You know what I wanna see in Azriel’s book? A major emotional breakdown in which he openly cries his heart out. This man is stoic and angry and so closed off, even among friends. I’m begging him to show us even a sliver of vulnerability. Azriel, my guy, you can cry if you need to.

Why is everyone saying Az will have the next book?

Did we all just forget about Tower of Dawn and how it deviated from the main story only for the end of it to go right back to the main plot?

Yeah, okay, it's extremely probable that he could. Im not saying that. There is definitely evidence of his book being next. We seem to forget that SJM keeps us on our toes. And it's possible the book could be Elains. That Sarah will pull away from the central plot to focus on Elain, Lucien, the Mortal lands, The Autumn Court, Vassa, and Koschei, and then that bleeds into the whole plot of acotar.

So I knew going into ACOFAS that Feyre and Rhys would eventually have a child, but can I just say how unbelievably grateful I am to learn that said child is actually intentional?

I really should've known with how considerate and gentle and good Rhys is with her, but it still makes me so happy.

This, I am fully onboard with.

Little man's going to be the most precious and loved creature in Prythian with the most doting and embarrassing uncles and the coolest aunts.

Rhysand literally in tears while Feyre holds him as she says, "I love you" makes me sob every time. His whole story, start to finish. How he knew, he saw her before they even met. Every sign in Feyre's life even as a human, hinting and nudging her closer and closer to Rhysand.

You cannot give me a love story that is better than theirs. You can try, but you can't.

The biggest evidence of Gwyn being Azriel’s mate is, IMO, a single line:

“A thing of secret, lovely beauty.”

This is the last line in the Azriel bonus chapter in ACOSF. He is describing Gwyn’s joy upon seeing the necklace. Set aside the fact that it was regifted, that he just “wanted” Elain not 5 minutes earlier, and think:

Azriel pined for Mor for five hundred years. In the books, Mor is described just as Rhys is: outwardly, unbelievably beautiful.

Azriel yearned for Elain, to taste her, have her, much in the same way. And like Mor, Elain is described as outwardly beautiful. Even Feyre says she’s always been known as the most beautiful sister.

Azriel feels that he is not beautiful. He is full of scars and shadows. He is attracted to the thing he wants most, the thing he feels he’ll never have: beauty. And both Mor and Elain are essentially beauty personified.

But here’s the thing… Azriel needs to accept himself first. Even Mor said, at one point, that the problem wouldn’t be her if they were to get together. It would be him, because he doesn’t feel deserving of anyone. And perhaps when he finally does, he will see what’s right in front of his eyes; that beauty can mean many things. That there’s something to be said about beauty hidden deep within. That perhaps another person—someone who isn’t considered punch-you-in-the-face exquisite, but is beautiful all the same—might help him see that.

also happy almost three year anniversary to this ask that I never saw. I should reread but I will say I have only three things in terms of things I did not like about ACOSF. Two from the book and one from the aftermath.

Obligatory how the pregnancy was handled. I think that gets the award for "worst SJM subplot" across all her books and will hopefully never be topped.

2. MIND-STILLING. Just call it meditating. Please. Please please please. It's accepted in fantasy books that none of these people are speaking English in any book and the language is just adapted so we can read it. CALL IT MEDITATING. I think I'm the only person who was bothered by this but my only reaction was:

Actually, yknow what, name an SJM character in ToG who LIVED was NOT in a relationship by KoA? A SJM ship which has been accepted by the characters in which the mating bond has been rejected? Even Rhys (SPOILER FOR THE ACOSF EXTRA SCENE WITH AZ!!) says that he needs the mating bond to stay between Elaine and Lucien even though he previously stated that relationships should be about love and the mating bond is mainly about genetics and magic like wtf???

and while we’re on the topic of all the reasons I hate SJM:

name ONE acceptable reason for her to market ACOTAR as “YA Fantasy” which had my 13-year-old ass reading chapter 55 of ACOMAF?

And why the hell does Rhysand have Feyre paraded as basically his sex toy Under The Mountain, getting her so drunk she can’t remember anything whilst he is 500+ years old, she is 19, and HE HIMSELF has been sexual abused for 50 years? Wouldn’t he know what that’s like??? What was the point? (See also: when they go to the court of nightmares the first time) I don’t give a shit if it was “for her own good” or “to help her not lose herself to madness” or whatever the hell people are saying about SJM.

what have you heard?? I read it, it's better - more substantive - than I hoped, gave us next to nothing for the ship war, though people are coming in with theories acting like a theory is a win (despite 95% of their previous theories being debunked already).

I am so looking forward to doing meta on Nesta and Azriel and their friendship and how they work together. Besides being proven right about multiple of my assumptions about HOFAS, their friendship is the best thing to come out of this book to me.
