Nimue Itron: Divination Wizard and aeroarcheologist of the Aether Storm.

I've been going though a lot of mental health issues lately. Due to this, I've felt so uninspired to make art, and when I do I found myself so disappointed in my results.

Today I reworked an old illustration. The outfit reference of my beloved D&D character Nimue. A tiefling wizard in a sky pirate campaign. As this was a clothing reference, I never did a refined take on her face. So that is what this is. A refined cleaned up portrait of her.

I'm not entirely satisfied with how she turned out, but I'm glad to be making anything. I miss the joy of drawing and I am trying to find it again.

Happy New Year! This is Ana, a lovely vampire heiress from the mind of Lady Spotted Ray. We swapped old characters, and each took a turn giving them new life.

Ana is the youngest sibling of a long lived vampire family. It was such a fun challenge to illustrate a character who is both immortal, yet still an adolescent.

I don't even have anything clever to type anymore. I just love drawing Gwen.

This was a drawing I originally made to map out my plans for an upcoming Ghost-Spider/Spider-Gwen/Gwendolyn Maxine Stacy cosplay.

I combined some of my favorite details from a whole rolodex of various Gwen. I even drew flats to see the seams and shapes laid out! Though I did not illustrate them in the "proper" style. Yes, my fashion illustration teacher would look upon me with shame.

Fantasy X Runner

When I was a preteen, there was an IOS game named "Fantasy X Runner". I was obsessed with the art and character design of this game. Especially the character known simply as "Princess". Sadly at some point the game was delisted, but I never forgot. I still think about it once in a blue moon.

And you know, In this era of micro trends, search engine optimization and floods of generic AI generated images proclaiming to be art, you have no choice but to rebel.

Sometimes you have to make fanart for something with 0 traction and 0 audience. You must make art for the joy of making. Sometimes you need to make fanart for your preteen self.

Seriously, do it. I highly recommend it.

How about that new Adventure Time series?

Flame Princess isn't even in the new Fionna and Cake series, but she is my favorite.

Spider-Sona update 2023

Ophelia Isben-Marsters: Into the Spider-Verse vs Across the Spider-Verse face design comparison.

After staring at Ophelia's same hair and face for five years, I knew it was time for a change. I went for what I can only describe as "90s anime side part". It fits for her imaginary character arc that only exists in my brain space.

I will publish some of it here online one day, I promise.

Also this started as an attempt to recreate the Spider-Verse portrait look. I got a little off track when I tried to combine that with a 1990s anime ova look. It mostly came out looking: just like how I normally draw. Ah well, we try.

Spider-Sona update 2023

Araneidae Into the Spider-Verse vs Across the Spider-Verse design comparison.

All of the main cast got an outfit update between Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse. I felt my spider-sona, Ophelia, deserved a upgrade too. A visual way to show the passage of time and such.

Her aesthetic has taken a bit of a shift. When making her I was heavily inspired by thriller and sci fi 1990s anime. The harsh shadows, the warm tint, and CRTV halo effect really appeals to me. That never really "came through" in her earlier art. I think this time I was more successful channeling those influences.

Oh and yes, she does still have her web cape. Included as alts so as not to obscure her suit design.

Another art trade! I've been working on a lot of these to try to diversify my artistic output. Good practice for getting me out of my comfort zone.

This is another wonderful character from the mind of ladyspottedray . This elegant avian demon goes by the name of Ziz. Yes, that Ziz of mythological fame.

For this trade, we each sent each other a written description of a character with no visual reference material. It was fun if difficult challenge. I hope I did him justice.

I did also include an extra Spooky-Internet-Mandala-Catalog-Lookin-Horror-ScaryFace version of the illustration too. The opportunity was too good to pass up.

Sabrina The Teenage Witch || 2023 Redraw

A return to the yearly tradition of redraws! I feel particularly emotional about this years rendition. Mostly due to 2022-2023 being such a tumultuous time for myself.

The first attempt, in 2018 was made when I first entered college. Now in 2023 I have graduated and my art has evolved greatly. I am beyond pleased to see how my art has improved.

Another art trade? So soon? Yes indeed! I've been having so much fun making work based of the creativity of my friends.

The theme for this trade was "Magical Girl/Boy/People". We both made a collage and then swapped them. Each of us making a work of art in our preferred mediums. My skills lie in character design so design a character I did!

Thus, I introduce you to the esteemed Chevalier Eurytheme. Their skill and grace with the blade is renowned in the autumn fae court. They are a favorite and confidant of the queen. Some rumor that they may be her highness's personal assassin. But these are nothing but fleeting rumors. At least that is what the Chevalier's enemies hope.
