Obsidian.md Workflow
Introduction
Obsidian.md is a note taking app that is slowly starting to gain popularity (though notion is what I usually see in the studyblr community). There's plenty of resources online and this isn't really an introduction and assumes basic knowledge; rather, I wanted to write up my current academic workflow for using it because I almost never see obsidian workflows used for STEM related work (so if you see any others please please send them my way because I'm just making this up as I go).
Let's assume now we have a new topic/project that I want to start studying/working on.
Make a new page
Create a new page with whatever the topic is. Maybe this is for a class, a project, or some other topic that has caught your interest. I will give this page a descriptive title and add "- Main" at the end, as a way to indicate that this is more of a landing page than for note taking. For example, I could have something like "Galactic motion project - Main" or "Book Notes - Main".
I will also tag my main pages as #Main (creative, I know), just so I can quickly index my projects. An index page that links to all other main pages could also be helpful! I'm sure there could be a way to automatically index all main pages with the Dataview plugin, though I have not done this myself.
General outline
Outline your main page with things you might find immediately helpful when working on this topic. I like to have the following sections: to-dos, resources, general thoughts, questions, and current issues. I also have a "completed to-do list" at the bottom of the page so I can look back and see what I have accomplished.
Start writing!
Take notes of things that work or that you've learned. I like to write down how I troubleshoot code so that if I come across a similar issue I know how to fix it from last time. If there's a section of your main page that you find yourself referencing more than others, it might be time to make a new page for that section so you can easily link it to other pages.
If I'm studying from a book, I like to make a main page and link additional pages for each chapter.
Weekly Notes
Obsidian comes with Daily notes, but I personally prefer a weekly note. I like to write my weekly to-dos at the top for research, classes, and more general tasks. I then make a header for each day and list out my goals for each day. As the week goes on, I write up what I actually accomplished that day, even if I didn't list a task originally. Some people like to put all of their notes into their daily or weekly notes and organize later, but I just do that in a paper notebook and transfer later.
Literature
I actually don't have a setup that I'm happy with in regards to reading papers within Obsidian and I write most of my thoughts in Zotero annotations. However, I wanted to write it here regardless because it's still a part of my workflow. Zotero has a really nice feature where if you have the arxiv link to a paper, you can enter that link and Zotero will 1) read in the bibliographic information and 2) download the pdf of the paper into your library. I make a note in Zotero for each paper and note down the relevance for why I have this paper in my library. I then read through the paper in Zotero and hightlight important bits, and annotate those highlights with my own thoughts. The nice thing about Zotero is that there are several highlight colors, which I have another note on my own color code (e.g. purple for definitions or red for things I have questions on).
Plugins
Here's the list of plugins I have currently and how I use them.
Dataview: very useful for automatically organizing pages as you create them. I honestly have not used it much but I plan to as my vault grows in size.
Latex Suite: nicely formatted Latex within your notes. I enjoy using it, though my current gripes are that I can't find a way to default pairing $, so you have to manually enter a second $ and then go back inside the pair to see a preview. I also turned off the snippets, because it automatically overriding a lot of things I was writing with snippets that I did not want.
Periodic notes: The plugin I use to get Weekly notes.
Tasks: adds more features for writing to-do lists in Obsidian. You can query to-dos across your vault to list them within a single page, and organize based on due date and priority level.
Zotero Integration: Another plugin that I have honestly not used much, but I hope it will be useful as I read more literature.
Current vault view
Generally the local graph view is more useful while writing (to see immediate connections to your current page), but the vault-wide graph view is just fun to look at.

