Surely I am not the only person who got a little annoyed by how many times Loki did the hair flip in the first episode of S2, it's not his entire personality guys

Common character archetypes in literature
Character archetypes are universal patterns of behavior, personality traits, and motivations that are commonly found in literature, mythology, and other forms of storytelling. They are often used as a shorthand to help readers quickly understand and relate to a character's role and purpose in the story.
Here are some common character archetypes:
The Hero: The hero is a brave and noble character who goes on a quest or journey to achieve a goal or overcome a challenge. Examples of heroes include Odysseus in Homer's "The Odyssey" and Frodo in J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings."
The Villain: The villain is an evil character who opposes the hero and tries to prevent them from achieving their goal. Examples of villains include Darth Vader in "Star Wars" and Iago in Shakespeare's "Othello."
The Mentor: The mentor is a knowledgeable and seasoned figure who directs and encourages the protagonist throughout their adventure. Examples of mentors include Gandalf in "The Lord of the Rings" and Obi-Wan Kenobi in "Star Wars."
The Trickster: The trickster is a mischievous character who uses their wit and cunning to achieve their goals. Examples of tricksters include Loki in Norse mythology and Hermes in Greek mythology.
The Damsel in Distress: The damsel in distress is a female character who requires saving from a hero. Examples of damsels in distress include Princess Peach in the Mario video game series and Sleeping Beauty in the fairy tale of the same name.
The Wise Old Man/ Woman: The wise old man or woman is commonly portrayed as having immense wisdom and expertise, and often acts as a mentor or guide to the protagonist. Examples of wise old men and women include Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series and the Oracle in Greek mythology. Such archetypes have been frequently employed in literature over time to communicate universal themes and concepts about human existence.
The Innocent: The innocent is a pure and uncorrupted character who often serves as a symbol of hope and goodness. Examples of innocents include Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz" and Boo Radley in "To Kill a Mockingbird."
The Outcast: The outcast is a character who is rejected by society and often feels a sense of alienation or isolation. Examples of outcasts include Frankenstein's monster in Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" and Hester Prynne in Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter."
The Temptress: The temptress is a seductive female character who lures men into danger or temptation. Examples of temptresses include Circe in Greek mythology and the character of Delilah in the Bible.
The Scapegoat: The scapegoat is a character who is blamed for the problems or issues of others. Examples of scapegoats include Tom Robinson in "To Kill a Mockingbird" and Piggy in "Lord of the Flies."
The Rebel: The rebel is a character who challenges authority and often advocates for change. Examples of rebels include Winston Smith in George Orwell's "1984" and Holden Caulfield in J.D. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye."
The Everyman: The everyman is a relatable character who represents the average person and often serves as the protagonist in a story. Examples of everymen include Bilbo Baggins in "The Hobbit" and Winston Smith in "1984."
The Wise Fool: The wise fool is often portrayed as someone who appears to be simple-minded, foolish, or even insane, but who possesses insights and wisdom that are not immediately apparent to others. Examples of the wise fools include the protagonist in "Diary of a Madman" and Yorick in "Tristram Shandy".
The preceding list outlines the typical character archetypes found in literature. Can you determine which archetype best fits your characters?

The role of the concubine was to serve their prince without question or hesitation, to give mind and body in equal measure the second it is asked of them, and to make themselves available at a moment's notice if they are called upon. These traits of willingness, obedience, and sensuality were ones that you'd embodied perfectly for centuries as you loyally served the royal family of Asgard in the only way you could — servicing and pleasuring their youngest prince more times than you could ever hope to count over the millennia you'd known each other; earning you the title of his favourite servant, which he’d often make known whenever such things were discussed amidst the drunken whispers and seedy gossiping of royal feasts.
This favouritism was precisely why you had been the first one called upon when your dear prince had been crowned as the reigning monarch in his brother's absence (well, in truth it was more accurately described as exile but nobody wished to utter such filthy words about dear Thor). Summoned to the throne room by messenger — whose arrival had caused quite the uproar amongst your fellow private servants, which was only made worse by her insistence on you being the only one to come with her — and escorted by a dozen or so guards to meet with your new king. Though, of course, meet was more of a polite euphemism for what you’d been called upon to do, as you fully intended to help him celebrate in ways only a concubine could: with you on your knees, pleasuring him eagerly wherever and however he wished.
So that is exactly what you did.
—————
The coldness of the throne room floor seeped up through your sheer robe and chilled the skin of your calves as you knelt on it, with the only reprieve being the distracting feeling of his large slender hands in your hair and his cock sliding in and out of your mouth. He was big, to put it bluntly: long, and thick, and intimidating enough that most would choke before even wrapping their lips around the pinkish tip — a cock befitting of a god such as himself if ever there was such a thing. As pretty as a dick could be, yet so imposing that you couldn’t help but want to worship it whenever you laid eyes upon it.
And worship you did: reaching up with one hand to gently, tenderly, massage his balls whilst the other grasped at one of the strong, leather clad, thighs on either side of your head just to try and keep yourself steady and upright; running the flat of your tongue along the velvety length of his shaft, circling the pointed tip along the swollen head before taking it between your lips and lightly sucking on it — repeating the process over and over again, slowly taking more and more of him into your mouth each time as you readjusted to his size; taking him to the hilt every couple of seconds, not stopping until you could feel the leaking tip hit the back of your throat, then starting to bob your head and hollow your cheeks whilst humming softly around his cock — watching through your eyelashes as he bit down on his lower lip, furrowed his brow and let his head fall back against the ancient golden headrest behind him. He truly was a work of art; more than worthy of being called a god, and you earnestly told him as much whenever you pulled away for a sparse few moments to catch your breath.
Whispering about how 'large' and 'handsome' his cock was, repeating how 'honoured' you were to be permitted to pleasure him, and calling him 'my king', 'my lord' and 'my god' in between high pitched gasps when you felt the familiar tingling of his magic starting to worm its way between your thighs. Savouring the flavour of him as small pearls of precum slipped from his slit, eagerly swallowing all he had to give even as your legs started to sting and grow numb. Basking in every sound he made because of you — every moan and groan that he tried to muffle by biting down on his glove clad hand, every grunt that punctuated his hips bucking up into your mouth, every low whisper of praise ('just like that,') or command ('keep on going, pet,', 'don't stop until I tell you to,') that he gave to you, and that you followed without the slightest hint of hesitation in your mind or demeanour.
How very well trained.
And, too distracted by the smell of his musk and the heaviness of his length on your tongue as you took him to the hilt once again, you didn’t manage to hear the sound of footsteps approaching the throne room from behind you in time to save your, and more importantly your king’s, dignity. And Loki, completely caught up in the hot tense feeling of his approaching climax and swirling thoughts of what he’d do to you next, didn’t even realise that anyone else was near enough to catch you until it was too late. His superior senses dulled by hazy pleasure until those footsteps came to an abrupt halt and his eyes snapped open to see one of his many guards, mouth agape in shock and frozen in place as he processed exactly what he’d walked in on.
Thankfully all it took was your king yelling at him to ‘get out!’ and scolding him for not seeing that he was clearly ‘busy’ for the unfortunate young man to scurry off with his tail between his legs. Though the mood was very much so ruined after that.
You’d have to continue this somewhere more private later, your king had to do some damage control…

