A Slept-On Review: WWE Smackdown 9/23/22
Note: to anyone who took the time to read my very emotional post last night, thank you.
Tumblr media
The Bloodline Segment
The entire Bloodline enters. It’s really cool to see them all together. I am unfortunately reminded of both the existence of Crown Jewel and that Roman is wrestling Logan Paul. Once again, Paul Heyman saves the day and my interest in the segment. Simply, “You don't boo the Wiseman”. Solo officially acknowledges Roman and they share a hug. It’s an excellent moment to see them being affectionate. It reminds me that they are, at the core, a family. Sami cuts the music as they all go to leave. Sami wanted to acknowledge Roman himself, and in the process, very awkwardly gets sentimental. Roman laughs, asks him why he is talking, and demands he remove his Bloodline shirt. The turn had arrived. Jey rips the shirt off of him, and you can tell Roman is breaking Sami’s heart. Then Roman gives it right back, along with Sami’s new honorary Uce shirt. Jey is pissed, but I loved every second.
Liv Morgan vs Lacey Evans
Lacey looks weird and really shouldn't be here, but at least Liv gets some fire at her expense. She’s getting scary.  Lacey tries a kendo stick and is met with a wonky code breaker. Liv recovers and gets the pin We get an after-match attack, with Liv taking control of the kendo stick. She yells, “I can get extreme!” and launches Lacey into the barricade. Liv continues with a beautiful senton, sending Lacey through the table.
I still can't help but see her as a little baby, but Liv Morgan is showing she is capable, strong, and aggressive when she needs to be. I love her so much.
Backstage Segments
This all technically occurs throughout the episode in very small segments, but I’m going to summarize it all here to avoid breaking up the overall story. Hit Row and Street Profits are having a party backstage, and Shin joins them as an apparent “Sami Zayn” of the group. As they are joined by more of the roster, such as Sonya, Natalya, Angel, and Humberto. Angel and Humberto interrupt B-Fab’s conversation in what seemed to be an attempt at flirting with her. B-Fab snaps back, and soon after, Top Dolla forces the men to back down by slamming them into the ground. A match is set up for next week against the tag teams. It’s all fun to watch, and it’s a quick way of getting them in the ring with some sort of motivation.
In another section of the backstage area, Madcap and Ricochet find Sami. I once again ask, why are these men partnered up now? They’re somehow buddies now, and it just does not work for me. They begin to basically bully Sami. They proceed to get obliterated by Solo for disrespecting Sami.
The New Day vs MMM
All my boys in one match! I already loved this from the moment it was announced. Also, the outfits on both teams are incredible. If you don't watch anything else, watch this match just for the aesthetics. MMM owns it for a while, and uses some really great cheeky heel work to gain advantages. However, New Day is able to sneak a smooth pin, and basically steal the victory.
Otis vs Braun Strowman
This was exactly what you'd expect if you know anything about these men, except not a squash. They throw themselves at each other and throw each other around. Braun has the momentum and an important storyline, so he gets the win.  But, he still gets a real fight. I see you HHH making good writing decisions.
Drew McIntyre Promo
Drew is here and has a leather strap. He calls out Kross and challenges him to a Strap match. Despite its bad name, it’s a fun concept. Instead of being attached at the neck like a Dog Collar match, they will be attached at the wrist. Kross enters, and we get a preview of Drew’s plans: big kicks and whipping. Scarlett intervenes, of course, with a fireball. I see that’s just what we’re doing when we need a woman to distract someone, especially if she’s creepy.  This isn’t enough to stop Drew, but a low blow works. I enjoyed it up until Scarlett’s intervention. Not because she intervened, but because it was disjointed. The fireball has been used, but even if that’s what we’re going for, the low blow felt childish and not the vibe they seem to be going for.
We don't get very far into the match before shots Shotzi shows up to intervene. Raquel takes advantage of the distraction and gets the quick pin in. So a short match, which is especially disappointing in the women's division, but I don't mind how they did it this time as much as I usually do. It made sense and allows Shotzi to officially fill the spot of the injured Aliyah.
The Usos vs The Brawling Brutes
I honestly forgot this match happened for a bit. It was another good but predictable match. It’s Interference city, with Sheamus and the Bloodline at ringside. At one point, Sami got a chair after frantically looking for something to help his new cousins just to be stopped by Sheamus which made for a very funny moment. The biggest problem? Imperium’s intervention. I didn't like it, but I am very biased here. I was hoping this could be a big moment for the Brutes, but Usos still retain.

the little things ; haikyuu boys
synopsis; the little things he does that show just how much he loves you
pairings; karasuno x reader, aoba johsai x reader, fukurodani x reader, nekoma x reader, shiratorizawa x reader
genre; fluff
warnings; will make u hate being single <3
Tumblr media
karasuno ━━
sugawara koshi; whenever your hair gets caught in anything, he’s so gentle yet quick at fixing it. if your hair is long, and you pull a bag or a shirt and your hair gets tucked in, he’ll wordlessly pull it out. if your hair is short and a bracelet or zipper gets caught he just continues whatever he was doing (talking to someone else for e.g.) while helping you out. also always makes sure your hair isn’t bothering you; if you’re leaning over writing something, he’ll always tuck it behind your ear so lovingly ahhh
daichi sawamura; massages. he’s descended from heaven for this purpose only. his hands are rough and like hard on your muscles, but it’s so perfect. he’ll approach you when you’re in school sitting anywhere, from behind, and just knead his hands into your muscles for a few seconds. euphoric. or if you live together, he always greets you with back/shoulder/neck massages in the bathtub hvjkwkd.
nishinoya yuu; always makes you try his food. always. whether it’s with a group of people or just you two, he just goes “hey babe open ur mouth” with this face bc he’s cheeky, and just shoves a mouthful of food. spoiler alert, it’s always way too hot. but it’s just tradition at this point. he takes a bite of his food, decides if it’s worthy enough for your mouth or not, then just. yeah.
kageyama tobio; buys you a snack whenever he gets his milk. if you’re special special, he’ll buy you your own carton of milk. he goes up to the vending machine and automatically thinks of you when he sees your fave snack, and it’s like mindless at this point he just routinely does it. it still surprises you to this day, even when he’s so nonchalant about it.
tsukishima kei; kisses your forehead. tsukki is not too big on pda, and even privately he’s not very touchy feely either tbh. but just a simple peck on your forehead grounds you, and it’s a small reminder of the fact that despite his outward coldness, he really does love you. he rarely does it in front of others, but sometimes, he’ll indulge both you and him, and settle a small kiss on your temple just randomly.
asahi azumane; anime jesus always has a hair tie/clip carried around for you on his wrist/in his pockets. i mean he’s always needing them, he just stocks up when he starts dating you. somehow he’s always there when you’re frustrated with your hair all over the place what a savior. later on it evolves to him carrying around your scrunchie and yes the boys make fun yes he blushes but no he does not take it off.
tanaka ryunosuke; carries you on his back, or your things, when you’re too tired to walk. whether that be if you’re too tired because of your heels or you’re just lazy, he just loves helping you out what a respectful gentleman. honestly it just becomes that every time he sees you he like barricades over to you so quick and flips you onto his shoulder or spins you around. anyways. walking with tanaka means walking empty handed bc he will never let you carry anything. ( shifts pile of bags on one arm just to hold your hand ).
hinata shoyo; learns hairstyles to try on you. whether it be short hair or long hair, expect his youtube search history to look a lot like “how to make a french braid” or “cute hairstyles for short hair for your cute girlfriend”. he’s always so entranced by you and watches so carefully whenever you do anything on your hair, and he gets do excited whenever you let him try and he gets it right. also !!! a lot of the times you’ll sit between his legs and he’ll just softly card his fingers through your hair or lightly braid it.
yamaguchi tadashi; buys you flowers a lot. he doesn’t overdo it, just so it doesn’t lose its value and worth. but for example, mondays suck ass and he knows how much you hate them, so he always makes sure to either leave a single rose on your desk/in your locker or give it to you himself if he can. it’s so endearing and motivating honestly, and the constant reminder every once in a while is so cute. continues to do it even like 3 years in, which is so fkn sweet honestly.
Tumblr media
nekoma ━━
kuroo tetsurō; plans the best dates. seriously. like not one moment spent with him is dull. i don’t think being with kuroo entails a high energy relationship, i just mean that even a walk in the park is fun with him. he also always knows when to plan a fancy dinner and when it’s just something casual. like he always puts in so much effort, gives 120%, for every date with you. is your favorite band/singer/artist in town? he’s got tickets. the weather is amazing? you’re going to the beach. you’re sleep deprived? nap dates. 10/10
kozume kenma; he teaches you how to play his games. the fact that he’s letting you touch the console in itself says enough, but whenever he buys a new one, and learns it thoroughly enough, he will always sit by you and teach you its ways. picture you sitting in his lap while he guides your hands <333 if you’re not a gamer, he’s actually v flattered by the fact you’re willing to sit through this w him. but if you are a gamer, expect daily competitions. oh and if you beat him? you’re dead to him :).
haiba lev; instead of reaching for things that you’re too short for to grab it himself, he just lifts you up lmfao. i mean w the way he teases yaku, i can imagine he’d be v teasing with you as well if you’re even an inch shorter than him. but fret not! it’s all in the name of love. he’s very loving though, and if he sees you struggling he’ll just wordlessly hoist you up from your waist or something. at first it’s terrifying, but later on it just makes you giggle cause he’s like so willing to do it and it’s effortless for him hehe.
yaku morisuke; always makes sure you’re taking care of yourself, but kinda aggressively? lmao anyways. like he’s always “babe have u eaten” and if u say no expect him to start yelling like “what do you mean no??? are you insane???” v dramatic but honestly <333 he’s always texting you after parting ways “did you get home safe” or on weekends where he cant meet you, he’s asking how it was, if you indulged yourself a bit, relaxed. it’s very sweet and he makes sure it’s not overbearing. he just wants his baby to be healthy and happy.
yamamoto taketora; walks on the side with the cars. it’s not a very noticeable thing, but you see it, and you recognize it. he makes sure he’s always walking where cars are speeding by, a hand on the small of your back guiding you away and to the other side of him. it’s the little notions of protectiveness like if he’s driving and stops suddenly, he’ll put a hand out to keep you from lurching forward, he pushes you gently out of the way before you bump into someone. things like that.
Tumblr media
aoba johsai ━━
oikawa tōru; he doodles in your notebooks, or on your skin. if you have class with him, and sit next to him, he’ll always be doodling on your notebook like little hearts or stupid, cute things like your initials + his in a heart. or if you’re at a study date together, and you’re focused on your laptop screen, he’ll leave little encouraging messages on your notes for you to notice when you’re revising. sometimes you’ll be sitting with him at lunch or even if you’re out w him and a bunch of other people, and he happens to have a pen. expect a little smiley face on your inner wrist, or a heart plus his initials ( o.t. )
iwaizumi hajime; he helps you take off your make up/takes it off for you. if you’re too sleepy, he’ll just take the products he’s used to seeing you use and start following it step by step after he props you up next to the sink. while he stands between your thighs he just so gently starts rubbing at your skin and washing away the make up. if you’re already asleep, he’ll have to like google the steps oh my god im gonna cry hes so cute. if you don’t necessarily wear make up, then he’ll just help you do your nightly routine, or even your shower routine, like using a body scrub or a face mask or, bruh, even shaving lmfao.
hanamaki takahiro; saves everything you buy/send/make him. i mean everything. has literally over two thousand photos of you, all the polaroids or postcards are saved in a little box he has under his bed. anything you make him (unless it’s edible) he has. if you make him a small embroidery thing he will literally attach it to his sports bag or something. any chain you make him is automatically added to his keychain. that flower crown you made with him on one of your first dates? he still has it. the flowers are dead but the memory loves babyyyy
matsukawa issei; carries extra clothes of his for you to borrow. hey have i mentioned that mattsun is big? 😃 because he is 😃. meaning regardless of your size or height or whatever, his clothes will drown you <3 i see him as preferring more oversized or just loose shirts rather than tight ones, so yk. on you???? if y’all are just hanging out and you even think about being slightly cold — here have five options of mattsun’s clothes to choose from. he always makes sure they smell like him too. it’s self indulgent really, because he loves the way they look on you, and he loves that it leaves a trace of his scent on you. territorial? i think yes.
Tumblr media
fukurodani ━━
bokuto kōtarō; always hugs you like it’s the last time he’ll see you. sometimes, even if he doesn’t know it, you need his hugs badly. y’all are gonna try and tell me bokuto doesn’t give the best fkn hugs??? yeah get outta here with that bs. he SO does. he either kneels down and wraps his arms around your waist, picks you up, and spins you around, like he hasn’t seen you in 3 years, or he’ll just wrap his arms around your neck and pull your head to his chest, cradling it, and just sighing like he won’t see you for the next 3 years. his hugs always make you feel so much better, even if you weren’t feeling down to begin with.
akaashi keiji; plays with your hands and caresses them. it’s the delicate feel and gentleness of it all. akaashi’s generally an anxious person, leaving him very fidgety. but once you two get together, and he starts being comfortable with you, expect to find your hand always between the two of his, just fondling with him. he’ll trace random figurines on the back of your hand, or have his fingers ghost over your wrist and up to your fingertips. if his hands are especially shaky, expect him to just grab one of your yours and hold it tightly between the grasp of two of his. it conveys trust, and all you have to do is kiss his knuckles gently and he’s melting.
konoha akinori; he has your reminders app linked with his, and sneaks in small, motivating messages. every once in a while you’ll get a notification from the app that tells you to drink water or have a snack (or text konoha he’s bored and he misses you). also always sends you pictures to distract you from stress. like it could literally just be a picture of him smiling with a thumbs up and you’d just ,,, melt bc you love him so much.
Tumblr media
shiratorizawa ━━
ushijima wakatoshi; he has so many plants that are named after you, or your nicknames, and he’s like so gentle with them too. like strokes their petals and speaks to them so softly, the same way he does with you. you’re honestly so curious how he hasn’t run out of names, but he’s just a genius like that. whenever you go over to his place, and he’s bought a new one, he’ll take your hand and guide you to where it’s growing and just be like “look it’s baby y/n” and you just 🥺🥺🥺
semi eita; he has a playlist on his phone, that’s constantly being updated, for you and him to listen to. the first time he showed it to you, you were stargazing and he took out his phone and headphones and was like “i made a playlist for you wanna list” and every part of your body lit up in flames im not joking. now, a lot of the times, you’re coming back home on a train, and your head is on his shoulder and you’re sharing headphones listening to the playlist. when either one of you is driving you’re blasting it (a lot of the playlist is the hsm soundtrack)
satori tendō; tendo reads people so well, and being in a relationship with him means he will read you so well. so a lot of the times, in social situations, he’ll recognize the signs of you wanting to leave, for example, or if someone’s bothering you, he’ll know exactly how to approach it too. this also entails having a lotta inside jokes hehe, and also just like. talking with your eyes. yk that thing. yeah. all you have to do is look at him a certain way, and he just knows exactly what you just said.
goshiki tsutomu; he buys the both of you this small plushie, and whenever you’re missing each other you just. squish it. and he squishes his. he would rather die than let anyone know this, but you’re not too keen on letting anyone know yourself tbh. it’s just this little thing you have, and it means a lot more to you than just this. when he first bought it he was like “look we have matching plushies” and you passed away on the spot ❤️
shirabu kenjirō; loves trying out new recipes with you. he’s not too big on cooking or baking, but there’s just something about doing it with you that really — hits the spot yk. nowadays, whenever he comes across a new recipe on social media that he thinks you’ll like he just automatically sends it to you like with no words no texts just the post and you’re like “OMG CAN WE DO THIS” and he’s like “why else would i send it. yes we can :)” hvskwkeke
Tumblr media
end note;  thank you sm for the love on my last two posts!! i’m glad you guys enjoyed them sm. if you have any requests, they’re open and i’m happy to deliver, mwah!

kaeya as your boyfriend!
Tumblr media
seeing all these hc’s for genshin is making me sob like god damn all these enemies to lovers for childe and lumine is making me simp for him. also i’ll never shut up about kaeya his yoho in the manga reminds me of oikawa and that just throws me into a whole other world of hurt
&& this is potentially the last piece of genshin content that i’ll post in a while bc i don’t just want to write purely abt genshin however !! if someone asks for it who am i to say no?
neways,,, kaeya as ur boyfriend!
the beginning of your relationship would have originated with his confession to you
despite being a huge romantic, kaeya confessed to you with no prior planning, nothing spectacular like a mysterious note leading to a tree caked in snow despite the rest of the world enveloped in a still night
in fact, kaeya hadn’t even come to terms with his true feelings when it occurred, he simply knew that he found you fascinating and of good company. besides, you easily bounced back his roundabout way of talking and your banter provided him good humour
so when the two of you were casually patrolling the streets of the city on the lookout for potential hazards, he’d dropped the bomb mid conversation when you guys were talking about your family
“yeah, i totally get that.” you had said in reply to his advice. “i’m just anxious i guess, on what i should do. after taking so long, is my brother even still alive?” after a shaky inhale, you laughed off the suddenly sombre atmosphere. “sorry, i didn’t mean to bring the mood down. i suppose i just felt a bit alone in this whole situation. its like no one is taking my brother’s disappearance seriously and its being overlooked because of all this dragon business.”
kaeya hadn’t been sure as to what to say for he felt slightly guilty for forgetting the reason why you ended up here as well. he felt an odd pang in his chest at your crestfallen expression, more so at how much you tried to cover it up with a smile.
he’d suddenly turn from walking beside you to standing in front, gauging your expression and successfully halting you in your step
he’d confess with a smile, clearly not expecting a response and solely in hopes of letting you know that he cared for you and you weren’t alone. he wouldn’t be nervous ion think, he knows his worth and would be completely comfortable with only being your friend. he’d let the news comprehend in your mind before turning around, wishing you a goodnight and a slight pun about how the early bird gets the worm
oh boy, kaeya’d would have never expected you to return his feelings but you did anyway, replying in a similar, quiet tone, expressing the emotions that you felt around the ice man and only THEN did he blush. he’d hid the majority of his reddening face behind his palm, looking off the right slightly to try and hide his face from you. the fluistered look on his face sent you out of this world
neways, the night ended in a limbo between awkward, flustered glances and timid silence, and finding the situation hilarious because well,, it just was to you two
the day after that, your relationship was relatively the same
except, kaeya no longer hid his lingering looks at you anymore which made 1). you blush and 2). everyone suspicious
but i mean they called it so,,,
everyone, that is, except paimon who exists only to be the biggest cockblocker you’ve ever met. no like seriously, did almost drowning cause the last sliver of common sense to escape from her?
regardless, paimon was on your ass every. single. time you and kaeya talked whether it be in private or within a group
like that one time when kaeya managed to get you alone in the library, having not had the opportunity to talk to you privately all day
he had stood a little too close to you (bc kaeya is a : dom and towering over you is something he would find pleasure in doing) as you talked. clearly, he wasn’t paying attention to your attempt at small talk instead opting to inch you closer to the wall with a smirk
you’re not completely dense, you knew exactly what he was doing but he was hot so you let it slide, finding the situation kinda addicting to be in
“anyway, amber was telling me something about cleaning up the aftermath of stormterror, something about barricades and the like, are you going to be helping us this time?” you had asked him, eyebrow raised over the book you had clutched to your chest
kaeya smirks and steps closer again, causing you to back away slightly. “and if i don’t?”
“go ahead and find out yourself, pretty boy, see how well that turns out.”
the bored challenge in your voice disappears when he closes the gap between you two, placing a forearm easily above your head and tilting your body in that respective direction, easily caging you in
“caring for me? where did your tsundere act go?” he whispered, breath tickling the hairs framing your face. by now, you were sure it was obvious that you were blushing
your eyes flick to his lips and back to his eye, his own catching the movement and you swore his lips stretched further into that smirk. his face edges closer to yours, a still silence in the form of an inhaled breath tense in the air and just as kaeya’s lips touched your own
the door to the library slams open
kaeya immediately brings his head up and checks behind his shoulder, body still encasing yours but this time in order to protect you
and you can’t see because,, well,, kaeya’s body was obstructing your vision so you turn to look around him but he moves that way too, protecting you from the intruder’s sight
but well, you didn’t need to see the person to know them because their voice was a dead give away
“kaeya!” paimon exclaimed and you hear kaeya’s short huff of exhaustion. “have you seen name? she said she was around here but,,, paimon hasn’t seen her anywhere. why are you looking at paimon like that?”
convinced that she wasn’t a threat, kaeya sighs and leans his forehead against yours. you giggle slightly
paimon finally sees you, at least your figure anyway and gasps. “wait a minute, is that a girl paimon is seeing? kaeya, what are you doing with this girl? unless,,, omg are you cheating on name?”
and without looking at the floating human, kaeya tells her to leave in a firm voice. clearly, he didn’t like any of this bullshit
and paimon gets a little scared before she huffs, telling him that she was totally going to tell you what he was doing
and the door slams after her with extra intended force and with the help of a few icicles
kaeya opens his eyes and gazes longingly at you, frustrated and annoyed at well,, being cockblocked. the moment of intense sexual tension is over and being flustered is well past you know. besides, you kinda wanted to clear up the misunderstanding before paimon spreads some nasty rumour. and sure, kaeya couldn’t care less about his reputation, but you cared about his
so you laugh at his misery and give him a quick peck on the lips before ducking under his arm and exiting the library
kaeya would be a little stunned at your move on him, but he was well aware of your cheeky side. for the rest of the day, he would declare war on you, trying to get you flustered again (bc its funny and cute). he’d do things like cooling his skin when you accidently touch him, standing way too close to you in group discussions and !! breathing down your neck (bc mans has cold breath) and just generally looking at your direction
you’d fight back bc he’s being ridiculous, winking when you caught him staring, squeezing his hand when he walks past and jokingly avoiding his attempts to get you in private
bc i mean, there was a dragon terrorising the world so romance shouldn’t be your first priority
a shame that kaeya thinks he’s all that and confident in his abilities that he’s like yes i can juggle saving the world and winning over my girlfriend in my sleep wym
when this silly “fight” is over, you finally let kaeya drag you into an alleyway, pressing you up against the wall and kissing you without words
and you smile into the kiss bc frustrated kaeya is so cute
and that’s the relationship, just a mix of pure fluff (bc kaeya really does care for you a lot), stupid banter and sexual tension!!
wow!

