The Price of Perfection | n romanoff
Tumblr media
Summary: Natasha will stop at nothing to be perfect, but what will it cost?
Warnings: body dysmorphia, negative self image, toxic thoughts, self hatred, tiny mention of SA
wc: 1k
notes: this is depressing as shit. I wrote it one go (again) and tbh I don’t think it makes sense. I just started writing and didn’t stop. Yeah… vent fic idk. Anyway, enjoy, you angst lovers :)
-⧗-
Mirrors.
A symbol of vanity, casting reflections upon the eyes of the beholder. They’ve seen the most lavish ballgowns and the sleepiest eyes, countless discarded outfits and miniature fashion shows.
Used with friends, with families, with loved ones, a way to see one’s favourite people in the same place. They brought so much happiness without so much as a second thought, so why did she hate them so much?
Whilst the rest of the world crowded to take pictures in the mirror, Natasha had hers concealed away like an antique. A pale sheet usually covered the large reflective glass on her wall, she couldn’t bear the sight.
It wasn’t the mirror itself that caused such repulsion in the Russian’s stomach, no. It was the figure she had staring back at her that left her paralysed in disgust. She avoided all reflections like the plague, far too afraid of what she would find if she looked.
Mirrors hid nothing. They were as raw as could be, every flaw highlighted like the freckles on her pale skin. Natasha never cared for the way her body looked, it served her just fine, but something had shifted lately, something small in her mind triggering an avalanche.
How do you even begin to understand something that has been objectified your entire life? How do you view it as anything more than a way to assist a mission, anything more than something for other people to break at will. The visible scars were one thing, but the invisible marks of the many hands that had slid grotesquely around her waist and pawed at her chest like pieces of meat were what stuck out the most as she obsessed over her reflection.
Perfection was a slippery slope.
And Natasha Romanoff craved perfection.
It was all she knew. But gone were the days of having instructors barking orders to ensure she maintained that divine perfection. She was on her own now, but was that a good thing?
Her self control was impeccable but her eyes told another story. They burned across the expanse of her stomach in the dim bathroom light, slender fingers tugging at the flesh on her hips whilst her jaw was set rigid. The cool air barely raised a hair on her arms as she picked herself apart, falling deeper and deeper into her nightmares as red lines began to form across her limbs and torso.
Where was the perfection she had been told she was?
Was it buried underneath the blanket of snow that coated her homeland in its icy beauty? Or was it simply a ruse, a false pretense, meant only to manipulate her further into the ultimate weapon.
Whatever it was, she couldn’t see it now. Even through blurry eyes filled with tears that warped her reflection further, Natasha still stretched and pulled at her skin, ignoring the burn that ignited just under the surface.
How can someone possibly want to love someone like her? A freak, a mess. Bile rose in her throat the longer she panicked, her eyes frantically darting between countless scars and layers of muscle she only perceived as extra weight.
Where had she gone so wrong?
Her mind, usually her sharpest weapon, unmatched in the face of the enemy, had turned on itself and left her the victim in the lonely battlefield. But who was she fighting, if not the figure who mimicked her every move and felt so familiar yet so horrendously foreign.
She didn’t know who she was anymore. Who did her body belong to, because it certainly wasn’t her. Would anyone want her in this state, or would they be just as repulsed as she was after mere seconds of inspection.
“But you’re beautiful.”
What lies. Her grip on reality may have faltered, like fingers slipping on sodden rocks, but she knew what beauty was. And yet now, face to face with the one so many people had admired, she couldn’t see the so-called beauty.
A breathy laugh escaped her lips, yet her expression did nothing to match it. It wasn’t that of happiness, but of desperation, of insanity, the final parts of her slipping away as dysmorphia finally took its hold.
She would never be beautiful, not to herself. Maybe for a fleeting moment when the sun shone just right and her chest felt a little lighter, but that feeling never lasted. All it took was one glance at her reflection in a window for the clouds to settle back inside her mind, reminding her over and over that she would never look the way she wanted. No matter how much she craved it.
The sheet went back up. Her eyes stayed glued to the sidewalk in fear of catching herself in a shop window, and slowly Natasha felt herself slipping away. Her close circle barely saw her anymore, she didn’t want them to see what she saw, and her fork only pushed her food around her plate instead of allowing her a taste.
She knew the price of perfection was high, but it felt astronomical as she scrambled after it, neglecting her life for a glimpse of that feeling. Yet it seemed the harder she tried, the further it felt, leaving her exhausted day after day.
But she never quit. That wasn’t Natasha Romanoff. If she wanted something, she got it, no matter the sacrifice.
But she was fighting a losing battle. Her clouded mind never once gave way to the idea that she was already perfect. How could it? She wasn’t happy with her body, no matter how much she lost or how far she ran.
To the rest of the world, she was the epitome of perfection.
But to herself, she would never be enough. No matter what.
And no compliment could fix that. Not when her self image was so warped that she couldn’t see straight anymore.
She was, and always would be, the reason for her downfall. No enemy could take her down quite like her own mind could and it was the only thing that gave her a sense of control.
But for the price of perfection, could she give it all up?

Steve x doppleganger reader (established if its ok)
One mission could use a doppleganger as a distraction as we understand steve is protective of his s/o. He tries to talk her out of it but she would like to help . In the event of a mission she pretends to be his double when in need to split up and if shes in her real form and able to sneak around then mimic her targets fate which can lead them to their death by madness and then resulting in the prediction of their death . When she mimics friends its not harmful just fun and sometimes silly . Copy cat , tonys nickname for her fits her well ^~^. If steve and y/n feel down they hae a cuddle session in their room one time steve asks her if she can draw her she happily agrees and with her form and a sweet pose hes at awe his girl sketching the memories and her in a personal sketchbook
yes.
all the yes.
but....i'm feeling enemies to lovers on this.
the very first time Steve is introduced to you is during a meeting
you show up right beside Fury, thumbs tucked in tactical belt, looking exactly like Steve himself
he gets to know you but always with someone else's face
Maria Hill, Natasha, Tony
you get captured multiple times during various missions
you're a decoy, and Steve hates that you can actually run like he does
overall, you've racked up more hours as a POW than as an agent, and he still doesn't know what you really look like
you were tortured for what you know, but you've actively walked away or zoned out during briefings about the mission objectives in order to not have intel to divulge
Steve hates literally everything about that
finally, after that nagging drive in him has settled to protectiveness, the group is trapped where magic/spells/shifting can not exist, and he turns to find this creature that Steve doesn't recognize
the fight is still on
you, a shapeshifter, battle the enemy in all kinds of ways: arms and legs, tentacles, weapons, and stealth
your body/form can do it all
Steve's mesmerized
you're horrified that he now knows what you truly look like
worse than a Skrull, more exotic than a photostatic veil
Steve notices you pull away from the whole team after the mission, and as much as he hated that you were bait (and that you were more comfortable in anyone else's form than your own), he tries to bring you into the fold
makes you feel like an Avenger, rather than a pawn
[[[[oh this got way outta hand]]]]
then comes the mission where you drive a man to (essentially) suicide because you mimicked him and his death
you're upset after the team finds out the henchmen were lied to; they thought the Big Bad was working toward a much higher good than he was
that manipulation makes you emotional, and Steve comforts you until you both fall asleep
unconscious is the only time you return to your natural form, which Steve hasn't seen since the 'anti-magic' of that one mission, and you wake thinking you've accidentally repulsed him again
it doesn't matter what you look like
Steve knows your heart and how hard you fight for what's right
all else is...unimportant
friends. that's all you are now. friends.
that's what Steve tells himself
mission after mission, you two bond, the moral center of the team because you both look past appearances to what's in the heart of the people you're fighting
resting together
that's all it is
resting after missions. arms and legs entwined. you change back to someone else the moment you wake every single day because you think Steve hasn't really looked at you
naturally
vulnerable
physically you.
Steve asks one day to sketch you, a normal routine for him to wind down and get out of his head after fights
but he presses
you
no, you
he wants to draw you
your body
your real body
and it's...intimate in a way you never thought a human would accept you
Steve looks awed the entire time
cuddles you, arms and legs entwined, even as you shift back into a teammate's form for safety
he waits until you're asleep--until you change back into you proper--before kissing your temple and letting himself drift
it'll take time
but eventually, he'll show you
he'll convince you that he sees, that he knows who and what you are and he loves you
each and every form of you.
Tumblr media
not a flubbin' clue what happened here, but i'mma roll with it.
Hope you enjoyed!

- They find it more interesting to sing about the lives of their friends than they do their own, in their eyes, their lives haven’t been nearly as interesting as their friends lives have
- Karissa has the ability to mimic anyone’s voice so long as she’s heard their voice once
- Ambrose and Constance have adopted Karissa as their younger sister

King of Mischief (Chapter 6)
Tumblr media
Chapter 6 (A Way In)
Word count: 4.4k
T/w: This chapter contains injuries, war, mentions of weapons & sharp objects, manipulation, gaslighting, betrayal, pregnancy, and foul language, read at your own discretion.
Author's note: Omg hello readers! I feel really bad for not updating in the longest time, I've been occupied with presentations before going back to college in two weeks. I'll try to update a couple of chapters before I go back to boring uni life, I'll still write once I go in but the updates would be snail-paced, anyways I LOVE YOU!
“Your Majesty, our soldiers are ready for the second attack.” Ymir knelt down behind her as Amora peered through an orb that showed the situation of Georgia. “Good, make sure you bring her to me, alive.” She emphasized the state that she wanted you to be in once they’ve captured you.
“Yes, my Queen.” The frost giant nodded in obedience before he made his way out of the mother ship. Lorelei was left with her elder sister. “Sister.. I wonder why you want to take her so badly? Is it because you are bitter about the fact that she married your lover? Or is it because you want to see him suffer by killing his wife yourself?” The younger one strode towards her sibling.
“You’re correct Lorelei.. But, it is deeper than that. That princess has something that I truly desire. Something rare and special. It could give me supreme power over the Nine Realms and further. I want it, I long for it.” The Enchantress stared at the vision of you in the orb. Lorelei tilted her head at the blonde sorceress. “You’re already reigning over the universe sister.. What more do you want?”
Amora’s eyes diverted to look at her younger sibling, “Not yet. As long as that Arolfian princess is alive and free, she is going to be a barricade to us in ruling the universe. She’s a danger to our empire. If I am able to get through to her, she might be of great use to us all.” She smirked evilly. “As much use as that old man?” Lorelei questioned to which the latter shook her head. “Oh the old man is only a small part of the plan.. Once I get her, you’ll see..” The sorceress didn’t want to spoil too much about her next plan, though, it is expected that the plan would be a massive one.
Tumblr media
“You’re certain that my wife is safe in that dimension?” Loki walked alongside Strange as they went out of the portal to northern Georgia. “Yes, don’t worry.. She’ll be safe.. Unless someone snitches which I’m sure none of us would do.” The doctor huffed out and analyzed the situation. Everyone was grateful that the second battle ensued in a woodsy part of Georgia that was far from major communities. The God knew that there was a reason why Amora and her army chose somewhere farther from the Avengers Compound, deep inside, he felt uneasy as if something bad would transpire soon.
The Avengers assembled themselves, knowing that they were Earth’s very own line of defense against these otherworldly beings that were about to engage in the second wave of war. All of them spectated the rows of monsters and mages coming out of the portals, getting themselves ready for the fight. There was a difference though. Thor noticed that a giant, circular platform hovering over the rest of the enemies, on it was the Enchantress herself, overlooking her soldiers proudly with her sister, Lorelei beside her.
“Look! Over there.. That’s Amora.” The God of Thunder pointed towards the direction of the floating platform. “It seems like the witch has come to play..” Natasha stated. “Alright.. Let’s stop this Hocus Pocus shit once and for all.” Tony tapped on his arc reactor to put his nanotech helmet on as the swarm of villains neared. Hogun shouted on the top of his lungs, unofficially commencing the battle and all of them charged towards the mob.
Lady Sif and the Warriors Three fought vigorously, slicing and cutting their opponents with no mercy. Tony, Wanda, Vision and Sam flew up to strike the foes from above, Iron Man and Vision blasting them with powerful rays, burning through the enemies’ bodies whilst Wanda made some of them levitate and then dropping them from a tall height, crushing their bones. The Falcon on the other hand, ambushed some of the villains and with the help of some birds in the area, particularly the eagles and hawks, he was able to injure them by having the birds peck their eyes out and tear their flesh apart.
Steve with his vibranium shield and Thor with his Mjolnir, used their respective weapons by flunging them towards rows of attackers. Thor even used his mighty hammer to knock down one of the Frost Giants in the head. Natasha and Clint worked as a pair and backed each other up, using their mastery in combat fighting to repel the enemies. Bullet by bullet, arrow by arrow were released and each one not missing the target. Banner on the other hand had transformed into the incredible Hulk, attacking the bigger sized monsters that were a part of Amora’s line of defense.
The Spiderman swung from tree to tree, halting the enemies on their tracks by shooting his web fluid on their limbs, the boy also made some traps and obstructions on their way to slow them down so that the other Avengers could tackle them in a breeze while Strange and a few of his proteges fought off the sorcerers and mages with their ancient magic accompanied by Asgard’s very own supreme sorcerer, Loki. Everything was going on smoothly and they’ve all decided that their goal was to get to where the Enchantress was on her platform.
Tumblr media
“My Queen, we have located the Midgardian sorcerer with the Eye of Agamotto, do you want us to retrieve him for you?” The old mage that attacked you last time appeared behind Amora.
“No, I’ll handle him. Make sure the others are ready to get her.” She grinned sinisterly, dismissing the mage before she summoned her powers to find Strange who was in the middle of battling the mystical creatures. There were few who knew what the Enchantress was able to do and to what extent her powers were. The most dangerous thing she could do was to control the minds of the creatures who held the Infinity Stones.
No, she wasn’t looking to use the stones for her advantage, those rocks didn’t matter to her, not when the Avengers had something much more powerful hidden beneath one of the many kinds of dimensions. That was the problem, where did they hide you, she needed to know and Strange was the only one who had access to the knowledge. Like a virus, her powers traveled through the battlefield, in search of Midgard’s strongest sorcerer.
And then whoosh, Amora was able to penetrate Strange’s mind with the help of the Time Stone, the jewel acting as a passageway into the inner depths of his soul. With his mind being overtaken by the sorceress, Strange stopped fighting and instead, stood still with his eyes wide open. The enemies knew that their leader had already taken over him and made a point to not bother the two sorcerers while they fought in his psyche.
In a blink of an eye, Strange was transported into his own head, the place was pure white and misty. Behind the fog, he saw a silhouette, one that looked familiar, it was the Enchantress.
“So, this is the infamous Stephen Strange, the best sorcerer that Midgard could ever offer. Such a shame that you are not fighting for me.” She walked leisurely towards him with a smirk on her face. “Yeah… No thanks. I’d rather keep my free will than work under your dark empire.” The man spoke in a sarcastic tone. “What do you want?” He added.
“Well, I’m just looking around… For some useful information.” She smiled menacingly. “Oh and don’t worry.. I’m not here for your lousy stone.. Nor am I here to enchant you. If you answer my question, I’ll spare you and your friends’ lives.” Amora finally went face to face with the doctor. “And what’s your question?” He asked sternly, throwing daggers at her with his gaze.
“Where is she?” The woman maintained her daunting smirk. “I have no idea what you are talking about..” Strange answered and to which the female clicked her tongue. “You sorcerers.. Always acting stupid when you are asked a question. Tell me.. And I shall keep my word. Sorceress to sorcerer.” She tilted her head and did a fake innocent expression. Strange gave her an unapologetic look and shrugged his shoulders, keeping his silence.
“Fine.. I guess I’d have to scavenge it myself.” With a step back from Amora, the male began fighting her with his magic. Summoning a cane and trying to strike her but she was faster, throwing magical power balls at him. “You’re sneaky, Strange.” With another throw, she succeeded in breaking the magic cane. “I like it.” She grinned. The man tried to confine her by summoning magical chains to tie her down but it was no match for her mystical strength and she broke it as if they were made of paper.
“You should consider joining me. It would be helpful to have you on my defense line.” She looked behind him and saw a blurry apparition of you in the Mirror Dimension. She got ahold of Stephen and threw him to the side forcefully as though the male weighed like nothing. Amora took off in the direction of the vision, being absolutely sure that that was one of Strange’s memories. Just then, she slipped as the sorcerer created a rope around her ankle and yanked it.
“Not so fast.” He claimed. “You’d have to get over me first.” The male breathlessly spoke. “Okay.” She was the one to shrug this time, right before she forgathered the dead patients from his memories to hold him down, their limbs reaching out from under him and trapping him. “Remember them? These poor people you had turned down just because you wanted a more.. What do you say? Exciting? Challenging cases that match your level? And also the ones that you’ve failed during your early years.. All the pain you’ve put them through just because of your ego..”
The Enchantress wasn’t done with her torture yet, she found another painful memory that he had, one that involved him losing his steady hands, oh, even better, when he lost Christine; his lovely and supportive Christine. She closed her fists tightly, indirectly causing pain to Strange’s hands so he couldn’t do his sorcery. Then, she projected an image of Christine in front of him; the exact memory of when she lost hope and gave up on him. “You see Strange, with your ego, you’ve actually hurt and killed so many.. More than the amount of people you’ve saved. If you keep letting your ego blind you, billions of Midgardians shall be killed.. Unless, you give her to me.” She sighed softly whilst the man was in agony.
Amora turned away from him and unhurriedly walked towards the vision, every step she took got her closer to the knowledge of where you were. “Hmm. Mirror Dimension. Smart choice..” She spoke in a low volume. “You’ll.. Never.. Get.. To.. Her.” Strange struggled. “Not without my help..” He continued and it made the sorceress laugh. “You Midgardians.. Always underestimating people. I myself was a student of your late Sorcerer Supreme. I’ve learnt further than she could ever teach anyone. Your stupid sling ring is useless, it only suppresses your powers.” She turned to look at the doctor before leaving his mind. “Goodbye.”
Tumblr media
“Where the fuck is Strange?!” Tony Stark shouted out, the Avengers had been fighting with the beasts for a while now and it doesn’t seem like it was stopping anytime soon. Doctor Strange was the one that they could rely on aside from Wanda, Vision and Loki to get to the Enchantress. The three of their most trusted heroes were busy defending themselves and killing the enemies but where was the doctor? “I have a visual of him, he’s standing there like a fucking dumbass.” Sam Wilson flew across the war stricken forest and once he landed in front of Strange, the man shook him to get him back to reality.
“Stephen! Wake up man! Why the hell are you standing here? You wanna get yourself killed?!” The Falcon screamed in his emotionless face before he was attacked by a Dark Elf, his head was hit by the creature’s stone club, making him lose consciousness. Thankfully, Wanda came to the rescue and banished the being with her magic, killing him from the inside. She hurried to Strange and figured that he was enchanted in a way so she did what she had to do; get in his mind to release him.
In a matter of seconds, she had access to his mind easily and found the male struggling from a distance. The woman saw the horrific scene unfolding in front of her, zombie-like hands holding Strange down, an apparition of a woman in front of him, telling him horrible, mean things to him and a defenseless and weak Stephen Strange looking down. Wanda pushed Christine’s vision away and stepped on the hands that were keeping him in bondage; all of them disappearing after she did so. “Strange.. She did this to you didn’t she? What does she want?” The female questioned him urgently but he didn’t budge nor did he lift his head.
“Strange, wake up! This is all in your head! Don’t let her get to you!” She lifted his head to look at his eyes. “Wake up please! We need you! The world needs you!” None of her words seem to reach out to him. “Stephen Strange! What was she looking for in your head?” Without saying a single phrase, his eyes averted to the vision of you behind her, exactly where Amora went to earlier. Wanda’s head whipped towards the direction of his stare. “She knows..” The woman stood up from her kneeling position and disappeared from his mind zone. She wanted to help him but there wasn’t anything she could do, the doctor was the only one that could save himself from his own psyche. But for now, she has to warn the others.
And with that, Wanda returned to her own physical body, leading the mindless Strange to a safer area before leaving him to convey the message to the rest of the team. “Strange has been compromised. Someone ought to protect him in case they try to hurt him.” She touched her ear monitor. “Wait what? How?” The Black Widow stopped in her tracks to ask the Scarlet Witch, she was definitely bamboozled. How could someone mystically strong as Strange be defeated so easily until he couldn’t fight anymore?
“It’s Amora. She went into his head, messed him up, broke his spirit and he’s trapped in his own mind. I tried to help but there’s nothing that I could do.” Wanda answered. “I’ll cover for him.” Clint clarified and left Nat’s side to go to where Strange was placed. “Okay, okay.. So Strange is out of the picture. Who thinks they could reach out to that witch?” Tony asked. “Wanda could do it, she’s the next person to Strange that could manipulate magic.” Thor said through the monitor. “Wanda, you think you can handle her?” Tony inquired once more. “Yeah, but I need you guys to cover me. There’s just too many of them.” She answered. “Alright, hey kid! I need to swing around and clear a path for Wanda.” The Iron Man ordered. “On it!” Young Peter’s voice was heard in their ears.
In no time, the Spiderman managed to create webs that formed fences out of his web fluid so Wanda could sprint and fly her way towards where the Enchantress’ platform was. Although everything seemed to go to plan, another portal opened right in the middle of the path and arrows came out, injuring Peter and the Scarlet Witch. “Mr Stark! We need help here! There’s a new portal opened.” The young man hastily called out to the team. “Shit.” Tony muttered and flew as fast as he could to extract two of the heroes out of the swarm of arrows.
Amidst the turmoil, Loki spoke up into the ear monitor, “You guys go ahead, I’ll take care of Amora. I’m already close.” He looked up at where the circular platform was above him. His fast and relentless energy aided him in going through the insane amount of enemies and he prayed to the Norns that he could actually teleport to where his ex lover is.
Tumblr media
At the same time, you were sitting in the Mirror Dimension, getting upset and feeling baffled over the fact that Loki and the others actually left you out of the battle. You felt betrayed but on the other hand you were still analyzing the situation in a logical way. It would be a lie to say that subconsciously you weren’t expecting your husband to keep you away from the inter-realm war but it was unfair for you. You were worried about what would happen to them since they were going against Amora who had mastered almost all the magic that every realm could offer.
Whilst you were deep in thought, you almost forgot that you were with a child, your motherly instincts started to kick in and a sense of panic overflooded you. You were afraid that there would be a possibility that the Enchantress could get to you and steal your child, or even worse, kill it. You took deep breaths and rubbed your belly. You began to sing Vargsången, a lullaby that Oralfian mothers sing to their children, the English meaning would be the Wolf Song. Its lyrics are a mother’s plea to the wolves to not take her child and her telling the child that they would be safe.
It calms you down bit by bit as you look around at the reflective walls of the Mirror Dimension, hoping that you and your child would be safe within the confines of the vicinity. “Don’t worry, my love.. Me and your father, along with our friends, shall keep you safe.” You assured the baby growing in your womb before you continued vocalizing the melody to the lullaby. The quietness of the dimension was peaceful, the atmosphere felt as if you were back in Asgard’s palace, reading a book in your own chambers.
The silence wasn’t for long though, because right after you finished the last note, your senses began picking up something that was off and you immediately stood up, you felt danger approaching but that can’t be. Even you can’t escape from the dimension despite using your impressive, ancient powers. Besides, Strange did explain that only way to access the way in and out of the dimension was through the sling rings. No way anyone could get to you right?
You were on high alert, the silence was becoming too eerie for your liking and your heart began thumping manically in your chest. Just then, an arm broke in the dimension, the shards breaking from the intrusion, your heart sunk from the jumpscare and when you thought it was over, several hands began entering the dimension until the mirror walls collapsed, you screamed in horror, the hands looked horrid, the fingers were black as if they were frostbitten. Some had sharp nails, resembling claws and before you knew it, you were already greeted by the very same mage that injured you a few weeks ago.
“Hello again, beautiful. The queen wishes for your presence.” He displayed a full smile, showing his rotting teeth to you. “Let me go!” You struggled to free yourself from their hold but you couldn’t do anything further since they had already teleported you from the destroyed dimension into what looked like a massive stage, right in front of Amora. “You…” You sneered upon realizing who the female was.
You charged towards her with your glowing hands, wanting to attack her more than ever though your advances were to no avail. “Nuh uh uh.. You know better than to attack me, pet.” The Enchantress used her powers to absorb your strength and energy and it made you freeze. “What.. Do you want from me? From us?” Gratefully, your lips could still move although it was difficult to do so. “Very straightforward.. I’m starting to like you even more..” You were starting to feel weak and drowsy as she absorbed all of your energy.
“That’s an easy question to answer… I want.. You. Your powers really..” Amora answered your inquiry before halting her magic, making you fall on your knees. “So are you going to enchant me or kill me?” Your breathing went erratic and the sorceress laughed. “Tsk tsk tsk.. Neither. I know it’s extremely complicated to enchant you.. And, you know I need you alive Aurelia..” She crouched down to look at you with a vicious smile. “What do you mean, you witch?” You returned her gaze, you absolutely don’t have any idea what she meant.
“You really do not know? Poor princess.. She doesn’t know what she is. Her parents lied to her-” You cut her off. “Don’t drag my parents into this you murderer. Let them rest in peace.” Your voice quivered. Again, Amora laughed at your words. “Oh dear.. She has no idea..” She stood back up and looked down on you. “Let’s bring in someone.. Familiar, to explain shall we?” With a snap of her fingers, her personal guards brought an elder man in, shoving him right next to you.
“Father?!” It was your beloved father, the King of Arolf, Lerros Vercolson. “Au..relia…” He defenselessly muttered. You inspected him, he looked frail and sickly. His face was covered in bruises and his body had lost a significant amount of weight. “What have they done to you?” Your breath hitched, your eyes were teary from the sight of your father. He looked far off from a king, he looked so… vulnerable. “Let him go..” You turned your head to look at Amora.
“That could be arranged.. Besides, I have no need for him anymore.. But, Lerros.. Tell her. What she truly is.. Who she is and where she’s from.. Go on..” The Enchantress folded her arms over her chest. “Aurelia… You are not… our child..” It confused you, have they beaten him up so badly that it had messed with his mind? “What do you mean I’m not your child?! How could you say that?!” His words saddened you, if you weren’t their child, then whose child are you? Are you even Arolfian royalty? You don’t even know who you are anymore. “You are.. The daughter of-”
“Amora!” Loki barged in and teleported from the platform. “Loki!” You shouted out. “Aurelia?” He froze when he saw that you were kneeling down in front of his ex. “Seize him!” The sorceress ordered her personal guards and Loki began fighting with them, Amora channeled her powers to her guards and it made them invincible, undefeatable and they succeeded in hurting Loki with their weapons; his screams of pain rang in your ears. “Stop it! Please, I’m begging you.. Don’t hurt him. Please, I’ll be yours.. Take whatever powers you want from me.” You weakly clasped your hands together while pleading for the woman’s mercy.
“Aurelia… No..” Your father spoke, almost whispering. “You’re certain?” Amora raised an eyebrow, it wasn’t that hard to convince you at all but she was still careful and alert just in case you had tricks up your sleeve. “Yes.” You nodded quickly. “Let’s have an agreement. Release my father and Loki, retract your army from Midgard and let my friends go. That’s all I ask of you.. Do all of this and I shall serve under your reign.” You bowed your head down.
“Very well..” Amora was satisfied, she looked at her guards and pulled them away from Loki using her telekinetic powers. “That’s enough. We have reached an agreement.” The woman explained. “One more thing..” You said and she turned to look at you again. “May I say my last words to him?” You requested to which the sorceress rolled her eyes. “Go ahead. But no tricks.” With her approval, you slowly stood up and walked towards Loki who was lying down on the platform. “What have you done Aurelia?” He looked at you with hooded eyes. “Let me help you..” You held his hand and assisted him in standing up.
