fanfic ideas

(i would totally write these if i felt motivated. but i don’t. so now u have to listen to me.)

fandoms i had in mind: south park, unwind dystology, tcoaal. but these can be used for any fandom.

a/n: HI HELLO i would like to see these happen. so im dumping it on YOU. you’re welcome. most are x reader focused bc i have wrote those all my life, but u can switch these up idgaf

— instead of tolkien and his parents moving in across tegridy farms, it’s y/n. yeah that’s all i got

— doubling down except heidi’s y/n, and y/n doesn’t get back with cartman.

this was one i attempted writing a WHILEEE ago but never really. yk. got the hang of it.

but basically to sum the idea up, it’ll be the entire doubling down episode except extended. like, it could play it longer and extra scenes (ex. extension of the dinner scene where they make fun of cartman to heidi, every scene in the montage written out)

— childhood best friends to enemies to lovers where y/n had a big fight w the love interest days before they moved. but then they move back to south park and (not surprisingly) they got a glow up and they’re hot now! so everyone tries to flirt w them but the love interest catches their eye and they’re still enemies ofc but they catch feelings

— this is more of a oneshot, but y/n asks someone (or a set of people) to get matching sanrio pajama pants. yeah. do whatever stinks

— high school au. where y/n is a sad emo loser and the love interest is popular. and they lose a bet and have to ask solemn little y/n out but y/n says yes so the love interest is like “….. im gonna break up with them after three months.” but (spoiler alert) THEY FALL IN LOVE!

bonus points for angst w happy ending. like y/n finds out about the bet or something and then the love interest is like “NO PLS. I NEED U. U DONR GET ME” and they’re vulnerable and desperate and y/n’s like “okay! 😊😊”

idea. hi. i have idea. y/n gets bullied for dating love interest so they’re protecting sad little y/n bc they feel bad and it’s really cute and love interest thinks “…….:…. why is y/n kinda cute.”

— me trying not to mention unwind au whenever i think of writing fics for other fandoms. NO BUT SEEEEE it would work so well. like maybe the graves parents wanna unwind ashley and andrew somehow finds out so him and ashley run away (andrews.. uh, 17? and ashley’s 15 prob. u gotta know the unwind lore for this to work)

— 1980s AU OMG where it takes place in the united states (did europe have a lot of arcades back then? but anyways. the united states had more arcades so let’s just say it takes place there) and andrew is the sad emo loser at the prize counter.

and y/n is babysitting for some kids when she (not specifically fem reader but i have a habit of using she/her when talking about y/n…) decides to take them to the arcade bada bing bada boom

and the two meet at the prize counter and they hit it off really well despite andrew being an absolute ass. and the kids are like “….. are they flirting” so then y/n begins to take them to the arcade more often to see andrew 💞💞🩷💘💘💞 and they get to know each other outside of him being at work

— nsfw ashley x y/n x andrew threesome smut where they take turns FUCKING y/n RAW!

w/ plot: ashley and andrew are both head over heels for y/n and they’re arguing over who gets to have you because.. um. idk. and then y/n shows up somehow and she’s like “guys what—“ and they immediately begin flirting with her

so she’s like “i like the both of u WANNA SEX” or something (cmon im not good at porn w plot) so they… yeah. they BANG!

— government detective/officer y/n who gets sent to track down the graves siblings. she finds them w a colleague and is sent on an undercover mission to somehow befriend them, get close to them and lure them into a trap where they get arrested

but in the process (surprise surprise) she falls for them! and there’s four separate endings. one for if y/n picked to save andrew, one if y/n picked ashley, one if y/n picked both and somehow kept her job and one if y/n eventually hid her feelings and just let both get arrested!

maybe even some epilogue chapters for all of the choices. like for the first two it’s y/n getting spooned/spooning the other as they talk about what would’ve happened i’d they didn’t escape (bc y/n was smart and made the one who got caught walk in front) and the remaining sibling doesn’t know that y/n still works for the gov’t.. for the third one maybe y/n moves in w them and they’re all poly now? dunno. still thinking. and for the last choice maybe y/n felt guilty and went to visit them in prison to confess but they’re both extremely pissed

smut for this one would be crazy 😭 “technically i’m getting paid to get closer to them so it won’t matter if i let them make me cum right” typa sex idk

also. maybe y/n’s getting cornered in an alleyway by some creep and as she’s about to try and strike andrew and ashley save her! and that’s where the attraction starts because she’s like “wait.. they kinda have morals.. like kinda”

— now hear me out i might b cooking w this. rock band au. ashley does drums, andrew guitar, y/n something else maybe singer bc she’s a talented queen. and they’ve all been friends since childhood and ashley doesn’t really have a problem w y/n bc she hasn’t made romantic advances on andrew and occasionally lets the two hang out bc yk. ashley. anyways something something something idk

— i have one thing on my mind. catgirl + catboy ashley and andrew who both meet y/n as she’s their parents’ neighbor who’s smoking on her porch. and they approach her for some reason maybe andrew wants a cig and y/n is the funniest person alive so they both grow a liking to her

Day 23 - Discuss Tosh. Opinions? Favorite moment? Least favorite moment? Any unpopular opinions? Any fun headcanons?

tosh my babygirl my princess light of my life angel darling… shes so good. shes so good 🥺 i love her dearly. she’s so damn underutilized i hate how the show regulates her to a supporting role + only uses her for romantic plots. WACK shes so much more than that. i want a plotline about her cyberterrorism like hello??? i want a plotline about her warped little mind.. i want a plotline about her finally learning spanish ;-; that show did not do her justice and it did not deserve her. i often say torchwood’s characters are too good for the show; tosh is probs the best example of that. no other character gets screwed over as badly as she does by the narrative (not even ianto!) she’s so tragic and lonely i just wanna give her the biggest hug ever.

fav moment… every time she smiles. (or smirks. hrgh. tosh call me.) also every time she geeks out about smth. im tryna think of a specific moment but idk if i have one?? i just love her overall i smile every time she’s on screen she’s my girlie. when i rewatch i might rmr one though

least favorite moment, the absolute only thing i can think of (hell, my only complaint with her as a character other than i wish she’d get over owen cuz bad taste queen pls u deserve sm better) - it’s always bothered me how she goes over to owen’s flat in aditd and just starts babbling about her own problems. she even says something like “you think everything’s about you”, and in that ep it’s like ??? why are they all acting like he’s unjustified being miserable and angry when he's fucking dead?? like they're all so unsympathetic and mean, even tosh, and out of her it's especially weird?? tbh it just strikes me as ooc (+ kind of misogynistic highkey) writing. i mean, by all means, let tosh bitch, she deserves to blow off some steam + esp deserves to be rude to owen tbh fhsdkjfsd, but the way it’s done in that particular moment feels ooc and, like, how men write women as talking too much and never listening lmao u kno what i mean (owen’s tuned out in the actual episode but you can see her full ramble in the original script, on page 23). tosh has never troubled anyone with her issues before, why would she choose now to, and when she knows owen’s struggling? yeah, on second thought, i don’t hold that against her actually, that’s ooc to me fhdkf. thts just the writer being a wiener.

my only unpopular opinions (slash hot takes) are that 1) towen fucking SUCKS get her away from him, and 2) most people like tosh but she’s highkey underappreciated, esp in fanfic, because of fandom racism + misogyny. she’s not bashed like gwen is but she’s ignored completely which is nearly as bad, and a lot of it’s cuz she happens to be in a show with two white men in a gay relationship who are overwhelmingly prioritized 💀 i will never not be petty about the way that ship dwarfs everything else in comparison. also throwing towen into the background of janto is so gross n cheap. if ppl cared abt her they'd do smth more interesting. and it's never well-done either. ugh.

i have a few hcs that are gonna end up in my owento verse (gwen and tosh are prominent characters in it bc i love them, and their relationships w owen and ianto and each other also have value lawl). tbh a lot of em are just things i think they should introduce into their lives to be happier. i want them happy ;-;

she starts coding video games recreationally!! nothing fancy but she rlly enjoys it + also gets into the swing of making little storylines n getting to express herself that way which is good for her. owen playtests shit for her

her and gwen go on spa dates sometimes. they put it on the torchwood credit card

she gets into fish tanks and fish tank care!!! esp like aquarium plants. shrimp and moss balls, that sort of thing. maybe plecos or loaches. she loves it + it’s grounding, which is good for her bc shes otherwise always got her head in her computers yanno. she’ll sit by her tank while she codes her games and the water sounds are calming.

