Mini steps towards being independent:

I know. I know the frustration of not being in charge of your life. Especially when you are financially dependent and for some under 20s. Everyone treats you like a child but expects you to be an adult.

Then we have the group who go on insisting they are adults and capable of taking life decisions but for the love of God can't change their bedsheet responsibly.

Thus, I have come up with some mini tricks that will make you feel just a tiny bit independent:

Anytime anywhere list

1) Learn how to cook.

2) Take responsibility for household chores such as washing clothes, utensils,etc.

3) Do groceries shopping.

4) Keep track of the essentials required at home and make sure to stock them up.

5) Change the bedsheets weekly.

6) Clean your cupboards timely.

7) Plan a trip with your friends and take care of the execution part.

8) Decide what to make for lunch, dinner or breakfast and execute it solely (right from buying the food required to cooking it).

9) Check on your younger siblings studies. Take an update of their life or keep your room organized and clean.

10) Grow plants.

Planned execution list

Live alone. Try to get out of your parental home and start a new life in another city.

Get an internship/job.

Manage your finances on a budget and save money at the same time.

Take major life decisions such as your career field, whom to be friends with, etc solely on your own judgement.

Learn to navigate difficult social situations with ease.

Adopt a pet.

Develop your own ethical system.

Curate your discipline.

Identify your non-negotiable in different aspects of life.

Learn to speak up for yourself.

The Ash Princess Trilogy by Laura Sebastian is perfect for ya fantasy lovers who love a warrior princess trope and there’s really interesting world building in the later books. Every country has its own system of government, customs, technological advancements, and relationship to magic. The main character, Princess Theo, is a prisoner of the invaders who took over her land but she is patient, fiercely protective of her people, and stronger than she’s ever known. If you liked Aelin Galathynius but wished her story was less like it was told from the colonizer’s point of view, the Ash Princess trilogy is perfect for you. The main character goes through incredible character development and the series touches colonialism better than a lot of ya fantasy. Also the cover art is so gorgeous.

U.A. High School Field Trip Around Japan: Day 6 Translations

This is Day 6 of Shonen Jump’s special commemoration of My Hero Academia reaching one hundred million copies worldwide, which is being rolled out daily across one-week in each prefecture’s newspaper.

The schedule:

April 4th, Day 1: Hokkaidō & Tōhōku regions

Nanzo-in Temple is home to one of the largest bronze statues in the world depicting a reclining Buddha, called Shaka Nehan (Nirvana). The statue holds ashes of Buddha and two adherents, which were gifts from Myanmar as thanks for Nanzo-in's donations of medical supplies.

Saga

Ashido: "The squid are dancing!!" Tokoyami: "The squid, such speed!" Aizawa: "For drying a large amount of squid at once, it's a really reasonable method." Tokoyami: "A magnificent display of stormy turmoil!!!"

This is a fixture at Yobuko Town's morning market which rapidly dries squid by rotating in circles. The Japanese name, ikaguruguru, uses an onomatopoeia for going around in circles so you could call it a "squidy-go-round." Tokoyami uses the Japanese term for the German aesthetic Sturm und Drang. By the way, the term for dried squid, surume, is also used to mean something that grows on you over time. It's one of the most popular snacks in Japan!

Nagasaki

Nagasaki is considered to have one of the top three best night skylines in Japan. You can visit Mount Inasa's Observatory to see it for free, but they got something even better!

Kumamoto

The city of Aso lights its mountain on fire every year as part of the Aso Fire Festival, a coordinated effort between farmers to replenish the fertility of their soil. My favorite part is that Katsuki doesn't deny that he blew the mountain up in flames... he's saying, "see, I'm helping, all right!!"

Ōita

Kaminari: "Now then, who's getting in!! To soothe your travel weariness!" Iida: "STOP! Do you want to be boiled alive!? Swimming in the Blood Pond Hell area is prohibited!!" Kaminari: "So this is a 'bitterness of denied entry' type hell, then! (cry)"

They are trying to bathe in the Blood Pond Hell in Beppu City, where iron oxide and magnesium oxide mix and get pushed to the surface to turn the water blood red. Beppu is known for its Eight Hells, hot springs that are so hot (often greater than 200 degrees Fahrenheit), they are meant for viewing rather than bathing--hence their being called a "hell," not a "hot spring!"

Miyazaki

Yaoyorozu: "The myth of Princess Toyotama and Yamasachihiko exchanging love letters has been passed down in Aoshima, so there is a legend that if you send a love letter with this postbox, your love will come true." Kaminari: "Make a postcard for me right now, Yaomomo!" Mineta: "Make me a hundred! It's my lifelong wish!!" Yaoyorozu: "It's just one apiece for someone special..." Postboxes in Japan are red, so this one, called the "Yellow Postbox of Good Luck," is unique. The couple Yaoyorozu mentions are from the Kojiki and Nihon Shiki, which contain some of the earliest written records of Japanese myths and ancient history. Poor Kaminari... he just asked for one!

