Technology magick 🤳🏻:
To protect yourself from the evil eye online, you can place sigils or symbols in hidden areas of your photos_
You can either draw the sigil on your phone or on a piece paper. Take a picture of the drawing and use Picsart to cut the picture out ✂️ then make the transparency less visible. This can also apply to drawing on the Picsart app_
This method can also be used to attract abundance, love, or money. (I.E: If you have a Linkedin account, you can do this for your profile picture and do a sigil for wealth, so that way more companies will hire you)_
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Use a vision board as a wallpaper on your phone to manifest your desires_
Passcodes or passwords can be used as a spell. You could make a affirmation your password or use numbers that have a special meaning_
Filters are a form of glamour magick and it can alternate your physical identity_
Making a list of your goals in your notes and can you help you keep track of what you've accomplished (use checkmarks and x's ✅️❎️)_
AI could be used for any kind or magick (baneful, prosperity, etc.) It is something I suggest people be careful using in the future, like everything else in the world it has it's positives and negatives_

Before asking "is this a sign" regarding stuff you've seen online, first ask "is this the algorithm". Usually it's the algorithm.

There’s lots of Witchcraft within our modern times that can be done online. Especially mobile. Many people have a phone even if they don’t have a computer. This makes carrying a digital grimoire and/or secret craft a lot easier. Yet there are some, that still struggle with finding some good resources. So this post is made for just that.
Keep in mind that everything is meant primarily for phones, since that’s the most common thread among digital Witchcraft.
Tumblr media
Free Apps
⚜️ TimePassages: An app for astrology lovers! It has a moon tracker as well as daily horoscope (if you’re into that) but one of the best features is its extensive and detailed birth chart information. It includes a birth chart wheel and all its aspects. It’s a great source for working with planetary energies within and without the self. It’s an all around great app.
⚜️ Rock Identifier - Stone ID: There are several apps that claim to identify stones and Crystals but this is the highest rated and the one I enjoy the most. It not only identifies the stone but can offer a bit of info on some of the beliefs around that stones energy.
⚜️ About Herbs: This is a wonderful app that doesn’t get enough love. It’s an app that discusses medicinal advantages and disadvantages of various plants. They are presented by the Memorial Sloan Kettering cancer center, and provide links to the research to back up their claims. They also make it clear that they are for informational purposes and not to self diagnose, or self medicate without proper treatments from your doctor. They are a wonderful app for those who prefer herbal medicine.
Tumblr media
Web Sites
⚜️ Divination:
Tarot: This website sells their decks but also gives free single card draws for all of them. What’s great about it is that while tarot does have basic meanings they all share, the artwork on each deck plays a significant role in each meaning, making the reading far more unique then the average deck
Runes: A fairly simple and easy to use rune generator. They offer several spreads as well as the history behind the practice and meanings on each rune.
⚜️ Sigil Generators: Each website offers a different style to the sigils they create. Each as well has a downloadable feature for those sigils you make.
Sigil Engine
Psychic Science
Sigil Scribe
⚜️ Digital Altars: Digital altars can play an important role for the TechnoPagan. So these are some makers that you can use to make your own.

"Begone, Transphobe!"
Curse a terf! in minecraft! (actually!)
Tumblr media
You'll need:
a working copy of minecraft
in game:
redstone dust
white candles
campfire
black shulker box
a book and quill with your intent written inside (i wrote "May any terfs, transphobes, or any one else intending to cause harm against the lgbt community be harmed threefold")
a "poppet" (a totem of undying or mob head labeled "transphobe")
spider's eye
rotten flesh
wither rose
moon water (made by leaving a cauldron of water in the moonlight overnight)
a black candle
cast a "circle" by laying redstone down in a square around your desired area, place and light white candles in the corners of the square
to smoke cleanse, place a campfire
dig down a few blocks and place the shulker box
fill box with "poppet", book, spider's eye, rotten flesh, and wither rose. focus on your intent
place grass box on top of shulker box, effectively burying it
place a black candle on top of the burial site to "seal" it, and close your circle. opt: place redstone around the candle for extra potency
also!! dont do a curse if you dont feel prepared enough to do so/dont feel safe doing so!!
alternatively, you can do a protection spell to help protect trans people!!
real witches know that trans rights are human rights!

