Ugh, I love this so much.
Percy vomited again into the toilet, clutching his stomach. He had a suspicion that he knew what was happening, but he hoped it wasn't true.
However, thirty minutes later, he was staring down at a small piece of plastic that basically ruined his entire life.
"Fuck." he muttered.
There was a knock on the door of the bathroom, and he looked up as his mom came in. "Hey swee-" she cut herself off when she saw the pregnancy test in his hands. "Oh honey, who's is it?" she asked, sitting next to him.
"Luke's." Percy said. He knew that for a fact. He'd only had sex once, and it was with Luke, right before he left on his quest. Good luck, Luke had said. Yeah right. "Luke is the Dad. Other dad."
Sally sighed deeply. "Is he the one who betrayed you? I swear, I will kill that boy."
"Mhm. It was before." Percy said.
Sally sighed. "I'm assuming you don't want an abortion?" When Percy shook her head, she nodded slowly. "Okay then. We can deal with this." She kissed his forehead and walked off.
~~
That night, Percy was sitting down, staring up at the moon out his window, tears dripping down his face.
"Hello Percy." said a familiar voice. Luke. "I've come to kidnap you to the right side."
Percy burst into tears. "You fucking asshole"
"Whoa, whoa, what did I do? Beyond betray you. Oh, that proably answers-"
Percy threw the pregnancy test in Luke's face. "You fucking dick. It's fucking yours."
Luke looked down at the pregnancy test. After the shock, a slow acceptance spread over his face. "Are you keeping it?" he asked.
"Yes." Percy muttered.
Luke grabbed his arm. "Well, I ain't gonna be a deadbeat, come on."

The next day, Percy woke up with a jolt after his nightmare. When he looked around, he noticed that the boy from yesterday, Luke, was watching.
He scrambled up, feeling the embarrassment flush over him as he realised that everyone had seen his moment.
"You alright?" Luke asked, holding a hand out and helping the boy up.
"Super," he said sarcastically, brushing his hands on his clothes.
"We all have them you know. Intense recurring nightmares. And the daydreams, and the ADHD and dyslexia. Demigods just process things differently," he explained.
Percy instantly felt at ease with this boy but was still unsure whether Daisy trusted him or not. If she did, then he knew he was okay.
"So are you also?" Percy tried to ask him whether he had a parent or not here, but didn't know how to phrase it, "Do you not know who-"
He chuckled a little at the boys confusion, "Am I unclaimed? No, Hermes is my father but that doesn't matter. We're all on the same team here,"
Percy scoffed. There was this anger bubbling up inside of him at the unfairness of the way that the gods could just ignore their children.
"Why is that okay? Why do they bring us here to ignore some of us?" He questioned.
Lukes face lit up. This was perfect. Percy was perfect and his raw hatred to the Gods was going to help his cause more than he knew.
"If you spend too much time trying to figure out why the Gods do whay they do and you'll drive yourself mad," he said, a smile on his face.
They were silent for a second, neither knew what to do. Percy was supposed to have his tour but his your guide had not yet arrived.
"Luckily you got here for summer which means our resident newby helper is back here to visit," Luke explained, "We'll show you around and tell you what camp has to offer,"
"What's that?" He asked, still not sure what the purpose of camp was or what he could gain from it.
That smirk grew on Lukes face again, "Glory,"
Percy let that sink in for a second, wondering how a camp could bring him glory before he realised that someone was going to be helping Luke to show him around, "Who will be leading us round?"
"She was the medic who looked after you, Desdemona Valance. Most beautiful woman in all of New York," he said with a lovesick expression.
Percys face scrunched up in confusion. He had noticed some tension between them and had assumed it was anger, maybe it was just love.
"She didn't seem like she liked you too much yesterday," he said, folding his arms across his chest.
He laughed, finding it funny that Percy thought that, "Don't you worry kid, she likes me plenty," he promised.
He knew Daisy had walked in by the way that everyone clambered to say hello to her but she just said her hellos and good mornings and walked over to see Luke and Percy.
"Just in time pretty girl," he admired her for a second, long hair tied up with a bow in the back before he looked at Percy, "You remember Daisy,"
Of course he remembered her. He had only felt safe around one person so far and that was her.
"You better watch your mouth Castellan, you keep calling me pretty and I'll get an ego," she teased.
He scoffed, the smile on his face growing, "Apollo kids always have an ego,"
They seemed to be in their own world, not paying attention to anyone else. The older boy tapped his cheek.
She sighed at his antics, trying to hide her smile but it was obvious on her face.
Daisy leaned over, pressing a kiss to his cheek. Luke placed two fingers on the underside of her jaw, maneuvering her so he could press a kiss to her lips.
"Oh," Percy said as he realised that they were dating, now it all made sense.
Daisy blushed, having forgotten that the boy was there. Luke, however, knew he whole time.
"See, she likes me plenty," he stated, an arm wrapping around her waist.
Daisy said her good mornings to Percy before jumping straight into her job, "So, what has Luke been filling your head with?
"Glory," he stated.
She scoffed, looking at him. She knew what he wanted to do, she knew exactly what she saw in Percy and it made that bitter feeling grow in her stomach.
Daisy shrugged it off, hoping that her instincts were wrong as she gestured for them to walk out of the cabin with her.
Luke seemed excited as he explained the concept of Glory to him, molding the boy as he needed, "Demigods have always fought for Glory. They used to call it Kleos, its like this stuff that attaches itself to your name and makes it more important,"
Percy seemed eager to soak up the older boys information, watching him as they walked.
"People listen when you talk, they work harder to be your friend and they think twice before messing with you," he explained.
They crossed paths with Clarisse and her group of friends, the former of which purposefully bumping into Percy.
He was knocked to the ground and she looked at him, turning her nose up.
"Knock it off Clarise, it's his first day," Luke said, almost squaring up to her.
Daisy leaned down, holding her hand out and helping Percy up. He shrunk back, feeling safe in between Daisy and Luke.
"So this is the kid who killed the minotaur," Clarisse said, eyeing Percy up like he was a prey and she was the predator.
"Yeah?" The boy said, trying not to sound too timid.
"You want attention around here, better be ready for it when it comes," she walked off after that comment, her and her group laughing to themselves.
He scoffed, watching her ealk away, "Well she seems nice. Why don't they mess with you two?"
Daisy and Luke shared a knowing look. It was something the new kid would have to get used to, the way that the couple could almost read each others minds.
"They know better," Percy said.
Chris saw the altercation and had rushed over, standing at Lukes side, a hand on his shoulder.
"Luke is the strongest swordsman in camp. Daisy is the best archer and the best medic," he explained.
Percy looked at him. For the first time in his life he had become friends with the popular kids, the people that nobody dared to mess with.
"They leave you two alone because of Glory?" It was almost a rhetorical question and Daisy could see the cogs turning in his head, "People think you're a big deal,"
He was silent for a moment, almost like he was thinking about Glory. This was the way to get his father to notice him, for him to finally confront him.
"Where do we start?" Percy said after a while.
"Archery, my specialist subject," she said before she started to walk up the hill.
The kid finally managed to get a good look at camp. He saw the vast expanses of the strawberry fields and the pegasi as they walked around with the Demeter kids.
He also saw Glory in action. Everyone was nice to Daisy and Luke, saying hello and complimenting them. Some stayed clear of them, eyeing them suspiciously.
Percy knew he had found the good ones and he wasn't going to be leaving any time soon.
When they arrived at the top of the hill, the Archery section was mostly full of other Apollo kids.
"A good source of Glory are feats of skill, so we gotta figure out what you're good at," Daisy explained before saying hello to a few people.
"Watch her do this," Luke whispered to Percy as they watched her grab her specific bow.
She lined herself up against the target and took a shot and they all watched as it hit the bullseye. She shot another arrow out and it hit the same target, splitting the previous arrow in half.
She turned around and looked at the duo, her bow still aimed at the target. She hit it again, slightly higher this time so she didn't split the arrow a third time.
She put the bow down at her feet and everyone cheered. This was her glory, her special skill.
"Thats my girl," Luke cheered, pulling her in for a hug.
She pulled back so just his arm was wrapped around her waist. She picked up the bow, handing it to him.
"You try kid," he looked at the bow, clearly a little hesitant.
He positioned the bow, trying to replicate what she had done but he didnt shoot very well.
Instead, the arrow bounced back and started to bounce through the crowd of people.
Luke pulled her back, both of them ducking as they tried to avoid his aim.
"Should I try again?" Percy asked sheepishly.
She shook her hand, giving him a sympathetic smile, "Definitely not Apollo," she said as they took the bow back.
"Lets try another one," Luke suggested.
From there, they walked to the nearest cabin and their workstation which was just across the hill in the Hephestaus cabin workshop.
"Hey Jake, got a new kid," Luke said and Jake took a step back from the anvil, handing Percy his goggles.
Percy tried to hammer the hot metal, focusing all of his energy onto it. They watched, arms crossed as he tried his hardest.
Instead, the broken piece of metal shot out across the room and this time, it was Daisy who pulled him back so he wasn't hit by the flaming metal.
Percy looked at them as he pulled the goggles off. He felt awkward, and like he was disappointing his new friends.
"Lets have lunch," Daisy suggested, placing a hand on the kids shoulder before they walked away.
She wanted to take some pressure off of him. Glory would find him eventually, he just had to wait for it a little bit.
They entered the clearing and luke lead the way into the mess hall where all the other demigods were sat eating their lunch.
He walked over to the table where Nina was sitting alone and after grabbing food for everyone, they sat down at the table.
"Percy, this is my friend Nina, daughter of Demeter. Nina, this is Percy," she introduced as they sat down.
"Is there a Greek god of disappointment because maybe you should ask him if he's missing a kid," Percy said, defeatist.
Daisy remembered waiting only about four hours before her dad claimed her as his, but that was very common for Apollo kids.
She couldn't imagine the turmoil the boy must be going through seeing as it had already been a day since he joined.
"Oizys, but she's a goddess and her whole thing is more like failure," Chris said as he walked over, sitting down next to Nina
"You're cheery," Nina quipped, rolling her eyes at his comment.
"We'll find what you're good at, I know it," Daisy promised.
He gave her a half hearted smile, clearly upset and angry at the fact that his dad didnt want to claim him.
She watched the cogs in Lukes head turn. She knew he wanted to say something spiteful about the Gods but before he could, the bell went.
"Our turn," Nina said.
Almost like they were under some sort of spell, they all got up with their plates of food and started to approach the fire.
Percy looked at them confused, watching people scrape bits of food off of their plates.
"Is the food here really that bad?" He asked.
"Burnt offering. The Gods like smell so you say it before a prayer," Chris explained and Percy stood up.
"They like the smell of burnt mac and cheese?" He questioned, still confused about all the rituals of this place.
"They like the smell of begging," Luke stated.
As they scraped their food into the fire, Daisy looked at Luke. There was a strange and michevious glint in his eye.
She knew that this wasn't going to end well and her heart sank in her chest. She had to save Percy.

-Meeting The Family- Draco Malfoy x Female Reader
    ☼-🐍-☼
Request: hi darling, how you doing? can i request a draco x reader where is draco going to her house on christmas break to meet her parents? maybe she has a younger brother who is quite jealous of her and draco together? just something very fluff and funny !! thank you, i love your work btw ❤️
Kody: YESS. I’ve been waiting for something like this for the sole purpose that i’m going to make the reader a Weasley!
     Year: 7th
    House: Gryffindor
Possible Triggers/Warnings: Fred and George being the best siblings, Molly being Molly, Draco being literally terrified of the Weasley’s, a little bit of the spice spice at the end.
    ☼-🐍-☼
“will you stop pacing? Your making me nervous” you grumble, watching as the platinum blond hair boy walked back and forth in your dorm room “Your nervous? Your not the one meeting your girlfriends whole bloody family today” he snaps at you.
he walks over to the edge of your bed and sits down, putting his face in his hands “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have yelled at you” he sighs deeply. You crack a smile and walked over to stand in front of him and take his hands into yours “It’s alright, but i’ll be there so there’s nothing to worry about. They’ll love you”
Draco scoffs, leaning his head against your stomach “They have every right to hate me, my father is a horrible person to them and they’ll think i’m just the same as him” he spoke. You had never seen him so worked up over anything before, except for maybe when you got injured by a werewolf in the woods.
you purse your lips before sitting comfortably on his lap “Draco. You are nothing like your father and you will show them that. So stop moping okay?” you watch his eyes for a moment as he nods his head “Okay darling. I won’t mope. I just hope your right about this”
   “I’m always right”
    ☼-🐍-☼
today was the day, you had put on a blue, burnt orange, and brown striped sweater with blue jeans. The Weasley aesthetic really while Draco wore a emerald green sweater with black jeans (ik hawt). You stood in front of the burrow, holding his hand “Here we go” you spoke.
you reach up to knock a couple times and the door swings open. It was Fred with a candy cane in his mouth. He looks at the both of you and nods once “Hey Y/n and Malfoy. I’m Fred by the way, not George. Just so you know” he sticks out his hand and Draco takes it. They shake hands. That’s a good start.
he takes the candy cane out of his mouth and points behind him “Let’s head in shall we?” he says and you smile. As you both step in, you could hear everyone talking “Is Charlie here yet?” you turn and face your brother. Fred’s face drops and he shakes his head “He said he got busy with work.”
you nod slowly, your expression dropping “Oh, okay” you shrug. “Y/n!” you hear a familiar shout and watch as Molly and Arthur come from around the corner. You let go of Draco’s hand and walk up to them. They both embrace you tightly. You pull away from them and walk back to Draco.
you could tell how tense he was when he saw your parents. “Mum, Dad. This is Draco” you say and slowly brought him up to them. Draco cleared his throat before speaking “Hello Mrs. and Mr. Weasley. Thank you so much for inviting me” he spoke. So polite.
your mother smiled warmly at him as well as your father “Well, were glad you came. Seems like our girls like Slytherins” Molly let out a laugh. You raise a brow “What do you mean?” “Hey Draco” you both turn to the right and see Pansy Parkinson come out of the hallway. Oh right, Ginny’s girlfriend.
Draco smiled kindly, she was his friend after all. “hey Pans” he replies. Pansy waves before disappearing into the living area. “Now, you two join your siblings in the living room while we finish dinner” Molly spoke and leant down to kiss your forehead before leaning with Arthur “I think that went well”
    Draco nods “Me too”
    ☼-🐍-☼
“Percy, don’t be such a buzzkill and take the candy cane” George sat next to Percy, jabbing him in the side with the peppermint treat. Percy just rolled his eyes and continued to read the book we was holding. You chuckle as you sat on the sofa with Draco, his arm wrapped around your shoulders.
It was certainly a full house tonight. Molly, Arthur, George, Luna, Fred, Percy, Ginny, Pansy, Bill, Fleur, Ron, Hermione, you, and Draco. You wondered where you would all eat considering your family table could barely fit the kids who already lived in the house. “Your family is much different than mine” Draco whispers to you.
you turn your head to face him with a smile. “Yeah, we’re definitely stranger then other families” you laugh quietly, a grin forming on his face. “I like it. I’m so used to the quiet that i forgot that actual families talk and hang out with each other” he spoke, his eyes glossing over a bit as he looks at the tall christmas tree.
you reach into his lap and grab his hand, bringing it up to your lips to kiss his knuckles. “I hope i don’t make you feel as alone anymore” you spoke with a small frown on your face. Draco shook his head and with the arm wrapped around your shoulders, he grabs the back of your head and pulls you into a kiss.
it was sweet and loving. To bad you had shit for brian brothers. “Hey hands off Malfoy! No snogging my sister while i’m here!” Ron shouts, causing you to pull away from the kiss. Hermione seemed annoyed with her boyfriend and pushes his shoulder “Y/n can do whatever Y/n want’s get over yourself Ron”
George and Fred both choked back laughter then actually choked on candy canes. Idiots. Ron grumbled something and crossed his arms. What a child. After more talking you had the urge to go to the bathroom and laid your head in the crook of Draco’s neck “I’ll be right back. I have to use the bathroom. Okay?”
Draco nods and places a hand on your thigh to squeeze it gently before unwrapping his limbs from yours “I’ll be back. Be nice. All of you” you gaze at all your brothers because Ginny at least knew how to be nice to Draco. You give a sharp glare to Ron before you leave the living room.
Fred watches as you walk out of the room and like a pack of dogs, every single Weasley sibling crowded Draco. He thought he was going to be murdered on the spot as his grey eyes widened. Bill smiles lightly and holds out his hand to shake “Hi, i’m Bill. Anyway as you probably know were missing a Weasley tonight”
Draco grabs his hand and shakes it “Charlie, right?” he says and all there heads nod. Oh this is so creepy. “Right. Well you see Y/n is really close to Charlie, but she hasn’t been able to see him for almost three years and such, so Fred told her he’s not coming, but we plan on surprising her when we open gifts”
a small smile graces the Slytherins face- wait. “Why are you telling me this?” he questions and Percy speaks up surprisingly “Because you make our sister happy and considering you both are graduating next year, we figure your  going to be around more often and- so welcome to the family Malfoy”
Draco was in complete shock as Percy spoke, considering he thought Percy hated him the most. Y/n was right. “Thank you. I also want to apologize for my fathers behaviour towards your family as well as mine in the past. It took me awhile to see you guys the way Y/n does”
the twins shake their heads “Don’t worry about it. Your dad’s a real piece of work. Y/n tells us your mum’s nice enough though” they spoke in unison. Draco nods “yeah, she’s not judgemental” he reassures. “Anyway, we hope your having a nice night though. Right Ron?” Bill turns to face the younger Weasley.
Ron looks at Bill and shakes his head, but Bill hits his shoulder “Yeah yeah whatever. We hope your having a blast” Ron then tore away from the group and went back to sitting with Hermione on the other sofa, mumbling something along the lines of ‘snogging his sister’
a couple minutes later you came back into the living room and were pleasantly surprised to see Bill, George, and Fred chatting with Draco who seemed to be smiling brightly. What a sight. You lean against the doorway and watch as he interacted with your brothers.
you watch as they all went to sit on the floor so Percy, Ginny, Hermione, Luna, and Pansy could sit down and chat as well. Who would thought the Slytherin prince would get along so well with your family. “You guys seem to be having fun” you say as they turn to look at you.
you look to your left to see Ron sitting alone on the loveseat with a scowl on his face. You wave the group off before going to sit with your brother. He looks at you then the floor “Y/n” he spoke and you smiled lightly “Ron” you say in the same manner. “Why aren’t you sitting with the rest of them?”
Ron scoffs under his breath “Why should i? Malfoy will never be friends” he comments and you reach up to lift his face, making him look at the group laughing and talking. “Look at Percy. He’s the most stuck up person i know and he is having a blast talking to Draco and Pansy. Why do you have a problem?”
Ron sighs and pushes your hand away “Because your my sister. Yes, i know Ginny is to, but we’re the same age you and i. I can talk to you about anything, but ever since you and Draco got together. It hasn’t been you and i. It’s been you and him. What’s gonna happen when your married? I’ll never see you”
you frown. You didn’t know Ron felt this way at all. It wasn’t as surprising though to be honest “Ron. Your my brother and i love you dearly. I’ll never forget about you or George, Fred, Percy, Ginny, Bill, and Charlie. Your my family. If your ever feeling alone. Just talk to me, okay?”
your words seemed to cheer Ron up. He nods and looks over at the group once more “Let’s do this.” he said and stood up.
    ☼-🐍-☼
after dinner the whole family including the lovers were in the living room again, passing out gifts. You watch as a square shaped box decorated with orange wrapping paper and a red bow floated from out a room and into each and every ones laps “oh wow, i wonder what these could be”
George spoke sarcastically before getting wacked on the head by Molly. You chuckle and look over at Draco who stared at aw in the christmas gift in his lap “Are you alright my boy?” Arthur spoke up. Draco looks up and nods eagerly “I’ve never gotten a real christmas gift before. My mother snuck me sweets and such, but never anything like this”
Molly gave Draco a look of solace before smiling “Well, i hope you enjoy this one! Now kids open them up!” she shouts and you all start to rip open the wrapping paper and you saw a deep red sweater with your first initial on it. Every year. The Weasley kids slip on there sweaters “Thanks mum!”
after slipping yours on, you look over at Draco who had a emerald green sweater in his hands with the letter ‘D’ on it. He looked excited as he takes off his quidditch sweater to put on Molly’s. “Do you like it Draco?” you spoke “i absolutely love it” he a wide smile spreads across his face.
Luna got a baby blue sweater
Hermione got a deep red one as well
   Fleur got a white sweater
Pansy got a emerald green sweater as well as Draco.
Pansy slipped hers on and nods smugly “i look awesome. I’m never taking it off. You’ll have to kill me first!” she exclaims as Ginny laughs beside her “She’s not joking either” Luna pulls the sweater over her head and wraps her arms around herself “So warm” she mumbles in her soft voice.
George smiles brightly and wraps his arms around her “Your so cute” he says before kissing the side of her face. Fleur looked down at the sweater on her and smiles warmly “I adore it” she spoke in her thick accent and Bill nods before grabbing her hand to kiss her knuckles.
Molly clapped happily “I’m so glad you all like it. Now me and Arthur are going to get the christmas cookies from the kitchen. We’ll be right back out!” she announces before leaving the room. Everyone began to talk amongst each other and while you were distracted Draco snuck off into the kitchen.
      ☼-🐍-☼
“Um hello” he spoke up. Molly turns around and places the icing bag she was holding on the counter. “Ah Draco! Did you need something?” she asked, waving her hand for him to step closer. Draco walks over and immediately felt a cold shiver run up his spine. He was nervous.
“I wanted to ask you both something?” he says, gulping. Arthur and Molly look at each other before smiling “Sure, go ahead” Arthur spoke. Draco takes a deep breath to calm his nerves “Me and Y/n have been dating for three years now and i know we only just turned 18, but i wanted to ask for your blessing to marry her when the time is right”
Molly gasped loudly, before covering her mouth “Oh Draco! We would be more than happy to give you our blessing. She talks about you all the time and you had been nothing but kind to her and our family. I know you are much different then your father. you’ve learn to accept and adapt”
Draco felt as if a weight has been lifted off his shoulders and he smiles “Thank you so much. Uh- can i help ice those? If you’ll teach me how?” he laughs nervously and Molly nods.
    ☼-🐍-☼
ten minutes later Draco came out holding a tray of cookies with your parents. You smile lightly at the sight. How cute. He places the tray down on the floor where the group sat and everyone began to much on cookies, except for Fred and George. Where had they gone off too? Draco takes a seat next to you.
he hands you a cookie and you smile, taking a bite “You snuck away to ice cookies with my parents?” you ask, laughing a little. He nods with a smile and pecks your lips quickly, “Seemed fun” he replied nonchalantly. You roll your eyes and continue to eat your cookie in piece.
after everyone ate one Molly shot up from the sofa and gasped “Godric! We forgot Y/n’s present outside!” she exclaims, causing everyone to look at her. You tilt your head “What present?” you ask. “We all pitched in and got you a present. It’s so big we have to show you outside” Arthur spoke.
you were now thoroughly confused as everybody made there way to the front door and walking out. Draco grabs your hand and lifts you up from the ground. You both walk outside and see George and Fred on both sides of a tall present, wrapped in orange paper with your name written in red ink.
you laugh nervously. What was going on? “Um- do i open it?” you ask and Ginny nods, pushing you forward “Go on! Open it!” she shouts. You watch as George and Fred walk away from the present and behind you. “we suggest to pull the red ribbon then step back” George points out.
you chuckle with a confused expression before taking the end of the ribbon and tug it once. You hear a couple clicks and step back quickly as the box falls apart. A tall male with orange hair and a red sweater with a ‘C’ smiles at you. Charlie. You watch as he steps out the box and opens his arms.
“Hello my little dragon” he smile brightly as you ran up and tackled him into a hug. He lifts you off the ground and spins you around as you cling onto him. After a couple seconds he lets go and eyes you up and down “You’ve gotten so tall! and your hair is different. I also hear you have a boyfriend” he teases.
you smile widely and nod “Yeah. He’s hear. Um- Draco!” you turn around and call for your boyfriend who steps towards you, holding out his hand “I’m Draco Malfoy” he says politely as they both shake hands “I’m Charlie! I hope my little sister hasn’t annoyed you too much. She’s mental this one”
you huff and wack your older brothers arm “Hey! Don’t scare him off!” you shout, making Charlie laugh. He shrugs his shoulders “I don’t think he’s going anywhere. Your in for the long hall Malfoy. Welcome to the Weasley’s!” he exclaims and Draco smiles as he wraps an arm around your shoulders.
    ☼-🐍-☼
the party came to an end and everyone made there way to there perspective rooms. There was surprisingly enough room for everyone, to be fair your pretty sure that your father used a spell to add some extra rooms of some sort. You put on black and white flannel pants with a black crop top, as well as a dark grey jacket.
Draco had on a black t-shirt and his boxers. You yawn as you began to fold up your sweater and place it in your trunk. You feel hands wrap around your waist and pull you close to his chest. “I had fun tonight” Draco mumbles against the skin of your shoulder since your jacket had slipped down your arms a bit.
you smile and lean your head back to look at him “You did? I’m happy. I’m also happy i got to see my brother” you spoke with a warm smile. Draco hums in response and slowly begins to pull the jacket off of your arms “I promised my mum no funny business while were here Draco”
he smirks and begins to place sweet kisses on your neck “You may have promised that, but i didn’t darling” he rasps. You feel one of his hands run across the exposed skin of your stomach as his thumb traces the hem of your pants. “Why are you always horny?” you asked.
“I don’t know? Have you seen yourself?” he chuckles as he spins you around to face him “Come on darling~” he coos and dips down to kiss your collar bone. “I-” “-Goodnight Y/n. Goodnight Draco!” you heard Charlie, Percy, and Fred shout. Oh those little shits.
you flush in embarrassment and sputter out a goodnight back as Draco growls in frustration. “Cockblockers” he snarls, making you laugh. “Don’t worry, there going to do it to every couple in here. Didn’t expect Percy too though, just listen” you say and Draco keep quiet to listen.
   “Night Ginny. Night Pansy!”
“Go away were busy!” Ginny shouts
   “Sleep tight Fleur and Bill!”
“You all are insufferable!” Bill yells making you snicker a bit
“We don’t have to worry about Ron and Hermione. Ron has got like zero game” Fred speaks and they all laugh.
“Hey i heard that!” Ron shrieks in offense.
“Sleep well George! Sleep well Luna!”
“You guys can’t pull this shit on me! Shove off!” George shouts and you hear a door slam.
“Goodnight” Luna says. What a sweet girl

