"But if college was free, then people would abuse that and get useless degrees" hell yeah I would! If I could go to college without debt I would make it my job to get a degree in every little thing that interested me. I'd get a doctorate in film studies. I'd have a bachelor's degree for every science I like. I'd try to learn at least 5 languages with varying results. I would learn something "useful" like coding and then follow it up with a ""useless"" degree like art history. I'd be the world record speed run holder for getting every degree possible.
But I can't afford college without going into massive debt, so instead I spent the last 5 years trying to figure out what I am passionate enough about to consider going into debt over, because unfortunately being passionate about everything is extremely expensive to pursue.

Danny always knew tax evasion ran in his veins. His parents hadn’t been the most… morally sound of people, and less so as ecto-scientists.
He just didn’t think their lessons would ever result in a criminal empire that spanned the entire city and then some. Danny hadn’t seen it coming. His parents definitely wouldn’t have.
“Good afternoon, Mr. Wayne. Mr. Fox.”
Danny ‘the Phantom’ Fenton sat down across from a rather tense looking (to Danny’s enhanced senses, anyways) Brucie Wayne and his right hand, Lucius Fox. He smiled pleasantly, matching Brucie’s vacant smile with that touch of Midwest suburban mother smile.
With his acquisition of multiple Gotham companies, his rather newly established Fentom Co. became one of the largest holding companies in Gotham, the first being Wayne Enterprises and the second being Drake Industries. After months of constantly working his butt off while fending off assassins, reforming Gotham’s slums and cleaning up some of the streets, and taking care of his nest of street kids, Danny garnered enough power to even stand close to Wayne Enterprises in terms of financial powers.
The topic of this meeting was, of course, the proposed merger of Wayne Enterprises’ Medical R&D division with Fentom Co.’s pharmaceutical department. Usually, Wayne Enterprises wouldn’t even consider such an offer, as their Medical R&D division was the most well funded and least likely to be part of a Rogue’s scheme- and therefore most beloved- department of the same nature in Gotham. However, Danny had something the other offers didn’t.
Blackmail.
His overly polite smile widened as Bruce’s mask twitched. His eyes slid over to Lucius Fox.
“It’s an honor to meet you, sir. I’ve heard much about your genius in… research and development.”
By that, Danny meant that he knew Lucius Fox helped develop Batman’s tech.
He did a lot of stalking that week. It felt rather… invasive, even if he did get a bunch of juicy secrets.
You know what they say: dead men tell no tales… but halfas are generally blabbermouths.
“Is that so? It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Mr. Fenton.” The man quickly glanced between the youngsters, accurately predicting that this might have something to do with Bruce’s active nightlife.
“Yes, it is such a pleasure to meet you.”
Wow, Danny didn’t think he’d ever heard anyone sound both so perky and dead inside at the same time, except for Susan at Gotham High’s bake sale.
Bruce wishes he could be a Susan. He’s at best a Becky.
“Will you be staying, Mr. Fox? You’re the head of the R&D department, correct?”
“Ah, yes-”
“Oh, Lucius! I think you had an appointment with the finance department right now! I heard Sally talk about it, you know!”
Lucius Fox sent an unreadable look at Bruce before rallying.
“Oh, it must have slipped my mind. My apologies, Mr. Fenton, it seems as though I can not skip this appointment.”
“That’s alright. I suppose it gives you… plausible deniability… should things go wrong, haha!” Danny allowed his smile to widen a little further than natural. Bruce tensed but Lucius Fox simply politely smiled and left the room.
Ignorance is bliss and all that, Danny amusedly thought.
As the door shut with a click, Bruce dropped the vacant Brucie smile and sighed.
“What do you want,” he gritted out. Danny wasn’t about to let that slide, not after he spent the better part of this month wrangling Bruce’s problem children.
“Ah, it must be because I’m from the Midwest, Brucie, but where I come from, we value these things called manners.”
You uneducated jerk, he doesn’t say.
Danny leaned back in his chair, loosening his smile into something relaxed and sharp.
“…” Oh, boy, Danny could just hear the other man’s blood pressure rising. “What is the purpose of your visit, Mr. Fenton?”
“Relax, Brucie,” Danny sing-songed in a non-relaxing way. “I’m just here to discuss a possible merger that I’m sure you’ll agree to, and give you a couple of updates on your… wayward bird.”
He heard Bruce take a slow, controlled breath. “Very well. Where. Would. You. Like. To. Start.”
Danny ignored the gritted out sentence. He passed a contract to Bruce, who took it like he was handling a live bomb.
“Here’s the proposal, Mr. Wayne. Please, look it over.”
He watched as Bruce looked over the contract with an eagle eye before lowering it, scrutinizing Danny.
“This is… very fair.”
Danny raised an eyebrow. Of course it was fair. Danny wasn’t interested in exploiting the Waynes, despite them being very able to afford it.
He’d brought fifty manufacturing sites for pharmaceuticals, and offered up a building where both companies could send their workers. He provided top notch security- that definitely didn’t have any talons on staff, what were they talking about?- that came from his own security division. Granted, most of them were reformed and trained goons, but hey, creating jobs can only help Gotham’s economy and help break the cycle of poverty, right? Guaranteed by the Wayne name and, most importantly, uncompromised medicine that was accessible to everyone would be a damn good start. He’d also have Penguin’s empire to distribute it to those who couldn’t make it to a clinic or a store, and there were plans in there to work with and establish contracts with Gotham’s welfare department. Well… once Danny finished replacing them with people who wouldn’t try to take a cut of the funds and actually cared about the people. He was thinking… the multitudes of poor grad students and parents that need income. He’s in the process of building childcare centers and…
It’s a good thing he managed to save money from the taxes (thank you, Gotham’s morally ambiguous tax experts that were in desperate need for clients! He could do it himself but having a team of accountants at the ready was seriously so helpful.) because ancients knows the government weren’t about to step into Gotham and help the people here. He needs so much money to pull all of this shit off and a lot of it has to be clean.
Danny inwardly sighed and marked another thing onto his to do list.
Make money laundering fronts.
“Of course, Mr. Wayne. You didn’t think I’d come in here demanding money, did you?”
“I considered it.”
“I am, in fact, trying to help Gotham. You might not agree with my methods, but I’d rather not damage Wayne Enterprises when it’s doing so much to help the people.”
Ugh, he was doing too much work. Danny just wanted to- hah- chill at home and read bed time stories to his kids.
Bruce Wayne, the specific blend between Brucie and Batman, regarded him silently. Danny felt like he went up a few notches in the respect ladder.
Nice.
“You’re a criminal.”
“Says the man in the bat-suit breaking into places and assaulting people.”
Bruce’s hands spasmed around the contract. Danny smiled at him, taking a sip of the coffee they’d prepared. Oo, nice!
“Ah, I heard you’re adopting- pardon, fostering- Tim Drake. Getting empty nest syndrome, Brucie?” He slipped back into using Bruce’s first name. The proposal was formal. This… was very much not.