You know how in a previous post I talked briefly about how Mat is subversion of masculinity? Yeah that but now I’m also going to talk about how all of that and the contradicting nature of his character can all be traced back to him being Odin. Bare with me lmao.
So let’s start with the fact that Odin as a god covers a LOT of domains, and a lot of them contradict eachother. He’s a god of war and death but he’s also a god of healing and poetry. He’s a god of wisdom and knowledge but also frenzy and bloodlust. A god of royalty favored by princes and also a good of thieves and tricksters. The Allfather indeed! Odin is a god but very importantly he’s Mortal, he’s a god of wisdom because he seeks it out, he is a surprising Human god, with complex and often selfish motivations. Which is very perfect for a character like Mat. But this post isn’t just going to be me pointing out every single thing about Odin that parallels Mat because we’d be here all day and even though I can because everytime a mythological reference appears in those books and twirl my hair and kick my feet I will refrain lol
The main focus of this post is talk about one really interesting facet of Odin’s domains and myths. And that is his connection to magic, specifically the distinctly feminine magic tradition of Seihdr(and that in of itself is a whole thing that’s makes me scream and blather in reference to wheel of time). Odin stands out as a male practitioner of Seihdr, which is traditionally considered a ‘feminine’ craft. Seidhr is a type of magic related to telling and shaping the future(so no shock Odin as the ever curious god of knowledge practiced it) but according to Snorri in the Ynglinga saga the practice of Seidhr leaves the practitioner weak and helpless thus male practitioners were considered ‘ergi’ a designation for men in Norse society who were unmanly and feminine. Odin was no exception being called ‘ergi’ by Loki in Lokasenna.
This is really interesting when we view Mat’s characterization through this lens. Specifically he’s described in relation to other more traditionally masculine characters and his relationship to the one power specifically Saidar. Long before I did any research involving Seidhr and Odin I had noted to myself that Mat would’ve had an easier time channeling Saidar vs Saidine. I’ve always felt that Mat was better at embracing and submitting to power and change than he ever was at forcing it, which of course is mostly because of his adaptability and flexibility which make him such a great general in the first place. There’s a reason Mat never got a handle of the flame and the void despite both Rand and Lan trying to teach him in books 1 and 2. Mat also acts the most like the women in the series in comparison to say Rand or Perrin. jokingly I’ve mentioned how in Shadow Rising a big plot point in Rand and Elayne’s relationship is a miscommunication because Elayne was upset Rand didn’t ask her to stay when she left for Tanchico, and Mat practically has the same exact fight with Rand over Rand not asking HIM to stay when he said he was going to leave before the battle at Cairihan. I also want to point out that in the Wheel of Time, daggers and throwing knives are mainly used by women(see, Min, Faile, Berelain, Tuon) with Mat and Thom being the only men we see using throwing knives(something something the idea that subterfuge and caution are feminine traits) while swords and axes are mainly used by men or women specifically breaking gender convention such as Cha Faile and Elayne’s Queen’s Guard. interestingly spears(Mat’s other weapon of choice) is an androgynous weapon used by both men and women(this is solely because the entire Aiel culture uses spears and will fight with them), bows are also a relatively androgynous weapon in the context of WoT used pretty universally. There’s also something to be said about how the entire subplot with Tylin puts Mat in the role of the ‘pursued’ or as Mat himself puts it ‘the woman’ where Tylin takes the commanding and dominant role in their dynamic. There’s a whole different essay to be written about Mat’s romantic relationships and the vast power dynamic disparity in them and how the relationships with Tylin and Melindra primed him for the way his dynamic with Tuon works but once again that’s a different essay.
Mat’s relationship with the one power is also really interesting, because for a non-channeler he’s pretty heavily linked with magic. He’s effected by the magic inherent in the world despite for all intensive purposes being perfectly normal to start with. The Aelfinn and the Eelfin, the fact that he’s hunted by the Gholam who was created solely to assassinate channelers. Both of his sisters being born with the spark and him marrying a woman who was trained as a sul’dam(and in a prophetic vision said woman literally collaring him after we had just been introduced to the concept of a’dams). His medallion that negates channeling, the cursed dagger and him getting the first powerwrought weapon of the series in his Ashandarei. Mat’s practically rolling in magic nonsense despite wanting nothing to do with it. Not all of this was created by the one power, but he’s still very associated with it whether he wants to be or not. It’s also probably safe to say that between his sisters and being Ta’veren it’s likely he could probably learn to channel if he wanted to, of course he never would want to learn and as I established earlier I think he’d have a hard time channeling Saidine in the first place. Trying to wrestle a force of nature using brute force isn’t exactly his forte.
There’s also another essay about Mat and Elayne’s dynamic and how I think Elayne is a Freya parallel, and how that relates to Odin and Freya being the two patron gods of Seidhr- but I digress.

Seven Sentence Sunday
Lokius. From a time loop pregnancy fic that builds on Mobius noticing every time Loki slips back to the loom control room. No pregnancy mentioned in snippet.
As soon as Loki slipped into the loom control room, they felt Mobius’ eyes on them, knowing full well there’d be that little twitch on Mobius’ face as he assessed them. They were used to Mobius’ near constant observations by now, having slipped back to this point time and time again trying to fix the loom that was so far refusing to be fixed. For millennia, Mobius had honed his analyst skills. He was good at recognising things, at noticing when something was a little different, a little off, and poking at it. It was one of the traits that Loki really loved about Mobius, but when they were trying to focus on saving the universe—the multiverse—and Mobius kept coming over, trying to find out what was wrong, what was happening, why they were different, it slowed them down. It meant Loki had to keep finding ways around it, much as it broke their heart. All they wanted was Mobius by their side, to have his support in fixing this thing, but there was never enough time to explain before everything fell apart.

Marvel at the beginning of the show: So this show will be about Loki learning to love himself and not being afraid of being lonely anymore.
Also Marvel: completely ignores Loki‘s trauma and tries to make him an evil narcissist** (Mobius is not qualified to make that assessment, especially since according to the TVA, Loki was supposed to do the bad things he did) at the beginning, tries to stick him with a Thor light version of himself, and has him end up alone, where once again, very few people will know or care when he did something heroic.
I liked season 2 a lot better than season 1, but that ending was whack.
If you don’t feel like reading a long rant, feel free to skip below. If you disagree with me and want to make your own long answer, write your own post. I’m mostly here to express my opinion, not get into long debates.
**Marvel doesn’t seem to understand much at all about mental health. I wish we could get whoever wrote Moon Knight to write everything about mental health in the MCU as they handled it in a decent way for a TV show. The last guy they tried to call a narcissist (Tony Stark) literally either tried to or sacrificed himself to save the universe more than once; as did Loki and his variants. Loki was set up to fail since the beginning of the timeline; and while obviously he’s far from innocent, acting like it was all his grievances were in his head and “imagined slights” or just a function of a narcissist is a pretty awful message to send about trauma. We know for a fact there’s a shit load wrong with Asgard, and an amazing slew of double standards in the MCU. It would be a great way to explain it to say it was all part of a timeline that was meant for somethings to turn out a certain way, but I’m not sure they’ll do that. But that’s my head canon anyway, based on what we saw in the What If series. There we see that when certain events aren’t set up and happen differently, heroes can go off the trail and villains can be just fine.
They conveniently showed Loki how Odin “loves him”, but not that he literally kidnapped him and lied that his birthright “was to die”, and just basically let everybody else off the hook including people who have done worse than Loki.
I understand if they didn’t want to use another actual mental health term, but instead of “narcissist” they could’ve just gone with Loki having “severe attachment issues” or something more vague like that, but then they might’ve actually had to talk about how he got them. Because I guarantee you when the majority of people hear the term narcissist they think of the worst kind who have all the worst full blown traits on the spectrum, not of the fragile kind, who do have self-esteem issues, share a lot of traits with BPD, and are said to be more rare. They most definitely don’t think of people who would sacrifice themselves.
I personally see Loki as Borderline with some narcissistic traits (who wouldn’t have them being raised a royal in a place like Asgard). With Tony I think some of his supposedly worst traits were him trying to cover up his trauma. Sorry Natasha, but an assassin/spy who works for a shady government organization is not qualified to make a mental health assessment. Neither is Mobius.

The King of Jotunheim (Loki One Shot, Smut)

