LET'S TALK ABOUT "HE'LL MAKE IT BACK"
Special thank you to @mmobiuses, @starrose17, and @stevenrogered whose gifs make-up the lion's share of this post. Thank you to all the other amazing gif artists as well, without you, my metas won't be possible.
This might come as a surprise to a lot of people, but I actually wasn't big on Lokius until Season 2. I thought Loki and Mobius made a cute ship in Season 1, but that was the extent of it. In truth, I lost interest in the Loki series by the S1 finale and had 0 interest in watching S2. I didn't give the series another try until I saw positive reviews on Tumblr. I therefore started watching S2 when S2E4 dropped.
LOKI SEASON 1
Enjoying the potential love story between two characters is a deeply personal and subjective experience. So take what I say as my personal experience observing Loki and Mobius's relationship.
I fully believed Mobius loved Loki in S1 in the platonic sense. Tom Hiddleston has given a few interviews on Loki's and Mobius's relationship and seems to believe in this sentiment as well [see 5:30-7:30 and 10:57-11:00]).
That is to say, in S1, I didn't feel, "Oh, my god ... he loves him." It was more, "Yes, he loves him", there is no question, his actions prove it.
There is wiggle-room for unrequited love in the S1E4 interrogation scene, but the jealousy Mobius exhibited could have just as easily been a combination of anger on behalf of his murdered colleagues and platonic jealousy.
However, I felt the first hint of unrequited love from Mobius occurred during his goodbye scene with Loki in S1E5. Specifically, this look:
Tumblr media
I had no expectations for that look to pay off in any way. Season 2 surprised me.
LOKI SEASON 2
S2E1 is amazing episode because, through subtext, it reframes how Mobius's S1 emotions may be interpreted with stronger evidence for romantic motivation. In this episode, there appears to be a subtle, gradual build-up to the moment that Mobius's love for Loki may be viewed as fully romantic. Let's break down the episode and look at the progression:
First, learning that Loki is at the TVA: *sigh* I can't find the "Loki's here?" gif.
Second, and perhaps the most infamous, the reunion and whole-body support Mobius provides Loki in the TVA War Room (physical comfort):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Third, Mobius bringing Loki somewhere safe and quiet, assuring him that "it's okay" (emotional comfort):
Tumblr media
Fourth, Mobius insisting that Loki's condition must be fixed, not once but twice, in two different scenes. A third (writer's magic 3s!) instance occurs in the Heart of the TVA, just before the gangway scene (prioritizing the other):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fifth, Mobius's admission that Loki's timeslipping looks horrible, and he can't look at it anymore. He repeatedly stresses to Loki how serious this is (emotional and physical empathy):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sixth, Mobius taking Loki to exact right person who can help. This is particularly significant, because Mobius is the only person in MCU canon who has verbally expressed concern for Loki's physical well-being and took immediate action to stop the pain (act of service):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seventh, the third time Mobius prioritizes Loki's wellbeing. He scolds Loki and reminds him they have only one shot at getting his timeslipping corrected before the temporal radiation becomes too high (prioritizing the other):
Tumblr media
Eighth, Mobius interrupting Loki, insisting that he will make it back. The subtext here is that no other outcome is acceptable or thinkable for Mobius (emotional comfort):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, Ninth, the clincher: "He'll make it back." (self-comfort)
This scene is everything to me. Moments 1 through 8 build-up to this singular moment. Let's do a micro-analysis on it.
Tumblr media
After Loki timeslips, the camera stays on Mobius. It tracks him as he kneels down to pick-up the time sick, the last thing Loki touched. The camera then pans up as Mobius rises.
Tumblr media
@stevenrogered, THANK YOU for this gifset. It's literally the only one I could find that captures the camera tracking Mobius after Loki disappears, and this is my all-time favorite Mobius scene.
Mobius stands for a moment, motionless, and the camera holds on his facial expression. He's staring at where Loki WAS for extended period of time (keep this in mind for later). He's holding his breath. He's worried, scared, and hopeful, not for himself and the danger he faces on the gangway, but for Loki.
Finally, he exhales as he says to himself, "He'll make it back".
Tumblr media
This entire sequence--particularly the moment when Mobius picks-up the time stick and holds it in silence--made me feel, "Oh ... Oh ... he loves him."
The camera stays with Mobius, capturing his reaction to this high-stakes situation for a significant amount of time (@loki-us, maybe you can get this timed starting from the moment Loki disappears and Mobius starts to kneel to pick-up the time stick?). Cinematographers don't do this type of hold unless they want to illicit a strong emotion from the audience regarding the character we are focusing on in the moment.
My insides swooped, which rarely ever happens when I view film or television.
And this camera hold, this pregnant pause, is mirrored by Loki's stare in S2E5:

Tumblr media
You stayed up so far into the early morning finishing up the color grading of both Rhodey's and Shaun's pictures, as well as meticulously doing and redoing the lettering for their months to get everything just the way you pictured it in your head, that you decided you'd spend the night in the studio. Fortunately, there was an unused bedroom setup that was practically calling your name.
Though if you were being honest, even if there wasn't, you'd have probably been content curling up on the couch with how exhausted you were.
As you were combing through the tangles of your bedhead, you practically jumped in your seat as the door to the studio opened, and you stupidly wielded your comb as a weapon against whoever was about to walk through the door. Was it foolish? For sure.  But it was better than nothing in case it was a genuine intruder.
You sighed in relief as you saw Scott come into view. "Dammit Scott, I was about to—"
"What, Scopes? Beat me with a comb?" he retorted with a hearty laugh. "You can put the weapon down, I was just stopping by to see the studio. Make a decision on where I wanted my shoot so I didn't waste minutes on our appointment later."
"That's…that's really smart," you commended him, earning you a friendly grin.
You couldn't quite place him yet. Was he one of the men Tony talked about? He never struck you as someone who would be interested in you; you were a far cry from the women he'd been involved with before. But then again, you'd been surprised with Shaun because…
Well, if you were being honest with yourself, you never looked at anyone else. It never occurred to you to look for signs of interest in someone else; you were too caught up in your one-sided attraction with Loki.
"But you shouldn't be here this early," he spoke into the otherwise empty studio, the soft light of the dawn breaking casting a glow over the space that made it seem almost…whimsical.
Maybe if you were with the right person, you'd even dare say it was romantic.
"I'm not here early. I'm still here," you explained. "I slept here. You literally caught me in my 'I woke up like this' era." He chuckled at your words as you waved your hand, motioning toward the various sets. "Just let me fix up the bedroom set and--"
"Actually I have an idea for that. Leave it as is. I'll see you after lunch?"
You simply answered him with a thumbs up before you put your hair up in a ponytail and sat down in front of your computer to finalize March and April…perhaps experiment on the lettering for May while you were at it. That way you could knock out some of the more minor tasks for the calendar and just have to color grade and plug the pictures in once the shoots were done.
When you heard a steady knock on your studio door, you became painfully aware of the hour. The now harsh sunlight casting a stark, nearly blinding glow over the entire space. You quickly rushed to the windows and drew the blinds in order to bathe the studio in a softer light from your equipment that would be used during Scott's shoot afterward.
"Come in!" you hollered as you pulled on the string that brought the blinds downward. A fond smile pulled at the corners of your mouth as the door opened to reveal Shaun on the other side. "Hey there, Ten Rings. Did you come over to see what the final look for April is? I could pull it up real quick after I bring down these blinds."
"Oh, I could help you. I'll start on the other end and meet you in the middle?" You nodded at him and he went off to work. "So when I exited your studio yesterday a bunch of the guys were waiting to see if I was the lucky lad you've decided to grace with your love and devotion."
"God, you're a cheese ball,  you know that?"
"Anyway," he stressed as you both moved to your next window. "Loki was there."
"Shaun--"
"You should've seen the relief on his face when I told them all that it wasn't me." You gave him a look that clearly said you didn't believe him. "You can choose not to believe me, Scopes, I'm just telling you what I saw."
"Alright alright, whatever, Xu," you huffed as you took some deep breaths after drawing the blinds on half the floor on an empty stomach. "Hey when you're done on that last one, could you hit the lights? You're closer." He nodded before walking over to the light switch, a crisp white glow now washing over the studio. "Thanks. So you wanna see your finished page now?"
"Nah, I know it turned out great. You've got a great eye, amazing attention to detail, and have you seen me?" he finished as he flexed, making you chortle at his antics. "With that killer combination, there's no way that turned out bad."
"So why are you here, then?"
"Come to check if you've eaten," he answered with a playfully stern tone. "You barely ate anything yesterday and last night when I went down for a midnight snack, I saw a certain Asgardian in the common area poised outside the door to this studio."
"Okay now I know you're absolutely seeing things, because there's no way on this or any other universe that I'm going to believe that--"
"Again, Scopes, I'm just telling you what I saw. Now assuming that he was there because you hadn't come out of your studio for the night, and also the fact that that bedroom setup looks like it's been slept in, I'm going out on a limb here and guessing that you spent the night in here. And because I know for a fact that that fridge has nothing in it except bougie wine, it's very safe to assume you haven't eaten a goddamn thing."
Your stomach grumbled before you could form words. "You would be correct."
He put his palm to his face. "You're going to pass out on us one of these days and it's all gonna be over men in varying degrees of nakedness. For a calendar." You chuckled at the comical impression that passing out over the guys being different types of naked around you placed in your head. "Come on. Let's go get some lunch together at least."
Shaun held out his arm for you to take as you walked out of the studio, but you shook your head slowly. "I don't do the whole arm in arm thing. Unless it's Wanda. Or Nat. Sorry, bud." He made a show of putting his head down in feigned sadness before pepping right back up with an unreasonably bright smile, making you chortle again.
Tumblr media
"Ah, Brother, I see you've set aside a plate for me. Thank you that's rather considerate of you," Thor greeted with a bright smile as he sat down next to Loki at the kitchen island. He grabbed a fork and made a motion as if he were about to dig in, before he stopped himself. "This isn't poisoned, is it, Brother? A prank for me at the sake of your entertainment?"
"I can assure you it is not poisoned."
"Potioned, then? It would turn me into a frog. No, that would be old tricks for you. A dog? Or…Norns, would this turn me into a woman?"
"'Potioned' is not a real word, Thor," the god of mischief droned.
"But is it? The food, I mean?"
"The food is simply food and it wasn't meant for you." The god had set the second plate beside him, his eyes trained on the door to your studio since he sat himself down by the island half an hour ago. He didn't hear the door to your apartment open nor close the previous night, so he assumed that you'd slept in there amongst the sets and the equipment.
"Ah, so I presume that this was meant for Lady Y/N, then?" his brother asked with a teasing lilt. "She may appreciate it more if you just told her how you felt up front, Brother."
"I know not what you're talking about," he hissed. "I simply set it aside so that she need not trouble herself further. Stark already overworks her with this…date keeper project of his."
"Loki if you care for her, might I suggest just…telling--"
His words were cut off by the sound of your studio door opening, and the god felt a heavy weight on his chest as he saw you walk out with Xu following close behind and closing the door behind him. "Look who I've retrieved from the calendar dungeon, everybody," he said with a gratingly jovial tone.
"Hello hello," you said with haphazard circular waves of your hands as you addressed everyone. "I'm alive and I need a shower and food. Not necessarily in that order." Loki felt his skin chill over and begin to prickle as he noticed Barnes begin to get up and grab an empty plate for you.
"Shall I vacate this seat then, Brother?" Thor goaded. "Worry not. I'll decide for you." He quickly hopped off his stool and stalked over to you, placing a hand at your upper back and whispering something in your ear, and motioning for you to take his formerly occupied seat.
A strange warmth washed over him as he watched you walk over to the island and he positioned his arm to steady you in case you were to stumble as you perched yourself on the elevated seat. He could have sworn his heart became lodged in his throat as you looked up at him with your kind, visibly tired eyes, as you softly said, "Thank you" before picking up the fork that his brother had been holding prior and slowly making your way through the plate of bolognese.
The other members of the team kept on asking you about how the date keeper was coming along and you so graciously answered every question in between bites, and confirming your appointment with Lang for later in the evening. He had questions for you, too. Mainly if you were alright, if you felt overworked. If you needed to take a break from this.
And when the last time you had a proper night's sleep was.
Instead his mind wandered down a path he did not tread often: the possibility of him having been wrong. Why would his brother so willingly push you in his direction if he, too, was interested in you? Why keep his actions respectable and dare not breach boundaries with how he addresses you the way that Barnes did with his insistence on calling you "Babes"?
Had the god truly been wrong? Or perhaps…Had he underestimated the level of thought and care that his brother could put into hatching a plan? Perhaps it wasn't that he was pushing you in his direction, but merely creating the illusion of doing so.
Ensuring that he'd keep his brother's guard down, and having you believe that he only feels for you in a friendly manner. And then sweeping the rug from both your feet in one move by asking if he could court you when his appointment comes up tomorrow.
Oh, Brother, I underestimated you, he thought to himself. I assure you I will not make that mistake again.
Tumblr media
You'd felt a bit more like yourself again once you were able to set aside a good hour and a half just taking your time as you showered, using your favorite, most luxurious products on hand. When you emerged from your bathroom you smelled like a mix of lemons and strawberries, finally feeling a semblance of human again.
Now you were back in your studio, triple checking that your camera was sufficiently charged and the memory card was plugged in. All that was missing was Scott.
"Heeeey Scopes," he greeted as he strutted into the studio, walking past you and straight to the bedroom setup that you'd slept in the night before. "Thanks for leaving the bed as it was this morning." You didn't turn around to look at him yet, hearing the rustling of fabric consistent with the unbuttoning of a shirt. "So it's as naked as I'm comfortable with, right?"
"Yup," you answered, popping the p. "Just holler at me when you're ready."
A bit more rustling, this time sounding like the comforter, and then a few seconds later, you heard him say, "Alright, Scopes! I'm ready."
You fiddled with your camera, making sure you've got the correct settings that you'd preset for the bedroom setup, looking up into the set and seeing Scott laying on the bed with nothing on, the rumpled sheet placed strategically to cover just his pelvic area.
"Dammit Scott, now I have to change the sheets," you grumbled with false annoyance.
"You said as naked as I'm comfortable with, so--"
"No no, it's fine. Good, even, because that means we actually have at least one person doing a 'Tasteful Nude' in this calendar." You chuckled at the words. "Mark would be so proud," you commented, motioning toward Scott and his current predicament.
"So what is the deal with you and that plier guy? You ever talk to him after that weird FaceTime where he kept apologizing to tall, dark, and meany?" You shook your head at him, giving him a rueful smile. "Why not? He seemed into you."
"Well, he's cute but…not my type." You clicked your tongue as you tried to remember the call with the man all those weeks ago. "Seems too clean. Too innocent. Definitely intrigued by our way of life but ultimately it'll lead to him leaving because he's not cut out to live around this."
"Well at least there's always the team," he quipped as you tried taking another shot. "The serum boys have it bad for you."
That made you break out into a fit of laughter. "Se—Serum boys?" you asked in between laughs. "What in the actual fuck, Scott?"
"Well, you know--super soldier serum, couple of veteran soldier boys…Serum Boys!" he explained between chuckles. "But uhh…you know. There are guys here interested in…being more."
"And where exactly do you fall in that list, Scott?" you asked, looking at him with a single raised brow.
"Somewhere in the middle, I gotta admit. If I'm the guy? Then you're gorgeous and I wanna see if we can make something out of this. If I'm not? No hard feelings, I'd still want to be your friend even if you are a friend who's seen me next to naked, laying on a bed that you just slept in the night before."
You both looked at each other for a while in complete silence, before once again breaking out into hearty laughter. "It's not you, Scott," you said truthfully. "Now, lemme get something to stand on because I think a pose like this requires an overhead shot, you know? Flat lay that shit."
"I like it, but also…I don't know. It feels a bit like I'm missing something."
"You're not wearing clothes, Scott. You're missing a lot of somethings." He sputtered into laughter again, making sure to clutch the sheet so he didn't accidentally flash you. "But I might have an idea. Gimme a few seconds to get a chair…and a prop for you."
You rummaged through the bathroom set and found a handheld mirror, which you brought back to the bedroom set along with your chair, ultimately deciding against balancing yourself on one of the stools because it seemed too unstable for you to stand up on it on the tips of your toes.
"Okay now hold this, pointed to the headboard and then make a face at the camera. Like…goofy sexy. Make sure it's giving…duck face but hot."
"I have no idea what you just said but I'll give it a shot. Just tell me when," he responded with furrowed brows as he took the mirror from you, letting you perch yourself on the chair, rising to the very tips of your toes.
"You're scarily strong if you can do that on something as unstable as a swivel chair, Scopes. How the--?"
"I did ballet," you explained, the amusement rife on his face. "If any word of this ever gets out to the team, I will fuck with your suit so bad even Tony can't fix it." He held up a Scout's Honor salute with his free hand in response. "And honestly I've balanced myself on way more unstable surfaces…for kill shots."
"Hey Babes just checking in to see if you're gonna be done soon, Nat and I wanna go out for dinner--WHOA sweet Jesus what a view," you heard Wanda speaking from somewhere behind you. "We're leaving in an hour if you wanna come with. And Scott?" He craned his head to look towards the door. "Nice."
You chuckled with your eye against the viewfinder, frustrated that the elevation still wasn't enough, so you hopped off the chair and went over to the study set to pull out a few volumes of the encyclopedia. You stacked three on top of one another and balanced yourself, feet flat, on the tomes.
"Scopes that looks a bit more dangerous…"
"Don't focus on where I'm standing, Lang, focus on the camera. Now just like we talked about. Duck face smirk. You got this. And I wanna actually make it to dinner with my friends so I'm hoping you really got this."
Tumblr media
It had been over an hour since Lang's appointment with you began when Loki noticed that the Scarlet Witch waltzed into your studio, inviting you to dinner with her and Romanoff, and that they'd be leaving in an hour if you were free by then.
What had the god feeling uneasy, however, was the Sokovian's comment of 'what a view'. What exactly had she seen to warrant such a comment?
He kept his gaze on the door as she walked out, a visibly impressed look on her face as she addressed Stark, who was currently in the kitchen with his little girl, taking out one of those artificially flavored treats out of the freezer. "You better be paying our babes Scopes in there some serious money, Tony. She's not half-assing anything. Perched up on her tip toes, on a chair, just to get—"
He'd heard enough. He was up on his feet and striding into your studio, bracing himself to be greeted by the sight of something similar to what he saw the day before with Xu. It couldn't be any worse than seeing you in another man's arms. Not possibly.
Except it was. For some unknown inane reason, the knowledge that you had been in here with Lang being completely naked, with only a rumpled bedsheet covering his undoubtedly inferior manhood from your unsullied eyes, was so much worse than what he witnessed yesterday.
And then there was you. Perched on a stack of books situated atop your swiveling chair, your feet constantly making minute adjustments in order to keep steady. Suddenly the only thing he could think about was you somehow losing your balance and landing right into the mattress, and he despised the image that that thought conjured into his head. He couldn't have that.
Without giving it much thought he began to stride over to the set at the far end of your studio.
"Uuuuh Scopes?" Lang said in a shaky warning tone. "We got company."
"Wanda I swear I will be there before you and Nat—hey!!" Your words had been cut off by the god hoisting you over his shoulder, an arm wrapped around your upper thighs while the other went around your calves. "What gives?"
"That was too precarious, Y/N," he answered you simply.
"Wait hold up. Loki?" You squirmed in his hold, keeping your back straight as you refused to release your grip on your camera, letting out a soft gasp as if you'd realized something. "Wait. Don't put me down yet, just stay still."
"Darling?" He bit his tongue again as he'd forgotten that while it wasn't quite the main conference room with the rest of the team present, Lang was still in the room, witnessing a quite evident display of exactly how much the god truly cared for you.
"Just--please." There was a tremble to your voice as you said it, and he wanted to smack himself for making you so clearly uncomfortable again. He simply wanted to keep you safe, make sure that you didn't injure yourself all due to your dedication to this project of Stark's. He stayed still, holding you steady as best he could. "Thank you. Now Scott? Look at the camera and gimme the duck face smirk." He heard the shutter of your camera go off several times before you spoke again. "Okay I got it. Thanks, Mischief. You uhh…you can put me down now. And Lang? Put your clothes back on."