Kagoshima

Izuku (mumbling): "It's a well-known fact among fans that All Might loves Yakusugi--" Izuku (out loud): "I'm thrilled we can all go together!! Right, Kacchan!!?" Kacchan: "I... Yakusugi refers to cedars of at least a thousand years old on the island Yakushima, where there are dense coniferous forests with many old-growth trees. The most famous is the Jōmon Sugi, which is estimated to be at least 2,000 years old. Did Kacchan follow them on their tree tour, trying to not be noticed, and Izuku called him out on it~? Or did they companionably embark all together while he put up a grumpy front? Hee!

Okinawa Region

Unlike Todoroki's beloved mainland soba, which is made with buckwheat flour, Okinawa soba is made with wheat flour and is closer to udon noodles.

I like the idea that Ines can vaguely see shadows of the animals from E2 pictures with her Arts. For example, her own shadow is a goat, though it may look more monstrous, like Mephisto and his boss form. This makes it obvious how most "advanced" shadows would look for her (and also enable her to cheat if someone pretends to be another race), except for Sarkaz, who have a lot of subraces. So, I wanted to guess how her acquaintances would look through her Arts.

Hoederer - his Arts manipulates ashes, he doesn't seem to have a tail and his cape looks like stylized wings in his E2 art, so I headcanon that he is part Gargoyle. As such, his shadow looks like Stone Gargoyle relic from IS, but with more animalistic features seen on his E2 art.

W - this one is the least defined in my head, but I think it would be cool if she was based on fungi. A weird association, I know, but hey, she has no demon on her E2, so I can improvise! Her outfits remind me of Amanita (poisonous mushrooms with "skirts") - where I live we have brown and red variety, so it covers both her DM and later outfits. We also have some round fungi that "explode" when you step on them, and we all know how much she loves explosives.

Ascalon - she always reminded me of Salazzle, so I imagine her shadow as a slender reptile with horns. But, compared to the Pokemon, she has spikes and neck frill to mimic her IS relic and hood.

Paprika - she likes to knit, so an insect- or a spider-like shadow is an obvious choice. Moreover, her E2 demon aesthetically reminds me of Hollow Knight due to its scull appearance and low set eyes. So, I imagine it looks kinda like Hornet.

Patriot - I see his shadow as something like the Deer God from Princess Mononoke, particularly its Night-Walker form. He already has deer-like horns, and the "spikes" on his shadow represent other Wendigos he consumed in the past. I also like the idea that, when he is with FrostNova, they look like a bunny near trees.

Theresa - she looks like she is made from white crystals. It's a strange colour for a shadow, and Ines actually describes Theresa as "white" in DM. Moreover, maybe Sankta halos are also similar and it has something to do with empathy. Meanwhile, Theresis is a "normal" shadow crystal. Crystals just feel fitting for the rulers of the people who are especially prone to get Oripathy.

Tips for Dysfunctional Family Girlies Part 2:

1) Get your basics straight. Education. Boundaries. Financial independence. Further breaking it down and linking it if you get proper education at some point you are bound to get an awareness of this world, if you are able to adapt and improvise yourself and develop your emotional intelligence and get your boundaries straight you will save yourself a lot of unnecessary drama and problems. Education (formal and informal) both will help you in gaining opportunities and if you are financially independent, you are holding the power to make your own decisions.

2) Develop thick skin. Your mom is calling you names. Slut, whore and what not. Your dad doesn't trust you and abuses you physically. So, what now? Are you going to let them define what you are or internalize the anger and use it as a fuel to become successful? Choice is yours.

3) They say you don't owe an explanation to anyone. Sorry to burst your little bubble. Actually you do. We live in a society and have relationships that we need to maintain for survival. This hyper independent stuff is only good to read. We have responsibilities that we need to fulfill. If you don't owe an explanation to anyone then don't cry about a closure from someone too. If you can live by this go ahead and practice it.

4) Stop isolating yourself. That's it. That's the point.

5) First kill the fear inside you. Being a rebel outside the house is no good. Be disciplined. Know how to manipulate your family members in your favor and if you can't just find the weak points and threaten. I know it's difficult to implement but you learn through trial and error. Plus something is better than nothing.

6) Stop glorifying people who treat you with kindness and love. That's the bare minimum. Just because you didn't get it served in a silver spoon doesn't mean it is not served in a silver spoon. People can have ulterior motives and even if they don't fix it in your brain that's normal. No rose colored glasses allowed.