“Don’t do this.. Don’t make the same mistakes as I did. You’re far more than this..” He whispered to you. “I know, I know.. But this is the only way.. Maybe this is how things are meant to be.. It’s inevitable.” A single tear fell on your cheek. “Please don’t cry…” His eyes softened at your fragile state. He stole a glance at the guards and the surroundings. “Listen.. I have a plan-” “No.” You interjected him. “My decision is final. We can’t keep running from this.. How many more lives do we have to lose for this to be over? Strange used to say, ‘In the great calculus of the universe, one sacrifice means infinitely more than a billion lives.’ My sacrifice.. Is for.. The greater good.”
“Darling, please.. I.. I need you.” Loki was on the verge of tears, who wouldn’t be? Especially when the only person who understands them, keeps up with their antics is leaving. Your presence in his life had impacted him so much that he couldn’t afford to go a day without you. “I’m sorry.. I promise that I shall take good care of myself and our child. Trust me, I’ll keep myself alive for you. Who knows, someday, we’ll be able to meet again.” You cried and he did too. This really was goodbye. You pulled him in for a kiss, a long and sweet one. A farewell kiss. When you two pulled away, you frowned and muttered, “I’m sorry.”
You pushed him off the platform and it caught him off guard but you were certain that he was safe because you had stolen a look at the view under the circle and Vision and Sam were close by. You turned around and saw a taken aback Amora. “My my.. You learn fast..” The sorceress chuckled. “Let my father go too.. And retreat from Midgard.” You wiped your tears away. “Okay.” The Enchantress shrugged and opened a portal in the middle of the battlefield before her guards pushed your father out of it forcefully. Now, with no Loki nor parents, you were alone. Truly alone and confused as to who you really are. You spoke in a soft voice, “Who am I?”

I just wanted to quickly give y’all some insight on how Jasmine came to be as a character and how her fighting style is structured.
Spoiler warnings for these movies/games
Logan from Marvel
Black Widow from Marvel
The Last Of Us Part One
Metal Gear Solid: Phantom Pain
Trigger Warnings: Cutting, violence, child soldiers, and attempted rape.
Laura/X-23 from the movie Logan and Marvel comics:
I’ll start with the movie Logan first. (God I love this movie)
Jas almost fights almost exactly like Laura in her movie introduction scene, just a little less skilled and precise due to protesting her own training. Instead of claws, Jazzy uses her never ending abundant of knives in the same manner but also incorporates gun use. She has the same amount of fiery fury Laura expresses down to the raging snarling and grunts.
Here’s a link to the scene in the movie. (Warning, it’s very graphic) Yes, Jas is terrifying to fight when she is at her peak, maybe more when she is running at you bloodied.
Logan/Nick kinda have to teach these girl how to human, with Laura not knowing how and Jasmine forgetting from brainwashing. (Although it’s worth pointing out that Logan and Nick have a little more different moral values and standpoints)
The gas station scene in the movie did the best of drawing parallels. Laura/Jas gets touched by someone and they resort to beating the crap out of the person only to be told, “Not okay!” by Logan/Nick.
The childlikeness shines through both of the girls despite the torture they endured. Laura/Jas like kiddish and girly things, with Laura liking the rideable toy horse and pink sunglasses while Jazzy still likes playing with toys and wearing dresses. (Don’t judge her, she’s been though hell)
And now we go a little more into Laura’s comic counterpart which I think is the most like Jas. You can do some reading on her, and you’ll see it.
Pure torture is best to describe their time in training. While X-23 had people like her Mom or Sensei to give her some sort of comfort, Jas only had her memories to keep her warm and grasp sanity.
Both teen girls have an activation mode were they see red and go into a, “kill everything mode.” Difference is that Jas has more of a controlled state of mind and can mostly distinguish from friends and enemies while X-23 goes straight into killing everyone no matter what.
X-23/Jas express to their father figures that when they had killed people in the past, they had been emotionless to doing so and it haunts them. X-23 even cuts herself with her claws, and much like Jazzy, she heals completely from it.
I could draw more example's, but we’d be here all day.
Black Widow from Marvel:
The Red Room program inspired a bit on what Jas had to go through. It had a similar goal of training, master assassin weapon who can blend in virtually anywhere.
Jazzy fights like a Black Widow when doing a more stealthy or non-lethal approach. So a lot of jumping on people and using the momentum to take them down. Again, she is not as trained and tactical as one would be.
Natasha can be seen using objects as improv weapons/distractions in her fighting. Whether it’s a chain, table, curtain, basket, or chair Nat can use it to her advantage. Same thing with Jas, she’s almost a master of making a weapon out of anything on a whim, especially more knives.
Like Jasmine and Laura, Nat is bothered and tortured by her past even though it’s not entirely her fault, she was groomed and brainwashed from the start of her life. Jasmine was able to resist it more than Nat because she was raised by a family and didn’t get induced until she was nine, but that only added more guilt.
Ellie from The Last of Us: (God I love this game and it’s DLC Left Behind, not a fan of part 2 though)
The dynamic between Joel and Ellie is absolutely amazing and was a big inspiration. You’d have to have played the game to know what I’m talking about, I can’t put it into words.
Jasmine is a bit more like Joel on the relationship part, more unwilling to bond with the other due to past events and loses but they eventually melt and give in.
Nick doesn’t really have to play protecter as much as Joel does, but there are circumstances where he will and it’s terrifying because much like Joel, it’s a parent protecting their kid.
Ellie has the childlike wonder about the old world and eventually Jasmine gains that same wonder about the new world she was dropped kicked into.
The time after the Winter deer scene expresses Jasmine and Nick the most. Joel/Nick being talkative while Ellie/Jas is more absent and quiet with the trauma they just endured. But one little event can start making Ellie/Jas bloom again, although Jazzy is more prone to reverting back to being absent and cold calculating.
Ellie and Jas are actually the same height, which is 5’3. And oh Lord does Jas swear just as much as Ellie does throughout the game, maybe more.
Quiet from Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain:
This one is purely off Quiet’s fighting style and not really anything else. Quiet is an enhanced human who has extreme super strength, but is still light and easy to carry like everyone else on this list. She is seen pushing back a man then holding up two men by the neck with only her hands, but later is easily knocked down or picked up. Jazzy is the same, stronger than an average man but still as light as someone of her size. Here is the link to the scene. (Quick insight, Quiet breathes through her skin so that’s why she is barely clothed)
Other than fighting and skill levels such as perception, I don’t think there is any more similarities. They dress literally polar opposite and Jazzy actually talks or at least tries to communicate in some form to the people she likes.
There is a certain scene in the game that I have to specifically point out. You’ll have to look it up on your own but in summary, Quiet is captured, suffocated, and almost gets r*ped by a gang of men. She escapes like a badass and goes BRUTAL on them, again you’ll have to see for yourself. It’s exactly what Jas would do to her former captors if she ever met them again, minus the superpower abilities.
So… yup, all these cobbled together helped shape Jas as a character. Everything else I patched together with ideas I came up with from either my own experiences, or similar to someone else’s.

continued from [x] @destroyerof
natasha had lived plenty of lives. the latest, however? she would have preferred it to have never existed. she always knew shield did anything and everything to get what they wanted. she just had never quite imagined that the day that was supposed to be the happiest of her life turned into the day that would prove to haunt every thought and every action for years to come. she could remember the day so vividly. the way she felt the bullet hit her chest, the way the darkness took over all of her senses. the taste of blood in her mouth while everything had went dark as she stared up at daisy. she'd woken up on a ship, not even sure how many days later, an iv in her arm and people running around around her. everything had been ruined, and nothing had been the same ever since.
she'd lost trust in the people she was meant to sacrifice everything for. she hadn't cooperated for weeks as she'd healed. but eventually, she had to say something. natasha had no problem not cooperating for the rest of her life -- if they wanted to keep her locked away, then they could. but she found herself hoping that if she found a way out, she could get back to daisy.
it hadn't happened.
she knew they were tracking her even before she'd strayed away from the mission and had someone intercepting her just a few hours later. natasha knew how this worked. she'd been a pawn for years, doing the bidding of people that owned her. and so she did what she knew best -- she threw herself into the mission. deep undercover. it wasn't just a simple mission that would be over in a few weeks. this was months, years, of pretending she was someone else. bringing down an organization from the inside out. that was something she knew how to do. she knew how to get close to important people, to make them trust her. she'd done it her entire life. hell, she'd even done it her first few years in shield out of instinct.
marina orlova. another alias to add to the list.
she'd tried to not let the emotion show on her face when the person from shield had shown her the file about her new alias. marina. a friend, a best friend, that had turned into nothing more than an assignment. she'd taken the name as her alias without a complaint. she'd use that name like a weapon. a silent promise that she'd help take down everyone and everything in her way to avenge her old friend.
natasha had pulled the trigger, yes. but the red room had killed her.
completing her mission was easy. it had taken years. years that she would never get back or replace. she did what shield wanted her to do. she'd brought ruin to organizations, just as she had in her past. she'd taken out powerful men that no doubt would cause uproars. what was another few enemies to add to the list of people that wanted her dead?
after it was over, she'd been given a new assignment: find this mysterious person that was wreaking havoc. creating disasters. take them out.
an easy target, supposedly. except when every single piece of intel led her back to daisy johnson, she'd wanted to back out. but she couldn't. she'd find her. but she wouldn't kill her. couldn't.
she wasn't sure how she'd ever be able to, even if shield tried to force her hand.
truthfully, natasha wasn't sure what would happen. she'd expected hostility. she never expected daisy to be happy she was standing in front of her. her intel had told her that there was multiple people with her -- a team. natasha prepared herself for that. she'd gotten herself out of situations with more people than this fighting against her, she could handle this. or at least that was what she told herself.
as a man spoke harshly towards her, natasha didn't even bother raising a weapon. it wasn't worth it. not yet, anyway. she could ensure that half the people in this room were wounded or dead before someone could even blink, if she wanted to.
" you want me to explain everything in ten seconds? " a part of her wanted to laugh. looking at daisy, at the expression on her face, it was like she was looking at someone completely different. in some ways, she recognized the woman in front of her. but that softness in her gaze was gone. any love that daisy once had was gone. natasha knew that she shouldn't look for any of that in her expression before she'd walked in on everyone, and yet, she still had.
" if you think i planned any of this, then you're blinded by whatever lies are in your head. " natasha didn't know enough about what happened after that day she'd 'died'. any time she'd asked about daisy to whoever had organized her mission, people avoided her questions. they'd said they helped with things after her death, and that was all the information she'd been given. natasha had a feeling that was a lie. " if i told you what happened, would you even really believe me? would you call me a liar? " natasha wouldn't blame her -- she didn't trust anyone these days, either. she'd given up on trusting anyone after she'd found out that the same organization that saved her was trapping her into a mission she couldn't get out of.
natasha shook her head. maybe she'd just walked in here to greet death as an old friend. maybe she was destined to have everyone she'd once loved and trusted turn on her.
" if you're so angry, have your guard dog do the dirty work. " natasha motioned her head towards the man that had held a blade towards her. " kill me. " she walked closer towards the man, her hands still not reaching towards any weapons on her body. " do it, " she challenged, louder, eyes focused on the man. she wasn't threatening her life for no reason -- it was partially a way to really see the hierarchy here. to see exactly who listened to who. to see how far she could push someone before daisy couldn't stop them or just wouldn't want to. " or do you want the honors yourself? " natasha turned her gaze back towards daisy. it was clear daisy was agitated already -- she could feel the effects of that.
explaining all of this would be worthless. natasha knew that. what worth was there in explaining how all of this hadn't been her idea? sure, she could have figured out a way to get to daisy almost immediately. but she hadn't. it was something she questioned herself about as she stayed undercover. but she had to finish the mission. and she had. it just so happened that her next one brought her back to daisy, anyway. and to get anywhere, to find anything, she had to get through to daisy somehow. but as natasha stalled with her words, her piercing gaze, she still was coming up empty. this wasn't the daisy she knew. it was the furthest thing from that.
" look me in the eyes and tell me honestly that you think i made the choice to drop off the face of the earth. that you think i would have ever made the choice to do this. "

Let's Talk About Sorcerer Nat
I didn't mean for Sorcerer Nat to become a thing. I really didn't. My original plan for the Greyhoundverse was a fairly straightforward (if very long), Lokicentric series about how the MCU would change if post-Loki Loki were there. But then, for Harbors of My Own (which is referred to almost exclusively in my notes by its acronym, HOMO), I needed to figure out how to make Natasha Romanoff truly crack, emotionally speaking. And after a lot of dead ends and struggle, I settled on that way being placing her in a different universe where I could make as much go catastrophically wrong as I needed to get the desired reaction without compromising my plot. A happy ending for all.
But then I had to go and get the sorcerers involved.
My reasons for deciding to make Nat a budding sorcerer--and in fact to add a whole additional fic to my plan to accommodate the new storyline--are multifaceted and involve resolving a miniscule plot hole in THE LAST FIC OF THE SERIES but I only want to talk about one specifically here: I thought she would make an interesting parallel to Dr. Strange.
The whole first Dr. Strange movie is about the eponymous doctor learning how to fit new and absurd principles into his rigid worldview; how he struggles with it, and ultimately uses it to save the world. Dr. Strange learned magic like the element earth. He is stubborn and insistent that he is right no matter the circumstances. He refuses to budge on his perceived inability to do something until literally deposited on top of Mount Everest and told to figure it out. So once he becomes a master, a lot of his defining moments in the MCU still revolve around that: he lets himself get killed by Dormammu over and over again until he out-wills the godlike being; he resists Ebony Maw's torture until he can be rescued, even though he doesn't know at the time that there will be any; he channels all that willpower and stubbornness into holding back millions of tons of water as a battle rages around him. Stephen Strange is at his core unmoveable.
Natasha, on the other hand, proves time and again in canon that she would learn magic like the element water. Almost her entire time in canon is just the story of Dr. Strange repeated over and over. Natasha, an unenhanced human woman, is continuously confronted with situations and enemies that challenge her entire perceived reality: aliens, her own organization but the secret evil version, people from her past she thought long dead, more aliens, space travel, time travel--do you see the pattern? Some of her teammates are used to things like that (Thor). Others can cope using their impressive intellect to rationalize the situation (Tony, Bruce). Some can pack enough of a punch that they don't necessarily need to adapt as much to each new problem (Steve, although his dogged sticking to his own brand and some plot armor also play in). Natasha has none of that. And she reacts to each situation very differently. In Avengers, she uses Chitauri weapons and the Scepter. In CA: TWS, she uses a lot of her spy skills instead of provoking straight-up fights. She switches sides in Civil War and makes jokes about travelling through time. Whereas Strange succeeds by brute forcing a single path, Nat shifts and adapts to what she sees as the best way to win. She's amazingly versatile and fluid and will try another angle if the first one doesn't work. She's following the path of least resistance. And in my fic all about Nat becoming a sorcerer (coming ???) I really want to study that, and later down the line, I want to juxtapose her with Strange more clearly so the differences can be seen.

¿What if Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man was in the MCU?
To: Andrew Garfield, Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios
                                                       Intro
¿What if events went differently in the MCU? ¿What if Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man was in the MCU? In today’s fan fiction we’re going to be exploring what would have happened if Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man had a major role in the MCU? ¿How can this affect the multiverse going forward? This is my own take of events taking inspiration from the Ultimates comics with elements from Ultimate Spider-Man for part 1, the 2013 Age of Ultron for part 2, the 2006-07 Civil War story arc for part 3 and the 1991 Infinity Gauntlet comic with elements from the 2013 Infinity comic for the last 2 parts while following the mythology of Spider-Man and the timeline of the Webbverse and MCU respectively. Without wasting anymore time sit back and relax and enjoy this 1st ever combined 5 part amazing fan fiction.
                                                Prologue
Now that we have seen Peter-Two assist the Avengers in 1 universe now it’s time to see another universe where Peter-Three assisted the Avengers. I am the Watcher. I am ur guide to these vast new realities. Follow me and pounder the question. What If…
                Part 1 (Formation of the Avengers and the Battle of New York)
After the events with the Lizard’s defeat and the death of Captain Stacy Peter-Three was still jugging with his role as Spider-Man. He still had some adventures battling small-time crooks and gangs. 2 months have passed since the incidents in the Amazing Spider-Man and Peter continued being with Gwen Stacy even though Captain Stacy requested him to avoid her in order for her to stay safe. Peter believes that he can protect her from any danger and he was still a little conflicted from what happened to her dad although Peter promises that the same fate would not befall Gwen. The beginning of Avengers would play out the same as in our universe with the formation of the Avengers after Loki’s attack on the Shield base and our story begins when Nick saw in his records that a new hero known as Spider-Man who fought the same threats of a super villain known as the Lizard. However, Nick believes that Spider-Man was still an amateur and decided not to recruit him into the Avengers initiative. He decided to rely on his big guns and instructed Natasha to head to recruit Bruce Banner. Fury himself approached Steve Rogers to retrieve the tesseract while agent Phil Coulson visited Tony Stark to have him check on Erik Selvig’s research. Meanwhile, Peter-Three was still adjusting his secondary life with Gwen Stacy and his high school career. Peter was no longer bullied by Flash Thompson as Flash knew that Peter could fight him back. Peter was resting at his home and tuned into the news. When he saw Loki’s arrival Loki was demanding the citizens to kneel before him and acknowledged him as their new ruler. Peter thought that this was a cosplay or hoax. However, he was surprised when he saw Steve Rogers with Stark and Romanoff confronting and fighting with him. Loki then surrendered and was taken into captivity by the Avengers. Peter saw the Avengers battling Loki and figured that he was not the only one with super powers. Peter wondered what it would be like to be a famous superhero across the world. He then remembered Uncle Ben’s famous words “With great power comes great responsibility”. He figured that the heroes would be able to make a quick work of Loki and Peter continued going back to school and stopped his duties as Spider-Man temporarily. He decided to spend more time with Gwen and Aunt May. Aboard the Helicarrier the Avengers became divided over how to approach Loki. Steve found out that Nick Fury and Shield wanted to harness the tesseract to use it as a powerful weapon against hostile enemies. Loki then possessed agents and then attacked the Helicarrier and the stress caused Bruce Banner to turn into the Incredible Hulk. Hulk went on a rampage and was stopped by Thor while Stark and Rogers defeated the possessed agents and worked to reset the damaged engine. Loki escaped amidst the commotion after killing Phil Coulson. Loki used the tesseract to create a wormhole bringing 4th the Chituari fleet onto New York. Peter was on a date with Gwen Stacy in New York. As they were walking Peter noticed something emerging from the sky. He also heard people screaming frantically and running. His spider-sense went off with Peter and Gwen seeing many police vehicles entering the city. Peter felt that something was amiss and told Gwen to get to safety. Gwen refused and said that she wants to know what was going on in the city. They managed to talk to a police officer who happened to be Captain Stacy’s partner when he was still alive. He said that they have received reports of an alien invasion happening in New York. They were told to be stationed in the city with the National Guard to combat against the aliens. Just then 1 of the Chituari soldiers fired a shot in their direction causing 1 of the police cars to explode. The police car overturned and was heading into the direction of Peter, Gwen and the police officers. Peter knew that if he started using his webs and saved them everyone else in that area would know the true identity of Spider-Man. Iron Man came in time to rescue them by shielding them from a car crash. Iron Man then told them to get to safety as things were about to get messy. Peter then told Gwen that he needed to help the other heroes. Gwen disagreed as she said that that this isn’t like his past enemies. These were aliens and might be even stronger than him. Peter said that he will rely on his instincts and agility to survive in the fight against the aliens. He said that the heroes will be overwhelmed by a large swarm of the invasion. They both kissed and Peter changed into his Spider-Man suit. Peter headed into the middle of the battle and helped to evacuate the civilians who were caught in the crossfire. There was a captive situation where some of the civilians were held as hostage by the Chituari. Steve was about to handle the situation when he saw some of the Chituari guards were being webbed into the ceiling. He saw someone in a tight spandex suit swinging from 1 place to another while taking out the Chituari guards. After the hostages were released Captain America thanked Spider-Man for his help. He said that he has never seen him before and Spider-Man merely replied that he was a hero that belonged to the lower leagues. Cap disagrees and said that he believes that Peter can be a major asset for the team. He told Spider-Man to follow him to defeat more of the Chituari army. Spider-Man arrived with Captain America and rallied with the other Avengers. Stark, Romanoff, Barton, Thor, Hulk and the others were surprised to see a masked hero with them. Romanoff said that she recognized him from Fury’s files. She said that Fury wanted to originally recruit him into the team but felt that he was still amateurish. Captain America disagreed and explained how Spider-Man managed to defeat an entire unit of Chituari by himself. The Avengers and Spider-Man then teamed up to fight against the Chituari and Tony said that he will head to Stark Tower where the generator launching the wormhole was located. Spider-Man said that he will join Tony too as he believes that he can retrieve Loki’s scepter from him with ease. Tony at first refused to allow him to be with him as he still doesn’t know Spider-Man’s capabilities but Steve Rogers reassured him with Tony and Peter heading to Stark Tower. In our universe Tony saw Loki with the scepter at Stark Tower with the Hulk bearing him into submission defeating him. But in this universe the Hulk was not present at Stark Tower as he was fighting with other forces of the Chituari fleet. Tony tried to buy time by talking with Loki. Loki them placed the scepter onto Stark’s heart to control him but there was no effects. Loki was surprised as he believed that every mortal with a heart will be controlled by the scepter. Tony screamed now and Spider-Man came crashing into the building. He webbed Loki’s scepter from him and shot webs incapacitating Loki. With his hands and mouth glued with the webs Loki fell to the ground and was defeating. Romanoff then contacted the others and told him that Loki’s scepter can be shut down with the generator. At the same time Peter received a call with his mobile phone. It was Aunt May. He was hesitant to pick it up as he was still on active duties as Spider-Man. Tony then gave him some private space to answer the call and as Peter answered the call he heard Aunt May screaming for help to save her. She said that she was out shopping for groceries when 1 of the Chituari soldiers crashed into the shop where she was. The Chituari fleet soldiers had his vehicle with him. It was abducted and Aunt May was someone she needed to help now. Peter told her to calm down and asked for her location. She wasn’t sure where she was as she was in an area aboard the Chituari soldier’s fleet but she said that she can see Stark Tower from a distance. Peter then told her that he will come rescue her and Peter who was still holding the scepter wasn’t sure what he should do. The Avengers still needed help to defeat the invasion of the Chituari fleet but Aunt May needed help. He doesn’t want the same episode of Uncle Ben being killed because of in-responsibilities to happen to Aunt May too. Tony who overheard the conversation told him to go rescue May. He asked Spider-Man to hand over Loki’s scepter. Tony thanked Peter for his help and Peter webbed away from Stark Tower. As he was searching for Aunt May in the city he saw Clint who was shooting at the aerial Chituari soldiers. Spider-Man swinged over to Clint and asked him if he noticed any civilians being held hostage by any soldiers. Clint said that he saw one of the troops fled with an elderly woman but he couldn’t shoot it as the woman was still alive. Peter thanked Clint and quickly headed towards the direction of Aunt May. He eventually caught up with Aunt May and easily webbed the other soldiers. After defeating the soldiers Peter brought Aunt May to safety. Aunt May then thanked Spider-Man and told him to be careful. She hugged him before he left and Peter felt as though Aunt May was aware of his true identity as Spider-Man. Nick Fury’s superiors at the WSC then contacted him and told him that a nuclear missile will be dropped at midtown Manhattan to stop the assault once and for all. Nick Fury disagreed as there were still many civilians alive who were trapped within the city. Fury informed the Avengers of the inminent nuclear missile that was heading towards Stark Tower. Iron Man was the only option to stop the missile. Stark managed to intercept the missile and took it through the wormhole towards the Chituari fleet. The missile detonated destroying the Chituari mothership and its fleet. As Stark’s suit was unable to sustain its power he lost unconscious and started swirling to the ground. Instead of the Hulk saving him like in our universe Peter created a web parachute and brought Tony to safety. Tony awoken and the other Avengers informed them that Spider-Man saved him as he was free falling from the sky. Tony asked where Spider-Man was and Natasha said that he left immediately after saving him. Peter reunited with Gwen who was safe amidst the invasion. Gwen asked him if he was alright to which he replied that he saved Aunt May who was abducted during the attack. They both embraced and Gwen told Peter that he should think about continuing his duties as Spider-Man. While small time crooks and petty criminals were fine Gwen was worried that an extreme battle would result in his death 1 day. Thor returned with Loki and the tesseract to Asgard where Loki was imprisoned. Meanwhile, Peter decided to stop being Spider-Man temporarily as he felt that spending time with his loved ones was more worth it for now. While he returns home he saw an invitation letter on the table. Aunt May said that it was from Tony Stark. He opened the letter and it was an invitation to join the Avengers. Tony thanked Peter for saving him and for his help during the New York invasion. There is a spot reserved for him with the Avengers and Tony said that he will keep his identity a secret. He knew that Peter-Three was indeed Spider-Man because he overheard Peter’s conversation with Aunt May when he was at Stark Tower. Tony then cross-referenced with Nick Fury’s records of Spider-Man and managed to track down as Peter-Three being Spider-Man. Peter merely smiled and hugged Aunt May. The events of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 would happen in this universe with Gwen and Peter breaking up and the defeat of Electro and the Green Goblin at the cost of Gwen Stacy herself. After that Peter became depressed and started to quit his duties as the Amazing Spider-Man for good. After a year of negligence with his duties as Spider-Man and he stopped working at the Bugle he was rotting away at his house that even Aunt May was worried about him. Peter was throwing away his trash when he remembered the letter from Tony Stark given to him 3 years prior. Peter then contacted Tony if the spot on the Avengers was still open. Tony replied that they are on route to take down several Hydra bases if he was up for it and then Peter could drop by Stark Tower later then evening. A few days later, Harry was still coping with the aftermath after the transformation into the Green Goblin while being at Ravencroft. He was visited by the gentleman and the gentleman said that he head received intel that there was an android created by the Avengers that went rogue in Sokovia. The android was very powerful and possessed its own intelligence. The gentleman said that he has assembled a team with Rhino and Harry himself. He plans to recruit the Lizard on board their team too. Harry said that since he now knows the true identity of Spider-Man hunting him down would be easier more than ever.
