Say My Name
Wanda Maximoff x Fem!Reader Chapter 02/? Summary: You work all around at the local country club, to your advantage you flirted and used your beauty to get what you want, though with this certain woman your own way can't seem to work. Warning: This work contains smut and foul language, minors DNI!!
─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚.───
Days passed since your encounter with Wanda, you often ended up wondering when she is coming back, also, you cashed some of the money you got from Diana but you ended up placing a huge amount of it on your savings. You lay on your bed just taking your time by just thinking, simply shutting your eyes and allowing your imagination to run free.
“Such a good girl… I bet you're thinking of me the moment you saw me-”
You immediately opened your eyes when you realized where your mind was going, you couldn't help but let out a groan when all you could think about was Wanda Maximoff, her beautiful emerald eyes, the accent that she has, that damned smile. You took a couple more moments to get up when you sat up and decided to take a walk, though before you could even leave your bed the phone on your side table vibrated. Checking to see who caused the notification, you can't help but smirk to see it's a message from Diana.
It’s so boring here and all I can think about is you.
Miss me that much?
Not really, just want to sit on your face and ride your tongue.
I've got something to look forward to next week then.
As if you're not getting any pussy right now.
With the little bantering you had with Diana, all of a sudden you received another message from her and this time it's a photo of her, wearing an almost see through nightgown, her nipples were definitely poking against the clothing, she wasn't wearing a makeup yet you admit that she's like a living goddess. While you stare at the photo, your mind instantly traces back to the redhead you met a couple of days ago and you can't help but groan at the intrusive thoughts you've been having of the older woman.
You simply left a heart react on Diana's photo before sending a photo you once took with her, it was a mirror shot of you two, she was standing before the mirror while you're facing her lower region and from what you recall she did use your phone to take this photo, not even a second after she did the same by placing a heart emoji on your message.
Just as you exit your room, you see Yelena having some instant mac and cheese for breakfast. “I didn't know you were home.” the blonde says and you went to sit beside her after taking a spoon so you could steal some bites of her meal. “Yeah, I should be out and be coming home right now.” you say with a sigh and your friend couldn't help but raise her brow. “You're not getting laid? Are you and Prince official now?” She asked as if she really did think that you and Diana are something. “God no! Completely casual.” you said with a shrug. “Can't find anyone to match up with her.” you say before crossing your arms over your chest.
“Who?” Yelena asks, then you look at her unsure if you want to honestly answer your friend. “Your sister.” You teasingly say and the blonde immediately gagged the moment you mentioned her sister. “Eat shit.” she says then you couldn't help but laugh at her reaction. “Of course not, I wouldn't hit on your sister, her friend? Maybe.” you say then Yelena still hasn't put her brow down from being raised. “Carol? No… too masculine for your taste, so it's definitely Wanda.” she says so surely and you bit the inside of your cheek before nodding.
“She's married.” Yelena says which made you groan immediately, then you stole a spoonful of mac from her bowl. “Tell me more.” you say then the blonde paused for a moment to think. “I think she married Mr. Stark’s successor, his name's Jarvis but mostly known as the Vision.” you tilt your head confused with the nickname and then you let out a small ‘oh’. “So, she's rich-rich?” you ask once more then your friend nodded.
“To add another question, why didn't you mention to me you had a sister?” You ask wanting to push the subject further, as Yelena finished a spoonful bite of the mac and cheese she simply shrugged. “Not really relevant.” she says before taking another bite. “I'm doing a shift this lunch.” You say and you receive a nod from Yelena. “I'm not coming in today, I took a day off. I spent a whole week trying to get back what I spent on Fanny’s vet.” The blonde says then you looked at her, taking your purse and handed her a grand. “What? No, I can't take that.” Yelena says but you pushed it to her hands. “Please, I don't even know what to do with all the money that Diana gave me, I might end up buying coke.” you tease and it still took a little convincing but you made sure to let your friend take the money. “It's all good, I promise.” you say before taking another bite of the mac and cheese.
You got up and decided to postpone the walk you're going to take when you saw the time, heading back to your bedroom then you went to take a shower before getting ready for work, you didn't take that long but you made sure your precious body was pampered with the best products you could get, you put on your uniform which is the red polo shirt and matching it with a beige shorts.
Finally, leaving the house after getting everything ready, you ran towards the bus stop and hoped you didn't miss it, you were luckily just in time before the vehicle would leave. Getting to your seat, you were sat next to some stranger since there's no empty seat other than this one. “Quite a busy day isn't it?” The stranger spoke to you and you looked at this man. “Ah yes, guess it is today.” you kept your answer short so you wouldn't have to keep the conversation going, the unknown man only answered with a nod then you were left to mind your own business.
The moment you got dropped off to your stop, it was basically a walking distance from here but you're just in time to hear a familiar sound approaching you, as you put on your sunglasses so you wouldn't have to scrunch up your face because of the heat, you saw Bucky coming closer while on his motorcycle. “Hop on, doll, busy day today.” he says then you raise a brow and there's just something with men and start the conversation by stating that today's a busy day. “Why is that?” You ask as you got on the motorcycle and you held on to the side of his shirt. “I heard rumors that Mr. Stark might visit today, members would probably try and get on his good side.” he answered then he starts driving once more, leading the both of you to the club.
The moment you stepped into the place, it was more crowded than usual, everyone's in their own friend group, there's old men smoking cigars by the lobby, then there are the wives who are busy gossiping by the café, and there's Tony Stark himself, accompanied by his wife Pepper Potts. You went to walk past them since you're headed in the staff's locker room, you made sure to smile at both of your bosses before heading in the room to put your bag away and start to clock in.
You fix yourself once more then you make your way to the restaurant and have started your shift, it was awful, at least it was to you. You've had countless entitled people who are acting so snobby, then there are old ladies who wish they still had your youth here and there, and one table that certainly caught your attention was the group of three familiar women once again. You made sure to look twice just to be sure and you took note of their hair colors… one blonde and two redheads. You basically had to race your coworker to take the table and as you appeared before the three women, they all smiled at you, well, especially Natasha but that's because she knows you're Yelena’s friend.
“It's so nice to see a familiar face.” Carol commented before saying what she'll have for this lunch, Natasha pinched in what she's going to have, and as you were taking their orders you attempted to steal a glance from Wanda, though immediately looking back to your device when you realized that she was indeed staring at you. “And I'll have some Caesar salad… plus the scarlet cocktail, I loved it.” Wanda says before smiling at you, her eyes never leaving yours and then you finally take your cue to leave when you've gotten all their orders.
You went to take their orders to the kitchen, then headed to the bar to tell Bucky what the ladies will be having. “Oh, it's the three ladies again? Looks like you've reeled them in again.” he says before chuckling. “If I were you, I wouldn't want to hit that.” he commented which made you tilt your head in confusion. “Well, you think you're the only one who uses your pretty privilege around here? This face makes some pretty good tips.” Bucky says while he went on to prepare the drinks. “Heard that those three were pretty close with Stark, co-workers I think?” he says not too sure with the information he has gotten, after all he only gets them from the club members as well.
“You don't want your boss finding out you're banging his friends, wouldn't want to lose your job.” Bucky says then he finally handed you the drinks he made, and it was just in time when the kitchen rang you up. Quickly handling the trays you make your way to the ladies’ table, and you serve their meals and drinks. Receiving a genuine thanks from them honestly made your day better, you just appreciated the fact that someone is nice to you after serving a bunch of assholes, plus your little crush thanked you, and that's what makes it better. Just as you turned to leave, you bumped into a man who was holding a drink, surprised with what happened you instantly apologized before looking to see who it was.
You've seen this man's photo once but you can't quite recall who he is, it's obvious he's irritated, considering you just spilled a drink on his clothes. Though, to your defense it was a complete accident and you didn't intend to do so. “Do you know what you've done to my–” “Vis, let it go, it's an accident no need to cause a scene.” You heard Wanda speak and as you realize who this man before was none other than her husband. “I really am sorry, Sir.” you spoke before offering him more tissue and of course, the complimentary country club shirts. “Y/N, it's okay, you can go and do your thing, you apologized, you didn't mean it and it was an accident.” Wanda assured you when you turned to look at her as she defended you from her husband who isn't even speaking a single word but you could definitely feel his annoyance.
You mouthed “Thank you so much.” Before leaving and as you left, the janitor on duty was quick to mop up the drink that spilled on the floor, making your way into the locker room. You can't help but let out a sigh, then somehow you can't stop yourself from smiling when Wanda just stood up for you. Well, it's the bare minimum and this interaction usually happens in restaurants but still, you can't help but put on your smile once more before facing the crowd once again.
The hours felt so long and you were emotionally and physically drained from having to put up a smile, being so empathetic to arrogant assholes, so, when you clocked out, you walked to the parking lot. Remembering that Bucky doesn't leave work this early, you can't help but sigh remembering you'll have to walk alone without Yelena with you. Making your way to the sidewalk then you started to walk to the nearest bus stop, at first it felt peaceful until you felt that someone was tailing you. Speeding up your pace, the car also went to catch up with you, at this point you honestly thought your life was done. Maybe that was overboard but you're overthinking at this point. “Y/N! Hey! It's Wanda.” the voice says as she rolled down her window.
Finally, you stopped at your tracks and you let out a sigh of relief. “You scared me!” You say and the older woman couldn't help but laugh softly. “I didn't mean to, I promise. I only slowed down because I was trying to see if it's really you.” she says and you honestly can't believe you're conversing with her as if you two are friends. “Well, that's one way for kidnapping to start, honestly.” you teased and received a smile from her, it can honestly brighten up your whole day. “Hop in, let me drive you… wherever you are headed for.” She offered and you didn't really know if you should say yes or not until she insisted. “Please? Consider this as a way of making it up to you for my husband's behavior.” she added.
You made your way around the car and she unlocked the door, you sat next to her and she started driving once again. “It was an accident-” “I know, but he has this thing of making scenes and I'm pretty tired to put up with it.” she honestly spoke and your eyes widened for a second not expecting what you've just heard and you nodded your head. “You can just drop me off at the nearest bus stop.” Wanda looked at you for a moment and she raised a brow. “And let you get on a bus at this hour?” then you bite your lower lip unsure of what to say at this point, it's not that it's uncomfortable it's just plainly… awkward. And this doesn't happen with you and any person you plan on taking to bed, this simply happens because you have a crush on this person driving.
“Yelena knows me, if that's what you're worried about, I knew her the moment I met Natasha. She always brought her sister around and it's quite adorable honestly, so… what I'm saying is that you can trust me?” She spoke trying to break the ice between the two of you and you nodded your head. “I live with her, I mean I'm her roommate so if you do know her then I'm assuming you know where she lives.” you say and Wanda nodded her head, and as if it's on the back of her hand, she knew where the place was.
Just as you two were approaching the apartment, Wanda received a notification from her phone, as the screen lights up you saw her lock screen and it was a photo of the cocktail you served her when you saw her for the first time. You didn't want to read much on it but it certainly made your heart skip a beat. When she stopped right in front of the apartment building, you weren't too sure what to say other than thanking her. “I- uh- Thank you for the ride.” You say as you take off the seatbelt. “Are you usually this awkward?” She asks and you weren't able to answer because you know damn well you're never awkward. “I thought so, you were good with chatting up the guests and customers, and now it's just the two of us… you're all tongue tied.” she said then tilting her head trying to get a read on you, but you're sure as hell she knows that you have a little crush on her.
“Do I scare you?” “What? No! I mean you're just intimidating… that's all.” you quickly answer her question and she couldn't help but smile. “Whatever you say sweetheart.” she teasingly says. “I hope we get to talk more next time… and say hi to Yelena for me.” she says before you finally took the moment to get off the car. “I will, take care, Wanda.” you say before smiling at her and she did the same. “Have a goodnight, Y/N, dream of me.” she teased you once more before driving off. You quickly make your way into the apartment and you can't help but smile from one ear to another.
Entering the apartment, you see Fanny finally back home to welcome you, Yelena was nowhere to be seen but you don't mind getting a greeting from this furry companion, you go ahead to run your fingers across her fur then she follows you as you get into your room, just as you tossed your bag to your bed, you felt your phone vibrate once more, and it's from your best friend.
Went out to get some dog food, also, Fanny's back home so enjoy her company.
Enjoying her company much more than I enjoy urs, lol.
Ass.
You went to lay on your bed then you bite your lower lip, you were thinking of something and you’re well aware that what you’re about to ask your friend could be a beginning or a quick ending of something, but you’re never one to back out of a challenge, taking your phone once more and you decided to text Yelena once more.
Sooo… Do you have Wanda’s number or something?
I do but I don’t think it’s a good idea, lol.
Help a friend out will you? ;))
You’re going to take two of my shifts whenever I want, deal?
Deal.
With just that the next text message you got from your best friend was a phone number, you went to press it… fiddling your fingers unsure of what to say or why you asked for her number but you’re good at this part, and you went ahead to do your usual lines.
Hey Wanda, it’s Y/N, I got your number from Yelena… Hope you don’t mind.
You took a deep breath just thinking of possible scenarios that could happen, scenario one was Vision gets to see your message and you’re fired, second? Wanda blocks you, and three it was–
Hi! It’s completely okay, what’s gotten into you and asked your dear friend for my number?
Well, maybe I want to spend some alone time with you to show you that I’m not that awkward mess you picked up from the sidewalk.
Hmm, straightforward and bold… You’re aware that you're speaking to a married woman? Haha.
Well aware, Ma’am
Good, maybe I could drop by at the club tomorrow, will you be there?
For you? I would be.
Are you sure this is the same girl I picked up earlier?
100%
Wanda simply reacted to your message with a heart emoji and that was more than enough to make up for your whole night, you are eager about what can happen tomorrow. Honestly, all you can think is that if you bed this woman, this crush of yours would simply go away or maybe this could really be a start of something new. But, no, you don’t really care about that for now.

Close - chapter seven are we ready…
Summary - it’s readers birthday and Rhea gets them their dream gift and they have a party
tw ; drinking? Dirty talk? Brats?
Tumblr media
You woke up at the crack of dawn very excited for the day because it was your birthday , you weren't expecting much to happen , just to hang out with Rhea and your friends all day . Recently you have been making a lot more friends in the locker rooms like Charlotte flair and Alexa bliss who in turn had introduced you to bayley , Saraya and bianca and Iyo sky . When you finally adjusted to your surroundings you realised Rhea wasn't beside you like she usually was, she had been staying at your apartment a lot more recently so it was weird waking up without her when suddenly the smell of bacon and waffles came to you , you got up and got dressed and made your way to the kitchen to see Rhea standing there making you breakfast . She turned around to see you "happy birthday my love" you smiled at her "thank you dems" everything just felt right in that moment. No matter how simple it was the day just seemed perfect , life seemed perfect when you were with Demi.
After eating breakfast Demi told you to go get ready for the day and she told you to be ready to leave in 10 , you were very confused as you had not made plans for today but she took you to a restaurant and y'all had an amazing birthday  when she took you home you saw the back of a car you didn't recognise and when you drove past it and seen a big bow on front as you pulled into your driveway and Demi took you out of the car and lead you down to the one with  the bow "no , Demi you didn't" she had the biggest smile on her face "yes , y/n I did" you screamed and jumped into her arms and gave her a huge kiss "Demi I'm gonna cry how did u know it was my favourite car" "I asked liv at work, but why don't U take a look inside" u look at her confused and open the door to see a mass of presents that you had mentioned to all your friends or had seen online and saved to your wish list "dems no this is too much" you said as you turned to look at her . "Nothing is too much for you my love I would give u the whole world and the heavens if I could" you hugged her again "wanna take her for a spin" "a huge smile forms on your face yet again "do I?" You sarcastically reply and run to the drivers side "okay y/n but we have to be quick we are all going to the club later to celebrate" you lean over to the passenger side and kiss her "I love u so much" she blushes "I love u too"
*time skip*
When you arrive home with Demi you rush inside to get ready "woah , woah what's the rush" "I need to choose an outfit" "baby I bought you an outfit it's in the car with the presents do u want me to go get it?" "Yes please oh my god your a life saver" you continued getting ready by doing your hair and makeup while Demi went to get the outfit for you . When she walked back in you gasped , the dress was gorgeous and exactly what you wanted . When you were finished getting ready Rhea asked "your car or mine" "mine obviously" you replied
When you arrived at the club the girls ran up to you and gave u hugs and wished you a happy birthday , you hugged them all back and said thanks they got shots and after about 20 minutes you were all tipsy as you made your way to the dance floor while Rhea and the boys stayed at the table , after about another 30 minutes of dancing you went back to the table and asked Rhea to come dance with you " please baby come dance with me" " no y/n I don't dance" "please it's my birthday" you pouted "fine one song" you immediately perk up and drag her to the dance floor , you start swaying your hips to the music and turn around so your back is against her front as she rests her hands on your hips . You lift your arms to reach around to the back of her neck when she spins you so both fo your fronts are touching each other while you sway ,she lowered her head into the crook of your neck when the song ends , she goes to walk back to the booth when you grab her and start asking her to stay she replies with " I told you only one song" she smirks you start begging and acting like a bit of a brat tbh when she pulls u close to her and says in your ear " do I need to bend you over and show u who's boss or are you going to listen to me?" "I'll listen" when she pulls you up to the booth to get more shots with the girls and you sit on her lap drinking , an hour later you were basically blackout drunk as Damian and Rhea  carried you out to the taxi "Damian I have a question?" You asked slurring your words "yes y/n" "how do you say spoon in Spanish?" He tried not to laugh as Demi just didn't hold it in and burst out in a fit of laughter "y/n why do u want to know what spoon is in Spanish?" "I don't know I just like the word spoon so I thought if I know it in two languages I can like it twice as much" "spoon is cuchara in Spanish" he says smiling , Demi is still roaring with laughter when the taxi pulls up "byeeee damooo" "bye y/n ,  bye Demi" Demi still laughing says bye
*at home*
Demi got you changed into you pjs and layed you in bed and then changed herself and got in beside you , once you were visibly asleep she started talking to herself "so much for asking her to move in , I'll do it some other time but maybe this is a sign that we shouldn't are we ready ?" as she turned over to cuddle into you but little did she know you were awake