Tumblr media
King Loki was a formidable character, one of the few to refuse Odin's claim over the nine realms and live to tell the tale. Though he had a cruel upbringing, and it was wise to not speak of the great tales of Laufey in the King's presence for fear of his wrathful reaction, he ruled with intelligence and carefully calculated strategy that ensured the prosperity and security of Jotunheim's future. Loki had fiercely sought to separate himself from his father entirely following his death; only their name and titles as King linked them together.
His father had regarded him as small and weak, lacking the desired traits of their race, and had nearly given up on him entirely. Unable to produce an alternative heir, he subjected Loki to a level of training the other inhabitants of Jotunheim had not endured. It ensured he was broken down completely to be rebuilt stronger. The torturous ordeal had forced his magic to manifest itself in ways that differed from his expected control of the harsh icy landscape around them.
It had taken many years, but Laufey's view of him eventually changed from disgust to seeing him only as a tactical advantage that would ensure the success of Jotunheim's operation as an independent realm, able to deny Asgard's attempts with ease. It was not a loving or caring relationship; his father did not possess the ability. With his training complete, he had allowed his son to join his side as a prized weapon the other realms feared. This had proved a successful strategy for the remaining years of his reign. Laufey had finally succumbed to battle wounds within his crumbling palace, alone. Loki refused to sit by his side in his final hours, and his last breath was drawn in an empty room behind locked doors.
Now inhabiting his rightful place on the throne of Jotunheim, the young King had turned his focus from battle to better the living situation of his people. Towering walls were erected to alleviate some of the relentless icy wind at failed to cease. The dilapidated ruins of the palace and its surrounding temples were torn down and buried, replaced with homes that provided more suitable shelter from the environment. He could never align with his father's thought of suffering being the ultimate demonstration of strength, nor his insistence on dominating the realms he determined as weaker.
Schools and buildings of higher education were erected, and the finishing touch on the regeneration of the realm was the modestly-sized palace, completed only once the other work had taken place. It had been a controversial choice, but the people were slowly won by his unusual kindness towards them, and they in turn found a more gentle nature. Their natural advantage in brute force and ice magic would always prove advantageous in war, should they be targeted, but children were no longer forced into training at an early age; it was their choice to enlist once their studies were complete.
A new focus on education and expanding the minds of his people had proved rewarding. The culture of the realm changed; people found enjoyment, room for creativity and individual thought for the first time, which only furthered the success of the realm, now safely isolated in its pocket of the universe. It had taken several years of hard work and determination, but with the wounds of the past finally healed, the population increased exponentially.
The elders of Alfheim had observed the developments from afar, weary from the battles the other realms inflicted upon them over the years. Once satisfied with King Loki's intent to move away from the violence of the past, they eventually made contact, proposing an alliance to protect one another should war be waged upon them again. The King tentatively accepted their request for their dignitaries to enter his realm and begin discussions.
You were selected to attend the trip as a protector of the dignitaries should King Loki have ulterior motives; your magical ability remained unrivalled on Alfheim, and you were certainly a force to be reckoned with. You had reluctantly agreed to the clothing selected for you; a deep blue dress that cinched at your waist, with an unnecessary plunging neckline. You didn't speak out against their choice, but could see the motivation that lay behind it; a distraction for the eyes while they attempt to negotiate an agreement more advantageous for your realm. Surely furs and high necklines would have been a more logical choice, but they explained this away by requesting your magic was used to maintain a more suitable temperature for the group, avoiding any appearance of weakness from hiding behind layer upon layer of fabric.
Jotunheim was far from what you expected upon your arrival; you hadn't cast eyes on it yourself from Alfheim and relied only upon the stories of old to paint an image in your mind. The tales were clearly outdated, and you were relieved to see a more welcoming environment around you, with no harsh wind battering the once barren land. You entered the palace confused by your placement within the group; concealed as the dignitaries led the way. You had tried to push forwards to lead, but the men failed to part around you, keeping you in place behind them.
King Loki sat on a throne of polished deep blue stone, carefully assessing the movements of the new arrivals. "Welcome, visitors. Please, introduce yourselves." His voice was not what you had expected; he sounded dignified and was well-spoken. The stories had left you worried their language primarily consisted of grunts and guttural screams. The dignitaries proceeded to part slightly, leaving room between one another whilst they introduced themselves to the King. Everyone had now spoken, apart from you.
He could see your halo of light pink hair reflecting in the light of the room behind the cloaked men. He tilted his body slightly in his seat, trying to get a better view. You continued to stare ahead, and his crimson eyes met your own. "Ah" he slyly smiled, "A gift?" The light pink of your eyes darkened slightly at his assumption, and your brow furrowed in response to the insult. You felt the hand of a dignitary meet the exposed skin of your back, and they pushed you forwards slightly, forcing you to reveal yourself fully. "I'm sorry to disappoint you bu-" You had begun to explain your presence, but you were cut short. "Of course, King Loki, should you be happy to accept." His eyes raked up and down your body, he wasn't one to shy away from a challenge, "Gladly, come maiden, tell me your name."
Your blood ran cold, you stood frozen, feet firmly rooted in place. He laughed and instructed his guards to take you to his rooms while he continued pleasantries with the new arrivals. Formal discussions were not scheduled to take place until the next day. The guards approached you, and their cold blue hands gripped your arms, forcing you to take a few steps backwards. "I don't think so!" You were becoming enraged at the assumptions, and the guards quickly withdrew from your flesh that now burned under their fingertips. Loki watched intently, intrigued by your boldness and use of magic. He saw a crimson glow in your eyes that had not been present before, and that sly grin spread across his face again. "It is not wise to refuse a King" he stated, waving his hand through the air towards you, stopping your magic in its tracks. You felt the cold sensation from his power linger on your skin, and the guards grasped you once again, lifting you from your place to carry you out of the room. "We apologise, King Loki, she is usually much more obliging," you heard the dignitaries say before the doors to the throne room were slammed shut.
You were deposited in what you presumed to be his rooms. The guards swiftly left, and you could hear the shuffle of feet outside the doors signalling you were being guarded against escaping. You took a chair in front of the fireplace and stared into the flames, grabbing a white fur to cover your exposed skin while you waited. A maid finally entered the rooms a short while later and tentatively approached you, having been warned of your feistiness. She settled a tray holding a bottle of mead and a small glass beside you. "This is for you, King Loki said you may wish to relax a little before his return." You laughed, reaching out and taking a large gulp directly from the bottle. "Thank you," you replied, glaring at the maid as she left you alone again.
An hour passed, and you shed the fur as you grew warm in front of the fire, carelessly discarding it on the floor. You heard his voice a short distance away and stood in preparation for his entrance, not wanting to be at a tactical disadvantage in your seat. He was not put off by your cold stare as he entered his rooms, and he continued towards you, reaching out for your hand and bringing it to his dark blue lips to place a kiss. "I believe we may have gotten off on the wrong foot." His tone seemed more gentle now he was no longer under the surveying eyes of the dignitaries. He caught you off guard, and you withdrew the magic you were about to cast against him. "I take it as you were brought here under false pretences then?" he sat as he spoke, grabbing the bottle next to him to take his own swig. You raised a brow at his perceptiveness and introduced yourself to him, finally revealing your name. He smiled in response, "Well, nice to finally meet you."
You crossed your arms across your exposed chest as he looked at you, waiting to see if you would ready your magic again. He was pleased to sense you become slightly more at ease as you took the chair next to him. A second glass appeared on the tray that now sat between you both. He poured the honey liquid for both of you and lifted a full glass towards you. You accepted it, your fingers brushing his own as you took it from his hand. A slight blush crept across your face at the touch, and something shifted in his eyes as he watched your reaction. You quickly brought the glass up to your lips. He continued to surprise you as you slipped into natural conversation. You allowed your eyes to scan over the slightly raised and darker blue markings on his face, wondering about their meaning and if they continued further down his body. He, in return, scanned over the slight pearlescence of your exposed skin.
The evening began to slip away as you talked, paying no attention to the time, and you felt relaxed in his company. "We should retire to bed. It would be wise for you to sleep here tonight, or they will begin to talk of our failure to charm one another." You paused to take in his words, slightly shocked at his invitation to enter his bed, but it did make sense. Word from the dignitaries would surely reach the elders, and you were in no position to refuse their wishes. You nodded in response and began to rise, following his lead. You hadn't taken much note of his height previously, distracted by your impulse to protect yourself. He was taller than you, and you stared at his chest, taking in that he stood a full head above you. You didn't even reach his shoulders. You swallowed and allowed him to lead you through a set of doors to his bed-chamber.
Your trunk already sat within the room, and you carefully sifted through the contents, horrified to find only strappy silk nightdresses inside. He sat on the bed facing away from you as he began to undress, and you quickly took the opportunity to change and slide under the heavy layers of covers and furs. Once he felt you settle, he slipped under the covers to join you. You both awkwardly lay on your backs looking up at the ceiling, and you shifted slightly, your hand brushing against his accidentally. He turned to face you in response, scanning his eyes over the jewellery that accentuated the slight point of your ears; you could feel his gaze, and you tensed slightly. "I may be King but I do not rule with the harsh iron fist of my father. You can relax. I won't hurt you. Well, unless you hurt me." A small smile crept up his face, and you allowed yourself to turn to face him, looking into his red eyes.
From what you could sense, he didn't seem to be lying, and the crimson glow in your eyes faded to their usual soft pink. "Your eyes are very expressive, quite the tell," he remarked, and you blushed yet again at his words. "You're not what I expected. The formidable King of Jotunheim." You worried you had spoken out of turn, and the words hung in the air as your eyes frantically searched over his face for a shift in his expression. "You'd do well to not share that information. I can read a room, do not underestimate my ability or intelligence. There is a time and a place for harsh judgement and decision making." You swallowed at his response, the realisation sinking in that you were lying next to a King. A King that had allowed you into his private rooms, albeit with a bit of manhandling. You began to imagine how he could possibly come across the way he had been described. He seemed... charming.