The Funhouse
Deacon and Sole Fanfic
[AO3]
[Part 1] [Part 2] [Part 3]
The Funhouse
“I take it finding Danse and MacCready is now our second priority?” Deacon asked as he followed Sole from the junkyard outside of Nuka-World to the Kiddie Kingdom.”Because you know they’re investigating Dry Rock Gulch, right?”
“They’re big boys, they can take care of themselves,” Sole answered dismissively with a wave of her hand. “And I already told you, we’ve got more important things to do.”
“More important than finding the kidnapped Synth?” Deacon asked, a grin on his lips as he trotted to catch up with Sole.
Their hands brushed accidentally as he walked beside her and he quickly pulled away. Deacon was finally starting to learn to keep his physical distance from Sole. He needed as many safeguards from whatever spell she had over him as he could get. The sunglasses were a start, but avoiding their regular casual contact was starting to be a necessity.
Trying to ignore his attraction to Sole had become a losing battle, so Deacon was playing the defense game.
“Obviously nothing is more important than finding the kidnapped Synth,” Sole said. “But there’s no reason they might not be in the funhouse at Kiddie Kingdom.”
Deacon gave Sole a skeptical raise of his eyebrows. “I mean, while we’re at it, the kidnapped synth could very well be on the roller coaster in the Galactic Zone. We should probably check there too.”
“We probably should.” Sole nudged Deacon with her shoulder, giving him a cheeky smile.
He laughed nervously but took a tiny step away from Sole to discourage any further touching. It wasn’t because he didn’t want Sole to touch him. It was because he did.
“Listen, Charmer, I’m all for having a good time, but isn’t this place… kinda creepy?” Deacon asked, glancing at the derelict theme park over the top of his sunglasses.
Sole stopped in her tracks and turned on her heel to face him, the apples of her cheeks round with glee. “Are you scared?” She dragged out the last word in a taunting way, poking her finger into his chest as she said it.
Again with the touching.
He wished he didn’t love it so much.
“Obviously I’m a big strong man. I’m not scared of anything,” Deacon began. “I’m just worried about your poor feminine sensibilities. I’m not sure they can handle this place. Women’s brains just aren’t wired for this sort of thing.”
Sole narrowed her eyes at Deacon, sizing him up. She knew he was joking, but she still took the opportunity to take a step closer to him, her voice low. “I think we both know who the brave one is in this partnership.”
She was much too close to him. He swallowed hard and tried to play off his discomfort with a laugh, but it sounded wrong.
“If you’re so brave then why don’t you go into the funhouse first?” It was a lame dare, but he needed any excuse to get her away from him. All he wanted to do was crush his lips to hers.
“”Watch and learn, stealth boy,” she said, using her favorite nickname for him.
Sole walked confidently through the funhouse doors, swaying her hips as she did so. Deacon hated the way his eyes automatically roamed over her curves when she wasn’t looking, but he couldn’t deny that the view was impeccable.
“Are you coming?” Sole asked over her shoulder.
Deacon gave himself a little shake and ran into the funhouse after her. “You know, if you wanted to die, there are much quicker and less terrifying ways to do that.”
“But where would be the fun in that?” Sole asked, taking Deacon’s hand in hers and leading him through the first set of doors they found.
The two were immediately set off balance by a black and white room with a spinning floor. Sole collapsed into Deacon’s arms, knocking him against the wall as he held her up with his arms around her waist.
His plan to limit their physical contact wasn’t off to a great start.
Carnival music played in the spinning room and when Sole regained her footing, she didn’t pull away from Deacon like he thought she would. Instead, she leaned her weight against him, pushing his back more firmly against the wall.
“Thanks for the assist,” she said, wrinkling her nose up at him in a smile.
Why did she have to be so adorable?
“Any time, Charmer,” he answered, his voice as unsteady as he felt. “You need help getting back on your feet?”
He was trying to get her away from him again. But she didn’t move. Instead, she only leaned against him more firmly with a devilish grin on her angelic features. “I actually like where I am right now.”
Deacon tried as hard as he could to keep his cheeks from flushing. “I can’t say I blame you. I tend to have that effect on women.”
When in doubt, default to joking.
“I spend most of my life breaking hearts. It’s a gift and a curse.”
Sole bit her lip as she looked up at Deacon through her eyelashes. “More gift than curse I’d say.”
Deacon was incredibly grateful for the sunglasses that hid the fact that he was openly staring at Sole’s lips now. They had a cherry tint to them from the lipstick she’d been rationing since leaving the vault. And they looked even fuller when she took her bottom lip between her teeth.
It took Deacon a moment to regain his senses and when he did, he desperately thought of some way he could joke his way out of this. “Just imagine how hard it is for the people who don’t get to see this beauty up close? All they can do is fantasize. But you? You’ve got a front row seat to this walking piece of art.”
“A front row seat?” Sole said with a challenging raise of her eyebrows. “Is this an interactive show?”
The room was still spinning, though Deacon wasn’t sure how much of that was the actual funhouse anymore.
“It could be,” he said.
Why had he said that? He was trying to keep his distance.
Sole let a tiny grin tug at the corner of her mouth as she stared at Deacon in the spinning room. She almost looked like she might pull away from him and at the mere thought, panic rose in his chest.
He didn’t care how complicated it would make things. He didn’t care that he had sworn off personal relationships. He wanted to be close to her.
Without another thought, Deacon pulled Sole tightly against his chest and pressed his lips to hers. She instantly melted into the kiss, moving her lips over his softly at first. Her softness, however, was quickly replaced by more desperate kisses as she pressed herself against him. Sole took a handful of Deacon’s Cappy shirt to pull him closer, even though they were already incredibly close. She tangled her hands in his hair that he’d grown out and dyed dark, just because he knew Sole liked it that way.
She inhaled him as they both moved together, fitting like puzzle pieces. Deacon didn’t even care that the room was still spinning and that there were probably ferals nearby. All he cared about was this moment with Sole. This perfect moment where he was finally taking what he’d wanted for so long.
When Sole moaned into his mouth, he got chills all over his body. He’d thought making Sole laugh would always be his favorite accomplishment, but this sound he’d just elicited from her had just topped the list. It only encouraged him to deepen the kiss, hungrily moving his hands over her hips, across her waist, up her back, and into her hair.
He felt like he couldn’t breathe, but that was the last thing he cared about right at that moment. He’d happily die like this. Sole continued to kiss him like she’d wanted this as much as he did, even though he had a hard time believing that.
Deacon wasn’t sure they’d ever break apart, until a raspy voice rang out over a scratchy loudspeaker in the room, instantly causing Sole to jump away from him. “While I appreciate the show, I’m usually the one providing the entertainment here.”
Even though Sole had broken the kiss at the sound of the mysterious voice, she still held Deacon close, her arms around his waist.
“Who was that?” she asked in a panic.
He wasn’t sure if she was panicked because some mysterious person  was apparently also in the funhouse with them, or because they’d been caught in a compromising position.
“Just thought we’d be an opening act,” Deacon said to the otherwise empty room. He was trying to play it cool when he was internally losing his mind over the kiss he and Sole had just shared. “What can we expect from the main attraction?”
Deacon kept a protective arm around Sole in the spinning room, his eyes darting all over to try to find the source of the voice.
“I am Oswald the Outrageous, and you two are trespassing in my territory.”
Spotting the loud speaker overhead, Deacon took Sole’s hand in his and pulled her through a nearby red door that led to a hallway full of spinning tunnels. If he hadn’t been dizzy enough from the kiss, this room was sure to do him in.
“Sorry for the inconvenience,” Deacon began, making sure to speak loudly enough for Oswald to hear him over the hum of machinery in the funhouse. “We were just looking for a friend of ours. Goes by the name of H3-56.”
“You weren’t looking very hard, were you?” Oswald asked, his voice sly and suggestive.
Had Deacon not been worried about how much of a threat this stranger posed, he might have been embarrassed by the man’s words.
“H3-56 wandered into my territory, much like you two did.”
“And did you give him the same warm greeting?” Deacon asked.
“We need to find out where this person is,” Sole whispered to him, her eyes full of concern in the green glow of the hallway.
Deacon nodded in understanding but didn’t respond.
“Turns out H3-56 is a freak like me,” Oswald said. “He understood what it’s like to be cast out by the rest of society… so I let him go.”
Sole gave Deacon a surprised look. “Well, we appreciate your hospitality,” Deacon began. “I guess we don’t need to keep searching. Thanks for doing our job for us. We’ll just be going, but don’t worry, we’ll visit your gift shop on the way out; pick something up for Dez.”
Deacon began walking back towards the spinning room with Sole’s hand in his, but the door instantly slammed in front of them, barricading them in the hallway.
“Not so fast,” Oswald said, his voice full of menace. “I let H3-56 go out of the goodness of my heart because they were a kindred spirit. As far as I can tell, you humans don’t have to deal with the same hardships as Synths and Ghouls. So I think it’s time we have a little fun.”
Sole inhaled sharply at Oswald’s words. “Listen, we came here to rescue H3-56, not hurt him. We’re sympathetic to Synths and Ghouls alike. One of my best friends, the mayor of Goodneighbor, is a Ghoul.”
“Oh, I see,” Oswald said. “So because you have one Ghoul friend, you’re sympathetic to my kind?” His voice sounded incredulous now.
“I’m not trying to say--.”
“Tell me, Vault Dweller, do you kill Ghouls out in the wasteland with that fancy gun of yours?”
Sole looked down at her holstered gun with a furrowed brow. “Only when they’re feral and I don’t have a choice.”
Deacon could see the regret in her eyes as she spoke. He knew Sole didn’t particularly like killing, even when someone deserved it. It was something she’d held onto from her pre-war days. Maybe because she’d seen the effect it had had on her former husband when he was in the military. Maybe just because she was a compassionate person. But the fact that this stranger was accusing her of being a heartless killer when Deacon knew she was anything but, set his teeth on edge.
“Listen, drama queen, Sole doesn’t need to defend her actions to you. Now either you let us go, or you can step out from behind your wall of protection and we can handle this one on one.”
“I think you’re forgetting about the third option,” Oswald said, his voice now much happier than it had been only a moment before; almost manic. “The one where I show you that anyone is capable of being a monster. Even your sweetheart.”
Deacon didn’t have time to ask what Oswald meant before the hallway filled with green noxious fumes. He let go of Sole’s hand to cover his mouth. At first he worried that it might be aerosol radiation, but the sweet smell of the gas only gave him a headache.
“HalluciGen?” he asked, coughing slightly as the gas continued to fill the room.
Deacon looked over to Sole to make sure she was okay but the look he saw in her eyes terrified him. Her wide green eyes were darting around the room in pure abject horror.
“Sole?” Deacon asked, stepping closer to her. But the second he moved towards her, she lunged at him, her hands finding his throat and squeezing tight. “Sole!” Deacon choked out, trying to wedge his fingers under her surprisingly strong, nimble grip.
“Amazing, isn’t it? What the HalluciGen gas can do to ‘good’ people.”
“Sole,” Deacon choked again, trying desperately to pry her fingers away from his throat.
Her eyes were crazed and watery and she tightened her grip on him. And while he had been reveling in their close contact only a moment before, this wasn’t quite what he’d had in mind.
“Sole, you have to let go,” he choked. “I’m on your side… always have been.”
At the familiar words he’d said to Sole a million times before, her grip loosened ever so slightly. Her brows were still knitted together in confusion and terror, but the moment of clarity was enough for Deacon to forcefully pull her hands away from his throat and pin them to her sides.
Sole almost immediately began fighting back against him again, trying to break free from his grasp. Deacon wrapped his arms around her middle, sure to keep her arms pinned in place as he lifted her off the ground and unceremoniously carried her to the opposite end of the hallway, where a door stood open, leading back out to the lobby.
Once they were away from the green HalluciGen gas, Sole’s fighting grew weaker. She still struggled against Deacon’s grip, but her heart wasn’t in it. Instead he held her tightly while she whimpered, her eyes opening and closing rapidly as she came back to herself.
“You back with me, Charmer?” Deacon asked. “Or are you still going to try to pop my head off with those tiny little hands of yours?”
Sole’s eyes met Deacon’s behind his sunglasses as she blinked a few more times. “Deacon?”
“There she is,” he said, his smile returning. “You must really be into some weird stuff in the bedroom,” Deacon joked.
“Deacon,” she warned, her voice low.
“No, I mean it. I enjoyed our kiss too, but that escalated quickly.” He puckered his lips at her as he smiled.
“It’s not funny,” she said. “I… I couldn’t tell it was you. I couldn’t even tell what I was doing. I just knew I was trapped and needed to get away.”
Deacon’s face fell at her words. Maybe joking wasn’t always the best default. “You’re safe now,” he said.
“Is she, though?” Oswald asked, though now his voice sounded clear; unchanged by the static of a loudspeaker.
Sole and Deacon turned to find the Ghoul standing near the entrance to the funhouse in all his dramatic glory.
His scarred skin glowed green between the cracks, only making his suit and top hot that much more impressive.
“Pleased to meet you both,” the Ghoul said with a deep bow and a grin.
Deacon didn’t know whether he should be furious at the Ghoul or impressed by his showmanship.
“Dude, I appreciate a dramatic entrance as much as the next egotistical narcissist, but you could have really caused some damage in there,” Deacon said. “Also, I totally love your hat and want to know where I can get one as soon as we sort all this out.”
Sole hit Deacon on the arm, but he simply looked over at her and shrugged.
“It’s a killer hat,” he said.
“I feel like my reception of you was more than fair, given that you trespassed in my territory in order to hurt a Synth,” Oswald said, his voice much more impressive in person.
It had a dramatic quality that reminded Deacon of the old Silver Shroud radio show.
“I already told you, we were trying to save the Synth,” Sole said, her voice heavy with annoyance. “We thought he’d been kidnapped.”
Oswald regarded them for a long moment, his green glowing eyes moving between the two. “I don’t suppose…” his words trailed off as he screwed his face up in concentration. “Do you have a geiger counter?”
At his words, Sole’s face lit up. “Mine’s in the shop,” she responded.
The instant those two sentences were spoken, the tension in the room seemed to melt away.
“H3-56 told me to use that phrase if someone came looking for him,” Oswald said. “He told me it would help me know who was a friend and who was an enemy.”
“He was right,” Deacon said. “Although I wish you would have used the phrase before you tried to poison us with your Hallucigen gas.”
“Don’t be so dramatic,” Oswald said. “It wouldn’t poison you. It would just make you two kill each other.”
Oswald waved his hand as if this were an important distinction.
“Why didn’t it make Deacon go crazy?” Sole asked, looking over at the spy in confusion.
“Extensive Railroad training,” Deacon said. And when Sole gave him a look like he was joking around with her again he pressed on. “I’m actually serious this time. After Dez and I found the HalluciGen Inc. lab, we knew this stuff would be dangerous if it got into the wrong hands.” Deacon gave Oswald an accusatory look as he said this.
The Ghoul just shrugged in an unconcerned way.
“Dez had the field agents work to build up an immunity to it,” Deacon went on. “It’s not easy to do, but it’s not impossible.”
Sole gave Deacon a guilty look at his words. “So you were totally lucid while I tried to kill you?”
“Like I said, if that’s the kind of thing you’re into, I’m not going to shame you. I’m an open-minded guy.” He gave Sole a grin that made her cheeks turn a dark shade of red.
He loved that he could make her blush.
“Okay, well this mission has been sufficiently awkward,” Sole said, tucking her hair behind her ear as she looked over at Oswald. “Thank you for… not killing us… I guess.”
“My pleasure,” Oswald said with another deep bow.
“And thanks for the intel on the Synth. I’m happy he was able to get out of the Commonwealth safely.” Sole gave Oswald a tight-lipped smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “Deacon? You ready to go find Danse and MacCready?”
“Sure thing, boss” Deacon said, giving Oswald a nod.
Sole began walking towards the exit of the funhouse, careful to avoid Oswald’s eyes as she walked. When Deacon followed her, he stopped just short of the door and turned to the Ghoul with a grin.
“Okay, but seriously, where did you get that hat?”

Get that bread! I really miss working but I also enjoy not being on my feet all the time lol Can I ask for #10 and #16 with Sokka and a f!reader? A hello/good-bye kiss that is given without thinking - where neither person thinks twice about it. One person pouting, only to have it removed by a kiss from the other person. -🍓

You shivered against the chilly morning air and, still mostly asleep, reached around to find the warm body that usually occupied the bed with you. When your hand found only blankets and pillows you peeked one eye open to discover you were alone. You frowned and sat up, squinting against the early morning sunlight that streamed through the window. With a huff you threw your socked feet over the side of the bed to step into your slippers and wrapped yourself in the warmest fur from your bed before venturing out into the main room of your home. You found Sokka sitting by the hearth in the center of the room, chin in his palm as he considered the scroll in front of him. He looked up when he heard you enter and a soft smile spread across his face when he saw you bundled up and eyes barely open.
“Morning,” he called to you, patting the spot next to him on the mat. You made a sleepy noise of acknowledgement as you shuffled over and plopped down next to him with a yawn. “What’re you doing up so early?”
“‘S cold in bed without you,” you mumbled, snuggling up against his side. He chuckled and wrapped his arm around you, pulling you in tight against him. Though it was still frigid, you already felt warmer in his embrace. You unthinkingly accepted the quick peck he gave you like every other morning. “Why are you awake?”
“Dad asked me to look over these plans for the new village square before the council meeting today.”
You groaned and buried your face into his neck. “I thought you said they could handle it? You promised no work for a few days so we can just lay in bed and eat and do nothing.”
“I know, but I can’t help being the most competent person around here. They need me... desperately. I mean, look at this!” He gestured forcefully at the plans. “Not even Aang’s spirity stuff could hold this building up. And the market placement just doesn’t make any sense.”
“You’re cute when you’re smart.” You pressed a kiss to his jaw and leaned against his shoulder.
“I’m always smart.”
“You’re always cute,” you giggled at the look he shot down at you.
“I think I’ve been a bad influence on you. That almost gave me oogies.”
“Almost?”
He cupped your face in his hands and nudged your nose with his. “Yeah, if you weren’t so darn cute yourself.”
You rolled your eyes and slid your hands over his, smiling. “Ew. Gross, Sokka.”
“I can’t help it, you bring it out of me.”
“Still not as gross as Aang and Katara, though.”
Sokka pulled a face and tossed his head back. “Blegh, don’t make me think about that. I was having such a nice time just looking at your pretty face.”
“Stop it,” you huffed, “you’re making me blush.”
“I know, it’s cute.” His fond, teasing grin only made your cheeks flush warmer.
“Come back to bed,” you sighed, turning your head to kiss his palm. “The village square can wait, surely.”
His regretful expression did not leave you hopeful. “The meeting is today.”
“You have to go?” He nodded and your lips turned down into a frown. “Ugh. No fair, I called dibs on you today.”
His rumbling chuckle filled your chest with a glowing warmth. “Unfortunately, the council doesn’t respect the sovereignty of dibs.”
You clicked your tongue distastefully. “Well, I don’t respect the sovereignty of the council.”
“Just don’t let them hear you say that,” he said before leaning in to give you a sweet kiss to wipe away your pout. You hummed happily against his mouth, shifting your body as close as you could and reaching into his hair to pull it free from the wolf tail he wore. His warm breath tickled across your face when you pulled away just enough to catch your breath.
“What do you have against my wolf tail?” he asked, kissing you quickly again.
“You’re so pretty with your hair down,” you murmured, “‘s not my fault.”
“Can’t argue with that logic,” he laughed. He watched you curiously as you stood again, taking his hands and tugging him up with you. You walked backwards in the direction of your bedroom, sporting a sly smirk when he put up no resistance.
“C’mon, pretty boy. Those blankets and pillows are calling our names.” He simply chuckled and shook his head but still happily followed your lead to collapse back in bed. You pulled one of the fur blankets over the both of you, thrilled to have his warm weight on top of you in bed once again.
“I can’t believe you seduced me back here,” he grumbled against your shoulder as your arms snaked around his waist.
“You know you can’t resist me,” you said, kissing his temple.
“Mhm.” He propped himself up on his elbows to look down at you. “Let’s make a deal. I’ll go to this meeting, get it over with as quick as possible. Then I’ll come home, lock the door, barricade the windows, and we won’t leave this bed for a whole day. How does that sound, princess?”
You hummed thoughtfully, tapping your chin as you considered this. “Make it two days and you’re golden.”
“Even better.” He captured your lips in a bruising kiss, tilting your chin up. You raised one hand into his hair to twirl the loose strands between your fingers. “You might give me a run for my money as far as being the smartest person here.”
“You can keep the title. Wouldn’t want to bruise your ego.” You pulled him back down to your mouth insistently. He indulged you for a few moments, gently brushing his thumb along your cheekbone while his hand pressed against your jaw.
“I really”—he kissed you again—“need to look”—and again—“at those plans.”
“I’m not stopping you.”
“You’re very distracting.”
“That’s my job.”
“Well, I have to go do my job.” He gave you one last lingering kiss before pushing himself back up to stand next to the bed. You groaned unhappily, wrapping yourself tightly in the blankets. He ruffled your hair affectionately and walked back out into the main room. After moping in the warm softness of your bed for a few minutes longer, you resigned yourself to dressing in your coziest furs in that signature blue of the water tribes. The women of the tribe had been kind enough to fashion you a wardrobe that would keep you comfortable in the arctic weather as soon as they heard you’d be coming with Sokka for his most recent return trip to the developing faction.
You followed his path out of the bedroom and went about preparing a pot of tea to hang over the fire. Sokka had become absorbed in marking up the plans with corrections and only briefly glanced up to shoot you a warm smile when you sat next to him with a cup and a book in hand. The two of you sat in a comfortable silence, leaning against one another, both completely content to simply exist in the vicinity of the other.
Eventually, maybe after an hour or so, Sokka set his brush down, stretched, and turned to pull your back against his chest in a squeezing hug around your middle, setting his chin on your shoulder. You didn’t look up from your book but still leaned back into his hold, squirming a little as he peppered kisses on the little skin of your neck and face that your clothes left exposed.
“Meeting’s soon,” he sighed quietly, lips barely brushing your ear as he spoke. “I should get going.”
You tilted your head back to gaze up at him pleadingly. “Promise it’ll be quick?”
“I can’t promise anything”—he pecked your lips—“but I’ll try my best.”
“Mmm, fine.” You turned your attention back to your book. “Go be your impressive and intelligent and nitpicky self.” He puffed up at your praise until you mentioned “nitpicky,” at which point he scoffed and pinched your cheek.
“I have to be nitpicky, they’re putting up buildings.”
“I didn’t say it was a bad thing. I think it’s endearing,” you said absently, turning the page as you read. “Don’t you have somewhere to be?”
“You’re distracting me again.”
“Don’t blame me.” He licked his finger and stuck it in your ear, making you recoil with a shout of disgust. You slapped his chest with your book. “Ugh, Sokka! You are such a child; I rescind my previous praises. Get out.”
He laughed deviously as he stood and made his way to the door where his outerwear hung on the wall. You huffed in irritation and repositioned yourself to get comfortable again, shooting him a glare that he returned with a cheeky grin while he shrugged into his thick parka.
“Aw, c’mon, princess! Don’t be mad at me when I’m about to leave. I could die out there and the last thing you would’ve said to me would be, ‘get out.’”
You rolled your eyes. “If the Fire Nation couldn’t kill your goofy ass I doubt anything will get you during a council meeting.”
“You don’t know that,” he postured as he stepped into his boots. “A rabid polar bear dog could burst into the building and eat us all.”
“Run faster than those geriatrics on the council and you’ll be fine.” You couldn’t help but smile a little bit at his bark of laughter.
“Your lack of concern stings,” he said, pressing his hand to his heart.
“I’m sure it does.” He walked back over to you and lifted you to your feet. His hands slid down your sides and settled on your waist.
“I’m sorry,” he pouted dramatically. “Please forgive me?” You tried your best to look bothered, but he knew you couldn’t resist that groveling look and those wide, clear blue eyes.
“You’re annoying, but I guess you’re forgiven.”
“So merciful, my dearest, darling (Y/N).” He took your hand that wasn’t holding your book and raised it to his lips, kissing your knuckles tenderly. Even though he was teasing, the gesture still flustered you.
“Oh, cut it out.” You swatted at him, hoping he didn’t notice the pink in your cheeks (he did).
“I’ll be back soon—“ he pulled you in closer so you were chest to chest “—don’t miss me too much.”
“No promises,” you said before wrapping your arms around his neck and rising on your toes to kiss him sweetly. “Don’t get eaten by a polar bear dog.”
“No promises,” he echoed with a laugh, slotting his mouth over yours once more. After stalling with kisses for a bit longer, he finally stepped away and opened the door, letting in a blast of freezing air. You wrapped your arms around yourself and shivered.
“Love you,” you called after him.
“Love you, too.” He sent you a wave and a warm smile before stepping out and shutting the door behind him.
With a resolute sigh you opened your book and settled down again, pouring a fresh cup of tea to hold in your icy fingers. The fire didn’t warm you nearly as much as Sokka’s presence did, but it would have to do for now.

