Tumblr media
Bucky was an observer. It was something that was written in his bones, something he used to think was good when he functioned as a sniper in the 107th, something HYDRA loved in the assassin they had forced him to be, something he had grown to hate after he had gained some sort of control over his life. But now? Now, Bucky was observing something he could look at for the rest of his life, Y/N.
She had changed into a black cherry patterned dress covered by an oversized white cardigan which every once in a while would slip, exposing her shoulder. He was standing next to her, listen to her echoing voice as she pointed out several little things for his flat yet not listening at all. He was just so enamoured by her. The way her smile pulled at her cheek, how her nose would scrunch up as she picked vases and frames, showing it to him.
He could almost see gravity acting upon her, the way her hair bounced up and down. Her teeth bitting onto her lip as she studied the details of the bedding fabric. God, Bucky could just look at her and remain like that for ages. He could just follow her into the unknown as long as she held his hand, the touch of her thumb against his flesh hand, the softness her touch held. There was nothing sweeter, purer than her. He kissed her shoulder, nuzzling against the wool fabric of her cardigan.
Y/N smiling, moving her head slightly to kiss his forehead before returning to look at the choice of plates and other cutlery for his kitchen since it turned out he had none and had been living out of paper plates and plastic cutlery.
      - Do you like the white ones or the blue ones? - she asked, pointing at the two plates on the shelf.
      - Which ones do you like?
     - C’mon Bucky, I picked the frames so you have to pick the plates. It’s your house. - she crossed her arms playfully. - Pick one.
     - Listen, back in my day, we handed our plates from generation to generation. In my defense, I was not expecting to ever have to pick out a plate.
    - You cannot use the “I’m old” excuse for everything. Come on, blue or white?
    - Fine. Blue. - he grabbed the cardboard plate holder, putting a dozen plates in before adding the holder to the rest of the stuff on their trolley. - What’s next, princess?
     - Couch, bed, bedding, dresser and you’re lucky you have a built in wardrobe because I love the wardrobe portion of IKEA.
     - Don’t tell me I’m stealing one of the greatest pleasures of your life, my sweet princess. - he placed his hands on her waist pulling her in towards him, placing a small kiss to her nose. - Have I told you how lovely you look today?
    - At least five times. - she giggled like a little girl, leaning onto his shoulder for a little while before driving him towards the section were most beds were displayed. Bucky watched with a bit of bored wonder, yet he couldn’t help but not to want to be somewhere else, not when she was around looking excited about picking out something as mundane as a bed. He wondered, he wondered how she would look picking out furniture for her actually home, a home ... a home where she would live with him. Their own home, surrounded by a picket white fence with pink rose bushes and as much IKEA furniture as she could possibly want.
Their own home where she would paddle around barefoot in the mornings to meet him as he took his coffee, or maybe the house with the wooden floors she would walk in maybe someday pregnant. The perfect life, or at least that of what he had envisioned. At least the perfect life he had envisioned when he was younger, not tainted by his own actions. He wanted that life but the thing is, he no longer deserved it and as his sight got lost in the several beds on display. His mind couldn’t help but rush through wondering what picking furniture for his own house would look like, maybe she would be wearing the same dress, a bit tighter around her swollen stomach, his mum’s ring on her finger. Yet those were only delirious dreams of a man who hadn’t dreamt in more than half a century.
     - Are you alright? - she held his hand in hers, thumb caressing the rough skin it found. - You seem a bit dazed.
    - Yeah ... just distracted by the large mount of beds.
    - Are you sure you don’t want to sit down? We can stop if you’re not feeling well.
Bucky couldn’t help but smile at her worry, leaning down to softly kiss her again, unwrapping her hands from the trolley to hold his. He smirked through the kiss, leaning her down on the closest display bed to them, kissing down from her lips to her collarbones making her giggle.
   - No, I don’t think this is the bed. You should be moaning, not giggling.
   - That’s not how you pick a bed. - she tried to give him the best authoritarian look which failed as he hauled her to another bed. - You’re gonna get us kicked out.
   - I’m a senior citizen, they can’t kick me out. - he held her by her waist, moving her to another bed before leaning his head in the space between her neck and shoulder, biting her skin softly. - Hm, I think I like this one better. What do you think, princess?
   - I think we should try another one.
   - If you wanted a kiss, you could’ve said so. - he rolled so she was standing on top of him before moving his head up to kiss her. - I think this is the one.
   - Okay, we will grab one from the end.
She moved away from him, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, hot cheeks as the people who had stopped their shopping to look at them went back to their business leaving the two of them to their own. Bucky laughed at her embarrassment, getting up from the bed before kissing her forehead. The two of them continued to pick furniture until they reached the end aisle with all the packed and ready to go furniture. Bucky was the one to pick it, tossing it onto the trolley as if it weighed nothing. He felt comfortable living in this mundane system, looking at the people waiting in the queue while Y/N commented on furniture she would maybe want in a future house.
If he were crazy enough he would’ve suggested for her to get that house now, to just drop whatever stopped her from doing what she wanted and go for it yet she was probably still sensitive from this morning’s events. They paid for the furniture and loaded it onto the car driving back to his flat. She was excited, pushing some of his boxes to the middle of the floor to start unpacking them before assembling the bed and the other things they’d bought.
Bucky didn’t have much, it was mostly memorabilia, stuff that his mother had left behind and a hand full of clothing. He was a minimalist yet all his things seemed to hold immense value, specially the stack of photographs that had fallen onto her lap. She looked at him, he was too invested into assembling the couch to notice her, so Y/N started going through his photos.
They were mostly from his youth, a few polaroid shots from the 21st century mixed in but those which she was interested in were the ones where he was in uniform. He was a handsome man and that she already knew but there was this sort of mischievous, joueur de vie spark in his eyes as he posed with several women, Steve always somehow in the back.
    - What are you looking at? - Bucky sat down on the ground next to her, pulling her to his side before taking one of the photos from the ground. - I haven’t seen this in years.
    - You haven’t seen your own photographs?
    - The museum sent some over, I didn’t really felt like looking at them. No use crying over the past.
    - What about the new ones? - she held up one of Steve with a beer in hand laughing at whatever Sam was telling him. - Do you fancy yourself a photographer?
    - I like taking photos of mundane things. - he shrugged, looking through the polaroids scattered around the floor. - Normality amuses me.
    - I think your photographs are beautiful. - she gave him a soft smile, before sliding another photo into one of the frames. The actress grabbed another one from the pile; it was Steve laying in what looked like a hospital bed alongside Sam and Natasha with silly faces.  - What happened in this one?
Bucky’s throat dried up as she held up a photo up to him, curiosity sketched in her beautiful features but not even her softness could take away from how sunken his heart was at sight of the insignificant photo. It wasn’t his, probably had gotten mixed up but he knew why it was there. Steve had only been in the hospital after serum once and he had been the cause of it. There were scratches and bruises, a lip cut. This was Capitan America rendered hurt by him, the same invincible Capitan America. If Steve Rogers couldn’t be safe from him ... then why would she?
   - Bucky? - her voice was once again echoey as it was whenever he got lost in his mind. She put her hand on the hardwood floor, pushing herself up, letting the photographs on her lap flow to the ground. Her hand cradled his face, thumb caressing his scrub. - Can you breathe in for me? Please?
   - I’m not a baby, Y/N.
   - I know but you need to breathe in for me, okay? - her eyes were shimmery, thumb lining his limps. He gave in for her, melting under her touch and allowing air to slowly enter and exit his lungs. - You’re okay. You’re gonna be okay. I love you.
Other women had told Bucky they loved him. God, he had heard it perhaps too many times but coming from her, coming from her it seemed like love was her own creation and she had slightly opened her heart just for him. In all honesty, he didn’t care if she would ever say it back but now that she had, he just wanted to hear it again. It was everything and nothing at all at the same time yet the mention of those words only made him more scared. He could only picture her in the same situation and it made him out of breathe again, almost as if someone was pushing him into deep dark waters and all he could do was scream helplessly as the water filled his lungs while no one heard a thing.
She was however very still in her position, caring as she was and those thoughts that she would be eaten alive by her own passions came back to haunt him. Now both her passions seemed to lie in waiting to take a bite of her neck and leave her to bleed. He couldn’t shake that image out of his head no matter how hard he tried.
    - Hey, why don’t we go through the rest of the furniture and take care of the photos later. - she difused the subject before it could explode. - C’mon.
The rest of day of uneventful, mostly just the two of them making his flat look like a home and not a safety investment. By the time the clock hit 9PM, they had assembled all the furniture and added all the rest of their shopping to their due places. After eating Chinese take-out on his new rug while The Crown played on her laptop, they eventually went back to bed. The air was different, she could feel it, she could sense something off and for the first time since the two had fallen asleep together in the same bed she was the one awake. The white linen was draped over her shirtless chest as she looked at the old chandelier over her, her reflection light by the moonlight as she found sleep couldn’t spell her no matter how much she tried.
Her eyes were fixed on the cracked glass, watching her reflection shatered in different planes. The sleep didn’t seem to come and she remained wide awake until the sun rays broke through the cloudy morning sky, illuminating both her and him. Her hand hadn’t left him, feeling him toss and turn during the night so once the sun rose, he too awoke.
Almost like a mechanical move, he turned to check on her, finding her eyes looking back at his. Lazily, he kissed her forehead, pulling her to her chest, tucked under his chin before mumbling a good morning to her. Yet, no matter how much warmth he seemed to provide her, she still felt something off. Her suspicions were confirmed once her phone alerted her of a message.
She grabbed it from the bedside table, eyes rushing through the text before groaning, pushing the covers away from her legs.
   - Where are you going? - Bucky whined, raising his torso from the comfortable bed. He would never admit it, but it was much nicer to sleep in a framed bed than on the ground.
   - It’s my boss, he’s asking for me.
   - What does he want?
   - I would say probably something related to my flat’s incidence. - she bit onto her lip, grabbing her clothing from the door hook. - I’ll take a taxi, you can stay here.
   - I’m not gonna let you out my sight when someone broke into your flat, Y/N.
   - Yes but you need to finish unboxing your clothing and it’ll be really boring to wait in the car.
   - Y/N.
   - I’ll be fine. - she grabbed her shoes before going up to kiss him goodbye. Bucky didn’t even have the time to argue with her before she was out the door.
Truth was Y/N did not want him going. She knew whatever she was walking into would not sit well with Bucky and she didn’t want him triggered or disrespected by Mr. Hawthrone. She didn’t want him in his winter soldier thinking space and as such she walked straight into the crossfire the moment she entered the taxi.
She pulled at the skin of her nails as she sat on the office of her agency, watching as new talent came in and out. She bite her own lip at the same time, trying to appear tougher than she was when in reality she felt like shattering into a million pieces and as her name was called by his assistance, things seemed to beat faster.
Following the woman inside his office she found him sitting down in his chair, always the calm, stern man. It was almost as if nothing bothered him, he always had such a poker face no one could tell what he was thinking and Y/N in this moment wanted nothing but to be inside his head. He motioned towards the chair before opening his mouth to start speaking.
  - I’m glad to see you’re okay. - he started. - Although I must say I’m quite disappointed you didn’t call our team when it happened.
  - I thought notifying my bodyguard was the most appropriate thing at the moment, sir. - she replied, eyes downcast to her lap.
  - I was horrified to know what was written in your mirror. - he opened his draw to pull a white envelope, sliding it up to her. - Yet, I do believe there is some blame on you for this. It seems like the public, not to my shock, isn’t very happy with your current relationship.
  - I don’t think the public has anything to do with my relationship. - she opened the envelope to find paparazzi pictures of her and Bucky in less than professional settings. - Have you been following me?
  - I just bought them from the Sun. Clearly, we need to clean up your image to ensure you’re safe. Luckily for us, it’s mostly rumours, no photographs to confirm your affiliations with Mr. Barnes.
  - I don’t think my image is the problem, sir.
  - I think we need to clear up this whole Barnes mess. I have spoken with several of my male clients and they are thrilled about the prospect of maybe a PR relationship.
  - But I don’t need a PR relationship, I have a relationship.
  - You have a relationship with a man who half the world deems an assassin and traitor to his own country. That is not the image that we want for you and it’s clearly backfiring.
  - I made it clear when I signed this contract that I wasn’t gonna have a PR relationship. It’s just not who I am and ... and Bucky can defend me from whoever comes my way.
  - It is not up to you who decides what PR stuff is done or not. You are an investment, sweetheart and I will not lose money on you just because you refuse to act like a professional actress. I will have Ms. Olson send you a list of potential candidates and you will have your pick on my desk by tomorrow and that is an order.
  - I don’t ...
  - I think our meeting is done. - he twirled his chair, turning his back to her. She wanted to scream at him, shout that he didn’t own her and that he didn’t get to tell her what she should do in her bed or life. Yet, before she could even fight for an option she was escorted out the office by the same assistant before having a door shut on her face.
She remained in the middle of the waiting room, fists clenching onto the white envelope as she wondered what to do. What could she do? With that thought on her mind, she grabbed her phone from her purse.
  - Chuck? I need a favour.

white day | akaashi
Tumblr media
—pairing: akaashi x gn!reader
—warnings: swearing (that’s about it), unedited*
—synopsis: 2.6k | white day (noun)– a holiday celebrated in mostly asain countries that, if a man is given gifts on valentines, they have a chance to return the favor with a gift of their own.
Tumblr media
knock.
knock.
knock.
your hands shake as you retract them back to your side. holding a few more bundles of homemade chocolate in your arms. your figure is on high alert, anxious eyes frantically raking over the familiar carpets and doors of tokyo university dorm halls. it feels like a whole hour passes without a sign of life on the other end of the door. you nip at the bottom of your lip, is it really that late? he couldn’t possibly be asleep, right?
you should probably just leave. go and give the rest of the chocolates to the remaining of your friends then come back and check on akaashi later. it’s what your mind tells you to do but your feet are planted to the floor.
knock just once more, your heart whispers. you have about four more boxes to deliver after akaashi’s own. suddenly you’re caught between a crossfire against your mind and your emotions; deliver the others! one side screams, knock again! they other yells back.
you’re standing there for a good, minute or two when your eyes shot up at the white board half-heartedly hung to the door, “akaashi’s room” it reads… your palms flail against your legs, eyes downcast to the floor.
“akaashi… keiji,” the name leaves your lips in a wisp of sound. you can feel your heart skip a beat at the way it rolls perfectly off your tongue and then you smile. you’re beaming at the floor, slowly raising your head to stare at the creme colored door.
your eyes shine with an unknown confidence, your dominant arm lifts up meeting the cool surface of the door once again; knock, knock, knock.
you stand there for a while before the sound of the bathroom shower being turned off sets into the silence. well, at least he wasn’t ignoring me. you sigh in relief, the smile on your lips growing impossibly bigger.
seconds pass and the door is swinging open revealing the tall build of your very familiar classmate akaashi, “oh, hello (l/n).”
he’s dressed in casual clothes readying himself for sleep, you assume. a towel is in his hands, ruffling through his damp hair, “i apologize for keeping you waiting.”
his face is stoic, eyes blank and there isn’t even a smile one his pressed lips but you’re okay with that. you’ve known the taller boy long enough to know that casually showing physical emotions wasn’t his strongest point. so you smile, ignoring the quickening pace of your heartbeat.
“it’s totally fine, akaji!” you wave off, “i wasn’t out here long.” he nods, eying your figure before ultimately locking his stare on the boxes within your arms, “you seem like you need help with those boxes, (y/n).”
it’s not a question but you know what he means.
you lightly giggle at his words, “yeah, it does, doesn’t it? i’ll tell you what, do you know how you can help me with these boxes?” he shakes his head, his hair moving too. his genuine concern has butterflies ticking your insides.
oh god, you can feel your cheeks heating up already, “by taking that red box, right there on the top. you see it?”
he nods, reaching out for the one you described. slightly his brows furrow at the little card that dangles from the box, “to keiji, from (l/n) (y/n)” it reads. there are hearts that dot every “i”. he hums appreciating the details, “this one has my name on it.”
“yup,” you tease, “it’s yours, silly!” there’s a beat of silence that blanket the two of you. he stares at the box examining it’s every detail while you stare at him.
“happy— happy valentines day, keiji!”
you’ve been able to keep your cool for the most part. going to your crushes private dorm room and then giving him chocolates on the day of love is really gutsy! he could seriously reject the chocolate and shove it back in your face… it’s a thought that makes a chill run down your spine.
what if he rejects you?
the panic rises in your stomach. at first, it gets queasy and you can feel your arms slipping around the boxes. this isn’t even a romantic confession, it’s for friendship but what if he throws it on the ground? screams in your face saying the two of you aren’t even friends?
you hate this.
you listened to your heart before, staying put and waiting for the door to be open. you didn’t regret that much and you thank your emotional side because it made you take this risk but that’s the thing.
it’s a risk.
even with a somewhat good outcome, there’s always a bad one too. sometimes even multiple bad ones so without thought you move your legs forward taking quick steps away from the door, running.
“happy va– valentines, keiji! uh, enjoy the– the– chocolate!”
you can’t see or even hear if he does anything in response to your rushed and rather rude leaving. your heart sputters in your chest a million beats a minute. your palms flush against your heated checks (dropping some boxes as you do so but you could care less about that right now).
you hated that.
and you hate your feelings too.
Tumblr media
you find yourself thinking about that awkward incident a lot. and every time, your cheeks flare up in color and your stomach drops. since then you and akaashi haven’t had a proper conversation. there are times when you see each other in passing and make brief eye contact. you share a small smile and he nods in exchange for your greeting.
other times, like in when you’re out in about, there’s nothing. both too busy studying in the library, partying with friends, and making new ones to simply stop to start a conversation.
mornings are brief.
“good morning, (y/n).”
“oh– uh, good morning, akaji.”
as are the same with nights.
“have a good rest, akaashi.”
“you too, (l/n).”
it’s how your usual conversations are. it’s turned into the norm for the both of you, short. and you’re okay with that, honestly. at least minimal talking is better than him completely ignoring your existence, right? and it’s those kinds of positive (somewhat at least) reassurances that help you drift to sleep.
especially on nights right before another holiday. a holiday celebrating love one more, nights right before white day.
Tumblr media
your arms feel heavy and it’s not just from the work out you forced yourself to endure that morning. boxes upon boxes of gifts and chocolates pile in your arms. it’s a struggle to keep them all steady, but your managing— somehow. it completely flew over your head that today is white day! let’s just say that your mind was a tad bit preoccupied last night…
your classmates had all gotten you something, returning your affections on valentines day like true gentlemen. some made handmade gifts like and other’s opted for the easy way out with store-bought flowers or assorted chocolates.
the ding of the elevator pulls you out of your thoughts. at the same time, you let out a tense sigh, as much as you adored your classmates— all these gifts were going to fall soon. you take a step out of the lift, heaving the gifts.
there’s so much, you deadpan. if only someone could help–
“(y/n), would you like some help?”
oh god, you know that velvety voice anywhere. walking forward, the figure appears in your peripherals. his dark hair is the first thing you take notice of. the second is his hands reaching out to catch a fallen box.
“um, yea– yeah. that would be great if you could… help,” you curse at your stuttering. the young boy nods, as he stands in front of you. he takes a few boxes lessening your load, you awkwardly smile.
“thank you, akaji.” you nod, “my room is–”
for a split second, you see an emotion flash in his eyes. it’s much too quick to decipher. and it’s times like these when you wish you had the power to read minds because dear god, you’re nervous.
“i know where your room is, (y/n),” and then he’s off taking long strides towards your room that was coincidently near his. you’re following his steps, the air around you silent yet comfortable.
but despite your calm demeanor, your mind speaks your true feelings, why does he know where my room is? it’s no big deal! his room is right next to yours, of course, he knows where it is!
“we’re here,” his words break you out of thought. your eyes shoot up to his handsome face, tracing the outline of his lips before moving onto his eyes. akaashi is a piece of art. he’s by far the most good-looking boy in your class and the most thoughtful as well.
his passion for literature and how caring he is through words rather then actions makes your heart stutter and your stomach tumble.
he has so much power over you and he doesn’t even know it.
“(y/n), please unlock the door so we can go in,” did you just freeze up staring at your crush? god, how embarrassing! if he noticed your staring, he doesn’t say. your face flares up, cheeks a deep red it could rival tendou’s dye job! you rush to the door, unlocking it with a simple swipe before turning to your bed and dropping the boxes.
the pretty setter follows suit, although he’s a bit more tamed with his movements. your mind can’t stop reeling about what just happened. he caught you checking him out! what kind of person just openly does that to their crush?! you mentally groan, this is a disaster!
“thank– thank you, keiji. you can leave, now. if you like,” you don’t look at him. occupying yourself with sorting out the gifts you carelessly dropped onto your cushion. a minute passes and there’s still no movement in your peripheral. risking a chance, you look up.
the sight before you has you shocked.
akaashi looks down his handsome face downcast and his gaze is focused on a small box in his hand. the box is in the shape of a heart with a white bow tied around it. you’re not able to see his expression but judging from the sudden air of tension— it couldn’t be good.
“akaashi? are you… alright?”
there’s no response. his face turned away from you but his hand is extended. the pink heart lays in his hand. is he… giving this to you? the realization makes your knees wobble. you study him once more, your brows furrowed in confusion. his peachy skin has the slightest hints of pink on his cheeks and your almost glad that this intimate moment isn’t only affecting you.
maybe he likes you too, there goes your heart again… it’s white day, remember? reminds your logical side. shakily, you reach out your hand. fingers brushing over his slender ones as you grip the small box.
it’s featherlike against your hands.
what could possibly be inside?
your fingers working to undo the ribbon then lift the cover. you can feel akaashi’s dark eyes on you, no longer is he looking off to the side. you’re expecting chocolates or maybe even a small stuffed animal inside but– you’re even more surprised at the reveal.
it’s not chocolate or even a small gift but rather a small piece of paper nestled comfortably in pink strands of box fillers. you immediately recognize akaashi’s handwriting neatly scowled on the sheet, “look… up?”
and you do.
what you see is akaashi, unsurprisingly, but he’s not so far away anymore. instead, he’s right in front of you. his face merely inches away from yours, his cheeks still flushed. but he’s not looking away, no, in fact, his gaze seems locked on yours.
your heart is beating a hundred beats per second. everything is blurry and the only thing you can really make out is him. his rosy cheeks, his eyes that glimmer in the dim lighting of your room, the soft scent of citrus and fresh laundry. things that just scream; him.
and then he’s leaning forward.
lips pressed against your own in a soft pucker. instantly, your eyes flutter close getting lost in the feeling of his warm lips on yours. chills run down your spine and everything feels like it’s so much more. gently, his hand cups at your jaw guiding your mouth against his. sending your heart on a mini-rampage within your chest.
your hands fly up to his shirt fisting the fabric out of pure nervousness. you can feel his chest against your own and you wonder if his heart is beating as fast as yours…
he swiftly tilts his head to the side, deepening the kiss. his other hand makes amends running through the strands of your hair. white hot bliss burns in your veins as you let out a small gasp for air. feeling bold, he takes his chance of pressing his tongue into her mouth.
it was all so much. his scent, his lips against yours sending you to heaven, the goosebumps forming, your mind racing, your heart pounding.
you need air!
you abruptly lean back, hands no longer gripping his shirt but rather flattening out against him. immediately, his eyes shot open drinking in your flushed out manner. the two of you linger in that state for a bit. his eyes tracing every detail of yours.
cheeks pink and slightly sweating, eyes wide and mouth open panting for air. does this mean he likes you too? your mind’s racing, thought after thought piling over one another until–
“i’m sorry– i thought… you– i apologize for making you uncomfortable.”
uncomfortable?
his cheeks are tinged and lips glisten in the light, slightly swollen. his eyes are downcast focusing on the floor rather than yourself. his hands to his side fingering at the pockets of his pants.
he looks so dejected. so sad at the mere thought of your rejection. he looks like a child that got told they weren’t allowed to eat their favorite treat. his eyes don’t shine with the courage to meet your own anymore. it makes your heart drop, a small pout forming on your own lips.
you’re quick to explain your thoughts, “no keiji, i wasn’t– wasn’t uncomfortable at all… i just– everything was just so much.” his brows furrow in confusion. that certainly caught his attention real fast…
“i… don’t understand what you mean,” is his response. if it weren’t for the fact that he kissed you and you knew he returned your feelings than you probably would have been long gone by now. it didn’t matter if it was your room or not. the awkward tension was just too thick!
deciding to not beat around the bush, because if you knew anything it’s that akaashi isn’t one for making things complicated. you let out a playful sigh, “akaashi keiji, i like you. that kiss did not make me uncomfortable in fact it was the opposite of that. and i would not mind if you– you did it again.”
and nearly as fast as it appeared, your confidence ran right out the door. there’s a few seconds silence, you no longer stare at him but rather his sock covered feet. even if you knew he returned your feelings this is still beyond embarrassing.
“i like you too, (y/n). and i wouldn’t mind if we did again either,” almost at the same time you look up he’s pressing a chaste kiss on your plush lips. that same fluttering feeling erupts in your stomach and you can feel the heat rising up on your neck.
it’s then that you realize, you’ll never get used to kissing akaashi.