2023 and 2024...
i hope you've enjoyed the last week or so, and found some quiet moments to reflect and relax. for me, it's been busy, but really nice. this is my first real chance to just think actually, so i do apologise if this post is a little all over the place..
i have really enjoyed writing on pallastrology this year. i'm very grateful to all the support and feedback i get, so thank you very much for being a part of this little space. i hope to refine my style and dive in further this year :-) something i'm wanting to focus on this year is being more authentic to myself. i am very good at compartmentalising and separating aspects of myself and my life apart, and i want to work on bringing it all in, to hopefully have less to stress over and feel more congruent in myself.
so with that being said, i deleted my studyblr, and instead i will be posting once a month or so about how uni is going and what i'm studying, what's helping me to do my best as someone with chronic health issues, etc., maybe the odd reblog of archaeology and art and literature too.. these more personal posts won't be replacing any astrology or witchcraft posts, they'll just be a little addition, something that perhaps will be interesting too, especially if you're interested in celtic cultures or histories :-) i want to have my blog reflect more than just one side of me, and i hope you won't mind that!
anyway, i'll sign off here. wishing you all a lovely week, take care of yourselves! one of my goals this month is to decompress (physically and mentally) by doing some yoga and writing before bed each night... how about you, anything interesting? xo

hello! hope the rainy weather is treating you well.
if you're comfortable sharing - when you look back at the community you've built in the last few years, on tumblr/instagram/substack, how has it influenced you as a person (if it has)? did you face any burnouts while maintaining all of it?
also, any tips for someone wanting to start a substack but are holding themselves back because new things are scary?
have a good day!
Hello! I'm sorry I'm getting back to you so late, but I kept thinking about this and then life took over and I didn't know how to think about this. But I think have something for you now.
First off, thank you for calling it a community. I do like to think I've built a space for myself, and I'm always so touched by how everyone has responded to it. I also particularly like that whatever I do is primarily built on a Tumblr space, which has let me curate my internet experience in ways no other social media has.
I think ages ago I spoke in another context about how studyblr as a community makes me unreasonably happy because it's just a bunch of nerds who enjoy studying and academia, and that's really it. I probably would've ended up in academia either way, but it's so, so comforting to know there's a network of people also interested in academia, and especially history. I've made friends with people through here and through the instagram, and that's always been so great.
And then since about a year, this has stopped being a study blog and is a much more freewheeling space for whatever it is I'm doing or reading, and that has also been a lovely transition to live through. (More so, with the URL change). This has also been time when I've been working out ways to decide what life is, and this has been a nice drawing board of sorts.
On burnouts, yes, absolutely. Or maybe less burnouts but just needing some space. And I think that's okay, the tumblr, the instagram, all of it, they exist insofar as I want them to — and if on some days I don't, then I don't.
About starting a substack, just start. I went back and forth on mine for nearly a year before I actually started, and it took off only after I did start. I understand that it's scary, but nothing of what you do with it is set in stone: you can always switch things up. But you'll never know what you want it to be until you've begun :)

Day 9: When did you create your study blog or tumblr account? Why did you create it? Has the blog fulfilled the goals you've set out to accomplish so far?
while this blog was created in around 2017 or 2018 as a fanfic recommendation archive, i just turned it into a studyblr not long ago, i was driven by the motivation to start a daily routine, since ive always been so bad at keeping routines. but i wanted to try and do something with the time i have. and truly learn bcs i love learning. try to see if i can improve art learn coding, etc. it has definitely made me tune in almost daily. theres this part of a Sleeping at last song i really like called Six
"Is it courage or faith To show up every day?"
I think its important sometimes to simply show up.