                              Part 2 (Age of Ultron and the Battle of Sokovia)
It’s been 3 years since the Battle of New York with Loki and his army and it’s now 2015. Peter was still recovering from the death of Gwen Stacy the year prior and decided to follow Uncle Ben’s words of “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility”. Peter decided to join the Avengers in taking on the remaining Hydra forts around the world. After the events of the Winter Soldier the Avengers discovered that Hydra was very much alive and spreading their influence across the world. Captain America decided to lead the charge to destroy and capture all of the remaining Hydra agents worldwide. Peter has joined the Avengers on several of their raids on the Hydra facilities and the Avengers then decided to raid a Hydra facility commanded by Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker in Sokovia. Strucker has experimented with humans using Loki’s scepter. Peter-Three felt that he will be a much better hero if he were to join on these missions with the Avengers. On the other hand Peter has yet to neglect his duties as a photographer for the Daily Bugle and his college life. It was the summer holidays and Peter felt that this was a great opportunity to help the Avengers. He told his editor at the Daily Bugle J. Jonah Jameson that he will be able to get some interesting scoops on Spider-Man in Sokovia. J. Jonah Jameson agreed to the idea and gave Peter a plane ticket to Sokovia. Spider-Man has already become a popular name across New York with some believing him to be a hero of Justice but the law enforcement and J. Jonah Jameson deemed him as a menace to the society because he was a masked vigilante. Meanwhile, in Sokovia the Avengers were battling and raiding the Hydra hideouts when they encountered the twins named Pietro and Wanda. The Avengers faced them briefly but were no match for their capabilities. Peter tried to web Pietro but he was too quick. The twins escaped while Strucker was apprehended by the Avengers. Tony Stark then retrieved Loki’s scepter and the Avengers returned to the base while Peter gave new shots of Spider-Man in action at Sokovia to J. Jonah Jameson. Jonah was pleased with it and told him to get some more scoops at the Avengers party. Jonah said that Tony wanted a photographer to take some pictures of the party for their success at eliminating Hydra for good. Stark and Banner discovered an artificial intelligence within the scepter’s gem. Stark felt that the gem can be used to complete his Ultron global defense program. With a suit of armor around the world they are more than capable to defend against any incoming threat. Banner at first was hesitant but decided to help Tony with the program. When the project seemed to have failed Tony and Banner joined the others for the party. Peter-Three was also present taking pictures of the Avengers while his co-workers interviewed them for their success in defeating Hydra. Just then the Ultron program activated on its own and became a sentient being. Ultron decided that he needed to eradicate humanity as salvation for mankind. He eliminated Stark’s AI JARVIS and attacked the other Avengers at the headquarters. Peter brought a Spider-Man suit but he knew that he cannot change into his Spider-Man costume as it would be very suspicious. Only Tony knew of his identity as Spider-Man so far. The Avengers fought briefly against Ultron but Ultron managed to escape arriving in Sokovia. Ultron started upgrading his body and created an army of robot drones. The Avengers started tracking down Ultron. Tony told Peter not to reveal to the Daily Bugle about Ultron’s incident. Peter agreed and changed into his Spider-Man costume. The Avengers found Ultron’s location in Johannesburg. Ultron has already killed Strucker and recruited the Maximoff twins to his team. The Maximoffs hold a grudge against Tony who was responsible for the deaths of their parents by his company’s weapons. Ultron met with Klaw in Johannesburg to obtain vibranium. With vibranium he will be much stronger. The Avengers rallied and attacked Ultron. Wanda started to subdue them with haunting visions. Peter himself was fighting Pietro Maximoff. Pietro was too quick for him and Pietro had learnt from his previous encounter with him. This time around Spider-Man has equipped it as web shooters with tasers. Pietro was running but was caught in one of the web’s tasers and he was trapped. He was incapacitated and he fell to the ground. Peter was glad that his web shooters were effective. His spider-sense started tingling and he turned around. Wanda was behind him and started placing hallucinations in his mind. Peter relieved memories of the Stacys dying in his arms. Even he started reliving Uncle Ben’s death. Peter was ridden with guilt and Wanda was about to do the same with Clint but Clint had an arrow armed with electricity charged and he placed it on her forehead and Wanda collapsed to the ground. Everyone under the hallucinations started recovering from it including Peter Parker. Peter felt that it was too much and he felt depressed again. Before leaving Wanda managed to plant a hallucination in Bruce Banner causing him to transform into the incredible Hulk and going on a rampage in town. Stark called 4th his Hulkbuster armor and managed to bring the situation under control. However, the damage was already done and the people of Johannesburg were terrorized. There was a worldwide backlash over the destruction that happened due to the Hulk. They decided to take cover at Barton’s farmhouse. Peter also joined them as he was still reeling from the damage sustained from Wanda’s hallucinations. Steve Rogers decided to talk to Peter while they were resting. Peter was still with his mask on as he didn’t want anyone to know about his true identity. Captain America said that ever since Peter helped them during the invasion of New York City he has taken an interest toward Peter. His skills, fighting abilities and how he is always ready to put his body on the line. Peter talked with Captain America and realized how they both have similarities. Peter was wondering whether he should reveal his identity to Captain America and was about to take his mask off. Cap assured Peter that he can keep his mask on as it’s a part of him. Steve Rogers said that he trusts that Peter has his own reasons to fight behind a mask and Thor departed to consult Erik Selvig on what’s to come in the future. He saw the hallucinations and he knew that something was up. Nick Fury also arrived and encouraged the team to stop Ultron. The team started to put their brains together to work to stop Ultron. Peter also joined the fray and gave some ideas to stop him. Meanwhile, Ultron arrived in Seoul where he used Loki’s scepter to enslave the Avenger’s friend Helen Cho. As he was about to upload himself into a synthetic tissue technology body Ultron realized that there was someone else at the door. Ultron told Wanda and Pietro to check it out. They heard a voice saying that they are here to help Ultron. Out of the shadows emerged the gentleman, Rhino and Harry Osborn. Ultron was surprised as they were able to track his location. The gentleman said that he knows about virtually everything that is happening in the world. He said that Rhino and Harry had grudges against one of the members of the Avengers. Ultron said that they can be a great asset to Ultron’s side. Ultron figured that nothing harmful can come out of getting an extra firepower. Wanda then read Ultron’s mind and said that he was about to upload his mind into the body. She was horrified to see the destruction of the world at Ultron’s hands. Wanda fell back and said that she and Pietro wanted to just inflict a little revenge against Tony Stark but not the destruction of the entire humanity. Pietro and Wanda fled away from Ultron and Ultron then said to his new alleys to hold any other threats who can attack him while he’s uploading his mind into his new body. The Avengers eventually tracked Ultron to Seoul and Rogers, Romanoff, Barton and Spider-Man fought against Ultron. Amidst the battle Spider-Man heard someone laughing in an evil tone. Several gas bombs were thrown at him. Spider-Man managed to dodged them in time. He looked up and saw that it was Harry Osborn alias the Green Goblin on his glider. Peter was shocked as he thought that Harry was still undergoing treatment at Ravencroft Institution. Harry said that he’s currently working with the gentleman and Rhino. He said that he will exact revenge on Spider-Man for what he has done. Harry said that seeing  Gwen die was the best feeling that he could ever see out of Peter’s face. Peter feeling extremely furious launched towards Harry despite Natasha telling him not to. The Green Goblin and Spider-Man fought across the highway and Spider-Man then saw someone charging fast towards him. His spider-sense dodged the attack on time as he saw Rhino ripping apart cars with ease. Rhino has his armored suit with vibranium making him stronger than ever. The Rhino and Green Goblin tag-teamed against Spider-Man. Spider-Man was trying his best to fend off his attacks but the concussion he suffered from the earlier attack by Rhino was hurting him a little bit. Harry’s glider sliced into Spider-Man’s ankle causing him to fall to the ground. Harry and Rhino mocked him as he wasn’t suited to be a hero or an Avenger after all. They then heard a voice saying that they are mistaken and that Spider-Man is a hero much bigger than the both of them combined. A shield flow towards Harry knocking him out from his glider. His shield came back to Captain America and smashed him onto the Rhino knocking him backwards. Spider-Man recovered and continued the hunt for Ultron. They eventually managed to retrieve the synthetic body and brought it back to the base. Ultron then contacted Rhino and Harry Osborn and he said that they will head to Sokovia where his grand plan will be executed. Spider-Man who was still injured apologized to Captain America and the others. Cap asked if Rhino and Harry were his past enemies before. He said yes and he said that his past girlfriend died in Harry’s hands while Rhino was a crook he defeated last year and they both had grown much stronger since. As the synthetic body of Ultron was brought back Bruce and Stark wanted to upload JARVIS into his own body. The others disagreed as they might be creating another monster like Ultron. Thor came in time and activated the body with his hammer. Vision would come to life and would earn the Avenger’s trust as he lifted the hammer with ease. As the Maximoff twins joined forces with Avengers they went back to Sokovia. They discovered that Ultron was planning to use the remaining vibranium to build a machine that can left a large part of the capital city skyward. Once it plunges down to Earth the entire planet will face global extinction. The Avengers would begin to evacuate the civilians to safety. As the civilians were being rescued Ultron brought 4th his armies of drones to attack them. Spider-Man knew that Rhino and Green Goblin were somewhere in Sokovia and Peter then helped defend off the drones that were attacking the civilians. He saw Barton was rescuing a kid who was being pinned amidst the gunfire. Peter then shouted to Clint to dock while he shot webs disabling the gunfire. This enabled Pietro to rescue the both of them with his super speed but he would still die like in our universe. Eventually Rhino and Harry Osborn arrived with Ultron. Peter told the other Avengers that he will deal with his own nemesis. Captain America and the others rallied the defenses to fight against the Ultron drones while Peter faced off with the Green Goblin and Rhino. Peter’s injuries at his ankle were preventing him from fighting in his peak form and as a result the Green Goblin and Rhino were winning in the battle against Spider-Man. Rhino was about to charge toward Spider-Man before he heard something big and strong rampaging through his way. It was none other than the Incredible Hulk. Hulk charged 4th and smashed Rhino to the ground continuously. Even with the vibranium armor Rhino’s armor was completely ripped off. Without his weaponized suit Rhino was just a mere human without powers. Spider-Man used the distractor to web Harry’s glider and throw him against the wall. Harry’s glider came off and Peter then told Harry that this is enough and that siding with Ultron will not have any benefits for him. As Ultron was merely seeking a distraction for all of humanity Rhino and Green Goblin will also be killed in the process. Harry started blaming Peter for everything that has happened to him and Harry’s glider started moving automatically and was aimed at Peter’s direction. Peter’s spider-sense kicked in and he managed to dodge the glider. The glider pierced Harry killing him for good in the same manner as how Norman Osborn was killed in the Raimi movie. Peter cried and knew that there was more important issues out there. He rejoined the other Avengers in their fight against Ultron and his drones. Eventually Wanda and Vision joined forces as they ripped through Ultron’s body and every single last 1 of his drones. Sokovia was brought down and the heroes including Rhino survived the fall. Hulk then willingly flew away in a quinjet leaving Natasha and the other Avengers. The Avengers started running their operations in a new base and Rhino himself was put back at Ravencroft Institution with Peter starting to recuperate from his injuries with Helen Cho attending him. Peter also gave several shots to the Bugle as Spider-Man in action at Sokovia against Ultron. Rhino and Green Goblin were arrested and Spider-Man started to train with the other Avengers which were Rhodes, Vision, Falcon and Wanda. Meanwhile, the gentleman was disappointed that Harry and Rhino have failed in their attempts at world domination. He figured that a greater power would soon come into play. Meanwhile, Peter started wondering wether it was time to lose the mask as a sign of trust for his teammates especially with Steve Rogers.
                                                        Part 3 (Civil War)
A year has passed since the events of Age of Ultron and it’s now 2016. Peter-Three was adjusting with his new life training with the other Avengers. He was also recovering mentally from the death of his friend Harry Osborn who was his childhood friend and turned into the Green Goblin in the Amazing Spider-Man 2. Harry finally died after being killed by his own glider when he faced off in Sokovia. Rhino was back in Ravencroft Institution and Peter is still a photographer at the Daily Bugle. With his impressive shots taken in Sokovia Jonah was impressed with Peter’s skills. In the present day Peter, Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, Sam Wilson, and Wanda were in Lagos, Nigeria. They were trying to stop Brock Rumlow alias Crossbones from stealing a biological weapon from a lab. As the Avengers were chasing after Rumlow and his men Rumlow gained the upper hand against Captain America. While Steve Rogers was still busy with Brock the other Avengers were trying to take down his men. Cap fought back and eventually cornered Brock. He then detonated a bomb in an attempt to kill Captain America together with him. Peter’s spider-sense tingled as he saw Wanda using her telekinesis powers to suspend the explosion. Peter knew that if they couldn’t think it properly their actions could be dangerous. Peter then swung towards their direction as he saw Wanda diverted the explosion containing Brock into a nearby building. He swung quickly towards and tried to rescue as many civilians as he could in time. As he rescued several Wakanda humanitarian workers there were some who have failed to be saved in time. The explosion destroyed a nearby building killing several workers there. Peter himself managed to save around 10 civilians but the explosion hurled him towards a nearby building and shrapnel pierced through his right leg. The civilians were safe but Peter himself was injured. Captain America quickly attended Peter and calmed him down. Wanda was horrified for what she had done. She used her powers to remove the shrapnel out of Peter’s leg but Peter himself was unable to partake in any future missions temporarily to allow him to recover. As Peter was in the hospital in the US he saw the news of General Thunderbolt Ross’s announcement to the world of the Sokovia Accords created in response to the damages caused by the Avengers despite their hero duties. The UN will establish a panel to oversee the team. Peter was having mixed feelings over the Sokovia Accords. On 1 point he felt that the Avengers do need to be in check and this is because of what happened in Sokovia and in Lagos. Even if they were heroes other civilians were just average human beings. The other suffered more compared to what the Avengers have suffered. On the other hand he felt that the accords might use the Avengers for their own political gains when the time comes. Realizing how he doesn’t have to be a part in this as he is ruled out of the Avengers temporarily Peter decided to rest and heal up. The following month in the Avengers HQ they were divided with the decisions of the Sokovia Accords. Tony supports it as he believes that he is guilty for the creation of Ultron which almost ended the world. Meanwhile, Steve was more faithful in his own judgement with the politicians. The events where Zemo tracked down and killed Bucky Barnes’s former Hydra handler would still occur too. After stealing the book that contained the triggered words for Bucky he then planted a bomb at the UN conference in Vienna. The conference was attended by most political leaders around the world including king T’Chaka of Wakanda. Natasha was also present at the conference and Peter was watching the news from his home when he saw the bombing occurred killing many leaders including king T’Chaka who was the nearest to the explosion. As the security cameras caught Bucky on tape a manhunt for him began. Steve wanted to bring Barnes by himself and he believes that there is still good in Barnes. He had Falcon and Sharon Carter’s help with him. Peter was horrified at the news and he knew that he isn’t still fit 100% to take down the Winter Soldier. Peter wasn’t aware that the Winter Soldier was Captain America’s best friend. However, he was convinced by J. Jonah Jameson to give him a shot to cover the incident of the bombing in Vienna. Still impressed by his last work in Sokovia Jonah gave him the green light with the plane tickets to Vienna. As Peter arrived at the location he saw the damages of the explosion. He also saw many police cars across the street moving in the same direction. Realizing that this could be a hit or miss location of Bucky Peter started trailing the police cars in his Spider-Man suit. Bucky found himself cornered as he faced off with T’Challa alias the Black Panther himself. Captain America and Falcon were also there and tried to bring in Barnes. As they faced off Spider-Man swung into action. He waited from across the building to capture some juicy shots for the Daily Bugle. The police including War Machine then arrived and apprehended all of them. Zemo impersonated a psychiatrist who influated the place where Barnes was detained. Peter decided to be on the lookout outside the building after Barnes was activated via the Hydra brainwashing command by Zemo. He went on a rampage to escape and Steve  managed to stop Barnes after Barnes briefly fought with them. Peter saw the alarms that the buildings were triggered and he saw someone suspicious escaping from the facility but he was being doubtful. He was more worried about what was going to happen inside. Peter decided to put his suit on and headed inside. He saw Rogers stopping Barnes and sneaking him away. As Steve and Sam Wilson were questing Bucky Sam spotted on his radar that someone was spying on them. Sam deployed his drones but they were webbed. They saw that it was none other then Spider-Man who was listening to them. Peter said that he was merely worried about their safety and decided to tell them. Bucky then told them that Zemo was the real bomber behind Vienna and wanted the location of the Siberian Hydra base. He wanted to activate the other Winter Soldiers who were in cryogenic stasis. Steve and Sam knew that the authorities will not believe Bucky’s statement. Peter was a little hesitant at first but then he decided to show them a picture of Zemo. He took a picture of the suspicious person he saw earlier at the roof of the building. Barnes then confirmed that this was indeed Zemo who was the same person that manipulated him. With that confirmed Bucky, Steve, Sam and Peter decided to go on a run. They knew that they needed to stop Zemo from activating his targets. Rogers and Wilson decided to recruit Maximoff, Clint and Scott Lang to their team. As they were going rogue and on the fight to track down Zemo they were intercepted at the airport. Awaiting them was none other than Tony and his team that consisted of Black Panther, Black Widow, Vision and War Machine. Tony told them to stand down as he has been given direct orders to stop Bucky Barnes from escaping. Tony himself said that he would not hesitate to stop them or take serious actions if necessary. Captain America knew that time is of the essence and told his team to prepare. Everyone else was surprised to see Spider-Man present. They thought that he was still in the hospital recovering from his injuries sustained in Lagos. Spider-Man said that he couldn’t do that as an Avenger and he tried to convince Tony’s team that Bucky was not the real bomber and that Zemo was the real mastermind behind all of this. Tony refused to believe him as he said that Zemo alone couldn’t orchestrate an entire bombing til the framing of Bucky. Tony added that if Spider-Man doesn’t stand down he will reveal Peter’s identity to the others. Realizing that he was blackmailed Peter Parker was furious at Tony. Shocking everyone else at the airport Peter removed his mask revealing his true identity to everyone for the 1st time. He said that he is Peter Parker from New York and a photographer for the Daily Bugle. He added that “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility” which is why he was more than willing to fight for the truth even if he was blackmailed by Tony Stark. Peter then put his mask back on and stayed by Captain America’s side. The both sides eventually clashed until Romanoff realized Peter’s words in the rift between the Avengers. She then shot several tasers towards Black Panther allowing Steve and Bucky to escape. War Machine and Falcon were battling with each other when Rhodes himself was accidentally shot down by Vision. Rhodes was crashing down into the ground and Tony knew that he couldn’t make it in time. Peter’s spider sense started tingling and he swung to save him for crashing to the ground. As a result he wasn’t paralyzed. Rhodes was thankful at Peter for saving his life and Rhodes looked at Tony and told him that he owes Peter his life. He told Tony to let Peter off. Tony said that Peter took his chances when he sided with Captain America. Peter then showed evidence of Zemo leaving the building after the attacks earlier on Bucky. Peter said that Captain America and Bucky were heading to Siberia to stop him. Tony then told Peter to leave as his duties as an Avenger has been revoked. However, he is thankful for him saving Rhodes’s life. Peter then said that he is disappointed with how the Avengers turned out after a small rift. He threw away his mask and suit before leaving. The rest of Rogers’s team was captured and detained at the raft prison while Natasha went into exile. The rest of Civil War will play out the same as in our universe with Stark heading to Siberia’s Hydra facility after deciding to believe Peter’s words and Tony later clashing with Steve Rogers and Bucky after learning that Bucky was responsible for the death of his own parents in an assassination back in 1991. With the Avengers fractured Zemo was about to commit suicide but was stopped by Black Panther. Peter returned to New York City with the shots taken at Vienna and Bucharest. Peter decided to quit being a photographer at the Daily Bugle because he wanted to spent more time with Aunt May and decided to continue his studying to earn his doctorate in biochemistry. At the same time he started working as a scientist in a nearby laboratory. He felt that this was where his potential would be the best. He also decided to quit Spider-Man for good after realizing how heroes can be too ambitious with it resulting in more damage. Meanwhile, in the shadows the gentleman was disappointed as the information he supplied to Zemo of the Avengers have failed. But he knew that with the Avengers fractured he will soon be able to manipulate the world even easier.
                                              Part 4 (Infinity War)
2 years have passed since the events of Civil War and it’s now 2018. Peter-Three has earned his doctorate in biochemistry. He is also a research assistant and scientist in a lab majoring in chemical engineering in the nearest place. Peter lived separately from Aunt May but he was still in close contact. He has also quit his job as a photographer at the Daily Bugle after his last rift with Tony Stark. He was no longer a part of the Avengers. Although he saved James Rhodes from being paralyzed during the events of Civil War Tony told Peter that his actions of siding with Captain America’s team had resulted in his Avengers membership being terminated. Peter felt that being Spider-Man was no longer worth it. The crime rates around New York and the world had dropped even without Spider-Man around. He somehow wondered that Gwen would still have been alive if he had decided to quit being Spider-Man earlier. While his life was relatively peaceful Peter somehow felt that he missed his web slinging days. Steve Rogers and his team were still on the run after the events of Civil War. The beginning of this Infinity War universe will be the same with Thanos acquiring the Power and Space Stones after obliterating Xandar and the Statesman carrying the Asgardians respectively with Hulk landing on Earth and warning Doctor Strange, Wong and Stark about the impending doom of Thanos. Our story resumes here in the Battle of Greenwich Village. As the battle was happening Peter was packing up for his work at the laboratory. Peter was about to go on a date with a Daily Bugle reporter named Mary Jane who was present during the final battle in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 witnessing Spider-Man battling Rhino across the street. After defeating Rhino MJ approached Spider-Man for an interview but he fled away. Peter without his disguise would later meet with MJ and they felt the chemistry between them. They would then decide to be together in a relationship and it now has only been 2 years since then but MJ still doesn’t know of Peter’s true identity as Spider-Man. As he packed up in his lab his spider sense started tingling. His co workers told him that strange looking objects were in Earth’s airspace. He then saw a humongous spaceship in New York City. Peter knew that something was amiss but he told himself that he has already quit his duties as Spider-Man. “Let the other Avengers handle it” he thought to himself. Due to the absence of Spider-Man in the battle against Ebony and Cull there were only Doctor Strange, Wong and Tony Stark who fought against the Black Order. Maw wanted to retrieve the Time Stone. Due to the enhancement placed on the Stone Maw then defeated Strange and brought him back aboard a spaceship. Without Spider-Man’s help only Tony Stark and Doctor Strange were aboard Maw’s spaceship while Wong stayed behind to guard the Sanctum. Bruce then saw the phone which Steve handed to Tony during the Civil War where Tony could contact Steve should he need his help. Peter then received a call from MJ that something had arrived in New York and needed to cancel their date. Peter then saw the news on TV from an nearby cafe of Tony Stark and the rest battling against the Black Order. Peter himself has never met such beings as Ebony and Cull. He went to the location where the Avengers were battling earlier and only saw destruction everywhere. Peter then saw Bruce was there still recovering from the fight. Peter recognized Bruce but never expected him to be around. Bruce was thankful to meet Peter Parker and they talked. Bruce told him about the mad Titan and his plans to snap half of the universe away. Bruce then asked what was happening between Tony and Steve where Peter then explained what happened. Peter also told Bruce that he was Spider-Man all along as Bruce was not aware of his identity. Bruce was surprised but then said that he was glad to have an ally with him. Bruce said that he should head to the Avengers Compound. Peter still had Rhodes’s number as Rhodes owed him a favor for saving him. Peter said that they should regroup. The events with Thor and the Guardians would still play out the same as in our universe with Thor, Rocket and Groot going to Nidavellier to forge the Stormbreaker while the rest went to find the Reality Stone which Thanos had just acquired upon their arrival and kidnapped Gamora who revealed the location of the Soul Stone which was on Vormir. Thanos then sacrificed Gamora on Vormir to obtain the Soul Stone. The events of Edinburgh also played out the same with Cap and his team rescuing Wanda and Vision after being attacked by Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive to which they return to the compound and met up with Bruce, Rhodes and Peter in this universe. Steve Rogers said that he was happy that Peter had continued his life even without his alter ego as Spider-Man. Peter then told the rest about Thanos and his plans. They knew that they only had 1 option which was to head over to Wakanda. There they might able to retrieve the Mind Stone from Vision without killing him but Peter wasn’t sure if he still fits in the team as he was no longer an Avenger. Steve and Natasha assured him that they needed all the help that they could get. With Peter being a genius they knew that having either Peter Parker or Spider-Man in the battle would boost them. Peter went back to the laboratory and told his co-workers that he needed to take some time off for his plans. He told MJ that he was going on a mission and he could it disclose anything yet but he will return soon. He told Aunt May that he was going to help his friends. After finishing his tasks Peter headed to Wakanda where they began the extraction of the Mind Stone from Vision. He met Shuri there and the duo worked with Bruce to begin removing the Stone. Meanwhile, Tony managed to kill Ebony Maw after using the same tactic Spider-Man did in our universe. He managed to blast a hole in the spaceship and it tossed Ebony out into space and froze him. With that Tony managed to save Doctor Strange and they went towards Thanos’s destroyed home world of Titan. The rest of the events will play out the same with Nebula telling the Guardians to meet her on Titan and they met Stark and Strange there reassuring them that they have a common enemy which was Thanos. Thanos would still fight all of them. However, without the help of Spider-Man as in our universe much of the battle’s outcome will be similar. The Guardians tried to restrain Thanos but failed and Mantis would have been killed as Spider-Man wouldn’t be there to save her as in our universe. The Avengers and Guardians tried to defeat Thanos but failed. The mad Titan got the Time Stone and went to Earth to obtain the Mind Stone. Meanwhile, on Earth Rogers has reunited with Bucky Barnes and the others. They decided to ready their defenses and meanwhile, Peter opened his briefcase and prepared his new Iron-Spider suit just in case. Bruce said that he needed to provide more firepower for the rest of the team. Since he couldn’t turn into the Hulk he fought in Stark’s Hulkbuster armor. As the Black Order arrived with the army they eventually clashed with the Wakandans. Peter stayed behind to fasten the extraction process of Vision’s Mind Stone. Corvus Glaive arrived and ambushed them but he didn’t know that Peter was there and Peter had powers. Shuri tried to attack Corvus but was defeated. Peter himself turned into his Iron-Spider suit and started webbing Corvus. He was not a superhero in almost 2 years and he was a little rusty. Thor, Rocket and Groot would arrive to reinforce the Avengers. Thanos’s army was losing but Shuri and Peter were unable to complete the extraction on time as Thanos arrived. Thanos tossed aside Shuri with ease and Peter was shocked in fear as his spider sense went tingling like crazy. He tried to kick the mad Titan but Thanos quickly threw him against the wall. With the Stone unable to be destroyed Vision told Wanda to destroy it herself and much of our universe will be the same with Thanos still killing Vision after removing the Mind Stone and Thor still wounding him but the Snap still happened anyway. Peter recovered from consciousness and saw as Shuri and the others disappeared into dust. Peter received a phone call from MJ, picked it up and he heard MJ telling him that she was feeling something strange and the phone just dropped on the ground. He went out and saw the others starting to vanish. Rocket, Romanoff, Rhodes, M’Baku, Banner and everybody else were still around. Peter then understood that Thanos was victorious in a Snap. The other Avengers that survived looked in horror as they could do nothing. Peter Parker tried to call Aunt May but nobody answered the phone. Peter then started trying to give up his duties as a hero. Feeling angry that he has lost everyone that he loved Peter-Three wasn’t sure of what to do next. He realized that he only wanted revenge to kill the mad Titan. With Thanos still alive elsewhere bent on bloodthirst and revenge Peter started using his resources at Wakanda to construct a Spider-Man suit that could slay even the mad Titan himself.
                                                 Ultimate Finale (Endgame)
3 weeks after the defeat of the Avengers at the hands of Thanos Peter Parker started working closely with the surviving Wakandans to create a powerful Spider-Man suit made out of vibranium that could slay Thanos himself. With Aunt May and MJ gone Peter’s last hope of humanity was all gone. All he wanted to do was to find Thanos and kill him but with Thanos gone off the radar they weren’t sure whether to locate him. Captain Marvel then rescued Tony and Nebula that were driving in space after their battle with Thanos on Titan. They eventually reunited with the rest of the Avengers and Guardians who survived on Earth. Peter met Tony and blamed Tony for everything that happened. He said that if Tony never had a rift with the other Avengers they would have defeated Thanos. Steve tried to consult Peter but Peter said that he has lost everyone that he cared about in this world and there is nothing that Tony can do. Tony fought back and said that Peter should have continued being Spider-Man. Even after the Civil War he chose his side to be with Steve and he was there when the Black Order 1st came to Earth. They could have reversed the odds of victory. After a while, Tony and Peter calmed down. Rocket Raccoon then told the other heroes that their satellites found a radar where a significant impact happened on a distant planet. The Avengers and Guardians knew that it was the actions of Thanos using the stones. They figured that they could reverse the actions of Thanos by obtaining the Gauntlet. They eventually went to the planet and they saw Thanos resting in his house. The Avengers started attacking Thanos and Peter with his vibranium Spider-Man suit shot webs that incapacitated the mad Titan. Thanos then told them that he had already used the Stones to destroy the Stones. There was no use of them to him as they had served no more purpose. Enraged, Thor decapitated Thanos with his Stormbreaker. The heroes then went back to Earth after learning that nothing could be done. Peter eventually gave up on being Spider-Man and put away his vibranium suit in the garbage. He didn’t feel that he had any point left in his life so he decided to throw away his life. He quit his job at the lab and soon became an alcoholic. Peter started fighting in the underground matches for a bet to earn a living. He felt that it was the only way to release his anger of losing everyone he loved.