The school bell rang. All the kids packed up their things and got into a line to walk out the school to their parents. You were told to always take the back of the line, that way when all the other kids walked out the door to meet their parents, you could break off and run down to the teacher’s cafeteria. You’d stand outside the door and fifteen minutes later your father would arrive, usually with another two teachers in tow. Everyday you’d see him round the corner then drop your bag and sprint your little legs down to him. He’d pick you up in his arms and place a big kiss on your cheek.
“How was your day princess? Did you give Janet a hard time?” he’d ask, to which you’d always shake your head no. He’d smile at you before placing you back on the ground, then you’d run back to your bag and your father would bring you back to his classroom where he taught other kids. He’d correct work for a bit while you did your homework, usually at a desk far too big for you but it was still easier then the kitchen table.
After you had finished your homework your father would let you pull out pencils and paper and draw until either he had finished his corrections or it was time to go. It was 1985 and you were strapped into the backseat of your father’s car with ‘Out Of Touch’ on the radio. You were six years old and living the high life in the back of your daddy’s car on the way to your suburban house where your mom was cooking pasta for dinner after a long-shift at 7/11.
You woke up when the light hit your eyes, stirring you from the peaceful childhood dream of speeding down the country rode while The Bangles sang out. You were lying on a hard bed in what looked like a med-bay made out of an office. Realisationed hit you like a truck that this was the Sanctuary and you shot up, immediately regretting it when everything started to hurt.
“Woah Woah, easy.” A man chided as he jumped to your side, grabbing you by the shoulders to stop you from getting out of the bed. You yelled at him to get off you as you swung at him, sending him backwards. In a moment another two were on you, a man and a woman.
“Tie her before she pulls out her IV!” the woman yelled. The first man stood up and began strapping you in using broad leather straps while the other two put their weight on you.
You struggled as best you could, still exhausted and something heavy on your leg. “Let. me. Out!” you yelled as you pushed against the bonds.
“Get Daryl” one of the women commanded, the second man running out. “Try not to pull that IV out. We can’t patch you up if you do.” she commented, walking around to tend to the man you punched. At this angle you could see the four barred tattoos on her neck. You recognised her, but it seemed she didn’t recognise you. Or at least wasn’t saying anything.
“What are you gonna do to me?” you asked, trying to hide your fear. The man glared at you from where he sat on another hospital bed, his eye turning bruised.
“Nothing.” The woman commented. “Bosses orders” the man scoffed at that, earning a slap to his chest by the woman.
“What? You actually think Daryl is the boss. Negan had him putting dead ones on the fence! He should still be doing that!” the woman punched him in the chest
“Knock it off,” she chided “Unless you wanna get punished”
“He doesn’t do that shit” the man grumbled.
“Do you wanna be the reason he starts doing it?” You couldn’t help but laugh. Maybe it was your nerves at the situation but their banter was completely unexpected. She turned around and looked at your tied down giggling figure. “What’s so funny!?”
“You sound like his mom” you turned your head to look at them as you spoke, a smile on your face.
“She bitches like the old hag too” the man chirped, earning a more playful slap from the woman. This was good, the tension was being lifted if only slightly.
“Sorry for punching you. New surroundings, ya know.” you piped up, hoping to take advantage of the tension drop.
“Yea well, you're not getting out of those belts” the man retorted, nodding towards the binds
“That’s fair” you sigh. Looks like you’ll need a new plan. Maybe some info, but you’d have to give a little to get a little “So are you gonna kill me? Like your friends tried to”
“What you mean?” The man asked
“Couple of people broke into my safe house, said they were saviours and they were gonna kill me to save their friends.” you stared at the ceiling, trying to feign complete helplessness. “Are you with them?”
“No, but-” the woman shushed him again, but that did nothing to deter the man. “We used to be, then a war happened and our boss got locked up and they put an outsider in to look over us”
‘Locked up?’ you thought ‘so he’s not dead.’ you bit your tongue to contain your happiness. “I can’t say I’m sorry” you said after a beat, “So...I’m gonna live?” you looked at them with intentionally wide eyes. The woman looked pissed, but she nodded. You breathed a sigh of relief and closed your eyes. A beat or two later the man returned with Daryl and a grey-hair woman in tow.
“Get those off her!” Daryl ordered.
“It’s okay” you interjected. “I punched your friend there. Kinda earned this”
“Nah” the first man perked up “If I had been jumped then woke up in a strange place I’d have acted out too,” he moved over and started opening the belts, Daryl working on the others. You slowly pulled yourself up, Daryl jumping to your side to help you into a sitting position.
“You alright?” Daryl asked. You looked over now realising your palms were bandaged and your leg was in a splint. You reached up to your aching head and felt a bandage with your fingers.
“I’ve been better” you spoke low, still in a great deal of pain.
“What happened?” the grey haired woman asked. You spun a story of a bunch of people claiming to be saviours who entered your apartment with the plan of ambushing and killing Daryl, how you burned down the apartment and jumped out the window for your escape. The grey haired woman listened to you with growing worry on her face. “Did you kill them all?” she pushed
“I don’t know.” you admitted
“What do you mean you dont know!” she snapped
“Carol-” Daryl started
“No, if there’s people out there claiming to be saviours and hurting people then we’re gonna look bad in front of the other settlements.” Carol snapped back.
“She’s right,” the messenger added. “We’ll have to do something.”
“These were our brothers” the punched man spoke out “We can’t just kill them.”
“They didn’t give us a choice” Daryl snapped. “Y/N barely got out alive and she’s been living out there for months. What if they get someone who can’t hold their own!” he went to storm out but you reached out of the bed and grabbed his arm, yelling out in pain at the strain.
“Don’t” you warned, after Daryl and the woman helped you back into the bed. “If they’re still there then they’re barricaded and have significant advantage.”
“Well what do you purpose we do?” Carol asked. Your breath was getting heavy.
“Anybody got a map of DC? And maybe a pencil”
The original messenger boy got you a map and a pen. You marked out where your apartment had been, as well as some buildings that had fallen apart with age. “They said they were watching me, which means they could be in any of these” you marked around the stable buildings that could make for a hide, which was surprisingly few. “This is my hideout in city centre” you said marking the building
“You never mentioned another safe house.” Daryl spoke up, you smirked
“A girl needs her secrets.” you handed the pen to Daryl “What route did you take to my place?” he lined in his route.
“What if they’re farther?” Carol asked.
“They’re not.” you spoke firmly “They were watching me for long enough they knew when Daryl wouldn’t be around which means they made their place comfortable, and I bet a couple of them got injured in the fire, meaning they’re gonna have to lay low and patch themselves up,” You explained. Your body finally gave way and you fell back on the pillows. The woman jumped to your help, telling the others to go. She made you comfortable in the bed, you drifting off to sleep again not long after.
“How’d you know they’re there?” she asked later that evening when you were awake, eating some acorn mush, “How are you sure?”
You could sense she was worried. “I was in the military before all this” you answered. “Our job was to sneak into enemy territory to help our fellow soldiers or civilians. We used to make maps like that, using where our friends got attacked as a central point to where the enemy could be hiding” she nodded as you explained, though still visibly nervous. “They’ll be fine” you tried to reassure her. “If they’re not nearby, they’ll have to get through hordes of walkers before they’ll be somewhere safe. You’re friends will get them”
She seemed to be reassured, If only a little. “You know I’m meant to be looking after you,” she breathed out, a tear sneaking over her cheek. She wiped it away before it could fall. “I’m Laura, by the way”
“I’m Y/N”
The following morning they all returned, with the exception of Daryl. “You were right” Laura informed you. The ‘saviours’ were held up barely a block away and now they were dead.
“Where’s Daryl?” You asked when Carol visited you.
“He took off for Alexandria” Carol replied. “I’m in charge now.”
“Oh” you spoke, clearly disappointed. Carol ordered Laura to leave, putting you on high alert. She pulled up a chair and looked you in the eyes with a dead stare.
“What is your relationship with Daryl?” she asked bluntly. You cocked an eyebrow at her.
“I’m gonna need you to elaborate so I can give you an answer you’d be happy with, Carol.” you replied helpless from the bed. She knew you couldn’t run, yet she was putting on this show of bravado? She seemed to accept your request though.
“Up until three days ago we didn’t know Daryl had a secret lady hiding in the city. We want to make sure Daryl isn’t keeping secrets that can hurt us.” she spoke a little more relaxed now, but still direct. She reminded you of your mother in a way, whenever she noticed a cookie was missing, or later in life, her vodka had been replaced with water.
“So Rick, Carl, or Tara hadn’t mentioned me either?” those names spurred on some recognition. “Guess not” you sighed, thinking on how to break to this woman you had tried to kill two of her friends. You came to the conclusion that you shouldn’t. “I traded with Carl and Rick for some medical supplies. Few months later Tara, Rick, and Daryl stumbled into my area needing help so I did. Daryl’s been trading with me since.”
“What kind of trade?” she pushed.
“Food,” you answered. “He’s been feeding me, in return I’ve been getting him stuff. Blankets, bandages, jeans, kid’s shit like bottles, and toys-”
“And raincoats with little butterflies on it?” Carol interrupted you. You nodded and whispered a ‘yeah’ under your breath. “I have a niece called Judith. She’s trying to name all the butterflies.” she spoke lovingly of the child and you couldn’t help but smile at the thought of a small girl pointing at water-proof butterflies giving them cute names. She probably gave them different names every time she listed them.
The smile faded as you remembered the world isn’t that simple anymore. “So what now?” you asked.
“You’ll stay here” Carol ordered. “You’ll do your part, whatever way you can.”
You nodded in agreement “I know this might be a big ask considering we just met but,” you began, taking a big breath to try and stave off the tiredness, “Could I help here? In the hospital. I was a combat medic before this so it’s probably the best way I can help.”
And it could be a great way to weed out who knows who you are and threaten them into keeping their mouth shut, or even shutting it for them.
Your request was granted, under the watchful eye of Laura, and so began your new life at The Sanctuary.