Loki set you down gently back on your feet, making sure that he angled you both in a way where his body blocked your eyes from being witness to Lang's nakedness. "You could have injured yourself," he said softly.
"I get injured all the time. Occupational hazard," you answered with a casual shrug as you tinkered with your camera to extract a small chip from the inside. "But thank you, Loki." His heart jumped at the sound of his name from your lips, making him long to be in such a position that he'd be able to hear it more often. "Don't let me get used to it, though, or I might call you every time my height betrays me," you finished with an audibly nervous chuckle.
"Whatever I may do to assist you, da--Y/N." He quickly righted himself as he realized he held your hand in his. "I'll--I'll leave you to your duties." He gave your hand a quick squeeze before letting go, committing the feel of holding you to memory, before then proceeding to walk out of your studio.
Tumblr media
When an actual god from Norse Mythology walks in to your photoshoot? In the nude? That could make any average man shrink where they stood. Or laid.
And Scott Lang didn't just shrink. No. He fucking cowered. The look on the Asgardian's face as he saw the current layout of the photoshoot, the undeniable irritation and anger in his eyes had him wishing he could just wrap the sheet around him and waddle away from the studio without a single glance back.
But then that irritation morphed so quickly into concern as he saw how you were perched on the books, and that alone made Scott want to stay for the show. And he was glad he did because getting to see that entire scene play out made him realize two things:
First, the one from the team that you had feelings for was none other than Mr Tall, Dark, and Meany himself. That alone made him realize why you never pursued anything with that Mark guy. You wouldn't divert your attention to anyone else when the one who held it was literally in the league of the gods.
Second? Your feelings were most definitely not one-sided. That was painfully obvious, he couldn't figure out how youcouldn't see it.
Scott walked out of your studio, satisfied at the rough draft you showed him of what his page would look like. When he saw that most of the remaining guys with pending shoots, Loki included and in the front of the group, were waiting with bated breath in the common area, he did a big flourish toward himself with the proudest smile on his face. Most of their eyes widened at the action.
"Relax, gentlemen, it's not me. Don't everyone hug me at once." He spotted Shaun at the kitchen island, giving out a smug look as if he already knew that that was the answer, which had him walking toward the fellow newbie from San Fransisco.
"What's up, Frisco Bro?"
"Sorry what?" Shaun began to laugh at the absurdity of the name. "I mean I like it. Frisco because of where we're from. Anyway, what's up?"
"I think you know who it is, and I think I know who it is, too."
"Oh I definitely know who it is," he said smugly. "I have confirmation and everything."
"Tall, dark, scary, and green?"
"No, it's not Banner."
"I'm not talking about the Hulk, dummy! I'm talking about the god."
"Ohh. Then yeah, we're on the same page. I'm assuming you also know that he definitely likes her, too."
"Dude, it's so obvious! He really went in and grabbed her because he was scared she was gonna fall off her tiny ass makeshift platform of books on top of her swivel chair. I don't even know how she doesn't see it herself by now."
"I don't know, either. Kinda wanna smack their heads together. Tell them hey, they like you back, save yourselves the misery."
Tumblr media
The sound of the boys from San Fransisco talking about his brother made Thor realize that Loki's affections towards you were becoming painfully obvious to more members of the group.
Tomorrow was his appointment with you, and he had every intention to steer your attention toward his brother, what ever may happen. He knew that you two would be good together, for you tamed the otherwise irritable nature of the god of mischief, and even now while you weren't in courtship quite yet, he made efforts to anticipate your needs. Helping you before you even realized you were in need of it.
If your affections were not directed toward his brother, by tomorrow, Thor was determined to make it so.

Just watched the first episode of Loki s2.
THEY'RE SO FUCKING CUTE.
*spoilers*
Mobius is so in love with Loki it's painful. His whole world got turned upside down and the timelines are falling apart. All he cares about is Loki. Even when Loki is basically bouncing off the wall terrified because something bad is coming. Mobius just doesn't care because it isn't important right now. He doesn't immediately start berating Loki about what happened at the end of time. He trusts Loki and cares about him (Sylvie even pointed that out last season).
So after trying to calm Loki down he takes him to OB (who is having a contest with Casey on who can be the most adorable). When they finally get an answer on how to fix the issue they both want to try something else. Loki doesn't want Mobius to lose his skin and Mobius wants the same... and I guess not wanting Loki to die of course. Also the bickering of who has it worse was perfect.
Regardless when the time comes Mobius steps up to the plate without complaint... besides writing "skin?" on a dusty computer and giving a thumbs up. Which was so iconic and I love that for him.
I also desperately need to know what Loki was going to say to Mobius in case he didn't make it. I'm sure he was still thinking about The One Who Remains and Sylvie. He was probably going to tell Mobius to find Sylvie but I need to believe he was going to have a heart-to-heart with Mobius. Maybe talk about fully what happened. All he told Mobius is that Sylvie and he fought, they tied (she won), and that he is coming. Loki is still unsure about the decision he made. He wanted to discuss it with Sylvie but Sylvie had already made her choice and decided to assume the worst of Loki. I think he has a lot of guilt. He either tried to do what he thought was right and would have doomed the timelines if he succeeded in stopping Sylvie or he almost did the right thing but couldn't commit to stopping Sylvie due to wanting a version of himself to be happy thus dooming the timelines. Basically, he's worried that he backed the wrong option and almost ruined everything (either because he believed that a dictator is better than a whole multiverse war or deep down he wanted control of everything) or backed the right option and failed because of his own selfishness.
--okay sorry back to my point. He knows Mobius deserves to know the truth. Hell, he probably wants Mobius to tell him he made the right choice or scold him for being selfish.
So in that moment where Loki may become lost to time (whatever that means. Death? An eternity of solitude, not belonging anywhere?) he apologizes. He admits that he might of fucked up big time and that Mobius was probably wrong to trust him. That maybe Lokis are incapable of doing good even when they're given free will. Maybe he really just wanted the throne.
Mobius is confused by the outburst and has no idea what Loki is even talking about but that doesn't matter right now. He sets his hand on Loki's shoulder immediately shutting the demigod up. A reassuring smile appears on his face.
"Tell me about it when you get back."
Tears well up in Loki's eyes. "But I ruined your life and now you're risking yours to save me. You deserve to know-"
"Know what? You keep forgetting I know everything about you. I wasn't lying when I told you that you could be good. I stole that line from your brother by the way. All you ever needed was someone to believe in you, not a throne. You aren't the same Loki that I met a week ago. You were a God that never questioned his actions because he believed them to always be just. Now you're a man terrified of doing the wrong thing. No matter the fallout we'll figure it out together. First, let's put an end to this whole time-slipping thing... it's honestly making my stomach flip."
Loki is too stunned to speak. It makes no sense. How can two people who know him so well have two different opinions of him? Why does another version of himself believe he can't be trusted while the man who studied every lifetime of every version of Loki trusts Loki with his life (skin?). Loki has to make it make sense. "It bothers you when I am in pain?" He asks still in a haze.
Mobius who had walked away to watch OB work doesn't look up from the control panel. "You're a jackass most of the time but that doesn't mean I enjoy watching you get yanked from past to present."
Loki's own words echo in his mind; 'I just want you to be okay.' The prune stick slips from his hands and clatters to the floor.
Mobius turns his head startled by the noise. "Loki," he notices the tears in Loki's eyes, "what's wrong?"
"I-" Before he can form a sentence a sharp pain shoots across his body as it contorts in ways it shouldn't. As the pain subsides and he gains control of his body he notices his surroundings have changed. Or rather the time has changed. Loki is greeted with an empty dark room.
He looks at the device OB had given him and reality sets in. Pruning stick. His eyes frantically scan the floor for something he left in the present. Of course, it wouldn't be here in the past. As his eyes shoot towards the door something catches his peripheral vision. Something written on the side of a monitor.
Skin?
But that's not possible. Mobius wrote that in the present. It can't be here in the past. Unless he's not in the past. He has never been pulled to the future before. He's running out of time. It's now or never.
Loki runs through the TVA searching for a hunter but only finds empty hallways. The device shakes in his trembling hand. The gage is almost back into the red. He's failed again. He'll never see Mobius again. The old variant of Loki was right; all he does is bring pain and unhappiness everywhere he goes. Glorious purpose, what a cruel joke.
A phone rings close by breaking his trance. With nothing else to do, he slowly makes his way to the odd occurrence.
Then he sees a pair of hands pry open a door. It's Sylvie. Her hair is long and she seems... happy? Emotions again well up in him as their last interaction stings in his mind.
Before Loki can talk he feels an immense pain starting at his back radiate throughout his body. He's felt this exact burning pain before and it isn't the time slipping. For the second time, Loki is pruned while staring at Sylvie. He has no idea who is the responsible party but he doesn't care. All he can do is shut his eyes tightly and pray that the plan works. He wants --no-- he needs to see them again, to make sure they stay safe.
The next thing Loki feels is weightlessness. Is this death? He got pruned too late, right? Surely the universe making him see Sylvie again was punishment.
When he gains the courage to open his eyes he is moving through space at an alarming rate towards someone in a space suit. The person in the suit turns and he sees Mobius and the blast doors closing. Loki swears he sees Mobius smile as the men collide with so much force they are thrown through the doors just as they close.
As they lay on the floor neither are quick to remove their arms from each other. Loki uses one arm to prop himself up slightly while using the other to hold on to Mobius. As he stares at Mobius so many things come to Loki's mind.
I'm glad you're okay.
You still have your skin.
I came back.
Instead of saying any of those things his stomach turns and he remembers Sylvie. "We have to find Sylvie," is all that he can bare. Love is a dagger after all. If he doesn't reach out it can't disappear again.

Socialisation (Final Rose x MCU)
Averia stared at Tony and Bruce.
“Why are you staring at us like that?” Bruce asked. “And why do I feel a sudden chill up my spine.”
“Let me get this straight,” Averia said. “You want to create an AI to help defend the world... and you haven’t thought about socialising it?”
“...” Tony made a face. “You know, that might have slipped my mind.”
“Let’s say you tell this AI to help defend the world. How do you think it’s going to react if the only way it has to learn about it is through the internet and JARVIS.” Averia paused. “No offence, JARVIS. I think you’re wonderful.”
“No offence taken, ma’am.” JARVIS radiated a certain smugness. She’d never called Tony wonderful. “And I do believe she has a point, sir. My... affable nature aside, I do believe that any AI that is exposed to the internet without the proper socialisation procedures may well be driven insane. It does, after all, contain the best of humanity... and the very worst.”
Averia frowned. “Also, I wasn’t with you on the last mission, but there’s something different about you.” Her eyes narrowed, and Tony took a reflexive step back as he felt Saviour’s activation.
“Hey!” Tony said. “Pepper will be pissed if you stab me!”
“I can just fix you afterward,” Averia replied. “But I’m serious. There’s something... ah. Right.” Saviour’s impossibly keen senses pointed out something that Tony himself must have missed. “Tony, what happened on your last mission? There are residues of a power that I haven’t encountered before although it’s reminiscent of Loki’s sceptre. I’m fairly confident it’s been influencing your mind.”
Tony paled. “What? I...” He pursed his lips. “I had... no. Shit. Did I get hit with something?”
“Possibly. Give me a moment to purge it from your body.” Averia allowed her Semblance to do the rest. Simply stripping the influence out was relatively straight forward. There was some meagre resistance, but Saviour’s will was absolute. “There.”
Tony swallowed thickly and blinked owlishly at them. “Oh. That... that makes a difference.”
“What do you mean?”
“I think that whatever they hit me with... it’s been feeding my paranoia, making me even more nervous about things.” He ran a hand through his hair. “An unsocialised AI? Shit. What was I thinking? The moment it became self-aware it would probably try to stab JARVIS or something.”
“I would hope not, sir, but probably. To a newly emergent but hostile AI, I would be deemed the main threat.”
“Put the AI on the back burner for now,” Averia said. “Or perhaps hand over some of the duties you’ve got in mind to JARVIS. He’s sane, highly capable, and trustworthy.”
“Yeah. Yeah. Maybe.” Tony sat down. “I think I need a drink.” He looked at Averia. “Wait... isn’t it a school night?”
“I am, apparently, studying at the library.”
“...” Tony tilted his head to one side. “And your family bought that?”
“I have an excellent poker face.” Averia shrugged. “Plus, I wanted to check up on all of you.”
“Worried we’ll get blasted when you’re not around?” Tony teased.
“Frankly, yes. Thor and Bruce are sturdy enough to take a bit of blasting, but you’re basically cannon fodder without your suit, Clint really should wear more protective clothing, and I have absolutely no idea how Natasha isn’t noticed more with the glowing strips on her costume.”
“No criticism of Steve?” Tony asked.
“Super soldier plus vibranium shield equals way less likely to die than you without a suit. Plus, Steve has something at least vaguely resembling common sense.”
“Ouch.” Tony clutched at his heart. “Your words cut deep.”
“Only because they’re true.” Averia’s lips twitched. “But, seriously, you guys are my friends. I worry because I care. Things will be easier once I’m in university and have an internship with Stark Industries.”
“What makes you think I’ll give you one?” Tony asked, grinning.
“Are you saying you won’t?” Averia shot back.
“Heh. Pepper would be mad if I didn’t. Plus, having you around adds an extra layer of security. You know, nigh-invincible harbinger of shiny death that you are. Also, I’ve read those papers you wrote for me to review. Even if you weren’t part of the team, I’d still try to hire you the second it was legal. That design for a micro fusion-reactor is insane. JARVIS gives it a 95% probability of working as intended.”
“It’ll work.” Averia knew that for a fact. It was, after all, based heavily on the micro fusion reactors that Diana had designed. “And the world could use a little help on the energy front. The arc reactor is a brilliant design, but for everyday energy needs, fusion should do just fine. Anti-matter would be more powerful, but I’d rather not have those around until we can guarantee their security.”
Tony leaned forward. “You have a design for an anti-matter reactor in that head of yours?”
“I might.”
Bruce cleared his throat. “As wonderful as that is - and it is wonderful - there is a party going on. People are going to ask questions if we don’t show up. And by questions, I think they’ll be wondering what sort of evil plan we’re coming up with.”
“Ah!” Thor greeted Averia with a hearty laugh and reached out to clasp arms with her. His smiled widened when she returned his grip without flinching. “Nice of you to join us. It’s a shame you couldn’t come on our last mission. It was quite fun. Plenty of evil to smite.”
“Alas, Thor, I have school.” Averia bit back a chuckle at the big man’s enthusiasm. “Which means disappearing for a few days at a time isn’t always possible.”
“Ah, yes. School.” Thor nodded sagely. “How does that work here?”
“It involves a great deal less combat than you’re probably thinking. Well, physical combat. Social combat is all the rage in high school.” Averia smiled. “Although... if that invitation to Asgard is still open, I can probably arrange a week away during the next school holidays.” It shouldn’t be too hard to invent an excuse. Perhaps a Stark Industries Student Camp or something? Pepper was always happy to help in exchange for Averia keeping an eye on Tony during missions, so he didn’t do anything insane like grab a nuclear weapon again.
“A week? Yes. Something could certainly be arranged.” Thor downed his drink with one big swig. “I will speak to my father. There are a great many monsters and enemies we can smite!” He paused. “Have you ever fought a dragon?”
Averia nodded. “Yes.”
“Bullshit,” Tony said. “You have not fought a dragon.”
Averia had, in fact, fought multiple dragons... in her previous life and her current one. “Magic is real, Tony. Believe me. I can see it.” There was a certain house that she’d have to pay a visit to, if only because she wanted to make her stance on certain matters clear.
“Where do you usually aim first?” Thor asked thoughtfully. “I myself prefer to go for the head.”
“I suppose it depends on the dragon. If the dragon is slow enough, then a strike to the head that kills it outright is ideal. However, if it’s too quick, you might have to deal with its wings or limbs first to slow it down.”
Tony shook his head. “We’re having a party, and you two are talking about how to kill a dragon.”
“Killing a dragon would make for an excellent party,” Thor replied.
“I agree.’ Averia snickered at Tony’s aghast expression. “But be mindful of the blood.”
“Aye,” Thor said. “Their blood is usually like molten rock. Not a threat to you or I, but Tony here would be ashes without his armour.”
“That is true, but I still feel insulted,” Tony said. “But seriously, magic? So... there are like wizards and stuff just wandering around?”
“More than you think.” Averia hummed thoughtfully. “I’ll tell you what. I plan on meeting with them soon to discuss several... issues. I can bring you with me if you want.”
“Meet actual wizards?” Tony’s eyes gleamed. “Sure. I’m in. Give me a call the day before, okay?”
“Sure.”
Averia watched with amusement as her fellow Avengers tried to lift Thor’s hammer. Saviour allowed her to perceive and understand the limitations on the weapon, and the only one who really stood a chance was Steve. After Steve had threatened to budge the hammer - Thor looked a bit panicked by that - the others had turned to her.
“Nope.” Averia shook her head. “I don’t need any extra weapons.”
“You don’t think you’re worthy?” Thor asked with genuine curiosity.
“It’s not a matter of worthiness,” Averia said. “It would be cheating.”
“Oh?” Tony asked.
“Saviour’s... negation fields, I suppose you could call them, would most likely allow me to lift the hammer regardless of my worthiness. Also...” She gestured, and space warped in a way that made the hammer seem to lift off the table before it returned to its spot. “Stuff like that works too.”
“Wait.” Tony covered his face with his hands. “You can warp space? Why don’t you do that more often?”
“Because it’s usually inefficient for what I want to do.” Averia shrugged. “Teleportation? Why warp space when I can simply choose the coordinates I want to be at and be there? Homing projectiles? Warping space is, admittedly, more useful there, but why not just conceptually link the projectiles to their target, so they basically can never miss?” She paused. “Although I will say that rending space is a very, very useful ability to have. It can bypass most forms of physical durability and strike at higher dimensions.”
“Fuck.” Tony laughed. “I need a stronger drink.” He gave her a petulant pout. “One of these days, we have to get you into a lab to see what you can really do.”
“I sincerely hope you never, ever have to find out what I can do at full strength because that will, as they say, mean that the world has gone to shit.”
“Language,” Steve said. The others looked at him. “Hey, she is younger than us.”
Averia sighed dramatically. “Alas, my foul language can be attributed to Tony. He’s a bad influence.”
“Way to throw me under the bus, kid.” Tony laughed. “Did you know that Steve actually called me out for swearing during our mission.”
The blond man groaned. “Tony...”
“Wait, really?” Averia raised one eyebrow. “While you were fighting?”
“Oh, yeah.”
“Tell me more.”
Averia stayed a bit longer, if only to watch Bruce’s awkward attempts to deal with Natasha’s flirting. Connecting with people her own age had been hard. They just... didn’t have the same sort of experiences as her. She still had friends, but not nearly as many as people believed. Peter, of course, was different. He was her brother. The Avengers, though, they understood.
“You need a ride home?” Tony asked.
Averia stepped out onto the balcony. “No. I think I’ll be fine.”
Tony watched her race up into the sky. “Show off.”

Love Sees All Things (Loki x Female Reader) Part 4 of the Love Series

Series Masterlist
Part 4
Love Sees All Things
Before he realized it, Loki stopped at the side of the lake after wondering aimlessly through the gardens. He couldn’t even recall how he had ended up there after leaving his brother’s side of the palace. Everything felt so overwhelming right now and no matter how hard he tried, he didn’t seem able to process the news he had just received.
He was going to be a father.
Staring out upon the lake, he couldn’t figure out how this had happened. As painful as it was, he replayed his memories of your night together, desperately searching for the moment he was looking for, only to find it absent.
The contraceptive spell.
The most important part of bringing a woman into his bed with him. In all of his years, he had remained extremely careful to avoid this situation. When he learned he could use seidr to prevent such a mistake, he often indulged in enjoying his pleasure to the fullest and didn’t give much thought to where he found his release, as long as he was satisfied. After longing for you for so long, he knew going into that night that there was no possible chance he would hold back now that he had the woman he loved in his bed.