she also sits by it while she studies her spanish books which she does finally do. she doesn’t get around to the piano, though; doesn’t prioritize buying a keyboard. maybe one day (this is a nobody dies au btw so she will in fact eventually get around to it ;-;)

oh she’s autistic have i said that. the fish tanks absolutely become a spin. she has a few we know of from canon - math and computers, obviously, but also history (gbg) and the uk’s rivers (from gooseberry; i think it was just the uk maybe it was europe’s rivers. or the world’s! i don’t remember). she also loves trivia like she knows a fair amount about quite a lot of things + loves accumulating random info

lowkey also. giving her a kitty. i think tosh should have a lil fuzzy kitty to keep her company

well this is smth from my owandy verse but i think it should happen anyway. so it kind of kicks off bc gwen mixes up a blind date (it was gonna be tosh & andy and then owen & a friend of hers, but shes an adhd icon n bungles the invites <3)... tosh ends up with gwen’s friend, who’s straight, but they hit it off and she invites tosh to have drinks or maybe come to a bookclub meet or something with some friends of hers?? point is, tosh makes some casual friends. maybe meets a pretty girl there or smth 👁️ but mainly i want tosh to have girl friends like i think she grew up very lonely i want her to have some normalcy

also sometimes i like tosh x andy maybe they have a little meet cute at a torchwood crime scene or smth fshdkfd. i think they’d be cute and he’d treat her well. she'd babble abt tech stuff and he wouldnt understand a damn word but he'd listen very intently

i also like tosh x ianto for similar reasons. i think it’d be a kind of friends to lovers sitch... they should just be close in general tbh, platonically or not yanno, and in my owandy verse i like the idea of smth kicking off between them i just think theyd be so sweet

she’s a very sleepy drunk and also a lightweight. if the team goes out to drink she’ll get two glasses of smth moderately fruity and then fall asleep against someone’s shoulder it’s very cute (this is just cuz i like the idea of a sleepy tosh 🥺 my baby my baby shes so precious to meee)

tumblr tips & things!

after growing rlly fast, i just wanted to provide some maybe helpful tips + things you could do if you’re a smaller blog! i am in no means an expert, I am still learning but this is what i’ve learned, specifically abt the mcyt tumblr community

disclaimer you DO NOT have to follow these, these are what ive learned and my opinion, but i think most writers can agree on this

its a lot of info im sorry ajdba but feel free to reblog and add ur own info!

1. tags!

theyre superrr important if you want exposure for your works + writing pieces, just make sure to tag accordingly

meaning: do not cross tag, or main tag, (ex do not tag just dream alone) keep ‘x reader’ content under the ‘x reader tags’

^people get uncomfortable with x readers and sometimes they slip through the filtered tags

my go-tos for tags are mcyt or cc name then the following prefixes- x reader, x y/n, x you, fanfic, fanfiction

if you have a fic for dream, DO NOT TAG george, it makes it confusing

also tags for ur random posts r super helpful because if someone doesnt want to see it, they can filter it out (my talking tag is basilly blabs)

adding a tag for the ppl you interact for! i like doing this cuz i can easily search a tag on my blog to see my prev interactions w/ them (ex. if i interact w/ userA then i tag userA’s username)

2. create some sort of brand

of course u can switch it up, but using ur own theme makes ur work recognizable to others

like mine is my banner- i use it on every of my works + important posts, so ppl can recognize me

banners can be found on the internet or twitter (but pls credit the artist w/ permission) i found mine on google

for super thin page dividers, i use ibis paint (mobile app) and made a super thin canvas (3405x57) and filled it w/ my theme color

3. plspls dont beat yourself up for rejecting requests or feeling uncomfortable

you are not forced to write requests, if they make you feel uncomfortable you can decline

also if you’re not happy with the work, you can spend the time to revise + edit, we will wait for work you are happy with!

+ if you are stuck with some details on writing smth, ask a mutual or others! more brains and more ideas!

4. same goes for writers block & health issues

we all get it sometimes, no one is pressuring you and if they are, its your blog, you decide. and your health matters more

5. the mcyt tumblr community is SUPER NICE

if u wanna be moots aka mutuals (follow each other) literally shoot them any message and they’ll respond so kindly

ive talked to so many incredible moots who I absolutely adore theyre so kind

also interacting w/ moots: they can reblog your work, creating exposure but do not expect reblogs, and same to you we are not expected to reblog

6. please check a cc’s boundaries before writing

@/smp-boundaries has a majority listed, and if not, ask!

7. if u have any questions, just ask!

lots of ppl will not even mind that much, like i said theyre super kind

8. navigation + masterlists!!

super important for everyone to see your rules, works, all put into one spot, it makes it 10x easier

9. backup ur works + asks

tumblr can be glitchy so its always helpful to back up works on google docs or smth similar

having ur whole fic deleted is not fun and demotivating

asks can be backed up by sending them to ur linked email- this has helped loads for me

10. dont worry too much abt likes + follows

all blogs start out small and as you go and keep persisting, ppl will start noticing + following, its all abt perseverance + trust the process

even when fics r rllllyy good, tumblr has its own bad days and u get low notes- dont let this discourage you

11. anonymous asks!

some ppl get nervous and request on anon! personally think theres more requests that way

12. small text or read mores!

internet is a great help w/ this and itll give you guides and step by step instructions

mobile also is a lot harder to make an aesthetic blog, so a laptop or pc or chromebook is super helpful

13. for max notes, post at ‘prime times’

i think the queue tells u when the prime time is to post for ur time zone, but also a google search is super helpful

or, guess and check! trial and error- i did this and found the best time to post for me

once you find it, you can schedule or queue your work so it posts for you!

14. if there’s sensitive topics pls add TW and CW

as writers yes we try to cover some topics that ppl request but we dont want to trigger others, so at the top include TW// (trigger warning) or CW// (content warning) and add a cut or read more

do not put CW or TW on content creators- no matter how bad they are, its rude and dehumanizing

15. Formatting is SUPER important!

if you do not separate your lines of dialogue or paragraphs, chances are people WILL skip over it. it makes it hard to read and sometimes it is’t worth people’s time

rule of thumb is make a new paragraph every time someone speaks and indicate who is talking or make is distinguishable!

if your fic is over 500 words, id add a cut as well! if you dont know how:

on mobile: type :readmore: in a new paragraph and hit enter w/out a space after the readmore

pc/laptop: new paragraph, three dots far right

Smut also def has its own set of rules but i am not a nsfw blog- main things i can say is please add cuts and check for cc’s boundaries

thats all i have for now,,, i might add in the future!

not everyone’s experiences are the same but this is whats worked and happened for me and what i found to be useful, i hope this helps you as well, if it doesnt, thats fine too!

Everyone is born with a mark- unless their soulmate is already dead. What’s unusual is how sometimes Tony has a mark and sometimes he doesn’t.

No one knows what to do with that. Marks only disappear when a person’s soulmate is dead. But one day, Tony had a mark and then the next he didn’t. Tony had barely had enough time to realize that something was wrong before it was back.

Steve is also born with a mark.

But when Steve is injected with the serum, his mark changes. Marks aren’t supposed to change. They’re supposed to remain static, as static as the fact that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

The Asset doesn't know if he was born with a mark or not.

He would probably say that he was born with one because everyone seems to have one but, if it's not important to his mission, then he doesn't know.

He does have one though. It appears immediately on his metal arm the first time they attach it to his shoulder.

“Tony. Um…this is your shifted form?” Steve tried to ask calmly, but the words came out on a chuckle, and the little cat arched his back and hissed.

“Oh stop, you’re making him angry.” Completely in ball of mush mode, Bucky made a coaxing motion with his fingers. “Here kitty kitty kitty, pretty kitty, such a sweet kitty, come here puss puss puss.”

Tony’s claws shot out and he yowled furiously before throwing himself at the super soldier, intent on scratching those perfect blue eyes out.

“Oh look at him!” Steve gave in and knelt beside where Bucky was laughing and batting Tony’s tiny paws away. “He’s like a baby on a rampage! Too much anger for so much fluff!”

“He is gonna kill us for this later!” Bucky said in between trying to scratch the furious cats ears.

“Worth it.” Steve countered. “Worth it. Now let me hold him.”

Pokemon Journeys Episode 45. Let’s review:

1. How are the news reporters not dead yet in that flimsy helicopter in the middle of this apocalyptic event?

2. The fact that Team Rocket were able to reach out to Gigantamax Meowth to have him control himself and try to take on Eternatus absolutely speaks grand possibilities for both funny and awesome Team Rocket moments in the future in the Galar region! That, and Meowth’s knowledge of G-Max Gold Rush, too! Hopefully, the writers won’t miss out on these blatant opportunities.