“What about it?”
“That’s very kind of you. Speaking of which, well, of your birds, I was wondering if you remembered what I asked you to do.” Danny continued, not giving Bruce a chance to reply. “Didn’t I ask for you to keep your birds in line, Brucie?”
The CEO straightened even further, form filling out to be Batman’s imposing figure. “I did.”
“No, you didn’t. Do you know where your charge is, right now? No, not the formerly dead one,” Danny tilted his head, smile shrinking.
“Don’t you dare do anything to Tim. I swear, if you even lay a hand on a strand of his hair, I’ll-”
“Sit your Armani clad ass down, Bruce.” Danny snapped. “Your son’s in your office. I don’t harm children, and your assumptions are deeply insulting. Threaten me again, Bruce, and I’ll make sure you know exactly how much I know about your birds, your cousin, and the commissioner’s daughter.”
Bruce snarled but leashed his anger just enough to sit back down. He itched to go check on Tim, but leaving a threat like Phantom unwatched felt inherently wrong.
“Your other son,” Danny continued. “Is doing quite well. He’s learning that he has hobbies again. He’s actually working under me, you know.”
“He’s what.”
Oh, yeah, that tracks. It figured that Jason wouldn’t tell Bruce about anything. He’s still conflicted about his death. Danny got it.
“Ah, that’s precious information. You’ll have to offer something of equal value if you want to know. There is, on the other hand, a piece of information I’ll give you for free.”
Danny paused for the dramatic effect. It was lost on Bruce, the ultimate drama queen of this world.
“The League of Assassins are hanging around Hotham lately. It’s getting tedious, getting rid of them. I suggest talking to your old flame, you know, with words and what little communication skill you’ve got rattling around in your noggin to get them to pull back. Her interest is… unnaturally focused on Jason.”
Danny read the dark agreement swimming about Bruce’s face and inclined his head. “Should negotiations fail, rest assured that Jason will be protected.”
“…Thank you.”
“You are most welcome. Go ahead and discuss the contract with Mr. Fox, I am sure you’ll find little problems with it. Ah,” Danny stood up, fixing his suit jacket. “And you should probably check up on Timothy. He’s probably having a great time in your office, Mr. Wayne.”
“I’ll see you out.”
“Of course.”
Having Batman escorting him out should probably be more intimidating.
Danny stood in the elevator, waiting for Bruce’s contemplative silence to put itself into words.
Sure enough, “What… what kind of hobbies does Jason have now?”
“I’d tell you to ask him, but you two aren’t on speaking terms, are you? He likes books, of course, but recently, he’s found an interest in glass blowing. He made quite a bit of progress on his attempts at sun catchers.”
“I see.”
Well, Danny’s not about to step on that landmine any more than he has to.
——
“Danny.”
“Oh, hey, Jason. Sit down, we were about to have dinner.”
Jason clambered into the window. Danny sighed. He had a door, but by the way Jason never used it, it was like the door didn’t exist.
“Mind telling me why the old bastard showed up on my rooftops with a bunch of glass and glassblowing tools?”
Danny smiled. “No idea.”
“Uh huh.”
Danny placed a hand on his chest and put on his best woe-is-me expression. The teen’s face twitched in annoyance. “Doubt? At me? Why, I never!”
A bread roll thwacked him in the face.

Solar Return chart notes ii
Tumblr media Tumblr media
**not my images**
ᯓ★ chart ruler of SR in 3rd house may mean you will have a new (younger) sibling (or cousin).
ᯓ★ pluto in 1st house of SR is the year that i had a transformative overall year. I wouldn't call it an identity crisis but i was questioning who or what i am or what i need to be doing.
ᯓ★ IC ruler in 4th house in SR can make you more family oriented. i had this one year and i had a closer relationship with my household family.
ᯓ★ another indication of studying the occult is having vertex in the 8th house. i had mines in Gemini (mind, studying, writing).
ᯓ★ venus in 4th house in SR can mean you loving your culture and your traditions more.
ᯓ★ the ruler of 5th house in 6th house can be an indication of starting to move your body for fun. i had my ruler of 5th house (hobbies) in the 6th house (physical body, routine) and it was in Aries (fast moving, fast pace). i started dancing more that year as a hobby and for fun.
ᯓ★ 11th house SR in cancer can make your friendships very confusing. For example i had my 11th house in cancer and moon (ruler) in 3rd house (of communication, talking), there was lack of communication which led to confusion.
ᯓ★ vertex in the 8th house of SR can mean earning money/ getting money from other people. i had this in gemini (rules social media, and communication) in 8th house.
ᯓ★ when i had mars (action, messages) in the 9th house (higher learning, education) i had multiple of university offers. Mars was trine Neptune and the courses were art related. very interestinggg.
ᯓ★ ruler of 11th house square mars can bring conflict to your friendship circle.
ᯓ★ the ruler of 2nd house in Aquarius can make your senses change. what i mean by this is that your taste may change or say your sense of smell can become weaker or sharper etc etc.
ᯓ★ in your SR, when the 4th house ruler trines Venus, you may create a beautiful bond with your family members. This can also enhance your love for your heritage.
ᯓ★ Jupiter trine asteroid Aphrodite (1388) can influence self care. i had jupiter in Aries and i was very focused on the head/face and taking care of these areas such as my skin and my oral health. The asteroid was in the 2nd house which rules the face and teeth in medical astrology. very cool.
ᯓ★ when i had moon sextile uranus in my SR i was very chronically online. i had comfort in that area and would almost allow what i saw on the internet control my mood.
ᯓ★ venus trine saturn in your SR can make you become stricter on your appearance. this may cause you to be very aware of how you look and be quite strict about it.
ᯓ★ SR sun in 7th house, expect to be more confident. i had this trine pluto and went out of my comfort zone lots of times even if i felt a bit anxious.
ᯓ★ Mars in cancer in your SR can make you bicker with family members tremendously. i had this placement in a taurus degree (2,14,26) and there were topics related to finances being discussed quite often (mostly the females).
ᯓ★ ketu in 1st house of SR can make you more isolated. not always a bad thing this can just mean that you don't crave spending time with other people and enjoy your own company.
thanks for reading, have a nice day!🤍

PAC: What Do You Need to Let Go Of?
Hello beautiful people! Today is Saturday aka Saturn Day. In honor of Saturn Day, the day associated with banishment, protection and responsibility. Today is the day we let go of what no longer serves us; the day where we can no longer ignore what sits heavy on our spirits. So without further ado, please choose your Saturn.