Busy with important family events over the next couple of days, and so I thought it would be good to get a day-and-date release for this Debrief on the latest entry in my Sapphic Valley series, "How You Get The Girl." Be sure to read the story before jumping in!
Did you do it? Did you read the story?
Alright, I'm trusting you. Go ahead and hit that 'Keep Reading' button you scamp.
It only seems appropriate to start this Debrief off by addressing the elephant in the room. I haven't posted anything in over a month, and "By Moonlight" came about a month after its predecessor, the conclusion to "Stone-Cold Lovers."
Work, naturally, has been a major factor.
You can see me talk about that almost two weeks ago in this Tumblr post I made about writing in a coffee shop, which came weeks after I actually started writing during a trip to a friend's house.
===
Side note:
Tumblr media
Just wanted to take a moment and acknowledge my beautiful Haley and Emily keychains. My friend who's responsible for the affairs of one ghostly farmer named Jizzabelle (Gisabelle to the laymen) got them for me! Only appropriate after I commissioned some art of her and Abigail.
Emily was my first Stardew wife, and Haley currently holds the biggest place in my heart. They make a lovely duo!
And I'll avoid any sister-wife jokes
===
While I've had some other projects like Zine writing to take care of, work and life can't explain the full absence.
The best way I can think to explain things is that:
I had the general writer's block, and
Despite the best intentions and advice of my irl friends and online pals like @alchemicallymoon and @duelbraids, I couldn't force myself to "break" that block by just... Writing something else.
This is entirely the result of my own psychosis. I have a tendency to carefully plot things out and impose a timetable that really doesn't need to exist. When I feel the cause is righteous enough, it's hard to get around that. In this case, I knew I needed to get my poll-winning idea out after dawdling for holidays like Valentine's Day, and then I knew I only wanted to post one more story before jumping on a very special event for my upcoming 30th AO3 post.
Thus, here we are: arbitrarily forcing myself into a spiral of writer's block misery because of a silly promise on Tumblr and my own sense of ordered chaos.
At the very least, this meant it's coming out not long after my AO3 pal InsertACatchyPennameHere also emerged from the woodwork to tell me they're working on something INSPIRED by my four-person friend group farm adaptations.
Much love to them, wherever they may be.
I'll probably start writing more eclectically now that my shoulders are unweighed, but don't expect my next publication to hit until I'm finished working on teasing the big event. All you Pokemon fans better get hype!
Tumblr media
And oh how sweet this publication feels. Between my great set of recent ceramics, the figure drawing class I've been attending, and creative writing, I've felt more fulfilled than ever.
You're here to talk about Stardew, though. So let us talk.
This idea began less with any one event as it did a desire to advance the Alexis/Haley relationship, and Haley's characterization in particular. It was always going to end with watercolor painting reference, but 2 Willow Lane was what I really wanted to dig into.
As I see it, a lot of what keeps people invested in Stardew when its comfy vibes becoming routine is the air of mystery in Eric Barone's worldbuilding. Haley and Emily's parents being some world-traveling duo who left their home in the siblings' care for who knows how long (and who knows how many times over their lifetime) really piqued my interest. So much so that the new writing challenge I set for myself in "How You Get The Girl" was crafting a particularly long set of descriptions that emphasize how overwhelming the parents' influence feels — without creating an impenetrable wall of text.
Hopefully I succeeded in that. Let me know!
I tried to include some vaguely real world-adjacent references into that description of the house, as happens with the magical-realism world of Stardew Valley. For example:
The computer sitting next to their bonsai tree is an iMac G3, the kind of old 'futuristic' tech that my dad loves!
