Steve’s Endgame Ending fixed
What if at the end of Endgame when Steve is returning the stones, he has to give up something he loves, right? So what if he gives up his super-serum effects (an au tweaked and borrowed from @growingpaynes-art ), and turns back into pre-serum-Steve? A list of reasons why I think this would work:
A) Straight off the bat it’s easy to keep Steve in the MCU with Chris Evans’ contract ending if they replace the actor who plays pre-serum-Steve (obviously with a guy who looks similar to the first movie, but without the CGI). I know people might be confused why he looks different but the MCU’s changed actors before and it’s not the hardest stretch of the imagination. Also thematically it’d be cool to have Steve be literally unrecognisable to the audience.
B) I think a lot of writers for the Avengers are so focused on writing ‘Captain America’; ‘bland, stoic, with no sense of humor’, that they forget about Steve Rogers; the young disabled man who would put his life on the line to fight fascists. This would be a great way to get back to the basics of Steve’s character and show the audience who he truly is.
C) Honestly it would just be nice to show that Steve is just as righteous and brave with his disabilities, something not often shown in media. Even the MCU likes to focus on Steve’s asthma and ignore that he actually was disabled. (which i’ll touch on in a second).
*and now for some more headcannon-y stuff*
A) From screenshots from the movie, and a list at Disneylands Tomorrowland exhibit, the canon list of Steve’s disabilites and health problems are:
Asthma
Anemia
Diabetes
Color-blindness
Arrhythmia
Scoliosis
Chronic colds
High blood pressure
Easy fatigability
Heart trouble
Sinusitis
Fallen arches
Partial deafness
Stomach ulcers
Pernicious Anemia
Astigmatism
Nervous troubles of any sort
History of; scarlet fever, rheumatic fever
(Jesus Christ Steven)
B) It’d be cute to see Steve actually be able live with his disabilities, unlike in the 30’s. I cannot stress how much eugenics there was back then (and still is now, but WAY more casually acceptable back then). Even the actual Captain America storyline reeks of it a bit; experiment on a disabled man to ‘fix’ him and turn him into a soldier. However in the 21st century imagine if he could get the help he actually needs! Obviously a lot of his stuff is chronic, but he could actually live with it instead of just surviving like he would have done. And be able to afford them, unlike back in the Great Depression. Back braces, inhaler, mobility aids etc. It’d be nice to see a disabled person living with themselves as the HAPPY ending, instead of as a tragedy as it’s usually played.
C) The story of him actually seeing worth in his old (new?) body and himself instead of just a vessel for Captain America. A self-acceptance arc. Being able to retire in peace without anyone recognising him as Captain America without having to give up his life in the 21st century.
D) The Smithsonian exhibit is so closely tailored to his propaganda persona that it fails to acknowledge him as a person. I wouldn’t be surprised if the general public has never even seen a photo of him pre-serum, or knew how bad his illnesses were besides ‘just asthmatic and skinny’. He could easily walk around and not be noticed by anyone.
Tldr: Steve’s proper ending in Endgame should have had him return to his skinny form in exchange for the stone, and him being able to retire to finish art school in peace.

How I would have done Wanda in the MCU (pt.2)
Note that this is obviously comprised of my own opinions and if you don’t agree with them, simply scroll away and ignore it
Helloooo
So this is part 2, where I will tackle the phase 3 projects i.e. civil war, infinity war and end game
(Part 1 was winter soldier and age of Ultron)
Note the fact that obviously everything that was going to happen to her character arc in phase 4 was not planned when she was seen in winter soldier so I do have the benefit of hindsight and this is by no means, something that should have been done or anything.
I am not a screenwriter and this will not be perfect.
Without further ado, let’s get into it
Captain America : Civil War
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I can’t control their fear, only my own”
Now I think this film is amazing in its portrayal of Wanda. But with my version of age of ultron, some changes do need to come about
🥀 a confrontation between her and Tony
So this concludes the plot line that I added in age of ultron of Wanda still resenting Tony
The missile that killed her parents and took away her home was from stark industries. Her brother died in a rampage caused by one of his creations .That very creation destroyed the city she lived in
How can she ever come to terms with that?
Perhaps the scene could start out with Tony trying to recruit her onto his side
She’s powerful. If they can convince a mutant with such power to join their side and sign the accords then they’ll be able to convince almost everyone that what they are doing is right
Wanda spares him one glance before looking away
He starts talking and making an argument, trying to be gentle
No longer being able to bear the sound of his voice, she lashes out
Her accent comes out again
The television glitches
A window shatters
“ You took my parents, my brother and my city away from me and you have the audacity to even think that I would comply to your team!? “
“ listen kid, I understand- “
“No you don’t! How can you!? You live in luxury, you are at the head of the avengers and you have nearly every military at your fingertips. You don’t understand and you never will”
She storms off and all Tony can do is sink into self pity
I think it gives more insight into siding with Cap and gives the audience a reminder of what Tony did
🥀 more scenes with vision
Just to set up the thing with the already emotional thing of her losing him 3 times
The cooking scene is adorable so more of that
Maybe her watching the news and drowning in guilt of what she did and vision just coming passing through the wall and into her room, startling her
‘Vis, we’ve talked about this’
‘Apologies’
He sits down and with one look at the news and then Wanda, he takes a cd (it can be one she gave him or one he found in her room) and switches from the news to a sit com
‘The last episode was too much of a cliffhanger. If you don’t mind’
Wanda just chuckles and watches, now with a wide smile on her face
And then Steve comes in and tells them Tony wants to meet with every one
While I like the scene where Steve is comforting her, I do find this more suitable.
As they end up on opposite sides, they still care for each other and I think this can also help us understand how vision (currently) is awkward and does not know how to go about things but he understands Wanda and Wanda understands him. They’re both new to all this, they’re both awkward, they both want the best for each other. But they have to fight against each other.
We could also get something with them discussing their futures and where they want to end up and Vision lets slip something like ‘we could live together… or not, it’s up to you really’
‘That doesn’t sound bad actually, can save money’
‘Yes of course. Money.’
Now these scenes, paired with Tony’s confrontation scene later or earlier on, ties into the rift vision and stark get into over vision nearly causing Rhodey’s death
🥀her in prison
Just to see vision’s reaction and him maybe lashing out, reminding Tony of Ultron, making him almost scared. Vision calms down eventually but this just makes Tony more weary of both of them and grow resentment
🥀her aesthetic
Again one of those nit-picky points but I do think it would have helped her character
We see her room in one scene, right?
Instead of it being bland like shown, maybe there are posters of popular sitcoms, tapestries of gothic art (she never left her emo phase, what do you mean), a pile of newspapers documenting the avengers’s cases or a pile of cds
Anything
Her costume, again , unnecessarily sexualises her
While I like the idea of it, maybe ditch the heels and give her more coverage for protection?
Olsen will look great either way but it just bugs me that this blatant sexualisation is not part of her character in any way, just there for the hell of it.
Now just some things I do like about this movie (almost everything) :
🥀the incident in the beginning of the movie setting up how Wanda still hasn’t settled into this whole superhero thing
🥀the cooking scene with Vision
🥀her dynamic with hawkeye
🥀how she actually faces proper consequences (which becomes rarer as projects go on)
🥀the brief scenes we get of her in prison
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Avengers : Infinity War
“why was she up there all this time?”