5 years have passed since the Snap and it’s now 2023. Steve Rogers was helping out others coping with the aftermath of the Blip while Natasha was still coordinating with the other heroes and helping others who were struggling. She was also searching for Clint Barton who became the vigilante known as Ronin after the death of his family. Steve would them meet Natasha to catch up on things. They were then interrupted by Scott Lang alias Ant-Man and Scott explained how he only experienced 5 hours in the Quantum Realm. Although 5 years have already passed in the real world he proposed to them that they could go back in time by time traveling to reverse the actions of Thanos in the present. Steve said that they needed several brains for this and Bruce agreed to help them while Tony at 1st was hesitant and he said that he already had a family with Pepper and Morgan. In this universe Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is not part of this storyline just yet with Rocket Raccoon also agreeing to help the Avengers and they said that they needed as many brains to help them. Steve said that Peter Parker is a genius who could contribute to the team but Peter has since fallen to the slums of the underground fighting. The group eventually met with Peter and told him that they needed his help. Peter refused to say that the idea of time travel was absurd and that it wasn’t realistic. However, Steve Rogers told Peter that this could be the chance to restore his loved ones for real. Peter felt that he could meet Aunt May and MJ which would be great. He has lost a lot in his life. The Stacys, Uncle Ben and Harry Osborn. Peter said that he would consider it and left to fight. Natasha would recruit Clint who was in Tokyo killing criminals while Banner and Rocket recruited an overweight Thor. Eventually, Tony cracked the time travel theory and Peter joined them. Peter said that he was willing to put his differences aside to help create the time traveling device. After the machine was made the team split up. Natasha went with Clint to Vormir to obtain the Soul Stone from Red Skull, Thor and Rocket to Asgard to obtain the Reality Stone out of Jane Foster, Rhodes and Nebula to Morag to steal the Power Stone before Star-Lord and Banner, Tony, Steve, Ant-Man and Peter traveled back to New York City in 2012 to obtain the Space and Time Stones from the Ancient One and S.H.I.E.L.D. respectively. Much of our Endgame universe would play out the same with Natasha sacrificing herself so that Clint could obtain the Soul Stone, Rocket extracting the Reality Stone from Jane while Thor met with his mother and retrieved Mjolnir, and Banner convinceing the Ancient One to give the Time Stone to him. Peter witnessed back the invasion of Earth and he saw himself in an distance fighting against the Chituari. He also saw himself talking to Aunt May after rescuing her. Feeling more motivated to complete the mission and succeed Peter and Steve retrieved the Mind Stone from Hydra’s sleeper agents but Tony and Scott failed to retrieve the Space Stone. Rogers and Stark went back to 1970 where they obtained more Pym Particles and an earlier version of the Tesseract. 2014 Thanos learned of his future self success and the Avengers attempt to undo his actions in the future. He then sent 2014 Nebula forward in time to prepare for his arrival. The Avengers then learned that Natasha has sacrificed herself to obtain the Soul Stone. They placed the Stones into the Gauntlet that Peter, Bruce, Tony and Rocket had created. Bruce wielded the Gauntlet and snapped as he had the more resistance to the radiation but the damage taken was enough to hinder him. He snapped to bring everyone who was missing in the Snap back to life. Peter then received phone calls from Aunt May and Mary Jane. They said that they weren’t aware of what was going on but they were glad that Peter was safe. As Peter was about to continue talking his spider sense started to tingle. He looked outside and saw several beams heading towards the Avengers Compound. Peter alerted the rest to take cover and the entire Avengers Compound was bombarded. They then saw the mad titan’s arrival with his warships. Like in our universe the Avengers would then fight against Thanos. Tony, Steve, Thor and Peter would clash with the mad Titan himself. A more ruthless Thanos proved to be a more formidable foe with all 4 of them combined. Peter has armed himself with his vibranium Spider-Man suit and put up a fight against Thanos but Thanos eventually defeated him. He shot several stun webs at him but Thanos stayed strong. As the Avengers were on the brink of defeat a restored Doctor Stephen Strange arrived with the reinforcements made up of the Ravagers, the Masters of the Mystic Arts, the restored Avengers, armies of Wakanda and Asgard and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Captain Marvel appeared destroying Thanos’s warship but Thanos overpowered her and seized the Gauntlet. Instead of Tony tricking Thanos to get the Stones Peter-Three did it this time. Peter said that he waited 5 years to kill Thanos and his chance was finally here. He said that not only will he snap to decimate Thanos and his armies but also to create a world where the Stacys, Uncle Ben and Harry Osborn were alive. “This one is for u Gwen” he said as he snapped causing Thanos and his armies to disintegrate while his armies were burning up from the impact of the Snap. He was then teleported to the Soul Stone where he saw Gwen and he apologized to her for not saving her and she forgive him saying that she was happy for him and MJ and in her final words she said “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility”. Peter’s vibranium suit was combined with a nanotech healing that suppressed the damage. Peter realized that his snapped arm was damaged but he was also grateful that Thanos and the rest eventually disintegrated. In this universe Tony didn’t die and continued with his family. Steve would return in time to return all the stones to their original timelines and locations. Peter himself reunited with MJ and Aunt May. He told them both about his true identity as Spider-Man after all these years with MJ and Aunt May embracing Peter who was still recuperating from his injuries. May said that Gwen, Harry and Uncle Ben would be proud of him. Sometime later, as Peter has already recovered from his wounds with a robotic arm created in Wakanda he saw the news of another web slinger in town who was an amateur hero with the identity of Spider-Man. Peter thought to himself that this could be an excellent chance to pass down the mantle of Spider-Man at last. Peter then approached the amateur hero who turned out to be none other than the MCU version of Peter Parker. Peter said that he is the Amazing Spider-Man and will train him to become a much better Spider-Man then he ever was and he will become known to the world as the Ultimate Spider-Man…
                                                 THE END!
And that is going to wrap up the fan fiction on what if Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man was in the MCU. I had a lot of fun making these Spider-Man what ifs and I’m very happy with the final result with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker appearing at the end of both of the fan fictions and both of the Spider-Men beginning to training him. Do make sure to be on the lookout for more what ifs coming soon. Take care guys and have a fantastic day. Peace out!

you’re an idiot - natasha romanoff x reader
word count; 1,683
warnings; violence, gunshots, injury
a/n; craving some fluff so enjoy:] finally managed to finish this and get it out of my plethora of wips.. i love natasha romanoff sm, esp protective and caring nat whew i’m an absolute simp🧎‍♀️
Tumblr media
you had a habit that, considering your line of work, your friends classified as a dangerous one. you always act before thinking and your girlfriend - the one and only natasha romanoff - was sure that if it weren’t for your powers, you would probably end up with a lot more injuries. natasha has more or less gotten used to your impulsivity, often just scolding you gently while fussing over you to make sure weren’t severely hurt.
but this time, this time you really fucked up. as most missions go, it was supposed to be a simple data retrieval mission. key word being: supposed. instead, there were a whole bunch of enemy agents waiting in the shadows. when you and wanda had turned your backs for just a second to look at the computer, they stormed in- through the many windows and even from the goddamn roof. you quickly created a barrier and turned your attention back to the computer while wanda used her magic to fight them off. you let out a growl of annoyance when you realised this whole place was a setup and as you whirl around to join the fight your eyes landed on an agent with a suspiciously large gun pointed straight towards wanda’s back, finger above the trigger.
you threw up another barrier as you launched yourself in front of the sokovian, sorely underestimating the blast of the weapon. a bright light filled your vision and a strong pain bloomed from your stomach, eventually consuming your whole body. the two of you were flung back from the force, your body slamming into wanda’s. one of her arms instinctively wrapped around you as she quickly pulled the two of you upwards, her own magic casting a barrier of her own as she went straight for the broken windows. she risked a glance down at you, her heart sinking when she realised you were unconscious. cursing quietly, she urged herself to go faster towards the quinjet hidden deep within the forests near the supposedly abandoned base. thankfully the quinjet wasn’t compromised and she laid you down quickly on the seats before running to the front of the jet to punch in the coordinates of the compound, allowing FRIDAY to take over pilot controls.
“FRIDAY, please let the team know that the mission was compromised. y/n is hurt and will need medical attention.” wanda instructed as she hurries back to your side. kneeling next to you, her hands and eyes begin to glow red as she tries to heal you, but after a couple minutes she realised it wasn’t working when you weren’t waking up. her heart picked up its pace as she pressed two fingers to your pulse point, heaving a sigh of relief when she felt a heartbeat- it was faint but it was there. mumbling a quick apology, she used her powers to slip into your mind, looking for the moment before you were knocked out.
a man, a weapon and a bright green orb.. that flew through your barriers, straight into you. a gasp flew out of wanda’s mouth and she yanked your shirt up, wincing at the bruise with hints of green that was forming in your skin. wanda stands up and pulls out her phone from her bag nearby, taking a picture of the bruise to send to bruce and tony as a quick heads up for what they would have to take care of when they landed at the compound. using her magic, she gently lifts your head so that she could sit down with your head on her lap. her eyes kept darting between your closed eyes and the bruise on your stomach, what kind of alien weapons did they create?
when the quinjet finally landed at the compound, wanda used her magic to gently lift you up and she hurried out of the jet where the rest of the team was waiting. unfortunately, natasha was on a seperate mission with vision and while they knew they should’ve told her the minute you were hurt, steve had argued that the redhead might get distracted from the mission which could be dangerous.
“where’s nat?” wanda asked as bruce and dr cho - tony had called her in just in case - wheeled you away.
“rogers here said that telling her could cause romanoff to get distracted and hurt, so he’ll only inform her when he gets a status report.” tony scoffed, side eyeing the captain.
“you know nat’s going to kill you right?” wanda raised a brow at steve who just sighed a “yeah i know.” before tony whisked wanda away to get a quick checkup of her own.
to say natasha was furious was an understatement. after sending in her status report, natasha set the quinjet in autopilot, legs kicked back as she started to brainstorm on what kind of date to bring you on. but then a call from steve made her take back control of the jet as she flew back the compound in record time, vision hanging onto his seat for dear life. he might be made out of literal vibranium, but it wasn’t the speed that scared the android. rather it was the murderous gaze in natasha’s eyes.
“how long has she been out?” natasha had steve backed into the corner of the waiting room, eyes filled with anger.
“since she got hit by the blast.” steve replies, a bead of sweat dripping down his forehead. there weren’t many things that could scare this supersoldier but an angry natasha romanoff was definitely high on his list of fears.
“and how long ago was that? don’t lie.” natasha speaks lowly, the glint in her eyes making steve gulp nervously.
“they touched down yesterday evening-“ steve’s voice was cut off with an angry shout from natasha.
“yesterday?!” natasha hand flies up to grip steve’s arm tightly as she started to scold him in russian.
“i should kill you for waiting this long to tell me y/n was hurt- do you have a death wish rogers? is that it?” natasha switches back to english seamlessly, her grip on steve’s arm tightening. before she could restart her scolding, the door to your room swung open.
“y/n’s awake and she’s asking for you,” wanda informs natasha, stepping quickly to side to avoid being run over by the russian as she quickly sprints into the room. steve rubs his arm with a slight grimace as he follows natasha.
“detka, how are you feeling?” natasha quickly settles next to you, hand finding yours.
“sore, but i’ll be okay. i’m sorry for worrying you natty.” you pout a little at the redhead, rubbing circles on the back of her hand.
“what happened?” natasha asks softly, bringing your hand up to kiss it gently.
“there was a guy with some huge alien gun. it was pointed straight at wanda so i jumped in with a barrier.. but the blast went through it?” your brows scrunch in confusion as you tried to recall the exact events. usually your barries were strong to withstand even wanda’s attacks so what was so different about this weapon?
“you’re an idiot.” natasha simply states, a light laugh escaping her lips when she saw you resume your pouting.
“as i said i didn’t expect the blast to penetrate my barrier…” you mutter out, one hand going to pick at the bandage wrapped around your midsection.
“please stop picking at your bandages moya lyubov.” natasha goes to grasp your other hand in hers, pressing a soft kiss to your lips which made you smile.
“can’t we use dr cho’s cradle to fix me up?” you ask curiously, turning to look at bruce who had just come in to check your vitals.
“well, since the blast was from an alien weapon we had to monitor it first before we tried to put you in the cradle. we didn’t want the wound to react badly which could cause more harm than good. could i check it?” bruce replies before motioning to the bandage at his question. you nod and let go of one of natasha’s hands to allow some space for bruce to undo the bandages.
wincing slightly at the feeling of the cool air hitting your skin, you hear natasha gasp softly when the bruise was revealed. it was still very large but the green that was there before seemed to have largely disappeared. the bandage that was covering your midsection was covered in a light green substance so bruce quickly cut it away and instructed steve to get some new ones.
“alright, i’ll have to run some tests on whatever this is and some blood tests. we did a set when you were first brought back and there were traces of .. whatever the blast was so we want to make sure it’s fully out of your system. so far it looks like your own magic is able to heal you, just make sure you rest fully until the bruise is completely gone. i’ll send this to the lab and then i’ll be back to draw your blood.” bruce instructs before he hurries off. steve comes back in not long after and passes natasha the medical items, allowing the redhead to wrap up your midsection again.
“so.. does this mean i’m off missions?” you question, your hand moving to play with natasha’s hair.
“it means you’re on complete bed rest detka, i’m not allowing you to leave our room.” natasha replies as she fastens the bandage around your torso. you whined softly but a raised eyebrow from natasha makes you go quiet.
“don’t worry, i won’t take on any missions until you’re better, okay?” natasha promises you, kissing you on the cheek. she turns to look at steve, smiling sweetly before continuing, “steve will make sure of that, won’t he?”
you look at steve in slight confusion, unsure if he could really afford to have two avengers out of commission. but you cheered internally when steve nods in affirmation. sometimes being an idiot paid off because a couple weeks off with natasha sounds amazing.

Fight For It
Summary: Everything was fine and dandy between Wanda and Natasha until you joined. What measures will the two go to to have you for their own?
Series Warnings: Angst, fluff.
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Reader/Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Words: 987
-=+=-
"It's not everyday you see a pretty girl around here," a suave voice speaks up from behind you and you jump in fright, dropping the mug. "Oh, shit, I'm sorry." A gorgeous woman with bright red hair cascading down her back in a neat braid leans down to to pick up the chipped cup. "Didn't realize I was so terrifying." You chuckle uneasily, watching her warily as she hands it back to you. "Romanoff. Natasha Romanoff."
"I'm Y/-" An obnoxious beeping fills the room. Natasha checks her watch before flashing you a sympathetic smile.
"Sorry. I have a meeting to get to. Something about a new recruit. If I had a choice, I'd stay here but-" A gentle, sing song voice rings out.
"Y/N? It's almost time for your interview." The two of you turn to see Wanda, her hands resting easily in the pocket of her worn, grey cardigan. "Oh. I see you've already met Natasha."
If you can even call making a fool of yourself in front of her as 'meeting her' then sure.
Wanda's dark brown eyebrows furrow making your heart skip a beat.
"Well, we better get going." She turns around abruptly, walking briskly down the long corridor. You sprint after her, as Natasha watches you amusedly.
-=+=-
"So, what are your intentions here?" A man with dark, cropped hair leans over the desk, shining a bright desk lamp in your eyes, making you squint.
"Oh Tony, stop with the dramatics." He rolls his eyes, leaning back into his chair.
"But that's the fun part!" A charming man with a boyish grin and a slightly overgrown crewcut, Steve, rolls his eyes before extending his hand at you.
"Don't mind Tony, he's just a nuisance. I've read your file. Specialized soldier nicknamed 'Blood Angel' until a few years ago, making your own weapons that best suited your abilities such as taser repulsors and mechanical wings connected to your mind?" Tony's eyebrow arches upwards. "Impressive. Sam will be very happy to know there's another flyer on the team." Your eyes widen.
"Does that mean I'm hired?" Steve smiles at you.
"You're hired young grasshopper!" Tony pops out, flashing you a toothy grin.
Natasha smiles from the corner of the room, in her own little world, watching as you celebrate internally, allowing yourself a little fistpump as you exit the room.
Wanda watches Nat, her eyes narrowing as she follows her line of sight. She frowns as Nat smiles dreamily at your retreating figure. Clearly, she had some competition now. This was about to get a whole lot messier.
-=+=-
You groan, your back throbbing as you pick yourself up off the floor.
"I'm out. Someone call 911." A breathy laugh echoes out from behind you.
"You can't just tap out like that, you look too good under me. I won't let you go easily." Nat smirks.
"You heard her. She wants out. Stop trying to break her back." A thick accent snarks. You close your eyes, preparing yourself for the onslaught of nasty comments.
"I'm sure she'd love for me to break her back. Just not in the way you think witchy. Isn't that right котенок (kitten)?" Nat smirks as Wanda scowls, offering you a hand which you gratefully accept.
You open your mouth to respond but Wanda cuts you off, wrenching your hand from Nat's grasp possessively. She reaches out for your hand but a sharp glare from Wanda has her retracting her hand.
"Come, I made you your favorite!" You perk up instantly.
"Instant noodles?" Her cheerful smile falters.
"Er- No. Paprikash." Nat snickers from behind you. You elbow her, turning back to Wanda with a grateful, slightly overblown smile.
"That sounds great! Thank you Wan!" Your hand slips from hers as you skip towards the kitchen. Wanda's eyes follow your figure, a dopey smile on her face.
"Whipped."
Natasha spent the rest of the afternoon in the med bay.
-=+=-
"Natty! I've been looking for you!" You exclaim, rushing towards the disgruntled Russian, muttering something about 'magic' and 'gonna kill that god damn witch'.
Her angry façade falters as you grab her hand, leading her down the bland corridors of the compound, your bare feet slapping against the concrete floor.
'Y-You have?" She can feel her cheeks heat up at the thought.
"Y/N!" Wanda smiles cheerily watching as your deep Y/E/C eyes twinkle with delight. Her smile falters as her eyes land on Natasha who's scowl returns instantly at the sight of the brunette witch. "Oh. I was under the impression we'd be alone."
"Yeah but I remembered Nat and I thought 'hey, the more the merrier'!" You exclaim oblivious to the glowering stares exchanged between the two women. You clap your hands excitedly, sliding into the seat in front of you.
"Well it was beef stroganoff but-" she pulls the lid off the dish. "There's only enough for two." She smiles triumphantly at Nat, who sticks her tongue out.
"That's okay! I can share with Nat!" Wanda's slick smile slides off her face as you spoon-feed Natasha a slice of the stroganoff.
"Mmmmm... Delicious." Nat smiles deviously, licking her lips seductively as you giggle shyly. Wanda scowls, flopping back into her chair in defeat.
-=+=-
"Y/L/N where are you?" You skulk through the shadows, keeping a wary eye for enemies hidden in the cracks and crevices of the worn down headquarters.
"I found a compartment. Looks like it's meant to sustain human life as well as protect against any explosions. In other words, bomb-proof," you run your hands along the insulated wall of the small bunker.
"Fall in! We wait for backup before going in!" Steve's voice is strong, commanding but you ignore it, your curiosity getting the better of you.
The door slams shut behind you. You whirl around to find a man, rifle in hand, aimed straight for your head. He smiles wickedly, giving you a mock wave.
"мастер (master) sends his best."

Overprotective
pairing: Peter Parker (Tom Holland) x Banner!reader
summary: Peter Parker and Y/N Banner are dating. But, Y/N's overprotective family of Avengers doesn't know, because, well, they would freak.
word count: 6441
warnings: none
masterlist
Y/N technically didn't have a family. Not blood, anyway. They probably left her there, a toddler with hands that could melt metal. They may have died, but that was unlikely, as the toddler had a blanket and a stuffed elephant wrapped around her, catching the fat tears running down her cheeks and into her lap. A pink binky was stuck in her pursed lips.
The recipient of the baby still to this day had no idea why he was chosen. It isn't like he had any family either, so the baby wasn't related to him. And the baby didn't have a family either, so the recipient felt like he needed to take the poor little girl in. Her name was written on a small card of paper, but the man decided he wasn't going to use the last name. They both needed a family, and they would be one.
So, Y/N and Bruce Banner became a family.
She was still young when he was doing experiments, but she helped him through them, helped him stay sane. She went with him to Kolkata when he wanted to help instead of hurt. She went with Bruce when he was recruited to be in the Avengers Initiative, and even though she had powers herself and begged and cried to be apart of the mess, she was left with Jerry, who taught her how to play Galaga and showed her what the sunset looked like when you're high in the air.
Y/N was afraid the whole time that her father, the only family she ever had, was dead.
Aunt Nat had been the first one she had bonded with, and at this point, Natasha was basically her mother. She knew that there had been something between her father and the red head at some point, but she was unsure what happened, and she was too afraid to ask. Aunt Nat had taught her important things that her father couldn't, like how to paint her nails and die her own hair so she didn't have to spend money on it. She taught her which bras to wear on which dates, and what type of makeup to put on for what event. Y/N learned how to braid her own hair in multiple different styles, but also how to wear it down in different styles.
Aunt Nat taught her where to put her knife, and possibly guns, depending on the outfit or dress. She taught her where to hit a person depending on how bad she wanted to hurt them.
The next person she connected with was Tony. Tony gave her the best of everything she needed; computer, phone, clothes. Tony invited her to all the best parties, taught her how to use her looks to her advantage. He had Pepper teach her how to run in heels, how to appear innocent in order to lure the enemy in.
Tony made her heels with weapons built into them, for the tight dresses that couldn't conceal many weapons. He made a nail polish that changed color to detect a drug that had been added to her drink, taught her which drinks she should drink together, and which drinks boys may try to order her to mess her up. He taught her physics when she couldn't sleep, as well as teaching her how the Iron Man suits were designed and built.
Y/N had gradually gotten close to Steve. She didn't quite know when they got close or how it happened, but there was something about Steve. He let her fall asleep on his shoulder during movie night, and he helped her make cookies on the weekends. He taught her how to make the cakes he would make with his mother in the 40s, and she taught him how to make the cakes she found on Pinterest.
Steve taught her how to hold her hands when she punched, which punches would hurt the worst and which ones would knock her opponent to the ground. He taught her how to wrap her knuckles before fights, how to keep her powers under control while she hit the punching bags.
Clint was spent more time with his family than he did at the tower, but the two of them were still close. Clint taught her how to shoot a bow, and the two had nerf gun wars, which annoyed the whole of the tower. No one was safe from their crossfire, especially in the common rooms. This did not exclude, however, personal rooms which they used to hide in and bribed the owner not to tell the other.
Clint taught her how a man - or woman, he didn't care - should treat her, and that if they treated her less than perfect, she should drop them immediately, because there were plenty of other fish in the sea and Y/N is the biggest, so everyone wants her. Clint taught her that she should never settle, that there was always someone more perfect until she found the most perfect, and she would know them when she saw them.
Thor wasn't around much, but when he was, Y/N showed him her new favorite movies and songs. Thor taught her how to play multiple Asgardian instruments. The two of them shared food from their worlds, and Thor even got her drunk on Asgardian mead once, which made Bruce go crazy. Thor had apologized profusely to the family of two, one of them laughing and the other running multiple tests to make sure she didn't have alcohol poisoning.
Thor taught Y/N that true heroes didn't need super powers - even though she had them - to be a hero. Real heroes, heroes like Thor, taught children how to play crazy Asgardian instruments, and gave them alcohol on accident and freaked the hell out at three in the morning when the girl fell off the kitchen counter where they were dancing (she was fine, not even a minor concussion).
Y/N finally had a family when her father joined the Avengers. And as much as the team had taught her and become her family, her father taught her the most important things; her father taught her all the knowledge she gained before she met Tony (that of a first year university student), how to dance and sing at the same time, how to love herself as she was. The two of them worked for weeks on a special material that could contain her heat, so when she got too much adrenaline she didn't set things on fire. Bruce was her first ever family member. He was the first person she ever loved; he taught her what love was.
And all these people were the most overprotective people she had ever met. She had never brought a boy to the tower - well, she tried once. The security system stopped her before she even got to the stairs. In order for a boy to come into the tower, he had to have a full background check and meet at least three of the Avengers. It was a dumb rule, but it was put in place after she tried to sneak the boy in the one time.
That rule made it insanely easy for her to fall for Peter Parker, the newest recruit. They couldn't tell anyone, though, especially not Bruce and Natasha. Natasha, mostly. She wanted kids so bad, and because she couldn't have them, Y/N was the closest thing. She would kill Peter if she knew that the two were together and didn't immediately tell her.
"Today is the day, I can feel it." Peter said into her ear, making Y/N giggle and squirm at the feeling of his breath against her neck. She opened her eyes and noticed it was already bright outside, meaning Natasha was most definitely up.
"Y/N! It's time to train! Rise and shine!" Natasha banged on her door, and Y/N stretched, rolling over in Peter's arms. She grabbed onto him, making him smile. He brushed Y/N's hair out of her face, and then kissed her. "I know you're awake! If you don't get up I'll shoot the door off it's hinges!" Natasha hit the door again, and Y/N groaned.
"Can't we just take one day off!" Y/N yelled back, and Peter rubbed his hands against her back. It felt so good in his arms; she never wanted to leave. Peter obviously didn't want her to leave either, as Y/N could feel him bringing her closer to him.
"No days off! Get your lazy ass out of bed!" Natasha yelled, and Y/N groaned, feeling tears prick her eyes. It was stupid to cry, this was something so small and meaningless, but she never got to spend time with Peter. They were always sneaking around, finding different times when they could sneak a quick kiss or whisper 'I love you's to each other. They tried to spend the night together as much as they could, but Tony needed Peter and Nat or Bruce needed Y/N, which lead to early mornings and Peter sticking to the side of the building in his underwear, one hand stuck to the glass wall and the other holding his clothes as he tried to find which window led to his room.
"I can go later!" Y/N yelled back, moving to bury her head into Peter's neck. He kissed her head, entailing their legs even more.
"Five seconds and the door is coming off!"
"I'm naked!" Peter had to hide his laughter bubbling up, and Y/N kissed him.
"I don't care! Three seconds!" Natasha yelled, and Y/N sighed, kicking her legs and making Peter wince as she hit his.
"Oh my God, I'm coming!" Y/N cried, getting up and grabbing random clothes. She threw the shorts and underwear she saw at Peter, who put them on before hopping out the window and moving.
"Finally." Natasha said when the younger girl opened the door. Y/N rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. She was in a terrible mood, her nice morning with Peter being ruined yet again. "Don't give me that attitude, Y/N. You wanted to be apart of this team, now you have to put in the effort." Natasha told her, and Y/N continued to pout.
"Why can't we do this after noon?" Y/N asked, and Natasha looked at what Y/N was wearing.
"You're wearing Peter's shirt." Nat said, and Y/N looked down to see that she was, in fact, wearing Peter's shirt. Another thing Y/N had learned from Natasha was how to lie.
"Yeah, we had a movie night in the common room late last night and I spilled hot chocolate on mine." Not too much information, but still risky, because she wasn't sure if anyone had been in the common room last night. Natasha raised an eyebrow, smirking. Y/N's heart leapt.
"So, our boy Peter was shirtless? While you watched a movie?" Natasha asked, walking into the room to sit on the bed. Y/N's cheeks turned pink, and Natasha raised both eyebrows, and Y/N licked her lips.