**If you really loved this topic then you should book a reading with me, please read my guidelines and then message me privately! Also, if you had received a reading from me, don’t be afraid to leave a little feedback! Please and thank you in advance. 🫶🫶🫶
Top Left-to-Bottom Right: (1-6)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PILE ONE: “No More Mr. Nice Guy” is what I heard. I feel like you tend to have a lot of love & compassion for people. This doesn’t necessarily translate over to the other person/people though. You need to stop being so nice, Pile One. I think you have a lot of growing up to do. There is good and bad in everyone but what really matters is how this person makes you feel. Stop caring about the feelings of other people if you aren’t going to take yourself into consideration. This is why you always get taken advantage of. It’s okay to be a moody bitch sometimes. Having a sunny disposition 24/7 just isn’t realistic. Don’t act naive when you know the truth about certain situations. Move intentionally and with wisdom. If you don’t think they won’t do that, think again.
Cards Used: The Star, King of Cups, 7 of Cups, The Fool, The Moon, The Tower, Judgment.
PILE TWO: The movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind may resonate with you. I feel like you need to let go of your ex, seriously. You don’t have to forget about them but you do need to move past this person. They have caused much turmoil in your life, especially when it comes to your mental health. They could have indirectly negatively affected your finances as well. But there is someone else who is on the horizon. They want you to see the bigger picture. They want to show you better. If you have been writing notes about what you would like to see in your future partner, expect for these qualities to show up in someone that will soon approach you. They have a beautiful, colorful aura and they will let you shine. Your ex fucked you up bad but you can recover from this. Don’t be afraid to see what love has in store for you, my love.
Cards Used: King of Cups, The Magician, 2 of Cups (RX), The Star, The High Priestess, 5 of Wands, Judgment, Strength, The Fool.
PILE THREE: You’re a Virgo/Sagittarius, aren’t you? You don’t have to know and control everything, honey. Let go of the need to be involved in everything. You have been neglecting your soul’s needs. You have a lot of potential to grow but you don’t know how to accept help nor do you allow yourself to just be. You’re so uptight and burnt out right now. It would benefit you to just walk away from stress-inducing situations. If you know you can’t take that extra shift at work, why even bother? Who are you trying to please? You are making it hard for yourself to maneuver through this world peacefully because you do not know how to enjoy what’s in front of you. If only you could see the beauty of your labor. Slow down. Why are you going so hard for? You’re so used to making things happen that you get frustrated when things don’t work out your way. A word of advice: Please just allow time to do its thing. Don’t work against it.
Cards Used: The Sun (RX), Ace of Cups, Strength, 2 of Discs (RX), King of Wands, 7 of Wands (RX), 3 of Discs, 10 of Swords, The Magician, The Hierophant.
PILE FOUR: Christmastime must be your favorite time of the year, huh? I feel like you could also have a strong connection to Mariah Carey as well. Her book is on my mind heavy as I’m reading for you. I feel like you are so used to dysfunctional relationships. You have the tendency to move fast with people. I’m going to hold your hand when I say this, they ain’t going nowhere! Let go of your lovebombing tendencies and show up as your real self. I don’t think you see this as that but it is. You don’t seem to be big on communication. I don’t think you had the best role models for any kind of relationship so you just do what you know. But this does not translate well with other people, which results in chaos. Unpack why you interact with others the way that you do. You too, have a lot of growing up to do, my friend.
Cards Used: Knight of Wands, King of Swords, Queen of Cups (RX), Four of Wands (RX), Ace of Wands (RX), The High Priestess, 8 of Wands, 3 of Cups.
PILE FIVE: “Shut up and dance.” No seriously, shut up and dance. I feel like you are someone that refuses to be seen dancing in public or just in general. There is no need to feel like that. Let go of your shyness, babe. I feel like you actually have good dance moves, you just don’t want to be seen for some reason. Dancing will help you get more comfortable in the spotlight. You have gotten too comfortable in your little bubble. The next time someone asks you to dance, accept the offer (especially if it’s zydeco, salsa or kompa 🙈). You’re never too cute to dance, pookie.
Cards Used: The Hermit, Knight of Discs, The Chariot, 6 of Wands, The Empress, King of Discs (RX).
PILE SIX: Why are you wasting your time arguing with everyone? You need to master the art of preserving your energy. Let go of the need to prove yourself/defend yourself to other people. You exist just like everyone else on this planet but somehow you always end up in a verbal altercation. Is it worth it? I’m sure there’s plenty of alternative options you could choose. Just walking away could do you some good. You are the type of person to catch someone in a lie. Instead of cursing them out, you could just laugh in their face or block them. You could channel this energy into something else. It is normal to experience anger. But just know that you could always get in trouble if you never control it properly. Get a handle on your emotions. Be more logical & cutthroat. I think you definitely could benefit from taking the high road. Your soul is tired. Give it up, babe.
Cards Used: Knight of Swords, Queen of Swords, The Lovers, 8 of Cups, Ace of Swords, The Hermit, Justice, The Moon, The Star.

been obsessed with coryo after watching tbosas 😭 please write more of bestfriend!coryo <3
so so adorable 💋 i love u tehe
me gasping like in that tiktok sound: oh my goodness i love this question!!!
in all seriousness i have so many more thoughts on this dynamic omg
----
thinking about bestfriend!coryo who knows your parents love him, and, more importantly, he knows how to use that to his advantage.
it's no accident, he's put in meticulous effort in making sure that they not only approve of the friendship, but that he's their favorite friend of yours. when it comes to a family as prominent and wealthy as yours, parental approval goes a long way, especially with how regularly your parents leave town for business.
your father's admiration isn't an easy thing to win, but coriolanus is no stranger to uphill battles, and you're worth it. with the way that you look at him, how could you not be?
so he puts in the work: being the perfect student in classes taught by known friends of your father, wearing his best clothing and practicing old capitol etiquette his grandma'am was more than happy to review with him before family dinners that you invited him to, and making sure to keep proper distance between the two of you whenever your parents are around, no matter how difficult it is for him to remember to not hold your hand.
the hardest part is the fact that most of your father's intimidation comes from the fact that he's the exact kind of man coryo wants to be. powerful, respected, and in a position to never worry about finances or status. but he keeps at it, taking more care than usual to make sure that the signs of poverty are never visible in front of your parents.
even if that means purposefully leaving leftovers of the best food he's eaten in years on his plate so that no one will think he's starving. even if you give him a look that only he can feel the strangeness of because even though you've never spoken of his financial status, you can tell that he's not as well off as everyone thinks. that's the only thing about you that digs beneath his skin--you can always tell.
he's unsure if his efforts are working because of your father's constantly stoic disposition even though you assure him that that's your father when he's relaxed.
but then one day, he's over on your father's last night at home before returning to the districts to oversee some business, and your father asks to speak with him in private. you're instantly snapping your head up from your textbook, wanting to make sure that your father won't say anything embarrassing or rude.
he's scared off other friends in the past and even though it hurts, you never fight back too much because your father isn't an easy man to talk back to. but this is where you draw the line. you're not going to lose your coryo.
coryo feels something in his stomach knot, especially at that bewildered look behind your eye, but he's not about to be openly intimidated, so he assures you that he's fine. when you push, asking what topic could possibly involve just coryo and him and be that private, your father says that it's just business from man to man.