The sound of approaching footsteps caused him to reach up and quickly wipe away the tears that he felt on his cheeks, and he turned to find himself standing face-to-face with his brother. The sympathetic expression on his face was enough for him to lower his guard once he realized he wasn’t angry with him at the situation they had found themselves in at the present time.
“My apologies for earlier, brother. I hope you aren’t upset with me for removing you from our chambers. I simply didn’t want to bring further pain to Lady Y/N in her current condition.”
Loki shook his head before turning to face the waters behind him.
“There’s no need to apologize, Thor. I understand. My presence is certainly not welcomed by her at this time. I can’t say that I blame her either… I assume that she told you everything based on your lack of confusion at the most recent events?”
Out of the corner of his eye, Loki watched him turn to face the lake as well before crossing his arms on his chest.
“She did…”
The silence between them was broken by Loki’s quivering voice, barely audible over the tide.
“E-exactly how much has she told you, brother?”
Thor took a deep breath and watched the water in front of them crash against the shoreline.
“On the night of our wedding, after we returned to my chambers from the feast, I had planned to speak with Y/N and let her know that I didn’t hold any expectations and acknowledge that I understood that this was never something she wanted. Before I had the chance to do that, she started sobbing and locked herself in the bathroom. It took me nearly an hour to get her to calm down enough to listen to me. As we sat on the cold marble on opposite sides of the door, I convinced her to talk to me and tell me what had upset her. At first, I thought I had done something and wanted more than anything to fix whatever misunderstanding I had caused. I swore an eternity passed before she finally opened the door and joined me in the shared space once more.
This marriage was never something she nor I wanted, but over the years, I have grown to consider Y/N a close friend. Obviously, she and I don’t have the same friendship that developed between the two of you. From the first day she arrived in Asgard, the two of you had a special connection that I shall never have with her, Loki. That is why I wasn’t surprised when she told me of the previous night’s events and what had transpired. I hadn’t suspected that you had cast an illusion to take your place by my side at our wedding, but then again, I’ve never been one to see through your tricks, brother.”
Loki glanced over at Thor when he paused and kicked at a rock while gathering his thoughts to continue.
“It was nearly halfway through our trip that I began to suspect that she may have been with child and spoke to her about it one evening after she fell ill after dinner. I wasn’t sure if she avoided the subject out of shame or fear, but it finally took a trip to the healer’s yesterday morning to convince her what I had already known. While she had been willing to share a bed with me after our long talk that first night together, I knew it would be quite some time before she felt comfortable enough to share her body with me as well. I think her knowing that there was no chance that the baby was of my blood brought her further distress on the matter. Over the last few days, she has finally started to let me into her thoughts once the pregnancy was confirmed. Loki, Lady Y/N is afraid that harm will come to her should she go through with things.”
The choice of words caught his attention and he turned to face him.
“Go through with things? Thor, you can’t be implying that she… s-she can’t be considering… but… our child… How would harm come to her? Everyone will simply believe that the child is yours… unless you aren’t willing to do that… I mean, I understand your hesitance when the child is not a true heir. Gods, I have certainly ruined things this time, Thor! I should have just sent her away and continued to ignore my feelings like I had all these years. I should have put my wants aside and just allowed you to have her like it was always meant to be. All I had to do was simply say no and fulfill my duty to you both that day and I would have never broken her heart or placed her in this situation. ”
In an attempt to calm him, he grabbed his shoulders and looked him in the eye.
“Loki, I assure you, I have every intention to do what is in my power to protect both her and this child, but she made a very valid point. She is worried that once the baby arrives, there stands a strong chance of her secret being revealed. Brother, it’s very likely that this child will not be born with the golden hair handed down by our family’s blood. How will it look if an heir is born with raven locks and porcelain skin? Do you truly expect the people of Asgard to believe that the child is simply the first in generations to not resemble myself, Frigga, or Odin? If the truth of your heritage wasn’t common knowledge now, there might be a chance to pass the child off as my own. It’s because of this that she is truly afraid of what outcome would befall both her and the child. She is afraid that she will be cast out with nothing, or even worse, meet a crueler fate…”
The thought of any threat toward you or the child you had created together sent Loki into a rage. He had to keep his fists clinched to his side to prevent an outburst of his powers that swirled within him.
“I would never let Odin lay a finger on her! If she were to be cast out for her crime against the throne, I would gladly stand by her side and do everything in my power to provide for them both on whatever realm she were to be exiled to without a second thought.”
Taking a moment to calm himself and organize his thoughts, he turned to face his brother and let out an unsteady breath as he swallowed his pride.
“Thor, I will never be able to express how incredibly remorseful I am for putting our family in this position. I’ve been nothing but a disgrace to my title and you certainly deserve a better brother than you were given. She certainly deserves better, that’s for sure. I was careless. I was selfish. I was even so focused on convincing her to runaway with me that I neglected to cast the spell to prevent this mess in the first place. As if that wasn’t enough, I broke my promise to her and let her down in every way I could have that day. Now she’s in a marriage she never wanted, carrying a child by the one that broke her heart, with her entire future on the line… and it’s all because I was a coward.”
The two of them stood in a comfortable silence for a long while. Loki had just begun to get lost in his thoughts once again when Thor’s voice interrupted his torturous loop of the pain on your face when you looked at him now.
“I want to make one thing clear to you, Loki.”
Hearing the serious tone in his voice, he grew quite nervous and tried to hide the anxiety that graced his features as she took in the sight of his brother’s distant look and tensed jaw.
“I’m well aware that the two of you have always been close, but you must respect that I am her husband. I took vows to honor and cherish her and protect her with my life. The happiness of our princess is my responsibility now and it’s something I take very seriously. When she told me that she had confessed that she loved you, I was surprised that you hadn’t said those important words back to her, because we both know you have been madly in love with her for years. While I hold love for her in my heart, it is no where near the depths of what the two of you share. I’ve always been content with the friendship she and I have, but over these last few weeks, I’ve become the person she turns to now, and I need you to be alright with that, Loki.”
Loki felt the tears returning to his eyes as the memories flooded back of all the times you had confided in him and turned to him with all of your thoughts and feelings, no matter how strong or fleeting they might be. More than anything, he missed those moments together and felt jealousy towards Thor that he got that opportunity now.
“With that being said, I truly wish that she would reconsider your absence in her life, because the three of us need to be on the same page if we are going to figure out how to begin to untangle this mess we find ourselves in.”
His head whipped towards his brother in confusion at the turn his words had taken. When his mouth hung agape in shock and he remained speechless, Thor continued.
“Do you truly think so little of me that I would desire to steal away the woman that holds your heart? She may have been betrothed to me by arrangement, but I’ve always known that I was never what she wanted. That doesn’t mean I don’t intend to put her best interests above my own, and because of that, I know in my heart that she needs you. Even though she is still in too much pain to see it right now, that woman needs you in order to be herself, brother. I just ask that you give her some space right now to come to terms with all of this and trust that I am taking care of both her and your child. It may take some time, but I truly believe that she will come around to the idea of allowing you repair the damage you’ve done, Loki.”

We Are - Tony Stark/Steve Rogers - Omegaverse
Part two of Tony’s Pack
——
Two weeks had passed, Steve had gone back to his trip after claiming Tony to finish his job but returned shortly after. Tony was laying on the couch in the common rooms when Steve stepped in with a smile, he had a bowl of strawberries for Tony that he kindly sprinkled sugar on. Tony smiled wide eyed as he began to devour the precious fruit with vigor. Steve chuckled watching his mate happily enjoy the gift.
“Tony, I wanted to ask you something.”
“Anything Alpha.” Tony replied softly.
“Do we need to go public with our bond before you’re showing? Your scent will begin to change. I know this may be a more… well a my time thing, but isn’t it customary for bond mates to come forward? I mean you’re one of the most famous men in the world, one of the most popular omegas around. I really would like people to know you’re mated to me.”
Tony murmured.
Coming out as an omega was harder than saying that he, Tony Stark, was Iron Man. He had hidden his second gender as long as he could. Suppressant upon suppressant. Drinking himself to near death, stenching of alcohol to hide his sweet sugary smell. “It would be good, probably better to come out as a bond couple before I show.. I wouldn’t want the bad publicity. I won’t be showing till four weeks.”
“Do you know you truly are pregnant?” Steve asked, nibbling on his neck lapping his healing bond bite.
That was when Jarvis’s voice appeared. “Sir’s hormone levels are higher than on heat and his regular vitals are not on par with his norm. Probability of pregnancy is 98.99%.”
“Thank’s Jarvis.” Cap smirked. “So we go public today? In what fashion?”
Tony smiled thinking hard about the many possible ways they could come forth as a mated couple. Everyone knew Tony Stark as a strong omega that didn’t fit the norms. Everyone also questioned who Tony would finally bond with, if Tony would ever bond with anyone.
Pepper Pott had been on the list but she was beta, it wasn’t uncommon for some omegas to have a beta as their main mate and took alpha’s as heat helpers. They were known as heat buddies.
Which was what he was trying to do with Loki. He didn’t think that Loki would have any way of getting him pregnant. So this was a bit of a shock. Usually he self soothed, but he needed someone extremely bad his last heat and now he knew why. His body was ready for a pup even if he hadn’t expected it. He genuinely was prepared now, he had thought hard enough about it once he had time to process what was going on and understood he would be okay. He had Steve Rogers’s as his mate, a man that would love him and care for him. Take care of his every need. Take care of his pups every need.
“Why don’t we have a nice dinner tonight?”
“Do I need to wear a suit?” Steve asked curiously.
“Sorry love, but it would be customary.” Tony smiled, licking his lips. “Mind if we get dessert after?”
“No ‘mega of course not. If it’s what you and puppy want.”
“Yeah… I would. Little one does.” Tony lied but didn’t lie, he felt a hunger for sweets and fruits much more than he ever had. Which Jarvis and Steve took notice of.
The other avengers were all over, visiting places that had been attacked or that they just wanted to. Tony had given everyone ‘fun’ money for vacations while he figured himself and his potential welp.
Steve smirked, kissing his omega carefully.
“Jarvis, two suits, one for each of us, and my nice black shoes. I want my suit to have a bit more of an open neck to expose the mark.”
“Right away Sir, anything else I can do?”
“Reservations for two at May’s, half an hour.”
“Of course sir.”
“Perfect. Alright my love, let’s get ready for our debut.” Tony smiled, kissing his cheek before bouncing to their shared room in the Tower. They stood together and began to undress and change into their suits. Steve helped Tony into his suit fixing his tie, it was red with blue and white lines which Steve couldn’t help but gush at. He kissed Tony lovingly.
“You look perfect.” Steve smiled, kissing him, he tilted his chin upward and Tony instinctively tilted his head to the side exposing their new bond mark. He smiled and licked his neck kissing the bond mark. “Come on now, let’s get going love. We need to let everyone know Tony Stark is now Tony Stark Rogers, and not only that, but the Avengers now have an alpha.”
Tony smirked. “Big headed alpha you are, aren’t ya? Being the prime alpha now?”
“We are a pack, it’s good to have a pack prime. Not that I am saying I don’t love following you, my omega. You will always be in charge. You are my mate, which makes you pack mother. Pack Omega. The only person who can make me change my mind about my actions.”
Tony smiled, he liked that power more than he liked to admit. He also knew being pregnant with a demi-god pup would take a lot out of him. Loki had offered to help in any way he could but they didn’t want anyone to know the pups true parentage unless it was needed.
Steve took his hand and led him out to their limo where Happy was waiting happily to drive them to their destination. They made their way together to the restaurant before stepping in, hand in hand. Everyone’s eyes grew wide watching Captain America and Iron Man walk towards a table. They sat down together and Tony began to order.
A steak for them each, a fruit salad for Tony and a regular salad for Steve. Tony looked over the drink menu, his eyes scanning everything. “Shit.” Tony whispered, but it was audible enough for his mate.
“What honey?” Steve asked carefully, the waitress was smiling big hoping to ask for an autograph.
“Nothing… just a moment. A strawberry lemonade for me, you Steve?”
Steve eyed Tony but realized exactly why he had frozen at the drink menu, Tony always ordered scotch. If he was pregnant he couldn’t drink. “Water with lemon please ma’am.”
“Course,” The little waitress smiled big watching them both before chirping and walking off to the kitchen to give their order. Tony smiled as the two sat across from one another, he could see people snapping pictures of them together. That was exactly what he wanted. The best press was oftentimes excited fans.
The little waitress returned with their drinks and respective salads. “I.. I know this is a lot to ask but would you mind signing this for me?”
Steve flashed his best smile while Tony nodded his sweet scent filled the room. A few female omegas were also dining, but their scents weren’t as strong as Tony’s. Steve wrote his name first on her little paper, Tony went next putting a little heart beside Steve’s name, which the young waitress had recorded. Once they finished the salads the young waitress returned with their main course.
Tony happily enjoyed his meal, Steve couldn’t help but smile, giving him a kiss every once in a while. Their lips met as a few patrons watched, a few bigger news crews were waiting for the new couple to leave the restaurant.
Once their main course was done the waitress giddily arrived back at their table. “Can we get either of you anything else?”
“A chocolate cake slice with strawberries.” Tony mused lickinghis lips at the idea. “Sliced strawberries please..”
“Just add a fork for me, miss.”
“Of course, I can do that.” She smiled rushing off once more before returning with the best slice of cake they had and fresh cut strawberries. Tony happily indulged in the cake, Steve didn’t eat much as he watched Tony with a big smile.
“You’re adorable when you get as giddy as a puppy.”
“Oh shush Rogers.”
Steve chuckled, caressing his cheek with a mumble. “Tony love, it really is cute.”
Tony smirked and finished eating making sure Steve got at least a little bit of sweet chocolate frosting with the juicy strawberries. They stood up together an headed towards the door, Tony took Steve’s hand in his own and nodded to him as they opened the door and the flashing of cameras were almost constant.
Steve was used to photos, but it was different. Having a mate was very different, he wanted to protect Tony from the camera men. But Tony always soaked in the attention.
Tony kept his head tilted ever so slightly to expose his neck. The healing bond mark to Steve was very apparent.
“So it’s official? You and Steve Rogers are a bond?”
Tony flashed his best smile. “We’ve officially bonded yes, but Steve here in his traditional understanding of how mates work has been courting me for what feels like forever.”
Steve chuckled which bellowed through the crowd. “I just needed to make sure he knew I was really courting. Between pack mates affection and love is common, but I needed Tony to know I really was courting, that I wanted to be his bond.”
The crowd genuinely was oooing and awwing as Tony exposed the bite more. “Seems to be nearly healed! How old is the bite? Why didn’t you come public sooner?”
“I’m a celebrity, as is Steve, as you can all see the moment we step out people gawk and take photos. We wanted some time to ourselves, and my mate is a super soldier. Everything he does is bigger and better. We needed time to celebrate without the press, and time for this to heal over without it looking like a mess.”
People nodded as reporters wrote down notes vigorously. “Any pups in your future?” Someone yelled from the back.
Tony smiled and took Steve’s hand in his own. “We have decided not to make it so we can’t get pregnant, but I won’t be actively trying.” He lied. “So I may just be Tony Stark for awhile, can’t be Iron Man and put my pup in danger.”
People nodded and they anticipated a potential child between them. Which both of them already knew was happening, but it was easier to lie than tell the truth about his current potential pregnancy.
“So you’re pack alpha or the avengers now officially?”
“Correct, and my mate is and always will be the prime omega. Even if Tony is out of battle he is still in charge.”
People were chattering and excited for the couple. “Well now if you’ll excuse us we are going home.” Tony smiled, waving to the crowd. Steve helped Tony into the limo waving to the press as they slipped in. “I think that went very well.”
“I can agree.” Steve smirked kissing Tony lovingly. “Good cover with the pup.” He smiled placing a hand on his still flat belly.
Happy looked over the two from the rear view mirror. “Wait are you two expecting?”
Tony looked up at Happy. “Uh well uh.. we.. we don’t know. Not yet anyway but Jarvis thinks we are…”
“That’s amazing! Uncle Happy, yeah that sounds great. Promise Sir I won’t tell a soul.”
“Good,” Tony smiled thinking about raising a pup with the avengers as its family. The people who would love them, the people who would care for it and call themselves aunt and uncle.
Thor, Loki, Clint, Bucky, Natasha, Sam, Bruce, Stephen, Peper. Even T’Challa who felt worlds away, he recently had a little sister she was only a few months.
Family that wasn’t really family but felt closer than blood, family that was literally across the galaxy they would all love his little one.
Steve helped Tony into their home. “Jarvis, our penthouse.”
“Right away sir.”
Steve smiled kissing his forehead and cuddled into bed with him. “Jarvis, tell us how is the news?”
“Your bond is a buzz.” Jarvis replied. “Every news crew big and small is speaking about it. Not a single bad review. A few people are curious how long this fling as been going and if it was ever around while Sir and Miss Potts were seeing one another but it is clear from Pepper replying to a picture of you two on Twitter she is happy for you.”
Tony nuzzled into Steve as Steve hummed to him softly. “We will know soon if you’re pregnant Tony. Then we can tell our family first.”
Tony nodded before cuddling closer to Steve who held him close. He looked around the room with a smile, pictures of them and their little group. A few stuffed animals because no omega can deny them no matter how tough they feel they are.
Tony fell asleep shortly, which wasn’t his norm. He usually stayed up for hours in the lab.
This was another reason why Steve was positive he was pregnant.
Steve didn’t know if with his serum he could be a father and so he was happy, even if Loki was the cause. Loki was different, and technically once a threat. But he was good now, and their pup would be fine.
Steve kept Tony close, his mate, his love. His life.
Tony nuzzled into his scent glands which kept him calm.
Another week passed, they were seen in public more, and Tony kept a close eye on his vitals and hormones. He was alone in the lab when Jarvis started up again. “Sir, your scent has changed. No longer that of Cream Soda but Vanilla Coke.”
Tony purred, his hand quickly dropped to his belly. “My vitals?”
“Excellent.”
“Hormones?”
“For a pregnant omega, exactly how it should be. Shall I inform Cap?”
“Have him paged, tell him I need him in the lab.”
“Right away Sir.”
Steve made his way down to Tony’s lab the moment he was called. Stepping into the room he couldn’t fully recognize the scent. Until it dawned on him. Omegas when pregnant smelt vanilla-esk. Some only smelt of vanilla while others scents changed to add the vanilla in.
Steve looked up to see Tony standing in the lab, his eyes full of tears. “Baby?”
“I’m happy Steve.” Tony promised. “We are going to have a little family, Jarvis has some news.”
“According to my count, the pup has both DNA from you Cap, and from the god Loki. The venom bite and bonding ritual you did allowed for your cells to still create the life growing inside Tony.” Jarvis chimed.
Steve froze.
Venom bonds, or bonds alphas made to their true mates, pumped their dna into their bond mate. He didn’t think it would affect a fetus, but it had. “You mean this puppy isn’t just Loki’s biologically?”
“Correct Cap, also your own.” Jarvis buzzed.
Steve felt the tears flow, he scooped Tony up and spun him around. “I’m so happy, fuck Tony we are having a puppy.”
“Our entire pack is home, I think we should tell them before they notice the scent change. First I think we need to tell Loki.”
Steve nodded, kissing Tony desperately. “Jarvis, please send Loki down.”
Loki was in his room looking over his elaborate wall paper and chandelier when Jarvis beeped into his room. “Mr. Loki, Sir and Cap have requested you in the lab.”
Loki looked up and smirked. “I’ll be there.”
He made his way down towards the Lab hearing laughter and Steve barking in pure happiness. He opened the door. “Hello?”
“Loki,” Tony smiled.
Loki scented the air, his eyes got big.
Vanilla.
“You really did catch!” Loki exclaimed in surprise. “Oh Tony…”
“I’m happy Loki, really, and Jarvis was looking over blood work I did with Bruce who doesn’t know yet just told him I needed to do a check up. Steve’s venom bond and our well night after seems to have split the pups cells. They are both yours and Steve’s. I need to know what you want me to do. Do I tell the pack you’re the father too?”
Loki eyed him. “I… I think we wait.”
“Are you sure?”
“I still haven’t been cleared in the eyes of the public. No pup should live knowing their parent tried to destroy the world, and even attempt to kill their other parents and family. I was wrong and I know it. I’ve been doing my best to redeem myself but not everyone sees any improvement. So we should wait unless something arrisses. And generally speaking, demi-gods are safer when their parentage isn’t revealed to the whole world.”
