#the saint #vendetta for the saint #itc #1969 #leslie charteris #jim o'connolly #john kruse #harry w. junkin #roger moore #ian hendry #rosemary dexter #aimi macdonald #george pastell #marie burke #fulton mackay #peter kristof #peter madden #guy deghy #charles houston #edward evans #malya nappi #eileen way #ooh we're really in the final stretch now. 1969! the show started in 1962‚ it had occupied most of the 60s by this point (a tumultuous and #culturally unique decade). here we hit the second two parter‚ coming quick after the first‚ but a very different fish: where the fiction #makers chose to go bigger‚ zanier‚ weirder (all laser beams and cartoonish villains‚ eccentric side characters and many #explosions) this second movie length outing instead takes a very standard Saint formula (he is sort of witness to a murder and so decides #to bring down the killer and mafia too) and just does it.. more thoroughly‚ i guess? takes advantage of the longer running time and what #was presumably a higher budget to simply add more spectacle to a solid Saint adventure. it works! this is pretty good! fancy location work #(at an actual location! the team shot extensively in Malta for this 2 parter)‚ a helicopter‚ car chases and gun battles. it's the series #finally realising what it's always wanted to be thanks to a last minute splurge of the coffers. pretty good stuff

Oates had a most trying time in caring for his

charges and rendering what help he could to

ameliorate their condition. Those of his shipmates who saw him in this gale will never forget his strong, brown face illuminated by a hanging lamp as he stood amongst those suffering little beasts. He was a fine, powerful man, and on occasions he seemed to be actually lifting the poor little ponies to their feet as the ship lurched heavily to leeward and a great sea would wash the legs of his charges from under them. One felt somehow, glancing into the ponies' stalls, which Captain Scott and I frequently visited together, that Oates's very

strength itself inspired his animals with confidence.

He himself appeared quite unconscious of any

personal suffering, although his hands and feet

must have been absolutely numbed by the cold

and wet.

literally in different dimensions by the end! they still have a lot of the hallmarks of "ohh endgame childhood best friends" or whatever but fma 2003 just said. naah. winry got the shortest end of the stick and i feel so bad for her!!! continuity specific straightbait. in every other universe they get married and have kids but screw you two specifically 🙏

maka and soul:

Throughout the series, they have a deep friendship with each other which is consistently extremely important to the story's narrative. In order for them to be able to fight, they must get along and resonate with each other, and due to the mechanics of their world, fighting independently of each other is extremely difficult. In multiple instances, they are shown to be willing to put themselves in harm's way to extreme degrees to keep each other safe. They are even shown to live together. They are The Singular Straight Ship I have ever shipped and I love them. Also they are really cool and Soul can turn into an awesome scythe weapon that like only Maka can wield. And they fight really awesomely together.