Masterlist ~ Going Through The Motions

Dean stood in the library leaning against a table. In his hand he held a frame with Y/n and himself making a goofy face at the camera.
He smiled bitterly, shaking his head. He couldn’t help but whisper to himself, “How was I such an idiot, to believe that you, out of all people, could ever love me?”
“Did you just say what I think you just said?”
Dean’s head snapped up in surprise to see Sam standing in the doorway.
“What do you mean?”
Sam rolled his eyes, “Really Dean? Really?” He walked closer, “The day she left to go on that hunt, she literally said ‘I love you,’ and you completely ignored her. Then, you never answered any of her texts or phone calls. And then, you track her down and tell her that she better not love you because then it would be awkward between you because you don’t feel the same way and that she is just going to leave anyway.” By now Sam stood directly in front of Dean, and was looking pretty annoyed.
Dean looked back down at the photograph, “I messed up, didn’t I Sam?”
“Big time.”
“Wait,” Dean looked up, puzzled, “how do you know what happened in the motel?”
“For one,” Sam deadpanned, “you asked me to grab snacks from the vending machine right next to her room. For two, she always leaves a window open so it’s cold enough for her to wear a sweatshirt. And three, you should know better than anyone that motel room walls are paper thin.”
The tips of Dean’s ears turned red. He tried to play it cool, but Sam could tell he was embarrassed.
“Can you read me the last text she sent you?” Dean asked meekly.
“Sure,” Sam pulled out his phone, “Uh, she sent the winky face with the tongue sticking out like three times.”
Dean stared at him blankly, “What? No, she didn’t send that.”
“Oh! You meant the day she left.” Sam started to scroll up on his phone. “Yeah she didn’t send that the day she left.”
“What other last text would there be Sam?”
“Uh the one I just read you that she sent yesterday?”
“Wait, what?!” Dean reached for the phone, “Just out of nowhere?”
Sam moved his hand out of reach, “No, she texts frequently.”
Dean rubbed his face with his hand, “You mean you’ve been talking to her for six months and haven’t even had the thought of telling me?”
“Well, she says that she’s tried to call you but you never pick up so...”
Before Dean could defend himself his phone rang. As soon as the name flashed on the screen Dean reached to try and ignore it before Sam saw it on the table. But it was too late.
Sam rolled his eyes as Dean fumbled with it, “And there you did it again.”
“I would just rather talk to her face to face, okay? Do you know where she is?”
Sam’s phone received a text, “Fifteen minutes away.”
“What!? Why!?”
“Did you forget my half birthday?”
The door opened loudly cutting off whatever Dean was going to say.
“Happy half birthday dear Samuel Gregory Winchester! Happy half birthday to you!” Y/n sang with a flourish as she entered the bunker with plastic bags in her hands.
“Hey! I thought you said fifteen minutes?” Sam rushed to take the bags from her.
“Well then it wouldn’t have been a surprise!”
Sam laughed, “You’re too good to me,” he bend down to kiss her cheek which she received with a smile.
Y/n rummaged through the bags that Sam had placed on the table in the library, “So I picked up some take out from that noodle place a couple towns over...” She pulled out boxes, “Alright, so for Sam I got extra veggies, for Dean Matthew Winchester I got extra meat and super saucy, and for me, whatever the heck I wanted.”
Dean caught the box Y/n slid over to him, “Pretty sure those aren’t our middle names.”
“Your middle names are whatever I damn well want them to be.”
Dean swallowed quickly and turned to eat his noodles.
Conversation started up between Sam and Y/n, but Dean mostly stayed quiet.
“So you’ve been doing okay out there? On your own?”
Y/n smiled and Dean couldn’t help but stare.
“Yeah, it’s been great. Had a couple of ghosts, a pretty bloody vamp case. Nothing too serious or difficult, but it’s been good to get on the road again.”
“And…?” Sam tried for a bit more information.
“Yes Sam. I know why I’m still doing this.” She tilted her head to the side with a roll of her eyes.
A couple of hours later Y/n stood from the table saying she should leave.
“It’s getting late, why don’t you stay the night?” Dean spoke up.
Y/n placed her hand over his on the table, “Dean Conrad Winchester, I appreciate the offer, but I have an appointment I have to keep.”
Dean nodded.
She gathered up her fewer belongings then what she walked in with and headed towards the door. She stepped out the door, but stuck her head around the door frame, “Bye! Love you!”
Sam waved, “Love you too!”
Dean froze. Again.
Before he knew it the door was firmly shut behind her.
“I just messed up again.”
“Yeah, yeah you did.”
A week went by and surprisingly he hadn’t gotten a call from Y/n. She usually called once a week. He noticed, of course, but he just couldn’t push himself to answer. There was some part of him that worried that him not answering would lead to her downfall. What if she was hurt and in desperate need of help? But every week the phone would ring again, and his tension eased, but still he wouldn’t pick u the phone.
This time. This time he told himself that he would answer.
But the call never came.
That made him worry.
He left it be for a few days, but eventually he couldn’t wait anymore. He had to talk to her. He had to make sure she was okay.
So he packed a bag, asked Sam where she said she was, and drove off. Luckily she was only a days drive away. He arrived at her motel in the evening when it was just getting dark. All he could think about was how he was going to have a do-over. He knocked on the door and waited for a minute. Nobody answered so he pulled out his lock pick kit, he made quick work of it and entered the room.
He saw her clothes bag next to the bed and all of her research spread on the desk. The rest of her gear wasn’t in the room so she must be out hunting. Dean decided that he would wait for her to get back to talk to her, but he paced around the room for about five minutes before he couldn’t wait any longer. He’d waited for over a year to tell her, a whole six months going to waste without her, he needed to talk to her as soon as possible.
He rummaged through her research to see that she was hunting a werewolf. She had a map of the area with a red circle placed in the local woods.
So that’s where he was headed.
He drove down a dirt road until he came upon a car that he knew too well. Y/n’s car was also a classic and she loved it almost as much as he loved his own. He pulled up behind it and got out to try and find her in the dark woods.
He must have been hiking for an hour following tracks, both human and not when he started to hear the cracking of brush. He abandoned the tracks and followed his ears, seeing if he could head off whatever was running. His gun, loaded with silver bullets, was drawn as he ran, keeping his eye out in case of a target.
It didn’t take long for him to see the werewolf crashing and weaving between the trees. He took aim and took a shot. To his surprise he heard a second shot so close in timing to his own that he didn’t know who shot first. Once he saw that the monster didn’t rise again he looked to his left to see Y/n panting with her gun pointed at the body.
Dean didn’t take his eyes off of her as he stalked to her position. She only looked up at him when he was a few feet away.
She spoke with a quiet exhaustion, “Hi.”
“Hi, I love you.”
Her only response was a shocked blink.
He took a step closer, “I love you.”
She looked up through her sweat soaked lashed, “Say it one more time.”
Dean then put his gun away which made Y/n realize she still had hers in her hand as well and put hers away. Once Dean had both his hands free he took a half step closer and traced her shoulders gently.
“I love you.”
Y/n licked her lips, “I love you too.”
Dean’s hands then found her waist and pulled her close. He dipped his head to meet his lips to hers. At first he thought he would be gentle, but once he felt her, he couldn’t help but push a little harder. Sooner than he would have liked Y/n pulled away with a gasp which reminded him that she had just been running from a werewolf.
She licked her lips again which made Dean want to kiss her even more. She smiled slyly before saying, “You could have called.”
Dean matched it, “But if I called I couldn’t do this.”
He brushed his nose along the underside of her jaw, leaving warming breath on her neck. He left soft kisses as he trailed his nose to her ear. He walked her backwards, carefully making sure neither of them tripped on the thick bushes. He eventually made his way back to her lips. Once he got there Y/n hooked her arm around his neck to make sure he didn’t go anywhere. Her fingers softly traced his jawline subconsciously as her other hand gripped his shirt. This drove him on to quicken his pace to press her against a nearby tree.
Once her back hit the trunk she arched into him with a gasp and twisted out of the kiss. She winced and Dean looked down at her in confusion.
She twisted to look at the tree which shifted Dean’s eyes to see a jagged knot right where he pushed her.
Dean pulled Y/n close and buried his face in the crook of her neck and kissed her there. “’m sorry.”
She ran her fingers through his hair as he traced her spine with the tips of his own.
“It’s alright.”
They stayed like that for a minute, just feeling each other, holding each other.
Dean was the first to lift his head, “We should head back.”
Y/n kept her eyes closed, “’mkay. We should burn the body though.”
“We can do that in the morning.”
“Sounds good to me.”
They started to walk back towards the dirt road and their cars, arms linked around each other as they went.
“Besides, your motel room looks pretty cozy.”
Y/n bumped her hip against him, “Dean Lawrence Winchester, you are such a creep.”
“Please stop doing that.”
Y/n gave him a smug smile, “You love it.”
“I love you.”
“I’m never going to get tired of hearing that.”

Lovely Boys [Chapter One]
Summary: Janus and Logan are both in love with Remus, it’s just a matter of who can convince Remus of their feelings first.
Trigger warnings: NSFW, real hardcore insecurity, not the healthiest habits, rough sex, being caught (kind of, they’re not walked in on), mention of abusive and negligent past exes who neglected proper BDSM rules, some very rude degrading self talk, sl*t as an endearing term
Genre: Hurt/Comfort smut (Sub Remus, dom Logan, switch Janus), intruloceit
Written by: Virgil & Claire