hello hello, i just posted this fic right now.
below the cut is an alternate ending to the fic because i hate writing angst and i needed some serotonin. but please read the fic before reading the alt. ending<3
-
Getting to the Underworld was a lot easier when she had a child of Hades as her friend. Nico shadow traveled with her to his father’s palace, leaving them right outside the doors. “Thank you,” she said, staring up at the doors.
“No problem. You sure you want me to leave, though?” he asked. Annabeth nodded.
“I’ll be fine,” she said. She had Mrs. O’Leary’s whistle in her pocket. Technically that was Percy’s possession, but the hellhound had always loved her too so she hoped it would still work.
“Okay,” Nico said quietly, somewhat awkward. “See you later, then.”
“Bye,” she replied, and then she was alone. Taking one heavy breath, Annabeth pushed through the doors of the palace.  “Lord Hades!” she yelled, walking in.
He materialized in front of her. “What a nice surprise,” he said, his voice flat. “I love screaming children bursting into my home.”
“My apologies, my Lord. You know why I’m here, though.”
“I do,” Hades said. “But I can’t help you.”
He started to walk away but Annabeth followed. “Yes, you can!” she protested. “Percy saved the Gods, he saved you. He’s the only reason Camp Halfblood accepts Nico. He deserves a better life than what he got.”
“He… he made his choices,” he said, though he didn’t sound confident. It reminded her of what her mother said. Annabeth thought that was bullshit. He made his choices based on the circumstances. He would’ve never willingly chosen this life to begin with, none of them would.
“Do it to spite Zeus, then,” she tried. “This eternal feud with your brothers – this would piss them off pretty good!”
Hades stopped, like he was considering it. The silence grew longer and Annabeth was almost worried she’d crossed some line. But then he turned.
“Okay.”
She blinked. “Okay?” she asked.
Hades nodded. “You make good points. He saved us and he’s befriended Nico, I do appreciate those things,” he said. He grinned, a sight that sent shivers up her spine. His smile had an unintentional (or at least she hoped it was unintentional) evil to it that she didn’t like. “And it would be very satisfying to anger my brothers.”
Annabeth was stunned. This has been her entire goal but she was shocked it had actually worked. After what happened on Olympus, she had expected to walk out of there empty-handed.
“Th-thank you, Lord Hades,” she stuttered. “I can’t thank you enough. You have no idea how much this means to me.”
He nodded once before flicking his wrist. In a cloud of dark smoke, Percy appeared in the room with them. He was translucent but other than that, he looked just as he had before. Hades held up a hand to stop her from rushing forward. “You’ll walk right through him,” he said with a dark chuckle.
Percy stared at her, disoriented. Hades flicked his wrist again and Percy jolted, his body becoming solid again. Annabeth looked at Hades, who then rolled his eyes. “Go ahead.”
Annabeth launched forward, tackling Percy in a hug. He was still confused but his arms tightened around her. “Oh my Gods,” she mumbled. “I got you. You’re safe.”
“Annabeth?” he whispered, starting to regain his senses. She stepped back to cup his face.
“Yeah, Perce. It’s me. You’re safe.”
“I don’t,” he trailed off, blinking at Hades. “You brought me back?”
“Your girlfriend was very insistent,” he replied with a shrug. Annabeth almost laughed. Percy blinked again.
“Thank you, Lord Hades,” he stuttered. “Thank you so much.”
The God nodded. “If you die again, you’re on your own,” he said with a smile. Another twisted-looking one that made Annabeth shiver.
She hugged Percy close again and they heard Hades sigh. “Okay, you guys are gross,” he said. It almost sounded like he was… teasing them? Annabeth laughed quietly, her cheeks flushing as she stepped back.
“Thank you again, my Lord,” she said. “We’re indebted to you.”
“Considering it a favor,” he replied. “Now get out of here.”
His wrists flicked and Annabeth was suddenly enveloped in darkness. Her eyes fluttered open, and she and Percy were standing at the New York entrance to the Underworld. With a delirious laugh, she tackled him in another hug. One that sent them sprawling into the grass. “Oh my fucking Gods,” she said, pulling him as close as she could.
“Annabeth,” he murmured, digging his face into her neck. She pulled back enough to cup his face.
“I’m so sorry,” she whispered. “I’m so, so sorry.”
“You don’t have to be sorry,” he replied, staring up at her in awe. “You got me out, Beth.”
“I know,” she said. Her emotions started to creep back up her throat and suddenly she was crying again. “But still. You- you died. That-“
“Wasn’t your fault,” he said, cutting her off. “It’s okay. I’m okay.”
Annabeth pressed her forehead to his. “I couldn’t do this life without you. I didn’t want to.”
“I know,” he whispered. “I’m right here.”
Annabeth sniffled and nodded before standing up, pulling him with her. “We should go see your mom,” she said. Percy’s eyes widened and something in him broke.
“Yeah,” he agreed. They walked there and she told him everything that had happened the past week or so. Getting out of Tartarus, defeating Gaia, visiting Sally, and then storming Olympus. He listened silently, their hands locked between them. Part of her was afraid to let go, as though this were some dream and he’d vanish if she released him.
They were stepping into the elevator, going up to the fourth floor, when Percy let out a quiet breath. “Why am I nervous?” he whispered. “It’s my mom.”
“You haven’t seen her in months, Perce,” Annabeth replied gently. “It’ll be okay.”
“Did you visit her much while I was… gone?” he asked. Annabeth nodded.
“At least once a week before our quest,” she said, a small smile gracing her features. She and Sally had gotten extremely close over the course of Percy’s disappearance. “I even slept in your bed a few nights because I had accidentally ended up staying later than I meant.”
He laughed quietly and dropped her hand to wrap his arm around her shoulders, pulling her into a hug. “Thank you,” he whispered. “You probably helped her so much.”
“She helped me,” Annabeth replied. In those months, seeing Sally had kept Annabeth from slipping away entirely. Sally made sure she stayed fed and well. If it hadn’t been for her, Annabeth would’ve withered away.
“I love you.”
Annabeth smiled and as the doors opened, she quickly tilted her head up to kiss him softly. “I love you, too.”
She took his hand again and they walked through the halls. Stopping in front of the door, Annabeth looked up at him. He lifted his hand, paused for just a brief second, and then knocked on the door. Annabeth held his other hand tight as they waited.
The door opened and then Sally Jackson was in front of them. Her hair was in a loose bun and her eyes were red. She stared at Percy, who was crying again. Honestly, Annabeth felt a bit like crying herself. “Mom,” he whispered, his voice cracking.
In an instant, their arms were wrapped around each other. It was a little funny now that Percy was taller, but that didn’t stop Annabeth from tearing up.
“My baby,” Sally murmured. “I love you so much, oh Gods.”
Annabeth saw Percy’s shoulders shake with silent sobs. Sally’s eyes opened just for a second, but she caught sight of Annabeth and regained enough sense to pull away. “Come inside, let’s get out of the hall.”
They were ushered inside and Percy was being wrapped up in another tight hug. Annabeth excused herself quietly, trailing down to the bathroom to wipe her tears away. She was so overwhelmed with emotion and she wanted to give them a moment alone.
When she returned, they had seemingly just broken apart. Sally turned that warm, loving gaze on Annabeth now and swept her up a hug. “I’m so glad you’re safe,” she said, and Annabeth melted. And then, much quieter, Sally whispered, “Thank you.”
Annabeth nodded and hugged her tighter. She caught Percy’s eye over Sally’s shoulder and he smiled at her. His mother had always loved Annabeth, but it must’ve been interesting to see how much closer they had gotten over the last year. Sally pulled away and looked at both of them.
“Well,” she said, huffing out a disbelieving laugh as she wiped her tears. “We should order some pizza and talk. Paul will be home in about an hour.”
They sat in the living room, Annabeth tucked into Percy’s side and she told Sally about what happened on Olympus and in the Underworld. She looked impressed at Annabeth’s determination. “Well,” Sally said with a gentle laugh. “At least I know I can count on you to take care of him.”
Annabeth wanted to cry. She had always been the one who was supposed to take care of Percy, and yet she had let him die. Instead of crying, because Gods, was she tired of it, she lifted her eyes to Percy. He was already looking back at her.
“Yeah, someone has to,” she said softly. Percy kissed her head.
“I’m glad it’s you, then,” he whispered.
Just then, the door opened and Percy tensed. “Honey?” Paul called out and Sally smiled.
“In the living room.”
“Did you end up…” he trailed off when he entered the room and his eyes landed on Percy. His bag, filled with school papers and his laptop, fell to the ground. “P-Percy?”
In a flash, Percy was off the couch and pulled into another hug. He and Paul had always been decently close, with maybe a hint of natural awkwardness settled between them. After being gone for so long, though, any residual tension had disappeared and they both seemed perfectly comfortable in a hug.
When Paul finally pulled back, he looked at Percy, then Annabeth, then Sally. “I don’t… understand.”
Sally laughed gently. Her mood had improved greatly since they had gotten to the apartment, for obvious reasons. “Come sit,” she said.
Halfway through retelling the story, the pizza got there and Sally brought it into the living room for all of them to dig into. Afterward, Paul nodded slowly. “This was definitely an interesting family to marry into.”
Annabeth laughed quietly and leaned further into Percy. She only had the stomach capacity for a single slice of pizza right now, despite not eating nearly enough the past few months. In a moment of bravery, she tilted her head up to brush her lips against his ear. “Good thing I’m already used to how crazy this family can be.”
His eyes snapped to hers and she smiled slowly. She remembered what he’d said about New Rome, how demigods could grow up, get married and start families. She wanted that with him and she wanted to be sure he knew that. Judging by the way he kissed her, in full view of his parents, she was fairly confident that he knew.
They stayed there on the couches for a while, catching up. Conversation rarely ceased and Annabeth smiled more in those couple hours than she had in the last six months. It was only about 8:30 when Percy had yawned for the millionth time. “Tired?” she asked gently.
He nodded, leaning against. She looked at Sally. “This one is about to pass out on me,” Annabeth said, nudging Percy who hummed. “We’re gonna head to bed.”
“Okay,” Sally said before getting up with them and wrapping Percy in another hug. Annabeth heard her whisper, “I’m glad you’re home,” to Percy.
“Me too,” he replied before pulling back. Sally didn’t hesitate to hug Annabeth again.
“I love you guys,” she said when she released Annabeth.
“Love you,” Annabeth said softly, smiling. Percy echoed the same sentiment, taking her hand and leading her down the hall.
Once they were safely in his room, he quietly locked the door and turned to her. “You know, if this demigod stuff doesn’t work out for me, I could be an actor.”
Annabeth raised her eyebrows. “Why’s that?”
His hands slipped under her hoodie, finding her waist and he pulled her closer. “I’m not tired,” he murmured, brushing his lips against hers. “I just missed you.”
“While I was right next to you?”
“Mhm,” he hummed. “I missed kissing you. Thought I’d have to wait a long time to be able to do that again. And now I’m back, and we’ve barely gotten to do any kissing.”
Annabeth couldn’t help the way her lips twitched upwards. “You would’ve waited that long to kiss me again?” she asked softly.
“I’d wait a million lifetimes if it meant I got to kiss you again,” he replied, his voice devoid of teasing. Finally, he was done with talking and he leaned down to press his lips to hers. Annabeth’s arms snaked up around his neck and she pulled him closer. Walking her backward towards the bed, he muttered against her lips, “I love you so much.”
“I love you, too,” she replied.
Annabeth hadn’t realized how much she’d missed the simple act of kissing him until now. All she wanted to do was get wrapped up in his touch, which wasn’t wise with his parents being down the hall.
For once, however, she decided as she pulled him into the bed with her, wisdom could wait.