3. I swear Leon and Charizard cheated death like 4 to 5 times in this episode.

4. The Ash vs. Chairman Rose fight was really done, with Ash using Pikachu and Riolu’s speed to take advantage of Ferrothorn and Copperajah’s bulk and put them against each other. In addition to that, Rose shows how much of a villain he is by smiling throughout the beginning of the fight with sadistic intent, even going as so far to command his mons to attack Ash and Pikachu and crush Riolu. Great display of character, writers! And, of course, as we’ve all been waiting for, Riolu’s evolution into Lucario. Absolutely done well, with Riolu showing his strong friendship with Ash and Pikachu by defending them against Rose’s mons, despite all odds being against his favor due to the sheer size and weight difference. Absolutely perfect. And then Lucario used his aura to tell Ash “Screw Vacuum Wave, I got the Poke-Hadouken, now!”, which was a sweet callback to Ash and Riolu’s aura bond in the latter’s debut appearance. And once the battle was over, Rose showed concern for his Pokemon and not for his failing plans, showing that he’s still human on the inside and is really just in a lot of turmoil due to the trauma he experienced as a child at the mines. So yeah, great moment of the episode all around! On the other hand though..... ugh.....

5. Goh vs. Oleana. Like I said in my last review, I was not looking forward to how this would turn out due to Goh’s win being obvious, and.... yeah, there are some problems. Compared to Ash and Rose’s battle, the action in this one was a lot less impressive. At the start, it was mostly just Raboot using Ember, only to get countered and splooshed by Water Pulse every time. When it actually picked up with Goh using the environment, leading to Raboot’s own evolution into Cinderace to finish Milotic off with Pyro Ball, it was still not done well, as Milotic was knocked out by Pyro Ball and a few consecutive Embers beforehand, which should NOT be enough to make it faint. Look, when Ash fought Rose, it took Pikachu and Riolu a good number of hits to push back Ferrothorn and Copperajah before both were finished off by Aura Sphere, a super-effective move. In this case, Milotic was taken out solely by A FEW attacks its strong against. That shouldn’t have done it in, especially with how untrained Raboot is compared to Ash’s mons. Not to mention, it also kinda digs further a little problem there is with Goh and Cinderace almost always winning/achieving every little thing they do that I’ll go further in-depth with my future blog over them. And while I’m happy Cinderace is back to his enthusiastic self (with some of Raboot’s coolness still left in) and the moment where Goh communicated with Raboot to use the environment for his preferred Ember attack was a good character moment between the two, the cons of this part of the episode kinda outweigh the pros. Moving on, however.

6. Sonia x Raihan? That’s.... kinda cute honestly.

7. Seeing Ash run around with a Lucario at his side is probably bringing a lot of fanfics to life. That, or Lucario and the Mystery of Mew flashbacks. Man, that was a good movie, wasn’t it?

8. Ahh, look at those five dorks gawk over each other and fist bump. It’s stuff like this that makes 2020 better.

9. Remember that part in the original Final Fantasy VII where Sephiroth attacked the whole gang with shockwaves before the fight against Bizzaro Sephiroth? The scene with Eternatus escaping Leon’s Ultra Ball gave me flashbacks to that. And I don’t even know why lol.

10. Oh my Arceus! The up-close shot of Eternamax Eternatus was honestly a little frightening!

11. Chairman Rose...pl-please get away from the helicopter windshield.... That’s just.... creepy.

12. Eternatus’ onslaught of Screw-U laser beams. At this point, it’s natural for Ash and Pikachu to take this kind of stuff in the face everyday.

13. Becoming the Sword and Shield legend? Yeah, that was expected. Look, when it comes to stuff like this in the anime, it’s about as obvious and cliche as it can get to the point it’s really no longer a bother to long-standing anipoke fans. And Leon? Please, my boi, stand down. You just want all the credit to yourself. (I’m only joking please don’t attack me fellow Leon fans)

14. The whole final battle between the good guys and Eternatus was alright. It was really cool seeing the Sword and Shield doggos’ signature attacks in the anime, though, it would’ve been cool for Ash and Goh to actually command them a little just like in the games. (and Ash’s whole thing with Nebby should prove that you don’t necessarily have to own a Legendary to command it in a crisis) It also nice for Pikachu, Lucario, and Cinderace to give Eternatus another three-way combo so that the doggos could have their opening. How it ultimately ended though.... well....

15. GOH’s REGULAR Pokeball caught Eternatus. I repeat, a REGULAR Pokeball from GOH caught Eternatus. Yeah......

16. Legendaries doggos, come back! I wanna see our dorks scratch behind your ears! Ah well, it’s more than likely they’ll return in the anime, given usual tropes and cliches.

17. Chairman Rose and Oleana are also definitely gonna make a return someday, no doubt about that. We still gotta wrap up Rose’s whole character with his childhood and father!

18. PROFESSOR SONIA!!!!! I STAN THIS SO FREAKING MUCH!!!!!!

19. Oh, Goh. You and your love for catching. Unfortunately, as the whole thing with Eternatus kinda proved, the anime is willing to have you able to capture Legendaries. With a plain Pokeball no less. You’re lucky I love you, my boy.

At with that, we’re done with the Darkest Day Arc! Pretty dope arc, ngl! While there were some things I felt were missed out, like Pikachu Gigantamaxing or Goh using mons other then Raboot/Cinderace, given how the episode ended, I feel there will be more of that kind of stuff in future Galar episodes. So that’s worth looking forward to you!

For the overall episode alone.... it was okay. Again, there were some things that kinda made it avoid being perfect (which sadly all involved Goh), but what we got was still great. The visuals and music were all amazing, there were a ton of great character moments, and for the most part, the action was intense and awesome! I’d give this episode an 8/10!

Now, to end things off, who else is excited for Mewtwo next week?!?!

ok so nearly everyone in the fandom is doing this and as sad as it is that we need to remind these simple things to people, I feel the need to talk about this too.

I won't make this too painfully long because I know y'all most likely already know this and I just wanna put out a basic list of shit you should always follow in the fandom. But for those who don't, a lot of fan content creators, be it artists or writers or just general fans trying to enjoy their time, have been leaving/quitting the fandom.

Why are they leaving, you ask? Toxicity. Toxicity nearly everywhere. People can't hold respectful debates or discourses on interesting topics regarding characters/the books/ships anymore without someone toxicly stating that only their opinion is correct, and going off on anyone who has different opinions carried with a lot of aggressive, rude and shallow behaviour. Fanartists have gotten death threats and are scared of drawing art for the Riordanverse without getting anxious af.

Now the thing is, having done those (eXcepT for the death threats) doesn't automatically make u an entirely shitty person. Maybe you made a mistake and came off as rude without rlly meaning to. That's okay. Here's how to identify if u ever did so, and to change that behaviour. Again, it's okay to make mistakes, but we rn as a fandom srsly need to try to turn things around.

Some basic shit you should remember being a part of the fandom:

• NO NSFW STUFF WITH MINORS!!! That means fanarts, fanfics etc. But here's the shocking thing- when someone does this, you can actually hold them accountable WITHOUT SENDING DEATH THREATS AND CROSSING THE BOUNDARIES! Cuz doing that only makes YOU stoop just as low. Pl e a s e remember that always and be respectful whatever you do.

• That being said, ppl are allowed to write nsfw stuff IF said characters are aged up, aka 18+. Ofc, it's a must that they put a content warning beforehand because many people may not want to read that. BUT, if you don't want to read it and if they've aged up the characters so nothing's morally wrong or gross, then please do NOT hate the author in the comments, do NOT report their post/account. Seriously dude, they gave warnings, if you don't want to read it just scroll past it's not that hard. Unless it's with minors, you shouldn't be reporting innocent ppl's accounts like that.

• one thing that I've seen a lack of in the fandom are trigger warnings. I've seen several fics whose covers are literally of blood. And entire chapters were written with intricate graphic descriptions yet with no trigger warnings or a tw wayyy down in the caption. you never know what may be triggering to someone if a lot of ppl see ur content but the least u can do is put trigger warnings on the most common stuff. I get that it may look aesthetically matching if it's a murder mystery sorta fic but isn't the well being of people more important?

• look I'm not saying you're not allowed to have opinions, but the problem is when you start treating your opinions like facts. I can't count the times I've seen someone state their opinion like it's facts and then trash on other's for having a different opinion. PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS. Stop attacking people for liking Jason more than Percy or vice versa, there's no rule that you absolutely have to like one or the other, ppl can like who they want. When you're stating UR opinion, it would be nice if you used stuff like "I personally think that..." or "... that's just my opinion" because again, Ur opinion is just that, not a fact.

• if you can't have discourses or discussions about certain topics respectfully and nicely then don't have them. if someone's done nothing wrong but state their opinions and you don't like it, don't go attacking them. if you don't have anything good to say, shut up and just scroll past. it's not that hard. we don't need any more negativity in the fandom. If you feel like you're about to snap, mute or block the account you don't like and move on with life. But for the love of GOD don't go out of your way to be agresive or hateful to ppl. They have feelings too and run fan accounts for fun, not to get upset and hurt.