Okay so I really love this movie
And I barely have any changes to give to her character as I think it ties in pretty nicely. The interactions are fun, the emotion is there
just one thing to conclude the Bruce plot line from age of ultron
🥀a scene between her and Bruce
This is the first time they see each other, both characters have been through shit
Maybe it could start off as Wanda approaching him. She drove him through all this madness in the first place
Bruce is still shaken from everything that has happened and seems distant but tries to appear friendly. How he always does, I suppose
Now it doesn’t have to be much
Just a small conversation that starts off awkward, that is in nature of both characters at the time
Then it gets deeper, Wanda apologises
She understands now, how it feels to be painted as a monster by the public, how to have so many against you. She tells him it was driven by rage, by unnecessary fury and how she wishes she could take it back
Bruce, unsure, takes a pause and then smiles
Faintly but smiles
He reassures her that it’s okay and he forgives her but they have a bigger threat on their heels and right now, the best solution is to stick together
Despite everything that has happened in their pasts
Other than that, everything about her character is near perfection in this film. The plot line with vision, the acting GAH THE ACTING, every decision she makes, like * chef’s kiss *
Avengers : Endgame
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
”you took everything from me”
Same as infinity war, I do not have any such thing to add to this film
but I do wanna conclude a plot line
🥀a scene with Tony
Now this is the epic battle that has gotten 10 years of build up, it would just be outright stupid to devote an entire scene to them. But maybe we can see Tony’s reaction
as the slides show the different people who have been blipped, when Wanda’s comes up - we flash to two people
Clint and Tony
A mentor and an enemy
Tony sinks to his hands again before lashing out in his speech against Steve
he couldn’t save Peter
he couldn’t apologise to Wanda
he couldn’t keep the avengers together
now that is just a small thing but it does show that he feels sorry and wanted to make it up to her but that chance might be gone forever .
we could also rope in vision’s death as a contributing factor to his explosion
now in the final battle, when everyone has arrived, I want to keep it almost the same
but instead of Wanda saving black panther from Thanos, she saves tony
just swap out their roles and make it so that Tony is trying to fly away with the gauntlet with Thanos at his heels and then Wanda flies down from the sky in between them
the showdown goes the exact same with Wanda only getting knocked out when Thanos calls his troops
she falls to the ground and is helped up by Tony (who has now passed the gauntlet to someone else)
now can everything be fully forgiven
no. but they are fighting for a cause bigger than both of them. They are fighting and they are fighting together. A small acknowledgment passes between them as they separate. Giving both a sense of peace. When Tony dies, a pan over to Wanda
She isn’t crying. Cried enough because of the titan.
she’s not angry. she’s understanding. She understands why he did so, she understands for whom he did so, and gains a new found respect for him. some might say too late but she does, a small smile appears on her face before she retreats back to the ship. Letting his family mourn.
He understood. He always understood. Now she can understand as well. but yeah
that’s it for today
I hope you liked it
let me know if there are any changes you would have liked to see

Starbucks Endgame Ending
1384 unedited words that I wrote at midnight last night as an avid Stucky shipper still salty about Endgame
Also...
HI! I’m semi-back. Not gonna be back for much longer, maybe a few months. I have a lot of news about my life if anyone is interested, but if not that’s cool. I know it’s been a hot minute and I promised things that never happened. Maybe I’ll do them now! We’ll see. Enjoy this surprise that I didn’t think I’d post, but I had a random urge to get back on here and post something!
Warnings: Uhh...a few injuries, I guess, and fluff??? Kinda??? I honestly dunno what this is. Don’t come at me for it being a downgrade. I haven’t edited it, I’ve barely reread it from writing it last night. Just wanted to say hi and post again. I miss you all!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everything happened so quickly. Helicopters appeared, cars drove up, agents filing out and around the team.
Steve felt gross and tired and he hurt, but they won. They won and it was all okay.
Most of them were flighted back to Manhattan, to the Avengers Tower since the Compound was in rubble. Tony was already drawing up plans for a new one. Everyone was separated to be patched up. Steve and the other five originals were herded into a room to be debriefed, which was stupid. To their surprise, Nick Fury was there with news about reorganizing SHIELD.
Steve sat there in slight disbelief. He didn’t expect thanks or any special reward or anything, but they just went through the biggest fight of their lives. Couldn’t they get some time off before being shoved into politics again?
With the government down their throats, wondering what happened, the captain really didn’t think they’d get a break, but Fury stepped up after nearly six hours of meaningless debates and debriefs that Steve and the others were falling asleep during, and decided to let them go. Steve was never more grateful.
They checked in on everyone, finding most of them and congregated on the main floor, lounging around, in conversation about the past five years.
Tony immediately broke off to hug Peter, the kid having been talking to Carol animatedly. Thor reunited with Loki and the other six Asgardians who came back to the Tower - Heimdall, Valkyrie, Lady Sif, and the Warriors Three, as Steve recalled. Bruce was also pulled into that group. Clint stepped aside to call his family, bringing Natasha, who he hadn’t left the side of. Steve looked around for the one person he wanted to talk to, but he couldn’t find him. Instead, he moved from group to group, eventually getting into a conversation with Tony, Nat, T’Challa, Carol, and Thor about what the next move was.
“I’m gonna take off soon,” Carol said. “There’s a lot of other planets that are going to need help pulling things together.”
“You can plan something with the Guardians.” Tony suggested, nodding over to the group that was spread out making new Earth buddies.
Carol scrunched her nose up, before shrugging. “Yeah, I probably will. The more the merrier and all that. What are you gonna do?”
“I have Asgard to help set back up.” Thor declared, smiling over at his group. “But I have a feeling I won’t be needed there for long, so I’ll be back shortly.”
“And we get to have meetings with the UN.” Natasha sighed, rubbing her temples. “So much fun.”
Steve crossed his arms, leaning against the kitchen island they were near, letting his head bow. “It’s not going to be easy, but it needs to be done. Hopefully we can get things sorted to a certain degree by Christmas. Get people home to their families.”
Tony frowned. “I know they said no one’s allowed to go-”
“I think everyone deserves at least a couple weeks off.” Steve reassured him. “We’ll meet back here-”
“Nah. The new Compound should be done in record time. By Thanksgiving.”
“Alright, well, we’ll meet back at the Compound, then. Everyone. Probably sign a few things that everyone agrees with. Hopefully get things structured enough that we won’t be needed.”
“Nick’s already on it.” Natasha gave a small chuckle. “He hasn’t even been back for 24 hours and he’s already got the government in a headlock.”
Tony nodded. “I don’t think I’ve ever been more grateful to that man.”
“He’s a good guy.” Carol agreed with a grin. “So…what about the people?”
“Yeah,” Steve sighed. “We have to do head counts. Or at least the governments will have to. And the team will have to be set up. I don’t even know who we have here right now.”
Natasha shrugged. “We got separated before I could really see. But it seems most everyone’s down here socializing. I’m surprised we’re all on our feet, to be honest.”
Tony yawned, stretching his arms out. “You can say that again. I’m beat.”
“Yeah, me too.” Steve admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m really just waiting on the confirmation that everyone’s fine.”