Dire: Chapter 9 - The Guilt
Word Count: ~6K
Warnings: Self harm, vomit, blackmail(mention), murder(mention)
Morning came far too quickly. Ace made himself breakfast and coffee, wanting a bit more time to himself before he checked on his mate. He was afraid of what state he might find her in so he wanted to let himself wake up a bit more first.
Eventually he mustered up the energy to go to the guest bedroom he’d locked Cyra in. He knocked first and called to her through the door but there was no response. He exhaled loudly, stressed out by the silence.
You better not be dead in there, he thought. He didn’t know how Cyra could have killed herself since the room was pretty bare, but the bitch could be creative.
Unlocking the door, Ace walked into the room and found Cyra sitting on the floor, knees to her chest, leaning against the bed frame. Her hair was drenched with sweat and she had a dazed look in her eyes. Ace immediately noticed that the blankets on the bed were untouched.
“Did you sleep?” he asked.
Cyra flinched when he spoke, as if she hadn’t noticed he was there. “Huh?” Her voice was hoarse and weak. She had obviously been screaming all night.
Ace crouched in front of her to assess her physical state. The circles under her eyes were darker than usual, indicating that she, in fact, hadn’t slept. His gaze moved down her body and stopped at her hands. He realized in horror that her usually long nails were now short nubs and a few of them were cracked and bloody.
“Oh my god, what did you–” Ace stopped mid sentence as he got up to look around the room for damage. Sure enough, when he checked the back of the door he found countless scratch marks all over the bottom half of it, along with a few dried blood streaks.
He wanted to yell at Cyra for fucking up his door but it would be pointless. She was being unresponsive and probably wouldn’t even comprehend it.
Ace closed his eyes and breathed deeply a couple times to calm himself down. Then he turned around to face the starlet again. “Get up.”
Cyra blinked at him a couple times, looking confused.
“Get up!” Ace repeated.
That time Cyra frowned and shook her head.
Ace made a frustrated noise and grabbed Cyra’s arm. He pulled her into a standing position and dragged her out of the room.
He brought her into the kitchen. After sitting her down at the kitchen counter he got her a plate of the food he made earlier.
“Eat,” he demanded as he placed the plate in front of her.
Cyra stared down at the food for a moment before moving to get off the stool.
“What are you doing?” Ace said, making her freeze. “I said eat.”
“I can’t.”
“Yes you can.”
“I feel sick.”
“I know, you stupid bitch,” Ace snapped. “I can feel everything you’re feeling so when you don’t take care of yourself it makes me feel like shit too. So eat.”
Cyra seemed unphased by his insults. That was strange. His harsh words usually either made her excited or angry but right now she wasn’t reacting at all.
“I’m sorry. I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“I just can’t.”
“I’ll fucking force-feed you if I have to,” Ace threatened.
Again, Cyra was unmoved. She looked up at him but her eyes were vacant. Then she got up and walked out of the kitchen to the living room.
Ace let her go, trying to think of what to do. He got a headache the instant they were in the same room again, the kind you got when you weren’t eating enough. Not only did he want that to go away, but he also knew that if Cyra neglected her needs it would only lead to more panic attacks. Which meant more inconvenience for him.
Being as patient as he possibly could, Ace got a cup of water and went to the living room where he found Cyra sitting on the couch. She was staring into space again.
“At least drink water if you’re not gonna eat,” Ace said.
“I don’t want to,” Cyra replied sheepishly.
“I don’t care what you want.” Fed up, Ace stood in front of the other beta and grabbed her jaw, tilting her head back in the process. He forced her mouth open and poured water into it. Some of the liquid dripped down the sides of her face and onto the couch. He then closed her mouth again and held it shut, waiting for her to swallow.
When she didn’t, he leaned down so their faces were less than an inch apart and glared at her. That seemed to work and Cyra gulped down the water.
“See? That wasn’t so hard,” Ace said. He placed the glass on the table beside the couch and checked his phone for the time. He hadn’t realized it, but almost an hour had passed since he got out of bed. He needed to be somewhere soon. “Drink the rest of that before I get back.”
“Where are you going?”
“I have a business meeting today. Try not to destroy anymore of my house while I’m gone,” Ace instructed. He really needed to get going. He’d wasted too much time trying to take care of Cyra.
“Can I have my phone?” Cyra asked.
“No.” Not having time to argue, Ace rushed to the front door, leaving Cyra by herself again.
~
Ace struggled to focus during his meeting. Getting away from Cyra at least made his headache go away, but he kept worrying about how long it might take for his mate to start acting normal again. He couldn’t send her home until she was back to her usual self, so as not to raise suspicion.
The events of the previous night had to stay between them. The best way to keep a secret was to make sure as few people knew about it as possible. The organization would make sure that there was no physical evidence left of Phoenix and Blank would make any information about his death and whereabouts virtually non-existent. All Ace and Cyra had to do was not tell anyone about what happened.
Unfortunately, that would be the most difficult part. Although Cyra was good at keeping other people’s secrets, she was still a sucker for attention and would do anything to get it. Even if it meant revealing her own secrets. She was the weak link, but Ace was certain he could get her to stay quiet. It would just take some work.
First though, he had to get her back to baseline. She couldn’t be acting erratically right after one of their enemies went missing. That would be a dead-giveaway.
~
When Ace got home, he found Cyra in the exact same spot he left her in. The glass of water was now half empty. That was good at least.
His meeting lasted a few hours and he stopped to get food afterwards so he’d been out for a while. It was worrying that Cyra had just been sitting there all day. When Ace pointed this out to her, she looked confused and asked the time.
He made more food that night and tried to get Cyra to eat again. She still refused but he managed to get her to drink more water.
It was like pulling teeth and Ace felt like they were getting nowhere. He went to bed frustrated. He decided not to lock Cyra in the guest bedroom again in case she decided to eat during the night. He threatened to destroy her phone if she tried to come into his room though.
~
Cyra looked even worse the next day. The circles under her eyes grew even bigger and darker and her skin was turning pale from lack of food.
Ace knew he had to do something soon. Cyra often stayed up for multiple days at a time, so she could handle that, but she never went this long without eating. If it got to the point where she needed to go to a hospital, they would be fucked. Ace tried not to think about it though.
First, Ace tried putting more food in front of the starlet. When that didn’t work, he tried threatening her again. Just like the previous day though, that didn’t do anything. He had to try a different approach.
“Are you trying to make me suffer?” Ace said, sitting on the other side of the kitchen table.
“What?”
“I don’t know how you’re not getting this, but I’ll explain it to you again. Because we’re mated now, when we’re close to each other I can feel whatever you’re feeling. So you’re making me feel sick by not eating anything.” It wasn’t quite as bad as Ace was making it sound, mostly just an annoying headache, but he needed to get through to Cyra somehow.
Cyra leaned her elbows on the table and put her head in her hands. “I’m sorry. I just don’t think I can.”
“You could at least try.” Ace frowned and folded his arms, trying to make her feel bad.
Cyra didn’t say anything, just stared down at the plate of food in front of her.
Ace sighed and stood up. He walked over to the fridge and poured a glass of milk. He made his way back to the table and placed the glass in front of Cyra.
“Drink this,” he demanded.
Cyra just looked up at him.
“If you can drink water you can drink milk,” Ace said.
Still not saying anything, Cyra picked up the glass and held it up to her mouth. She then winced and put the glass back down, shaking her head.
“For fuck’s sake, do I really have to do everything for you?” Ace said. He grabbed the glass. “Tilt your head back.”
Cyra shook her head again in protest. “No.”
Rolling his eyes, Ace grabbed a fistful of Cyra’s hair and pulled her head back. Cyra responded with a fearful whine.
Not wanting her to choke, Ace tried to think of a way to make her relax.
“Just close your eyes and imagine I’m cumming in your mouth. You’ve never spit me out before and you’re not gonna start now, right?”
That seemed to get through to Cyra. She reluctantly closed her eyes and opened her mouth. Slowly, Ace poured the drink into her mouth, trying not to worry about the excess that dripped down her cheeks. He’d have to clean her later.
Cyra swallowed the liquid bit by bit. Ace’s suggestion was obviously working.
Soon the glass was empty and Cyra opened her eyes again. “I can’t believe that worked,” she said.
“I can,” Ace replied. “Even when you’re out of it you still know what you’re good for.”
Cyra contorted her face in a weird way. She must have been trying to smile but it appeared to be challenging.
Ace turned around to go put the empty glass in the sink. He almost made it there before Cyra ran past him and leaned over to vomit onto the drain. She didn’t have time to pull her hair back so she ended up getting a bunch of it on herself.
Ace let out a salty groan and set the glass on the counter.
“Sorry…” Cyra said.
Not caring for a half-hearted apology, Ace grabbed Cyra and took her to the nearest bathroom. He turned the shower on and started undressing her. Thankfully he’d managed to get her changed into looser clothing the night before so it was easy to take off.
Cyra put up no objections until Ace forced her into the shower. “It’s cold!” she complained.
“If I make it hot you might faint,” Ace said. “Once you start eating again you can have a hot shower.”
Cyra whined and wrapped her arms around her chest, shivering. She just stood there as Ace washed her hair for her, like a well-trained dog getting a bath. At least she wasn’t fighting him, that would have made this whole ordeal so much worse.
Ace tried to work fast but the other beta soon began to shiver in the cold water, making it harder to wash her.
“Stop moving,” Ace demanded.
“But it’s cold,” Cyra argued.
“I don’t care.” Ace grabbed Cyra by the neck to keep her head still while he finished washing her hair. The rest of her body still shook, weak from hunger and the sudden temperature drop.
Once all the shampoo was completely rinsed from Cyra’s hair, Ace let go of her and grabbed the soap bottle. He lathered some onto a cloth and began to scrub Cyra unnecessarily hard. It was partly because he was angry with her for starving herself, but it was mostly an attempt to snap her out of this weird mental state she was in.
It wasn’t like Cyra to let something get to her so much. Sure, she’d never killed anyone before but Ace couldn’t have predicted that she’d have this big of a reaction to it.
Soon Cyra was back to Ace’s minimum standard of cleanliness so he turned off the water and pulled her out the shower. He toweled her off and had her sit on the floor in front of him so he could dry her hair.
It was strange to be in that position again. Ace remembered doing Cyra’s hair for her after showers around when they first met ten years ago. It felt like they hadn’t done this in forever.
“When I was your age I could already style my own hair,” Ace would tell her.
“I can style my hair,” Cyra would argue. “I just like the way you do it better.”
“You just want me to touch you.”
“Maybe…” Then Cyra would look up at him with that bratty, up-to-no-good smile that she always had.
Now Cyra sat in front of him, a 24 year old woman. Despite her age she looked small and frail. Just a grown-up version of that troubled kid he’d met a decade ago, abandoned by her family and living by herself in a big lonely house.
Ace hadn’t seen her smile in weeks and she was mostly unresponsive whenever he tried to have a conversation with her. It was frustrating. This wasn’t the Cyra who Ace had created. She was supposed to be the perfect little pet, but now she was acting like a broken toy. Ace couldn’t help but feel let down.
~
The next day, Cyra’s phone kept going off with texts and calls from her harem. It was getting annoying. Ace considered just turning it off but that might make them worry even more. At least if it was still ringing before going to voicemail it wouldn’t set off any alarms. Cyra’s harem always got angry when Ace turned her phone off and he didn’t have the energy to deal with that at the moment.
The constant buzzing was beginning to drive him insane though. He could have just left the room like he normally did but he didn’t want the phone out of his sight unless he was with Cyra. He couldn’t have her finding it while he wasn’t paying attention. To make matters worse, Cyra still wasn’t sleeping so Ace had to sleep with the phone next to him. He was awoken several times during the night by random calls, mostly from Prince and Jayce.
The phone began buzzing again while he was trying to find something to eat for lunch. He looked at the screen and saw that it was another call from Prince. Fed up and banking on Cyra still being upstairs, Ace picked up the phone and answered.
“What?”
“Oh so you have her phone,” Prince said.
“Yeah, so you can stop calling now,” Ace told them.
“Where’s Cyra?”
“She’s upstairs resting.”
“Let me talk to her,” Prince demanded.
“I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“She’s not in a good mental state right now,” Ace explained.
“So? She never is. Just let me talk to her.”
“I’m hanging up now.”
“Wait! Come on, Ace. You know you can trust me. I just want to make sure she’s okay,” Prince pleaded.
“Can I trust you? You don’t even like me,” Ace argued.
“You don’t like me either. I thought we had an understanding,” Prince said. It was true they had a sort of unspoken agreement that Ace didn’t have with the rest of Cyra’s harem. They were the only one who Ace was on decent terms with, aside from Tony but he wasn’t technically part of the harem.
Prince was the quickest to accept that Cyra was in love with Ace and that there was nothing they could do about it. They decided to just make nice with Ace and let him do what he wanted without arguing, just as long as Cyra safely returned home at some point.
So Ace knew that Prince genuinely just wanted to check on her, but he couldn’t take that risk. Cyra wasn’t okay and there was no way she’d make it through a phone conversation without making Prince worry.
“Look Prince, I just need you to trust this one time when I tell you that Cyra is okay,” Ace said.
For a long moment, there was silence on the other end of the line. Ace began to regret answering the phone.
“Something happened, didn’t it?” Prince said.
“Don’t worry yourself for no reason, Prince.”
“I just want to make sure she’s okay.”
“She’s fine.”
“If she was fine you’d let me talk to her.”
Ace sighed. He really fucked up by answering the phone. Caring for Cyra was taking a toll on him and now he needed to diffuse this situation that he’d accidentally created. What a pain.
“I promise she’ll be back home soon, just hang tight until then,” Ace reasoned.
“You’re acting strange,” Prince observed.
“Must be the mating,” Ace replied, examining his nails. He needed to get them redone. They were all chipped from cooking so often. He wasn’t used to cooking for himself this much.
“No, you sound stressed,” Prince said.
“I’ve had a lot of long business meetings lately.”
“Are you lying?” Prince asked. “Your voice is shaking a bit.”
“Who the fuck do you think you’re talking to?” Ace snapped, taken aback. Prince never talked to him like this.
“Please just tell me what happened,” Prince said, going back to pleading with him.
Ace rubbed his forehead. That stupid headache was coming back and this time Cyra wasn’t the one causing it.
“You’re better off not knowing,” Ace said, giving up the act. “Cyra wouldn’t want me to tell you anyway.”
“What am I supposed to tell the others? Everyone’s worried about her,” Prince argued.
“Just lie to them. Sometimes it’s better to believe a pretty lie than learn the ugly truth. I thought you knew that.”
“Of course you’d say that,” Prince mumbled.
“Excuse me?”
“Nevermind. Please just do something to put me at ease,” Prince begged.
Ace glanced around the room, trying to think of a plan. He had a few ideas but they all would require a couple more days.
“Two days,” Ace said.
“What?”
“Cyra will call you in two days. I swear on my life.”
There was silence again, but this time it was a good sign. It meant Ace had finally gotten to them. Prince was about to give up.
“Ugh, I’m not gonna be able to sleep until then,” Prince resolved.
Join the club, Ace thought. “I have to go.”
“You cause me so much stress.”
“Likewise. Goodbye Prince.”
Prince said nothing so Ace just hung up. He went back to making lunch, going over his options in his head as he did so.
Cyra popped up soon after and sleepily asked who he was talking to before. She must have faintly heard him talking from upstairs. Thankfully she was too out of it to comprehend any of the conversation. Ace told her that he was chatting with one of his friends and Cyra bought the lie.
By some miracle, Cyra walked over to the fridge and took out the milk carton. Ace watched in shock as she opened it and poured some into her mouth. Some kind of fucked up sense of relief washed over him. Maybe she was starting to feel better.
Cyra only took a couple gulps before putting the carton back in the fridge and walking out of the kitchen without another word.
Ace felt a renewed sense of determination. It wasn’t hopeless. He could fix his mate. He would fix her. There was no doubt in his mind anymore.
~
“When the fuck is Cyra coming home?” Devin demanded, like he owned the damn place.
Prince rolled their eyes, fed up with his complaining. “I already told you she’s gonna call me back in two days,” they said. That must have been the tenth time they had to repeat themself to the alpha. It was like he would ask the question and then immediately stop listening.
The two of them were in the living room together. Prince was trying to watch TV to distract themself, and Devin had been pacing back and forth for the past half hour.
Devin growled in frustration and tugged at the collar that was still locked around his neck.
“Someone needs to get this stupid thing off of me,” he complained.
The alpha must have been delusional. There was no way Cyra was going to take the collar off of him when she got back. Especially after the way he’d been acting while she was gone. She would definitely not be impressed.
Devin gave up fiddling with the device and turned to look at Prince. “Give me the controller,” he demanded.
“No.”
Ignoring Prince’s denial, the alpha lunged at them to grab the remote from their hand. Prince quickly moved their hand away from his reach and pressed the shock button. Devin made a pained noise and fell to his knees.
Before she left, Cyra had instructed Prince to use the shock collar as often as they needed to and to turn the dial as high up as they wanted. So Prince had done just that (but obviously didn’t turn the dial higher than six). They weren’t trying to be mean to Devin, Prince actually got along quite well with the alpha. But Devin had been acting out a lot since Cyra and Ace mated, even after he and Cyra went back to being on good terms. Part of it was most definitely his natural instincts reacting to the situation, but part of it also had to just be his personality.
Devin was stubborn, headstrong, and egotistical. Despite him claiming that he had gotten over what happened, it was obvious that he was still harboring some resentments, especially towards Ace. Prince couldn’t blame him for that, everyone in the house at the very least disliked the high-femme, spoiled-rich, beta demon.
“You could at least put it on a lower setting,” Devin said as he recovered from the shock.
“Don’t lunge at me then,” Prince replied.
Devin shifted on the floor to lean back against the front of the couch. He sighed and brushed his hand through his hair.
“You understand why I’m frustrated, don’t you?” he asked.
“Probably not since I’m not an alpha,” Prince said.
“Even so, you wouldn’t like having a shock collar locked onto your neck either.”
“Sounds rough,” Prince said, unenthusiastically. They hadn’t slept at all the previous night and they were too tired to listen to Devin’s whining. As of that afternoon, Prince was still the only one who knew that there was something bad going on with Cyra. They didn’t know what it was, of course, but the burden of being the only one to know was still a lot to bear.
They wanted so badly to at least tell Tony about it but they were too afraid. From what Ace said on the phone, it sounded like Cyra would be even more at risk if too many people knew that something was wrong. That fact alone made Prince twice as worried. They didn’t even want to guess what was going on if it was that bad.
Prince and Devin both looked over at the stairs when they heard Jayce running down them.
“Did you guys see TMZ?” he asked before he even got all the way down the steps.
“Why are you looking at TMZ?” Prince responded. They all hated that website after all the trashy articles they wrote about them when they were teenagers.
“People are spamming my twitter DMs about it,” Jayce explained. He stepped over Devin to sit on the couch next to Prince, holding out his phone to show them what he was looking at.
Prince leaned over to look, reading the headline at the top of the page. “Ace XXXXXXX Makes Statement: ‘I’m mated with Cyra Drake’”. Prince could not believe what they were seeing. Why the fuck would Ace announce that? He didn’t even want to be mated with Cyra in the first place. It wasn’t adding up.
“That has to be fake,” Prince said.
“Let me see,” Devin said, stretching his neck to see Jayce’s phone.
Prince hovered their thumb over the shock button, prepared for Devin to freak out. Jayce turned his phone so that the alpha could see it better. Devin frowned as he read the headline.
“Yeah, that better be fake,” Devin resolved. He relaxed his neck and leaned his head back on the couch cushion.
Prince relaxed too, glad that he didn’t lash out at either of them.
“Why would he even bother announcing it?” Devin went on.
“And why would he even bother talking to TMZ?” Prince added.
“I don’t know guys…” Jayce scrolled through his DMs, skimming over them. “People seem to think it’s real because Ace didn’t try to deny it or even acknowledge the article.”
“He’s probably just trying to ignore them,” Prince told the omega. They reached over and took his phone out of his hand. “This is why we’re all supposed to keep our DMs closed. People are just trying to stress you out for no reason.” They turned off Jayce’s phone and put it on the table beside them, out of his reach.
After a few minutes of sitting in silence, Jayce spoke again. “What do you think they’re doing right now?” he asked.
Devin groaned in annoyance and wrapped his arms around one of Jayce’s legs. He rested his forehead against the omega’s knee. Prince figured he was trying to calm himself down.
“I don’t wanna think about that,” Devin complained.
“Me neither,” Prince agreed. Ace and Cyra could have been doing literally anything, but whatever it was, it was probably dangerous. Otherwise Prince would have been allowed to talk to Cyra on the phone. She could have been dead for all they knew.
No, they couldn’t let themselves think like that. Cyra would return home. She was still alive, there was no way she’d let herself be killed so quietly.
Devin spoke again, distracted Prince from that awful train of thought. “If Cyra comes back we–”
“When.” Prince cut the alpha off to correct him.
“What?”
“When Cyra comes back,” Prince clarified.
“Oh. Yeah,” Devin agreed. “When Cyra comes back we need to figure out what’s going on with her.”
“What do you mean?” Jayce asked.
“She’s been leaving so often without giving any notice. It’s not like her,” Devin explained.
“It’s just because she’s mated now,” Jayce argued.
Prince bit their tongue. It wasn’t just that. It couldn’t be. Cyra had been acting secretive whenever she was at home. It was the same way she had been acting years ago when she was more heavily addicted to drugs.
That’s what Prince was beginning to suspect, that Cyra was falling into that habit again. Prince had taken Cyra’s absence as an opportunity to scour the house. They had found multiple stashes of different drugs hidden around the house. They were well-hidden, but Prince knew Cyra well enough that they knew exactly where to look.
“No, she’s been acting like she feels guilty about leaving us. It’s like she’s having to go somewhere against her will,” Devin said.
Prince agreed with that. Something, or someone, was forcing Cyra to keep making trips down to The States. They had a guess as to who it might be.
“To be honest, if it’s that bad then I don’t want to know,” Jayce said. “You can ask her if you want though.”
“Yeah, if you wanna face The Wrath of Cyra,” Prince joked.
Devin huffed, not finding it funny. “I don’t get how you guys can just turn a blind eye to these things.”
“Some things aren’t worth stressing out over,” Prince explained. “Especially if you can’t do anything about them.”
“Yeah. The only thing I care about is Cyra coming home in one piece,” Jayce said.
Devin didn’t respond. Instead, he just squeezed Jayce’s leg tighter and closed his eyes.
Prince looked up at the ceiling, praying to a god who they didn’t believe in that Cyra would come back soon. The entire household was suffering and they needed her there.
~
Cyra stared up at the ceiling, watching the patterns on it twist and morph into different shapes. She’d been lying on the floor in the middle of the living room for god knows how long. She was beginning to wonder if she’d ever sleep again. She had no idea how long she’d been up for, but it felt like at least three days. That was usually around the time she would start hallucinating whenever she stayed up that long on her own volition.
The hallucinations weren’t like her usual ones though. Normally they were either scary or amusing. That wasn’t the case this time. This time they were making her feel like she wasn’t real, like nothing in life was real. She couldn’t tell which things she was seeing were truly there and what her mind was just conjuring up. It all felt the same.
It felt like the furniture should be morphing into other things. Maybe the house never had any furniture to begin with. When the tiles on the floor started to swirl around each other, Cyra figured they’d just always done that. And the repetitive piano music she was hearing that seemed to come from nowhere, that was probably just what the mansion sounded like.
She wanted to sleep so badly. She tried to but everytime she closed her eyes, she only saw Phoenix bleeding out in front of her. Sometimes it made her feel scared, other times it made her feel happy. The worst times were when it made her feel bad for him. The guilt that came with it was indescribable. It would consume her whole body, paralyzing her.
“Cyra.”
Ace’s voice tore her out of her pleasant daze and she immediately forgot what she was thinking about.
“You still haven’t slept, have you?” Ace said.
Cyra looked over and saw him sitting on the couch next to her. She wondered how long he’d been there. She shook her head in response to his question.
“Are you even trying anymore?”
“No.”
“Well you have to sleep at some point,” Ace said. “You’ve already been awake for five days.”
Cyra’s eyes widened. “It’s been five days?”
“Mhm. The party was on Saturday, it’s now Wednesday afternoon. Assuming you didn’t sleep during the day on Saturday, then yes, it’s been five days.” Ace held his phone out to show her proof of the date.
Cyra rubbed her face, suddenly feeling more tired than ever before. She’d had insomnia for most of her life, but she’d never stayed up for five days in a row.
“God..”
“God’s not with us, I’ll tell you that much,” Ace remarked.
Not knowing what to say, Cyra looked back up at the ceiling. She felt like she was going to die.
“What’s keeping you up anyway? Is it guilt?” Ace asked. He spoke as if it were ridiculous to feel that way.
“Yes,” Cyra said plainly.
“I don’t understand why you’d feel guilty. Especially after all the horrible things he did to you.”
Cyra frowned and lifted herself up on her elbows. “You let him do those things to me.”
“I had no choice. If I didn’t he would have ruined both of our lives,” Ace argued. “We would have been separated and you’d forever be known as a victim. Is that what you wanted?”
“No. I’m not a victim,” Cyra replied. She wasn’t. No one could ever have that kind of power over her unless she willingly gave it to them. That she was sure of.
“Exactly. But that’s how everyone would have seen you if he ever went through with his threats. He would have destroyed everything that both of us have. And what about all those innocent people he hurt? The world is better off without him in it. If you think about it, you did everyone a favor.”
Ace had some good points, but it hardly made Cyra feel better. None of that changed the fact that she took another person’s life. There was blood on her hands and that was something she could never undo.
“But it’s all because of me, isn’t it?” she said.
“What is?”
“Everything. I’m the reason we’re in this mess.” Cyra felt so angry with herself. Being selfish came with a high price and she was paying it. Every bad decision she’d made in her life was crashing down all at once. “I’m the one who fell in love with you, I’m the one who invited Phoenix into our private lives, that stupid fucking video was my idea. It’s all my fault!”
“Now is not the time to be blaming yourself.”
“But it’s true, right?”
Ace sighed and frowned at her. “Don’t act like I’m not my own person, Cyra. I made all those dumb decisions too. It doesn’t matter whose fault it is because we can’t go back in time and change it. All we can do now is just move on.”
“How the fuck am I supposed to move on from this? A human being is dead because of me!” Cyra argued.
“Well you could start by not being so dramatic about it,” Ace retorted.
Unbelievable. Ace was seriously asking her to just continue on with life like nothing happened. Cyra was cold and dead inside, but even she couldn’t do that.
“You really can’t get past this?” Ace asked, as if he could read her mind. “I thought you were soulless.”
That was the first time in a while that Cyra questioned if she actually was missing a soul. No, that’s impossible. She had to be soulless. The organization wouldn’t lie to her about that. Besides, that would make no sense. Everything about her life pointed to her being hellbound.
“I am. But it doesn’t make this any easier,” she said.
They fell silent for a while. Cyra watched Ace, waiting for him to say something. He seemed like he was contemplating something, but she had no idea what.
When the femme finally spoke, he said the last thing that Cyra was expecting to hear.
“If you can’t get over it, then you need to just forget about it.” His tone was suddenly calm and slightly empathetic.
“What?” Cyra asked, giving him a quizzical look. She began to wonder if she was hallucinating again.
“You’re better off living in ignorant bliss,” Ace said, though that didn’t explain anything. “I bit you, so now it’s my job to protect you, whether I like it or not. Even if that means protecting you from yourself.”
That made Cyra sit up with intrigue. It sounded like he was either going to kill her or fuck with her mind. Both ideas excited her.
“There’s a type of hypnosis that can make you forget things, even people. We can erase all of your memories of Phoenix. It will be like you never even met him. But… it’s risky and you’d have to take a dangerous, mind-altering drug while we do it. If I’m not careful, you might actually go off the deep end.” Ace leaned forward and looked Cyra directly in the eyes. “Do you trust me enough to let me try it on you?”
“I trust you with my life,” Cyra responded, without hesitation.
Ace smiled at her. “I knew you’d say that.”