• when a fan account owner has made a post saying what they think of a certain topic, and you comment saying you think they're wrong and they reply that you didn't get the point of their post, then chances are you most probably actually did not understand what they were saying. when this happens, pls don't go on forcing ur opinion onto them as if you got what they meant when you didn't. Maybe next time when someone says you didn't get what they were saying, ask them nicely to explain it to you instead of going off like that?

• firstly, shame on you if you've ever run a hate account. just why? how much more negativity do you want to add? if you come across a hate account please please report it and block it and tell your friends to do the same. if you're targeted in a hate post, I'm so sorry, please know that they're shallow ppl just trying to make you feel shitty, you're dont have a trashy fan account; what they say is false and done purely to spite. report and block them.

• I know Rick has written a lot of racist bullcrap and hasn't batted an eye when we complained about them, but that still doesn't give you the right to send him death threats. Again, no death threats to anyone, yikes.

• don't use fanart that's racist. don't repost them either. Piper has feathers in it? don't repost it. also if you can't exactly and properly credit artists, don't repost their art saying "credits to the artist". I've done that before too but now I understand that's not right.

• also, while we're at it, can we all please universally agree on non-racist fanon stuff and get rid of racist canon stuff? like Piper and feathers, and piper & hazel with colourful and golden eyes, Piper's stupid not like other girls behaviour, and all the other bullshit Rick has put into the books. We as a fandom don't accept it and pretend they do not exist, no racism in this place 🥰‼️

• ppl are allowed to have their own headcannons, it doesn't matter what's cannon. Don't go "but in the books it's.." because in the books there's a lot of shit, and besides, if someone wants to headcannon Percy as brown? black? totally alright! they're allowed to do so! don't go bUt pErCy iSnT pOc iN tHe bOoKs. same goes with sexualities and etc headcannons. as long as they're not erasing the already representation of a minority, it's okay to have headcannons of your own. Like Hazel is canonically black and we should respect that and bring out the best of that, yk what I mean?

That's all I have to say for now. I'm usually a very light-hearted cursed meme account on here but things are getting out of hand. I was wanting to make my 8 yr old brother get into the Riordanverse fandom but seeing the situation of the fandom rn scares me. We need to think about the kids in the future who'll be in this fandom, whose lives will be changed and shaped by these books. Surely, the older people in the fandom before us would be utterly disappointed at what it's become and it's our job to constantly look out for the fandom.

If you're leaving/have left the fandom, I'm so sorry that it got to that point, but ur wellbeing comes first, do what you feel is necessary to feel better, all of us send lots of positive vibes towards your way! and to the peeps who've still decided to stay in the fandom and use their account to talk about this issue, I cannot express how thankful I am of you for doing such an important thing right now. And to everyone - as Harry Styles once said - treat people with kindness.

Headcanon that the reason Leon is referred to as the "unbeatable champion of Galar" is because even if he did lose know one would know or remember because he lived his life in video game mechanics!

HERE ME OUT PLS! also it's only a headcanon lol....anyway let's get to the point before I don't make sense anymore 😅!

________________________________________

- when Leon starts his Pokemon journey he slowly starts to realize that he is different than the other Pokemon trainers. It freaks him out a little bit because (1) he's only ten, and (2) literally this happens to no one else!

- finding randomly placed pokeballs, evolution stones, and heal potions in the middle of the forest,wild area, and everywhere he goes? He's still pretty thankful that he has them when in a battle, but creeped out. Know one else seems to notice these strange instances going on. When Leon tries to talk to anyone else about this ( be it Raihan, Sonia, or any adult/trainer/etc.) His mouth suddenly freezes up and he can't speak. His mouth feels like it's suffocating him and his eyes water and all he feels is pain. Until after a moment feeling like he only have 2 other options to say something else he finally gets a word out to finish the conversation but not the words he wants. ( Because of that I think that Leon is selectively mute unless someone speaks to him first because of the traumatic instances where he couldn't speak what he wanted to, afraid that he would say the wrong thing.)

- another instance that kind of traumatized him as a 10 yr old ( which the video game mechanics kicked in only when he started his journey, but neither him or anyone else knows that.) Is when he was fighting in the wild area, and after his last Pokemon faints he blacks out, only to wake up in nurse joys pokecenter. After a few more instances like that and not knowing anything of how he got there or what happened after he blacks out another handful of times he ends up going weeks, and sometimes up to a month instances where he doesn't sleep. Afraid that once he closes his eyes he will wake up somewhere else he doesn't know, alone. ( Hence why he can be horrible at directions. )

- as he goes so much time without sleep he quicky realizes that there's no after effects on him. He's not feeling drowsy or hungry or anything that he should be feeling after going a month without sleep. It scares him even more and he even stops eating because of it, finding it useless. ( He misses his mom, his baby brother, he doesn't know why or how this is happening but he can't tell anyone! ) There is no backlash by not eating, and he only feeds his Pokemon from then one.

- one of the most prominent things that Leon noticed right from the start is that when he loses no one remembers him or his loss. It's heartbreaking, it tears at him. Why does no one remember him? Everyone remembers the losers, don't they? Why is that they act like they never met him before and why can't he do anything about it? Sometimes he just wants to crawl out of his own skin.

- he realizes that he is only remembered if he wins the battle, and that motivates him to win even more because even though it's happened before he can't stand the thought of people forgetting him again. ( He can't help but think that with every loss his family and friends might forget him too. They don't travel together for the battling of the champion cup, but when he does he his two best friends, Raihan and Sonia he clings to them so much. Even if he can't say what he wants. )

- so as he wins more battles, and gets more badges, and eventually wins the champion cup he finally thinks it's over. As much as he loves battling and pokemon, he knows deep down that by the next year someone is gonna beat him and maybe he'll be free from this other power controlling him. ( Maybe he can eat, sleep, and just speak how he wants to again! )

- the next year Rahain is the only one person that has gotten close enough to beat him, he's the one person that gives him a real challenge anymore, and most importantly battling Rahain makes actually Pokemon battling in general, fun for him. Leon loves him so much. God he loves him. He loves his so much that he wants him to win. ( Leon just turned 11 a couple months ago, and Rahain is 14 now. ) Leon can't help but think that Rahain, more happy, emotional,and older would be a better fit as champion anyway.

- But he wins. A year later he wins again. And again, and again, and again. He can't stop winning and as he gets older he can't help but feel like a puppet. Other than being chairmen roses puppet that is. He is just so, so tired. He can't seem to get hurt either. He tries hurting himself but nothing happens. He is untouchable in both psysical feeling and battles. He just wants to stop. Raihan, Nessa, Milo, and the other gym leaders, along with his family are starting to get worried about him. He stops talking to them all together and instead finds company in the chairmen. ( If he doesn't know what higher power is fucking with him, then at least put another higher power to give him directions. At least he knows where the fucking source of that is. )

- so he withdraws, but keeps the happy facade around everyone because he can't be to he wants to be. Eventually after year ten of being the unbeatable champion of Galar, the chairmen decides to give other people the fighting chance. he says that Leon can indorse however many people he likes for. The champion cup this year.

- he meets Leon's best friend Gloria. After he gives them their starter Pokemon and after he sees his brother lose in his battle against Gloria, he notices something about her. Something that just pulls him to her. It's her very first Pokemon battle and she's won. She doesn't speak much but what she does say sounds scripted to him. ( He distantly wonders if she is like him. )

- so he watches her as she wins. Again and again. He remembers her losses tho. He's the only one but he remembers every time she lost a battle. Only to win the next time. He feels some sort of kinship to her. He knows she going to make it to the champion cup and hopes that she beats him. For his own sanity he needs to lose. Winning can't be an option for him. He so, so tired.

- and then she wins. She beats him. As the rest of the audience is silent and the wind slows down everything seems to have come to a standstill. He tilts his hat and grits his teeth for a moment. ( Is is finally over? Can I be free? ) But that doesn't matter right now. He so happy. He got what he wanted. He throws his hat up in the air and smiles brightly, a real smile in what seeme like forever. He runs over to Gloria and picks her up spinning her around. Their both laughing and smiling and he's crying happy tears at her victory and his loss. He doesn't care about the tabloids commenting on his tears or anything other than her. She is like the little sister he's never had and he so grateful that he got to meet her. As she is on his shoulder, waving at the people sitting in the arena he finally has some peace. ( Is it finally over? )

- he gets his answer in the empty locker room. The battle is over. Gloria is celebrating with Hop. ( He will definitely be happy to spend more time with his friends and family ) he gets his old poketknife he found on the road when he was ten and slices the palm of his hand.....

He bleeds.

"Leon?"

It Rahain.

Can he tell him? Everything? Why he's so messed up?

He looks back to se Rahain with shock all over his face. He must've come in to try and talk to him about the battle. ( They made a promise that Rahain would be the one to beat him.)