help me understand the framework and logistics of studyblr? TOT i wanna start one but i really dont understand how it works.. please please please enlighten me <(_ _)> i would try to bribe you over with a cute sloth but cant share images in anon mode so im sorryyy
I'm no expert here in studyblr as I'm not much into it but hey I'm glad to help! And as of bribe.. I'll do it for free🤧 But if you can, pray for me to get what I'm manifesting lol (don't worry I'm not planning on to kill someone👀)
Concept : Studyblr is nothing but a core or a subculture here on tumblr where people motivate each other by posting pictures of their notes, homework, grades, study material and things like that.
You can also use studyblr to keep a track or record of your study routine and your student life journey by posting about the amount of work/study you've done on a particular day or during a particular time period say, a week or month or the amount of work you've ticked off your 'to do' list or about how your student life is going and just things like that.
You can blog here daily, weekly, monthly or just anytime you feel like.
For some people, studyblr is a way to feel accomplished and organized.
Pictures : You can post the simplest of pictures you took with your moblie camera of your notes or to do list. It doesn't have to be aesthetic at all. But major part of studyblr thrives with aesthetic notes and pictures of things you've done or achieved during the day.
But solely 'being aesthetic' shouldn't be a goal here. Rather it should be used to stay organized and ahead of others in studies by working as hard as you can.
Format : There is no specific format to blog under 'studyblr'. Just post as you like about your studies. However, you can look up to specific studyblr blogs and get an idea of how to structure the content for your blog.
Challenges : You can also take up challenges like '50 days of productivity' or '100 days of productivity' challenge under the same hash tag where you try to be productive and finish as much work as you can during these days. It could be related to your school work, completing your assignments or just you studying for your exams.
Community : Well, studyblr community is really nice and welcoming. You won't find it hard to fit in. But yes, don't get discouraged seeing the extremely productive and hardworking people here and the aestbetics they study and live with. Remember, the goal is to get motivated and inspired.
Umm.. I guess I've explained everything that you might need. If you have any queries just lemme know. I'll try to answer each and everything.
Hope you'll find it useful.

hey anna, quick question. i'm using your clocks theme (it's currently up on my blog). i recently put up a post (it's one about "in-class" notes from a seminar at nasa) with a lot of tags on it. the tags go for two lines, then the second line is just extended, like it didn't know to stop and start a new line. i'm kind of rubbish at coding, and i love your theme(s) (it was a hard decision which one to pick). can you help me out? thank you xx - maria
hey maria! thank you!!
to fix the tags overflow, find a.tag {...} and add display: inline-block; somewhere between the braces
a.tag {  margin-right: 0.5em;  color: {color:tags};  display: inline-block;}

