act of creation itself. You decided to write her if shes unable to talk, you wanted to give her the space she needed, you tried to be as understanding as you could. But one unanswered letter turned into two, three, four. You stopped putting them into her mailbox after five.
Now, you're trying to ignore the pain in your heart every time you wake up. Ellie's childish behavior hasn't stopped you from living your life. Instead, you channel your anger and sleepless nights into your work, making each patrol count. Working alongside Jesse has become a bright spot—a fun experience you eagerly anticipate. It's not the same as those moments outside the gates with Ellie, but it's different in a way that doesn't breed resentment.
You and Jesse share a closeness that predates his separation from Dina. The heartbreak they both faced has left its mark, and you find solace in each other's company. Jesse isn't thrilled about the situation either—the breakup and lingering jealousy still gnaw at him. On that second day of patrol together, he broaches the awkward topic between you and Ellie. "So, you gonna tell me what happened or not?" Jesse's voice cut through the quiet of the abandoned checkpoint. He pulled a sandwich from his backpack, the crinkling of the wrapper echoing in the dim light. The two of you sat there, weary from the day's patrol, the weight of your assigned route still clinging to your bones. Nightfall had descended too swiftly, and the dangers of this post-apocalyptic world made it impossible to venture home safely after dark. You shifted uncomfortably on the hard ground, the rough edges of the old checkpoint digging into your back. The makeshift campsite was a stark reminder of the life you now led—constantly on the move, always vigilant. Jesse's eyes bore into yours, waiting for an answer.
"Don't really know what's there to say, to be honest," you replied, your fingers tracing the edges of the food you'd prepared hours ago. The silence now haning between the two of you wasnt uncomftable,punctuated by the distant howl of a lone infected.  "Maybe explain why we're now patrol partners? I thought you and Ellie made such a good team. Not that I'm complaining, though—we're badass too. Just wondering why you suddenly decided that Ellie wasn't good enough anymore," Jesse's voice cut through the dimly lit space of the makeshift camp. He lay down on the sleeping bag, using his right arm as a makeshift pillow, his gaze fixed on you. The flicker of confusion danced through the forest of your mind as you replayed Jesse's last words.
"What? I didn't decide that," you replied, studying your friend's posture as he took a bite of his cheese sandwich. "I asked Dina what happened earlier today." Jesse mumbled, his mouth still half full. "Ellie told her it was you who decided to change partners. Don't get me wrong—I feel honored to be your new partner in crime. I was just curious about what happened." - ''the fuck?'' You said more to yourself than him. ''Thats so fucked up..'' -"Okay, c'mon, I need the drama. Please explain to me like everything. Consider me one of your gossip girls," Jesse quipped, his unseriousness bringing a smile to your face. You took another bite of your food, savoring the dry bread as you gathered your thoughts. Trusting Jesse, you decided it wasn't a bad idea to share what had transpired between you and Ellie. So, with a deep breath, you began recounting the events of your last patrol with her. Jesse leans in, eyes wide with curiosity. His sandwich forgotten, he hangs on every word as you recount the events of that fateful patrol with Ellie. The tension, the unspoken words, the ache in your chest—it all spills out, painting a vivid picture of the fractured bond between you and the girl who once felt like your world.
"Damn," Jesse mutters, running a hand through his hair. "That's heavy stuff." His gaze lingers on your face, searching for answers. "You think she'll come around?'' You shrug, the weight of uncertainty settling on your shoulders. ''Dont think so, I think she regrets even kissing me. She has dina now, dont think that she'll need me anymore.'' Your gaze drifts down to your wrist, where the matching bracelet still clings—a fragile thread connecting you to Ellie. You wonder if she wears hers. Jesse, now leading forward, nudges your shoulder playfully. "Well, partner," he says, "we'll keep kicking ass out here. Fuck them both".
After that night, you felt like Jesse and you were attached at the hip. Somehow, you both helped each other navigate the jagged terrain of heartbreak, spending time together and letting the hours slip away. Being friends with Jesse had its perks. He acted as a bridge to Ellie, still maintaining a sort of friendship with Dina, getting slim updates from her. Through Jesse, you received updates about Ellie—whether she was safe, whether she'd eaten enough.
But it wasn't the same. Those impersonal updates couldn't replace the warmth of setting eyes on Ellie, hearing her voice—the cadence of her laughter, the way she'd say your name. You missed the little things, the mundane details that had once woven your lives together. But over the time you started to accept the turn of events, knowing you cannot force Friendship on somebody.
You started to distract yourself outside of work, whether it was with Jesse or... Sophia. After that encounter where Maria broke the news to you about Ellie changing everything, you did the only thing you knew you were really good at: You ran off.
Weirdly enough, two weeks after that pivotal moment and your  patrols with Jesse as your new partner, a knock on your door interrupted your vegetable-cutting session in the small kitchen. As you walked toward the door, a million possibilities raced through your mind. Was it Ellie, knocking on the wood on a late rainy afternoon? Or perhaps Jesse, wanting to talk? Dina? Or maybe Joel, coming all the way to the comfort of your four walls to deliver news about his beloved Ellie being hurt.
Secretly, you wished it was Ellie. So you ran a hand through your hair, glancing into the small mirror hanging near the door to check yourself out before opening the squeaky wood.  But on the other side stood Sophia, holding a plate covered in aluminum foil.  "Uhm... hey," she said, her cheeks flushed with red. "I've made some cake—way too much to eat all by myself. I wanted to share it. If, um, you want to, of course. It's chocolate cake." Her words tumbled out in a rush, and you sensed her nervousness. A Small smile spread across your face as you stepped aside, making space for her to enter the house. "That's too kind," you replied. "You've got impeccable timing. I just finished dinner—perfect time for dessert. Come inside." You didn't mention the comforting fact that her house was all the way across town, meaning she'd walked quite a distance just to bring you cake. Nor did you acknowledge that it was common knowledge that Sophia is allergic to Chocolate but it was your favorite.