"Aren't we supposed to be training?" Y/N asked, moving to her drawers to grab appropriate clothes.
"You know he likes you?" Natasha mentioned, and Y/N froze.
Play dumb.
"Who?"
Okay, that was just idiotic.
"Um, Peter." Natasha's smile could be heard, even though Y/N's back was turned. She grabbed the leggings out of the drawer, and then moved to a higher drawer to grab the matching bra. She turned around and faced Natasha once more, who was smiling like a crazy woman.
"Oh, right." Y/N sighed moving to the bathroom to change. She left the door open, as Natasha liked to talk to her too much to have her close the door and miss those couple seconds.
"I think you like him too." Natasha said, and Y/N thought quickly, scoffing as she pulled off her shirt.
"As if! He's a little too nerdy for me." Y/N said, pulling the sports bra on.
"He's Spider-Man, Y/N. God, you need to be a little less picky." Natasha said, and Y/N shook her head as she smiled.
"He's not my type." Y/N argued, putting the leggings on. She walked out to see Natasha sitting on her bed, perfect as always.
"Oh? Then what is your type? Because apparently, it isn't tall, strong and handsome." Natasha said, and Y/N rolled her eyes. She turned to go to her closet, grabbing a loose t-shirt. She grabbed socks and her training shoes before looking at Natasha.
"Let's go." Y/N smiled, and Natasha just looked at her, not moving.
"Your bedhead looks suspiciously like sex-hair."
"Oh my God." Y/N walked back to her bathroom, running a brush through her hair before tying it up in a pony-tail.
"Now we can go." Natasha said, walking out of the room. Y/N followed, frowning when she saw Tony in a doorway pretty far down the hallway. Y/N realized it was Peter's room, and she tried to keep her facial expression neutral.
"The kid not wanting to wake up?" Natasha asked as they approached Tony. He sighed and shrugged, knocking on the door again.
"Kid, if you don't wake up and open this door in the next two seconds I'm benching you!" Tony yelled, and Natasha and Y/N shared a look. Y/N hoped Peter was about to make it back into his room.
"Hold on! I'm not dressed!"
"Oh, so now you're awake!" Tony yelled back, rolling his eyes at the girls. Peter opened the door, gym shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt thrown on.
"That is quite the bedhead, Peter." Y/N pointed out. She knew that if she pointed it out, Natasha wouldn't put two and two together as easily, because why would Y/N point out Peter's hair if she had been the cause of it?
"I just came back from patrol, the wind, ya know." Peter said, and Y/N made eyes at him, because the dumbass wore a mask, so his hair wouldn't have gotten mused in the wind. The other two didn't notice, or they didn't say anything, and the four of them made their way to the elevator.
"How was everyone's night?" Tony asked as they waited in the elevator. Y/N jumped in, because if she didn't and Peter spoke first, then their cover would be blown.
"Good. Peter and I had a movie night in the common room." Y/N said, and Tony raised his eyebrows as he put his hand behind his back.
"Really? What time? Your father and I were there pretty late." Tony mentioned. Y/N knew Peter was looking at her, but Y/N couldn't look at him. She was working hard to keep her secrets under wraps, and looking at Peter would make it all fall down.
"It was late. Really late. We couldn't sleep." Peter answered, and the elevator doors opened. The four made their way to the training room.
"Y/N told me she spilled hot chocolate on her shirt and you gave her yours." Natasha said, and Y/N breathed in sharply as she heard Tony whistle.
"And then what happened? Did you make love under the stars?" Tony asked, and Y/N tripped over herself, Peter catching her. The two looked at each other, Peter smiling, and Y/N shook herself.
"Can we ever just train?" Y/N asked as they walked into the training room. She immediately went to the box in the corner of the room where they kept her special tapes, the one she made with her father so she would stop setting things like boxing gloves and bags on fire.
"That would be boring." Natasha remarked, setting herself up.
~
"You told them you spilled coffee on your shirt?" Peter whispered as they sparred each other. Y/N kicked out and brought him to the floor with her, pinning him down.
"It was actually hot chocolate." Y/N mumbled, smirking.
"Creative." Peter mentioned, putting a leg up and flipping them over.
"Can we be done?" Y/N yelled, still underneath Peter. He chuckled, letting her up. Y/N moved to unwrap her hands, back turned to everyone.
"We are not done yet."
"We're not?" Y/N asked, turning toward Tony and Natasha. She turned, and immediately turned back around. Peter had taken off the tank top, which left little to the imagination anyways, and with the shirt off Y/N was reminded of last night (which definitely wasn't in the common room), and then this morning (which was cut short by the workout they were currently at). She took a deep breath. If they weren't done yet, then two could play at the game Peter was pushing.
Y/N took her shirt off, leaving her in the matching sports bra she had put on. She turned back to Peter, who was blatantly checking her out. Her eyes then moved to Natasha, who had a smirk on her face.
"I would like to be able to work out and not see naked minors, thank you. Put your damn clothes back on!" Sam said as he walked into the room.
"We aren't minors." Peter took his shirt and wiped the sweat around his neck and face off.
"I still don't wanna see your naked ass body walking around." Sam told the boy, walking over to the treadmill.
"We're done here anyway." Tony said, and Natasha's eyebrows raised, looking at Tony as if he had just slapped her.
"No we are not-"
"I am not making two half-naked, horny minors-"
"Not minors!"
"Horny?"
"Work out right now. Especially not when one of them has a father who could walk in at any minute!" Tony continued, despite the fact that Y/N and Peter both interrupted him.
"Great, goodbye!" Y/N said as she unwrapped her hands. She ran out, following Peter and forgetting her shirt in the workout room. She ran to their spot, which was Peter's small office/lab he had been given. No one went there unless they needed something, and the windows - unlike the windows in the man lab - were one way, meaning no one could see in.
"Y/N! Why are you going so fast!" Bruce grabbed onto his daughters shoulder, stopping her sprint. Y/N turned, smiling as her father retracted his hand when he realized she was sweaty.
"Gotta take a shower. Love ya, Dad!" Y/N yelled as she began to run down the hallway again.
"That isn't the way to your room!" Bruce yelled after her, and Y/N turned around, jogging backwards.
"Shortcut!" She quickly supplied turning the corner to Peter's lab. She made it to the dark windows, pulling on the door, which didn't budge.
"Peter let me in!" Y/N yelled, leaning against the door. Peter opened it, and Y/N fell forward, into Peter's arms.
"Movie night? Really?" Peter asked, pulling her into the lab and shutting and locking the door.
"Yes, well, my aunt is a world class spy who was trained in the red room, so I couldn't just stall. I had your shirt on when she came in." Y/N said, and Peter shook his head, moving one hand to her cheek. He leaned down and kissed her, and she put her hands on his biceps, still leaning on him. He moved his hands to underneath her butt, and then picked her up. He moved her over to one of his side desks, and wiped everything off of it. Y/N separated from Peter to laugh, and let him set her down on the desk.
"I'd rather cuddle and make up sleep, but this is a close second." Y/N muttered as Peter kissed down her throat. He froze, looking up at her.
"Are you kidding me right now?" Peter asked, and Y/N smiled. They went back to kissing, and Y/N moved a hand to his chest, crossing her ankles around him. Her heart rate increased as Peter moved his lips to under her ear, then down her neck. Y/N sighed, smiling as she held onto Peter's bicep tighter. Her eyes fluttered closed.
"Ow, ow, ow, OW, OW, Y/N!" Peter yelled, pushing her hands away from him. Y/N sat up straight and opened her eyes to see Peter checking his chest and bicep, where two hand shaped burn marks were simmering.
"Oh my God, Peter, I am so sorry." Y/N moved her legs up to her chest, hands clutched close. This had happened before, and Y/N felt terrible every time. She had a hard time controlling her powers when her heart rate escalated like this, when she wasn't focused.
"No, no, it's okay. I'm fine. Doesn't even hurt." Peter assured her, walking closer to her spot on the desk. He grabbed her forearms, prying them away from her body. He ran his hands up her arms, to her hands. He interlocked them, kissing the corner of her face.
"I don't want to hurt you." Y/N whispered, looking up at him. He moved one hand to her face, thumb swiping across her face.
"Did you know that I heal faster than anyone you know? It only hurts for a second." Peter told her, and Y/N looked at the mark on his bicep.
"My dad actually heals faster."
"Fine, I'm a close second." Y/N pointed at the marks as Peter spoke.
"It's still there." She remarked, and Peter rolled his eyes.
"Can you just stop?" Peter smiled, kissing her lips. She pulled back, smiles on both their faces. She loves how Peter made her feel secure, loved, like the most beautiful girl in the world.
"I love you." Y/N said, pushing his hair out of his face.
"I-"
"Open up!" Bruce yelled, banging on the door. Y/N and Peter shared a look, blinking at each other for a moment.
"Peter? I need to talk to you!" Bruce yelled, and Y/N didn't waste any time unhooking herself from Peter and hopping over the desk. Peter stared at her for a second, worried she'd hurt herself.
"Answer the door!" Y/N whisper-yelled, and Peter scrambled to the door.
"Mr. Banner, hey!" Peter said, looking at his girlfriend's father. He blinked at Peter, taking in Peter's sex/workout-hair, his shirtless body, and finally, the handprints burned into his skin.
"Why are you shirtless?" Was Bruce's first question, and then he shook his head. "Why are there handprints burned into your skin in the shape of my daughter's hands?" Bruce asked, and Peter blinked.
"We just came from a work out. We sparred a little bit, she burned me, it's fine." Peter covered, and Bruce nodded.
"Right, um, okay. I'll come back later. Maybe after you showered and put on clothes." Bruce turned, and Peter shut the door.
"I am very proud of that lie." Y/N popped out from behind the desk. Peter shook his head, smirking. He made his way to the desk, grabbing Y/N's hands and helping her out and then back on the desk.
"It isn't your lie to be proud of!" Peter hit her arm jokingly, walking to step in between her legs. Y/N wrapped her ankles around his waist.
"Would you like another burn mark?" Y/N asked, hand raised teasingly.
"I think I'm good with the two I didn't order." Peter looked back down at his chest and arm, the marks still red.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Y/N asked, finger tracing the hand print on his chest.
"Could you, I don't know, shut up and just kiss me?" Peter asked, putting a hand on her cheek. He grabbed her other hand, which had been on his chest still, moving his hand to hold her's.
"Could you, I don't know, stop asking stupid questions?" Y/N put her arms around his neck. Their lips connected, the two of them moving closer together.
"Hold on," Peter pulled himself away from her, hands skimming her hips. "Someone's coming and I didn't lock the door." He finished, and Y/N looked around. They were both half naked with no way of covering up, the contents of Peter's desk were on the floor, and the burn marks - despite Peter's attempt to calm Y/N's worries - showed now signs of healing.
"I love you." Y/N said, kissing Peter quickly. He looked at her, unsure of what her plan was as she walked to the door.
"Fine, Peter, but I won that damn - oh, my bad." Y/N yelled as she opened the door to see Steve standing with a broken drone.
"Oh, I'm sorry, am I interrupting something?" Steve asked, and Y/N turned to scowl at Peter, who was looking lost. Y/N wasn't sure if that was something he was putting on or if he was really lost. Y/N figured that if Steve noticed the hands on Peter (he most definitely would) and the items discarded on the floor, he would think there was a fight and he wouldn't even mention anything to Bruce and Natasha - and God forbid, Bucky. If the ex-russian spy spent more time around the kids, he would immediately know the two were together. Natasha is, without a doubt, a world-class spy, but she was the one that taught Y/N to lie. By doing this, Natasha had taught her niece how to lie to the world's best spy. Bucky probably knew all the tricks and the way around them in the way that Y/N didn't know how to fix yet.
"No, I was just leaving." Y/N spat, glaring at Peter. She pushed past Steve, who stared at Peter.
"That looks bad." Steve said simply, gesturing to Peter's chest.
"I deserved it."
~
Y/N was reading when she heard the knock on the window. She jumped up, locking the door before she went to open the window.
"What took you so long?" Y/N asked as she kissed Peter before he was even through the window.
"Tony needed me," Peter started, making his way through the window as best as he could as he kissed Y/N at the same time. "And then Clint needed help with his arrows." Peter moved his hands to her thighs to pick her up, which is something he enjoyed doing, due to his super strength. "And then your father wanted to-"
"Oh God, please don't talk about my father while we're making out." Y/N groaned, hands on his face. He smiled sheepishly, leaning in to kiss her again quickly.
"Sorry." He mumbled, and she giggled.
"What did Steve want?" Y/N asked, and Peter rolled his eyes, going back to kissing her.
"Something about his drone, I don't remember." Peter walked around, trying to find a solid wall or something to put her against, but instead he tripped over her bed, sending them both tumbling onto the bed.
"Ow, ow, Peter! Ow!" Y/N cried as Peter fell on top of her. He couldn't get his hands off her thighs quick enough, so his top half fell right on her.
"I'm sorry, baby, I'm so sorry." Peter said, hands moving by her head to hold himself up.
"It's fine. It's payback, I guess." Y/N giggled. She grabbed his shirt to push up, immediately looking at the faded marks.
"There's the healing factor." Y/N said, tracing the faint handprint.
"You've burned me so many times, Y/N, it's not a big deal." Peter told her, wiping the hair out of face.
"Y/N? Why is your door always locked?" Y/N's door handle jiggled as Natasha pounded on the door.
"Ugh!" Y/N groaned, and Peter dropped his head into her shoulder. "Damn Russian."
"Maybe," Peter kissed her neck, and she relaxed back into the bed. "If we're really quiet," Peter moved to her other shoulder, kissing that side too. "She won't notice we're here."
"I know you're in there!" Natasha screamed.
"I'm sleeping!" Y/N yelled back, trying to bite back the giggle forming as Peter began to kiss her neck.
"If you aren't at the door in thirty seconds I will bust it open!" Natasha yelled. She paused for a moment, and everything was silent. "We're dying our hair today." Natasha added sternly.
"Are you kidding me?" Y/N cried, and Peter pushed her hair out of her face.
"I'll see you tonight." Peter moved to slip back out the window. Y/N straightened her clothes and her hair before moving to the door, opening it.
"So, I was thinking, we should do something crazy this time." Natasha said, hair dye in hand.
"We always say that, and then we get all ready and then we think 'What would Bruce - my father - think?' And the answer is always that he'll kill us." Y/N went into her bathroom, Natasha not far away from her.
"I am not afraid of your father, Y/N."
"I am." Y/N began to look at the boxes. "Bleach, purple, green? Nat, what the hell?" Y/N asked letting Natasha start to set up the bleach.
"Right, so I was thinking I could go with a lighter red, and you could-"
"I'm thinking you go full blonde and I die my hair with red." Y/N picked up the red hair dye.
"I like the way you think."
~
"Hey, Y/N - Y/N?" Steve did a double take as he walked into the kitchen.
"Hey, Steve. Aunt Nat and I are making pasta for team dinner tonight." Y/N smiled, looking to Steve. Her hair moved, shoulder length and blood red.
"Right, and you guys did your hair." Steve stared.
"We did. We also made garlic bread." Natasha said, checking the oven.
"Holy hair." Bucky said as he walked in, also staring at the two girls. Sam walked in after, all three boys now stopped at the door.
"Are you just going to stare, or are you boys going to set the table?" Natasha asked, and the boys nodded and grumbled as they grabbed silverware, placemats, plates and glasses.
"I like the hair, girls." Wanda said as she walked into the room, taking a seat.
"Thank you." The two said in unison.
"Okay, the pasta is ready." Y/N said, turning off the burner. Nat ducked under her to take the garlic bread in the oven.
"Aren't we going to invite Tony and your father?" Steve asked, making Y/N and Natasha share a look.
"They probably wouldn't come anyway." Y/N supplied, moving the pasta to the big bowl sitting on the counter.
"Don't start without - what the fuck did you do?" Tony asked, stopping in the doorway.
"Move out of the - Y/N Banner, please tell me that is a wig." Bruce moved to see the two girls. They looked at each other, two very different expressions.
"It's a wig." Y/N said, wide eyed.
"You let her do this?" Bruce turned to Natasha, who was smiling.
"It was her idea." Nat put the bread on a wooden piece, and the two moved to the table.
"Dinner is served." Y/N smiled, despite her father still fuming.
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late, I," Peter trailed off, eyes locked on Y/N's new hair.
"Just in time, Peter." Y/N smiled, but Peter was still staring. It seemed he did not care that Y/N had just spoken to him, the words gone and floating away.
"I think you broke him." Tony remarked, and Peter finally responded.
"What's," He cleared his throat. "What's for dinner?" Peter was still looking at Y/N, at the way her hair made her eyes pop and left her collarbones on show. A necklace with a small diamond on it, one that Peter had gotten her. He thought he would be upset about the fact that she cut her hair to her shoulders, but he couldn't have been more happy about the haircut.
"Pasta." Y/N smiled, putting a serving spoon in the pasta. Everyone sat down except the youngest two. There were two seats next to each other, and the two sat down.
"Dig in." Y/N said with a smile. Bucky and Sam immediately started a fight about the garlic bread, while Tony dug into the pasta. The rest waited patiently.
"Are you gonna eat?" Peter asked, hand on Y/N's thigh. She had jeans on with a nice top, changed from the clothes she wore with Nat while they died their hair. Y/N turned to look at Peter, who had not taken his eyes off her.
"Chef always eats last." Y/N wanted to kiss him, but she knew that was a bad idea, as her father was sitting right across from them.
"Hey, kid, are you ever gonna actually look at the food to eat it?" Tony asked, and Peter finally looked at the food.
"You made this?" Peter asked as he served Y/N and then himself. She nodded, grabbing her fork.
"Are you alright, Peter?" Bruce looked at Peter concerned, and Y/N tried not to let her eyes widen.
"Maybe his brain can't handle the fact that-"
"This pasta is really good, thank you for making it." Peter cut Sam off, deciding not to look at Y/N. Everyone went back to eating, Y/N and Peter trying not to look at each other.
It was an awkward dinner for the two, but everyone else enjoyed the food the girls with freshly died hair had made.
~
"So, who's picking the movie tonight?" Tony asked as the Avengers cleaned the kitchen up. Y/N was told she couldn't help, so she sat on the counter as everyone else, besides Natasha, cleaned.
"Movie?" Peter asked, heart popping. He just wanted to sneak to Y/N's room and love on her because her hair - her hair! What possessed her to do that? It looked so good. Better than so good. It made Peter's brain stop working, his heart beating too fast, his body going numb. It felt like he had been stabbed - but in a good way.
"Is that a problem?" Natasha asked with a smirk, making Y/N want to smack Peter over the head. Could he be any more obvious?
"No, no, I-I just didn't know we-we were watching one t-tonight." Peter stumbled, and Y/N resisted the urge to face palm, because Natasha definitely was about to figure everything out, which would lead to everyone figuring out.
"You don't have to if you don't want to." Steve said, eyeing Peter. He was acting strange; he might as well have just said 'I'm dating Y/N, and her new hair is causing my brain to go haywire.'
"I-It's fine. I just didn't kn-know." Peter quickly went to the lounge.
"What a weird kid." Y/N said, rubbing her lips together.
"It seems like he kinda likes y-"
"Oh he does." Natasha cut Bruce off, and Y/N rubbed her hands against her jeans anxiously.
"That must be upsetting for him, then." Bruce said, and Y/N nodded. Her father obviously had no idea about their relationship, which wasn't the worst thing, but she wasn't ready to tell everyone yet and have them freak out.
"Must be." Y/N shrugged, deciding to hop off the counter. "I'm gonna go help Peter pick out a movie." Y/N left the room, the other superheroes finishing up.
"Strange kids." Bucky muttered under his breath.
"You're real sly, Peter." Y/N muttered, kneeling down next to him in front of the tv.
"You didn't tell me you were gonna fully redo your hair!" Peter defended, crossing his arms.
"Spur of the moment decision." Y/N supplied with a shrug, and Peter shook his head.
"I don't want to be here for a full movie." Peter whined, unfolding himself to lay back dramatically.
"We'll watch Dumbo, then. It's the shortest Disney movie." Y/N grabbed the remote and picked Dumbo, loading it up.
"What would I do without you?" Peter smiled up at her, admiring her new haircut. Y/N rolled her eyes.
"Keep it in your pants for another hour, Spider-Man." Y/N smirked.
~
After the movie, Peter followed Y/N to her room, not even caring to go to his room first. As soon as the door shut, Peter's lips were against her's, hands running through her hair.
"God, I didn't know you could get prettier, but then you did." He muttered against her lips. Y/N smiled, letting the blush creep onto her face.
"You made that very clear during dinner." Y/N said, and Peter went back to kissing her without a response. He took his shirt off quickly, and then the two fell onto the bed. Peter put a hand under her shirt as he removed his lips from her's, moving them down her neck.
"Hey, Y/N, you forgot - oh my God!" Tony yelled as he opened the door. Y/N pushed Peter away, and he fell off the bed.
"Tony, please, I-"
"FRIDAY, it's time for the 'No Grandchildren' protocol." Tony said, and Y/N almost shrieked out of mortification.
"Mr. Stark-"
"Does your father know?" Tony asked with a smirk, and Y/N shook her head, mouth open in shock.
"I knew it! Yes!" Natasha yelled from the hallway. Y/N jumped off the bed, pushing past Tony to get into the hallway.
"Knew what?" Steve asked as he walked out of his room.
"Y/N and Peter are dating!" Natasha announced, and Bucky walked out of his room.
"Was that not common knowledge?" He asked, looking at the growing group.
"You knew?" Wanda asked, joining the hallway party.
"I thought everyone knew!" Bucky defended.
"What the hell is going on?" Bruce asked, walking into the hallway as well.
"Your daughter is dating the spider." Sam said, and Y/N almost went for his throat until she realized what had just happened with her father.
"You're dating Peter?"
"You just walked out of Nat's room." Y/N accused, to which he went red.
"I'm the adult here, Y/N."
"I'm an adult too."
"Yes, but you're my daughter. I shouldn't find out you're dating Peter because Tony caught you together." Bruce defended, and Y/N sighed.
"You're right, and I'm sorry." Y/N said before taking a deep breath. "But I shouldn't find out you're with Natasha because you walked out of her room." Everyone's eyes went wide.
"Who I see isn't your business."
"I'm your daughter."
"Okay, everyone to their rooms." Tony said, and Y/N rolled her eyes as she walked back into her room. Peter began to follow her.
"Mr. Parker, you are not allowed access into Y/N's room without permission." FRIDAY said, and Y/N's eyes widened. As if tonight couldn't get any more mortifying.
"Own room, Parker!" Natasha yelled, and Y/N turned to scream into her pillow as everyone went back to their respective rooms.
A couple minutes later, there was banging on the window. Y/N looked up from her 'Pillow of Despair' to see Peter. She smiled, opening the window.
"Thank God you're here, I-"
"Mr. Parker, would you like me to ask a member of a team for permission to be alone in Ms. Banner's room?" FRIDAY asked, and Y/N groaned.
"No, I'm leaving." He mumbled. He stole a kiss from Y/N before he went back out the window.
"Snitch."

More Than Meets The Eye - Steve Rogers x reader
Tumblr media
a/n - hey lovely people!! this one is for @s1utforfictionalcharacters, who asked for a Steve x reader enemies to lovers a while ago. thank you so much for bearing with me and being patient, and i hope you enjoy!!<3
Summary: Between figuring out what was the Tesseract doing at a Hydra base and if it even is the Tesseract, you need to navigate your relationaship with one annoying, broody Captain. Honestly, you might prefer the Hydra thing.
this isn’t set in the mcu timeline, but takes inspiration from a few mcu movies. it’s not canon compliant and everyone’s alive:)
Word Count: 7k
Warnings: lowkey angst and some tension, maybe a curse word or two? tell me if i missed anything!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Rogers!" you heard Tony's voice over the comms, "Where the hell are you?"
"Babysitting," you heard Steve's irritated voice, not only over the comms but also behind you, right before you saw him dashing past you to punch the Hydra agent you were fighting square in the jaw.
"Well, get America's ass over here, now," Tony grunted, clearly mid-fight himself, "we need backup."
"Go!" you yelled at him, spinning to take out another agent that was coming up behind Steve, "I got this!"
"You sure?" he asked, his tone sarcastically degrading, jumping while kicking two agents simultaneously. Showoff.
"Yes," you resisted the urge to roll your eyes, "I can handle them, go help the others!"
"Alright," he grunted as he pushed off another agent before running back in the direction he came from, towards the rest of the team.
"Cap, you coming or what?" Natasha spoke on the comms, calmer than Tony, but it was obvious she's just as in need of backup as he was.
"Coming!" Steve replied, before it went relatively quiet.
You finished up disarming the rest of the agents in your wing of the building. No one was calling for you on the comms yet, so you decided to make another round in the perimeter, make sure you didn't miss anything.
God knows captain know-it-all is gonna be on your ass about it if that's the case. And honestly, you have more than enough of that as is.
As you were walking down the hallway, you noticed a strange, glowing light coming from under the doors. Upon finding it was unlocked, you opened it to reveal a room that was entirely filled with the same blueish light you had seen, and it was all coming from a desk in the middle of it.
Approaching slowly and letting your eyes time to adjust, you got closer and closer, realizing the shiny object was a peculiar blue cube. A cube you knew well, perhaps even too well.
"Guys, if you're done over there, you might wanna come to my wing. There's something you're gonna want to see."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay, we have to keep looking, maybe they left some blueprints or anything that can indicate how they were planning on using it," Steve commanded, "or already have."
"Wait," you said before everyone split up to follow his orders, "as important as the why they got it is, I think the first question we should be asking is how the hell they got it. I thought it was locked away in the Asgard safe?" you looked at Bruce, who out of all of you had the most contact with Thor.
"It was, the last time I checked," he frowned. "I'll see if I can contact Thor, see if he knows anything."
"You do that," Tony interjected, "the rest of you, follow Cap's order while he and I have a little chat. Shall we Rogers?" he pulled a frowning Steve aside, while you all split up to try and find any information you could salvage.
In your search, you ran into Natasha. As you were both scouring the same desk for clues, working together like a well-oiled machine, you asked, "what did Tony want from Cap?"
"Probably to ask him where the hell was he when we needed his backup," she said matter-of-factly. "Or, you know, where the heck he was. We all know Steve's proper like that," she smiled, and you let out a chuckle at her words.
"Well, that’s good," you remarked, "since he really should've been there for you guys. I don't know what was that all about," you scrunched up your nose. "Nothing here," you added, closing the drawer you were looking through.
"Yeah, here too," Natasha closed her own drawer, "let's go."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Later that day, you were all having dinner together as you went over some papers the others found at the Hydra base. Since you were already in the same place, you split the takeout, taking caution not to spill any of it.
"Cap," you asked, seeing the saltshaker was too far for you to reach, "Can you pass me th-" your words were abruptly cut by him planting it in your hand, going back to whatever it is he was reading.
"Thanks," you muttered, going back to your paperwork as well.
This might be the place to mention that pretty much ever since you joined the team, Steve exhibited a certain… coldness to you. Arrogance, indifference, call it what you want – from day one, Steve Rogers made sure you knew he was better than you.
And considering he was literally Captain America, it's not like you thought you were ever better than him in the first place.
You blended in with the rest of the team seamlessly, fighting and training among them. I mean sure, there were jokes about you being "the new kid", but it was just that – jokes. No one, or at least no one but Steve, seemed to view you as inferior.
You still fought well together, it was your job. Hell, he just passed you the salt before you even finished asking for it. Being attuned to each other's actions and attitude in that way made it all the more obvious how much he seemed to covet his leadership position, his place of dominance.
It got on your nerves. So. Much.