"I see you may have been underestimated. How foolish they are to not regard you as a crowning jewel of Alfheim, handing you over so thoughtlessly" he softly says as he reaches up to touch your cheek. You inhale sharply, his touch cool but relieving; you had begun to grow warm under the many layers of bedding. You can't help but lean into his hand slightly. You feel warm and comforting under his touch, and he shuffles slightly closer to you, wanting to feel more of your heat against his cool skin. He was extremely perceptive. You were surprised to find comfort in his words; you had been underestimated, sold short, and handed off to a stranger the second you arrived. "I don't think I've been handed the worst card I could have been dealt," you whispered, smiling at him. He returned the smile and brought his face closer to yours. You looked into his eyes, questioning his next move, and he closes the gap, connecting his lips to yours. You find yourself returning the kiss, exploring the cool sensation of his skin against the warmth of your own. The contrast is new, exciting even, and your kiss intensifies as your eyes close, lost in the closeness.
You don't recall falling asleep, but awake several hours later, unsure of the time. You find yourself resting your head on his cool muscular chest, with your arm and leg carelessly draped over him. You are embarrassed by your unconscious actions and carefully begin to withdraw from him, feeling improper given your meeting only yesterday. He stirs slightly as you begin to move your leg away, and an 'Mmm" cleaves his mouth as you slide the warm skin of your thigh over his body. You freeze, watching him with wide eyes, and pray to the gods he doesn't wake. His eyes remain closed, and you slowly exhale the breath you didn't know you were holding, continuing to slowly slink away from him. Until his hand firmly grips your thigh, holding it in place. You cringe and feel your face become heated under his touch. He rubs slow circles into your skin with his thumb, and the feelings it stirs in the pit of your stomach surprise you.
"I'm sorry," you whisper, continuing to move your thigh away from him, and retreat to your side of the bed. He groans at the loss of your warm body, and begins to reach his hands out towards you, firmly grasping your waist and dragging you back next to him. He turns, his jaw now resting atop your head, and you are anything but relaxed as your face meets his chest. He is so impossibly close, and you feel a firmness press against your thigh. You hope it's his knee, and you flush as your thoughts drift to other possibilities. ".... Loki?" you mumble against him, and you feel his body tense as he is roused from his sleep. "Hmm?" he asks, his voice deep and raspy, and he is clearly still half lost in a dream.
"You're... crushing me," you manage to speak, your body automatically becoming much warmer in response to his vice grip that is restricting your breath slightly. He doesn't let go, and your temperature continues to rise at his failure to release you until you begin to burn the pads of his fingertips. He quickly pulls away from you, opening his eyes to meet the red glow of yours. You lift your hand to wipe the layer of sweat that has now formed on your brow. "Oh, I'm sorry," he says, still keeping his gaze on you as he yawns. You'd expected a little more of an apology for his actions, and your eyes remain saturated with magic as you now glare at him. He lets out a soft laugh, and you feel your anger building as he laughs at you. He now looks confused, "I assure you I meant no harm, I was asleep, I apologise if it was a little too close for your comfort." You turn over away from him, annoyed, but feel his eyes boring into the back of your head, deep in thought.
You don't receive a further apology, and you feel him pull the covers away from his body as he sits up, shifting to place his feet on the floor as he wakes fully. You curl into a tighter ball, pulling the blankets around you further. "May I ask exactly why you were asked to join the trip?" he asks, still facing away from you. You are surprised by the question, and take a moment to contemplate his motives before you answer. "Well, my magic... to protect them should anything go awry." "Ah" he responds, "Pretty foolish to cast you off the second you arrive then." He's right; it was foolish to do so. You feel the mattress rise as he stands, and he wanders out of the room, giving no hint to where he is going.
King Loki returns to the room a short while later, changed into a fresh set of clothes, though his hair is slightly damp. You smell honey and mint waft through the air toward you. He's bathed, and you allow yourself to inhale the heady aroma as you sit up in bed to watch his movements as he readied for the day. You'd not noted the silver crown that sat on the bedside table last night and watch as he lifts it atop his head, silver horns glinting in the dim room. "You look very commanding," you say, surprised by your boldness as your words slip from your mouth. He grins and parts his mouth slightly, as if to speak, but instead runs his tongue across his upper molars as he takes in your words. You wish you could disappear into the pillows that sat behind you at his reaction. He laughs softly, "Well, I am King darling." Your flush spreads further, creeping further up from your neck, across your face. "I should ready myself, the discussions must be starting soo-" he cuts you off before you can finish your sentence. "That won't be necessary, take your time, you are not required to join the discussions today." Oh. You hadn't expected to be discluded from the talks, but it made sense now you had been handed over to Jotunheim, and you watched as he strolled out the room, hearing the doors close behind him.
You lay back into the pillows, lost at what to do. He hadn't advised exactly how long these discussions would be, and you imagined your hours of mindless solitude, trapped within the walls of his rooms. You sighed heavily as you hauled yourself from the heavy covers, hoping he had left something edible. You were starving after not eating the night prior, and were pleased to be greeted by the savoury aroma of a stew that sat on the same silver tray as last night near the fireplace. You carefully assessed the strange root vegetables it contained, but they tasted pleasant, and you quickly finished the bowl. Your mind drifted to the fragrance he had left in the bedroom, and you wandered through an unknown set of doors, hoping it was a bathroom. It felt strange to wander through the King's private quarters; you felt like you were intruding, but you longed to soak away the stress of the day prior in the vast bath.
You carefully scanned your eyes over the bottles that lined the edge of the bath, opening a select few to inhale their fragrance, searching for the one he had used earlier that morning. You finally found it, and poured the thick liquid into your hand, slathering it over your body, basking in his fragrance. You closed your eyes, focusing on the aroma, and your mind dragged you back to the bedroom. You contemplated this morning, and what would have happened if he had kept you held against his hard member. Your soapy hand creeps down your body, from your breast to your stomach, and you slowly reach towards your core. Ouch! The pain jolts you back to reality, and you glare down at your outstretched hand, frustrated at the inability to relieve yourself. You thought the chastity enchantment would have been removed the second you were handed over to the King, that was why you had been given to him, right? It should only have remained while in servitude to the elders, an annoying sacrifice to ensure your focus is kept on protection, not self-satisfaction. You frustratedly rinse your body and quickly leave the comfort of the warm bath.
You are still laying undressed in the bed when the King returns a few hours later, your mind completely lost in thinking about how to remove the enchantment. Your magic failed to counteract it, the invisible shield over our core would not budge, and your fingertips ached from the continued zaps as you resorted to physical force to try and pry it from you. It was fruitless, it wouldn't budge with your magic, and it certainly wasn't going to be removed by your desperate hands. When the door to the bedroom is flung open, you jump in surprise, entirely embarrassed you lost track of time, fixated only on relief. He stiffens, his face has a slightly confused expression as he looks over you, trying to figure out what you had been doing for such a heavy fragrance of arousal to be lingering in the air. You furiously blush, unable to meet his eye line; this is now beyond embarrassing.
"I... the... I'm afraid the-" his voice waivers, he's struggling to think straight and you allow yourself to finally look at him. It's delightful to watch him fail to string a coherent sentence together, and this isn't aiding your day-long frustration at all. His gaze intensifies as he identifies the need in your eyes, and he desperately moves closer to you with just a few intent strides. He grasps the heavy covers and pulls them away from your body with ease, completely exposing your body to him. He drinks you in; the rapid movements of your flushed chest, your full breasts, and your glittering slick core. "Glorious" he mutters under his breath, and he pounces on top of you, his weight restricting your breath slightly as he hungrily devours the soft skin of your collarbone, before moving up to your neck. You moan against his contact and pull him closer, and he drags his mouth away from your neck to kiss you with fervour, his cold tongue dancing with yours as you both become lost in heady arousal.
The King drags your hips towards him, your thighs opening further to accommodate his broad torso. The cool skin of his now bare chest is teasing your nipples in just the right way, and he can feel them harden beneath him, pressed tightly against him. "I need to have you, I can't, I can't think straight. You've been a distraction to my mind all day." You moan at his words, he's won you over entirely, and you want nothing more than to find out exactly how impressive his cock must be if his large hands are anything to go by. His hand wanders between your thighs, but instead of providing relief to your desperately tightly wound arousal, he hisses in pain, quickly pulling his hand away.
He lifts his body away from yours slightly, moving back from your parted thighs to drink in the sight of your core. He can see every detail; the engorged bud of your clitoris, your wet entrance, and the shimmering veil of magic that inflicted pain upon him. His brow furrows, unable to comprehend why you would do such a thing. "A trick, what are you doing, remove it!" he angrily says to you, and you hold your breath, slightly afraid of his reaction and assumption this was your doing. His eyes are dangerous, and he glares into yours as he awaits an answer. "I. I can't, I'm sorry, it's not me. The elders - it's, it's a requirement for servitude. To focus on protection. So we aren't distracted." His mind quickly directs his malice towards the dignitaries and the elders. How clever they are to have dangled such a tantalising woman in front of him, keeping his mind distracted from the day's discussions as the treaty is formed. His anger grows, but not towards you, and he consciously softens his expression as he looks down on you. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you." You inhale, desperately taking in air.
"May I try to remove it?" he asks, his tone now far more gentle. He hovers his large hand just a few centimetres from your spread core, and every fibre of your being begs he is successful. You nod, and he begins. The reflection of the light radiating from his hand glitters in his eyes as he intently focuses, droplets of sweat now forming on his brow from his mental battle to counteract the magic. The light intensifies, now flickering, and the most intense jolt yet tears through your core. You yelp at the agonising sensation and he quickly retreats his hand, the concern now visible on his face as he watches a tear escape the corner of your eye, your lower lip wobbling. "I'm sorry, this is so stupid, this is my fault. I didn't know!" you cry, and he shifts to lay at the side of you. With your bodies now disconnected, he reaches his hand up to gently cup your face, ensuring your eyes are looking into his own as he speaks to you. "My dear, this is not your fault. I swear to you, I will find a way to resolve this... obstacle... without causing you any harm". You turn to face him, a small laugh escaping your mouth, attempting to hide your feelings of disappointing him, and he connects his lips to yours, gently kissing you, and your eyes flutter shut to return the kiss.
To Be Continued...
Don't hate me, I thought the sense of frustration would really be accentuated by waiting for a Part 2...
*Update* 16/06/2022 - Part 2 is up and can be found here!*