One hour with Sophia turned into two, and before you knew it, the entire afternoon was filled with your laughter. She ended up staying over, making your house feel less empty. Since Dylan's passing, sleep had eluded you. Without Ellie by your side, it felt impossible to quiet your mind. Sophia changed that somewhat, but it didn't feel the same. Perhaps your own mind betrayed you, clouding your thoughts about her presence. You didn't want her to leave, yet you didn't necessarily want her to stay either. The universe seemed to decide for you, as the strawberry-blonde girl drifted off to sleep on your sofa after what felt like an eternity of talking.
You settled into your gray armchair, gently covering her thin body with your favorite blanket—the same one Ellie used to take whenever she stayed over. The entire night, you found yourself comparing Sophia to Ellie—the way she moved, the cadence of her voice, the sparkle in her eyes when she spoke about her interests. It wasn't a good thing, you must admit. Sophia is a nice girl, but you never really considered her a potential friend, especially since you both shared your first kisses with each other. After that, things got weird, and you both grew up, walking different paths.
Yet now, here she was—baking you cakes, making you laugh, and filling the void left by Ellie. The universe had a funny way of intertwining lives, even when hearts were tangled in memories and unanswered letters. Having someone else in Ellie's place is like trying to fit a puzzle piece into a space that was uniquely shaped for her. It's both comforting and disorienting—a blend of familiarity and foreignness. Her presence brings warmth, but it's a different kind—the soft glow of candlelight instead of the blazing fire that Ellie ignited.Sophia's touch is gentle, her fingers tracing patterns on your skin. But it lacks the electric charge—the pulse of longing—that Ellie's touch carried. You wonder if Sophia noticed the way you hesitated, the way your heart stumbles when she leans in too close.
The day with Sophia didnt end there, it  stretched into a comfortable rhythm, covering the next two days of your life —a dance of shared meals, laughter, and quiet moments. Her presence filled the spaces that Ellie had once occupied, and you found yourself not minding it at all. The awkwardness of those initial conversations melted away as you both peeled back layers, revealing stories and dreams that wove your lives together.
But life has a way of interrupting even the most harmonious melodies. Jesse, with his uninvited pizza and the entire Twilight saga in tow, barged into your living room. You tried to politely decline the teen romance marathon—you'd seen it one too many times—but Jesse, being Jesse, brushed off your protests. His eyes widened when he saw Sophia sitting there, a teasing grin tugging at his lips. You knew he'd milk this moment, teasing you about having a cute girl over at your house.
After Jesse left, well, pratically run out, you settled back onto the sofa next to Sophia. "That was... Jesse, right?" she asked, her fingers playing with her curly hair. You leaned against the soft material of the sofa, nodding. "Uhm, yup." Sophia's gaze lingered on you, and you sensed her curiosity. "You two do spend a lot of time together—even after patrols," she observed."Oh? You noticed that? Stalking me, huh?" you teased, making Sophia blush. Her cheeks turned a delightful shade of pink. "Well," she replied, her voice soft, "you just always catch my eye." And then, without warning, her body shifted closer. Her hands found their place on either side of your waist, and her lips met yours—a sweetness that tasted like possibility. You hated yourself for it, truly. Because here was a girl with good intentions, almost on top of you, and your mind couldn't help but wish it was Ellie.
Another two months slip through your fingers, ephemeral as morning mist. Life, once heavy with the ache of Ellie's absence, begins to lift itself up.  Sophia becomes a constant presence—a sunbeam that warms the corners of your heart as you allow yourself. Your growing relationship with Sophia blossoms, and you find comfort in her laughter, her touch, and the shared moments that weave your lives together. The unspoken question lingers: Are you allowed to call her your girlfriend? After all, you've shared more than just cake and conversations. Perhaps labels matter less than the way she looks at you, the way her fingers intertwine with yours.
And then there's Jesse—the steadfast friend who bridges the gap between patrols and pizza nights. His teasing about Sophia doesn't go unnoticed, but he's also the one who brings laughter into your home. Everything else remains unchanged—the memories, the unanswered letters, and the quiet longing. Life moves forward, and you find solace in the delicate balance of old and new. Patrol was as good as it could be, once you and Jesse found a way to connect your abilities, it didnt really feel like work anymore.
"Yo, little one," Jesse's voice cut through the quiet of the stables, interrupting your grooming session with Lacy. You turned to meet his gaze, immediately noticing his patrol clothes—fitting perfectly against his frame. "What the hell are you doing? We have the day off, remember?" you asked, your fingers still caressing Lacy's mane.
"Not anymore," Jesse replied, already opening the door to his horse's stable. "Dina apparently has the flu, and they both forgot to sign in at the station outside. Maria asked me to take their route for today and look for anything weird." He led his dark brown horse out of the stable, determination etched on his face.
"Good luck with that," you said, turning back to continue your work. But Jesse wasn't done. "Nuh huh, lover girl. You're joining me," he declared, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Pardon?" You looked at him, confusion knitting your brows. "Don't hit me with Spanish,"- ''Its french'' Jesse chuckled. "well whatever it was,I don't speak it. Come on now, get ready. We don't have all day." He saddled his horse efficiently, his movements practiced. "Why should I? You said yes, not me," you replied stubbornly, even though you gathered all the essentials needed to prepare Lacy. "Well, because I'm your partner in crime? Your work husband? Love of your patrol life?" Jesse grinned, his eyes dancing with mischief. "And because I'll get bored alone. You don't have anything better to do anyway." - ''Rude?! maybe i had things planned?!'' You said, jokingly offended as you grab your stuff  ''You can meet sophia  and have all of those important 'converstations'' he made weird kissing noises ''later.'' He finished his sentance, making you laugh ''Well first of all I-'' You got interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat. You looked into the direction of the noise and saw the last person you wanted to see today. ''Sup, Ellie.'' Jesse said, leaning against the stable door. ''what can I do for you?'' He asked, eyes stuck on ellie. But her gaze lied elsewhere; On you.
You shivered under her gaze, your heart racing. As you looked into Ellie's eyes—the first time in forever—you sensed something there, something you couldn't quite put into words. Her burning gaze finally shifted from you to Jesse, arms crossed at her chest.