Sunny's first thought waking up was pain.
Not exactly his favorite way to wake up, but at least he slept well.
But, something that made it all worth it was waking up in the arms of Aubrey. For whatever reason he felt so comfortable
With her.
While his side was in pain, he didn't want to move and wake up Aubrey, so he endured.
He felt the warmth radiating off of her and he felt so comfortable, he could stay like this forever. He lay there in warmth, he was enjoying this. Her skin felt soft and smooth to the touch.
He felt a little movement coming from her though, he was afraid that this wasn't going to last much longer.
She started to stir for a moment. After a little bit she opened her eyes.
She groaned slightly then she realized where she was. She immediately let a smile on her face.
"O-oh, Good morning Sunny." Aubrey said, waking up.
"Good morning Aubrey." Sunny said grinning.
Neither of them wanted to move, they felt so comfortable. They both wished that time would never pass and they could just stay there forever.
Then Aubrey remembered something.
"How's your side Sunny?" She asked.
"It still hurts like hell, I'll be alright though." He replied.
Aubrey didn't want to move but she was worried about him.
"Here, let's check on it." She said.
"Seriously, I'm fine." He said.
"C'mon you're getting up, and we're gonna check your side." She demanded.
Sunny didn't want to get up but he knew there was no escaping this.
They shifted the covers to the side and got up. They made their way over to the bathroom.
They walked in and turned the light on.
Sunny sat down and Aubrey checked his side again.
She started to take the gauze off him.
It wasn't bleeding, but it was still bruised badly.
He grunted from the pain.
"Sorry, didn't mean to." She apologized.
"It's fine." He replied.
She re-bandaged him and they left the bathroom.
"Do you want breakfast?" he asked.
"Sure!" She responded cheerily.
They walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.
Aubrey sat down while Sunny once again found himself looking through the pantry.
"Hey, do you want some eggs and bacon?" He asked her.
"Yeah sure that sounds good." She replied.
Sunny grabbed out everything he would need and he began to cook.
"So, uh… how'd you sleep?" He asked while cracking eggs.
Aubrey's face turned a little red.
"O-oh uh, I slept fine." She replied.
"How about you?" She asked in return.
"Other than my side it was good." He replied as he stirred the eggs.
Aubrey sat there in silence thinking about last night. Something in her felt strange.
She felt something she hadn't before. Like a missing part of her was finally within her grasp.
She didn't quite understand it, but she didn't dislike it. She felt almost… satisfied?
She felt happy, for whatever reason.
"Here you go, all done." Sunny said, handing her food.
Aubrey wasn't paying attention until now.
"Huh, oh! Thank you." She replied startled.
"You good?" He asked.
"Yeah, sorry I was spacing out." She answered.
She picked up her fork and started eating.
Sunny sat down beside her and ate along with her.
"When did you get good at cooking? I always thought of that being a Hero and Mari thing." She asked.
"Well it was usually Mari cooking for everybody, I've been able to cook for myself for the past few years." He answered.
"Well, I suppose that makes sense." She responded.
They finished up and cleaned their dishes.
"So, what are we going to do today, Sunny?" Aubrey asked, stepping out of the kitchen.
He followed her out to the living room. "Not sure, do you have an idea?"
"We could just sit around and watch stuff." She suggested.
"I've done that enough in a lifetime." He replied.
"The only other thought is the park." She mentioned.
"Yeah, why not?" He said.
"Ok then, it's settled!" She replied smiling.
"We should probably change into something fitting this weather." He mentioned.
There was a nice breeze outside so warm clothes were a necessity.
They went upstairs to change one at a time.
After they changed they walked out the door.
"So, what are we gonna do at the park?" He asked.
"Oh, uh… didn't think that far." She said, awkwardly.
Sunny tried coming up with a plan. He thought for a moment.
"Wait! I have an idea!" He thought to himself.
"Aubrey, I thought of something, head over to the old hangout spot, I'll be back soon." He said.
"Huh? Where are you going?" She asked, confused.
"I'll explain it later." He said.
"Oh, ok… be safe Sunny." She said.
She walked into the park alone. It was pretty dead, nobody was there.
She tried to remember where their old hang out spot was.
"Should just be by these trees right?" She thought aloud.
Eventually she shifted a branch and saw some signs.
"Oh there it is!" She said excitedly.
She stepped past the signs and saw the most nostalgic sight she had seen in a long time.
She looked around and memories flooded back to her.
"Kel! Give it back!" A voice yelled.
"Come and get it!" Another voice said.
"Hey, everybody say cheese! A soft voice directed.
"Hero! You should have been more careful! Sunny could've died! You guys stood there and watched!" An upset voice yelled.
"Maybe not all memories were good ones…" Aubrey thought to herself.
She looked around for anything familiar, she saw old toy cars, rusty jacks, broken sand pails, a deflated rubber ball, among many others things.
She noticed a checkered blanket with a picnic basket on top of it.
"Wow, how is that still standing?" She thought, looking at the old picnic spot.
She walked over to the blanket and brushed some of the dead leaves off it and sat on it. It was still dirty from years of bad weather and dirt, but it was still intact.
She remembered all the picnics they used to have, she missed them. Maybe one day they would all sit down here again, maybe she would make new memories here.
"Why did we stop doing this, was there a reason? Did we start growing apart?" She thought to herself. "Did we grow up?"
She felt her stomach churn. She felt like she was growing up too fast. She could remember the days where the worst of their problems was school, now they had to deal with people, the real world, and money.
She didn't like the change, she wished everything could go back to the way it was.
"Well, maybe not everything has gotten worse." She thought. "My friends have never been better, Kel grew up, Sunny learned to be more social, Mari and Hero got together, Basil hasn't changed, but he was fine in the beginning anyway."
Aubrey was tired of feeling down, so she continued to think about the good things.
She lay down on the blanket and looked at the sky. It was kinda cloudy out, so it wasn't too bright. She sat there thinking, not about anything too specific, but she was thinking.
"Ok, this is everything." Sunny said to himself.
He walked into the park with his groceries and looked for his old hangout spot.
"Should be by these trees." He thought to himself.
He pushed some branches out of the way and made it to the signs.
"Yup, this is the place." He said.
He walked past the signs and made it to the spot.
"Sunny! There you are! I was getting worried. She said getting up and running over to him.
"Yeah sorry, the check-out was packed." He said, gesturing to the bags.
"What did you get?" She asked, curiously.
"We are going to have a picnic." He said. "Unless you don't want to?"
Her heart lit up.
"I was just thinking about the old picnics we had!" She squealed.
"So, is that a yes?" He asked.
"Yeah! Of course." She said with a smile.
Sunny smiled back
They walked over to the basket and sat down on the old blanket.
"So what did you get?" Aubrey asked.
He pulled out fresh and warm bread from a bag.
"Just some sandwich stuff, I kinda came up with this on the fly, so nothing too special. I hope you don't mind." He said.
"Not at all, I love the bakery in Othermart." She mentioned.
They made their sandwiches and started to eat.
"I missed this, Sunny. Next time we come here we should bring everyone." Aubrey said, still reminiscing.
"Good idea. I missed this too." He replied.
While they finished eating they talked about all the old memories they had, and how much they missed them too.
"I remember how pissed Mari was, that's the only time I can remember her being upset." Aubrey said giggling.
"I thought they were going to break up, so I talked to Mari. I made her promise that she would calm down and apologize to Hero." Sunny replied. "I will always take credit for those two staying together, I will hear nothing else."
Aubrey chuckled.
They finished up their food and they just sat and looked at the sky.
"What now?" Aubrey asked.
"Kinda done with adventures for the next couple of days." He said tired. "Let's go home."
"Sure, I can agree with that." Aubrey replied.
They got up and cleaned their mess. They'll be back at some point soon.
Then two stepped out from behind the trees, it was now the afternoon.
The park was now filled with little kids running around.
They looked so happy, so free… they missed that sense of freedom.
They left the park and crossed the street.
Suddenly a car sped up right next to them.
"Aubrey!" Sunny yelled while they jumped to the side.
They both barely missed the car. The driver stopped the car and rolled the window down.
"Get out of the road, you cunts!" He yelled.
They both got up and yelled back at him.
"Pedestrians have the right of way dipshit!" Aubrey screamed.
"You shouldn't speed through here! There are children here!" Sunny yelled.
"Get out of the way stupid fucking children!" The driver yelled.
Sunny was fuming, so he went over and kicked his car.
The driver looked at him, he was pissed.
He floored the gas and aimed to hit Sunny.
He stepped out of the way fast enough to miss it.
The car sped off.
"Are you a-" Aubrey started.
She was interrupted by the screech of tires.
They looked where the car had gone to see it slide into another car.
"Holy shit" they both said.
They ran over to help the victims.
"That car looks familiar." Sunny thought to himself.
The smoke had covered most of the crash up.
They made it to the crash site.
The driver that tried to run them over was unconscious, but probably fine.
They rushed to the other car, just barely through the smoke Sunny could see a face.
Sunny screamed.
It was Mari.
He rushed to the passenger seat because the driver side had been blocked by the other car.
They noticed Hero was with her, they pulled him out and sat him on the ground.
Sunny crawled through the passenger side to get Mari, it appeared she was only unconscious.
He unbuckled her seat and tried to pull her out.
He noticed blood was trickling from her head. He started to panic.
He couldn't pull her out, she was too heavy.
"Sunny, get out here! I have an idea!" Aubrey called to him.
He got out and walked to her.
"We can try to move the car out of the way. We'll push it out of the way just enough to open the door." She suggested.
"Yeah, ok." He replied, trying to calm himself.
They moved to the driver side and tried to push the car, but they severely underestimated the weight of the car.
"Wait, help me get the other driver out." Sunny said, coming up with another plan.
They opened the door and pulled the driver out. Sunny hopped into the car and reversed it slowly.
They moved it just enough to pull Mari out of the seat.
All three just appeared to just be unconscious.
Aubrey remembered that Hero had a flip phone.
She reached into his pockets and found it. She dialed 911 and explained what happened.
Sunny sat by Mari and Hero the entire time until the ambulance arrived.
When the ambulance arrived they told them that nobody was in critical condition, but Mari had it the worst out of them all.
"The female appears to have a concussion." They said.
Sunny instantly felt horrible, he immediately turned to blaming himself.
Aubrey looked over to him and immediately knew what he was thinking.
"Sunny, don't you even think about blaming yourself." She said, trying to console him.
The ambulance started to drive off.
"But it is my fault! I should've controlled myself!" He said arguing to her.
"You didn't drive the car into them!" She returned.
"But I provoked the person who did!" He screamed.
Aubrey started tearing up, the screaming reminded her of her mother.
Sunny realized what he did. She started to cry.
He didn't know what to do, he tried to move towards her but his body wouldn't let him.
He started to back up, then he ran off.
Aubrey sat there for a couple of minutes, she wasn't paying attention to the world around her, she just sat on the sidewalk and cried.
Eventually she gathered herself and looked up for Sunny.
But he was no longer there.
"S-sunny? W-what? Why did y-you leave me?" She said as she started to tear up more.
She stood up and looked around.
He was nowhere to be found.
"Where did he go?" She thought to herself, trying to keep it together.
She walked around in search of him.
She checked all over Faraway.
There was no sign of him anywhere she checked. It was as if he just disappeared.
There was one last place to check, Sunny's house.
She walked along the sidewalk, she passed Kel's house, she realized that they didn't know about what happened. She couldn't say it to them, not alone.
She walked over to his house, but before she went inside she checked to see if he was on the roof.
She climbed on top and he wasn't there. She was kind of surprised.
She climbed back down and opened the door.
"Sunny? Are you here? I've looked all around for you." She called.
There was no response.
She walked up the steps to check his room.
He wasn't there. There was only one last place in Faraway that Sunny could possibly be.
Aubrey walked down the stairs and into the living room. She made her way to the glass sliding door and opened it.
The sun had started to set, it was getting colder and darker out.
There she was, looking for Sunny.
She walked forward, past the old toys, past the flowers, past Mari's favorite tree.
She walked through a few trees and she saw a familiar sight.
Tumblr media
There a tree house lay, it hadn't been used in a few months, but it was still in good condition.
She saw the ladder sway with the cool breeze.
She grabbed onto the ladder, after all these years somehow it managed to stay sturdy.
She climbed up hoping that he would be there.
She had no clue what she would say, or what she would do if he was there.
Sure enough, as Aubrey had hoped, there he was.
She climbed onto the treehouse and walked over to him.
Sunny didn't say a word, he refused to look at her.
She sat down on the other side of the table and looked at him.
"Sunny, I checked this entire town for you. I'm sorry for everything today." She apologized solemnly.
He sat there a moment, he looked up at her.
"Why… are you apologizing to me? I yelled at you… I'm a terrible friend." He said, tearing up.
"No you aren't, you let your emotions get to you in the heat of the moment, it happens to everyone Sunny." She replied.
He paused, he couldn't find the words to combat Aubrey's.
There was a short silence.
He rested his head on the table and started to sob.
Aubrey moved next to him and hugged him.
She felt bad for him. She wished that she could help more than a measly hug.
He moved his head from the table and rested it on Aubrey's shoulder.
Aubrey started to tear up too.
"I'm so fucking sorry." He apologized sobbing into her shoulder.
He kept apologizing profusely.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, god… I'm so sorry." He let out.
"You're ok Sunny, I won't hold this against you. You made a mistake." She said.
They sat there for a while, it felt like time would never pass for them.
"There's one last thing we have to do." She said. "I haven't told Hero's family about what happened yet. We need to tell them." She mentioned.
They both stood up.
"Ok… Thank you Aubrey, for always being there for me." Wiping his face with his sleeve.
They climbed out of the treehouse and walked to the house.
Aubrey opened the sliding door and walked through to the front door, Sunny followed right behind her.
They opened the front door and walked to Kel's house.
Sunny walked up to the front door and knocked.
After a minute the door clicked and Kel showed his face.
"Hey guys, what's up? Why the long faces?" Kel asked.
"Kel, we have Something to tell you" Sunny started.

(The Genin [my Sans OC] x Reader book)
(Going through a possible title change for the story, so this is what it will be called until a title is chosen. Here’s the previous chapter.)
(Tw: slow burn, suspicious people, and mention of the outside world.)
Chapter two: Suspicion
I woke up slowly the day after the ball, groggy and tired. After lying in bed for about a minute, I got up and made my way to the kitchen to make myself a bowl of cereal. Walking around and eating said cereal, I found my pet turtle, Raptor, awake in his tank. He greeted me with a few slow blinks, which I returned.
I reached into a mini fridge below Raptor’s tank and grabbed his breakfast for the day. He was delighted when receiving the food and immediately started chowing down on it. We ate our respective breakfasts in silence. A silence which was broken by my phone ringing right as I finished my cereal.
After putting my dirty bowl on the counter, I went over and picked up the phone. “Y/N’s residence, this is Y/N speaking.” I answered, taking a moment to recognize the voice on the other side. It was the soft-spoken maid from last night.
Soft-spoken maid: “Goodmorning, miss/sir/(prefered term). I was just calling about your jacket. I know everyone left their jackets and a few handbags last night in the rush just like they were asked to. But I was wondering if you’d like to meet up today and have your jacket personally returned to you?”
Me: “Really? That’d be great. Where would you like to meet up?”
Soft-spoken maid: “Are you able to meet me at the Seaside Café around noon?”
Me: “I’ve got nothing going on at that time.”
Soft-spoken maid: “Well, that settles it. I’ll see you there.”
Just as she was about to hang up, I heard someone else grab the phone. This time, I immediately recognized the new voice to be the stern maid’s.
Stern maid: “Do you want to know why everyone was evacuated last night?”
She cut me off before I could answer.
Stern maid: “Turn on the news.”
And then she hung up on me. Rude. But I am a bit curious…. So I went over to my tv and turned it on. After scrolling through the channels for a minute, I found the local news station and clicked it on. “-was found dead in his own bedroom last night by a maid at his annual ball.
“The police have found no leads on who murdered Mr Richest-Bachelor. Whoever killed him is either a lucky idiot, or a skilled villain,” the anchorman said in a calm but urgent manner. I stood in stunned silence as I wrapped my head around the news. My mind immediately went back to when the soft-spoken maid had stopped me from going into that room.
‘Did she know her boss was dead? Surely it should’ve been a security guard stopping me instead of one of the maids….’ I thought as I tuned out the rest of the anchorman’s report.
Questions started arising in my mind, but I shook my head to rid those thoughts. “It’s not my job to investigate such things, even if it was a little suspicious. I should leave the interrogating and investigating to the cops. Besides, she’s probably not the one who did it. It wouldn’t be right of me to jump to conclusions.
“She was probably just doing some cleaning on the fourth floor and spotted me when I was about to enter a room forbidden to the guests.” I told myself as I stepped into my bedroom. With how late I’d woken up (that ball lasted a long time) it was already getting close to noon.
Yes, I’m still going to meet up with the soft-spoken maid. She has my only dress jacket. Well, not the only one I own. Just the only one that looks expensive. I pulled on a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and my favorite jacket long with my favorite pair of shoes. Today’s outfit is so much more comfortable than the one I wore last night.
After grabbing my keys and giving Raptor a light, two-finger rub on his shell, I was ready to leave my apartment. It was nice outside today. The sun casted plenty of light, but it was still a bit chilly. The perfect weather to wear a jacket out and know you won’t overheat in the sun.
Street traffic was almost nonexistent since most people were at work by this time. Not many cars driving around since there wasn’t many people that don’t work today. I arrived at the Seaside Café right as the clock hit noon, but the maid wasn’t there yet. Not that I minded waiting since I have nothing better to do.
But it was still a little strange that she was late. The maid showed up ten minutes later and made a beeline over to me. Without a word exchanged, she handed me my dress jacket, turned around, and then left.
‘She left really quickly. Must be busy today.’ I thought as I checked my jacket, understanding why she might be rushing.
‘Afterall, who wouldn’t be busy looking for a new job the day after their boss is found dead? She probably can’t afford to go without having a job for a few months.’
After that exchange, I decided that, since I’m already out, I should spend the day in town. It’s really nice outside and I could use the fresh air and sunshine.
(At the end of the day…)
I stretched as I waited for my pizza to arrive. Raptor was enjoying a piece of lettuce at the moment, so at least he has his dinner for the night. There was a knock at my door and I answered it, thanking the delivery driver and getting the box of warm pizza. I got a strange feeling I was being watched as I put the box down on my kitchen counter.
The feeling that I was being watched made a cold shiver go down my spine. My throat went dry and I brushed the feeling off as I went to get a glass of water. Though the feeling stayed even as I ignored it and ate my dinner.