Title: It’s Time
Summary: The time everyone waited for has come.
Warning/s: Mentions of pain, a mention of a fatal disease, Ginny and George (probably) being the happiest of them all, George and Molly crying tears of joy
A/N: Finally the last installment, of the series. I might have cried a bit from the ending. But, I just wanted to thank you all for the support, likes and reblogs you have given this series. I never thought that this would reach this far. So, I hope you enjoy this last part and I might have a new series coming soon!
Series Masterlist
I never thought that Fred’s clinginess could reach its maximum level.
And it just did.
I was due to give birth anytime now, Fred had gone through the whole nine yards when it came to preparation.
“I just need to run to the shop quickly princess. You sure you’ll be okay here?” Fred asked as he put on his suit jacket.
I gave him a small smile, “I’ll be fine Freddie. Honestly love, relax.”
He chuckled, giving me a quick peck on the lips, “I know, it’s just you could give birth anytime soon. I want to be there when that happens.”
I giggled cupping his face as he hovered slightly above me, “And I assure you, you will be here when that happens. Now stop stressing and do what you need to do.”
He smiled, giving me another peck on the lips, “I’ll come back as soon as I can.”
“Just take your time love.” I said, giving him a reassuring smile.
He then apparated to the shop.
I got up from my seat, walking over to the bookshelf in hopes of finding another book to read.
In the whole period of my pregnancy, I had felt like that I had finished every single book that was lined up on the shelf.
I scanned the book spines before deciding to re-read my all-time favorite: Romeo and Juliet.
As I walked back to the couch, taking each step carefully, I felt a sudden flare of pain in my stomach causing me to drop the book I was holding.
I stood steady in my position for a few more minutes, it had been happening for the last few days so I just decided to brush it off.
Taking out my wand, I summoned the book to from the floor and made my way back to the couch.
Later that day, when I was on my way back to the comfort of the living room after using the bathroom, I felt a similar flare of pain in my stomach. Then I felt something dripping down my thighs. I looked down, my heart racing as I saw a puddle of water at my feet.
It was time.
I summoned the emergency bag that Fred had prepared from our bedroom, thank Merlin for magic.
That’s when I heard a familiar pop.
“Princess! I’m home!” I heard the familiar voice of my husband call from the living room.
“I’m here!” I called out, leaning against the wall for support.
His eyes widen when he saw me leaning against the wall, the emergency bag slung over my shoulder.
“Is it time?” He asked, frantically taking the bag from me and leading me towards the fireplace.
I nodded, “It’s time.”
He immediately threw some floo powder into the fireplace and said, “George! George! Are you there mate?”
“I am.” George’s voice answered clearly from the other side, “Why? What’s wrong?”
“Y/N’s going into labor and we’re heading to St. Mungo’s right now.” Fred said frantically.
“I’ll alert Mum and Dad!” George said as Fred dipped his hand in the bag of floo powder again, throwing it again towards the flames as we stepped in and got transported to St. Mungo’s.
Fortunately, enough, the moment we stepped into the hospital, we bumped into my doctor.
She took a single look at me and said, “She’s going into labor isn’t she.”
“Obviously.” I said as they placed me in a wheelchair and wheeled me over to the delivery room.
(Ginny’s POV)
It was normal Saturday afternoon, until George started banging on our door.
“George, what in the name of Merlin is so bloody urgent that it looks like that you want to break down the door so badly.” I said as I opened the door.
“Well, for your information dear sister, Y/N is going into labor. I already told Ron and Hermione and I’m about to head to mum and dad.” He said before apparating to the Burrow.
“What did he say?” Harry said coming out from the living room.
I looked at him as I only started to register what my brother just said, “Y/N is in labor! We have to head to St. Mungo’s now!”
Without a second thought, we apparated to St. Mungo’s where Ron and Hermione were already waiting.
Well, Ron was more relaxed as he sat down in one of the chairs while Hermione was pacing back and forth.
“Hey.” Hermione greeted, pulling me into a hug, “We came here as soon as George told us.”
I chuckled, “Us too. Any news from them?”
Hermione shook her head, “None.”
We heard another pop as we turned and saw that the rest of the family had arrived: Mum, dad, George and Angelina, Percy and Audrey, Bill and Fleur. Everyone was present.
“Are there any news yet?” Mum asked, pulling the four of us into a hug.
Harry gave her a small smile, “Not yet. But so far, Hermione is the only one acting like Y/N has a fatal disease when in reality she’s just in labor.”
The group laughed as Hermione gave Harry a playful glare.
“I don’t know about you guys, but I’m already excited to meet the twins.” George said, practically bouncing off the walls in excitement.
Percy gave a hearty laugh, “And why is that? So, you and Fred could pass on your pranking legacy?”
“This is the twins we’re talking about Perce, of course they’ll pass on their legacy.” Bill said.
Arthur chuckled, “I think that I’m starting to pity the load Mcgonagall would be having when the next generation attends Hogwarts.”
“I won’t even be surprised that if the day when this new generation attends Hogwarts will be the same day Mcgonagall resigns.” Molly said.
“Nah,” Ron joked with a small grin, “She loves us too much.”
Hermione and I playfully smacked him on the shoulder, “You wish.” We said in unison.
“Oh, come on,” Percy intervened, “We all know I’m Mcgonagall’s favorite.”
George snorted as Angelina smacked him on the shoulder, “Why? Because you were an ickle Prefect and a Bighead boy?”
Bill and Fleur laughed, “Please,” Bill joined in, “Save yourselves of the embarrassment because it’s pretty obvious that I’m Minnie’s favorite.”
All of us bursted into a fit of laughter before s voice spoke, “Don’t leave me hanging guys, what’s so funny?”
We all turned and saw Fred with a huge grin on his lips.
“How’s Y/N and the kids?” I asked.
“They’re fine.” He said, his voice quivering a little, obviously he had just finished crying.
“Do you wanna go see them?” He asked.
George smiled, “Though you’d never ask. Lead the way then.”
Fred led us to a room at the end of the hall and pushed the door open.
(Reader’s POV)
I couldn’t stop staring adoringly at the two babies that were I had just delivered.
Fred had bursted into tears the moment I handed him our son.
“Hello there kiddo.” He cooed, the tears gently falling down his cheeks, “I’m your dad, and I love you, your sister and your mum so much.” He continued, voice cracking slightly.
Even I couldn’t stop my tears from flowing as I looked at Fred with our son and our daughter that I was cradling slowly in my arms.
I scooted over a bit as Fred sat next to me on the hospital bed.
“I can’t believe they’re actually here, in our arms.” He said.
I smiled, “I can’t believe that we could make something this beautiful.”
Fred chuckled, placing a small kiss on my cheek as I looked at him, “I’m married to the most gorgeous woman in the whole wide world. So, it only makes sense that our children inherit that.”
I playfully rolled my eyes at him, “Ever so cheeky.”
--
Fred had already gone to pick up the rest of the family while the twins laid in my arms.
I looked up as the door opened and the rest of the Weasley clan piled into the room.
Ginny and George where the first ones by my side as they looked adoringly at the kids.
“Can I hold one of them?” Ginny asked, giving me her best puppy dog eyes.
I handed Ginny her niece which she took with a huge grin.
“Can I hold the other one?” George asked.
“Just make sure you don’t drop him.” Fred teased his twin as I handed him his nephew.
George and Ginny started parading the twins around the room, handing them to Molly and Arthur respectively after the former complained that “They should have a chance with their grandchildren.”
After a few moments of silence, Hermione asked the question that had been on everyone’s mind, “What’s their names?”
Fred and I exchanged a quick look as I said, “Freddie, if you may.”
He smiled at his twin, “The boy’s name is George Arthur Weasley.”
George stared at his twin as his eyes widened while Arthur had a huge grin on his face.
“You named your son after me?” George asked in disbelief.
Fred shrugged, “Of course I did. Is it so hard to believe?”
Angelina smiled as George bit his lip as he tried to keep his tears at bay, launching himself into Fred’s arms, pulling him into a tight hug.
“How about the girl?” Harry asked.
I took a deep breath, giving them a small smile as I answered, “Ginny Molly Weasley.”
Ginny gasped as she started jumping up and down, running forward and hugging me as tightly as she could, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
I chuckled, rubbing her back gently, “Anything for my favorite sister-in-law.”
She playfully scoffed, “Your only sister-in-law.”
We pulled away when we heard a small sniff to see Molly quietly crying as she lovingly stared at her three-hour old granddaughter.
“Hey mum, why are you crying?” Fred joked as he stood next to her.
She took another sniff, “It’s just. Out of every single name out there that you could’ve given your kids. You name them after your twin and your sister and your father and I.”
Fred chuckled, “Well, we would’ve named them after all of you already. But we have to reserve some for our other children.”
He then dodged the pillow I threw at him, “I just got those two out and now you’re planning some more?”
My husband laughed as he sat next to me, “There’s no harm in thinking ahead.”
We watched as the rest of family passed the twins among themselves.
I rested my head on Fred’s chest as I took in the sight of our perfect little family.

(implied female reader)
summary: George gets you the perfect secret Santa gift
(2.6k)
--------
George had gone to Diagon Alley nearly every day this week. His feet hurt when he got home from walking all day, and at some point, he even got some windburn on his lips.
You and George were due at the burrow on Friday for a Christmas dinner. A Christmas dinner that would end with secret Santa gift exchanges.
You had picked Ginny, deciding to get her a lovely scarf and matching cardigan almost right after finding out you got her. George, however, was having a little more difficulty.
George wanted this year’s gift to be perfect. He felt even more pressure knowing you’d be opening his gift in front of his entire family, rather than in the privacy of the flat you shared.
“Honey, come back to bed,” you groaned when you felt his weight shift off the bed, patting your hand on his now empty side of the bed.
“I can’t, shops open soon,” he grumbled, shuffling into the bathroom at the ungodly hour it was.
He had been refusing to tell you who he got, insisting that the secret part was the most fun of it all. You rolled your eyes but indulged his secrecy. This, however, was getting too much. You wanted a lay-in with your boyfriend, for god’s sake.
George walked against the wind- scarf pulled over his lips after learning his lesson- as he neared the shop he had been looking for.
It was a muggle jewelry shop.
The idea had come to him the second he picked your name, but something in him was making him second guess himself. You had been dating for four years, you were serious adults, and he loved you more than anything in his life. Still, he had doubts.
What if you thought Christmas engagements were cheesy? What if you thought he was going too fast? What if you walked out and left him at his family home on his knee?
George paced in front of the shop, glancing at the door and reaching out to open it every once and a while only to retract his hand. Eventually, he worked up the nerve and opened the door. If he was this nervous to even enter the shop, how would he choose a ring? How the hell would he manage to propose?
Once inside, he took off his beanie and shook his hair out, glancing around the store. It was warm and quiet, filled with dazzling amounts of jewelry.
All the hesitation he had felt left him at once, and he knew he had to do this. He knew this was right, and he knew fairly quickly which ring he was going to get you. He left, walking along the street and back to the Three Broomsticks. He entered Diagon Alley, determined to now find a decent fake gift.
On Friday night, you closed the tin for some cookies you had been baking all day, wrapping the tin in a deep red bow. You tucked it under your arm, lifting the gift bag with yours and George’s secret Santa gifts. George was waiting for you in the living room, dressed in a handsome sweater and brown corduroy pants, smiling widely at you.
George had been frighteningly happy recently, though you supposed he was just in the Christmas spirit.
You apparated to the Weasley house, just outside the front door. You raised your hand to knock, but George was already slamming it open with the full force of his shoulder. You followed him inside, glancing apologetically at Molly as she rushed over to hug you both.
“Finally!” she released George and moved onto you, hugging you with a strong grip, “My babies are all home!”
You noticed everyone else had already arrived, gathered around the ground floor of the house. Teddy Lupin and Victoire stood in the kitchen with Fleur and Bill, laughing while Bill hid bits and pieces of food in his wife’s hair. Ron and Hermione sat on the couch with Rose bundled in Hermione’s arms, Ron waving his fingers in her face with a dazed look on his own. Harry bounced James on his knee as he sat at the table next to Ginny, who cradled Albus in her hands as she and Harry listened to Arthur talk about his new muggle discoveries. Percy was standing behind his mother, holding his daughter’s hand as she swayed on her feet, just learning to walk.
Molly held your arms, looking down at what you had brought.
“Did you make these, dear?” she took the tin from your hands, smiling wider when you nodded and brought them to the kitchen.
George took the gift bag from you and moved it to the tree, making his greetings at everyone he passed.
You went to the kitchen, catching Bill’s eye and smiling back at him.
“Y/n!” he called, spreading his arms out to you and pulled you into him. You hugged Fleur, picking the food from her hair as she scolded Bill jokingly.
“Hey Teddy,” you said, placing a hand on the top of his head, “you’ve gotten so tall!”
It was true, the young boy had already shot up like a bean-post, the top of his head stopping at your waist. His bright blue hair stood out even more the higher it got. He looked strikingly like his parents, you thought, with a sad smile.
“Hullo,” he said joyously, leaning into your side and giving you a hug.
“Hiya, Aunt Y/n,” Victoire called from beside Teddy, though a good size smaller, and coming to your other side to clutch at your legs as she hugged you.
“What’re you guys making?” you asked them, looking at the food scattered across the counter Victoire could barely see over. You lifted her up, balancing her on your hip and still keeping a hand on Teddy’s head.
“No idea,” Bill joked from beside you, now putting food in Victoire’s strawberry blonde hair, “having too much fun to care.”
You laughed, and Teddy looked up from your side at Victoire’s now food covered hair. Fleur reached over Bill to swat his hands away, cleaning her daughter’s hair.
“I brought those cookies you guys like,” Bill, Teddy, and Victoire’s eyes lit up, all of them looking around to find them.
“After dinner, you lot,” Molly said as she came into the kitchen, swatting the back of Bill’s head.
She came to your side, reaching for Victoire, and you gladly shifted her over. Teddy seemed consumed in whatever he was making, his brows furrowed in concentration. You left the kitchen, going to the kitchen table where Harry, Ginny, and Arthur still were, along with the children.
James’ face lit up once he saw you, and he held his arms out to you with grabbing hands. He nearly wiggled out of Harry’s grip, and Harry seemed all too happy to hand him over to you once you sat down next to Ginny.
“Hey, love,” she said, bending to kiss your cheek in greeting. You kissed hers, smiling widely at Harry and Arthur. You leaned down to kiss James’ cheek too, sending him into a fit of giggles that made Harry swoon from beside you.
“How are you, James?” you cooed at him, only to be answered with baby noises. You knew it wasn’t approved of, but you did have favorites. Teddy and James had a special place in your heart.
Arthur balanced his chin on his palm, gazing at his grandchildren.
“Happy Christmas,” he said, smiling at you and James.
“Happy Christmas,” you said back, now looking over at Albus who was sleeping in Ginny’s arms.
“Oi,” she said, leaning forward to look at her husband, “your turn, Potter.”
Harry chuckled, standing to retrieve Albus gently from his wife.
“I’m gonna put him upstairs, let him get his rest,” Harry whispered, even though it made no difference compared to the noisy house around them.
Ginny nodded, looking happy to have empty arms for a second. James was still content in your arms, so you decided to stay for a moment, at least until Harry came back. James seemed to have other plans though, eventually making grabbing hands at his grandfather. Arthur seemed to have been waiting for this moment, immediately lighting up and reaching for James. You stood, obliging James’ wishes, and bent to talk to Ginny.
“I’ll be right back, gonna go say ‘hi’ to Ron and Hermione,” Ginny only hummed in response, busy watching her son sit on her father’s lap.
You walked into the living room, where Ron was now holding Rose. Hermione seemed to be sifting through a very full diaper bag, and you wouldn’t be surprised if it had an extending charm.
“Hey, Y/n,” Ron said when he saw you, his tired face lifting in an energetic smile.
Your eyes moved to the spit-up on his shoulder, and you smiled back at him, amused at his joy.
“Hi, happy Christmas,” you said sitting next to Ron so you could look at Rose.
“Oh,” Hermione looked up, holding a clean towel in her hands, “hello, dear, didn’t see you.”
You smiled at her, leaning over Ron to squeeze her hand in somewhat of a greeting. You looked at Rose, fast asleep in Ron’s arms.
“Harry’s just put Albus to sleep upstairs, I’m sure you could put Rose up there, too, if you wanted,” you whispered, careful not to wake the baby.
“Did he?” Hermione said hopefully, then she cast a knowing look at Ron.
“Up I go,” he said with no hesitation, standing carefully from the couch.
Hermione slumped down, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, “This shit is hard.”
You both laughed, and eventually, Ginny and George joined you in the living room.
Ginny held a glass of what looked like an alcoholic drink, smirking at Hermione’s pained look. “Stopped breastfeeding the other day. Good to be back,” Ginny downed her drink, laughing more when Hermione groaned in what you assumed was jealousy.
George had settled into the couch next to you, wrapping his arm around you as he cradled a beer in his hand. You took it from him, stealing a sip and laughing at his groan that was similar to Hermione’s.
“Y/n!” three pairs of stomping feet sounded into the living room, matched with happy giggles. Teddy stood in front of you, James’ tiny hand clutched in his as he helped him stand and walk. Teddy was more dragging James than letting him walk on his own, but Ginny nor James seemed to mind. Victoire was not far behind, stumbling on her own feet as she crashed into your legs.
George picked her up, settling her on his lap and delving into a discussion about how pretty her dress was.
“I made this for you,” Teddy said, holding out a gingerbread cookie that was dripping in enormous amounts of frosting.
“Wow,” you said, carefully taking the cookie, “Teddy, this looks amazing.”
He smiled proudly, barely noticing James retracting his hand and crawling over to his mother. Teddy simply crawled into your lap, nearly too big to do so, and looked down at the cookie in your hands.
“Will you try it?” he said, smiling widely.
You looked down at the cookie, then at Teddy. It looked like a stomach ache waiting to happen, and you tried to think of an excuse not to eat it without hurting his feelings. Suddenly, however, George was leaning over and taking a large bite from the cookie. He then stole the rest of the cookie with his free hand, holding it up to your face. You playfully scolded him, then smiled sweetly at Teddy. George only made you take a small bite, holding out one of the legs with the littlest amount of frosting. You ate it, moaning in delight and nodding your head at Teddy. He swelled with pride, smiling smugly up at you.
You all sat in the living room like that until Molly called everyone to dinner. The table had been moved outside, per usual, and extended to fit everyone. Molly was a firm believer in not having a kid’s table, so the children who could walk rushed to their desired seats. Arthur and Percy sat at the heads of the table, and everyone scattered from there. You and George sat in the middle, and George had to rush to beat James from stealing his spot next to you. Teddy sat to your left, George to your right, and when you weren’t cutting Teddy’s food, George was jokingly pestering you to cut his.
The dinner was as lively as always, and the cold air was barred away by a spell Arthur had done around the house.
Soon, it was time for secret Santa. Molly magically cleared the table, something that made Teddy swoon beside you, and then magically transported all the gifts to the table. She levitated the first one from the bag, and the exchanges started from there.
Fleur had been your secret Santa, and she got you a compilation of books you had mentioned wanting. You thanked her from across the table, showing Teddy and reading to him what he didn’t understand. You watched everyone else get their presents, going one at a time, and finally, with no presents left, Molly levitated your gift to Ginny from the bag.
Ginny smiled widely and immediately put on both the cardigan and the sweater, standing and coming to hug you from behind.
Soon, a large box wrapped in white paper was levitated in front of you. You hadn’t been keeping track of who’s gifts were from who, even though you should have been, and unwrapped the box quickly. Inside was a lovely, blooming plant with bright flowers and a lovely ceramic pot. You lifted it carefully, hearing Molly gasp in delight when she saw it. Then, you heard a round of gasps and looked up from the plant, confused as to why everyone was so surprised by some flowers.
You quickly understood, though, that they had not gasped at the flowers.
Beside you, with his chair pushed away and on his knee, George propped open a small box. It held a gorgeous ring, and you felt your eyes water before you could even take a breath. You hadn’t let him get a word in, and you knew he had a whole speech planned, and collapsed out of your chair and into George’s arms.
He stumbled, nearly falling backward, but wrapped his arms around you. You pulled away, only enough to see the ring he cradled in between your chests, and let out a happy sob. George did too, and you looked up to see his cheeks were wet. You pressed your forehead to his, wiping his cheeks and laughing. You kissed him, hard, but barely managed to because you couldn’t stop smiling.
He pulled away, carefully holding your hand in his shaking hands, and slid the ring onto your finger. You heard clapping around you, and you remembered the rest of your family there. Hermione and Molly had tears running down their faces, and all the children were bouncing in their seats with the energy, not entirely sure of what was happening. Ginny was by your side first, hugging you again, and then George. This broke the flood gates and soon everyone was wrapping either you or George in their arms.
You longed to touch George, but hugged everyone back, just the same, until finally, you could hug your fiancé.
“Happy Christmas,” George said, his face buried in your neck as he hugged you tightly.
“Happy Christmas,” you replied, holding your arm out and looking at your ring from behind George’s back. “God, George, you have impeccable taste.”
He laughed, pulling apart from you and gazing down at you, “Don’t I know it.”