You see, if he were like that to everyone else on the team, so be it. But the absolute majority of it was directed towards you – the new girl. And it was clear that's all he ever saw you as. A girl.
Even that salt thing – he handed it over so impatiently, so suddenly, like one would handle an irritating child.
You had hoped he'd get over it at some point, but so far, that didn't seem to be the case. Well, you're not planning on going anywhere, so you'll both have to get over yourselves at some point.
"Hey!" Steve snapped his fingers in front of your eyes, shaking you from your reverie. "C'mon, listen up. Tony found something."
Oh well, that "some point" is probably not today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So, Hydra wanted to use this," Natasha gestured at the Tesseract, "To power up a weapon they've designed?"
"That's the gist of it," Tony confirmed. "But from the looks of it, this thing is a lot more powerful than it seems. They planned on powering up a whole armored aircraft, plus all of their rifles using this cube. If that's possible, and by the looks of it, it very well might be, it's a lot stronger than you'd think."
"Wait, what do you mean their rifles as well?" you asked, your brows furrowing, "like, split this thing into pieces?"
"No, it looks like they were planning to project its power somehow, like…" Tony trailed off, struggling to explain.
"Like… Bluetooth?" you suggested.
"Yeah," tony snickered, "pretty much."
"Okay, but they didn't do that yet, right? We stopped them?" you looked around to the rest of your teammates before looking back at Tony.
"Seems like we did," Steve answered instead. "Bruce, any update on how they managed to get it?"
"Didn't hear anything back yet," the man in question shook his head, "I'll try again."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Bruce ended up getting an answer from Thor, telling him to come to Asgard, you immediately volunteered to go with him. It was partially because you've never actually been there, and you were very curious as to why Thor would ask Bruce to come.
But also, you could use a break from a certain Captain.
You tried to ask Bucky and Sam what his deal with you was, several times, but they just shrugged and gave you vague, unhelpful answers. You even considered trying to convince Wanda to just tell you what he thinks about you, but you didn't want to give him the satisfaction of bothering you so much that you'd stoop that low.
So lately, you've been just trying to avoid him, which usually worked just fine, since it's not like he was that adamant about being around you either. That is, until you said you'd go with Bruce.
"No way," he immediately objected.
"Why?" you asked, "Bruce might need some backup, and I'd like to visit Asgard. Win-win."
"We need you here, going over the papers."
"C'mon Cap, I think we both know I do better out there in the field than I do with all the blueprints. Tony's way better with that, he's the only one who does it anyway."
"So what, you're just gonna go on a field trip?" he sneered.
"No, I'm going to look out for my friend and teammate." It took everything in you to keep your voice level.
"That's nice. Cause it would be a shame if Banner had to watch your back while you went on vacation."
You scoffed. "Where did you even get that idea? I said I was gonna give Banner backup. That's the first thing I said, cause that's the most important thing. End of story."
"Fine." Steve shrugged.
"Fine?"
"Yeah, if Banner's willing to take you with him, go."
"Good," you nodded.
"Great."
Somewhat awkwardly, you shuffled out of the room to tell Bruce to count you in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Natasha was the one to send both you and Bruce off to Asgard, the rest being otherwise occupied.
"Be safe," she told the both of you, holding each of your shoulders with one of her hands, before stepping away.
"We will," Bruce promised and you nodded, and just in time the Bifrost came down, taking the both of you where you needed to get.
Thor was the one to greet you, taking you both in for a warm hug before his face became serious.
"I didn't call you all the way here for nothing," he said, "come with me to the palace."
As you were on your way, he explained. "When you told me you encountered the Tesseract in Midgard, I immediately checked in our vault. Sure enough, there's still a Tesseract there."
"A Tesseract? I thought there was just the one," you frowned.
"We did too," Thor replied, "which is why I wanted you both to come see it for yourselves. Maybe you'd be able to point out some differences."
Getting to the palace, you wasted no time going down to the vault. And there it was – the Tesseract.
"How…" you trailed off. It looked completely identical to the one you had found on earth, the same blue tinted glint lighting up its surroundings.
"That's what I was hoping you might have an answer for," Thor sighed, his brows furrowing. "You said the one you encountered was previously in the possession of a group called… Chimera?"
"Hydra," Bruce corrected him. "And yes, we found it in one of their bases."
"Is it possible that the one we found was a fake?" you asked, lifting your eyes from the Tesseract. "Or maybe this one is the fake? Is there a way to know?"
"The only way to know is to try and use them," Bruce sighed, "but trying to wield the power of an infinity stone can be dangerous and destructive to the one who tries. It's something we should try and avoid."
"Okay," you thought, "can't we try and take this one to earth? See if maybe Tony could run some tests on them both, find us a lead as to which one's the real one?"
"That sounds like a good idea," Bruce agreed, "or at least the best one we've got. Can we take it?"
"Of course. I trust you to guard it," he looked at Bruce fondly.
"Thank you," Bruce's eyes and smile are sincere as he shakes Thor's hand.
You pick up the Tesseract tentatively, putting it in your bag and looking back up at Bruce, whose handshake with Thor was still lingering. You hated to interrupt, but you two needed to go back to earth to fill your friends in if you wanted to solve this mystery.
"Shall we?" you asked, somewhat softly.
"Yeah," Bruce shook his head slightly, "Let's go."
You trailed behind Bruce and Thor as you made your way back to the Bifrost, thinking it over.
If the Tesseract you found on earth was the fake, then why would Hydra have a fake? And if the one that was currently in your bag was the fake, then why would they just leave the real one lying around while the Avengers stormed their base? And at any case, how did they manage to make such an accurate replica?
"Thank you, Thor," you said sincerely once you reached the end of the Bifrost. "We're going to figure this out."
"I know you will," he said, and touched your shoulder affectionately.
You said your goodbyes, and then, you and Bruce started to make the journey home, until suddenly you felt a force push you out of the Bifrost, and before you knew it you landed on dirt, rolling a few times, Bruce landing a few feet away from you.
Hurriedly getting up, you helped Bruce to his feet as well, before the two of you looked around to find yourself in the middle of what seemed to be a desert, but it was like nothing you've seen before.
The sand was orange, red, much darker than it was in deserts you've been to. You and Bruce landed in some sort of valley, surrounded by large dunes of the dark sand, creating a perfect circle around you.
"Have any idea where we are?" you asked, trying to keep your cool, "Or how we got here?"
"I-"
His words were cut off by the sound of a gun cocking behind you. Instinctively, you crouched down and spun around, sending your leg out, taking the man down with a kick to his ankles.
But it wasn't enough. Before you could fully get back up, you and Bruce were already surrounded by agents, and the fight quickly escalated into a hand-to-hand one, having to take on multiple agents at a time. At some point, Bruce hulked out, but even then, you were still fighting them all simultaneously.
You barely managed to take in the glint of a knife from the corner of your eye before the felt the sharp sting of it on your ribs, your hand automatically going to hold the wound. The man started running in the other direction, which was when you realized you weren't the objective of this attack.
Your bag was.
"Bruce!" you yelled, trying to get his attention, as you started trying to run after the agent.
But before Bruce could even notice you, a deep rumble sounded through the air, the prominent crackling of thunder. You turned around just in time to see Thor coming down from the sky, Mjolnir clad tightly in his fist, sending bolts of lightning at your enemies.
You turned back and tried to keep running, but you couldn't do it fast enough, the wound in your ribcage still bleeding, and soon, the agent disappeared from sight.
You were panting when the battle died down, a mere few minutes after Thor's arrival. You didn't turn around, even as you sensed Bruce and Thor approaching you from behind.
"I lost it," you said, still unable to meet their eyes.
"They took it," Bruce said gently. "Now, let me take a look at that wound."
Well, you thought, that's not how Steve's going to see it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You lost it?" Steve asked, his disbelief clear. His eyes were trained on you, a frown on his face.
"She got hurt trying to protect it, Steve," Bruce answered before you could. "We'll get it back."
Steve's eyes didn't waver from yours, even as Bruce spoke.
"I'm sorry," you said, your voice coming out smaller than you wanted to. You cleared your throat, continuing stronger, "I did everything I could."
"I told you, you shouldn't have gone out there," he sighed, frustrated.
"Really, Cap?" you asked, "is this the time for 'I told you so's? for a hundred-year-old that's really fucking childish," you said through your teeth.
"Watch it," he snapped, "next time, maybe if you listen to me you won't get hurt."
"If I'm that bad of a soldier, Captain," you spat out, "am I not dispensable to you? Why do you even care if I get hurt? I bet it would've been just the same to you if I died but you still had the Tesseract."
Your words rendered him speechless, and you turned to walk towards the med bay. Bruce offered you his arm, but the look you sent him made it very obvious you weren't interested in company.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The wound healed well. You and Steve were… civil, to say the best.
You'd admit your words that day you were back from Asgard were harsh. You'd even admit that to his face, if he'd change his attitude towards you. Which he didn't, so really, maybe he deserved to hear them.
Anyways, a few days after the Asgard thing, the wound was fine, and you had an idea.
"Hey," you asked Tony, who happened to be next to you at the moment, "what if we go ask Strange?"
"What?" he looked up from the robot he was currently tinkering with.
"What if we went to Strange to ask him about the Tesseract?" you repeated, "he'd probably know more than us about this stuff."
Tony wasted no time in calling a team meeting, in which you told the others your idea about reaching out to Strange.
"That's a really good idea," Steve said.
Taken aback, you opened your mouth to speak, but before you could, he continued, "I'm coming with you."
Yep, it was way too good to be true.
"Why?" you asked, frowning. "I thought Tony would come, since he's already had a run-in with him before."
"Yes, but I think we can agree he's not the most diplomatic person out there," Steve smirked.
"I'm right here," Tony remarked dryly.
Steve paid him no mind and continued, "And besides, he's pretty much the only one except Bruce that knows enough to figure out Hydra's blueprints, and we still need all hands on deck in that front.  So, I'm coming with you," he finished in a tone that left no room for argument.
You considered objecting anyways, but knew whatever you'd say would sound childish and tactless, so you simply nodded at him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since the Sanctum Dr. Strange usually resided in was in New York, there was no need for Steve and you to take the Quinjet, but you did take a car from Tony's collection, which Steve drove. The car ride was filled with quite the uncomfortable silence, but at least it was better than arguing, right?
Small victories.
When Steve parked the car about a block away from the Sanctum, you both got out swiftly, blending right in with your civilian clothes, and making your way to the doorstep.
There, Steve knocked on the door hesitantly. You both listened, but there was no answer. You held onto the handle and managed to open the unlocked door easily. You exchanged a look with Steve, both of you on high alert, and entered through the door, Steve closing it behind you.
You both silently stood in the threshold, contemplating your next move. Eventually, you took a tentative step forward, and just then a red object whipped right in front of your eyes, making you stumble backwards, right into Steve. You quickly turned around to apologize, but before you noticed it the red fabric was wrapped tightly around your arms, holding them tight against your torso. Steve was in a similar predicament, and since the cape wasn’t that long, you two were left tied face to face and extremely close to each other.
You tried to wiggle out of the fabric's hold, but it was almost like it tightened with your every move, adjusting itself accordingly. You struggled against it, trying to move even the slightest bit, but it wouldn't budge. You sighed, looking up at Steve.
Oh my god, he was way closer than you'd realized. His wide frame towering over you, you swallowed dryly before you whispered, "What now?"
Before he could answer, the sound of footsteps carried through the halls, and soon enough, Dr. Stephen Strange was descending down the stairs of the New York Sanctum to greet you.
"Hello," he said, his face indifferent, "I wasn't expecting you."
"Well, we weren't expected to get so… tied up, so that makes three of us," Steve remarked, prompting you to chuckle.
"Hello, Dr. Strange," you introduced yourself to him, "the Captain and I were wondering if you could help us with some… Tesseract trouble."
"Sounds awful," he smirked slightly. "Follow me," he started going up the stairs again and you exchanged a look with Steve. "Oh right," he gestured with his hand, and the red fabric detangled itself from the two of you, and turned out to be a cloak as it wrapped around Strange's shoulders. "I almost forgot," the man chuckled, "Now come on."
You and Steve exchanged another look as you rubbed your arm where the cloak dug into it a little, before following Strange up the stairs and into the library, where he offered you two chairs to sit in before sitting down in front of you. In the air. He was sitting down while floating.
Still less weird than the cloak, in your opinion.
"So," he started, "what, uh, Tesseract trouble are you having, exactly?"
Steve and you took turns explaining the situation to him, from finding a Tesseract in a Hydra base to losing the one that was previously in Asgard. Steve, to your relief and wonder, said nothing about it being your fault, but just said it wasn't in your possession anymore.
"So," you summed up, "we were wondering if you knew how anyone could manage to replicate the Tesseract this well, and how can we tell which one's the fake one. Without using them, of course."
"Well, those are great questions. I don't know of another way to determine if an infinity stone is indeed real besides taking the risk and trying to use it, so I can't help you with that. But as for the fake, I believe opening the Tesseracts will provide a good enough answer. You see, the Tesseract isn't that hard to fake. Might be a little expensive, sure, but some lights and plastic and you're set, and from what I understand Hydra isn't exactly struggling financially. But," he sighed, "you can’t fake an infinity stone. For most people, once you'll come in direct contact with it, you'll feel its power, and also its destructive properties."
"So the only way to know if an infinity stone is real is to risk touching it?" Steve asked.
"As far as I know of, yes," Strange nodded.
"Thank you," you said, "for your help. We sure get back to the compound, but we'll let you know if there are any big developments."
When Steve and you got back to the compound, everyone was already waiting for you, and you told them what Strange told you. Together, you all went to open the tesseract you had found in the Hydra base.
"Be careful not to touch what's inside," you warned, and Tony put of his Iron Man arm before breaking the side of the glowing cube, opening it to find…
A bunch of wires and lightbulbs. They didn't even try to make it look like an infinity stone.
"Well, the one in Asgard could've also been a fake," Natasha shrugged. "This doesn't really tell us anything. C'mon guys, we'll continue the search tomorrow," she touched your shoulder comfortingly before slipping away.
You were about to do the same when you saw Steve fidgeting with his sleeve, around where the cloak was wrapped around him. You walked up to him.
"You okay?" you asked, expecting him to brush you off.
"Yeah, I just think this cape held on a little too strong," he chuckled, removing his hand to reveal a stain on the fabric of his right suit sleeve, on you knew all too well was blood.
"Oh my god," you frowned. "C'mon, I'll help you clean it up," you gestured towards the med bay.
The walk there was brief and silent, and when you got there, you told Steve to sit down before ripping his sleeve enough to see the shallow wound.
"You don't have to do this," Steve said, as you looked for some gauze pad and wet it with water.
"I know," you said, "but since I'm the reason we needed to go there in the first place, I am doing this."
"You know it's not your fault, right? You couldn’t have known he'd have a magical cape that ties up people."
"That's not what I was talking about," you mumbled, before cleaning the wound gently.
Steve sighed. "I guess I do owe you an apology for the Asgard thing. I acted like a jerk. I'm sorry."
"No, you were right," you chuckled bitterly, "it's my fault we lost what might've been the real space stone to Hydra. You were just the only one willing to admit that."
"Well, I hope you know what you said about me then wasn't true. I care. You know, if you get hurt. And I wouldn't want anyone to die so I can have anything."
"I know," you said dryly, "you're too perfect for that."
You finished cleaning the wound and started bandaging it.
"That's not- god, I really do have a way with words, don't I? you probably hate me by now."
"I don't hate you, Steve," you looked up from his arm to his eyes, and he smiled at you. "Relax, it doesn't mean I like you all that much either," you smirked, prompting him to laugh.
"Yeah, that's fair, I guess. Thank you," he gestured to his now bandaged arm.
"Sure," you sent a small smile his way before walking away.
Maybe Steve Rogers wasn't that bad after all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, scratch that, Steve Rogers was the worst.
The conversation actually started out civil. Nice, even.
"Hey, Cap," you started, "do you know if Bruce found anything on the wiring in the fake Tesseract yet?"
"Nope," he turned to face you.
"Oh. Well, thanks," you smiled, "I'll just…" you gestured at the exit, but he stopped you.
"Wait. Actually, I wanted to talk to you. Can you…" he gestured at the empty chair in front of him, and you sat down.
"About the whole Tesseract thing," he started, "I think you should consider sitting this one out."
"What?" you frowned.
"I just…" he sighed, "I think it might be better if you sat this one out."
"Steve, I found the Tesseract in the first place," you said, getting angrier by the second, "I'm not backing down from this."
"You found the fake Tesseract," he corrected, "and lost what might have been the real one."
"I thought you said it wasn't on me."
"It's not, but still."
"I don't get it, a few days ago you were telling me it wasn't my fault and now you're benching me because of it?"
"I just… you're clearly very invested in this-"
"Which is why I deserve to stay on this mission," you cut him off, fighting to keep your voice level.
"Which is why I think you should sit it out," he ignored you, "because you don't need to get yourself hurt for this."
"I'm an Avenger just like you," you snapped, "you might get hurt as well. So might everyone else. I don't get why I'm any different."
"I told you, because you're too emotionally invested," he insisted, his tone rising.
"Oh, you're benching me cause I'm 'emotional'? really? That's your excuse?"
"That's not an excuse, I-"
"No, tell me, Steve, what's your problem with me? Just spit it out, clearly you have one. What have I done to you to make you hate me?" you were yelling now, exasperated at his flawed logic.
"I don't hate you."
"That's all you have to say?" you scoffed. "You know what? If you're letting whatever your problem is with me to get in the way of the mission, maybe you're the emotional one."
The charged atmosphere was interrupted by Natasha's frame showing up in the doorway.
"Hey guys," she started, before looking between the two of you. "Is this a bad time?" she waited a second before shrugging, "Doesn't matter. There are sightings of suspicious activity midtown, we think it can be Hydra. We gotta move, be down in five," she stated, before walking down the hallway, leaving Steve and you alone once more.
"I-" he started.
"Let's go," you said at the same time, before simply turning away to go and suit up. You had a battle to win, no matter what he thought.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So," Tony started once you were all on the Quinjet, "Here's what we know – Hydra is probably in the possession of the real Tesseract, since we just got word of people seeing a big aircraft over midtown. My guess, they wanted to test the new weapons out before using them on a larger scale," he said, "which is why it would be the best thing to stop them now."
You split up into groups, Tony, Wanda and Sam going after the aircraft, Bucky and Steve go one way on the ground, you and Natasha the other. Thanking every god you knew you weren't paired up with Steve, you and Natasha ran and turned into a large square, starting to point people away from the steady stream of Hydra agents that was coming your way.
You and Natasha were both fighting off the agents together, most of the civilians already cleared from the area, when suddenly, they just… stopped, all in unison.
"Avengers," a voice with a heavy accent boomed through the air, presumably from the aircraft, magnified by speakers, "I know what you're here for," the voice chuckled. "Come and get it."
All at once, the Hydra agents in front of you pulled out something from their bags, or the pockets of their jackets, and it took you a second to realize what it is – exact replicas of the Tesseract. Dozens of them, maybe even hundreds.
You looked over at Natasha, who was just as exasperated as you were. "We gotta break these things," she said, and you nodded in understanding, charging at the men and women with renewed energy.
Because this was your chance to fix what you broke, to make things right. To show Steve you're better than your mistakes.
That was the mantra that was going in your head, as you smashed Tesseract after Tesseract, even as you found nothing but wires, you kept repeating it – fix what you broke.
Slowly but surely, you and Natasha tackled and defeated more and more agents, moving closer towards where they were coming from – the aircraft, that was lowering more and more, sending out more agents, in a wave that seemed never ending.
Expect when you got closer, you noticed that there was a staircase going down from it. A staircase that at the top of stood a small an in old fashioned army clothes, holding, how not, a small, glowing cube in his hand.
Your vision zeroed in on him. You had a target.
Barely stopping to disarm the other agents, you quickly made your way through the crowd of agents surrounding you, until you were right at the bottom of the staircase. You looked up to see the man still standing on top, smiling at the chaos unraveling at his feet.
You decided to take advantage of the fact he hasn't seen you yet, and climbed the staircase from the bottom side, hanging on to creases and bumps, to keep the advantage. When you got to the top, you tried to swing yourself over the rails. You would've fallen down if a hand wouldn't have reached out, catching your arm and throwing you back on the staircase, right side up.
"Ah, the new kid," the man snickered above you, "I've heard about you. Were you really the one they sent here?"
"No one sent me," you hissed as you got up. "Now hand over the stone and it'll be much more pleasant for you."
"So much spite," he laughed, "but alas, I don't think I will, sweetheart."
"Whatever you say," you delivered a poignant kick to his knee, "sweetheart."
You tried to punch him, but this time he was quicker, avoiding your blow and landing one of his own on your shoulder. You shrugged it off and continued to try and pry the stone from his hands. The struggle was drawing attention, and Natasha yelled at you to watch out just in time before a Hydra agent from down there shot at you, only missing narrowly.
You continued to fight the man, who was stronger than he let on, considering he was fending you off with only one hand, but you also had getting shot to worry about, which was in his favor.
At last, you managed to knock the Tesseract out of his hand, and it fell to the ground in a shattering sound. Out of the broken pieces, there were no wires to be seen, only a stone.
Bingo.
You heard Steve shout something at you from far down, but you weren't paying attention, instead diving for the stone, grasping it in your hand, along with some shards of glass that cut you, but you couldn't care less, because this was it.
Fix what you broke.
You concentrated with all your might of the stone, its power almost physically throbbing in your hand, along with the excruciating pain, but you didn't care.
Fix what you broke.
Your breathing became labored, the pain near insufferable when you finally did it – opened a portal. You didn't know where it led, but the important thing is, it wasn't here. You threw the stone away with all the power you had left in you, praying it would reach so far you'd never see it again.
Fix. What. You. Broke.
Just in time, the portal closed, and you sighed gratefully. The pain was starting to take over now, your mind dancing on the edge of consciousness when you heard voices coming towards you. You wanted to tell them you were fine, but you found yourself falling to the ground, registering the pain of the fall before everything went black.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you woke up, your first thought was that the light's too bright. It felt almost like a hangover, but way worse, and
"I didn't even drink anything," you said, before breaking into a dry cough.
In a second, Steve was there by your side with a glass of water, holding it to your mouth. You took some small sips until you calmed down enough to remember that while no, you didn't drink anything, you did wield the power of an infinity stone, which means it's a miracle you're even alive.
So really, you should be thankful all you ended up with is an awful hangover. Of sorts. A magical hangover.
"Are you okay?" Steve asked, breaking you from your reverie, and making you meet his gaze with yours.
"As much as I can be," you replied, your gaze falling to the blanket that was laid on you. "how long was I out?"
"About 18 hours," he said solemnly, "we didn't… we weren't sure if you'd wake up," he admitted, his voice dropping below a whisper by the end.
"Can't get rid of me that easily," you joked. Despite everything Steve put you through, for some reason you couldn't stand to see him this devastated.
"No, don't-" he sighed, "no one wants to get rid of you. Least of all me. Hell, thinking I'd lost you and it was my fault… hurt more than I could imagine."
"It wouldn't have been your fault, if I, you know," you shrugged, "that was my choice. I had to fix what I broke."
"No, you didn't," he insisted, his eyes snapping up to meet yours once more, "because you didn't break anything. None of this was your fault, and yet you fixed it, alone. You risked wielding the power of an infinity stone to keep earth safe, alone. You shouldn't have been alone."
"It worked out just fine. Besides, what difference would it have made, one more injured person?"
"If I was quick enough… I don't believe the stone could've taken both of us down."
"Us?" you smirked, "I didn't know we were an 'us'. But it's fine, I can deal with that, I guess," you shrugged, and Steve chuckled. You couldn't tell if you were imagining it, but it looked like the slightest of blushes was sprinkled on his cheeks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a part of getting you back to normal, you started training again, moderately at first. But as you regained your strength, your training was almost as intense as it was before. Or maybe, even more intense.
You see, before that, you weren't training with Steve.
Since you didn't really get off to a good start, you'd always train with the others – Nat, Wanda, Sam… other non-super-soldier humans with a very human self-discipline, meaning that you could take breaks and chat in between reps.
Alas, those days were far behind you. I mean, not that far, that's just kind of dramatic, but you get it; you trained with Steve way more often and it was a nightmare.
You didn't know what standards Steve held for his other friends, but if he's like that with everyone then maybe it was better off not being his friend.
"What was that?" Steve asked, his eyes not moving from the timer, which looked comically small in his large hands.
"I said," you repeated between labored breaths and fast push-ups, "if you're like this with all your friends maybe I was better off not being one."
"Who said you are?" he shot back with a smirk, "and… time!"
You collapsed on the training room mattress, letting out a deep breath. "how much was that?"
"98 pushups in one minute," he stated, "not bad."
"Okay, Mr. captain super soldier," you breathed. "You know, maybe I should go back to doing these with Sam. A human being with normal people achievements," you sighed, faux-dreamily.
"I thought you wanted to get better?" Steve chuckled, extending his hand out to help you off the mattress.
"I'll tell him you said that," you smirked and took his hand, letting him help you up. Your touch lingered for the briefest of moments before you let go of his hand.
"Be my guest," Steve shot back, before taking a couple of sparring staffs off the wall, handing you one. An unusual technique in battle, but you found that practicing them with Steve provided a decent challenge to you both, since you were better with it than he was.
With both of you getting into a fighting stance, you started the match by dashing forward, trying to land one on his shoulder, but he quickly spun to the side, accompanied by a move of his staff that, fortunately for you, was a bit poorly aimed, thus only hit you in the arm.
You continued this back and forth for the next few minutes, one graceful move answered by a steady block from the other side, almost like a delicate dance. After a while, you felt yourself getting a little tired, and knew if you didn't end it now, he'd win.
And well, you just can't give him that kind of satisfaction.
You quickly planted your staff on the ground, using the momentum to jump up and wrap your legs around his neck, using your weight to push him down onto the mattress. You'll have to thank Natasha for that move.
His staff fell from his hand as he hit the floor, and you used your advantage to pin his arms above his head, making sure to lean enough of your weight on his torso so he couldn't move. You were both panting from the exertion of the fight, and you could feel a bead of sweat traveling down your back.
He smirked up at you. "Did Nat teach you that one?"
"Maybe," you raised your eyebrow in amusement. "But I executed it to perfection."
"You sure?" he asked, and before you could answer he broke free from your grasp, flipping the both of you so your torso was pinned below him, catching your arms the same way you did to him moments ago.
Breathing heavily, your tongue darted out to wet your lips. "Well, maybe not perfection," you murmured, "but I'd say I did pretty well. You're in nice shape for a hundred-year-old," you slowly grinned up at him.
"Just nice?" he mock pouted, not moving from his position above you.
"Yeah," you smirked, "from what I've seen."
"Well, maybe you've seen nothing yet," he suggested with a quirk of his eyebrow, his head lowering even closer to yours.
"Maybe," you said softly, standing your ground. His eyes were boring into yours, you could hear the shallow sound of his breath, feel it even.
Closing the distance between you was almost more impulse than an actual aware decision. Your lips met his soft ones, his momentum pushing you back against the mattress, your head hitting it with a soft thud you paid no mind to. One of his hands left yours, coming to cup your cheek as his tongue hesitantly entered your mouth, continuing eagerly when you let out a hum of approval, one of your hand sneaking around his neck and tangling in the hair on the nape of his neck, pulling slightly.
When you finally parted, your breaths were once again labored, but for an entirely different reason now.
"Okay, maybe you are in good shape," you rasped, shrugging as well as you could.
He chuckled before his eyes met yours. "You don't hate me," he stated incredulously.
"I already told you I didn't. I take it back, maybe old age is getting to you," you giggled.
He groaned lightly, making your laughter grow stronger.
Okay, so Steve Rogers wasn't the worst. Final verdict.