it was a quiet friday night which was weird for a group of highschoolers. nothing was really going on, in terms of parties and high school games which was rare but it finally felt nice to not feel hungover for a whole weekend.
y/n and wooyoung were chilling on her bed after their friends had left her house. wooyoung lived a couple doors down from y/n's house and didn't feel like leaving just yet.
ever since y/n moved into the neighborhood in third grade, the two had become inseparable. the duo would tell each other everything from stupid crushes to ranting about how their favorite arcade game was rigged. and tonight was another one of those nights were the two could talk until the sun rose.
tonight's topic was about their futures and what they wanted to do since they were now seniors and adulthood was coming closer everyday.
"woo?" y/n asked, fiddling with one of her plushies.
"yes, y/n." wooyoung perked up his head from his phone.
"what are your plans after college?"
wooyoung paused for a moment, forming his answer carefully. "i don't think i'm going to college after high school."
"huh? what are you going to do then?" y/n asked, surprised her best friend wasn't going to some sort of culinary school since he would not stop cooking.
"i know it's kind of dumb but i wanna be an idol." wooyung confessed sheepishly.
"it's not dumb, woo." you argued back. "i mean you are one of hell of a dancer and you can sing. just send it."
his cheeks flushed a little bit at her comments. "are you sure? what if-"
"jung wooyoung. look at me." y/n said as she grabbed his wrists.
the boy looked up at her with doubt and worry washed over his face.
"you got amazing vocals that i'm pretty sure angels are jealous of you and you can literally beat anyone in a dance battle. including me, which is saying a lot." y/n joked as she flipped her hair.
it was true though. y/n was a killer dance and when her and wooyoung danced together, circles would form around them at parties.
"if you want to become an idol. become an idol. i want to brag to everyone that i'm bestfriends with the jung wooyoung."
wooyoung rolled his eyes at her and pulled his hands to hips. "wow, you really just want me for the clout huh?"
"no!" y/n answered and lightly punched him in the shoulder. "but seriously, i'll support you no matter what. hell i'll watch one of your practices if they even allow that."
"i don't think they would allow that y/n."
"whatever, just send me videos of you dancing at least." y/n huffed and crossed her arms.
"of course. i promise to send you weekly videos."
"good, i'll be waiting for those." she smiled at him.
"y/n, what are you going to do afterwards?" wooyoung asked, leaning back on his hands.
"i want to join the navy." her eyes glowed as she talked. "i want to help protect our country and working overseas seems so much fun."
wooyoung watched in amusement as his best friend begin to drabble on about her plans after high school. "how are am i supposed to send you my weekly dance videos then?"
"through a flash drive duh. unless they allow sailors access to computers but i doubt it. just write to me and send a flash drive over."
"you really want me to spend money on flash drives?" wooyoung sarcastically asked.
"yes if you're gonna become an idol, i am going to have to pay for a ticket to your concert aren't I?"
"i mean, i guess. but i can probably get you free ones."
"nah, there's no fun in that." y/n said as she waved her hand, shooing away that idea. "i want to fight over people for barricade tickets."
wooyung laughed at her dumb dream. "okay, do whatever you want y/n."
*
two months later, y/n was helping out wooyung practice for his audition for bighit. the poor kid could not stop stressing out about his audition that was in a few days.
wooyoung had been non stop preparing ever since he found out the audition date. after school, he did his homework right away and then went straight to practicing his vocals and dancing.
on the weekends and when y/n had light homework loads during the week she would help out as much as she can.
today, wooyoung had probably been dancing for almost two hours in his backyard. he was constantly tweaking and perfecting dances that y/n was sure that his hair was going to turn gray before the audition even came.
"woo." y/n walked over to the speaker and paused the song. "you need to take a break dude. you've been at it for two hours now."
wooyoung inhaled deeply, he was trying his best not to snap at her for just trying to help him out. "give me five more minutes please. i know i can get it down. i just need a little more time."
"wooyung, give your body a break. it wouldn't hurt to take a five minute break." y/n said, her voice a little more sterner.
"y/n just please!" wooyung shouted, instantly regretting raising his voice at her. "just please give me a little longer and i promise, i'll stop."
"fine. i'll be inside." y/n sighed.
she couldn't get mad at him even though it was so tempting to just snap back at him and whack him in the face. but she understood the pressure and stress he was feeling at the moment.
instead, she took out her anger on the watermelon in front of her. cutting the watery fruit, a little more harshly than normal.
after she was done, wooyung had walked back into the house, dripping in sweat.
"finally, you're done. you know, you have to take more care of yourself once you start training." she scolded at him.
"that's if, i get in." wooyoung corrected her, wiping away his sweat with a towel.
"keep thinking negatively and i'll stab you." y/n threatened, half jokingly and half not. it certainly didn't help that her tone came out more serious since she was annoyed at him.
"alright, alright. i'll stop." wooyung put his hands in the air as soon as he saw y/n point the sharp knife at him.
"good. now eat and then we can work on your vocals." y/n pushed a plate full of watermelon and strawberries towards him.
"thank you." wooyung said as he reached for a strawberry.
"for what?" she asked as she washed her hands before snagging a slice of watermelon.
"for helping me with everything." wooyung looked at his best friend wondering how he would survive without her.
y/n looked up and met his gaze and she couldn't help but blush. "it's alright. i wanna see you perform when i get back from the navy."
"speaking of the navy, did you apply yet?" he asked in between chews.
"uhh, not yet. i've been busy." the h/c girl answered sheepishly as she picked up another piece of fruit to distract herself.
wooyung groaned, "it's because you're helping me isn't it?"
he felt even more worse since he snapped at her.
"no, no. it's not that. my parents are trying to talk to me out of it."
the boy looked skeptically at her. "are you sure? i don't want to get in the way of your dreams."
y/n scoffed at him. "are you dumb? you're going to be with me throughout this whole process, whether you like it or not."
wooyung smiled at her brightly. "yes, i will and i will be buying flash drives just for you. so you can watch my dance videos."
"that's right baby. catch me in the front row of all your concerts." y/n dramatically declared.
"with the tickets you'll refuse from me."
"just let me fight your future fans over them please."
"fine, it'll make up for the cost of the flash drives."
"fair enough." she laughed.
*
two weeks later, y/n's letter from the navy arrived in her mailbox after dinner.
once she had saw the mail truck come by she immediately ran to the mailbox with her slippers barely on her feet.
her hands were shaking as she fumbled with the keys and struggled to open it. y/n skimmed over the pile of letters in her arms until she found the one thing she was looking for. she shoved the rest of the letters back inside the mailbox so she could retrieve them later.
with trembling fingers and her heart beating so fast, y/n ripped the envelope opened. she could feel herself start to shake once she read the big fat congratulations on the paper.
y/n screamed out of pure happiness and rushed to wooyoung's house, completely forgetting about the rest of the letters in her family's mailbox.
she knocked on the door so harshly, anyone would of thought that she was the FBI about to barge into their home.
"wooyoung!" y/n exclaimed.
"y/n, what is it?" he asked, confused at her super excited state and then it hit him, "is it the navy?"
she hummed in response, "i got in, i'm leaving on saturday!"
"oh my god, y/n." wooyoung congratulated her before enveloping her in a warm hug. "i'm so happy for you."
"thank you, woo." y/n pulled back, her smile never leaving her face. "how about you did you get in?"
"about that..." he trailed off looking to the side.
y/n's face fell and before she could even say anything, wooyoung interrupted.
"just kidding. i got in." wooyoung's face returned back to his happy self, a cheeky grin spread across his face.
"you fucker." y/n cursed as she slapped him on the arm. "i was going to cry for you. "
"owwww." he whimpered, rubbing his arm.
the girl pulled him into a hug which wooyoung slowly returned.
"look woo, we're achieving our dreams together." y/n smiled into his chest.
wooyoung hugged her even tighter. "i love you."
the two never had outwardly said that phrase, even in a friendly way. which is why it caught y/n off guard by a mile.
it was a definite no brainer that she loved him. at first it was in a best friend way but over time and the many idol practices, y/n always left his house wondering about her feelings for him. it was so cliche of her to fall for her childhood best friend but she couldn't help it.
wooyoung was there for her for everything, ever since she moved here. and of course, y/n was always there for him. feelings were bound to be caught, one way or the other. it was just matter of who would fall first.
"i mean uh," wooyoung pulled away quickly, his cheeks flushed a bright red.
y/n's adrenaline was skyrocketing, "fuck it."
she grabbed her best friend by his shirt and pulled him into a kiss.
wooyoung froze against her lips before kissing back. he didn't really know what was happening but he loved every second of it.
when the two of them pulled back for air, y/n was grinning. "i love you too, woo."
the trainee couldn't help but smile even brighter. but y'n's face fell at the thought of the future. she was leaving for the navy in a couple of days and wouldn't return for months. and wooyoung was starting his training soon. it was an absolutely, terrible idea to start a relationship considering the timing, but she would do it all for him.
he noticed her expression and reached for her cheek, caressing it. "i'll wait for you, y/n."
"really? i won't back for almost two years. i don't want you to-"
"y/n, i would wait an eternity if it i meant i could be with you." he reassured, staring deep into her eyes.
whatever worries y/n had were disappearing. it felt comforting to hear the one person who she loved and cared about, would be waiting for her when she came back.
wooyoung pulled her in for another comforting hug, "i will always love you, no matter how far away you are."
a tear slipped down y/n's cheek as she hugged him even tighter. falling in love with your best friend had never felt so bittersweet.
*
since then, wooyoung and y/n spent as much time as they could together before she left for the navy.
but now, the day they both dreaded had arrived.
y/n's suitcase was packed into her family's car as she said her goodbyes to her siblings and grandparents.
"you look so beautiful." y/n's grandpa cried, as he lifted his hand to touch her cheek.
the sailor was wearing her uniform with her long hair was slicked back into a bun.
"thank you, grandpa." y/n smiled as she pulled away to say goodbye to her other friends.
and of course, wooyoung's family was there. she saved her goodbyes for them last.
y/n went down the line of his family, hugging them and saying thank you for coming to see her go off.
when she reached wooyoung, the breath in her throat hitched as tears threatened to spill out. y/n promised to herself that she wouldn't cry before she left but for wooyoung and her parents, they were the exception.
wooyoung hugged her so tightly which y/n didn't mind at all. if she could, she would spend the rest of her life in his arms.
"i love you, woo." she mumbled into his chest.
"i love you too, y/n. good luck out there."
y/n pulled away reluctantly, "you too. i will be waiting for your first concert."
wooyoung smiled at her sadly and tugged at her wrist. y/n looked back at him with a confused expression before he pulled her into a passionate kiss. he didn't really care that his parents were there at the moment, he just needed to remember what her lips felt like before he forgot.
"i'll always be there with you." wooyoung whispered, as he pressed something into her hand.
y/n looked down at her hand to see a red rose hanging on a gold chain, "thank you, woo."
he nodded his head as he let you go.
he watched with teary eyes as you drove away but something in him sparked. another drive for him to work hard and achieve his dream.
*
dear wooyoung,
i miss you so much, it's beginning to drive me insane. but, i want to let you know that everything here is going smoothly despite these rocky ass waves. i've adjusted to almost everything around here except for waking up incredibly early. i've made new friends and have become really close with my roomate which is a relief because i don't know if i could deal with a shitty ass roomate. anyways, how's life back at home and how's training at bighit? have you seen taehyung yet? haha. i'm kidding. or not. but besides the point, tell me how life as a trainee. oh and before i forget, i figured out a way to watch your dance practice videos so please send them. i'll pay you back through buying barricade tickets alright? also, tell your parents i say hi please!
with much love,
y/n :)
p.s. i love you
*
dear y/n,
i miss you a lot too. even my parents do haha and they say hello back and hope you're doing well. i'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the navy life but i'm surprised that you're able to wake up so early haha. but don't worry, everything back home is great, just a little chaotic sometimes. trainee life is definitely tiring and hard but it's probably not much compared to what you have to do. i don't wanna know about the million, spirit-breaking things you do but if it makes you happy, i did see taehyung. even though it was for like two seconds because we were just passing in the halls. i hope one day i can see them practice live. maybe i'll see jimin. but anyways, i've made some friends too. we're gonna audition for a survival show called mixnine together. i'm really excited. i think you would like them. they're really funny but not as funny as me though. ok, i got to go now before my mom yells at me for staying up so late. so, i'll see you in my dreams. goodbye!
love,
wooyoung ;0
p.s. enjoy the dance cover i did with yeosang (someone who i met at bighit)
p.s.s. i hope the flash drive gets to you safely, i don't trust the postal services
*
two years later...
dear woo,
i have managed to secure tickets to your first concert in seoul thorough my parents. and yes, my parents had to do some fighting with some of your fans to help me secure a barricade ticket. i am utterly disappointed that i didn't get to do the fighting myself but i guess i'll just have to wait for your next tour. :( but on a more positive note i'm coming home soon! i'm so excited. the first thing we are doing though is getting some good dessert. i'm tired of eating the wack ass "desserts" here. oh! maybe we can go to a garden or something i don't know but i'm tired of looking at the water. some nice, pretty flowers will be much better to look at. speaking of flowers, i still have your rose necklace that you gave me. i wear it all the time except for when we do swimming exercises. i don't trust myself enough to bring it in the water. anyways before i have to go, i want to say how proud i am of you for coming so far in the idol industry. it seems like forever ago that i was helping you out for audition for bighit. i get to brag to people now that i'm dating a kpop idol hehe. say hi to the boys for me! and please send another video of you guys dancing so, me and my roomie can copy it. when i come home we can perform your songs together. oh my god that would be so much fun. ok, ok i really gotta go now but i love you and please take care of yourself! (or ask san too, either one works)
with much love,
y/n!
p.s. i'll be sitting a little bit to the right of the stage.
*
dear y/n,
i'm sad to hear that you couldn't fight my fans for barricade tickets but i am thankful that you are coming to our first show. i'll be on the lookout for you in the audience. and afterwards, find my parents and they'll take you backstage so i can see you again. did i tell you that our lightsticks came in and they're actually so cool. i'll see if i can snag you one and don't even think about having to pay back okay?  you can pay me back by spending as much time as you can with me when you're back home. anyways, i wanna thank you for supporting me ever since i brought up the idea of becoming an idol. you were probably the only person who didn't laugh straight in my face for thinking such childish things but look at where we are now. i get to perform my first show with you in the barricade. and look at you, i got a badass girlfriend in the navy who can probably kick anyone's ass. and she can dance like??? i think win when it comes to having the coolest girlfriend ever. and you bet the first thing we're gonna do together is dance. i'm debating about teaching you the pirate king choreo or the say my name one. i don't know you can pick. also, yeosang, san, hongjoong, seonghwa, mingi, and jongho all say hello back and are very excited to finally meet you. i gotta go now, i have to wake up early for some costume fittings but i'll send some pics over too. i love you!
love,
wooyoung :)
*
it was the day of ateez's first concert and wooyoung didn't even know if y/n was back from the navy yet because they could never really say when they're coming home for obvious reasons. but wooyoung couldn't help but pace around the dressing room.
it was definitely not the perfect timing since he was currently freaking out about twenty million things all at once. it was their first ever concert and everything could terribly wrong in wooyoung's mind. like what if y/n thinks that he performed terribly tonight or even worse what if she leaves in the middle of the concert because they were so bad. but he didn't even know if she was back in south korea since she hadn't called him or anything. not even her parents had called him. maybe they wanted to surprise him? no. that's dumb she already bought tickets so-
"wooyoung." his leader called out to him. ever since they had arrived at the venue, wooyoung had been non stop spacing out and mumbling things to himself. everyone in the group was of course nervous, but none of them were this anxious.
"huh?" the young idol snapped his head to hongjoong. "i mean yes."
"are you seriously okay? you haven't been able to stop mumbling to yourself since we got out of the car." he asked full of concern.
"yes, it's just that y/n is supposed to come and-" wooyoung rambled, fiddling with the collar of his shirt.
hongjoong put his hands on both of his shoulders, "woo, i am going to need you to calm down first. y/n is probably back home safe and is probably getting ready right now with her friends to come see us."
wooyoung slowly nodded to himself to convince himself that everything was okay.
"take a deep breath, ok?" hongjoong instructed, breathing along with him. "relax, she's going to come and she's gonna see how much you've improved since the last time she saw you."
his leader was right. wooyoung had improved in so many ways, from his singing to his confidence in performing. he should be excited to show off how much he improved to her.
"you're right." the young idol nodded his head. his worries about y/n were slowly being lifted away.
hongjoong smiled at him before patting his back.
*
during the concert everything was going smoothly. there was no costume slip ups or them forgetting their lines it was going great. but wooyoung couldn't find y/n amongst the many faces in the crowd. it was worrying him but he decided to not let any negative thoughts cloud his mind mid performance.
until, they were about to perform their last song and his parents ran to their dressing room. tears were streaming down his mother's face.
"what's going on? are you okay mom?" wooyoung asked immediately, he wrapped his mom in a hug.
"it's y/n." his dad started in soft voice.
"what? what happened? is she okay?" he asked, his head snapping to his dad. it was a miracle how he didn't break his neck.
"honey, she couldn't make it. there was an accident and something happened to the ship." his mom cried.
"what do you mean she didn't make it?" wooyoung couldn't believe a word they were saying. there was no way in hell she died. she was too young. wooyoung didn't even get a chance to say i love you again in person.
"her ship went down and there was only a few survivors and-"
"no. you're lying." the shocked idol shouted as he backed away from his parents only to be caught in san's chest.
"sweetheart, they couldn't find her." his mom revealed as she wiped a tear away from her face. "she was supposed to arrive yesterday."
wooyoung didn't say anything but fall to the floor. every ounce of happiness he had was gone. he couldn't believe it. there was no way.
"you guys are going back up now." their manager shouted to them.
"we wanted to tell you later but-"
"that's enough, honey." his dad shushed. he didn't want to make things worse than they already were.
"woo, come on." san said as he helped him up.
he didn't say anything but followed his members out of the dressing room.
wooyoung didn't know how he was supposed to continue singing when he just found out that love of his life died.
"sing for her, alright?" san comforted right before they walked back on stage.
they were performing star 1117. the last song of the night. which was good for wooyoung cause he just wanted this night to be over already.
once mingi started singing, wooyoung lost it. as well as his fellow members but they weren't crying for the same reasons he was.
they were crying because after all the neverending practices and the amount of frustrating times sitting in the sound booth trying to get the perfect sound was all worth it. they were finally doing what they love in front of people who genuinely enjoyed their music and were excited for what's to come from them.
he should be crying for the same reasons they were or maybe he was a little bit. he couldn't tell what he was feeling anymore. he just felt empty.
san watched his friend break down and went over to him for support. he was never much of crier but this performance was close to breaking his wall.
in the eyes of a fan, it looked like san was merely comforting a crying wooyoung. but what they didn't know was why he was crying.
finally the song had ended and almost everyone was crying or at least on the verge of tears. the boys stood in line at the very front of the stage with bittersweet looks as they bowed down to the crowd.
they all waved goodbye with smiling faces and wet eyes.
someone had tossed roses onto the stage which wooyoung of course picked up before heading backstage.
he couldn't even make it to their dressing room before crying again. san had wrapped an arm around his shoulder to keep him balanced as he guided them back to the safety of their dressing room.
wooyoung had sunk into of the couches there and just let everything out. this wasn't how he was supposed to be feeling. he was supposed to be happy and thankful that their first concert was a huge success. he should be happily celebrating with his friends and with y/n but not anymore.
all the members had took turns in comforting him. they never got the chance to meet y/n but they did see lots of photos of her and heard many stories from wooyoung. she sounded like an amazing person to be around and they were heartbroken that they would never get to meet her.
*
all the fans had left the venue by now and wooyoung was sitting on the edge of the stage. his feet was dangling off the edge while he twirled the rose in his hands. he was done crying for now and spoke softly to himself.
"i wish you were here y/n. the concert was a huge success. i'm really thankful that you helped me practiced for my bighit audition. i think i owe you a lot for that. i don't know if i would've stuck with my dream if it wasn't for you." he mumbled. "i miss you like crazy, it's not even funny. but i know you're watching me from up there and you're probably telling me to stop crying" wooyoung chuckled to himself. "but i don't think i'll stop for awhile. i love you, y/n and i'll never stop loving you."
"wooyoung." yeosang called for him. "we're leaving now."
the heartbroken idol smiled softly at his friend before getting up. he kissed the rose and he could've sworn he felt y/n's soft lips on it. maybe he was just dreaming or maybe it was the exhaustion catching up to him. wooyoung crouched down and left the rose a little to the right of the stage.
"for you, my little dreamer."
*
ever since that night, wooyoung had left a little rose sticker on the right side of the stage at every single venue he performed at.
it was his way of remembering y/n. it was so that she could be with him at every concert or award show.
wooyoung was even gifted a similar rose necklace from his group. he couldn't stop crying that night and thanked them repeatedly.
every night before he went to bed he would touch the rose and whisper "i love you, y/n."
sometimes he would dream about her and wake up crying. thankful, he got to see her again in his dreams. because that's what they were.
dreamers.

Tumblr media
The new horde overpowered the school gates and was plowing through panicking students.
When the zombie apocalypse hits, there are different types of people, people that would do different things in this new chaotic world.
Some people would run and hide, people who would put themselves first, heroics who saved others, and others who grab a weapon and go to town.
Atsumu was the latter. He was running down the stairs with his brother and the other members of the volleyball team, trying to look for the remaining ones, not in their group. The blonde-haired boy spots a fire axe by the emergency exit where all the other students were going down. he smirks and takes the bright red weapon in his hand. He was ready to fight.
He finds you fighting off your newly turned classmates with a plank of wood you brought earlier for a project. It was proving very useful to you at the moment as you beat down one of the turned bullies of your class. After finishing it off with one final blow to the head, you looked at the chaotic world around you to see Atsumu and the gang suited up to fight. You smiled, running into his arms.
You were all together.
The way down was getting more and more infested with the undead. You swung your plank of wood back and forth while the others fought back with their weapons.
It was the final stretch. Only a few more classrooms to pass through then you’re free to run out and into the gym for safety and plan out your next moves as a team. Just a little bit more.
Just a little-
Suddenly, 5 zombies jump out of one of the classrooms and pins both you and Osamu down. You heard metal skid away as Osamu struggled to keep the zombie’s mouth from biting him. Your wood plank was pinned behind you, no way to use that. The zombies were getting more and more persistent as you kicked and screamed.
Atsumu looked back to see his beloved brother and girlfriend caught in the same circumstances, trapped under the weight of the zombies. he froze in his tracks as he tried to think of what to do. He tried to call for help from Kita but they were fighting another horde by the entrance. He looked back at your dire states, gripping onto the bright red axe, its handle covered splattered with blood.
You looked over to atsumu to see him shaking, tears in his eyes as looked back and forth from the both of you, trying to decide who to save before the hordes from the other floors come down. You closed your eyes tightly, forcing a smile on your face, “atsumu! ‘tsumu baby!” you called out, your voice cracked, tears flowing down your cheeks as you tried to keep the smile on your face.
“save your brother, you idiot! He’s gonna get tired pretty soon!” you said, keeping that cheeky smile on your face, but that smile isn’t reaching up to your eyes. Your fake happiness faltering in your voice.
Atsumu was just about to talk back, he was about to tell you that he was gonna save the both of you but that doesn’t happen. He saw the start of the horde gathering up at the intersection of the hallways. He closed his eyes, letting his tears fall as he hacked off the zombies on his brother.
He helped osamu up to his feet. By the time he looked back, the horde noticed the three of you there and was running towards you.
“RUN! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!” was the last words he heard from you. He feels Osamu grab his arm and pull him away. Osamu pulled him away before he could see your body getting trampled over by the horde, a good chunk of it knelt to get a chunk out of you.
They reached the gym intact, the doors were barricaded, free of zombies. They could finally rest.
But how could Atsumu rest when it felt like the undead got him too?
When he knows the undead took you away from him.