"Earlier, when me and Dina were at the station, I lost my journal," Ellie said, her voice close, intimate. "Can you look for it? Kinda really need it back." Her words echoed through the stable, and suddenly, the air felt too thin. Your knees wobbled, memories of Ellie cascading down the memory bridge, crashing into your stomach. You felt like you might throw up. "Sure, we will look for it. Anything else?" Jesse asked, glancing between the two of you. Ellie's eyes traveled back to you, and silent hope bloomed in your chest. Maybe this was the moment—maybe Ellie would finally have the guts to talk to you directly, to say she's sorry. But as her gaze wavered, you felt the familiar pang of disappointment. Once again, Ellie remained silent.You felt a strong hand on your shoulder, silently offering support. Jesse's familiar scent enveloped you. "Thought so," he said, ending the conversation. Ellie nodded and turned away, leaving the two of you alone. The barn was filled with silence until you spoke with a shaky voice. "Okay, let's just go." And so you did—you and Jesse left for patrol. But with every passing second, the memory of that confrontation lingered, and you realized how much you still craved her.
"Jesus, I hate this path," Jesse grumbled, pushing open the old, creaky door to the station. His face turned red from the effort, and you couldn't help but giggle. "Stop crying like a baby. Let's sign in and leave," you said, walking toward the desk on the opposite side of the room. As you approached, you noticed that a pen was missing. Without it, you obviously couldn't sign in.
"Jesse, there's no pen," you called out, looking at your friend. "Really? Look under the table or something. We'll find one," he replied. You followed his suggestion, getting down on your knees. Spiderwebs greeted you, along with the encroaching dusk. You pulled out your flashlight, shining it underneath the table for a better look. And there it was—an old, leather-covered book. You'd recognize that book spine anywhere, even in the grandest libraries.
You picked it up, wiping away the dust that clung to its material. The thickness of the journal reminded you of what you were holding—a door to Ellie Williams' secrets and mindful thoughts. "Found one!" Jesse's voice snapped you out of your reverie. You turned around, hiding the journal behind your back. Jesse joined you, writing your names on the slim paper of the checklist. ‘Partner in crimes ( Jesse and y/n)’
"Did you find anything? The book, I mean. It's not somewhere I looked," Jesse asked. You shook your head, slipping the journal into your bag without it being noticed. "Nope, didn't find it either."
''Every poem I ever wrote was about her. That smile of hers, those golden eyes—whenever she's too close to the sun, it's impossible for me to stay away. The day I left, my heart shattered into a million pieces. In my head, inside my perfect self-made world, she never left me. All my thoughts revolve around her—the memories etched into my mind. Her touch, so soft—I never wanted to let go. The scent of her clothes, stealing my breath away. The nights we spent dreaming together, the minutes I never want to regret. I never dared to imagine a lifetime without her. Yet here I am, writing these words with a hole in my chest. I'm bleeding out, the wind kissing my mind, refreshing memories of letting go. The silence surrounds me, a reminder to hold on.
I search the past for redemption, but it eludes me. The only thing left of me are broken pieces of her.”
The words were carefully etched onto the paper, making it hard for you to breathe. You hadn't intended to overstep her privacy—why had you taken that journal in the first place? You dont know.  But here you were, sitting with the book in hand, the only light in the living room emanating from the countless candles you'd lit.
The journal looked thicker than usual, and that's what caught your attention first. You knew that book well, even though you'd never seen what she put inside—except for her drawings of animals, Joel, Dina, and you. She'd never shown anyone what she wrote between the pages.
The reason you'd decided to open the book, against all your inner morals, was the fact that as you carefully pulled it out of your bag—treating it like fragile glass—multiple letters fell out. You noticed them right away. They were yours—carefully written letters she'd never dared to answer. The envelopes ripped open showed you she defenetly read them all. You dont know how to feel about that yet. Relieved that she cared enough to read them? Happy becasue she carried your letters with her, doesnt matter where shed go? Or mad, because she never replied? You know nothing. The only thing you're able to do now is bury yourself in the book, reading what Ellie never dared to say out loud.
''Ive been having a hard time adjusting, I had the shiniest wheels, now they're rusting. I didn't know if you'd care if I came back, I have a lot of regrets about that. Pulled the car off the road to the lookout, Could've followed my fears all the way down. And maybe I don't quite know what to say but I'm here in your doorway. I just wanted you to know that this is me trying''
The words cut deeper than a knife,
before you knew it, your eyes traveled to the next phrases, crossed out, you could barely read them:
"It's hard to be anywhere these days when all I want is you.
Seeing you with Sophie burns me from inside out.
Why are you with her?
I know I don't own you, perhaps I never will,
so the anger inside of me when I see you with her
is something I'm not allowed to feel.
What I feel, I shouldn't show you.
So when you're around, I don't.
I let you walk away with her.
I know I don't have the right to feel it,
but it doesn't mean I don't."
The rest of the book was empty, besides some skteches of eyes that look dangerously like yours. You swallowed hard, not really sure of what you should feel. You re-read the sentences out loud, letting the bittersweet aftertaste of them making you feel alive. Your heart has been Ellies since the first time you both laughed together; yet you were so sure of the fact that she would never feel the same. Considering the words in the journal, maybe it wasnt one sided after all. Youre confused, being with Sophia was easy, comftable. But with ellie, it was different. better. You miss the butterflies in your stomach, miss her touch and her closeness. The rollercoster was everything you ever had, after all.
Two days of full selfishness carried its weight, and you continued to keep the journal. The guilt crept in, stealthy as shadows, finding you at night, when the world slept and your thoughts roamed free. Those written pages from Ellie, inked with longing and crossed-out confessions, haunted your mind. You tried your best to hide the pain, a fragile masquerade. Distancing yourself from Sophia and Jesse, you walked the tightrope of deception. It wasn't deliberate; it was survival. The what-could've-been danced like a ghost, whispering secrets in your ear. You wondered if Ellie's heart echoed the same unspoken words.