“So we keep it from everyone?” Tony asked to make sure. “Even our pack?”
Loki thought hard before he looked over the two mates. “Yes.”
“Your brother?”
“Not now, I’ll come up with a way to tell him. He struggles with this world more than I. Theoretically this pup will be a prince or princess in our world. With my father as the king and ruler of our people. It is safer if we don’t tell anyone.”
They nodded understanding. “The pup will always be yours as much as mine.” Steve replied. “We won’t ever deny you access unless you try and destroy the world again.”
“Thank you.” Loki said, running his hand through his dark black hair. “I’m happy for you both. I'm excited to be a father. You smell wonderful Tony.”
Tony grinned and nodded to his pack mate. “Well then, Jarvis call a pack meeting, ten minutes.”
“Right away Sir.”
“Thank you Jarvis.” Steve muttered.
Jarvis hummed. “Of course Cap.”
Loki left first and let the couple leave together, everyone was sitting together awaiting their pack prime and pack omega.
Steve’s scent was strong. It masked Tony’s as he wrapped his arm around his mate's shoulder. “So,” Cling began, “other than your bond. What is this big meeting about?”
Natasha slapped him upside the head. She was an omega, but her womb had been taken when she was young. She was Tony’s confidant.
“Well, I.. I’m pregnant.” Tony said stepped out from Steve’s protective arms. “We are having a puppy.”
Everyone’s eyes got big. “Real?” Bucky asked, looking over at Steve with excitement.
“Real.” Steve promised. That was when everyone could smell Tony’s scent change.
“Vanilla Coke is a jump from cream soda.” Bucky smirked. “It’s a good smell on you.”
Tony smiled, thanking him with a nod. “You’re going to become large?” Thor questioned.
“He is growing my pup inside him.” Steve replied. “So yes, theoretically.”
“A puppy would be good for our pack.” Bruce remarked. “Is it going to be super?”
“Yes,” Jarvis replied. “A high chance.”
“How high?” Natasha questioned.
“85%.” Jarvis remarked. “Very likely.”
Steve smirked and nibbled on Tony’s neck a bit. “So what does this mean for the pack?” Sam questioned, raising an eyebrow as Clint and Bucky tossed a wad of paper back and forth.
“I will need to stay back from fights, but I’ll keep working in the lab. Making our tech. I mean my money helps run this place even with Furry.”
“I suppose that’s true.”
“I’m still law, as the pack omega. My mate is our leader. If you need anything just ask me, if you need help just call for me.”
“You are one good pack mother.” Natasha smiled. “Thank you Tony.”
“Always going to be your pack mother. This puppy needs their family, their pack. I don’t expect you all to puppy-sit and be uncles and aunts if you don’t want to. I just am planning on raising the puppy here. Give them their own room eventually.”
They smiled and nodded enthusiastically. “We want to help you with this puppy. They’re our family now too.”
“Thank you.” Tony smiled.
“I’ll sing them Asgardian lullabies.” Loki promised.
The group smiled thinking about the future of the pup and themselves. “Do you know the gender yet?” Bucky asked.
“Gender won’t be detected for another two weeks.”
Jarvis chirped. “However, Tony has been particula to sweets and fruit. Second gender is possibly omegan.”
Tony’s eyes got wide, being an omega wasn’t exactly easy. They had to go through a lot of loopholes to get Tony in the Avengers in the first place. Alphas were touchy and dangerous if they weren’t part of the pack.
“Omega.” Steve smirked. “Maybe they’ll be special like you darlin and they’ll be male.”
Tony didn’t know if it was worse or better. But he was going to do whatever he could to protect their puppy.
“No matter what happens. We are here too.” The others said. The pack was a good family, and it would continue to be.
Tony was happy to raise a pup here, with these people as his family. As his pack.

Okay, this is gettin’ real screwed up here.
I watch a lot of TV. Probably too much. And I’ve seen characters beaten to their knees before, sometimes even with collars. And yeah, there’s usually someone standing over them, and it’s been a woman sometimes. The kind of scene we got in episode 5 of Loki is not new ground.
But here’s the thing. In EVERY OTHER SCENE I can remember like this, the person kneeling is the hero. They’ve been brought down, fully humbled before the sneering villain, and in a few minutes something will happen to get them back on their feet again. It’s usually a tense moment, a “what if they break?” that makes you want the hero to win. You aren’t rooting for, or even liking in some cases, the person standing. You’re cheering for the person on their knees.
This doesn’t seem to be the case with the Loki show. Yes, the viewers may be rooting for Loki, but there’s no hatred for Sif there. She’s not proved herself to be a cold, heartless villain, ruthlessly pounding the hero until all he can do is kneel at her feet.
Except…she did kind of do that. But it isn’t treated as something bad. It’s treated more as something Loki deserved, in my opinion. The show wants us to feel like he deserved to get repeatedly beaten up and told horrible things, just for cutting off a lock of Sif’s hair. I’ll grant, it’s peanuts compared to what happened to him in the mythology. But it’s still bad. Especially since they had him acknowledge it, repeat her cruel words back. They’re playing it off as if Loki is still the villain by himself, and is only good because of other people- Mobius, mostly, but Sif is part of that.
That’s not the way Loki’s character is. In the comics particularly, his biggest arcs are always about reinventing the labels given to him, changing “villain” into something good, something he can use, and doing it by himself. Yes, there’s outside influence, but ultimately Loki is the one who decided to change.
The show is not letting him do that. The show is portraying him as a stubborn jackass who refuses to change until other people show him the light- either with psychological torture presented as therapy, or with beating him up a bunch of times until he gives in. The show and its characters are forcing Loki to become good- they aren’t showing him doing it by himself. He is not becoming one of the good guys, he’s being essentially enslaved by them, and the show is passing it off as somehow all that good influence finally rubbed off on Loki’s cold, villainous heart. That’s why him betraying Mobius was shown as so bad even though Loki barely knew him and had been psychologically tortured by him- Mobius is written as a character who can choose to be good, and Loki is written as a character who must be forced to be good.
And something about an entire show revolving around an independent character being treated as a villain, literally enslaved by the “good guys” (back when the show still wanted us to think the TVA weren’t shady as all hell), beaten to his knees with a collar around his neck until he accepts that he deserves to be alone because he isn’t “good” like everybody else…that doesn’t go down right for me.
The TVA being presented in not just a neutral but often reliable light is something I thought would change once Loki literally called out their propaganda and Sylvie called them fascists, but, for some reason the authoritarian genocidalists are not being presented as a bad thing and it irks me too.
It's especially weird because of the way what Loki claims to have wanted by making choices for people and what Mobius claims the TVA do ARE THE EXACT SAME THINGS, except Loki, until the show, hadn't done that of his own volition and was being tortured during the invasion and is treated terribly for something he didn't even succeed in doing, while the TVA successfully erase events on a mass scale but are presented as having a higher (or at best, - equal) moral ground.
The exact same thing was done in Ragnarok where Loki's "turning point" from a tricksy villainous scoundrel happened because Thor left him frying on the ground and gave him a pep talk filled with lies and general slander about how he could be better - and people see that as good because Thor is framed as a hero, and it's because instead of accepting Loki is a complex character they take what the narrative tells at face value and that is that Loki fights the protagonist(s) so he's bad.
I personally don't like the narrative pushing a character that is canonically an abuse victim and attempted suicide and was tortured right after as someone who needs fixing because he's lusting for power and needs it to gain a sense of control during a retcon which is occurring for the sake of calling him a complete bad guy who needs to change (probably because no actual original character development could be thought of?) after he was just confirmed as queer and colloquially (i assume) called a narcissist because of twisted love.
That he deserves to be alone was presented neutrally as a joke even as he was repeatedly getting beaten to the ground, and then both people he could call friends were removed from his immediate vicinity right after.
Loki isn't being presented as a character that has done a huge mix of good and bad in the movies, he's being presented as an oft incompetent idiot that deserves what he gets because he shouldn't have run away from captors, or he cut Sif's hair, or he killed his mother, or he dared to think he had any importance or could do something good, because the truth is he's an evil lying scourge.
"But maybe," Mobius says, "Maybe he wants to mix it up. Sometimes you get tired of playing the same part. Is that possible? He can change?" And everyone's already forgotten that moments before the mission Mobius said to Loki's face that the TVA has pruned a lot of Loki variants because he's so nice! look! he has hope in him when no one else does! It's also easy to forget the "and hey, if it doesn't work, I'll delete him myself," right after because the guy was smiling through it and the scene is followed by Loki really badly trying to explain the logic of being a trickster who everyone knows is a trickster.
A lot of people payed more attention in Ragnarok than to the other Thor movies so it's not a new retcon and people seem fine with the extremely strange take that 'loki is bad but he can do good sometimes,' because the character is more animated and acts foolish and that's generally more fun for comedy, which is fair for people to prefer imo, people find different things entertaining.
But I do solidly hope the show doesn't go that way though and takes a side with Loki on the narrative stance eventually because I've seen a lot of people who just. miss that the TVA's concept is bad. And those who think they're "reforming" Loki. As if the guy needs anything but a break at this point lmao he only got away from Thanos like 2 days ago please just let him rest for a bit he's a fail villain and it's cringe to have your supposed 1st open queer character get beaten to a pulp by Sif and then put wack sexualizing shots for it too :/
it's like the show itself is trying to sell the angle of "Loki is a villain" and I'm a clown who is still wanting that to be intentional because if it is? It could be amazing and playing with how different parties are framed would be s p e c t a cu l ar and could encourage people to reassess the hero coding in other movies including ones Loki was previously in - but we're reaching the last two episodes and I don't feel like that'll happen.
I feel like even if Loki does reach the end of the show as a transformed person it'll be done leaving the audience with "perhaps you're not so bad after all, Loki," and then also give credit to Mobius or Sylvie or whoever else was involved, simply because as even of yet Loki hasn't taken on a lead role in the show. I'd argue he hasn't really contributed anything worthwhile to plot either. As you've said, he's being shown as someone who needs to change but isn't really motivated to. Aw man they better not make romantic love the reason he wants to change.
#no because they're framing things that are humiliating or demeaning as *casual*#I don't even care if they wanted fanservice in the show did it have to be THAT type???#of course it did they don't take the character seriously or consider what they're doing with him despite his legitimate grievances#in a show where Loki's had literally no influence on the main plot but delaying it for the entirety of the Lamentis episode#if i was worse this is where i'd theorize about how Loki isn't a typical 'strong' hero and threatens the fragile masculine ideals of some#like........marvel the F*CK kind of message is this meant to send after Thanos throwing Gamora off a cliff was 'love' and Odin was 'strong'#they've made Loki be embarrassingly bad in fights too and what's up with that?????#''no look he's powerful see he just reversed time on an entire building on his own!!! now watch 2 guards hold him back <3''#bro 2 guards aren't enough if loki wants to escape what movies were you watching bro#you want me to believe this is the guy that went toe to toe with thor and tie-lost because he had tears blurring his vision????#nice try mcu im onto you your writing sucks#the Loki show#loki spoilers#loki show spoilers#im still reeling from Sylvie's backstory of BITING AND RUNNING and that she left the door to the TVA open for so long accidentally??????#im enjoying the show but i'm not going to say it's a good show or even that I see Loki as in-character#he CAN CANONICALLY TELEPORT WHY THE FR*CK WERE THEY SITTING AND WATCHING LAMENTIS BLOW UP#he BROKE the tempad - their ONLY WAY OFF THE PLANET - which was stored in a POCKET DIMENSION - by falling TOO HARD ?????#EXCUSE ME????#put some effort into the story you're trying to sell marvel#the logic with the timelines???? makes NO SENSE??????#the TVA either has no clue what they're doing or the multiverse literally already exists and the sacred timeline continues to be lies#i want to strange Marvel#the entire thing is so entertaining though so im definitely enjoying#ThisPostIsLongerThanMyLifeSpan#TPILTMLS

Hey, I’m a sucker for “broken” people with all the feels. Can I please request some hcs where Loki, Zemo and Homelander realize they are in love with the reader and nervously tell her how they feel? 👀 🙏🏼
Hi! I hope you like this love, these annoying bois are 10/10 in my book (yes even homelander lol).
Tumblr media
- Loki realized he was in love with you when you were put into danger
- when he thought you may be dead and he would never again get to annoy you, relate to you, or be with you....it seemed so clear that he was in love with you
- when you came back from that mission you were a little out of it from being in a near death situation but he couldn't wait any longer
- he was nervous; he didn't like being vulnerable and you could feel a completely different way
- but he had to tell you
- he said it in many words, confusing you at first
- you had to ask for clarification which made him annoyed
- "Don't make me say it again"
- then you realized what he was trying to tell you and your heart swelled because that was exactly what you wanted to hear
- you told him you loved him too
- he just about fell over in relief and put his hands on your arms
- he wasn't sure if he should hug you or anything so you kissed him
- "Bold of you, kissing a God" he commented but secretly he was bursting of happiness
- (it showed on his face)
Tumblr media
- Zemo knew what love felt like because he had loved his wife
- he never thought he would love again after her death and then you came along
- it terrified him to the bone
- he may have known what love was like but even more so he knew what losing a love was like; he wasn't sure if he could bare losing you
- he realized he loved you when you broke him out of jail with Bucky
- you had visited him a couple of times, singing his praises for being strong enough to break apart the Avengers and bringing him books to read
- he never knew why you came, supposedly the Avengers had been your friends
- so when he broke out he knew he couldn't let you leave him
- he told you while Sam and Bucky were sleeping at Sharons place
- you were both awake and looking out a window
- he was not graceful with it, his words got tangled in metaphors and nerves but you got the gist
- you told him you loved him as well (in much shorter sentences)
- you didn't need to do anything after that
- you just sat in silence together, nursing some drinks, in peace for the first time in a long time
Tumblr media
- Homelander hated that he loved you
- it was a weakness he did not need
- but at the same time, he was utterly and depressingly lonely
- maybe he needed a person who wasn't scared of him that actually knew him and you were both
- he realized it when you were helping him one afternoon
- he never let anyone help him and yet here you were, fixing his cape and telling him to drink more water
- he had to sit for a while and worry about that emotion before he told you
- and he did tell you, very quickly and then left before you could give him any other answer
- you were left there in the dust to realize that he actually did love you
- you quickly followed him and found him on the rooftop of the building where you told him you loved him too
- he acted like that was what he didn't want to hear but oh how relived he was
- it took him some time to get around to the idea but then he wouldn't leave your side, he was excited to get back to you, he kissed you and whined at you endlessly
- he finally had a person

“Y/n for once can you not make noise this early in the morning.” Peter whined as he made his way into the kitchen.
“Not my fault you’re not a morning person.” You replied and set pancakes into a plate for him.
“What time did you even sleep last night? I passed out halfway through the movie.” He yawned and grabbed a fork to start eating the pancakes.
“Bold of you to assume I slept.” You grinned and drank the coffee you made.
Peter rolled his eyes and continued eating.
“What’s with the ruckus so early in the morning?” Your father came in yawning.
“Thank you, see even Tony knows it’s too early.” Peter pointed his fork towards Tony with a mouthful of pancakes.
“Slow down Pete, the pancakes aren’t running away.” You chuckle and turn to your father.
“I stayed up working on some stuff in your workshop. I broke a few windows in the process, so… yeah.” You smiled sheepishly as your father scowled at you.
“What exactly were you working on?” He asked suspiciously.
“A new suit.” You said softly.
Tony sighed and closed his eyes for a brief moment, “How many times do I have to tell you that you can’t make a suit for yourself?”
Your father was adamant on you not getting a suit. Yes, he maybe iron man, but that title came with dangerous responsibilities.
You rolled your eyes at his question.
“The same amount of times mum tells you to go to bed when Uncle Bruce is around.” Your snarky reply has Tony narrowing his eyes at you.
“Sometimes I regret how much you are like me. But my decision is final, no suit. Now, I need you to let staff know to set up two rooms, we have visitors that are going to be staying a while.” He told you as he went to make himself some coffee.
“Who’s the visitors?” As far as you knew there weren’t going to be anyone coming to stay.
Steve and Nat lived off the compound, Wanda and Vision settled in an apartment in New York, and Sam and Bucky lived on the floor below where you, Peter, Bruce and your parents stayed.
“Thor is arriving in about an hour, and he’s bringing Loki. Now while I may like having this floor be empty. Loki is going to stay here and help Bruce and I with some stuff we found just outside New York. It’s some dark magic, and who better to ask than the god of mischief himself.” You father said taking a sip of his rather strong coffee.
“Loki is coming? Haven’t seen him a while.” You say uninterested, but on the inside your heart was beating fast at the mention of his name.
The first and last time you saw him was rather pleasant, you both became friends quite fast, much to everyone’s surprise and somewhere down the line, you took a liking to him as did he.
Wanda knew all about it, she could easily tell just by taking a look into your mind. You made her promise not to tell anyone, but it seemed that everyone pretty much knew.
“But wait did you say something about dark magic?” You perked up in interest.
“Nope not this time. I have a different task for you and Peter.” The smile he was giving you was exciting yet frightening.
Tumblr media
You and Peter were clearing out a spare room to work on this task your dad had given you both.
“Why do we have to do this again? Tony could have gotten staff members to do this.” Peter sneezed as he moved a cloth off a big table.
“It’s punishment for me, although I’m not sure why he’s making you do this too.” You stated and moved a few boxes off another big table.
The room was void of any other furniture besides these two big tables and a few boxes with god knows what in it.
The task that your father had given you and Peter was to design a prototype of a possible design for a new tower. Seeing as everyone was living at the compound just outside of New York. A new design was needed for the tower in New York since it was under construction.
“I can guess why.” You heard Peter mumble. You were about to question what he meant, but was interrupted by two demigods, walking into the room.
“Y/n.” Thor’s voice echoed in the room as he made his way towards you with opened arms.
A big smile made it’s way onto your face and you embraced him as he lifted you off the ground and turned around with your face pretty much stuffed into his face.
“It’s a long time.” Your muffled voice said as he put you back on the ground.
“Way too long.” He agreed and looked down at you.
Thor and you had grown close in the time he had spent on earth. You would watch movies with him and tell him all about the different countries around the world and talk about wanting to travel it all one day.
“I’m sure your father had already told you, but Loki is also here.” He said and moved out of the way for you to see Loki standing in the doorway already looking at you.
“Nice to see you again Loki.” You say and extend your hand.
His eyes did a once over on you and looked at your hand.
“Pleasure to see you too.” He put his hand in yours and gently shook it.
His hand lingered on yours and soon he withdrew his hand.
Thor’s voice brought you out of the little bubble you two seemed to be in. He had greeted Peter while you and Loki were occupied with eyeing each other out.
“Tony said to show Loki to his room, I have to go and see Jane. I promised to see her immediately after I would come back to earth.” With nothing else to say, Thor turned around and left with a kick in his step.
“He seems rather happy.” You said to Loki.
“He wouldn’t stop smiling on the way here, and I have a feeling it has to do with something not shield related.” Loki chuckled and moved out of the way so that you could show him to his room.
“Peter, I’ll be right back. You can continue clearing out as many things as you can. We can talk when I get back.” You assure him and he somehow knows it has something to do with what he mumbled before Thor and Loki arrived.
With a nod to you and Loki, Peter went back to cleaning.
You and Loki walked in silence as you moved to the hallway where your room and Peters were. Yours was opposite his and there were no other rooms being used since Your parents hand their own hallway and Bruce’s room was near the lab.
There were two rooms next to yours and Peters that were prepared by staff. You sneakily made your way to the one next to yours and let Loki follow you in.
“You can settle into the room. My room is just next to yours and Peters is opposite ours, along with Thor’s. I’ll let you settle in, but if you need anything, my room is just next door.” You made sure to look him up and down and put in an extra sway in your hips as you walked towards the door.
“I’ll be sure to make use of that, should the opportunity arise.” He husked and watched as you closed the door and walk away.
The whole time your mind was running with thoughts on whether to finally act on your feelings or not.
By the time you got back to the room, Peter had cleared out majority of the room.
“Wanna talk about what you said earlier?” You asked him as you leaned back onto the table.
