this is so fucking tiring, i admire your patience.

for ten fucking years, this has been jikook's dynamic: jimin is the bold one, he likes to tease and flirt with jungkook, likes to lean in and he giggles at the way jungkook can't hold eye contact with him because of his shyness. the same shyness he only ever shows towards jimin and his antics. with the other tannies he mostly plays along, laughs at them or just pushes them away, because there's nothing there but brotherhood/friendship.

xiao is definitely blushing, that’s for sure, and avoiding eye contact but he’s going with it, either bc the rest of his friends are doing it or because you asked him too; he’s a little insecure at first, since it’s very out of his comfort zone, but if you continuously and genuinely praise and reassure him, he will feel a bit better (also, since he’d do everything for his partner he would wear it again in private if you beg him enough, but he never initiates it; just don’t humiliate or make fun of him, it would break his trust in you)

i don’t think scara would throw a physical tantrum (stomping his feet etc), he’d be too busy being in his head; so if you want to take vids of him, he’s similar to xiao; it would have to be in private, you’d have to get his consent first and you can’t make fun of him; sure a bit of normal teasing would be alright but you have to understand that he’s really vulnerable right now and can’t handle you betraying the trust he places in you atm (again, praise him!!)

- The way I imagine Juno’s intro going really makes em stand out. I wanna draw it out hopefully one day so I’m not gonna transcribe it out too much but her biggest kind of thing is the way they’re like “I don’t like to think of a battle as a fight. It’s a conversation we have with our beys” and that really particularly sticks with people. His and kite’s first battle is what kinda establishes their dynamic of juno teasing kite and being able to fluster him and catch him off guard, though also entertaining him and listening to him more than most would usually. I think one of the biggest scenarios I enjoy with them (coming from their original ref sheet) is the case of kite going on one of his science and data and perfection rants and juno laughing at that and telling him “You’re real funny, Mr. Perfect!” and that really catching him by surprise. Both because that’s not a reaction he’d ever expect, and also because Juno’s the only person besides himself to actually refer to him as Mr. Perfect. I think juno would pull what you’d probably expect, basically asking him how much of his heart is in the battle if all he’s focused on is data and what he’s actually feeling in the moment, general back and forth with that and some juno-isms, and I think eventually kite ends up winning, but as juno smiles and says he looks forward to seeing him again, he realized that they weren’t trying as hard as they could’ve, and suddenly kites interest is sparked and he can’t stop thinking about her.

- I talked about this way way back and I don’t think I’ve mentioned it as much recently but I am obsessed with the idea that juno asked kite out like 10 times before kite realized she was actually serious. For his credit, juno is kinda cryptic with her flirting, but seriously there’s only so many times you can go “this is just how she teases me! he’s just trying to make me embarrassed!” before it becomes obvious.

- Part of that I think would also kite having NO idea how to deal with being attracted to someone. “He’s so intriguing. The fact that he wasn’t giving it his all bothers me. Was he patronizing me? The way they smile and stay calm bothers me. Why do I want to challenge her again so bad? Why are they so frustrating? Why does it excite me that they keep talking to me?” (<- clueless)

- Ren and juno become fairly good friends and the first time she found out about Juno’s crush was when suddenly juno went “That Kite Unabara… he’s real interesting, huh?” and gave a lil smile and walked away and ren just took a moment to process that and went “NO. OH GOD NO. J U N O. KITE????? REALLY???????”

- She makes fun of them every single time they bring it up but did kinda help wingman when she was trying to ask him out (mostly by going “Juno I know he thinks he’s smart but he’s such a dumbass you have to like actually smack him across the face and tell him straight out pls”)

- Oh my god yk that also made me think, one of my hcs is that ren and kite very occasionally get along for the sole purpose of teaming up to make fun of Zyro and Shinobu for being corny but as soon as kite gets with juno she’s just like “nuh uh. no. you don’t get to participate in this now you hypocrite.”

- I really don’t think I can talk enough about how much kite would love using pet names. He’s suuuuuuuch a loser and juno loves em so he’s just constantly throwing out new ones. He folds immediately once juno reciprocates that though.

- While juno usually is very calm and the one leading the relationship, he has his very rare moments of crumbling bc of kite. Kites their dorkass loser boy most of the time but occasionally he can do or say something that just makes them so weak.