The moment you heard that voice, you knew exactly whose hand rested on your shoulder.
Oh shit.
"Natasha?"
This was not good, this was very not good. Definitely not part of the plan. With her explicit instructions not to get out of bed, you knew she wasn't going to be happy about the situation. You couldn't blame her though, if someone you cared about was doing something incredibly stupid(even if it was justified), you would be concerned too.
"Come with me."
She dragged you down the hall, pulling you into an empty storage room.
After closing the door, she stared at you, green eyes assessing your form. You shifted, fingers fidgeting as you met her gaze. Her eyes never wavered, scrutinizing you with an intensity that made your palms sweat. Your eyes darted from side to side before landing back on-
"I was just...well, you know-" You stopped, going slack-jawed when Natasha was no longer Natasha.
Were you hallucinating because of your concussion? Wait- were hallucinations a symptom of concussions? You were pretty sure they were, given that at least that way it would explain the situation standing before you.
The raven-haired god looking back at you was not Natasha.
"Loki?"
What the fuck? He wasn't in the movie! Oh fuckity-fuckity the whole concussion-thing either really screwed up your head (although at least your speech was better today) or you really screwed up the movie. Either way, something was really screwed up.
"One of my many names."
Ok, so, uhhhh, one question; could hallucinations talk to you?
You were 90% they could. In a lot of movies they could. But then again, movies weren't exactly known for being accurate to any sort of factual subject. Well, even if it was a hallucination, it was a hallucination of Loki, so it couldn't be that bad-
Not gonna be good if you start hallucinating during the fight. Going crazy isn't going to help anyone.
Those thoughts managed to swerve you away from simp-territory, sobering your mood. Reality-territory wasn't exactly sunshines and rainbows.
Wait, did it even count as reality because you're not your reality. You're in a reality but it isn't your reality. Hmmm, then it probably does count as reality-territory just because it is a reality. Right?
Your inner musings were cut off by the shapeshifting god in front of you-
Wait! Shapeshifting! Omfg I'm so stupid. Loki can shapeshift! Oh, thank the universe I'm not going insane yet. Not the optimal time for that. Shit, but what is Loki doing here anyway? I should ask him. Oh wait, he's already talking.
"-foolish mortal. Why is it that all humans lack common sense? Is it a trait all mortals share? Are you all educated to be idiotic? You must be, otherwise it is a wonder that your species has made it this far with a complete lack of intelligence." Loki continued to rant about the stupidity of the entire human race, leaving you somewhat confused because he normally didn't insult humans for this long. He noticed that you didn't seem entirely focused. "Hello? Do humans lack the capacity to listen as well?"
You blinked. "You know, we probably do. That would explain a whole lot of shit."
The two of you stared at each other, silence pervading the room. You began to panic internally because you knew that Tony and Steve were still arguing- or even worse, they had already stopped talking, their conversation resulting in no compromise, the team still apart. Steve and Tony at odds, the rest of the team pulled apart, and it was only going to get worse when Bucky is brainwashed and-
When Bucky is brainwashed, holy fuck. Shitshitshit he's gonna break out and everything is gonna go to hell again.
The pounding in your head that had persisted all day only got worse as your stress rose, the aching only getting more intense. You clutched your hands to your head, breathing heavily as you tried to relax, hoping that the pain would just go.
You felt a hand on your shoulder, and you looked up-
When had you fallen to the floor?
You squinted, the lights of the room making your eyes ache, but you still raised your head to look at the person who had rested a hesitant hand on your shoulder.
Loki didn't enjoy the experience of his emotions growing out of his grasp, much preferring the cold sting of emotionless reason.
He didn't like the feeling of losing control, losing control meant being vulnerable, and being vulnerable meant being weak. He wasn't going to be weak.
You rose to your feet, clutching your head even harder as the world spun.
Bucky was gonna break loose then Civil War was gonna happen then the team would break up and you'd be useless to stop it and then Thor's home would get destroyed and Loki would die and he didn't deserve to die and Thor didn't deserve all that loss and everythingwasgoingtohellandyouneededtofixit- you needed to do something because none of them deserved all the shit that happened to them and you couldn't bare to let it happen when you should've been strong enough to stop it and it's all so horrible and too much and you needed to change it-
"Loki," your voice was hoarse, "in about a year, you're going to be on a spaceship with all the other Asgardians. You have to bring them straight back to Earth. As soon as Asgard is destroyed, bring everyone back. Please, Loki, if you don't, too many people will die."
There were tears running down your face, your breathing coming too quickly, but you couldn't stop-
You wouldn't stop because if you did they would die and it would just end the same and you couldn't live with yourself if you let that happen-
"What do you mean?" Loki's brows were furrowed in unease, his blood running cold at your warning. "Asgard destroyed? How could such a thing happen?"
"It's the only way for everyone to survive," you gasped, desperation giving your voice a haunted edge. "You don't- please, Loki, I can't explain it. Just- just trust me, please."
Your hands dropped, stopping the clutching of your head and resting dejectedly at your sides, fingers fiddling anxiously.
You knew what you were asking of him wasn't fair, and you knew that you couldn't just expect him to trust you. But you needed him to trust you, if only for this one instance. You knew that Loki's trust was almost nonexistent, and thereby almost impossible to earn, but you hoped that maybe- just maybe, he would be wary enough of your warning that he wouldn't forget it.
The distress in your voice and the anguish in your eyes unsettled Loki almost as much as your words, the sincerity throwing him off balance- every part of you seemed to scream that you were telling the truth, that you were begging him to believe. Your profound actions made it scarily easy to believe that you weren't lying- lies weren't at all unfamiliar to the god of mischief, in fact, they were welcome when compared to such earnest proclamations. But how could your attitude be so fervent about a situation that was nothing other than impossible.
You couldn't be telling the truth-
Asgard being destroyed? His people being slaughtered?
No, there was no possibility of such a thing happening. There couldn't be.
Even if you spoke with such grieving torment, your warning as heartfelt as it was ominous, eyes pleading him to believe- it couldn't be possible that you were telling the truth.
"I know you probably don't believe me," your voice was dejected, hopeless. "But don't forget what I'm saying, I-" don't want you to die.
~~
"Tell me, Bucky. You've seen a great deal, haven't you?"
"I don't want to talk about it."
"You fear that...if you open your mouth, the horrors might never stop. Don't worry." A message appeared on the screen in his hands. "We only have to talk about one."
Darkness arrived, all the lights in the buildings going out in one fell swoop.
"What the hell is this?"
"Why don't we discuss your home? Not Romania. Certainly not Brooklyn, no. I mean, your real home." Helmut Zemo removed his glasses, approaching the restrained veteran, a book the color of dried blood clasped in his hands. Reading from those horrid pages, the words coming out crisp as he spoke Russian. "Longing."
Bucky shut his eyes, grunting out a painful, "No.", his head snapping back as the word echoed in his head.
"Rusted."
"Stop." One word with the force of a command, but the desperation of a plea.
"Seventeen."
Bucky's arm trembled, the metal shaking. "Stop."
"Daybreak."
A scream tore out of the man's throat, his anguish breaking free. He clenched his fist and ripped loose of his restraints. He didn't want it to happen again. He didn't want to be less than a person again.
"Furnace. Nine."
Bucky grunted, punching the walls of his cage, his actions desperate- desperate to get out, desperate to stop those words- desperate to not be that monster again. He knew all the suffering he had caused, all the blood spilled at his hands. But even as his fists pounded against the walls, Zemo kept reading, those cursed words falling from his lips.
"Benign."
The alarms blared, red lights casting ghastly shadows across the walls, familiar ghosts lurking just beyond his field of view.
"Homecoming. One. Freight Car."
With one final punch, the door flew off, one person standing in the opening.
The man who rose to his feet, eyes vacant and body tense, was not the man who had been in agony mere moments before.
The Winter Soldier had arrived.
"Soldier?"
"Ready to comply."
~~
“Fuck.”
You sighed, massaging your temples and trying to stand in a way that caused the least amount of pain to flare up from your back.
Running around looking for a warehouse that could be literally any of the stupid-fucking-buildings that surrounded you was not a great task for someone with a concussion and burns all the way down their back.
You were lost, tired, and in pain, and you just wanted to find Steve, Sam, and Bucky, but nooooo, the buildings all had to look alike and the movie never showed exactly which warehouse. It was a pile of bullshit and you were tired of the stink. Jeez, you weren’t supposed to even be out of bed, better yet sprinting around abandoned warehouses in a frantic search for international fugitives, all because you had been kidnapped (again), making you miss when Bucky gets brainwashed, and by extension, leaving you unable to change shit about it.
You kicked a rock, the clang of the object striking the side of the warehouse resonating through the area. The noise didn’t manage to tear you out of your thoughts, going unheard by your ears, but not by others.
You knew how everything would turn out if you couldn’t figure out a way to change it, but you were having trouble finding Steve, better yet changing the course of the MCU history. You needed to figure out something to keep the rift from growing and half the Avengers becoming fugitives, something that would help them, maybe even make a compromise be possible. The problem you were most worried about at the moment, was when Tony found out that Bucky killed his parents. Bucky wasn’t at fault, but he was blamed, and you needed something, anything, that would help.
Tony was angry, a more than understandable emotion when finding out your parents were murdered, but blaming Bucky wasn’t fair or useful. Bucky was a tortured, traumatized man, he didn’t deserve Tony or anybody else’s hate. Not when he gave up everything to fight for his country.
Not when he gave up everything to save his friend.
You just wanted to help.
Unfortunately, the world didn’t seem to give a single-flying-fuck about what you wanted, so if you were going to change the course of fucking history, you couldn’t count on any help from anybody. None of them knew the truth about you, and while that kept you up at night (knowing that you were withholding information from your heroes all because you couldn’t bear the thought of having to leave this world), you needed to make sure that you changed something. The only problem (well, the most pressing one at the moment) was that you were concussed and definitely not in the greatest shape for a fight, you needed someone who could help you but you couldn’t tell anyone the truth about who you were.
Well, you thought, there was one person who seemed to have an inkling that you weren’t everything you said you were.
Telling Loki though? As much as you admired the god of mischief, you couldn’t count on him to help you.
You kicked the next rock even harder, the loud ping of it striking the wall not registering in your
Your desperation for someone to help you didn’t outweigh your need to stay in the world, and while that was selfish, you couldn’t risk losing this amazing new life until you knew for a fact that you couldn’t help everyone on your own. You still had hope to keep the team together, Tony hadn’t seen the Bucky footage, Steve could still tell him before the information was sprung on them.
T’Challa was able to restrain himself from lashing out in vengeance (it took him a while, but he didn’t kill Zemo), so maybe Tony could be reasoned with. He wasn’t a bad man, just someone blinded by grief and anger.
You didn’t want them to fight again. You didn’t want them to tear each other apart.
The next rock you kicked finally resulted in a loud enough noise to startle you out of your thoughts.
Mainly because that noise was a scream.
“Why did you kick that rock so damn hard?” Sam rubbed his face. “Jeez, I’m gonna have a bruise.”