Sophia, her presence a comforting harbor, yet her touch felt like borrowed warmth. And Jesse, his eyes— The guilt gnawed at you, a relentless hunger. You held Sophia too close, fearing Ellie's phantom gaze. You looked into Jesse's eyes, and the lie about keeping the Journal tasted bitter on your tongue.  Ellie, elusive as a wisp of smoke. The barn encounter—the air thick with unspoken truths—left you breathless. You havent seen her since. You called in sick for the patrol meeting, a desperate escape from the inevitable. The fear of facing her again, of unraveling the fragile equilibrium, gripped your heart.
In the quiet of your room, the journal lay open. The crossed-out phrases, the sketches of eyes—they were your silent companions.
——————————————————-
"Okay, Miss being all sad and distant, I'm not having this anymore. Tell me what's going on right now or I'm killing you," Jesse declared, pressing past you as you opened the door. His urgency hung in the air, a storm brewing behind his eyes.
"Jesus, very aggressive today, aren't we?" you quipped, trailing after your friend into the living room. The door closed behind you, sealing you both in a cocoon of tension. You sank into the couch, and Jesse settled next to you, his gaze drilling holes into your soul."Therapy session. Now. What's going on?" His hands clasped together, a makeshift gavel. The room felt smaller, suffocating. You glanced at the coffee table, considering the whiskey bottle, but thought better of it. "Nothing? Do you want to drink anything... or?" Your voice played innocent, a fragile mask. Jesse wasn't fooled. "The jury says stop trying to change the subject." His tone held a mix of exasperation and concern."The jury...?" You grinned, despite the weight in your chest. "Yeah, me." Jesse's eyes softened, and you chuckled. "It's nothing, really.“
"You're completely distant," he said, his voice calm. "Even Sophia asked me if I have any idea what's going on." The truth hung between you like a fragile thread, ready to snap.
"I don't know... it's, urgh, weird." You fidgeted with the edge of a cushion. Jesse leaned closer, his breath warm against your cheek. "Tell me!" His insistence bordered on desperation
"Okay, but promise me not to hate me?" You gave him a side-eye, afraid of meeting his gaze head-on. "Could never hate you," he replied, and the words carried weight. So you spilled it—the secret you'd harbored, the journal you'd found.
Ellie's words, inked and crossed out, danced in your memory. You didn't reveal the exact phrasing, but you shared the confusion—the way her emotions bled through the pages. Jesse listened, his eyes wide, and you wondered if he saw the echoes of your own heartache.
In that quiet room, the truth hung heavy. You'd kept Ellie's words hidden, but now they spilled forth. Jesse's hand found yours, and you clung to it, hoping for absolution. "It's Ellie," you whispered. "It's always been Ellie."  His silence spoke volumes, eyes carrying the weight of unspoken understanding. He'd always sensed your feelings for Ellie, perhaps even before you did. It wasn't a secret to anyone but her—the way your heart gravitated toward her, like a moth drawn to a flame. “You guys need to talk.” Jesse said.
"I can't," you whispered, the words fragile on your tongue. The weight of unspoken truths pressed against your chest, threatening to spill forth."And why the fuck not? What do you have to lose?" Jesse's voice held a mix of frustration and concern. He saw through your defenses, stripped away the layers you'd carefully woven. Ellie—the enigma, the ache—loomed between you like a shadow."Afraid of losing her? I think you already archived that." His bluntness cut through your heart. You knew it too well—the missed chances, the crossed-out phrases, the silence that echoed louder than words. Jesse could see the pain in you and the bluntless paired with that slight tinge of what appeared to be anger slowly disappeared into thin air, much like the smoke of a lit cigarette blown into the night sky.
"Look" he begins, sighing while he considers the phrasing of this. He means no harm, but being too gentle could erase the importance of the situation "I want to help you, but you cannot hide yourself away. If you truly want this girl, you need to be able to put in the effort. Dina and Ellie arent dating either, dina told me herself that the two of them thought there was something but ended up with nothing. Be honest with yourself, but also with everyone else" You exhale deeply, relief floods your system despite the heavy heart still pounding against your chest.
Jesse is the kind of friend you can never let go. He's just that important.
Between the soft tunes of comfortingly familiar songs and a few shed tears, the two of you scheme together... Creating a, hopefully, foolproof plan on how to finally approach the elephant in the room. Ellie and you; it wasn't over, was it?

fireworks
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: jj maybank x reader (she/her)
summary: you meet jj at a fourth of july kegger and watch the fireworks together
approx. reading time: around four minutes
warnings: drinking, smoking, keggers, really short, not edited very well
note: this is awful but whatever thanks for being patient with me 😭 (also i struggle with sticking to past-tense and/or present-tense so if you see mistakes pls ignore)
masterlist :) | navigation
Tumblr media
you never drinked or smoked. it was something you promised yourself when you were younger. seeing your parents absolutely ruin their lives over it, made you never want to try it. therefore you never went to parties, cause really what would you do with a bunch of drunk, high, and horny teenagers?
“come on, it’ll be really fun! and maybe you’ll meet someone cute there, you never know!” ashley pressures.
you cringe at the thought, “what would i even do all night anyways?”
“idk.. mingle! come on! it’s summertime and you’ve done nothing but be in bed by 8:30. i promise after this no more parties.” before you can continue arguing with her she starts going through your closet, finding something for you to wear. by the time you had to leave you were dressed in a white top with blue accents and jean shorts.
Tumblr media
being fully surrounded by teenagers you didn’t know made you uncomfortable. and all you could think about was that everybody could probably tell. ashley mumbles something about a drink and a cute guy so after she leaves, you walk away from the log you two were sitting at and instead sit down next to a tree a little farther away from the kegger. you sit on your phone for what felt like hours before getting up to go find ashley, who is also your ride.
but as your getting up someone bumps into you and you feel liquid spill all over your white shirt.
“oh my god!” you look down at your shirt, complete ruined and stained.
“shit- i’m so sorry” you look up to see a blonde haired boy with an empty red solo cup in his hands. behind him you hear three teens snickering in the back and watch as they run away.