- Big moment for Juno was when kite first introduced them as his partner to eight. She knows how much they care about each other and she becomes so concerned with making sure that he makes a good impression. She’s trying to hard to hide their physical pain when eight doesn’t immediately warm up to her but he keeps trying his best bc he needs this.

- Juno being whipped for him feeds kites ego a lot and is awful for everyone involved because he somehow gets worse and also ends up making a fool of himself because of how hard he’s trying to impress her constantly

i wrote and deleted a thing somewhere in the early-days-but-not-quite where i was like, if u approach him flirtatious and looking for some fun that it will probably designate u as somebody more aligned to eros and it'll be difficulty-level: hard to really reach a genuine romantic connection with him later on

(and particularly if u are trying to get something out of him with some ulterior motivation beyond a 1-night-stand, he will see it and he will not abide by it; will probably play along, play dumb, see where it goes columbo style, or pull a fast one on you in turn; bw may have owned his life, but he does not enjoy being manipulated, and joel has made him bear witness to many underhanded tactics in that particular field, leaving him with an instinctive grasp on when it's being pulled on him.)

elaborating on that flirting part, it's-- a game. he enjoys the attention, and he likes the back-and-forth-and-back-and-forth and it's fun when it leads to a fling.

romance is something else - and it's so funny to me on how he goes about his crushes because he will try to show off in these unspoken manners, hoping to quietly impress or catch the person's attention. he will say and do these roundabout things and i'm not sure how to put it into words but re:the time where he tries to get ashe to say he has a nice face in the deadlock book and how the gang just starts teasing him for it. In a similar vein but w/o the romantics, it's how he tries to pique ana into going into a shooting range by suggesting that there hasn't been any real competition lately. it's like he's trying to bait you into acting or saying something. he's trying to be coy. he will try to find ways to spend time with you, even if they are unconventional. jlsdfk in his younger years, if he did have that crush on you, you could fluster him by meeting all of these things head-on, re: ashe asking him if he was worried for her and him turning a little red. Tbh he was just flusterable in general back in the day and it was cute and it kills me bc it isn't so much the case anymore. I think it probs stopped around the tail end of him being 23; by then i think he simply just matured out of that, gaining a different type of confidence, and is prone more to just laughing; but it's a good laugh, it's the laugh of somebody having a good time and he will probably resort to flirting or needling in a provocative fashion.

i would say it's probably just as hard to try to romance him in general as he is now. he's unbearably guarded despite his seemingly open demeanor, which tbh probably contributes to why he likes genuine people; he likes being genuine with genuine people and is relaxed around people whose intentions are,,, very easily readable and therefore easily predictable in terms of actions. but with how private he is on top of the fact that he likes to say shit just to say shit to see where it'll go (amidst saying shit he actually wants as half-assed jokes), it makes him seem sketchy and hard to trust (and we dont talk about how this gave some of the deadlock crew the ammo to pull the trigger on calling him a traitor lmfao).

Romance to him is not grand gestures. It's the small intimate moments, the ones where you see them engrossed in something from afar and feel the heart flutter fondly and think "oh". The sleepy, disheveled moments, seeing them at their worst and their best and sharing them all. It's missing them when they are gone, being eager to see them again when he is able. He's sentimental, he will remember small details and make them into gifts. He will bring you breakfasts, remember how you take your coffee and get you one when he's out getting his own. It's knowing that loving him is not necessarily easy (he is stubborn, he is a hot head and this will lead to arguments) and that you will love him anyway and that he will return that favor to you in twicefold. He will fight for you; he will get himself beaten black and blue for you.

It's a lot of trust and it's a lot of power. It can be completely and utterly terrifying for him to hand that over.

gojo is super flirty. the flirting and teasing go hand in hand. but if you ever flirt with him back, his brain short circuits and he gets super flustered. one of the rare times you will see the gojo satoru blush.

he shows you off a lot. he’s super proud to be dating you, and he wants to make sure that everyone knows that you are his, and he is yours.

big on pda affection. he does not care about what other people think at all, and is always down to just kiss you in the middle of nowhere, catching you and everyone else off guard.

you guys are always laughing. gojo is pretty funny, and he definitely always has some sort of good joke up his sleeve. he will never fail to make you smile or laugh.

nanami smells very nice. he has this certain cologne that he uses, and it’s not too strong, not too dull. it’s just perfect. when you guys are not together, his smell will linger on some of your items.

nanami is definitely a foodie. he’ll take you out to nice restaurants, always giving you a good time. he probably knows how to cook really, really good food. so sometimes, you guys would have dates at home. a night where nanami just cooks for you, brings out fancy whine, and you guys enjoy the night together.

a lot of long late night walks. he enjoys the silence, and finds them relaxing.

you guys would study together, and megumi is the type of person that would push you to work harder, and always wants the best for you. if you are having trouble with a certain subject, megumi will try and help you as much as he could, even if he didn’t understand it all that well either.

megumi’s love language is probably acts of service and quality time. so you guys will be in each other’s dorms a lot. megumi would be doing his own thing and you would be doing yours, your presence is just soothing to him.