coryo has to force down a smile because he knows he'll be hearing no end of it from you as soon as the two of you are alone together. then he starts to think that this might be it. maybe your father has found out about his true financial status or dean highbottom has finally gotten to him and he's about to be banned from seeing you.
he forces down his anxiety and follows your father into the hall. your father's quick to the point, letting him know that he's leaving for another long stretch of time and that your mother's social and professional engagements mean that you'll be alone often. he closes the statement by asking coriolanus to look after you until he returns.
the realization that coriolanus has made it hits him at the same time as the relief and for a second all he can do is stare. then his senses return to him and he's swearing to your father that he'll take such good care of you, your father will have nothing to worry about. then your father's clasping his shoulder and offering him a gruff but oddly genuine thank you, son before telling him to get back to your room before you get paranoid.
it's an odd way to end the moment, but coryo's so busy trying to convince himself to not mentally plan out your wedding (because let's be honest, that's a level of trust from someone like your father might as well be a pre-engagement) that he doesn't think of it.
when he gets back to your room, you ask as casually as you can manage what your father wanted. after telling you that your father just wants to make sure that you're looked after while he's away, coryo expects you to be happy. but instead of reacting positively, you just sort of nod and mumble something polite before attempting to go back to studying.
something in his chest hardens. he's your best friend, who you spend as much time as socially acceptable with, and you two are being given the perfect excuse to be around each other more and you're not happy.
he immediately pushes and you reluctantly tell him that this has to mean that he's in with your father. another thing that coryo thinks you should be thrilled about. the more your father approves, the closer the two of you can be. he's accusing you of being sick of him, of trying to get rid of him, of no longer wanting to be best friends with him.
that has you scrambling to defend yourself. there's little you consider more important than your friendship with him. it's the only bond you fully trust.
so you tell him that your real concern is that your father never gets along with your friends that way, and that the only similar reference point you have is the way he talks to people like him.
you then tell him that the people in your father's social circle aren't like coryo. at the very least, not your coryo, who's never harsh with you and would rather spend parties sitting with you than sharing cruel opinions to impress other men.
all coriolanus hears is that you don't see him the way you see the actually important men. the hurt behind his eyes has you moving to stand and reaching for him. he lets you take his hand but doesn't react, so you explain it as transparently as possible. people that your father likes are mean, and you don't want to lose him to that.
there's something about the way you say it, all round eyes and genuine worry. it reminds him too much of tigris, of the newfound hint of tension in their relationship that's become more prevalent. she's constantly reminding him of what his father's success turned him into.
coryo's pulling you into a hug, whispering promises that you could never lose him. you're hugging him back tightly, hand smoothing circles against his back.
he realizes he means what he's saying. he can achieve the prominence he wants without alienating you. there's a way to be stern with the world and just coryo to you. and even if his edges become a little sharper, he'll keep that away from you and you'll understand.
you may criticize some of your father's views and actions, but you do love him. coryo sees it in the way that you constantly strive for his approval, he sees it in the way your face lights up when he's home. if you can love your father through your disagreements, you can love him as well. he'll make sure of it.
feeling better, he starts semi-playfully chiding you for even thinking that anything could take you away from him. that you should know better than to not see this as yet another thing he's doing for you, for your friendship.
you don't want to admit it, but you're feeling a little bad for reacting like that. after all, coryo was so excited to tell you and you know your father's capable of scaring people out of your life. at least this means that nothing's going to get in between the two of you.
coryo recognizes your slight pout and the apologetic line between your eyebrows. the two of you so rarely argue that even a hint of conflict has you willing to do anything to make things feel normal again.
so he lets himself play into his hurt. you're quick to pick up on it, holding onto him a little tighter. the two of you stay like that for awhile until you break the silence, saying that you're happy that he has an excuse to be around more.
eventually the two of you end up sitting on your bed, both of you silently agreeing that you've done enough homework. instead you focus on reassuring him, holding his hand between both of yours, pressing the occasional chaste kiss against his knuckles and resting your head against his shoulder until he has to go home.
after your father leaves, coryo takes his promise to look after you seriously. he's already in the habit of walking you home after school every day, but he start staying over after every day. the lack of authority figures around makes it a little easier to accept the after school snacks your maid always prepares and sometimes he even lets you send some home with him.
his grandma'am's over the moon when he starts accepting invitations to school social events that he honestly considers painful because he's escorting you. she's convinced that the two of you are getting married and with your family's status and the snow name, there's no door the two of you won't be able to unlock. even though you're still just friends, he rarely reminds her. it's for her own sake, he tells himself, it makes her happy.
the promise to your father also makes him bolder. he feels more assured, more justified in his disapproval of those that show a little too much interest in you.
you still don't notice the way his jaw tightens when some unaware guy gets too close, or think anything of the way that it almost always leads to him grabbing your hand.
he also stays over more, sometimes leaving for a few hours in the late afternoons so your maid doesn't think anything's going on. your family's estate is so large it's easy enough to get him in and out through a secondary exit.
the two of you fall into such a good routine that when your parents do get back, they start trusting coryo even more. your father asks if he can take you to certain social events that normally you wouldn't be allowed to attend and your strict weekday curfew becomes more of a suggestion when he's around.

I recommend this book for people who didn’t have a lot of guidance growing up. “How to be a person” will fill you in on the basics. It tells you how to tip people, do laundry, send mail, and make your bed. It also has some easy recipes and a lot more. It’s a great starter book for those who genuinely don’t know where to begin!
4. “Atomic Habits” by James Clear (Amazon)
If you are looking to break a habit or start a new one this book is a bestseller and highly recommended. It can also be helpful for those who struggle with motivation, making changes, etc. Before reading this book, I had difficulty getting back on track after a break. Since reading Atomic Habits, I've been able to stay consistent with my goals and overcome moments of doubt. Once you’ve read Atomic Habits I would suggest purchasing @2pretty 12-month dream girl guide. It can help you keep track of the habits you want to master and the steps you plan on taking to accomplish your goal. It’s also a cute journal 🥰.
5. “Budgeting 101” by Michele Cavan, CPA  (Amazon)
A very detailed book explaining everything you need to know about budgeting, saving, and investing. It also has a couple of tips.
6. “Home EC for everyone” by Sharon & David Bowers (Amazon)
All the life skills you need are in this book. It covers cooking, laundry, sewing, and other domestic skills. Home EC has recipes, a list of supplies, and how-to’s on cleaning, setting tables &, etc. This book is amazing. It’s been my favorite purchase this year. It starts with the easy stuff like boiling water 😭 and cracking an egg, but it gets into other info like getting gum out of carpet, how to hem a skirt, reading laundry symbols, making beef stew, and brining meat, just to mention a few.
7. “Getting from college to career” by Lindsey Pollak (Amazon)
If you need advice on preparing for interviews, working on your resume, getting real-world experiences, and finding job opportunities. I couldn’t suggest a better book. It has other topics and is great for anyone who needs advice while they're looking for a job, but it is catered to college graduates.