Jersey on my mind (part 30)
“It’s gonna be a great day.”
Daryl turns his head from the robin, sitting on the ridge of a roof, further away and that he’s been fixing his gaze on for the past half an hour and observes Rick. His friend lets down his shoulders and relaxes his spine, takes a deep breath and lets himself take in the silent calmness of the morning surrounding them. He’s right. It’s gonna be a beautiful day.
The breeze hasn’t even bothered to wake up today. It’s the two of them, the robin, who sings his morning song, to announce that a new day has begun, and the walkers.
“Yeah.”
“Gotta continue working on the wall.” Rick proclaims, as if to create a to-do list in his head of today’s chores. “Check blueprints, find materials. Gotta go on a run.”
“Great.” Daryl replies and nods at Rick. He’ll get to go, he knows it, and he doesn’t mind. As if he were a tame fox, who no matter how domestic it may seem, constantly needs a certain degree of freedom and nature. But he doesn’t mind returning back here either. Not anymore. “I’ll go.” He continues. “Just tell me whatcha’ need.”
“Yep.” Rick takes another deep breath. “What a day.”
His sudden discovery of nature, the surroundings and an overbearing serenity hasn’t sprung from nothing. He watched by Carl’s side for days. Didn’t sleep, didn’t eat properly, not until Carl sat up in bed and ate himself. The eye was completely destroyed and had to be removed. Thanks to Denise, Rosita, Tara and Mila, who, thanks to her previous profession as a dental nurse, knew how to sterilize scalpels and tools, as well as use sedatives and anesthetics. Thanks to their care, Carl got better, as did Rick.
“What time is it?” Rick says. “Seven, or eight?”
“Prolly.” Daryl looks at the sun. He watched it rise, heard the birds wake up. Rick joined him shortly after. “Early.”
“Ya’ wanna go back to the house?” Rick asks. “Get some rest?”
“Nah.”
Rick fixates him with his gaze, very ‘nice cop’-like, yet friendly and somewhat cheeky.
“When I first met Lori-” Rick says, then smiles faintly, chuckles. “Boy, I was- Couldn’t eat properly. Couldn’t sleep. Like I went around in a haze and just thought ‘bout her.”
Daryl nods a little, smiles very faintly, but inside of his chest, his heart takes a skip.
Has it been two days, forty-eight hours ago he went downstairs holding hands with Jersey when everyone was eating breakfast at the big table?
After their escapade in the shower, resulting in soaking clothes that had to sundry at the porch roof, they stayed in the bedroom for the entire day. Juri wasn’t in bed when they came out from the bathroom, holding their soaking wet clothes. The smell of breakfast toasts was enough for Mila to understand that Juri was downstairs. Daryl left late in the afternoon, to join a group that has started to create a temporary barricade at the broken wall. Carol brought a late dinner to the working group.
“How strange, I think I saw these particular clothes sunbathing on the porch roof earlier.” She said cheekily and bumped his hip, while he took a bite of a sandwich.
“Shut up.” Daryl scoffed softly.
“Pookie.” Carol grinned and shook her head.
He returned late and when he entered the bedroom again, both Mila and Juri were asleep, spooning each other on the bed surrounded by books, soft toys and cassette tapes. He sat down in the comfortable chair, didn’t feel like waking ‘em up by laying down next to them, where he fell asleep.
Their presence downstairs the morning after that was a silent, visual proclamation that yeah, it was the two of ‘em now’. Or the three of them, including the kid wedged at Mila’s hip in his pajamas, barely awake, but determined to not skip breakfast. Daryl’s heart pounded harder than ever in his chest as they settled on the ground floor, next to each other in front of the entire Atlanta group at the table. Harder than when he stood in the yard as a child and saw the house, his home, burn down to the ground with his mother in it. But it was different. As if his chest was flooded with a warm, deep sense of pride, a sense of belonging. The group hadn’t, thankfully, made a big scene of the silent announcement, which was as big of a deal to him as if he’d announced he’d become the president of the whole damn united states of whatever. It was clear to him, when they sat down at the table, set with pancakes and toast, that the others had already put two and two together. Was it Carol who blabbed, or was it by any chance Rick? Anyway they took it without any fuss. Thankfully. He’d never pull through such a questioning.
But Rick’s right, to some extent. He’s been in a constant haze for awhile now. He can’t put his finger on when the haze was inevitable, must’ve been during their walk to the gas station, but might just as well be earlier. She had a special impact on him from the start. Those blue, piercing eyes looking at him over the barrel of the gun after they’d saved him and Aaron. He can’t get enough of ‘em.
“Guess ya’ right.” He therefore says. Why would he lie? Apparently they’re the talk of the town now anyway. Jeez. As if the townies don’t have else to talk about?
“That hurricane of- I dunno, feelings. They’re good. Validation that everything’s just- perfect.” Rick says and by doing so, puts his finger on something Daryl have felt some kind of guilt for, not always, fuck no.
But it’s a feeling he struggles with from time to time, if just for a second or a minute. He’s not good for her, or more correctly; not good enough. But that feeling’s swept away as soon as he notices her looking at him. The blue eyes smiling at him, as a lagoon of homeliness and deep affection.
“Never done this before.” Daryl says husky.
“No one has.” Rick replies while looking at the robin. “There’s a first for everyone. Ya’ just- gets a hang of your own mind. The rest goes by itself.” He makes a movement, and gets up from the boards. “I’ll go get some water.” He announces.
Rick climbs down the ladder and Daryl looks after him as he strides over to the store. He smiles faintly to himself, lets his experienced gaze wander slow and steady over the closest surroundings at the other side of the makeshift wall. A few walkers have miraculously managed to remain on the site since they made a raid and eliminated most, after the great battle. One of them seems to have ended up in a loop; over and over again it crashes into the hood of an abandoned pickup, whose tires have almost grown stuck in the asphalt, which has been taken over, slow and steady, by mother nature.
A soft tapping on wood gets his attention. He turns his head, and happens to see something at the lower end of the ladder.
“Mornin’.” He greets Juri, who’s small, soft hands squeezes the second step of the hard, wooden ladder. “Wanna come up, kiddo?”
Without hesitating, Juri climbs the tall ladder, with the walkman in his pocket and the headphones around his neck. The big blue eyes are determined, curious. Almost at the top of the ladder, Daryl grabs the boy by his armpits and lifts him up to the platform. The three and a half year old is an early riser and has managed to dress himself this morning too, except the shoes that Juri wiggles in front of Daryl, to tie for him.
“Ya’ gotta learn to do this on ye’re own someday, kiddo.” Daryl says and ties the tiny Chuck Taylors.
A small index finger is pointed right at him. Juri looks at him with a clever grin, as to say: ‘Well, until then, you’re doing it for me’. Yeah, that’s probably true. Daryl lets out a faint chuckle. Being bossed around by a kid is something new.
“Ya’ mom’s asleep?”
Juri nods. Daryl smiles. Before he left the night before to join Abraham at the watchtower he checked in on Mila and Juri. Juri was tucked in for bed and Mila had curled up next to him, supported by at least four pillows, with two books about bunnies in her lap; The Velveteen Rabbit and The Naughty Bunny.
“See ya’ in the mornin’.” Daryl said, stroking Mila’s hair. “Night, kiddo.”
The smile he received from Juri, all wrapped up under the covers with his soft toys was priceless and also followed by a thrown, open-palm kiss.
Juri settles down next to him on the platform. He’s dressed in a pair of rust colored dungarees with a black jumper underneath. On top he wears a flannel to shield himself from the still awakening sunlight, looking very proper. The blonde hair looks half combed, as if he got tired with trying and decided to leave it be. He fiddles on the walkman, while peering out over the wall with squinting eyes.
“Ya’ had breakfast?” Daryl asks.
Juri doesn’t answer, obviously, but he puts his hand in the front chest pocket of the dungarees and pulls something from it. A pack of two Reese’s cups. Daryl grins.
“Ya’ mom won’t like that.” He says, but gets an authoritarian index finger in front of the mouth, followed by a ‘shhh’ from the boy; ‘I won’t tell if you don’t tell’. “Go ahead, kiddo.” Daryl therefore says.
He watches as Juri peels the packaging open and takes out a peanut butter cup and hands it to him. They eat the chocolate-peanutty-goodies under silence. He’s amazed at the little boy, who seems to have the intellect and the ability to think like a child who is twice as old. Mila hasn’t coddled him, except smothered him with infinite amounts of motherly love, no doubt ‘bout that, but he can dress himself, make decisions on his own. He’s curious rather than scared and calculating rather than impulsive. He likes to collect stones, feathers and sticks, picks flowers, investigates bugs and likes to draw and listen to music while jumping on the bed or running around in the streets. And Daryl adores him. He’s a great kid.
“Whatcha’ listen to?” Daryl nods at the walkman between the small hands.
Juri removes the headphones from around his neck. He holds them up in his right hand as he pushes the ‘play’-button and turns the small ‘plus’-volume button on the side of the device, increasing the volume, leaking an old rock song.
“Sounds great.”
Juri gesticulates with his hands. It makes him feel both dumb and sad over the fact that he actually can’t understand the kid. Not that it stops Juri from trying, but he can’t understand no matter how many times he repeats his gestures.
“Sorry kiddo.”
The kiddo ain’t let down that easily. He opens the walkman, takes out the tape and shows him. Daryl reads ‘Boston - Boston, 1979’, written in black marker at the thin line on the orange paper label at the black plastic tape.
“Okay, here we go-” Rick appears at the edge of the platform, but pauses and bursts into a wide grin at the sight of Juri. “Hey, little guy.”
Juri waves at Rick as he climbs up and sits down at his left side.
“Here-” Rick hands Daryl the bottled water and then looks at Juri. “You’re up early.”
The blonde boy nods proudly, as to say ‘yup, before my mom’. Daryl unscrews the cap from the plastic bottle and offers it to Juri. He takes it and takes two small sips, before handing it back and continuing to look out over the wall. But soon the little nose begins to search in the air. Daryl and Rick can smell it too; breakfast. Toasts and waffles.
“Ya hungry?” Rick asks Juri. Juri turns and peers up at Daryl, as if he had an answer for it. He then turns back to Rick, and shakes his head. “We’ll be replaced soon. Then we’ll eat.” Rick says, very dad-like. Authoritarian but still nice.
Juri nods and returns to his walkman, puts the headphones over his blonde hair and disappears into his own world of Boston, 1979. Daryl looks down at the toddler sitting between him and Rick, nodding his head to the beat of the music, so carefree and at ease. He looks so much like Mila, except the blonde hair. But his constant cool is something else, a hybrid between Mila and whoever the man who biologically is his father. Mila’s a hothead by blood, with impressive self-control. Like the calmest water which in an instant can blow up into a raging storm. Juri, on the other hand, is calmness personified whatever the situation. Maybe because he relies on Mila entirely. He never has to be scared or worried.
“Now, that’s a sight for sore eyes.”
Daryl’s interrupted in his thoughts. He turns and looks over his left shoulder. Carol is standing on the ground, shielding her eyes from the sun, smiling up at the three of them. Juri waves happily down at her with a proud smile on his lips. He’s with the big boys now.
“Hi, darling.” Carol waves at him before turning her eyes to Daryl. “Ya’ boys hungry?” Juri sniffs in the air and nods. “There’s honey and waffles for you, darling.” Carol smiles at the blonde boy. “What about you two?”
“Sounds great.” Rick says. “We’ll be replaced soon.”
“Great.” Carol replies. “You’ve been up there all night.” She continues. “We’re planning a barbeque tonight. Why don’t you get some venison later?”
I’ll be damn Carol, Daryl thinks to himself with a faint, but thankful smile. More things to do today, except collecting materials for the wall.
“Sure.” He calls back at her.
“I’ll thank you later, when you’re back with some meat.” She replies in a cheeky smile. “I’ll bring you three something to eat before you leave if you’d like?”
“Set up three more plates.” Rick says. “We’re done here soon.”
Carol nods smilingly, turns and starts walking back towards the houses. Daryl and Rick look at each other. Huh, a barbecue.
“Could be fun.” Rick says. “Gotta chop some wood then. You wanna help?” He looks at Juri, who nods eagerly with the headphones around his neck again, excited to help out with grown-up stuff. “Great. We’ll start right away, after we’d had something to eat.”
Juri nods and looks at the two men on each side of him, rubbing his tummy, showing them that now he’s hungry. Especially when there’s waffles. He then gets up on his knees and, without warning, climbs into Daryl’s lap. The small hands start to fiddle with his vest, then with the cord of the headphones. Daryl doesn’t tense, but he becomes instantly aware of his body, as if a baby deer had climbed into his lap; he can’t scare him away. But Juri’s calm and relaxed. In the corner of his eye, Daryl sees Rick smile.
“What?”
“Nothin’.” Rick says and blinks. “Just, everything’s kinda fine, right?”
Daryl turns his gaze from Rick and looks down at Juri, who meets his gaze and smiles sunny, then out over the area on the other side of the safe-zone, contemplating his friend’s words. Yeah, he thinks. Things are actually kinda perfect. Fuckin’ hell, he feels great. Everything’s calm. No breaches and no herd of walkers approaching. There’s a three and a half-year old in his lap that looks at him like- yeah Daryl can’t figure that one out. But he seems happy. And there’s Mila, probably half awake by now, back at the house. Holy shit, he’s got his shit together at last.
“Guess ya’ right.” Daryl replies.
“Yep.” Rick says, also turning his head out over the surroundings. “I’m happy for ya’.” He sighs. “It’ll be fun. Barbecue. Bonfire. The only thing’s missing is a harmonica, or a guitar.” Rick turns his head to look at him. “Ya’ play?”
“What? Guitar?” Daryl shakes his head. “Nah.”
But a faint smile spreads upon Daryl’s lips as an idea forms inside his head, accompanied by the muffled sound from Juri’s headphones, which leaks a guitar solo. Nah, he ain’t playing. But he knows someone who might. Inside his head, he adds another task to his mental to do-list.

tours & surprises
This is based on a request from @babygirlmil , hope it is okay!
Nick Mara x Reader
“And you’re completely sure that he has no idea?” The boy whose face covered my entire phone screen just shook his head so violently that his glasses almost fell off. The black-haired girl sitting beside him let a laugh slip past her pink lips, causing Brandon to give her the most annoyed look he could muster. “B, you better practice your poker face if you and Maggie are the only ones keeping this secret.” His facade slipped at that, and now all three of us were giggling, I don’t know if it was from nerves or from just having bad humor. Nevertheless, it didn’t seem to matter since giggles kept slipping past my lips whenever I tried to say something serious.
“Okay for real, he doesn’t even suspect anything right?” Maggie and Brandon sighed in union and just shook their heads. “Not right now, but if you ask one more time I will go and fucking tell Nick.” I narrowed my eyes at the black-haired girl that somehow had managed to become my best friend. “Sorry, I just really want it to be a good surprise.” Her harsh expression melted a little at my words and she gave me a cheeky grin. “Well it will be, and listen you didn’t hear this from me but he has been pretty annoying talking about you all the time, so you better give him a good fuck.” Both I and Brandon looked at her with our mouths wide open and he leaned back into the sofa they were occupying and just mouthed oh my god. “Well yeah why do you think I am taking a four-hour plane ride to see him?” She snickered at that while Brandon just got up and left, muttering something about now wanting to be a part of our freaky conversations. “However Mags, you shouldn’t be the one talking when your man can’t even handle talking about it.” I stuck my tongue out at the camera, while she just laughed and shook her head.
After we hung up, I held my phone in a death grip trying to ease the anxiety that rose whenever I glanced at the plane. The fear of flying had plagued me since before I could even form a sentence, but now it was mixed with the nerves that came from not seeing my boyfriend for almost four weeks. Usually, it would be his hand that my fingers were digging into whenever my nerves got the best of me, but today my phone had to suffice.
The only time my fingers let go of my phone was when I got off the plane and finally could feel some sort of calm enter my body. I survived a four-hour plane ride by myself, surely I would be able to get to their venue without fucking this up? But before I could get going, there was a need to change out of the sweatpants and hoodie that had been on my body for way too long. A couple of minutes later, a pair of light blue jeans and a white shirt adorned my body. It wasn’t much, but it did take away the feeling of being disgusting.
To Maggie L
I’m taking a uber now to the venue now, care to open the door for me?:)
From Maggie L Duh
After an awkward uber ride and a lot of banging on the door for Maggie to let me in, I felt drained. But the knowledge of being in the same building as the person that held my heart, made energy burst through my veins.Their show was starting soon and I was hiding in the bathroom, waiting for Maggie to tell me that the coast was clear so that we finally could go out. When she had opened the door for me to get in the building, we had to run and hide. Apparently Brandon had forgotten about me and decided that the boys were to take that exact route through the venue. Maggie and I had been sending several curses his way when we finally were able to catch our breaths.
A light knock on the door woke me up from my trance, and I quickly opened the door and walked out. I had barely gotten out of the door before Maggie linked our arms together and started dragging me towards the barricade, where we would be spending our night. “So what’s the plan, are you going to like surprise him after the show?” I turned my face up to look at her and nodded. “Yeah, that’s the plan.” She gave me a small smile and then started walking faster as she heard the opening music.
Wait a fucking minute
“Maggie Lindemann! Please don’t tell me what I think you are implying.” I yelled after her and started running after her. She turned around and just gave me a cheeky grin, causing me to put my face in my hands and sigh loudly. “Girl what is your problem, I haven’t said anything.” I gave her an annoyed look as she continued to giggle, but all my thoughts melted away the second that the boys ran out on stage. Fuck he looked so good, I shivered at the thought of lying in his arms tonight. As a child the thought of loving someone so much you that you couldn’t take your eyes off them seemed silly and impossible. But when Nick was dancing and singing his heart out, how was I supposed to look at anything else? So during the first thirty minutes of the show, I watched with tears in my eyes while my mouth hung open in astonishment. In the corner of my eye, I could see Maggie filming me but my mind was elsewhere. “Guys guys, there is actually someone special in the audience today.-” Brandon paused and looked at the other boys with a small grin, three of the boys looked equally happy while the fourth one looked at all of them in confusion. I turned to look at Maggie, my heart beating faster and faster for every second that ticked by.
“So you’re telling me that your boyfriend forgot that I was coming, but he could fucking remember to drag me up on stage? He knows I have stage fright.” Although what I was saying was indeed true, a big part of me was becoming ecstatic over the fact that I would be able to hug Nick and bury my head in his chest in just a couple of minutes. “Shh, He is talking again.” I shook my head at her but couldn’t help the way my whole face lit up when Brandon said my name. “So y/n, you care to come up here?” The second Brandon said my name, Nick furrowed his brows and looked at all the boys while asking them something that I couldn’t possibly hear over the screams. Maggie’s hands were on my back as she started pushing me towards the little staircase that led up to the stage. Nick was still looking around with a confused expression, he didn’t really seem to know what was going on. He was looking for me in all the wrong places, making Zion turn him around and push him in my direction.
He stumbled over his feet when his eyes caught mine and I brought my hand up to my mouth if it was to stop myself from laughing or crying, I did not know. People were screaming our names, it felt surreal because I did not even think people knew who I was. But they knew Nick, and that was enough for them. Nick said something, but yet again I couldn’t hear. Therefore I started running towards him because I never wanted to miss another word that came out of his mouth.
His arms engulfed me in a body crushing hug, and now I couldn’t stop the tears from escaping my eyes. He spun me around and laughed, the other boys were saying something in their microphone but I couldn’t focus on anything but Nick’s laugh.
“I wasn’t supposed to cry, you were.” I laughed when he set me down on the stage and he grabbed my face between his hands, wiping away any tear that had managed to find it’s way down my cheeks. “Fuck, you’re really here mamas.” I smiled at him, mimicking the toothy grin that was lighting his face, and I placed his face between my hands. Before I went in for the kiss I had been longing after for four weeks, my lips brushed past his ear, whispering
I’m really here.