Sylki is not incest / autocest / selfcest :
So… I risk repeating myself, but I really hate hearing that Sylki is incest, or autocest. Quite simply because it's not true.
Incest : Sexual relations between close relatives (marriage is prohibited) ; incestuous love.
Sylvie and Loki are not close relatives, for the simple reason that they do not share the same blood / DNA. (Variant = genetically distinct) Beyond that, they didn't even grow up / live together, so also can't be bonded like Loki is with his adoptive family.
Autocest : The act of cloning oneself and having sexual relations with said clone.
First of all, Sylvie is not a clone of Loki. She was conceived naturally and born naturally. And even as a variant of Loki she is not him. Once again, she does not share the same blood / DNA as the latter. Beyond that, in terms of pure personality, no, she's not the same as him. They act differently and think differently. Episode 3 is probably the one that illustrates this best during season 1. The number of times Loki points out that he would not act the way Sylvie acts and she replies that, well, she is not not him. Which is completely normal, since the two have not had the same life experiences. What shapes who we are as a person is the trials of life, our experiences. And Loki and Sylvie definitely didn't have the same ones.
“My interpretation of it is that they're both Lokis, but they aren't the same person. I don't see them as being like brother and sister. They have completely different backgrounds… and I think that's really important to her character.” - Kate Herron.
So in summary, they don't share the same blood / DNA. They also don't have the same experiences, so as a result they have different personalities.
So… literally, this incest and autocest bullshit has no backing.
The whole series spends its time reminding us that Sylvie is not Loki. She says it herself several times. Moreover, to clearly reinforce this trait, “Sylvie” is literally a name that she chose for herself, precisely to differentiate herself from Lokis. It's hammered home throughout the series, Sylvie is her own person. This is also why Loki reminds Mobius that Sylvie, well, her name is Sylvie, when he tells him that he has fallen in love with himself, in 1x04. To remind the viewer that no, Sylvie is not Loki, she is again her own person. And it's problematic for me when so many people try so hard to reduce her to being a Loki. Even from those who love her. Simply because it's something Sylvie hates : Being called / cathegorized by Loki. (Probably because it removes the impression of being a person and brings it back to the fact that the TVA only sees her as a variant, and therefore that she should not exist, knowing that she just wants to have a life and live it)
“Also, Sylvie's not Loki. Sylvie is Sylvie.” - Tom Hiddleston.
The only thing Sylvie and Loki really share internally is being the deity of mischief. Which translates into a role / identity given to them within the universe / timeline they came from, with the same power base ; the witchcraft. Something that is learned and not transmitted by genetics in the MCU universe. So there is nothing biological about it that could relate to incest and even less to autocest.
“They sort of have the same role in terms of the universe and destiny, but they won't make the same decisions.” - Kate Herron.
Are Sylvie and Loki alike ? Yes. But no more than other fictional couples are capable of being. That they resemble each other in some way is not proof that they are the same person. Especially since as said previously, they do not have the same personalities / lived / dna / blood...
Once again, Reylo is the perfect example in terms of comparison to Sylki : - Different, but complicated pasts which return them to their feeling of loneliness. - Their problem of opening up to the world because of there traumas. - The feeling that no one else really understands them. - Similarity in combat techniques and synchronization of movements at various times, etc.
Then, something else that both annoys me and makes me laugh a lot… It's those who use Sylvie's line during episode 5 from season 1, namely “we're the same”, the only one of its kind you will notice in Sylvie's mouth, but ardently use by the antis to prove themselves right in their argument that Sylvie is absolutely the same person as Loki, so that the relationship is considered incest, or autocest. So… I don't know what these people's consumption of cinematic media is, but they must have missed a lot of romances… No, because it's a classic phrase / expression in this area, to express that two characters are alike ! Example :
Tumblr media
Telling another person “we're the same” is not a contradiction to “I am not you”. And I can't believe this is something I have to explain / needs to be explained to some people.
“I think he realizes, and she realizes, that while they're the same, they're not the same.” - Tom Hiddleston.
I mean... No one is seriously going to say that the spidermans of the Marvel shared universe are the same person. Are they ? Because I've never seen anyone do it. Normal. Since that would just be completely stupid ! No ? Also, directly in the case of the MCU we were treated to Thor and Jane, both being thunder deities, which didn't bother anyone, according to my memories !
The fact that Sylvie is a variant of Loki with whom he falls in love is specifically there to bring about the rather clear metaphor / symbolism of Loki learning to finally love himself as a person (besides loving someone else entirely), even though he considers himself a monster. Because yes, Loki's narcissism is essentially just a cover to hide how monstrous he feels, something I feel like a lot of people forget.
Loki “falls in love with himself”, as Mobius describes it, is not proof of vanity / narcissism which would prevent any evolution of Loki as Mobius and some antis claim. On the contrary, Loki's love for Sylvie not only leads him to see himself differently, but also allows him a real positive evolution.
“to me, is ultimately about self-love, self-reflection and forgiving yourself, it just felt right that that would be Loki's first real love story.” - Michael Waldron.
“I don't think Loki's relationship with himself has been very healthy,” Tom Hiddleston explains. “Trying to accept those aspects of himself, which he's been on the run from, was a way of thinking about that in a really interesting way.”
Besides, in the end, to rephrase in a clearer sense, Loki falls in love with Sylvie as much because he sees himself in her (the metaphor of the dagger in 1x03) as he finds her amazing as a person (Loki discovering Sylvie's story at the start of episode 4 on Lamentis).
Something that is once again nothing surprising in a romance. Many couples fall in love because they find themselves in the person they love, in addition to for the differences they share. Even if Loki's metaphor for love with the dagger is not entirely correct, the aspect of seeing oneself in it is for some a truth.
“Love [...]. You can see yourself in it.” - Loki, 1x03.
“When Loki meets Sylvie, he's inspired solely by curiosity,” reveals Hiddleston. “He wants to talk to her and understand her and try to discern what was similar about their experiences, and what was different. He keeps asking her questions because he wants to see if his experience was also her experience. I think he realizes, and she realizes, that while they're the same, they're not the same.”
So, not only does the incest and autocest argument not work, but the similarities these two share (which seem to bother so many people) and the reason(s) they fall in love, well are in is more of a classic fictional couple coding question designed to represent either the complementarity aspect or the soulmate aspect.
Sylki is essentially two sides of the same coin, or mirrors of each other, like many fictional romantic relationships. (Reylo again for exemple !) Which consequently causes their influence on each other. Because yes, not only does Sylki falling in love influence Loki, but also Sylvie.
Loki obviously learns, as I have already said, to love himself, but also to love someone else unconditionally, to trust them fully. He also learns a new form of magic, and in the end, he even starts playing the hero. Sylvie learns for the first time in her life to trust someone, to open up, to form a team and above all finally develops her first good memories. People often say that Sylvie is incapable of sacrificing herself for anyone, but the truth is that she literally scrambled herself to have a chance of finding Loki, when she wasn't even sure that It would work and perhaps simply kill her, therefore indirectly committing suicide. Additionally, it is also emphasized how Sylki is stronger together than apart.
“They are a mirror to each other. They challenge each other, and out of the challenge, they grow together.” - Tom Hiddleston.
With everything I have just explained / demonstrated, I really have a hard time understanding how this ship can be so controversial / misunderstood…
I don't find the series very subtle on the message for Sylki and beyond that, the writers and actors themselves have already explained these same things in a more condensed way in several interviews.
I mean, I am aware that sometimes the words of directors, screenwriters and actors can be stupid and incoherent (the case of the HOTD series being the perfect example of that…), but here, don't mess around, the series (at least season 1) was very well constructed and visibly thought out.
Really, I don't understand. One of the reasons why people are so uncomfortable is surely and simply maybe the term variants (and again it's because I'm nice...), which for these people necessarily equates to being the same person in all the meanings of the term, which, as we have demonstrated throughout this post, is absolutely not the case… Which can be verified by the series itself, the interviews with the writers and actors which agree with what is shown on the screen, etc. Knowing that in addition I have seen tons of people on tumblr with absolutely remarkable analytical skills (and therefore also in terms of symbolism) yet surprisingly not understanding what the Sylki relationship is, defining it instead as a incest / autocest…
So I can only at this stage, for me at least, deduce that this kind of talk about Sylki is willful and stubborn ignorance from people who simply don't like the ship, trying to justify it from a more “reasonable” and or perhaps “intellectual” way, no idea… than a simple “I don't like it, because tastes cannot be controlled”. Which is OK, because everyone has the right to like what they like / want !
On the other hand, spreading or saying bullshit / false things about the ship in question, to persuade people not to / no longer like it, is something I can't stand.
Please note, everyone is free to say whatever they want, as long as they clarify once again that it is their personal opinion. I am talking about people who speak of their opinion about this ship (or any ship) as fact while making fun of others who like it, make them feel guilty / horrible, or trying to change people's tastes…
Is Sylki weird ? Yes, of course. We are talking about two variants with the same identity falling in love ! Obviously the viewer will find this strange, because it's a concept almost never seen before after all in tv, and complex. But it doesn't necessarily mean bad, toxic, perverse, immoral or unhealthy relationship as the antis argue (knowing that in addition it is in contradiction with the positive message about love for oneself that the relationship transmits), notably to try to take down the ship, especially since Sophia di Martino said she found Sylki “weird”. Which is infuriating, because they act as if the actress's opinion is dominant over those directly writing the story, and that her simple opinion will change the minds of Sylki's fans or should condemn the ship to any possible future ! But also it is mostly infuriating because, well, beyond that, as @where-theres-smoak-2 so well pointed out :
“when you actually look at the definition of the word weird it doesn't necessarily mean something bad. The definition from Cambridge dictionary is : very strange and unusual, unexpected, or not natural. The Merriam-Webster definition is : of strange or extraordinary character, of, relating to, or caused by witchcraft or the supernatural. Which lets be honest fits Sylki, they are unusual, strange, unexpected, extraordinary and you could argue with the whole variant thing its got that supernatural element to it as well. I mean them being weird is what makes them fun and entertaining to watch so honestly I'm not mad that she said they were weird.”
But in itself, is the relationship incest ? No. Because not the same blood / DNA and in no way grew up together like Loki was do with Thor / his adoptive family. Autocest / the same literal person ? Neither. For what ? Because again not the same blood / DNA, and they have not the sames experiences, therefore different personalities which influence their behaviour. Being variants, for Sylki, simply mean (once again) being the deity of mischief, a role / identity given to them within the universe / timeline they came from. That's all. (Damn, some will also tell me while we're at it that the crocodile Loki is the same as our Loki ?! Be a little objective people…) There is nothing bad, toxic, perverse, disgusting, immoral or unhealthy about the Sylki relationship.
Fuck the antis !