Disclaimer : Hi yall, if you are here, I guess you are fruity and all. This story is mentionning gay sex between teenagers, please be aware of that. There will also be homophobia mentions, so if you are not ok with this in your reading, don't read that !
Tumblr media
*MENTION OF BLOOD, DOMESTICAL ABUSE, PHYSICAL ABUSE AND MENTAL ABUSE, 18+ MOMENTS*
Anyway, enjoys !!
xoxo, Justin <3
CHAPTER 1 - Tyler's POV
I walked into school, hoping that I won't see him that day. It was the day right after we kissed. I was so ashamed that I almost didn't come in here.
"Ayo Tyler !"
Oh shit. He's here.
"What, Gabriel ?!, I said, with a nervous tone.
- Wait... you don't remember ? I mean you were kinda drunk but still !
- Ok, I will not play that little game, we kissed and that's all. Nothing's new on this point."
I didn't want to talk about it. I don't want to talk about the way I have butterflies in my stomach when I look in his light, blue eyes, nor even the way he arranges his blonde hair with each gust of wind. I can feel my cheeks become red. I hope he doesn't see it... His curls are just... too perfect. He looks like a little angel, by the way he looks innocently in my hazelnuts eyes. I don't know what I drank yesterday, because... I would NEVER kiss a guy. I am straight and he has a girlfriend. We can't just kiss and forget it the next day! That's not how it works...
He walked to me and gently slapped my face, then said
"Don't get drunk ever again, dumbass."
I wonder why he always talks to me with this cold voice... What did I ever do to him ???
CHAPTER 2 - Gabriel's POV
TW: DOMESTICAL ABUSE/PHYSICAL ABUSE
I felt like a dumbass this day. Why did I bring all the attention to me like that ? I was basically coming out and telling my girlfriend I was cheating on her ! But I'm not. I'm not gay. Nor cheating on Ezra. Or at least I hink so.
I was so dissociated from reality that I almost got hit by a truck on my way home.
"Gabriel.
-Yeah mum?
-What is that."
She was on Instagram. The picture showed me and Tyler kissing. We were both tagged.
[shi- shi- shi- what am I going to say], I thought.
"It's not what you think it is, mum, I promise. We were drunk and I got a dare to kiss him. And maybe a bad person took a picture and tagged us...
-I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOUR STORY, I KNOW YOU'RE LYING, she screamed while taking a knife from the shelf. NOW COME HERE, GABRIEL."
I woke up the next day tasting a weird medication in my mouth. I felt like I didn't have any pants on. I got up to eat breakfast and, when I walked past the mirror, I saw that I didn't have any pants nor underware. She abused me again. I suddenly had a panic attack while walking towards the cellar, so I just went back to my room, dressed and went away to school.
CHAPTER 3 - Tyler's POV
When I came back home after school, I immediatly received an emergency message. It was Gabriel:
"Tyler you little lovely bitch, I almost got killed by my mum because of a picture Mary posted on Instagram."
I immediately had a pannick attack. Why did I feel like that ??? I'm not attracted to boys... I mean, I never really had a crush on any girl but I didn't crush on boys either.Anyways, I have to go shower.
While I was under the shower, I kept asking me how did Gabriel recovered from his mum's attack. I mean, it's normal to be worried about your homie !
(btw I'm sorry the chapter's so short, I didn't have any inspiration)
CHAPTER 4 - Ezra's POV
When i first saw Gabriel that day, I got so fucking scared. His body was all bruise !! His face was covered with dark stains and his gaze was cold and angry. He seemed like he was feelling bad, so I went in for a hug but he rejected me, seeming hurted and in pain. I asked him
"Baby what is wrong ?
-Nothing..
-Babe I know you're not good !
-I'm fine ! he screamed with a cold and harsh tone."
Everyone heard us and turned their head in our direction. That was soooo awkward... I ran to the toilet to cry. Marla came up to me and asked what was wrong. I told her the whole story and how depressed it made me.
CHAPTER 5 - Tyler's POV
TW: GAY SEX
*2 months later*
We were back to a party, there was lots of alcohol and most of us were drunk af. I went to see Gabriel. He seemed high, so I came up to him and started kissing him. We went to the staircase, and he started taking his shirt off. We were still kissing and huging eachother, slowly taking of our clothes in the most sexy way, when we were going up the stairs. We entered an empty bedroom and I pushed him on the bed.
I took off his belt, while he was taking off my pants. I undressed him slowly, making sure to touch every sensitive parts I could. When he finally came to my boxer, and he was fully undressed, he rushed his hands to take it of and immediatly saw a big 7 inches hard dick to his face. He immediatly put it in his mouth and started sucking the shit out of it, making me moan. I felt ready enough so I grabbed some lube and a condom on the bedside table. I applied the lubricant on his tight asshole and I put on the condom. I looked at him, as he was moaning loudly and I pushed him to the edge of the bed, making sure he was on all four. He raised his ass of excitement and I penetrated him, making him moan even louder. Gabriel's member hardened as I was rushing inside him.
Suddenly, we heard a knock on the door:
"Hey, you guys are exciting me, what about a threesome ?"
It was James. I agreed, and told him he could enter, even tho I was doing the job. When he saw Gabriel's hard cock, he rushed to the bedside table and got himself ready to bottom. We moved a little bit, making my member go even deeper inside Gabriel. He moaned loudy, and that's when I came. I came so much that the condom broke, putting sperm all over the bed and Gabriel's body. He wasn't done with James yet, so I layed down and jerked off a bit watching them having sex and Gabriel's member gliding inside Jame's hole. This vision was so satisfying and I enjoyed this moment as much as I could. This was better than any porn video I've ever seen. I suddenly heard the door closing, and I knew something was wrong.
I put my clothes back in and rushed downstairs, to see Elies holding his phone, and showing it to multiple students. I went over to see what was happening and that's when I understood.
I took his phone from his hands, and saw The Video. I deleted it, and I ran through his social medias to see if he posted it. As it was NSFW, he couldn't, but he sent it on Whatsapp to a very large group, and I deleted the message before anyone could see. I put his phone down and I slapped him in the face.
ALRIGHT EVERYBODY

hoo hoo hee hee . . .
oneshot where nezuko takes the place of tanjirou in demon slayer :D
[tws: human and animal death, blood]
originally posted on my ao3 but i wanted it here also :)
(this was written a year or so ago so sorry if it's a bit weird w the writing)
She awoke to her youngest brother poking her face as she slept. Her eyes opened, slowly, as the bright light of the sun peeked in to their home. She chuckled.
“Oh, Rokuta, thank you for waking me…” To which the young boy smiled, and began to go outside, only stopping for a moment.
“Mama’s making us breakfast later than usual today, okay?” Nezuko nodded, and began to get up, gathering her thoughts. She was supposed to help around the house with her mother today, right?
She walked out after getting ready, to find her slightly older brother, Tanjirou, taking care of Hanako, her youngest sister. They were playing in the beautiful white snow, somehow not cold, despite it being freezing out, even in the daytime.
“Hey, Tanjirou,” she said, to which Tanjirou smiled, and, as if a lightbulb had sparked in his head, jumped up and ran to Nezuko. “I have a question, sis.” Nezuko nodded. “Mhm?”
Tanjirou shivered, but tried to hide it to seem a bit stronger. “Could you possibly take the coal into town today? I’ve got… to do… something…” As he said this, he looked away, with an embarrassed look on his face.
Nezuko immediately brightened up significantly, excited at the excuse to go into town, as she had some friends there. “Of course I will! What are you going to be doing?”
Tanjirou smiled at her willingness, and shook his head. “Nothing too insane, just a gift for a friend of mine. I could buy one, but I’d rather build one, not to mention we’re rather strapped for cash in the wintertime.”
Nezuko nodded, and she remembered she had to help her mother. “Oh… right… Tanjirou, I don’t know if I can go, I have to help mom…”
However, right as she finished her sentence, their mother, Kie, walked out from their house, wearing an apron over her clothes.
“I heard most of that, dear, but don’t worry, I can handle myself,” she said, but Nezuko immediately shook her head, an annoyed look on her face. “No, ma, you’ve been working so hard all week! You need a bit of a break. Don’t think I can’t see those bags under your eyes.”
But Kie merely put her hand on Nezuko’s shoulder. “I’m supposed to work, my dear. I’m your mother- besides, you should get a break as well, what better than to take a walk down the mountain, delivering goods and feeling the breeze?”
Nezuko furrowed her brows, a conflicted look on her face. “But what if something happens to you guys while I’m gone?”
Kie smiled. “We’ll be fine, my dear. Just go, don’t worry about us. Try to be back by dinner, but if you can’t, that’s okay. Stay safe.”
Nezuko hugged her mother, smiling. “Thanks, mom.” She let go, and walked over to the cart of coal. She did a little salute to her brother, and he reciprocated the gesture. “See ya later, ma! And Tanjirou, take care of the kids for me, okay?” To which he nodded.
She began walking down the mountain, only somewhat noticing how light the cart was compared to normal. She ignored it without a second thought. The fun shouts of the younger children began to fade the lower she went.
A family of seven deer all sat under a tree near her. They didn’t regard her, all busy eating while the mother watched over them. Meanwhile, birds of all types flew around the trees.
Nezuko was lucky that bears and other dangerous creatures slept during the winter. She worriedly thought about her brother having to carry coal down the mountain during the summers, and decided, right then and there, she’d accompany him during his deliveries through the summer in the future.
But she shoved that thought aside for later, as she saw, in the distance, a person, walking around the trees. They looked unfamiliar, and carried a sword. She just nodded to them, and continued on her way.
After around a half an hour of walking, she reached the town. Now she understood why her siblings loved to sled down the mountain instead, despite the danger that came with it.
She giggled to herself as she entered the town, recalling a fond memory of her youngest two sisters being taught by Tanjirou how to sled, the two proceeding to run directly into two trees afterwards. Thank the heavens that they came out of that unscathed.
She walked towards the shops to her right, everyone greeting her with a smile as she gave them their coal, and occasionally stopping to hang out with friends along the way. One of the friends gave her a bright pink rose that she’d grown earlier.
After almost a day of delivering, the sun was on the horizon, and she had one last piece of coal to deliver. After giving the last man the coal (who thanked her and gave her a cup of hot cocoa to drink, which she accepted gratefully), she took her cart and began her trek up the mountain.
She was about to walk up, when all of a sudden, a neighbour, who most knew as extremely paranoid, opened his house’s door, and gestured to her to come inside. Confused, she walked over and asked why.
“The demons, of course,” he said, and Nezuko decided to go inside. The man asked her to at least stay the night, until it was safe. Nezuko thought for a moment, and remembered her mother’s words.
“Okay,” she began, “I’ll stay, though I’m sure it’s safe.” The man offered her food, which she gratefully took.
After sleeping, she woke up, confused at where she was at first, but she quickly remembered the previous night’s happenings, and thanked the man before grabbing the coal cart, and leaving.
She began a brisk walk up the mountain, but something seemed off… It was silent. No birds, no voices, nothing.
As she walked up, she passed the same spot where the deer were yesterday, but her eyes widened significantly, and she paused, as she took in the sight.
The mother, and four of the fawns were all mauled, most likely by a bear. One of the fawns was barely breathing, and the last fawn, with a sad look on it’s face, was completely unharmed.
She looked into her cart, and decided to grab the flower that one of her friends had given to her the day before, and give it to the remaining deer. She turned and walked away before she could see what happened next, a feeling of dread washing over her.
Finally, she almost reached the house, a smile appearing on her face. But that smile faltered when she saw no-one out and about, and the door wide open.
She walked inside, the room dark, and her foot splashed into something as her eyes adjusted, some of the liquid reaching her face from the splash.
Nezuko wiped the blood-like substance off her face, her face twisting into a sad, destroyed look apon seeing that the substance she’d stepped into was one of her sisters’.
It wasn’t a blood-like substance. It was just blood. She couldn’t comprehend the feeling as she looked upon her whole family. Dead. Gone. Destroyed. As if a bear had mauled them. But she knew what it was.
As if she was a robot, her first instinctual thought was to see if anyone’d survived. She knelt down next to all her family, checking their breathing.
Rokuta? Dead.
Shigeru? Dead.
Takeo? Dead.
Kie? Dead.
Hanako? Dead.
She didn’t realize how hard she was crying till she got to Tanjirou. Before checking his breathing, he noticed how he cradled Hanako in his arms, protecting her. She froze, her heart seemingly stopping.
As she cried, she checked Tanjirou.
Tanjirou? Alive.
She got up and began to go outside, an unreadable look on her face as she comprehended the happenings. If she hadn’t left… if she’d let Tanjirou, Kie, any of them leave instead, they’d still be alive.
Wait. Tanjirou had been breathing, still, which meant he was still alive.
The deer nuzzled the younger fawn.
Nezuko ran inside, picking up Tanjirou, not caring how heavy he felt. She carried him outside, and her eyes widened as his looked towards her. He lunged, and she pushed him off. They seemed to fight for hours, though only minutes, as they ended up in the middle of the forest.
“Tanjirou!” She cried, and despite his fighting, she could see he was crying. All of a sudden, he stopped, laying in the snow. She checked his pulse, praying to someone, something, that he hadn’t died.
He was still alive. Good. But then, she heard rustling in the woods. Turning around, she spotted the person from earlier, with the sword. He had a stare that could kill hundreds.
In the most cold, unreadable voice she’d ever heard, he said “Get. Away. From. The. Demon.” But, she didn’t.
“Get away from it, kid.” She shook her head. “He’s my brother.” The person had an almost fake pitiful look on his face. “But it’s a demon now.”
“No, I promise, he’s fine, he’s fi-” The man interrupted, angered. “If you won’t move, I’ll have to kill both of you.”
However, right as he said that, Tanjirou got up, and ran in front of Nezuko, teeth bared towards the man, in a protective stance.
As if a gunshot had been fired, the two immediately began fighting, Nezuko becoming extremely worried for Tanjirou’s safety.
“Tanjirou!” She yelled out, “Tanjirou, no! Sir, please, please, please don’t hurt Tanjirou!" But when the man wouldn’t listen, her instincts kicked in, and a cold look appeared on her face. In the middle of the battle, she grabbed her brother, and pulled him away from the man, who merely froze.
“Why are you just standing there?” She asked, but he didn’t respond, merely with a shocked look on his face. He walked backwards, a bit away from them, but he didn’t stop staring.
She realized he was staring at her brother, who, instead of fighting, was protecting his sister with all his might. The man stopped his shock so quickly, it was almost as if he was wearing a mask of emotions. “How is he not hurting you?” He asked, in an unreadable voice.
“He’s my brother,” was all Nezuko replied with. “I just want him to be okay. I love him.” The man sighed. “Are you trying to turn him back? Is that it?” Nezuko, a bit confused, nodded regardless.
“It’s nearly impossible. But,” he began, looking away, embarrassed, to Nezuko’s surprise, “There’s a way you probably can.”
“The head demon, Muzan, can probably transform him back. But, if you want to get there, you’ll need the strength. Demon slayers have that strength.”
Nezuko, surprised at his immediate change, asked how. “Go to Sakonji Urokodaki, he lives on Mt. Sagiri. I have to say, kid, you have potential.”
Nezuko nodded, slightly annoyed at his usage of ‘kid’. “Thank… you…? I guess?”
The man sighed. “You’re welcome, I don’t usually spare demons’ lives. The name’s Giyu Tomioka, by the way.”
“Nezuko Kamado. Thank you very much, Tomioka.” He nodded. “Of course, Kamado.” And just like that, he left, leaving the two sitting, alone, in the snow.
Tanjirou and Nezuko walked over to their home, Nezuko thanking the heavens that the sun wasn’t out that day. She carefully took each and every corpse, and buried them, silently crying with each one she buried. Unknowingly, her brother was crying too.
After praying for them, she got up, a brave look on her face, and took the cart that she used for coal, and had Tanjirou get in it to protect him from the sun. “Don’t worry, Tanjirou, I’ll find you some better way to protect you from the sun later, but first, we’ve got someone to find.”
She cracked her knuckles, looked back at the graves of her family, and, somewhat hesitantly, began on her way, carrying Tanjirou in a coal cart on her back.
Somewhere, deep in the forest, a fawn carries her sibling through the forest, as the sibling begins to walk again, carrying a comforting bright pink rose.