Rocking Around the Christmas Tree
SUMMARY: Gabriel Meets Wally West at the Christmas Tree lighting and they spend a wonderful time together. With Snowball fights and Hot chocolate  TRIGGERS: None WRITTEN WITH: @fasterthanl1ght
Gabriel: loved all these lights and happy kids faces he passed while walking through Rockefeller It was amazing to see how the humans celebrating the holiday season. He found a nice spot in front of the tree on a park bench smiling softly hearing the sounds of happy kids and movement of people. He felt eyes on him as he gave them a soft smile "Hello, Enjoying the Holiday fun?"
Wally:  Wally was having a blast. Christmas in Rockefeller. It didn't get much more iconic than that. He passed by a family making a snowman, some kids having a snowball fight, a couple taking a romantic walk. As he approached a park bench he got a look at the guy sitting on it and was slightly floored. Damn. He'd met some good looking folks in his time, like the Titans or the Justice League, but this guy was like on another level. It took him a second to realize he was staring and he turned away a bit just to avoid making it super obvious. "Hm me? Yeah man I love this time of year. It's my favorite!" Wow did he always sound like such a nerd? He coughed a bit feeling the need to clear his throat suddenly before turning the question on the other man. "What about you? Are you stoked for Christmas? Or you know, whatever you celebrate?"
Gabriel:  Gabe chuckled softly feeling eyes on him as he sat near the hub of all the activity, he'd briefly saw Sam and Charlie dancing feeling extreme happiness to see them enjoying themselves when he turned his attention to the boy with bright red hair something he'd yet to see in this new world. "Same, I love the idea of bring families closer and sending everyone good will." He mused looking at the other chuckling softly "I'm very stoked for it, this will be the first year in awhile I've got all my siblings close enough to spend time with them. We celebrate Christmas, well I suppose some of us do either way I'm super excited."
Wally: Family. It was a little hard to think of that with Barry gone and his parents...well he just didn't really want to think of them. Hell he hadn't even decided if he was going to visit Iris yet. He smiled lightly and decided to join the guy on the bench to look at the tree. "I was an only child but I can imagine it must be pretty great having your siblings around for Christmas. In any case Christmas is the best for sure."
Gabriel: Looked at the other wondering if he had someone to spend the holidays with, he'd learned that many people were sometimes without family which made his  heart hurt for those. "Really how interesting, I'm sure my youngest brother wishes he was an only child. But I rather like it, we sort of had a family falling out years ago this the first time we are all in the same city together. I'm sort of working up my courage to see how he is doing at the Lux club."
Wally: "Ah. Sibling rivalry. I've heard tales of it." The Titans were probably the closest thing to siblings he had and they had their tiffs for sure. Dick probably had the best examples of sibling rivalry of anyone he'd ever met. But that didn't mean the Bat Fam didn't have each other's backs when it counted. Mostly. He pat the other on the back in encouragement and grinned. "Hey man don't sweat it. I'm sure your brother will come around. If ever there was a time to patch things up and start again, this is it. That's what Christmas and New Years is all about right? Peace on Earth and goodwill and stuff."
Gabriel: He smiled nodding his head "it can be quite crazy but lucky I'm pretty close to the youngest group so I i admit its hard playing both sides." He mused looking at the other he was hoping to move forward with his fallen brothers, especially  Lucifer, he really missed his younger sibling and hopped maybe with everything happening they could get on better terms. "Thank you that's very kind of you to say, currently he is going through a rough patch and I want to be there for him but I don't want to come off overbearing. Its hard being the elder brother at times especially when once upon a time we were so close. I miss that closeness we used to share."
Wally: "That is a fine line to walk. Wanting to be closer but afraid to push them away at the same time." He'd done the same thing with his friends. It had taken him so long to decide to come back to them but he did and they welcomed him without question. He knew not everyone was so lucky but he had hope. "I think you'll be close again. You're his brother. That has to count for something." Wally was sometimes too optimistic for his own good but during Christmas he felt it was justified. His specialty was bringing some cheer to where it was needed most and as he watched the kids playing, some he even recognized from F.E.A.S.T. an idea came to him and he grinned. "You wanna join a snowball fight?" It was totally random but this guy sounded like he could use some good old fashioned winter fun right about now.
Gabriel: "You are right very fine line so far the last time we saw one another it was nice, we didn't beat each other up like before." He mused smiling softly he missed Lucifer and fighting with him in the Veil only made that feeling so much stronger if he was honest with himself.  "I love your optimistic not maybe people have that gift , I think you are right clear all the negative from my head and we should get close again. I never stopped caring about him I'll just have to show him." Gabe's smile returned almost tenfold when the other mention a snowball fight. "I'd love one! its actually be my first in a long time promise to take it easy on me? OH I'm Gabriel by the way, Gabe for short." He replied hopping off the bench holding out his hand.
Wally: Alright that just wasn't fair. No one should be allowed to look that good. The dude, Gabe's smile was practically blinding. Holy hell. Wally did his best to shake it off and laughed as he held out his hand to shake the others. "Wally West. Optimism is kind of my thing. There's always a bright side somewhere if you're willing to look." He grinned happily and started towards the kids calling to them. "Hey guys, this is my new friend Gabe! Mind if we join you?" They kids all looked at each other before agreeing excitedly and separated themselves into teams. Having a grown up on their side gave them a great advantage after all. Wally turned back to Gabe nearly buzzing with his own excitement. "Alright if this is your first snowball fight I'll try and go easy on you. The kids might not though so just, heads up. Basically there's two teams right. And you just run around pelting each other with snowballs until the other teams give up! Easy!" Ok so maybe those rules were oversimplified but that's how he used to play with the Titans. Only they used super powers. Which reminded him of one other thing Gabe should know. "Just remember when you're making a snowball don't pack it too tight. And make sure there's no rocks or ice in it. We don't want anyone getting hurt you know. This is strictly for fun. No tears allowed. Unless of course you feel the need to cry when my team wins. I promise I won't judge." Cute or not Gabe was so going down and Wally couldn't wait.
Gabriel: He was quite happy for the distraction in the form of Wally the male seemed to be just as fun as he was plus it gave him an excuse to not wonder into the Lux too early and set Lucifer off. He walked a rather thin line when it came to his youngest brother but he was still happy to be close to him once again. "Sounds like great advice to live by when one thinks about it" he mused letting the other talk giving the kids a slight wave of his hand. He looked at his teammates smiling before being pulled back to Wally. "That sounds amazing, I hope you wont cry if I get you a couple times then?" he teased nodding his head he'd seen the other making the snowballs enough to get the hang of it plus it will be fun either way I'm sure" he mused before nodding is head chuckling at the other "I promise no tears or pain, but try not to cry if If my team takes the win after all I could be some snow chap" he mused moving over to his team to help make some snowballs for the starting fight.
Wally: Wally was glad he could provide a distraction if nothing else. Christmas time was no time to be down when you could be getting that holiday cheer. He grinned a cheeky grin at the other's words, before switching his tone to one of mock sympathy. "Listen Gabe you're a cool guy and all, but you're not going to hit me. Not even once. But don't feel too bad though. I was the dodge ball king back in high school." Or he would have been if he'd been allowed to use his powers. He totally let those jerks pelt him back then. The kids had built up two snow barricades to act as bases for their teams and Wally went to the one closest to him to plot with the kids on his side. Once their strategy was set he picked up a snowball and made a show of stretching out in front of the enemy team and Gabe. "All right kiddos let me show you how a pro gets things done." With that he sent a snowball flying straight at Gabe. At normal speed of course. He didn't want to crush the poor guy on his first strike. Not in his first snowball fight ever. With the first ball in the air the game was on and with a yell it began. "ATTACK!" The kids behind him all screamed and let their own snowballs fly. Wally was smiling like a loon as he peppered the other team as best he could with going over board.
Gabriel: Gabe had to admit he was beyond glad that he could spend time with Wally he seemed like quite a fun person plus his bright red hair had captured Gabriel's attention almost immediately. He decided it was best to not go over using his strength and powers less the other feel he gave them an unfair advantage. "I bet I can hit you just once during this little snowball fight, Loser buys the Hot chocolate what do you say? We both come out a winner." He mused holding out his hand winking at Wally. He smiled watching the kids excitedly get ready for the fight, it was times like this he loved humanity, things were so simply to kids compare to adults. "Okay now we are going to not only win but have an amazing time okay?" He told the kids smiling at their cheers before he ducked to move away from the snowballs flying "Cheater!" he chuckled out loud throwing his snowballs "Let them have it."
Wally: "Alright hot stuff, you're on. I'll take that bet. That hot chocolate is going to taste so much sweeter when you buy it for me." Wally wasted no time and once the game started he was off like a rocket. No super speed yet but even his normal fast was crazy. He made snow balls in record time and his team now had an endless supply. When he joined the fray he targeted Gabe specifically. Mostly because he didn't want to go for the kids because that seemed kind of low but also because it was the best tactical option to take out the strongest asset first. He almost missed the snowball coming at him from the side but his speed kicked in just for a split second, lighting flashed across his eyes as he moved imperceptibly fast just enough to doge before time slowed again and he was going at the kids pace. Any normal human wouldn't have seen that be he was unaware of who the person was that he had actually challenged.
Gabriel: He couldn't help but chuckle at the other he could tell he was going to like Wally alot, they male had similar energy to him which made wanting to be friends with him quite easy. He wouldn't even mind paying for Hot chocolate if his team lost after all this fight was the most fun he'd had in ages. He didn't know Wally had powers of course had he been human maybe he wouldn't have noticed the sudden super speed. He couldn't help but smile using some of his strategy to up his aim a bit trying to get a snowball and hit the red haired male moving to dodge anything coming his way. "is that the best you've got Wally?"
Wally: The kids were dropping fast now as one by one they started to get tired or took one too many snow balls. Wally was laughing and running around making more snowballs and generally having a great time. He might as well have been a kid himself for all the fun he was having. There was a reason he got along so well with the kids from F.E.A.S.T. It was also why the Flash helped deliver presents on Christmas Eve. This was what the holidays were about and Wally loved it with his every fiber of his being. The challenge from Gabe only made him grin wider. "You wish. You haven't seen even half the things I can do." The battle was slowing down as the kids gradually began to sit on the side lines. Of course his energy reserves were doing just fine and he wasn't waning at all in his onslaught. He saw the snowball Gabe threw at him coming and caught it mid air with a smirk. He pulled his arm back and sent it flying right back at Gabe, certain that it was going to hit.
Gabriel: Gabe was enjoying himself itd been such a long time since he'd  be this free and happy. Lately he'd been feeling a tad off but after spending time with the kids and Wally he felt rejuvenate in a way he couldn't explain. The holidays while not all of his siblings favorite time still was great because they once again were all together.  He could tell the kids were getting tired with their snowball antics which was fine because his subject was Wally. He chuckled at the others reply looking back at this attempts he enjoyed the fun that came with fight. So when wally caught his snowball only to throw it back he let it hit him. " ahh I've been hit" he fell to the ground pretending to die " how cruel the world is did you see how vicious he was in his attack kids?" He chuckled making the kids laugh.
Wally: Wally laughed and did a victory lap as Gabe went down, moaning about his epic loss. "Woo! That's right! Team Wally for the win! Heck yeah!" The next moment he was gobsmacked as the kids proceeded to ignore him in favor of going to check up on Gabriel to make sure he was ok. His heart melted at the sight of them checking Gabe's forehead and trying to see if he was hurt. They were such good kids. He shook his head smiling lightly as he went over to help. He held out his hand to help the other up out of the snow. "Looks like victory is mine. These kids are shaming me pretty good in sportsmanship though so what do you say. Truce?"
Gabriel: Gabriel chuckled softly watching Wally do his victory lap before he had all the kids rush to him checking him over. This is why he loved kids so much, they were always so kind and loving before the world or people molded and changed them. “I’m okay I shall struggle with this loss” He teased the kids tickling a few before waving his hand “I will say though I have all these candy canes, and it's only fair to share them huh?” He mused handing each kid from both teams cane telling them how great they played as they ran off to their parents who were waiting. He smirked at the hand Wally held out to him taking it without any issue hiding a little bit of snow in his other patting through the others bright red hair. “Oops” he smirks laughing nodding his head “quite so, they are brilliant at sportsmanship and I do accept that Truce. How about that Hot Chocolate I promised?”
Wally: The scene was heart warming really. The kids obviously loved the candy canes and he loved seeing them so happy and carefree. However his own happiness was tinged with a little bitterness as he watched some return to their parents, and some to their chaperones from FEAST. It wasn't fair that those so young had to go through something as terrible as growing up without a home or family. But that was why he did what he did. If no one else would love them then he would. Just like Barry did for him. He was smiling as he helped Gabe up until something cold ran through his hair and down his back. "ha-ah! AH! COLD!" He jerked back and shook his hair out as best as he could but the damage was done and his usually bright red fluffy locks were now damp and limp as they hung down into his eyes. "Well that was cheap! So much for sportsmanship!" He shivered and made a show of shaking off the cold. It might have been a little exaggerated but that smirk of Gabe's left him even more flustered than the snow and he had to play that off. "You do realize this means I have to get you back at some point?" Despite his words he was still grinning like mad at the other. "But later. Right now I'm going to need something to warm up after all this cold."
Gabriel: He had greatly loved hanging out with the children and spending time playing a game he'd only seen from Heaven. He had fun, enjoying the laughter of child who seemed to wish him and Wally all good will before they left.  Gabe chuckled at how well he'd managed a sneak attack on Wally if anything Michael would be proud of how well he'd played things. "sorry Wally but you know its only fair I was cold now we both can be." He chuckled happily looking at the other before smiling " I suppose so but either way I planned to warm you up with some nice Hot Chocolate so maybe you'll find it in your heart to forgive me" He gave a rather cute pout before nodding his head pulling the other towards the Hot Chocolate tent "They have a couple kinds, Mellow Hot Chocolate, Mint Hot Chocolate or Regular what do you feel like?"
Wally: Ok. Saying something like 'i was planning to warm you up' should not have sounded sexy at all. And yet here he was, having those kinds of thoughts when clearer that was no the intention. Then Gabe hit him with a pout that should not have been as cute as it was and Wally was even more confused. He was freakin hopeless. He was also really good at being in denial so he just laughed and shook his head. "Your bribe is tempting, therefore I will forgive you. This time." He was grinning ear to ear as he followed the other into the tent, sighing as the warmth and scent of chocolate filled the air. "Mmm you know I think I'll go for the mint. I like switching things up."
Gabriel: Had to admit it was nice having Friends even if their was something quite new between them it felt nice to have someone to hang out with that wasn't his family. He chuckled softly "Yes I told you I can be quite convincing, plus I've just thought to share the snow with you since you shared with me" He teased the other before nodding his head "perfect I'll get a mellow one" He mused ordering their hot chocolate and paying for their stepping to the side to wait for it. "smells good doesn't it?"
Wally:  Wally had severely underestimated just how convincing his new friend could be. hell it's not like the guy was actually doing anything particularly convincing in the first place. Wally was just weak. That was it. He rolled his eyes still smiling. "How generous of you. We should get you a medal to commemorate your generosity." He stood beside Gabe as they waited for their drinks, the other people happily chatting and milling about around them. He took a deep breath and slowly released it, taking in the smell of chocolate hanging in the air. "Mm it does. Thank you. I know we tease and all but I do actually appreciate it. The drink and the snowball fight. People underestimate what a little fun can do you know." Wally may not have admitted it to himself or anyone else but he also had a lot on his mind this season and a snowball fight with a perfect stranger turned friend had been just the distraction he needed.
Gabriel:  Gabe smiled at the other he was quite glad to have run into someone new while hanging out by the tree, he'd known plenty of his siblings were off doing whatever made them happier so it was nice to have something of his own. "I wouldn't mind one, I bet I'd look very dashing with some medals" He chuckled softly looking around everything smelled heavenly and he could still hear the sounds of happiness filling the air. "You are very welcome Wally, I appreciate you hanging out with me after the game, its been quite along time since I've had this much fun" He replied honestly smiling when their drinks were done passing Wally's his. "So what other things do you like to do for fun? I'm curious"
Wally:  Dashing was definitely one way to put it but Gabe didn't need a medal to look good. He did that just fine with his stunning smile and those blue eyes and that curly hair and, oh wow. Wally really needed to stop. He was getting way too ahead of himself here. He chuckled and nodded. "Yes dashing. I'm sure you would. And you're welcome too. Though It's not like I was going out of my way or anything. I just like having fun. Especially this time of year." He was more than happy to spread the love and cheer with someone who needed it. The last question had him pondering for a second. "Well, I play video games and watch movies, jam out on my guitar or bass, go running, swimming, basketball, I volunteer a lot. That's actually how I knew those kids. Most of them were from F.E.A.S.T. I don't know if you've heard of it but it's a great place. They do a lot of good there and i'm happy to be a small part of that." Was he speed talking? He didn't think so but when he got to rambling it was harder for him to tell. Shockingly he wasn't used to talking about himself this much. Which meant it was time to switch subjects. "What about you? What sort of things do you do when you're not getting utterly destroyed in snow ball fights?"
Gabriel:  Had to admit this wasn't his first time being called dashing, there were entire artworks detailed to his face taking on his beauty unlike his brothers who looked more like a hot mess then anything real. Yet hearing it from wally made him smile a bit more chuckling "it's still was quite the first meeting, it's been awhile since I've had fun like that, things have been rather strange since moving here to New York. Much like everyone else its been a rather up and down year." He replied honestly he hadn't felt this happy since before he arrived here and learned the truth of his father's cruelty towards his siblings. "That sounds amazing, i mean not many people volunteer much here I've noticed and I have heard of F.E.A.S.T  I love their work and often working towards doing more for them. Sort of a pet project of mine, i have quite the soft spot for children." He mused enjoying all the new information he'd gotten from Wally he was quite a wonderful person. "Well not at completely exciting as everything you do,  I enjoy reading all types of books really you'll often find me with a book in my hand compared to gaming controller but I still can hold my own thanks to my elder brother.  I also love cooking and baking so i like finding and trying new food to create, spending time with my family is always a plus in my book. It never fails to make me smile finding activities that will make my siblings smile and laugh. " He mused honestly smiling softly as their drinks were given to them taking a sip. "Mhmm its soo good isn't it?"
Wally:  "Tell me about it. New York ain't like Kansas that's for sure. It's a whole other animal." New York City was probably three times the size of Keystone City and eve for a guy who could see it all in seconds, it was a lot. He listened, nodding along and smiling as Gabe explained his own interests. They had a lot in common but some differences as well. Wally for example, couldn't cook to save his life. It took WAY too long for a speedster. "A love of books we have in common and also a love of food. Though I am probably the worst cook you can imagine. Big ups to you for learning how to cook. I usually make due with fast food and hot pockets." He sipped his hot chocolate admiring the way he talked about his family. No wonder the guy was excited to see them this year. By the sound of it they seemed very important to him. He was about to answer Gabe's comment about the drink when he tipped it back and got nothing. "Huh. It was. Must have been better than I thought since I downed that in no time."
Gabriel:  "I take it you are from Kansas then? I've never been there I hear its a lot of farm land is that true?" Gabe questioned wondering about other places outside of New York.  He was beyond happy to be making friends with the other boy it wasn't as if he had plenty and enjoyed having people around after coming from so many siblings "Yeah? food is amazing and sometimes a good book is enough to keep me entertained all night, I've never had a hot pocket before does it taste good?" he asked wondering if the other wanted to grab some food later with him given that he seemed to like food as much as he did. "I enjoy cooking it does take some time though If i ever cook for you I can just invite you over when it's done, then you reap the reward of my cooking" he mused smiling as he sipped his drink till the end before looking at the other. "That's cute Wally, I'm glad you like it, you know we don't have to end our company if you'd like, maybe we could look around together and grab some more treats?"
Wally:  "Put it to you this way. If you like wheat, corn and cows...and nothing else, than Kansas is a great place for you." He wasn't joking either. Outside of the cities that was pretty much what Kansas had. "Oh and tornadoes. But you get used to it." They didn't mean anything to him but even for the rest of the Kansas populations it was a normal enough occurrence that it didn't faze them too much. Wally was a little taken aback by the offer to cook for him. Out of the blue. They'd barely met but Gabe seemed so, open. More so even than him and that was saying something. "Well, I mean sure I'd love to hang out some more. And I'd love to try your cooking and show you what a hot pocket tastes like, not that it's anything to write home about. But...I don't know I'm just not used to people liking me so quickly. Are you sure you really to want to do this? I'm asking now so you don't make a mistake you might regret later." Wally winked and laughed but there was an undertone of insecurity there that he couldn't mask if he tried. It was just a habit of his to make light of things that worried him or things that he was unsure of.
Gabriel:  "I have to admit I've never seen a Cow up close are they cool animals? though I have to wonder what place you like more New York or Kansas" Gabe asked curiously things about Wally keep getting more and more interesting as he chatted with the other. "Tornadoes quite the thing they are destruction and beauty if you believe the whole eye of the storm thing" He mused He smiled softly at the other "I love cooking for people....that offer was odd huh? sorry I'm quite new at this whole making friends thing.  I'd like to try a hot pocket especially if you give me tips. I like you Wally you are fun to hang out with...I'm sorry if I'm too strange" He mused running a hand through his hair, humans were so hard to understand but then again he did like Wally. "I want to hang out more with you and get to know you, if you'd be willing to get to know me?"
Wally:  "Oh Kansas for sure. Don't get me wrong, New York is great and all. But in the famous words of Dorothy Gale, there's just no place like home." Keystone would always be his city and even if he was currently stationed in New York City he still cleaned up the Keystones streets any chance he got. Central too if Barry was busy. "I've seen tornadoes and cows up close and personal so I can say for sure that cows are cute and that tornadoes are awesome. The destruction isn't, but nature is incredible in it's own right." As Gabriel began to apologize Wally was quick to ease his worries. "No no you're not odd at all. I'm the one who's odd. Frankly I was just surprised you hadn't gotten tired of me yet. I'm not exactly everyone's cup of tea you know." He chuckled a little at the quip and smiled. "Of course I'd be happy to hang out with you. And if you really REALLY want to, I'll even get you a hot pocket. Though as a cook you might want to brace yourself. They're not exactly five star quality haha." This whole meeting felt incredibly serendipitous. Almost like it was too good to be true. That didn't bother Wally at all. He'd always been of the mind set that you roll with the good times and the bad. He was going to enjoy this new friendship as long as it lasted.
Gabriel: “Sounds like a nice place, maybe one day I can go visit down there, at least see where you came from and how cool it sounds.” Gabe replied smiling softly it was nice to see other places and he thinks he might have seen Kansas once upon a time but he hardly remembered anymore. “Cows and cute and tornadoes are awesome just so long as the destruction is kept to a minimum, Got it” He mused chuckling. Gabriel wasn’t sure if he mis-stepped but he was grateful when Wally told him he hadn't and he didn’t want to ruin his friendship. “Oh good I’m so glad to hear that you don’t find me odd. I don’t think I could, you are very fun Wally, I mean what about you makes people tired?” he questioned curiously what about Wally made people upset he couldn’t understand at all. “I don’t mind, My other siblings are huge snack lovers, they might have even fed them to me and I don’t remember every new thing they like to show me in terms of food there is a lot. But I can get some good ideas from them about food related fun” He mused happily chuckling softly before wrapping his arm around Wally’s shoulder. “This is going to be the start of a great friendship just you wait Wally.”
Wally:  Gabe definitely made Kansas sound a lot cooler than it actually was. Obviously Wally liked it because that was where he grew up and that's where his home city was but most people didn't really care for it. Especially people who were used to huge metropolitan areas. But Gabe seemed really interested so, why not? "Maybe I'll take you sometime. Show you the sights." Even if there weren't too many sights to see. This whole whirlwind of a friendship was fast even for Wally but he didn't mind one bit. Gabe was kind and generous and easy on the eyes. Wally wasn't surprised they hit it off so well but he was surprised at how quick Gabe was to defend him when they had only just met. The insecure part of him knew it was probably only temporary and that one day Gabe would grow tired of him but the optimistic side didn't really care. If that was what happened then he'd cross that bridge when they got there. For now he was just happy to get to know the guy. He smiled hearing him talk more about his siblings so fondly. "You're family sounds like a great bunch. Complicated, but still great. I'm lucky to find people who can tolerate me." He felt a warmth that had nothing to do with the hot chocolate cover him as Gabriel put his arm around him. For a second he wanted nothing more than to just stay like that, warm and safe and happy. He didn't know how long this would last, whatever this was, but he intended to enjoy every moment of it. "I think so too Gabe." A great friendship indeed. Whatever came next Wally was going to embrace it for however long he could. /END

valjean got absolutely battered by mr “feel the weight of my rod”
also there were flaming torches now and throughout which was pretty sick
valjean crying when the bishop redeems him
the hordes in at the end of the day had their shawls taken off to become the factory girls which was cool
there was a PROPER SCRAP between fantine and the factory girl

it was good tho
carrie hope fletcher just... *chefs kiss*
no teeth pulling for fantine in lovely ladies
and all the ladies were really good too
when fantine told valjean her story she was clinging onto him and crying it was… very emotional

fantine dying was extremely sad. as usual.
THE CONFRONTATION WAS THE BEST EVER IT WAS A PROPER FIGHT AND OOOH IT WAS JUST GREAT
THE UNIFIED “JAVERT!” GAVE ME CHILLS I SWEAR
anyways
madame. frickin. thénardier. was excellent. she was a really nice change from the normal pantomime vibes, like a cross between that and helena bonham carter in the film
the actor playing thénardier had some problem with his vocal chords so he wasn’t on, but the cover was acting his heart out and trying his best to sing but i think he’d lost his voice too which was a huge shame. he was still really good and funny though.
that master of the house… my god. hilarious.
there was a new bit at the start of it??? very exciting. it was like,,, people ordering drinks i think
valjean and little cosette was… so cute i literally can’t
the bargain was brilliant as per
GAVROCHE WAS AMAZING
look down featured enj and marius getting told off by the police and getting their banner taken down

ONE DAY MOOOOOOORE was as rousing as ever
ACT II
on my own,,,,, oh god my tears, shan ako’s voice is just gorgeous and i love what she did with the song
monsieur warnings was great
and the spy javert?? excellent scene. “SHOOT THE BASTARD” great work gav
they said “incoming!” instead of “there’s a boy climbing the barricade!” which i think was more fitting tbh
yeah so eponine got shot and little fall of rain nearly broke me
grantaire was holding gavroche back :(( my heart
AND WHEN SHE DIED HER HAT CAME OFF AND GAVROCHE HANDED IT BACK TO MARIUS OH MY GOD
drink with me had no right to be that emotionally devastating
grantaire was angry and enjolras tried to comfort him but he pushed him away :((((
on the upside tho whoever it was that sang the line about witty girls who went to their beds then got slapped by the witty girl it was directed towards lmao
OKAY SO bring him home!!!!!!!!! NORMALLY i really don’t like this song it feels a bit like torture to me BUT!! MR JON ROBYNS MADE IT SO GOOD, I WAS HANGING ONTO HIS EVERY WORD AND IT WAS JUST BEAUTIFUL
also the staging was great he was sitting on the barricade above sleepy marius
it was just generally great and the old man sitting near me audibly said WOW when he started singing
okay now it’s time for the deaths
FIRST OFF gavroches death was...... harrowing. he made it back to the top of the barricade before he died. when he got shot there was like a blood effect and i was just,,, shook tbh
now the other deaths
hoooooly shit
enjolras died first and i was not prepared AT ALL so i just started sobbing
everyone else died and grantaire was last f
it was super sad and i was crying basically the whole way through this bit lmao
jvj + marius -> sewers
BUT FIRST the bit with enjolras dead hanging off the cart!!! oh no!!!!!! the tears!!!! and when they picked up gavroche and put them together i just,,
yep
okay now dog eat dog
don’t like this song much but it served its purpose in distracting me from my tears by suddenly pulling teeth out before my very eyes
thanks thénardier
back to the surface! it’s javert! speaking in third person again! he’s very unhinged now which i like, hair all loose and everything
oh god the soliloquy i just,,,,, oh god, the staging of this was amazing but i won’t spoil it :))
TURNING YES IT WAS ALL I COULD HAVE HOPED FOR
empty chairs… oh marius baby he looked so broken, and all the candles were great as ever
oh marius whatever will we do with you
not to worry cosette is here to make it all better with her amazing voice, and her weird dad to make it all worse again with a criminal record
huge brick!marius energy here, very much passive until valjean told him to be angry lmao
THE WEDDING!! IT WAS SO SWEET! cosette’s dress was gorgeous
the thénardiers were great here as well, mrs thénardier was eating snacks the whole way through the bargain with marius
and marius punched thénardier in the stomach
i also cackled very loudly when mrs t tried to pass off stealing the silver as a magic trick
valjean kicked the bucket in the most stunning way he could have tbh
and of course the reprise of dyhtps had me in tears as always
amazing
just amazing
STAGE DOOR
added bonus: i got to chat to and get autographs of a few of the cast at stage door
they were all lovely!! carrie, shan, ciaran, harry, lily, jon, loved ya
also harry had a cut on his hand and someone asked how he’d got it and he said “i wish i could say it was on the barricade, but i cut it on a can of baked beans” and if that’s not the most in character thing ever i don’t know what is.
okay intense summary over hope u enjoyed