Every time he heard the elevator ding, he looked over wishing to see him, but he hadn’t come yet. It scared him. What if he ran off again in the midst of all this chaos? What if this whole Snapping business scared him off? Steve wouldn’t blame him if that was the case, of course. He wished he could run away too.
The four continued the conversation, but Steve was spiraling a little bit. Now that everything was slowing down, hearing the laughter and seeing the relief in his team as he looked around, he felt…weird. Like it hadn’t really hit him-
Ding!
Or at least, it hadn’t until he walked in.
He was gorgeous. He’d showered, his hair washed, the dirt previously stamped on him washed off. His skin was littered with bruises and cuts and stitches, but so was everyone else’s. He was laughing, actually laughing, Sam walking beside him, a hand on his shoulder (his other arm in a cast). Peter, like a little puppy with his tail wagging, ran over to talk to them.
It was like a tidal wave crashed into him. Steve saw his entire life, every scene involving that man, flicker through his mind. Every up and down. From the moment he was eight years old getting saved from a group of older kids by a tiny nine year old, to their first dance, their first kiss, his mother’s passing, their apartment, their late night arguments, their early morning make ups, the fear of the War, the missing piece during the USO show, keeping warm in a cold tent, wet socks, the train, the heartache, the cold…and now. Here. Flashy lights, mind blowing technology, new friends, new family, new foes, aliens, betrayals, secrets, politics, robots, experiments, running, dying, living, crying, laughing…
He couldn’t stop the tears that came flooding down his face. He vaguely registered Tony’s concerned voice, but he was running. He was running faster than he was sure he ever did. He felt like a kid, bones rattling, muscles aching, lungs hurting, but it didn’t matter, just like it didn’t matter back then. Because his destination was worth it. He’s always been worth it.
“Bucky!”
The brunette caught him, arms holding him up as the blonde clung onto him, legs winding around his torso. Steve buried his face in Bucky’s neck and did something he hadn’t done in a very long time.
He sobbed.
He cried and cried, fingers gripping onto Bucky’s soft t-shirt, not caring about the others around. Not caring about the persona he’d built all these years. Not caring about the shield, or Captain America, or the Avengers, or Thanos, or anyone. He didn’t care. He had Bucky. He had Bucky.
Bucky fell to his knees, holding Steve just as tight, one hand wrapped around his back while the other rested in golden locks, arms cradling him protectively.
“Stevie.”
It was whispered into his hair, a simple word, but for Steve it was everything. He was everything.
They were boys again, Steve crouching down to Bucky’s level, the brunette holding his scraped up knee with tears in his ears. Bucky climbing into bed with a sick, tiny thing, holding him to keep him warm and promising to never let go so long as Steve didn’t, either. Two boys comforting each other after nightmares. After losses. After fears turned reality.
Bucky and Steve. Steve and Bucky.
“Don’t leave. Please.” Steve whimpered, tightening his grip as if it were possible to get closer.
“I’m right here.” Bucky reassured him, pressing his lips against Steve’s temple, eyes clenched shut.
Pulling away from Bucky’s throat, Steve held the brunette’s jaw so tenderly, eyes wide and teary. Bucky sniffed, having cried a few tears himself, before giving that charming smile. It was like a breath of fresh air; one he hadn’t taken since 1941.
“I’m with ya, love.” Bucky murmured, setting his forehead against Steve’s. The captain laughed, a sob mixing with it.
“‘Til the end of the line.”
“You better believe it, punk.”
Steve shoved him, saying, “jerk”, before pulling him back in, this time for a kiss.

What's your favourite line from United States Antarctica?
Oh man there’s so many bits from that fic that I love. Here’s two of my fave exchanges in it
Nyoom [tommy] has changed Loki [loki] to Baby Loki
Baby Loki: if you do not change this ridiculous nickname immediately i will place a curse upon your bloodline, thomas
Nyoom: jokes on you my bloodline is already cursed
Antionette [cassie]:okay but why was billy in another universe in the first place
Maygickyk[Billy]: i was just chillin
And here’s a bit from the chapter I will one day finish writing, I swear.
Antionette: interrupting the thing where we mutually ignore each other to ask why billy called him mr doctor strange
Nyoom: because thats his name?
Hawkeye the cooler [Kate]: no his name is doctor strange
Nyoom: yeah and you’re supposed to use a “mr” in front of adults if you respect them which i dont but billy does. So its mr doctor strange
Patriot [eli]: his name is just strange
Nyoom: yeah thats what he said but i was like “yeah its up there on weird names but who am i to judge what’s weird”
Hawkeye the cooler: i am in pain
Patriot: his last name is “Strange”
Nyoom: yes i know
Patriot: so why did billy call him mr doctor strange
Nyoom: because thats his name
Antionette: kate
Hawkeye the cooler: Im pretending i cant see it
Teddy bear [Teddy]: oh i get it
Patriot: thank god at least one of you does
Teddy bear: his first name is “doctor” and his last name is “strange” so his name with a title is mr doctor strange. Because humans have two names. Right. And the “mr” is a sign of respect?
Nyoom: yeah exactly
Patriot: NO
Nyoom: mr isn’t a sign of respect?
Patriot: NO. i mean yeah kind of
Patriot: you know what nevermind
Hawkeye the cooler: it’s okay eli you tried
Antionette: i am telepathically patting you on your strangely bald head
Patriot: thanks cassie
And of course, the spiderman saga

FROZEN 3 and FROZEN 4 are both in development, and I can't wait!
The news sounded odd to me initially, I didn't expect anything like this from Disney Animation, but it became immediatly appealing the moment I realized the GREAT potential a double feature could have for the franchise, most importantly when Bob Iger specified “Jenn Lee, who created Frozen, the original Frozen, and Frozen 2 is hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but actually two stories.”, which would mean:
More time to enstablish new elements, new characters, time to explore new lore and new places without the risk to rush everything;
Tumblr media
A bigger story that can help flesh out our protagonists in their new roles, their new wants and changes they might face, considering how the F2 ending brought many new possibilities;
Tumblr media
A narrative context where the new crysis (whatever it might be) could be explored even better, also allowing to maintain things in a complex prespective just as the Frozen movies like to do, where the matter of "good and evil" not at the center, and things are first of all deeply personal for the characters
Tumblr media
It seems to me that Jennifer Lee always wanted to delve deeper into things, this is why the Broadway Musical was a perfect opportunity for her and the Lopez to expand the characters and flesh out things in the story, also adding new elements that would've been useful for F2.
And when they worked on Frozen 2, they built it as the "second part" of the story, reconnecting almost all the aspects of the sequel to the 1st movie, and the story was clearly meant to be BIGGER and longer compared to what we ended up having because of numerous issues and rewrites. J. Lee and C. Buck didn't want to introduce something that would feel just as "a new adventure", and more about the actual characters evolving, see what they left unresolved, breaking the "Happy ending" scenario of F1, which also led them to NOT give the new human characters (Mattias and the Northuldra) the same relevance given to Spirits of Nature, in order to remain focused on Elsa, Anna and the rest of the gang.