“is that beer?” you ask irritated. he starts chuckling at your question.
“i mean do you see the color? what else would it be?” he drops the solo cup on the ground before reaching in his pockets for napkins.
“very funny.” you glare at him.
you pause for a minute before continuing, “honestly it’s okay, i just want to get home and forget i even came here in the first place.” you go to grab your purse and your almost dead phone.
“the fireworks haven’t started yet though.” he says taking out a cigarette and lighting it.
“i don’t care. and sorry but can you not smoke near me.” you air out the smoke that’s in front of your nose.
“why? are you asthma- asthmathatic- uh.” he stutters trying to find the right word.
you laugh at the blonde’s attempt at saying the word. “asthmatic?” he nods. “well then no i’m not i just don’t like people smoking near me.”
“is that why you’ve been sitting by this tree for the last three hours on your phone instead of actually talking to people?” he teases.
“are you stalking me? that’s a little weird- um sorry i didn’t catch your name.”
“jj.” he takes his hand out so you can shake it.
you accept it, “y/n.”
“so are you from here? i’ve never seen you around.” he throws his cigarette in the nearest trash can as you continue walking out the kegger. he follows close behind you.
you clutch your purse closer to you as you walk to keep it from falling, “no actually, i live in maine but my grandparents are from here and i wanted to get away for the summer.”
“maine wow, so what do you do up there? it’s up.. right?” he’s walking close next to you now, a couple feet away from the scene you both had come from.
you laugh at his lack of knowledge, “yeah yea- it’s up from outer banks. close to new hampshire, massachusetts you know. but honestly when i’m over there i don’t do much. i just go to school get home and the cycle repeats.”
“hmm. so how do you know audrey, if you’re not from around here?”
“you really are a stalker huh?” you tease him.
he shakes his head smiling at me, “i’m just observant is all.”
“she’s a family friend i guess. this is my first time here since i was like three so i don’t know many people.”
“well now you know me.”
“yeah, i guess i do.” he stops walking after a couple seconds of silence.
“i know i caught ya on your way out but we could still go watch the fireworks together.” he takes his hands through his hair and with the streetlight hitting his face this is the first time you’ve had a good look at him. and you blush a little at the invite and maybe also cause he’s cute.
you sigh, “yeah yeah, that’d be fun.”

Masterlist
Warnings: fluff, mentions of sex, mentions of violence, small amount of angst
“Dude why don’t you just ask her out?”
Chris spoke out seeing Adrian eyeing you once again. Adrian turned giving him a small confused look.
“What do you mean? Why would I do that?”
“You’re joking right?”
Adrian scoffed chuckling a bit. The idea of asking you out was so funny to him. As if you’d ever say yes especially to him. Besides it’s not like he liked you.
Right?
“Dude you’re so obviously attracted to her and she feels the same way. You could see it. I’m tired of all your guys stupid sexual tension so just ask her out.”
“Okay first of all there is no tension. Second of all, Y/N does not like me that way. I mean you’ve said it yourself no girl would ever willingly date me.”
“That was a joke because let’s be honest you’re kinda annoying most of the time dude and Y/N tolerates you. She actually enjoys your company and goes out of her way to look for you.”
“No she doesn’t.”
“Yes she does. Anytime we come back from a mission or we get separated from each other and we regroup, you are the first person she looks for. If you’re not there, you’re the first person she asks for. I’m telling you I could tell chick digs you.”
Adrian rolled his eyes, “Why should I believe you? How do I know this isn’t some stupid prank you’re trying to pull on me?”
“It’s not. I’ve admitted I’m a bit of an asshole at times, but I wouldn’t try to screw you out of a friendship. If I didn’t think she liked you then I wouldn’t be telling you to ask her out.”
Chris gave Adrian a grin as they both looked back to you. You did look especially pretty tonight. Adrian thought so at least.
You wore that one outfit that Adrian swears is his all time favorite. Made your eyes and smile pop more as he described it.
He smiled as you looked towards them giving them a small wave.
“Adrian...”
“What?..”
“I can feel the tension from across the room. Go to her.”
“But she’s relaxing I don’t need to go ruin that for her-”
“Shut up and go sit with her and maybe I don’t know grow a pair of balls and ask her out.”
Adrian flipped him off as he walked towards you. It was a simple little get together at Adrian’s place that they all planned to unwind. Everyone would leave by midnight, but you..
You always stood to help him clean up or just to hang out with him just to end up crashing on his couch. (More like his bed since he’d rather die than have you sleep on his uncomfortable couch.)
“Hey Adrian..lovely little shindig you planned here.”
“Ah thanks all it costed me was thirty bucks.” You laughed a bit as he took a seat across from you. Not to close, but also not far.
“I could tell great idea getting digorno pizza. instead of ordering a couple. It’s not delivery.” You winked not noticing as Adrian grew flustered.
He laughed nervously rubbing the back of his head. “So did you plan on spending the whole party sitting in the corner?”
“No I was waiting for you to join when you wanted. I always wait for you Adrian.” You gave him a small smile. Adrian grinned as you sat up a bit more.
Adrian admired your smile as you fiddled with your water bottle. So maybe he did like you more than he’d care to admit.
You just confused him and kinda scared him.
No one had ever made him feel the way you feel. Whenever he was around you, his heart felt full, his palms would get sweaty and he felt breathless. He never felt this way around anyone before.
He’d gone his whole life believing he wasn’t capable of feeling anything like this. He thought he didn’t need it. It was a superficial thing. He didn’t need anyone else but himself.
Adrian couldn’t even remember the last time he intimately held hands with someone. He didn’t even quite know what that intimacy felt like.
With you though, he wanted to know. He wanted to be held and not just used as a quick fuck. He wanted to be himself and know what it felt like to be held or just to hold.
He wanted you close.
He wanted you next to him. He craved your touch even though he’d never experienced it. He just knew you would be the best person to hold or be held by..
You scared him in the best way possible.
The idea of one person bringing all of that out of him was fucking terrifying.