SkyFire 1: Chapter 15
Rori in Manchester: May 2014
Word count: 2.3k
SkyFire 1 MASTERLIST
>Instagram posts
◊Harry: good luck with your final exam this afternoon. I know you’re gonna crush it, love. H
Aurora smirked at her phone as she read Harry’s text. She had actually finished her exams two days ago but had told Harry that she had one more today which is why she couldn’t make it back to the UK in time for the bands Manchester shows. He’d floated the idea months earlier, wanting her to meet his mum, stepfather and his sister. When she’d told him that her exams didn’t finish in time for her to make it to the show, they had made a new plan for his family to travel down to London for the shows the following week and Aurora would fly in to meet them before joining the band on the European leg of the tour. Unbeknown to Harry, Aurora was currently at the airport, waiting for the StarkJet to depart for Manchester airport. She would arrive on the day of the first of two shows in Harry’s home city and she was excited to surprise her boyfriend and finally meet his family.
Once the jet finally touched down at the airport, Aurora took a cab to the stadium. Before she climbed out of the cab, she quickly pulled her long dark hair back in 2 braids, covering her eyes with a large pair of sunglasses and tugging a baseball cap down low over her brow. She joined the queue forming outside the venue, chatting with some of the fans already in line, smirking when none of them realised who she was at first.
Eventually a few of those standing closest to her in the line recognised her but she shushed them and swore them to secrecy. “I just want to experience the show like any other fan,” she told them. “If you want, we can take some selfies together, but could you wait until tomorrow to post them?” They’d agreed and she had enjoyed spending the majority of the day chatting away with them while they waited. When the doors finally opened, Aurora ran with her new friends into the venue, staking out their position against the barricade next to the catwalk section of the stage about halfway along. Once the lights dimmed for the start of the show, Rori finally took off her baseball cap and pulled her hair out of the braids, combing her fingers through them and tossing her hair back over her shoulders.
Aurora was euphoric as she felt the energy of the crowd surrounding her and the music blasting from the speakers. The entire stadium felt electrified and she felt a grin splitting her face apart as she screamed along to the song. In that moment she felt as if she had been transported back in time, she was suddenly the 15 year old standing in the crowd of the X Factor live tour with her best friend and their mums, screaming along to the same 5 boys, only now she was 19 and it was no longer Liam that held her attention. She hadn’t been able to look away from Harry since the moment he’d stepped out on stage and her heart soared to see the pure joy on his face as he danced across the stage with his 4 best friends, his brothers, singing his heart out to the sold out Manchester crowd.
As the final notes of Rock Me played out she took a deep breath, running her fingers through her hair to push it back out of her face as sweat beaded across her body from the dancing and the swelling crowd surrounding her. She was leaning against the barrier and looked up with a goofy grin, watching Harry and the other boys walking back towards where she was standing as Niall spoke to the screaming girls about the upcoming song. By some stroke of luck, as Harry took a seat on the central apparatus built into the stage he looked out over the crowd and spotted her standing only a few metres in front of him, freezing in place in shock as their eyes locked. The girls around her started screaming hysterically in response to his stare and she shot him a cheeky grin and a little wave that caused a huge grin to break out across his face, exposing his dimples. ‘What are you doing here?’ he mouthed, to which she replied by shouting back a joyful, “Surprise!”
He shook his head in bafflement, blowing her a kiss as the music began to swell and Liam sang the first lines of Don’t Forget Where You Belong. His eyes kept returning to hers as the song continued and every time he saw her singing back at him, his smile grew impossibly bigger. At the end of the song they once again locked eyes and he mouthed the words ‘I love you’.
The concert continued on with Rori having an incredible time, letting herself pretend she was just another fan in the crowd, screaming along to her favourite songs, but every so often when he passed by her section of the crowd, Harry’s smile would grow and he would throw a wink or blow a kiss in her direction, causing those around her to meltdown and swoon at their idol. Half a dozen songs after he first spotted her, all 5 boys returned to the raised section of staging and Harry sat himself down directly in front of her, with Niall sitting to his left with his guitar. The young couple locked eyes as Zayn sang the opening lines of Little Things. Aurora’s eyes grew damp with unshed tears while Harry sang out, “You’re perfect to me,” as he stared into her eyes and the tears spilled down her cheeks as she sang back along with him, “I’m in love with you and all these little things.”
It was much later in the concert, towards the end, when things changed. The smiles, winks and kisses that Harry had been directing towards his girlfriend all night had the fans surrounding her riled up into such a frenzy that during Story of My Life they all began to push forwards towards the stage, causing those against the barriers to become crushed against the metal. Louis noticed the problem moments before the nearest security guard, immediately signalling to the band to cut the music and drawing the security teams’ attention. “Is everyone alright down there?” he asked, his accent thickening with his concern for the fans. The other boys turned towards Louis trying to catch up to what was happening, and the moment Harry noticed that Louis was standing in front of Aurora’s section of the crowd he sprinted across the stage towards her, panic clear on his face. By the time he reached Louis’ side, the security guards had already managed to pull several of the girls over the barriers and Louis was instructing the fans behind to calm down and stop pressing forward. Rori quickly joined the few fans standing between the barriers and the stage and as soon as she was out of the crush she looked up to find Harry crouching down on the side of the stage in an attempt to get closer to her without leaving the stage and causing a bigger crush from the crowd. “Are you alright?” he yelled in concern, visibly relaxing when she nodded and smiled reassuringly back. He stayed kneeling at the edge of the stage until the situation had been sorted and just before Rori was ushered away to a different part of the crowd, Harry signalled to the guard by her side to wait. By the time he jumped down from the stage, a camera had already been tracking the situation and a large percentage of the crowd was already aware that the girl with the black hair was in fact Aurora Stark, so when Harry swept her into his arms the crowd around them erupted into screams with the confirmation of the rumours that the two were dating. He turned to the waiting guard as they pulled apart, insisting that he make sure she was taken backstage to watch the remainder of the show in safety before he quickly climbed back on to the stage.
After the show, Harry rushed to his girlfriend's side, pulling Aurora into a hug and spinning her around as soon as he reached her. “I can’t believe you’re here,” he yelled excitedly. “I thought I wasn’t going to see you for another week.”
“Surprise,” she giggled, gripping his face in her hands and kissing him deeply. “I missed you.”
“God, I missed you,” Harry sighed. “OMG are you ok?” he gasped suddenly remembering the crush in the crowd.
“I’m fine,” Rori assured him. “Although I feel bad about the rest of the fans that caught up in it all though. It was kind of stupid, now that I think about it.”
“But very romantic,” Harry said. “Everyone’s allowed to make mistakes. I’ll check with security in a minute and make sure everyone’s ok.”
“The secrets out about us now I guess,” she murmured. “Sorry.”
“Never apologize,” Harry replied. “This was a wonderful surprise and we were going to announce it next week anyway so who cares. I’m just glad you’re here.”
xXx
Aurora’s knee bounced nervously as the van pulled up out the front of Harry’s family home. He reached across to place a comforting hand on her thigh, stilling the anxious movement. “Just be yourself,” he whispered in her ear as the other boys climbed out of the van. “They’ll love you; I promise.”
The couple climbed out of the car, joining the other 4 boys as they walked towards the front door of the house. Harry squeezed his girlfriends’ hand in his while Liam knocked on the door. Anne threw open the door with a wide smile, welcoming the boys into her home. Harry bounded forward, sweeping his mother into a bruising hug. “So good to have you home, love,” she murmured into her sons’ curls.
“Brought someone to meet you,” he said, pulling back from the hug and Anne’s eyes widen as he reached back, taking Aurora’s hand and pulling her to his side.
“Aurora. I thought we wouldn’t be seeing you until next week in London,” Anne said in surprise before hugging the young woman warmly. “It’s so lovely to have you here. Come on in.”
Harry threw a smirk towards his girlfriend, his expression clearly saying, ‘I told you so’. She rolled her eyes in response, following Anne into the front sitting room where the rest of the band was already crowded onto the sofas with Gemma and Robin joining them.
“How about I chuck the kettle on?” Anne asked the room. “Who wants a cuppa?”
“I’ll come give you a hand,” Rori offered, earning her a smile from Harry. He kissed her cheek before heading over to hug his stepfather and then throwing himself onto the sofa beside his sister. Rori followed Anne into the kitchen and watched as the older woman filled the kettle under the tap and then put in on to boil.
“I take it you surprised Harry by flying in a week early?” Anne asked once she turned away from her task. “I’m sure he was thrilled.”
“He was,” Rori said with a smile. “I couldn’t wait to get here.”
“I’m glad you are. He’s told me a lot about you. Hasn’t shut up about you really.”
Rori’s eyes widened and Anne chuckled. “I’m sure you already know this but he’s quite fond of you, love. You’ve made quite the impression.”
“I’m pretty fond of him too,” Rori admitted. “You raised an incredible man.”
“Thank you but trust me, he made it easy for me.”
“I was nervous to meet you,” Aurora admitted with a small chuckle. “I should have known you’d be so welcoming.”
“From everything Harry’s told us, I knew that you’d be a wonderful woman,” Anne said. “We’re excited to have you join the family.”
“Thought I’d come make sure everyone was playing nicely together,” Harry interrupted with a cheeky grin. He crossed the kitchen quickly, stopping behind Aurora and wrapping his arms around her shoulders.
“I was just about to tell Aurora here all of your most embarrassing childhood moments,” Anne told her son, laughing loudly when he replied with a groan and hid his face in Aurora’s shoulder.
“Not to mention all the baby photos I need to see,” Rori joked, grinning widely at Anne as Harry complained about bullying.
They stayed at the Twist house for the rest of the afternoon before the boys headed back to the city for soundcheck and preshow preparations. Aurora stayed behind after Anne and Robin offered to give her lift when they headed in for the show later in the day. Despite only having spent a few hours with Anne, Robin and Gemma, Aurora found herself fitting into the family dynamic easily. She hadn’t realised how starved she had been for a maternal figure in her life until Anne had welcomed her with open arms. Her own mother had only been gone for 3 and a half years, and while no one would ever replace Louise, Aurora found herself comforted by Anne’s presence.
When they arrived at the arena that evening, they were escorted backstage and found the boys in the green room. Harry was quickly at her side as soon as they entered, his dimples flashing. “How was the rest of your afternoon, love?” he murmured in her ear, wrapping his arms tightly around her torso.
“It was great,” she said. “I love your family.”
“Knew you would,” he replied.
Unlike the previous night’s show, Aurora watched the second show from the side of stage with the rest of Harry’s family, dancing with Gemma to their favourite tracks. Following the show, Harry and Aurora headed back to the hotel with the rest of the boys and in the morning Rori joined the band as they travelled north for a midweek show in Edinburgh before heading to London for 3 shows at Wembley.

Burn The Candle At Both Ends Ch 7
AO3 Link
The situation was so comical, Dabi could laugh. He leaned against your closed door, locking it slowly. You had turned your dining table over, using it as a barricade between you both. It hurt to see you so defensive, but this was riding on a level of ridiculousness. "Wanna tie me up too?" his sarcastic remark was met with annoyance. "You could break through them anyways" you muttered. That was true.
Dabi slid to the floor, letting his legs stretch out across the floor. "Are you really afraid of me?" he asked. You hesitated, fingers tightly gripping the hard table. "I can't help but be tense, start explaining..." you didn't want to admit it. Just as much as him, it hurt you to feel this way. You heard Dabi sigh, covering his eyes with his hands.
"So, there is an asshole who can make clones of others" Dabi began. He explained that the clone acted like him but had no memories of you. Whatever the clone had said and done was not Dabi. "Had I known you were there, I would've been more careful" he admitted bitterly. A brief silence passed, he felt relieved that you didn't start screaming at him. However, what you said next put him on edge.
"But you would've still attacked the office" you confirmed. Dabi waited a moment before agreeing. "You said you were in a gang, the news called it a Villain attack, what is the truth Dabi?" you looked over the table at him. After the attack, a few witnesses were able to report the villains in the attack. You avoided hearing the names, you wanted the truth from Dabi. You felt your stomach tighten as he stared at you. For once, his blue eyes looked lost.
"I'm a villain, affiliated with the League of Villains to be precise" Dabi confessed. It was odd how a few words could change so much. On one hand, Dabi felt a weight lift off him. On the other hand, he felt anxious about your reaction. His mind replayed his nightmares of rejection. He calmed himself, all he could do was accept it. He chose to be a villain, he had no right to complain.
"Was it all an act then?" you question came out so faint he crooned his head to hear it. You doubted him, he expected as much. He could already tell you had some insecurities, but to think you doubted him hurt a bit more. "No, I already told you I am here because I want to be" Dabi replied. He saw you duck back behind the table. He half expected you to fling a knife at him. Dabi waited patiently, unaware of you trying to calm your racing heart.
You needed to focus, he was a villain. All your life, you had been warned of villains. Dabi had come off as a bad boy, but a villain was more serious. You peeked back over the table, flinching under Dabi's tired gaze. "How can I trust you?" you blurted out. The silence between you both was smothering. After a while, Dabi chuckled dryly. "I guess you can't" he sounded wounded to you.
Taking a deep breath, you stood up. "Get up" you ordered. Dabi slowly rose to his feet, staring at you curiously. "C-come here..." your voice faltered slightly as he approached you. He stopped right before you, he could see you were shaking. "Activate your quirk, your left hand" your eyes stayed glued to the floor. You felt Dabi sigh and heat up his hand. You carefully grabbed his hand, admiring the blue flame. Dabi remained quiet, he wasn't sure what you were thinking.
You raised his palm up, meeting his eyes. Without a warning, you pressed his palm to your face. You felt a brief sting of heat before a dull warmth spread across your cheek. Small flickers of flame fell from his palm, you stared into Dabi's now wide eyes. "Are you insane?! What if I hadn't-" "But you did". You had cut Dabi off, but he still appeared agitated. "You put it out, you wouldn't hurt me" your hand cradled his hand against your face.
"Still, that was unnecessary..." Dabi felt his anger slipping away. Your eyes, they looked the same as that night. He realized that was how you could trust him. "So reckless..." he muttered under his breath. His hand pulled you closer, allowing him to wrap his arm around your waist. "You could've just told me to leave" he whispered into your hair. "But I didn't want to" you replied against his chest. You felt the vibrations of his chuckle. "I didn't want to go anyways" he admitted.
You both shared a moment together. This time, the silence felt welcoming. You heard Dabi hum, you nuzzled into his chest. "I still can't agree with you being a villain" you broke the silence. "I figured as much" Dabi's dry laughter echoed in your apartment. "But, I think we can make it work" you felt Dabi relax, he let out a long sigh. "Why don't you tell me more about your work? My 'work' is a real mood-killer" Dabi loosened his hold on you.
You nodded and led him to your couch. You had intended to sit next to Dabi, however, he pulled you into his lap before you could sit. Your legs rested across his lap, allowing you to rest your head on his chest. "Well, I just keep track of Hero activity for the ranking at the end of the year" you began. Dabi hummed for you to continue. "I was assigned to the Pro-hero Endeavor, he's the most difficult to work with" you sighed feeling the grey hairs rise just from mentioning him.
"Endeavor?" Dabi repeated slowly. You nodded, raising so you could see his face. "I only deal with his sidekicks, apparently I'm not good enough for a face-to-face meeting" you watched as Dabi's jaw tightened. "It's best you don't get involved with that kind of guy" he warned. You could sympathize with Dabi, you weren't exactly a fan of Endeavor. "He deserves to rot, everything he's built should crumble, his prideful flames need to be extinguished..." as Dabi muttered, his grip on you tightened. When it became too painful to bear, you let out a yelp. "Dabi, you're hurting me" you gasped.
His hands released you immediately, falling to his sides. "Sorry" he muttered under his breath. The room felt tense again, it was obvious Dabi didn't like Endeavor. Although, not at the same level you did. "Since you nearly killed me, I should be able to request something of you" as you finished, Dabi turned his head to you in astonishment. "I already said sorry, nevermind, what do you want?" Dabi rolled his eyes and waited for your demands. You shifted on his lap, placing your knees around his waist.
You placed your hands on his chest, tugging at his shirt. "I want to see you, all of you" your voice came out just above a whisper as you asked. "Hmm? Didn't quite catch that" Dabi chuckled leaning his head closer to you. You could feel his breath on your neck as he waited for you. "I-I said I want to see all of you" you repeated louder. Dabi sighed, nuzzling into your neck. "You are persistent, I'll give you that" he smirked. His hands went to your waist, rubbing small circles with his thumbs. "On one condition, don't ask about my burns" he pulled away slowly.
Dabi leaned back, waiting for you to take the initiative. Of course, he wasn't going to make it easy. You ushered his out of his, in your opinion, ridiculously long coat. You tossed it over the couch, it could be dealt with later. Your fingers trembled as you grasped the hem of his shirt. On top of being curious about his burns, you were anxious to see Dabi naked. You've seen naked men before, no problem. But this was Dabi, it felt more intimate when it was him. "C'mon, unwrap your gift already" Dabi snickered as his hands ghosted over yours. He led you into pulling his shirt up, teasing you with the sight of his love handles.
"I can do it" you shook Dabi's hands off and narrowed your brows in focus. It was surprising how powerful one article of clothing was. You lifted the shirt higher, prompting Dabi to raise his arms. You watched as pale skin was disrupted by dark purple. You stopped, taking a moment before continuing. You lifted the article over his head, examining some dark splotches peeking from his sides. "Take a picture, it'll last longer" Dabi sighed. He leaned his head back on the couch, exposing his neck. You already knew about that long burn, but to see his body littered with so many. "You..." you weren't sure where to begin.
"Ah, ah, no questions remember?" Dabi tilted his head to peek at you. "There's plenty more underneath too" he rolled his hips upward. The motion made you rise and fall with his hips. You felt him grind into your backside, cheeky bastard. "I think you are the one who wants me to see you naked" you scolded Dabi. He only laughed, resting his arms to his sides. You shimmed off his lap, falling to your knees on the floor. Dabi peeked down at you as you worked on his pants. He tried to quell the desire to force you to take his cock into your mouth. You peeled away from his pants, letting them bunch at his ankles.
Dabi's legs had a few patches of dark purple, not as many as he did above the waist. You stood in front of him, drinking in his form. "Aren't you going to remove this?" Dabi tugged at the waist of his underwear teasingly. You cocked a brow, smirking down at him. "I've already seen that so I'm in no rush" you teased. Dabi's mouth hung open incredulously. "You little shit, don't even think you can blue ball me" Dabi pulled you back onto his lap roughly. Your hands caught the top of the couch, holding you over Dabi. You felt him kiss at your exposed collar, trailing just below your jaw. His hands slid down to your ass, groping you through your jeans.
"Don't you think it's unfair I'm the only one naked?" he hummed against your skin. You shuddered, moving your hands to your shirt. Dabi pulled back and waited for you to remove your shirt. Once the article was over your head, he pressed hot kisses under the lining of your bra. "I'm thinking of marking up your body myself" Dabi nibbled on the rolls of flesh before your abdomen. "Just not where I can't cover" you sighed as you carding your fingers through his spiky locks. "Boo, no fun" Dabi pulled his head back and raised his hands to your waist. His fingers made quick work of your jeans, leaving you in your underwear.
"Now we're even" your hands left his hair and cupped his face. Your fingers traced over the purple burns carefully. "Don't get all sentimental on me now" Dabi chuckled placing a quick kiss on your lips. "It's difficult not to..." you pulled him closer for a longer kiss. Dabi's teeth nipped at your bottom lip, tugging it downward for you to open your mouth. You complied, allowing his tongue to slip in. You tugged away to take in a deep breath. "Where's my girl that only wanted to screw me huh?" Dabi kissed along your jaw while you inhaled much-needed oxygen. "She's still here, she just also gives a damn about you" he smirked as you pulled him into another mind-blowing kiss.
Dabi raised his hips to rut against yours. The friction was apparent, making you wonder if your panties were even still on you. Dabi's rising boner brushed against your opening, causing you to pull back with a moan. "Already? I haven't even touched you yet" Dabi taunted. Dabi guided you off his lap, laying you down on the couch. He climbed on top of you, rubbing his clothed erection along your clothed opening. The harder he got, the harder it was to keep your voice down. When the tip 'accidentally' pressed against your opening, you let out a shaky gasp.
"Huh? Getting off on just that are you?" Dabi halted his movements, resting with his hard-on pressed against you. "Dabi please, no teasing" you hissed as you rose your hips to grind against him. Dabi snaked a hand up your stomach tugging the bra upward. His hand fondled one breast while his mouth occupied the other. He placed kisses along your breast, lips tightening around your nipple when he came across it. You heard him suck and slurp as his tongue trailed saliva across your chest.
By now, your thighs were drenched with your juices, causing Dabi's erection to slip between your thighs with each movement. You could feel him hot and hard, pulsing against your skin. "Hurry..." you whined, squeezing your thighs together. Dabi backed away with a strangled groan. He reflexively thrust against your thigh. That wasn't nearly enough, he needed the warm cavern of your pussy to satisfy him. "I got it, stand by the balcony while I get one" Dabi commanded as he left you. His absence left a cool feeling, making the room colder than it really was. You watched Dabi go behind the couch to his coat, which probably had his condoms.
You stood near the screen door of your balcony, curtains drawn. You perked up when Dabi returned to you, the rubber casing on already on his dick. "Let's put on a show" Dabi smirked as he turned you around. You braced yourself against the glass. He quickly pulled the curtains back, revealing the dark outside. Before you could protest, Dabi burrowed two fingers under your waistband. You clenched your teeth as he stroked along your folds. A finger slipped in, shallowly pumping into you. A gasp escaped your lips as leaned forward more, your face pressed against the glass. "Don't fall now" Dabi's playful voice rang in your ears. He leaned over your back and kissed your neck.
When he added another finger, your knees buckled. Dabi clicked his tongue and slipped his leg between yours to prop you up. You panted against the glass, your body becoming impossibly hot. "No more please" you moaned, grinding on his leg. "Have some respect for our audience" Dabi chuckled as he removed his fingers. The tugged down your soaked panties, tossing them to the floor. You began to push off the glass, but Dabi gave your ass a rough slap. "No way, you were moaning so much before" Dabi growled holding your ass in place. You felt him press against your opening, the head of his cock coating in your fluids.
"Don't act like you don't want anyone to watch" Dabi filled you up in one thrust. You didn't have a chance to catch your breath, he began pounding into your core relentlessly. His balls smacked loudly against you, emphasizing that deep penetration feeling inside you. It felt hot but filling as his dick entered. You felt his fingers trail up your spine, unhooking your bra. The force of his thrusts pushed you forward, your breasts pressed against the cool glass. Your body rocking against the glass and the thin sheen of sweat on your body had you grasping for leverage. "Ha? You look like you could use some air" Dabi laughed as he opened the door. You stumbled forward, unsheathing Dabi as you braced against the railing.
The outside air did feel better, your nipples hardened from the cool air. But you could hear the city, see the lights of the other apartments and hear the people out on the street. "N-no!" you tried to back up but Dabi grabbed your ass roughly. He rubbed himself along you again, rocking his hips into your ass. "I won't put it in unless we do it out here" he warned. You bit your lip, while you could get off from just him rubbing you, it wouldn't be enough. You rocked yourself back into him, trying to line his cock to your pussy. "That's my girl" you hear Dabi chuckle.
He plunged back into you, causing your body to jut forward. A breathless moan ripped from your throat as you tried to hold yourself in place. Each thrust lurched you forward, the intensity of Dabi's movement's made you see stars. The lights became blurs as you tried to bite down your moans. Even if you were quiet, the audible sounds of your fluids smacking against skin was a giveaway. You watched as some high school boys walked by, talking loudly. Dabi leaned over, watching them as well.
By the time you felt his hand, it was too late. He pinched your bundle of nerves, rolling it between his index finger and thumb. You moaned loudly, leaning over the rail slightly. The boys looked up, exclaiming loudly. They hurried down the street, glancing back rapidly. "Those brats are probably still virgins" Dabi snickered releasing your clit. You were at the end of your rope. You had to admit, it was hot watching those boys become embarrassed and horny from you. "I'm..so c-close" you warned Dabi.
He tugged you back, falling to the floor with you in his lap. You didn't believe he could reach deeper, but this new angle had you gasping loudly. Dabi thrust upward into you, maintaining his rapid pace. You were bouncing against him, his arms securing you in place as you both sought release. One of Dabi's hand clutched your breast roughly while the other moved back to your clit. You came loudly, not caring who heard you this time. Dabi worked through your orgasm, reaching his own release shortly after. The condom expanded inside you, leaving you empty as he pulled himself out.
Dabi tossed the condom aside, a sick slap as is hit the ground. He looked at your exhausted form, pulling you to his chest. "Probably not the best time to mention this but, you wanted a date right?" Dabi's voice was low as he spoke to you. He hummed when you nodded to confirm his accusation. "How about a nice night under the stars?" he jested.
"Dabi, if I could hit you right now I would"
"You know you love me"