8. “Adulting made easy” by Amanda Morin  (Amazon)
Budgeting, insurance, getting a job, KEEPING a job, safe social media usage, living situations, and a few other life skills are all mentioned in “adulting made easy”. I love this book and started including it in my gift package for friends and family members going to college or moving out, it’s such a great resource.
9. “The driving book” by Karen Gravelle (Amazon)
This book is geared towards new drivers, but I believe it has some great information for everyone. It tells you what to keep in your car, how to take care of it, and how to drive in different areas. Such as the freeway, the countryside, etc.
10. “Careers the ultimate guide to planning your future” (Amazon)
This book has a range of careers, some requiring just trade school or associates, others needing a doctorate. With such a range, you’ll be sure to get an idea of what career you might be interested in. It also has a rank on the salary you’ll be making from each opportunity listed.
❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Now I am all for reading and gathering information but please be sure to put the tips you learn to use.
I’ll try to make a version of this that has online readings or links. I know some people don’t like books or don’t have space for books so if I find any articles I’ll make a post 🤍
♡ xoxo Mrs.Degree ❣️

⋆.˚✮ Mental Glow Up Tips ✮˚.⋆
When we hear the words “glow up” - many of us automatically think about our appearance, not understanding that a glow up is internal and external. Too often we neglect our mental state and stay stagnant; repeating the same cycle our whole lives. It’s important to practice mindfulness and stay in the present moment so we are able to be fully aware of our thoughts / actions to reduce stress and increase mental clarity. Taking care of our mind is a large component to self-care, if not, the most important.
Below are a few exercises & knowledge ideas to practice.
Write down all the old habits the new you wouldn’t carry & write how you will replace them - what new / more self fulfilling habits will you now include into your daily life
Focus on reading one book a month. This can be about anything you wish. Reading will help you expand your vocabulary & literary skills , lower stress levels, improves your sleep if you read before bed, improves memory & can give you the confidence to speak with others about topics you might’ve stayed silent about prior to reading.
Stay up to date on global changes. You don’t have to know everything going on but its important to know at least 3 big events currently happening. When you go to gatherings and people are speaking on global events, you will have the courage and knowledge to also pitch in. Don’t be the one sitting in the corner clueless.
Aquire a mentor. It’s important to have a guide in your life, why not make it easier with someone likeminded and encouraging? You never know where this connection may lead, this will always open new doors for you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions & share ideas. A mentor is able to provide you unbiased advise from their previously acquired knowledge + hold you accountable.
Start learning a new skill that most people wouldn’t expect you to have. This allows you to be more interesting from some else’s pov. This doesn’t mean acquire a skill you normally wouldn’t care for just to be ‘cool’ - but rather, acquire a skill you’ve been wanting to achieve for a while that you probably haven’t told many people about. Pick a niche topic.
Listen to informational podcasts - this improves your overall listening skills and feeds you valuable information at the same time.
I know it’s talked about 24/7 but STOP procrastinating. That goal you have set a year from now? How can we now make that achievement in 6 months? Every day you should be working towards something. Too often we fill our days with things we believe are getting us somewhere (cooking, cleaning, running quick errands, etc;) when in reality those activities are simply getting you by - these are already set in stone chores you are going to do regardless. What is your goal? How can you break down your goals on paper to achieve things each week instead of each month?
Learn financial literacy - you should have control and understand your finances. When it comes to money, you should have confidence. This equips you with knowledge to make informed decisions.
I could write around 20 more tips but I will keep it at the basics. Don’t overstimulate yourself, reward yourself for achievements - you don’t have to be strict but don’t slack either xoxo.

Valeria x Chaotic wife pt.5
Tumblr media
(Hi, I just wanted to say thank you for all of the likes and attention people give this series! It means a lot because, honestly, I'm new to Tumblr, and I started writing (publicly) for a hobby. Thank you, and don't worry, I have no plans to end this anytime soon. Enjoy!)
Part One/ Part Two/ Part Three/ Part Four/ Part Five
Part Six/ Part Seven/
♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤
R/N: I'm tired.
Valeria: I told you to go to bed last night. You don't NEED to sit on your phone for an hour or more before you go to sleep.
R/N: ...I do it's a part of my process to fall asleep.
Valeria: At least it's not bluey anymore.
R/N before you say it, it's not a kid show. It tackles serious topics.
Valeria: for kids sure.
R/N: You watched it too!
Valeria: And if you ever tell anyone that I will deny it, then never let you leave again.
♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤
Valeria: Do you really need another one? You have like a hundred and I'm pretty sure I've seen that exact one.
R/N holding another squishmallow: This one is different it has a hat!
♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤
Valeria: Did you finish the last five books you bought?
R/N: Sort of...
Valeria: READ THE BOOKS YOU BUY BEFORE YOU GET MORE.
♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤
Valeria: Let's go to- what are you doing?
R/N: What?
Valeria: It is almost midnight and you are drinking an energy drink?!
R/N: They taste good..
Valeria: You are either going to kill yourself or me way younger than I want either of us to die.
R/N: ...Want one?
Valeria: NO I DONT WANT ONE!
♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤
Valeria's men: MA'AM YOUR WIFE SHES STUCK ON THE ROOF
Valeria: I left her with your for 5 minutes! How in god's name did she scale the building and get stuck on the roof IN FIVE MINUTES?!
Valeria's men: We don't know we turned our back for like a second..
Valeria: (cursing under her breath in Spanish as she gets up from her desk to go help you down from the roof)
♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤
Valeria: With the amount of trouble and situations you get yourself in.. I'm genuinely surprised you're alive.
R/N: Oh, me too, I think it's like a super power.
Valeria: I wouldn't call it a superpower, but alright.
♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤
Valeria: Why is there a ton of games downloaded on my computer?
R/N: ...
Valeria: What is wizard 101??
R/N: A game where your a wizard.. and you have to go to different towns and do different things..
Valeria: ...tell me.. do you do these things with the intent to annoy me? Or just do it and think 'no, Valeria won't care if I delete files to download A WIZARD GAME'
R/N: I'll take avoiding this question for 500.
♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤
R/N helping Valeria with paperwork: GOD THIS IS BORING AND DRY. Can't their be some hot woman or man in this?
Valeria: It's finance paperwork not one of your dark kink romance books.. which is starting to make me wonder because some are about Mafia or Cartel leaders...
R/N: Intresesting because (R/N sprints away)
♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤
Valeria: I'm trying to work.
R/N: and I'm trying to annoy you while you work to get you to stop working so we can do something.
Valeria: ...
R/N: Anyways as I was saying, then Edward says 'this is the skin of a killer bella' and honestly it's kinda fun-
Valeria: ALRIGHT WE WILL GO GET SOMETHING TO EAT.
♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤~♤
Valeria: Why are my men saying your doing something stupid?
R/N: That's incredibly rude of them, I'm not doing anything.
Valeria: Then unlock the door and let me in.
R/N: We both know I can't do that.