I WAS LOOKING FOR A GIF AND I DIDN'T FIND IT BUT I DID FIND THIS
Tumblr media
This is so beautiful it makes me want to churn out 500 words before bed. They really could be old friends in the right universe, and Ten is definitely the incarnation he'd vibe with the most.
Mr. L doesn't think so. He thinks Loki bears too many traits in common with John Simm's Master. IDK I think even Loki would need to step back and take a breather while dealing with copious amounts of Saxon!Master.
Tumblr media
Maybe Saxon!Master and Sylvie can run off together and he can drive her so completely insane for all eternity

So I was looking at some interviews from those involved in the show and ended up going down the rabbit hole into old interviews from season 1, seriously there are some absolute sylki gems in them. This is probs old news to most but I'm going to share them with you anyway because I really enjoyed reading them and they helped heal my somewhat wounded sylki heart after the series finale, like loki's sacrifice for her was beautiful but I also kind of wanted them to run off together into the sunset so...anyway first interview we have is from the director of season 1 Kate Herron where she addresses whether Loki and Sylki are the same person and whether their relationship is self-cest.
Tumblr media
I just love the way she explains it here because its the same way I saw it myself, they might both be Loki's but they have very different ways of thinking, different life experiences, even slight differences in personality. To me its similar to the Roman verses Greek gods. Jupiter and Zeus are essentially the same person in the roles that they play within mythology and yet they aren't exactly the same they have slightly different personalities, character traits and skills. The same can be said for many of the other Greek gods and their Roman counterparts. Its the same for Loki and Sylvie, they play the same role within their own universe but they are far from the same person.
Kate also had this to say on the subject:
Tumblr media
Again, I 100% agree with her, all the variants we see are very different from each other, kid loki is different from future loki who is different from boastful loki who is different from alligator loki. I mean the very term variant, its definition is 'a form or version of something that differs in some respect from other forms of the same thing or from a standard.' So of course they aren't the same. I also agree that there's something beautiful about their romance.
Sticking with Kate she also said this, which I really love, about their romance:
Tumblr media
I love how she describes them as like teenagers when they try talking about their feelings. It's how I felt when watching their blanket scene in 1x05, you could see they were both feeling a little giddy at being near each other and wrapped up under the blanket together, but at the same time there's this awkwardness where they are struggling to communicate how they really feel about each other. Exactly like two teenagers falling in love for the first time. Sophia also said something similar:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She also talks about it being this teen like love, where they are experiencing those feelings for the first time. But she also elaborates on how it makes Sylvie feel vulnerable and that it all feels to intense and too much, which I think makes so much sense for Sylvie's character. I mean from 11 years old she has been on her own, being hunted and moving from one dying world to the next. It wasn't exactly the best environment for her to be bonding and having a meaningful romantic connection with anyone, or even any meaningful connection full stop, everyone around her was always about to die. Even though these romantic feelings are new to Loki and he also doesn't really know how to deal with them or communicate them he has one advantage Sylvie doesn't, he has formed meaningful connections in his past, he knew the love of his family. It's really sad how Sylvie doesn't find it easy to open herself up to people because you know its how she survived this far. But I also think its kind of beautiful how Loki is the first person she is able to open up to and be vulnerable around. I think there is always a lot of focus on how this is Loki's first love story, and how beautiful it is to watch him fall in love and open up to others, which I also love talking about, but it is interesting to also explore it from Sylvie's point of view.
Going back to Kate's statement about Sylki being like teens, she also covers the kiss they share in 1x6 and again I really love what she had to say about it, she talks about it some more here:
Tumblr media
I'm so happy she clarified that the kiss wasn't just a trick, that there were genuine feelings behind it, Kate says it was important that it didn't feel like just a trick so it seems like alot of thought and care went into making sure that this kiss between them showed all the complex feelings that went into it, that it wasn't just a cold calculated move on Sylvie's part. Sophia again said something similar:
Tumblr media
What I have deduced from all the interviews about the kiss is that Sylvie was in a bad place emotionally, which makes sense as she opened up to a person for the first time and let herself be vulnerable and now she feels like that person is betraying her, she is seeing things very differently from him, also her life long mission of finding and killing the one responsible for taking her life, home and family from her is right in her reach, but its Loki that is standing in the way of her achieving that goal. Then on top of that she has all these very new, deep and intense feelings for Loki, they haven't just magically disappeared in this moment and then he's making this very touching and romantic speech about not wanting throne but wanting her to be ok, which has to have made her feel some kind of way seeing as she's never really had anyone care about her before. I think its all of this that she throws into the kiss. Its a way to distract him to get the tempad so she can get him out the way sure, but she also wants him to be safe, she doesn't want to, can't kill him but she also can't let her mission go, she's fought for it for too long. She knows pushing him through the time door will likely break their relationship, that this could be the last time she sees him and so she kisses him to say goodbye and in a way to say thank you for the care, love and time he has given her. But also I think she kisses him because that's the natural progression of their feelings, its her giving in to those intense feelings that have been building since Lamentis.
But my favourite quote about their kiss/fight has to be this one from Sophia:
Tumblr media
Anyone who has seen Mr and Mrs Smith will know which scene she is talking about here and honestly now that she has made the comparison I can see where she is coming from. I do find the comparison kind of hilarious for some reason though, its fun. It also makes sense to me that Sophia sees Sylvie as Angelina's character, in the film her character is the one who is more closed off with her feelings and hiding behind this persona of not really caring but through her acting you can see how hurt and how deep her feelings truly are and that she does in fact really love her husband and hates that she's on an opposing side to him. I think Sylvie is very much the same in this scene, she kind of shoves her feelings behind a wall in order to deal with this situation where they've found themselves on opposite sides.
I also think Loki is similar to Brad Pitt's character in that both characters are alot more open and vulnerable about how they are feeling but also still stand their ground and position in the disagreement. They are also both the first to put down their weapons and kind of say I care about you, I don't want to hurt you, so your move.
I also came across some interviews from season 1's head writer Michael Waldron and he also said some interesting things about Sylki:
Tumblr media
I think its interesting that he says it was the love story between Sylki that was the crux of his pitch for the show and I do think this came through in the series particularly in season 1 where it was their relationship that drove the story, I also think that when you really look at it, whilst you've got the whole time travel aspect and this quest for free will theme etc, but the story really is a story about love and I think that is really beautiful personally.
Michael also talks about their moment on Lamentis and it adds some interesting insights:
Tumblr media
The thing that catches my attention in this statement is where he clarifies that they both are developing these new feelings, as I said above I think alot of attention is put on Loki and how he feels in alot of the interviews out there that Sylvie and her feelings get pushed to the back a little, so its good to see that Michael is saying that both of them are feeling the same way. The other thing that I noticed, and I am not ashamed to admit that I internally squealed when I read it, unneccessairly so, is the line 'falling in love with one another.' I just get all happy and giddy whenever I see anyone using the word love in relation to Sylki. Like I feel like they have fallen in love, but it is nice to see it official confirmed by the head writers.
Speaking of, these next ones are more recent ones from post season 2, but Kevin Wright the Executive Producer for season 2 also used the L-word in relation to Sylki's relationship:
Tumblr media
This again makes me sad but also happy at the same time, because it is a heartbreaking situation for Sylvie and Loki to be in, not to mention so complicated. The part talking about Loki kind of wanting to save Sylvie from making the same mistakes he did because of how deeply he loves her, that hit me hard, like that's a heartbreakingly tough position to be in, watching someone you love go down this self-destructive path of vengeance and anger. I also think its equally as tough for Sylvie who has these deep feelings for the first time, a person she connected with and who she could be vulnerable with but now they aren't seeing things the same way and she can't understand why because she hasn't had the same experiences Loki has and so can't see where this current path will lead her.
At the same time though, there is that beauty in it, this kind of pure and unselfish love, of wanting the best for another person, even over your own wants and desires. Kevin covers this aspect as well when talking about Loki's sacrifice at the end of season 2:
Tumblr media
He again uses Love here saying that it is Loki's love for Sylvie and his friends that make him go through all those time loops and then ultimately making the huge sacrifice that he does to save them all and let them live the lives they wish. To me it really was the purest display of love that Loki could have made, I mean how exhausting must it have been to go through all those time loops? And then in the end he has to face his biggest fear, being alone.
Kevin also talks about how Sylki are essentially exes in season 2 who can't get on the same page but who still deeply care for each other, which again makes sense, I definitely got that vibe from them.
Eric Martin said something similar too when asked if Sylki is still a romance in season 2:
Tumblr media
Again this makes sense to me from what we saw in season 2. I think they are following the classical romance troupes, season 1 was setting up their romance and then having them 'break up' in the final hour. Season 2 is the messy, angsty fall out of that break up where they are trying to navigate being around each other again and trying to figure out where they stand with each other. Tom said in a recent interview that they were feeling so hurt and betrayed by each other that they are struggling to even get back to a place where they can even talk to each other. Which again I think came across in season 2 especially in their reunion scene.
Luckily the most logical next step is for them to work through those messy feelings of theirs, talk it out and then forgive each other leading to them reuniting romantically. I mean Michael did say the series was about self love, self reflection and forgiving yourself, and that Sylki was partly a way for them to explore that, so if they are sticking with that theme, with Sylki being variants, it would make sense to me for them to forgive each other.
Sophia also said that Sylvie won't just leave Loki alone and walk away, she'll want to know that he's ok and help keep him in check if his ego gets too much and he tries messing with things too much, trying to control or change things. I do find the image of Loki starting to mess with things only for Sylvie to show up like 'Loki no!' kind of funny, it would be very in line with her character. But both Sophia and Tom have hinted that season 2 isn't the end of the story for their characters, so I am excited to see where they go from here and how and when they might show up again.
Personally I would love to see a Sylvie spin off show and have her character developed some more, learn more about her backstory and let her gain some more experiences now that she doesn't have to constantly run from the TVA. Maybe that way when she meets with Loki again they might be more on the same page.
Anyway, this got longer than I intended, so sorry about that. You'll be pleased to know you have reached the end of this post, thank you for reading to the end if you got here though.