Leon smiles lightly befoe putting the knife back down.

He slowly walks up to Raihan...

He does something that also wasn't allowed before.

He hugs him. Tight. And cries.

{ P.s - cue explanation, confessions, and emotional sex featuring bottom Leon ; ) }

Whew! That was fun to write. I really hoped you liked this headcanon/mini fic! It's been something I've been thinking about ever since I've become obsessed with Leon.

I do not have the time to right a full fledged fanfic of this but if anyone wants to take this as inspiration and write a fic based on this please do! ( Also credit me for the idea lol and let me know cause I wanna read it! ) We already have alot of talented writers from this fandom that have posted on AO3 and I would love to see someone write about this and use their own creativeness with it! : )

So episode two!!!! Gah this was the perfect way to give Mando Man some characterization, he’s snarky and sarcastic and he’s got honor despite being a bounty hunter and he likes kids!!! And he seems to be a little bit lonely, ya know with the lone gunslinger lifestyle. He’s Soft and I must protect him even if he is literally the best in the sector at what he does and I can’t fight anything.

Dangit Favreau I’m already hooked I have been seduced by Tatooine, lovely Space Australia it is, and all the Lucas animals and the adorable little Yoda baby and asdfghjklsdkfsk it’s just making me so happy!

The fanfic bug hasn’t bitten me just quite yet (which is honestly a good thing, I’ve got waaaaaay too many WIPs planned already lol) but I’m enjoying watching it a lot and I can’t wait to see others’ fanfic too!!!!

Rise of Skywalker ramblings

Saw RoS last night and loved it.

I’d seen the mixed reviews and was a bit apprehensive going in, but was pleasantly surprised in a lot of ways. It kept some of the spirit of TLJ that I liked while still delivering a lot of the “safer” Star Wars story that I expected. Being part of a super enthusiastic opening night crowd is always fun too. And it’s nice to see that I’m not the only person who liked the whole 7-8-9 trilogy!

Spoileriffic thoughts below.

--Rey Palpatine was one of the theories I’d kicked around, but it would have been nice if she really was nobody, like the Force doesn’t care who you’re related to. Timeline-wise she would have been better off as his great-granddaughter but I completely buy Sheev having lots of kids and/or having some later in life.

--I’d been running with the “Skywalker is the new name for Force user” theory for a while, but I’m OK with Rey adopting it as her last name. She doesn’t have to be a Palpatine and the name of the family that saved the galaxy is continuing.

--HOLY CRAP FINN IS FORCE SENSITIVE. I would love it if that was what he wanted to tell Rey. (Best answer from Reddit: “I’m in love with Poe and don’t know how to tell him!”)

--Ben Solo didn’t make it to the end! I was convinced he’d get a redemption arc and live happily ever after. Props to JJ/whoever for going in that direction, especially with the Jedi fadeout.

--The opening crawl getting right to "oh hey the emperor isn't really dead.” So happy they didn't drag out the “when-do-we-see/hear-the-emperor???” mystery

--Sheev Palpatine and his motherfucking contingencies for contingencies, plans-within-plans shit. This guy was a thousand steps ahead of everyone else, all the time. Got a glimpse of that in Empire’s End too.

--LOL the tank of Snoke clones. Sheev loves his clones, in both canon and legends!

--Poe’s lightspeed skipping. Poe being an ex-spice runner. Poe and Zorii! Poe in general. Poe is great.

--Luke/Leia training flashback!! Leia's lightsaber!!!! Which she presumably built herself!!!!!

--3-way Finn/Poe/Rey hug. And the sound of a thousand fanfics being composed…

--More First Order defectors who had been kidnapped as children. (Also a plot point in Empire’s End, complete with a 6-year-old-ish Armitage Hux ordering around a group of kidnapped-and-brainwashed child recruits)

--Hux being the mole, not because he agrees with the resistance, but because he hates Kylo Ren. I bet he was hatching a plan as soon as Snoke was killed.

--Force-healing onscreen! And it wasn’t just “Force magic” (which I also would have been OK with), it was actual taking life from one to give to another.

--Rey was noticeably better at lightsaber fighting. She was… not great in TFA. Only slightly better in TLJ. Her year of training really shows and I like that we’ve seen a pretty clear progression.

--Rey stopping that transport with some Kyle Katarn shit and Kylo trying to get it back and OH SHIT REY SHOT OUT FORCE LIGHTNING

--Palpatine: GLADoS edition has been added to my recent “horrifying scene that works but really gives me the creeps” list (also includes flashback to Coulson resuscitation/brain surgery with him repeating “just let me die” on Agents of SHIELD, Brainy getting rebooted on Supergirl)

--Aside from his GLADoS-esque support arm complete with wires, I liked undead-Palpatine's look - missing fingers, whited-out eyes, and his transformation after he stole life from Rey & Kylo. Especially the red-lined robes.

--Got serious Endgame vibes at the end with all the ships showing up. Husband unit also pointed out the parallel of “I am inevitable”/”I am Iron Man” and “I am all Sith”/”I am all Jedi”

--OMG ALL THE JEDI SPEAKING TO REY. I didn’t recognize everything at first but I heard Obi-Wan (young & old), Yoda, Mace Windu, Ahsoka(!!!!!), and Anakin. Per the credits, voices also included Qui-Gon(!), Luminara Unduli, Aayla Secura, Adi Gallia, and Kanan Jarrus(!!!!!). Two notable absences: Cal Kestis and Ezra Bridger. I can accept Cal’s fate as TBD since Fallen Order just came out, but this is really good news for Ezra. I am now super super interested to see where these two have been.

--Kept the Rey/Kylo force-connection deal. It weirded me out in TLJ but I’m really glad it was kept here.

--Wedge coming back for one last ride! (and aging pretty well, wow)

--RIP Snap. :-( I’d grown a bit attached to him after the Aftermath trilogy, but I think Norra and Brentin would have been proud.

-- ForceGhost!Luke has a new attitude; I guess being dead for a while tends to mellow you out. I am still 100% OK with his character in this trilogy.

--Kylo not being as good at fighting after he dropped the dark-side allegiance – specifically the 6v1 fight against the Knights of Ren before he got the lightsaber. Like he'd been into it so deep for so long he forgot how to fight without it.

--Han coming back one last time for some Ghost Dad Advice

--THANKS FOR NOT KILLING CHEWIE!! I was seriously worried

--Rey fights herself!

--Where can I buy a replica of that Sith wayfinder? I do like shiny force-user crystals/holocrons/etc

--Rey finally builds her own lightsaber! And it’s yellow.

--TAKE THAT REYLOS: Oh you want a kiss huh? There’s your kiss! AND NOW HE’S DEAD.

--That whole scene. Kylo staring at dead Rey. Kylo force-healing Rey and bringing her back to life. And now they’re staring at each other, and I’m thinking don’t kiss you idiots, don’t fucking do it. FUCK they did. I actually booed out loud. (I will not deny being a little bit happy that Kylo died immediately after)

--All of the “are you happy Ep 7 & 8 haters???” stuff: Rey is super powerful because she’s Palpatine’s granddaughter, someone bringing up a “why don’t we Holdo this” argument and getting shot down with good reason, showing Leia’s Force powers with a flashback to being trained by Luke AND having her own lightsaber

--The urgent timeline got kind of.. muddled? Forgotten? They had 18 hours or 12 and still had time for all those spacejumps and Lando gathering friends from all over?

--A bit too on-the-nose with some of the ROTJ parallels. Lando in disguise saving the day on a desert planet! Speeder bike chase! Emperor taunting Our Hero while their friends are losing a huge battle outside! A Skywalker dies so Our Hero can live!

--Also wondered if one of the writers played SWTOR: Emperor who really isn’t dead uses Super Mega Force Lightning and tries to jump into Our Hero’s body to take over their mind.

After chewing on this for a day, here’s my ranking of Skywalker/Palpatine saga films from best to worst:

5 > 8 > 9 > 4 > 7 > 6 > 3 > 2 > 1

And including Solo and Rogue One:

5 > Rogue One > 8 > 9 > 4 > 7 > 6 > 3 > Solo > 2 > 1

tbh I’m so far into the “inject all Star Wars content directly into my veins pls” territory that I can’t say I hate any of it, and even the cringiest prequel moments are leaps and bounds ahead of a lot of other junk I’ve watched/read/played. So much about Star Wars is just FUN, and I will gladly handwave away most of my nitpicks (SpeedForce, I ain’t gotta explain shit) for the sake of enjoying the story. Even the ridiculous stuff that I poke fun at is still a part of the whole mess; it can’t all be great or even good or OK and that is fine with me. [NOTE: I have not watched the Holiday Special but the husband unit is weirdly enthusiastic about me doing so; it may happen yet this year.]