Tumblr media
Now, Lee will most likely not direct or write these two new movies, but she is still directly involved, because it's both part of her job as CCO of Walt Disney Animation Studio and because Frozen is her (and Chris Buck) baby. It will be curious to discover with what idea Marc Smith came out with, but the fact he worked on the 1st Frozen as a storyboard artist and the became Director of Story for Frozen 2 says a lot about him and why Lee trusts him so much, and I'm sure they will follow the approach used with the 2nd movie and carry it on with 3 and 4. Numerous sagas used the two-parter approach, like the books adaptations of Harry Potter, Twilight and Hunger Games series, or more "original cases" like Pirates of the Carribeans or what we are getting now with the animated Spiderverse movies (Across and Beyond). But I think the best similarity (and probably what led to this ambitious choice) is with Avengers Infinity War/Endgame, where the BIG FINALE gets developed in two movies.

I joke a lot about it now but I wish there was a way for fandom history to be remembered. Not the drama or just a list of the popular tropes, but the intercultural stuff. The things you only get from being there, or close enough to it.
Like how in 2016, irondad basically started as a fandom by killing May Parker off and instituting Tony as thee dad of all time, ranging anything from best dad ever or struggling but either way— Tony even after Civil War immediately sees Peter like a son. Or how by 2017, Peter as an avenger or going on a field trip was the most popular thing for him to do, with Flash Thompson being an abusive jerk that beats Peter so much, he was scared of him (and Tony would come to save the day). Like how by 2018, fanon irondad took precedence of over anything, not just the movies but even the comic book history— skip westcott, a character from a PSA comic from the 80s, becoming such a known and understood character that he’s part of the “Spider-Man lore”, but only in so much as it gave Tony a platform to save the day, not Peter. How by 2019, in the scenarios and rewrites of infinity war had taken on a different lens into thousands of fix its after Endgame, ranging from making Peter jealous of Morgan or writing out that little girl entirely. Like how in 2020, quarantine and writing in Peter at marches was an active trend, to the point of cosmic irony.
It’s not just knowing the tropes, but knowing the vibes. The history. The things that now, don’t make any sense or just have different assumptions for what the reader believes to be true. I reread a fic recently and was so struck by the notes which poked fun at the trend of killing May off when you could just coparent, not just because it was funny (and a little disconcerting) to see all the defensiveness of irondad writers in the comments who made their names by killing May/writing the kind of codependency they passed off as found family— but also how it both fit into and deflected against established fanon, not canon. Of course Tony is going to speak Italian and be an active, engaged presence in Peter’s life that not only has lab time, but has dinner with him once a week and asks about his friends. Of course May is a nurse that works long hours that keeps her busy and away— because Tony can “babysit” a 15-year old New Yorker. Of course Peter is a teenager but acts more like a 12-year old in temperament and excitability, speaking like a walking meme.
This particular fic was so radical imo not just because May is 1) alive, 2) active in the plot, and 3) isn’t abusive or dating someone abusive, but because it ALSO presumed things as normal that weren’t common— like Rhodey being Tony’s actual best friend, Pepper being Tony’s fiancé who actually showed up, Peter being friends with MJ and Ned, having a crush on MJ— all things that still aren’t terribly popular in that subset of fandom, but now come with more canonical evidence that supersede the fanon.
I’m not sure if there’s a point to this, maybe this is a thought that should’ve stayed in the drafts. But this kind of fandom lore™️ is too good to let go.
Especially since I know irondad isn’t the only kind of fandom with a shared history that’s changed over time.

Loki’s not Altez, he’s the God of Stories.
For all of the people arguing that Loki isn’t actually the god of stories and that he’s more similar to Altez, the multiversal custodian who holds everything together and looks over existence from the outside in the comics….. Loki creating Yggdrasil/taking the throne isn’t what made him GOS. He became GOS at the end of episode 5 and the reasoning is actually based on mcu time travel rules.
In the mcu, anytime someone goes back and changes anything in the past, it doesn’t actually affect that timeline- instead, it creates a new branched reality. The only reason the avengers were able to circumvent this in endgame was because He Who Remains wrote their tampering into the sacred timeline, so it was always supposed to happen. This is true even after the multiverse is set free- in fact, that’s what the multiverse is (a bunch of different choices all spawning new realities that creates an infinitely expanding tree of possibilities).
Loki is the only exception to this. He can timeslip back and alter events on a specific timeline and actually change the future of that universe, without creating a branch reality. He did this when he was gathering his friends in 2x5, when he was trying to save the loom, and when he tried to fix things at the citadel. He doesn’t just create new timelines, he can actually rewrite timelines. In other words, he can rewrite stories.

How would you theoretically rewrite Infinity War and Endgame to give Gamora and Black Widow the happy endings they deserved, while still keeping most of the story beats the same?
The easiest way would be to just not have the soul stone require a human sacrifice - it would "rob" us of Infinity War's biggest moment of pretending Thanos loves anyone, but I honestly think that's fine given that, ultimately, Thanos proves he doesn't really care about anyone or anything except being right. Why not show him to be a hypocrite from the getgo? Why bother pretending he's "got a point" and "has good intentions" when ultimately he's just an egotist who talks himself up a lot?
Maybe he goes to sacrifice Gamora and the guardians "stop" him, rescuing her and proving they are worthy of it, at which point Thanos just steals it from them - it gets the same emotional beat you get in the movie, where Peter's love for Gamora accidentally leads to him letting Thanos win, but without ending Gamora's arc in "and then her abuser killed her, the end!"
And then you could still sacrifice an Avenger in the next movie - "an act of true heroism" and all - but just have it be Hawkeye, the Avenger that they spent this entire film series repeatedly telling us that actually we should give a shit about him and think he's cool despite loads of evidence to the contrary. Hawkeye was always kind of the useless one, prune him, no one's gonna cry about it.

Marvel vs Miraculous: How to Do a Final Battle
I finally put my finger on the heart of the issue with Miraculous Season Five's final. To explain this, I'm going to talk about another superhero franchise that actually did the final fight well: Avengers Endgame. While that movie has a lot of issues, the final fight wasn't one of them and I'm picking it for one reason: the big, climactic moment does not go to the whole team. It goes to one character, but I've never seen a fan complain that the other characters were left out.
The trick is that Endgame has the excitement and the tension build and build as the final fight goes on. It starts with a massive hype moment (portals opening) and goes through lots of narratively satisfying moments like Captain Marvel punching out a spaceship or Thor and Captain America trading Mjölnir back and forth. Every major, living character gets an "Oh shit!" moment to drive their fans wild.
Miraculous tried to do the same thing and completely failed.
Because Gabriel still had all of the miraculous, no one had powers, so there was no one to show up and make the audience get excited other than characters from the specials and team Luka, which was literally introduced during the final!
None of these characters feel like a big payoff for five seasons worth of buildup because they weren't part of the seasons! Some viewers might not even know who Fei and the Americans were! They're from specials that you have to specifically know about and search out. If I pull up Miraculous on Disney+, they're not included in the episode list. They're separate entries.
These characters also don't actually help Marinette. They just save the resistance, who really aren't important to the story. You can ignore all of those fight scenes and the big fight between Marinette and Gabriel wouldn't change in the slightest because there's nothing Marinette needs from them. The closest we get is Plagg getting the ring to Marinette, but that's Plagg's solo mission that no one else helps with. He just lucks into the knowledge of where Marinette is.
You may be starting to see where I'm going with this.