A/N: This is completely written, so unlike Sweet On You, the whole thing should be posted relatively quickly/consistently lmao. We set out to write a quick one shot and then wrote an angsty 40 pages. ~Virgil
Remus fell in love with Janus the moment they moved in together.
He walked through the door with his arms loaded with half-closed luggage, and when he saw the man standing in the kitchenette, he realized what a mistake he had made responding to the ad. He was thin, with vitiligo paling his otherwise tan skin. His hair was dyed yellow, with floofy bangs that hung in his gray eyes.
Without looking back, Janus hummed softly. "Hello, you're certainly not welcome… Come in and put your things down? You would be Remus, I presume."
Remus cleared his throat and tried not to stumble over his words. “Yep!” He kicked the door shut and dropped his luggages with a loud clatter. “Yeah, that’s me, Remus. You’re, uh, you’re not Janus, are you?” Surely this was Janus’ super hot boyfriend— Not someone Remus had to converse with regularly without imagining him… Just, never mind.
"I am… I hope you weren't expecting a female…" A frown crossed his face as he turned, showing black painted nails as he tapped his cracked lips. "That would be unfortunate indeed."
Remus coughed. He was, actually. “That’s not the problem here,” he said cheerfully, quickly averting his gaze from Janus’ nails, his mouth. “The ad sure didn’t warn me I’d have to be able to withstand sexy roommate syndrome.”
Surprised laughter bubbled from his lips as he leaned on the counter. "Oh, my… You're quite a charmer, aren't you? At least you didn't run. I promise not to bite unless asked~?"
Remus shuddered. “Which way’s my room?” He squeaked. Don’t pounce your new roommate. Real shitty first impression.
Waving him to follow, he labeled the rooms, opening Remus' door for him. "I do hope you're not afraid of snakes, or the gays~?"
“Snakes?” Remus grinned and bounced after him. “You have snakes?!”
Nodding, he smiled. "I shall introduce you after you unpack and we eat dinner?"
Remus flushed dark red. “You want me to eat with you?” His voice came out a little more subdued.
Janus nodded with a frown. "Yes? It's rather important to me to make sure people I know are taking care of themselves— Just ask the debate team! I bring snacks and water to every practice debate."
“Well…” Remus straightened up with a grin. “Then I’ll help cook!”
Remus rushed back to the front door and grabbed one of his overstuffed suitcases, which had bursted open upon impact, and dragged it towards his room. Dirty laundry, lewd comics, and crinkled sketchbooks trailed behind.
Picking up after him, Janus nodded. "That sounds entirely doable…. Split the food budget and alternate dish duty then?"
“Mhm!”
Remus got all of his shit into his room, and throughout dinner, he had somehow managed to not slobber all over everywhere staring at Janus. He wasn’t… Entirely prepared for his roommate to be so hot and so gay. So he had fallen pretty fast, and then tucked away any notion of his feelings being returned. For safety.
That was pretty simple, until he met Logan.
Frowning softly, Logan nearly ran over someone in the sidewalk, stumbling and holding his bag. "Terribly sorry… Do you know where 241 is?"
Remus brightened up. He’d had a pretty shitty morning, what with walking into the kitchenette to find Janus shirtless and somehow Remus spilled hot bacon grease on him, but this boy was extremely cute. Any excuse to get his mind off the embarrassment!
“I sure do!” A predatory grin slid over Remus’ face as he squinted up at him, the sun in his eyes. “Headed there right now, why don’t I escort you and keep you safe from all the assholes headed that way?”
"A capital idea indeed… Would that indicate that you are also taking anatomy lab at this time?" Falling into step with the smaller boy, a small smile tugged at his lips. He's too cute… That streak in his hair, the mustache. I want to know how that would feel. Oh, dear.
“Mhm!” Remus’s cheery voice, and his arm wrapping around Logan’s, broke him out of his daze. “Right now and later tonight if you’re up for it!”
Blushing, he nodded. "Perhaps… See if you can keep up with me as a lab partner and then we can see if you're still up for more~?"
Remus looked up in surprise. His shitty pickup lines never worked! He laughed a bit. “Are you shitting me?”
"If you are truthfully asking and can put up with my, admittedly very dominating, personality, I see no reason to not try at least a one night arrangement. Unless you were joking and are in fact straight?" He tipped his head gently with a smirk.
Remus shivered in excitement. When was the last time he was dommed? He ruffled Logan’s hair and giggled. “I can handle you if you can handle me!” He yanked him into class, picking the seat next to Logan and glaring at anyone who tries to sit near them.
Laughing lightly, Logan hummed, setting up his workspace carefully and nudging Remus to do the same. "Focus, show me how well you take direction. Think of it as an interview for the position you desire~?"
Remus grinned. It was the slyest, shittiest way anyone’s ever convinced him to do his classwork, and he loved it. He couldn’t help going home that day with the biggest grin, rushing around to make sure everything’s ready for Logan’s arrival.
Logan had a bounce in his step as he collected some supplies before coming over at precisely the time they had discussed, knocking.
Remus threw the door open with a manic grin. “My roommate won’t be home for a few hours,” he said as he grabbed Logan by his shirt and yanked him inside. “Do what you will with that. Bedroom’s this way.”
Chuckling, Logan tugged Remus around to stroke his face. "Mmm, then shouldn't you kiss me, Rem~? Show me how much you want to study with me…"
“Anything you say,” he whispered, and shoved their mouths together.
Remus hadn’t kissed anybody in a long time— Several years, in fact. He was probably sloppy, and not the best, but he enjoyed it and fully intended on making it up to Logan with his… Obedience.
Sighing, Logan took him into his hand, guiding their kiss to press him into the nearest wall, encouraging his mouth to open and humming appreciatively at the taste of mint. Remus whimpered softly. He almost wouldn’t mind just doing this until Janus gets home. Logan was more commanding than Remus had really expected, manhandling him around exactly how he wanted, and the way he kissed is nothing short of wonderful.
Slowly pulling back, Logan cupped his face with a soft look. "Such a good boy for me… Show me to your room, I want to see all of you, my dear. Tell me your safe words, hmm? Also, you preferred term of endearment while you are mine~"
Remus groaned and nearly buckled. “Slut,” he said instantly. “And, uh, colour system. This way.” He tugged Logan into his room with shaking hands. It was cleaner than usual, but Remus was still Remus, and there was clutter spread about that he simply hadn’t thought of until then.
Chuckling, he hums. "Perfect… my little slut~!" Giving another deep kiss in praise, he gently spanked Remus' ass. "Put some music on and strip for me, show your dom what he's working with~"
Remus hurried to plug his phone into his speakers with an excited grin.
Sitting on the bed, he hummed. "Make me want that ass more, my slut… "
Remus stripped for him, and it wasn’t exactly a tease so much as it was Remus impatiently tugging off his clothes and looking at Logan with wide, validation-seeking eyes.
Sliding his legs apart, showing the erection tenting his pants, Logan crooked his fingers. "Good boy… Help me out of my pants and you can suck me as a treat, my lovely one… I'm finishing in your sexy ass, though~ "
Remus bounded over and knelt between Logan’s legs, impatiently tugging at his jeans. He got them down to Logan’s knees, yanked his boxers down as well, and ducked down to take Logan into his mouth.
"Oh~!" Fingers tangled in the surprisingly soft hair, he moaned out. "Fuck, Remus~! Such a good little slut, aren't you~"
Remus whimpered around his cock, wanting to respond but not daring to pull off. Instead, he pushed deeper, taking all of him.
"Yes, you are… Swallow too, Rem… Want to fuck your throat~" Tugging at his hair, he guided the motion to slowly fuck his mouth.
Remus moaned happily and swallowed every few seconds, though mostly drool dripped down his chin. He let his mind float off, gripping Logan’s hips. Had he ever been in subspace before? He didn’t think so.
Humming, Logan grinned as Remus relaxed, taking over completely to fuck into his throat. "Such a good little slut… Earning a treat before the main event~"
Remus mumbled something unintelligible around Logan’s cock, eyes rolling back.
"Tap once for yes, two for no… Your mouth is full~!" Taking him deeper, he hummed, cutting off Remus' air a little more. Remus gagged and rubbed his cock against the blankets, hips stuttering. He tapped hard, once. Logan grinned, thrusting faster. "Going to cum for master, my slut~? Only after I feed you the treat you've earned… Master cums first unless you have permission~!"
Remus whined and tapped along Logan’s hips in two-tap intervals, hips hunching.
"You beg so prettily… How can I refuse~? Cum for me, Remus~ " Using his mouth and throat, he moaned out, watching Remus fall apart.
Remus sobbed out as he came, nails digging into Logan’s hips. He didn’t pull off, as much as his throat spasmed and his back ached.
Stroking the soft hair, Logan moaned, tugging to warn Remus as he came hard. "Oh, fuuuuck~"
Remus inhaled sharply and nearly choked, but forced himself to swallow it down with watery eyes, his cock already hardening back up.
Petting him in apology, Logan moaned out, "Sorry, my slut… Couldn't hold back with the way you came apart for me~!"
Remus leaned into his pets with a little whine. “It was good,” he rasped, “I liked it.”
Stroking Remus' face, he wiped away the tears, encouraging him up to his lap. "I'm glad… "
Remus kissed him sloppily, hands rested on his chest. “Need you, master,” he mewled.
Kissing back, he grinned, petting the wiggling sub. "Mmm, let me get a condom and finish stripping as you present for me, sweetie… I'll let you pick whether you see me or I take you from behind~"
Remus bounced out of his lap with an excited giggle, flopping onto his tummy and tucking his knees underneath him. It was the best position he’d ever tried— He’d never felt anyone deeper.
Logan laughed as he saw the plug, giving Remus a squeeze. "Good boy… Do you always wear the plug or is that special for tonight~?"
He flushed deep red. He’d honestly forgotten he had it in… “Mostly just for tonight, but, um… Sometimes, you know…”
Nodding, he stroked the amazing ass presented to him, sliding on a condom and kneeling up. "You need to feel full, claimed? It's okay, my slut…"
Remus clenched and forced up a manic grin to push away the tightness in his chest. “Nah, I’m just a cockslut! Get going?”
Humming, he slid his cock over Remus' crack, teasing the plug as he tugs his hair to pull him into a kiss. "Mmm, it's okay if it's both, Rem… I'm definitely down for this to be a repeatable event if you are~ "
Remus can’t help it slip out, in a pathetic little whimper: “I’ve been that good?”
"Yes, Rem…. so good~" Removing the plug as they make out, he pressed in slowly.
Remus whimpered and buried his face in the pillows. “Ah… Yes, master, so good!”
Kissing at Remus’ neck, he took the slim hips with a moan, slowly bottoming out and starting to thrust. "So good for me, my pretty slut~! Oh, Remus~ "
“Master!” Remus cried out, thrusting back against him. “Master, harder!”
Growling, he nipped at Remus' neck, thrusts speeding as his fingers tighten on Remus' hips, bucking into him wildly. "Fuuuck, oh yesss… take my cock, slut~!"
Remus’s legs fell open and he sobbed into the pillow, coming without warning with a little shout.
Nipping his ear, Logan growled, fucking him through the high without pause. "Mmm, that good, hmm~? Break for me, slut… Shout my name for the entire building to hear~!"
“Logan!” He whined, squirming and gripping onto the sheets. “Ah, Logan, please! Too- Too much!”
Bending to press deeper, Logan chuckled in his ear. "Unless you use a color you will take it exactly as I give it to you, slut~!"
Remus let out a high whine and thrusted back into him wildly. “I’m sorry, master!”
"That's a good boy~! Submit to your master, slut… " Working him to that edge again, he eased back when he felt those clenches. "You're mine for as long as I desire to give you my cock and attention~!"
Remus drooled on the pillow as he took Logan’s cock, whimpering. He’d lay himself out for Logan every ten minutes if he asked him to. He realized with a deep fear settling in his stomach that he would do absolutely anything for Logan, just to keep him around.
Nuzzling his neck and shoulders, Logan spanked him. "Stay in the now even when you're floating, slut… focus~!"
“Sorry,” he gasped, “I’m sorry, master!”
Taking a moment to kiss his ear, Logan hummed. "I know…. Just don't want to lose you to the past or bad thoughts… Stay here, feel good with me, Rem~!"
“Yes, sir! It’s so good! Can I please come again, please please?”
Grinning, he sped his thrusts again. "Clench for me, make me cum and you can cum with me, Rem~"
Remus clenched down with a whimper, the pillow under his face soaking wet.
Moaning out, Logan thumbed him open wider, watching him take his cock deep. "On three, pet…. One… Two…" Remus gasped and fought desperately to hold on. Pressing in deep, he slammed against Remus’ prostate, and came with a moan. "Three~"
Remus came with a sob and a shout of Logan’s name and title, pressing his face deep in the pillow.
Janus paused with his hand on their front doorknob. Logan…? Is that Remus?!
Logan moaned out and grinned, burning the noise and feeling of Remus coming, laid out under him, into his memory as he filled the condom. He kissed and marked Remus up, hips slowly moving to ride the high. "Oh, gods! Remus, such a good boy~"
Remus moaned brokenly, his knees giving out to leave him flat on the mattress. “Master,” he managed.
Logan stroked Remus' face and tipped it for a kiss, shifting their positions to settle him in his lap after pulling out and discarding the condom. "Good boy, such a good boy… So proud of you! Show master where the water is, sweetie?"
“Kitchen,” he mumbled, blushing bright red at the praise. “You can just leave me at the table, I can take care of it.”
Frowning, he shook his head, picking him up for more cuddles and heading for the bathroom instead. "No… You're worthy of aftercare, my dear one…"
“What?” Remus buried his face in Logan’s shoulder. “You don’t have to. I can handle it.”
Petting him with a hum as he filled a glass, he smiled. "Remus… Look at me? I would be a terrible dom of I EVER left a sub without aftercare… and I am not that kind of person. You are worthy, and you were such an amazing boy for me!"
Remus covered his face. “Thank you, master,” he whispered.
Nuzzling, he smiled. "You're welcome… Show me your face, dear? You need to drink some water…"
Remus obeyed, drinking all the water Logan gave him. He didn’t realize how dry his throat was.
Stroking his cheek, he smiled, refilling the glass and offering it again. "Good… More. Relax into me, sweetie… Enjoy the care…"
Remus had never had aftercare before. He decided he enjoyed it. “Yes, sir,” he mumbled, sipping some more water. Then, as quietly as possible, “I’m hungry…”
Nuzzling, he smiled. "In a moment, dear…" Taking a cloth, he dampened it, cleaning them up a bit. "I know you said your roommate was unlikely to return, but… at least a blanket for you?”
“He’s seen me naked before. I sleep naked, and sleepwalk.”
Chuckling, he nuzzled lightly. "Mmm, for me then? Warmth and softness feels good as you come back to earth after a session, dear."
“Yes, sir.” He blushed and nuzzled back into him. “Anything you want.”
Heart clenching, he sighed. "You're so sweet…" Lifting again, he carried Remus back to retrieve a blanket, making him into a burrito. "Tell me what you're hungry for?"
“Waffles,” he said instantly. “I have frozen ones in the freezer. They’re blueberry.”
Nodding, he scooped Remus into his arms after slipping his boxers on, missing the sound of the other bedroom door shutting carefully. "Waffles it is, then. Butter, syrup? Perhaps some time I can make you fresh ones~?"
“We don’t have a waffle maker,” Remus said sadly.
Humming, he lifted his chin. "Ah, but I do… That was an invitation to my place, for next time~"
He lit up. “Okay!” He grinned and pecked his lips. “Sure!”
Kissing back softly, Logan laughed, and got started making the waffles. "Wonderful! You're entirely too precious to be just one night… "
Remus sniffled and forces his grin to stay up. “No… You’re probably just desperate.” He laughed. “I’m an easy fuck, you don’t have to pretend I’m not!”
"Remus…" Cupping his face, he sighed. "Was it easy to see that we had a common interest in hooking up, yes… However, I also admire your keen mind. I was attracted right off the bat, but I would like to see more of you. As friends, or friends with benefits, or more if that's where the path leads us…"
Remus’ grin faltered as he met Logan’s eyes. It took all he has not to burst into tears— What a shitty, pathetic way that’d be to end their night. “Do you wanna… Sleep over?”
Gathering him into a hug, he smiled. "If your roommate is okay with it, sure. How about a movie night and cuddles?"
He grinned. “I have a lot of movies! I’m sure Jan-Jan won’t mind, he’s super laid back.”
Arching an eyebrow, he chuckled. "Must be if he lets you call him that… But I have an idea that you'd call him nicknames even if he said not to?"
Remus pouted. “Nicknames are my love language.” He hesitated, fiddling with his fingers. “Do you… Not want me to call you nicknames?”
Humming, he lifted Remus' face. "Don't magnify my fond tease to an expression of dislike, Rem… I don't mind one bit!"
Janus listened near the door of his room, debating on going to the kitchen as his stomach twisted into knots. What is this feeling… Jealousy, but of whom?!
“Okay,” he mumbled with a cute smile. His stomach growled loudly.
Chuckling as the toaster sprung the waffles up, he stole a kiss. "Now… Butter, syrup, or both… And yes I will be cutting them up and feeding you while you sit on my lap, my pretty little one!"
He blushed bright red. “Y-yes, sir… Both, please…”
Logan slathered them up, cutting them for him as he slid Remus over into his lap. "Looks good, hmm? Open up!" Remus opened, hands rested on Logan’s chest. Logan smiled as he fed him gently. "Such a good boy!"
“No,” Remus whined. “Nuh-uh.”
Kissing his cheek, he smiled sadly. "Why not?"
Remus looked away with a little shrug. “You’ve seen it.”
Tipping his chin back to feed another bite, he hummed. "Pretend I'm an idiot. Explain to me why you're not a good boy deserving of praise?"
Remus hesitated. “Do I have to?” He asked in a small voice.
"No, you don't have to… I'm too curious for my own good sometimes." He stroked Remus’ cheek. "However, if you want to talk about things, I will listen. I’ll try to make you feel better."
For the millionth time that night, Remus could cry. “Shut up,” he mumbled with a sniffle.
Smiling, he cuddled Remus close. "It is okay to use me as a literal shoulder to cry on, Rem… No judgement."
“I don’t need to cry,” he insisted.
Breathing out, Janus decided to make his presence known, stepping into the kitchen as if summoned by the lie. "Whyever wouldn't you? Crying is healthy and a good release…"
Jumping a little, Logan cleared his throat. "Indeed…" Janus is his roommate? Oh, gosh.
Remus’ heart dropped. “Jan-Jan? When- How long have you been home?” His skin crawled in embarrassment. The dried tears still stuck to his face from earlier, wrapped in a blanket, and sat on a boy’s lap… He probably looked pathetic.
Smiling, Janus stroked his hair lightly. "Mmm, if you're asking if I heard you two making friends… I did… I'm a tad jealous, he's cute…"
Logan blushed softly. "Remus is adorable indeed…"
Remus’ face turned bright red. He buried his face in Logan’s shoulder. “Sorry, Janus… We wouldn’t have been so loud if we knew you were home.”
Logan pet him softly, embarrassed, but chose to focus on Remus, helping him hide.
Janus sighs softly, flushing lightly. "Remus… It's okay. Truly.” Then, he mumbled, “It covered up my moans nicely…"
Remus blinked. “Huh?”
Logan chuckled. "I believe we gave him, uh, motivation to touch himself, my dear…."
Janus nodded, blush deepening. "The nerd's right… "
It didn’t quite compute in Remus’ head, until he forced it to make sense with a nod. “Logan is a really good dom, isn’t he?” He blushed and looked up at Logan. He was so handsome, and hot, and commanding… He didn’t blame Janus for wanting him, too.
Janus resisted the urge to facepalm. "He did seem to elicit quite a reaction from you…" Damnit, you dense man! I wanted to be him, not fuck him!!
Logan laughed softly. Oh my… Janus has a crush on Remus…
“He made me waffles,” Remus said with a delighted grin. “And he’s been really sweet afterwards… If you two hit it off, maybe he can make you feel good, too, Jan-Jan! Have you ever had aftercare before?”
“You- You’ve never had aftercare before?! How?!” Janus tripped over his words, looking over Remus and stroking through his hair. “We can get a waffle maker… Do you want more?”
Logan muffled a laugh, stealing a bite before offering Remus more. "I know, right? I want to find those negligent doms…"
Together they finished with a low growl, "-and beat some sense into them!"
Remus, startled, looked between the two of them and wilted. “Is it… A common thing?” He managed.
Cuddling Remus, Logan nodded. "It is supposed to be… As it was explained to me, a dominant partner takes the power gifted by the submissive to make their scene reality, but aftercare is the return of that power?"
Janus nodded. "It also gives the pair time to relax, make sure that both are okay? Especially if there was a lot of degrading language or impact play, sometimes a dom needs reassurance that they didn't go too hard, and the sub is truly okay."
Remus nodded slowly. He wanted to explain that he didn’t need that, not really… But he didn’t want to. He yawned and curled into Logan’s chest, nuzzling up under his chin.
Smiling, Logan petted his hair and offered another bite of waffle. "Even if you think that you don't need it, it's a good thing for both scene partners, Rem."
“Mm,” he mumbled. “Jan-Jan, we were gonna watch some movies, do you want to join? You don’t have any early classes tomorrow, do you?” Remus glanced at the clock. It was getting close to 11.
Janus hummed thoughtfully. "I have a ten o'clock… But I think one movie would be alright."
“Yay!” Remus doubted he could even stay awake for longer than one movie, so that was perfect. He nuzzled into Logan again then stood on wobbly legs, and nearly fell over.
Logan chuckled and scooped him up with a soft kiss. "I think I broke your legs, Rem~!"
He giggled and blushed, looking over at Janus. “Whoops.” This is so embarrassing… What does Janus think of me now?
Janus snorted, reaching over to stroke Remus' cheek. "It is a good look on him…. Being cared for. Just relax, Remus… I'll make sure he doesn't do anything stupid."
If Remus could blush brighter, he would. Since moving in with Janus, he had seen every form of not-self care Remus took part in, ranging anywhere from unhealthy meals, skipping classes, and degrading comments about himself. Janus always made a fuss, but Remus didn’t think he meant it that strongly.
Nodding, Janus grabbed a blanket and the remote, working with a blushing Logan to get them settled with Remus in the middle, draped over Logan's chest. "Indeed… you just lay on me and relax, Rem…"
“Yes, sir,” he breathed before he could really think about it, eyes fluttering shut as he snuggled into Logan’s chest.
Logan's heart squeezed as he kissed Remus on the head, not noticing Janus frown in jealousy. Why is it him that gets you to relax and take my advice on care… Remus, why not me?!!
Remus only lasted halfway through the movie before passing out, little snores blowing out his mouth.
Janus inspected his nails, refusing to let his anger seep into his hushed voice as he asked, “So I assume you guys are dating now?”
Stiffening, Logan finished tucking Remus into bed and turned, voice cold and hushed. "Shall we discuss in the living room so we won't disturb him?"
Janus rolled his eyes but obeyed, leading Logan into the kitchenette and starting on a mug of coffee.
Following after retrieving his clothes and dressing, Logan took a mug and sipped. "We hadn't discussed anything like that… And I don't think he's ready. He was certain that this was a one night hookup and that I would leave after. I intend to work up to at least friends with benefits, but I assume you want him as well?"
Janus stiffened. “Remus is my best friend, nothing more. Wouldn’t dating him prove that he’s more than just a hookup to you? What do you mean ‘he’s not ready?’” He scoffed. “I see the way he looks at you— Hell, I see the way he looks at everyone. He’s just waiting for a boyfriend to drop into his lap. Are you sure it’s him that’s not ready, or were you just not prepared for the commitment?”
Growling softly, Logan's fingers tightened on the mug. "He's not emotionally ready… I wouldn't want to take advantage of that raw need! Do I want him to be mine, definitely! He's a lovely submissive, but he didn't even know about aftercare! He needs friends first, an education on what it would mean for him… I want his informed consent, not a moldable puppet, Janus!"
Janus didn’t seem convinced. “And somehow you believe that’s impossible to do in a committed relationship… That’s fine. Keep dragging him along. I’ll be here when you’re not.”
Logan sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Fine, I'm terrified that I'm not enough for him. I saw how he looked at you, too… You can't tell me that he doesn't want both of us!"
Janus looked at him in surprise, then sighed as well. “Don’t fool yourself, Logan. He wants anybody who gives him the smallest bit of attention. He doesn’t actually want either of us.”
He tapped the table with a deep frown. "That's a fair observation… Hence my reservation to commit and then have him run to the next person. However, if it were you, I wouldn't mind sharing, perhaps."
Janus’s face turned pink. He sipped his coffee and then turned away, busying himself with cleaning up. “You don’t have to say that. He chose you.”
Smirking, he smacked Janus’ ass lightly. "Perhaps…. I can't say I haven't looked at you, either~!"
Janus whipped around with a jump, face red. For the first time since Logan’s met him, he was flustered. “Wh- What?”
Adjusting his glasses, he hummed. "I had assumed you were far too dominant to attempt to obtain, but now I'm uncertain. Remus believed you were jealous of him…"
Janus crossed his arms over his chest and sneered. “Remus is an idiot. He’s the most dense man I’ve ever met.”
"Is he? Or is that you?" Stepping in closer, he watched the reactions of the other man as he closed him in against the counter.
Janus’s eyes flitter around, landing on somewhere close to Remus’ room. “What does it matter? Has Remus told you he’s okay with not being exclusive?”
"We didn't discuss our relationship as yet… I know I'm poly and pan… But I need to talk with him. If he agrees, what say you, Jan-Jan~?" Reaching out, he stroked Janus' cheek softly.
Janus barely stopped himself from melting into the touch. “We’ll see,” he mumbled, looking away.
"Agreed, but know that I'm open to the idea?" Petting softly when he doesn't get a flinch, he smiled.
Janus brushed his hand off and stepped away. “You should get back to him,” he murmured. “He’ll freak if he wakes up.”
Nodding, he stepped back, heading back to Remus. "Sleep well, Janus…"
“Thanks,” he muttered, and hurried to his room.
When Logan went back into Remus’ room, Remus shot upwards and poorly tried to wipe away the tears before they could be seen. “Jan-?”
"Oh, dear…" Sliding into the bed after sliding out of his clothes, he hummed, taking Remus in his arms. "I'm sorry, Rem, I believed you to be asleep and didn't want to bother your rest."
Remus snuggled into his chest. “I’m okay,” he promised. His face was still wet. “I thought you left?”
"I promised to stay the night, dear… Janus simply wanted a chat." Stroking his hair, he encouraged Remus to cuddle, wiping the tears.
“Oh…” Remus kissed his cheek. “I hope you’re getting along. Janus is my best friend.”
Smiling, he nuzzled lightly. "I know, dear… He was very concerned about us, this, uh,  relationship… What do you want us to be, my dear?"
Remus hesitated. “I want whatever you want.”
He stroked Remus’ hair as he thought. "I don't want to take advantage of you… You're beautiful, and I want to take care of you, but I worry that you need more balance than a one on one relationship. Now, I am polyamoirous and pansexual, so… you simply need to communicate your needs. Do you want me to be your dominant, your boyfriend?"
Butterflies practically exploded in Remus’ stomach. “You want to be boyfriends?” He asked excitedly.
Cupping his face, he smiled and lifted Remus’ to meet his eyes. "I would be honored to be your boyfriend, Remus,” he said firmly, “if you'll have me?"
Remus nodded frantically, and kissed Logan messily. Kissing back with equal fervor, Logan’s fingers slid into his hair to guide the kiss. Mine~
Remus whimpered and wrapped his arms around Logan’s waist. “I’m so glad I met you,” he breathed out.
Snuggling Remus close, he nodded, kissing his forehead. "Me too, my precious."
Remus fell asleep in his arms, smiling.

Period pains ~ Yachi x Reader
Possible tw: Periods for a gn reader. The personal headcanon that Yachi could beat anyone up in smash bros with no remorse, the briefly mentioned personal headcanon that she takes a Visual arts class. Mention of Tylenol, rude guardian briefly mentioned.
I didn't mention a specific gender, just that they can have periods, so it's still technically a gn reader, maybe, idk?
completely self-indulgent as I am In pain rn ;-;
Word count: 1,793
Sitting in bed surrounded by blankets and pillows was not what you had in mind for your Saturday, no no no, you had plans today, you were going on a date in the park with your girlfriend Yachi since it was going to be a nice day today, but sadly, your cycle had decided to ruin your plans. The cramps were worse than normal and you were so tired since it had kept you up all night and your guardian had gotten mad at you yesterday night and this morning, but of course, they said they would bring home food and assumed that would make it better. All that did was give you an even worse migraine. You had just texted Yachi that you would have to take a rain check and briefly explained why.
She was quick to text back with her sympathies and offered to come over with some homemade soup so you could relax and spend time together anyway, and she could help with the cramps. You thought about rejecting her offer as you didn’t want to trouble her, but you did miss her and you wanted to go on a date. You replied to her that that sounded nice, but she didn’t have to do anything for you, just come over to hang out for a while. Yachi replied in seconds with ‘Okay! ^-^’ and so you went to get up, wincing at the pain, and unlocked the front door for her. While you were up you decided to make your comfort drink and maybe some Tylenol, you didn’t necessarily have the energy to go get it, but you were already here, so why not? You sat on the couch in the living room and sipped your drink slowly after taking a couple of the pills, excited that your shark week hadn’t ruined your plans completely, although it was still a pain, and as if to prove its point you got another really bad cramp, just to remind you it’s still there in case you had forgotten. You clutched your side and winced, grateful that you had already drunk enough of your drink so it didn’t spill at the movements. About 30 minutes later you heard the door starting to open and you hear Yachi call out from behind it, “Hey (reader) I’m here!” you responded with some sort of noise, not able to form actual words at the moment, your cup abandoned at the coffee table, as you got up to greet her. She smiled sheepishly as she saw you look at the bag she had brought in, there were Heating pads, your favorite sweets, what looked to be Yachis’ blanket from her house that you often said was super comfy, a couple of stuffed animals, and Yachis’ laptop. You had also noticed that she had brought in a whole pot of soup and she had already placed it on the stove. “Ehehe, I know you said not to worry about bringing anything, but I thought it would be nice. These always help me during my time of the week, so I thought it would help you! The soups just got to heat up though.” She turned the stove on so the soup would heat up, and set a timer on her phone for when it should be done, and then walked back to you who was still standing on the other side of the island in the kitchen. You didn’t say anything and just hugged her, leaning on her a bit. You did say not to bring anything, but you would be lying if you said that it didn’t make you feel very happy. She laughed a bit and hugged you lightly, not wanted to squeeze too hard and make the cramps act up again. She grabbed your hand in hers, “Come on, let’s sit on the couch and watch some tv or something while we wait for the soup!” she grabbed the blanket from the bag and lead you back to the couch, you grabbed the remote for her while she grabbed some pillows and arranged them around you both, she then preceded to curl up beside you with the blanket surrounding you both. She held your hand and kissed your cheek sweetly before placing her head on your shoulder while you picked your favorite cartoon show to watch for a bit.
Eventually, the timer she had set on her phone rang, so you both got up from the comfortable position and turned off the tv. She wrapped the blanket around you, allowing you to be wrapped in it while you moved around, while she went to the kitchen. She stirred the soup a bit and made two bowls. She placed them on the table, one in front of where you were sitting and one where she would sit, turned off the stove, placed a lid on the pot, and put the pot into the fridge, “alright all done!” she cheered, and went to sit down in front of her bowl. “This is my mom’s homemade recipe, she used to make it all the time for me when she had enough free time. I learned how to make it since I liked it so much, and she couldn’t make it all the time.” she commented, in-between spoon fulls of soup. After your throat had gotten a bit better with some food you said, “It’s good.” a little quietly but loud enough that Yachi had no trouble hearing you. She practically lit up, “Really?! I’m glad you like it. I can always make some more for you if you’d like. I like making it anyways” You just smiled at her. With the size of the pot she brought, you think you could feed a family of eight for four days with it. After you were done, she cleaned the bowls and put them in the dishwasher, “Alright,” she smiled “Let’s relax for today, have that date we wanted, and just enjoy each other” She once again grabbed a hold of your hand also while grabbing the bag of stuffed animals and well as her laptop while you two walked to your room. The both of you got comfortable in the fluffy nest of pillows and blankets, Yachi adding the stuffed animals into the mix and starting her laptop, while it was loading she got out the heating pad and handed it to you to put where you saw fit. After she settled the laptop in between you two and pressed play on your favorite show, she started to mindlessly play with your hand, not that she realized. You smiled at her softly as her attention was on the show. The calming atmosphere, just you and Yachi, made today not so bad, even with the occasional cramps, Yachi was right there, every time you let out a little wince she would gently massage your sides(?) and adjust the heating pack if it had slipped off the area. Slowly during the show watching, you both started paying less attention to the show and more to each other. Yachi would talk about her day, her assignments in art class, or what shenanigans the Volleyball team had been up to, you would usually reply with only two or so word responses but she didn’t mind, it was easy for her to tell what you meant, and the time quickly went by. It was around six o’clock by now, and you had felt much better so you both decided to move back into the more open space of the living room, as that was where your game console was, with the blanket and heating pack. You got the controllers set up and Yachi suggested super smash bros. And who were you to disagree, to see the happy look on Yachis’s face was enough of a reason to play if you didn’t like smash bros. After starting it up and picking your characters, with Yachi maining Kirby and you as your personal favorite who isn’t Kirby, Yachi started to let you have a chance but quickly started to absolutely destroy you without a sense of remorse. You knew this would happen, you still tried your best but she was too good. She started to shout out when she landed a hit and things like that, but you didn’t mind it too much, you found it amusing in a way. The win was quickly hers as you had no chance but it was fun non the less. After a few more rounds of the game, Yachi decided it was getting late, “Do you wanna stay the night?” you managed to ask, Yachi practically jumped up in joy “Yes! I would love to, is it okay with your guardian though?” You thought about it and decided to text them, instead of asking if Yachi can stay over, you decided to just tell them that she was staying here. Not waiting for a response you shut off your phone, and nodded, “They said it was okay” and she smiled, “Okay then! I’ll let my mom know I won’t be home
tonight” even though you both knew by the time she got home, it was probably going to be so late that Yachi would be in bed. Afterward, you found some clothes that she could wear tonight and tomorrow. Even when your guardian came home, they knew they couldn’t just kick Yachi out, so they let her stay over, and mostly left the two of you alone after saying hi. You guys were sitting outside cuddling on the swing looking at the night sky together, both of you silent and just drinking out of your mugs, yeah maybe this isn’t what you imagined your date to be, but it was still as wonderful as you thought it was going to be. Yachi moved a bit to face you, pressed a soft kiss to your lips before pulling away, she saw your questioning glance and just smiled and shrugged, “I just felt like it” she did it once more, a bit slower this time, before settling back into your side with her gaze to the stars. ”They sure are pretty” She said as her actions were catching up to her trying to change the subject and calm her beating heart down. Even in the semi-dark lighting you can see the loud blush donning her cheeks, you kissed her forehead before looking up at the stars as well, they were beautiful, weren’t they.

Dongju was laying on his bed, staring at the ceiling. His twin brother was sitting by the table, loading another gun. They had a few more hours before the annual massacre would take the place. They were well prepared, it was just Dongmyeong getting his favorite guns ready. There was this particular one, on which he made small engravings for every year they made it through. Even though it was only their third year.
Ever since the Purge was introduced, their family avoided participating in this unholy event at all costs. But everything changed when the boys were left alone. The first year since their parents’ death was tough, they were forced to hide to survive. Even though they weren’t allowed to participate until they turned eighteen, they were still an easy target for other players. But as soon as they were allowed to become the hunters themselves, the game was on.
If one would ask who out of two was more into it, the answer would be Dongmyeong. Though, Dongju enjoyed it just as much. Though they had different reasons behind their liking of the event. While Dongmyeong enjoyed the thrill of seeing fear in his prey’s eyes, it was mostly about the revenge for Dongju. He hated the game, but he hated the ones playing and participating even more. Some days he even hated his twin brother and himself, but they were a team. And it was them against the world.

Geonhak was on his way home. He rushed to the market to get some stuff, as Seoho asked for some snacks and some other stuff for his experiments. He recently improved their safety system. They found the whole Purge event stupid and inhumane and they had no desire to participate in it. But they had to survive the night and stay alive.
Every year on this day all crimes were legal and the paramedic, police, and fire department services weren’t available. This chaos lasted for 12 hours straight, but usually, it felt like it lasted way longer.
Geonhak was relaxed, as he still had enough time until the start of the event. He sent Seoho a message, letting his roommate know that he was on his way home and he would make it in time. He didn’t want Seoho to worry, so he promised he will update him throughout his way home.
Once in the market, he called Seoho via face time, as he didn’t know what snacks the other wanted. Not that he cared, but listening to Seoho’s nagging for the next 12 hours sounded even worse than the Purge itself. So, he wanted to be sure he got everything the other needed and wanted.
As he was done with his shopping, he wished a cashier a calm night or a fun game and left, heading toward their apartment block. On his way he saw some guys already running around in masks, probably getting ready for the game. Some folks used to go out earlier just to meet with their friends or other gangs, so it was nothing strange. He sent another message to Seoho, letting him know that he left the shop and was heading home now. Their apartment block wasn’t that close, but he decided it would be faster to take a walk. As waiting for the bus would probably take longer. The sun was already setting and the sky was getting darker with each passing minute. He enjoyed the chilly breeze of March, if not for the stupid event, he would offer Seoho to have dinner outside.