“Uhm… yeah I guess.” He blushed and turned towards you.
You could tell this was going to be good, whenever Peter blushed it had something to do with MJ.
When you and her first met, you instantly became good friends. Her personality matching yours so well.
“Tony found out that I took MJ out on patrol with me one night, and he wasn’t very happy about it…” He went on to explain the long lecture that your father gave him.
“It’s okay, you know how he can be. I’ll talk to him about it, okay?” You smiled at him, to which he returned the smile and then suggested drawing out some drafts for the prototype model.
Soon you both got to work
Tumblr media
“What are you doing up so late, and where is Peter?” Tony’s voice booms across the room.
It startles you a bit and you glare in the direction of your fathers voice but stop when you see who is with him.
“I’m watching a movie, since I’m not allowed to help you with anything, and Peter is gone to see a friend.” Of course, you knew that friend was MJ.
“Can you not watch a movie in your room?” Your father asked raising an eyebrow.
“Nope, the TV is broken.”
The look your father gave you almost made you laugh, almost.
“What did you do to it?” He asked massaging the sides of his forehead.
“I tried to put it up on the new shelf I built, but Peter and I aren’t tall enough, so we tried to throw it up. It was a few inches taller, but then it fell.” You explain making your way from the living room into the kitchen.
The whole time your father and you were talking, Loki looked on in amusement.
“You threw a TV-, okay I’m not going to shout. You’re old enough now, but next time ask for help.” Tony said and made his way to the kettle and getting a cup to make coffee.
“I can help you, seeing as I am tall, or I could just levitate it up for you.” Loki offered and looked to Tony and then back at you.
“Anything, as long as there’s no more accidents like this.” Tony motioned towards the two of you.
“Sounds like a plan.” You smiled at Loki.
“Seems so.” He replied and soon turned to your father as he started to talk to Loki about some dark magic related nonsense that you didn’t understand.
You made your way back to the living room but kept your eyes on Loki as they spoke. He had such a defined face that you couldn’t help but admire it. His eyes soon met yours and he smirked and bit his lip as he gave you a once over.
That was when you realized that you were only using a sleep shirt and your legs were out on full display.
Your father had left to see where your mother was since she asked for him three hours ago. Loki, Bruce and your father had been working on whatever they were doing for a while now and you knew your mother was annoyed with Tony.
“What’re you watching?” Loki asked and sat beside you.
His attired was changed to a pair of sweats and a lose shirt. He had gotten use to wearing such clothes in the time he spent on earth before.
“I was just browsing through channels, nothing good to watch.” You exclaim and motion to the TV.
Your eyes went to his lips and back to his eyes when you noticed how close he was to you.
“Want me to show you something?” His deep voiced sent goosebumps up your neck.
“Depends on what it is.” You replied just as lowly.
He smirked and held his hand out after he stood up. You put your hands in his and you followed him as he led you to the roof of the compound. It was a quiet night, as it always was. The compound was situated near the outside of New York, but there was still a breathtaking view of the city that never sleeps.
“You’re not planning on pushing me off, are you?” You joke and walk along the edge, as you turn around to look at him, you miss balance and gasp as you look down at the height difference from the top of the compound to the ground.
Hands make their way around you and you are pulled back into a chest.
“You need to be more careful darling.” Loki whispered as you look up at him and stare at him in shock.
The adrenaline from what could’ve happened was still playing in your mind, so you just buried your face into Loki’s neck and hugged him. He hugged you back with no hesitation.
“I’m sorry.” You whisper and hold onto him tighter.
“It’s okay, you’re fine and that’s all that matters.” He put his hand in your hair and gently massaged your skelp.
After a moment you take in a deep breath and move away from him.
His arms were still around you, and he smiled down at you when you looked up at him.
“So, about that thing I needed to show you… “ He stepped back briefly.
“I need to tap into your mind, I can make you relive a happy memory, or fantasy of yours.” He exclaimed as an emerald green emitted from his hands.
“Really? That’s amazing.” You said excitedly.
“Would you mind me doing it to you?” He asked curiously.
“By all means, go ahead.” You replied excitedly.
“Okay, close your eyes and take my hand.” He gave you his hand once again and you took it with no hesitation.
You closed your eyes and waited for what he was going to do next.
Before you know it the darkness around you came to life and you saw Loki in front of you in a room you recognized immediately.
This was a dream, which later became a fantasy.
Loki stood in front of you shirtless with a touch of wanting in his eyes. His eyes looked you over and soon his hands were all over you, pulling you closer and making you gasp in the process.
His lips were on you’re the moment you hands rested on his chest.
Flashes of what you fantasized about made it way through your mind. You opened your eyes quickly when you felt yourself caving those touches. The very same person you wanted it from was in front of you and you had to stop yourself from acting on those thoughts.
“Is everything okay?” Loki asked when you took in deep breaths of air.
“Yes, just a bit overwhelmed.” You chuckled and looked away from him.
“It’s getting late now; I think you should get some sleep. You do look a bit tired.” He advised looking at the slight dark circles under your eyes.
It had been a good few days since you had a full nights sleep. After what you just envisioned, a good nights sleep would be nice.
“I was just thinking the same, you’re not going to come?” You asked as you walked forward and noticed him not following you.
“I’ll just stay out here a little while longer.” He replied and smiled at you.
“Alright Mr. Magic hands, I’ll see you in the morning. Goodnight.” You say and walk away.
“Goodnight y/n.” You hear him as you walk inside.
What Loki failed to tell you about this new magic of his was that he is able to witness the memories or fantasies. He saw everything you saw, and that night as you left him on the roof, he smiled and looked up at the night sky.
Tumblr media
“Good morning sunshine. I see you had a good nights rest.” Peter said and smiled at you.
“Top of the morning to you too.” You smiled back.
You woke up in a good mood and put the kettle on to make some coffee. You had just got out of the bathroom and was ready for the work ahead of Peter and you.
“Ready to start work today?” You ask to fill in the silence.
“More ready than ever.” He said and looked at two individuals who entered the kitchen.
“Hello y/n, Peter.” Thor waved and moved to the fridge and took out the milk for what you assumed was for breakfast.
“Morning Thor.” You greeted and then looked to Loki who was watching you.
“Want some tea Loki?” You asked moving to the kettle with your cup in hand.
“I wouldn’t mind some, thank you.”
You took out an extra cup for him and made his tea and your coffee. Once you set the cup in front of him your father walked in with messy hair and his pajamas that he had yet to change out of.
“Morning all, ready for a day of work?” He asked and started making his own cup of coffee.
“Whenever you’re ready Stark.” Thor said with a spoonful of cereal in his mouth. Loki only nodded as he brought the cup to his lips.
His eyes moved to yours and he caught you looking at him, you offered him a smile, which he returned.
“Tony, by when do you think we would be done today?” Loki asked moving his gaze to your father.
“Since y’all are going to be here for a while, I guess whenever would be okay.”
“Very well then, y/n and I are going into the city to have lunch.” Loki motioned to you.
When your father looked at you with slightly wide eyes, you gave him a sheepish smile.
“Yeah dad, we’re going for lunch and I’m going to take him t central park. We never had a chance to visit the last time he was here.” You give Tony your best puppy dog eyes, which you know he is will fall for, even when he doesn’t want to.
“Fine, we’ll be done before lunch, but don’t forget that Loki is here to help Bruce and I figure out this dark magic thing.” He reminded you both and turned back to his coffee.
You sent Loki a smile and looked to Peter who was smiling teasingly at you by moving his eyes from you to Loki.
You sent him a playful glare and went on to prepare for the day.
Tumblr media
“I always wondered what you two did when none of us were around, and now I realize it’s what you always do. Build and design. Like a mini-Tony and Bruce.” Natasha’s voice came from the doorway.
You turned towards her voice and practically ran to her and hugged her.
“Glad to see you finally visited.” You say and look up at her.
“I can never stay away from here.” She laughed and went to hug Peter.
“What are you little bugs working on?” She asked making her way to the table you and Peter were previously working at.
“Dad wanted us to make a prototype for a new tower. I reckon he only gave us this, so we stay out of what hm and Uncle Bruce are working on.” You huffed and sat in the chair next to the table.
“You know how he always wants to keep these things away from you. You’re a smart kid y/n, you too Peter. But shield business like this can be dangerous.” Natasha explained and sat in the chair opposite you.
“Yeah, we hear it all the time.” Peter rolled his eyes and recalled the many times Tony lectured him on little mistakes he made when out on night patrols.
“How’s the love life going for you both? I saw Loki is back, and I heard Tony complaining to Steve about you taking MJ out on night patrols.” She lowered her voice and smiled at you to in a mischievous way.
“Why is he telling Steve about that-, wait how do you know about MJ?” Peter asked genuinely confused.
Only you and Wanda had known about it.
“We girls talk Peter, and I also noticed the picture you have of her in the back of your phone.” She clarified.
“Okay fine yes, MJ and I are somewhat together now, but we’re not telling anyone yet.” He explained shyly. It was cute how nervous it was for him to talk about her.
“Loki is just here to work on some stuff for shield and that’s it.” You told her honestly.
You decided to keep the small moment between you and Loki to yourself, it was an intimate moment that was currently making you smile and look forward to the lunch he failed to mention to you.
“I’m sure he’s only here for that.” She said with a roll of eyes.
“Oh hush.” You laugh and glare at her.
You three continue to chat for a little until you check the time and see it’s 10 minutes before when you and Loki agreed to meet for lunch.
You took the liberty to change your clothes before meeting him in the living room. Even though you didn’t mind how you looked, it would still be nice to dress up for someone like Loki. The way he would look at you sometimes really made you contemplate taking him to your room and hiding him from the world.
“I must say darling, you know how to turn heads as you walk by.” He complimented and put a hand on the small of your back as you both walked to the elevator.
“You look handsome as well, I’m sure you’re the type of stranger that men and women fall for with just a glance.” You certainly weren’t holding back with how you spoke to Loki.
If the connection the both of you had was still strong after not seeing each other for months, then you weren’t about to hold back. He would definitely be remembering you when he is gone back to Asgard.
The thought of him leaving made you a little sad, but you brushed it off and decided to concentrate on what was currently happening.
“So, do you know of any places to eat at?” He asked and looked down at you.
He was so much taller than you.
“I know of a few places.” You try to think of a few places and settle on one you visit with a few friends a while back.
Tumblr media
By now you had both finished eating lunch and were walking through Central Park as you happily showed him around. You came across a few dogs and Loki watched as you went to pet them. The whole time he was watching you with a smile on his face.
He had thought back to the night prior and the things you fantasized about. If he knew you these things roamed through your mind then he would’ve taken a look sooner, but he did only learn this as of recent.
“Do you have to pet every dog that passes by?” He chuckled and watched you walk with his hand in yours.
“Yes Loki, it’s a blessing to even come across them.”
You’re a real blessing, he thought to himself.
The day passed by quickly and you both had a really good time talking about little things.
The more he spoke to you the more he felt himself liking you.
As you both made your way back to the compound pretty much everyone was there. It was Friday so it was movie night.
It became a tradition once your dad felt lonely with Pepper leaving for business trips, so the team decided to make it a thing.
Now everyone was sat and watched as you and Loki came into the living room.
“Nice to see that you too finally decided to show up.” Wanda smiled and looked at Natasha.
“We had a long afternoon; you should’ve met these dogs we saw at Central Park. They were all so cute.” You gushed and walked towards everyone.
“Why don’t you get a dog?” Sam asked as he plopped down next to Bucky.
“Ask robot man, he doesn’t want one running around the compound.” You narrow your eyes at your dad.
Everyone looks at him for an explanation and before he can open his mouth to say anything, his expression changes, “You know there was a time where you would all defend me like this. My own daughter stole my friends.” He huffed.
“Defending her is defending you but defending her against you is different.” Steve laughs.
“Same difference.” Your father mumbles.
“I’m going to shower and get changed. You can start without me.” You smile at everyone and get up to leave.
“I’ll join- I mean not in that way. I’m also going to shower.” Loki’s eyes widened and he hurried after you.
You hear everyone chuckle in the distance as you are already halfway down the hallway.
You can hear Loki’s footsteps behind you but choose not to look back.
“So, you’re going to join me?” You teased.
It took a moment before he could reply, the whole time you were smirking. Loki was speechless.
“I wouldn’t mind, but I’m afraid your father looked like he would much rather kill me instead, and I don’t know about you, but I feel like other people need to be blessed in seeing such a face.”
“You’ve done enough blessing throughout today handsome.” You looked over your shoulder as you stand before your door and wait to open it.
“See you in a bit.” You wink at him and walk into your room and close the door before he could say anything.
You smiled to yourself as you made your way to the bathroom. The next few months were about to be fun.
Tumblr media
It started with little touches here and there whenever you two were alone.
You would be in the kitchen and when he was stood in front of the cutlery drawer you would snake your arm around his him and brush over a certain area to get a mere spoon.
He would return these moments, by standing behind you when your father decided to have pool parties or when you were stood against a surface.
It was getting to him, the way you would tease him, certain clothes you’d wear which would drive him crazy.
“You look beautiful darling, anyone in particular you’re trying to get the attention of?” He asked as he whispered into your ear.
“I don’t know, there was this gentleman in the tech department that was all googly eyes when he saw me. Could be him.” You state suggestively.
“I wonder what made him, as you say, ‘googly eyed’.” He stepped in front of you and looked up as if he were in thought.
“I can think of a few things.” You said suggestively.
“And what may that be?”
“This dress is quite tight and leaves little to the imagination, but so does this suit of yours. Especially when you roll up your sleeves like that.” You briefly eye the rolled-up sleeve of the dress shirt he is wearing. The veins around his arms making you have a little mind-gasm.
“The dress is tight; I wonder what else is.” This type of flirting was a new level that you and Loki have crossed.
Yet you both never acted on instinct, each waiting for the other to do something, and when nothing was done, it would become more intense.
Like now, you were on your way to his room next door to ‘ask for some help’ as you needed some help with sorting out some clothes.
No females were in the compound at this hour, so you needed someone’s opinion on what clothes to keep.
You knocked on his door and he opened it with no shirt on, he was only in a pair of boxers. Over the time he stayed on earth, he became more comfortable with the clothes as well.
“Can I help you with anything?” He said looking you up and down.
You were currently wearing a sleep shirt, which you purposely chose to wear for this reason.
“You can actually, I need an opinion on what clothes I need to keep and seeing as you are so stylish. I wouldn’t want to ask anyone else.” You smiled and walked back to your room, knowing that he would follow.
You heard your room door close and turned to look at him. You had a bed sheet hanging from your ceiling and a light illuminating from the other side, easily making anything from the opposite side visible through the shadow from the light.
Loki looked to the set up with a raised brow and sat at the edge of your bed.
“I put this up earlier today, makes it easy to get my clothes off.” You said and grabbed a dress from nearby and walked behind the bedsheet.
Loki didn’t take his eyes off you silhouette and he sees you strip. The outline of your hardened nipples being very visible to him. It took everything in him to stop himself from following you behind the sheet and having his way with you.
He would have you coming to him, this was what he thought from the first time you both explicitly flirted with one another.
Outfit after outfit and Loki felt himself losing sanity each time you changed behind that silly sheet.
By the end of your little show, Loki sat back on your bed and watched you walked towards him in one his shirts you borrowed.
“Thanks for the help, now I know what outfits to keep. Judging by your reactions and lack of words most of the time.” You smiled and sat next to him.
As you crossed your legs, the shirt raised up a little and his eyes followed its movement.
Your eyes followed but stopped when you took notice of the noticeable bulge.
“I think I’m going to call it a night.” You declared and moved off the bed to open your door for him.
“… and seeing as it is really late, I suggest you get to working on the little issue you have there.” You looked into his eyes and saw the ghost of a smile on his lips.
“Little issues? I assure you this isn’t a little issue darling.” He smiled and looked at your hardened nipples pressed against the shirt.
“I’ll be the judge of that, but until then. Goodnight.” You moved your head in the doors direction and he walked out and gave you a nod.
Tumblr media
“Y/n Tony cannot know about this. He would kill me if he see’s this.” The mention of your name from Peters voice drew Loki’s attention to the room that you were both working in.
The room was just barely ajar, and he could see you and a shirtless Peter. He grows angry seeing you so close to Peter.
You were both working on his suit which seemed to have something wrong with it, but he took note that the proximity between you two said more.
“How did you even manage to do this? You’re even hurt.” You said gently gripping his arms that had a deep scratch on it.
You left what you were doing with the suit and tended to his scratch with the first aid you had kept close by.
The whole time Loki was watching the exchange, before he could do anything else, Loki left and went to his room.
He was planning on asking you to accompany him to the roof so he could finally talk to you. He finally decided that you were too good of a woman to just keep playing this game with, but then he saw you and Peter, specifically a shirtless Peter.
He knew better than to throw around any accusations, you weren’t the type to lead people on.
He decided that he was going to make his move, tonight.
Tumblr media
You came to your room after a long day of working, all you wanted to do was shower and have a good night’s sleep.
Just as you were about to start taking off your clothes you saw a handwritten note left on your bedsides.
It read:
Waiting for you on the rooftop, I have something to show you. Awaiting your company.
-Loki Odinson.
You quickly rushed to the bathroom and showered as fast as you could. The last time he took you to the roof was when this little game started.
You did your nightly routine and made it look like you weren’t rushing to meet Loki. As you walked down the hallway you hope that he still up there since you don’t know when he left the note there. He didn’t seem to be in his room anyway.
You quicky found yourself entering the rooftop and looked around till you saw him standing at the edge where you almost fell that night.
“Loki?” You called out as you got closer to him.
You failed to see the smile he had on his face when you came.
“It didn’t take you that long, glad to see you found the note in time.” He smiled and met you halfway as he walked towards you.
“I found it when I went to my room to shower, it mentioned you had something to show me.” You whisper as he tucked a hair behind your ear.
“Ahh yes, remember that night I told you that I could make you see a good memory or fantasy?”
“Yeah, it was quite cool how you manage to do that.” Your eyes stray away from his as you recall what exactly you saw.
“Would you mind if I did that again?” He was biting his lip as he looked at you.
You wouldn’t mind seeing that fantasy again, so why not.
“I wouldn’t mind at all.” You smile holding your hand out or him to hold. He took your hand in his and you both closed your eyes and soon you were reliving that very same fantasy.
Loki’s hands trailing up and down your body.
Small kisses between little moans and groans.
Him looking up at you from between your thighs.
The look on his when he climaxed.
And the way your name fell from his lips.
You quickly opened your eyes again and gasped a little as you stepped back.
You took a moment to compose yourself before looking at Loki, who was looking at you with a heated gaze.
“There was something I didn’t mention about this new spell… “ He stepped slower to you and gradually wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer to him.
“I could see everything that you saw.”
You felt your face heat up immediately after your mind registered his words.
“What-“
“Don’t panic, I quite enjoyed what I saw. In fact, I may have added a few more things since the first time.” He smirked as you wiggled in his arms.
That’s when you felt all of him against you.
It took you a moment, you weren’t about to give him the satisfaction he wanted.
“And what’re you going to do about it… darling?” You teased and rested your hands on his chest.
“I have a few things in mind, but first… I’d like to disclose something. When I take an interest in something, or in this case, someone. I make sure that they’re only mine. Now while I don’t want to jump to conclusions, I came upon an interesting sight when I saw you and Peter, the spider boy, were very comfortable with one another. You had been mine since the moment you skipped along and came into my life.” He looked at you intently the whole time he spoke. Hoping what he was revealing wasn’t going to scare you or anger you.
“Are you claiming me, your majesty? I would like that, but just as long as you know you would be mine too. And about what you saw earlier, Peter needed some help with his suit, he ended up fighting off some robbers who got him really bad.” You give him a teasing smile and pull him closer.
You brought your face up to his and looked down to his lips before looking back up to his eyes. He bent down lower and kisses you. You immediately kissed back, and it was a fight of dominance between the two of you. Although he did win.
“How about we take this to your room? Or mine? If that’s okay with you?” He whispered as he pulled back from you.
“Damn take me out to dinner first Mr. Smooth.” You joke and gently slap at his cheek.
“I was assuming we could watch a movie or talk. I have no idea what you had in mind.” He lifted an accusing eyebrow.