Here's my thought: Luka knows Adrien's identity. Why not let that have a payoff? While we're at it, why not have all these random characters work together so that randos are useful to the characters we know and love?
Here's the rewrite with no major changes to the payoff and no changes to the rest of canon:
Adrien breaks out of his prison in London and gets the ring to Paris, but he's been plagued by nightmares the entire way. He's barely holding it together and he knows that he's in no shape to help his Lady. But wait! Luka's in Paris. He sees Chat Noir flying in and meets him while the others hold off the bots. Adrien detransforms and hands the ring off. Luka promises to take it from there.
Luka rejoins his team (who didn't see Adrien) and starts fighting through the streets of Paris, knowing that they have to find Ladybug, but they've got no idea where she is.
Enter: the resistance!
Nino, Alya, and team are also fighting their way through Paris and they run into Team Luka, who tells them that Chat Noir is down and needs them to get the ring to Ladybug, but no one knows where she is. They get bogged down by goons. Luka and co are trying to protect the resistance, but it's not working. They're going to lose.
Enter: Dragon Fei!
Only she's not here for a solo mission. She can't take the ring and fight after all. Someone needs to become a dragon rider. Luka is torn about leaving his sister behind, so Alya tells him to stay and she'll be the ring bearer!
Dragon Fei and Alya take to the skies and the moment Plagg saw repeats, letting them know where Ladybug is. But how do they get inside and find her?
Oh look, it's the Americans with magic door man! Fei lands and joins the Americans in fighting while Alya talks to door dude. He opens a portal, but the place is full of enemies and they can't fight their way through, so Plagg takes the ring from here and flies off to find Ladybug. He finds her, we get Bugnoir, and the final proceeds as originally planned.
We still get the disappointing ending with Gabriel winning, but at least the lead up was epic, no identities were revealed, and Adrien got to do something meaningful.
Thoughts?

(second post) extensively noted im RLY unclear on a lot of endgame gintama. i am disabled and it makes me a bad reader and im irritable abt it and i dont really want anyone to explain things to me on this Specific post lol. im just thinking things thru to myself.
hard to hold a lot of sugi's gayass trauma mental processes in my head all at once. the elisions between destroying the world [math symbol] destroying gintoki who stands in the way of that as a universal constant [math symbol] destroying the political foundations of the country from the inside using connections with the same forces (this guy does NOT understand the larger background plots of gintama and isnt sure if this is correct ->) that in part got his teacher killed and set this whole thing off* [math symbol] destroying himself.
(*side note i think there was a real missed opportunity to bookend all of sugi's political maneuvering which was treated by the plot as. SIGNIFICANT. and extensive. and effective. and one step ahead of all the chars we see pre-utsuro reveals. by revisiting it after the utsuro reveals and coming down on his schemes as either ultimately fruitless and really just getting him in over his head bc he didnt understand the real forces at play OR still effective bc sorachi wanted to retroactively say he and katsura understood all the shadowy background shenanigans. but zura kind of takes over the role of political maneuverer. but worse and stupider.)
(not a WHOLE lot under the cut its just getting unwieldy as a post.)
like if he just wants to kill himself why does he have to take the world down with him (katsura planning a beautiful death seppuku line). if he's doing this out of love for gintoki (canon fact.) why does gintoki need to be broken.
but if i stop trying to untangle what materially he means by all of that then i can understand sugi's actions post-execution as kind of in parallel with my understanding of oboro and utsuro's, which is to say, they are acting on behalf of what they think are universal laws of nature both because they believe in them and also to push the world to the breaking point to test their immutability and prove their fatalistic worldviews right or wrong. [with gintoki as the main tool to do so.]
sugi's inability to reconcile gintoki's decision to save them over sensei bc he cant understand how he'd possibly deserve it + resents gintoki for going against their understood mutual sensei as number one priority + grieves for gintoki having to bear that cross. um. turns into the desire to. destroy the world that made gintoki cry -> gintoki is an unshakeable barrier of protection in front of that world -> prove that the world sucks and isnt worth protecting by making it into sugi's own most pessimistic conceptions of it from childhood that shouyou had started to prove him wrong about -> push gintoki to a point where he will realize that he chose wrong and sugi was meant to die instead
and in parallel. avenge the death of the man who had shown him a better path in life -> throw away the life that man had sacrificed himself to protect -> um if i go down this path i just start rewriting reductionisms' proofs on seppuku and bushido again. waves hand. take the contradictory tragedy as laid out.
like utsuro trying the open mind+open heart gambit for one life and then immediately giving up. and oboro. well oboro is harder to unpack and summarize for me. but he serves utsuro's goals in service of his own goal of. proving rebellion like he and shouyou tried is futile? takes it upon himself to destroy shouyou's legacy to prove it's okay that shouyou-the-concept died. idk a lot of layers going on in oboro its not important to focus on here.
the. making a half-step of progress into a better world that you're having to pioneer and imagine into existence. and then, when u fail under the world's pushback, deciding to undo all that progress with your own hands. and one guy says no, it's still possible, and im going to do it. and you're like. what if i made it as hard as possible so that if u succeed despite that u realize my dearest hopes with IRREFUTABLE proof so that i dont have to face how scary it is to try without knowing if its even possible.
WHIIIIIIIICH. i find all of that incredibly sexy on all of their parts. i enjoy it a lot i like it when humans act out of irrepressible existential fear bc fuck man. living is scary. thats basically the backbone of every gintama antagonist and gintoki [who carries on shouyou's desire to fight and win against his own nature, and thus is himself an antagonist].
whiiiiiiiiiiich. makes it so interesting that these three specifically. other than bansai lol. are the ONLY!!!!!! real casualties of the story conclusion. that gintoki DOES carry thru and realize all their hopes of the world for them by beating them as obstacles. AND they dont get to live and see the fruits of it. but im not prepared to unpack what that means narratively at this point in time.

All right, fellow MCU fans
So, after seeing the Marvels today, it got me thinking. Now, you probably don't know who I am. But I do happen to be a writer. Not a very good one mind you (several people would say otherwise, but shush, give me my self-loathing) Phase 4 (and the current parts of 5) is not that great. So I want to rewrite the Multiverse Saga. Yes. The entire thing. Even though it's not finished.
Very long blocks of text below. It's really the only thing that keeps me organized. Please read it though if you are interested. It'll be split up into sections, for somewhat easy perusal.
Now, I know this is an ambitious project, and one not done. I am no stranger to things like this, see my own game/show I'm making. (This is the only time I'm going to mention it. But I am pretty proud of it) So, for my very small amount of sanity, I'm stopping it at The Marvels, and Loki season 2 (Oops, still not finished with it yet). And I wanted to ask people what they thought was lackluster, or mediocre. Not the Marvel I and many other people grew up on. I do understand that it was flawed before, but when I recently rewatched most of them, I found that my childhood love for them had blossomed into something new. I was 6 when the first Avengers came out. I learned how to shoot a bow because of Hawkeye in that movie. And I think it deserves better, especially after watching the Marvels.
Now, this means everything after Endgame. So from Black Widow to The Marvels in terms of the movies, and the Disney+ series from Wandavision to Loki Season 2. I have a feeling it's going to take me a second to get through the remaining 5 episodes of Loki S2. My family wants to watch it with me, and they're all decently busy... Anyways, that's 10 movies, and 9 series. Although I don't accept Secret Invasion. Like at all. Anyways.