The Swamp Makes Good Bedfellows

Lemoyne is a whole other world when the sun goes down. To calm your racing heart, you seek out good ol’ Arthur to keep you safe. 

You always were discontent near the swamps. Maybe it was the alligators? Snakes? All the bugs? Or maybe the weirdos who chose to live there (cause WHO would CHOOSE that)?

Either way, you avoided it at all costs.

That changed when the gang moved to Lemoyne. You were closer to that dreaded place than you ever wanted to be. Everyone could tell you were uncomfortable, no matter how hard you tried to hide it. They were all very sympathetic about it too, except for Micah who teased you and Bill when he’s drunk. 

It was worse at night though. 

Not being able to see what was making those awful sounds terrified you more. 

So here you were, anxiously watching the sun go down as everyone else in the gang enjoyed themselves. Drinks were being passed around by Sean, Uncle was telling another one of his tales, Jack was being adorable, Dutch had yet to utter the word “plan”, and Micah wasn’t even in the camp. Things should be considered good.

However, you were on edge. As the sun went down and everyone was heading to bed (except for Micah because honestly we never see him actually sleep, so add that to your list of swamp monsters), you stayed at one of the tables and distracted your mind by flipping through some random book.

“Y/N?” 

A voice startled you and you turned to see Arthur standing there (in all his glory), hat off and ready to call it a night. Honestly, your affection for the cowboy overrides your dislike for the swamp. He was just so caring and handsome. He was the one thing that got your mind off this place.

“Yes Arthur?” You asked sweetly with a smile. 

“Just wanted to know if you were heading to bed, since everyone else has?” He asked kindly. 

“How sweet.” Was your reply with a cute smile. He bashfully rubbed his neck then swatted his hand.

“Ah it’s nothing Y/N.” He replied while avoiding eye contact with a smile.

“I’ll be heading to bed soon.” Lies.

He nodded then bid you goodnight with another smile. You sweetly returned the goodnight as he walked away, glancing back at you (almost tripping over Uncle because he wasn’t paying attention). Your smile disappeared as you glanced up at the ever appearing stars. 

Finally, you retired back to your bedroll, and decided to try and sleep.

It feels like hours had passed as you lay there motionless. Eyes wide and darting about, you froze at every unfamiliar noise. Sometimes there was a suspicious splash in the distant. A couple times mosquitoes flew too close to your ears. There was also voices sometimes, which terrified you the most, until you realized its just gibberish from the sleeping gang members.

Another weird animal noise was your breaking point.

You silently got up and allowed your panicked mind to guide you to wherever your destination might be.

That was a bad decision because you were stumbling blindly through the dark. However, you soon stopped stumbling because you tripped and fell right onto something.

Or someone.

In complete horror, you realized that your mindless walking had led you to Arthur’s bed, and you just fell on him. He awoke immediately (and you were thankful he didn’t have any knives or guns near cause man he looked ready to kill). You got up quickly as did he.

“Y/N?” He whispered loudly with confusion in his voice. He flushed when he realized that you were still practically sitting on his legs, with your arms on either side of him.

“S-sorry Arthur...” You mumbled, ashamed of your actions. “I was just scared of the...the noises...and...sorry.”

You knew you sounded pathetic, but there was no teasing look in Arthur’s eyes. He instead nodded in understanding and put a hand on your shoulder, giving it a squeeze.

“It’s okay to be scared, Y/N.” 

“Easy for you to say.” You replied quietly while looking to the side. He laughed softly.

“I know.”

A moment of silence passed before you said, “I’ll just head back to make this less awkward for you...unless you want me to stay?”

 You couldn’t look him in the eye when you said that. It was a risky flirt, but you heard Arthur nervously laugh and looked to see him rubbing his neck looking flustered.

“I...um...I mean-” He was then interrupted by a familiar voice.

“Nice cowpoke!”