He had a few blocks left and he would be home; when suddenly he heard someone calling for help. He hesitated whether or not he should check up on the person calling, as he was running out of time before the siren would go off. In the end, he decided he can’t ignore the pleading cries and he turned into the dark alleyway, looking for the one who was asking for help. It took him a few minutes to realize that there was a guy behind the dumpster. He was sitting on the floor, holding onto his leg that was bleeding.
“Hey, you alright?” He asked as he kneeled next to the boy.
“No... I-I was going some when someone stabbed me in the leg. I’m scared I won’t make it home in time.” The guy whined and looked up at Geonhak.
“Hey, I know you.” Geonhak’s eyes widened when he realized that the guy was his neighbor. “Can you stand up? I will help you get home.” He grabbed the other’s waist, ready to help him get up. However, the other didn’t seem to be able to bend his knee, which made it difficult to stand up.
The younger boy let out another cry, as he tried to get up one more time. Geonhak put his bag on the floor, so he could support the other better. He put one of the boy’s arms on his shoulder, as he grabbed his waist and pulled him closer. Finally, the hurt guy was on his knees. Geonhak grabbed his bag, before once again hugging the other’s waist for better support.
“We won’t make it…” The younger boy stopped, looking up at Geonhak.
“Come on, don’t say that. The street seems to be calm and our apartments are around the corner. We can make it.” He nodded, reassuring the other.
“You won’t make it…” Dongju whispered, right as the siren echoed in the city. Geonhak was about to say that they still can make it to the apartment and hide, but his mouth fell open when the other took out a gun from his back pocket.
“I- What is this about?” Geonhak stared at the boy who was pointing a gun at him. He then realized some other guys walk out of the dark corners, all holding various weapons. One of the boys approached Dongju with a creepy smile.
“Good job, brother.” He grinned even wider, patting the other’s shoulder. “It’s been a while since I wanted to play with our strong Geonhak.”
“That’s cheating! What the hell is on your mind, freak!” He shouted. He honestly was lost. He wondered if there was a chance he could run away from them, but the alleyway was too long and most of them had guns. They could kill him in a matter of seconds. Fighting them was useless, too. He was alone against at least 7 other men.
“Go on, shoot me. Isn’t it what you got me here for?” He stared at Dongju, whose gun was still pointed at him.
“No.” Dongmyeong approached Geonhak, walking to him from behind so that he can whisper into the other’s ear. “I want to play with you. Would you mind joining us?” He caressed Geonhak’s cheek.
“Pff, never!” Geonhak scoffed, as he pushed Dongmyeong’s hand away. “Don’t touch me. I’d rather you kill me right here and right now than run around killing innocent people.”
“No one is innocent, my dear Geoonhakkie.” Dongmyeong walked over to Dongju, now standing in front of Geonhak. They both were wearing all black. A long black coat and the black turtle neck made Dongmyeong look like a villain. The coat was unbuttoned and his figure seemed way bigger, as he stuffed both his hands into his pockets. Dongju on the other hand was wearing clothes that seemed to be more fitted and comfortable for the activity they were about to do. He was in black, skinny jeans and a leather jacket. Geonhak has also realized that the blood on the younger’s leg was probably fake, as he didn’t seem to be hurt at all. It was all a stunt to get Geonhak in their trap.
21st of March, 2021 || 7.15 PM
“Fuck it!” Dongmyeong sighed and turned to face the men in the back. “If he doesn’t want to join the fun. Get him!” He turned to face Geonhak again, a devilish smile on his face. “He will be my pet for the night. I will leave him for the dessert.”
Before Geonhak could do or say anything, two men grabbed him by his arms and forced him down. One of them immediately secured his hands with a zip tie. Dongmyeong took the roll of scotch tape from one of the men and approached Geonhak once again. As hard as he tried to move away, the men holding him were stronger. His mouth was taped shut. His glare was glued to Dongmyeong who seemed to enjoy this too much. He winked at Geonhak and moved away. Someone from the back put a cotton bag over Geonhak’s head and suddenly his vision was lost. The sounds were the only things he could use to more or less identify his surroundings. His head was pushed down and as they dragged him along and pushed into the car. He wondered where they could take him.
They talked about their plans for the night. Based on the voices and where they came from, he realized that he was sitting between two brothers. Suddenly he felt a vibration in his pocket and if his mouth wasn’t covered, he would curse. It must have been Seoho. Geonhak moved a bit, hoping that the brother sitting on his right didn’t feel or hear the vibration.
“What is it Geonhakkie? Are you uncomfortable?” He heard a voice, turning his head to the source, even though he couldn’t see the one’s face. Though he knew it was Dongmyeong. He moved in his spot, trying to get away from the other, but Dongmyeong grabbed him by his neck and pulled him closer, making Geonhak’s heart beat faster.
Geonhak let out a groan, as that was the only thing he could let out. He wished Seoho would stop calling him now. He also hoped that he was smart enough to stay at home. Geonhak wasn’t sure how the night would end, but as long as Seoho was safe, nothing else mattered. Even if the crazy twins decided to kill him, it didn’t matter. He just wanted Seoho to stay out of this.
“Don’t worry, we are almost here.” Dongmyeong patted Geonhak’s thigh. “We just gonna pay a visit to someone special.” The last sentence sent shivers down Geonhak’s spine. It was hard to tell if they rode for a long time or not. Without his vision, he was highly disoriented in his surroundings. He heard some distant screams coming from outside, but the sounds were so quiet, as they were blocked by the car windows. He didn’t know what the other was talking about, but he hoped it had nothing to do with his roommate.
The car finally stopped and the gang jumped out, leaving Geonhak alone in the car. He wanted to get to his phone, but it was impossible, as his hands were tied behind his back. He thought that the fuckers were smart to use a zip tie, as it wasn’t that easy to get rid of. He sat there still, trying to focus his attention on the sounds surrounding him. He wanted to know where they took him and what were they planning to do with him next.
He thought of the day when the twins moved in. It was around 7 months ago. They always were so sweet and polite, one could never think that they would be the ones running around the streets on this crazy night. But then again, they didn’t seem like the ones who were eager to get to know their neighbors. They never left each other’s side. He also never seen any other relatives around. He wondered if they were orphans or did their family simply lived in another city.
Suddenly he heard the door of the car being opened again. Someone grabbed him by his arm and pushed him out, throwing him on the cold ground. It was sand mixed with small rocks, so he wondered if they were somewhere out of the city. He tried getting up to sit on his butt, but the man forced him up. Once Geonhak stood on his feet, a strong kick met his back and he fell on his face. He let out a muffled scream. He felt someone grab his hair, pulling his head up. The pull wasn’t that strong, so he was sure it was one of the brothers. Perhaps Dongmyeong, as he was the one who wanted Geonhak around, for whatever his reason was.
“This is your last chance to change your mind.” He said. His voice was so close and Geonhak realized that he must be squatting down right in front of him, as he still held Geonhak by his hair. Suddenly, Dongmyeong let go of Geonhak’s hair. The next thing Geonhak knew, the bag was finally off his head. He closed his eyes and scrunched his nose, as the sudden bright light of the fires around them blinded his eyes. The man behind him lifted him, putting Geonhak on his knees. Here he was, kneeling in front of the big boss, even though the other was the same height as Geonhak.
Geonhak glared at the boy and let out another groan. He then stared at Dongju who was standing behind Dongmyeong. Somehow, the other twin didn’t seem to be into this massacre as much as the older one.
“Oh right. Sorry, my love.” Dongmyeong leaned over, ripping the tape of Geonhak’s lips.
“Do you think it’s fucking funny?” Geonhak growled.
“You think it’s not?” Dongmyeong tilted his head to the side. “Look at you, you’re so strong. You could crush their skulls with your bare hands. I saw you in the gym. I know what you’re able to do.” He smirked, as he squatted down next to Geonhak again.
“I’m not killing people. I told you, you can kill me if you want. I don’t care.” Geonhak breathed out.
“That would be boring.” Dongmyeong pouted his lips and looked over at Dongju. “I have a better idea. Why spend the night running around when I can have plenty of fun with you.”
“And what the hell is that supposed to mean?” Geonhak’s eyes widened, as he watched both twins.
“You will see.” Dongmyeong smiled, standing up. He then motioned for the men to take Geonhak away.
21st of March, 2021 || 9.05 PM
Geonhak spit out blood on the ground and laughed. Even though the situation he was in was anything but funny. His hands were still tied up, only this time he was tied up to the chair. As two men beat him up for what seemed like an eternity. He tried to think of a reason as to why he was so lucky to end up in this situation. Did he ever insult one of the twins… No, he was always polite. His head was empty and he couldn’t think of any logical reason. Maybe it was just a coincidence. Maybe the trap wasn’t targeted at him and only if he ignored the cries, he would be at home with Seoho. Fuck, Seoho! He licked the blood off his lips and moved his waist a little to the side, trying to feel the phone in his pocket. A whine escaped his mouth, as his ribs hurt from all the punches and kicks he received. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t feel the phone in his pocket. He didn’t recall anyone taking it from him. Maybe it fell off in the car.
Suddenly a door to the room they were in flew open and he saw a familiar figure. Dongmyeong entered the room, followed by Dongju. Did these two ever spend at least a minute away from one another? Geonhak was pissed, mostly because he hated the fact that he was here for no particular reason.
“Will someone explain to me why am I here? Why won’t you let me go home?” Geonhak groaned once Dongmyeong was close enough.
“Home? Why? Is there someone waiting for you?” Dongmyeong patted his lips with his index finger. “Ahh, right. Your roommate. What was his name..?” He turned over to Dongju, hoping that he remembered the other’s name.
“Lee Seoho.” Dongju smiled, nodding his head. “This nerd thinks his stupid system is going to protect him. I bet he is dead already. Now that he doesn’t have his strong boyfriend to protect him.” He laughed out loud, though as soon as he noticed Dongmyeong’s stare, he stopped.
“He is not my boyfriend,” Geonhak whispered. “We are just friends.” His voice was calm, but deep down he was scared. If something was to happen to Seoho, he would never forgive himself.
“Should we pay him a visit?” Dongju tilted his head, as he pressed his gun against the other side of his head.
“Nah, I don’t give a shit about this loser Seoho.” Dongmyeong stood up, bending over Geonhak. “I’d rather stay here with you. I see the boys introduced you to the rules of the game we are about to play.”
“As if you could keep up with their level.” Geonhak laughed, his teeth still covered in blood. The phrase didn’t sit well with the other, so he didn’t hesitate to land a punch to Geonhak’s jaw.
“It would take more punches to shut me up,” Geonhak said after he spat more blood in front of the other’s boots.
Dongmyeong first gave him a stare, but a second later his expression changed. Now he was grinning widely. He grabbed Geonhak’s chin and leaned in closer, leaving almost no space between their faces.
“Then let me introduce you to my friends.” He winked, pushing Geonhak’s face away before he walked over to the table. Geonhak glanced over his shoulder, noticing various knives and other rather sharp weapons laying there. As Dongmyeong’s hand ran over the weapons, he hummed to himself. Everybody else was quiet, so it was just a soft voice of the boy and the loud thumps of Geonhak’s heart.
Finally, Dongmyeong took a butterfly knife and approached Geonhak again. Dongju’s eyes followed his brother and so did Geonhak’s. His eyes widened at the boy and he knew that asking another question was pointless. A part of him knew well enough what was about to happen.
Dongmyeong pressed the button, making the blade pop out. He looked at the knife, his eyes shining bright, as a creepy smile only grew bigger. He admired the cold weapon in his hand and then he carefully dragged the tip of the blade along Geonhak’s cheek. Geonhak closed his eyes and held his breath, his teeth pressing hard against each other. As Dongmyeong’s hand moved lower to his neck, Geonhak opened his eyes and looked down, trying his best to follow the other’s hand. The blade stopped at the collar of Geonhak’s white T-shirt. Dongmyeong grabbed the hem of the shirt and pulled it a little from the other’s body, as his blade made its way through the fabric, tearing it apart. As soon as Geonhak’s chest was exposed, Dongmyeong ran his fingers against the warm skin, tracing his finger down to Geonhak’s belt. He gave him one last look in the eyes before he pushed the blade into the other’s skin with a smug smile on his face.
Geonhak closed his eyes once again, as he gritted his teeth to avoid any sound leaving his mouth. Dongmyeong noticed that and pushed the blade even deeper, moving it across Geonhak’s chest. He watched crimson red blood run down the wound, smiling to himself, as he enjoyed it so much. Geonhak let out a small whimper, which made Dongmyeong’s grin grow even bigger.
He moved the blade away, wiping the blood off it with his finger and then licking it off. Dongmyeong waited for Geonhak’s reaction, but as he didn’t receive any, he continued. Cutting the flesh of the older guy.
22nd of March, 2021 || 12.43 AM
The torture with knives lasted for another few hours. Dongmyeong tried a few different knives and different spots on Geonhak’s body. Geonhak was left shirtless, as in the process his jacket and ripped T-shirt was taken off of him. They also found their phone that was in his jacket’s pocket. However, the phone was long dead. The battery must have died, as Geonhak forgot to charge it during his work hours. With his phone off, he got even more scared for Seoho. He prayed to God that Seoho was smart enough not to leave the house.
Geonhak’s head dropped, he lost a lot of blood and was overall exhausted. He also wouldn’t mind getting some water, as he was getting thirsty and the blood in his mouth didn’t help.
“Can I--- Can I get some water?” He gathered his remaining strength and looked up, catching Dongju’s eyes and begging him for at least a drop of water. Dongju was about to offer him a bottle of water when Dongmyeong kicked it out of Dongju’s arm.
“Don’t you dare give him anything to drink!” Dongmyeong grabbed Dongju by the collar of his jacket, literally growling at him.
“If you plan on playing with him all night, you’d rather reconsider.” Dongju pushed his twin away and turned on his heels. “You keep on playing, I’m bored. I will take the boys and go to the city.”
“So you’re going to leave me, huh?” Dongmyeong tilted his head, as he stared at Dongju.
“You seem to be the only one enjoying this. What’s about him that makes you go this crazy?” Dongju motioned his head toward Geonhak, who seemed to have passed out from the exhaustion. “When we started doing this, we promised we will do it for our parents. No one was after us, but you decided to move to another city as if someone was after your ass.”
“You don’t understand it, Dongju..” Dongmyeong whispered.
“I don’t! And you never explained it. So here, have fun with your new toy. I’m leaving.” Dongju opened the door, taking one last glance at his brother.
“If you leave now… Don’t dare come back!” Dongmyeong growled through gritted teeth. Dongju simply let out a sigh and left, slamming the door behind him. Dongmyeong let out a loud groan, punching the metal door. He then pushed his back against the door and slid down. He felt his heart clench and tears build up in his eyes. He ran his hand through his hair and bit his lip. He couldn’t believe that they got into an argument because of some stupid boy.
Geonhak regained his consciousness, letting out a loud groan. The noise made Dongmyeong come back to his senses and he finally got up, wiping his tears before he went to pick up the bottle that fell earlier. He opened the bottle and poured all of its substance on Geonha’s head. He watched the other lick his lips and face greedily, as he tried to get at least a few drops of water.
“Look at you, so helpless.” Dongmyeong laughed. “Not the typical cool guy I know. The one who looks good no matter the part of the day, be it early morning or the middle of the night.”
“What do you want from me?” Geonhak whispered, his body almost lifeless, his voice coming out as a painful moan.
“You know…” Dongmyeong sat down on the floor, resting his head on his palm. “When they killed our parents in the middle of the night, I held Dongju in my arms, as we hid behind the closet. That night I promised that I will do all in my power to end this stupid game. We tried protesting, we tried signing petitions. But we were helpless against this system. People enjoyed the fact that there was one night in the year when they could do anything and avoid responsibility.” He looked up at Geonhak, catching the boy’s tired gaze.
“So that’s when I told Dongju we should participate. If we can’t stop the game, we should take advantage of the system they have created.”
“Isn’t it stupid?” Geonhak whispered. “Killing innocent people just because someone killed your parents.”
“You don’t understand it!” Dongmyeong jumped to his feet. “They are all at fault. Not just the ones who killed our parents. They are all a part of this mess. So even if I have to kill every living person in this country, I don’t mind!”
“Do you realize…” Geonhak coughed up some dried blood, catching his breath before he could finish his sentence. “You may also be killing someone’s parents. That way it will never end…”
“You think I care? The only person I care about is Dongju.” He nodded his head.
“Then why the fuck did you let him leave? What if he gets killed?” Geonhak screamed as he moved in his chair, regretting the action immediately, as he was still in so much pain from all the punches and cuts.
“Fuck!” Dongmyeong looked at the door and then back at Geonhak. Before he said anything, he grabbed his gun from the table and simply left.
22nd of March, 2021 || 3.15 AM
Geonhak wasn’t sure how much time did he spent in the building alone. He kept on losing and regaining his consciousness, as his body was lacking so much blood. As weak as he was, he couldn’t allow himself to die in this place. The temperature in the room was getting lower and he was cold. To try and at least warm himself a little bit, he started moving in his chair. The pain in his body would make him scream in agony, but he knew he had to try. He let out a few breathes, taking in one long before he tried to jump with his chair, moving toward the table where all the knives were. Who knew, maybe if he got a grip of one of them, he could free his hands.
Some time passed by and he had managed to make it halfway through. The table wasn’t that far, but in the state that he was in, it would take him another hour or so to reach the table. If his body wouldn’t give up earlier.
22nd of March, 2021 || 4.51 AM
He woke up with a loud groan. It seemed that his body has given up and he passed out again. He was thirsty and weak, his body was also shaking as he wasn’t able to produce enough body warmth to keep himself warm. The temperature must have fallen below zero, or maybe it was just his weak body giving up.
He gathered all his strength and was about to jump with the chair again. Then suddenly the door opened and he saw Dongju. His jacket was dirty and the hair was messy, Geonhak wondered if he got into a fight with someone. His gaze froze on the boy and he waited for the other’s reaction. Dongju looked around, raising an eyebrow. He was surprised not to find his twin in the room with their hostage.
“Where’s Dongmyeong?” He asked as he walked over to Geonhak.
“He probably…” Geonhak found it difficult to speak and to keep his eyes open or focused on the other. “...went looking for you.” His head fell once he finished his sentence. He thought that Dongju would leave again, to go looking for his brother. But to his surprise, the younger grabbed the knife from the table and freed Geonhak’s hands. His arms became numb, so as soon as they were freed, they fell to his sides. He simply couldn’t bring himself to lift them or do anything with them.
“Come on, we need to get you out of here.” Dongju grabbed Geonhak’s waist and tried lifting him.
“I’m cold.” Geonhak let out a whine, as his head fell on Dongju’s shoulder.
“Right. Here.” Dongju helped Geonhak to sit down on the chair. He picked up Geonhak’s jacket and helped him put it on. Geonhak let out loud groans again every time Dongju accidentally touched one of the wounds. He felt dizzy and he thought he might pass out from all the pain again, but Dongju didn’t let him. He got another bottle filled with water, opening it, and helping Geonhak drink. “Come on, we need to get you back on your feet.”
“Why are you helping me?” Geonhak licked his dry lips, as he looked up at Dongju.
“Because you’re a good guy, Geonhak. And you don’t deserve it.” He offered a soft smile to the other, holding his waist carefully. He didn’t want to cause any more pain, but he needed to offer enough support.
They slowly moved toward the exit. Dongju had a car outside, ready to take Geonhak anywhere that would be safer than the place they were in right now. A few more hours and Geonhak could call the ambulance for the doctors to take care of his wounds. All he needed was to hold on for two more hours. But sometimes life doesn’t go as planned.
The door opened in front of them and they met Dongmyeong’s surprised gaze. He looked over at Dongju and then at Geonhak that was leaning against Dongju’s body. He raised an eyebrow and in a matter of seconds, his expression switched from surprised to furious. He grabbed Geonhak by the collar of his jacket and moved his body away from Dongju. He then pointed his gun at his twin brother.
“What the fuck, Dongju?!” He shouted, moving the gun barrel even closer to Dongju’s forehead.
“Dongmyeong, stop it. It’s insane. He did nothing wrong. You can go on killing all these other people who you think are responsible for the death of our parents but don’t harm innocent people.” Dongju tried to push his twin away from Geonhak, but before he could do it, Dongmyeong threw Geonhak’s body on the floor.
“Since when do you care about all the people? I thought it was us against the world.” Dongmyeong put his gun into his back pocket and pushed Dongju further from the door. “But here you are, trying to betray me!”
“Listen to me…” Dongju tried to calm down his twin. Geonhak pulled his body against the wall, watching two brothers get into the fight. His head was spinning, either because of the blood loss or the fact that he hit his head when the older twin threw him on the floor.
22nd of March, 2021 || 6.32 AM
Geonhak heard a scream. He tried opening his heavy eyelids, looking around the room. The twins were punching each other. Dongmyeong has pushed Dongju to the table and was beating him up. For some reason, Dongju wasn’t returning the hits, maybe because he didn’t want to hurt his brother. Dongmyeong let out a loud groan, hitting Dongju’s chest one last time before he let go of him.
“Fine... “ He let out a sigh. “You can choose who you want to be. A hero for him… or my brother?” He looked down, as he moved away from Dongju. Dongju wanted to pat his shoulder, but he hesitated. He looked over at Geonhak who was holding onto his stomach and in his head the answer was obvious. He rushed over to Geonhak, helping him stand on his feet so that they can leave.
Once Geonhak was on his feet, Dongju placed one of his arms around his neck and was about to help Geonhak walk out of the building. Suddenly Geonhak heard a loud gunshot and he jerked his head to look behind him. Dongmyeong stood there, holding a gun, as tears streamed down his face. Before Geonhak knew it, Dongju’s body leaned against his, resulting in them both falling to the floor.
“No! What have you done, you freak!!” Geonhak screamed as he tried to press his hand to Dongju’s wound. But he was too weak to apply enough pressure to stop the blood. He laid Dongju’s head in his lap and caressed his cheek, as he felt tears running down his cheeks.
22nd of March, 2021 || 6.59 AM
Dongmyeong froze in his spot, as he quietly sobbed, watching his brother dying in the stranger’s arms. He pressed the gun riffle to his head and pulled the trigger.
22nd of March, 2021 || 7.00 AM
The siren sounds echoed in the city. The announcement stating that the Annual Purge has ended and the services will continue their usual work was made. Geonhak looked over at Dongmyeong’s lifeless body and then down at Dongju that just let out his last breath in his arms. He screamed, deep down wishing that the events of the last night were just a bad dream.