I have yet to decide what I'm going to publish this on. Probably A03, just because that's easiest for me. And I can organize much easier. Do let me know what you think.
So, before I get into the problems I've identified, feel free to stop here, and reblog or ask me your problems with the aforementioned shows and movies. I'm talking writing or character problems, as we've seen in the series. I am a fan of the comics, but you can divert from that, or stick to them.
Oh, and if you say something like "Make it more queer", I am a raging bisexual enby. I will already be making it queer as fuck, and can be convinced to ship pretty much anyone, if I can get a good reasoning behind it. Minors should be shipped with only minors. That's one of my few rules, if you send anything to me. So yeah, I'm doing genderfluid Loki.
Thoughts on everything:
This is just here so that I don't get a ton of repeats. I'll go movies first, then the TV shows.
Black Widow (2021) - Honestly, this is too late of a movie. Natasha deserved this before Endgame or Infinity War came out. But release dates aside, Taskmaster needs more screentime, and a chance to show how menacing they are. Natasha also needs more time with her family, and the parents need to be fleshed out a bit more. Belova is far too smart to be tricked by the lady in the post-credit scene.
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings (2021) - I don't have any major problems with this movie. The Great Protector, or the dragon, and the supernatural creature, I think he's called Dweller In Darkness, kinda felt a little blank, and the Dweller shouldn't have died, only been pushed back. And I don't like Katy that much. Trevor is much better comedic relief in my opinion.
Eternals (2021) - Oh boy, where do we start with this one? You know it's bad if I can't remember any of the main characters names besides Ikarus. And that's because I was laughing my ass off at him throwing himself into the sun. There was also the Celestial I think it was? Anyways that thing broke islands up, and then just became a massive statue, and like no one mentions it? I don't remember much else about this movie, even after having watched it like 3 times. Oh, and the Ebony Blade was shown off. I like that if they can do something fun with that.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) - Dr. Strange feels a little shoe-horned in. The whole sanctum being overtaken by snow was pretty clever, but Strange being a father figure to Peter is not super well established. Could be fixed with a couple of rewrites. Or Strange and Stark being together. Peter is a dumbass, and the reason for him starting the whole plot... is so dumb. I understand, teenagers can be stupid, hell, I go to public high school, but Peter's shown he's a lot smarter than this. But I do like the crossover (Dafoe as Green Goblin my beloved) and the fact that the other Spidermen get to say goodbye in one last movie. Anyways, Ned's wizard connections need to be elaborated on as well.
Doctor Strange: Multiverse Of Madness (2022) - Alright, getting my biggest problem out of the way first. Wanda's corruption arc should have been shown. It should have been developed through the movie, and Wanda should have been with Strange and America. She can still be evil, and die after she realizes her actions, but this basically destroys the point of Wandavision. She was willing to say goodbye. Wanda has been a favorite of mine for years, and I read her comics religiously as a child. We need to see the power of the Scarlet Witch. What it did without Wanda. Her "No More Mutants" line sent chills down my spine the first time I read it. Sam Raimi directed this movie. Strange and Wanda should have had more horrific shit. And that one Strange with 3 eyes should have been the one from What If. We need horror in this. America also needs to be more fleshed out. I do love her, but we get like one scene of her being traumatized of basically growing up nowhere. Her moms get to stay though. I'm just going to ignore the last post-credit scene, because... that's setting something up I'm not sure of.
Thor: Love & Thunder (2022) - First up, Gorr has a great setup. He needed more screentime though. We need to see more of his god killing. They should rightfully be shitting their pants over this man. Thor leaving to save Sif was a good move, but that joke ruined the tension. She should have died there, proof of the god killer. Jane Foster is perfectly fine, and her arc is a lovely send-off. I would have loved some more stuff about the kids, especially Heimdall's. I don't even remember his name. He should have been shown doing something in Jane's return to Asgard, something that showed off his parentage. The meeting of the gods is a great scene, but there should have been people who spoke up, and then promptly getting thrown out, or even getting killed. Even more of a reason for Thor and crew to convince him. I think everything else is pretty good. Also Valkyrie is perfect in this movie. Bi queen. And her Loki knives are lovely.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) - I actually think this one just needs a couple of little tweaks. I understand why they couldn't have T'Challa show up in the spirit world, and Killmonger was great, but I still think something between the siblings would be good. Fuck, I love the funeral scene. It was a lovely sendoff to both T'Challa, and Chadwick. Namor seems a little rash though. Might just be the comics leaking through on that matter but I do like the Mayan inspirations in the movie!
Antman: Quantumania (2023) - I'm not really sure on this movie. I don't like Janet in this movie. She feels too secretive. She could have told them plenty, even lied that Kang had gone home. He'd gotten out somehow. Kang didn't seem scared enough of the others, but that might just be me thinking of that. Oh, and MODOK sucked. He shouldn't be a joke. But Darren could have done something else, because he is in there.
Guardians of The Galaxy V.3 (2023) - Perfection in every way. I'm not changing anything unless it involves getting everything I'm incorporating in. And the Christmas Special is also great.
The Marvels (2023) - Spoilers! Kamala needed more screentime, she just generally felt disconnected from the plot besides her bangle. And I also wanted a more menacing villain. That's been the problem with them recently. They don't make me think that they could actually beat them. I like everything else though. Flerkins were great as usual. I love these stupid creatures so much. That one scene was beautiful.
Now to the shows! These are going to be so much shorter.
Wandavision (2021) - I think this is good. No notes.
Loki S1 (2021) - Good, besides the Sylvie/Loki romance. They are siblings. I'm not sure if there's anything else that I really had a problem with. It's been a moment. Which is a shame. I love Loki (Also bi confirmation! I love it!)
The Falcon & Winter Soldier (2021) - I also think this is good, besides maybe having some problems with the villain. Bromance all the way.
What If...? (2021) - Also pretty good. Little self-contained story. I like the zombies.
Hawkeye (2021) - I also think this one's pretty well written. Macaroni is constantly referenced in my house. Lucky is also a pretty boy.
Moonknight (2022) - Honestly, god tier. Anyways, no one mentioned the stars literally turning in Egypt. But maybe it was just the people thinking that they were drunk as shit and seeing something.
Ms. Marvel (2022) - Second favorite being Moonknight. I also don't remember anything glaringly wrong.
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (2022) - Besides the tone of the show being inconsistent as shit, I think this show should have dove into some of the topics it brought up more. It just seemed a little surface level. Maybe a WWDITS style mockumentary would work better.
Secret Invasion (2023) - THIS ENTIRE SHOW SUCKS ASS. THIS WHOLE THING WAS DONE SO BADLY. I am not taking anything from this show
Loki S2 (2023) - Too distracted by another season 2 coming out, so I have yet to finish. I have heard it's good though. I've seen the first episode, and it's going pretty good so far.
Well, you made it to the bottom! Yay!
...This took me an hour to write. I did get the doc set up. And got a bit of an outline set up.