He woke up to a knock on his door. An insistent but soft knock. He smiled at that, having grown used to it and the person responsible for it.
He got up as quickly as his knees allowed him to. He hated to admit it, but he was starting to accept that he wasn't the same young man he used to be, and his quite old body was aching like one. He opened the door as soon as he got up, already knowing who it was.
"Mornin' ", you said with a wide smile. He immediately smiled back, your happiness being contagious for him.
"Mornin' there", he greeted back. "Wanna come in?".
"Nah, 's okay. Jus' came to check on ya before goin' on our patrol. Didn't see you at the canteen and figured you'd overslept. Sorry if I woke you up, by the way".
"No worries. Had to eat somethin' anyway if we're goin' out", he headed inside and put on his jacket. "Thanks for comin', appreciate ya worryin' 'bout me", he walked out of the house. You weren't as fast as you intended and instead of moving away to leave him space, you stood still there for a moment too long. You tried to make it fast so he wouldn't notice. But he did, though he didn't say a word. "So", he continued pretending nothing had happened, "where're we goin' today?".
You started walking towards the canteen.
"Maria said somethin' 'bout a couple cabins some other group spotted yesterday. Somewhere north, I think. She wants us to go 'n check it out", you answered.
"Who we goin' with?".
"She mentioned Tommy, but also mentioned him stayin' here taking care of her", you looked at Joel with a knowing smile. "So we probably won't see him with us".
Joel chuckled.
"That bastard", he mumbled. "Really hope he'll catch a cold when he takes his damn clothes off".
Now you chuckled.
"Nah. I doubt they'll be up to much. Maria's gonna give birth in some months, Tommy's gotta watch after her", you walked inside the canteen before him.
"Hope you're right", you both laughed again.
Joel stepped in the canteen before you. You found Ellie eating with one of her friends and Joel passed by to tell her good morning, then went to grab his food.
"Gonna go on patrol with him in a while", he talked back to Ellie after grabbing his breakfast. "Be safe. And nice".
"Yeah, yeah. Have fun you two", was her only answer. As you walked away, you heard her whispering something about how Joel was being so overprotective lately. You also heard Joel scoff and mumble some curse towards the girl. That made you laugh.
You left the canteen once Joel was done with his breakfast. You said your last goodbyes to Ellie and headed off to your houses to grab the last supplies you needed.
Tommy was fixing one of the horse's saddles when you arrived to the stables. He gave you both an apologetic look and wished you good luck.
"Sorry I ain't coming with ya", he said as you mounted your horses.
"No worries, lil' brother", Joel winked at him. "Take care of your girl".
With a last wave of your hand toward Tommy, you headed off to the north with both of your horses. The two of you were silent for the most part of the way, like usually. Joel wasn't much of a talker and he understood you weren't either. At least he enjoyed every time you shared a conversation. You were probably the nicest guy he had found since breakout. What he didn't understand was how you had managed to stay so happy —if it could be called that— in a world like this. But then again, Tommy was pretty much the same, despite everything he had been through. Whatever it was that got to keep your mind together, he liked that you were good to him and everyone around you. Maybe that's what drove him to want to spend more time with you.
"Hey", your voice took him out if his train of thought. "Y'hear that?".
He shook his head no.
"Infected", you took your knife out. Joel tilted his head the other way. This time, he could hear the infected. He looked at you and nodded, taking out his own knife.
You got off the horses and walked carefully to where the sound was coming from. You were as silent as you could, praying that the sound of cracking snow under your boots wouldn't alert the infected too much. And of course praying that there weren't any clickers.
You walked around the mountainous corner and saw a group of runners, bent over their stomaches, crying. You gestured Joel to make him know there weren't any clickers, luckily for you both. Approaching very slowly, you took down all the infected standing in your way and went back to the horses to continue your way.
Right after trotting down the path, you saw the cabins Maria had told you about. It almost looked like a small village. Joel sighed, knowing it would take you both a few hours to search them all down. He tried to see the good side of it —it meant spending more time with you.
"Should we split?", your question took him back to reality, making him realize you were already down in the village.
"Let's stay together, in case we find somethin' outta place".
You nodded.
The horses stayed outside, tied to some fences, as you started registering the cabins. Only the first one took you around half an hour. They weren't big, but you could see they hadn't been touched in years. Everything was covered in dust and spiderwebs. You found ammunition, some short-range guns and food that would probably be wasted already, but perhaps Maria would give them some use anyway. You also got some bottles of wine, but you'd keep that to yourselves.
After a couple hours, you had already searched half of the cabins down. You had spent most of time talking about your lives before breakout, like you usually did, and you stayed silent every timr you had to walk inside a new cabin, just in case there were infected inside. Fortunately, you found none of them and you could enjoy your time together.
"You still with me?", your voice took him back to the real world. Again.
"Yeah, sorry. Jus' thinkin' ".
"Fascinating. Joel Miller thinkin' ", you laughed at him. "Got you a present", you threw him a pair of boots. "Think they'll suit you?".
Joel inspected the boots. The leather seemed almost new and they were much better than the ones he had, which were all torn, the soles barely keeping holding onto the rest with some tape. He took off one of his boots and tried on the other one you had given him.
"Fits like a glove", he smiled at you. "Thanks".
"Figured you'd need 'em, judgin' the looks of those", you pointed to the old boot he still had on. "Try to take better care of 'em".
"I'll try", Joel chuckled, putting on the other boot. He put his old ones inside his backpack and continued to search down the cabin.
A while after, you arrived to the last cabin. This time you heard noise inside. Joel looked at you as you have him worried eyes. You then nodded, then started walking around the cabin, looking for a safer entry than the front door.
You made a sign with your head towards him to point to a closed window. He gave you a boost so you could open it, then you gestured back to the front door, communicating him you'd open it for him. As soon as Joel was inside, you started searching down the cabin with all your senses in alert. Though, this time you decided it would actually be a better idea if you split up. A couple infected couldn't be much trouble, right? Plus, if there were many of them, you would've already had trouble with them. Joel was the one to find where they were.
He reached the door to a room he couldn't see. He was able to hear them crying and clicking at the other side of the door with his good ear. He grabbed his knife and took a step back.
"Hey", he called out to you. What he wasn't expecting was the door to suddenly break open with a horde of infected —runners and clickers— jumping over him. It kinda made sense, right? The wood was all rotten and quite old, it had to give up at some point.
You were quick to run to where Joel was being attacked as soon as you heard the infected's screaming. He managed to take down the ones closer to him while you got rid of the rest in an attempt to get to help him as quickly as possible. You prayed that it wasn't too late when you finally killed the last one on top of him. You pushed the body to a side and immediately helped Joel up.
"You okay?", your voice sounded desperate and shaky.
"I think so", he breathed out.
"Did any of 'em bite you?", you searched his body for any signs of infection, your hands shaking as well.
"No—".
"You sure?".
He grabbed your hands and pulled you in front of him, staring into your eyes with his eyebrows slightly up.
"I'm okay", he said with a voice way more calmed than yours. "I'm not bitten. Are you?".
You thought about your response for a second too long, too busy admiring his beautiful face and how close it was to yours. If only you reached out a little, just a little peck...
"No", you mumbled after a little while.
Joel didn't say anything. He was also a bit busy scanning your features that he almost didn't hear your answer. When he looked back in your eyes and realized you were looking at him as well, he pulled away, mostly out of pure instinct.
"Good", he cleared his throat and dusted off his clothes. "We should finish registerin' this".
"Yeah", you nod and walk away. "I'll go check on the horses".
"Right", Joel answered without even thinking.
As soon as you walked out of the cabin, he released the breath he didn't know he was holding in. He looked around, taking in the view of the old furniture, since he hadn't had the time due to the sudden attack of the infected, now dead and laying on the floor.
He tried to get the thought of you being so close to him out of his head. He tried to occupy his mind with the task of searching down the cabin instead, but it was vain. Still, he was able to calm down the rising adrenaline in his bloodstream and finish registering the place before joining you back outside.
"Found somethin' interestin'?", you asked, trying to keep it cool.
"Jus' some more wasted food n' ammo. Not too interestin' but useful".
"Good", you nodded. "Let's get back, then. 'S gotten pretty late".
"Yeah".
Joel mounted his horse and waited for you to get on yours before heading off and back to Jackson. Both of you were silent all the way back, trying to keep the awkwardness away. It didn't quite work, but it did keet you from talking about how weird that moment had been, which you thanked.
Back at Jackson, you left the horses and went to Maria so you could report what you had seen and give her what you had found. She thanked you both for the job and for risking your lives, then let you go home. Joel accompanied you to your place before going back to his, even if it meant spending another while immersed in an uncomfortable silence. Despite the whole situation, he wanted to make sure you got home safe, even though you were somewhat out of danger. You thanked him for it before he walked away. And, like every day, you stood watching him through your window until he was out of your sight.
Joel went straight to his house, too. He told himself he'd go see Ellie later, at dinner maybe. His top priority by the moment was to take a hot shower and try to forget what happened back at the cabin village. But no matter how much he tried to distract himself from thinking about that, you were just too damn present. And the memory of you being so close to him, how he could almost feel your cold breath on his face, how he could just step an inch closer and he'd be kissing you—
"Joel?", a voice and insistent knocking outside his door pulled him out of his thoughts and back to the real world. It took him a moment to remember where he was and recognize that voice.
"Comin' ", he walked to the door. He smiled very lightly when he saw Ellie in front of him.
"Heya, old man", she smiled as well. Joel stepped aside to let her in, then closed the door.
"How's it goin'?".
"That's what I should be asking you", Ellie protested. "You didn't come tell me you were back".
"I know, sorry", he sat on his couch, next to the girl. "Who told ya?".
"Maria. Had to go and ask her myself", she scanned his expression. "Did something happen?".
"Why?".
"You got that face. Y'know, grumpier than usual, and almost look like you've seen a ghost", she crossed her arms. "What happened?".
"Jus' some infected at last minute, didn't expect 'em n' got spooked for a moment".
Ellie scoffed.
"Spooked?", she laughed. "You're fucking with me", she looked into his eyes. "Y'know when you say you can tell when something's off with me? It works all the way around, old man. I can read your mind...", she said the last sentence with her spooky tone. Now Joel scoffed.
"Sure", he got up. "I'm tellin' ya, nothin's wrong".
Ellie hummed.
"If you don't wanna talk about it, it's fine. But you can't try to make me think it's alright when it's not", she got up as well. "Dinner time's coming. Gonna spend the night with Cat, in case you don't see me around", she walked towards the door.
"Right", he opened the door for her. "Careful. And don't do stupid things".
"Fifteen years old, you little shit", she chuckled. "We'll be fine", once outside, she turned to Joel one last time. "See ya".
"See ya".
As soon as the door was closed again, he let out a heavy sigh. Maybe Ellie was right. He was overthinking, letting the situation take over his actions. Perhaps it was time for him to begin accepting that he wasn't the same grumpy, cold hearted old man he used to be before meeting the girl. And now you, too, were turning his heart into mush.
The sound of other people walking and chattering outside his house took him back to reality once more. Dinner time. He then remembered he was supposed to go to your place and accompany you to the canteen like every night. He sighed again and took his jacket before walking outside, praying it all wouldn't be half as uncomfortable as it had been a few hours ago.
He knocked softly on your door. A thousand thoughts crossed his mind when he heard your "Comin'!" from inside the house, one of them being you without clothes having come straight out of the shower, his knocking startling you and making you hurry up to meet him at your door. Damn, what was wrong with him? He didn't have thoughts like this, at least hadn't ever since he lost Tess. But this wasn't her. It was you, his friend, who he had met just a few months ago, someone who Joel wasn't supposed to feel something for.
"Hey", you came out of the house and quickly closed the door. Joel immediately stepped back to give you space. Your chest started to hurt as you felt the awkwardness of the situation returning.
"Hey", he answered. "Did I interrupt somethin'? Someone in there with ya?", he smiled, but not too deep inside him he was praying you'd say no.
"No! 'Course not, who d'you think I am?", you laughed. Joel laughed as well, hoping it was true. What he didn't know is that you were trying your hardest to make him believe you, really believe you, but without sounding desperate or anything. Because you weren't.
"Ready for dinner?".
"Sure", you put on your jacket. "You feelin' better?".
"Define better", he chuckled.
"Well, y'know, compared to how you were after bein' attacked by a horde of infected...".
"Oh yeah. Yeah, I'm good... Doin' good...", he trailed off. "You?".
"Good", you nodded.
The rest of the walk to the canteen was silent, and awkward. Both of you wanted to do something about it. But before you realized you were already done eating. You didn't spot Ellie before leaving the canteen, but Joel told you about her spending the night with one of her friends and that you'd probably see her next day. So he accompanied you home, again in silence.
You encountered Tommy halfway to your house. Joel stopped him and ran up to him.
"You have a moment?", he said to his brother in a whisper, so you couldn't hear. Tommy looked at him in confusion, but he nodded. Joel turned to you. "You think you can walk home on your own?".
"Sure", you chuckled nervously. "What you guys plannin', huh?".
"No evil plans, promise", Joel laughed back. "I'll see ya tomorrow. G'night".
"Night", you smiled at Joel. "Night, Tommy", you nodded in his direction.
"Night".
You turned around and walked to your house. Somehow, the fact that Joel had run to Tommy like that and then disappeared with him made you think he didn't want to walk home with you. Shit, maybe you did fuck up back at the village. Now Joel would be all uncomfortable around you for... ever, probably.
As soon as you got home, you jumped on the bed and screamed against the pillow for being so stupid. Though in the midst of all your grief, you had the hope Joel would forget about it after sleeping, and everything would be better the next day.
But Joel didn't sleep that night.
Tumblr media
"The fuck's wrong with me, Tommy?", Joel spoke almost to himself.
"Hold your horses, big brother", Tommy closed the door behind him. "From the beginnin', what happened?".
Joel sighed.
"It was today", his voice was trembling, even though he was trying his best to keep it normal. "He and I were searchin' one of the cabins down and–", he was forced to stop and take a breath. "I got attacked n' he saved me", he sighed again. "Fuckin' infected", he mumbled under his breath.
"Alright. And?".
"And then he was so worried about me, thought I had been bitten or somethin'... He looked so... He was so close...".
"Joel, you do realize you're sayin' nothin' at all?", Tommy sat beside him. Joel sighed once more, this time more shakily.
"He... He stood there in front of me... and he was so close I could almost...", he let out a nervous chuckle. "Fuck me, I don't know why the fuck I'm talkin' 'bout this with ya".
Tommy looked at his brother in total confusion, then his eyes opened wide as realization hit him.
"No way", he held onto the armrest of his couch. "Joel, you're–".
"Jesus fuckin' Christ, Tommy. You really have to say it out loud?", Joel covered his face and sighed heavily. "I don't know what the fuck I'm gonna do...", he groaned to himself.
Tommy took a moment to think.
"You like him, don't ya?", he say in the softest way he could. Joel nodded.
"He's the first friend I've had since Tess. Since... forever", he took a deep breath. "What do I do, Tommy?".
Tommy thought again before answering his brother. And he hoped you wouldn't kill him.
"You don't be that afraid, big brother", he put a hand on Joel's shoulder. "He likes ya, too".
Joel looked at him with even more confusion than his brother before. How could he know? How could he be so sure about about it? Was it so obvious to his brother and so oblivious to him? Maybe he was turning blind with age as well.
"I'm not s'posed to say this, but he talked to me some months ago, back when you first arrived in town", Tommy sighed. "He said he liked ya even before breakout. He ever told you we were neighbors?", he chuckled.
Joel stayed static for a while, trying to process everything his brother had just said. You liked him. You actually liked him! An old, deaf, slow man like him. Damn, that was probably the best day he'd had in more than twenty years. He didn't even know how to react. Should he approach you? Maybe you wouldn't want him in that way after these months, but then why had you gone and talk to him when he got back? Maybe you did like him when you first talked that day, but you didn't see him respond after that and so you stopped liking him.
"Hell, he did", was his answer to his brother's question. He almost pulled it off automatically while he kept overthinking it all. "What do I do?", he said almost in a whisper. He was so ashamed that this was happening to him for the first time in decades and he didn't know what to do.
"First of all, don't ya go n' overthink that shit all night", Tommy said, seeming to be reading his mind. "Ellie knows 'bout this stuff, right? Why don't ya ask her?".
Joel thought about it for a moment. It wasn't a really bad idea, but it was Ellie. It was more of a matter of pride than anything else. Ellie would make fun at him and she'd be reminding him of the day he needed her help for the rest of his life. And even worse: it was a romantic urgency. If there was anything more embarrassing for him than to be half-deaf it was this kind of stuff.
"I don't know about that—".
"Shut the fuck up, put your pride aside n' ask her!", Tommy talked as if he was reading Joel's mind again. "The worst that could happen is that your big boy ego gets hurt. Honestly, if I were you I would already be walkin' outta here n' to Ellie's".
Joel stayed silent for a while again, weighing his options.
"Y'know what? Maybe you're right", he got up. "Gonna go talk to Ellie".
"That's my big bro!", Tommy palmed his back. "Growin' a pair like a big boy, you tell 'em!".
"A'right, now you're gettin' way too excited", Joel hit his brother's shoulder a little more aggressively in response. "Say hi to that wife o' yours from me", he walked to the door.
"Will do", Tommy went up to him and gave him a last good luck before closing the door after him.
Joel wasted no time and walked straight to Ellie's place. He was aware of her spending the night with her friend, but he still hoped to find her there, since his situation was of great urge.
He knocked on the door right before thinking about it all again. Maybe it was a stupid idea, a really bad one. Yeah, Ellie would spend the rest of his days left making fun of him—
"The fuck do you—", Ellie stopped herself when he saw who it was. "Oh hey", she corrected herself immediately after. "You okay? It's like midnight already".
"I should say the same thing to ya. You're goin' on your first patrol day tomorrow mornin' ", Joel tried to look angry.
"You're not here to tell me that, are you?", she smirked. Joel sighed.
"Damn, 'course not, but still—".
"Stop shittin' me, it's too late", she crossed her arms. "What d'you want?".
"I...", he sighed in exasperation. "We need to talk".
"Now?".
"Better be now".
Ellie sighed as well. Joel heard her talking with who he assumed was her friend before grabbing a jacket and closing the door.
"Alright, what is it?", she put on her jacket.
"I'll try to make it fast", he put his hands on his hips. "Remember that guy I usually go on patrol with?".
"Uhum...".
"I like him", he spit it out like it hurt him to say that. Ellie smirked once more.
"You finally realized, good job!", she said with a mocking tone.
"How do I ask him out?", Joel panicked. On the other hand, the kid seemed to be enjoying the situation.
"Forward, I like it", she swallowed and thought for a moment, crossing her arms. "How 'bout you invite him to a drink at your place of something? You have any stuff like that?".
He thought of all the bottles of wine you had found that day on your patrol. Good thing you decided to keep them to yourselves.
"Yeah", he breathed out. Why did it all seem like a perfectly planned heist? "What do I say to him?".
"I don't know...", Ellie stopped to think again. "Try telling him how you feel, but subtly. Think you can do that?".
"How the fuck do I tell him how I feel, subtly?", he used a stupid voice to imitate the girl.
"Looks, old man. It's all in the body language. The more you're babblin' over him, the more he'll see you're into him".
"Goddammit, this is so stupid...", he laughed in disbelief and pinched the bridge of his nose at the girl's words. She just shrugged.
"It works for me", she put a hand on Joel's shoulder. "Don't worry. If he likes you back, you won't have any trouble with anything".
Joel took a deep breath. She was right and he hated to admit it. The whole situation was so ridiculous to him that he felt older than he already did.
"Fine", he shifted weight from one leg to another. "Guess I'll have to try".
"That's the spirit!", Ellie hit his shoulder. "Glad I could help".
"Yeah, thanks", he scanned her upside down. "Get some sleep. You're comin' with us tomorrow".
"What?!".
"Yeah. And not a word 'bout this all or guitar lessons are over".
"Dammit, Joel", she turned around and got inside the house, shutting the door as soon as she was in.
"Thanks!", Joel shouted one last time.
Tumblr media
You woke up to a knock on your door. An insistent, firm knock. You searched inside your memories to try and identify the person responsible for it.
He got up as quickly as your body allowed you to. Your body was still heavy from what happened last day, so you couldn't get up as fast as you usually did. You opened the door, the person behind it confusing and surprising you, making you weak at the knees.
"Joel", you smiled and tried to keep it cool, like usual. "Mornin' ", you let out a nervous giggle. The winter morning cold suddenly pierced your body and gave you chills. "Shit, wanna come in? S'cold out there".
"Nah, 's okay", he smiled back, but only for a brief moment. "Jus' wanted to tell you Ellie's comin' on patrol today".
"With us?".
Joel nodded.
"First day she's gotta stick with her old man, huh?", you put on your jacket.
"Yeah", Joel didn't react to your comment the way you expected, which made you suspect something was wrong. "I ate already, so you can go eat on your own. I'll go tell Ellie the basics for patrolling. Meet you later at the stables?".
Okay, he didn't wait to have breakfast with you. Something was definitely wrong.
"You got it", you forced a smile
"Good", he did, too. "See ya later", he walked away, not giving you time to even say goodbye back.
You spend the walk to the canteen and your breakfast time trying to find the reason why Joel was acting like that first thing in the morning. Maybe that was just his morning mood but you had never seen it because he was trying to be nice. Or maybe it all continued to be uncomfortable after last day's events. Or maybe you just didn't know him enough and that was just how he usually was.
Or maybe...
He had disappeared from your side when he went talk to Tommy that last night, and casually after that he starts acting weird. Could it be...? No, Tommy was your friend, he wouldn't do that to you. Or so you hoped.
You met Joel and Ellie at the stables like he said you all would. The girl greeted you with a single "Hi there", and then smirked at you as if she was planning something. You didn't give it much importance, tough.
"Ready?", Joel talked to you. You nodded. He then turned to Ellie. "You stay close to us at every moment. What do I always say?".
"What you say goes", she answered monotonously, as if she was used to saying that to Joel every single day.
"Good. And if I tell you to stay with him", he pointed at you; "what he says goes".
"Sure".
She mounted the horse right after Joel, sitting behind him. You hoped on your own horse and followed after them when they exited the stables and the town.
You followed the path you had gone through the previous day, though this time you skipped the village —telling Ellie a summary about what had happened and what you had found that other day— and kept going north. This time, you didn't find any interesting thing and just stayed on the horses as you cleaned the area of any infected —though there were none of them.
You went back to Jackson with empty hands, and especially you came back feeling sick as hell. Joel had been dozed off all the time, looking as if he was trying to avoid you. He barely even talked to you —he saved his voice for Ellie, only stopping to explain and show her how to do something. All that —added to the previous day's awkward events— made things clear for you: Joel didn't like you back, and Tommy had something to do with it all.
As soon as the three of you were back in Jackson and in your respective houses, you went straight to Tommy's and knocked on his door as roughly as you could.
"Comin'!", he shouted angrily from the other side. "Goddamn kids can't knock nice n'—", he opened the door. Before he could keep talking, you grabbed him by the neck of his jacket and pinned him to the wall.
"The fuck did you tell Joel?!", you spat on his face.
"Hey, calm down!", he threw his hands up.
"Why did you do it?! You piece of shit, I'm gonna fuckin'—".
"What the fuck!", Maria yelled from inside the house. You looked at her for a moment before letting go of Tommy. "What's wrong with you?!", she approached Tommy. "You good?".
"Yeah, I'm fine", he looked at you. "I told him what he needed to know".
"What 'bout what I needed him to not know?", you started walking towards him again. "You're fuckin'—".
"Don't you dare give one more step", Maria stood between you two.
You looked at her, then at Tommy. Your chest hurt and your knees were weak. Suddenly, your whole body started feeling even sicker.
"Don't fuckin' talk to me, ever again", you spat to Tommy once last time before turning around and going back to your house.
You spent the entire afternoon curled up in your bed, pressing your hands against your stomach to try and ease the pain and nausea, not even getting up to have dinner at the canteen. You hated yourself for being so stupid to even allow you to have feelings for a man that didn't want you back, and for having told someone —no matter how good of a friend he was— about those feelings. Not even after breakout had you been more fucked up than right now.
A knock on your door scared you, making you jump a little from your position.
"Not feeling' good", you shouted as loud as you could.
"It's me!", you recognized Joel's voice outside your door. You immediately got up and went open it for him.
"Hey", you mumbled.
"Ya good?", he scanned you upside down. "You didn't come have dinner".
"I know, sorry. Wasn't feelin' like eatin', my stomach hurts".
"Want me to go ask Maria for some pills or—".
"No, don't worry, I'm fine", you leaned on your doorframe. "D'you want anythin'?".
"Actually, I wanted to ask ya... Remember all that wine we found yesterday?".
You nodded.
"Well, uh... I was thinkin'... It can't go to waste more than it already is, and since we wanted to keep it a secret between us... How 'bout we drink a little?", he crossed his arms, then uncrossed them and put his hands on his back.
"Uh...", you thought for a while. "You mean—".
"Get a bit drunk. Maybe. At my place tomorrow night", he spoke rapidly. "If... that's good with ya", he stared into your eyes and scanned your features like he had done the previous day, back at the village.
"Yeah", you sounded confused at first, but eventually smiled inevitably. "Yeah, I'd like that".
Joel smiled too, even though he was trying his best to hide it.
"Good...", he giggled nervously. So did you. "Maybe we can go there after dinner".
"Sure. I'll try to wear somethin' nice", you said with a mocking tone.
"Oh, we have to wear somethin' nice?", he laughed defiantly. "You're gonna shit you pants".
"We'll see", you laughed, too. You stood a while in silence, just looking at each other with smiles on your lips. "See you tomorrow for patrol", you finally spoke.
"Actually, Ellie's gonna take my place tomorrow. Maria says I need a rest".
"That motherfucker", you bite your tongue in rage. "Fine, then. I'll go see you when Ellie and I are back".
"Right", he smiled one last time. "See ya tomorrow".
"See ya".
You closed the door and quickly went to watch through your window, like you did every day, until you lost sight of him.
Maybe Joel did like you after all.