NCT 127′s Dorm Maid: Ch.1 - Intro
Tumblr media
Title: NCT 127′s Dorm Maid
Chapter: 1
Genre: Smut
Rated: R
Chapter Masterlist
Summary: When NCT's Dorm maid falls ill, her niece takes her place and becomes NCT's new dorm maid. NCT weren't unfamiliar with the girl as she has substituted for her aunt many times before. But this time it was different, this time she was going to become their permanent dorm maid as her aunt was forced to retire because of her health. NCT members quickly grow fond of the girl, but little did she know this also meant that she was going to be a hell of a lot more busy than she expected.
A/n: This chapter is more of an intro
When my aunt fell Ill she had recommended me to take over her position as a dorm maid. I was already interested in being a maid previously and I have even gone to a maid academy in England for it. Why did I go all the way to England for a maid academy you ask? I just absolutely love the idea of  being a maid. I don't know why but it had always appealed to me since I loved cleaning and I was good at it.
I hope one day maybe I could become a maid in a mansion or maybe even a royal maid. Mostly so that I could wear a cute maid uniform. My ex boyfriend told me it probably appealed to me since I enjoyed being submissive, he was probably right.
Anyway, back to my aunt. She fell ill and could no longer work, she was forced to retire. My aunt told me everything I needed to know and even had some notes for me. She told me I could move in with her to her apartment with her since she had an extra room. I packed my things and brought them over to the apartment and took my time setting up my bedroom space.
Once I was settled I plopped down onto my bed and read through the notes. I had substituted for my aunt before so I already knew who she was working for.
They were members of a popular boy group called NCT 127. To be honest I never knew who they were before, I never really looked into idols, I would just listen to whatever I thought sounded good. Of course I did have some groups and soloists that I was a big fan of, like Lee Hyori, Rain, TVXQ, and so on.
The first time I substituted for my aunt, she told me they were celebrities but I didn't know who, I honestly didn't care either, I just wanted to do my job, get paid, and go home. They boys didn't know that I had no clue who they were until my third time substituting.
After that day I looked into them some more, and honestly they made some good music. I even watched a few of their shows just to understand them a bit more. I became a fan of them I guess, but I wasn't crazy about them.
I woke up early the next day and put on a pair of comfortable shorts a grey t-shirt before putting my hair up in a bun. I was going to be cleaning and working all day so I wanted to be comfortable and didn't want to have to worry about ruining my clothes.
After I had a bagel I head out of the apartment and stepped into the elevator and went up to the 5th floor.
Oh, right. I forgot to mention, my aunts apartment was in the same building where NCT lived, it was more convenient for work.
Once I was on the 5th floor I walked over to their apartment door and keyed in the passcode to the door before entering.
"Hello? Is anyone home?" I called out as I took my shoes off and slipped into the house slippers that were meant for my aunt. I was soon greeted by an older male who smile at me "I was waiting for you Mina, I'm their manager, I've already told the boys about the situation so they'll be out to greet you soon, they're just getting ready to go out," I nodded my head and bowed  before he led me inside. He didn't need to show me around as I was already familiar with the place.
The boys soon came out and greeted me. The members who lived on this floor were Johnny, Haechan, Doyoung and Taeyong.
"It's nice to see you again Mina! We look forward to seeing you around more...oh also tell your aunt we really miss her, she was really sweet and we loved having her around!" Taeyong grinned and I smiled back at him, before I could reply Haechan chimed in "I already miss her cooking, she's a really great cook! Ugh I just drool thinking about her food..."
I let out a small chuckle "so you just miss her for her food?" I teased.
"No no! Of course not!" He shook his head put his hands up to deny it.
"I know I'm just teasing you,"
Haechan let out a sigh of relief. The boys soon left for their schedules and I was left alone to do my job.
I grabbed their laundry and sorted the clothes, separating the whites from the colored before I loaded the washer. After than I began dusting off every book and cranny followed by vacuuming and sweeping.
When I was finished I cooked a simple meal for them to have once they got back.
I made my way to the 10th floor where Mark, Taeil, Yuta, Jaehyun and Jungwoo lived. The apartment was of course empty. Once again, I got everything I needed to get done done.
The boys had gotten home around the same time I had finished cooking. The boys all walked in saying how they smelled something good. I came out and formally greeted them as their new permanent maid.
"What did you make? It smells so good!" Mark exclaimed.
"Yeah, I'm starving, is it ready?" Yuta chimed in.
"The food is ready if you want to eat now, I'll go set the table,"
They had asked me to eat with them so I did. They all complimented my cooking saying it was just as good as my aunts cooking which honestly made me really happy. Once the boys had finished eating I did the dishes and made sure they didn't need anything else before I made my way back to the 5th floor apartment to check on them as well.
It seems they had also enjoyed the food down here as well and everything seemed to be going well. Before I left Johnny suggested that we should all gather tonight to just hang out and get to know me better so that I could be more comfortable being around them. Their manager agreed and asked me if I would like that. I nodded my head as I saw no harm in doing that.
The boys from the 10th floor came down and we all sat down together and chatted, we asked each other questions and soon the conversation turned into a bunch of jokes and laughter.
After all they would be seeing me almost daily from now on and this could help me understand their needs better.
I excused myself as soon as it started getting dark out and headed straight into the shower once I had gotten home. It seemed like things were going to be pretty easy around here.
Though I definitely did not expect what was to come.
What I thought was going to be a normal life of a maid just doing maid things, had suddenly take a turn.
My maid life became more....interesting to say the least.
And it all started when I walked into his room.....

As the weeks passed on, they continued to grow closer together. Soon enough, their research was done, and it was time to move onto the next location: Venezuela.  Vixen had packed up her stuff and had her stuff in the Jeep, waiting with Veracruz as the others finished up. Professor Jones had already paid him for his work.
“So, what are you going to do next?” Vixen asked as she leaned against a tree.
“Have a couple jobs lined up. You have another 9 months before graduating, yeah?” He asked her, looking over at her.
She nodded, and asked teasingly, “Do you want me to send you an invitation?”
He scoffed, shaking his head, “No. Just wondering when I can come steal you away.”
She smiled softly at that, looking down at the ground.
He tilted her chin back up and said, “Come back to our bar once you’ve graduated. I’ll be there, waiting. Then I’ll whisk you away, my darling.”
“Are you actually going to be there? Cause if I make the trip all the way back here, just for you to have ghost me, I will find you and kill you,” She warned him, half joking, half serious.
He chuckled at that, “I would pay to see that my dear.”
He pressed a kiss to her lips in farewell, before rejoining his men and departing minutes later.
She joined her group as they finished loading up the jeep. The four of them spoke of their small discoveries and was excited for the next location.
The next 9 months went by in a blur and soon enough they were wrapping up their internships. At the end of the year, they were heading back to the university for graduation.
A good week after graduation, found Vixen back in Colombia, at the cheap bar where she first met Veracruz.
She looked around, not seeing him at first. She took a spot at the bar and ordered the same drink she did last time.
She quietly sipped at her drink, looking through the texts with Veracruz. Despite being separated, they texted and called each other often. Every now and again, they would send each other saucy pictures or find a quiet place to call one another and have salacious conversations.
She was smirking at some of their conversations, when she felt a hand resting on her back. She turned to yell at whoever but was pleasantly surprised when she saw a familiar face.
“Hello Comandante. What brings you to these parts?” She asked him teasingly.
“Hmm. Oh, you know simply meeting a beautiful woman. Wicked smart. Attracts trouble wherever she goes. Sound familiar?” He asked jokingly.
She smiled brightly at him, leaning up to kiss him. He kissed her back, cupping her face with one hand.
“Let’s go,” He whispered against her lips.
He took her hand, tossing some pesos down to pay for her drink, before leading her outside to his truck. The two of them got in, and he drove off, far away from the city. The road he turned down on eventually, was mostly dirt and one way.
The truck eventually pulled up to a large home, that was hidden behind trees and shrubs.
“This is your home?” She questioned him as he parked in front of it.
He simply shrugged, “One of them, yes.”
She stared at him suspiciously, looking between him and the house.
“How rich are you?” She asked him incredulous.
“I’ll never tell, lovely. Now, shall we go inside, or do you want to spend our first night together in 9 months in my car?” He questioned his eyes roving over her form.
She hopped out of the truck, walking toward the front door. He joined her a moment later, unlocking the door, and welcoming her inside. She had sent her bags ahead to him, and she spotted them off to the side.
He led her upstairs, to his bedroom, that was colored in dark greys and blues. The two of them had long since abandoned their shoes, as she made her way to the bed. She plopped down on it, sitting with her hands folded in her lap and her ankles crossed.
He smirked as he gazed at her. He slowly stalked toward her, a predatory gaze in his eyes.
He stood before her and told her to strip. She stood back up, noting how there was maybe an inch of space between them.
She stripped slowly without breaking eye contact. Once she was naked, he nodded his head toward the bed, and she crawled backwards onto it.
He slowly removed his clothes, walking around the bed to the side. He sat down, his hands running up and down her chest.
She watched his arm move for a moment, before grabbing ahold of his hand, and pressing a kiss to the back of it as she brought it closer to her face. She brushed her cheek against his hand, enjoying the roughness against her skin.
He watched her, somewhat softly, before his hand moved past her face into her hair. As it buried itself into her hair, his hand firmly grasped a chunk and gave a short tug on it.
She gasped not necessarily out of pain but more out of surprise, and he took full advantage of that as his lips captured hers into deep kiss.
His lips were devouring her own as the kiss grew more intense. He broke away suddenly, attacking her neck with harsh bites that caused breathy moans.
His biting kisses worked further down to her chest, paying close attention to her breasts when he got there.
“I hope you had no plans for tomorrow, because you are not leaving this bed for quite some time,” He teased as he moved further down.
“Hm. Was planning to go get a new boyfriend but I guess you’ll do,” She threw back at him.
“Oh? Shall I remind you what a good boyfriend I can be?” He glared up at her playfully.
“I feel like you should, especially since you couldn’t be bothered to come to my graduation,” She said with only slight annoyance.
He rolled his eyes and simply returned his attention to the task at hand. He moved himself down to between her legs muttering vaguely in Spanish.
Before Vixen could call him out on his muttering, she gasped as she felt a finger tease her clit before it slipped inside her.
True to his word, he made sure she couldn’t leave the bed for hours at a time. When they finally emerged from his bedroom, it was around 1pm the next day.
It took a good hour for her legs to function properly, while he gave her a tour of his home.
“I have an event tomorrow night. Black tie affair. I want you to come with me,” Veracruz informed her.
“Oh? Like a date?” She further teased him.
One thing she learned early on with Veracruz, words like ‘boyfriend/girlfriend’ and ‘dating’ did not mean much to him. He saw it as simply ‘being with his woman.’
He rolled his eyes, pulling her into his arms.
“Yes. Like a date if you must label it. I just want to show off my beautiful and brilliant woman to my high society friends. Plus, if I have to endure one more party alone, I will murder them,” He said with a groan.
She giggled at that, “What am I supposed to wear? I don’t really own anything fancy.”
“Oh, but you do… if you look in our closet, I’m sure you’ll find something suitable,” He told her with a smirk.
They spent the rest of the day, simply enjoying one another’s presence and slept soundly that night.
When she woke up, Veracruz was already up. She tossed on a robe and wandered toward his office, figuring that’s where he would be. He was on the phone talking rapidly in Spanish. She admired him as he spoke.
He wasn’t dressed completely, simply wearing a pair of sweats. His hair wasn’t jelled yet, and she could see small curls forming as the humidity began to rise.
He noticed her standing there after a moment and raised an eyebrow.
She strolled forward, leaning over his desk to kiss his cheek. He smirked at her, shaking his head.
He hung up a minute later, and questioned, “May I ask why you were watching me?”
“Hm. Not watching. Admiring. Didn’t realize you have curls,” She stated as she looked at him.
“Heh. Yes, my mother was thrilled that I had curls. She took many photos of me,” He said twinging his nose in annoyance.
“Aww. I bet you were super cute. It’s almost unfair though. How handsome you are. I get the feeling I’m going to have scare off many a woman tonight,” Vixen said with a smile.
He shook his head and walked around his desk.
“Let’s go shower, and then have breakfast,” He proposed as he wrapped an arm around her.
They walked back upstairs to his room and showered together. They didn’t do anything to frisky other than a thorough make out session. When they had finished, and stepped out, Veracruz began his morning routine. She watched him for a moment before doing her own things such as brushing her teeth and fixing her hair.
The two of them threw on some light clothing and made their way downstairs to the kitchen. She watched him make French toast and eggs. He filled two cups with coffee, setting creamer and sugar down close to her.
She fixed her coffee how she wanted it and waited for him to finish up. He tossed some strawberries on top, dusting powdered sugar as well.
He placed a plate in front of her, with a fork and sat down across from her. The two of them dug into their meals.
She was pleasantly surprised by how amazing it tasted and complimented him, “This taste wonderful. Do you… do you cook often?”
“Yeah. My mother made sure I knew how. I was her only child, and she had declared that I would learn one way or another. Though, she still thinks I under season meals,” He commented with a roll of his eyes.
Vixen chuckled at that, “Sounds like you and your mother are pretty close?”
“Hm. Not as close as we once were. Work has definitely been a large contributor to that,” He shrugged nonchalantly.
“I have 2 older siblings. My parents considered them to be the pride and joy of the family since one is a doctor and the other a lawyer. They see me as being an archaeologist as being a weaker degree. One that is not worthy of mention. So, I don’t spend much time with them” Vixen admitted as she stabbed at her eggs randomly.
“You get to make fantastic discoveries and uncover new societies and they are not proud of that?” He questioned in disbelief.
She shrugged halfheartedly not really knowing what to say. She finished up her breakfast in silence.
Veracruz stared at her for a moment before finishing as well.
She spent the next few hours exploring the closet and found a dress that she felt would drive Veracruz wild. She shaved and moisturized her skin and pulled her hair into an updo. She kept her makeup minimum, a pink gloss, and eyeliner to make her eyes standout.
When it got closer time to leave, she put on the dress and matching shoes. She stepped out when she heard Veracruz enter the room.
She stared at him in surprised as she took in the tuxedo he wore. He looked damn good.
Veracruz’s eyes drank in her form as smirk grew on his face.
“You look good enough to eat darling. Though… I feel like you are missing something,” Veracruz grinned as he presented a velvet box that he was holding behind his back.
He handed it to her, and she opened it to reveal a delicate necklace that had a square cut emerald. She smiled softly at it. She gently picked it up and he took it from her and helped her put it on. He kissed the back of her neck once it was secured.
She turned around, grabbing her clutch, and walking with him downstairs. He led her to a very nice sportscar, a Lamborghini as she soon discovered.
The drive was to rather large estate, that had valet and many other nice fancy cars pulling in. They gave the keys to the valet and strode inside, arms looped around one another.
The party was in full swing, and he was greeted several times when he first entered. There were several other high-ranking officers and political figures as she found out. She was introduced to several before eventually being left with several wives.
She made polite chatter with them, somewhat annoyed he abandoned her with women who were a little snobbish.
After an hour of plastering a fake smile on her face, she finally spotted Veracruz again and excused herself. She made her way over to him, her smile still on her face.
She lightly cleared her throat to interrupt the conversation he was having.
“Ahem. My apologies but someone owes me a dance,” She interrupted grasping his arm.
“Oh? Please, I wouldn’t want him to upset his lovely wife,” The man said excusing himself.
She tugged Veracruz to the dancefloor, taking position to slow dance. Her smile dropped quickly as she looked at him.
“You said you wanted me to distract people conversing with you. Not that you were going to abandon me with hoity toity women, who think that because they have money, they can treat people like they are less than,” She complained.
He cleared his throat to stop the laugh that tried to escape him.
“It’s not funny. I will strangle someone if you leave me with them again,” She warned him, unamused.
“I’m sorry. I had to schmooze with my bosses for a time. That is done, and now you can just stay by my side all evening,” He placated kissing her once.
“You owe me so much more than just that pathetic kiss,” She grumbled.
“Oh, my sweet. I will make it up to you this evening I promise,” He promised her, in a mocking tone.
She glared at him and rolled her eyes.
“There is actually someone I want you to meet, and they just walked in,” He informed her pulling her off the dance floor.
He led her over to a handsome, brown-haired gentleman that was in his 30s, with a woman who had curly dark hair and extremely beautiful.
“Hello, Rick, how are you doing this evening? And Evie, looking beautiful as ever,” Veracruz greeted them with a charming smile.
Evie smiled somewhat shyly at the compliment and Rick held his hand out to shake Veracruz’s.
“Doing great, how’s the freelance been going for you?” Rick asked with a smirk.
“Business is booming. This is my girlfriend,” He introduced her. “She goes by Vixen, however. She just graduated with her masters in archaeology.”
Evie gasped excitedly, “What was your area of focus for your final year?”
“Ancient Aztec and Mayan cultures. That’s actually how I met Veracruz, we wound up having to hire him and his team as protection from mercenaries,” Vixen explained, excitement growing within her as well.
“We are actually in a few weeks about to return Egypt, and have a few digs lined up. Would you like to join us? I could always use another set of eyes and hands when uncovering the past,” Evie offered, bouncing slightly.
“I would love to join you! I wanted to do my internship in Egypt to be honest, but the professor filled those spots within 5 minutes of opening it. I was a minute too late,” She admitted biting her lip.
“We will send Felix all the info you’ll need, and will see you in a couple of weeks,” Rick interjected knowing that they were both 2 seconds away from going on long tangents about ancient history.
Rick didn’t want to interrupt but he could see the President of Colombia waving them over and looking somewhat impatient. He could see in Vixen’s eyes, a similar look he often found in Evie’s eyes, the pure joy in finding a kindred spirit. The two of them would have plenty of time to talk all they want during their adventure. For now, they had business attend to in securing funds for a dig here in Colombia in 6 months’ time.
Vixen was saddened to see them walk away, and even Evie looked disappointed for a moment.
“They have to talk to the President and he’s a stickler about “appointments.” Otherwise, I am sure we would’ve lost the two of you in your conversation over ancient worlds,” Veracruz explained quietly.
“That’s okay. We will talk lots in a few weeks. Wait…” Some thing registered in her mind. “Is your name… Felix?”
His face went blank, as he closed his eyes, sighing softly.
“It is!” She gasped triumphantly.
“Yes. Damn it Rick. Forgot he was one of the few who knew,” He acknowledged.
“I like it. I’m guessing you’d prefer if I still called you Veracruz though?” She guessed, biting her lip as she took in his expression.
“Yes. I would,” He stated simply.
She nodded, somewhat disappointed.
They spent another hour at the party, before finally heading to his home. She wasn’t very talkative during that last hour and he noticed.
When they arrived at his place, she simply walked upstairs to the bedroom, not really saying anything. She tossed off her shoes, and washed off her makeup, before gently removing the necklace and placing it on the vanity.
Veracruz walked in, bowtie undone, shirt unbuttoned. He quietly undressed, watching her out of the corner of his eye.
She slipped off the dress, revealing the very simple lace bra and underwear she had on underneath.
He sucked in a breath, taking in her curves.
“If I had known you were wearing that, I would’ve taken you home sooner,” He flirted lightly.
She smiled softly at that, taking off the bra, and slipping on a silk nightgown. She slid under the covers and curled up on the bed.
Veracruz finished undressing and stepped into the bathroom to spend some time rinsing out the gel in his hair before going to bed. The process took about 15 minutes to do, and he simply ran a towel over his hair to dry it.
When he stepped back out, she was still awake but only barely. Veracruz, in just a pair of boxers, got in bed, and pulled her in close to him. She curled herself around him, tangling her limbs with his.
He sighed after a moment, “You can call me Felix, in private. In public, I would prefer you used Veracruz.”
He knew she was upset by his earlier reaction; he wasn’t trying to be short with her. He just wasn’t prepared for that piece of information to be revealed.
“If it bothers you, why offer that? You clearly weren’t happy for me to learn that… though we’ve been together for almost a year now, find it odd that I am only just now learning your first name,” She muttered somewhat angrily.
“It bothers me because I wanted to be the one to tell you. Was actually planning on telling you this weekend, when I take you around the city. Was going to make it very romantic and everything,” He said with an exaggerated pout.
She rolled her eyes at that, and while the thought sounded nice, she was well in-tuned to when Veracruz was lying. His tone often took a slight mocking cheerfulness when he lied but she didn’t want to start an argument. She simply nodded her head and said nothing in response.
Veracruz tilted her head up so their eyes met. He could clearly see in her eyes that she didn’t believe him.
“Huh. It appears you are one of the few people who see through my lies. May I amend my previous statement?” He asked her, waiting for her nod. “I had planned to tell you. I just didn’t know how or when.”
That had sounded more truthful but even still, she wasn’t sure if she was going to use his first name often, if at all.
She simply pressed a kiss to his lips in response, appreciating the more truthful answer. She yawned, relaxing in his arms, slowly drifting off to sleep.
Veracruz looked down at her sleeping form and wondered, ‘How is it possible for this woman to read me like an open book?’
There were very few people who could see through his bullshit, his mother and Rick just to name the top two. He was somewhat amazed that she could pick up on it, when most women he dated before never did. He knew was thing was certain: she was going to keep him on his toes.