You both turned to see Micah standing there with a shit-eating grin on his face.

“Didn’t think you’d be the first to nail ‘em.” He continued with a laugh at the end. Murder flared in both you and Arthur’s eyes.

“Get lost Micah!” Arthur whispered-shouted to the blonde man.

“And miss this!” He gestured to the both of you. You both got red and flustered. 

“Is this what you do at night?! Watch people?!” Arthur growled, looking more pissed (and flustered) as time went on. Micah just kept laughing. Your face was now red in anger. 

“Micah! Go jump in the swamp, and swim off with the rest of your relatives!” You hissed at him. Finally, Micah huffed and went away (actually he just got bored). 

“Forget about that creep.” You told Arthur who nodded in agreement.

Finally, you both calmed down a bit. After complaining about Micah for a bit, Arthur finally answered your long awaited question.

“Sure, you can stay here tonight.” He said with a smile.

“Really?” You were surprised. You thought he would be too embarrassed to do that (but maybe he wanted to get under Micah’s skin). Either way, you were happy and snuggled into him (much to his red face). Both of you soon fell asleep (however, now you were thinking about Micah lurking around which ew).

However, you did eventually sleep, wrapped in his arms. You didn’t mind the swamp anymore. 

It was now a good excuse to come and lay in Arthur’s arms.

A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he reluctantly returned to the store, the bag of presents in his hand a sign of defeat. How hard it could possibly have been to wrap a few presents? Apparently too hard for someone like Marcus Moreno. He might have been able to save the world on several occasions, but apparently his talents ended at Christmas gift wrapping. Well, he huffed to himself as he pulled open the door, the soft twinkling of bells meeting his ears, everyone had a limit. His just happened to be a little more pathetic than others. 

Super Hero, he reminded himself with each step, he was a fudgin’ super hero for fuck’s sake. But alas, when it came to more domestic things, such as cooking, and wrapping apparently, he was far from super. He was working on it though - spending time each day to make sure he was learning - doing enough - to be the father Missy needed. For her, and himself. Things weren’t always easy, but they were always getting better. 

Although tired from a long day at the office, throwing swords around, as Missy had dubbed it, his face instantly lit up when he spied you behind the counter, an almost bored expression on your face. The last of the Christmas rush was almost over, which meant business had slowed down, which was both a blessing and a curse at the same time. Marcus would have been a liar if he said he didn’t have an ulterior motive for coming back; sure - he wanted the presents wrapped, but let’s be honest, the man was smitten with you. Any excuse to come back and chat with you, even if it was just five minutes was good enough for him. 

He’d known you, casually, for a few years now. You had been Missy’s teacher at school last year, and he knew that you worked the summers and holidays at your parent’s store to give them a hand with the rushes. Sometimes, being the sneaky Heroic he was, he’d made up excuses in the past to come into your classroom to spend a few minutes here and there talking to you. It was hard to believe that anyone could make him nervous, to make his heart flutter and beat like a nervous schoolboy, but there you were. Managing to do it every time. 

But he’d never act on it. No, no, no. That would be downright outrageous. After all, why on earth would you be interested in Marcus Moreno? He couldn’t even wrap a present.

Almost as if you sensed his presence, you looked up from the counter you were organized and offered him a dazzling smile, accompanied by a small wave. He was positive his heart stopped at the sight as he had to remind himself to breath. After a quick inhale and exhale, he marched over to you, ready to be firm, and hell, maybe today he’d finally ask if you wanted to get dinner sometime. Why not, after all? But then he took a good look at your eyes, those soft eyes and that gentle smile and he came undone.

“Hi Marcus,” you beamed at him as he did his best to give you a normal smile in response, “what a pleasure to see a friendly face. How are you?”

“Hi,” he managed to choke out as he calmed himself. How did you have this effect on him? He was a grown man, a man with plenty of experience in dating and love, and yet this one he couldn’t seem to nail down, “I’m fine  - you know what, why lie? I’m tired and I can’t wrap presents for shit. I hate to ask, but could you help me out? I’ve seen you do it for other people and I’m afraid if I try again, it’ll be worse than the first time. It’s been awful - oh my God, I’m so rude. I’m rambling - you look pretty - nice - how are you?”

“Marcus,” you giggled at him, watching as a nervous tinge of pink flushed his cheeks. You put your hand on his, effectively getting him to calm down and shut up, “slow down. It’s okay - I’ve got you covered. I assume work is busy?”