I really like this comment from the A.V. Club. More cynical than my overall take on the whole shebang but I totally know with where they’re coming from. I don’t agree with all the responses but it’s a pretty good discussion.

Long story short is that Jason said that the Bellarke storyline was “misinterpreted” and Bob CLAPPED BACK👏🏻 standing up for all of us and saying that if we’re insane, he’s been insane since day 1. In my opinion, Jason is just trying to hide the real storyline thinking it’s gonna make us happy in the end, but ended up just hurting the actors by invalidating their skills.

The Terms of Writing Fanfics, Reading Stories and Watching Movies… According to a Lazy Teenager.

Fellow Humans and non-Humans from Fandoms Near and Far,… I welcome you to read a document I basically just made. This is:…

“The Terms of Writing Fanfics, Reading Stories and Watching Movies… According to a Lazy Teenager.”

Firstly, I would like to address The Different Types of Ships…

Now, this isn’t about how different relationships interact, that will be discussed later in The Hogwarts Guide to Relationships. This is discussing what happens to the ships.

Firstly, we have a sailing ship – obviously, this means a ship that is canon. Examples: literally everywhere mate. Most ships are sailing ships. (This is the un-original term).

The Sunk Ship (The other un-original term). A ship that doesn’t work out. They move on. The ship starts to sink, and they get on little dinghiess and sail to shore for a bit, before preparing to start sailing again. Sometimes the ruins of these ships are found and excavated (they become friends), sometimes they can even sail again (They get back together).

Then we have our Battle Ships. This is the canon ship that is a constant battle with non-canon ships, I like to call Pirate ships. These are the two ships we get major shipping wars with. Fans are fighting all day and all night to prove their ship is superior. It’s nasty stuff man. Examples of these kinda ships are Romione (Ron x Hermione) vs Dramione (Draco x Hermione) or Kataang (Katara x Aang) vs Zutara (Zuko x Katara.) There is nothing wrong with the pirate ship, it’s just not canon, and that’s fine.

Also, who else is back on the Avatar train because Netflix is releasing a live-action.

Next, we have the ghost ship: both characters have or will die during or before the story. Permission to cry about these kinda ships – granted. Examples include Jyn and Cassian, from Rouge One.

Now we come to the greatest and most painful ships of all. The Titanic. These are the ships with heartbreak. These are the ships where the characters love each other, but one has to leave. The ships where they just don’t work, but they still love each other. And these are the ships, where one character dies, and the other is left broken. They never move on. Or should I say, their heart will go on? Obviously, an example of this is Titanic, but other examples are The Hunch Back of Notre Dame but not the Disney version, the Victor Hugo one where Esmeralda hangs. And Captain America, the first one, where he dies and wakes up like 70 years later.

Secondly, The Worthy Death…

Okay, so we have all cried watching a character die before. It’s just hard man. But have you ever watched a show where a really cool, strong character that’s gonna save the day, just chokes on a cashew and dies? No, you probably haven’t, why? Because it's dumb. But, have you watched a movie where they ride into battle on their white stallion and save the day, but they end up dying after they have won the battle? Yes, most probably. Because they are worthy of a good death. Maybe, they have been living in boundaries and they finally break free. Or the figure out how to win and then die in the arms of their first love, (I’m still in mourning over the second last episode of Teen Wolf season 3). Or maybe this character dies saving their child, and then the child goes on to save the day. RIP Stoic.

Now most writers will always give their characters appropriate endings, because well. We authors love our characters. Only a few authors don’t do this, and even fewer don’t do and the story is still pretty good. So, I’m here to tell you that if a character that is really cool and strong, that dies too quickly and it just doesn’t seem right, then it probably isn’t. Okay. That character just might show up again. Especially if this is in a supernatural world and the character that died is supernatural.

This is also relevant to villains. Because they come back sometimes too.

Thirdly the Spark…

Killing off a character is hard, especially when we have put so much effort into shaping and developing the character, giving them some of our own traits. It hurts authors a lot more than it may hurt you. Trust. But sometimes, we can’t do anything about it. Why? because of the spark! The spark is the original idea. It’s the thing that makes you write the story. If this means that a character has to die, or the ship doesn’t work. Then that means it’s gonna be a sad story. Changing the spark is like changing the constitution. You need to really think hard about it.

Now here is a warning, playlists are useful as well as dangerous. I am the kind of person who likes to make a playlist for every story (and sometimes every chapter) I write and listen to it while writing. Playlists have gotten through many a writing block, and they are great for inspiration. However, if you add the wrong song, all hell can break loose. Let me give you an example where I almost killed a character. We all have a sad Viking funeral song, right? Well, I was listening to mine, (The Sun in the Stream, Enya) and, well, the ship almost hit an iceberg. Luckily, I was saved by a happy love song, (Dreams, The Cranberries).

You could kill or save characters, going completely against the spark. You could add fluff where there is supposed to be a fight scene. You could add angst in a perfectly good and healthy relationship. Music is a powerful influence, so I beg all of you, be wise with your Spotify playlists. And consult a friend before changing a spark.

Moving on, I bring you the Hogwarts Guide to Relationships…

Each relationship can be categorized into Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. And please don’t be offended by this. If you are a Gryffindor in a Slytherin relationship than good on you. I’m not the sorting hat.

Let’s start off with a good ol’ Gryffindor relationship. This is usually canon. It is the main character and the main character. They’re high-school enemies. They hate each other because they are rivals, they are both exceedingly attractive. Then they are put in a difficult situation and they have to work their way out… together. And they fall in love and yeah. It's cliché. They are the super-heroes. They both are really nice bubbly people. They cannot be bad guys, they just can’t. Okay, it’s not in the job description. They will go through at least one difficult situation, but they will come out on top.

Moving on, Ravenclaw relationship. It’s simple, it can be canon or not. They like each other. They are the main character’s older sibling and their partner. Either that or they are the bad guy. They are kinda great because they are genuine with each other. They are also goals. They may break up once, but they got back together so it’s fine. Not many people ship them, but that’s only because they want to be in the place of one of them. They have a strong trust and are very close. They have some kind of telepathy, and it’s not even creepy. You’re not sure if you can trust them, but you know they would die for each other. They are oddly wise and are constantly giving good advice. They can get you out of any situation, cos they know people. If they are good, then they kind of live in the grey area. They play cards and both have a good polka face. They could be evil, but they are evil together. I ship this, this is my OTP, leave me alone, pls.

Hufflepuff relationships: cute, fluffy, friendly, cute. They are happy, they love each other. These are two content individuals who are on their first and only relationship because they are hardcore canon and they will be married. One bought the other a dog for their birthday. Either a dog a cat or a turtle. Everyone ships them, even though they can be kind of annoying because they are so cute. You want the best for them. One does medieval sword fighting and the other does every martial-arts and you are impressed…. and very surprised. They are all the love languages, and teasing isn’t a love language, so it’s forbidden in their cute Christmas log cabin. This should not be taken as an offence to any Hufflepuffs, I am a Hufflepuff, and TBH I would never be able to sustain a relationship like this without losing my mind.

I’m sorry I lied, there are two more. Endo-Slytherin and Exo-Slytherin.

Endo-Slytherin is basically where they are only together because it benefits them. And both know it. That’s it, they are just there for the ship name, and the milkshake they get from winning the dare. They may learn to love each other, it is possible. But for that to happen they have to develop something called feelings and love and they don’t know what that is yet.

Exo-Slytherin, the world is thrown at them and they are trying to stay strong. This is more the crap Slytherins first years throw at Gryffindor first years. Their parents hate each other, their friends hate each other. One of them is forced to leave but they hold it up long distance. Then one of them is drugged and the other one sees a picture of them cheating, but they actually aren’t, and their strong trust is tested, but they get through. This ship could sail or hit an iceberg its really up to the writer. But I feel sorry for them, they just wanna be a Hufflepuff relationship, it is really not their fault.

That’s it.

“I will hurt you if you don’t go to sleep.” Isobel appeared in Max’s doorway at 2:48 am. To be honest, it was a Sunday night, so they did have school in a few hours.

“Don’t get your panties in a twist, Evans.” Maria told her.

“Ugh. Why is this my life?” Isobel closed the door, and returned to her own room.

“She gets cranky on lack of sleep.” Max offered.

“So she never sleeps?” Maria asked him.

“She’s not that bad, you know that.” Max defended his sister.

“To you, and for some crazy reason Michael Guerin, she’s not that bad. She’s a terror to every other living creature.”

“She loves cats.” Max interjected.

Maria rolled her eyes. “Back on subject. The dance is next friday - are you asking Liz?”

“Everyone knows she’s going with Kyle.”

“We’ve been over this, Max. Everybody assumes that, but it’s not confirmed. They haven’t been seen out together in over two weeks. You need to ask her.”

“Because biology is the best place to ask someone to go to a dance? While we’re discussing pig intestines, would you ever consider going to the dance with me?”