Loki x Reader - Glorious Purpose - Words: 2,578
Based on this prompt:
Enemies-to-lovers, but instead of featuring a villain redemption arc, the heroic one is getting progressively more corrupt, unhinged and fucked up, and the one who was originally the clear-cut villain out of the two is just like "well mark me down as scared and horny"
You were a somewhat independent agent, but officially you worked with SHIELD. Fury had recruited you although you had yet to move back to New York to be closer to everything. At the moment, you were enjoying an extended stay in Europe. It had started with a small mission and you decided to vacation for a while, take a well deserved break.
"Champagne?" A waiter asked you. You nodded, taking a glass from his tray before he continued on. You'd managed to get yourself an invitation to a gala in Stuttgart and you weren't one to pass up free food and wine so you went. Your gaze floated across the room and you resisted the urge to roll your eyes. Everyone here had the same look: stuffy, stuck up, money coming out their-
"Pardon me," A man said. He walked up behind you, bumping into you accidentally.
"It's fine," You said automatically. Looking up at him, your eyes widened slightly. Now he was handsome. He smirked at you and you opened your mouth to say something but he turned away. Unfortunately, just as quickly as you had seen him and he had already gone. You wandered around for a few more minutes before the guest speaker walked out. You worked your way to the front of the crowd to listen to him. Even with your heels though you weren't tall enough to see over everyone. Suddenly you looked up, seeing movement on the stairs. For a moment you thought you'd see the man from earlier walking down. "Is he another guest speaker?" You wondered. Before you could get any closer to get a better view, you heard screaming. And then everyone started running. You finally elbowed your way to the front and saw the mysterious man walking away from the guest speaker who was now lying unconscious across the big fancy table. You ignored the speaker and chased after the dark-haired stranger. He had a dark smirk painted across his lips. Just before he walked outside, there was a bright glimmer around him and his sharp suit transformed into golden and leather armor. "A bit much," You thought with a silent chuckle. To get a better view, you transported yourself next to a small souvenir booth, watching as he approached the terrified crowd. Duplicates of his suddenly appeared around the edge of the crowd, including one only a few yards away from you.
"I said, KNEEL!" He yelled, slamming his scepter on the ground. The crowd immediately followed his orders. Your phone in your pocket buzzed and you discreetly checked it.
Are you still in Germany? - Fury
LOL I'm assuming you're heading my way. You should see this guy! 👑 - Y/N
Wait for the team, Y/N - Fury
…or what? 🙄😏 - Y/N
You pocketed your phone and walked out, skirting the crowd and making your way to the mystery man. The real one you assumed.
"Is not this simpler?" He started. "Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity, that you crave subjugation." He spoke eloquently, not surprising you all that much considering his attire. Although his phrasing confused you slightly. It was as though he wasn't speaking to fellow humans. You supposed most men who considered themselves superior often did so though. "The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel."
"Not to men like you," You spoke up, having snuck up beside him. He smirked, walking towards you and towering over you.
"There are no men like me," He gloated. He reached out to grab you but you ducked and ran behind him. Whipping around he held his scepter out, pointing at you. "Let her be an example to you!" He yelled to the crowd. As he shot, the Captain dropped in. He stood in front of you and blocked the blast with his shield.
"I didn't need that, Steve," You hissed.
"Just shut up and help me," He replied. You rolled your eyes and teleported to a more strategic location before Mr. Gold and Leather noticed.
"You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing," Steve said. You rolled your eyes.
"We get it, Steve, you're old!" You yelled. Sometimes Steve got on your nerves. The man turned to you but Natasha quickly distracted him. She was flying the quinjet above, aiming a machine gun at him. They continued fighting and you watched the movements of the stranger, looking for a weak spot.
Suddenly you hear loud rock music blasting over the PA. Just before Iron Man swoops in, the music preceding his actual appearance, you see your chance. "Over here, pretty boy," You call out, your smirk almost matching his. As he approaches you, you whip out one of your knives from your thigh holster, twirling it in your hand.
"Oo, feisty," He grins. He points his scepter at you, about to touch your chest with it, when you teleport behind him. In the split second of his confusion, you jump up, grabbing the horns of his helmet, and kick him in the back of his knees. He falls back and you duck out of the way, letting him land hard on his back on the ground. He lets out a huff as the wind gets knocked out of him and you quickly stand over him, planting a foot on his chest. You know he could throw you off easily but you're holding a knife to his throat as well so you take your chances.
"Your turn," You say. He holds his hands up, his armor glimmering once again before revealing a much simpler outfit. You shook your head, still confused as to where he was from. This clothing was obviously not bought at the local department store. Once the team had restrained him and loaded him into quinjet, you wandered over to him, watching him closely. Cap and Stark were passive aggressively talking off to the side, as if the stranger couldn't hear them. You shook your head and walked over, taking a seat next to him. "Hi," You said with a small smile. "What's your name?" He raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"You do not know who I am?" He asked. You shook your head and chuckled.
"You're a well dressed man who apparently wants to take over the world. That's about all I know. Fury never tells me anything so I'm flying blind here."
"I am Loki of Asgard," He grinned. He was about to launch into his "Glorious purpose" speech, when thunder and lightning rattled loudly outside. Loki got a frightened look on his face, trying to look outside from his seat.
"Are you ok?" You asked. Loki's head whipped back to you, eyes staring into yours.
"I-no," He admitted, something in his eyes .
"What's the matter? Scared of a little lightning?" Cap asked Loki.
"I'm not overly fond of what follows," He said. As he spoke you finally figured it out.
"Your brother is Thor!" You exclaimed.
"Unfortunately," He replied as the God of Thunder himself landed on the roof of the plane. When Stark opened the back hatch and Thor landed inside, you frowned, nose scrunching in disgust.
"Oh my gosh what a himbo," You mumbled. Loki stared at you for a moment, eyebrows raised in surprise, and opened his mouth to say something but was swiftly yanked out of his seat by his brother.
You didn't see Loki again until the Helicarrier. Up until that day you'd never doubted Fury even though you didn't like working with others, but suddenly you weren't sure who to trust. Stark and Banner thought Fury was up to no good with the Tesseract and, while Steve didn't want to agree with them, he just confirmed their theory. You just helped him break into the storage room and we're staring at each other in shock.
"Weapons. Fury is making weapons. That lying-"
"Ok," You sighed, interrupting the Captain's exclamation. "Get this back to Tony. I'm going to check on something else. Meet back at the lab?" Steve nodded and headed out with the gun.
You stealthily made your way to Loki's cell. While you were mildly terrified, you needed to talk to him. When you walked in the room, you saw Natasha already there.
"There's not many people that can sneak up on me," Loki said, smirking as he turned to face her.
"But you figured I'd come."
"After. After whatever tortures Fury can concoct, you would appear as a friend, as a balm. And I would cooperate."
You listened as they talked, hiding in an unseen corner of the room. "I've got red in my ledger, I'd like to wipe it out," Natasha said.
"Can you? Can you wipe out that much red? Drakov's daughter? Sao Paulo? The hospital fire? Barton told me everything. Your ledger is dripping, it's gushing red, and you think saving a man no more virtuous than yourself will change anything?" At this point Loki had stood from his seat across the cell and was slowly making his way, stalking, towards her. "This is the basest sentimentality. This is a child at prayer, pathetic! You lie and kill in the service of liars and killers.You pretend to be separate, to have your own code, something that makes up for the horrors. But they are a part of you, and they will never go away!" Finally he slammed his fist against the glass, startling both you and Natasha. "I won't touch Barton. Not until I make him kill you! Slowly. Intimately. In every way he knows you fear! And when he'll wake just long enough to see his good work, and when he screams, I'll split his skull! This is my bargain, you mewling quim!"
Natasha had backed away, shaking, eyes wide in terror. "You're a monster," She gasped.
"No," Loki chuckled darkly. "You brought the monster."
"So, Banner. That's your play," Natasha said, suddenly not crying or seemingly emotional at all. Loki was shocked. Natasha hurried out of the room, thanking Loki and talking hurriedly on her ear piece.
You quickly slipped out of your hiding place and hurried over to the cell. "What are you doing here?" Loki sneered.
"I have some questions," You said. He rolled his eyes and huffed. "Personal ones. This is for my own agenda."
"Fine, one question," He relented, smirking slightly. Loki fully expected you to still be trying to gather information from him.
"Look, I listened to your little speech there. I don't completely agree with you but you have a point. In some respects we're no better off than you," You said. Loki raised an eyebrow curiously, watching as you stood right against the glass, staring up at him confidently. "If I were to help you, what would be in it for me? I want an honest answer or at least a believable lie. Don't give me a "glorious purpose, bright lure of freedom" speech. Tell me something I can believe. What would you do if I helped you?"
"I can't promise you anything except your life. I promise I won't kill you. Now, if you're stupid enough get yourself killed-"
"I get it," You chuckled. Nodding you smiled at him. "I'll let you know." With that you left, leaving the God of Mischief to his thoughts.
When you rejoined the rest of the team in the Lab they were, unsurprisingly, arguing again. "I'm sorry, what were you lying?" Tony said, showing Fury the files he'd just hacked. Steve was standing next to the weapon, Fury was yelling, everyone was pointing fingers. You shook your head but saw your opportunity. In the commotion, no one was paying any attention to the scepter. You bit your lip nervously. You had to make a decision.
The entire Helicarrier was in chaos. It was nearly impossible to make your way to Loki's cell without being seen but you eventually made it. With so many agents running around you didn't want to risk teleporting and find yourself at the wrong end of their guns.
When you finally reached the cell you saw the door open and Loki standing in it. "No!" Thor yelled, running at him. You almost cried out to stop Thor but then you noticed movement from the other side of the glass cage. As Thor tumbled through Loki's illusion you grinned.
"Are you ever not going to fall for that?" Loki asked Thor, locking him in the cell. Thor roars and slams Mjolnir on the glass which cracks under the impact. Both you and Loki are surprised, having thought the cell was indestructible. Loki walks over to the control panel slowly. "The humans think us immortal. Should we test that?" Before he can press the button, Agent Coulson shows up with one of the weapons you'd seen in storage.
"Move away, please," He says. "You like this? We started working on the prototype after you sent the Destroyer. Even I don't know what it does. Do you wanna find out?"
As Phil was speaking you snuck up behind him. And just before he shot Loki you shoved the scepter into his back, stabbing him through. Pulling it back out you dropped him to the ground and grinned at Loki. 'Pity,' You thought. 'Phil always seemed to be such a nice guy.'
"Why did you do that?" Loki asked, staring at you in surprise. There was an odd look of terror and excitement on his face. "I didn't promise you anything."
"Yes you did," You said, walking up to him and handing him the scepter. "You promised me loyalty." The facade cracked for a moment, a soft smile slipping through. "And you're pretty."
"I like you!" Loki laughed, grabbing your waist and pulling you against him. "Shall we?" He asks, gesturing to the red button.
"Of course," You reply. Your hand hovers over it and you glance back at Thor who is in disbelief. "It's nothing personal, Thor," You say. "Or, actually," You look back at Loki and smile. "It definitely is." You press the button and air whooshes around you as it falls to the earth below.
"You're gonna lose," Coulson says weakly.
"Am I?" Loki asks, turning to look at him.
"It's in your nature."
"Your heroes are scattered, your floating fortress falls from the sky. Where is my disadvantage?"
"You lack conviction," Phil replies.
"Not anymore," Loki sneers at him, holding you even tighter.
"So what are you gonna do about it?" You taunt. Suddenly you're both blasted out of the aircraft.
"So that's what it does."
You scream, closing your eyes and clinging to Loki as you both fall. "Calm down," Loki yells. Suddenly there's hard ground below you. As you open your eyes and reorient yourself you see it's actually hardwood.
"Where are we?" You ask.
"Stark Tower." Standing up you see the city skyline before you just outside the window. "It's about to begin," He says. "Are you still with me?"
"Yes," You reply immediately, taking his hand. He tilts your chin up and kisses you softly in contrast to his overall demeanor.
"We shall rule together then, my queen," He promises. You nod and kiss him again before you walk out to the balcony to wait for the inevitable arrival of the Avengers.
"Together."
In Another Universe (Marcus Moreno x Fem!Reader)
Tumblr media
In an instant, the world you once knew was gone.
The last thing you remembered was the sensation of fear. But it was ethereal, painless compared to anything you’d ever experienced before. Fighting with Nat was worse than the affects of Thanos’ snap, well, for you anyway.
It wasn’t until you woke up in a world that felt so incredibly familiar yet so incredibly foreign at the same time that you realized what ever event the snap set off, it wasn’t one that brought peace to anyone.
“Y/n! Come play with us!”
The moment of relapsing memory was broken by the sounds of children running and shrieking in the park. The sound was strangely comforting because it reminded you of home, of the little one you had to let go, and the found family you may never see again. But the little girl that screeched your name from across the park on the metal bridge reminded you that there was something good in this world, even if it wasn’t your own.
“I don’t think that would be a good idea.”
The voice sounded beside you on the other side of the tree before you even managed to budge from your leaning stature against it. Nothing Missy ever did went over Marcus Moreno’s head. He watched her like a hawk, as if his eyes were glued to her every movement but you couldn’t blame him. Missy was his life. He did everything for her.
“Don’t approve?” You quirked your head to the side with a smirk that you knew Steve would have said it reminded him of Natasha. Natasha, Steve, Tony...
“Well she doesn’t know you like we do. I think it’s best if she keeps her distance. Not to mention for the safety of the other kids...” Marcus trailed off as his gaze tracked from your own to the playground and the group of Heroic children that littered the place. It was chaotic, but normal? You didn’t know what was normal or not anymore so in truth, you felt it didn’t even matter.
“I don’t hurt children. I would never hurt a child.”
“How are we supposed to know that? What have you done but lie to all of us to make us believe you wouldn’t kill us all right now?”
“Are you trying to make me angry, Marcus?”
Your eyes narrowed as you crossed your arms over your chest. You knew they didn’t trust you. You knew they had a hard time believing your story, even after a year but yet they continued to let you go on missions. They continued to invite you to group luncheons and trusted that you wouldn’t sell their secrets to their enemies.
“Testing your patience.”
“If you didn’t trust me with your daughter, why did you let her eat the food I brought? Why do you let her come to headquarters-”
“Because The Heroics are family. This whole thing-” He rose his hand and gestured to heroes and their children gathered and played around them.
“-is her life as much as it is mine. You came here from some “world” that we’ve never heard of that apparently looks a lot like this one. You are the stranger here, not her and especially not at headquarters.”
Marcus huffed in aggravation and stalked away from the tree and to Anita who had been set up at a picnic table not far from the playground. Anita watched her son make conversation with the newest Heroic and shook her head in a brief and tiny fashion as her son walked toward her with a plume of invisible smoke coming out of his ears.
“You shouldn’t be so rude, give the girl a break. She’s lost everything and everyone she’s ever know and I’d be lying if I said she wasn’t a brilliant fighter. The training she could give all of you is worth more money than we spend in a year fighting aliens.” The look on Anita’s face was critical of Marcus. The son she knew, the one she raised was not cynical or mean. He was kind and loving and a father who would have wanted Missy to have strong women in her life.
“She doesn’t belong here. She isn’t a Heroic and she doesn’t need to talk to Missy any more than she does already.”
“But does she seek out Missy at headquarters or does Missy seek out her?” Marcus couldn’t recall if Missy’s interactions with you were brought on by his own kin. He found the girl hanging upside down on the monkey bars with Guppy below her jumping up to try and touch the long, black locks of his daughter. She looked so carefree, so full of joy until she flopped back onto her feet and turned her gaze toward the tree, almost ready to yell. Marcus followed her eyes only to notice you had gone, like a ghost, and Missy was seeking you out.
In The Heroic Headquarters, you often wandered the halls aimlessly, minding your own business as your thoughts were filled with the events that happened exactly one year before. It was already your one year anniversary in this new world. But my God, or to whatever God was out there, you missed your old life. Even if life wasn’t exactly the most glamorous before Thanos arrived, you had found a comfortable family in Natasha, Steve, and the others who stayed behind at the Avenger’s Facility in New York. Natasha was your sister in all things but blood and you would do anything to see her again. Steve had been the one to lean on when your memories of Russia, of that room, of the little one you had to give away, came flowing back in waves too ample to deal with alone. They were everything to you, everything.
And now you sat alone in an office you were sure was once a broom closet and lie in wait for the other heroes to come, visit, to extend a gracious hand to someone who is hurting but it never came. Every day that passed made that more clear. Even the materials they gave you were sub-par to the advanced ones that scattered the offices of the Heroics. You wondered how this world’s technology was so different from your own and no one knew of it. This multiverse, this time continuum that has taken place is far beyond any knowledge you claimed to have. It took nothing to image Tony or Bruce having an absolute field day with all of this.
“Ms. L/N?” A knock alerted you that a visitor had in fact found your small, grungy door in a vacant hallway.
“Come in!” Who were you to ignore a visitor when all you could think of was the family you’d never see?
Anita Moreno cracked the door open and popped her head in with a smile. She quietly closed the door behind her as she took a seat in the broken desk chair situated across from your desk. You wheeled as best as you could from behind the computer to give her a small, welcoming smile.
“What can I do for you Mrs. Moreno?”
“Please, it’s Anita. You’re a Heroic now, no need for the formality.”
“I’m not-” It wasn’t a chuckle that sounded with your denial. It was a stone-cold denial of being a Heroic because it erased what you really were, an Avenger.
“You are here. You are here.” Her tone wasn’t offended, but re-assuring in her proclamation. Anita could read people like books and you doubt you evaded her abilities by being from another universe. She was far too skilled to let people and their problems fall under a radar.
“I have a request for you, well two to be exact.” She looked up from her folded hands expectantly waiting for you to nod, allowing her to continue on.
“First, I have a mission for you with Ms. Vox and Marcus. It’s nothing too concerning but it needs to be taken care of. And for my other request, I’d like you to help train Missy.” You were sure if you had been drinking anything from water to vodka that it would have found itself all over Anita, but you managed to stay mum and concealed.
“And Marcus approves of this?”
“He doesn’t know.”
“Going behind your son’s back and letting his precious daughter train with a woman he sees as a weapon? My, Anita. You have taken me by surprise, I must say.”
The elder woman smiled slyly as if she were getting away with a far more terrible crime. Missy was just as important to her as she was Marcus. Anita was not going to let Marcus’ prejudice against you prevent Missy from looking up to an accomplished and heroic woman as yourself.
“As long as Missy comes home with no scrapes or bruises, there should be no problem. You can use one of the rooms here and I’ll make sure his card can’t access it. I’ll bring Missy in when she’s done with school, leaving about an hour for her to work with you.”
Anita rose to her feet, preparing herself to leave the room but instead, she turned back around, looking you dead in the eyes and for once, looked like someone who cared.
“I don’t know what your world was like. I don’t know who you were there or the family you left behind, but this is your world as much as it is mine, Missy’s, or Marcus’. He shouldn’t be so cruel. I see how you look at the girl, like she’s special. She is. But I couldn’t help but think it was something more...” She trailed off her speech just as Marcus had that day at the park. Like mother like son you suppose.
“Did you have a family? A child—I mean?”
For the first time in your life you were speechless. Was it that obvious? The longing? You never spoke of the child, not even to Natasha or the others because it was far too painful to recall. The Red Room was traumatic enough and by barely escaping to save the life of a child you so desperately wanted only to give it away to protect its life was worse. You didn’t know where she was or who she lived with now. Her life was an illusion to you if you could craft one. That alone broke you, chilled you to the bone. You held her for two minutes before they took her from your arms to give to another and it would be the one thing you would always regret.
“You don’t have to answer-” Anita backed away from the question when she analyzed your reaction. But she was the only one who cared enough to get to know you and that opportunity for connection was slipping away.
“Yes.”
“Yes, I did. I don’t know her name or if she’s... if she’s alive anymore but I did. I had to give her away. She would be ten.”
“Oh I—I am sorry, I didn’t know.”
“No one does.”
Anita could only nod and attempt to leave again but was halted by your voice.
“Thank you for coming here.” She nodded, acknowledging the difficult transition she knew you were having.
“When is the mission?”
“Two weeks. I’ll, um, bring Missy tomorrow. I’ll send a message about the room later today.”
She left with a twist of the door handle, leaving you with the thoughts of the girl who you tried to, but never could forget. But Missy helped to fill that gaping, vacant hole in your heart. After the first week of pure hesitancy, Missy came running in every day after school with a wide smile, bragging about the grades she received, the friends she had, and the way her father always put her perfect grades on the fridge when she got home.
Missy let you into her life without you asking for it. Even with the distance you tried to give her in order to protect yourself from any kind of unintentional attachment with the girl, she melted it with a look in her kind, young brown eyes and her shining smile. Missy treated you like the adult and role model she wanted, not some foreign alien that the Heroes treated you as.
“How do you know how to do all this stuff?”
Missy was stretching on the red mat while you built an obstacle (of sorts) but only half of her attention was on the task you had instructed her to do. It was the second week of your daily training with Missy and she was disappointed to hear that tomorrow, you would be off on a mission, therefore her favorite after school activity would have to wait.
“I was a spy for many years and I had been in this academy of women fighters.” That’s the only explanation you could give her without truly telling her what happened to you in Russia. The horrible, wicked people who experimented and forced you to become a weapon on behalf of the state.
“And what about your old team? How did you meet them?” She sat up now on her knees in an anxious, excited inertia.
There was an initial hesitancy with that question, though you had to ask yourself why. Why, after a year of being in this new world, were you still not willing to be open and voice your story to someone who wanted, someone asking, for it. But what did you have to lose but divulging in this girl’s questions? Nothing. Heck, Nat would probably be proud that you let your guard down enough to make a connection in the first place.
“I met them through-”
You didn’t even get passed the fourth word when the door to the training room slid open and a very, very, angry Marcus charged in with Anita on his tail. She looked pleadingly at you as he grabbed his daughter off the mat on the floor and grabbed her bag from the highest stack of mats to his left.
“Marcus please!” Anita tried to plead with him but he did not listen.
“No! I told you I don’t want her anywhere near her and what did you do!?”
Marcus tossed the bag to Missy who barely caught it in her trembling hands. She had never seen her father break the cool façade he wore on the daily.
“Dad-”
“You go with her. I am not going to have this conversation with you now, but when I get home, you better believe that we will be having a long talk about this.”
Anita wrapped her arms protectively over Missy and practically dragged the girl out of the room while Marcus stood with his hands splayed on his hips in anger. Maybe if it were another universe you would have found it just a little adorable.
“I had my suspicions that this is where she was. Three days ago when my card denied me access to this room I knew someone was lying to me about it.”
“Marcus, you’re over-“
“I am NOT OVERREACTING!” He shouted with a blazing fury. His eyes were filled with nothing but a fatherly rage.
“I asked you to not go anywhere near my daughter and here she is training with you like some—some prodigy! She is my daughter!”
“You think I don’t know that!? Do you really think I am that stupid to not notice the girl is your daughter? She’s just like you!”
“If she was just like me, then she wouldn’t have run off every afternoon with a deadly stranger.”
You shook your head at him with petty laughter.
“You are the most ridiculous, most annoying, and most PRETENTIOUS PERSON I HAVE EVER MET!”
Rage continued to boil up his body like a pot of water. Had Marcus ever met someone he found as infuriating as you? No. Had he ever met someone like you? No. Had he ever been slightly curious about you? He wouldn’t answer that question. Besides, now he was playing protective dad and he never had been given a reason to trust you.
“If you had a child, I bet you would feel the same.”
You think he meant it as some sick burn but he had no idea, none of them did. So your brows lifted at him as a smirk graced your face knowingly.
“If you cared for a second to get to know me— you would know the answer to that question.”
More than a deadly spy, though none of them ever cared to know more than what your profession suggested.
You left the room in an abrupt haste following the confession. A part of your conscious still wasn’t sure whether or not telling everyone every little detail about your past was a good idea, let alone a safe idea. But every night you thought of the family you disappeared from; how you wished you could have told them everything about your past before they disintegrated into dust around you. If you couldn’t do it then, maybe you could do it now.
The next day happened to be the mission Anita had set up for Marcus, Ms. Vox, and yourself. While Marcus waited in uniform with the singing siren pacing the room, he was sure you weren’t going to walk through those doors. One side of him felt that you were the kind of person who ran away after exposing some deep secret, the other thought maybe you just quit. But when you waltzed in with your weapons and uniform perfectly pressed, he couldn’t make eye contact.
If it weren’t for Missy’s dotting on your character that previous evening, he probably would have still been angry. But there was little doubt in his mind that Missy would lie about someone she trusted, so maybe he could give you a chance. That belief quickly turned when you wouldn’t speak to him or even look him in the eye five hours into the mission that had you all stuck in a building across from an increasingly suspicious studio apartment. According to Anita, this is where technological weapons were being stored and the mission was to identify the weapons and alert headquarters so they could send an extraction team. Unfortunately the view was poor and between the three of you, only three pieces of equipment were identified.
“I think we should try and sneak in.” The suggestion came from Ms. Vox who appeared a bit eager to be on an incredibly serious mission. Marcus tried to look at you for an opinion but you gave him no audience.
“If we go in, someone needs to stay behind to keep guard.”
“Maybe I could keep guard and you both can go in?”
The proposition was most unwelcome. You and Marcus, together, on a mission that was possibly deadly, and you still wouldn’t look each other in the eye.
“Or I can go with one of you?” Ms. Vox’s voice was straining but she walked on egg shells to get an answer. Be the bigger person, be the bigger person.
“Marcus and I will go inside. Vox wait down the hall from the door and you need to press the call button on the watch if you see anyone. If we are not out of the apartment in five minutes, alert headquarters and let them bring in the team.” It was a demand and no questions were asked as Ms. Vox rose first to leave the room, followed by you, then a concerned but unquestioning Marcus.
To the building across the street and down the hall, no words were exchanged between the two of you. You both kept quiet as the room came closer and all weapons were drawn in protection.
“You take the left and I’ll go right.” Again, he didn’t question it but he did nod, meet your eyes in understanding.
For starters, the apartment was entirely open concept. The floor was lined with rows of computers; all had been wired to one another and their screens were a blinding blue. You looked up at Marcus as he rounded the row nearly three yards in front of you. The look he returned was unsettled by the scene.
“What do you think they’re doing here?”
“Beats me. I’ve never seen anything like this before.” And it was true—he truly hadn’t. Most of the time missions were against some alien breed, certainly not old junkie computers from his childhood. You lowered your gun for a brief moment, pressing a key on the closest keyboard and all the computers went black. The light from two sets of comms were the only light in the room until a stream of three, then four, then five lines of green invaded from the window. Slowly they crept on the floor until the met a black boot and trailed up the targets body.
It took no time for you to realize what it was.
“Get down! Marcus get down!”
You practically barreled into him as fast as you could, wrapping your arms around his torso as his swords went flying in the opposite direction. Gunfire erupted around you both as you scrambled to drag his body with yours to a corner away from the windows.
“Are you alright? Can you hear me?”
All you could illicit was a nod in combination with a panic gaze. It would take four minutes for the rest of the Heroes to arrive and find the two of you. But whatever happened in Marcus’ brain the moment he saw you tumbled towards him in his moment of peril, changed the dynamic.
It first began as complete acceptance into the team. No one questioned your actions and your abilities were praised just as much as the others. Marcus didn’t keep his distance, but also allowed Missy to continue lessons after school because he trusted you. You saved his life and if it weren’t for you, he would have never seen Missy again.
After about a year of acceptance, Marcus attempted friendship. He would ask you to do things, outside of work, especially when they involved Missy. Bowling, Pizza nights, ice cream runs, game nights; they all became normal after the first few times of pure hesitancy. Although you weren’t entirely comfortable with the idea because of how he treated you in the past, you could tell it was an honest effort. You also would be lying if you said you didn’t have any fun doing those things.
