Joyless Kingdom reached the #1 spot in the surrealist new releases category today. I’m really beyond moved by your support. I know a bunch of you have left reviews and I appreciate that—though the dark overlords who run amazon seem to review them for a ridiculous amount of time to make sure you’re not a bot. Thank you for taking the time to drop a note.
If and when you are ready to leave a review on the seller page after reading, it would be much appreciated. I intend to do a lot more with Vulture House—so your support, in any capacity, is super dope.
Thank you very much for helping to give this book a little life beyond my desk and heart.
I've got a new story linked in my profile about my time spent with Teddy Roosevelt. I knew I was meeting a man named Joe who performs as Teddy Roosevelt, but after some time together I was convinced he was Teddy himself. Can't thank Mr. Wiegand enough for letting me shadow him around last month.
“Each object here is a trapdoor into the past. Like, say, the carved Viking head that hangs over his closet full of antique porcelain dinnerware sets. Alan’s lineage goes all the way back to the Vikings. His parents were from Norway. His dad was a sea captain. Because of his Viking blood, Alan joined the Navy during Vietnam. He’d rather have been at sea than drafted into the front lines. He spent two years on an aircraft carrier as a dental technician. If a sailor had a tooth that proved hard to pull the dentist would cut a flap in the gum and hold a chisel to it as Alan hit the gum with a mallet.”
Meet Alan, the latest subject of our “15 Minutes” series.

I'm thrilled to share this new piece that I've written for Catapult. It's about a man named Alan. He comes from a family of Vikings. I think you'll like him. Also - what an honor to have an illustration by Tallulah Pomeroy to accompany my story.
I wrote about working as a furniture mover for the dead. Check it out over at @narratively. Huge thanks to Kristen Tomkowid for following me around the job with her camera.
I’m gonna have to raise a child soon. I have never raised a child before – but I have had some animals and I feel like I did a decent job with them. So I wrote down some advice for myself and others who are due to bring home a human baby soon. I think this is useful stuff that all people who plan to come in contact with newborn human babies should know.