SLATE / MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Banner by MrSteiners on DeviantArt
The slate for the planned canon rewrite, expansion and in-depth exploration of the ENTIRE Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This includes links to all the projects I've worked on thus far related to the MCU rewrite, as well as lists of what I'm planning on writing next (although, please note that this is always subject to change). And this goes beyond what already exists, as I plan to make high quality novel-length and novella-length fics diving into every corner I can of this big, beautiful universe — that are NOT always based on the movies.
INTRODUCTION
If you want to see the explanation for what and why this is, please check out this seperate post
There are four planned phases for this project:
ASSEMBLE
REASSEMBLE
INFINITY
ENDGAME
The first and second phases are the only ones where the fics in them have additional descriptions. The other phases have only their titles revealed. (See the series description for a rundown of all the major characters that will appear throughout these fics.)
1. All works that currently exist have links to them. If it does not have a link, I have not started writing it — and despite the order that everything is in, I might be skipping some works and circling back to them later for various reasons (mainly when it makes sense, I’m not going to write an Avengers fic until everything else beforehand is done).
2. This is the recommended order, but — unless it's specified — you can probably read any of them without spoiling any other work. There may be references or easter eggs, but unless it's substantial I will not list something as 'required reading' for another fic: start wherever YOU want.
3. If the work isn't bolded, it will most likely end up being the length of a novella (10-20k words). If it is in UPPERCASE, I expect it to be very, very VERY long. This is just an estimate however, and I just don’t know how far these things will go until I start writing it.
4. Lastly, EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Everything that follows is extremely vague and not in a strict order. I have some ideas for what this will become, but… I’ll be far too busy focusing on everything that comes before it to consider it in greater detail. Once phase 3 is done, I will have a better idea of where this will go: and let’s face it, it’s gonna take a while for me to even get there. Take everything here with a grain of salt.

If everything here is subject to change, these works REALLY are: I don't know if any of them will happen.
Betty Ross
Spiderverse
Civil War 2
Fury + Coulson
You may have also noted that neither of the Defenders series, Agents of SHIELD or Agent Carter (the ABC series) are present in any capacity. I have no intention to bring them in as I have never watched them and I don't know enough about them to include them. I am considering bringing in a character from AoS, but if it happens their role is very likely to be minor. I posit an idea of bringing these particular franchises in at some point... but this is very unlikely to happen.
Thank you for reading! Again, if you have any questions about it please ask me anything and I'll do my best to respond. In the meantime, feel free to follow me if you want to stay updated on this project.

🌟 for The Horizon Line
Oooh, let's do one of the Endgame prologue flashbacks from Chapter 6! Mostly because this is a scene I really like and it's not one that people tend to comment on.
Then
This is one of the chapters that has an alternating "then-now" structure, and it's the first of two (the other one is 16) to flip very quickly. This is the second of three flashback sequences in Horizon that come directly out of the Endgame prologue (a.k.a. the 2018 part of Endgame, not the 2023 part). I do a fair amount of rewriting canon scenes; it's always an interesting experience. I get to know that scene really well and I tend to find out how difficult it is to translate between mediums.
“Oh no,” Rocket said.
Steve stared down at the gauntlet with his expression gone completely blank – not even horror, just a kind of flat incomprehension that any of this was happening. Natasha heard the faint sound she made only after she had made it, a faint stunned gasp like a wounded animal, and even then was wondering who it had come from before she felt the ache in her own throat.
Steve's behavior in this scene and throughout Endgame is really interesting, because especially in the 2018 scenes he's very blank. And Chris Evans is generally pretty expression (so much of Steve's excellent Avengers characterization is carried out through microexpressions rather than what Steve's actually saying), so his blankness in this sequence is interesting. One of the things I have to do when I'm rewriting a canon sequence is basically add in the character interpretation that may or may not be there onscreen.
The Infinity Stones weren’t there. Nothing was there, just empty, blackened hollows where Natasha still remembered the Stones gleaming the last time she had seen Thanos, energy running in multi-colored rivulets up his arm before he had snapped his fingers.
“Where are they?” Steve said, his voice so toneless that it was nearly a statement
The only response was a low groan, until Carol tightened her grip on Thanos’s throat and hissed, “Answer the question.”
“The universe required correction,” Thanos said, his voice coming out in harsh gasps of pain. “After that, the Stones served no purpose beyond temptation.”
“You murdered trillions!” Bruce said, and shoved him with both hands. The Hulkbuster’s strength threw him backwards, making Carol lose her grip and knocking Rhodey out of the way.
Thanos pushed himself up onto his remaining elbow and said, “You should be grateful.”
This sequence is directly out of canon, dialogue and action. Also Thanos's dialogue is a nightmare to write, especially pulling it straight from canon -- I noticed this when I was writing the Thor flashbacks in Morning too. He doesn't have a very natural cadence, and it makes hard to put into prose vs. onscreen.
Bruce lunged for him again, but Loki’s hand closed on his wrist, his heels digging divots into the floor as Bruce strained against him; the Hulkbuster might be able to beat the crap out of the Hulk, but apparently couldn’t move an Asgardian who had decided not to be moved. Loki released Bruce a moment later and put the blade of his polearm under Thanos’s chin. “Be careful,” he said softly, “not to speak of gratitude again.”
The scene diverges here with Loki's involvement. In canon Bruce keeps beating up Thanos until Natasha asks about the Stones.
Note that the Hulkbuster is not at the Hulk's strength, at least going up against an Asgardian.
Natasha walked around Bruce’s massive form so that she could see Thanos, resisting the urge to start screaming and not stop, but there was an unfamiliar tremor in her voice as she forced herself to say, “Where are the Stones?”
Pulling character interpretations from what's onscreen again; Nat's less blank than Steve is. She's also trembling in that scene, which is a detail I like.
“Gone,” Thanos said. From his expression, he had no idea who she was. “Reduced to atoms.”
Does Thanos actually know who Natasha is? Open question, never confirmed one way or another by canon; canon really only identifies that he knows who Tony is and not any of the other Avengers.
“You used them two days ago!” Bruce said.
“I used the Stones to destroy the Stones,” Thanos said, and gestured at the damaged gauntlet, ignoring the way the razor-sharp blade of Loki’s polearm opened a thin line on the underside of his chin. “It nearly killed me, but the work is done. It always will be. I am –”
“If you say ‘inevitable,’ I will cleave your head from your body,” Loki said.
Canon divergence: in canon Thanos finishes his line, here Loki interrupts him.
“We have to tear this place apart,” Rhodey said, his voice shaking. “He has to be lying –”
“My father is many things,” Nebula said. “A liar is not one of them.” She flicked a look at Loki anyway, as if asking for confirmation, and he gave her the tiniest headshake in response. God of lies, Natasha remembered, very distantly; maybe it meant something other than just another title. It didn’t seem very important right now.
Loki and Nebula have an interesting relationship and this hints at some of the places it's been in the past. Loki, walking lie detector.
Thanos looked from one of them to the other, as if seeing Loki for the first time, and made an expression that wasn’t quite a smile. “My daughter,” he said to Nebula, and then, to Loki, “My son.”
Divergence. In canon he says, "Ah. Thank you, daughter. Perhaps I treated you too harshly." Thor kills Thanos immediately after his addresses Nebula in canon.
“My parents were Odin and Frigga of Asgard,” Loki said, soft and dangerous. “I’d think you’d remember it, since a son of Odin was what you decided you wanted more than another child of yours.”