The World with You
Aurora (Rory) Black-Lupin sat on her bathroom floor staring in disbelief at the two little pink lines on all four of the muggle pregnancy tests she had taken. Pregnant. She was without a doubt pregnant. The sickness started about a week and half after her missed period. She had hoped that it was a coincidence and that she was just coming down with a bug and her period had decided to just be irregular for that month, but when Hermione said that she thought Rory might have been pregnant after she explained her symptoms to her, she knew that she needed to take the test. Which is how she ended on the floor with tears streaming down her face as her best friend rubbed circles on her back trying to calm her down.
“It’ll be okay, Ro.” Hermione whispered.
Rory curled into her friend's side, “How? We have never even talked about kids. We are both on the younger side, what if he wanted to wait? How am I even going to tell him this?”
The thoughts running in her head made her cry even harder. What if Percy didn’t want children? They both were young still; her only nineteen and Percy twenty-three. What if he called off their engagement? What if he was disappointed that she had screwed up all the plans that they had talked about? She placed a hand on her lower abdomen, with all the thoughts of Percy leaving there was one that was sticking out in her mind like it had flashing lights on it. She wanted this baby.
She knew first hand how hard it was for some people to have children. Her fathers were prime examples. They wanted another child, but never got there after her dad, Sirius, was wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of her late Godparents, James and Lilly Potter. Her dads loved her more than anything in the world and Remus made sure to tell her that all those nights when he was tucking her into bed by himself when she was small. Although Remus wasn’t her biological father, since she was a drunken accident that took place after Remus and Sirius had a fight, he loved her like she was his blood. Her fathers wanted a big family; Remus came from a single child household, and Sirius had a sibling, but they weren’t close at all in fact she had never even met or heard a lot about her Uncle Regulus.
But even with the blaring thought that she wanted this baby she was still terrified about what Percy’s reaction was going to be. The thought of the disappointment that she would potentially see in his in eyes when she told him made her breathing pickup and her tears to run faster. She felt lightheaded, and like she wanted to throw up much like she had every morning for the past almost two weeks after Percy left for his job at the Ministry.
Hermione, noticing the change in her friend's demeanor, curled her arms tighter around Aurora trying to ground her from the possible panic attack. She stroked the hair on the back of Aurora's head much like she did Harry’s after he woke up from a nightmare. The war had taken its toll on the close group of friends who were now family. Hermione had to obliviate her parents in order to protect them; Harry had lost his parents during the first war, but later found his Godfather, who was wrongfully imprisoned for twelve years, and his Godsister alone with his Uncle; Aurora got her father back, but lost her cousin, who had been an older sister to the young girl since they met, Nymphadora; and Ron nearly lost his older brother, Fred.
The war had been over for close to two years, however the damage was done and still haunted them all to this day. The good that they all had in their lives helped balance it. Hermione was sure that this was going to be a good thing just like when Lilly Amelia Potter was born four months after Harry and Hermione’s wedding. Though convincing Rory of that could potentially be hard since she had that Black stubbornness.
“Listen Ro, this is a good thing. You and Percy are engaged. You were already going to spend the rest of your lives together, and this topic would have come up eventually. This just sped up the process. Percy worships the ground you walk on, and you’ve seen how good he is with Lilly. You both will make great parents. And hey, if he decides to be a total arse when you tell him I’ll hex him and you can come stay with me and Harry till Percy got his shit together. But I know for a fact he won’t be, you wanna know how I know? Cause I’m Hermione Granger-Potter and I am never wrong.”
Aurora made a sound in between a giggle and a sniffle at her friend's speech before shifting around to look at her, “But how c-can you be so sure? What if he hates the thought of having a child with me?”
Hermione brushed some hari behind her ear, “I’m sure because I was in the same position you are now when I found out about Lilly. I was scared Harry would be mad. He had just started working as an Auror and I was working in the Ministry, and we weren’t married yet. But then I remembered he loves me and we have an army of people to help just as you do.” She gave her friend a soft smile. “So what I purpose is for us to get off the floor, wipe the tears before Percy gets home, and come up with what you are going to say.”
Right on cue there was a ‘pop’ from the living room signalling Percy was home. The girls scrambled to their feet, hastily wiping tears, and stuffing the test into Rory’s makeup drawer. “Rory?” Percy called out into the house.
The girls dived onto the bed trying to act as if they were just talking when Percy entered the room. If the look on his face was anything to go by they didn’t do a very good job. “Oh, hello ‘Mione. Didn’t know you were here.”
Percy placed a kiss on Rory’s head. Her eyes met Hermione’s as the other girl gave her a small smile, “Oh well, I was just leaving actually. Just needed another adult to talk to before I went stir crazy from the baby talk and my work at home.”
Hermione called out her goodbyes before apperating away. Percy turned his attention back to Rory. “Well that was...odd?” He chuckled. His laugh trailed off as he took on Aurora's full apparence. Her eyes were red and puffy, lip slightly swollen as if she had been biting on it, and her messy dark curls. Percy knelt down in front of her, cupping her face in one hand while brushing  her hair back with another. “What’s wrong, love?”
Rory avoided his eyes, terrified that when she uttered the life changing words he would walk away. “Percy, I have something I need to tell you.”
“What is it? You know you can tell me anything, sweetheart.” He placed two fingers under her chin gently making her look at him.
Rory mustered up all of the Gryffindor courage that she had before she spoke, “Perc, I’m pregnant.”
She felt her heart fall to her stomach as his hand dropped off her face. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I thought we took every precaution that we could. Please, please believe me. Please don’t leave me. I don’t know if I can do this without you.” She trailed off as tears ran down her face again harder than ever before.
Percy sat in shock. The love of his life was pregnant with his baby. He was going to be a father. Tears gathered in his eyes that he quickly blinked away upon seeing and hearing his darling girl apologize and beg him not to leave her. “Sorry? What on Earth are you sorry for, love? And leave you? I wouldn’t leave you if someone tried to drag me away.”
He wrapped her up in his arms. Rory sniffled confused as to why Percy was hugging her. He was happy about this baby? Percy tucked her head under his chin, rocking back and forth till all of her tears stopped. She couldn’t bring herself to leave his arms in fear that everything would fall apart if she did. Percy heard her mumble something into his chest, “Repeat for me, love?”
“I said you aren’t mad?” she whispered again.
He gently pushed her back off his chest. “Mad? Why would I be mad? This is great! I’ve always wanted a family of my own. Especially with you.” He bopped her on the nose eclicting a little giggle out of the girl. “I mean I was thinking we would wait a little bit, however that doesn’t matter. I am so happy, love! My baby is having a baby!” He pressed a sweet kiss to her lips.
“I thought you would be mad….that's why Hermione was here. I didn’t know what to do and she brought me the test. I would have asked Ginny, but she can’t keep a secret.” They both laughed at that. Rory wiped her face with the sleeve of Percy’s Christmas jumper that she had on.
Percy wrapped her back up in his arms, laying back down on the bed with her half on him. “Well, we know how I feel about this, but are you happy about it?” He whispered into her hair.
She tucked herself further into his neck, “Honestly at first I was in shock I think. Then I was panicking about your reaction, but now that I can truthfully think about it and let it set in. I am. I’m happy this happened to us. I want this, Perc. I’m scared as hell, but we can do it.” She pressed a kiss to his collarbone.
Percy smiled against her forehead before sliding down so that he was eye level with her stomach. Rory’s hand slid into his curls, playing with them. “Hello there darling. I’m your daddy. Me and your mum absolutely cannot wait to meet you. You are going to be the luckiest kid in the whole world because you are going to have the best mum ever.”
He pressed a kiss to her abdomen just above her belly button before working his way back up towards her mouth. He slotted his lip with hers with such passion it made tears well in her grey-green eyes again. “Thank you.” Kiss. “You’re amazing.” Kiss. “You are to be the best mother.” Kiss. “I love you both so much.” Kiss.
Rory smiled, “We love you, too.”
Percy flopped down beside her, “So ‘Mione is the only person that knows right?”
“Yeah besides us.” She said absentmindedly playing with the fingers on the hand that Percy left on her stomach protectively.
“Well, what do you say that we tell everyone this weekend about her?” He suggested.
“Her?” Rory’s eyebrow arched at him playfully.
Percy shot her a smile, and a wink. “Yes. Her. It’s a girl. I can feel it. Fathers intuition.”
She let out a laugh, “I don’t think that's how it works, but okay whatever you say. I think its a boy.”
Percy rolled his eyes at his beautiful girl, “How about we make a bet? When I’m right and it’s a girl I get to pick her first name and you her middle, and vice versa if you’re right. Which you aren’t.”
“Okay, you’re on Weasley.” They sealed it with a kiss. “But back on topic, yeah that’s fine. It’ll be a good chance to catch everyone together.” She smirked at him with a mischievous glint in her eye that looked all too much like Sirius’s. “Including my dads.”
Percy gulped at the thought of telling Sirius Black-Lupin, an ex Auror, and Remus Lupin, a werewolf, that he knocked up their little girl.

Y/n laid on the cold, hard, wet floor, her heart falling weaker and weaker as Tom- no Voldemort sucked the life out of her. She could hear something faintly, shouting, maybe an explosion. “Where am I?” she thought to herself. She felt another pull at her heart, telling her that something was going to happen. She didn’t really know what, everything was very foggy and dark. She heard shouting and gasps of pain that weren’t her own.
Suddenly everything unfogged and a lively feeling flowed back into her chest. She looked up and saw Harry with that horrible diary sitting in his hand. She gasped and dissolved into tears stuttering “Harry, I’m sorry, I tried to tell y-you and r-Ron but I didn’t want to say it in front of Percy. It was me - I’m going to get e-ex-expelled and I-I’ve only been here for t-two years. Where’s Riddle, what about the d-dia” Y/n was cut by Harry wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
“It’s alright y/n, it wasn’t your fault. He’s gone. And so is the Basilisk. Come on now, let’s go, Ron’s been worried sick!”
“R-Ron?” Y/n stuttered, she felt bad as she had forgotten about everything else.
“Yeah, he’s waiting at the entrance.” Harry explained. So y/n and Harry made their way through the chamber, past the snake shedding and to the entrance.
“Ron! Y/n’s ok, she’s alright!” Harry shouted, running.
“Y/N!” Ron’s face appeared in the gap, looking torn between being worried or excited. He helped Harry and Y/n climb through the gap. As soon as they were back on solid ground, Ron pulled Y/n into the most comforting hug, squeezing her tightly. “I thought I lost you,” he whispered.
“Never,” she sobbed. Harry was stroking Fawkes’ wings while Professor Lockhart was mumbling something to himself.
“Well then,” Harry exclaimed, gaining everyone’s attention. “Let’s get out of here.” Y/n clung to Ron as they grabbed onto Fawkes and soared up into Myrtle’s bathroom. Ron had an arm clutched tightly against y/n’s shoulders as they followed Fawkes into McGonagall’s office.
“Y/N,” Molly cried, running towards the door, Arthur not far behind. They scooped y/n, Ron and Harry up into a great hug. “I’ve got you. It’s going to be okay, you’re going to be okay.” Molly sobbed.
Y/n sobbed into Molly’s shoulder, taking in the comfort of her Mother and Father’s embrace. When they were released, Ron and Y/n stood to the side of the room with their arms around one another listening intently to Harry’s story. Dumbledore then asked y/n to go to the infirmary with her parents but before they could leave, Ron piped up and tightened his arm around you stuttering, “I’m not staying without her.”
“Very well then Mr. Weasley, take Mr. Lockhart down to the infirmary with you. Madame Pomfrey may be able to help him.” Dumbledore offered. Y/n and her family (and Lockhart) set off down the winding staircases.
“Oh that painting was there when we went here. Do you remember her Dear?” Arthur pointed out to Molly, in an attempt to lift the dark mood. Molly hummed absent-mindedly squeezing her husband’s hand. Ron and Y/n wandered down the hallways, almost shoulder-to-shoulder in an attempt to be kept close together.
After a few more minutes of walking, they arrived at the infirmary entrance. Arthur stepped forward to knock on the door. Madame Pomfrey flung the doors open, gasping. “Y/n! Oh, you should definitely sit down just over here in the corner.” She led the family to the bed in the far corner of the room, where an empty bed sat then returned to her job of reviving the petrified students.
Y/n sat upon the bed, still trembling violently. Ron and Molly sat on either side of her, rubbing her back comfortingly. Arthur took Lockhart over to Madame Pomfrey, in the middle of the room, closing the curtains behind him. Y/n lent into Ron’s warm embrace as Molly got off the bed and shuffled her youngest twins towards the headboard side of the bed, fluffing the pillows as Ron continued to comfort her oldest daughter.
The sound of shouting came from outside the doors and they flung open and Ginny, Fred, George and Percy’s voices came bustling throughout the hospital wing. “Dad!” Ginny exclaimed, y/n heard her four siblings’ frantic footsteps as they ran to their dad, who was still talking to Madame Pomfrey. “She’s in there,” y/n heard her dad whisper. Soon after four vibrant redheads burst through her curtains. “Y/N!” Fred and George cried. They clambered up onto the bed next to Y/n sitting either side of her legs. Ginny climbed on after them and laid down, half draped over y/n’s lap. Y/n started to stroke her little sister’s hair while George wiped away her tears. Ron snuggled closer to Y/n and laid his head on her shoulder. Percy stood to the side, tears silently streaming down his face while Molly pulled him into a hug.
At that moment, Arthur stumbled through the curtains levitating seven mugs of hot chocolate. He gave one out to each of his children and his wife, keeping one for himself. Once Percy had received his drink, he sat on the foot of the bed next to George.
Fred took Ron’s mug away from him, seeing that he was about to fall asleep. Just before Ron drifted off however he mumbled, “I’m glad you’re okay.”

Family reunion - Part 2
The second part is here! Hope you enjoy!
Masterlist
Part 1
Tumblr media
“My periods George! I only throw pillows at Fred when he bothers me during my periods!”
It was even a sort of joke between us. When he would speak too loud in the morning and I would throw him the first pillow I could reach, George would laugh at the scene and say that it was that time of the month where I would become a real tigress. Anyway, the realization was clearly visible in my boyfriend’s eyes.
“Oh. Fuck.”
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
Without waiting for them, I rushed into our room and quickly opened the wardrobe. In the middle of my panties, I had hidden two muggle pregnancy tests, just in case. I closed the wardrobe door quite violently and went back into the bathroom where Fred and George stood in the same position, trying to process what was happening. When my boyfriend saw the two boxes in my hand, his expression became confused.
“What’s this?”
“A muggle pregnancy test. It really works, don’t worry, but you don’t need to know how.” I added, anticipating his questions. “Now, get out of here!”
Once alone in the bathroom, I quickly used the two tests, just to be sure. I unlocked the door but didn’t open it, and sat on the chair. When the boys realized the door was open, they both joined me in, Fred leaning against the wall and George kneeling in front of me and holding my hands.
“Are you… You know?”
He couldn’t even say the word.
“We have to wait. If there are two bars then it means that I’m… It will be positive.”
These five minutes were a torture. An awful torture as tons of questions were filling my head, along with insecurities. If I was really pregnant, I would never give up on the baby, but what would George do? What would Mrs Weasley say? What kind of life could I offer to my child with the war ongoing? I became aware of the fact that I was crying when George’s thumbs wiped my tears.
“It’s okay, baby. Whatever happens, I’m with you.”
“We’re both with you, kiddo.” Added Fred with a gentle smile.
The time seemed to extend endlessly. I didn’t have the strength to watch the tests, so instead, I buried my face into George’s chest. Then Fred, with an emotional voice, pronounced the sentence that would change our lives.
“Y/N, you’re pregnant.”
I grabbed the tests: two pink bars. On both. I looked up to George. His eyes were teary, and the most genuine smile I had never seen on his face was plastered on his lips.
“We’re gonna be parents!”
He pulled me against him and kissed me sweetly. I could feel all his love for me and for the little baby growing in me, and I hoped he could feel my love for them. His arms were pressing me against him, and my hands were cupping his face. Our tears of joy gave a salty taste to our kiss, the taste of a genuine happiness, the taste of love. When we pulled back, Fred hugged me, tears of joy filling his eyes too. Then he took his brother into his embrace and patted his back, constantly muttering congratulations. This emotional moment between the twins was something I had never seen. It touched me and brought other tears into my eyes. George took my waist and pulled me between them. We stayed here a few minutes, enjoying this pure happiness.
However, the bliss brought in our little flat vanished partially as our uncertainties arrived. We were afraid because of the war, obviously, even if George had reiterated me his promise - “Y/N, what I told you earlier is truer than ever. You and our baby, you are my absolute priorities, I’ll protect you at all costs.”. Fred had also told me he would be here, taking advantage of George’s brief absence (“Whatever my brother thinks about it, just know that I would give my life for your little family, kiddo.”). I felt so secured with them… But all my worries weren’t gone because we still had one thing to do, one very dangerous thing: telling Mrs Weasley. I felt like on this one, the one risking his life was George. And it seemed like he was feeling it too because the same day, when we were happily chatting about the big changes that were going to happen, and when I mentioned his mother, my boyfriend’s face lost all colour.
“She’s gonna kill me…”
Obviously, Fred found the idea very funny and proposed to bet on which death their mother would choose.
“I know! She’s gonna wait until the little one’s birth, then she’s gonna put your face in dirty diapers.”
My laughters erupted as George muttered a “Gross.”. I was looking for an original way to announce it to George’s family. Sadly, I had never really had one of my own. Both my parents along with all my immediate family except my grandmother had been killed during the first war against He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, when I was little. My grandma had been unable to accept her loss, and she left me in an orphanage until my first year at Hogwarts. From this point, I became close with the twins and, aware of my situation, they invited me for Christmas to the Burrow. Mrs Weasley had immediately acted like the mother I couldn’t remember. She knew I lived in an orphanage and she made a point of letting me stay at the Burrow as often as possible.
I felt like this baby would also be a gift for her, and I wanted its future arrival to be a light in her darkened daily life. That’s why I wanted a special way to tell her, and, by Merlin’s pants, I had the Weasley twins on my side! Yeah, I thought about asking them for fireworks. But, what was the point if we didn’t have a proper audience?
“Boys, do you think we can reunite your family at the Burrow without telling your mother? She would be so happy to see Bill and Charlie! We could do that for the Easter Day.”
“Great idea, kiddo,” started Fred. “But Charlie is in Romania and Bill in France. Do you think we will have enough time to tell them?”
“Plus, we would have to inform Ron and Ginny that they have to come back. Where are they gonna stay?” Added George.
“Yes, it’s gonna work. Everyone will stay here until Easter.”
The following day, while the boys were working on the shop -George had forbidden me to work at least until the baby’s birth- I wrote the letters. I didn’t tell anything about my pregnancy, just that we wanted to reunite everyone. In Ron and Ginny’s one, I added that they would have to take the Hogwarts Express and that they would stay in our flat, so Harry and Hermione couldn’t come. I sent the three letters, hoping all would go well, and started to prepare the lunch.
The boys didn’t eat simultaneously so that the shop was never empty. This day, George was the first one to show up. He kissed me and slightly stroke my belly, but he quickly realized I had something to tell him.
“What’s bothering you babe?”
He started to eat, probably starving.
“I want to go to the Ministry of Magic today.”
He frowned.
“Why?”
“I want to see Percy.”
I knew he wouldn’t be fond of the idea, however I didn’t expect his face to drop like it did, nor did I expect the anger in his eyes.
“No way. This git hasn’t spoken to us in months, he has sent back his Christmas sweater to mum! He didn’t care about dad when he was at St-Mungo’s and… Do you remember how he lied to mum at Christmas? No, I don’t want him to be here.”
“George, he’s your brother! This baby is gonna be his nephew or his niece, and Molly wants nothing more than to see him! Please, let me try. Just try. I go to the Ministry, I talk to him, and if he doesn’t want to come, then I give up.”
George seemed to think for a while, but didn’t change his mind.
“No Y/N, sorry but I don’t want you to go there, especially alone.”
“Why?”
“Because of what happens outside!” He was now standing in front of me, a vein pulsating in his neck. “Fred and I have to make more Shield Hats and we can’t go with you, and I won’t let you alone. No way.”
I knew this overprotectiveness should have bothered me, but the genuine fear in his eyes as his hands were resting on my belly tenderized me. I slowly kissed him and whispered:
“I’m gonna be okay, Georgie. But you can’t keep me here like a bird in its cage. I will be very careful, I promise, and I won’t be long.”
With a sigh, he nodded.
I had never been to the Ministry’s headquarters. Before my departure, George had explained me what to do once in the telephone box. Following his instructions and the operator’s ones, I quickly found myself into the Atrium. It was huge, with in its center a big fountain. Getting closer, I saw its name - the Fountain of Magical Brethren. I asked for direction and went to find Percy’s office. I was wandering into a corridor, walking near the walls in order to prevent from disturbing the ones who were working, when I literally bumped into Percy. We were both frozen and watching the other in the eyes.
“Well, hello, Y/N… What are you doing here?”
He had recovered from his surprise and was now displaying a superior air.
“Don’t do that with me Perce, please, don’t be so pompous.”
“Sorry.”
Percy and I had surprisingly gotten along pretty well when we were younger. Maybe it was because I understood his dreams of greatness, or because I knew why he felt so different from the rest of his family without him telling me. Anyway, he was a good friend of mine, until his fight with his father… Mrs Weasley had begged me to talk to him, she thought he would listen to me… And she was wrong. He had slammed the door in my face, in the same way as with his mother, and he had told me some really mean things. We hadn’t seen each other since.
“Come in.”
I followed him into his little office. The desk was against the wall and cluttered with reports. A memory of him, slightly younger and babbling about some very important report made me smile.
“Is there one about cauldron bottoms?”
He looked at me with some kind of smile on the lips. However, the constant moving of his hands showed his nervousness. He didn’t tell anything, clearly waiting for me to express why I was here.
“Have you seen Fred and George’s shop?” It wasn’t at all what I wanted to say but I was as nervous as Percy. He frowned. “No, in fact, it doesn’t matter. Well… George and I have, hum, a kind of announcement and we… We wanted to, well, to announce it in front of all the family and I-we thought you would like to be here.”
Percy stayed silent for a while, looking everywhere except in my eyes. I was beginning to feel concerned about his hearing when he muttered something so low I almost didn’t catch it.
“I can’t, sorry.” Then his eyes fell on my hands. “You’re not gonna marry him, are you?”
“No, that’s not what it’s about.”
“Then… Are you pregnant?”
I stayed silent a few seconds, and nodded slowly. He cleared his throat, but a strange emotion remained in his voice.
“Congratulation, Y/N, I’m happy for the both of you.”
“Thanks, Perce.” I had to find something to convince him to come. “Percy, I really want you to come at the Burrow, please!”
“I can’t Y/N!” This time he spoke louder. “They don’t want to see me, and I’m too afraid to see them! I’ve been a git to them, yes, but they didn’t hold back the hurtful observations too. I won’t come, sorry Y/N.”
“But Percy, they miss you! Do you even have an idea of how much Molly had cried because she missed you? Your name has become a taboo because it’s too painful, and even if he doesn’t admit it, Arthur -”
“Stop!” He was now screaming. “Don’t tell me they miss me. If they don’t talk about me, it’s because they hate me. Don’t try to tell me my father miss me. Don’t try to tell me the twins miss me. It would be lies.”
“No Perce, they do!”
“They do? Then tell me, who wanted to see me at the Burrow, you or George?”
His face was red, and he was now looking straight into my eyes, daring me to lie. Of course he knew that I wanted to see him, not George, but if only everyone could explain themselves… No, it was useless. I saw it in his eyes, he was determined to ignore his family. I could cry in front of him, beg him, but he wouldn’t change his mind. I was about to leave his office, but I stopped in front of the door, my hand on the handle.
“If you change your mind, we’ll be at the Burrow at Easter. Bye, Percy. And… They don’t hate you, I know it.”
With that, I left and crossed the corridor as quickly as possible. I didn’t want to stay here, too saddened by my failure. I didn’t even realize that Mr Weasley was in the elevator.
“Y/N! What are you doing here? Is everything okay?”
I smiled, not wanting him to know why I was here.
“Yes, I’m fine and you?”
“A little tired, I’ve had a lot of work lately and -”
He stopped himself, glaring at a man who had just entered the elevator. Mr Weasley stayed silent until the cabin stopped at his level. He muttered me to follow him and soon we arrived in an office slightly larger than Percy’s one.
“You shouldn’t be here alone, Y/N.” Mr Weasley had an unusual look of disapproval in his eyes. Then he seemed worried. “Is there something wrong? With George? Did you fight or…”
“No, don’t worry Mr Weasley! Everything’s fine, really. I just…” I had to find something. “I wanted some fresh air and I thought I could come and see you.”
What a stupid excuse.
“Well, we can say fresh air isn’t missing lately.” Mr Weasley was watching through the window.
“Why is everything so cold and so dark?” I murmured.
“The Dementors, Y/N. They are everywhere and out of control. That’s why you being alone is a big mistake. If you want, you can wait for me and I’ll walk you home.”
“No, thanks Mr Weasley, but don’t worry, I’ll be okay.” I smiled.
After some banalities, I left him to his work and went back to the shop. George was worried sick and pacing in front of the shop. When he saw me, he ran towards me and pulled me into a strong embrace. Later that day, while Fred, George and I were eating dinner, I told them what happened at the Ministry. I told them everything, except the fact that Percy was afraid they would hate him forever. I felt like I didn’t have the right to do so, and I could just hope that one day, he would have the courage to face his beloved family.

