Three: no I don’t MiNd guys, fictionally, but I’m not sayin that out loud. Four: no I probably would not actually date ANYONE, fictional or not, even if I say they look nice or like their personality, and five: I’m aroace

I think a lot of alloros fundamentally misunderstand how being aro actually feels
I don’t go about my day as a hetro person who just happens to opt out of romance when it pops up
I’ve known i was different since before i even knew different was something i could be. Since i was like 12 or 13 I’ve known somehow what i was feeling was off compared to everyone around me. Growing up like that was fundamentally a queer experience for me, even if i wasn’t trans. In fact, i feel like my experiences being aro tie me closer to being queer than even my gender. While i can’t relate to everything in them, other queer coming of age stories do mirror my own aro coming of age. So to say that an aro person, regardless of their other identities, can’t be queer is just baffling to me.

'Being gay/trans is just a phase'
Oh gee it's almost like identity is constantly changing and people, especially youth, are developing and figuring out who they are!
Many people have phases with their identity throughout their life, so why is it suddenly a bad thing when someone has a phase where they thought they were queer and turned out not to be?
Even if being queer is just a passing phase for some, it doesn't make them any less valid. They're just figuring out their identity, and acting like these people are why conservatives believe that being queer is all a phase is not the way to go.
So if you thought you were and identified as queer but later realised you weren't, that's completely okay! You're not to blame for homophobia/transphobia <3

“gays can’t be homophobic!” “trans people can’t be transphobic!” please educate yourself. 😕.
Edit: some additions to this post after taking into consideration some of the notes it’s getting.
POC can be racist. disabled can be ableist. Hell, dare i say, women can be sexist to other women. men can be sexist to other men under that same light.
if you disagree, with any of this, D. N. I.

Saw a post making fun of Asexuals in the year of our Good Vibes 2022 so a reminder:
The A stands for the Asexual community and spectrum (it also represents the Aromantic and Agender communities but I’m Asexual so I’ll be talking about that specifically in this post)
Celibacy is a choice to abstain from sex. Asexuality is a sexuality defined by a lack of sexual attraction to anyone, not by the choice to abstain from sex.
Every asexual person has different feelings on sex (an activity, not an attraction) - some are sex repulsed, some are sex neutral, and some are sex favorable. A physically pleasurable experience is not equal to an attraction to parties involved.
The Asexual community has been around since the dawn of the Queer liberation movement, and Asexual individuals have always existed.
Aphobia is real and has done tangible harm to Asexual people. Listen to and learn from their experiences.
If you make fun of Asexuals and their community jokes (dragons/cakes/cards) you are Aphobic. If you’re Asexual and you make fun of these aspects of your own community or consider them ‘cringe’ you have internalized Aphobia.
Sometimes teenagers and young people will identify as Asexual and change their label later in life. This does not mean that all young people who identify as Asexual will change their minds, nor does it mean that all people who identify as Asexual are young.
Seriously what do you people have against the dragons and cake jokes those are classic and hilarious please deconstruct why you have so much rage for harmless jokes that’s not a healthy response to silliness.
Anyways reblog this post if you’re Asexual, support Asexuals, or really want a dragon.

Sometimes I can spend hours thinking about how a lot of gay stereotypes (fast walking, weird sitting, struggling with numbers, weird fashion, etc.) are just symptoms of neurodivergence, because neurodivergent people are more likely to be open about their sexualities due to not giving a fuck about social norms and have accidentally shaped straight people’s perception of gay people by just being rad as fuck.

I totally get gendered petnames like dude, sis, bro, and whatever else, and I get why some people might be confused as to why some trans people might take issue with a petname you might think is neutral. However, I do want people to remember that trans people often have different relationships with those petnames because they're gendered, and they might be uncomfortable with those connotations. A trans woman who doesn't want you to call her "dude" is probably not doing it to anger or accuse you of anything, but she might just have a negative relationship with that word.
I get that it can be hard to change habits, but it is worth it to include trans people. If a trans person in your life asks you not to use certain words, I promise they aren't trying to fuck you over or make you feel like you're under attack. They are just expressing a boundary - one that cis people also express.