“That’s one way to put it,” he was instantly relieved as you took the presents from and grabbed some wrapping paper to display to him. He nodded at your choice and watching in awe as you made quick work of grabbing the first present and getting to work, “I was about ready to just leave him in the bag and give them to Missy like that.”

“Ahh, it’s not a big deal,” you shot him a quick wink, “it’s easy once you get the hang of it. But then again, I’ve been helping my parents with this stuff for years. Maybe sometime I’ll show you how.”

“You’re a lifesaver,” he exhaled as he leaned against the counter and tried to pay it cool. His heart was thumping in his chest so rapidly, he was sure you were able to hear it as well. If you noticed anything out of place, you didn’t show it, “I’ll pay you - whatever you want.”

“Marcus,” you waved him off, “there’s no need. Besides, what are friends for?”

“Friends,” he almost choked on the word as he grinned at the delicate look of concentration on your face. Your brow was furrowed, your tongue peeking out from between your lips as you made sure to get all the measurements just right, “how’s everything been? It’s been a while…”

“I know,” you agreed as you started some ribbon to start curling it, “I miss you coming into my classroom all the time, I miss Missy - it’s not quite the same without the Morenos.”

How much could hint at it before he finally got the bait? You’d harbored a crush on the man for years now, even before you became Missy's teacher. He was a Heroic after all - handsome, funny, smart, and kind. Who wouldn't fall in love with him? You'd hinted at your feelings a number of times and you thought he reciprocated a few times, but you could never be quite sure. And neither of you ever seemed to make a move. You'd come close a few times, but somehow just hadn't...quite gotten there.

“I miss it too,” he agreed quietly, turning his attention to his hands, “Missy doesn’t like her teacher as much this year.”

“That’s because I’m pretty cool,” you teased gently, “you look nice too, by the way. The all black thing - pretty sexy.”

Marcus was sure his heart stopped at your words; you couldn’t seriously have said what he thought you said. Right? Right. He looked at you with wide eyes as you refused to look up from what you were doing in case you had completely overstepped any remaining boundaries. 

“I, umm…” he paused for a moment, chuckling at his own nerves as he moved to stand in front of you, “I’m shit at this. But I, umm...I like you.”

“Marcus,” you stopped what you were doing and set the scissors down to meet his soft brown eyes. He had a small smile on his face, nervous as he watched your expression to try and get a read on the situation. Honestly? He’d rather have taken down another horde of aliens than wait for your response, “it’s about time you said something. I was beginning to think you never would.”

“Oh,” he let a nervous chuckle as your words set in, “oh. Oh?”

“I like you too, Marcus,” you admitted as a warmth flushed over you, “I just...I didn’t know how to say it. I was…”

“Nervous,” you both blurted out at the same time as you both laughed. At least you were on the same page. 

“I haven’t done this in a long time,” he confessed as you nodded in understanding, “I feel like an old fool more than anything...but I’d like to take you out. On a date. A real date. Like you know not just...this, and I’m sorry if this is awkward. Missy’s been telling me to ask you forever and I just feel like -”

“Marcus,” you grinned at him as you reached up and held up a finger to his lips, “you’re rambling again, silly. I’d love to. I’d love to go out with you.”

“Seriously?” his eyebrows raised in surprise as you just nodded. Needless to say, he was not expecting this - any of it. 

“Seriously,” you confirmed, “come on, Mr. Force Hands, give me your phone and I’ll give you my number.”

“Okay,” he looked at you with nothing but soft hope in his eyes as he fished out his phone from his pocket and handed it to you. You let your hand brush over his as you took it and quickly saved your number for him, “I...yeah. I’m looking forward to it.”

“Me too,” you agreed, “but don’t actually forget to text me.”

“I wouldn’t dream of it,” he breathed out easily, “besides, I owe Missy twenty bucks now and she’ll never forget it. We made a bet - she said I’ve never get the nerve to ask.”

“What a pleasant surprise,” you grinned at him, “now come on. Come around the counter and I’ll show you how to wrap properly.”

Marcus shuffled around the counter and you pointed to the spot you had previously occupied. Moving behind him, you paused for a moment before reaching around him to put your hands over his and help guide him. He swallowed thickly at your tender touch, trying to keep himself composed. 

“Now,” you said softly, “do it like this.”

It was definitely not what Marcus had expected to come out of this evening - but he was so glad it did. Finally. 

Maybe not being able to wrap presents wasn’t such a bad thing after all.