An Accidental Discovery
Day 15 of 2020′s 31 Days of Ficmas.  Thanks to @doctorroseprompts for the list!
Prompt: Ring
Rating: General, with a minor sexual(ish) situation implied at the end
Pairing: TenTooxRose; a mini-sequel to Barcelona is for Lovers (in my mind), but not explicitly so.  Can easily be read independently of that fic.
Summary: While putting laundry away, Rose makes a discovering in TenToo’s sock drawer that sends her into a tailspin.
2019 31 Days of Ficmas masterlist
AO3
---
If Rose had to pick one single thing she missed most about the TARDIS (besides the travel), it would probably be the laundry facilities.  Specifically, the fact that clothes dropped in a hamper at night would, typically, be back in her closet clean and pressed by the time she woke up the next morning.  The only exceptions would be the week or so before they had a visit planned to visit her Mum, as Jackie always made a big fuss over doing it for her, and Rose indulged her.  On the occasions when items were truly filthy, if she’d fallen headfirst into a mud pit or was sprayed by exploding alien (neither of which had happened with any frequency, but more than once was excessive by her definition) she would feel guilty letting the timeship deal with it, preferring to take it directly to the laundry room that would magically appear as an offshoot of her room.
(In the beginning, she’d just accepted the ship’s abilities, and after Bad Wolf, refused to give any thought as to why the TARDIS would be so much more accommodating to her than to the Doctor’s previous companions.)
She’d had to adjust to normal laundry facilities upon getting stuck here in Pete’s World, as they still called it, and had willingly accepted that the price she’d pay for a domestic life with the Doctor, or as domestic as either could stand, was doing all of the household’s laundry.  Why that was his Rubicon she didn’t know, but if that was what it took, so be it.  Besides, better to keep him away from the appliances, as his “improvements” tended to make things unusable, at least for their intended purpose.
Didn’t make her tolerate it any better.
Humming along to the radio, she emptied the basket of clothes on the bed, folding socks and underthings, grooving to the music.  An armful’s worth of socks were the Doctor’s, all in funny or eyewatering patterns, and when she pulled open the drawer groaned at the chaos that greeted her.  Dumping her load on top of the dresser while she organized what was already in there, she sang along to the new song, a jaunty tale by an artist who’d come to fame after she’d started travelling.
“I like shiny things, but I’d marry you with paper- what the fuck?”  Hand closing around a pair of dark dress socks she’d never seen him wear, she was startled to find them firmer than expected, as if something were hidden inside. “This better not be that mobile he lost…”  Pulling the pair out, she unfolded them- and gasped, as a small box dropped onto the socks piled below.
Her heart knew what it was even as her brain scrambled to catch up, and it was a trembling hand that reached for it.  Picking it up, she held it close to her heart, trying to breath and think, damn it.  They’d never talked about marriage, other than a few vague jokes, but she didn’t expect that of him, wouldn’t ask for more than what he was capable of.  She knew who he was, and what he was, TARDIS-less or not.  It could be earrings, she tried to convince herself.  Christmas is next week, don’t get ahead of yourself.  Maybe a necklace?
Could just open it and see, she considered.  Or ask him about it.  Or just wait until Christmas.
Taking a deep breath, certain she couldn’t live not knowing, she cracked the box open – and immediately shut it without seeing, re-folding it into the socks before she could change her mind again.  Everything went into the drawer haphazardly, reorganization abandoned with the urge to run, to leave, but not wanting to do so with clothes everywhere; no need to worry the Doctor should he come home and find the laundry half-abandoned and her nowhere to be found.
Because she suddenly had somewhere to be, urgently.
-
Rose burst into the kitchen with more momentum than intended, throwing the door open and startling her mother enough to make her yelp, tea sloshing over the edge of the fancy teacup she held as she chatted on the phone.
“Rose!”
She just stared, eyes wide, and Jackie’s motherly intuition must have dinged, as she muttered into the mobile, “I’ll call you back,” and hung up. “What’s wrong?”
In a daze Rose came towards where she was seated at the island, pulling herself up onto a stool next to her and leaning over to rest her head on her mother’s shoulder; it wasn’t exactly comfortable, but the warm arm Jackie wrapped around her was exactly what she needed.
“Sweetheart, you’re scaring me,” Jackie murmured after a minute’s silence.  “This isn’t like you- not anymore.  Did something happen?”
“I…”  After running on autopilot for a good forty-five minutes now, Rose’s brain was finally coming back online, and she was starting to question the wisdom of running to her mother.  It had been instinct, but in hindsight, she knew how Jackie felt about the Doctor, and wasn’t sure she would be happy about this potential development.  “I…”
Jackie nudged her upright, waiting until she was straight to stand and fetch another teacup.  “Take your time.”
Rose waited, watching as she poured her a cup, fixing it up just to Rose’s taste, if a little sweet, wrestling with herself, deciding that she wouldn’t tell her, or risk betraying the Doctor’s confidence, such as it was, until Jackie sat back down and she blurted, “I found a ring.”
“What, on the ground?”
“Mum!”  She rolled her eyes, groaning.  “No, in the Doctor’s sock drawer!”
Jackie was quiet for a moment.  “Least it wasn’t wrapped in a pair of his pants,” she shrugged.  “Was it in a box, or loose?”
Rose stared blankly at her.  “You’re awfully casual.  I tell you the Doctor, my nine-hundred something alien boyfriend, seems to have a ring, and you’re talking about his pants?”
“And you seem awfully bothered,” she countered, sipping at her tea. “Rose, he literally moved universes for you- and don’t start on that the other Doctor wouldn’t have let him stay malarky; he’s here for you.  To be with you.  Why wouldn’t he want to make it official?”
“Because!  Because he scoffs at marriage, and domestics, and commitment.  Some days, he can’t commit to a pair of bloody socks!”
Jackie snickered, quickly restraining herself at Rose’s glare. “Sweetheart, he loves you.  He wants to spend the rest of his life with you – I heard it as well as you did, on that beach.  Don’t let his fashion choices be the judge of what he wants with you. He chose you.  And you him.”
Her heart stopped.  “Oh, God, you don’t think he’s planning on proposing because I- I-”
“Sort of rejected him for the other Doctor?” Jackie asked helpfully. “No, love.  He’s just thinking about the future- his future- and spending it with you.  I think you both could use a bit of solid evidence that you’re both in it for the long haul, because you want to be.  That neither of you- and more specifically, the other- isn’t settling.”
Rose stared down into her cuppa, thoughts swirling, before one floated to the top.  “Hang on, did you know about this?”  It was the only possibility that made sense; her casual attitude, her confidence in the Doctor’s meaning behind it.
She had to giver her mother credit; she was a good liar.  But the calm and even “No” gave her away.  Quite literally in no universe would Jackie be so accepting the first time she heard about this.  Not possible.
“You did!” Rose gasped.  “And you didn’t tell me?  How do you know?”
Jackie grimaced.  “I shouldn’t say.  He asked my permission?”
“He did?”  Rose tried to picture it in her mind: the Doctor’s nerves as he asked, her mother’s likely over-the-top reaction.  “When?” She tried to remember his schedule the last few weeks, but he’d been with her most of the time he wasn’t in his lab at Torchwood, and they hadn’t seen her parents except for the night they dropped Tony off for Rose and the Doctor to babysit while they attended an event. “Why?”
“You’ll have to ask him.”
“Oh, come on!”
-
Despite her best whining and pleading, she couldn’t get any more information out of her mother, eventually slinking home with more questions than answers.
When she walked into the house they shared, it was to find the Doctor in the kitchen, minding something on the stove as he sang along to Elvis, using a whisk as a microphone, complete with pelvic thrusts. Leaning against the doorframe, she just watched him goof around, her anxiety melting as love and happiness filled her.  She loved this man with everything she was, had moved heaven and earth (and time and space) to find him.  The future was bright with him at her side, whether they were traveling the universe or reporting to Torchwood every day.
The shock had mostly faded on the drive home, and as she examined her reaction, she was ashamed and annoyed to realize it stemmed, ultimately, from self-doubt.  That the same voice that had once warned her she’d never do better than Jimmy or Mickey, that had made her turn the Doctor down the first time he asked her to travel with him, was whispering in her ear that she wasn’t enough, couldn’t keep him happy, that he’d eventually grow tired of her.
That’s not true, she thought fiercely.  He chooses me, every day.  And he did; every day that he came home to their little cottage with her, babbling happily about his day.  Every night when he proved his love to her, first with words, then their bodies. Every time he’d come back from the shops with something not on the list, casually noting We were running low, figured I might as well buy it now rather than two days from now.
He’d come a long way from the bitter Northerner who complained every time they had to stop on Earth for milk, who in their early days traveling together refused to purchase more than a gallon at a time, remarking that odds were she wouldn’t still be with him long enough to use it, despite having the same argument week after week.
And even then he’d loved her, she knew now, could see it with the benefit of hindsight.  All the little ways his hearts bled through jumpers and leather jackets.  I’m so glad I met you.  Or I could save the world but lose you.
“Oi, Earth to Rose.”  Fingers snapping in her face pulled her out of her daze, and she blinked, looking into the Doctor’s brown eyes, warm and wide with concern.  “All right, love?  Something wrong?”
She smiled widely, tears pricking at her eyes.  “I love you.”  Fisting his tie she pulled him down to her, kissing him like it was their last kiss – but it wasn’t, it was the first, the first of their marriage, even if he hadn’t asked and she hadn’t answered.  “I love you so much.”
“I love you too,” he mumbled against her mouth.  His tone was confused, but he seemed content in his bewilderment, not questioning it further as their lips met again and again, reveling in the luxury of being together.
Rose thought about telling him, about confessing to her inadvertent snooping, or at least saying something to reassure him that her answer would yes, a thousand times yes, but her heart was too full, and the words wouldn’t come.
Instead, she asked if whatever was on the stove would keep – and when he said it would, turned off the burner and led him by the hand to their bedroom, pushing him onto the bed and enjoying his delighted befuddlement.
“How long are you going to stay with me?” she asked, settling astride his waist.
It took him a moment to recognize the question, his expression softening to daft love.  “Forever,” he vowed, just as she had done so many years before.
“Good.”
And it was.

Both me and Seungcheol where momentarily blinded by a bright light and as I squinted against the flash, Seungcheol groaned and lifted a hand up to shield his eyes. “Y/n?!” Soonyoung almost barked, both surprise and worry dripping from the way he pronounced my name. I blinked a few times to adjust to the darkness again as both Soonyoung and Jihoon lowered their girthy flashlights towards the dewy grass beneath us. Seungcheol walked over to the only car left and I could hear him talking to Jihoon by the luggage hatch of the car. The grass rustled slightly as Soonyoung strode over to me, a hand quickly reaching out to touch the now dried and coagulated blood that streaked my neck and shoulder. “What happened to you?” the male whispered; his eyebrows furrowed over his worried eyes as his irises flickered between my face and my neck and torn up clothes.
Even in the darkness I could see how his eyes gleamed with a slight sheen of anger, or maybe it was fierce worry. The want for revenge glinting in his eyes as he looked between the ripped fabric of my shirt to the wound on my neck, the splattered blood along my torso and then eventually back to my eyes. His hand fell from my shoulder to his side as he gave me another once over. “They’re dead, don’t worry about it.” I whispered as I turned to walk over to the car. “Jihoon got one of them in the back of the head and I planted another bullet right between the other guys eyes. Easy.” I chuckled, brushing it off slightly but mostly so he would stop worrying too much. Soonyoung followed right behind me, probably deciding to let it be for a while, and as I got in the car I noticed Vernon sleeping peacefully against the window in the backseat.
The trip back to camp consisted mostly of silence. Soonyoung had gently grasped my hand in the backseat and was slowly running his thumb across the back of my hand while Seungcheol drove. Jihoon had originally took the driver seat but we had to stop halfway because he got sleepy. The other guys had decided to leave with the first half of the group in the first car because they wanted to get the people who where already out back safe. Especially seeing as the young girl was only two years old and needed to be brought to a safe environment. And Jangmi, the lady who was pregnant, had fallen unconscious after they got her out so they had decided it would just be better for everyone to get out of there as quick as possible. I zoned out during Soonyoung and Seungcheol’s casual back and forth as I thought back to the image of Haru, Jihoon had told me that was the young girl’s name. How she had been giggling and laughing while playing with a bunched-up rag, and how she seemed so accustomed to all the horrors of this reality.
It only dawned on me right then how she had never known anything other than this. She had only been alive for two years; how could she fear situations like these if this is all she ever knew. As I sat completely drowned in my own thoughts, I felt a shoulder bump mine gently. I looked over at Soonyoung and only then did I realize I was barely holding back tears. He smiled gently at me before leaning his head into mine and letting me rest against his shoulder. And that is how I fell asleep. It had been an extremely long day, and I finally felt how tired I was, how exhausted and heavy my body felt. My limbs ached, I was in pain and my body had been ravaged by an unusual amount of adrenaline. And as I slowly fell asleep I felt Soonyoung gently envelop my hand with both his and the warmth felt so nice in that moment that if I wasn’t half asleep by then I swear I would have cried.
“Which one’s that?” Junghyun softly asked, a tiny hand pointed up towards the blacked-out sky. It was illuminated by thousands upon thousands of white glowing stars. “That’s orions belt, see how they’re all lined up perfectly?” I answered, my voice barely above a whisper as I looked over at the tiny boy. He continued to stare up at the sky, his eyes blown wide as he discovered more and more stars. I let my fingers drag over the dark blue fleece blanket cushioning the two of us from the hard concrete of the roof we where laying on as I absentmindedly stared off behind Junghyun. Eunju was sleeping a few meters away and Jicheol was sitting against the edge of the roof, leaning over and watching the darkened city. Everything was quiet. So, so quiet and dark. “Look, that one looks like a heart shape!” Junghyun mused, his tiny voice floating through the cold midnight air. I let out a soft chuckle, but it sounded more like a harsh breath. The sound of a few doves landing on a rusted antenna snapped me out of the half asleep state I had lulled myself into and I looked over at Jicheol who was still sitting in the same corner as before, now running his dull pocket knife along the edge of one of his frayed and tattered backpack straps. Everything seemed so still, almost normal for a few seconds and I found myself bittersweetly nostalgic as I remembered a time before all of this and how badly I wished I could have seen Junghyun grow up in the world I had experienced so many years ago.
I thought about how he would have run around, how he would have loved football and how he would have been a boy scout. Exploring nature and learning about space and stars and planets. Learning languages and multiplying and science instead of learning first aid, how to collect water from soil and how to load a gun. I let one of my hands stretch out to move some of the stray black hairs that had now fallen over his closed eyes. He needed a haircut; his hair was getting long. His cheeks where dotted with dirt and tiny scratches that almost looked like the constellations on the sky he adored so much. He looked so peaceful like this, sleeping without a single worry, resting. This was how I wanted to remember him as he grew up, I thought to myself. This is how he’ll live in my mind forever.
“Y/n?” a soft voice said, I could feel someone softly grasp my upper arm but I was so sleepy. I couldn’t tell where the voice came from or who it was, but somehow it didn’t scare me. The comfortable blanket around me and the warmth from Junghyun was way too comfortable. I was so tired too, I just wanted to rest. Just for one second. The doves above cooed, and the slight sound of the gentle wind blowing past the buildings and the rustle nature that was slowly overgrowing the concrete and asphalt of the city just lured me further into sleep.
The next time I opened my eyes there was a low sound of water running. A slow stream. Over me there was a strong light, almost completely white for a few seconds before my eyes could adjust. The sky above was blue, without a single cloud in sight. I could feel the grass sway softly with the breeze all around me. It was warm, but not hot. The wind felt amazing against my skin as it drifted past and lightly danced through my hair, which wasn’t tied up as usual. It flowed down along my shoulders and I could feel the tips of the strands tickle my exposed shoulders. The buzzing of a fly was suddenly audible on the left side of my head and I quickly stood up as I waved my hand around gently to shoo the insect away. I was surrounded by vast woods, tall pine trees and fresh green grass that tickled my shins as I took a few steps away from the position I had woken up in. There was a tiny stream cutting through the middle of the field but other than that there where just woods and mountains all around. I looked down on myself, unsure if I was dreaming or not. Was this real? Where was I? Am I dead? Is this heaven?
I was barefoot, the dampness of the soil beneath pressing against the soles of my feet. And I was wearing a familiar dress. A white one with a tiny blue ribbon tied around the waist. It was the same dress I had worn in my parents wedding when I was four. Except much bigger, and as I realized that fact, I knew I had to be dreaming. Or dead. I quickly looked up again. If I was dead, why was I alone? Where was Junghyun and Eunju? Dahye? My parents? Was I supposed to be alone even after dying? “Hello?” I tried, my voice raspy and hoarse. I cleared it slightly and tried again. No answer. Only the deafening sound of the water, and the occasional fly buzzing past my face. I stood for a few seconds, letting myself stand in the silence. I felt someone take my hand, first the left one and then the right. And just as I was about to turn around to face the person who had so gently held my hands my eyes opened, for real this time.
“Hi. Good morning.” Mingyu gently smiled as I met eyes with him. His large hand was clutching mine, while the other disappeared out of my line of sight towards my neck. I groaned as I felt a slight sting on the skin where his hand was. “Sorry. It’s antiseptic.” He whispered, looking at me with an apologetic smile. I rolled my neck as gently as I could, so I didn’t disturb whatever it was he was doing, and my entire spine cracked one joint after the other. The room was familiar, just like every other of the motel rooms of the camp. It wasn’t the same room as Seokmin had stayed in because the beds where placed differently. There where two beds on each side of the room here, and the identical dresser had been pushed in-between. “How’s everyone?” I asked, looking back at Mingyu as soon as I had oriented myself a little. He glanced between my eyes and my neck, skipping a couple beats before he answered. “Well, you’re the person in second worst shape and I guess that’s a pretty good starting point.” He hoarsely whispered back with a playful smile slightly tugging at the corners of his lips, before focusing completely on bandaging up my neck.
“You got five stitches and a good night’s sleep; you’ll definitely manage. Jangmi has pneumonia and is about 8 months along, Chan also suspects she might have preeclampsia but there is basically no way to be certain of that in this situation. It’s not looking too good.” He solemnly explained, his coffee colored eyes downcast as he put the final bandage over the stitches on my neck. I sighed, turning to look over at the other bed that was placed under the dusty window on the wall diagonal to where my bed was. “That’s Seungkwan.” Mingyu whispered as he got up to put the rest of the supplies away. “He’s just malnourished and tired. Vernon too, he’s in a bit more of a shock and doesn’t really say much but he asked about you. Jeonghan was covered in infected cuts but he’ll manage. Haru was in next to perfect health, but I think we’re seeing some separation anxiety symptoms. It’s not that bad but we’ll have to be proactive about it.” The tall man murmured as he turned his back to the beds to dispose of the used cottonpads and the bandage wrapper. He was wearing a burgundy hoodie that was way to small for him, so he couldn’t zip it up. “I’ll have Wonwoo bring you two some food, Chan will be by to check on your stitches a little later. We have to disinfect it three times a day because according to Jihoon whatever knife those guys used on you, it was rusty and dirtied up pretty badly.” The hoodie clad man moved over to the door, his voice still barely above a whisper as Seungkwan was still completely passed out in the bed beside mine. Mingyu stilled for a while, his hand holding the doorknob but not moving. I could hear faint talking and the sound of footsteps on the gravel outside. Mingyu turned to look over his shoulders, our eyes locking for the first time today. Had we stared at each other in silence for even a split second longer I would have busted out in an awkward laugh but just as I was about to look away, he smiled gently, his dark eyes looking so extremely sincerely apologetic. “Good to have you back, Y/n.”
I had been ordered to stay on bed rest for the day by both Mingyu and Chan, but after about 40 minutes of laying and listening to people go about their day outside and nearly praying that Seungkwan would wake up just so I could have someone to talk to, I took my chances and left the tray of half eaten food Wonwoo had brought earlier on the dresser and walked out onto the porch. The sun was shining, barely a cloud in the sky and I could hear Sun barking and the sound of a child laughing so happily it almost came out as a scream. There was a shadowed figure in the watchtower, and I recognized it as Minghao right away, the way his long hair fell over his eyes and into his face not hiding his identity very well. Not that hiding your identity was necessary right now anyway. The wind blew past, it was a little stronger today and I could feel slight goosebumps rise on my arms as I leaned onto the wooden bannister.
The wind took ahold of the treetops and swayed them gently. The sound of the leaves rustling, and the tall grass being tousled was oddly calming. It was warm for an autumn morning, but not hot. I looked over at the sound of a door opening and was politely greeted by Seokmin and a man I recognized as Jeonghan supporting the latter. “Morning!” Seokmin smiled, staggering slightly as he moved out on the porch. Jeonghan helped Seokmin waddle over to the bannister for support and as the younger boy assumed almost the same position as me, Jeonghan moved to stand in between the two of us. There was a beat of silence, the wind once again taking another hold of the very tops of the pine trees all around the camp. “I don’t think we got to formally introduce ourselves, I’m Jeonghan.” the man smiled, the previous bandages I had seen him with was gone now, replaced by some new, clean ones while some of the smaller cuts on his face had been smeared with ointment. He looked tired and unusually pale, but his smile and eyes read happy, almost thankful. I offered him a smile before gently responding with “Pleased to meet you. I’m Y/n.”

Final word count: 3898
Summary: After finally getting her freedom from mob life and putting her brother, James “Bucky” Barnes, behind bars with her testimony, a chance encounter with a wounded man puts everything she’s built for herself in jeopardy.
Tumblr media
Steve’s POV
This just wasn’t my day. I’d just pulled off a brilliant jewelry heist, only to get noticed by a passing patrol car while exiting the store.
Fuck my life.
It wasn’t always bad, at least not while I worked for Bucky. He was one hell of a crime boss and was more than fair to his employees, myself included. But now? He was in prison for 25 to life, because of a whack load of evidence and some pretty hefty testimonies. What was left of the empire he’d built was trying to survive.
That being said, fast forward to tonight. I make a beeline for the alley, my escape car parked two streets over, two-minute sprint through the back lanes. The cops started firing at me, I fired back. I managed to make it to the car and unlock the door before they rounded the final corner, weapons still drawn, bullets still flying everywhere.
Adrenaline was pumping wildly through my veins as I took off down the street, my unmarked Firebird screeching over the pavement. Taking back alleys and dark roads as much as possible, I finally managed to pull into a dark lot and ditch the car. I grabbed the jewels and ran for the underground sanctuary I had for emergencies.
I never made it there.
Reader’s POV
There are pros and cons to being a nurse. I get to help people, save lives, but the hours are shit. The only reason I stay is to help the patients. Well, that and money helps. Not that I need it. But I don’t like to use the other funds I have at my disposal, except in a dire emergency. They remind me too much of my brother and the life he had before my testimony put him away for life.
I was able to get into the witness protection program and have my name scrubbed from the testimony. I loved my brother, don’t get me wrong, but it was too much danger. My life almost ended a few times, but the last time was what made me turn. Not only did a rival family kidnap me, one of them almost raped me, and threatened to execute me. NOT FUN!
My brother killed them and rescued me, but I’d had enough. All I wanted was to live peacefully and without constant fear of being targeted by someone else. I changed my hair, my clothing, my looks, and my name, got a place in a different area of town, and was finally at a place in my life where I could just be me.
Well I was.
I went for a walk late, my German shepherd decided to fancy a stroll, and of course, how could I say no to that beautiful puppy face. I wasn’t worried about being attacked or anything, mostly because one look at Bowser (yes I named him Bowser), and most people crossed the street to avoid me. It was a nice feeling.
It was Bowser who noticed him first. I was completely in my own little world, enjoying the evening air, the stars. Bowser barked, whining as he strained against his leash, desperate to get to whatever was in the parking lot. I frowned. Bowser never behaved like this. It was unnerving to say the least. I followed my dog’s lead, and my jaw dropped at the sight of the man on the ground, unconscious, blood pooling from a wound in his side. I knelt down and check his pulse, and breathed a sigh of relief upon finding he wasn’t dead.
I went to call 9-1-1 and get an ambulance, but a hand reached out to stop me. “No cops. Please.” He croaked before passing out once more.
I frowned. I didn’t like the road this evening was heading down, and I certainly didn’t need to draw attention to myself. But I couldn’t walk away either. This man needed help, and I was the only person around who could get him the help he needed.
I checked around for security cameras around the lot, finding none close by, then checked the street. It was almost a god send that the streets were empty at the moment, and that my home was close by. I grabbed him by the arms, and dragged him back to my house, Bowser sticking close by, in case something bad happened.
Steve’s POV
I winced at the sunlight pouring in, it’s brightness blinding me something fierce. I had a massive headache, and on top of that, every movement shot burning pain through my abdomen. I gingerly moved my hand over the area and felt a bandage. Then I remembered seeing the blood seeping through my clothing right before I collapsed.
I’d been shot.
But I wasn’t in a hospital, nor was I in a prison medical facility. I was in a house. Whose house, I couldn’t say, but it looked feminine. The room I currently occupied had sunshine yellow walls, with decorative floral art pieces hanging from them. The furnishings were dark mahogany to contrast the yellow, and the bedding was a mix of pink and grey, with a quilted floral bedspread. It was actually quite breathtaking.
I tried to move, desperate to take a leak, only to realize three things.
1.       I was naked.
2.       It hurt to move.
3.       There was a massive German shepherd sitting at the foot of the bed watching my every move.
Fuck!
The dog whined and barked, drawing in a woman, no an angel. Her (H/C) hair flowed about her with fluid grace, in time with her body movements. Her skin was radiant, almost glowing in the sunshine lit room. Her (E/C) eyes were magnets, drawing me in like a ship to a siren.
My body certainly had no problems with her looks either, I could feel myself growing hard, and had to shift the covers to hide my obvious attraction.
“Going somewhere?” she asked, raising her eyebrow.
“I need to use the washroom.” I managed to speak with a somewhat normal tone. My other brain was screaming for me to take her and do wicked things to that delectable body of hers.
She cocked her head to one side, as if studying me. “Hmm. Ok. Here,” she tossed me a robe. “Put this on and I’ll help you to the bathroom.”
I nodded and slipped the white terry bath robe over my broad shoulders. It was actually quite roomy and comfortable. She blushed and turned away while I awkwardly stood and wrapped the plush material around my torso to cover my hard-on.
Once I was ready I cleared my throat and she turned back to me, then came to put my arm around her shoulders to support me while we journeyed to the washroom. Once there, she released my arm. “I’ll be here when you’re done. There’s a new toothbrush in there, and shaving products should you want to use them.”
I nodded and closed the door. After relieving myself, I washed my face and brushed my teeth. I didn’t shave, but made sure my beard was trimmed and clean. Once I was done, I ran my fingers through my hair, using a small amount of water to smooth down the stray hairs.
Satisfied with my appearance, I opened the door and, true to her word, the woman was leaning against the wall, waiting for me. She positioned herself on my sore side, taking my arm and wrapping it around her shoulders once more, and walked me back to the room.
My body reacted to her close proximity, her scent was intoxicating. Citrus and floral, a hint of vanilla and sandalwood. I fought the urge to take her against the wall, fuck her senseless, pound into her so hard that she wouldn’t walk straight for a god damned week.
Only the pain from the gunshot stopped me from my current fantasy. Carefully I sat on the bed and she helped me swing my legs up so I could lay back on the pillows she’d placed behind me.
“Stay.” She ordered, before disappearing from the room. Minutes later she returned with a tray containing a sandwich, some soup, and what smelled like coffee, along with a glass of water and what I perceived to be pain meds. “Do you take cream or sugar, and do you have any allergies?”
When I shook my head, she continued. “Here’s some T 3’s. They’ll help take the edge off the pain. After you’ve eaten, we’ll get you set up for a shower, then I’ll check and redress the wound. You’re lucky, you know. It was a through and through shot, and didn’t hit any major organs.”
I arched a brow. “How did you know it was a gunshot?”
“I’m a nurse.” She said simply. “Besides, I’ve seen enough of those kinds of wounds to last a lifetime. It’s not my first rodeo with this shit.”
I wanted to ask what she meant but decided against it. It wasn’t any of my business. But I could see a hint of what looked like regret in her gaze, along with sorrow, like she missed someone, family perhaps. She turned away and strode out of the room, leaving me to dig in to the feast before me. I hadn’t realized how hungry I was until now, the homemade broccoli and cheddar soup invading my senses, and the turkey bacon club sandwich that accompanied the hot liquid was divine. I took the analgesics and then quickly polished off the food before me, my stomach rejoicing as it received the tantalizing offerings.
My mind wondered briefly to the other things she’d said. Mostly, setting me up for a shower. I could barely stand on my own right now, maybe I could lean against the shower tiles for most of it, but getting in and out would be a challenge. What I wouldn’t give to have her in there with me, her hands sliding over my skin as she lathers soap over my body, caressing my shoulders, my abs, my aching cock. It was a wet dream right now, but damn, what I wouldn’t give to make it reality. To take her and make her mine. Permanently.
~~
Reader’s POV
I pride myself on my self-control, and my ability to do my job. Mr. Hunk wasn’t making my life or my job easy, that’s for sure. He’d been unconscious for two damn days, and I can’t even begin to count how many times I’d imagined what he’d feel like. I’m embarrassed to admit I’d masturbated a few times with him in my thoughts. It took every ounce of will power I possessed to clean and bandage his wound without running my fingers over his firm torso or those rock solid abs.
Last night I’d been so bold as to masturbate while watching him sleep. I imagined his fingers parting my folds, his tongue fucking me, his hard cock driving into me with wild abandon. I’d never reacted to any man like this. It was new and a bit frightening.
I’d kissed a few men in my 22 years, but I’d never actually done anything beyond that. James was very protective, and very intimidating. Any guy who met him usually took me on a very polite date, then I never heard from them again. After my brother’s incarceration I’d been so engrossed in work and changing my identity and address, I hadn’t really put any thought into dating
But now, with my overbearing sibling in prison, and this gorgeous man in my bedroom, the thoughts were most definitely there.
I walked back to the room after about half an hour, smiling when I see the empty tray. He was famished, as I’d guessed, and polished off the entire meal. “How was the food? Satisfactory, I hope?”
He grinned. “Beyond satisfactory. It was spectacular. Thank you. For all of this.” He gestured to his bandage and the tray.
I blushed and nodded, my eyes raking over his bare chest. “Your welcome. Now, we should get you showered and cleaned up so I can check that wound.”
He glanced at me, and I quickly averted my eyes. Had he seen me ogling him? Fuck.
“You should tell me your name. I want to know the name of my savior.”
My cheeks were crimson now. “YN.” I managed, my voice shy now.
He looked me over. “YN. It’s a beautiful name. I’m Steve.”
He held his hand out to me, and I took it. Instantly, sparks flew between us. He studied my reaction, and I couldn’t tear myself away from his blue eyes, sparkling like sapphires in the gleam of the afternoon sun.
I cleared my throat. “We should get you to the shower now.”
He nodded and I helped him stand. He turned to face me for a moment, and his head bent toward me, his lips brushing lightly across mine. He quickly straightened and apologized. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have done that.”
I frowned and helped him to the washroom. Had I done something wrong? Was I supposed to react differently? My hormones were screaming at me to kiss him, to inform him he hadn’t been out of line at all. I was simply surprised by the gesture. I wanted him to kiss me again actually.
My panties were wet with the thought.
I started the shower then blushed furiously as I turned to him, only to find that he’d removed the robe and stood in front of me in all his naked glory. Fuck! My panties, if they weren’t ruined before, certainly were now. I was gushing. I’m pretty sure I orgasmed from the sight of him.
As if sensing my lustful thoughts, he stepped closer to me, and gently wrapped his hand around the back of my head, tilting it up to meet his lips once again. The second our mouths connected I melted, and any resolve I’d been having went straight out the window. He lifted my shirt and tossed it behind him with his good side, then went to remove my bra. I worked swiftly at removing my jeans and my ruined undergarments, then I put my hand in his and led him to the shower. The steamy liquid washed down over us, and Steve winced as his wound made contact with the water.
“Careful. Just turn slightly away from the water. Partial contact will be easier to endure.” I whispered.
Steve shrugged. “I’ve got something to distract me from the pain.” He pulled me into his arms again as his lips crashed into mine. There was no gentleness there, just raw, savage need. I could feel the thick bulge of his arousal pressed against my belly as I pressed closer to him. God this man was fucking incredible, well endowed, and at this moment…mine.
~~
Steve’s POV
Pain was about the furthest thing from my mind. I was pretty sure this was heaven as I watched YN take some soap and lather it over my body, taking extra care around the bullet wound. Her hands caressed my back, my front, then she moved lower, giving my hard cock some much wanted attention. Her tongue flicked over my length, then dipped into the tip, swirling around the large head, causing it to jerk. I almost came right there.
“Careful sweetheart. You might make me come too soon.”
She stood and grinned while blushing. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to…”
I stopped her right there. “I wasn’t stopping you because I wasn’t enjoying your attention. Quite the opposite, actually. I was very happy with what you were doing. But I was hoping to finish in a different way.”
Her lips formed an ‘Oh’ while she turned a bright crimson. Could she really be that innocent? I was beginning to think she’d never done anything like this before.
We rinsed off and exited the shower, YN bending down to retrieve the robe from the floor. She wrapped it around me, then grabbed a towel for herself. Taking my hand, she walked with me back to the bedroom, where she had me lay down, minus the robe, while she put a fresh bandage on my wound. Once that was taken care of, she removed her towel and came to join me on the bed.
“How do you want to do this?” she asked.
I thought for a moment. I was in good enough shape to support myself with my good side, but I didn’t know if I could get all the momentum needed. The best option would be her on top.
“Straddle my hips.” I motioned with my hands, then I reached between us and felt her tight heat. She was so wet. Fuck! I slid my fingers along her slit, and she gasped when I slipped two of my thick digits inside her. Tight was in fact an understatement. I cursed then she moaned. My control was all but gone now, I wanted nothing more than to dive in.
So I did.
I lined up my cock with her entrance and after looking into her eyes, thrust inside. Her tight walls contracted as she struggled to adjust to my size. There was a brief flicker of pain in her eyes, but her smile told me all I needed. Then I was thrusting, slowly at first, making sure she was still ok, then I picked up speed.
She chanted my name over and over as she felt the first orgasm hit, throwing her head back as it washed over her. Her cries filled the room as my thrusts became more urgent, giving her more aftershocks.
“Steve…Oh God!”
Her words sent me into a frenzy as I hit my own climax, spilling inside her as her walls clenched around my cock.
Panting, she collapsed on top of me, then scurried to the side when I groaned. “Oh my god, sorry.” She immediately felt horrible for the faux pas.
“No worries.” I reassured her. I pulled her close to me our bodies relaxed from the mind-blowing sex we’d just participated in.
“Ok.” She said quietly as her eyelids closed, along with mine, our bodies resting together.