Work Smart, Not Hard: a few practical study tips and tricks that have worked for me
(Note: These tips are not geared for students who are already doing well and would like to excel in their classes. These are for students who are trying to pass and find themselves overwhelmed and strugging to keep up. I have never been the former student, but I have certainly been the latter. "Work smart, not hard" is a mentality of pragmatism, not perfectionism, and the following tips are geared towards that.)
Ask your instructor what they want you to learn in the course (and what they're going to put on the final)
This tactic is especially helpful for big-picture people. Having a bird's eye view of the class as a whole can help you avoid getting overwhelmed with details. Though the "learn everything you can!" mindset is beautifully romantic and often espoused by professors, most of the time it is not practical. Within your class not all information is going to be equally important. Some sections are probably going to be more crucial to the course than others so instead of dividing your energy evenly across everything taught, focus in on studying and understanding that material. In courses that build upon previous information, this would mean focusing on the foundational topics
Secondarily, do not be ashamed of directly asking what is on the exam. Some instructors might take offense to that but you can always dress it up in alternative language to sugarcoat it. Suggestions of how to ask include "What are the key takeaways for this course?" and "What should we come of this course knowing?" or my favorite, "I want to really understand the material. What should I focus most of my studying on first?"
Don't set up study plans before a course begins (and/or don't force yourself to stick to them)
This is an optional and potentially controversial tip but I have a reason for claiming this. Too many times, I've gotten halfway through a semester only to realise that the study plans or summary reading sheets that I created at the start of the term have been untouched. Or worse, I've been using them and completely ignoring more efficient way to study. Classes, especially STEM classes, can really vary in how they are taught and what you are expected to learn/do within them. Some courses rely heavily on a textbook and structured reading notes help with that. Some courses list a textbook but barely use it, in which case stuctured reading notes aren't going to be particularly efficient. Sure, it would be nice to read the suggested text and put together a document of notes, but if reading the textbook isn't necessary to learn the material (which, in some courses, it honestly really isn't) then you are under no obligation to do so.
However, if you know what your course is going to be like and know that you work best with a study plan set out before the course begins, then use a study plan! You know how you study best (more on that later)
Set achievable goals (or break down your goals into smaller more achievable steps)
It's great to push yourself and to want to do the best you can do and set these lofty ideals (I'm looking at freshman first semester me right now) but that's also a really great recipe for burnout and a plummet in self-confidence. If you're an average studyblr tag following student, I'm sure there's been times where you've not managed to check off everything on your to-do list and felt a sense of guilt for not doing so. You shouldn't feel guilty, but I also do that on a daily basis and know that me just saying "don't feel guilty <3" isn't particularly useful.
So instead, break down your lofty goals into smaller steps. It would be great if I could read three chapters today but based on past experience I've only been able to do one or two a day, so I'll just change my goal to one for today and balance out the rest of my week's tasks so I can still complete all of my reading. Alternatively, put the bar to reach in a different place. Maybe I do need to read all three chapters today but instead of reading them as academic sources and taking notes, I'll instead set a goal of reading through all the words like a storybook. It might not be as ideal or perfect, but I'm still going to get a subset of the necessary information that way and it's something I know I can achieve.
Shameless point grabbing is your friend (and partial credit is better than no credit)
This one is pretty self explanatory; point grabbing is a blessing, particularly on non-multiple choice exams. Circling back to the "ask your professor what they're putting on the exam" point above, sometimes if you simply demonstrate that you understand (or are trying your best to understand) what they want you to learn, they may be more lenient in their grading. There have been many times where I've gotten stuck on an exam question with limited time left on the clock, and quite literally written out in words my thought process and what steps I was trying to do. I have written the names of concepts on my exams. I have written notes about how my numbers feel off and should be in this other numerical range instead. And sometimes, I have gotten credit and points back for doing so.
Good instructors want you to learn and understand that uni is difficult, so if you can show them that you are learning in some capacity they may let things slide a bit. It's the academic equivalent of looking an approaching driver in the eye while crossing the road; most of the time people's conscious kicks in and they avoid totaling you or your grades.
And most importantly: Learn how you learn (and don't always listen to advice on the internet)
I wasted the most study time trying to apply tips given to me by other people that were counterintuitive to how I actually process information. Thanks to a lot of self-reflection, I've discovered that I learn best when I am working alone to understand the information, asking my instructor or peers specific questions to patch in where I feel inadequate, and then going to review sessions to gauge where I am in relation to the class at large. Therefore, no matter how hard I tried, constantly working with other people in study groups was never going to be an efficient use of my time.
Figure out how you process and catagorise information in your own mind. Figure out if you need others to bounce ideas off to, or if you need the silence of an empty room. Figure out if you need wide open spaces to physically lay out your notes or if you need a small tidy desk with only a few things on it. Figure out if you need handwritten notes that force you to slow down and summarize instead of copying slides, or if you need digital notes full of thorough information that you can quickly rearrange. Figure out what you don't need. Figure out if you need a combination of everything depending on the material that day, or if you need one method that's tried and true.
Learn how you learn, so that you can work more quickly, more efficiently, and more intuitively.