“Not what I would lead with.” Maria told him. “Look, you can approach her elsewhere. You can meet up with Guerin after one of the AP classes they share and ask her then.”

“So I can be even more publically humiliated?”

“You don’t give yourself enough credit.”

Max gave her a sarcastic look. “Says the girl who refuses to ask out her own crush, even after she held her hand for forty-five minutes.”

“Max, you don’t get it. Girls are way more touchy-feely than guys. They climb all over each other, and it means nothing except that you’re besties. Rosa holding my hand when I was upset was just her being a good friend.”

“Maria, she had hearts in her eyes the whole time, okay? She was looking at you like your crying was the end of her world.”

“Nah, that’s just the writer in you creating fictional scenarios where Rosa lending me her coat-”

“Which happened.”

“And holding my hand-”

“Which also happened.”

“After my latest bad dating experience means something.”

“Because it does, Maria. C’mon. This is not just the writer in me. It meant something.”

“That she’s a really good friend.”

Max made a disagreeing noise, and fell back on the air mattress. Maria looked down from the bed he’d sacrificed for her, and gave a small smile. “Look, if we don’t get some sleep, you’re sister will commit homicide.”

“Fratricide.” Max provided.

Maria rolled her eyes. “That you know the official word for that is sad, Max.”

“Go to sleep, Maria.”

“You two look dead on your feet.” Rosa mentioned when they entered the Crashdown Cafe.

“That’s what happens when you stay up until three am.” Isobel glared at them pointedly, before escaping away to a booth. Michael shrugged at them and followed her.

“Three am. Wow, like out on a… y’know, date?” Rosa seemed to find the notepad for writing orders down very interesting, even though Max was pretty sure he’d never seen her actually use it.

“What? Date?” Maria stared at her. “Me? Date Max?”

“Thanks for the severe disbelief in me being dating material.” Max told her.

“You’re dating material, just not my dating material.” Maria reassured him, before turning back to Rosa. “It was just a sleepover.”

“We kept waking Izzy up by laughing - she got cranky.” Max added.

“Oh.” Rosa looked relieved, and Max glanced at her suspiciously. “Well, that makes more sense. But there is a rumor you’re going to the dance together, y’know.”

“We’re each other’s failsafe for dance partner. You know that.” Maria told her.

“You two realize you’re seniors, right? You’re going to be a virgin forever if you keep going with a friend to dances.”

“I am not a virgin.” Maria objected.

“I’m talking about Max.”

“What? Hey, what makes you think I’m a virgin?” Max complained. Rosa gave him a sarcastic look.

“Well, speaking of virgins, is it true Liz is going to the dance with Kyle?” Maria interjected. Max gave her a nudge, which she ignored.

Rosa glanced over to where her younger sister was taking Isobel and Michael’s order. “They broke up, actually. He was being an asshole to Alex, so she told him to grow up. I think she’s planning on staying home.”

“Y’know, get us our usual - we’ll be over there.” Maria pointed to a booth.

“Yah, sure.”

“Did you hear that?”

“Rosa and you picking on me and Liz? I am not a virgin, by the way.” Max complained as they slid into opposite sides of the booth.

“Yah, as your bestie, I remember you calling me about that. And, no, not the virgin thing - that Liz and Kyle broke up.”

“So?”

“So, now is definitely your big chance.”

Max looked over to where Liz and Rosa were now at the counter, laughing. “She’s never going to say yes.”

“She totally will.”

“Okay, if I ask Liz to the dance - will you finally ask Rosa out?”

“How is that comparable?”

“Because she looked miserable when she thought we’d been out on a date until three am? Did you see her playing with her notepad? She wasn’t looking at us until we confirmed it wasn’t a date.”

“That doesn’t-”

“C’mon, Maria.”

“I can’t. What if it ruins our friendship?”

“Rosa is right about one thing.”

“That we’re never going to get laid again if we hang out with each other all the time?” Maria suggested.

Max rolled his eyes. “No, that we’re seniors. This is our last year, Maria. If we want something, maybe we should go for it.”

“Look, if you can get out of Rosa that she is even slightly interested in me as more than a friend, I’ll ask her. And... in return, I’ll help you find the perfect moment to ask Liz to the dance.”

“Pinky swear?” Max held out his hand.

“What are we? Seven?”

“C’mon, Maria.”

“PInky swear.” Maria latched her finger with his.

“Please tell me you aren’t finishing assignments ahead of schedule.” Rosa complained from where she was cleaning up dishes. “Also, we’re closed in ten.”

“No, this is… it’s just a story I was working on.” Max told her.

“Oh, yah, Liz mentioned you want to be a writer.”

“Liz mentioned that?” Max couldn’t help but smile. “I didn’t think she’d really remember that.”

“Liz mentions you all the time.”

“She does?”

Rosa rolled her eyes, muttering in spanish as she wiped down a different table.

“You know I know what you’re saying right?” Max brought up.

“Good.” Rosa told him with a pointed look.

“Okay, so if I’m a blind idiot, than… you are too.”

“Excuse you?” Rosa turned around. “What are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about Maria. I can see how much you care for her.”

“Yah, no kidding, she’s my best friend, too, remember?”

“C’mon, Rosa, you know that’s not what I mean.”

“And just what do you mean?” Rosa glared at him, her arms crossing in a posture that was both angry and defensive.

Max held up his hands in his own defense. “Hey, I’m not trying to start a fight, I can just tell. You were upset when you thought we’d hooked up or whatever.”

Rosa’s posture remained aggressive. “So? You got something to say about it?”

“Just that I want Maria to be happy, and I think she could be happy with you.”

Rosa blew out a breath, and sat down at his table - her previous defensive stance melting. “It’s not that simple.”

“Why not?”

“For starters, I’ve never been with another girl before.”

“Somehow, I don’t think dating would be that different, Rosa.”

“Second, she’s my best friend - what if this wrecks it?”

“Yah, but what if it doesn’t?”

“My father’s religious, Max. My whole family is. I don’t know how well he’d take me being with Maria, or any girl for that matter.”

“Your father loves you, Rosa. I know nothing can change that. He’s a great guy.”

Rosa twisted the dish towel in her hand, her look thoughtful. “That’s just it, I recently found out some stuff, and… I just don’t know about people anymore. Plus, this town, I mean, I don’t want Maria to get hurt.”

“Isn’t that risk partly up to Maria, though, not just you?”

“Not if I don’t ask her.”

“Yah, but this is… I mean, aren’t you the one always saying Maria and I play it too safe? We need to get out there, and take risks? I mean, relationships are the biggest gamble ever, but isn’t that because they have the best possible reward?”

Rosa looked down at the dishtowel in her hand as if it might have her answers. “It also has the worst fall out. God put our hearts in a cage for a reason, Max.”

“I just don’t think people are meant to live without someone by their side.”

“I don’t know. Maybe people need armor more than they need people.”

“Or maybe they need someone to be their shield when their armor breaks.”

Rosa gave a small smile. “That a good line. You should put it in your story.” She stood up to go back to cleaning. “We close in two minutes.”

“I can’t do this.”

“Yes, you can. Breathe.” Maria adjusted the collar on his shirt. “If you don’t ask her soon, she won’t have time to shop for a dress. As a girl, I can guarantee you that is a crime you will be judged for.”

“I just…maybe this isn’t a good time. I mean, she didn’t break up with Kyle that long ago.”

“You said Rosa said Liz mentions you. That’s a sign, Max.”

“Am I supposed to be this nervous?”

“Everything is going to be fine. You even got flowers. Did you ask Rosa’s advice on the flowers?”

“No, should I have?”

“Well… you know what? Don’t worry about it?”

“Are those flowers?” Liz and Alex had approached his car without them realizing it.

“Uh, yah.” Max glanced down at the small bouquet in his hand.

“So, um… you two are going to the dance together, I guess? Making it official?” Liz studied the books in her arms.

“Making what official?” Max asked her.

“This is such a trope, I can’t even watch.” Alex rolled his eyes. “I’ll see you at lunch, Liz.”

“What? Alex, wait, I’ll walk to class with you.”

“Liz, hold on, I wanted to ask you something.” Max spoke up.

“After biology, okay?” She told him, hurrying after Alex.

“Oh, that didn’t go as planned.” Maria groaned.

“Max and I aren’t together.”

“What?” Liz looked at Maria, where she’d appeared by her locker.

“Max and I aren’t together.”

“He brought you flowers.” Liz reminded her.

“No, he brought flowers to school to ask a girl to the dance. I was just pep talking him.”

“Oh, I guess I just thought… sorry. It’s none of my business either way.” She shut her locker.

“Aren’t you a genius? How are you this dense?” Maria lamented.

“It’s a town malfunction. I think it’s something in the water.” Isobel leaned against the lockers next to them.