Summry:
AU where Percy is roman and Annabeth is searching from him. "But you still listened to me, Jackson" Annabeth replied with a small smile on her lips. "But I still listened to you, Chase" he repeated copying her smile, the boy's smile was predatory, the smile of a boy who knows he's going to get in trouble ... and he doesn't care.

Romans exist Annabeth repeated over and over again as she walked beside Nico.
They were both leading the Greek camp, walking the streets of New Rome. As much as Annabeth wanted to pout, she couldn't stop admiring the columns, the buildings, the marble stairs… all the classic architectural elements that Annabeth thought would be in Rome, they were here, in San Francisco. The whole city exorbitated wealth and classicism, the people wearing a mix of robes and modern clothes, the streets lined with shops that had the smallest campers trotting from window to window. Among the people walked what were lares, spirits - ghosts - of the home, Nico had already warned them of them when he had visited the camp for the first time together with Jason and with the blessing of his father, becoming an ambassador of Hades ... Pluto .
Now that they were in Rome, Hades is Pluto.
And Athena, Minerva. And Minerva has no children and is not a strategist goddess. Here is a simple virgin goddess of the arts.
On the Field of Mars were two people shoulder to shoulder, dressed in purple, white and gold robes, like the ancient Roman emperors. One was blond-haired, and Annabeth knew instantly that it was Jason, his hair shining in the sunlight, while next to him was a Latin girl, with long dark hair in a braid.
"Annabeth. Welcome to New Rome” Jason welcomed, as he spread his arms before them, his blue eyes narrowing at his smile. “She is Reyna, the second praetor of Rome. Nico, you already know her. "
"Daughter of Minerva " Reyna reached out to Annabeth. Annabeth could notice how her siblings were tense, Malcolm was behind her trying to calm the little ones.
"Athena" Annabeth corrected in the calmest way possible, her body seemed calm, but she was watching every movement of the praetor. Annabeth had realized that the girl was just like her, a strategist ready for an attack at any moment.
"Welcome to New Rome" Reyna slightly moved one of her eyebrows. “Jason's friends are our friends. We hope that your instance here is as placid as possible. I'm leaving my colleague Jason to take you on a tour of our city, I have to attend to some business ”Reyna gave Jason a look, one of those looks that is only understood among familiar people, gave him a squeeze on the arm and left followed by her two metal greyhounds.
"Really, Jason? Minerva?"
"I know I'm sorry. I've told her- Hello to you too Travis, yes Connor, I haven't forgotten about you, I'm talking to Annabeth for a moment, can you-? Thanks, Malcolm” Jason tried to get rid of the Stoll brothers, Malcolm who was seeing everything from behind, grabbed the two brothers by their ears and led them to the other end of the Field of Mars. "As I said. I told Reyna, I told her everything I needed to know about the Greeks and Camp Half-Blood, but she is…” Jason waved his hand in the air trying to find a word. "Difficult?"
Annabeth studied Jason for a few more seconds, making him more nervous than he was, his hand kept moving his glasses and his feet moved slightly from side to side. Annabeth rejoiced knowing she made Jupiter's son nervous.
"I don't blame you Jason, you're just trying to do what you can." Jason's shoulders immediately relaxed at those words. Annabeth may have been proud but not a masochist. "Now show us where to stay, oh preator."
"Now do you know Latin?"
" I've done a bit of research."
---
Their rooms were simply a camp built by a group of Roman demigods on the outskirts of the city of New Rome, as far away as possible.
Big tents with all their amenities arranged for the campers, the smaller greek campers were hopping around, excited about a night of camping out in the open, the hut bosses were running after them to calm them down, though many of them gave up even before chasing them.
"I never would have thought the Romans would exist," Malcolm whispered next to Annabeth. They were both a bit away from the chaotic camp watching them. "I wish Chiron was here." Annabeth nodded slightly; Chiron had been her father since he ran away from his family in San Francisco. The two had been inseparable since she arrived at the camp shortly after Thalia's death, Chiron always came to her when she had a problem, always counting on her opinion in any matter that arose. “Do you think he will be here? Come on, Annabeth, don't look at me like that, we have the same mother,” he laughed. “You haven't stopped looking for him since the battle, and I know you're waiting for the right moment to tell Jason. Have you ever considered that maybe he is a fugitive demigod? "
Annabeth had indeed considered that this boy had become a fugitive demigod. A demigod without a camp, who wandered from one place to another away from monsters and without having a stable place.
“Yes, I have thought about it, but…” Annabeth could feel her cheeks flush with embarrassment, “it's a hunch, okay? I know it's stupid, but I feel like it must be around here."
Annabeth wanted to drown in humiliation, Athena's children didn't follow hunches, they followed clues and logic.
Malcolm stared at her for a long time, until his shoulders sagged in defeat, “Of course it's not stupid. I just want you to remember that there is a possibility that he is not here…” Malcolm shifted between his own feet, unsure. "Or that you will never find it."
---
The Romans dining room was not disappointing either. Long wooden tables adorned with fruit bowls, silver jugs filled with drink and glasses of the same metal. The Romans were talking and throwing jokes as well as food, some were speaking louder, while others were observing their companions.
The image itself was a shock to Annabeth, she didn't know why, but she had imagined the Romans as stoic people, eating meals without laughter or talking, but the image in front of her showed her that she had been wrong.
The sound of a glass silenced everyone in the dining room, Reyna was up with a small golden dagger and a glass of the same colour, "We want to officially welcome, both my partner Jason, like me" Jason like Reyna , raised and with a golden glass in his hand, but instead of being next to him he was at the table of the Greeks with his friends Leo and Piper. “We hope that your stay in Nueva Roma will be as comfortable as possible and that our relationships for the future will be strengthened and grown for prosperity. Iubentium."
“We are very grateful that you have allowed us to stay in your camp, we hope that, like you, our relationship grows and strengthens over time and for future generations, in order to have a powerful ally among us. Cheers.” While making the speech, she tried to look around to find the boy without attracting much attention, but not locating him, Annabeth focused only on Reyna. When she finished Annabeth raised her glass at the same time as Reyna, both looking at each other as they drank from her glass, calculating each other's every move.
"Nice speech" Nico murmured next to her.
"It's sarcasm?"
“Pf, yes and no. The speech was fine, but you could tell in the air how you were throwing knives at each other” he said simply as he swallowed four chips at the same time. Clarisse who was listening nearby snorted proudly at Annabeth.
"I do not like her. She’s hard to read,” Annabeth admitted as she tossed her food back and forth without much appetite.
“Normal” Nico drank from his Coca-Cola, “her mother is Bellona, the Roman goddess of strategy. She is also watching you Annabeth and can't figure you out. You both collide by nature- Will, I'm not going to eat a pear, I hate pears."
Annabeth let the two boys argue about nutritional values and her gaze began to search among the many heads of the Romans, but as before, no clue of that boy.
"Oh Hazel. What good find "Annabeth looked up listening to the voice of Jason. Hazel, she supposed, was the girl with dark skin and curly hair, the girl was very short in stature, maybe she was not over thirteen. She was dressed in a purple T-shirt and gold breastplate, her matching helmet carried under one arm, and a sword slightly too large for her hung from her hip. "Ah, I didn't know you were talking to your brother, I'm sorry Nico, but do you know where Jackson is?"
Hazel was thoughtful for a moment, but then shook her head, “He wasn't on watch today, and from what Frank has told me, I don't think he's in the stables. Maybe in the bathrooms? I do not know."
“Ah… don't worry, it doesn't matter. I just wanted him to meet the Greeks.” He turned to Annabeth when he saw her confused face. "Jackson is a ... how to say, a free spirit?" Jason laughed at the comparison. "He does not like to follow the rules very much and he always gets into trouble, surely you would get along well."
"He's my kind of man," Connor blurted out from behind his brother, his hair full of roots, growing little by little around his neck.
"Susan, please don't strangle Connor at lunch." Piper scolded Demeter's daughter from the other end.
"Susan, don't stop," shouted a son of Aphrodite from the other end.
The cries of the Greek demigods filled the air of the dining room. Some encouraging Susan to strangle Connor, Hermes cabin maliciously clawing at Connor's face to break the roots. Other campers rose from their seats to watch the show between Demeter's cabin and Hermes. Hazel who was still present next to Nico giggled at the ruckus that had formed in a very short time.
"I can't imagine what your camp will be like day by day."
Annabeth smiled at the teenager with pride warming her chest as she saw the scene that had been lovingly formed.
---
Ares's cabin exploded into cheers upon hearing the news that they were going to fight the Romans, at the same time, Hermes's cabin joined in the cheers, leaving the other campers staring at each other with terror in their eyes.
Annabeth studied Jason's proposal, she knew that it was tradition to have friendly fights (in the case of the Greeks to capture the flag), but after meeting Reyna, Annabeth expected any trap to catch the Greeks and give an excuse to the Greeks. Romans to attack them.
Nico and Piper were next to her, studying her reaction.
"Annabeth, I think Jason wouldn't have proposed this to us if there really was a trap." Piper tried to reason with her, inadvertently using her charmspeak.
"It doesn’t matter if he is a praetor, that doesn’t mean that they tell him everything" she murmured stubbornly, the two have been friends for a long time and her charmspeak no longer had that much effect.
"Nico, tell him that nothing is going to happen."
Nico, instead of answering, was silent with his two hands in his pockets, hunched over, looking at the ground, a small mouse skeleton curled up at his feet.
"What do you want me to say? What Chase said is true. ” Nico reached down and scooped up the mouse skeleton in the palm of his hand. “Jason is… a visionary. And visionaries tend to have a lot of ideas, and those ideas cause change. The Romans don't like change. They like tradition. And right now, the tradition is that both Greeks and Romans are separated, as they always have been. "
"You're no help, death boy," Piper growled, earning an angry scowl from the smaller boy.
"Can you feel if something bad is going to happen?"
"If someone is going to die?" Nico frowned again, but this time in concentration. "No. Everything is still fine; nothing feels out of place. "
"You see? No carnage is going to form,” Leo exclaimed jovially from behind Piper. "Don't look at me like that mija, it's a good thing!"
"But that doesn't mean there is going to be a catch."
Piper threw both hands in the air, finally giving up on this conversation. Annabeth was too stubborn to change her mind.
The girl from before, Hazel, came back together with a boy much taller than her and leafier, they both greeted Nico happily and he responded dryly, as always, too focused on his new skeleton pet. The two Romans were there to guide them to the weapons room, where they can equip themselves for the afternoon games.
Hazel was talking animatedly to Nico, her curly hair trotting as she walked, the boy a little further behind the two demigods, always keeping a safe distance from the son of Hades. Annabeth raised an eyebrow when she noticed that the boy was afraid of poor Nico.
The leaders of the huts tried to line up their brothers to give them the necessary weapons, but as always, no one was listening to anyone, so everyone ran to get the best weapon they could find. Both Annabeth and Nico stood at the gate watching, both carrying their weapons on their hips, Annabeth watched her brothers giving advice to the other campers on which weapons would suit them best in battle, while Nico watched Will trying to calm her down. his brothers when it came to catching arrows and bows, a small group from Apollo's hut stayed behind Will, hinting that they would be the paramedics on the battlefield.
When everyone was already armed and protected with armour, they followed the two Roman boys to the Field of Mars.
“Wow, why do they have a battlefield? I also want one!" Ares's hut began to protest as they admired the battlefield.
"And have you seen his armoury?"
"I do not like. It's all outdoors, I prefer to be in the forest. "
“So you can tangle me with roots again? No thanks."
"I told you it was accidental!"
"Unintentionally does not mean catching someone with roots and hanging them from a tree."
"Mathew is trying to cast a spell on me!"
"The Romans are going to crush us," Nico muttered.
Annabeth didn't have the mind to worry about the campers, she already had different routes and strategies in mind to fight the Romans. Yes, the Romans may be very meticulous and were known worldwide for their formations on the battlefields. But the Greeks had a factor that they did not have, they had no order. The Greeks were neither orderly nor organized, in the battles each one went on his own, without following any training, and that freedom when fighting could give them an advantage right now.
The Romans were already in the middle of the field, all standing in ranks and cohorts, dressed in golden armour and red shields. The image gave Annabeth chills.
In front of the five cohorts were the two praetors, both dressed in purple capes and like the other Roman campers, in gold armour. Whereas Jason had an excited glint in his eyes as he spotted Leo and Piper amid the tide of demigods; Reyna, on the other hand, her gaze was not as friendly as that of her partner, with her arms crossed and her back straight she watched as the mestizo camp arrived at the place.
Annabeth wanted to get rid of the bad feeling she had in her body, she could imagine what the Romans were seeing when they arrived at the place, a group of unstructured demigods walking scattered around the place, some were running around, others were on top of others, some they were lagging in the back. Annabeth shook her thoughts, the Greeks defeated the army of Cronos, a titan, they were not weak.
When Annabeth arrived at the scene, standing in the front row, with the entire camp behind her, she watched Camp Jupiter, some of the campers who were there laughing at each other as they shot them glances.
“As you are smaller in number, a cohort will help you during the games. Fifth cohort."
The first cohorts began to laugh among themselves as they looked at the last cohort, in it, the two centurions in front were visibly discouraged. One of them took out a flask and began to drink from it, while the other centurion tried to shake him off.
"Each group go to your place."
And with that said, each group went to one side of the field. Annabeth waited for the Fifth Cohort to approach them.
"Good luck with the graecus."
"In the end, the outcasts gather among themselves."
"How many victories are we going to have already?"
"I think twenty-seven."
"No, thirty."
Despite the comments from the campers, one of the centurions tried to liven up the atmosphere, cheering up his subordinates, giving smiles and patting on the back, while the other centurion continued to drink from his flask while visibly leaning on his companion.
“We are the fifth cohort. Jason has told us a lot about you” the centurion introduced himself. "I'm Gwendolyn, and this is my partner Dakota ... don't worry he's drinking Kool-Aid", slapping her hand on the flask caught his attention.
"I hope you like losing." Dakota lifted his flask and took a sip. Annabeth raised an eyebrow.
"Annabeth. I guess you know who Nico is. She's Clarisse… There is Will… Oh, this is Piper…” Annabeth rummaged through the other campers with the cabin leaders, but seeing that the Stoll brothers were doing their thing, she stopped naming with a sigh.
"Are you all the praetors?" Dakota exclaimed upon hearing the number of names Annabeth had named.
"Mn? Oh no. We are the cabin leaders. A cabin by God. "
The Fifth Cohort gaped at them. Apparently, they did have more differences than they imagined.
“We are always defending ourselves. It's easier to accept defeat.” Gwen shrugged.
"Pathetic" Clarisse snorted. Both Ares's and Nike's cabins supported her.
"You don't know who is in the first cohort!"
"Of course, we don't know, we are new, remember?" said Fred, a Hermes boy, who bore a horrible resemblance to the Stoll brothers.
"And we do not care, we are going to crush them" a girl from Nike jumped up from behind, hitting her fist with her hand for more emphasis, both Nike's cabin and Ares's hut jumped in cheers at those words.
"Let’s not get so excited, they are not monsters ..." A child from Iris tried to quietly calm the other campers.
"Shut up Eugene."
Annabeth sighed and looked sideways at the Romans, "We never stare." Annabeth turned to be seen by both Greeks and Romans. "We are going to attack. Romans and Greeks. Will, choose one of your brothers to go into battle for medical help. Nico, I think you already know what to do. Nina, she will give you some inventions from Hephaestus's cabin, listen to her well what they are for. You Romans, stand in the front row, shields raised and prepare to defend. "
Annabeth watched as everyone fell into place. Will named some of his faster brothers to go to the field, while Nico caught some of the Hermes and Demeter campers explaining the plan. Piper, in the background, was practicing her spell-talk with Leo. Nina was handing out small gadgets to some of the campers followed by Hecate's children who were giving some explanations of how they worked. Clarisse, along with Nike's hut and Ares were sharpening their weapons, looking with sharp smiles at the Romans scaring them.
"How do you know we are going to win? She is nothing but a daughter of Min… Athena. And they are Romans, and they always play dirty, no matter what you do, we are going to lose” Annabeth made out Dakota's voice behind her as she fixed her golden bib.
"Athena always has a plan." Annabeth smiled at Malcolm's voice.
---
Ugh. Annabeth hated fighting in the open field, she preferred to fight in the woods of the half-blood camp, it was easier to hide there, and the trees helped her to form even more convoluted plans than usual.
From his place he could see how Reyna flew over the fields of Mars on the back of her pegasus, even from there he could see her frown and how she judged them from the sky. On the floor and sitting in a box, Jason was looking at them with bright and expectant eyes, Annabeth couldn't help but think that Jason looked like a labrador retriever, wagging his tail from side to side excitedly.
On the other side of the field were the other cohorts, preparing for battle, from her place, Annabeth could see as they were placed in an attack position, prepared to fight.
"Are you sure it's going to work?" Malcolm appeared behind her.
"I hope so." Malcolm glanced at her, looked like he wanted to say something, but at the last moment he closed his mouth and hunched his shoulders in defeat.
"They look prepared," he simply said. "I'm scared."
"For us?" Annabeth this time looked at him raising an eyebrow.
"Mn? No way. For them. I don't think I've ever seen Clarisse so excited in a battle, I think I've heard her say she's going to try to split the Romans in two. The Romans have never had to endure the fury of the sons of Ares. "
"And the Nike ones," Annabeth recalled.
"Don't remind me, ugh."
Both Annabeth and Malcolm laughed as they watched the Romans on the other side moving from side to side.
A trumpet sounded from overhead, Annabeth raised her head and saw Reyna look her directly in the eye. All of this was challenging. A challenge to see if the Greeks were worth it. And Annabeth already knew.
Taking one last look at the Romans already in position, she went to hers, raising her eyebrow in recognition of Reyna.
---
“Gwendolyn, I need you to help us form defences. Get into position swinging line, on the left flank, not right. Put the archers in the first row, not in the last, and then in the second row put an arrow line. "
Gwendolyn looked at her with wide eyes, shocked to hear the Greek know the Roman techniques and embarrassed that she did not know any Greek techniques. With a nod of his head he ran after his fellow Romans giving them Annabeth's orders.
Seeing that her zone was in motion, she braced herself. Praying that he hadn't been wrong.
From her spot she could see how the fifth cohort got into the position she had said, thanking herself for her curiosity in having studied Roman defence tactics. The fifth cohort advanced from their position, alerting the Romans to their orthodox attacking position, the archers should be behind not in front, and it was the right flank that was more protected than the left, just as soldiers with arrows should be in the front row. Annabeth heard the confused sounds of the other cohorts when she saw that position, cracking their positions and hesitating when attacking, she could hear the confusing sounds of the enemy cohorts from her place. That made her smile.
After appreciating their tactics in action, Annabeth jumped into action. Picking up her dagger, she jumped to the right flank, seeing that the defence of that area was weakened, running between the Roman and Greek campers.
From her place she could see Nico's signal, probably aided by his sister Hazel, a lump, almost imperceptible on the ground, with a silver coin gleaming in the sunlight. Taking a deep breath, she lunged for the signal, dodging and kicking the Romans, and the Greeks pulling away with experience. She could see the silver coin shining brighter every time she got closer, but halfway there she saw a group of Romans rush over the sign, taking it to the other side of the field.
"Shit," Annabeth blurted out after someone tackled her.
"Minerva's daughter," a Roman hissed. The boy had a shield almost the same height as him and was covered by golden armour. His face was covered by a helmet of the same material. Annabeth snorted at those words. Right now, he didn't feel like fighting an angry idiot. "You are going to learn to respect our goddess-"
Without letting him finish the sentence, Annabeth lunged towards the boy and he raised the shield reflexively, just before she hit the shield, Annabeth turned to the side, surprising the Roman with a kick to his back, throwing him to the side. From above, Annabeth raised her dagger to threaten the boy at her feet, but when she raised her hand, she realized that his dagger was gone. Looking everywhere for it, she acknowledges that the poor dagger had disappeared at the time of the tackle.
Annabeth wanted to hit a wall.
"Annie!" Piper yelled from her right throwing something at her. Annabeth reflexively raised her arm and saw that what Piper had thrown at her was nothing more than a stick in the shape of a 'y'. “Don't look at me like that, it was you who asked me to look for him if there was an emergency. Hey you! You are very sleepy ... be careful! oh, he fell head-on, do you think he'll be okay? That had to hurt. "
Annabeth shook her head and took the stick in the shape of an 'y' and with a calculated blow she hit the boy at her feet on the head knocking him unconscious. Taking the stick by its shorter sides, she put the longer stick in front of him, pointing her way. Pointing it to the ground.
The stick had not yet moved, leading Annabeth to despair, the Greek kept pacing back and forth, sometimes in circles, looking for the stick to vibrate. Was she wrong? She was seldom wrong, and she was too proud to accept that she was wrong. In addition, she was the daughter of Athena, she could find another solution, every problem has a solution. A small vibration went up his arms, jumping from his place he saw the long stick vibrate to the ground. Releasing the air that she did not know she was holding, she followed the vibrations of the stick, following the path that led to the stick vibrating even more. She stayed above a point where the vibrations had made her arms not stop shaking.
It's here. Annabeth thought.
A clash of metal made her raise her head.
"Do you want to become a skewer or what?" The boy in front of her yelled from his helmet. That boy had stopped an attack from the other side, an attack that was going for her. Snorting, Annabeth ignored him, but marked with her foot where the stick had pointed. "I've saved your life and that's how you thank me-"
Annabeth pushed the boy away when she saw from the corner of her eye that another Roman was going after them, throwing the boy to one side, she dodged the spear by turning on herself, grabbed that spear at the same time, pulling the Roman towards her and knocking them out with one of his elbows.
Turning around, she saw how both the boy and she were cornered by a group of Romans with their spears pointed at them. They both unconsciously approached each other, touching each other back to back, noticing their breaths. The boy's helmet fell right next to the two boys, Annabeth imagined that the boy had thrown the helmet out of frustration.
"You are surrounded" shouted one of the Romans.
"Really? I didn’t see it” the boy behind him said slightly, the boy resting his head on the crown of Annabeth's head, thanks to the fact that he was at least half a head taller than her.
"Surrender."
The group of Romans stepped forward, further closing the circle that the two boys had around them.
Annabeth surveyed her surroundings, still noting the weight on her head. Out of the corner of his eye he saw that the boy was wearing a short-sleeved shirt, revealing his tattoo on his arm. Annabeth's heart leapt at the sight of him.
"I have a plan."
"Huh. It's going to be suicide."
"Maybe. But I'm not going to lose to the Romans."
"Do I have to remind you that I am a Roman?"
Annabeth wanted to kick him. "There is water below us. Use it."
Annabeth noticed how the boy tensed behind her. "I cannot."
"Yes, you can. I've seen your tattoo."
The boy gulped, his breathing shallower and faster. "I've never done."
You're must be kidding me, Annabeth thought. "That's not what I saw in New York, seaweed brains."
"Gods, you're wise girl" Seaweed brains let out a slow breath, Annabeth could tell how the boy shook his head slightly. "I still remember you, you know? That back kick hurt too much."
"I took a stab for you."
Seaweed brains laughed shaking his shoulders, "I still owe you one, now that you mention it."
"Well, if you owe me one, use the water." Annabeth nudged him in the ribs as he hissed between her teeth.
"It’s not that easy. The Romans hate everything that surrounds my father, remember? Give thanks that they let me be in this camp" little by little, both Annabeth and the boy were placed in attack position.
"And what difference does it make if they hate you, all the more reason for you to use your power, they won't change their opinion of you."
"They can kick me out of the camp."
"You have another camp on the other side of the country."
Seaweed brains turned, making her pull with him. The breath of Annabeth stayed in her throat. The boy was just as she remembered, if not, even better. He had grown in recent years, his hair, which was short before, was now longer and even blacker if that was possible, making his long hair tousled as if he had walked by the sea. His sea green eyes shone with that expression of melancholy and sarcasm that captivated Annabeth the first time she saw him. Even his skin glowed a golden hue in the San Francisco sun, and he had grown in recent years, becoming taller than her.
"You're still as eloquent as the last time I saw you, wise girl."
"I didn't know you knew that word."
"I've done a bit of research. I still remember not understanding half of the words you were saying."
"But you still listened to me, Jackson" Annabeth replied with a small smile on her lips.
"But I still listened to you, Chase" he repeated copying her smile, the boy's smile was predatory, the smile of a boy who knows he's going to get in trouble ... and he doesn't care.
Seaweed Brain put his hand into a fist and instant water came around the couple, drowning the group of Romans who were around him. Annabeth heard the screams behind the wall of water, she also saw how the Romans tried to swim among the torrent of water, dust and sand, spears and shields sailed without an owner. Lowering his hands, the water calmed down as the tidal wave of Romans, weapons and shields fell to the ground.
"Here" Seaweed brains threw a dagger in his direction. Annabeth took it instinctively, realizing shortly after that it was her dagger. "You had lost it."
A scream sounded behind Percy, causing Annabeth to act quickly, making the Roman a hold on his arm and throwing him with all his might to the ground.
"Ugh, that had to hurt" Percy giggled, scratching his neck slowly. Walking towards the Roman he leaned out so he could see his face. "Now someone has suffered what I had to suffer. I still don't know how you can lift all that weight like nothing. You told me you were going to teach me, wise girl."
A horn sounded from the sky, ending the battle. Annabeth rose from the ground, stepping over the fallen Roman and standing by Percy's side, staring at the mess he had made. The water had formed a diameter of at least two kilometres, washing away all the opposing combatants, leaving the allies dry. Awesome.
"The Greeks have won" Reyna's voice rang out over the entire battlefield.
"Wow. As always your plans work" Percy glanced at her. "I thought you were going to be more excited to see me. It's been a few years now that I think about it, how's Grover doing, I tried to talk to him, but-"
Teary-eyed Annabeth silenced him with a fist on his jaw.
---
The first time Annabeth saw Percy was in New York, a few months before the battle against Kronos. The boy had run into her while on the run against a monster. Annabeth, out of sheer instinct, grabbed his arm and helped him escape from the monster, both working in perfect coordination, which caused Annabeth to have chills all over her body.
Annabeth and Percy had been partners ever since, both working shoulder to shoulder to defeat Cronos. The only problem was that Percy was never at Camp Half-Blood, always making excuses when Annabeth told him to visit.
It was when Grover showed up that Annabeth got her confirmations on Percy. He was a Roman demigod, not a Greek, he was the son of Neptune, not Poseidon. A strange sensation had risen up the girl's back, she could even notice her mother looking at her with accusing eyes.
You have joined the enemy. With the enemy.
She even noticed how a bubble of hatred grew when he thought of the Roman demigod, but when he saw those green eyes, the bubble exploded. The boy was looking at her fearfully, his eyes staring at the ground, preparing to leave her sight, but he also had a defeated look, as if he already knew what was going to happen. Annabeth shook off the feeling of that bubble of hatred and smiled at Percy, making that look the boy had disappear in a moment.
From that day on, Percy, Grover and Annabeth were inseparable, always staying at the boy's house to make plans, although it was more like Annabeth making plans and Grover and Percy eating Miss Jackson’s cookies. Part of her time she was asking about the world of the Romans, her curiosity floating around as she listened to the information the boy gave her. She learned that Neptune was not as respected as in the world of the Greeks, she also heard how Percy told him the threats he suffered when he tried to use his control over the water. The only person he got along with was Jason, a son of Jupiter, they were both in the same cohort, and now they were more than friends, both always together, despite the voices of the lares and the other demigods, all of them wanted to keep the great Jason away from the son of Neptune, a boy who only brought bad luck and trouble.
Annabeth and Percy grew closer each day, somehow Percy complemented her. On the outside it seemed that he was nothing more than a handsome boy without a head, but being almost living together in the boy's house, Annabeth realized that it was only the boy's personality, he was much smarter than he seemed, filling in the blank holes of Annabeth's plans. He also had blind faith in her, something that caused her mixed feelings. His fatal flaw was loyalty, Minerva had told him on one of her missions.
And the day of the Battle of New York arrived, they decided it was better than Percy did not speak about his Roman lineage, both say that Percy is a fugitive demigod, and had seen the danger had formed in his city and he had come to help.
They both fought shoulder to shoulder, as if they had grown up a lifetime together. Both protected their backs and threw themselves for the attacks that went to the other.
In the battle of the bridge, when Rachel came to speak about the prophecy, Annabeth stood in front of Percy, blocking a lunge that went for the boy, falling seriously injured. Annabeth did not remember much of what happened next, she only noticed painful palpitations in her body, how little by little her body became cold, but at the same time the wound was burning. There was a moment when he opened his eyes and looked Percy in the eye.
“You are cute when you worry, with your sulky eyebrows. "
Thanks to the great work of the Apollo children, Annabeth was at 75 percent of her abilities, and ready to fight Kronos. The three friends, Percy, Annabeth and Grover went to Olympus to finally fight Cronos.
The memory of Eric still hurt Annabeth, she remembered how she had given her life to betray Cronos, despite the fact that his betrayal was useless, since Luke's body was bathed in the Styx river. Eric's words echoed in their ears, asking for their help so that the next generations of demigods were recognized by their parents. After Eric's death, Percy had given the knife to Luke, having full faith in Annabeth and that her persuasion would bring Luke to light. The knife entering the demigod's body caused Kronos's body to turn to nothing but dust, leaving Luke's dead body.
Annabeth had fallen to her feet, clutching Luke in her arms, Percy and Grover on either side of her. Annabeth knew that Percy couldn't stay in this place for long. Rising up with a force she didn't know where she had gotten it from, she had escorted Percy to the elevator, leaving Grover by Luke's side and helping Thalia somewhere on Olympus.
"I have to go back to Camp Jupiter," Percy whispered, they were both about the same height, their eyes being on the same level. Percy's eyes were red, and pockets of water accumulated in them. Annabeth's eyes were surely worse.
"Before the gods return," Annabeth whispered as well.
"We will see each other again" the phrase sounded more like a question, green eyes searching for something between grey eyes.
Annabeth didn't answer him but kissed him at the elevator doors. It was a soft and loving kiss. Annabeth didn't know when she was going to see him again ... or if she was going to see him again. Before the boy could say anything, she pushed him into the elevator.
"Chase, we'll meet again." This time it didn't sound like a question, but rather a statement. The sea green eyes held great determination.
And the doors were closed.
And it took two years for me to see him again.
---
The Romans around her gasped as Annabeth knocked Neptune's son down with a punch to the jaw. Annabeth didn't let him get up, getting on top of him putting an arm around his throat, hinting that she would strangle him without a doubt.
Percy, instead of revealing himself, laughed under her. His green eyes sparkled with new light, tearing at the wide, white-toothed smile he now wore. Some of his freckles that came out from the sun were hidden among his wrinkles. From above Annabeth could see the resemblance he had to Poseidon, both with black hair and brown skin, and both with the same wrinkles next to their eyes that appeared when they smiled.
"You're cute when you worry." Percy held up a finger, putting it in the same place Annabeth had put it two years ago, between her eyebrows. "With your brows furrowed."
Annabeth whimpered and lunged toward the boy, hugging his shoulders and neck. Annabeth could hear the boy giggling as he hugged her back. Raising her head, through the tears she only recognized those green eyes that had haunted her for years and without thinking twice she kissed him.

