A friend on FB pointed out that the Once Upon A Time characters Jefferson and Grace who appear in the episodes about Wonder are references to the 1960s classic rock song "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane. Their lead singer was a woman called Grace Slick, and my mind is kinda blown right now.
I feel really dumb too cause I've heard this band before cause they also recorded "Want Somebody To Love" but I never knew their name or have heard "White Rabbit" before tonight. I used to be really into classic rock, but I stopped listening to it cause I realized there's so much I don't know about it. Like the only bands I really knew were Queen, Journey, Kiss, AC/DC -- just the mainstream ones that everyone else knows and loves, and for some reason that made me feel inferior. And when I was a kid I fell in love with this dude I met in an AOL chatroom and he claimed to be a musician, and he was really annoying about how he knew so much more than I did about classic rock and roll and just treated me like I was dumb because of it. On top of that, my love for this stuff was really influenced by That 70s Show cause I used to watch the reruns every night when I was a kid since we didn't have cable and all the shit going down with Danny Masterson and the rest of the cast made me really uncomfortable.
I think I internalized this ideology that if I liked the same things the characters did than that would make me a bad person. Which is stupid cause these are fictional characters and really I have no idea if the celebrities who portrayed them have anything in common with the characters or not. And like this music isn't just a backdrop to some shitty 1990s sitcom -- it's about rebellion against the heteronormative Christian patriarchal society. And I'm gonna stop now cause I could seriously go on for hours about this stuff if I don't.
I just thought this was a really cool piece of information about Once and wanted to share.

Something my dad did when he was a kid (not sure what year- if I had to guess maybe 1966. Which would have made him 6 when he wrote this)
I love this so much it reads: “On this special day I like to play hochey hockey on my rink we play with a pufeshnol professional puck. But when I score a goat the ether other teme team goos shouts ‘oh gees’.”
Canadian boys and their hockey lolololol

HOW DID I MISS THIS
I swear to you, I was watching closely yesterday.
I had even played it back in slow motion, but thought I was just seeing things.
...
...nope, the door got so excited for Christmas it phased out of our whole freakin' dimension.
Fortunately while floating out in space, it then managed to land a TV contract portraying The Scary Door in Futurama. True story.