2/16/2022
Today I finally got the reading planner that was supposed to be in my Owlcrate box from November. Honestly, it was worth the wait because it's really nice. I've also missed a couple of days of the February productivity challenge, by @caffinateef-studyblr, so I'm going to do those here too.
Day 16: What's something you would like to make if you had the time and/or skill?
I would love to learn to make and edit videos. I've wanted to be one of those people that do videos of a day in their life and I might do it someday if I have some time.
Day 11: What’s a piece of random trivia that you know?
The distance between a light post is 100 yards.
Day 12: What’s your favorite family tradition?
my favorite family tradition is that we don't slam people's faces into their cake on their birthday. 😂
Day 13: Do you like video games? What's a game you've wanted to play for a while? What's the last game you've played?
I really like playing video games but I don't have time to play as much anymore. I've wanted to play the batman games for the longest time. The last game I played was Fallout 3. Fallout 3 and 4 are some of my favorite games.
Day 14: What's a youtube channel you really like?
A youtube channel I really like is Dobochobo. I love watching her college vlogs and watching her what she eats in a day videos.
Day 15: When you hang out with friends, what do you usually prefer to do?
When I hang out with my friends I love hearing about everything that they have done since we graduated high school, and doing anything where I could just be around them. We could literally sit in someone's living room and do nothing and I would be happy.

I think I failed my cardiology exam on Friday but I’m trying to stay calm and start prepping for this week (we start pulmonology). Spent the day yesterday trying to relax.
Day 28: Zoomester Studyblr Challenge
Share with us your favorite word (it can be in any language).
boketto (Japanese, means "gazing vacantly into the distance without thinking about anything specific")
Tag someone who has great text posts.
@bulletnotestudies
What has been your best zoomester experience so far?
We have weekly small group case discussions, and it's the same group each week. Since everything is online, it's hard to meet other people and it can feel really isolating. So it's nice to be able to interact with some of my peers on a regular basis, and I feel like I learn a lot from the discussions.
If you aren't about to graduate, tell us something you really love about school.
Not gonna lie, I feel pretty burned out at the moment, so it's kind of hard to think of anything I love about school...I guess knowing that at the end of the day, all the learning and work I'm doing is necessary for the career I want.
Spill the tea about the things you've done during the zoomester (online shopping, courses taken, any hobbies).
My whole first year of medical school is online because of the pandemic.
As for hobbies, I've started knitting and learning Russian. Привет!

Whew! - I finally did it.
Tumblr media
Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing okay during these really weird times :)
Tumblr media
So my friend, @studywithprincess, convinced me to start a studyblr which (fingers cross!) will actually keep me accountable throughout the summer holidays.
I'm going to post about a variety of things: study tips and advice, memes to keep us going, what I'm working on and, of course, what I'm studying. I'll be reposting helpful and inspiring posts too but one thing that I'm definitely going to post about is actually a subject that I don't study (economics) but I thought it would sound cool to say I blogged about in my personal statement.
Anyways ... if you're not completely bored yet, here's more about me:
About Moi
There is really only one thing you should know about me:
As you can probably tell, I like to talk - a lot - which means my responses are about 1.5x longer than the average person.
No, but seriously, I'm really excited to become part of this community and join the cult status of being an actual serious candidate.
The Basics
My name's Danielle (although you've probably figured that out by now)
I'm 17, turning 18 in September (where my Libras at?)
I live in England and, no, I don't like tea :(
Academics:
I'm an IB student in Year 12 (11th grade). I know, I know, I chose a painful route but to be fair, A-levels isn't looking easier! I take HL Global Politics, Philosophy and Maths and SL English Lit, Biology and French.
Right now, I'm focusing on my coursework and starting my revision (because I'm a serious candidate now) as well as writing my personal statement which was actually due a week ago :)
Also, a question for American students who do IB - do any of you do the IB in 3 years? If so, I'm really jealous.
Interests:
I mean, I like a lot of things. Here are a few of them and if you like these too, I'd love to geek out with you!
Style and fashion theory
Social media marketing
Watching "nerdy" videos - my faves are Extra History and any of CGP Grey's and Kurtzgesagt's videos
Reading
Learning languages (I'm trying to learn French right now)
Sports - mainly running and rugby
No. 1 has to be sleeping though - there's nothing like a good night and day of sleep.
Anyways, enough about me. You probably follow these people already but in case you don't, you totally should!
Studyblrs I Stalk:
@eintsein - amazing for *really* helpful studying tips and the graphics are incredible
@emmastudies - she taught me how to actually start a studyblr, need I say anymore?
@studyblrmasterposts - literally anything on studying can be found here, it's insane
@studyblr - so much positivity in one place!!!
@goblinstudies - such. pretty. notes.
And I couldn’t forget the OGs:
@studyquill
@studyign
Other studyblrs I love:
@studypetals @productive-tips @aslastudies @studyingdawn @pancakestudies @myhoneststudyblr @starrystvdy @studythenight-away @gabrilearnelle @tiredbiostudent @kilostudies @smartspo @studyburst @serendistudy @caffinated-rey @studyxinn @studyandicedcoffee @athenus (technically not a studyblr but amazing study content) @amorstudying @alevelblr
Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. It’s really nice to put myself out here into this amazing community and I’m so excited to start posting and meeting you all. First up tomorrow, 100 days of productivity.