“I’m sure you did.”
From that night onwards things changed between Loki and you, even if he would return to Asgard one day. He made sure to make it known to his parents that he now had a purpose on earth, and while to them it may be ‘work related’, it was actually you that made his stay.

You spent countless hours in lessons learning how to be ruler of the kingdom, been taught everything from politics to art, sword fighting to etiquette. Long story short, everything you needed to take the throne and face the challenges that came with wearing the crown.
For years, the kingdom had been at war but recently there was at last a chance for peace but it came with a cost... an arranged marriage. You weren’t so sure about it but if it meant your people being safe, you would sacrifice your own happiness.
Ever since your father had made the announcement of your impending wedding, it had consumed your every thought. You hadn’t even met your betrothed and, yet, you were supposed to spend the rest of your life with them. You had watched the older servants with their spouses and to be honest with yourself it melted your heart. Even your father was a kind and gentle person when it came to your mother. With any luck, the person you were going to marry would be kind to you.
Deciding you needed a distraction; you put on a disguise and managed to sneak out of the palace. Sure you could have gotten drunk in your room but where was the fun in that? You had crept out on a few occasions so you knew that the townsfolk knew how to party compared to those stuffy nobles.
From the moment you stepped inside the tavern named The Nest, the atmosphere was abuzz with excitement. The walls were decorated with purple fabric hangings, crossbows, longbows, arrows and other archery items. A taxidermy hawk was perched above the door, its eyes ever watching. A one eyed dog ran about the patrons, getting pats from some of them and cleaning up pieces of dropped food. People were dancing, singing and drinking, some leaning on each other for support as they swayed. To any other noble, the scene may have looked chaotic but to you, it only looked like fun.
With a grin, you made your way over to the bar and took a seat. Still taking in your surroundings, you barely noticed when the sandy haired bartender stood in front of you.
 “What can I get you?”
“Oh! Um...” You tried to think of something that would not give away your identity as a noble. The man raised an eyebrow at you.
“Hey, Clint! Two boilermakers over here,” another patron called.
The man whom you now know as Clint poured them the drinks and turned back to you.
 “So?”
“I’ll have... o-one of those,” you said, making a feeble attempt to pound your fist on the counter in an attempt to fit in.
Clint tilted his head and gave you a curious look.
 “Alright...”
Clint made the boilermaker and placed it in front of you. Thanking him, you took a swig of the drink and felt instant misgivings about it as the alcohol burned not only your throat but your ears and the very pit of your stomach. Clint laughed as you coughed and spluttered.
“You’re not from around here, are you?”
“You... might say that,” you mumbled, wiping your mouth.
“You picked the right night to come. Nat’s doing a show.”
 “Nat?”
“Wow, you really aren’t from around here if you don’t know Natasha. Just watch,” he advised, nodding his head over to the stage.
The stage was well lit and crowed around the edges by men and women who were eagerly waiting for whoever was about to appear from behind the purple curtains.
Music began and a foot decorated with a silver anklet emerged. The audience cheered loudly as the woman behind her curtain slowly began to reveal herself. She wore a black piece of fabric around her upper body, twisted just a little in the centre of her chest. The bottom of her costume was made up of a red fabric front and back which started out solid but faded to transparent as it went down and held together by delicate chains. Silver cuffs adorned her upper arms and wrists. Her lips were painted sinfully crimson. Sparkly onyx hairpins held her red curls in place. She was absolutely stunning.
The woman slowly began to sway her hips to the music, arms and feet poised. It was almost hypnotic in the way she moved. As the beat picked up, so did her dancing. One of the men near the front of the stage started to get a little carried away and tried to climb up.
Fearing for the safety of the dancer, you tensed and shifted to help her but Clint placed a hand on your shoulder.
“Easy. Nat can handle herself around these drunk idiots.”
You watched as Nat placed her foot on the man’s cheek before kicking him off the stage. The crowd jeered and laughed at the man, some pouring their drinks on him. Despite the interruption, Nat continued her performance.
Her face was calm and collected, never faltering, as the audience got more and more rowdy.
Nat ended her performance by kneeling and giving a graceful bow. The throng of people got even more riled up as she headed back behind the curtain and before you knew it, a fight broke out. You could only sit on your barstool and laugh as the place erupted into bedlam. As a noble, the most you had ever witnessed people scuffle as a heated argument that never went beyond words and even then they never used the language you heard flying around the room. Sure, there was the battlefield but once again that was an entirely different situation.
However, your humour was soon cut short as the royal guards walked in to break up the fight. You felt your heart sink to the bottom of your stomach.
“You hiding from those guys?” Clint asked, not even fazed by the mayhem around him.
 “S-sorta...”
Clint jumped over the bar and prompted you to follow him. You weren’t entirely sure what made you decide to trust a total stranger nonetheless, you followed his lead. As he walked along, he dodged all fists, tankards and bottles that flew his way. You did your best but still caught the occasional projectile to your body, taking great care not to let any hit your face lest there be questions tomorrow.
He stopped to look around before opening a panel in the back wall, just big enough for you to squeeze out.
“Follow the tunnel until the end. That’ll take you to the backstreets. Be fast. The guards will start patrolling the minute they break things up here. Just make sure you close the exit on the other side.” With that, Clint pushed you through the gap and closed the panel behind you.
Just as he said, you followed the tunnel until the end, closing the door behind you and made your way through the backstreets until you had made it all the way home, fortunately without incident.
As you got ready for bed that night, you couldn’t stop thinking about Nat. She was just so beautiful... Could this be just a crush? You had to know for certain.
...
The following night, you once again crept out of the palace and back to The Nest and sat at the bar. The place was busy but nowhere near as packed as it was last night.
“I see the guards failed to catch you,” Clint commented, making his way over to you.
“Yeah... um... is Nat dancing again tonight by any chance?”
Clint gave you a sly look.
“She’s not dancing but she is working. Hey, Nat!”
Your heart began to race as the red head walked over to you. Tonight she was wearing a black, off-the-shoulder dress with a red belt around her waist. Even outside of her dancing costume she was beautiful.
 “What?”
“This is the one I was telling you about.”
You felt panic seize in your chest. They were talking about you? What in the world could they have possibly been saying? Nat looked you up and down, carefully examining you before glancing over at Clint who gave an approving nod.
 “Let’s dance...”
Before you could protest, Nat grabbed your hand and dragged you onto the dance floor. It was no surprise to you that she was just as graceful on her feet as she had been on stage. As you danced with her, you could feel her brushing her hands over your hips and waist. You found yourself surrendering to her touch. At the end of the song, Nat wrapped her arms around your shoulders and pressed her lips to your ear.
“Tell me... what is a noble doing in a place like this?”
 You completely froze.
 “Wh-what makes you think...?”
“Everything. From the way you dance, to your posture and your speech. So, answer my question.”
“Is... is there somewhere private we can talk?”
Nat lead you to the backroom after checking the coast was clear.
 “Now talk...”
With a sigh, you removed your hood, showing her your face.
“The heir to the throne,” she whispered reverently.
You put your hood back on and looked down.
“You should get out of here. Folks in these parts don’t take kindly to nobles, especially members of the royal family. What are you doing here anyway?”
“I... I wanted to experience as much freedom as I could before I get married...”
“So one last fling before finally settling down. How sweet.” Her voice positively dripped venom as she spoke.
 “It’s not like that!”
“Then tell me what it is like...”
With a sigh, you looked out the tiny window on the back wall that let in a sliver of moonlight.
“Ever since I was young, I dreamed of having a perfect wedding with the perfect person I would spend the rest of my life with... but with this war, I’m to marry one of the children of the opposing kingdom as a token of peace... I don’t know what kind of person they are. If they’re good, maybe we could work together to fix some of the broken parts of the city and of course, I would help in their kingdom too but if they’re not a good person, well...”
Nat was quiet for a few moments before finally speaking.
“I really hate it when Clint is right,” she sighed.
You turned to look at her.
 “Clint?”
“You see, Clint has this innate sense of finding the good in people and helping them out. He helped me a few years back...”
You held her hand, encouraging her to continue.
“I was in a really bad place... did some really bad things... Clint helped me get out of it. Got me a job, a home... even made me partner. I owe a lot to him...”
You couldn’t help but feel a small pang of jealousy for the man even though you knew it was completely irrational.
 “So you and he are...?”
 Nat shook her head.
“We tried it once but it didn’t work out. We’re better off as friends.”
You couldn’t help but feel a tiny sense of relief.
“I would like to get to know you better... for however I have until my impending marriage. That is if you’ll let me.”
 “What about after?”
“I’ll try and see you if I can... and if not; you can be my one who got away.”
“That was... really cheesy,” she laughed.
“I guess it was... but what do you say?”
“On one condition; don’t make any promises you can’t or don’t intend to keep. I’ve been through enough of that in my lifetime.”
 “It’s a deal.”
...
Over the next few weeks, you got to know Nat quite well. You knew everything about her and she knew everything about you and not just as future sovereign but as a person. Eventually the time came when the feuding royal family came to your kingdom, bringing with them your spouse to be.
They introduced you to the youngest member of the family named Loki. Loki was about your age and attractive enough but in the short time you spent with Natasha, your heart purely belonged to her. Your respective fathers left you alone to bond, catching daggers in their backs from the glares from both you and Loki as they left.
“They certainly can be civil when they want to be,” Loki sneered.
 “You got that right...”
“You don’t really want to be married to me do you?”
You thought carefully about how to answer.
“I don’t even know you... but how else can we stop this war?”
“I have been doing research on my end. If we can pool our resources, perhaps we can find how it began and how we can stop it. Shall we?”
Loki offered a slender hand which you took.
 “We shall.”
...
In the time leading up to your wedding, you and Loki spent every minute of the day together. To anyone else, it looked like a couple bonding and getting to know each other before your upcoming nuptials. To you and Loki, it was a mission; one to find out the truth and put an end to the war.
Your nights were spent with Nat, talking about Loki and what else you could do to stop the fighting. There was one night you had crept in after seeing Nat and Loki had caught you and you thought for sure you were done for but instead, Loki covered for you. Loki was fully supportive of your relationship with Natasha and encouraged you to pursue her once this whole thing had blown over.
Eventually it came time when your wedding was fast approaching. The night before the big event, you were of course with Natasha, wanting to spend as long as you could with each other before whatever happened tomorrow.
“I promise you Nat, we will be together...”
Nat teared up and shook her head.
“Remember the deal you made, Y/N. You said you wouldn’t make promises you couldn’t keep...”
“But I intend to keep this one...”
 “Just go!”
Nat turned away so you couldn’t see her cry. You gently turned her back to you and kissed her softly. She kissed back, holding you tight as if she didn’t want to let you go. Eventually you had to break for air.
“If... if this really is our last night together... then let’s make a memory that will last a lifetime...”
With that, you kissed her again, this time with all the love and passion you could muster. It may have seemed scandalous to spend the night before your wedding with another but you wouldn’t give Nat away for the world.
...
The following morning, you and Loki had set your plan into motion. The wedding started out like any other with guests arriving and people all taking their places. Your heart was hammering against your ribs and blood roared in your ears as the ceremony began. Loki remained calm and collected, keeping cool until the right moment.
“If anyone has any objections as to why these two should not wed, speak now or forever hold your peace.”
“We object,” both you and Loki said in unison. The whole room erupted into shock. Instantly, both Odin and your father rounded on the pair of you, absolutely seething.
“Silence!” Loki snarled. The room fell quiet.
“Now, the whole point of this wedding was to stop this ridiculous war. A war that was started over a futile reason...”
Both you and Loki went to where you had hidden two ancient artefacts; one from your history and one from Asgard’s.
“Many years ago, our kingdom was accused of taking this,” you said, holding the item up high.
“But they were wrong. We had our own the whole time,” Loki stated, holding up the other.
“Our two kingdoms went to war when they should have been joining forces as we were once centuries ago...”
The pair of you combined the two items to show they fitted perfectly together.
“We should be united once more. Let us put a stop to the fighting once and for all!”
The gathering all cheered and rejoiced at the prospect of peace. Your fathers sat there sullenly while their wives attempted to gently comfort them. Loki gently turned to you.
“Isn’t there someone you want to see?”
With Loki’s blessing, you ran out of the church.
...
Nat had been drowning her sorrows at The Nest. She had known this day was long coming but it didn’t stop the ache she felt in her heart from losing you to another. Clint did his best to try and comfort her but it wasn’t enough. She didn’t even look up when her name was called but eventually Clint did catch her attention.
“What?!” she hissed. Clint pointed behind her to where you were standing still in your wedding clothes.
“Y/N? What are you-” You cut her off with a kiss.
“Loki and I did it. We were able to restore peace and we didn’t even have to get married. We can be together now...”
“But I’m just a common barmaid. You’re going to take over the throne...”
“And when I do, I can make whatever rule I want and marry whoever I want. I want to marry you one day Natasha... that is if you’ll have me...”
“I...” Nat looked over to Clint who smiled and nodded. “Yes...”
...
Over the next few weeks, you worked in tandem with Nat to fix the rough parts of the city, just as you had told her. There was a lot of gossip surrounding your relationship but neither of you cared. You had also made a point to stay in touch with Loki to find out how things were going in Asgard.
After so many years of war, it was nice to finally see some happiness. Maybe in time, there would be a royal wedding after all. A real one out of love that was formed between two hearts that truly cared for one another.

It Gets Better(A Silky Pearl)
Summary: It’s been a long time since things have gotten this bad. Loki, returned from his latest mission, lets you know that, with help and support, you can overcome the worst of things, and makes sure you know that he’ll be there with you to get you through it, each and every day.
Pairing: Loki/Female Reader
Warnings: Reader in this fic struggles with eating disorders. Thoughts and feelings related to these(specifically to anorexia and bulimia), are made throughout the fic, especially those that, in my personal experience, people with these disorders experience. I cannot stress enough that this will be discussed/referenced/talked about, sometimes explicitly(Though not graphically) and sometimes implicitly, so please be aware of that and know that it’s OK to take care of yourself and skip this one if that would be triggering to you!
Word Count: 3.1k
A/N: I want to preface this by saying that there are a LOT of people, both here and on AO3, who have made some amazing Loki/reader oneshots where the reader is struggling with mental health and/or physical health issues, that really provide a sense of warmth and fluff and support to people who may be going through those things themselves, and I’ve taken a lot of comfort in those fics over the course of the pandemic(I’ll be shouting out a couple of them in the tags!). I want to acknowledge that these exist, and that they’re awesome and have partly inspired my own writing, before talking about this little project I’m embarking on.
Because, while I have gotten a lot of comfort out of many of those pieces of writing, there are definitely some things which I feel like aren’t talked about as much in pieces like these which I have gone through, and which a lot of other people have gone/are going through, and…. I figured that maybe I could take a crack at trying to provide that hit of fluff for people dealing with those things, if I can, and hopefully use my own experience with them to do it in as respecful and accurate a way as possible.
All that being said, the first oneshot in this little project is going to be dealing with a pretty heavy subject, that being eating disorders. The reader in this fic does struggle with eating disorders - specifically anorexia and bulimia. I will not be actively describing anything too graphic about these disorders in this fic, except to highlight through implication and some sparse details that this is what’s happening here, as well as show some of the inner thought processes of the reader, but there definitely is enough in here to show that that’s what’s going on, so if anyone would be triggered by that, please take care of yourselves and give this one a pass! Also, I will further disclaim that there are many types of eating disorders, and everyone’s experience with them is different. In this oneshot, I wrote based off what I know to have been true during the time in my life when I struggled with the same conditions, and I really tried to make the fluff and support as kind and encouraging as I possibly could. If for ANY REASON there’s something that I did badly at, or something that’s disrespectful, anyone reading this may feel more than free to let me know and I’ll do my best to fix it! I don’t want this fic to be a place where anyone feels hurt or disrespected, that isn’t my intention at all, and if I make a mistake in that regard for any reason whatsoever, I would really appreciate knowing so that I can correct it!
Anyways, after that extremely lengthy A/N, just… please know, if you’re going through something like this, that you’re not alone, that help does exist and is out there, and that you are seen and heard. And take this Loki fluff, because honestly, there can never be too much of that in the world!
You know that he worries about you. Even before his latest, three-week mission, you know that he worried about you. In the mornings, as you pour your coffee, you watch him watch you with careful nonchalance, gaze boring into the back of your head, slight furrow creasing his eyebrows, frown pulling small at his lips. He dresses early, because he wakes early; it is a battle, most mornings, for you to get out of bed. And so what, if you take your coffee with more creamer than is necessarily normal - it has to last you a long time, this coffee. You need the sugar of it, to get you to that clean pain. It is sharper, more real, than any scalpel, any knife that Loki keeps concealed by his armor; all that fine Asgardian leather, green and supple and him. It gives you back the control that you lack. Lets you be the person that you would be.
It’s not that you’re afraid of your body, but you are ashamed by it; cannot fathom, even now with his gaze on you, that Loki could love somebody so dreadfully overweight.
Today, though - Today, you had thought, you had hoped, that it might be different. You don’t know why you have that hope, but it brims up in you; a physical need, a visible yearning, for you to be enough for once. Someone that Loki can stand to look at. Someone that Loki can love. He is looking at you now like he’s seeing you for the first time, and you flinch from the frown that creases his piercing gaze, unable to bear how it roves up the planes of your body; silhoutted in the light coming in through the window, you can feel each ounce of fat that stretches over your sinew, cartilage. (You know that Loki hates your body - He traces it sometimes like he’s probing you, trying to find where your bones are. You wish that you could call him on it, and know that you never could).
You stand at the counter, and turn from him; rummage in the cabinet for your coffee mug with shaking fingers; you almost feel like they’re rubber. Blue and cold, like his Jotun skin, but you know that it isn’t enough. Pins and needles prick at them - you can almost convince yourself that it’s only your guilt and shame, but you cannot hide from the pain suffusing Loki’s voice when he speaks.
“Darling,” He says, on a shaky breath, “We need to talk about this.”
“I know -” You tell him - you know that you can’t run from this, anymore. He knows how you look, how nothing you do is fixing it. And now, he’s going to leave you. “I know, Loki - I tried, Loki, I’m so sorry -“
The agony that wells up in you threatens to overwhelm your ability to speak, and you feel your knees buckle the second before you fall. Your kneecaps slam against the cupboard underneath the sink, your head hitting the edge of the counter as you slide down hard to the floor. It hurts. But every part of your body hurts, these days. It’s as constant as your worthlessness. And something else, too -
He is there, on the floor with you, in less time than it takes place to blink, pulling you hard and desperate into his arms; you don’t understand why, and you try to wrench yourself from him, sobs bubbling up and spilling out from your tightly shut eyes. You can feel the bruises starting to form on you, a lump throbbing at your temple.
“Love,” He is saying, “Y/N, sweetheart, come back to me. Come back to me, darling, please.” He is stroking your hair; you feel his fingers at its strands, thin and brittle. God, you think, how pathetic you are - you can’t even keep yourself pretty for him, for this god and all the sacrifices that he’s made. You cry harder, unable to stop your own wailing. When you finally do, you’re exhausted - it takes everything out of you.
“Loki,” You say, on a wretched whine, “I’m so cold.”
“Hush,” He says, “You’re alright. You’ll be warm soon - We’ll sort it, darling, I promise.”
You don’t know how to tell him that it isn’t something you can sort, but somehow you know, deep in your heart, that Loki understands. Still, his voice is so sweet, and the shudders that wrack you begin to halt in the steady hold of his embrace; the tender brush of his fingers over your skin. You feel like you can look at him, now, so you do it, sucking your bottom lip into your teeth to steel yourself for the cruel things you’re certain he’ll start with. But Loki’s gaze isn’t angry at you, not full of fury or disgust. They sparkle with unshed tears and concern, emerald in the daylight. It takes you a moment too long to realize all that pain, all that worry, is for you; when you do, though, you flinch away. Feel Loki’s fingers drop from your hairline to your cheek, then your chin, tilting your head up so that you can’t run and hide.
“I’m losing you, love,” Loki says. His voice is low, and steeped in sorrow. It is his turn to look down, with guilt and shame, and you feel a pang blossom, raw and red, in your heart. He sighs, and straightens his shoulders. He is filled with some new resolution, some new determination you can’t wince away from.