Chapter 14 // Chapter 16
Tumblr media
"It was a simple task and you couldn't even do it," Ares complains. His face flushed with anger.
"You asked me to use an unforgivable spell, not only was I going to risk my life with a ticket to Azkaban, you asked me to murder an innocent family!" Tears run down my face. "They had a little boy!”
"Muggles, either way!”
“Not because they don't have magic it means they deserve to be killed. They didn't know why they were there!”
"What don't they deserve?" His teeth gnash, he grabs my arm very tightly. "All your life we’ve taught you your position in this family, in this society–and now you come out with this nonsense! Don't tell me that you’re fond of them now…” His grip grows stronger and I complain. "Because if that's the case... you'd better not live anymore in this house"
I remain silent, impressed by my father's words. I don't understand how we went from being the perfect family to this. I always saw my father as a hero, the one who was always going to protect me from everything. But now…
“N-no…” He nods and releases me.
"Go away," He hisses and I don't wait any longer to run away from there.
I go up the stairs and stop at the bottom of them. My breathing is accelerated. I look at my right arm, which has a mark on. I lean against a wall and once my breathing is even, I walk to a door and knock several times. Apollo opens it
"I need Jane,” I say in a whisper and I raise my arm to show him. He looks down.
“Who–?" He stops half a question and looks me straight in the eye. I nod. He steps back and lets me into his old room. "Love, Persephone needs you…”
Jane comes out of the bathroom and when she sees my wound, she sighs.
"We haven't been in this house long, how many times have you hurt yourself, honey?" Although I know she’s not joking, I can't help but laugh at her question.
She shares her head with a smile. I sit on Apollo’s bed and Jane is focused on healing my arm. Apollo moves arranging his things along with his wife's in the room, I suppose this room’s smaller than the one in her home.
“Apollo-“ He stops at my call. "When your baby is born, will I be able to visit you?" I know Jane wants to answer, but I don't take my eyes off my older brother. And for the first time in a long time, he gives me a smile, just for me.
"Of course you can, Persephone."
——————————————
The rest of the vacation passed quickly, especially since I spent it almost every day in my room to avoid any problem. I only spoke with Jane and sometimes with Apollo, Juno spoke to me just to ask for favors and the other two only to annoy me, but since I didn't play along like before, they got bored and left me be.
But finally I'm back at Hogwarts and the first person I see when I enter the castle is Remus, who greets me with a big hug. Which I really needed.
"Thanks for the notebook, Wolfie," I whisper before we part and he laughs.
"You're welcome. By the way, the book you sent me is the one I was missing, thank you,” He says and I wink. "I don't think your vacation was as happy as what you told me in your letters," I shrug.
"It could be worst. Any progress with the super plan?”
He smiles.
“Maybe. I have an idea, but I still have to think about some things, the important thing is that I think it can be achieved,” I sigh in relief.
"Those words are music to my ears."
"I guess it’ll be part of our meeting next time,” He smiles a little. "How did you manage to survive in your house?" He asks with worry.
"I had a tense moment with my father, but…” I shake my head. "That doesn't matter anymore.”
"Percy, you know you won’t be fine if you don't tell me how you feel, we promised that we would be honest." I rub my neck.
"Second topic for the meeting?”
He nods. I examine my friend in detail, his eyes show tiredness, he also has dark circles. It won't be long before the full moon. "Do you think this time we can talk about your little furry problem every full moon?" Remus quirks up at that.
"N-no, I don't think it is.”
"Oh come on, you know every ridiculous story from my sad life, how about an exchange of misfortunes?" I try to joke around so he doesn't feel so pressured. I already knew about his lycanthropy, but I don't have all the details. When I mentioned it, Remus almost freaked out.
“All right," He finally says.
“You shouldn't be that close to snakes, Lunatic. Especially that one, it's poisonous,” I roll my eyes when I hear that stupid voice. We both turn to meet James and Sirius.
"Behave yourself, Prongs,” James holds up his hands.
"I'm just telling the truth– Right, Padfoot?" I look at Sirius, but he isn't listening to his friend, instead he stares at my neck. "Paddie?"
Sirius shakes his head.
“What?”
“Dude, we haven't even had classes yet and you're already distracted, why are you staring at her like that? I don't think there’s much to look at.”
My cheeks flush and I fold my arms over my chest.
“Idiot."
He laughs.
"James!" Remus scolds him.
"That necklace is new, Singh. Any admirer?” Sirius refuses to play along with his friend.
I touch the necklace distractedly.
"I don't think so…” I reply simply.
"Are you okay, Sirius?" Remus asks. The boy just nods.
"P!" Jenna comes to us and practically tackles me. “Hello, Marauders. I'm sorry to interrupt, but I need to kidnap this beautiful lady.”
"I see that everything is forgiven,” says Remus with a smile and we both nod.
Jenna doesn't wait and takes my hand, she guides me through the corridors of the school until we reach the gardens, Lily Evans’ group is sitting in a circle.
“Ah, Jenna…” I release her hand and stop.
"What's going on?"
"What are you planning? I can't go to them,” I say nervously.
"Don't be silly! I just want to do something, they won't do anything to you.”
“I don’t belong in that your group, Jenna," She sighs and comes closer.
“Honey," She takes my face in her hands. "They won’t despise you, I promise.”
"But I’ve done it! For a long time, I made fun of each one of them, I can’t do it!”
"You know? I'm surprised by this new attitude, P. What happened to the confident girl who wouldn't be trampled on by anyone?” I bite my lower lip.
“She's no longer here, she should never have existed," She stops touching my face.
"No, Persephone. The girl who discriminated against others and hurt them is no longer here. She’s widely different from the one who always walks with her head held high. Honey, I've seen you stand up in front of everyone's criticism, don't let that disappear.”
I almost want to cry. Almost, but she's right.
"It's hard to see the difference," She smiles.
“But that's what you have me for, sweetie. We'll do it together, like always.” I can't believe how close I came to losing her. "Listen, if you feel uncomfortable, we can go. I just want to do something, okay?” She takes my hand again.
When we finally arrive the conversation between them dies. They all smile at Jenna and they stare at me.
Marlene gets up and hugs Jenna. I smile, pulling back a little.
"I missed you so much, love," says Marlene fondly.
"I did too. My family’s so boring, your letters were my salvation!” When they break apart, Jenna moves away a little and smiles at me. “Mar, I want to officially introduce you to my best friend, Persephone. P, she is my girlfriend, Marlene…” The girl miles shyly at me.
“It’s… good to see you Marlene. I mean, all of you–” I point out, “Yes, it's good to see you all together again as always... it's not that you can't be apart– Well, I’ve only seen Lily alone, but you’re always in a group, not that it’s wrong, you are friends, that’s what friends do…” I stop speaking when I listen to their laughter.
Jenna puts her arm around my shoulders.
"Forgive her, she talks a lot when she's nervous.”
I rub the back of my neck.
"You don't have to be, Persephone," says Lily.
Jenna and I sat on the grass in front of them. Jenna and Marlene hold hands and share a knowing look. The conversation continues, but I don’t understand the topic well enough, from time to time I observe in detail the interaction between the couple. Some whispers in the ear, sweet giggles, kisses on the cheek or lips…
"They're adorable." Lily interrupts my thoughts, turning to them.
“Yeah.”
"It makes you think… You want something like that, don’t you?" I frown.
"I guess…” I smile at the thought. Actually, she's right, it’d be a... good thing, to have something like that.
"But it's hard to find it," She sighs and I laugh. "What?"
"I know someone who’s willing to have something like that with you,” At first Lily frowns, but then she understands.
“Oh, please, not in a million years," She squeals, making me laugh. "It's not fun!"
"Yes it is! Potter would give anything to have five minutes of your attention, imagine what he’d do to be your boyfriend!”
"That will never happen!”
"Yeah right, can I be your bridesmaid?" She hits my shoulder and I can’t stop laughing.
"Very funny, isn't it? What about your love life?”
"Simple, it doesn't exist," She raises a brow.
"I bet you and Sirius would make a nice couple…”
"Stop there, redhead. There’s a difference between James and Sirius– James would leave anyone to be with you, and Sirius can’t stop being a womanizer. I'm sure he’ll end alone.”
Saying those words, I can't help but feel a knot in my stomach, but I ignore it.
"That only affirms my theory, Singh,” She smirks. I look at her confused. "If Sirius leaves all those girls, you think you’d be something?"
I shake my head repeatedly.
"No- I don’t- He doesn’t- Agh!" I groan, making her laugh. "It won't happen.” I sentence with a growl
"I find many errors in your theory, Persephone."
"I don’t," I shrug.
Later, the group begins another conversation, with names that I didn’t recognize, in situations that I never knew happened.
I know that my presence causes them some discomfort, especially with Alice, and sometimes Lily doesn’t know if she should mention something in front of me, at no time I take part in the gossip, but I don’t care about it much. Surely, I’d act the same, or even worse. I don't blame them, but all of this helps me relax a little and makes forget about my family.
The next day, classes continue smoothly. Some tests have already been answered, but there’s still some tension between the students. Without realizing it, several weeks had passed without any drama.
"You look… less worse."
"Thanks, Reg, you always know what to say," I say as I toss him a piece of apple. He laughs, shaking his head.
“You’re relaxed, that's good. What about the nightmares?”
“They keep coming, but now I can sleep. I guess at Hogwarts I feel safer knowing that my father can't harm me here.”
Regulus grimaces, nodding.
"The picnic was a good idea when everyone is at the Quidditch match," He offers, eating a grape.
The gardens are just for us, I wanted a moment of silence with my best friend.
"I always have good ideas,” We laugh. "Come on, I bet you can catch this grape with your mouth," he groans, but agrees to try.
"You suck at this game. Always.”
"Shut up, I need to focus,” He rolls his eyes and opens his mouth.
The first attempt fails. And the second. And third. After his turn, I only manage to catch one.
"That's cheating," He complains.
"How could it be cheating? You threw it,” I scoff.
"You throw the grapes very high, the last one almost hit me in the eye!"
"That's because you don't have good reflexes, idiot.”
"So?" A piece of apple hits my forehead and we start a food war. "Now that’s enough! Don't waste anymore food, Singh.”
I laugh and pick up the remains.
"Hey, the other day I heard a little rumor about you,” I raised my eyebrows suggestively.
"What thing?"
"Oh nothing, they just mentioned a certain Amelia Potts…” He groans dramatically and I giggle.
"I just helped her with her story assignment and suddenly I'm dating her?"
"You don’t like her?"
"It's not that. She’s beautiful and good– Pureblood, it's just that... I'm sick of everyone wanting to pair me up with everyone.”
"I understand,” We’re silent for a few minutes, then he gets up.
"It's horrible how something’s always expected of you, especially when even you don't know what you're capable of…” His words surprise me, but I don’t know what to reply.
"We should run away, Persephone.”
"What?" I look at him with an amused expression.
“As soon as school ends and you’re no longer tied to that ridiculous wedding and I don't have any family responsibilities. Let’s just run away and don't look back–”
"Did the food hurt yout head?"
"Think about it!” He ignores my question. "Life without worries, without fear of anyone, just travel, no parents, no school, no work, nothing to stop us!" He says, almost shouting the last.
I laugh and get up to face him.
“That'd be great. Where would we go?" He smiles.
“Wherever! Greece, Ireland, India, we can go to America, wherever we want!" He raises his arms.
“Oh! We could do whatever, eat whatever, wear anything, dance on the beach!”
"Yes!" And as if we were connected, we start dancing –or that was the intention, at one point it’s just meaningless jumps, no music, just our laughter with zero cares about the world.
This is unusual for Regulus, but I wouldn’t complain about this attitude in a million years. I love it when he’s not serious and prefers to have fun with me. Time and our parents have not taken these moments away.