Valeria: and why's that?
R/N: I tried to see if I could do this trick where you get your handcuffed arms from behind you to infront of you..
Valeria: You handcuffed your arms behind your back again?!
R/N: ...help.

I have been seeing a bunch of buzz recently online about a possible "decline in value" of the ivy league+ degree - Nate Silver didn't start it but he certainly accelerated it. And while there is nothing robust you do see things like surveys of hiring manager opinions out there to suggest its possible, its not a crazy idea even if its far from proven. So assuming its real, why would it be happening?
1: This discourse is obviously happening because of the recent protests at top US schools - essentially its the idea that elite students are hyperpolitical, coddled, and out of touch with reality. This causal path should be very, very silly. The vast, vast majority of students at Columbia are not protesting. They don't really care about this topic! Sure, if asked, they agree Israel Bad Right Now, but otherwise they are busy with finals and job apps. This is of course equally true at most other schools, its just not a mass movement in that way (protesting to be clear rarely is). This is a specific instance of the general trap of selection bias - the visible students aren't the median ones.
Stacked on top of that is the second level of selection bias - the median protestor is not a business major or engineer! They are exactly the kind of students for whom being a politically engaged activist is *good* for their career, not bad, or at least neutral. Schools produce a large diversity of career outcomes, and those students self-select on how they spend their time, there is no "median" student to observe really.
And ofc all of this has to rest on the foundational reality that people are products of their context - jobless 20 year old's surrounded by young peers protest a bunch, that is what that context produces. The large majority of them will become mortgage-paying white collar workers by the time they are 30, this identity will not stick with them. If they become political activists it will, sure! But if you are the hiring manager for Palantir this isn't going to be the trend for your hires. There are "politically liable" hires out there but you aren't going to predict them via the sorting algorithm of "was at Columbia in 2024", that is for sure.
Now, as much as this is a silly idea, humanity are zeitgeist creatures - I can't actually reject the idea that, despite it being silly, hiring managers might use this moment to feel like they are "over" the Ivy League and start dismantling the privileged place their applications currently get. Cultural tipping points are vibes-based, and amoung elites (unlike the masses, who don't care much) Israel/Palestine has an awful lot of tense vibes.
2: Still, I don't think this is explaining those survey results people are throwing around, and I don't think its explained (very much at least) by the general "woke uni" trends of the past half decade. It is instead downstream of wider trends.
There was a time where companies really did want "the smart guy". You could major in English at Harvard, write a good thesis on Yeats, and be off to the trading desk in Chambers St two weeks after graduation. Those days are over - for complex reasons we won't get into - and nowadays people expect their new hires to be as close to experts in the field as they can manage. Students have internships, consulting clubs, capstone projects with real clients, specialized sub majors, the works. These are all ways of saying "signaling quality" has gotten more legible and more specific over time. Why would I choose a Harvard English major over a University of Illinois finance major who did a research internship with our specific Chicago firm on midwest agricultural derivates markets? Students like that exist by the bucketful now, and the Ivys cannot monopolize them. Partially because they choose not to; Columbia could actually say fuck it and make its school 90% finance majors, but they don't want that, they specifically recruit intellectually diverse students. Which means State School finance types will fill the remaining slots slots.
The other reason they can't monopolize is much simpler - numbers. The US has way more "elite" jobs today than it did in the past. Programmers and their adjacencies are the biggest growth sector, but everything from doctors to analysts to lawyers is all up up up. And do you know what isn't up? Undergraduate enrollment at elite schools! Columbia's has grown by like 10% over the past 20 years; Harvard's is essentially unchanged. For, again, reasons, these schools have found the idea of doubling or tripling their undergraduate enrollment, despite ballooning applications, impossible. Which means of course Microsoft can't hire from Stanford alone. So they don't, and they have learned what other schools deliver talent, and no longer need Stanford alone. The decline of Ivy Power is in this sense mathematical - if a signal of quality refuses to grow to meet demand, of course other signals will emerge.
I therefore personally think, while minor, the Ivy+ schools are experiencing declining status, have been for a while, and will continue to do so (though there are offsetting trends not mentioned here btw). But its structural way more than cultural.

WHAT IF NEUVILLETTE WAS YOUR SUGAR DADDY
(This may be a bit ooc but hear me out)
Like let's say you came from a poor family but you wanted to go to a prestigious school in Fontaine but no matter how many jobs you took or how many hours you spent, you still could not afford the tuition. As the only daughter and the only child, you had to think of something fast. While randomly walking the streets of Fontaine, Monsieur Neuvillette hears your pleas. He proposes to be your "sponsor" or as you yourself call it a...sugar daddy. Of course, this alliance stays a secret between the both of you. The people of Fontaine are noisy after all.....
akdhsgsjsjshsgsh 🙈 i can’t this is so adorable <33
neuvillette definitely sounds like someone who’d do that. as someone who seldom goes out; there are a few cafes he visits from time to time & has always seen you work your ass off. why wouldn’t he help you one day when he caught you sighing, upset & just terribly disarrayed at the outputs of your efforts. you needed money & you needed to study well. <3 neuv will gently approach you, “excuse me, miss…” he would take this topic out with an extremely formal manner and you’d feel as if you’re on cloud 9 because of it. “i urge you not to let this spread out, people in fontaine are…”
“yes, i’ll not.”
over the course of time when neuvillette sees you excel in what you’re doing, and you meet up with him for lunches and stuff. trying your best to compensate over his finances by at least — looking pretty.
you’d often travel to meet the chief justice after that one incident where he helped you and took care of you when you caught a fever. Your rabid pantings and your high temperature bothered him so much. It was a sight to behold to see the chief justice of fontaine so enamored by you; enough to take a break from his work and tend to his sugar baby. The meetings are mostly around his home or yours since you both can’t let the people of fontaine find out about this.
things eventually turn into a full blown reward system wherein is his sugar baby’s been good, neuvillette is going to spoil you oh so well !! He’s going to ensure you have everything, things taking a turn from the education to the spoiling point of view.
Sexual thingys are just favors you want instead of him lmfaosjshsjsh i mean have you looked at him? @-@ but he’d be more than happy to indulge with you xoxoxo

Kakuzu Platonic Relationship Headcanons
Tumblr media
Tags: No Reader Pronouns
𓆃 Uh... friends is a strong word, isn't it?
𓆃 Because Kakuzu doesn't have friends, and he likes it that way! So the best you're going to get is "regular interaction" or "work proximity associates".
𓆃 If you're someone that Kakuzu interacts with as he works, such as in the bounty business, you would be a "regular interaction." If you operate together, you are a "work proximity associate" or "associate" for short.
𓆃 And the only true way to get on Kakuzu's good side and stay there is a dangerously simple mix of shared opinions and shared values.
𓆃 Like a typical old-timer, Kakuzu believes mostly conservative views on shinobi work and politics, and above all, a cynical view on money.
