I didn't expect to find such delish and fancy Italian food in Scotland, but they sure have it! I ordered bruschetta and a chicken dish, and the brusch' marked my first time trying anchovies. They are much more delicious than their reputation would have me believe. very salty, good little fish. would eat again on bruschetta, but maybe not on pizza.
the chicken was delish, the cosmo was strong, and the atmosphere was very nice. my partner got a vegetarian dish he quite enjoyed, and his dad (the birthday boy!) got the lamb (which he offered to let me try a bite and omg lamb is so yummy which i'm sorry not sorry it's delish).
we also indulged in desserts, as it was a birthday, and I do not remember the name of the little puff pastries filled with creme that I got but they were delizioso.
10/10, would go there again, especially for the cosmos ;)
is a bit pricey but very good and ideal for a celebratory birthday dinner!!
i'm conducting an experiment. everyone who's from an english speaking country state your country, regional area and what you call the following images. i need to see something
Idk what I want this page to be, so I guess I'll just write somethings about me and see what resignates with others.
I'm a 34 year old cis female. I grew up on Long Island NY and moved upstate. I'm a New Yorker through and through. I went to school for English literature with a concentration in British Victorian Literature. Studied abroad in London for a month (a quick course on Dickens and women's lit.). Graduated a semester early and within 2 months after I met my future husband. He was born and raised in England. We chatted for 6 months and then met in person and instantly fell in love. We started dating and in 3 months were engaged and married a year later in 2013. I moved from NY and jumped over the pond. We had our son in 2015 and decided that England was an expensive place to raise kids so we moved back to my hometown in NY in 2018. Bought our little townhouse and had our daughter in 2021.
So that's my story so far in a nutshell! I've been through a long distance relationship, moved countries (and back again), became a wife, mom and homeowner!
Sometimes, I love to reminisce about my story of how I ended up here. I've been through so much in almost 34 years (my birthday is in 2 days - ha). Maybe that's why I've decided to just put my stories, my struggles and my life experiences down somewhere. No one really needs to read it. I doubt anyone really will. I just want to do it for myself and there are others who want to come for the read, the more the merrier!
I was sat in a waiting room with this gay, American couple and their two kids, explaining that England doesn’t have tourist attractions like America does and that they should take their kids to the aquarium.
first time trying a Mexican restaurant in the UK! my partner got a veg chimichanga & a piña colada, and I got pollo con salsa verde enchiladas & a mango rum thing 🍹 everything was delicious, drinks were great, the place was very aesthetic and the staff had great vibes! my only complaint is that the salsa verde wasn't very spicy but... I am learning that's the norm for England 🙃 my meal was still flavorful and yummy, and I would definitely go back.
part 2 of my experiment: what english-speaking country are you from, what region and what do you call the following images? if you don't know what the first image is please try to guess i'd love to see it
I desperately need more botany/gardening/solarpunk/foraging posts that aren’t so fucking American-centric
“European plants are invasive” okay, in America— but which ones are invasive HERE, like are Spanish species invasive to England? Are French plants invasive to England??