scene bucket #5(?)
marion: why do we never get percy with feeling
feelings*
like
kristin: ?
marion: this kid has problems
and
we never talk about them at all canonically
kristin: yeah, idk
like there are (that i know of) two instances of ptsd
in the entire series
which, okay, kids book, but still
he's like seventeen (and so are the rest of them)
they've seen who knows how many deaths. like...
marion: isn't it a YA book tho?
kristin: yeah
but
i think it was targeted to like 13/14?
idk...
marion: harry potter has death plots and people bleeding out and george being rightfully upset about fred
but like
pjo is just yes we have problems in the subtext
kristin: that is one thing i missed.
that i want.
(which probably makes me horrible, idk)
marion: no i kind of want it too
kristin: xD
are we bad people?
marion: no
i think we just want someone to finally be sad
kristin: yeah
marion: bc these kids are like
always happy
bar leo who canonically is depressed but they NEVER SAY IT
kristin: right
like, for example, i feel like with all those deaths (especially, for example, like Bianca and Beckendorf) and with Percys fatal flaw
he'd really beat himself up
like, more so than in the books.
and like Hazel literally was in the underworld.
and even though she was in the fields of asphodel. i feel like that would mess someone up.
marion: hazel faced discrimination
uhM
kristin: eurgh
i've always wanted to explore that, tbh
like, i have this thing that when she finally comes back, she asks Nico where a bathroom is, and he shows her
and she's like "that's not funny"
because there's different colored people in  there, too
marion: oh
that's
that's kind of depressing
kristin: oof.
sorry.
idk, its just how i always imagined it going down.
marion: no no you're right
im just
kind of sad
that that would happen
kristin: yeah, ik
marion: to cinnamon roll hazel
kristin: (literally one of my favorite characters)
marion: *sob* i cant deal with this
:'(
this genuinely makes me want to cry
i dont-
how????
kristin: you imagine how hard it would be for her to have to adjust to like having a brother
that was
eurgh
sorru
*sorry
( i don't know if the term white is offensive or not)
marion: nah
kristin: okay, okay just checking
marion: poor cinnamon roll
kristin: D:
marion: i want to hug her and never let go
kristin: sammee
marion: ndfowendonwefon hazel is best
kristin: ikr
marion: hazel deserves best
kristin: yes
like she had to watch her mom die
in front of her
and she thought it was her fault
marion: hazel has angst, percy has angst, leo has angst
like her fatal flaw is guILT
angst budddiees
marion: :[
the angst trio
they cry themselves to sleep and pretend they're ok!
kristin: stOP
that's soo sad.
marion: everyone tries and subsequently fails to get them to talk about their problems
kristin: yeah, ik.
and they're just like, i'm fine.
Stop! Get some help!
marion: we're fine *sobbing*
kristin: through their tears
like, the rest of the seven can hear them crying through the thin walls of the Argo but nobody says anything
marion: *whispers* trauma? never heard of her
kristin: whose she?
honestly, though, like *sighs* it's so sad
marion: hahahaha...
kristin: haha.
*sighs*
like, the fates or whatever terrible being is in charge, just throw these kids and a satyr
on a flying boat
to destroy the earth
in order to save it

Flying halfway across the world by yourself to answer Annabeth’s plea, because you knew it was our best chance for peace? That’s pretty freaking heroic.’ Reyna shrugged. ‘Says the demigod who fell into Tartarus and found his way back.’ ‘He had help,’ Annabeth said. ‘Oh, obviously,’ Reyna said. ‘Without you, I doubt Percy could find his way out of a paper bag.’ ‘True,’ Annabeth agreed. ‘Hey!’ Percy complained. The others started laughing, but Percy didn’t mind. It felt good to see them smile. Heck, just being in the mortal world felt good, breathing un-poisonous air, enjoying actual sunshine on his back. Suddenly he thought of Bob. Tell the sun and stars hello for me. Percy’s smile melted. Bob and Damasen had sacrificed their lives so that Percy and Annabeth could sit here now, enjoying the sunlight and laughing with their friends. It wasn’t fair. ""

"‘You still claim him then?’ Zeus asked menacingly. ‘You claim this child whom you sired against our sacred oath?’ ‘I have admitted my wrongdoing,’ Poseidon said. ‘Now I would hear him speak.’ Wrongdoing. A lump welled up in my throat. Was that all I was? A wrongdoing? The result of a god’s mistake? "
Exhibit B
" ‘Your mother is a queen among women,’ Poseidon said wistfully. ‘I had not met such a mortal woman in a thousand years. Still… I am sorry you were born, child. I have brought you a hero’s fate, and a hero’s fate is never happy. It is never anything but tragic.’ I tried not to feel hurt. Here was my own dad, telling me he was sorry I’d been born. ‘I don’t mind, Father.’ ‘Not yet, perhaps,’ he said. ‘Not yet. But it was an unforgivable mistake on my part.’"
marion: ah and then the mr.brunner incident

Year 1: Ch. 1
September 1
Colleen woke up with excitement going through her veins. She and Ron would be heading off to Hogwarts that morning to begin first year. Percy would be starting his fifth year, and Fred and George would be starting their third year. Ginny hadn’t gotten her letter yet, so she couldn’t come with them just yet.
It was quite early in the morning for Colleen to be up, but she just couldn’t go back to sleep. She could smell breakfast from downstairs her mother always cooked, but Molly didn’t wake her children until it was time to eat before getting ready for the day. Until then, Colleen decided to practice some spells with her wand.
Her very own wand. Not a hand-me-down like her brothers always ended up getting until their father could afford to get them their own wand. The Weasleys had always been frugal with money, even though they didn’t have a lot. Arthur had a good job at the Ministry of Magic, but with eight children some things had to be made to last such as wands, robes, and school books all in order to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. All of the boys had been handed down each other’s items in terms of school robes and supplies, but when it came to the girls Colleen would be given new things so she could pass them down to Ginny when it was her time to attend. Arthur and Molly had managed to save up just enough to purchase everything their children needed for the new school year. Well, almost everything. Ron would be given a few hand-me-downs from Bill, and the twins would be given some of Percy’s old books; but Colleen would be given everything brand new.
Arthur had walked into Ollivander’s with his eldest daughter to find her wand.
“The wand chooses the witch or wizard,” the wandmaker had told her. After two failed attempts at wands, Colleen had received her wand: cherry wood, a dragon heartstring core, 9 inches long, and a diamond was at the end of the handle. It was extremely rare for a witch or wizard to have gems in their wands, but Mr. Ollivander told her that she must have something very special about her to have such a wand.
Colleen wasn’t one to boast or brag about anything; she just thought how pretty the sunlight bounced off the diamond’s edges was.
To say the boys sometimes thought that their sisters were spoiled was an understatement. They loved them very much, but they did sometimes feel as if they were left out of the picture. Molly and Arthur loved their children equally, and they often had to remind them of that.
While Ginny was still asleep in her bed, Colleen did her best not to wake her up as she sneaked out of their shared bedroom and into the bathroom with her wand and Charms book in hand. In the cupboard above the sink, she pulled out her box of metal scraps and small pebbles to practice with. She had passed by a jeweler once in Diagon Alley, and the shopkeeper had made everything out of old metal parts using Transfiguration and Charms spells. She had made quite a wealthy living from it and was able to start making fashion and robes from scrap fabric or old robes no one wanted. This inspired Colleen to hatch an idea: she wanted to succeed at Hogwarts, but she wanted to use her magic to help her family and others around her. She decided she was going to collect whatever scrap or items in nature she could and practice making jewelry with them. Once she had mastered it, she would sell them, and some of the money would go to her parents.
She sat down on the floor, placed a few metal parts and her book in front of her and flipped to a page with the easiest spell: a ring making charm.
“Anulusum,” she chanted as she pointed her wand at a piece of metal.
Immediately, it began to lengthen and weave around itself into a circular object until it looked identical to her mother’s wedding ring without the diamond. Colleen picked it up and examined her new creation.
“Wicked,” she whispered.
“Colleen,” her mother’s voice rang from the door. “Are you in there, darling?”
“Yes, mum,” she replied as she quickly gathered her project.
“I just came up to tell you that breakfast was ready. Get dressed and join your siblings downstairs.”
“I’m coming.” Colleen placed the box back into the cupboard as she heard her mother’s footsteps creak away.
Once she felt the hallway was clear, Colleen crept out of the bathroom and quickly tiptoed to her and Ginny’s bedroom. Her sister was already out of bed putting on a light jacket.
“Why do you have your wand?” Ginny asked. “Were you doing magic again?”
“I was practicing,” Colleen excused as she set her wand on her nightstand. She went to her dresser and pulled out a pink jumper and a brown skirt to wear for the train-ride to Hogwarts. “Besides, I want to do well at Hogwarts. Mum and Dad always encourage us to do our very best in whatever we do.”
“But Mummy is always telling us not to use magic outside of school,” Ginny replied as she slipped on her Mary Janes.
“I haven’t even started school yet, Ginny,” the older girl argued. “That rule only applies to Fred, George, and Percy.”
Ginny just shrugged and made her downstairs as Colleen finished getting dressed.
-
“King’s Cross is always packed with Muggles, of course,” Molly grumbled as the six of her eight children followed briskly behind her, pushing their trunks as they strolled.
Colleen almost had to run as she pushed her trunk due to her small stature. She was taller than her baby sister, but she was shorter than her brothers. The twins would often make height jokes, but she got used to them over time.
The group stopped at platforms nine and ten, allowing Colleen to catch her breath.
“Now, what’s the platform number?” Molly asked them as Ginny was clinging to her.
“Nine and three-quarters!” Ginny piped up. “Mum, can’t I go…”
“You’re not old enough, Ginny, now be quiet. All right, Percy, you go first.”
Percy turned his trunk towards the dividing barrier between the platforms and ran while pushing his trunk, disappearing to the other side of it.
“Fred, you next,” Molly said.
“I’m not Fred, I’m George,” one of the twins said. “Honestly, woman, you call yourself our? Can’t you tellI’m George?”
“Sorry, George, dear.”
“Only joking, I am Fred,” he chuckled. Fred ran towards the divide, his twin following suit, and disappeared.
Ron and Colleen lined up take their turn, but were interrupted by another boy and girl their age. They both had trunks and owls with them. The boy had unkempt black hair, round glasses, and green eyes; and the girl was pale-skinned with grey eyes and wild, dark curls. She gave off a shy aura, but Colleen figured it was just first day nervousness.
“Excuse me,” the boy said.
“Hello, dears,” Molly smiled at them. “First time to Hogwarts? Ron and Colleen are new, too.”
The siblings smiled at the other two children.
“Yes,” the boy said. “The thing is-the thing is, I don’t know how to-“
“How to get on the platform?” she asked, and the children nodded. “Not to worry. All you have to do is walk straight at the barrier between platforms nine and ten. Don’t stop and don’t be scared you’ll crash into it, that’s very important. Best do it at a bit of a run if you’re nervous. Go on, go now before Ron and Colleen.”
“Er-okay,” the boy replied.
After he disappeared behind the divide, Ron and Colleen were last. Ron was first, and she was close behind him. She panicked for a little bit as she got closer to the wall, but the next time she blinked she had made it to the other side.
The platform was crowded with incoming first years swarming around to get their things on the train, and returning students doing the same thing but in a more routine fashion. Cats were weaving in and out of other people’s legs, and owls in cages were hooting and screeching. Some children were already on the train and waving good-bye to their families.
Once Ron and Colleen had boarded the train, their trunks were tucked away in the compartment.
“Fred? George? Are you there?” their mother’s voice called out.
“Coming, Mum,” one of the twins replied.
The Weasley children hopped back onto the platform to tell their mum and sister goodbye before jumping back on again. Molly pulled out a handkerchief.
“Ron, you’ve got something on your nose,” she pointed out as she tried to wipe her son’s face.
Ron attempted to pull away. “Mum-geroff.”
“Aaah, has ickle Ronnie got somefink on his nosie?” one of the twins teased.
“Shut up.”
“Where’s Percy?” Molly asked.
“He’s coming now.”
Percy walked towards them, already dressed in his new robes with letter P badge stuck on him. “Can’t stay long, mother,” he said. “I’m up front, the prefects have got two compartments to themselves-“
“Oh, are you a prefect, Percy?” Fred asked sarcastically. “You should have said something, we had no idea,”
“Hang on, I think I remember him saying something about it,” said George. “Once-“
“Or twice-“
“A minute-“
“All summer-“
“Oh, shut up,” the older brother rolled his eyes.
“How come Percy gets new robes anyway?” George asked. “I thought Colleen was the only one getting new things.”
“Because he’s a prefect,” Molly stated firmly. “All right, dear, well, have a good term – send me an owl when you get there.”
She pecked Percy’s cheek before he left for the prefects’ compartment, then she turned to her twins.
“Now, you two – this year, you behave yourselves. If I get one more owl telling me you’ve blown up a toilet or-“
“Blown up a toilet?” George repeated. “We’ve never blown up a toilet.”
“Great idea though,” Fred smiled, “thanks, Mum.”
“It’s not funny,” their mother snapped. “And look after Ron and Colleen.”
“Don’t worry, ickle Ronniekins and Colliewollie are safe with us.”
“Shut up,” Ron said.
Molly took Colleen’s face in her hands and kissed her forehead. “You write everything that happens on your first night there. Promise?”
“Yes, Mum,” Colleen nodded.
“That’s my Colleen.”
Colleen then hugged her sister and said, “Keep an eye on the thimblewacks for me?”
Ginny nodded.
“Hey, Mum, guess what?” Fred spoke again. “Guess who we just met on the train? You know that black-haired boy who near us in the station and the curly-haired girl that was with him? Know who he is?”
“Who?”
“Harry Potter!”
Ginny’s eyes lit up. “Oh, Mum, can I go on the train and see him, Mum,” she begged, “oh, please…”
“You’ve already seen him, Ginny,” Molly replied, “and the poor boy isn’t something you goggle at in a zoo. Is he really, Fred? How do you know?”
“Asked him,” Fred replied. “Saw his scar. It’s really there – like lightening.”
“Poor dear – no wonder he and that girl were alone, I wondered. He was ever o polite when they asked how to get onto the platform.”
“Never mind that, do you think he remembers what You-Know-Who looks like?”
Molly then became stern. “I forbid you to ask him, Fred. No, don’t you dare. As though he needs reminding of that on his first day on school.”
“All right, keep your hair on.”
The train whistle blew.
“Hurry up!” Molly shooed, and the siblings scrambled on the train with Colleen nearly tripping. Ginny began to cry.
“Don’t cry, Ginny, we’ll send you loads of owls,” Colleen promised.
“We’ll send you a Hogwarts toilet seat,” George joked.
“George!” Molly screeched.
“Only joking, Mum.”

"You've already seen him, Ginny," Molly replied, "and the poor boy isn't something you goggle at in a zoo. Is he really, Fred? How do you know?"
"Asked him," Fred replied. "Saw his scar. It's really there – like lightning."
"Poor dear – no wonder he and that girl were alone, I wondered. He was ever so polite when they asked how to get onto the platform."
"Never mind that, do you think he remembers what You-Know-Who looks like?"
Molly then became stern. "I forbid you to ask him, Fred. No, don't you dare. As though he needs reminding of that on his first day on school."
"All right, keep your hair on."
The train whistle blew.
"Hurry up!" Molly shooed, and the siblings scrambled on the train with Colleen nearly tripping. Ginny began to cry.
"Don't cry, Ginny, we'll send you loads of owls," Colleen promised.
"We'll send you a Hogwarts toilet seat," George joked.
"George!" Molly screeched.
"Only joking, Mum."