A Speedwell refrigerator is based on even more vintage tech, the Mayflower fridge, but named after a different ship ridden by Pilgrims coming to America.
That city that the family visited in an old photograph with a "monument of arching, interlocking steel" is, of course, Paris — with the statue bookends referencing any number of statues in the Louvre.
Haley's FAD magazine could be referencing any number of publications, but Vogue is probably the closest analogue to what I imagine her reading.
Furthermore, I took some notes on describing the home's layout off of my sister's apartment building, and I asked my bestie @trybard for input on what kind of hanging plant should be used in the transitional hallway. Hanging pothos, philodendron, and spider plants were the three options provided, and my response was appropriate:
Tumblr media
They know so much about plants.
Go bug them about it.
I drew on other friends' knowledge to help decorate the house. Specifically, I asked one of my witchiest friends what kinds of protective wards someone like Emily would leave around doorways and windows. She had... A lot of reference material.
Tumblr media
I picked Hazel given it purportedly "protects against evil; encourages abundance and inspiration." I also picked Amethyst as one of Emily's loved gifts, one that purportedly "absorbs negative energy, promotes harmony."
My witchy friend is the same one who provided the TikTok that I referenced in my advertisement post:
Perhaps the most important thing about 2 Willow Lane was the recurring motif of Barbie's Dream House.
As a surface-level reference, I think the groundwork is clear. Blondie's love of fashion and general queen bee demeanor fits comparisons to Barbie well, and she lives in a big ol' house full of stuff. We all saw Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie last year. It's still in the cultural zeitgeist.
I'm hip with the kids.
Yet, early on I also tried to make it clear that if this is a "dream" house, it's neither Haley's nor Emily's dream. Haley is a Barbie in that stereotypical sense, but also there's much to be mined from the analogy of a sort of powerless doll in an immutable house, constrained by social obligation to her family rather than literal plastic and stickers.
The cold open of Jodi and Sam was meant to stand alone, but in execution I also think drawing Kent's absence into the conversation makes for a more thematically rich comparison to these sisters who appear to have themselves more put together.
My beta reader said this wound up being one of my stronger stories because of how all of that intertwined, which I appreciated given how down on myself I was following the whole writer's block thing.
But also.
Also.
Alexis gets to be horny. She's hitting on lonely MILFs and watching girls shake their asses to the tune of bad reality TV.
We love a buff dommy mommy farm girl in this house.
Haley is probably horny too, she just doesn't realize it yet. For now I think it's fun enough to play into her being coy about building excuses for Alexis to come over, and then getting incensed when Emily barges in on their private time meant to learn more about this farm girl she just can't get out of her head.
Tumblr media
===
Fun fact:
Every story in this series is named after a Taylor Swift song, but I know next-to nothing about her discography. All of them are suggestions by my friend whose house I was at when starting this story — the same one who controls Gardenia on the farm.
While I went with "How You Get The Girl," her alternative suggestion was "The Man."
===
All that w|w talk aside, I also want to give Sam the loveable idiot a shoutout. Had to do a fair bit of research into how skateboards are constructed for his failed ollie, and I slipped in a reference to shitty old technology that's exclusively for my beta reader to enjoy.
I also tried doing some agricultural research to figure out how the folks at Kevin Farm could have grown cucumbers so there'd be a jar of legitimate pickles... But that was getting too in the weeds.
Insert laugh track here
Decided to just go with pickled artichoke hearts to save everyone a lot of trouble.
And where does "Kevin Farm" come from, you may be asking yourself. Or the fabulous "Kevin's Special" with its definitely not innuendo tagline.
That story will have to wait for another day, my friends.