You smiled softly standing up wanting another drink of water. “If you wanna wait for me you can, but I want a refill.”
Adrian’s eyes shut as you ran your hand through his hair walking by him. His own hand reached out for yours as you passed by wanting to hold it, but he didn’t.
As the night progressed and the more people drank. You and Adrian sat closer and closer to each other. Still not touching but close enough that if you wanted to lean on his shoulder you could.
And you did.
Adrian’s breath hitched as your head leaned on him shutting your eyes. He glanced down seeing your hand reach out for his. He held it open as it a silent invitation to hold it if you wanted.
God did he want you too.
You didn’t notice it though.
“I’m starting to get tired..Do you mind if I spend the night Adrian? I don’t wanna drive when I’m this tired.”
“You know you are more than welcomed to spend the night. Besides you did drink a bit I don’t want you driving at all.”
“I only had two beers. Rest of the night has been water. Didn’t wanna get stupid drunk like Peacemaker over there.”
Adrian glanced over chuckling a bit seeing that Chris was indeed stupid drunk. You laughed a bit seeing Chris tumbling over his words to Emilia.
“Not our problem, Adebayo said she’d get him home.” You pointed to Adebayo trying to hide Chris’s drink.
“Last time I drove him home, he just kept yelling at me and threw up in my car so I said I wouldn’t do it again for a while.”
“Good only person who could vomit in your car is me.”
“Yeah it is only you. I’ll clean up your vomit and you any day Y/N.”
“How sweet. Might be one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me.”
“I try.” Adrian eyed your lips as you stared up at him. You grinned seeing his dumbstruck look.
“Why do you look dumb? What’s got you all bothered?”
“What? Nothing. Why?”
“I know you Adrian. I can see there’s something on your mind. Now spill.”
“It’s nothing.” You shook your head as he laughed a bit.
“Not nothing don’t give me that bull shit.”
“You really wanna know what’s on my mind?”
“I do. I always wanna know what’s on your mind.”
“Do you really?” Adrian teased as you huffed.
“Yes. I’m sure you idiot.”
“I really really and I mean really wanna kiss you..” You grew quiet staring up at him with shock. You didn’t think Adrian would say this.
“But I can’t and I won’t. It would ruin our friendship and make everything weird. Chris kinda got into my head tonight too saying there’s some tension between us and I said no because why would their be? You’re...Shit man you’re so special and beautiful so how could their be tension with me? Me of all people.”
“Adrian..”
“Man I’m rambling now aren’t I? I didn’t mean too. Sometimes it all just spills out without me meaning too. Let’s change the subject, I’m kinda surprised Chris didn’t bring Eagly with him. I love Eagly-”
“Adrian I’ve never said this to you before but shut up.” He looked down at you in shock. You grabbed his arm picking it up to snuggle into him.
“First of all so it’s not on your mind, Chris did bring Eagly. He’s outside though on the roof. Second of all you could ramble as much as you want to me and I’ll listen-”
“You just said for me to shut up-”
“I’m not done...Adrian...I really really and I mean really want you to kiss me too..”
Adrian stared down at you in shock. “But it would change things and probably make it weird-”
“I want weird with you. I love weird with you. You say I’m special..Adrian Chase you’re the nicest weirdo I’ve ever met and I want nothing more than for you to make it weird between us. Cause if you don’t I will.”
“I-I- um..I wasn’t expecting this at all. I think I need a moment.” You laughed wrapping your arms around him.
“Take your time. I’m not going anywhere.”
“Okay...lemme think about this..” You nodded shutting your eyes in content against him. You leaned up kissing his cheek softly not knowing how that small gesture made his brain short circuit.
“You’re killing me here.” He glared at you.
“All I did was kiss your cheek dummy.”
“Fuck you.” You grabbed his hand playing with it as he continued trying to glare at you.
Everyone began to clear out of the house each of them going home except for you and Adebayo who had to drag Chris to her car.
Chris laughed as Adrian helped her get him in the car. You stood watching them from a small distance.
“Dude y-you gotta just do it okay.” Adrian grimaced as Chris burped. “Ask her out!”
“Okay I will not shut up and let me buckle you up!”
“Y/N you hear that! He’s gonna ask you out!” You laughed as Adrian resisted the urge to punch his drunk best friend.
“Shut up!”
“Oh did you not want her to know yet?!”
“Adebayo please get him home.” Adrian slammed the door as she laughed a bit nodding her head.
“I will.”
Adrian sighed approaching you. You rubbed your arms cold as the night air pinched at your skin. Adrian shrugged off his sweater throwing it over you.
“Can’t have you be cold now huh?”
“I don’t need it. Spending the night still if that’s okay.”
“Yeah why wouldn’t it be?” You giggled deciding to tease him a bit.
“Might make things weird between us.” Adrian rolled his eyes.
“That’s fine. I want weird between us.” You stepped forward grabbing his hand tentatively holding it firmly.
“Good.”
“You know you’re probably the first girl or well person to ever want to willingly hold my hand. A lot of people really don’t wanna approach me.”
“Well that’s sad. Who could look at you and not wanna just hold you?” Adrian laughed a bit shaking his head letting you lead him back inside.
“So does this mean we’re dating.” He asked as you led him to his room.
“I don’t know ask me out.”
“Oh fuck fine! Y/N will you go out with me?” You grinned widely nodding.
“Yeah I will..Gotta say though this is kinda forward taking me to bed before dinner.”
“Shut up.” Adrian pulled you to him not holding you but having you close. You noticed his hesitancy to touch you. He wanted too.
You wanted him too, but it was obvious Adrian never had been intimate like this with someone. Not the sex intimate, but the I wanna hold you till I’m out of breath intimacy.
So you grabbed his cheeks admiring his face. Every small detail. He relaxed as your thumb ran across a small scar he had on his cheek.
He smiled as you pulled his head down softly kissing his forehead. You kissed his forehead, cheek and let his head go only to grab his hand to lay a gentle kiss on it.
“Adrian..I know you usually let me have your bed and you take the couch, but tonight do you think it’d be okay to share a bed with me?”