Percy Jackson, The Avenger
Summary: Percy has an encounter with Nick Fury. A year later, he’s being called on to help protect the world… again. He’s not alone in this Avengers Initiative. A genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist; a super soldier; a green scientist; a Norse god; and two secret agents. What could go wrong?

6 – The Shaquille O’Neal of Lying
There were certain things Percy could live without. Quests, over-arrogant and dramatic gods and goddesses, pranks from the Hermes cabin that left him covered in peanut butter and harpy feathers... but the one thing Percy probably hated most was demigod dreams.
As soon as Percy had fallen asleep, he found himself in the last place he wanted to be—Loki’s cell. The green glass prison formed around the son of Poseidon. Across the cell from where Percy stood, Loki was sitting on the small cot. He was staring at the camera that the others had watched him from earlier.
Loki finally shifted his gaze from the camera to Percy. “What a pleasant surprise,” he said in a tone that made Percy know that this wasn’t pleasant nor a surprise. Loki spread his arms wide, gesturing to the small cell around them. “Welcome.”
Percy crossed his arms in front of him. All of a sudden, he was glad that he had fallen asleep in his clothes, instead of standing in front of Loki in his PJs. “What do you want, Loki?”
“I want to offer you a proposal.”
“Uh, sorry, but I already have a girlfriend.”
“A business proposal,” Loki stressed. “I know you want to avoid this upcoming fight. You’re not prepared. You haven’t practiced or so much as swung a sword in three years. You’re hopelessly outmatched for what’s coming. But, if you agree to work with me, then you won’t have anything to worry.”
Percy remained unmoved. “I assume this proposal isn’t free.”
“Listen carefully, for I will only offer this once,” Loki stated. “If you agree to work with me, you will lend me your forces, your armies, then I will make you powerful. You can have mortals kneeling at your feet, and all you have to do is give me command of Olympus’ armies. Together, we could control those pathetic mortals.”
The son of Poseidon remained silent for a couple seconds. His hands drifted down towards his pockets. Percy curled his hand around Riptide, ready to pull his sword out in case things went south. “I think you’re forgetting what I am. Sure, I’m the son of Poseidon, god of the sea and earthquakes, but I’m also the son of Sally Jackson. Half human, half god. You, on the other hand, are a mixture of vegetables and Ares’ sweat—nothing but plain nastiness.”
Loki’s smug smile melted away as he sneered. “You’re a fool. Letting unlimited power go for what? A family that has used you as a pawn before? For a world that would shun you if they knew what you truly were?” Percy’s hands tightened into a fist as Loki kept talking. “Join me, Perseus. Together, we can show those mortals what real power is.”
“I’d rather die protecting my family than live knowing I betrayed them.”
Loki rushed him. Percy pulled out Riptide and held the sharp blade carefully against Loki’s neck. The Norse god froze. Loki carefully eyed the blade, before raising his hands. He gave a small laugh. “Fine. When the Chitauri come, you’ll fail, and you’ll realize that you should’ve accepted my offer while you had the chance. You will die knowing that you had the chance to save yourself but threw it away.”
The edges of Percy’s vision started fading, the green cell disappearing. Just before Percy’s dream took him elsewhere, he whispered, “Go to Tartarus.”
Loki’s face disappeared and suddenly he found himself in a different place.
Space, to be exact.
A gasp escaped Percy’s mouth as he floated around. Living in Manhattan, Percy had never seen many stars. Instead, city lights lit up the night. There had been a couple times when he’d gotten the chance to get out of the city and see the stars, but none of those times could ever compete with what he was seeing now.
Hundreds upon thousands of stars surrounded Percy, larger and brighter than he had ever seen. Percy was struck by the beauty of it all. He couldn’t help but think of Bob, the titan who sacrificed himself to help Annabeth and him escape Tartarus. Bob, whose last request was to say hello to the stars.
A loud roar came from behind him. It took the demigod a couple seconds to turn around—having to move like he was swimming without water—before he could see the cause of the noise. High above him was a large spaceship, something straight out of Star Wars. Flying in and out of the ship were the equivalent of alien whales. Huge, swimming, aliens that vaguely resembled whales. In space. Oh gods.
One of the space whales let a big roar or scream. A sick feeling settled in Percy’s—not like the time he had gotten on the Cyclone after eating one too many hotdogs despite Annabeth’s warnings (that hadn’t been a pleasant experience for either of them, nor the dude that sat in front of them). That was a different sick from what Percy was feeling now. His neck was tingling, and his stomach was twisting in knots. These had to be the Chitauri that Thor had mentioned. The thought of having these creatures invade Earth, his home, didn’t sit well with the Greek demigod. Loki had to be stopped.
The dream changed again, and Percy finally found himself in a place he recognized; a large loft overlooking half of Manhattan, paint supplies scattered around on the coffee table, and a big mural on one wall that featured the cabins of Camp Half-Blood. He was in Rachel Dare’s apartment.
Rachel herself was sitting on one of the leather couches, probably an old gift from her father when she had first moved into the loft. A sketchbook sat in her lap. Percy could sense that she was frustrated with something, most likely with the picture not coming out right. The demigod had seen some of her art blocks before and they were never fun to be around.
Percy wondered if she was working on a piece for college or for one of her clients. The demigod could still remember the big fight that had occurred between Rachel and her father that had led to her taking on clients to help pay for her college after her father dropped the pay. In the months that had followed, Rachel had made a decent amount of money. Percy had seen the amount some people paid for a small painting, and it made him wish he knew how to draw past stick figures.
Out of nowhere, Rachel jerked up. Percy reached out for her when he noticed that her eyes had turned green. The son of Poseidon reeled back a little, watching as green mist started swirling around them. Rachel’s mouth opened and the haunting voice that belonged to the oracle started speaking.
It comes from day as dark as night,
After evil's rule, the final fight,
They're gone, they're broke, they come together,
Charged to protect, earthly tether,
Rolling Stone, purple reign,
All must end in blazing pain.
As soon as the prophecy was done, the green glow surrounding Rachel faded and she started swaying. Percy rushed forward to help her, but she fell safely back into her couch. Her sketchbook fell off her lap and onto the floor, landing upwards and revealing what had been plaguing Rachel.
The sketch showed a tall building that Percy didn’t completely recognize, but he would know the surrounding skyline of New York anywhere. High above the city, in the sky, was a huge hole where Percy recognized the Chitauri flooding though. Just as his blood turned to ice, the dream started fading away, pulling him back to the real world.
Percy shot up in his bed, heart racing. He scrambled out of bed, reaching for a golden drachma and heading into the bathroom to make an IM. Percy turned on the shower and let the water flow through the light. He tossed the drachma through the water, asking Fleecy to patch him through to Rachel’s home.
Rachel’s distressed face appeared a moment later. “Percy!” She cried. “Why are you—”
”I had a dream about you last night.” Percy interrupted Rachel, cutting her off. She frowned.
“Please tell meet wasn’t one of those sexy kinds of—”
“No!” Percy shouted. “No, not that kind of dream. Although I’m not sure this is much better.”
“Percy, anything is better than you cheating on Annabeth.”
“You gave a prophecy.”
Rachel’s face turned serious. “What about?”
“I think it’s about the upcoming battle with Loki.” He paused. “I also saw the sketch you drew.”
“I was actually just about to call Chiron. Show him the sketch.” She turned around to pick up her sketchbook. “I just drew this last night. It wasn’t until this morning that I recognized the building.” Rachael held up the sketch. “That’s STARK Tower. I don’t know what those things are, but it’s obviously not good. What was the prophecy?”
Percy recited the prophecy. Rachel wrote it down in the corner of the sketch, like an artist’s signature. When Percy was finished, she sat there for a moment silent. “Blazing pain? They’re broke? This doesn’t sound like a typical prophecy.”
“What are you thinking?”
Rachel frowned. “I’m not sure. I might talk it over with Ella, see if there’s anything similar to this. Something I don’t understand, ‘the final fight’? What do you think that means?”
“I don’t know.” Percy shrugged. “Most times, the meaning isn’t clear until it’s happened. The only line I’m worried about is the last one.”
“I can see why. Make sure to stay away from any fire that might cause blazing pain.” Rachel sighed. “I’m going to call Ella, compare some thoughts, ideas.”
“Got it.” Percy gave her a wave. “See you later.”
“Later,” Rachel said before waving through the rainbow, leaving Percy standing alone in the bathroom. His mind wandered to his dream conversation with Loki, and the sick feeling he’d felt earlier returned as he came to the conclusion that prophecies were worse than dreams.
\~*~/
Percy didn’t know if he was allowed in any part of the ship that wasn’t the main area and his own room, not even one of the small supply closets in the halls. Fury didn’t seem to be the sharing type. That didn’t stop the demigod from wandering the huge ship.
After talking with Rachel, Percy had found the urge to escape the confines of his room. He started walking through the vast halls, trying to let go of his thoughts for a little while. It wasn’t too long in that he’d gotten lost. Percy was sure that he’d passed the same section of doors three times now.
“Mr. Jackson.”
Fury stalked towards Percy, clearly angry and annoyed with the demigod.
“Hey Pirate,” Percy gave him a wave. “Just checking out your man-o-war. Got a bit lost. Do you have maps to hand out?”
The director sighed. “Cut the pirate lingo and come with me.”
“Aye.”
Fury didn’t even bother with a glare at Percy’s remark. Percy followed Fury through the halls as the director led him past the residential hall and the main area and eventually into a conference room, complete with a fake plant in an attempt to try and make the room look cozier.
“What’s happening?” Percy asked.
“Please take a seat, Mr. Jackson.” Fury pulled out a chair and took a seat, gesturing to one of the empty chairs around the long table. “I just have a couple questions I’d like to ask you.”
“What kind of questions?”
“SHIELD does their homework, and we do it well. But even we can’t figure out everything sometimes. We just want a little help to make sense of some things.”
Percy hesitated a second before he pulled a chair out. “What do you want to know?”
“We’ll start easy. What’s the extent of your training?”
The son of Poseidon shifted in his seat. “Uh, I can fight with a sword?” It came out more of a question, unsure if that was what Fury was looking for. “I started when I was twelve. Um, I have control over water.”
“What all can do you with water?” Fury interrupted. “I know your father is Poseidon, but just how does that work? Do you have hydrokinesis?”
“Yeah,” Percy nodded. “I can also breathe underwater and even talk to sea animals. Horses too.”
Fury frowned slightly. “Horses?”
“My dad created them out of sea foam to try and win and be the patron god of Athens. But then Athena went and invented olives and for some reason they liked that better.”
“Mr. Jackson—”
“Just call me Percy.” The demigod told the director. “My father isn’t Mr. Jackson but hearing that just sounds weird.”
“Okay, Percy, I’m curious. This is the second time I’ve seen you wear that shirt.” He pointed at Percy’s CAMP HALF-BLOOD t-shirt. “What is Camp Half-Blood?”
Percy suddenly felt uncomfortable sitting in his chair. “Nothing really. Just a camp that I’ve gone to.”
Fury leaned forward, resting his arms on the table. “Percy, I’m interested in helping everyone, keeping the world safe and protected. I need you to tell me the truth. If you want, you don’t have to answer, but if Camp Half-Blood provides a danger to anyone, I need to know.”
“No one at Camp is a danger,” Percy assured. “It’s just a safe haven for demigods; a place for them to train and not have to worry about monsters hunting them down. If you’re worried about us trying to take over the mortal world or something, don’t.”
“Okay,” Fury leaned back but kept his hands on the table. “Okay. I just want to make sure. Can we continue?” At Percy’s nod, he asked, “What are the locations to the entrances of the underworld?”
“I’m sorry?” Percy said. “You want to know what now?”
“You heard me.”
“Pass.”
Fury sighed. “Fine. I suppose you won’t tell me the location of Olympus either?”
“Gods no, Percy snorted. “I may not be the brightest, but I don’t want a death wish. My uncle would gladly kill me before that ever happened.”
“Just needed to ask.” Fury told Percy. “As I said before, you don’t have to answer questions you don’t want to. But,” he added. “it would be better for all of us if you were more forthcoming.
“One more question and I request that you answer this one, please.” Fury said, throwing in the please as an afterthought. “Is there anything that might warrant watching? Any threats?”
Percy thought for a second. There were several things he could mention, monsters for starters, but those weren’t the big problems. “Watch out for titans and giants. Most of them are still in Tartarus, the monster prison,” Percy explained. “but they just reform and come back. I don’t know how soon they would though after the wars.”
“What wars?”
Percy opened his mouth to start explaining about the war against Kronos and the one with Gaea, but a loud beeping noise stopped him. Fury seemed to tense as he pulled a phone out of his pocket. With a quick glance, he scowled. “Stark,” the director muttered with distaste before leaving the room.
Jumping up to join him, Percy followed Fury through the halls and into a lab were Tony and Bruce were sitting. Fury stormed into the room, Percy following just a couple steps behind. Tony and Bruce looked up as they entered. Fury stood in front of Tony who seemed to be watching a computer intently and not looking at Fury. “What are you doing, Mr. Stark?” The director asked.
“Uh...kind of been wondering the same thing about you.” Tony rebutted.
“You're supposed to be locating the Tesseract.”
“We are,” Bruce interjected. “The model's locked and we're sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we'll have the location within half a mile.”
“And you'll get your cube back, no muss, no fuss,” Tony promised. Percy watched the billionaire frown as the computer beeped. “What is PHASE 2?”
There was a loud thud behind Percy. Steve had set down a large gun on the table, looking pissed. “PHASE 2 is SHIELD uses the cube to make weapons. Sorry, the computer was moving a little slow.”
Fury turned towards the captain. “Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we're...”
“I’m sorry, Nick.” Tony interrupted Fury, turning the computer around to show what seemed to be plans on building weapons. “What, were you lying?”
“And earlier you told me you wanted to help people.” Percy scoffed.
Right at that moment, Thor and Natasha walked into the lab. Banner turned to Natasha. “Did you know about this?”
“You wanna think about removing yourself from this environment, doctor?”
“I was in Calcutta; I was pretty well removed.”
“Loki's manipulating you,” Natasha told him.
“And you've been doing what exactly?”
“You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you.”
“Yes, and I'm not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy.” Banner grabbed the computer and pointed to the weapon on the screen. “I'd like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction.”
“Because of them.” Fury pointed at Thor and Percy. Percy’s eyebrows raised in shock.
“Wait, what?” Percy asked at the same time Thor asked, “Me?”
Fury sighed. “Last year, not only did earth have a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town, but also learned about the existence of immortal gods whose affairs have started countless wars since forever. We learned that, not only are we alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned.”
“My people want nothing but peace with your planet,” Thor said.
Percy stepped forward. “Mortals have gone for centuries without knowing about the existence of the Greek gods living among you and you’ve been fine. We take care of our problems.”
“But you're not the only people out there, are you? And, you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, they can't be controlled.”
“Like you controlled the cube?” Steve asked, clearly not believing Fury.
“Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies,” Thor informed Fury. “It is the signal to all the realms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war.”
Steve frowned. “A higher form?”
“You forced our hand. We had to come up with something.” Fury tried to explain, but by that time it had all descended into chaos.
Tony argued, “Nuclear deterrent. Cause that always calms everything right down.”
“Remind me again how you made your fortune, Stark?”
“I’m sure if he still made—” Steve started saying before he was interrupted by Tony.
“—Wait! Wait! Hold on! How is—”
“—weapons, Stark would be neck—”
“—this now about me?”
“—deep… I’m sorry, isn’t everything?”
“I thought humans were more evolved than this,” Thor commented.
Percy whirled on Thor. “Oh, I’m sorry, but out of all of us, who’s the one blowing up other planets?
“Did you always give your champions such mistrust?” Thor questioned Fury, ignoring Percy’s remark.
Everyone started shouting over one another. At one point, it got too hard to tell who was saying what.
“You understand that—”
“I can’t believe—”
“Are you boys really that naive? SHIELD monitors potential threats.”
“Captain America is on threat watch?”
“We all are.”
“Just a little concern, Doctor.”
“You're on that list?”
“Stark, just one more word…”
“Threatened. I feel threatened.” Tony shouted loud enough for everyone to hear.
”Cool it, tin can.” Percy shot. “They just said that everyone in this room is on that list, including you.”
“My suit isn’t tin, it’s a titanium-gold alloy.”
“You speak of control, yet you court chaos.” Thor’s voice boomed.
“It’s his M.O., isn’t it? I mean, what are we, a team?” Bruce started ranting. “No, no, no. We’re a chemical mixture that makes chaos. We’re… we’re a time-bomb.”
“You need to step away.” Fury told Banner.
Tony threw his hand on Steve’s shoulder. “Why shouldn’t the guy let off a little steam?”
“You know damn well why!” Steve pushed Tony’s hand away. “Back off!”
The two squared each other, turning face-to-face. There was a fire building in Steve’s eyes as everyone else turned to watch the showdown. “Oh, I’m starting to want you to make me.”
“Big man in a suit of armor. Take that off, what are you?” Steve asked him.
Without missing a beat, Tony replied, “Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.”
Percy’s eyes bounced between the two fighting men. It was like watching a tennis match, serving the ball back and forth to each other.
“I know guys with none of that worth ten of you.” Steve took a small step forward. “Yeah, I’ve seen the footage. The only thing you really fight for is yourself. You’re not the guy to make the sacrifice play, to lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you.”
“I think I would just cut the wire.”
Steve let out a small chuckle. “Always a way out… you know, you may not be a threat, but you better stop pretending to be a hero.”
“A hero? Like you?” Tony scoffed. “You’re a laboratory experiment, Rogers. Everything special about you came out of a bottle!”
Immediately there was a change in the air as the room grew tenser. Steve’s face grew tighter and his jaw clenched. “Put on the suit, let’s go a few rounds.”
Thor laughed. “You people are so petty… and tiny.”
“As opposed to looking like a hippie surfer.”
“Yeah, this is a tee…” Banner muttered.
“Agent Romanoff,” Fury started to order. “would you escort Dr. Banner back to his...”
“Where?” Banner asked. “You rented my room.”
“The cell was just in case...”
“In case you needed to kill me, but you can't! I know! I tried!”
Everyone turned to Banner at his confession. The doctor took a second to regain some of his breath. “I got low. I didn't see an end, so I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out! So I moved on. I focused on helping other people. I was good, until you dragged me back into this freak show and put everyone here at risk!”
Banner was getting more and more upset. He looked at Romanoff, who for the first time that Percy had seen, actually looked unnerved. “You wanna know my secret, Agent Romanoff?” Banner asked the redhead. “You wanna know how I stay calm?”
Percy reached for Riptide as soon as the Doctor grabbed the scepter. Out of the corner of his eye, the demigod noticed Fury and Natasha reaching for their guns. “Let’s not do anything rash now,” Percy spoke. “Put the scepter down and we can all go home happy and in one piece.”
Banner looked down and noticed he was holding a glowing scepter. His grip loosened, but he didn’t drop it. Shocked, the doctor stared at the scepter in his hands.
The computer beeped, breaking the moment. Banner quickly put the scepter back on the table and made his way over to the computer. “Sorry, kids. You don’t get to see my party trick after all.”
“Located the Tesseract?”
“I can get there faster.”
“Look, all of us…”
“The Tesseract belongs on Asgard,” Thor said. “No human is a match for it.”
“That’s fine,” Percy agreed. “As long as no one else on your planet tries to use it to take our planet.”
Tony turned to leave, but Steve held out one of his hands to stop him. “You’re not going alone.”
“You gonna stop me?” Tony argued.
“Put on the suit, let's find out.”
“I'm not afraid to hit an old man.”
“This is stupid!” Percy shouted. Everyone turned towards him. “Look, none of us by ourselves can defeat Loki and whatever army he’s bringing. We can only do this if we work together.” Percy took a second to scan his eyes over the group. “I don’t care if you guys think that the others are lame, I don’t. You can butt heads later. All I care about is making sure that New York City is still standing tomorrow.”
Everyone was quiet. Steve’s head hung a little, like he was ashamed. Tony just stared at Percy, looking away when Percy made eye contact.
At that moment, Banner, who had been looking at the monitors, gasped and said “Oh, my god!”
The ship shook violently, and a big burst of fire came up from the vent underneath, throwing everyone in different directions. Percy landed hard on his back just a couple feet from where he had been standing originally. He was left winded, desperately gasping for air. The room was filled with smoke. Percy heard Steve from somewhere in the room yelling, “Put on the suit!”
The demigod pulled himself up just in time to see Tony and Steve run out of the room. Fury and Thor were still getting back up. Percy ran a quick scan of the room, not finding Natasha or Bruce.
“Styx,” Percy swore as he headed for the door.