7) Don't be afraid of indulging in your sexuality. No I am not saying go and have sex with people. I mean it in a deeper sense. Connect with the repressed sexual side and try to find healthy outlets. Don't dim yourself to fit in others'expectations or to ease someone's insecurity. Be unapologetic about your wants and desires. Know yourself. It's a powerful energy source if you know how to use it positively.

8) Cry, cry and cry. Wail like a child. No need to keep it all in. No need to act like a macho woman BUT only in front of your god or your belief system. Max in front of your truly trusted people.

9) Question everything as easily as breathing. Doubt every thing. Every action. Every person. What proof do you have to not doubt ? Stop giving benefit of doubts. Stop looking for excuses on how they could be good and instead look for ways in which they can harm you. That's your lottery to be poised and composed. It's just what it is.

10) Obsession. We have it in loads. That's natural to us. So the trick here is to be obsessive. Hella obsessive but about things, topics, goals, subjects, inanimate things,etc. God forbid but never be obsessive about a person. Not even over your dead body. Why? For that I need to make another detailed post I think.

They released the concept art of Herrscher of Finality and honestly it feels so sad seeing it was scrapped (probably because of animation constraints).

The ash and smoke motifs representing her burning out as she nears the end of her story, after she was ablaze as the Herrscher of Flamescion.

Plus the smoke could be Honkai energy leaking out of her human body to show that as a person she's unable to contain it and it's such a burden.

But despite it all, the princess aesthetic shows that she's finally happy like the old days, and has reunited with her remaining loved ones. So while there is a sense of tragedy, there's still happiness.

It seems like they wanted to use this design seeing the teaser silhouette too.

The wings are beautiful too.

FAV WARRIOR CATS CHALLENGE

All these are mostly just headcanons, but I don't care. Here are why who

(DISCLIAMER ABOUT CROWFEATHER DESIGN- I am native myself! I gave them those feathers cause I love Crow and personally hc them as being Plains Cree (AKA MY own culture ), so its more of a nod to my own hcs. I know how important feathers are to Native people, and I wouldn't gave a feather to any character without reason. Hell, I have a eagle feather myself from my kohkom. So it is NOT for aesthetic purposes)

MOTHER + KIT- Leopardfoot & Tigerkit(claw)- I am a huge fan of Leopard, and I personally believe she is the originally Sparkpelt. She doesn't get enough love I swear to Christ-

Her and Tigerclaw's story feels like such wasted potential to me, it was just- super fast and she wasn't even MENTIONED in Tigerclaw's novella??? So in my own little head; she was a good mother to Tigerkit and did the best she could with what she got, and Tigerclaw loves her no matter what. I will make an entire post about her and how much I love her.

Their relationship is also realistic!! Leopard loves her idiot son but has fights with him a lot, which makes sense for a young single mom with a stubborn son

SIBLINGS- Cloudpaw, Fernpaw, and Ashpaw- FOSTER SIBLING LOVE YEAAAAAAAAAAH!!! The Erins had completely ignored the Cloudkit was fostered by Brindleface and saw Ash and Fern as siblings. I love seeing them as siblings; hanging out as apprentices and even having a kitten hunting party that shit cute as HELL

MLM SHIP- Black x Sol- the homos. That's all.

FATHER + KIT(S)- Fernsong, Bristlekit, Flipkit, and Thriftkit- I literally refuse to believe that Fernsong wasn't a den dad. Even if in canon he doesn't at all. No, he was a stay at home dad and made little heart sandwiches for his wife while she went hunting.

FRIENDSHIP- Sunbeam + Nightheart- I love these two friendship! Just some gal pals venting about their lives which is nice! I wouldn't even mind a romance, if they continue like this

(Also, yes, I am using she/her pronouns for Nightheart, transfem Nightheart for the win)

MLW SHIP- Crow x Squirrel- I have grown to LOVE this couple- the peppy redhead with the emo boy is a brilliant ship. They deserve the world.

GRANDPARENT + KIT(S)- Nutmeg + Princess's kits- This one is the most headcanony of em all. I didn't want to pick Sand/Alder (since they are super common in this) so i made up a headcanon on the spot that Nutmeg goes to meet her daughter's kittens once everyday and loves them to bits and pieces

MENTOR + APPRETINCE- Longtail + Swiftpaw- the most canon of these! I love the father role Long has with Swift, and always stand up for his son. Love them

WLW SHIP- Maple x Sparrow- OKAY THIS IS A SEROIUS RAREPAIR- I had a dumbass idea where Maple and Sparrow became Dark Forest BFFs then slowly fall in love and now are the queens of the Dark Forest