You fiddled with your ring, staring blankly at the wall. You had just gotten home from a mission, and needed some time to rest up.
The mission had gone well, you went with Natasha. Your task was to stop a HYDRA attack on civilians. Everything went as planned, and there were no casualties.
Now that you were back, all you wanted to do was rest up and relax.
So, you did just that.
You only woke a few hours later because of Natasha calling you, saying that you had to debrief the mission.
So you reluctantly got out of bed, and made your way to the meeting room.
Fury was there, reading files, and Natasha sat in her usual seat. Her face lit up when you walked in, then she waved and motioned for you to sit down.
As Fury started going over the mission, you just gave short, straight to the point answers to his questions.
It wasn’t until Natasha gave a detailed summary that he let you leave.
While walking out the room, she stopped you.
“Are you going to Tony’s party tonight?”
“Wanda’s making me,”
She laughed, knowing that you most definitely would not be going to a social gathering unless one of your friends forced you.
“Well, I think it’ll be fun. I’ll see you there,”
You were about to shrug and go on a rant about how Tony’s parties were very much overrated, but she simply waved goodbye and made her way down the hallway back to her room.
You were about to do the same before you felt someone tap your arm from behind.
You whipped around, then grinned to see Carol.
“You’ve been back and haven’t seen me yet?”
“Sorry…” you muttered, suddenly feeling guilty.
“You can make it up to me by getting me food,”
You rolled your eyes, then agreed, knowing you would get yourself food too.
She gave you a satisfied smile before beginning to walk down the steps towards the garage of cars.
She stepped into the driver’s seat of course, while you followed behind in the passenger’s seat.
“IHOP?” She asked, despite the fact that it was 3:00 in the afternoon.
“Yes!”
“Great, you’re buying!”
You rolled your eyes, already knowing she would say that.
“So how’d the mission go?” She asked.
“It was fine, nothing exciting happened.
“As soon as we convince Fury to let you come to space with me for missions, things will get a lot more exciting for you,”
You smiled, then chuckled at her statement.
She would talk to you about space all the time, and you had often expressed interest in it. So she took it upon herself to make a slideshow presentation about why you should be allowed to go with her to space. It still needed some work, but she was absolutely planning on presenting it to Fury when it was done.
“Where will you take me?”
“Well we’d start off with something close, maybe not exit the galaxy neighborhood quite yet,”
You laughed again, looking forward to your space adventures with your best friend.
-
Carol had eaten about a quarter of her food before she broke the silence,
“So I heard you tell Natasha that you’re going tonight,”
“Yeah,” you said with a shrug, choosing to stare at your pancakes instead of making eye contact.
“Well that’s good, maybe you guys can talk and…”
“And what?” You were beginning to get a little irritated.
“Oh come on! We both know how you feel. Why can’t you just talk with her about it?”
“You know why, Carol,” you said as you subconsciously began to fidget with the black ring you always wore on the middle finger of your right hand.
She sighed, not wanting to fight you on this. So she went back to eating her pancakes, and didn’t say another word about it to you.
-
As you reluctantly promised, you were at the party that night. Not wanting to engage too much, you stood off at the edge of the room, taking a small sip of your drink.
Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed Wanda and Natasha talking. You thought nothing of it, until you saw Wanda wink at her.
You turned your head to the side, then accidentally made eye contact.
Quickly shifting your gaze to the floor, you took another sip of your drink to hide your embarrassment.
You then decided to walk away, not wanting to create any more awkward tension.
You made your way into the next room until you almost bumped into Sam, who gave you a weird look as he stepped away from you.
“You alright, L/N?” He asked.
“I’m good!” You told him, quickly walking away.
When you finally got to the corner of the other room, you took a deep breath. You finally let yourself relax against the wall, away from the person you wanted to avoid tonight.
You closed your eyes for a minute, pretending you weren’t here.
For just a moment, it worked; you weren’t a loud, crowded party. You were just happy in your room watching movies and eating popcorn. No one was bothering you, and you didn’t have to worry about anything.
Unfortunately, your moment didn’t last.
Your eyes opened again when you heard your name called several times. Standing in front of you, was Natasha.
You noticed both Wanda and Carol standing at the door, watching the both of you.
“Hi, Y/N,” she said, her voice shakier than normal. “There’s something I wanted to talk to you about, can we talk somewhere more private?”
You nodded, then began to follow her back the way you came until you were in another hallway that didn’t have anyone in it.
“Y/N,” she began. “I’ve always liked you as a person, I think you’re brilliant on the field, and I just love being around you. I feel these things around you, and it’s scary. But there’s something between us, I can feel it, and I think you feel it too. I’d like to explore these feelings, so… would you want to go out together… on a date?”
You let out a sigh as your heart dropped. You felt tears coming to your eyes as you thought about what she was saying to you. As much as it would hurt both of you, you had to do it.
“I’m really sorry, Natasha, but no. I can’t.”
“Oh-” she was taken aback from your response, unable to hide the disappointment in her voice. “This was stupid, you’re right. I’m sorry for even asking in the first place, I-” she couldn’t even finish her sentence before walking off, leaving you alone.
-
Two days later, Natasha had barely left her room. She stayed under the covers, mostly trying to sleep. Of course, it eventually turned into hours of staring at the ceiling while her stomach was in knots.
So, she took a sip from the bottle of vodka she brought up to her room, and leaned back against the headboard.
As soon as she felt tears forming in her eyes, she grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. She watched the saddest movies and TV shows she could think of, and ended up finishing the entire bottle.
If she was going to be sad and cry, it would be from too much drinking while watching sad stuff. It wouldn’t be from you. Natasha refused to let herself cry over a simple rejection.
But it wasn’t a simple rejection.
She’s had these feelings for you for months.
Your smile has made her heart flutter since your first mission with her. She vividly remembers the way your eyes lit up when you found out you were paired with her.
The two of you ended up working so well together. At the end of the mission, you held both your hands up for a double high five. The gesture confused her at first, but she eventually gave in and placed her hands against yours. That’s when you gave her the same smile that still gives her butterflies.
She didn’t even start to notice it until a few months ago, when Clint called her out on it. He noticed that your name was brought up in their conversations a lot. So he blatantly asked her what her feelings for you were.
Of course, she denied everything at first. You were just a friend who was nice to work with. Nothing more.
She didn’t fully realize it until Wanda called her out on it too.
You were eating breakfast, and Natasha’s eyes never left you. You exchanged smiles a few times, and the butterfly feeling in her stomach kept growing.
Wanda saw, feeling a smile grow on her face as she glanced between the two of you. Of course, her powers made this even more fun for her.
While she didn’t usually like to invade people’s private thoughts, especially her friends’, Natasha’s thoughts were loud. Yours too.
So after you got up, and waved goodbye to the both of them, Wanda immediately cornered Natasha. Normally, she wouldn’t do something like that to the assassin, but she felt okay with it considering that her thoughts of you softened her up a bit.
“So, when are you planning on asking Y/N out?” She asked her.
“What are you talking about?”
“You guys would make such a good couple, you should ask her out!”
“Absolutely not! We’re just friends,”
Wanda let out a huff, then rolled her eyes.
“You seem to forget that I’m a telepath,”
This time, Natasha rolled her eyes at her.
“Stay out of my head, Maximoff,”
And with that, she walked away, not wanting to talk about it any longer.
Of course, Wanda had other plans.
The next week, she made mental notes of how the two of you would interact. No matter how much you both denied it, she knew you had feelings for each other.
While you smiled around everyone, you smiled the most around her. Your eyes would light up, and you’d be grinning from ear to ear. And your smile would usually cause her to reciprocate it. She rarely smiled, but she was okay with you seeing her smile.
On top of that, Wanda noticed all the small gestures you would do for each other.
She would pack your bag for missions often, and you would share your food with her.
While both of those things could be seen as platonic, she knew better. You definitely had feelings for each other.
So when she brought it up to Natasha again, she couldn’t even deny it this time.
“Tell anyone, and I’ll make you feel pain you didn’t even know could be felt,” Natasha threatened her.
Wanda nodded, promising that she only wanted to help her.
Eventually, the assassin gave in and let her plan the whole thing out.
It would work out in the end, it had to.
-
Now, Natasha let out a growl of frustration as Wanda entered her room.
“Can you at least knock?”
“I’m worried about you, Nat,”
Despite her glares, Wanda continued walking towards her until she sat down on the foot of her bed.
“Why do you even care? You lied to me, you said it would work!”
“I really thought it would, I’m so sorry. But you can’t keep yourself locked in here, we’re all worried about you,”
“I can’t face her after I humiliated myself like that. Why would you tell me she had feelings for me too? You said you could tell from her thoughts, but she clearly doesn’t see me that way. Now I’ve probably ruined my friendship with her too.”
“I don’t know why that happened,”
“Please, just leave me alone.”
Letting out a disappointed sigh, Wanda realized this would get her nowhere. Natasha still needed a bit more time.
As she saw her friend leave the room, she finally allowed the tears to fall again.
She hated herself for it, but maybe she actually was crying over you.
-
It wasn’t like you were doing any better.
You only left your room to train with Carol, and to bring food back up to your room since you didn’t want to eat with everyone else.
You couldn’t help but notice the way Wanda glared at you when you passed her in the hallway. You ended up glaring right back, surprised by her sudden hostility towards you.
The two of you had been relatively close, but she was especially close with Natasha. You knew you had hurt her with your rejection, but in the end, you were doing her a favor.
She’d understand that eventually, and hopefully, so would Wanda.
For now, you lay in bed. You were clinging tightly onto your pillow, letting a few sobs escape.
Even though you knew the rejection was for the best, for both you and Natasha, it didn’t make it hurt any less.
You were only saving the both of you from future heartbreak. It would be worth it eventually. Soon enough, you’d both get over it and go back to being the friends you once were.
However, now you continued crying into your pillow.
You wished you could just turn feelings on and off with a switch, but you couldn’t. It would make things so much easier if these feelings didn’t exist in the first place.
You had tried to suppress and deny them at first.
You ignored the way you felt yourself smiling more at her. You ignored the way you felt like you were on top of the world when she returned your smile. You ignored the way your stomach turned into a knot of nerves whenever you touched; whether it was a full on hug or just fingers brushing past each other in the hallway.
When she sat next to you on movie night though, closer than she normally did, that’s when you realized you couldn’t ignore the feelings anymore.
You wanted to completely close the distance between the two of you, and snuggle completely into her. You wanted to kiss her, and hold her tight. You wanted everything to do with her.
But you couldn’t have her, and it hurt like hell.
-
After another two days, Carol came barging into your room.
“Y/N, what the fuck?” She said, getting straight to the point.
Your eyes widened, but you said nothing as she sat down and glared at you.
“You’ve been sulking for days, and haven’t done anything about it,”
You shrugged, sinking back father into the bed.
“What do you want me to do?”
“Talk to her!”
“No! I’m just gonna stay here until my feelings go away,”
“Y/N, I love you, platonically, but sometimes you’re the dumbest person I know,”
“Thanks, Carol,”
“Your feelings aren’t gonna magically go away like that. If you don’t wanna date her, then at least talk to her so you can both have some closure on this!”
“I can’t, she’d never understand and it’d just be a whole thing, and I don’t want that,”
“You explained it to me and I understood,”
“Well yeah, cuz it doesn’t affect you at all. It affects her because it’s the reason I can’t be with her,”
“Have you ever thought to consider that maybe she wouldn’t mind?”
“Of course she’d mind, Carol,”
Sighing, your best friend decided she wasn’t gonna win this battle today.
Despite her anger towards you, she still reached over and hugged you before getting up and leaving.
Once again, you were left alone in your own misery.
You began to fidget with your ring, staring at the flag on your wall. The black, grey, white, and purple colors stood out against the wall, adding a nice touch to your room.
You were obviously proud and unashamed of who you were, but that didn’t change the fact that so many people didn’t understand it. So it was just easier to not bring it up. Maybe one day you could find someone like you, who’d understand.
Tears began to fill your eyes as you thought about Natasha. You hated that you had to do this.
You weren’t even sure if you would be able to salvage your friendship at the end of this. That just made everything worse.
You lay back down again, clinging onto the pillow once more.
You remembered the way you felt when Natasha first smiled at you. You remembered the happiness she made you feel. You remembered just how much you wanted to be around her.
Luckily, your thoughts of misery finally stopped when you managed to fall asleep.
-
The next day, Carol dragged you out of your room. Literally dragged, she grabbed both your wrists and pulled you out of the bed until you hit the floor.
“Ow! What the fuck?”
“No more sulking, you’re getting up and not coming back to your room until tonight. Let’s go,”
You sighed in defeat, then stood up, following her out of your room.
She dragged you downstairs to the kitchen, where she already had breakfast laying out for you.
As annoyed as you were with her, you definitely thought it was sweet that she was going through all this effort for you.
So you sat down and began eating, forcing a smile. You were still hurting, but for now, you could fake it in front of your friend.
She sat down next to you, and seemed satisfied.
You gave a small smile, then continued eating.
It was progress.
-
When Natasha finally came down, you were the last person she expected to see. Her bloodshot, puffy eyes widened as she saw you with Carol.
She immediately looked away, not wanting to face you, especially like this.
Unfortunately for her, you had already made eye contact for a moment. You took in her appearance, letting out a deep exhale.
She refused to say anything, then turned around as if she had never been there in the first place.
As soon as she left, you turned back to Carol.
“I really messed up, didn’t I?”
-
As much as the logical part of your mind tried to convince you not to do this, the other part was currently making you.
So now, you stood outside Natasha’s bedroom, hand hovering over the door, prepared to knock.
You took in a few deep breaths, trying to prepare yourself. Just as you were about to knock, the door swung open before you were ready.
“Y/N?” Natasha didn’t expect to see you after what happened. “What are you doing?”
“Can we please talk?”
She frowned, thinking about what happened the last time you two talked. But, she opened the door wider, letting you in.
You walked over to her bed, waiting for her to nod, giving you permission to sit down.
“I just wanted to start off by saying that I’m really sorry for this, for hurting you like that,”
“You don’t need to apologize. You can’t change how you feel.”
“I know, but here’s the thing; I have feelings for you too,”
Her eyes widened in both shock and confusion.
“Then why’d you say no?”
You took in a few more deep breaths, preparing yourself.
“I’m asexual,” you finally got out. “While I feel romantic attraction to you, and really like you, I’m not sexually attracted to you. I’m not sexually attracted to anyone.”
She tilted her head to the side, but continued listening as you went on.
“So as much as I do like you, it’s not fair for us to be together. You deserve someone who can give you everything you want and need in a relationship, and I can’t do that.” You told her, trying to prevent yourself from crying. “No matter how much I love you, I won’t be enough,”
That’s what broke you, causing the tears to stream down your face as they had so many times within the past few days. Telling her everything you had been thinking, and finally getting it out.
You noticed a few tears forming in her eyes as she sat down next to you, wrapping her arm around your shoulder.
“Thank you for telling me,” she said. “I wish you had told me earlier, though,”
“I know, I’m sorry,”
“You’re wrong though,”
“About what?”
“You are enough for me, Y/N. I don’t care about sex, I just want you.”
“Really? You mean it?”
“Of course I do,”
You let out a gasp, then turned and wrapped both your arms around her, leaning in between her chest and neck.
“You’re okay with kisses though, right?”
You smiled, then leaned in and crashed your lips against hers. That certainly answered her question.
It felt like a weight was lifted off the both of you. You loved being like this with her, lips connected and arms wrapped around one another. You never wanted to let go.
When you had to break apart for air, Natasha smirked at you.
“So how about that date now?”

idk if you’re taking mad thomas requests but if you are can i request i’ve where he likes reader because she’s the only one who doesn’t treat him like a outcast and isn’t repulsed by him like the other townsfolk
This ask was so sweet here you go :)
Kind Gestures (Mad Thomas x Fem!Reader)
Warnings: tooth-rotting fluff, developing relationship, confessions, mentions of drinking, partying and taking the berries, outcast!Thomas,
Word Count: 1.6k
Tumblr media
"Good day, Thomas. Rough night?" You asked, looking down at where he laid on the hay covered ground.
Thomas, or Mad Thomas as the townspeople called him, was a man who was drunk more often than not. And, when he wasn't, it was usually because he had just woken up.
You were in your father's chicken coup, ready to finish your morning chores, but a familiar man was sleeping in it. He blinked up at you, and reached to rub his eyes. Silently, you were relieved. When you'd walked in and a chicken had been pecking at him, you'd almost thought him dead. From the way he shielded his eyes, you guessed the streams of sunlight were probably too much for the headache he had, and you watched as he smacked his lips. You asked,
"Thirsty?" And he squinted his eyes up at you and said a simple,
"Aye." You gave him a smile, and reached for your pouch. He sat up, groaning as he did, before he took it from you. You watched as he took a swig, and silently you wondered when the last time he drank any water was. You didn't say a word as he finished the pouch, and you took it back as you said,
"I don't mind you sleeping here, but I'm sure my father would." You started, walking away to begin checking each of the baskets to see if they had anything for you this morning. "There's some breakfast left if you're hungry." You offered, hoping that would stir him enough to get up.
You smiled to yourself when you heard the rustle of clothes, and you glanced over to watch him as he stood. Finally, he said,
"I don't need your charity." And your smile only grew. After all the years of you offering things to him, it was almost a tradition now. A routine. You placed the eggs in your basket, and looked over at him as you said,
"Think of it as a kind gesture." And you watched the corner of his lips turn up.
***
Your head turned when you heard someone clear their throat, and your eyes glanced down first to the wildflower someone was holding out for you. Quickly, your eyes flicked up, and, to your surprise, it was Thomas that was offering it to you.
"Yes, Thomas?" You asked him, a flicker of confusion went through your face, before you placed your bucket on the well. You took the flower, and watched as his shoulders relaxed. It was a strange sight, a sight that made you wonder.
"Just- For you." He said, waving at the thing. You smiled, quickly guessing that it was a repayment for this morning. You gave him a nod in thanks, and he turned away. You watched him stumble, and, immediately, you wrote it off. It made you smile to yourself a bit at the gesture, and you placed it in the strap of your apron as you went back to drawing water from the well.
You weren't alone for long. Couldn't be, in a town as small as Union. Lizzie was quick to come up to you, to grab your arm and whisper,
"What was that?" And you gave her a look. She was the towns gossip, and one of your friends. You knew she'd seen Thomas give you the flower, but, as you reached down to touch it, you couldn't find a thing wrong with the gesture.
"He was just giving me a gift, Lizzie. Nothing more." You told her, but you watched the way disgust clouded her face. You frowned, watching as she glanced over at the man. You loved her, dearly, but you wished the people of Union weren't so plagued with distaste for him.
"Looks as if he was trying to court you." She commented, and the idea- Well, it struck you. You glanced down at the flower, then at Thomas. He had been strange, hadn't he? You thought to yourself, but quickly discarded the idea. He wouldn't. The idea was preposterous. "Next, you'll be inviting him to the full moon." She said, and you lifted a brow at her, at the idea. It wasn't a bad one. And, maybe it was what everyone needed to finally understand him. You looked over at her, giving her a small smile. You watched how her face fell, watched the small shake she gave you. "No." But you continued to stare. "No!" She shout-whispered, but all you did was tilt your head and look away. "Tell me you won't!" She demanded, her voice hushed. You could feel her stare, even as you made the plans to invite him before nightfall. You didn't say a word as you untied your bucket.
***
All of the children were celebrating on the full moon. Or, well, the ones caught between youth and adulthood. And, well, only the ones that were invited.
You all went to a clearing in the woods, where you could drink, eat, and have fun without the watchful eyes of your parents, or those that would tell your parents.
You liked to think that that was the only reason Thomas had never been invited.
"Don't you know they won't want me there, girl?" Thomas asked as he followed you through the forest. It'd been easy to find him, but surprisingly hard to convince him. He trailed behind you as if he had other things he'd rather attend. You couldn't imagine he'd get much conversation from your chickens. The pair of you were already late just from having him trail behind, and you walked through the dark forest with only your lantern to guide you.
"That's not true, Thomas." You said, glancing behind you. You watched as he walked, as slow as a snake through the grass. He climbed past one of the trees, his hand on it as he stepped closer. He gave you a look, and you could already guess the words that were going to come out of his mouth.
"Liar." He said, pointing at you. His tone made you smile. You paused, giving him a look back as you waited for him to catch up. You stared at him as he did, watching him as he said, "Lying's a sin, you know." He said, and you scoffed a laugh. You hadn't realized how close he'd come until you felt his hand on your chin, and you were quick to look back to him. He was close, barely a step away, and, even in the dark, you could see his clear blue eyes staring straight at you. Practically as if they could look straight into your soul. "What is the truth then, girl?" He asked, and you stared up at him. You gulped, pushing away the flutter of nervousness the touch brought. The flutter in your stomach with him being so close. You looked away from him again, and took a step towards the trail. You didn't look at him as you said,
"I'd like you to be there." You said, and the words felt too honest on your tongue. Especially when you could see the gathering in this distance. Quickly, you added, "You can protect me from Caleb." To soften your admittance. You smiled when you heard him laugh, and you glanced behind you to see it on his face.
"If you wish to be protected, then why go? Why not stay home?" He said, and you felt his hand, large and warm, reach to hold your wrist. It was a bold gesture, and the pair of you paused. You could hear the sounds of music, see the firelight in the distance. You were only a little bit away from the party, and yet you felt as though there was a whole world between you when you looked back to him. His eyes were on you again, and you practically shrunk under their weight. Finally, you asked,
"Why follow me if you don't you want to go, Thomas?" It was a fair question, one you hadn't asked yet that night. Thomas didn't say anything for a moment, and you sucked in a small breath when he reached to brush your hair from your face. His hand was slow and gentle, his fingers brushing against your cheek as they did.
"You asked me." He said, and, for a moment, you didn't get his meaning. Then, you did. You thought maybe it was the drink, but you'd seen him drunk. You knew he was barely tipsy, sober enough to get through the forest. You opened your mouth to say something, but words escaped you. The only thing you could think of were Lizzie's words from earlier. Looks as if he was trying to court you. Finally, you asked,
"Why did you give me that flower?" It was the top of a list of things you'd never truly thought about. Why did he always find his sleep on your property? In places you'd find him? Why did he have breakfast with you more mornings than not? Why, whenever you looked for him, was he always there? And, with an amount of honesty you could never possess, he said,
"I like you." And your mouth fell for just a moment, just the tiniest bit. He continued, "You're kind to me. No one else is." And you were silenced by his confession. You stared at him, feelings roaring in your chest but your voice was missing. Thomas didn't seem to mind. He laughed a bit at your stunned face, before he glanced at the fire-light. Thomas let your wrist slip from his hand. "Come." He said, nodding towards the light. "They've already seen the lantern." He gestured for you to follow him towards the full moon celebration. And, for the first time, you truly didn't understand him.