ELEONORA/BENEDETTA GARGARI FROM SKAM ITALIA IS MY ACTUAL QUEEN. last year, when i first started my studyblr and until i returned this year on july, she was my icon for so long like she was my og studyblr icon and so many people thought that i was her at first (which was, you know, an absolute honor and accomplishment) and she’s just so beautiful and lovely and phenomenal!! when i returned, i decided i wanted to change it up a bit and went with noora, but eleonora will always have a soft spot in my heart!! and especially now that i’m incredibly in love with italy and have realized my true calling like she is literally just a whole angel!! i’m only halfway through skam italia and haven’t even gotten to her season yet (by the way, giancarlo commare is the top tier italian boy like wow but also lorenzo zurzolo from under the riccione sun kinda owns my heart too so uh oops), but i’m so excited! i’m gonna put off watching it because i want to watch it when i learn more italian and feel more confident in it so i can use it as a way to practice the language more rather than just for my own entertainment and satisfaction!! but i honestly cannot wait like my heart has been craving to watch skam italia so bad (i even convinced italian boy to start watching it oop), but i shall wait!! i wish us both good luck in our italian journey, my lovely!! and i cannot wait to see more of your beautiful posts blessing my dash!! i’m so glad that i can make you happy like that honestly makes me feel so happy to know and, please, feel free to drop by anytime to talk to me about anything!! i feel like you and i would make such great friends 🤍✨