Liz rolled her eyes. “What can I do for you, Isobel?”

“Explain why my brother threw away the lame bouquet he bought and is currently moping with Michael on the sports field bleachers?”

“Why should I know?”

“Is she for real?” Isobel asked Maria. Maria shrugged helplessly.

“Okay, well, fun chat.” Liz moved to leave when Isobel spoke again.

“The flowers were for you, Liz.”

“What?” Liz turned back.

“His lame romantic gesture was for you.”

Liz glanced at Maria, who nodded. “Max was going to ask me to the dance?”

“Emphasis on ‘was’. Now that you congratulated him on getting with Maria he’s convinced you don’t see him that way.”

“But I do. I mean, I would have said yes.”

“Sucks to be you.” Isobel straightened and turned to leave.

“Wait, what do I do?” Liz looked between Isobel and Maria.

“I mean, maybe talk to him?” Maria suggested. “Let him know it was a misunderstanding?”

“How? How would I even bring them up?”

“Oh my god.” Isobel turned back. “What century are you living in? The solution is simple. And my brother is a sunflower type of guy, not a rose type. Kay?”

“What do you want in return for being so helpful?” Maria was suspicious.

“Maybe Liz can convince Alex Manes to ask my best friend out? I’m getting tired of Michael dragging me to your mother’s lame ass bar on amateur night so he can make heart eyes at him while pretending to be there for me.”

“I thought they were dating.” Maria mentioned.

“No, they broke up at the end of summer and have been friendzoning each other ever since.” Liz provided.

“But they haven’t dated anyone else.”

“Nope.”

“I feel like I’m in a teen movie all of a sudden.”

“Welcome to my life.” Isobel turned and strode away.

“Look, maybe she was jealous.” Michael suggested. Max gave him a sarcastic look. “Just because she misunderstood you and Maria’s friendship doesn’t mean she’s not into you.”

“How would you know? You barely ever talk to Liz.” Max sighed. “This whole thing was a really bad idea.”

“Or maybe not.”

Max glanced over at him, but he was looking past him. When he turned, Liz was walking toward them up the stairs of the bleachers. She had a single sunflower in her hand. “Hey.” He greeted when she got close.

“Hey.” She greeted in return.

“That’s my cue to leave.” Michael grabbed up his books.

“But-” Max began.

“Let’s study at the crashdown tonight, if you’re free.” Michael told him.

“Hey, Michael, can you do me a favor?” Liz asked him.

“Me?”

“Yah, can you swing by the music room and tell Alex I can’t listen to his new song today, but I’ll call him tonight?”

“Don’t you have a cellphone for that purpose?”

“... out of battery.” Liz excused.

“Yah, sure.” He headed off.

“That sounded like a set up.” Max told her.

“It totally was.” Liz assured him.

“So, was that-”

“Maria told me you two weren’t, y’know, together.”

“I would have set you straight on that, but you were kinda in a rush.”

“I know. I just jumped to conclusions because you two have always been so close.” Liz explained.

“Maria’s my best friend, but we’re just friends. She feels the same way.”

“I ran into your sister, too.”

“Isobel? Now, I’m really worried. I know how she gets.”

“She was actually really helpful.” Liz admitted. “She made me realize that if I keep waiting, time is gonna run out.”

“Waiting for what?”

Liz took a deep breath, then held up the sunflower. “Max Evans, will you go to the dance with me?”

Max’s eyes widened. “You really mean that?”

“I mean, I did bring you a flower.” Liz teased, but then grew serious - stepping back. “But if that’s too-”

“Yes. Liz, I’d love to go to the dance with you.” Max spoke up before she could backtrack too far.

“Really?”

“Yes. I was going to ask you, but after this morning I thought… you weren’t interested.”

“I just didn’t want to interfere if you were happy with someone else. I should have heard you out, though.”

“...Is the flower really for me?”

“It is. Someone reminded me what century it was. So if I was going to ask you to the dance, I should bring flowers, right?” She offered the sunflower, which Max took.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been given a flower before.” He admitted. “I kinda like it.”

“Yah?” Liz smiled up at him, stepping closer.

“Yah.” Max reached out to tuck her hair behind her ear, his hand lingering. Liz leaned into the touch, eyes bright as they gazed at each other. Right when Max stepped closer, leaning down towards her the bell rang. “I guess that’s our cue.”

“Or we could… skip the rest of the day.” Liz suggested.

“Skip? Where’s Liz and what have you done with her?” Max grinned.

“C’mon, for once, we can be rebels. Screw the rules, right?”

“Yah, screw the rules.”

They gazed at each other for a moment, before breaking into laughter. “Or maybe we can just be tardy for this one period?” Liz suggested instead.

“Just this one.” Max agreed. The two allowed their lips to meet in a kiss that slowly deepened, ignoring the world around them for just a little while.

“I thought I’d find you up here.” Maria wandered over to where Rosa was lying beneath the Crashdown Cafe sign.

“The sheer level of disgusting cuteness downstairs drove me away.” Rosa complained.

“It’s not that bad.”

“It kind of is. Max and my sister are sharing a Little Green Man Shake. With two cherries. Which I could make a really rude comment about-”

“But you’re not going to, because that’s your little sister and her new boyfriend. C’mon, scoot over.”

Rosa curled her legs up, but didn’t sit up. Maria sat next to her, and Rosa promptly stretched her legs out over her lap. Maria laughed, but placed her hands gently on her legs. “I bet they’re going to get married and have two kids and three puppies.”

“I’m not sure I trust Max with a puppy. He’d never train it properly.”

“You’re right. Plus, Liz forgets to feed herself, she’d never remember to feed a dog. They’ll have to settle for goldfish.”

Maria laughed. “Well, Manes and Guerin can have the puppy.”

“What is in the water? Rosa lamented. “Love Potion Number Nine?”

“If I recall the lyrics right, love potion number nine did not have good results.”

“You would know that.”

“I could probably sing it.”

“You’re voice is beautiful, but please don’t.”

Maria paused. “You think my voice is beautiful?”

“You could probably sing someone commercial jingles and they’d fall in love with you.” Rosa offered.

Maria took a deep breath. “Rosa, can you sit up?”

“You okay?” Rosa swung her legs off her lap and sat up. Her eyes were concerned.

“I just need to say something. And I need to look at you when I say it.”

“Well, you’re looking at me.” Rosa took her hand in hers. “C’mon, talk to me.”

Maria pulled her hand away, causing a frown to mar Rosa’s features. Maria took a deep breath as she stared at her friend’s confused expression. “Rosa, I… I thought about not doing this. I mean, I didn’t plan on doing it ever, but this past week I was going to do it, and then I thought about not doing it. But…” Maria stood, and paced away, before turning back. “I can’t stand not knowing. I don’t want to spend the rest of my life wondering what if.”

“Maria?”

“I like you. As more than a friend, and I keep thinking maybe you like me back. Then I just wonder if I’m reading into this what I want to read into this. So, just, if that’s true - then okay. I’ll be okay, we’ll be okay. But I have to know one way or the other.” Rosa looked down at her hands, not replying. As the silence stretched, Maria blinked back tears. “Got it. I won’t ask again.” She turned to go back downstairs, but was brought up short by Rosa’s voice.

“You’re so beautiful sometimes that it takes my breath away.”

Rosa wasn’t looking at her when she turned back - her eyes were still on her hands, which she’d clasped together.

“I want to reach out and touch you, but I’m afraid if I do I’ll shatter you like I shatter everything in my life. You’re light and hope and laughter, and I don’t want the world to destroy that. I don’t want to destroy that.”

“You won’t.”

“You don’t know that.” Rosa stood up, finally looking at her. “That’s what this world is like - it chews you up and it spits you out and every day is a struggle. Our hearts are caged because they’re stupid, fragile things and the world breaks them and us.”

Maria tilted her head up, determined. “You’re wrong. Our hearts aren’t caged because they’re fragile. They’re caged because they’re wild and dangerous and stronger than the world around us can ever be.”

Rosa gave an aborted half laugh.. “That is so like you.”

“Broken things mend, Rosa. They’re never the same, but they mend. And that’s beautiful, too.”

“Aren’t you even a little afraid?” Rosa asked her, moving forward toward her.

“I’m terrified.” Maria admitted, moving forward to meet her in the middle.. “But I don’t want to let that stop me. I want this.”

Rosa met her gaze, then slowly raised a hand to caress the side of her face. “I want this, too.”

Maria placed her hand over Rosa’s, watching her a moment before leaning in. Rosa met her, her lips melding with hers and making her heart beat with something wildly different than fear.

I will have you know this is not the fic I needed to write today. XD And it’s simultaneously way longer than I intended, and way shorter than this fic idea deserves. My muse wouldn’t leave me alone, though, so here we are.