Chapter 10 - Atlantis
You ignore the insinuating look Pietro gives you when he sees you leaving Wanda's room in the morning.
"Not a word." You warn threateningly as he raises his arms in surrender, holding back his laughter.
You turn and go back to your room, trying not to smile like an idiot as you prepare for the mission, and failing miserably.
You try not to think about last night, or the morning after, but the feel of Wanda's lips on your skin is all that comes to mind for the next few hours.
Even during breakfast, where after she stole a kiss on your cheek in the hallway before you guys joined the Avengers, and sat beside you at the table while Steve went over some details to everyone, all you could think about was the last night. In Wanda's taste, her hands inside…
"Stop it." She warns softly at your side. Lower enough so only you can hear, and not to get in the way of the captain's speech. You blink in confusion, and then you understand. Feeling your face heat up, you look at her with a mixture of surprise and indignation.
"You can...?"
"Yes, now eat in silence please." She interrupts in the same tone, equally embarrassed as she keeps her gaze on the plate in front of her.
"Wanda?" You try next. And she mutters under her breath, and then she realizes. She rolls her eyes, and goes back to eating. You smile. "I can't believe you didn't tell me you could hear thoughts."
"It was kind of obvious don't you think?" She retorts mentally. "My whole thing is mind control."
"Your whole thing is to be the love of my life." You tease and she chokes lightly on her coffee, making you hold back a laugh as you gently touch her back. She says she's fine softly, and Steve, who had given her a worried look, goes back to talking about planning for the defenses in Sokovia.
"When this is over, I want to try a few things." You mentally tell her and Wanda looks at you quickly before turning her attention back to Steve. You imitate the movement.
"We'll leave as soon as you finish eating." Steve says already getting up. You suddenly feel anxious.
Wanda notices the way your body has tensed, and looks at you immediately.
"Hey, everything okay?" she asks tenderly. You give her a weak smile, placing your hand on her thigh. Wanda puts her hand on top of yours.
"I'm nervous."
"Me too." She confesses. "But we'll be fine. I got you."
"And I got you."
//-//-//-////-//-//-////-//-//-////-//-//-////-//-//-////-//-//-////-//-//-////-//-//-////-//-//-//
As soon as you join the jet with the rest of the Avengers, you could already feel the control serum starting to wear off.
Sighing a little, you don't even have to ask to have Wanda's hand in yours. Her eyes and fingers glow red for a moment as she helps you, before returning to normal. You mumble a thanks, resting your back against the jet's wall.
"Remember what we trained, Avengers." Announces Steve upon entering. "Removing the civilians is the support team's priority, while Clint searches for Natasha. The strike team must deal with Ultron's guards."
"Yes, captain." The team says in understanding, and then the jet is leaving.
It takes ten minutes for Pietro to start teasing you.
"I hear we had a girls night yesterday." Commented the boy out loud, attracting the attention of Bruce and Bucky, who were standing next to you. Wanda glared at her brother.
"Pietro..."
"What is it, sestra? I’m just saying.”He joked. You wondered if you could throw him off the jet from that high. "I heard that this type of activity is a great stress reliever."
You felt your face heat up, and you sank into your seat. In the next second, the rest of the team understood. Clint whistled loudly, and Tony laughed. Bruce blushed and pretended to pay attention to his boots while Bucky giggled at Steve's embarrassed expression.
"Forgive me, I'm not following the reason for the humor in this conversation." Vision commented then.
"Don’t you dare." Wanda warned when he saw Pietro raise his hand to tell Vis what was being said, and the boy laughed before ducking.
Vision watched the interaction with confusion, but it was Tony who threw his arm around him.
"They had sex, champion." Tony announced, making you grunt in embarrassment. "I can't wait for Nat to know, she owes me fifteen bucks”.
“What?” Wanda asks, confused.
"Ah, it's just that before you arrived, the golden eyes there were always talking about you." Tony counts with irony. "How much she loved and missed a certain little witch and her inconvenient brother. So we made a bet that you two would work it out. I said it would happen before you went back to Sokovia, but Natasha thought Y/N was slower and would just work it out after we’re done with Ultron."
"Thanks for the faith, Tony." You mumble awkwardly, adjusting your posture. "Now if you don't mind, can you stop talking about my life?"
The team laughs but the comments about you and Wanda stops. Until you reach Sokovia, you spend your time playing with Wanda fingers as you both lay against each other's shoulders while listening to whenever small talk the Avengers build up.
Things get tense once you reach the country.
Steve signals that you arrive and starts moving around to get read for the jet to land.
You only let go of Wanda’s hand to put your suit on and once you’re done, she’s right in front of you, smiling tenderly as she puts a jacket on.
“Are you good?” She asks.
“Yes. You?”
“Yeah.” She aswerns as she moves forward to kiss you firmly on the mouth. It relaxes your body completely, and you keep your hands on top of hers that are on your face until you break the kiss.
You wish you could care about the teasing looks the team cast to you too, but all you see is Wanda.
//-//-//-////-//-//-////-//-//-////-//-//-////-//-//-////-//-//-//
You sat down quickly on the ground, your body against a wall, while trying to get your breathing back to normal.
Wanda was using her powers to get civilians out of their homes, and well, it took some of her magical attention away from you.
It didn't take long for you to be able to detect all the biological life around you again, meters and meters away, quickly feeling overwhelmed.
"How are we?" Steve asked over the communicator, probably already advancing with the rest of the team towards the former Hydra base. You looked up at the sky to get a quick glimpse of Tony flying in his suit before he vanished away.
"All right around here, Captain." Clint responded first followed by the rest of the team.
Your hesitation made Steve specifically call you, but before you could say anything, Wanda was kneeling beside you, one hand on your shoulder and the other on her communicator.
"We are good." She responded before turning her attention to you completely. You felt her magic envelop you quickly, your body relaxing. "How do you feel, dear?"
"Better now." You respond with a smile. "Thanks."
As she helped you to your feet, you noticed her worried expression, and placed a hand on her cheek.
"I'm fine Wanda, I promise."
"Just don't push too far, okay?" She asks. "You can go back to the jet whenever you want."
"I'll be okay, Wanda." You mumble. "Let's get this over with so we can go back to bed." You teases with a mischievous smile, stealing a kiss before walking away, giving her a wink before heading towards the rest of the civilians.
Ultron had better plans than this.
“We need to get everyone out of here immediately.” Tony told through the communicator. “A vibranium bomb. We don’t have time.”
“Working on it, iron boss.” You mock as you helped another family move out of their home. Just like, Pietro had already headed to police stations and hospitals to remove people from there. There was a large crowd of inhabitants heading out of town, but there were still many more.
Peace ended quickly.
Ultron activated the robot army, and they literally began to sprout from the ground.
"Bucky, we're going to need support here pal." Steve warned through the communicator while you were drawing your pistol to prevent one of the robots from advancing on you.
"On my way, cap." The soldier warned. "Just don't tell my therapist."
You and the team laughed lightly as you fought. The whole thing getting bigger and bigger every minute.
Wanda covered for you while you guided people out, but it was becoming untenable.
So, as soon as she tore apart the small group of Ultron’s army that was surrounding you two, you called her.
"You can't keep babysitting me , this is getting too bad." You warned, your voice almost muffled by the length of the fight. The robots flying above you, and Thor and Vision facing them in the sky.
"I won't leave you." She insisted seriously and you swallowed hard.
"Wanda..."
“End of discussion.”
“You are cute and all, it's just that we have a situation here. Mind getting back into the fight?" Natasha's voice interrupted the moment over the radio, sounding amused and teasing. You sighed with relief when you realized she was okay, and you exchanged one last look with Wanda before going back to fighting. “By the way, Tony said I lost the bet.”
“Please don’t bring this back.” You ask Natasha, that just laughs before hanging off, not without teasing you about being proud of you for making a move.
The ground shook beneath your feet, making it difficult for you to keep your balance.
"Guys, what's going on?" You asked through the communicator.
Sokovia is going for a ride.
Friday tells the whole team. You gasp in surprise, looking around.
The ground is breaking apart, and the city is rising into the air. You don't need your powers to know that not all buildings are empty. The debris will end up hurting someone.
And even with all that, the advances of Ultron's army get even worse.
You barely have time to duck before Wanda rips apart a robot that attacked you.
Clint catches up with you two the next second.
"We need to regroup, Tony needs us back there." He warns you. You frown.
"Not a chance, there are civilians all over the place." You say, moving quickly to fire at the machines that have appeared behind you.
"Well, we need the offensive back at the church." He counters. "That's where the bomb is."
"You two go then." You say when you finish shooting. Wanda, who has just destroyed three machines at once, turns to you in indignation.
"No."
But you don't look at her, you look at the blue flash figure approaching.
“Hey Peete, do you mind?” You shouted to him as he stopped next to you two. He nods at you before picking Wanda up, who has no time to complain. He teases Clint "Keep up, old man." before disappearing at high speed, making you laugh.
Clint looks at you.
“Are you sure?”
"It's my job to protect them.”
“The Maximoff or the civilians?” He mocks, making you roll your eyes.
“Go, Barton.”
It doesn't take long for your biological detection to come back.
You think you're going to pass out. But you take a deep breath, and stumble among cars and wrecking machines.
Calm down. You remember Wanda's soft voice in the glass room. The feel of her fingers on your skin. Calm down, I'm here. You can do this.
"I can do this." You mutter to yourself, trying to keep your balance.
You find a horde around the corner, almost close enough to a group of civilians coming out of the municipal hospital.
Ignoring the feeling of being overwhelmed at being able to feel the fear and despair of those people, you advance with the pistol in your hand.
The machines were destroyed, but not by you.
"You took your time, Barnes." You tease with a wry smile, rushing to help the civilians, feeling their superficial wounds before helping them. Bucky smiles and shrugs, a rifle in his hand as he gives you cover to help the population.
"Two minutes out here and I'm already missing my retirement." He comments as he fires, making you laugh, a bit breathless due your powers. Bucky notices right the way. "Are you all right?"
"I'm just considering retiring too after here." You retort by standing up again, helping the little girl who had bruises on her forehead to join the rest of the family. She smiles in thanks, but you're already walking away again, your head pounding from how many people you can feel at once.
You stumble around the rubble to the front of the municipal hospital. Ignoring the memories you have of the whole neighborhood, you try to focus on some group.
"Y/N, I think there are kids coming out of that corner!" Bucky unnecessarily warns you because you've already felt them.
You recognize Church clothes that the adults leading the group wear. They are coming from the Orphanage where you grew up.
You run to catch up to them, and it's the first time you've really noticed Ultron's cruelty. It's a horde that arises, and they notice you right away. The machine in front follows your gaze to the small group, and it has a chance to shoot only you, but it turns its mechanical hand, and aims directly at the kids.
You widen your eyes, feeling your heart race.
"NO!"
Something explodes in your chest. Everything turns golden before returning to normal color. You can’t see the golden wave that reaches the group because there’s a pain in the back of your head that makes you close your eyes tightly.
The robot fired, but if it weren't for the gunshot marks on the robes, no one would know as none of the civilians had any injury. The kids were wide-eyed, and you fell to your knees.
Bucky shot the machines before looking at you in amazement.
"How did you do that? They were practically a street away." He asked in shock, watching the nuns guide the kids to cover quickly, just as in shock as he was. Your lack of response alarmed him and he turned to face you quickly, touching your shoulder. "Y/N, you're bleeding..."
"I know." You grunt weakly, taking a deep breath as you lean on Bucky to get up. "Let 's keep going."
You wiped the blood running from your nose with your hand, but ignored the wet sensation in your ears. Bucky hesitated.
"No, you're not okay." He insisted. "Let's go back..."
"Let go of me, Bucky." You exclaimed angrily, pulling his hands away. "I heal, don't I? I'll be fine. Let's keep going."
"Y/N..."
But you are already walking. You can feel all the injured, and you need to keep going.
You help at least two more groups to shelter, until you're resting your hands on your knees and trying to stay on your foot.
You see your blood dripping to the ground, and you hear Bucky's footsteps approaching, so you wipe your face quickly while disguising the way your head is spinning.
"This isn't working Y/N." He says as he looks around at the wreckage. "These things seem to grow out of the ground, and there's no end to them. The city is too high right now and these people have nowhere to go."
You were going to agree with him, but something in the sky caught your eye.
"I think that's their ride." You say while pointing straight ahead.
It's a gigantic ship, flowing alongside the city. You and Bucky exchange a look, before he uses the communicator to confirm that this was a good thing.
With Shield providing shelter for civilians, you started running to help evacuate people from the floating capital of Sokovia.
Your head was spinning, and your feet were about to give up, but you forced yourself to continue.
Your body is shaking when you turn to help a boy who cut his leg.
"Ty angel, devochka? (are you an angel, lady?)" He asks, scared when you heal him and you give a weak laugh.
"Net, ya Avenger. (no, I’m an Avenger.)"
The wound isn't that big, but it's enough to rob the air of your lungs. Bucky guides the boy with the rest of the group back to the ship, and you can barely stand, your stomach turning.
You force yourself to get up. Just a bit longer.
Lifting your hand to your ear, you call out to Wanda while leaning on the car beside you so you don't fall to the ground.
"Wands?" You say wait for her to respond. She sounds worried when she says your name, but you just sigh. "Babe, when this is over, I'm taking you out on a date. Like the cliches we've never done before, okay?"
"Why are you talking like this?" She asked, scared. You can hear the background noises, the way she was probably keeping the bomb safe but facing Ultron's army. "Where are you?"
"I think we should try Disneyland too. Americans seem to love that." You continue as you begin to walk again. One hand on the tech inside your ear and the other in the wound in your belly, formed while you faced the last horde of robots, not healing anymore. "You would like a candlelight date with wine and music, wouldn’t you?"
"Please tell me where you are, I'll come to you." She begs through the radio and you smile before hanging up.
You saw Clint run further to the town.
You take a deep breath, rushing to catch up. You also see the jet Ultron stole rounding the city towards them, the rifles outside ready to aim.
That's why Clint ran there, to save one of the civilians left behind, you notice as you see the little boy on your friend's arm.
You try to do what you did before. Project your healing magic to them to keep them protected, but as you lift your hands to do that, all you feel is a sharp twinge in the middle of your chest and you almost fall to the ground.
Fine, I'll heal them myself. You think impatiently as you ignore your own limit and run.
You are almost there. But so is Ultron. If you stay up front, you think you can protect Clint and the civilian, you'd heal later, no problem.
“I’m gonna win.”
You widen your eyes in surprise when Pietro whispers in your ear, disappearing in his speed the next moment.
No. Don't do this.
You feel the shots before you hear them. You feel it through Pietro's body, who stepped forward to protect Clint.
You throw yourself forward, desperate.
You reach Pietro the second his heart stops beating.
"Piete?" You call to him as he falls into your lap. You can feel the air disappearing from his lungs, life fading away "Hey buddy, don't do that. Pietro! Please..."
You bury your face in his chest, trying to hear something. Anything. You press your hands against his chest next, then his face.
"Don't die on me, Pietro." You beg with a sob. You force your magic in despair. No matter how much it hurts, Pietro cannot die. He just can't.
You can only remember the skinny little boy running with you in your childhood. Laughing with you on the roof. Teaching you to fight.
Your tears mix up with your blood.
"Captain, we have a problem." Clint announces at your side.
No.
I'm not giving up.
You grunt in pain as you press your hands hard on Pietro's chest, your veins popping with a golden light. You're not dying on me.
Something starts to pulse in your head. Loud enough to completely disorient you. Your eyes are heavy, and you choke on your own blood coming out of your mouth.
You smile because you can feel the air returning to your friend's lungs at the same rate as it leaves yours.
When Pietro breathes again, your eyes close.

kiss me ! part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“hawaii!” niki yells, throwing as fist in the air as he enters the van “riki, it’s 3am in the morning, please shut up” jay retorts, going back to sleep as he leans on the window
as if it was almost planned, you and jake sat beside each other at the furthest seat. it was complicated, you didn’t know if you were comfortable or not, you felt tense, afraid of jake’s teasing if you touch him even the slightest. yet you also didn’t want to leave your seat.
you let out a huff, trying to find a position where you could comfortably sleep in. you were spooked at the sudden hand that leans your head on their shoulders “you can sleep on my shoulders, it’s alright” jake chuckles, already drifting to sleep the second after he did that “thanks” you mumble, easing into his warmth.
you laugh a little at his aching figure “this is funny to you? after i’ve been so kind to let you sleep on my shoulder?” he pouts “i deserve a long massage during our flight” he jokes, continuing to carry your bags.
dumbfounded by the fact that you stayed with him, giving him a glance filled with guilt “y/n seriously, i’m fine. it’ll go away sooner or later” he reassures you, his heart exploding at the sight of you with glimmering eyes, feeling the guilt you expressed them with.
“what do you wanna eat for breakfast?” you mumble, taking the luggage cart from his grasp. he laughs at your attempt to make him feel better “sorry? didnt quite hear that well” he teases, making you give him a glare, almost forgetting that he was ‘injured’ you raise your hand to almost give him a punch “good thing you’re hurting or i would’ve punched your ass back to australia” you roll your eyes “you heard what i said!” eyebrows frowning as you look away “alright alright, i’m fine with coffee really—” he lets out a breathy chuckle, dragging his feet as he follows you around “—nonsense! breakfast is important. don’t give me that type of bullshit sim” you cut him off, stopping by a little restaurant as you tell the other members to go ahead “im getting you pancakes. better finish it or you’re not living to see another day”
he laughs “this is quite a unique way to care for someone don’t you think” you roll your eyes "eat the damn pancakes sim jaeyun"
"yas ma'am"
--
after everyone had met up, you all started finding your seats. you were bewildered, somehow, because now you found yourself wanting to switch seats with sunghoon for obvious reasons. but of course, you --again, didn't have the guts to do so.
a few hours into the flight and a few glances from jake here and there, you received a message
jake :):
hey pretty girl, do me a favour and go to the washroom behind you
you:
and why exactly?
jake :):
no questions asked. i just miss you ;)
you swore you wanted to jump off the plane. pretty girl?! he misses me?!. you feel the heat creeping up in your face as you asked jungwon "hey, could you get up of a sec. i gotta go to the washroom" you whisper, mumbling a small 'thank you' before you walked to the washroom.
you felt a hand pull you "hey" he giggles, arms wrapped around your waist "you scared me! i thought i was getting abducted" you slap his shoulder. although you would be lying if you said you didn't want to just grab him and kiss him right at this moment.
he looked so good with his button up shirt, showing off his collar bones, neck wearing the beaded necklace you made for him during the summer and your birthstone necklace. his hair was messy, and you couldn't deny how hot he looked with his glasses on.
"you should consider buttoning up" you hesitantly say, looking anywhere but his eyes. of course he catches on to your intentions, but he felt like pissing you off "why? i'm showing off your necklace" he giggles "i even bought your birthstone" he grabs the necklace with his thumb, making you roll your eyes as you cross your arms, making sim jaeyun giggle.
he places his hand under your chin, finally letting you looking at him "switch seats with sunghoon please. i don't think i like the sight of you sleeping on jungwon's shoulders" now it was your time to piss him off.
"why?" you pout, "his shoulders are so comfortable, and we don't want your shoulders aching again now do we?" you give him a slight smile, well it wasn't like you weren't planning to switch with sunghoon way before the flight even started anyway.
jake rolls his eyes "that leaves you no choice--"
"can y'all hurry up? i'll switch with you y/n gosh! just let me pee!" sunghoon bangs on the door, making jake laugh "well that was easy"
--
oh how you regret changing seats.
because now you get to fully witness the flight attendants obviously flirting with him.
"good morning sir" she annoyingly giggles, biting her lip as she leans in way too close. jake leans back, letting out a small laugh out of politeness "hi, yeah i'd like..." he orders his food while you glare at the girl who's been displeasingly close to him "what can i get for you ma'am?"
"oh my girlfriend would like the same thing" jake interrupts, giving you a sly wink after placing his hand on top of yours. you let out a small scoff after seeing the disappointed look on the girl as she hands you the food. your skips a beat. girlfriend? you thought
now he was starting to piss you off. he was doing everything but ask you out. and with every ounce of pride you had in your soul, you hated to admit that you were starting to get really impatient. were you not obvious about your feelings? was the handmade necklace and the concern you have for him not obvious enough?
"ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Hawaii" the pilot announces, after you got your hand carry, you didn't even bother waiting for jake. immediately walking out of the plane, causing him to tilt his head out of confusion.
he didn't get a chance to talk to you, i mean, how could he when you would immediately start walking away from him whenever he tried to walk towards you.
as you sat beside jay in the tour bus, he gives you a weird look "why are you here" you give him a lost look "can i not...?" that's when he knew something happened between you and jake "y/n if this is because of jake--" you place your hand on his mouth, leaning way too close. but luck wasn't on your side today, because jake saw.
"shut up please! and yes! it is about him. so please spare me and let me sit here for the meantime" jay chuckles, "jake's going to kill me for this" he mumbles, leaning back to the chair "what?"
"nothing" he gives you a grin
--
after you guys arrived to jay's beach house you immediately grab your bag before jake could help you
"alright riki and sunoo are sharing a room, jungwon and heeseung are sharing, and...." jay looks at you, sunghoon and jake, not knowing what to do "you three figure it out. i'm just letting you know one gets to have their own room" jay starts to head to his own room, shrugging his shoulders as he walks past you with widened eyes.
"we already know what's about to happen. i'm getting my own room-"
"no!" you yell
"yes!" jake yells in unison,
"well......" sunghoon stood there, waiting for the both of you to talk "well, i just think i should get the room since you know-- i'm a girl and-- you and jake are best friends so you should be roommates" you explain, giving sunghoon an awkward smile "yeah sure whatever- ow!" jake hits sunghoon in the arm "you idiot! take the goddamn room!" jake grits through his teeth "you know what y/n! i change my mind. i uh, i think im going to take the room"
"why?!" you whisper with a harsh tone. poor sunghoon "IM GOING TO JERK OFF OR SOMETHING I DON'T KNOW" he yells, although he regrets it after the maids give him a weird look "ayo what?" heeseung peaks through the door "nothing! i didn't mean that. just --ugh! i'm heading out" he grabs his luggage, stomping through the hallways as he walks to the room. leaving you with jake.
--
you were about to have a mental breakdown "jay! you're seriously not helping me at all!" you give him a shove "ow! you need to control your strength sometimes! and i'm sorry okay? i just panicked, and i think you and jake being roommates wouldn't be a mistake. it's better to fix your problems instead of just sweeping it under the rug. you can't avoid him forever y/n" he was right. and you knew that. but you couldn't bring yourself to tell jake what was bothering you. even the thought of it was embarrassing, because what if he wasn't even intending to date you at all?
you walk back to the room, hesitating whether you should open it or not. but after hearing no noise, you open the door "AH OH MY GOD SORRY--" there you saw a shirtless jake, hair wet and his glasses having a few drops of water from his hair. he grabs your hand before you could walk out again "y/n, please talk to me" he places his hands on both sides of your shoulders "did i do something wrong? whatever it is, i'm really sorry" he panics, slightly pouting at the silent treatment you gave him "jake i-"
"dinners ready!" riki barges in, freezing at the sight of you two "oh- hey! riki, let's go!" you grab his arm, walking towards the dining room "please don't mention it" you whisper, sitting in between riki and jay.
jake later follows, now in his grey shirt and the checkered pajamas he wore earlier, he gives you a small smile before sitting next to heeseung.
"so, sunghoon. did you have fun?" heeseung teases
"shut up!"
--
"this wasn't going as planned anymore!" jake groans, he was currently in jay's room, ranting his frustrations out while jay listened. when jake had heard about the trip to hawaii, he originally planned to confess when you guys went to the party, it's not like the party had already happened, but it was already tomorrow "i already apologized, yet she still wouldn't speak"
"do you even know why she's mad?" jay asked, leaning on the bad with his arms as he watched jake pacing around his room "...no?"
"jake sim you idiot"
it was 1 am in the morning and you finally finished playing games with riki and heeseung. you were hesitating to open the door once again. afraid of letting the incident happen once more. you knock lightly, hoping that he was there and you could finally make up
but before you could open the door, jake already opened it. immediately embracing you "please talk to me" he whispers gently in your ear. you couldn't help but burst out crying, causing him to panic, he caresses your hair "let's go for a walk yeah?" he grabs your wrist, his touch so gentle as if you were fragile.
he wipes your tears as you walk along the shore "i missed you. you know?" he holds your hand as you both drag your feet along the sand. you hit him on his shoulder "ow!"
"that's what you get!" you sniffle, looking at the reflection of the moon on the sea "what did i do?" he chuckles, searching for your eyes. he tilts his head when you don't respond "hello?"
"cause! you always flirt with me, calling me your girlfriend and hugging me! i hate it! i hate it because my heart always skips a beat every time and i always expect you to ask me out soon yet you never do!" you yell, your skin was glowing under the moonlight. jake was in awe the moment he saw your glistening eyes that had tears threatening to fall.
he had the sudden urge to kiss you and tell you how he felt.
and he did. because jake was a man who never doubted his feelings when it came to you.
he pulls you by the waist, causing you to let out a yelp. his lips touches yours, and it stayed like that for a while, to make up for the moments he wasted without you this whole vacation. you wrap your hands around his neck, playing with his hair
"can i be your boyfriend?" he cheekily says, his smile making you smile as well "suck my ass. sim jaeyun. yes, i'd love for you to be my boyfriend"
"i'd gladly suck your a--"
"sim jaeyun!"