𓆃 Anything eccentric is a surefire way to lose his favor, and anything too "progressive" will surely lose his favor. Really, it's tempting to tell Kakuzu that market-bought paper bombs are more effective and practical than hand-written ones, but why would you?
𓆃 "It's a waste of precious coin," he'll grumble disapprovingly. "Buying jutsu is a disgrace."
𓆃 Granted, he doesn't lecture. He's too impatient for that, but pushing Kakuzu is akin to a jack-in-the-box. You never know what's the final straw before he'll explode.
𓆃 Your best bet is to prove yourself and lean into his grumpiness. Learning to read his subtle shifts in mood is a plus so that you can stop talking.
𓆃 Finance and politics are great conversation topics to stick to.
𓆃 If you're lucky, you might be able to hold a conversation with Kakuzu for a solid hour if you start talking the pros and cons of various types of investments.
𓆃 Or on politics. If you get the news before he does, you can inform him about whatever stupid thing is happening in the Hidden Grass. It allows you to gauge his reactions to agree with.
𓆃 Kakuzu is also secretly one for gossip. He'd never admit how much he absolutely loves hearing about how the daimyō's daughter from the Land of Wind just had a messy divorce.
𓆃 "Can't mean good things for their treaty with the Land of Earth," he'd say, crossing his arms with a shake of his head.
𓆃 "I heard in the last village that the prince was caught in quite the scandalous and compromising position" is enough to make Kakuzu eye you in quiet, subtle anticipation.
𓆃 Kakuzu is like the dad who says he doesn't care about your trash reality TV show but stands behind the couch to watch.
𓆃 But staying alive isn't just about making good conversation with Kakuzu.
𓆃 He's opportunistic and will not stand to keep company that he perceives as weak. While there are a multitude of petty things that could lead to a kill from Kakuzu, perceived weakness is at the top of them.
𓆃 Feeling like you're on a good track with Kakuzu is easy to lean into. Walking away from a few interactions feeling like you're getting closer is something that you do not want to get lost in.
𓆃 Because no matter how much you know about investments or scandals, if you make him angry enough, Kakuzu will not hesitate to end your life. And the tally he keeps is invisible.
Thank you to all who liked, reblogged, followed, and supported. Your support means so much and is greatly appreciated.

I have a suggestion about ppl "feeling guilty" about wanting to experience rich or famous lifestyles through the lens of ND, AV, and "That"
Do it. Get the money. Be rich. get that sp.
Go into this knowing that it doesn't matter what you want...there is no judgement. There is no good or bad. Being rich and famous is the same as a simple monk life. You can do both in fact.
Im Bitcoin anon. I have like 40 bitcoin now by knowing where the market would go and trading it accordingly. I came into this "info-nothingness" with not much money. I have money now...but Idgaf about money any longer. It's fine to dream up money...but the fact that you're trying so hard to get it is keeping you from it.
Also, I find finance and money very interesting in my dream. I like these topics, and I dont feel guilty about it. Stop comparing your dream to a dream character of your making. Maybe if you didnt feel so guilty about it more "that" or omnipotent or w/e blogs would talk about their dream money....youre the one creating all this guilty rhetoric. Who cares if "i am that iam" "illuminated mystic" "infiniteko" dont care about money and like simple? Who says money isn't simple? It is simple!!!! You are creating the price of everything lol. I know so first hand. I am literally still trading Bitcoin and knowing where the price is gonna go...it's not money thats the issues...it's you seeking justification and trying so hard. Just get money.
Exactly! There's no one telling you to not "accomplish" your dream life, there's people telling you that there is nothing to accomplish in the first place. You are already free, do what you want and dream the amounts of dreams it fits you the best.
I just believe that people shouldn't get mad about blogs not responding well to "i want to manifest... " questions or answering sarcasticly because they had said multiple times that the information isn't focused on that or had already told them what to do yet they still complain.
Thanks for sharing this bitcoin anon! i honestly get headaches only reading the word bitcoin, but you seem quite passionate about it haha.
Hope you have a great day! 🫶

✮ what do people think you’re hiding? ✮
pile one, two, or three?
Tumblr media
˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀ pile one
hey, pile one! so, right off the bat; people think you're keeping your achievements and your progress on the low. you may try to hide yourself from the public eye (getting off of social media, not attending social events, ordering food/groceries instead of going out.) people think that there's a lot going on for you behind the scenes. this may cause some to believe that you're protecting yourself from something, or you're "locking yourself away." they think you do this because you believe people have negative thoughts towards you and what you're doing. remember, this is what other people think; doesn't mean it's true. if you're going through changes in life, such as breakups/new connections, new jobs, new opportunities, moving elsewhere/traveling, people think you're hiding this as well. people just assume that you're keeping all the good details to yourself for protection. you could also be going through internal changes, or changes in your appearance that others think you're hiding. people also think you're keeping your finances a secret, maybe they think you're doing this because money is scarce for you right now, so you need to conserve what all you got. even if money isn't tight for you, it's still a good thing to keep info about your money to yourself.
˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀ pile two
greetings, pile two! the first thing i'm seeing is that people think you're hiding a relationship or love you have for someone/something. there may be something you really care about (whether that be a person, topic, musician, book, etc) and you don't express how much you truly love it/them. people may also think you're hiding your creativity. if you draw, paint, write, sing, make music, or anything else that can be considered creative, people wish that you would show it! you may have shown someone your work in a private setting and they thought it was extremely good, pile two! if you do show off your work publicly, some may think you're hiding the process it took for you to get that good. they may even think you're "gatekeeping" your techniques, lol. people also think you're hiding your determination and your success! you may resonate with pile one. they may think you're hiding all of this because of lack of planning, or just because it's something you do for yourself, and not for the consumption of others. some may think you're hiding because you're scared of what may come if you do show off your work.
˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚ ❀ pile three
how are you, pile three? all i have to say right now is "wow." all of these piles have something to do with hiding success. i guess people think all of you guys are successful and keeping it to yourselves, lol. anywho, for you, pile three, people may think you're hiding the fact that you successfully provide for yourself and/or your family. people also believe that you have new ideas and breakthroughs that you're keeping on the down low at the moment. you may have recently been through something that caused you to have to fend for yourself and your family, and maybe you're keeping that secret as well. people think that you are exploring the creative and emotional depths within you, and that you're doing this alone or with a select few people you trust and love. they truly believe that you're keeping all the positivity and warmth in your life to yourself. nosy people want to know how you're doing but you don't give them any insight, or so they think. some may even think you're dating and not letting anyone know who the person is, or any other details about it. if not, then you have romantic suitors that you're not saying much about.
thank you for reading and interacting! <3

You work in a small office managing a growing company’s finances. Your coworkers are all gossip lovers, and you had updated them lately of the process of moving in with your boyfriend, Akagi Michinari, which had spanned over the last few weeks before finally finishing yesterday. Because the company was so small, you all took time to chatter and create a nice environment throughout your workday, which of course often steered onto the topic of romantic partners. And no one was prouder of theirs than you.