“I need to know,” Loki tells you, “How long this has been going on. I need to - I need you to tell me why, love. I can’t bear to see you like this.”
“I can’t,” You say, blinking back a fresh torrent of tears, “Tell you why. It’s not - I can’t - I don’t know.”
But you know, and Loki does, too. It’s the god of lies, holding you - of course he can tell that you’re lying. It is something other, and runs deep, this bone-y reluctance. A complex game of mental gymnastics. How could you ever tell Loki about the control that it gives you, the desperation with which you used all your calorie-counting and aching restraint to regain the love that you lost? The nights bent over toilet bowls; the way that, sometimes, you empty stomach made you dig your nails hard into your palms ’til they bled, to stop yourself from crying out at the pain. And he loves you - the part of you that craves his affection, that yearns to burrow fast and fierce into Loki’s embrace and spill all your secrets to him, makes sure to remind you of that.
“Y/N,” Says Loki, soft and tender, yet infused with a note so harsh that you would wince, if you could. “You can tell me anything. You need to.”
You notice things, now, in the face of his determination. You notice that Loki is looking at you like he’s in physical pain, and that there’s something sticky and red on the pads of the fingers that brushed up against your head.
“I’m bleeding,” You say. It comes out soft, horrified.
The frown that creases Loki’s face would bring you to your knees, if you weren’t there already.
“It’s just - a thing that I do,” You tell him, too ashamed to look at his face as you reveal it. “You don’t have to worry about it.”
“That’s not enough for me, love.”
Loki’s lips are pursed tight, and the wound in his eyes has hardened to steel. The you part of your body - the fleeing part, the one who knows how to survive - seizes its’ chance and you duck out of his embrace, with far more strength than you had possessed in what felt like, potentially, years. Scrambles, backwards, like a cornered animal, over the tile floor, before heaving itself up to standing. It faces Loki, and its’ breath comes in stabbing-sharp. It is hard to remember that you have to call it ‘myself’. You feel older than you were, yesterday, and you cannot, quite, get air to come into your lungs. That’s not enough for me, you hear your lover say, ringing in your ears like a hyena’s howl.
You’re not enough for me, love. Your fingers spasm, clutching the sides of the kitchen table white-knuckled. You wonder, fleetingly, what Loki would do if you died. The thought makes you cry out in pain, a whimper ripping out from a throat rubbed fingernail-raw, but Loki does not move to stand.
“Come back to me,” He tells you, spiked with sorrow and need. And, perhaps for the first time, you admit it - to yourself, as much as to him.
“I don’t - I don’t think I know how.”
He smiles the smiole of someone who’s seen his own pain, faced his own lashing demons, and you pause to take him in fully, this god who says that he loves you, the man he is trying to be. You catch on hixs eyes, those bright emerald coins, his hair like the feathers of crows. His high, pale cheekbones, and his silver-tongue cut like glass. The pads of his fingertips, slender and cold, tender and fierce on your skin or the hilt of a dagger. You breathe in the smell of him, parchment and iron; peppermint tea and the smoke from a lorn, crimson fire. Wet leaves, after a rain. You feel your resolve start to waver.
“Well,” He says, all thoughtful, all trickster, “Sitting down, I believe, would be a good place to begin.”
The teasing lilt of his voice - an act that he is putting on, and all for you, always for you - cajoles you, coaxing you to lever your elbows and slide back down onto the floor, your weary legs feeling unimaginably grateful. Loki shoots you a new smile now, light and proud. He beckons you, with a cock of his head and a slim, fond gesture, to him - Of a sudden, the tiles beneath you seem like a desert, an ocean. You feel the weight of your emptiness. It laughs at you, its’ white teeth filed and barred. In your head, your failure is heavy; a hot and cackling creature with seven-foot claws pressing down on your chest, restricting your matchstick limbs. You are lost to the unyielding insistence of it, trapped in the maw of its cage, and Loki’s words, when they come, sound as far away as the shores of a country ancient and foreign.
“I was hardly gone,” He is saying, but you cannot answer him. “How could it have gotten this bad?”
It is that - that sadness, that fear in your lover - that breaks you, and you take the thing at a clumsy, terror-steeped sprint, not caring how wretched you look, so long as you can reach him - So long, you finally let yourself think, as there is something left of you for Loki to hold in his arms. Your body hurts worse than anything. You feel every scrape and bruise and chill on it; the pins and knives working at oxygen-starved nerves, and the gnawing clamp of your hunger, a brand pressing into your gut; and you know that Loki can’t save you. But maybe, just maybe, you can find some way to save yourself. And his fingers are there, going up to your hair, thumb rubbing at a hollow cheek and catching the salty dirge of an errant tear.
“It gets better, you know,” Loki tells you. He gets you onto his lap; you feel his heartbeat under your palms where you clutch tightly at his shirt to hold yourself up. A steady, thrumming proof that he is alive. And when he says it, you get the sense that, somehow, you’ve always know it, this whispered secret he’s weaving into your soul. “If you get proper help for it. If you want it to.”
He speaks casually, but there is a weight to his words. Miraculously - you’re not quite so sure how - you find yourself able to meet them.
“I want it to,” You tell him. “I didn’t, before - “ And here his eyes widen, and he shakes his head like you’ve shot him - “But I do. I want to -“
“Alright, love,” He tells you, running a soothing hand down over your side, past the hard planes of your collarbone, “Alright. It’s okay. You’re such a strong person- It’s going to be hard, for awhile, but I know that you can get through this. I’ll be right here with you, darling. Right here, by your side.”
“You will?” You ask him, voice cracking, hardly daring to hope that despite all this, he would stay. He chuckles, sadly, as if your thinking it hurts him, and he is deadly serious when he tells you,
“Y/N, of course I will.”
Somehow, though he’s the god of lies, you don’t doubt his words for an instant. You nod, and the nodding takes effort. Yet you are certain he understands what you mean.
“So,” Says Loki, “Can you - Tell me about this?”
You have to think, for a minute. Can you tell Loki about this? You know that he’s telling the truth, that he isn’t going to leave you. Still, you’ve never been this vulnerable with him before, not even in bed, and the fear in you won’t be put to rest so easily. You shake in his hold, and realize, with a frigid shock, how you must look to him - how badly you are hurting him, and how badly you’re hurting yourself, by keeping your feelings inside yourself and leaving your body to rot. You know, now, that Loki will  help you through this - that he will be there, kind touches skirting the bad days; warm, mischevious smirks smoothing the wrinkles of your persistent self-doubts. There was a time when you needed to do this - there will, probably, still be days when you feel like you need to do this, to get a firm hold over your life, and keep the jackals at bay. There are other words to keep yourself safe, though. Loki’s breath in the dark is more home to you than anything you’ve ever had, and his open waiting, here in the daylight, makes you brave enough to speak.
“Maybe… Over lunch?” You offer. You bite your lip and hold out the query, a silky pearl in your hand. For one moment, Loki seems to consider; after all, he is the trickster, and a man not given to acting rashly, or stripping the drama from his complicated schemes. If this is a scheme, you think that you might forgive him - Later, when his lips are on your frame, when you’re there with him, again. His lips twitch into a grin so affectionate and proud that you know- you know - that if you seek proper care and really want to get better, you’ll get through the days that feel like walking on broken glass. You’ve done so much for me, that grin tells you. Let me do this for you.
He reaches out, and takes the pearl. You hardly recognize the man who rained hell down on New York, who snorts and jabs with sarcasm at every word that comes out of Iron Man’s mouth.
“Breakfast?” He counters, shooting a pointed glance at the microwave clock. It is a dare and a promise - a challenge, but never a trick. It tastes like honey on your tongue.
“Fine,” You say, “But you’ll have to cook.” Some kind of joy is creeping its way into you. Your voice, you find, barely trembles.
“Midgardians,” Lok says, with an eye-roll - a friendly, loving glint in his eyes that refuses to fade. “Don’t tell me you’re one of those people who burns water.” The joke prods your tender, new understanding, reassures you that he is still Loki; that he isn’t going to treat you differently, like a child, just because you’re suffering. The smile comes full onto you, and you wriggle, stretching your arms over your head and yawning, exaggerated for effect to add to the banter.
“I never said that I couldn’t cook,” You tell Loki, “Just wanted you to do it.”
“Mm,” He says, “And what will you be doing, then, while I cook?”
You chew at your lip, and choose to answer before your nerves make you panic.
“Finding the right words,” You admit, laying the truth bare to him.
His hands are wending through your hair now, and his lips are unberarably gentle on yours. He tastes like embers and ink. That sweet, slightly metalic tang that you’ve come to associate with his magic; cinnamon, tinged with steel. He kisses you for a second or two, before pulling away,  but you could live in those seconds - Unfold it, like a blanket, and let the care of it warm your thin, freezing bones, if Loki weren’t here to show you that, with the right help, you can learn how to do it yourself.
“Finding the right words,” Loki muses, vaulting himself up to stand in a movement that’s unfairly graceful. “I’d much prefer yours, to be honest.”
He holds a hand out, and you take it, letting him pull you up. The floor, underneath you, feels solid. The sun is coming through the clouds, and out there in the wide world you can hear bird-song, the low, sugared sway of the breeze. There is something else there, too:
You let it wrap its tendrils around you, and you decide that it’s hope.

The red dress slid up on your thigh as you crossed your legs. You tapped your bottom lip with your fingertips. The radio buzzed with some British punk group you’d never heard of as Thor gripped the wheel and reclined. You sensed his quick peek over at you and looked back from the corner of your eye.
You were anxious even if you were confident. You had no idea what Bucky had planned but you knew that this trip wouldn’t go as smooth as expected. You sighed and leaned back as you dropped your arm and uncrossed your legs. You had to get Thor off-guard, it was simple enough to distract him.
You let your hand trail along your thigh and took a deep breath so your chest rose. Your hem slipped up even further and you closed your eyes. He hummed and you tried not to grin. You knew he was fighting to watch the road and not you. The moment you appeared in the short red number and matching lipstick, he was on the hook.
“Long ride,” he said coyly, “it’ll be nice to get away, eh?”
“From those two? Any day,” you answered as you opened your eyes, “I’ve just been so…” you let your fingers dangle down between your thighs and quickly retracted it as if it wasn’t at all deliberate, “tense.”
“My brother can be a handful and that American,” he said, “I can see how you’d be so worked up.”
You squirmed and pushed your knees further apart. His hand suddenly clapped down on your thigh and he squeezed. He glanced in the rearview and you bit your lip. You rested your hand on his and felt his fingers go rigid.
“Loki--
“He doesn’t know about before, he won’t know now,” Thor growled as he kneaded your leg.
“I don’t know…” you let your voice trail off, “he’s already so mad at me--”
“I won’t say a word,” he purred.
You swallowed and watched your own fingers. You had to do it. It would dull his defenses. You urged his hand up your skirt and pushed your pelvis forward on the seat. He barely kept the car steady as he felt your bare cunt.
“Oh, honey, you want it badly, don’t you?” he pushed between your folds without hesitation, “no panties…”
“Habit. Your brother demands it,” you rasped as he rubbed your clit. You couldn’t help but quiver.
He was quiet as he kept his fingers moving and listened to your shuddering breaths. You played them up with moans and groans as you arch your back and gripped the door.
“If you prefer me, I could…” his fingertips slickened as they explored further and he prodded along your entrance, “I could take you away. You’ll be far enough before he even knows.”
“Oh…” you gasped, “but… why would you… do that?”
“Look at you, honey,” he taunted, “that cunt--” he shoved a finger into you as he leaned awkwardly over the space between your seats, straining to keep his gaze on the road, “I can’t even fault my brother for his distraction.”
“God,” you squeezed his hand between your thighs as he pushed another finger into you.
It became less of an act as you latched onto his wrist and rocked your hips. His thick digits filled you and curled as the tide rolled through you. You were close to cumming, all the better as he had to buy into your desperation.
“You’ll really take me away?” you whined, “really? I have no other way out but-- you.”
“If you fuck me like you fuck my hand, I’ll keep you forever, honey,” he snarled.
You exclaimed and covered his hand with yours as you tilted against him hungrily. You dug your heels into the floor and lifted your pelvis slightly as you came against his palm. He snickered at your delight and let you ride his hand until you finished.
You fell back limp and he reluctantly removed his hand from your cunt. He reached blindly up and pressed his fingers against your lips. You braced yourself and took in his fingers and sucked your taste off of them. He drew away and sat back in his seat as he rubbed the front of his pants.
“Did you mean it?” you asked as you felt between your legs.
“Fuck my brother. We’ll leave right now,” he said, “I always did like his toys better.”
“We should stop by the shop,” you murmured, “I know where he keeps his stash.”
“His stash?”
“You could have everything that’s his,” you whispered, “everything.”
He considered the suggestion and exhaled. His squinted through the windshield and groaned.
“When we get to the shop, I want you on that desk,” he said as he continued to play with himself, “can’t wait to fuck you in that little dress.”
“I can’t either,” you reached to his lap and he caught your hand.
“No,” he said, “I want to see it all.”
You retracted your arm and pouted. You hugged yourself and shivered dramatically. He glanced over at you again.
“That day in the office, I haven’t stopped thinking of it,” he said, “I can see you’ve suffered just as much as me.”
Your smirk was interrupted by the sudden veering of the car at the impact of another. You cried out as the rubber screeched over the road. The car skidded over the lanes and turned horizontal with the rest of traffic. Another bump on the tail and you were rolling. The airbag deployed and blinded you as the glass and metal crunched past the railing and into the ditch.
You panted in shock as the vehicle stilled at last and you felt along your face and body. There was blood dripping from your hairline and some aches in your neck and back, but you could move and you were alive. You put your palm against the roof and unbuckled the belt and kept from falling on your head. The welts of the restraints burned at your chest and waist.
You squatted and looked over at Thor. He hung from his seat but there was much more blood on him and his blond hair was stained with it. You crawled out through the window and fell into the dirt.
You heard footsteps as they carefully descended the incline and you looked up as a silhouette neared and came clearer. Steve approached the other side of the car and bent to look in the driver side. You heard his voice as he poked the unconscious man inside and he stood again.
“Get up,” he demanded as he came to you, “no time to waste.”
“What?” you let him pull you to your feet, “you were supposed to be at the shop--”
“We’ll get there,” he dragged you up to the rail and stepped over.
You struggled to get over the metal barrier yourself and he nearly had you off your feet as he thrust you towards his waiting car. He opened the passenger door and pointed you inside. You dropped into the seat and touched your sore neck. He closed the door and rounded to his side.
“What’s going on? Bucky said--”
“Bucky wants to make sure you’re not fucking with him,” Steve interrupted and his eyes fell to your skirt. You barely realised how high it was as you were still spinning from the crash.
“You could’ve killed me--”
“You’re a smart girl. You had your seatbelt on,” he said as he bent between the seats and fixed your dress, his fingers lingering on the fabric, “we’ve got a whole day… we get the money and have some fun while Bucky takes care of that other moron.”
“Money?” you asked.
“You’re his little bookkeeper, I’m sure you have the combination to that safe he keeps nestled in the back of the shithole,” he turned the engine and pulled out from the gravel, “a healthy price for your… defection.”
“Fine,” you said coolly, “I’ll help you get it. But what about Lopez?”
“I’ll take care of that fat fuck but that’s another debt,” he replied.
You were quiet as you rubbed your shoulder and tried to clear your head. You were slightly dizzy but fought through it as you tried to redirect your plot. There was still a way out of this. You just had to deal with this idiot instead.
“That day in the club… Fucking Buck, he can be so selfish but I think I’ve waited long enough,” he hissed, “you don’t even know what you haven’t had, sweetheart.”
You looked at him and he met your eyes briefly. You fought not to show your disgust and just batted your lashes.
“Do we have to wait?” you asked as you shook off the cobwebs.
“Hmm--” his voice caught in his throat as you stretched between your seats and touched the front of his pants, “oh.”
He squeezed the steering wheel as you leaned over and rubbed his crotch until you felt it harden. “We’re not far,” you said and held in a grunt as a pang stabbed your neck, it wasn’t as intense as before, “but we have time.”
“Sweet--”
“This is what you wanted… Bucky won’t like it--”
“He won’t know,” Steve interjected, “shit, I can’t--”
You unzipped his pants and he went silent. You slipped your hand down his boxers and pulled out his dick. You stroked him as the noise of the traffic flowed around the car. You held him firmly and moved your hand. It would end soon enough.
He groaned and tensed as you worked him steadily. You’d learned to read men, to use them. They did the same to you but they taught you just as much. The only way out was their own tricks. As you sensed him nearing his release, you placed your lips around his tip and swirled your tongue.
He gasped and his foot pushed down the pedal. You moaned around him and moved your hand faster and faster. It sickened you but you had to commit. You couldn’t let him see through the cracks.
He came in a hot spurt and you struggled to swallow it down without gagging. You sank until he poked at your throat and drank him in. His legs shook and he swore as you lapped up the last of his cum and pulled off of him with a pop.
You sat up, dizzier than before and wiped your lips. He shifted in his seat and brought one hand away from the wheel to zip himself back up. He sniffed and rolled his shoulders.
“That was fuckin’ good,” he said, “I see why Bucky didn’t give up.”
“You know what he’ll do if he finds out,” you said sharply.
“Oh, you can keep me quiet, sweetie,” he said with a crooked grin, “just like that.”
You closed your eyes and collected yourself as he took the ramp and you readied yourself for what came next. You didn’t know if you could do it, if it would work at all. You’d come this far though and couldn’t turn back. If you failed, with all that happened, it would only be worse than before. So you couldn’t.
You watched the streets of New York and as you got closer to the antique shop, you had to keep your hands from shaking. The adrenaline buzzed inside of you. Your mouth was dry and your limbs felt numb. You peered over at Steve as he pulled up to the curb and he looked over at the façade.
“Stay behind me,” he winked as he reached to his belt and unholstered his gun, “I got Lopez. You head for the safe.”
He got out and you did the same. You circled the car as he headed for the front door with his gun low against his thigh. He grabbed the handle and pulled. He raised his hand before he entered and you stayed back as the gunshot echoed from inside. You felt a twinge in your chest; you liked Lopez but he was one of them.
You followed and let the door fall closed behind you. Steve laughed to himself and nodded you ahead of him. You went silent, past the chipped statue and that old grandfather clock.
The office was stolid and still. It brought back a sense of nostalgia and yet felt like a prison. Steve entered behind you as he tucked his gun away.
“Better hurry,” he muttered, “too bad I made so much noise or we could stick around… maybe you could finish what you started.”
“We’ll go somewhere else,” you shrugged as you looked around and went behind Loki’s desk.
You pulled out the drawers and pretended to search. Really you were wasting time, trying to put Steve off alert. He watched and crossed his arms.
“What are you doing?” he grumbled.
“Just making sure we’re not missing anything,” you slid shut the drawer, “whatever, nothing there.”
You went to the cabinet and rolled over your office chair. Steve sat in Loki’s cushioned leather seat and leaned back as you opened the cabinet and bent behind the door and began to wind the numbers. He put his feet up and tossed around a glass orb that usually sat on Loki’s desk.
You turned the handle and the loud metal clank filled the office. You reached inside and pulled out a money bag and loaded it up with the stacks of bills within. You zipped it up and tossed it over the door and it landed on the desk heavily.
Steve sat up as he smiled at the thick pouch. You shoved your arm back in the safe and pulled out the gun on the higher shelf, stowed with the priceless Victorian pocket watch and a pair of diamond cufflinks.
You stood as Steve took the bag  and sat straight. His face paled with surprise as you pulled the trigger and the bullet opened his chest. The chair wobbled under him as he dropped the money and gave a brittle croak.
His hand went to the wound across his front and you kicked shut the safe. You swept around and bent to pick up the money bag. Steve trembled as the blood pulsed from him and the chair creaked.
“Pity,” you said with a smile, “looks like you did miss something.”
You angled the gun and admired it as you hugged the cloth pouch under your arm. You shrugged and left him to his death thralls. You went out into the front room and stopped at the rack of gauche vintage coats. You pulled one on and hid the gun in the inner pocket as you secreted the money in the sleeve.