I'm not sure if you already know it's me but um I made a studyblr and the url is @/spacesque ^-^ I still haven't posted anything of my own other than the introductory post, but I'm hoping to maybe posting something soon? I saw that you changed the theme of your layout, and it's really nice!! I wish you all the best in successfully applying and getting into the school! At my school, seniors are given “little sisters” to help show around the school. After meeting with mine over the weekend to give some advice, I’d figure I’d share some with other incoming freshmen, some study-related, some not.
also, if you're from across the pond, freshman = year 10 (age 14/15) and senior = year 13 (age 17/18).
x everyone else is as nervous as you
on the first day of school, you’re probably going to be rather nervous (and excited, hopefully!) but the truth is, no one really cares about the shirt that doesn't exactly go with your pants, or the toothpaste you spilled on yourself, or the make-up that's a bit smudged. everyone else is worried about what they look like to worry about what you look like.  the only memories I have from my first day of high school are 1) my mom trying to take pictures of me; 2) my best friend tipping back so far in her chair that she fell 3) the free pizza. I couldn't tell you what anyone else is wearing, or if there was anything wrong with their outfits. that's going to be the same with you. no one is going to care about your faults, so just try to enjoy the first of four years.
x take photos with your friends
or, more generally, record the memories you make! I understand that you may think something isn't important enough to record, but it's better to have too many pictures instead of not enough - or, worse, none at all. if pictures aren't your thing, or you want to have a place to express your thoughts, keep a journal. not only is it a good place to record what's happening, but you'll also get to see changes in the way you form your sentences, the way you layout your journal entries, and even your handwriting.
x find a balance in socializing
depending on what kind of person you are (introverted or extroverted), you may spend too much time hanging out with friends, or too little. always make sure you leave time for studying, but also time for yourself. if you don't know where to start, try splitting it up equally - one-hour studying, one hour with friends - and adjust from there.
x notes are for studying!!
if you're reading this, I'm assuming you're part of the studyblr community. that probably means you've seen all of the really pretty, aesthetically pleasing notes that people post. while they are nice to look at, they take time. if the way you take notes gets in the way of your studying time, you have to change. it doesn't matter how your notes look if they don’t help you learn.
x find what kind of note-taking works best for you
there are so many different ways to take notes: Cornell, boxing, outlining, charting - and that's just for lecture-based lessons. you may find that a certain way of taking notes works better for different subjects. I would recommend taking notes on something the first week of school (when your workload should be pretty light) then taking the same notes over the weekend in different styles. that way you have a general idea of how the same notes would look different ways, and what you find the most helpful!
x back up your notes
this is honestly a life-saver. I would recommend typing your notes out and then saving them to google drive, but even if you can't do that, taking a picture of your notes can be helpful. then, if you were to ever lose any, you would still have a copy. but also, when mid-terms / finals come around, you have a date for when these notes were taken.
x join as many clubs as you want*
*of course I'm not saying join every club, but I am saying that some clubs aren't as demanding as others. you'll probably be able to join the library club and environmental club at the same time. that being said, don't expect to be able to join the student council and academic decathlon. like with everything in your academic career, it’s about finding balance.
x practice public speaking
this is one of the points you see and think, yeah, yeah, everyone says that. I'll just stand in front of the mirror and talk no! I mean make yourself practice. join the drama club, volunteer to do speeches whenever you can. it's terrifying all during your practice, I know. but it's literally the only way to get better and, after the fact, you won't even know why you worried so much.
x don’t worry about ‘finding your calling’
everyone will make it seem you need to know what you want to study in college in the next two years. if you do know what you’re passionate about already, that’s great. but if not, don’t stress. just try to do well in your classes and try to find a hobby that you enjoy. don’t worry about building your life in the first 20% percent of it.
x don’t be afraid to join the studyblr community!
the studyblr community is great if you want to keep up with your schoolwork. it’s super motivating and there are so many resources at your disposal if you look/ask for them. plus, the community is super nice. do keep up with your blog though I’ve seen so many people - myself included - try to start a studyblr account, then let it fall aside. obviously, don’t prioritize your blog over important things like school and mental health, but try to keep up with it. that’s the only way you can grow and (as corny as it may sound) make new friends.
-
Well, that’s about everything I told my little sister. If you would still like advice, my ask box and private messages are always open! Even if you want to talk to someone else, like I said, everyone is really nice.
Enjoy your first year of high school!

hey! I don't know if you've done this before since I started following you recently but I was wondering if you've got some tips on how to write dialogue? I suck at that massively and could really use some help. Thank you and have a nice day/night :)
Dialogue can be a tricky thing, so I’ve compiled some tips and resources that can hopefully help you.
My first tip is to make sure you’re familiar with dialogue punctuation, or at least the basics, because the last thing you want to do with your dialogue once you finish your manuscript is go through and type a bunch of commas in place of periods.
Dialogue Punctuation
Another thing is to keep in mind characterization in dialogue. Making them sound genuine and individual in the things they say and how they say them, and those sort of things.
Keeping Characters From Sounding Identical
Ways To Fit Character Development Into your Story
How To Develop A Distinct Voice In Your Writing
Make sure the dialogue pushes the story forward and flows nicely. Make it feel like a real conversation in the reader’s head (though not to realistic, because then the dramatic effect of it all gets muffled).
Improving Flow In Writing
How To Perfect The Tone In A Piece Of Writing
Here is my post with general dialogue tips that should help you as well:
Tips On Dialogue

I’d also really appreciate it if you would check out my separate blog dedicated to my current work in progress, as well as my studyblr, which helps keep me motivated as a full time student.