In your fourth year in this new universe something else happened—something unexpected. Instead of what had become a usual game night, Marcus asked you on a date. Your initial reaction was to say no, laugh at the attempt, and return to the monopoly game (yes, you did find it strange that this universe had many similarities to the other). But the “what if” question lingered after minutes of contemplation so you said yes. And you would be lying again if you said anything other than it was “the best date you had ever been on.”
And somewhere in that fifth year of living, Marcus asked you to move in with Missy and himself, and you said yes. Finally, a family of your own that wouldn’t disappear at the snap of a finger. Every day you thought of what Natasha would say to you if she knew about this. One part of you wanted to believe that she would be surprised but proud, while the other believed she would laugh and call you soft. In reality she would have responded both ways.
Every morning you woke up to a man who looked at you as if you held the world in your hand. How you went from enemies to lovers was beyond your comprehension but you didn’t want to question it further. The way he would hold your hand on difficult days, smile at you from across the table, kiss you goodnight, love you until you believed you couldn’t be loved anymore. It was those things you didn’t have in that other world that you just held onto with a tight grip now.
As Marcus readied lunch in the Kitchen, you helped stack new books on Missy’s bookshelf with her. The girl had grown so much over the years and was making her way into becoming the leader Marcus, and Anita, wanted her to be.
“I left a box out in the hall, do you think you could get it?” Missy asked as she admired the cover of a fantasy book in front of her. She looked up with her big brown eyes that reminded you so much of the man in the other room that you couldn’t deny her anything.
“Sure. Be right back.”
But you never came back.
Because you woke up with a jolt on the dirt ground of a forest you hadn’t seen in years.
Wakanda.
When you slept, you dreamed of Wanda, the best sleep you have had in many weeks. When you opened your eyes again, it was morning. And judging by the noise in the camp, everyone was already up. It took you a moment to remember that you were going to rob a train today.
- Hey sleepyhead, you need to hurry up. - Nat said as she entered your tent, you were getting up, and frowned as you watched her walk toward your trunk, clearly looking for something.
- Good morning! - you said, stretching. - What are you looking for?
- Socks.
You laughed, and reached out to the space between the corner of your bed, where you began to hide your socks precisely because Natasha was in the habit of stealing them. You held out a pair to her, and she made an expression pretending to be offended by your hiding place. She sat down beside you on the bed, throwing the boots she was carrying on the floor.
- You look happy. - She commented as she put on her socks. You shrugged your shoulders, trying to cover it up. She laughed. - No way, sis. Whats the deal with that smirk?
You got out of bed, laughing lightly as your cheeks flushed. You were about to tell her what happened, but Pietro stumbled into your room, looking excited as he buttoned his shirt.
- Does anyone have a little bit of hair pomade? My hair is a disaster today. - He comments, causing Nat to frown.
- Are you trying to look attractive for a robbery? - She hits back, he shrugs.
- I am already attractive. I just wanted to look more presentable.
You and Nat laugh at the comment, and you push him out of the tent, informing him that he had used up all of your supply, but that Thor would probably have some hair pomade.
Nat finished putting on her boots and approached you.
- We'll talk later, young lady.  - She warned you with a smile, before leaving.
You rolled your eyes with amusement, walking towards your trunk in search of clothes more suitable for a robbery.
Tucking your hat on your head, you walked towards the main campfire, where most of the gang members were having their coffees. You exchanged a glance with Wanda, smiling shyly at her as you picked up some bread from the supply wagon, she smiled back at you tenderly.
- Attention everyone! - Steve announced, standing in front of his own tent, where everyone could see him. - I hope everyone rested well tonight. - He paused to check his watch. - We'll be leaving in a few minutes, so finish your coffee, and get your weapons from the wagon with Bucky. If you have anything else to pick up, hurry up!
Pietro imitated an army reference as Nat shouted "Yes, Captain" drawing laughter from everyone. Steve also smiled as he signaled with his fingers that he was "keeping an eye" on the mischief of the two.
You wiped the bread crumbs off your clothes before walking towards the ammunition wagon, joining the small line to get the guns. Bucky smiled at you when it was your turn, and handed you a springfield rifle, at which you looked at him in surprise.
- I thought I was going to get a Lancaster. - You commented but Bucky made a sound with his mouth of disagreement, writing something down in his small notebook before looking at you.
- We lost almost all of them in the fire. And besides, I thought you'd be fine with your two revolvers.
You shrugged, thanking him for the gun before leaving the line. You slung the rifle over your back, and walked toward the entrance to the camp, where Steve was already waiting for the others beside Peggy.
- Everything okay? - He asked as soon as you reached him, and you smiled and nodded your agreement.
While you were fixing the Knight's saddle, the others were joining you.
Nat tipped your hat jokingly as she passed you, heading for her own horse. You were about to give her a poorly crafted reply, but you spotted Wanda and Pietro walking to the area, and the answer died in your throat. You looked away quickly, mounting Knight.
When everyone arrived, Steve mounted on his brown sorrel before speaking:
- That's it, folks. I wish us all to ride safely. - He spoke in a serious tone, assuming a posture of leadership. - Take care of each other out there.
Everyone nodded in agreement, and you watched Peggy lead the way for her group. You turned your head to the side, only to watch Nat signal the way your group should go.
You would like to say that you rode in silence, but as soon as you were within a few yards of the camp, Pietro's out-of-tune singing filled your ears. You and the girls laughed, but he continued singing at full volume.
- Good Lord! - Nat grumbled, but soon Monica joined in the singing. And Nat laughed before joining in their song.
- I got a girl in Valentine likes to drink that fancy wine. - sang Pietro accompanied by Nat and Monica, while you and Wanda laughed at the lack of rhythm.
The ride was a mixture of laughter and singing, but as you approached the meeting place, the mood changed quite a bit, and you fell silent. You covered your face with the mask, lingering your gaze on Wanda's masked face.
Nat signaled that you had reached the place where you, Pietro and Wanda would be staying to let her know that the train was moving, and you held out your hand to her, giving her a warm handshake before she rode off with Monica. You tried to swallow your nervousness.
- Are you ready for this, girls? - Pietro tried to look nonchalant, but his gaze showed his nervousness. You exchanged a look with Wanda before nodding.
- It's not the first time we've stolen a train. - You joked, but you couldn't see your friends' smiles because of the mask.
- I bet I can do better shooting than you. - Pietro exclaimed after a moment, making you laugh. - Are you doubting me?
- Please, Pietro. We both know that Wanda is going to hit a lot more shots than both of us put together. - You declared, and Pietro laughed, poking his sister in the ribs, who just shrugged with a smug look.
- Don't you ever stop moving? - complained Wanda after a moment, you observed Pietro almost hanging off the horse, trying to fuss with the aforge.
- I'm usually the one who's driving. - He retorts, and Wanda rolls her eyes.
- If you try to ride Hex, he'll knock you down in a second. - You say ironically, Wanda nods in agreement, but Pietro just shrugs.
- Wouldn't I have some kind of twin advantage? - he joked. - Maybe he trusts me to tame him.
- Pietro, shut up. - Wanda said, and you laughed, thinking it was a joke. But then you noticed the redhead's raised eyebrows, and looked straight ahead. Pietro spoke again, and then you asked him to shut up. An explosion noise was heard in the distance afterwards.
- What the fuck was that? - Pietro exclaimed, and you advanced with Knight toward the train tracks.
- Stay here, okay? - You say, getting ready to ride. - I'll go investigate.
- What, no way! - Wanda exclaimed, but you heard a second explosion. Feeling your chest fill with concern, you turned around one last time before leaving.
- Just stick to the plan, okay? I just need to make sure that Steve is okay.
And you rode at high speed in the direction the train was supposed to come. It didn't take long before you spotted the oil fields, startled by the black smoke that was visible in the sky. As you got closer, you could hear the sound of gunfire, and then you came down the small hill and could see the conflict.
You couldn't tell where all those men had come from, but noticing their green uniforms, you identified them as O'Driscoll. It was easy to understand that they had decided to attack the factory after all. You noticed the black carriages that belonged to Howard Stark, completely surrounded by guards, but your gaze was searching for Steve.
You were startled when Wanda suddenly appeared riding beside you.
- Shit, girl, you scared the hell out of me! - You shouted as you rode into the conflict.
- I can't believe you actually thought I was going to let you fight alone. - She said in a tone of mixed seriousness and teasing, and you rolled your eyes in mock amusement.
Then you identified Peggy, still mounted, shooting at what you imagined to be the factory guards.
- Steve! Steve! - she shouted, and you felt your chest sink. You couldn't see him in the confusion either. You, Wanda and Pietro finally reached her, and she seemed relieved to see you all right.
- What the hell happened here? - Pietro asked.
- The O'Driscolls came shooting in the middle of the negotiation! - Peggy explained, shouting so that you could hear her between shots. - They surrounded the factory from all sides, and someone shot Howard Stark!
- Where's Steve? - you asked, trying to find him in the crowd.
- He went to Bucky. - Peggy said with concern in her voice. She looked away from you to take aim with the rifle she was holding, and fired in the direction of the guards. At the distance you were standing, no one was shooting back.
- Right. - You nodded before sending Knight toward the gunshots. You heard Peggy yelling for you to come back, but you could only think of Steve.
You skirted the field, heading toward the factory, while drawing one of the revolvers. Knight was getting very agitated by the noise, so you tried to calm him down with words of affirmation.
As your proximity increased, the enemies began to notice you. You didn't want to risk using your rifle while mounted, so you took them on with your revolvers, while keeping Knight at high speed to avoid the shots. You succeeded in most of the shots, without really absorbing the images of the open wounds and the bullets going through the skin of those you shot. It was a war in the open, and when you felt a gunshot graze your ear, you began to really worry about Steve's safety. You ducked your head as you sent Knight toward the entrance of the factory, but then you felt your body being thrown forward, knocking you off your horse. You rolled on the ground for a few meters, and let out a grunt of pain when you finally stopped. Blinking in confusion, you looked around, getting up with difficulty. Nothing broken, you checked.
You lost your breath next, feeling a great impact on your stomach that you eventually realized was a punch. A man knocked you to the ground, the black uniform of a factory guard. You struggled against him, and he had an angry expression as he tried to choke you. You got out of your grip by kneeing him in the balls, and he fell over onto his side in pain. You hurried to get up, but when you reached for your pistol, you saw that your holster was empty. As you reached for your revolver in the secondary holster, someone grabbed you from behind, one arm choking you by the neck.
You tried to let go, unable to breathe properly as you raised your hand to try to pry the arm around your neck, but the guard holding you would not let go. The man you kicked started to get up.
Then you heard two shots, and the grip loosened. You fell to your knees, coughing with shortness of breath, before your breathing normalized. Both men fell to the ground with a thud, and you looked around in confusion. Wanda and Pietro stood side by side, each with their pistols raised in the direction you were standing.
- Are you all right there, dear? - teased Pietro.
You smiled at them, but before you could mutter a thank you, other shots rang out nearby, and you rushed to grab your fallen revolver a few inches away. You sought shelter to avoid the shots, and crouched side by side against a block of wood.
- They're heading for the train! - shouted a male voice, and then you watched as a large group of guards ran toward the checkpoint, which was a few meters in front of the factory, in the opposite direction from you. But the members of the O'Driscoll gang seemed to spring up from the ground, and resisted the guards with many shots.
You looked around, and finally spotted Steve. His blond hair showing through the factory window. You imagined that he had found a good place to avoid the gunfire inside.
- Steve is inside. - You told the twins. - Cover me.
And then you rolled to the side, ducking as you ran toward the factory door. The guards continued to shoot at the O'Driscolls, and didn't seem to make any difference who wasn't in the gang, shooting at anything that moved. Wanda and Pietro provided good cover, since you didn't get shot.
Entering the factory, you ran to where Steve was standing, frowning at the trail of blood on the floor. You completely lost your breath at the image you saw.
Steve was hiding against one of the machines, trying to shoot some guards that were on the opposite side of the room. Bucky was on his lap, unconscious, the blood pooling around him, his left arm pierced by something that looked like a piece of iron. You fell to your knees in front of them, raising your hands, which were trembling badly, to Bucky.
- Steve... What happened to him? - You asked, and only at this proximity you noticed the dry tears on his cheeks.
- He'll be fine, Y/N. - Steve replied, and then he finally hit the last guard of the factory, and the gunshot noises were only outside now. Steve stood up, trying to lift Bucky. - Come on, help me carry him.
You helped him, and Steve hung Bucky by his healthy arm on his shoulders. You noticed that he was not unconscious only when he let out a loud groan of pain.
- We have to get out of here. - Steve grumbled as you walked through the factory. - They shot the horses.
- Where are you going? - You exclaimed as you saw him walking in the opposite direction from where you had come, directly into the area where the conflict was most intense. You heard again the sound of an explosion, which shook the entire factory.
- The train, Y/N. - He explained. - It's our only way out of here. Take my gun, make way for us.
Steve handed you his own Litchfield, and you took a deep breath before opening the factory door. Looking around, you noticed a small group of guards trying to set up a barrier against the advancing O'Driscolls in the outpost area.
You were trying to decide how exactly you were going to shoot twenty other people without dying, when you heard a much larger explosion happen and you were thrown back into the factory with the impact.
- What the hell? - You grumbled, trying to stand up again, and then you felt someone lift you off the ground.
- They're setting the oil on fire. - Pietro explained, helping you up, Wanda by your side. - We have to get out of here fast.
- We have to get to the train. - You told them, moving towards the factory door again. Now you could see the flames growing around the place. The guards that had once been near the door had scattered all over the place, trying to get away from the fire.
- The way to go is to shoot everything that moves. - commented Pietro, joining you at the door. You nodded. - Is our bet still on? - He added in a playful tone, and you rolled your eyes, not answering.
And then you left the factory, you and Pietro in front, shooting anyone who looked like they wanted to kill you. Wanda covered the rear so that Steve could carry Bucky to the train, which was stopped at the post.
Despite all the shooting, you finally arrived at the station, and Steve rushed to load Bucky into one of the wagons, while you, Wanda and Pietro shot the few guards inside the transport.
The guards at the factory were too busy with the O'Driscolls burning everything around them to notice you boarding the train.
Thor came up to you next, completely covered in soot and blood, but still mounted on his white sorrel. He made it across the field to the post.
- Someone killed Stark. - He shouted. You looked at him with shock, but hurried to get on the train.
- Thor, did you see where Peggy was? - you asked.
- No! - He retorted, and then turned his horse's reins so that it was headed in the direction of where you last saw Peggy. - I haven't seen her since the first explosion, I'm going back to check on her!
And he rode away. You ran to the wagon in which Steve had placed Bucky lying on one of the benches.
- I think they killed the driver too. The train looks empty. - You told Steve. But he didn't seem to be listening at all, completely disturbed by Bucky's state. But then he blinked and turned to you, standing up.
- I'll get the train moving. Just... take care of him, okay?
You nodded in agreement, and he left the cab, running toward the front of the train.
When the engine started moving, the guards still tried to shoot at you, but you were already out of range. You figured that the only reason none of the guards were following you on horseback was because of the remaining O'Driscolls in the factory, who seemed determined to burn the whole place down.
You let out an exclamation of relief when you saw Thor and Nat's horses approaching. Both riding together with Peggy and Monica respectively.
Steve stepped out of the driver's cab into an open wagon, intending to talk to them.
- You need to get out of here! - Peggy shouted. - There were soldiers in Stark's caravan. They will hunt the heads of anyone who is in the area.
- Get back to camp! - Steve shouted at the same height so that he could be heard over the wind. - You've got to get everyone out of there!
- Where are we going, Steve?
- Stephen! Ask Stephen for a safe place.
Peggy nodded, and then Thor swung the reins of his horse, and they rode off toward the camp. Nat glanced at you before following them, and you tried not to worry so much, repeating to yourself that she would be fine.
You ran into the driver's cab, finding Steve trying to turn the train around.
- What are you going to do? - You asked, watching as he tried to push the mechanical steering wheel with difficulty, which you found strange. And then your gaze lowered a little and you noticed the deep cut on his waist. - My God, Steve, what is that?
He grumbled, but didn't move his hands away. You rushed to help him turn the wheel, before allowing him to lean on your shoulders, and you led him back to the same spot where Bucky had been.
Wanda and Pietro looked at you with worried expressions, but you only said that Steve had a cut on his stomach.
- I need to stop the bleeding, okay? - you said to Steve, who just shook his head in agreement. You took off your jacket, using it to press on the open wound.
Seeing him like that, and hearing the low moans of pain from Bucky in the next seat, brought a wracking feeling to your stomach. Your hands began to shake, and your eyes filled with tears, as you tried to normalize your breathing and not cry. Steve realizing your state, raised his hand to shake yours, a tender but tired smile on his face.
- It's okay, Y/N. - he whispered. - We'll both be fine.
You shook your head, feeling a tear run down your cheek. Steve looked very pale, and you couldn't stop staring.
Feeling a hand on your shoulder, you let out a sigh, startled a little. Wanda crouched down beside you.
- Let me do it. - She said in a low tone, noticing your nervousness. You shook your head in denial.
- It's okay, Wands. I... - Your voice came out completely broken. Wanda moved your hands
- Look for the supply wagon with Pietro. - She asked, the hand that had been on your shoulder caressing your face lightly, wiping away the tears that had run down your face. - I'll take care of it.
You shook your head, unable to say anything. Getting up in shock, you walked to the end of the train car, finding Pietro waiting for you at the door. He gave you a warm smile, and you tried to focus on that and not on the urge to turn around and go back to Steve.
You walked in silence the entire length of the train. As you looked around, your breathing calmed down, and you felt less terrified. When you finally reached the supply wagon, and started going through the lockers, Pietro joked that you really did rob a train after all, and you were able to laugh softly.
After a moment, Pietro let out a happy exclamation, and you turned to him curiously.
- Damn, finally! Here, look, these are medical supplies. - He said as he divided some items among you two.
You were leaving the cabin when you heard a strange noise. You frowned and exchanged a look with Pietro before drawing your revolver and walking toward the source of the noise: the large closet in the corner of the wagon.
Pietro shouted in fright when a man fell out. You stumbled backwards, torn between punching Pietro for being so outrageous, or shooting the stranger. You ended up waiting for the stranger to manifest himself.
- Maybe it's a ghost. - Pietro commented, and you rolled your eyes. The man seemed to be faking a faint.
- I will shoot you in the head if you don't say something in the next two seconds.
This seemed to stimulate the stranger enough, who stood up quickly, with his hands on his head. He must have been Steve's age, but he was very well dressed, and had a well-groomed beard. You gave him a sharp look.
- Damn, sorry, sorry. - He said. - I was hiding.
- Are you going to tell me who you are, or can I throw you off the train now?
The man turned pale, but hurried to answer.
- My name is Anthony Stark. - said the man, and you widened your eyes in surprise. - I wouldn't want to be thrown off my own train.
Pietro laughed at the joke, but you looked at him reprovingly, and he shut up.
- What were you doing hiding in the closet of your train, Mr. Stark? - you questioned him, and he felt comfortable enough to lower his hands.
- Well, you and your friends blew up an oil field on top of my carriage, and I was dragged to safety by my security guards. - He explained, putting his hands in his pockets.
- I didn't know Stark was bringing his son into the negotiation. - Commented Pietro, and you watched Tony's expression change at the mention of his father. You almost sympathized with him.
- We're not the ones who attacked you in the camps. - You said, but Tony looked at you suspiciously.
- But it is you who are stealing my train.
- We are running away on your train.
- And that's different from stealing, how exactly?
You smiled at the argument. Then you rolled your eyes, putting away your revolver.
- We don't have time for this. - You declared, turning toward the exit and starting to walk toward the next wagons. You heard Pietro and Tony accompany you. It took a moment for Tony to question what exactly you were going to do with what you were carrying, and Pietro explained that you had two wounded. Tony let out an exclamation.
- I can help with that. I am a doctor.
- Why would you help people who are robbing your train? - you asked suspiciously. Tony just shrugged his shoulders.
- I wouldn't like to be thrown onto the tracks. - He says simply.
Arriving at the destination wagon, you rush to put the items down before walking over to Steve, being glad that he was still awake. You look at Bucky, who is still groaning, but conscious.
- Who is this? - Wanda asks as soon as Tony enters the wagon.
- Tony Stark. - You answer, and ignore her surprised look to pull Tony toward Steve. - Here are your patients, Doctor Stark.
- Okay, this is really bad. - He comments as soon as he catches his eyes on Bucky. He keeps muttering to himself before looking at you with an expression of pity and seriousness. - I'm sorry, I'm going to have to amputate.
Steve turns his head to the side quickly, and you feel a wave of nausea in your stomach.
Seeing that everyone is in shock, Tony continues.
- I know it's not what anyone wants to hear, but I need to amputate his arm soon. He has already lost too much blood. - And then he stood up, looking for something. He grabbed an empty suitcase from one of the compartments, and carried it toward Bucky. - I need a knife.
Pietro asked him to wait, and ran toward the supply wagon, returning a short time later, a saw in his hands.
You blinked in horror at the weapon, but Pietro shrugged, saying:
- I've seen a doctor do this once before.
- Yes yes, that's better than a knife actually. - Tony commented and then he crouched down next to Bucky. - Hey buddy, this is going to hurt a lot. - He said as he moved Bucky's arm over the bag he had picked up. Bucky was already grunting loudly in pain from the movement. - I wouldn't stand by and watch if I were you.
- I'll keep an eye on him, if you like. - Pietro suggested, and you and Wanda nodded, stepping out of the car. You were feeling extremely disturbed by the whole situation.
You stared at the landscape at high speed, leaning against the railing of the open wagon, And then you felt your whole body tremble when Bucky's first screams could be heard. You bowed your head, closing your eyes. Wanda stood next to you, and reached your hand over the railing and intertwined your fingers together, trying to calm you. It didn't help much when the sounds continued, but it was better than being alone.
And then the screaming stopped. You let out a sigh. You gave Wanda's hand one last squeeze before letting go, turning toward the wagon door.
You didn't look at Bucky, the sight of Stark covered in blood made you too queasy. Tony wiped some of the blood from his face and arms with a towel before ducking toward Steve.
Steve grumbled at getting stitches, but it was all much cleaner than with Bucky. And then in a few minutes, Tony was finished.
- I think you guys should get some rest now. - he says, but Steve lets out a hoarse laugh.
- Our stop is approaching. - Steve says with irony. He gets up with difficulty, refusing Pietro's help, and you roll your eyes at how proud he can be. He walks out of the wagon, looking around, and then heads toward the driver's cab. You follow him, frowning in concern.
- Steve, what are you doing? - you ask.
- Come, here. Help me stop the train. - He asks, ignoring your question. You look around, and are confused to realize that you are in the middle of nowhere, this track route you didn't know. But you approach and help him to stop the locomotive.
As the train comes to a stop, you watch the scenery intently.
- Are we still in New Hanover? - you ask and Steve laughs lightly.
- Of course we are. - He says. - We're not that far from Emerald Ranch. If you walk a little further you will notice that we have reached the edge of the tracks.
- Oh, we're close to the Roanoke Ridge area. - You say, finally locating yourself. Steve nods in agreement.
You walk back to the wagon where everyone was, and you realize that with the train at a stop, it is much easier to keep your balance.
Steve approaches Bucky, stroking his hair, but the man is asleep. He crouches down to carry him, but Pietro says that he and Stark can handle it. Steve tries to argue, but eventually gives in.
- Do you have any idea where we are going to camp? - Wanda asks Steve and he laughs, ruffling her hair.
- I wouldn't bring you to the middle of nowhere without tents or food, kids. - He jokes, but seeing the disbelieving looks on their faces, he pretends to be offended. - I am hurt by the lack of trust this gang has in me.
You roll your eyes with irony, and Wanda smiles at you.
When you get off the train, Steve leads the way, and it takes a few minutes before he speaks again.
- Bucky and I used to hunt bears in this region. - He said. - Before the gang, of course. When we were in the army.
Everyone was silent as they listened to Steve telling the story, maybe it was tiredness. You guessed that the only reason Pietro didn't interrupt with a joke was because he was busy trying to carry Bucky.
- There was an abandoned cottage around here. - he says. - In the war, anywhere would do for shelter, but finding a place like that was big luck. - Steve looks around for a moment, probably trying to remember the right direction. - It was simple, but extremely cozy. But after we formed the gang, and you kids came, there was nothing left to keep us down south. So we traveled to New Austin and this place was forgotten for good.
- You guys like to tell stories, don't you? - remarked Tony in a tone of debauchery, you startled slightly, having forgotten that he was present. Steve looked at him with disapproval, but didn't say anything.
You walked a little longer, silent except for the sound of Steve's whistling, and then he stopped walking.
- Finally! - complained Tony.
Steve pulled back a long pine leaf that blocked the view from the front, and then you could see the little brown cottage a few meters away from where you were standing.
It was covered with leaves, almost completely hidden among the forest. You wouldn't have seen it if you hadn't been looking directly at it. It was a simple construction, and small, with at most two or three rooms. You smiled as you noticed the lake surrounding the garden.
You walked toward the place, and Steve forced open the door, checking to see if the place really was empty. He entered the cottage, and returned a moment later smiling, and signaling for you to come in.
You were surprised to notice that there was furniture, all covered with white sheets. Steve really used to use this place. You noticed that it was larger than it looked from the outside. The room was well lit, and there was even a window in the ceiling. There were two bedrooms, which extended to the back, which is why you could not see them from the outside. The bathroom was shared between them.
- This place is amazing, Steve. - Pietro remarked as he put Bucky down on the bed in one of the bedrooms. - But I have to ask, nobody died here, right? I hate ghosts.
Steve laughed, denying it with his head.
- This will do for a few days. - He said as he looked around the cabin. - At least until Bucky is well enough to travel.
- How are we going to find the gang? - Wanda asked.
- Peggy knows about this place. - He replied. - When they find a new place, I'm sure she'll write to us.
- Do the letters even get here? - you asked ironically, making Steve laugh.
- Well, you're very funny today. Of course there is mail here.
You laugh and exchange a mischievous look with Wanda and Pietro.
- Now if you don't mind, why don't you try hunting our dinner? - Steve suggests, and you understand that he actually wants the three of you to leave, and you know exactly why. - I'll have a word with Mr. Stark.
- Doctor. - Tony corrects, but Steve ignores him.
You, Wanda and Pietro obey, walking out of the cabin. Now that you are safe, you let out a sigh of relief.
- Do you think he will stay with us? - asked Pietro as soon as you were outside.
You shrugged.
- I think Steve is going to ask him to stay. - Said Wanda, and you and Pietro looked at her curiously. - Stark saved Bucky's life.
- Stark thought it was us who set fire to the oil fields. - You said. - He must think that we are also the ones who killed his father.
- Damn, this is bad. - added Pietro. - If he thinks we killed his father, he will surely denounce us. And he's already seen our faces very clearly.
- We'll have to trust Steve. - You said, shrugging your shoulders. - We have to believe that he will be able to convince Tony of the truth.
Wanda and Pietro nodded in agreement, and you spent a moment in silence, before you told them that you should look for dinner.
- Let's have some fun then. - says Pietro as he reloads his own gun. - Whoever finds food first, or whoever brings the best hunt, wins.
- Sorry but what prize do you have to offer? - You mock.
- You know, greed is such a sad thing. - Pietro returns in the same tone, making you and Wanda laugh. - Besides the incalculable fun I'm offering, the winner gets to choose the prize.
- You're out of ideas, aren't you? - Wanda sneers, and Pietro shrugs, laughing in agreement.
- Do you accept the conditions? - He asks, pretending to be serious. You roll your eyes humorously, but agree, being accompanied by Wanda. Pietro jumps up and down with excitement. - Let the hunt begin!
He shouts and rushes forward. You and Wanda laugh before running off in opposite directions.