“Are you sure?..” He whispered out scared that this would all end up being one big joke on him.
“I’m sure..”
“Okay..We can share a bed..”
You grinned as he walked away beginning to strip for his pajamas. You followed suit borrowing a shirt of his to sleep in. Adrian admired you as you laid next to him bed.
“Can we..Can I..” He struggled a bit to voice out what he wanted. Adrian Chase was speechless for once in his life.
You knew what he wanted though. You always knew.
“Yeah..yeah we can. Is this okay?” Adrian let you lay on his chest before wrapping his arms around you.
“It’s more than okay..”
Within a couple minutes he fell asleep. You fell asleep after throwing your leg around his waist both you entangling yourselves around the other.
The next morning you awoke feeling warm. Adrian had completely latched onto you. You smiled feeling his arms tighten around you when you tried to move.
“Adrian..”
He hummed as you ran your hands through his hair. “I gotta pee.”
“Okay..pee.”
“No! I’m not peeing here idiot!”
“Well I don’t know how you’re gonna go then because I’m not letting you go. I don’t think I’ll ever let you go..”
You pulled his face away from your neck where he had it buried in.
“I’m gonna go pee-” Adrian groaned shaking his head. You grabbed his face planting a soft kiss on his head so he could let you go. He relaxed more loosening his grip letting you wiggle free.
“I’ll be back!”
“You’re no fair!!!”
Adrian sat up jumping a bit as you ran back in throwing yourself on the bed. “That was fast.”
“Told you I would be...Do you think we could go out today? On a date?”
“Fuck I was gonna ask you...Y/N do you think I could have another hug?”
“You don’t gotta ask. Wanna cuddle then go out for breakfast?”
“Is that our date?” Adrian wiggled his eyebrows. You nodded gripping his shoulders to help yourself up.
“Yeah..it is...to seal the deal I’m gonna kiss you now okay?”
“Okay...”
Adrian eyed your lips nervously as you leaned in placing a soft kiss on his lips. He smiled chasing your mouth when you pulled away.
“Was that good?”
“More. Give me more please.” You laughed kissing him again laying down with him on the bed.
Adrian couldn’t stop kissing you. He kissed your lips, cheeks, forehead.
Nothing could beat this.

polaroid love- bonus 0.4: safe haven
previous | masterlist | next
Tumblr media
yn arrived exactly 30 minutes after her last message. standing in front of the same door a couple of days ago, it was quiet compared to last time, or so she thought. ringing the doorbell led to a bunch of screams, a bit of running around can be heard, only for haerin to open the door.
“unnie? what brings you here?” yn bowed at the cat-like girl, showing her smile that makes people swoon for her. haerin understands why minji and hanni like her, her aura itself gives off comfort and safety along with her bright smile.
“is minji ready?”
“minji-unnie? i thought your date was this coming weekend?”
before yn could answer, there stood in front of her was hanni and minji behind her. even in their most comfiest clothes they still look ethereal, hanni with her hair a mess while brushing her teeth and minji just looking at yn in awe.
“hey.” minji was glowing, despite running around to pick the perfect comfy clothes she had. she’s here for minji this time, the first girl to have caught her eye when their music video released. she’s pretty.
“hey.” yn could only glance at hanni, she couldn’t decipher what she must be feeling right now. similarly with minji last time, there was something off.
“just in time, huh?” minji laughed as she put on her shoes. right after, giving yn a hug as a greeting. haerin could only nod in approval as hanni watched the interaction in front of her. oh, that stings.
“bring her home by 11, unnie!” haerin shouted as minji pulled away and waved goodbye to her group.
“that’s just 3 hours, rinnie.”
“i don’t care, just bring her home safely.” it didn’t take long as danielle and hyein went to greet yn and say their goodbyes as the pair walked off.
minji was much bolder than hanni, holding onto yn’s arms right away as soon as they started walking. a bit taken aback because as far as yn remembers minji’s love language isn’t physical touch.
“what’s the plan for tonight?”
“dinner first and… wait have you eaten yet?” minji shook her head. she really just got off of practice and changed her clothes into some clean ones that weren’t drenched in sweat.
“then come on, we’ll get dinner on the way. its one of my fave spots.” something about the way yn runs while holding minji’s hand brings adrenaline in minji’s veins as the feeling of being together with her crush is giving her the drive to do unimaginable things.
even yn felt the adrenaline, after opening the passenger side for minji or the fact that she assisted minji with her seatbelt. if hanni brought her comfort, minji gave her confidence. it was the same scenario, the aux was given to minji as yn jammed to everything in her playlist.
“so where’s this fave dinner spot of yours?”
“its near the place we’re going to, just a small noodle shop.”
the date was different from when she went out with hanni. minji is more relaxed but also alert, a bit talkative compared to hanni but it wasn’t to the point she’ll get tired of it. yn enjoys listening to minji talk about her interests, her day, and asking yn that sometimes took her by surprise.
“why’d you audition for jyp?” weird question for a date but so be it.
“at the time, before big hit or hybe really took everything by storm. jyp was the leading entertainment company and i was a big twice stan.”
minji explains hers, yn is interested, sometimes singing to the songs together as they wait for the red light to turn green. making a bit of a bold move by holding minji’s hand, she was a bit fidgeting, clearly nervous about this whole ordeal.
“you good?” minji hummed, yn’s hand still holding hers as she continues to drive.
“yeah, i’m great even.” haerin would not hear the end of this later once minji arrives home.
“good, i don’t want you to be uncomfortable while you’re with me, cutie.” the butterflies in her stomach keeps on erupting, her cheeks flushed, and her gaze on the driver who clearly been keeping track of her. minji never thought she could feel this sort of way, something that would make her excited to see yn everyday.
you’re making me fall for you, yn.
as yn would describe it, the noodle shop was indeed small and lowkey, yet they offer good noodles and dumplings at a reasonable price. clearly, the idol has been to the same place that she has a designated spot already, minji found it adorable, especially the grandma handling the place. while walking to the table, she was teasing yn on how the grandma is very fond of her, asking if minji was her girlfriend. it was a good thing minji was behind her to notice her flushed cheeks along with her ears being red as a tomato.