Reader’s POV
I woke first, glancing beside me, my cheeks flushed as I recalled what I’d done with this man. Carefully maneuvering out of his arms, not that I really wanted to, I got off the bed and went to check his wound. The vigorous sex we’d had last night hadn’t opened the stitches thankfully, nor had it caused any weeping. I breathed a sigh of relief and tugged on some sweats and a t-shirt. Padding to the kitchen, I set about making some breakfast, quickly deciding on pancakes and bacon.
Maybe it’s my inner consciousness chiding me, but I realize I know nothing about the man in my bed. I don’t know who he is or why he was shot. I don’t know fuck all really, apart from his first name. There’s a small part of me that thinks he looks familiar, but for the life of me I can’t place him. I shake the thought from my brain as I mix the batter and start frying the bacon.
I have coffee going and most of the food made when I hear footsteps behind me. I turn around and I’m greeted with soft lips on mine. “Morning.” His voice is husky and I feel myself growing damp once again. I never knew one man could have such a profound effect on me.
I smile and hand him a mug of coffee. “Morning yourself, sleepyhead. How do you feel today?”
He sat down at the table. “Not bad, better than yesterday for sure. Considering the activities of last night, I feel pretty damn good.”
I nodded as I put out the food. “That’s good.” I pause as I sit down across from him. “We should probably talk.”
He seems to think on that idea. “Yeah, probably. I’m sure you’ve got a shitload of questions about everything.”
“I do, though I probably don’t want to know the answers to them.” I answer truthfully. And I really don’t, for numerous reasons. What I don’t know can’t hurt me, well not directly. Or at least, that’s what I told myself.
He nodded. “I was seen by a patrol car leaving the scene of a jewelry heist. I was seconds away from a clean getaway. I ran, they chased, they shot at me, I shot at them…blah blah blah. You get the idea. Anyways, I got to my car and drove off, only to get out, make it about 20 feet, and collapse behind the dumpsters. You know the rest.”
I pursed my lips. “How did you get into this life? You’re smart, strong, and you seem to have a good head on your shoulders. You don’t seem like the type to just choose crime as a life goal.”
He looked down at his plate. “I was a street kid, orphaned when I was 11. This guy found me and took me in, gave me a place to stay and food to eat. I guess it was kind of like adopting, but he was only two years older than me. He had a family.”
My eyes widened. “Wow. So you stayed with his family?”
He shook his head. “No. He hid me at their family guest house for some years. No one ever used it, it was kind of like a prop on their land. So I had heat, running water, and shelter. The boy who’d helped me brought me some of his clothes and always visited me. My life would probably have ended years ago if he hadn’t found me.”
That uneasy feeling popped into the back of my mind again. I really hoped I was wrong with that thought. I remembered my brother spending a lot of time in our guest cottage. He never let me tag along, mostly cuz I was 4 and completely annoying at that age. But, he’d also warned me to never go near the cottage, else he’d beat me. Not that he ever laid a hand on me. It was just a warning, but one I took seriously at the time. He’d also warned me to never tell mom or dad about his frequent visits to the guest house. And I hadn’t.
I held my breath, debating whether or not I should ask the next question, the one that burned on the tip of my tongue. I would hate myself for asking, but I would hate myself more for not asking.
“What was the boy’s name?”
My blood froze when he answered, and not just from the answer, but from the tone of his voice. “You probably know him, since I saw a picture of him on your dresser this morning YN. His name was James, but everyone always called him Bucky.”

The Audacious Storybrooke Mirror Advice Columnist (Wednesday Paper Edition)
In which Lacey French is a smutty advice columnist for the Storybrooke Mirror.
Ch. 2: Gold discovers he sent Lacey the email
This took way too long guys, sorry!
A03
                                                   *-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-*
When Mr. Augustine Gold opened his eyes he had a three-to-four second grace period before he remembered who he was and where he was before his body announced its condition.
And, as always after a night like last night, it started with a blinding, pounding headache, followed by a wave of nausea, and soon, the cold sweats.
Groaning pitifully, he pushed through the stars flashing before his eyes and slowly eased out of bed sideways, holding his head. The room was dark as a tomb, but he could see he was still wearing yesterday’s suit, abet a bit more rumpled. He’d even worn his shoes to bed.
He kicked them off, his body jolting in pain from the movement, and he felt for his cane, having to practically crawl across the floor to get it.
The little light that greeted him in the hallway felt like a snakebite to his senses, and he almost screamed when he cut on the bathroom light.
He turned on the cold water but could not bend over without his head killing him so he cupped his hands and splashed the cold water in his face.
His hands were shaking as he opened his medicine cabinet and crammed down two Alka-Seltzers, three aspirin and a Valium.
Now all he needed was an ice-cold beer and he might live.
He felt his way to the head of the stairs and wondered how the hell he was going to get down them in his state.
Then he heard Jefferson snoring from the living room and he immediately returned to the bathroom and drank water from the tap.
Now slightly stable, he removed his clothes, crawled into bed and jacked his electric blanket on high, quickly drifting off to sleep.
It was just after noon when he awoke again. Now his stomach was hot and burning, screaming for carbs. He quietly unlocked his door and made the careful trip into the living room.
Jefferson was gone, thank Gods, and Gold grabbed his phone and called in an order for two grilled cheese sandwiches, a large fries and, for the hell of it, a chocolate shake. He rolled his eyes when granny charged him double for delivery, obviously sensing his massive hangover and choosing to punish him from it.
He devoured the food in barely five minutes, feeling disgusted with himself for more than just his eating habits. He fell into such bad habits when he was falling off the deep end again, and boy had he fell.
It would be easy to blame it on Jefferson, his tacky business associate and friend on a good day.
Last night had not been a good day, but somehow still lead to Jefferson coming by for drinks as he tried to help him create an online portal for his tenants to pay their rent.
It would take out the need for him to run all over town on rent day, Jefferson had explained, and Gold half liked the idea of not having to soak his leg for a week straight, so he said fine.
The website was forgotten about as soon as the hat-making fiend found the good scotch, and frankly Gold couldn’t remember what he did after that.
His computer was still on in his study, Gold discovered when he wondered around his home, picking up the remnants of the night before. An unfolded blanket here, several crystal glasses there.
A blurry memory was tugging at his brain and demanding he sit at his desk.
He obeyed, only because his body still hadn’t recovered. The memory was becoming clearer. Jefferson’s chaotic laughter as Gold did … something. He was sending out an email to someone, and no doubt had received a response by now.
Gold rolled his eyes and waited for his email to load. No doubt he had sent a grueling message to the mayor, probably something immature that Jefferson had egged him to send.
He blinked and saw that he had no responses, so he went to his Sent emails. One look at the last one he sent and his stomach lurched harder than any amount of alcohol could warrant.
“No…no, no, no!” Gold panicked, her name alone heating him and draining him all at once.
Racy Lacey. Lacey French. His tenant and the target of his desires for well over three years now.
He dared read the contents of the email and started shouting. He was going to kill Jefferson and then himself!
He grabbed his cane and marched back to his room, throwing on his rumpled clothes back on. Damn a hangover.
He’d tear Jefferson’s head off first, he decided as he descended down the stairs.
Then he’d dip his entire body into a vat of acid and use his skeleton as a prop in his shop, he agreed as he opened the front door.
All thoughts left him when the piercing blue eyes he often dreamed about met his, and her curled up fist knocked him in the mouth.
“Whoa! Sorry!” Lacey apologized.
Gold rubbed his lip, staring at the girl that had his heart in a painful knot.
“Miss French,” he greeted, trying to lay on an air of sophistication despite his appearance. “What on earth are you doing here?”
Lacey gave him an incredulous look. She recognized a hangover anywhere, and this one, judging by the tint of green to his skin was pretty bad.
She managed to keep from laughing and remain serious. After all, she was here to figure out if he really meant in his email, among other things.
Cruella had suggested she “jump his bones” at a hastily set up breakfast between them the morning after she had gotten the email.
She hadn’t revealed the name of her current admirer, just the text of it.
It could have been Leroy Miner for all she cared.
“This one looks serious, darling,” her equally lewd co-work had pointed out as she snuck a dose of Kahlúa into her coffee. “If you don’t grab him, I will.”
Cruella would need a whole cabinet of the stuff if she knew her “admirer’s” true identity.
A look over at Mr. Gold didn’t quite turn her on. Mind you, the rumpled look was indeed alluring, and the shadow of facial hair and mused hair had its own appeal.
But she wasn’t her to gander at her landlord, she was here to set him straight and bury this whole thing, no matter how it ended.
She held up a printout of the email he had written and watched as his mightier-than-though look quickly faded.
“You’ve got quite the talent,” Lacey said. “Though it’s a bit Harlequinn for my taste.”
“Did you come all the way here to insult me,” Gold growled. The email may have been a drunken spur, but he had meant every word he said. He did find her attractive, but that didn’t mean he was going to let her say whatever she wanted to him.
“Not at all,” Lacey returned. “I just wanted to know … well … what are we going to do about this?”
If Gold had more courage—or at least if he were les sober than he was now—he would tell her exactly what he wanted to do about this blunder. However, he was hungover and still in his bathrobe of all things and far from confident.
“Nothing,” he said, grabbing the email from her. “Forget about it and have your rent on time this month.”
Before he could slam the door and push her out of her life, her heeled shoe divided his door and the glare in her striking blue eyes threatened to do the same to him.
“Are you bloody kidding me?” she hissed, a bit loud.
“Miss French, control yourself,” he warned, sure he heard one of his neighbors doors open.
“I am in complete control, you wanker,” she shouted. “You’re the one that caused all of this.”
Gold fought the flush creeping up his neck.
Lacey crumpled the email in her hand, sick of this nonsense already. “Whatever, like I’d want to be seen with the likes of you.”
Gold scoffed, solidifying his hurt. “Same to you, dearie, Gods only know what you have at this point.”
Lacey paused and stared at him, the blush on her cheeks from embarrassment.
Gold shut his mouth. Why the hell did he say that? He didn’t mean a word of it! Not to her, never to her.
Lacey turned on her heel before he could say anything, and he almost went after her, but there were spectators watching them from their porches, and he only had the courage to slink back into his living room.
Lacey clawed at her face as she stalked back to the office, Gold’s email still curled up in her hand. She wouldn’t cry over him. Lacey French did not cry over men, though she could occasionally get them to cry over her.
The Mirror was mostly empty due to the lunch hour and Lacey allowed herself to stew in anger without having to explain herself.
She was grateful for the hum of her old computer through the silence. It was a comfortable familiarity. Many people hated their day-to-day jobs or even just lasted long enough to get their paychecks and leave.
Lacey legit liked her job. She didn’t live to work by any means, but she loved her role in creating the little glorified newsletter they pushed out every other day, like that people read and liked what she wrote and came back for more each week.
She liked the admiration and the scrutiny in all forms it came as. It made her life an adventure.
And currently her adventure had reached a stalemate.
Mr. Gold was an obstacle she could cross easily, but Mayor Regina fucking Mills was not.
The woman controlled the town, and one word from her would get her cast out.
Lacey felt sick as she logged into her account and gazed over the subject lines of her email.
All of these were too delicious damn it! How the hell was she supposed to keep this clean!
She threw her head back with a groan. All of these were too delicious! She was finished if she didn’t have something in by Friday.
She turned her head onto her cheek, glaring at the crumpled up email she wished she had thrown at Mr. Gold’s head. She picked at the ball until it unfolded to reveal its contents.
She reread it again, ignoring the little twist in her belly at the words.
Gold had a way with them, she’d give him that. She was sure he had the ability to woo a few women once upon a time.
Lacey lifted her head and scanned over the note again, an idea coming to her.
Gold wrote her a mesmerizing, flattering letter. Sultry, yes, but a few tweaks could have fixed that.
She wondered, what other words did Mr. Gold have under his belt, and just how well could he use them?

