Can I just say, the fact that the high lords don’t all wear generic crowns in their colors, but it actually ties to their courts makes me happy?and they probably all have quite a few different themed ones?

Tamlin with his burnished gold laurel leaf crown at the wedding that was a courtly version of the calanmai crown he probably dawns each year? And his tithe crown is so suited to more strict moments with its representation of wealth and stability?

Tarquin with his silver cresting waves and blue gemstones for a casual night out on the town? As asymmetrically stunning as the very waters he connects his court to, the blues of the stones glinting with white and green and the depths of the very ocean hidden by the brash, crashing beauty created by the surface?

Helions spiked gold crown as vicious and pointed yet beautiful and picturesque as the suns rays? As warm in color as his skin yet simple and statement making in it power just like helion himself- not needing much adornment to radiate the strength, beauty and deadly power and wicked intelligence he holds?

Rhys has a raven feather crown which makes me wonder if previous highlords of night weren’t just serpentile like the creatures of the hewn city but dark winged and raven featured in some way? (And Feyres crown - complimentary to Rhys isn’t just a newly made item, it existed in tandem with his for previous ladies of night I’m assuming so it ties to the court that way as well?)

Autumn court with its mixture of Medieval English and conqueror era Spanish style in my head? With traditional red and green stones highlighted the most and silver and gold alike, crosses and points to their headwear? Very formal and structured, not just to denote their position, but to reinforce tradition, wealth, class structures, very inline with what I’d assume of the autumn courts viciousness mentioned in the books? Beautiful but vicious.

Winter court with near white shining metals, carved glass and crystal bases for ice diamonds; blue, gray, & frosty fogged stones? Dark blues and wicked gnarled features representing barren branches and shards of ice????

Dawn court with its sweeping elegance and love of beautiful embellishments and pension for color? The people are noted to be largely from Xian as noted by SJM and I always imagine dawn court to be a beautiful mix of Indian and Chinese culture, and the jewelry reflects it, beautifully Intrically carved warm toned metals that depict stories or symbolism entertwined with the culture? Stoned used abundantly yet they’re never garish? They only enhance and bring out the beauty of the crowns and reflect the cultures within the court itself?

(Like I’d love to dive deeper into it and maybe make or paint the crowns one day but that’s a different story)

Day 1: Firsts

Nesta said it herself that things were just getting started between Azriel and Gwyn, which also means that there are many firsts to come for these two! Today is the day to envision Gwynriel’s first kiss, first Starfall, first date, etc!

Day 2: Complementary

Gwyn and Az complement each other in many ways with their personalities, hobbies, and even their aesthetic. How do you personally see them and the many ways they work well together?

Day 3: Confessions

You can’t have a love story without a confession right? For today’s prompt, think of the different confessions Gwynriel may make to one another as they go through their romance. Are they confessing their wants? Their fears? Maybe even their love for each other?

Day 4: Warriors

Gwyn and Az are the only ship where both characters are Carynthian warriors, with Gwyn also being a Valkyrie warrior and Az being a Shadowsinger! How do you think this dynamic plays out in both the battle field and the training ring?

Day 5: Domestic Life

After everything they’ve been through, Gwynriel deserve to bask in the more mundane activities in day to day life. Maybe the two of them are napping or taking a stroll? Reading on the couch cuddled up? Or possibly even looking after a family together?

Day 6: Mates

There have been heavy hints and parallels of Gwyn and Az being mates throughout ACOSF and the bonus chapter. How do you imagine their mated life? What imagery comes to mind when you think of Gwynriel as mates?

Day 7: Healing

Gwyn and Azriel both have healing journeys that they need to go on, especially in regards to how they both view their own self worth. How do you think they help one another overcome their past traumas and hardships? What do you imagine a healing journey between them to look like?

Assuming this will be an unpopular opinion..

I think Rhys would 100% read Bryce's mind as soon as she appeared.

Like she was covered in blood, wearing crazy clothes, appeared from nowhere, had the Made feel about her, BIG sword. Rhys would have seen a threat in the world where he now has a child and been like "WTF, I'm going in!" I don't think consent would have had time to cross his mind before instinct and fear kicked in.

And I would not have hated him for doing so. Coz realistic. And I quite like my characters flawed. In fact, I judge him for not doing it. That's probably why he went in so hard at Nesta, because he knew he fucked up.

Tap each photo to see all of the stunning customizations made to the Fairyloot exclusive editions of Sarah J Maas’ “Crescent City.” Fairyloot truly went all out, so I couldn’t only post one photo! 🙈

I know I say this about every special edition book, but I really mean it this time when I say that this set contains two of the most gorgeous books I’ve ever owned. The redesigned dust jackets, slipcase with foil details, and digital sprayed edges by @micaelaalcainodesign are breathtaking.

The beautiful illustrations of my favorite characters on the hardcover and endpapers by @lizzart_zardonicz nearly brought me to tears because they were captured so perfectly.

Fairyloot recently confirmed that they will create matching editions of the rest of the books in the series as they come and I couldn’t be more excited! I look forward to seeing how they up their customization game with the next installment. In the meantime, I’ll continue to honor and cherish this set because it deserves nothing less 😌

Unpopular opinion: we do not know nearly enough about Azriel to make a proper judgement on his character, not to the depth as other's characters, therefore I do not love him he's pretty boy stale bread.

Our girl SJM really said "hot and quiet" that's what girls like. I knew someone who was a new kid in high school who was like that, turns out he's anti-feminist, pro-lifer, transphobic and halfway to incel, and he was quiet because he was bullied at his old school for his opinions. SO LIKE YOU NEVER KNOW. GOOD LOOKS AND QUIET ISN'T ALWAYS IDEAL.

Edit: same applies for Elaine and Eris. @sjmaas we need more info.

📚 S H E L F I E 📚 Q: Do you collect special edition books, or ones with sprayed/stenciled edges? If not, is there anything that you do collect? It's #tuesdayshelfie time! Wait, is that not a thing? Maybe we can call it #sicknessshelfies, since my son and I have been sick for like 5 days and that's why I didn't post this over the weekend 🥺 Oh well, whatever we want to call it, here's a shelfie! So @torriereadsalot mentioned she didn't think I'd ever shown my shelves, and since I was cleaning out the one bookshelf in the living room, I figured I'd take pics while they looked nice 😅 The first one is my collection of beautiful sprayed and stenciled edges from @bookish_signs. Aren't they stunning?? (I actually have more than this but the others are buried at the bottom of book stacks!) The second pic is my SJM shelf (the painted quote sign is also from @bookish_signs) and, clearly, doesn't even fit my Crescent City books! I hope to be back on before the end of the week, but we are headed to my parents' tomorrow (haven't seen them since before pandemic 😭), so it may not happen.