Loki, who just lost his entire family, is having none of this. I don't think all of Loki's backstory with Thanos has come out in any of my Yonderverse writing, but it is revealed in Morning, and I use the same backstory between universes. Loki started as part of the Black Order, one of the Children of Thanos, during a period of time when he wasn't using his own name (Nebula uses his Black Order name in the Horizon 3 flashback), but when Thanos found out that he was Odin's son he decided Loki was more useful as a way to get into the Nine Realms to get the Tesseract (with the later intention of getting the Reality Stone).
This time Thanos’s expression was definitely a smile. “And where did it bring you? Back to me.”
This line is from 2014 Thanos in Endgame, not 2023 Thanos. 2014 Thanos uses it in Yonder 4, too. (I do think Thanos's dialogue is pretty overwrought, but sometimes it works.)
“To kill you,” Loki said bluntly. “I don’t care about the Stones. I don’t have anyone to bring back. You made certain of that before the culling.”
Loki straight-up is just here for the murder because as far as he knows all of Asgard is dead. As is revealed later on in the scene, he has no way of knowing that any of the Asgardians made it off the Statesman and has been operating on the assumption they didn't. He also doesn't really care about the Snap at all because he doesn't have anyone left to lose.
“Wait – wait, Loki, hang on –” Bruce said hastily. “You don’t know that he’s not lying, the Stones have to be here –”
“No,” Nebula said. “All my life, my father has only ever wanted one thing, and having achieved it –”
“They are beyond the reach of any living thing,” Thanos said. “As they should be. The work is done,” he repeated. “And it cannot be undone.”
This is added dialogue for this scene and isn't from the original canon scene, since Thanos is dead by this point in the canonical scene.
“Loki, get out of the way,” Steve said abruptly.
They all turned to look at him, startled; even Loki’s gaze flickered away from Thanos for an instant. Steve stripped his shields off and dropped them to the floor with a clatter as he took a step forwards, his fists clenched.
This is actually my favorite part of this sequence -- Steve planning to beat Thanos to death with his bare hands. I give Steve a lot more sharp edges than I think most writers do and I am here for his violent tendencies, which are pretty consistent throughout the MCU; it's really just Endgame where it's not there, because he's so muted throughout the film. (I read Endgame!Steve as being very, very depressed, though functional, which I think I've talked about somewhere.) It was important to me that it was his bare hands too, which is why he takes off the Wakandan shields for it.
Loki raised his free hand, green-gold glimmering on his fingertips. “No,” he said. “Your right to vengeance is not greater than mine.”
Loki about to get into it with Steve over who has a better right to beat Thanos to death.
“You should be grateful to me, Asgardian,” Thanos said. “Is this not what you wanted? Is kingship not what you claimed when the Chitauri’s claws were at your throat? The rightful king of Asgard, king once more?”
Hints of Loki's backstory with Thanos and the Chitauri here, touching on whatever happened immediately prior to The Avengers and calling back to Loki's conversations with The Other there.
Loki looked back at him and put his head a little to the side, his teeth showing like a wolf’s. “You murdered my brother,” he said. “You slaughtered my people. You scoured Asgard root and stem from the branches of the World Tree and you speak to me of kingship? King of ashes and atoms, shattered bone and spilled blood, spread out across the stars where you hunted us? I would kill you for Thor alone, but the blood-debt you owe my people can never be paid in full.”
"Ashes and atoms" is a callback to what Loki says during the coronation sequence in Chapter 1: "Asgard is ashes and atoms."
“I took only what I was owed,” Thanos said. “You should never have tried to keep the Tesseract from me.”
“I owed you nothing then and I owe you nothing now,” Loki said, “save a death that will be far quicker than those you gave my brother and my people. And when I’m done, may the spirits of all Asgard stand forth to rip you to shreds on your passage through the great void of Ginnungagap.”
Yonderverse Loki gets very formal and traditional about Asgard in a way that most of my other Lokis don't, because his whole thing is that there was literally nothing left, and he has to be all of Asgard and the Asgardian royal family. Without him the Asgardians likely wouldn't have survived as Asgardians and he's extremely cognizant of that in a way that Thor isn't in the main line canon -- probably because Thor has never really had to think very hard about his own identity and what's important to him as an Asgardian, and Loki has. Thor doesn't have to decide whether or not to be an Asgardian and Loki does.
"I owed you nothing then and I owe you nothing now" is an echo of something Loki says to Proxima Midnight in Yonder 5: "I owe the Chitauri nothing and I owe you less."
“‘All’ Asgard?” Thanos echoed him, and smiled, the scarring on the left side of his face making the expression even more dreadful than it might have been normally. “I destroyed only those who came between me and what was rightfully mine. I am not unkind, my son. Those that fled rather than fight a losing battle, I allowed to escape.”
Until now Loki didn't know that the other Asgardians had survived. Endgame never addresses how Thor finds out or what his reaction is, but it's pretty vital for how Yonderverse Loki is, so it has to be on the page.
Loki’s eyes went huge.
“Oh, god, they’re alive,” Bruce said, sounding stunned. “Oh, god – the Asgardians in the escape pods – the Valkyrie and all the others, all the kids –”
Bruce didn't know either, of course -- remember that he was on the Statesman too.
Loki dropped his polearm and lunged forward, twisting his fists in the front of the Titan’s shirt. “Where are they?” he shouted. “Where are my people?”
First sign that Loki might have something to live for other than vengeance because at this point he really didn't believe that he did.
This sequence is interspersed with the Atlanta operation in the present day -- the last operation the Avengers did as a team and the first operation they're doing as a team post-Snap. I actually do write these as they appear in the chapter, which is to say that I alternate between writing the flashback sequence and the present-day sequence, rather than writing all of one and all of the other and then stitching them together. For me, this makes the transitions between past and present really snappy and lets them flow thematically from one to the other -- the next scene after this is Natasha going after what she believes is Clint (Sir Not Appearing In This Story), and reveal of the Hulk-Widow that closes out that scene leads directly into Loki's shock about the surviving Asgardians that opens the next.
One thing I struggle with in rewrites of canon scenes is that very often the ones I'm rewriting are big multi-character scenes where a lot of the characters are simply not doing anything most of the time and this is one of them. Despite being a Natasha POV scene, she really doesn't have any input past the opening, which does stand out to me on reread. She's also not doing anything in the canon scene. (And I'd bet there's a high chance that when they filmed the scene, all of the actors were not there and it's just stitched together because Endgame did a lot of that.) It's one of those places where I can either add in the character having more interaction in that scene, which I do back in the Chapter 3 flashback with Tony's arrival, because Natasha doesn't say anything in that scene in Endgame but does have dialogue in my version or just live with it and hope it doesn't show too much.

((Oh good question!
I was working on my Endgame rewrite, and I was wondering if I should leave Prof Hulk as is or rework that aspect. I mean, he snapped his fingers the first time because he could handle the gamma radiation and what not, so I was wondering if I changed Prof Hulk back to Bruce/Hulk then how would the first snap work…who would do that part? And then I wondered what you guys thought about Prof Hulk.
And before you ask, yes, Tony lives in my version.😎
But yeah, that’s why. I was working on that and then I fell down a mental rabbit hole chasing this thought.))