While packing up your bags for the day, finished with all your tasks, one of your older coworkers walked through the door, announcing for everyone that “someone’s lovely boyfriend is outside and making us reconsider the quality of our own love lives,” as an affectionate complaint. It caught your attention how she was clearly aiming at you.
With a growing grin on your face, you sped up and slung your bag over your shoulder before waving goodbye to everyone as you made your way outside. There he stood, your lovely long-term boyfriend holding a fresh bouquet of your favourite flowers. He waved at you shortly, a bit shy as he had stood there for a little while.
“Michinari!” you cooed, embracing him in a hug before leaning back to kiss his lips. “I didn’t know you would be here!”
Akagi shrugged his shoulders, cheeks flushed with something sweet as he put his free arm around you. “I just thought we should walk home together,” he said, making you purse your lips and nod in agreement. Your shared apartment that already felt like home, simply because it had both of you in it.
This was your first day back at work after taking a few days off to move the last load of furniture, and Akagi decided it was only right for you to walk home together. As if you didn’t already love him enough, he gave you another reason to make your coworkers jealous, even though they were endlessly happy for you.
So the two of you strolled home, flowers in your arms and your bag on his shoulder as your intertwined hands swung between you. The both of you took turns telling the other about your day, also trying to figure out what you wanted to have for dinner.
“I’ve been craving fish,” he told you, a small pout on his lips as he looked at you. You sighed and thought about it.
“I really wanted chicken, though,” you said, mostly just thinking out loud. Fish is good too, it just wasn’t what you craved today. Akagi lifted your intertwined hands to press a kiss to the back of yours before letting them fall back down between you.
“You know, we will have to make dinner together every day now,” he said, and it made you straighten up your shoulders. Right, you lived together now. Every time you remembered, your heart seemed to skip a beat to make space for him, because your heart was his heart and vice versa. “So we can have fish today…” he started, playfully hinting for you to finish his thought so that he would get his desired meal today.
“…and chicken next time,” you added, following his script even though you knew what he was doing. After picking you up from work, he deserved no less than exactly what he wanted, you suppose.
He did a small cheer, once again raising your connected hands to wave them around for a bit, making you laugh loudly and lean into his side. Part of you was embarrassed on behalf of the people passing by you, but the bigger part of you didn’t care. Screw it, let them see how lovestruck you are.
After dropping your stuff off at home and changing into more comfortable clothing, you walked back out the door together for some grocery shopping. You’d done this together before, of course, but now Akagi kept putting in random house stuff that you ‘definitely needed’ according to him.
You put a pizza cutter, which you already had two of at home but he swore this one was better, back on the shelf and then turned to him with a pointed look. “Baby, no more kitchen stuff unless it’s on our list, okay?” you said first, making him put his hands on his hips like he used to do while waiting on the volleyball court. “Stop standing like a pregnant lady and go get your freaking fish.”
He huffed and did a small pose before moving on to hopefully complete his mission. Meanwhile, you went on to complete the rest of your shopping list, thinking of what dish to make and getting the necessary elements. You were about to go to the line when your boyfriend rounded the corner and almost collided with your shopping cart. Your eyes zeroed in on what he had in his hand, which he noticed so he held up the brand new pan, which conveniently was in your favourite colour. “Come on, it’s perfect. You said we should get a new one because yours is so worn.”
It took some convincing, but finally, you agreed and laughed softly as he put it in the cart before moving to kiss your cheek, and then the two of you made your way to the till. You had a shared account for this stuff, so you swiped your card while he packed what you bought into bags, some reusable ones you had in your workbag and some plastic because there wasn’t enough space without crushing the vegetables or eggs.
You went back home, putting on some music as you both put away the groceries before starting to make dinner. “What fish did you get?”
The silence wasn’t loud, but there was enough time for you to slowly turn to your boyfriend with an accusing gaze. Your mind browsed through everything you put away in the fridge, not finding any image of fish filets.
“You did get the fish, right?”
Akagi pursed his lips and looked down, body shaking a bit as he tried to hold back his laughter. “I got distracted by the pots and pans.”
Oh, how lovely it will be to share moments like this with him every day.

WIBTA for not getting my coworkers holiday gifts?
Sorry in advance for the long ask, I have adhd so I'm not always great at figuring out what's relevant to the topic lmao. I (29M) have been working at my current workplace since I graduated college (so ~7 years). For the first few years I worked pretty much alone. I have a close working relationship with my supervisors, and I have a lot of interns filter through, but I was the only person at my 'level' of work, if that makes sense. I would write cards for my supervisors, and with my interns I would do something like bake cookies for everyone, or take them all out for dinner (to clarify I always have at minimum 3-4 interns, I wasn't just taking someone I was in charge of out for a one on one dinner lmao).
Last year, four more people were hired who work in the same position/level as me (early 20s-mid 30s, all F). I get along with them alright as coworkers, but they are all much closer with each other than I am with them. They didn't know eachother before starting here, but I make a lot of effort keeping distance between my work and personal life, vs they have all become friends outside of work. I also have enough issues with them that I wouldn't want to be friends with them outside of work (very condensed version is that I am openly aroace and they are Weird about it). I am firm about keeping boundaries/distance though and that makes it easier to deal with them.
Again, we work together really well when we're actually talking about work-- it's just the non-work stuff that I don't really vibe with. Also, their level of friendship is very normal in our workplace/field, since we are in a very very rural area where the tiny little town we're in is almost entirely centered around the one industry/company that we're at. The fact that I'm not friends outside of work with my coworkers gives me a reputation for being weird/cold (but I don't care if I seem weird as long as it means I can keep some distance).
Last year, we all talked about Xmas gifts, and decided that we wouldn't get each other anything, but rather just pitch in for some wine and fancy pastries for a mini office party. It was nice, except then right before Christmas I found a gift on my desk from one of them (like, a 50$ gift, which is quite expensive considering how much we make). I asked her about it, saying I appreciated it but didn't have anything since we agreed not to get eachother gifts. She said something like she didn't expect anything, just wanted to get me something. I thanked her and but was uncomfortable enough that I ended up giving the thing to a friend of mine (who knew it was a re-gift and was happy to have it lol). I didn't plan to get anything, except then I found out that the other three had all consequently gotten eachother and me gifts as a result of her. I talked to the one coworker I get along best with, and she agreed with me that it would now be rude to not give anything in return, so I just got everyone relatively impersonal gifts (books).
However, finances are tight this year for me (coworkers don't know that) due to some medical bills. We are doing an office cookie exchange, and again agreed not to get each other gifts, but one of them (same one who started this last year) hinted that she had 'a little something' for each of us anyways, but no need to reciprocate.
If it's relevant, we are in the US, all white, and all varying degrees of atheist/agnostic/ex-christian.
No idea if this will even get out of the queue before Xmas lol but: WIBTA if i stuck to our agreement to not get my coworkers Christmas gifts, even if they get me gifts anyways?
What are these acronyms?