[bonus bcs i haven't posted in a while]
it was the morning of the party, you were in jake's arms "finally you're awake! good morning!" he excitedly says, peppering you with kisses "the guys are in the pool so get changed" he informs you, smacking your ass as soon as you got up "getting too comfortable for our first day aren't we?" you tilt your head, giving him a smirk "can't help it" he send a wink your way.
as soon as you got out in your swimsuit, jake's mouth drops "do a little turn for me" he smirks, twirling you around as he hypes you up "holy shit! i'm so lucky aren't i" he checks you out, earning a smack from you "ow! alright but i'm not letting them check you out like that! wear my shirt"
(he didn't let you go from the jacuzzi after heeseung hyped you up lol)
--
[party]
you told jake to go ahead, wanting to surprise him with the dress you bought.
after arriving to the party jake almost dropped the drink he had in his hand after he saw you. he was smiling so hard when the little girl put a Lei (flower neck lace) on you. he felt so proud when the other men at the party look at you giving him a hug
"that's right, she's mine" he thought
after you walked to wards him he grabs you by the waist "you look so pretty in red" he says, hugging you tightly "is that so?" you ask, giving him a chaste kiss on the lips, making him all giddy

word count: 1.6k
a/n: sorry i haven’t uploaded in a while, i’ve been busy but i have the week off so i hope to post more often! as always, enjoy!
Once you saw the last of the team travel out of the locker room, you were quick to barge in - knowing your boyfriend, and the team’s captain, was the only one left.
He was taking his jersey off when you arrived, his muscular back facing you.
“You were great out there,” you said softly as you approached him, wrapping yours arms around him from the back despite how sweaty he was. You knew you’d be showering with him anyways. It was a little post-game ritual the two of you often loved to share.
Harry leaned into your touch, letting some of the weight from his sore body rest on you. You almost felt bad for what you were about to do to him. He didn’t even know what was coming. Didn’t even know he had been caught this morning. But you surely weren’t going to let it slide.
“Where were you this morning?” You asked him, innocently enough.
“Went to breakfast then came down here,” he answered easily, moving out of your grasp to turn the water on.
“And before that?” You asked him, raising a sly brow at him.
You saw him freeze for a moment, but he recovered quickly. It almost made you giggle - the thought of him thinking he could get away with it.
“What do you mean?” He asked, not turning around to face you. Instead, he opted to begin removing his pants.
“Don’t act stupid, baby boy,” you said, almost mockingly. “We both know exactly what I’m talking about.”
He froze for real then, his hands glued to the hem of his pants. You could practically feel him wracking his brain for something to say, but you both knew he already lost.
When he turned to face you, his expression was filled with guilt and shame. It was almost cute how pitiful he looked. You walked up closer to him, completely invading his space until your chest was pressed against his. You could hear the way his breath hitched before he released a shaky breath, and you knew he was exactly where you wanted him.
“Did you think it was okay to peep on me in the shower? You’re not slick, you know? I know when you’re using the cloak,” you questioned, referencing what had happened just that morning.
You had been taking a shower, excitedly getting ready to watch your boyfriend play in his game today, when you heard an unmistakable swishing along the bathroom floor. You barely even had to look up when you saw it hit the light in exactly the right way. To anyone else, it may have just been a trick of the eye, but you knew exactly what it was. You had been underneath it enough times to know. It was Harry, underneath his invisibility cloak, watching you shower.
And as aroused as you were that Harry had managed to sneak all the way in there just for you, just to see you naked, you refused to give him the show he wanted. After all, he didn’t need to know you knew was there. So you continued your shower as you normally would, finally hearing the unmistakable swishing leave the bathroom once more.
“I’m sorry,” he finally said, looking down at his feet bashfully.
“I’m sure you’re not, but you’ll make it up to me. Won’t you, baby?” You asked teasingly, palming him through his briefs to find him already half hard. When all he could do was whimper, you couldn’t help but chuckle, but you let it slide. “Help me strip.”
He moved eagerly, quickly helping you out of your layers until you were naked. You moved under the water, letting it encase you before you turned back to him. He was watching you with eagle eyes, not daring to take them off of you.
“Down on your knees, baby boy. I don’t know what you think you were doing, but I’m in charge now,” you told him, spreading your legs seductively, leaving him with a perfect spot to place his mouth.
He was down on his knees within a second, not even minding the cold, hard bathroom floor. His lips sucked around your clit harshly, forcing your hips to buck up from the wall. He didn’t miss a single beat, almost effortlessly working your body with his lips and tongues. Regardless of how you felt about this morning, your man was good and you both knew it.
“Look at you finally being good. Maybe if you had been good all day, I would have been the one on my knees,” you told him between your moans. You felt more than heard him whimper against your body, picturing the roles reversed.
He got you off quickly after that, wanting to prove to you so badly that he was good, so that hopefully, if you allowed it, he could get off too. You came with a deep moan, your back arched against the cool shower wall and your fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him as close as possible to your body. His tongue didn’t stop until you were writhing, forcing him off of you.
When you looked down at him again, a whole new rush of arousal shot through your body. His hair was a beautiful mess, tousled under your fingers and the water. His lips were swollen and wet, slightly parted as he finally got the chance to breathe. And his eyes. Oh his fucking eyes. He looked like an absolute glorious fucked out mess even though you hadn’t even touched him yet. He looked as breathless as you felt. The power you had over this man was borderline insanity.
“Do you think you did a good enough job to fuck me?” You asked him lowly, watching his eyes widen.
“Please. I’ve wanted to all day,” he told you honestly, the plea evident in his eyes.
“I really don’t think you deserve it after your stunt this morning but I’ll be nice. You can fuck me, but you better make me cum twice of your cock before you even think about cumming,” you gave in with a dark chuckle, watching as a blush crept to his face and his cock twitched.
He was on his feet in an instant, easily lifting you up and balancing your body between the wall and his strong chest. It didn’t take him much longer to slip his cock inside of you and from the angle, you could feel everything. Every vien, every ridge, every throb. He definitely chose correctly when he picked this position.
WIth every thrust, his pelvis was brushing against your clit and the tip of his cock was perfectly hitting your g-spot. You couldn’t even hold the moans back. He was proving just how good he was tenfold, he deserved to hear how good he was making you feel.
“You were so fucking bad this morning, you know that?” You asked, slowly dragging your hand up his chest and to his throat. You didn’t clench down hard, but the fact that your hand was there was enough to make him moan. “Who gave you the filthy idea that peeping on me was the right thing to do?”
“Y/N, fuck,” he said back, not quiet an answer, but you knew exactly what it meant. It meant that as your orgasm was building, so was his and he was having a hard time controlling it between your words and your hand so perfectly placed.
And you knew exactly what to do to tip him over the edge. To make him cum and break the rules some more just so you could fuck with him more later. It was devious, but it was the perfect punishment.
“You’re not showing me how good you can be. I know how close you are. Are you thinking about me in the shower again? How good I looked touching myself while you watched?” You questioned, your hand only gripping his throat tighter.
“No. Fuck. I’m being good, please,” he begged aimlessly, thrusting inside of you erratically, just proving how close to the edge he was.
“If you were good, you wouldn’t act like a desperate little boy,” you told him, trying your best to sound coherent through your own moans.
You gripped his chin between your fingers to hold him steady before bringing up your other hand and swinging it against his face, a resounding crack echoing around the empty locker room. His head remained steady, but his entire body trembled. He managed to keep you upright, but he was breaking down slowly, spiraling to his release.
“You better make me cum before you do,” you got out, at least managing to sound menacing enough.
“I’m so close. Please cum, please,” Harry whimpered, fighting against himself to get you there.
No matter what, you could never say that Harry Potter was a quitter. He raced to get you to your finish, and when you did, you contracted around him so tightly he hissed and you released with a scream, unable to hold back the sound. He came with a groan, his head buried in your shoulder.
You took a moment to catch your breath before opening your mouth to speak. “I thought I told you to make me cum twice before you did,” you offered weakly, still a little breathless. But nevertheless, your words had their desired effect.
Harry’s head immediately snapped up and you could already see the apology in his eyes. You chuckled slightly as you slid back down the wall, gracefully landing on your feet.
“Don’t worry, baby boy. You’ll learn your lesson for that one later - nothing a few edges won’t be able to fix. But first we need to finish your shower, hm?” You asked softly, moving his messy hair back out of his face.
He gulped but gave you a steady nod before flashing a barely there grin. He was a little shit - basically asking for a punishment. But he was all yours.

Hogwarts idea
Can you make a fic about how Tom sneakes out at night to spend the nights in the readers room (common room/bedroom) he’s a gryffindor and she’s a ravenclaw
Maybe they have a deal with the house teacher of one of the houses. Maybe he tries to hide in her bed as so not to wake the others. Maybe they fall asleep in the common room and have a minor panic when they wake up and it’s morning. Maybe they accidentally switch clothes or one of them steal the others clothes so they walk around with the wrong colors.
love love love love this!!! and I'm sorry it took me so long, I've been in a bit of a writing slump, but this is the best request to get me out of it! thank you <3 and hope you like it. (this got a bit out of hand and I might have changed the ending a lil bit but I hope its good heh)
(gender neutral!reader, I think? at least that's what I went for but if I accidentally missed something just let me know and I'll edit, I'm dumb)
_________________
Being in your seventh year at Hogwarts, with exams just around the corner, was taking up almost every waking minute of your days. Adding the fact that you had your Head Student duties, and Tom had his Quidditch house team to take care of, meaning that you barely ever had time for each other. The only solution, in your young and smitten minds, was that some rules needed to be broken- just a little bit.
It took Tom some time to convince you since you were supposed to be setting the right example for the younger students, but eventually, one gloomy Friday morning, he finally got to you.
"C'mon, love, it will be fun," he had his arm draped around you as you tried to enjoy your breakfast, the looks of your fellow housemates never going unnoticed. There had never been a rule against students eating meals at different tables, and yet, seeing the captain of the Gryffindor team spending all his mornings and evenings at the Ravenclaw table was a strange sight. He preferred your table, he had said one day when you asked, it was quieter. That you could not disagree with. The Gryffindors were always rowdy.
"I don't know Tommy, what if we get in trouble?" you bit the inside of your cheek, as you always did when you got nervous. Tom responded by pulling you in tighter and kissing your cheek, then said:
"That's half the fun of it, darling." His words rushed an array of feelings through you. A part of you started to feel flustered, while the other wanted to shove his face in the large bowl of porridge that stood on the table.
"Please," he looked at you with his usual sad puppy-eyed look. "I feel like never get to see you, y/n. So I'll come over tonight, you can let me into the Rave tower, we'll hang out a bit and then I'll leave- like nothing ever happened. What do you think?"
"I don't know, Tommy-" You tried to keep a straight face, but it was hard to say no to a gorgeous face like his. after a few short moments of silence, you finally agreed, "fine. Be there at 10. Do not be late, Holland."
"I wouldn't dare to waste a second away from you." He kissed you, grabbed a slice of toast (from your plate, of course), and got up.
"Wait, where are you going?" You asked, confused, since breakfast wouldn't end for another 20 minutes.
"I'm kind of late for early detention with McGonagall," he chuckled before running off, toast between his teeth. You just rolled your eyes and finished your meal in peace.
You never really thought that your classes were boring, but that day, every minute seemed to go by at a quarter of its speed. It was as if someone had put a time-stopping hex on you if that even was a thing. You couldn't wait to finish your studies in the library (the scheduled hours at the library was necessary since there was still so much to get through before the NEWTs), so you could make your way back to the Great Hall for dinner. Once there, you immediately were on the lookout for the head of dark brown curls. You stood in the doorway, letting people pass you, but no luck; Tom was nowhere to be seen.
Internally, you already started cursing. It would be just your luck that he'd get attention again for the rest of the night. Why did you have to fall for the troublemaker-
"Aaah!" you shrieked as suddenly your feet were lifted from the ground. Arms wrapped around your middle, and you were spinning around. You wanted to scream more, but you heard the familiar laugh, and it immediately put you at ease.
"Put me down," you laughed. Tom complied without pretence. But his hands remained at your sides as you turned to face him. And then, eagerly, his lips met yours in a chaste kiss.
It was, of course, silly to think that you could have this moment just for yourself, in a hall filled with hundreds of students. Only a few seconds into your kiss, you could hear wolf-whistles around you. Someone, who sounded very much like Tom's friend and team co-captain Harrison, called out from afar: "Get it, Holland!" Tom was quick to put up two fingers in his direction, not paying attention to anyone. But the mood was ruined, and you pulled apart.
"Missed you today," he said softly.
"Missed you, too." You replied. His fingers slipped between yours, and like that, hand in hand, you were already making your way to the Ravenclaw table, but, unfortunately, Tom was stopped when someone tugged at the back of his robes.
"Oi, you dickhead-" but he laughed it off when he saw it was Ben, another friend and member of the Gryffindor team.
"Sorry 'bout that," Ben apologised, "but we're supposed to be holding a team meeting, remember?" He pointed over at the Gryffindor table, and, indeed, the rest of the team was huddled together at the edge of the table. Harrison had gotten up when he saw you and Tom looking, returning the gesture of the two fingers held up in the V-shape.
"Shit, I forgot." Tom brushed his fingers through his hair. He looked at you, eyes already full of regret, and you could tell he was ready to apologise, but you stopped him before he even opened his mouth.
"Don't worry, we'll talk later, yeah." You kissed him on the cheek, "remember, 10."
And miraculously, Tom did remember. As the clock in the Ravenclaw common room struck 10, you heard the faint knock at the other side of the entrance. Of course, Tom knew where and how to access the Ravenclaw tower, but the riddles that the eagle doorknocker asked were at times a bit too hard, bless him.
You pushed the door open, and there he stood. His robes were exchanged for sweatpants and a hoodie. A blue one, you noticed, not that that would help him fit in with the crowd in the common room. Tom had been team captain for the past three years, and his team had not failed to win the cup once since he had even joined the team, to begin with. Everyone in school knew him and adored him. Not even the rest of your house managed to be mad at him (though the Ravenclaw team definitely held a bit of a grudge after a few bad losses over the years).
He stepped inside, and you quickly lead him around the common room up the stairs of the dormitories.
You had heard that years ago, the stairs had a spell on them that stopped the male students from even attempting to step up to the other dormitories. Now, however, this "rule" has been dropped, ever since several students expressed their concerns for the double standards between the male and female student body, as well as the discomfort it might set up for the queer students.
Personally, you thought it would be even better if every student could have their own room, since sharing a space with four other people could get a bit crowded at times and you liked your privacy, but it was understandable that in an ancient building like Hogwarts renovations were not always an option.
Luck struck once more when you opened the door to your dormitory, and it was empty. All of your friends were still out, most likely staring at their books, in the hopes of getting struck with a moment of brilliance that could help them pass their exams. You closed the door, and Tom made himself comfortable in your bed.
It felt like the entire day had already been wasted, not to mention dinner, so you hurried down to your bed, pulling down the curtains of the four-poster, just to get that little bit of privacy you longed for at the end long day. But, of course, it was nothing unusual or suspicious since you often closed your curtains when you were too tired to chat with your roommates.
It was dark with the curtains closed, but Tom was quick to pull out his wand and murmured "lumos" the tip immediately illuminated in soft blue light. The glow was just enough for you to see his face, the goofy grin taking over his features.
"What are you laughing at?" you asked, whispering in case someone would walk in.
"Nothing," he shrugged, "just happy to be here with you."
"You're daft," you laughed.
"Yeah, about you," and with that, he kissed you. The light at the end of his want went out as he dropped between you. His lips were soft and sweet, the pudding that had been served with dinner still lingering on him. He must have stolen a few cookies from the table when it had finished, you thought, to eat later. He often did that.
You stayed like that, cuddling, stealing kisses from one another, for hours, probably. You were never quite sure because eventually, you both drifted off into a slumber. You could have probably slept like that, wrapped in his arms, forever, if it wasn't the bright light peeking through your curtains that was hitting you right in the face. And the whispers. You could hear people talking.
"I swear, they're just the cutest." It was your friend talking.
"But do they really need to do it here?" A second voice said, also familiar to you. "I mean, how many rules do you think they're breaking?"
"Oh shut!" you heard pillows being thrown. Or at least assumed that was what was happening around you. You couldn't be bothered to open your eyes, instead deciding to focus on Tom and his calm breathing. Your head was close to his chest, so you felt it rise with each inhale he took, and you could hear his heartbeat.
It was Saturday, meaning no classes. You had studied every day for the past few weeks, definitely deserving a little break for the day. If you remembered correctly, Tom wouldn't have training until the late afternoon and you could always skip breakfast. If you got hungry before tea, you could always sneak into the kitchens. After all, the two of you had already broken so many rules, what would be the harm in one more.
Ignoring the further whispers of your friends, you snuggled closer to Tom, feeling his arm wrapping tighter around you. Both of you shuffled around a bit, trying to find back the comfort from the night, and quickly you fell back to sleep.
The End

Can I get a pietro maximoff blurb based off the song "Rude" by MAGIC! where the reader is tony's daughter if the blurb requests are still open?
Tumblr media
rude
pairings: pietro maximoff x stark!reader
warnings: mentions of food, slight angst, dad!tony + boyfriend!pietro arguments, fluff really
word count: 1430
note: the fact that i actually really think that the song was made for pietro. rude // magic!
the sunlight was trickling through the window panes of pietro’s room.
his eyes slowly fluttered open, slowly blinking away the sleepiness. as soon as he adjusted through the blinding light, his gaze fell on you, your arms and legs wrapped around him like a koala.
he smiled softly, carefully stripping your hold onto him as he remembered the plans he had for the day.
pietro wasn’t usually the type of guy to dress with such effort. he mostly wears anything comfortable; sweats, shirts, hoodies.
though today was a different day, a special (sort of) day. so he wore one of his best suits-- one for stark’s occasional galas.
after approving of his neat and posh appearance, he bought two shawarmas from tony’s favorite shop, accompanied by iced coffees-- one black and one milky, you could guess whose is which.
pietro headed towards tony’s lab, but not before getting stopped by wanda, “what’s the occasion, piet?”
“i’m gonna do it,” he said, snatching his coffee from his sister’s grasp, “wish me luck.”
he knocked at the glass panes, even though he knows that he could just walk in like he usually does. he watched as tony gave him a weird look, and went ahead to open the doors.
“what do you want, sonic?” tony gazed at him from head to toe, “and did you just pomade your hair?”
he ignored him, handing him the exact order of shawarma he usually buys, “here,”
“alright, speak up,” tony eyed him skeptically, “do you need money? permission to shag my daughter? what?”
pietro looked at him with disbelief, “what the hell does shag mean?”
he blinked at the speedster, “i- nevermind,” he took a bite off his shawarma, “talk now, maximoff, i’ve got work to do,”
“i’d like to ask for your blessing to marry your daughter,” pietro said slowly. as if once he spoke too fast, tony would explode.
well, he didn’t exactly. he just stared at him and straight out deadpanned, “no.”
pietro placed his cold drink down, “what?”
“you’ll never get my blessing ‘til the day i die,” tony huffed, sipping on the coffee pietro bought, going back to tinkering his prototypes.
the maximoff boy scoffed, “is it really necessary to be rude?”
“tough luck, speedy,” tony shrugged, “now, go. thanks for the snacks, though,”
pietro sighed in frustration, ruffling his hair to wring the pomade which was holding his dirty white strands together. he was about to speak up again but decided against it, smiling rigidly at pepper as he left.
“you’ve got to take it easy on pietro, tony,” pepper murmured, “he’s a good guy, he loves y/n so much. he looks at her like she’s his world,”
tony massaged the bridge of his nose, “i don’t know, pep, y/n’s my only daughter. i don’t think i could let go of her just yet.”
pepper laid his important documents on his table, “you’ve got to do it someday, tony.”
pietro walked into the avenger’s common room, loosening his tie.
“hey, love, what’s with the suit?” you asked, eyebrows furrowing, “i didn’t miss an anniversary, right?”
he smiled, sitting beside you on the couch, “no, no. just… trying on a different style,”
you chuckled, “o-kay then, do you want breakfast?”
he nodded, closing his eyes. you looked at wanda and clint, silently asking if they want some, too. after getting the answer you needed, you strolled to the kitchen.
“what’s got you in a foul mood, pietro?” wanda asked.
“did he say no?” clint asked, frowning slightly. as much as he hates to admit it, clint has grown quite fond of the boy, especially after the battle of ultron.
he nodded his head, opening his eyes to look at them, “i don’t understand him. he knows that i’m gonna marry y/n one way or another,”
“it’s going to take a while, maximoff,” clint clapped a hand on his shoulder, “tony’s just protective of her, you know she’s the only family he has left.”
he hummed, “yeah,”
dinner rolled on quickly, thanks to you. you’ve prepared dinner with pietro, it was a special recipe of your mother’s.
the meal with the avengers is eventful like usual. witty banters, scolding from steve, exchanging lovely memories.
“supper’s amazing, y/n,” your father praised, wiping his mouth with a napkin, “it’s been years since you last cooked this, why now?”
you smiled softly, “just thought pietro and wanda would appreciate a little something from home,”
pietro looked at you with adoration in his eyes. he gave you a quick peck on the lips, much to tony’s dissatisfaction.
after eating, tony volunteered to clear up the table, leaving pietro along with him.
“come on, tony,” he prompted, “i cannot live without her. love me or hate me, we’ll both be standing on the altar,”
“pietro-”
“or y/n and i will run away and get eloped,” pietro offered, smiling lightly at the billionaire.
“don’t you dare,” he glowered, “you’re even lucky i allowed you to date her, maximoff.”
“tony, you know i love your daughter with all my heart, and i know that you know that she loves me, too,” pietro said sincerely, “i’ll go wherever she goes, and she will do the same, too.”
tony gulped, “no, pietro. go, you’re getting on my nerves.”
“hey, dad,” you smiled, walking into his lab, “are you busy right now?”
your father stopped what he was doing and turned to face you, “no, never for you, what’s up?”
“i just… when did you realize that you want to, you know, spend the rest of your life with mom?” you fiddled with your necklace as you sat down, “or pepper, perhaps?”
“what do you mean pepper? pepper- pepper is not-” he stuttered, but you cut him off, “c’mon, dad, i know how you look at her. it’s the same way i look at pietro,” you shrugged.
he sighed, “i’ve always known that i wanted to marry your mother the moment we went on that first date. i guess the universe wasn’t content with how my life was going, so they took her away from me,” he looked at you curiously, “why?”
you smiled sadly, “i don’t know, dad. it’s just that, i’m already twenty-seven, pietro and i have been going strong together for five years now,” you laughed humorlessly, “i don’t know, don’t you think that now would’ve been the right time for him to pop the question?”
your dad just stared at you in guilt, he wasn’t speaking, so you continued to talk.
“i- i know that i shouldn’t rush things, just go with the flow, i guess,” you paused, biting your lip in thought, “but maybe he isn’t ready yet? i mean, we’ve said the words tons of times, we’ve talked about the future. do you think he doesn’t want to settle down with me yet?”
tony widened his eyes as he saw the tears gather in your eyes, so he immediately rushed towards you, bringing you into his arms as you let the tears fall from your eyes.
“no, no, sweets, i’m sure he wants to, maybe he’s just nervous?” he winced, the guilt eating him up.
you chuckled, wiping your eyes, “i don’t know anymore, but thanks for listening, dad,” you sniffled, “i gotta go, i promised to help wanda for her date with vision.”
he kissed your forehead before letting you leave. he sighed, “FRIDAY, call pietro,”
and in a blink of an eye, pietro stood in front of him, “what do you need?”
“you have my permission,” tony muttered.
“for what, exactly?” pietro questioned, though he had the gist of what he was trying to say. he just wanted to tease him, “oh, wait a moment,”
tony rolled his eyes as he watched the boy disappear and appear with a recorder in hand, “okay, okay, and… go,”
“you have my permission to marry my daughter,” he said, scoffing as he watched pietro speed around his lab, “but if you hurt her, you’ll also have the permission to be buried six feet underground, got it?”
“got it.” pietro smiled, running out of the room with a cheerful whoop.
tony shook his head in amusement, turning around to look at the framed photo of a younger you and him. he smiled softly. you’ll always be his little girl, even if it means giving you away to the human form of sonic.