You exited and stepped out onto the sidewalk. You blotted away the dried blood along your forehead as your heels clicked and you blended into the steady New York foot traffic. You were done running from behind. You would be out of the city before anyone thought to look for you and with the bulk of Loki’s savings you would always be a step ahead.

Need You
Summary: After a case gone wrong, and an injury left unattended, Loki realizes that even Gods need somebody.
Notes: Includes wound depiction and good ole' angst! Also a lil' Wowki but I'm a little bitch baby.
...
When he said it hurt like hell, it hurt like hell.
Each case tended to go wrong in its own unique and terrible way. Whether one of them leaves with a torn shirt and headache, or a deep gash and a broken spirit, one thing was certain; that Mobius and Loki looked out for each other.
Though, Loki would hardly admit he had grown quite fond of the man he called his partner.
Beyond that, he would hardly admit when he really, truly needed his help. He was independent, he knew this, and sometimes asking for the help or pity of another more than once seemed too much mental strain- for both him and whoever had the bad fortune of being alongside him. He hadn't realized the severity of the injury at the time, as a large piece of metal tore away at his abdomen while swimming from an impending tsunami. His magic had already begun to heal him, fixing the initial trauma while the freezing water numbed him.
He has assumed the blood in the water hadn't been his.
Now there he was, wandering aimlessly along the TVA corridors, wishing desperately he could lay his inhibitions to rest all the while sparing his friend the worry. Though, he knew it was unlikely.
The air felt cold against his skin, each step sending a fiery blast of pain across his stomach and up to his back. He grimaced. Pathetic, he thought to himself weakly. Who are you without your power?
"Loki? Loki!"
His voice sounded distant at first, so much he grew concerned he had never heard it at all. A sharp exhale left Loki's mouth as another pang sent shockwaves through his body.
"Oh no- oh no-!"
He stumbled, his legs crossing wildly over each other and he fell into the wall next to him. He began to sink to his knees, the pain becoming overpowering as he fought to stay present. How was it getting worse?
He realized then the wound no longer felt cold. It felt hot, burning as fresh blood spilled from the wound. Loki realized then how little healing had taken place.
"Loki? Hey, hey look at me."
Mobius's voice was soft, calming as it was fearful. Loki wanted to melt into the other, hide from the agony.
"I-I'm sorry," he gasped. "I thought it had healed- I thought- I thought it wasn't this bad-"
"Shh," he whispered, keeping a steady hand on Loki's back. "Loki, can you walk?"
Loki stopped for a moment, his eyes falling to the ground in shame. His breathing was already erratic, jumbling his thoughts and rationality to the point he wasn't sure of anything. He looked up at Mobius now, his eyes scanning his for a sign.
"Come on."
Loki hadn't realized how many people were there with them. Maybe it was adrenaline, or his partial loss of vision from the wound, either way, the voices began to filter in at that moment. Agents and hunters, some workers he had never seen all gathered around them. Mobius had taken one side, while a hunter had him on the other, leading him out of the hall when his body began to go limp. He fought against it, begging himself to stay upright just long enough to prove he was capable. But he wasn't, and they knew this. His knees buckled beneath him, sending both him and the other two staggering forward with an "oh-!"
He could feel them ease him to the ground, pain shooting through him again as he made contact with the floor- causing him to cry out.
"We need to address the wounds here," Mobius said, his voice sharp and heavy. "He's deteriorating, either we let him use magic or we heal him ourselves."
"We can't just let that happen, we have to be outside of the TVA," someone said. "We need to take him somewhere else."
As they spoke, others had taken to pressing against his wound to suppress the bleeding. At first, it was agony. But after a while, he felt a warmth come over his body, a peace he had never felt as the pain melted away. He knew it wasn't supposed to happen, Mobius frantically calling his name being a sure sign, but the relief was something he couldn't deny.
"Loki! Stay with us, come on-"
Before he slipped into sleep, the last thing he saw was Mobius over him, eyes wide and brimming with tears. God, he was tired. But he regretting falling asleep all the same.
...
"If I would've known he was hurt, I wouldn't have taken my eyes off him, what more is there to understand?"
Mobius looked at Renslayer for a moment. Defiance wasn't typically in his nature, though he'll admit his actions spoke otherwise. He was more a calm deviant, not driven by a harsh nature but rather a calm and collected one. She sighed, resting her pointer and thumb on the bridge of her nose.
"I know, I know. But we can't have events like that happen, Mobius. Half our team was distracted, imagine if the variant had struck then?"
"You know I respect you, Renslayer. I really do, I admire you and you know that. But this just seems wrong, he's still a person," Mobius said, frowning. "I know in the grander scheme of things we have a lot to worry about but I saw humanity out there. A collective force of good working toward an unspoken goal."
"Which is?"
"Making sure variant or not, we're taking care of each other."
...
Loki woke on the couch that night.
Wait, couch?
He had expected to still be on the floor. Though he knew Mobius would never, it wasn't out of the picture that another agent might let him stay on the ground. After all, they weren't too fond of him. He went to stretch, the sharp pains from his stomach stopping him in his tracks as he remembered why he was there.
The room was dark, dark enough that beyond his fixed point on the couch, Loki could hardly see a thing. A voice pierced the air, causing him to jump.
"Hey, how are you feeling?"
As Loki realized who it was, he sank back into the couch.
"Fine," he mumbled. Mobius raised an eyebrow.
"Really? You didn't seem too fine back there when you were bleeding out in the halls of the TVA."
"Well, I was," Loki snapped, staring up at the ceiling. He realized how foolish he sounded, but at that point, he didn't care.
"Loki, what happened on that mission?" Mobius asked gently, ignoring the other's outburst. Loki sighed a bit, trying to shift his position.
"I didn't-" he cut himself off with a wince as he moved wrong, the pain burning at first, then turning into a dull ache. Mobius looked down at him worriedly.
"I didn't think it was that bad," he said hurriedly. "I was so cold from the water I didn't feel it. I just assumed the blood hadn't been mine."
It was grim. The idea of the blood in the water was so common for that moment, so anticipated that he had nearly bled out yet speculated it was from somebody else. It brought into focus the severity of even human apocalypses.
"But the blood," Mobius said, frowning. "I should have been able to see it on your shirt when we got back. I didn't see any."
"My magic had healed it for the most part," Loki said. "Just not enough. Once I returned it must've begun to reverse."
As Loki spoke, he noticed Mobius reaching for the hem of his shirt. He quickly blocked his hand with an offended "Hey." Mobius chuckled, shaking his head.
"I'm just trying to see it, come on."
"You don't need to," Loki glared. But of course his efforts didn't deter Mobius, who kept his steady gaze.
"Loki," he said gently. "Come on, let me see."
Loki sighed, wordlessly lifting the hem of his shirt to reveal the array of wounds, accented by the much larger wound that ran across the bottom of his abdomen. He heard Mobius's breath catch.
"Geez..." He murmured, gently brushing a finger across the uninjured skin, which even then was sore.
"Why didn't you say anything?" He asked sadly. Loki cast his eyes to the side.
"An unspoken rule amongst warriors in Asgard was to each their own. It wasn't uncommon to receive wounds in battle, it was seen as noble to keep them to yourself."
"Well, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard," Mobius said with raised eyebrows. He added a hasty, "No offense."
"No, I agree. They were all morons," he said lightheartedly.
Mobius laughed now, bowing his head as he did so. Loki smiled a bit, still somewhat troubled by the pain but not enough to mention it.
"This is your apartment, then?" He said, trying to initiate conversation so Mobius wouldn't see as he began to sit up.
"Hey, not so fast," Mobius said, placing a hand on the small of Loki's back. "Your powers may be back, but you have a ways to go."
"I'm alright, really."
"I'm beginning to think that phrase holds less ethos each time I hear it."
Loki huffed, barely managing to sit all the way up. He looked around the room as his eyes adjusted. It was a small apartment, most of his items being placed in the living area. Books, dusty empty bottles, wooden furniture accented with water stains and loose change. The carpet was plush, he noticed, like something you would see from the nineties. It was all very cozy and welcoming.
"Sorry about the mess," he said, assuming that's what Loki had been looking at. "I didn't really have time to clean."
"Mess?" Loki frowned. "Mobius, you bring me into your home and you really assume I'm going to judge the state of it?"
"Well, to be fair, I don't get a lot of visitors," he smiled. "Now you need some rest, alright?"
If Loki had just an ounce more strength, he would've shot back some snarky response. This time, however, he found himself too tired to think of one, so instead, he flashed a quick smile.
"I'll be here if you need me."
If you need me.
Loki pondered on the words for a while. Maybe it was the way he said it, or the weariness finally catching up with him. Before he never would have admitted he need someone, much less someone with no relation to him. But in that darkened room he gathered he had a change of heart. As he felt himself slowly fading into the warm embrace of sleep, he felt a hand run across his head, gently brushing his unkempt hair back in a stroking motion. He wanted to open his eyes, to see Mobius, but he stayed still just long enough to hear the words,
"Glad you're alright, Lokes."
Before contently falling asleep.

Loki’s Game: 1
Tumblr media
Summary: You are working at the Avenger compound as a ICT and security specialist. Everyone thinks you are doing a good job, but you procrastinate a lot. You lie effortlessly, or so you think. When no-one other than the God of Lies and Mischief, Loki joins the team. He quickly discovers that you are lying and decides to take advantage of that.
Word Count: 2.498 words
Warnings: No smut in this chapter, but definitely in the upcoming chapters. Overall story warning: dubious consenst, BDSM, forced orgasms, overstimulation, manipulation, angst
A/N: A multiple fic which I started on AO3 and Wattpad. Thougth maybe some of you will like it as well. Next chapters will be sunday.
The alarm of your mobile started to ring. The screen showed it was 08.10 a.m. That leaves 20 minutes to get dressed and go downstairs. Almost finished you thought while typing on your laptop. You typed like your life depended on it. With your work finally finished you put on the clothes you had laid out and quickly brushed your teeth. Why do I always do this to myself? You had a month to make a new security plan, but you started a week before the deadline. The plan wasn’t bad, but it could be more detailed. Now you had to go to Tony and Steve, explaining your not-so-detailed-plan. On top of that, you were tired. You had set an alarm in the middle of the night, just so you had something to show this morning.
How, you did not know, but you made it through your presentation. Steve was supportive. Tony and he decided you could have more time to work out the details. Luckily, the presentation was recorded. When they started to ask questions, you made up answers on the spot. You now had to implement those answers for your next deadline. So, they didn’t figure out that you lied to them. They gave you two weeks. This time, I am going to start on time! Sitting at your desk you were distracted, checking social media, and watching YouTube. Suddenly you got a call from Tony, asking you to come to the living room.
Walking inside you saw that Natasha, Clint, Steve, and Tony were all there. “How is your plan coming together?” Tony asked you. “Fine, it may even be finished before the deadline” you lied. Great, after this you have to get to work. The door opened and Thor walked in. Besides him walked another men you recognized immediately, Loki. “I still think this is a bad idea” Clint said. “I know, but we need him. Thor has vouched for him” Steve commented. Thor had a tense look, Loki was just smirking and looking around. Nobody made eye-contact with him. Tony clapped his hands together “Well.. ehm.. welcome, I guess. I will give you a tour, this is (Y/N) by the way. She will give you security clearance and tell you how to work with Jarvis.” You raised your eyebrow at Tony “What is happening here?”
“Oh, I didn’t tell you. There was some suspicious activity, Loki is here to help. Or so he says. I wanted to tell you, but you were so busy with the new security plan, I didn’t want to disturb you” he said. “Oh, yeah. Super busy, lot of late nights. No problem” you lied. Lots of late nights watching Netflix that was.. you thought.  You saw Loki staring at you. “He will be in the room across yours.” he then turned to Loki “Try not to disturb her, she’s one of my best employees and very busy.” You felt yourself blush at the compliment. Loki’s eyes were still fixed on you. You started to feel bad for Tony, he really thought you had been working hard. You were mentally scolding yourself for being so lazy. I will fix it in the next two weeks.
“Plan is almost finished then?” Natasha asked you. You nodded, not wanting to go into much detail of your not-so-detailed-plan. “Great, I need your help next week, think you’ve got the time?” she asked you. Shit, no.. but well, if I work a few all-nighters I have. Who needs sleep anyway? “Yeah of course, I was just telling that the plan will probably be finished before the deadline” you said. “You sure about that?” Loki said in a dry voice. Everyone just stared at him, nobody had expected him to join the conversation. “Back off, Reindeer Games. She knows what she’s doing” Tony said. Loki’s eyes narrowed at you and you looked away to the ground. Thor seemed to notice his brother staring at you “I will join the tour, shall we go now?” he said to Loki and Tony. With that the three of them left. The rest of the team was still discussing how they were feeling about Loki’s presence.
“Where’s Bruce?” Steve asked. “After his last encounter with Loki, he thought it was best to stay in the lab” Natasha told him. Steve smiled at you “I will check on him. Thor or Tony will bring Loki for the security clearance after the tour, call me if you don’t want to be alone with him.” You watched him leave and then left yourself. You sat back down at your desk and started to work on your secret planning. First you listed everything you needed to get done to finish the security plan. Then you made an overview of your time the next two weeks. I should have told Natasha I didn’t have time. With this planning that meant at least two nights you had to work through. You had to plan them accordingly, so nobody would notice how exhausted you were. Luckily, there were two days most of the team would be away. I hate myself for not starting on time. After your planning, your eye caught the Netflix logo on one of your tabs and you decided that you could watch one episode, before starting your long workday.
You were halfway through the episode. “Busy?” a low voice asked you from behind. You jumped from your chair and quickly closed your laptop. Turning around you saw Loki leaning against the wall in the doorway. His posture was casual and relaxed, but you couldn’t help starting to feel like you were in trouble. He walked towards you and you forgot how to breath. He took a seat in the chair across from yours and put his feet on your desk. He was leaning back slightly. His eyes never left yours. His eyes were a beautiful emerald colour, but the gaze they had made you feel like a deer in headlights. Suddenly, you were very aware that if he decided to kill you, he could with a snap of his finger. “Lost your tongue?” he asked. That’s when you realized that you hadn’t answered his question. “No, I’m not busy. You just startled me, that’s all” you said. Your voice sounded a little higher than you had hoped. You took a deep breath and sat back down in your seat.
Loki smirked at you “But I thought you were extremely busy?”. His voice sounded too innocent for the look he was giving you. “W- well.. I- I am. But I- eh.. I meant.. just knock next time you come here.” you stammered. “That didn’t sound convincing at all” he said. You saw a small glint in his eyes, which appeared immediately. “Thor said I should come here for security clearance, so I could walk freely around the building.” “Yeah right, ehm.. a moment please” you said. You started to type on your computer, entering Loki’s clearance. Feeling more nervous every second that passed. Loki was still staring at you. God, I wished he just looked at something else. You started to type faster and began your explanation of Jarvis to him. He cut you off after one sentence and rolled his eyes. “My brother might not know much about your primitive technology, but I do. No need to explain it, little one” You blushed at the nickname. “S- so eh.. you have now clearance and can walk around freely. If there’s nothing else I can do for you..” you didn’t finish the sentence and motioned at the door.
Loki stood up from his chair. Thank god you thought. However, he didn’t walk towards the door. He walked around your desk and stood right behind you. You felt goosebumps starting to form. “W- what are you doing?” you asked him. Your voice trembled. He put one hand on your shoulders and leaned down. His touch froze your whole body. You felt his breath tickle your earlobe. Fuck, he’s hot. Your breath hitched, you were surprised by your own thought. Where did that come from? You heard Loki chuckle in your ear and the first instinct you had was to jump up from your chair. He didn’t let you and held you firm in place with his hand on your shoulder. He is so much stronger than me. You started to panic, not knowing what to do. You sat as still as possible and stared at your screen. The screen was showing your episode on Netflix. “You are not going to finish” he whispered in your ear. “I wonder what Stark thinks of his model employee, wasting her time, his time, everyone’s time. I was surprised they didn’t notice your lies” he put his other hand also on your other shoulder.
You started to breath faster, unable to make up your mind. Running was not an option, and you were unable to speak a word, let alone form a sentence and tell him to fuck off. The sudden image of Loki bending you over your desk and taking you from behind crossed your mind. What the hell? No, not with him. You kept it a secret that you were extremely attracted to dominant men. You were ashamed of it. It felt demeaning to have a man control you like that. Usually, you had strong will-power and were opinionated. In bed with your former partners, you always were on top or in control. “You know, the soldier told me about your new security plan, he was very impressed with your presentation this morning. Did he know you made everything up on the spot?” You didn’t know how he knew that. You lowered your head, staring at the ground. “No” you whispered. Loki stroked his thumb across your collar bone. You took a deep breath, unable to decide if you were fearful of him or turned on by his touch.
You suddenly felt his tongue against your earlobe, flicking it. He started to kiss softly against the top of your neck. Trailing downwards towards your collar bone. His other hand travelled down to your breast. You forgot how to breath again and felt yourself heat up. I should do something. Get away, tell him to stop. But you didn’t move a muscle or say a word. He was massaging your breast and you felt your upper body lean into his touch. Damn.. you thought. This felt so wrong but also so right. “I think I am going to like my stay here” he hummed against your collar bone. The vibration on your skin sends a shot of arousal to your core. He suddenly grabbed your throat and squeezed it to cut off your breathing. “From now on you do as I tell you. One wrong move and I will expose you to Stark, you got that?” He loosened his grip somewhat, but not enough for you to get air. You started to nod as fast as you could. He laughed “If you try to scream or tell anyone about this you will pay.” He then let go of your throat. “Now, be a good girl and get back to work” he whispered in your ear. You were breathing heavily, trying to process everything that just happened. When you looked behind you, you saw that Loki was already gone.
When you caught your breath, you contemplate your options. If you told someone about it, you surely would be fired. Maybe I can tell Steve? He always has my back. But you also lied to Steve a lot, and he was so impressed by your work. Nope, not an option. Maybe quitting? There was no way you would ever find a job you loved so much and paid so well. Plus, you have gotten quite close with most of the members on the team. I could tell Natasha. She might know a way out. But she would surely ask why you hadn’t castrated Loki, or at least tried, when he started to touch you. You couldn’t admit to her that a part, buried deep within you, liked to be treated that way. I could finish my work, and if Loki tries anything again then tell them. They would believe you over the God of Lies after all. And with your work done, Loki couldn’t show any proof of his accusations. The only other thing you needed to do was to avoid him as much as possible. After this encounter, you didn’t want to know what he would want you to do. Maybe a little… you thought. He is tall, and you could feel his abs through his leather jacket. If you didn’t know anything about him and met him in a club, you definitely would have let him take you home.
Your thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. You snapped your head to see who it was. Thor was standing there. “Are you okay?” he asked. You froze, thinking he had witnessed the whole thing. “I’m fine” you said, hoping he would believe the lie. “Good, Loki likes to scare and play with people. So, I thought I check up on you” he gave you a genuine smile. “Also… I wondered if maybe you would want to have dinner with us tonight?”. You looked at him with a questioning look on your face. “Sorry?” you asked him. Thor started to let his hand go through his hair. His posture changed a bit, he looked more nervous. “Well, bringing Loki here was necessary. But I’m worried about how he will fit in and he needs to. Plus, he will be here a long time. So, I was hoping you would help me with him and maybe get to know him a bit? If he knows someone, he usually lights up.” he gave you a pleading look. “You two actually are very similar in some ways.” he said quickly. “N- not that I mean.. I didn’t mean..” he stammered. “I didn’t mean it as an insult, I just think you two could be friends, that’s all” he sighed. I really don’t have time to spend a whole evening trying to befriend the guy that just made my life hell. I really need to work. You looked at Thor, who was putting on his best puppy eyes. You sighed “Fine, but I have to finish some things for work. So, I cannot make it too late.” Thor grinned widely at you. He walked towards you and engulfed you in a big hug. “Mortal over here, Thor” you said while he was squeezing the tiny amount of air you had in your lungs out. “Thank you Lady (Y/N)!” he boomed. “Just come to his room around six o’clock, I will take care of dinner.”
Thor left your office. Great, tonight is going to be so much fun you thought sarcastically. You turned towards your laptop and opened your document, finally getting to work on your security plan.