The better to taste you with, sweetheart
(Hayffie trick-or-treat 🧡 🔥 NSFW. Sexual content. Thanks @chocolateshipcookieblog for the prompt. This fic is a bit all over the place, but so is Halloween, so I just went with what came up. District 12 started feeling a little like Stars Hollow, so I kind of embraced that too. Now I can’t look at a lollipop without picturing it in Effie’s mouth, and I’m not complaining 🍭. Writing this was fun and touching.)
***
A fire burned in a wood stove in the corner of the Hob where people gathered for the town hall meeting. The large brick building held the chill of early autumn. Effie shivered, regretting her decision to wear only a sweater rather than a coat. She huddled close to Peeta. Sae’s granddaughter held Effie’s hand in a childlike way, swinging her arm periodically. Effie didn’t mind the connection with the unusual woman who was her neighbor now. That evening she appreciated the warmth of her hand.
“I told ‘em they were buildin’ this place too big,” Greasy Sae said matter-of-factly, not caring if the mayor or anyone in particular heard her or not. “A body gets cold in here no matter the size of the crowd.”
“Sure beats the heat in summer,” a man behind them said.
Effie peered over her shoulder and recognized him as one of the spice traders. “Spice” was a term used loosely in 12 to refer to dried roots, stems, bulbs, barks, and herbs, including tabacco and cannabis.
“Summer gets real hot.” He glanced at Effie from her forehead to her shoulders, then his eyes shot back up without gazing further. It was a look she knew well now. In 12, no one in his right mind stared wantonly at Haymitch’s girl, at least not openly, even when they were drunk or stoned.
The town hall had drawn a decent size crowd. More folks started showing up at those meetings once the council stopped hosting them every month and switched to quarterly. The people of each district had representatives and a governor, but those positions dealt with broad political issues, leaving local issues to be facilitated by a mayor and a town council.
It was Effie’s first autumn since letting go of her apartment in the Capitol, and Peeta was a dear to be joining her that night since she hadn’t wanted to go alone. She figured the only way she’d stop feeling like an outsider in 12 was to walk the line awhile between being present and being nonintrusive. She had a lifetime of experience walking lines much finer and more perilous than that one, so the task suited her.
The Hob filled with the fragrance of coffee brewing. People in attendance sipped mugs of it and devoured the muffins Peeta brought, baked with fruit from pawpaw trees. Katniss had encountered a grove of them in the woods. The fruit dropped in late summer and early fall, and Katniss gathered up what she found after hunts.
The mayor called the meeting to order and proceeded with the usual agenda: reconstruction updates, old business, new business, and so on. Effie was fairly bored until some new business sparked her interest.
“Since last year’s revival of All Hallows’ Eve was well received,” the mayor said, “The council invites all to attend this year’s festivities which will be held on the last night of October. We’ll have a bonfire again at the meadow’s edge to honor the departed. In the first two hours after sunset, everyone is encouraged to participate in the ancient tradition of guising.”
“Guising?” Effie murmured the question to Peeta.
He whispered back, “Dressing up in costume — mostly creatures from old stories. And going door to door after dark for treats — sweet foods, coins for children, liquor for adults.”
Costumes, sweets, money, alcohol... that sounded to Effie like regular living in the old days of the Capitol. But this tradition, one night each year under the cover of darkness, was something unique. In the Capitol they’d only celebrated national holidays.
The mayor continued, “Spread the word... anyone planning to offer treats, please remember to light a lantern or a candle on your doorstep in order to avoid the — confusion — we had last year.”
“Confusion?” Effie quietly asked Peeta again.
“Pranks on people who were home but not answering their doors: knocking late into the night, tossing a few eggs at windows, minor mischief.”
Effie could guess who probably refused to answer his door. This year that was going to change if she had anything to say about it, which of course she did.
***
On the last evening in October, Haymitch slouched on the sofa in front of a fire with his feet propped up on the coffee table. The flames burned low, but he felt too lazy to add another log. He reached instead for his glass of whiskey.
He could already hear people gathering near the meadow. Bonfire, music, dancing... traditions to honor the dead. Folks were saying that a long time ago All Hallows’ Eve was celebrated as some “sacred” night when the “veil between worlds” is thin and the dead are close. Katniss had a few memories of her father telling *ghost* stories that his mother used to sing about. The old lady had been a strange one for sure. To Haymitch it all seemed like load of horse shit since “dead” meant decayed to bones, then nothing and gone forever.
“Traditions” for Haymitch had always meant the ones that happened under Snow’s control. Reaping Day had been the big “holiday.” Work paused and citizens dressed up. Those were government orders. Eventually people shamed their neighbors who didn’t stop working and didn’t wear nice clothes. They no longer needed government to do the punishing about not following traditions because people did it to each other. Families whose children didn’t get reaped celebrated quietly, behind closed doors, reserving special food for the occasion if they could afford to do so. *Holiday traditions* didn’t sit well with Haymitch.
“Manners!” Effie scolded as she approached from the kitchen and saw his bare feet on the coffee table.
“Loosen your corset. There’s a coaster right here.” He said it without looking at her.
Not wanting to start an argument just then, she bit her tongue as she moved toward the fireplace. “I’m not wearing a corset tonight.”
His peripheral vision caught a flash of red, and he turned to watch her. She wore a velvet cloak buttoned down the front. She pulled off a long satin glove before grabbing a log to throw on the fire.
His eyes passed over her from head to toe then back up again. “What’s this?” he asked, with a smile on his face.
She slipped her glove back on and confronted him with her hands on her hips. The hood of her cloak was pulled up, and her hair peeked from beneath, framing her face in blonde curls. Her makeup was light, apart from her lipstick which was as crimson as blood.
“My costume, for guising.”
His expression was a mix of intrigue, amusement, and irritation.
“I told you weeks ago that we’re going, and I mean it! Posy’s already on her way over here. I’m paying that girl a small fortune to hand out cookies and quarters and whiskey, so Hazelle doesn’t have to wash dried egg off YOUR window panes tomorrow like Peeta said she had to do last year.”
“Whiskey?! I didn’t agree to give out liquor to freeloaders.”
“Everyone is doing it. You’ll be receiving as much as you’re giving away.” Effie sat beside him on the couch, crossing her legs so the cloak parted near the fur-lined hem where she’d left a couple of buttons unfastened. Above knee-high boots, her thighs were covered in lace stockings.
“You’ll be wearing that?” His mouth watered for treats other than food and drink.
“All evening.”
He reached out to her thigh, but she smacked his hand before he could touch her.
“What the hell!” He sat up straight, aroused by the sting of the slap as much as by her appearance.
“You get to touch me when we’re out of the house, not before!”
“That’s extortion.”
“That’s PATIENCE... and holiday spirit!” She softened the blow by adding, “...I’ll be touching you too — if you want.”
Yeah, I want. “No corset? Hmmm. So what are you wearing under that cloak?”
“You’ll see tonight — after we visit everyone, and we’re home.”
“That’s more extortion!”
“That’s more patience.”
“And what am I supposed to wear?”
“It doesn’t matter, honey. With me dressed like this, they’re not going to be looking at you.”
***
Twilight was fading, and the last trace of blue drained from the sky. Effie had never seen more stars than she did when looking up from the clearings of 12. She slipped a flat round disk of hard candy from a wax paper sleeve and held it up by its wooden stick.
“Shine the lantern on it,” she directed, “I want to see the color.”
The lantern swung casually at Haymitch’s side. He didn’t lift it up. “Why’d you insist on us bringing this thing when we could each be using a flashlight? Or better yet, sitting at home where there’s electricity. Or lying in bed pretending we’re not home.”
“If we’re in bed, then people coming to the door are going to know we’re home. I wouldn’t be quiet, and you’d wind up smothering me with a pillow.”
“That sounds accurate.”
“Besides, where’s your sense of adventure?”
“Too dark to find it.”
“What’s too dark — the night or you?”
“Both.”
She stopped walking, and he followed suit. With him it was always easier to catch flies with honey. She slid the basket of gathered treats over her wrist. It was growing heavy with pastries, fresh and dried fruits, nuts, and confections like taffy from the sweet shop in the Hob.
She reached above the zipper of his coat and stroked the hollow between his collarbones. “I like the darkness in you.”
“Flattery will get you nowhere when I’m freezing my ass off.” Her fingertips were warm, red satin against his throat. The gloves stretched from her hands to her elbows. When she’d pulled them on earlier that evening, he wanted her to touch him right then.
“Let’s see...” She moved her hand away. When he was about to protest, she nestled her body against his and slipped her gloved fingers beneath his coat, into the back waistband of his pants. “Your ass is still here, and it’s not frozen.”
She teased his flesh without grasping, drawing him out with her, not home for sex. He felt the difference. If he wanted something now other than this “guising” nonsense, then he’d need to do some coaxing of his own.
He encircled her waist with one arm and murmured against her temple. “Why do you need a lantern when you can just taste the thing?”
With her hand in his pants, her mind started spinning things she wanted to taste. The heels of her boots brought her mouth up close to his. He smelled like the wool hat and sweater he’d dug out from the cedar chest, the ale they’d been given at the previous house, and bites of chocolate.
“What ‘thing’ would I be tasting?”
“That lollipop ...unless you have something else in mind.”
Even as she clenched the thin wooden dowel, she’d forgotten it. “A lick would be good...” She touched the tip of her tongue to the corner of his mouth. “...But maybe I’ll need to suck on it awhile.”
Reluctantly she slipped out from the warmth of him and pulled away, transferring the basket of treats back to her hand.
He lifted the lantern, otherwise it would have been too dark to watch her suck on that stick of candy, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to miss that.
She opened her mouth slowly and met the lollipop with her tongue, then lingered a moment before drawing the candy inside. She pursed her lips around the stick, and her cheeks sucked in. Her tongue moved side to side awhile, savoring the flavor. When she pulled the stick out, her lips were still puckered. The candy followed, glistening in the lantern light.
Her mouth turned up at the corners. “It’s okay to blink now,” she said.
He cleared his throat. “So how does it taste?”
“Find out for yourself.”
She held out the lollipop, but he didn’t take it. Instead he wrapped his hand, gloved in leather, around her satin-clad one. He tugged her toward him, and tasted her. She was sticky sweet, like white sugar sprinkled over warm berries.
The kiss sent the sweetness coursing through her. Her breath came out in a rush over his tongue. He felt it everywhere.
“Damn, Effie. Let’s go home. I wanna take off your cloak. I can hardly feel anything with these gloves on.”
He was tempting, but she steeled herself against temptation. “Not yet. We haven’t been to the mayor’s house or the bonfire.”
“The bonfire? Shit. You didn’t say anything about that.”
“It was implied.”
In the lantern light, she watched him scowl.
“Implied...” she leaned in again and murmured against his neck, “...Like the sex we’ll be having later. I didn’t say anything about doing that either, but you know we will.”
“Fine. ...While I’m waiting, feel free to keep sucking on that candy.”
Effie slid the basket over her wrist again, laced her fingers with his, and enticed him with the lollipop between her lips as they strolled on.
***
“Ah, what do you know! It’s Haymitch Abernathy, out on All Hallows’ Eve. Effie, you’ve accomplished a miracle.” The mayor poured them each a cupful of brandy.
“This is WONDERFUL, Taylor. It’s the council that’s accomplished a miracle.” Effie sipped the drink. The ability to make small talk with anyone was a long rehearsed part of her skill set.
“You are dazzling in red. Why don’t you wear that color more often?”
“I save it for special occasions.”
“Haymitch, who are you supposed to be? ...The woodcutter?”
“I’m pretending to be a nice guy.” He downed the brandy in a single gulp.
“Ah, a wolf in sheep’s clothing! Well, ‘nice guy’ looks much better on you than the *grumpy old man* costume you wore last year.”
“Very funny...”
Effie half-expected the words to be followed by a snide “sweetheart.”
The mayor dropped a brown paper package tied with blue ribbon into Effie’s basket of treats. “Fudge. From the sweet shop. After last year’s pumpkin explosion, I’ve sworn off baking.”
“When I visit Peeta or Sae’s kitchens, they make me sit on a stool and drink coffee.”
“That’s not a bad deal.”
“I agree.”
The mayor glanced around, then whispered, “Truth be told, I overcooked the pumpkin intentionally, figuring I’d be spared future requests for baked goods. But the explosion was a surprise.”
“My lips are sealed.” Effie finished her drink, and they handed the glasses back to the mayor.
“I’m heading to the bonfire. How about you two?”
“We were just about to—“ Effie started, but Haymitch interrupted with his hand on her back.
“—make another stop. Maybe we’ll see you later.”
***
“What other stop?” she asked when they were walking on the road again.
He slid his hand up her back and grasped the nape of her neck, caressing her through the velvet. “I didn’t get all *dressed up* tonight to spend time with the mayor. I wanna be with you.”
She wrapped her arm around him and hooked her thumb on his waistband. “I want to be with you too. It’s almost too bad there are people crawling all over town tonight.“
“Come here.” He lead her around the side of the Hob.
“I am NOT making out with you behind the dumpster!”
“Keep going. I know what you like and what you don’t.”
The back of the building was steeped in shadow. There were a couple of pallets stacked high with wood for the stoves. He lead her along the narrow passage between them to a spot sheltered under the eaves.
He took the basket from her hands and set it on the ground along with the flickering lantern. She smiled as she backed up against the brick wall. “Do you bring all the girls here?”
“Just you... Red.” He pulled off his gloves and dropped them beside the basket. “I’m done waiting to touch you.”
He held her hips and pulled her lightly against him. One hand shifted to the small of her back. The other brushed her bottom lip with his thumb. The crimson color lingered elsewhere now, on the rims of unwashed liquor glasses and a discarded lollipop stick. Her lips parted, naked and soft.
“I want this mouth on me.”
“Where, honey?” She was already inching down the zipper of his coat.
“You choose.”
She snuggled against his sweater. His body was warm and hard, and she immediately wanted more than what she felt was accessible in the shadow of the Hob.
Her hands touched him first before her mouth. Satin fingertips traced around his coat collar, pushing it low. She sucked the tendons on the side of his neck, up to his jaw and back. Then she bit down.
He flinched, groaning in a mix of pain and pleasure. He gripped her wrists, holding her against him rather than pushing her away. “Is that how you want to play this?”
“Uh huh,” she mumbled against his neck, kissing gently now. “I’m making some marks. Everybody in this town is treating me like I’m *yours*. If that’s how it’s going to be, they should know you’re mine too.”
“I haven’t been telling ‘em anything.”
“They know it just the same.” She plucked kisses like a rope around his throat, then bit him on the other side.
He let it all happen, anticipating the sensations, and flinching again. He nudged her against the wall, letting her feel what she was doing to his body. “You know, I can get you off right here,” he said.
The same force that spent a decade pulling her to 12 was tugging at her now. Everything inside her melted like that lollipop in a mouthful of hot brandy. The temptation was too much. “We have to be quick. Anyone might find us.”
“So what? If they see you fucking me, that’ll offer ‘em more clarity about us than you biting up my neck.”
“Haymitch, there are children!”
“So we’ll keep our clothes on and stay quiet... mostly. No kids are gonna be scarred — not even you, sweetheart.” He toyed with the top button of her cloak.
“How do YOU want to play this?” she asked.
“I wanna see you.” He unhooked the buttons, keeping his eyes fixed on hers, waiting to take in the sight of her all at once, whatever it might be.
After the last button was unfastened, she didn’t wait for him to open her cloak. She did it herself.
Damn... She’d been walking all over town wearing nothing under that thing except a white neglige and a thong. Both were made of some sheer fabric that hid little to nothing of her. The thin silk straps around her hips matched the ones over her shoulders.
“Effie...” He wanted her. Every bit of her. And he knew the thing that people had been thinking was true. She had him. Nothing was changing that, unless he drank himself to death, or she left him — whichever came first. Later, when more blood was flowing to his brain, he might be afraid of that awareness. But for now he was hers.
“Surprise.” She beamed. “You better come closer, or I’m going to be the one freezing my ass off.”
His arms went around her within the cloak, and he crushed her against him, taking in the sensations of her with his hands and mouth.
Her palms skimmed up his back under his shirt. “Closer...” she urged.
“You first.”
She’d spent a long portion of her life in gloves. Her fingers were nearly as dexterous within fabric as they were bare. She opened his pants and pulled his dick into her hands, working him between her palm and fingers. He thought about letting her make him come like that. But he wanted to be inside her.
His hands were warm when they slipped into her thong, bracketing her with fingers in her folds and spiraling just above. When he touched her, everything quickened. She stroked him with insistence and moved against his hands with rapid cadence.
Far too much noise was coming from her throat. “Where’s that pillow so I can smother you?” he teased.
“Just fuck me,” she pleaded, “Now before we’re arrested.”
He untangled his hands from her thong. She lifted one of her legs, and he hiked it up in the crook of his elbow, flattening his palm against the wall. The heels of her boots brought her up to a perfect height to fuck like this. She slid her thong to the side, and he dipped within her — plunging, stirring. She met his thrusts with her own.
He clutched her waist and pressed her against the bricks, commanding stillness. “Don’t move your hips.”
“What!” she huffed, “Fuck you, Haymitch! I’m so close.”
“PATIENCE,” he teased with her inflection in his voice, “Wait for it, and it’ll be better. You know I’m right.”
She knew.
He was close too. She was all satin and velvet inside and out. Her breasts brushed against his sweater. It was so much.
She was crying out, and “Shhh” was accomplishing nothing. He covered her mouth with his palm. His pinky pressed against her nostrils. She could breathe, but barely. They’d played this game before. Adrenaline surged through her body as she came undone. She clung to his neck as her thighs shook. Her whimpers passed through the closed slits between his fingers. Her eyes were wild in shadow, never leaving his.
“I know, honey. I’m right here... Oh, fuck. I know... Goddamn it... Effie...” He heard her name several times as he climaxed. He must have been the one saying it, since his hand was still covering her mouth.
When he let go of her, she sucked in the night air, still clutching his neck. She was high. So high like this.
“Are you okay?” He panted.
She caught her breath. “The mayor, Greasy Sae, the damn spice trader, they’re all right... I’m yours. I just am. It’s like breathing. Even when it’s hard to do, I’m still yours.” — It was the closest she would come to a declaration of love.
Her words moved through him like the music he heard in the distance. He was chuckling, not knowing exactly why. Release mostly. The lantern flickered near their feet. The hood of her cloak had slipped back, and her curls were stretching into wisps, fatigued like his body. She was so beautiful.
“I’m pretty sure my neck is bleeding now, so apparently that makes me yours too.”
“Oh...” Oxytocin was working its magic, and she filled with empathy. She pushed the coat off his shoulders so she could see. Her teeth marks were there, but no blood was dripping. She slapped his chest. “You’ll live.”
They pulled apart far enough to put themselves back into a semblance of order: readjusting, covering, zipping, and buttoning up. Then he held her until she was warm enough to move out again into the night.
***
They returned to the road, rather than cutting through the meadow. Yeah, “dead” meant decayed to bones, then nothing and gone forever, but Haymitch still didn’t want to be walking across a mass grave, no matter how thick the grasses were growing, no matter that flowers would pop up in spring.
Effie felt the energy of the evening diffusing. Sparks from the bonfire floated away on the breeze with red maple leaves. Haymitch carried her basket in the crook of his elbow where her leg had been settled a short while before. In that same hand he held the lantern. Both of her arms wrapped around his free one, the way he held her sometimes in sleep.
That night, children who had never known the Games wore their blankets around their shoulders to be heroes or over their heads to be ghosts. They cuddled their blankets in their arms as they grew tired and snuggled against their parents, or whoever they had left to love them. Effie’s Nana had held her like that, once upon a time. Many years passed before she experienced again that quality of feeling.
She squeezed Haymitch’s arm tighter, and her eyes filled with tears. If someone had asked her all the reasons why, she couldn’t have told them. Some emotions are too layered to translate into words on cards. They’re unexplainable to an audience of even one.
She paused. “Let’s go home.”
“No bonfire?”
“Not tonight.”
“Okay. Ain’t nothing there that you and I don’t already have right here.” — It was the closest he would come to a declaration of love.
Whether they were taking the path of pins or the path of needles was irrelevant. The thing they had — the one that drew him out and filled her up —was always leading them the same place.
“Let’s stop first at the kids’ porch.” Effie added, “Peeta told me he was dressing up in Katniss’s hunting jacket, and he was going to try to wrangle her into wearing one of his aprons.”
“That I’d like to see... But don’t go getting any ideas.”
“Don’t worry. I wouldn’t be caught dead in that hat of yours, and there’s no way I’m letting you borrow this cloak.”
“The mayor did say I look dazzling in red,” he joked.
“Well, I wouldn’t want to disappoint the mayor. ...I’ll let you wear my lipstick.”
“Only if you kiss it onto me then kiss it right off again.”
Some *traditions* might not be so bad after all.

Maybe he’d shown Crowley how to perform a few miracles, but that Crowley had taken to them so well was surely a sign that he wasn’t all bad. (14k) Wine Fraud and Other Worthy Pursuits by ImprobableDreams900  / @improbabledreams900
When Aziraphale, rare book dealer and part-time wine collector, encounters a bottle of 1844 Château Lafite-Rothschild he suspects isn't all that it claims, he becomes determined to track down the truth.
Unfortunately, the finger of suspicion seems to point at fellow wine collector Anthony J. Crowley, whom Aziraphale is already well on his way to befriending.

Tattoos are like stories you write on your skin, and they'll say things for you if you'll let them. Or perhaps prompt other people to say things.
Or, Crowley is just drunk enough to get bold and let his guard down, and it leads to something he never thought he'd be allowed to have.

Said I, a few weeks ago: "I feel there’s also room for e.g. bedsharing fic where the apocalypse has Not Happened and they’ve fallen into queerplatonic (or so they think) bedsharing and Crowley thinks he’s alone in being driven slowly to distraction by it, so he says nothing. Then one night he wakes when it’s still dark, and at first he doesn’t know why, until he hears Aziraphale’s breathing a little raspier than usual, and feels the very slight trembling of the bed."

For most of history, since he narrowly avoiding Falling from Heaven with Lucifer, Crowley has been working for the Angelic Corruption Unit. This ended up being far more boring than he hoped it would be, but things change when he is assigned to go undercover on Earth. His mission is to investigate Aziraphale, an infamous angel who has been on Earth since its Creation, and whom Heaven is sure is guilty of corruption or dereliction of duty.

Chapter 5 | Chapter 7
In a moment, Poe had crossed the distance and pulled her in close. He looked in her eyes, and she tore her eyes away from his lop-sided grin to meet his.
“Remember what I said earlier? Forget it.” Then his mouth was on hers: hot and hungry. She moaned deeply into the kiss, all the frustration from earlier coming out at once. She moved against him, deepening the kiss and meeting his tongue. They stumbled back to the bed, a fit of laughter flying from her lips, which were quickly captured in another kiss. She felt the weight of his hands slipping under her shirt, and she ran her hands through his hair roughly, tugging a bit as she went. He moaned with each pull, and traced hot kisses up and down her neck, lightly grazing with his teeth when he hit her sensitive spots. She unbuttoned his shirt, and let her hands roam up and down his chest and stomach, only barely stopping at the fuzz of hair at his belt. He pulled the shirt off of his shoulders, and all at once tugged hers off. Then his hands were on her again, pulling her bra off, mouth lazily kissing her breasts, tongue swirling her nipples, teeth grazing the sensitive skin. Dary could hardly breath, but managed to whimper his name. She felt him grin around her, and start a quick path down her stomach to her pants.
“I have a better idea,” She told him, confident from the moans she had already caused. “On your back, General.” She commanded him, stifling a giggle. He stopped his downward path and met her eyes with his own, she noticed how dark they were, how hungry. He hesitated, and she pushed him over. She stood up quickly, and pushed her pants down, revealing herself completely. His darkened gaze explored her, and then she was undoing his pants. The activity distracting her from her bold move. She gasped softly at him when she had the pants off. He was well endowed, and she couldn’t wait any longer. She quickly climbed over him and pulled his entirety in her mouth. He moaned loudly at the warmth of her mouth. She lazily pulled him out, a soft pop, and teased his head with her tongue. She rubbed her hand up and down his shaft, working his head, before easing him back down her throat. When his head hit the back of her throat, he let out a groan, and she felt him shudder under her. She pulled him out again, and worked the shaft more with her hand, rolling in easy, slow circles. She savored each moan and stutter and whisper of her name or expletive, and soon had worked him to climax. She felt his balls tighten in her hand, the vein pulse under her tongue and the force of his cum hit her throat. Eagerly, she swallowed him down, and kissed his hip bones before lying down beside him.
“T-that was…” He smiled, exhausted, and turned to her, giving her a lazy kiss.
“Well, I know you were stressed before. Thought this might help.” She said, laughing. He breathed heavily beside her, and then rubbed her thigh. “I can return the favor, you know.” He looked up at her, under thick eyelashes, voice thick with desire, and she simply nodded, feeling the heat in between her legs. He smiled rakishly, and lazed his way down her body, licking and sucking as he went. He rolled her slightly, to be flat on her back, and fitted himself between her legs. He lay there, motionless for a moment, until she raised up and looked at him.
“You’re so fucking sexy.” He told her, his voice loaded. She moaned, and lifted her hips a little. He laughed. “Calm down, I’m coming.” And then he was on her. The sensation exploded behind her eyes, and her breathing quickened immediately. She was already so wet from the show she had put on, and getting him off, but his mouth on her had rushed her to her pleasure. He sucked gently on her clit, before moving further down to lick and suck her up. He worked his way around, up and down, moving his nose against her clit, and gently using his fingers to rub her. Every move was too good. His movements were too methodical, too calculated. Without even putting a finger in her, he had her coming on his mouth. She whimpered his name and clenched her thighs, and he kept on, rubbing and coaxing it out of her.
He pulled away, after a last kiss on her pulsing heat, and dropped beside her on the bed. She curled up beside him, and he wrapped his arms around her. She knew that the storm was inconceivably bad timing for the base, for the resistance, and for Poe; but she was thankful for it. She laid her head on his chest, his fingers in her hair, and she fell right asleep. ~~
In the morning, when Dary awoke, Poe was gone. She felt the bed beside her and it was stone cold; long gone. She stretched, and pulled her clothes on. She wasn’t familiar with the base, and wasn’t technically supposed to be there, so she wasn’t sure what to do. She poked her head out the door, and no one was out. She followed the general path that she remembered from the day before, and found herself back in the hangar. The bay was opened again, the storm had passed in the night she thought, and looked down the row of ships for the one her and Poe had arrived on. That’s when she saw him, talking with Lonno, dressed for flight.
She moved across the hangar quickly, her face flushing. Clearly, she had read too much into what had happened. Clearly, the rumors were true. Nothing romantic about riding back with your one night stand, she thought angrily, blinking back tears. Neither man acknowledged her as she approached, nor when she came to a halt beside them. So she didn’t say anything either. The trade off was quick, and without talking to her, Poe climbed into the ship. She followed suit, and they were taking off.
She was thankful to be riding in front. She was also thankful that she could mute her own headset. She fought the tears as they came. She felt humiliated, and childish. She was into it, and it’s not like there was any promise made. She had just felt like, maybe, there was more to it. He had taken her to that beautiful place, and kissed her so gently. She wiped her face, and bit her lip to distract herself. She would distract herself. She would do anything but think of the man behind her.
“Sorry we had to rush out of there, the intel came in in the middle of the night. I wanted to let you sleep.” Poe’s deep voice told her, filling her ears. She flinched against it. “Lonno was relentless this morning, so I had to leave before you got up.” He explained, smoothing the edges without knowing what they were. “You probably thought the worst. Sorry, really. I’ll make it up to you at base. Y’know after I pass off my intel.” She could hear the smile in his voice, and nodded, before realizing that he couldn’t see her she answered. Then realized she was still muted. She switched her com on.
“What did you have in mind?” She asked, a smile dancing on her own lips. She had assumed the worst. She was kicking herself for getting so bent out of shape without having the full story.
“A few things, actually.” He said, voice low and dangerous. She laughed in response, only imagining the face he was pulling.
~~~
“A ‘congratulations’ is in order!” A familiar booming voice echoed out from behind Dary. She was stretching in the dense vegetation. She had taken an early morning run to clear her mind. She had to steal these moments, as they didn’t come naturally for her. A grin broke across her face as she turned to meet him. She consciously smoothed her messy bun as she took him in. Poe always looked immaculate, and this morning was no different. She blushed a little, thinking about how disheveled she looked. Her running gear was old, and she knew she was sweaty. The rough terrain was perfect for training, not perfect for looking amazing.
“Ah, that was nothing. I haven’t broken Rey’s record or anything.” Dary said with a smile.
“Not the run, kid. You just got promoted.” Poe explained, coming to stop before her with his hip cocked to the side. A perpetual bow leg, she thought. A true pilot’s form. He had been gone for another week, and she hadn’t heard from him. They hadn’t really talked since the intel mission.
“A promotion? I haven’t heard anything about that.” Confusion crept in, and she furrowed her brow. Surely, she would know. Then she remembered his position. It was easy to forget that the man in front of her was basically the head of the resistance these days. Of course, he would know if she had moved ranks.
“Well, it’s official as of an hour ago! Welcome to Gold team, Darial.”
“Gold? That’s...that can’t be right. No one moves from Green to Gold!”
“You did,” He said simply, shrugging off her disbelief.
“You didn’t…” The words died on her tongue. She couldn’t form the accusation, and only partially because she didn’t think he would do that.
“Of course not, Dary,” He scoffed, and she felt embarrassed to have even mentioned it. “You earned this.” He told her with an undertone of fierceness she hadn’t heard before. “Anyway, Gold Six, you’re to report to your new leader.” He muttered, before turning on his heel. She had offended him, and she hated that he was bristling because of her. She hadn’t meant to question his integrity. Not really. She just couldn’t believe she had leapt so far, so quickly, on her own. Dary was a lot of things, but she didn’t think she was that good of a pilot. And it was too big a coincidence that after a week of nothing, not a word one, he would come to her with news this big and not say anything else?
She was confused, mostly, but a little apprehensive. She made her way back to base for answers, any answers.