It's fucking WILD to me that I can just scrape off a square of my painted wall, take it to the hardware store, and get a little tub of identical paint. Not kinda similar, but exactly the same color, and I can smear that on the wall and it blends in completely. Fucking magic.
Anyway I'm a first time renter who fucked up a spot on the wall but it's completely vanished now and I'm so fucking thankful for Menards cause they just helped save my deposit

Digital Witchcraft
Not sure this is a real word, but I use it. When I first started practicing a couple years ago, people acted like everything had to be crunchy nature witchcraft and had to be 100 years old or more and you had to spend all your time outside.
None of this is true. I live in a tiny house in a big city. Plus I have some anxiety and other factors. What has worked for me is keeping my book of Shadows in a Google doc, writing prayers and poems to gods on my phone notes app and keeping an altar of sorts on my phone and laptop wallpapers. All of these things are valid and magickal.
Ancient pagans and magicians were using the cutting edge tech of their time. Nothing says we can't use the current tech of ours. The gods haven't stayed stuck in ancient times and they will love whatever you use from today as much as things of old.
Use what is available to you. It's all valid and all very magickal.

Terrible Fic Ideas #13: Harry Potter, but make it Tudor
As anyone who knows me will tell you, I'm fascinated by domestic history. It's part of why I tend to rewatch Victorian Farm, Tudor Monastery Farm, and the like at least once a year, and why I'm currently reading Judith Flanders' brilliant Inside the Victorian Home.
All of which, naturally, made me wonder: what if the wizarding world really was that backwards? Or more accurately: what if the wizarding world doesn't just look backwards? What if almost everything about it failed to move past, say, the year 1500?
Bear with me:
If you go back and read the accounts of just what it took to maintain a household even as late as 1899, it quickly becomes very clear that magic in place of a small army of servants and/or farm laborers is not only exceptionally efficient, it is possibly the only way to maintain the level of aspiration the guidebooks of the time suggest.
Contrariwise, there is very little that modern technology can do re: housekeeping and/or farm labor can do that magic can do substantially better. (For one example, any muggle has the means to handle any vermin problem that may occur in their home, whereas pre-1900 magic might be the only way to not have a vermin problem.)
Ergo, given the separation between wizards and muggles, its not inconceivable for wizards to believe they truly have it better - and, indeed, are better, because they don't spend half their life living in their own filth &c.
So just imagine what an HP that followed this logic might be like:
Much of the early years at Hogwarts are spent teaching children household and/or farming charms - things students would really have needed to survive even 100 years ago - or things that help build up skills needed to do household charms. As a consequence, the average Third Year student knows spells to black a stove, separate coals from cinders, chop vegetables, keep knives sharp, do the washing, and keep soot and ash in the chimney, but knows very little of magical theory, or indeed how to do much of anything with magic that can't be done as quickly and just as well with modern technology.
In fact, in this universe Third Year is when OWLs are held and is school leaving age for most. After all, only those with means have use for the magical theory and advanced studies that come after, much as how a very small percentage attended university in the Middle Ages.
As a result, most muggleborns and muggle-raised witches and wizards leave Hogwarts after Third Year and return to the muggle world. There's just nothing in it for them, and with how insular everything is only a handful ever realize there's more to magic than enchanting your brooms to sweep themselves. This does not help the opinion most purebloods have of muggles or muggleborns.
I really don't have much, or anything, of a plot beyond this. Mostly I just want to see an HP that, for all anyone in it is concerned, hasn't moved beyond the early Tudor period.
Perhaps that's all the plot would be: Harry reconciling himself to this strange new old world he's found himself in, wherein no one has ever heard of the Church of England (wizards practice a curious syncretism of Catholicism and Celtic paganism, complete with monasteries and the wheel of the year) and still think plagues strike the muggle world with considerable regularity. The Hogwarts Express remains a painful bone of contention between traditionalists and modernists, with most on both sides absolutely certain it's only magic keeping the muggle invention traveling faster than 20 mph and not exploding at any given moment.
In this world, Hermione and her ilk try to explain that the muggle world has advanced - you don't need spells to keep the heat from the fireplaces circulating throughout the room, central heating is a thing; I can just buy my own cheese, I've never seen a cow in my life; &c - but they are very firmly shot down each time, with some professors going so far as to give them detention for telling tales. Only the most stubborn stay even through Third Year to get to the good stuff.
Harry's not overly fond of more cleaning either, but it's better than the Dursleys, and admittedly with his rich Potter background he's shunted into some of the more interesting classes as well - the ones purebloods with house elves to do the cleaning get to take.
The only reason Weasleys do all seven years is because Mrs Weasley has aspirations for her children, even if they rarely follow it.
Voldemort in this universe is a little less I hate muggles than he is I hate that muggles have advanced beyond what magic can do, and therefore I fear them, though he plays into the first to get followers. There're no Horcruxes, just a Voldemort that advocates complete separation of wizarding and muggle, with muggleborns not being allowed to return to their parents after discovering magic - indeed, being taken away from their parents and raised by wizards after the first expression of accidental magic. He also advocates magical research that will keep wizards ahead of the muggles, which his opponents consider Dark or unnecessary or both.
Dumbledore in this universe is the mirror of Voldemort - he too sees that the muggles are clearly outpacing wizards, but his way of handling this is to make the wizarding world seem unthreatening to muggles. He wants to adapt on the surface - Yule to Christmas - and bide their time until the muggles are no longer a threat, either from successful reintegration or superior magics or the inevitable muggle plague that regresses their society. (In his world, there is no doubt wizards will come out ahead, because they've been at this for millennia whereas muggles only just figured out how not to live in their own filth. The average wizard is superior to the average muggle in every way, &c.)
...Okay, I guess there is some plot, but only in as much as failure to notably advance changes the shape of Voldemort's goals.
Bonuses include: 1) coming to terms with Tudor/Victorian clothing, most notably Hermione ranting at how is she supposed to do anything in a thousand skirts, corset, and heels? to which an adult or older student replies, why would a witch need to do anything? Possibly with the addition of physical exertion is dangerous for young women. 2) Harry taking the top of the class in household charms. 3) Ron letting slip that they learn things like magical theory in upper years after Hermione gets frustrated at it's lack, and instead of SPEW Hermione tries to advocate for teaching anything but household magic before most muggleborns drop out. (Nearly everyone in power thinks she's acting above her station, and what kind of witch fails to realize that household spells are the most useful and important magic separating them from muggles anyway?)
That's really all I have - an HP with a culture that's not so much evolved separately as stalled out of lack of need to evolve, and a plotless exploration of those cultural differences. Or maybe a plot concerned with now that we're faced with the need to evolve, how do we do it?
As always, if anyone choses to adopt, please let me know.