“aish, you two have fun, i’ll give you dumplings for free.”
“it’s fine-”
“just sit down and pick what you like.”
minji was just laughing at the interaction, she knew yn had a very comforting and friendly personality but seeing it in person with (she sees as) a stranger, shows that the title of nation’s heartthrob is very fitting. despite it being sudden, a literal one call away, here she was sitting in front of her crush who has been nothing but a pure sweetheart.
yn was a walking green flag, holding the door open for minji, putting her comfort first, and when minji was shivering, without saying anything yn gave her jacket to minji. she wonders if she did the same thing to hanni when they went out, but from the looks of it, yn gave off a very different vibe. one that would surely make you stop and look at her while walking past her.
“stop staring, cutie. i might melt.” it wasn’t just minji staring but also yn, she really looked cute wearing her jacket that was clearly way too big on her.
“sorry, you’re just… pretty.” yn didn’t catch the last part, watching as minji’s cheeks slowly turned red along with her covering her face.
“min-” before yn could start her sentence, their food was served along with the dumplings the grandma gave for free, along with a pitcher of ice cold water.
dinner ended the same way with yn’s date with hanni, getting to know each other further along with some flirtatious banter here and there. yn took notice how minji scrunches her nose in either cringe or how good the food is, no in between, or how minji eats a bit slower than her and yn slowing down just so she wouldn’t be pressured to finish her food right away, and how she still fed yn one of the dumplings and wiped the broth that was spilling on the corner of her lips.
minji also noticed how yn is very meticulous and clean while eating, especially preparing her anti-acid meds on the side if the dish is too spicy for her to handle. yn is soft-spoken that she forgets that this is the same girl that screams in their lives and causes chaos along with the maknae line.
“i like how when you’re speaking in korean your voice is so soft then you speak in english suddenly i feel like its a different person.”
“i assume its the accent?”
minji nodded, but yn also pointed out the same thing, and it ended up with the both of them trying to speak in english without making their voices deeper.
time went by slower than they expected, only spending an hour at the place. the grandma still didn’t let them pay for the dumplings.
yn and minji fought on whose paying only to end up with yn paying as sunbae which was total bs according to minji. as they walked out, minji took yn’s hand as they walked back to her car, laughing and talking about everything and nothing.
“ok but where are we actually going?”
“that is a secret, cutie.”
they took their time walking back to yn’s car as minji pouted and let go of her hand just to cross her arms. yn found it amusing, a bit cringe but she still found it cute with minji doing it. wrapping her arms around the girl, swaying side to side as she apologized. she couldn’t even act mad at yn, what more if they were actually dating.
i can’t with her, sim yn, stop playing with my heart.
minji hugged yn back and finally continued their walk back. walking as if they weren’t rookie idols who dispatch could probably be following for their new year tradition. that is for future minyn to deal with.

the ride to the carnival was a blast as minji put on songs that were perfect for hyping them up. especially when she played tokyo drift and yn jokingly sped up a bit only for minji to laugh at it and see the fun in it.
in minji’s gallery, there is a picture of yn driving that perfectly showcases how much she adores how playful the girl is. she won’t forget this night, maybe this could be the start of something beautiful.
although crowded places is the number one thing yn hates despite being an idol and performing for hundreds or thousands on the daily. being part of that said crowd is what she despises. here she is, at a carnival looking for the arcade where not a lot of people go just to play with minji and when things die down that’s when they go around the carnival itself.
the things i do for the people i like.
minji was having a blast, beating yn in some of the games, watching yn sulk over a racing game as it didn’t have a tokyo track so she can jokingly sing to tokyo drift, or how yn manage to win her a bunny plushie on her second try on the crane game. the date was at its peak as minji pulled yn to the rides, some that weren't crowded. she’s aware of yn’s social anxiety in these certain situations. she has mentioned before during the group dinner that she gets a bit overwhelmed.
to keep yn afloat, she held on her hand as they walked through the carnival, looking for rides that they would enjoy.
they screamed while going through the haunted houses, minji laughed as yn almost punched an animatronic, and just lost it as they got out.
“you- really- almost punched that ghost animatronic.” minji said in between laughs as yn sat on the floor catching her breath, laughing along and looking up at minji. oh wow, she’s beautiful.
“not my fault, it's called self defense.” her laugh died down as minji offered her hand to help yn up. that was the first time she felt a spark, literally.
it was a bit concerning with the amount of screaming they’ve done within those 15 minutes. a few more rides, some carnival games in between, the night was coming to a close as yn and minji walked hand in hand towards the ferris wheel. they’re just grateful no one has recognized them, the mask surely helping them.
as they relaxed in the ferris wheel, minji sat next to yn who still held her hand as it slowly went up, watching the view. the city lights create a comforting atmosphere for yn, minji, on the other hand, simply let her head rest on yn’s shoulder. letting things be as it came to a stop on top of the ferris wheel.
“i had fun, minji.” caressing the back of minji’s hand with her thumb, her attention diverted from the view to their hands.
“me too, yn.” both looking at their intertwined hands, it felt familiar for yn. too familiar that it scared her a bit. letting go of minji’s hand, she placed it around her waist, watching the view change as the ferris wheel started moving again.
somewhere within that ferris wheel basket, minji did the unspeakable. the unexpected.
minji kissed yn… on the cheek. maybe, she’ll do it properly next time.
the trip home was peaceful, for minji.
yn’s mind was buzzing, putting a facade as her and minji sang to the songs playing on whoever’s playlist. the familiarity of kim minji, compared to the unfamiliarity that is pham hanni yet there was a sense of home and comfort.
yn also did the unthinkable, hugging minji, thanking her for the time, and lastly, kissing her forehead. minji walked inside their dorm, leaning back on the door, and screaming on her hands. finally taking notice, she’s still wearing yn’s jacket.
yn is fucked and she needs to buy that snorlax bean bag, ASAP.