Chapter 1: Mable and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
They’re coming for her. They’re going to take her away and they’re going to kill her. Open your fucking door and help me, [Y/N]!
Quickly, you throw the dishcloth onto the counter. With one glance out your window from the kitchen sink, you pause in confusion. It’s a sunny day out. No clouds. No rain. And most importantly, no murderous government agents running around the streets of Uptown New York.
“Slow down, Jeanie, what the hell are you talking about? Who’s ‘her?’ and who the fuck are ‘they?’”
Before you hear her voice through the phone, frantic knocking at your door cuts the conversation short. You hear your sister-in-law’s voice muffled behind it. “[Y/N], please! There’s no time!”
Taking a pistol hidden in the back of your knife drawer, you tuck it into your pants and rush to the entrance. You unlatch the four locks and swing it open, ready for a fight.
Only, it was just Jeanie and a bundle of blankets in her arms.
“Jean, what the hell –“
She shoves the bundle towards you and yanks open her purse, pulling out a suspiciously large amount of cash. Whatever is in the blanket is heavy and begins to wail. Realizing it was a child, your niece to be exact, you readjust your hold on her, bouncing ever so slightly to try to calm her down. You weren’t good with babies. You never had been.
Jeanie was panicking. She was wearing her pink nightgown, slightly torn and burned at the hem. Tears roll down her cheeks and her eyes widen as she realizes the weight of the situation. Without a moment to spare, she inserts the wad of cash into your front pocket and nervously glances down at her child.
“I love you, baby, I promise I’ll see you soon,” she whispers brokenly, giving her a kiss on the forehead. When Jeanie glances back up at you, her bottom lip shakes. “The family safe house. You need to go there now – everything’ll be clearer, I promise, but you need to get the hell out of here. They’re coming to take Mable away and I need her to be safe. You of all people would know how to –” she whips her head around, thinking she’s heard approaching footsteps. Pulling the door to hide you, she keeps it open just a crack to finish. “They know, [Y/N],” she cries. “They know about her, and I didn’t know who else to go to –”
Realization dawns on you and you hold the baby closer to your chest. “What about my brother?”
The haunting look behind her eyes makes your blood run cold.
They’ve got him. He’s gone.
And if you don’t act soon, so will you, Mable, and Jeanie.
You swallow quickly and nod. “I’ve got her. I’ll keep her safe.”
She smiles softly, sniffling back more tears.
A barrage of stomping pulls both of your attention.
“I can buy you time,” she starts.
“Jeanie --”
“Get the hell out of here, [Y/N]!” she snaps, slamming the door shut.
You don’t know what to do. You haven’t used your powers in so long, but you’re willing to try to save her.
Men shout on the other side and Jeanie laughs bitterly.
“You’re too late!” she announces, and from the slam, you can tell she’s barricaded the entrance with her body.
She was risking her life for Mable, and if you didn’t leave now, this would all be a waste.
Setting the baby down on the couch for a split second, you scramble over to the coat closet and pull out your emergency backpack. Very quickly, you shove the money inside along with your weapon. Whatever clothes that had already been packed will last you a few days,
Bam!
The sound of a gunshot rings through the air, and silence follows right after.
Your heart beats faster, throat closing and stomach twisting in nausea.
“Time to fucking go,” you growl, throwing the bag over your shoulder. As Mable begins to cry, you pick her up and make a beeline for the window.
Down below, you see black SUVs and armed men on the streets. As people grow curious, they point weapons in their direction and threaten them to take a step closer.
You could climb down and get shot, risk running back through the front door, or…climb.
Pulling open the window and slashing the screen with your pocket knife, you take a deep breath. “Certainly not what I wanted to do today,” you mutter, hopping silently onto the fire escape. Mable was making this difficult with her squirming and whimpering. You had no other choice.
“Alright sweetheart, it’s time to bounce,” you mumble, side-stepping away from the open window. At this point, the door has been busted open, and they’re closing in on you.
Distraction. You need a distraction.
Oh god, you hope that your powers don’t fail you now.
You focus on the police car parked a few feet away. Your head begins to spin a little, eyes water in pain. Focus. Focus. Focus. Mable begins to reach for you for comfort, a small cry escapes her lips. Yet, you can’t hear her. All is quiet for a few moments.
When you snap back into focus, the siren of the car blares loudly, lights blinking and coloring the ground. Then, it combusts into flames, sending the crowd of people scurrying in panic. It’s utter chaos below. Powerlines have been struck down as a result of your recklessness and you know that a few have been injured.
A man shouts orders to the guards, gesturing for them to follow.
As soon as they run towards the explosion, you bolt the opposite direction, climbing down one ramp at a time.
--
“Alright, sweetheart, time to bounce,” you mutter quietly, ruffling the girl’s hair. “You got your lunch money?”
Mable pouts, eyebrows knit in frustration. “I told you I don’t wanna go.” She grabs your hand to still it, preventing you from pulling away. “This isn’t fair!”
“Oooh, is someone starting to lash out? I didn’t think you’d still be going through puberty,” you smirk, fixing her loose scarf. “It’s seventh grade --”
“At a new school,” she grumbles. “Again.”
You ignore the statement, standing up to your full height and sighing in exasperation. “What’s the worse that can happen? They make fun of you because your name makes you sound like you’re ninety-eight?” When her face falls, you quickly shake your head. It’s been twelve years and you’re still not good at parenting. “Which isn’t true, obviously. All the cool kids are named Mable nowadays.”
“I hate you.” A small grin behind her words brings a bit of relief into your system.
“And I love you, I’ll see you after work, okay?” you laugh. Before she pulls away, you call out to her. “And remember --”
“Don’t talk to strangers and if I see a big guy in a uniform, run, I got it,” she deadpans, brushing you off. “Don’t you have crap to be doing?”
“Excuse me!” you shout. A passerby on the street looks your way. You know it seems comical that a grown-ass lady is yelling at a little girl who doesn’t seem fazed one bit. “Language!”
She only smirks, waving you goodbye. “You know, you and Captain America would be best friends!”
That cheeky little shit. You needed to start signing permission slips to opt her out of watching ‘Rappin with Cap.’
You watch her leave, her mittened hands shoved into her petticoat. She looks both ways before crossing the street, and you can’t help but feel a bit proud in that moment. If Jeanie were here to see this….
You frown.
You wish Jeanie were here to see this.
“Excuse me miss?”
You turn around to see a man with graying hair. He smiles kindly before taking his hat off. “Do you think you could point me to Centre’s Bookshop? I’m not from around here, but I heard it’s popular with the locals.”
You smile back, nodding in his direction. “It’s a little confusing. I can walk you there though since I’m headed in that direction.”
For a moment, his eyebrows shoot up. “Really? I appreciate that very much. I’ll try to keep up,” he jokes, following right behind you.
“What kinda books are you into, Mister….?”
“Pathlocke. Doctor Pathlocke,” he answers without missing a beat. He holds his briefcase closer to his side, clearly not fond of the tight sidewalks in the city. “And I need a few anatomy references for research and whatnot.”
You turn the corner onto a quieter road.
“Oh, that’s awesome! Are you a professor --”
When you turn around, he has his heavy briefcase lifted in the air. He sends you a menacing smirk before slamming a metal corner into the side of your head.
At first, you feel nothing, the shock overcoming your senses. You blink in confusion before your ear starts to ring and you see double. You press your hand against your temple, and when you pull it down to your face, you see the crimson red of your own blood.
“A professor?” he repeats calmly. “No, I’m a little more elaborate than that.”
You open your mouth to speak when he pulls something from his pocket. A syringe. He yanks the cap off with his teeth and sinks the needle into your neck.
It goes quiet. the world around you sinks. Soon enough, you're falling.
--
It’s the same, boring routine. No matter how many schools she’s transferred to -- and she’s been to quite a few -- it’s always the same. She really wishes she faked illness and got to stay home today.
“Class, this is Mable [Y/L/N], she’ll be joining us this year. I’d like you all to give her a warm welcome! Mable, do you wanna introduce yourself?”
She huffs in annoyance, messing with one of her pigtails.
You always said not to give away too much. There were bad people in this world after her, and she needed to lay low as much as she could. ‘Only the basics,’ you’d warn.
“I like Captain America,” she shrugs. “All superheroes, really”
“Don’t we all,” the teacher laughs, knowing that she’s had her fair share of fantasizing what life would be like if Steve Rogers strolled into her classroom one day. Of course, the kids didn’t have to know that. “Do you have any hobbies? Play any sports?”
‘The last time I played baseball, I got mad and broke a boy’s arm,’ she recalls. “Uhm...I like to draw...and watch TV. No sports.”
Her shy tone causes a few kids to snicker in her direction. Her face burns with red-hot embarrassment, but she tries her best to brush it off. “Can I sit down now?”
Not quite sensing her discomfort, the teacher shrugs. “Of course you can. And with that, let's begin today’s lesson.”
Mable likes to pretend she’s Charlie Brown from time to time. To her, the teachers sound like they’re constantly chanting ‘wah, wah, wah, wah.” If she told you, you’d be highly disappointed in her, but to be honest, she’s very good at winging tests. You’d never really find out about it.
Something breaks the white noise. The walls begin to tremble, the chalk on the board begins to clatter against the ledge. Her new classmates look around in utter confusion and she notices her teacher freeze in fear.
This wasn’t apart of the usual. This was odd.
The intercom turns on and the principal, trying his best to sound calm (but even Mable can hear the shake of his voice), calls out.
“This is a code red. Lockdown. I repeat lockdown.” He begins breathing heavy, shuffling heard behind the microphone. “Teachers, get your students to immediate --” His voice is cut off with a loud ‘wham!’ before all is silent.
Mable’s teacher is quick to yank down the blinds of her door, she looks around before ushering everyone into the back supply closet. “Everybody be quiet and stay down, please!” she demands, locking up all exits. She prays underneath her breath, and Mable’s heart begins to beat wildly out of her chest.
“What’s going on, Mrs.Hilde?” a stocky redheaded boy asks. He crosses his arms over his chest. “Can I go call my mom?”
Slamming behind the door causes everyone to jump and the teacher vehemently shakes her head, closing everyone inside the closet. She purposefully blocks the door with her body. “No. No one leaves this room until we’re cleared, okay? I need you guys to stay as quiet as possible!” she makes a “lock-and-key” motion over her mouth and silently begs the kids to follow.
“Open the fuck up! I know you’re in there! You’re hiding the girl!” a loud man shouts from outside.
Mable tears up, huddling against the far back wall. Her classmates pack together tightly, all eyes on their teacher for further instruction.
She feels an odd sense of deja vu, but she’s never experienced something like this before. Who were they and who are they looking for?
“Suit yourself...szhech' eto mesto.”
One last slam happens before footsteps come marching inside. Mable hears whimpering and sobbing from the kids around her. Still, she sees her teacher remain standing where she was, ready to give up her life if needed. It’s hot, insanely hot, and the bottom of the door lights up orange. For a moment, Mable’s teacher loses her composure, panic apparent in her eyes. “They’re gonna fucking cook us,” she chokes out, clenching her jaw. She needed to think fast, needed a game plan.
The high temperatures, nausea, and fear rolling off of the room create a terrifying stench like no other. It awakens something in Mable. She can stop this. She knows she can. Even with anxiety coursing through her veins, she stands from her spot, wobbling forward toward the older woman. “I can help, I can make them go away,” she whispers.
Mrs.Hilde has never seen such burning determination in a child’s eyes before, and she certainly didn’t expect to see it now, of all times. She shakes her head, smiling nervously. “I know you’re a strong girl, Mable, but this isn’t --”
“They’re in there!” another man outside shouts and the teacher bites down on her tongue, turning to face the door. She braces herself for whatever happens next.
But before they could open it, Mable steps in front of her, squeezing herself between the door and Mrs.Hilde.
“Mable! Stop --”
The lock is shot and the door is swung open, revealing a man clad in black. He aims his machine gun at the woman but then brings it down to Mable.
“There you are,” he snickers.
When the teacher reaching to pull Mable back, she’s pushed by the girl herself. Mable remains where she is, trembling but glaring murderous daggers up at the man. ‘When I see a big guy in a uniform, run,’ she mentally reminds herself, but something keeps her here, ready to fight. She’ll protect her classmates, and if not, she’ll die trying. It’s what you would be proud of.
“I’m gonna count to 3, sweetheart, and you’re gonna step out nice and slowly. We won’t hurt your friends in the pro --”
He flinches, choking on his own tongue. His breath grows rapid, staring down at Mable, whose eyes are now a wild magenta. He feels his gut twist and he cries in agony. “Y-you -- agh!” He coughs, a metallic taste filling his mouth. A bone inside him snaps, and it’s audible to everyone within a few feet radius. After a few seconds of struggling to breathe, he finally grows limp and falls to the ground.
Mable surveys the area and decides that the other soldiers are probably deeper in the school looking for their target. The classroom is now set ablaze and the building was beginning to collapse on its own. She notes the one door on the side that leads to the back parking lot. She turns, only to be met by a petrified closet full of classmates and her teacher.
“H-how….” her teacher squeaks, taking a large step back from the girl.
She sighs. Time to move to yet another school.
Unfazed by their terror, she takes a step out into the classroom. “You need to get everyone away, now, Mrs.Hilde,” she instructs. “Now!”
Hilde can argue with the crazy notion, but she’s seen enough strange shit today. She hurriedly commands everyone in the closet to follow her in an orderly fashion, trying not to gag at the dead body she has to pass on the way out.
Mable watches everyone head out, but something catches her eye immediately.
“Watch out!” She lunges forward, but it’s too late.
One of the ceiling beams screeches as it gives way, dropping quickly and slamming into a boy. He shrieks in pain as it pins his right leg to the ground.
Mable groans in frustration, running to him and barking orders for Hilde to continue on. “I’ve got him, go!”
“What hell do you mean, you’ve got him?!”
“You’re wasting time, Mrs.Hilde. I know what I’m doing!”
“This is fucking crazy,” she shouts, but yet another beam falls, this time, blocking her path to the two children. She gives one last look to Mable, who only smiles softly.
Oh, she’s so going to hell for this. Finally listening to Mable’s orders, she follows the rest of the class outside.
“I want my mom!” the boy cries, trying to pry the heavy material off of his leg. Mable stops him from straining himself further, shaking her head. “You’ll be okay…” she murmurs. In reality, she doesn’t believe her own words.
Where the hell were you? Surely, the news would have said something about this by now, and you being the raging mom who would walk through the depths of hell to protect her, well, you’d be here in a heartbeat.
Behind the crackle of flames, she can hear engines whirr and a cacophony of gunshots. She tries to muster up every bit of bravery and steps in front of her classmate to shield him just as her teacher did earlier. She broke a few bones of a man, she can break a few more.
“Everyone’s out, Steve, we’ve got them….all….” a voice echoes throughout the hall. Footsteps grow louder until they come to a screeching halt in front of the classroom entrance.
A tall bulky man stands with nervousness in his eyes. His mouth gapes slightly as he lowers his rifle and takes a step inside. Upon further inspection, Mable notices that his left arm is completely metal.
One of the bad guys, she thinks.
“Steve, scratch that,” he says into his earpiece. “There’s a kid here, I’ve gotta get her out.” When Mable holds up her hand to stop him, he breathes out a shaky sigh. “It’s okay, I’m not gonna hurt you, I promise,” he says softly. “My name is Bucky, I’m an Avenger.”
“You’re lying,” she mutters coldly.
Bucky glances past her shoulder and holds his breath when he sees a boy trapped underneath rubble. He’s got to admit that this girl’s got spunk sacrificing her life like this. Without hesitation, he drops his gun and holds out his hands in surrender. “I swear to you, I’m only trying to help. He’s going to bleed out if we don’t get him help.”
“I’m going to what?!” the boy yelps, squirming underneath and sobbing.
Bucky seems like a trustworthy man, but Mable takes precaution. She drags the gun away from Bucky, visibly struggling to hold it since it’s so heavy. Nodding her head over to the boy, she frowns. “Help him.”
Bucky doesn’t waste a second. He kneels down beside the beam, slips both hands underneath it, and lifts. His muscles bulge as he pulls it out of the way.
Mable had been too busy watching him to notice another presence entering the room.
“What took ya so long, punk?” Bucky grunts, dropping the beam. It lands onto the ground with a loud thump.
A man she’s seen before, Captain America, steps into plain view in all his spandex glory. He assesses the damage before pursing his lips. “Sorry, we were backed up by a few of them upstairs. You carry the girl out, I’ll help the boy. The paramedics should be here any minute.”
Mable can’t help but stare at her favorite hero in awe. She yelps in surprise, feeling two strong arms lift her up in the air. Instinctively, she latches onto Bucky’s shoulders, glaring up at him at the surprise. He merely grins down at her. “C’mon, let’s get you out of here, okay?”
She scoffs.
“This one’s feisty as hell, she unarmed me in a matter of seconds,” Bucky quips. Captain America merely rolls his eyes, leaving his friend to rescue the boy.
“Not my fault you’re weak,” Mable murmurs, lifting herself slightly in his arms to look over his shoulder and watch Steve Rogers at work.
She feels Bucky’s chest rumble in laughter. He’s out of the classroom in a few long strides. Captain America was now out of view, and what remains of her school’s hallway is revealed. Lockers are thrown open, a water fountain spews out water onto the floor, and what appears to be blood is pooled around.
Bucky hears the slight whimper coming from Mable as she stares at the wreck. He hugs her a bit closer, speeding up in his walk. “What’s your name?” he tries to ask in distraction.
She buries her face in the crook of his neck. “Mable,” she murmurs.
He hums in appreciation. “What a nice name. I knew a lady named Mable once. Made the best apple pies in Brooklyn.”
Mable looks up to ask him what the hell he’s going on about, but flinches when she sees someone down the hall. They’re wearing the same uniform as her earlier attacker. “Bucky, there’s someone coming!” she shouts, ducking her head and squinting her eyes.
Bucky’s quick to shield her with his metal arm. He holds her head close to his shoulder as he spins around.
“Fucking, shit,” he curses, seeing the HYDRA emblem on the soldier’s chest. He backs up quickly, scanning the area for cover, but the agent is already closing in. His gun’s out and aimed towards the two.
Mable can sense the absolute dread that makes Bucky’s stomach drop. When he tries to turn his back to the agent and pulls her head closer to the center of his chest, she resists and peers over his shoulder.
“Kid, what the hell --”
Mable’s eyes glow pink for the second time today. She feels her heartbeat pick up as she focuses on the sprinting form.
Within seconds, the form cries out in pain and slumps to the ground, his neck twisted in an uncomfortable way.
Bucky stumbles to a stop, looking over his shoulder in bewilderment and then back at Mable in realization.
She smiles weakly, her head feeling light.
“Holy fuck,” he mumbles, watching as her head hits his shoulder in unconsciousness.