i think physical grimoires are overrated
i tried keeping a physical grimoire for far too long before i realized it just… wasn’t going to work for me. i’m autistic, i’m a perfectionist, and i need everything to be organized in perfect little ways. i needed to plan every page out, what order i was going to put everything in, what colors everything was going to be - it was too much. just writing in the damn thing was too stressful.
so now my grimoire is in my notes app!! and i fucking love it!! and yes, i miss being able to make things look cute, and i wish i could color-code, and it lacks that wonderful feeling of physically writing in a journal, but lord is it so much less anxiety-inducing. i can rearrange when i want to, i can go back and change information, i can add additional information wherever, i can add pictures and links, and i don’t have to worry about spacing or running out of pages. and i can make little folders!! it’s truly great :)

I understand that you all did not follow this blog to hear about amateur radio. Unfortunately that's going to become my personality for a bit.
Use rubber ducky antennas (the short ones that come with handheld radios that are effectively line-of-sight in Missouri) as wands.
Smack sigils on your radios.
Utilize weird band conditions to power your spells.
Close the door to your radio room to keep your critters out because hair and radios do not mix.
Cleanse by playing the screechiest ass noise you can find on ten meters, because you know SOMEONE there is transmitting with their shitty signal.

Do you use ChatGPT or a similar program to create your content?
Hello darling 🥰
Thank you for your question! As an original creator, I value transparency and authenticity in my content, so I appreciate questions like this! While I do use various resources, with a particular focus on including my own knowledge and experience as an individual practitioner to create the content I share, I have recently (maybe a month or two) started to leverage tools like ChatGPT mainly to help create a posting schedule as I have struggled with organising my time in this way in the past on this blog. It is also helpful in double-checking the accuracy of my posts before I post them to ensure I am not producing and sharing any misinformation, particularly on topics I have started researching more recently.
My understanding is that using AI in creative fields is on the rise which can be exciting, but I believe I will always strive to put my own unique perspective, personal experiences, and original ideas and writing style first into every piece of content I create, especially since I have always had a deep love of descriptive writing, so I do not think that part will change anytime soon.
I appreciate your curiosity and the opportunity to address this topic, and I hope this answers your question clearly 💗