A long time ago @justneilio created an LGBT+ mod but they never updated it since they abandoned mods. Some time later, a user who still had it found one of the traits of the mod on a cat.
Tumblr media
This made us laugh so much because at that time there was also the meme of the cat with heterochromatic eyes with the person saying "he has homophobia in his eyes ♥️" that we decided to create "Homophobic Cat", a beast of Satan who sets fire to everything and to everyone. For some reason Neil wanted to try the cat with Loki Beaker's family and it's funny to think how Homophobic Cat haunts him throughout the universes.

When I noticed that in my uberhood, my Erin has a black cat, it added a piece of lore that Homophobic Cat was Erin's cat.

Can we agree that sylvie is the best Loki it was because she rejects herself as Loki and hate being Loki it's so stupid?
Reject yourself is not make you be better version of yourself, being the best version of yourself is meant accepting everything about you, the best and the worst, take responsibility all your actions and be better or not getting worse. That is meaning the best version of yourself.
And sylvie is not the best Loki, she literally definition of the worst version of loki (it's has nothing to do with gender) . Let's recap so called superior loki, she's not super smart, she's not powerful she's not kind and polite she's not mischief, she's not chaming, she's not even trying be better for herself.
And no no no, don't justify 'she hard life ' so? She not event trying behave , she no want take responsibility her actions and make it worse she keep blaming everyone even that is problems he cause. So is that called superior/best version of Loki?
And for record it was okey being mean and selfish character but the problem is that showrunner keep shoving to our face that sylvie is the best and she hero while the whole scenes showing that she's nothing and the worst uninteresting character ever made.
Make me really questioned why she exist in first place anyway? When she end up like this
What is frustrating is that it doesn't make sense, or at least it is never given a solid reason why Sylvie would reject being Loki. What is the concept of being Loki to her?
Loki does have a concept of himself as a figure. He is recognized as a god on Earth, and he has legends and stories about him. He has a reputation on Asgard itself and he is aware that people perceive him in a certain way. But Sylvie doesn't have that, she was taken as a child and never would see the impression she got in others' eyes.
The only negative perception of being "Loki" would be coming from the TVA, the fascists who are tormenting her. Why would she care what they thought? Moreover, they're hunting her because of a variant, not because she's Loki and she still calls herself the goddess of mischief. She rejects Loki while still claiming the moniker of Loki. That be like if there was a Peter Parker who said his name was Joe, but he was still Spider-Man and still defined himself as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
Sylvie is just rejecting her given name, because…. But her story isn't rejecting being the villains in the story or rejecting traits people attribute her, she just doing stuff and doesn't care about anything but her own personal goals.
So, there is no in-universe reason to reject being "Loki" while still acting the way she does. The explanation is that out of universe reason, the creators think "Loki" is something bad and to be rejected.

don't you love when characters are completely stripped from every trait that made them so likeable just for a love interest and to try to paint awful people (hydra/Peggy TVA and illuminati) like they're the good ones? Isn't it awesome? And also inclusion points to Marvel because the love interest thing used to happen only to female characters, but now Steve, Loki and Stephen are part of it too 🥰
Tumblr media
I'm not watching it either. I've been told it's better than the first one but at this point I don't want to touch Marvel with a ten-foot pole.
Loki is tortured, imprisoned, and emotionally abused. But Sylvie is a good girl.
Bucky has to make amends but the TVA agents are good guys and according to Wright, the TVA is SHIELD. Not Hydra, no. It's SHIELD.
Stephen is the only threat to the multiverse and Thanos was his fault and he's a villain... but the Illuminati are the good guys.
Loki's past and his characterization? In the trash. Stephen's sacrifices and lessons learned? Ignored. Steve's morality and legacy? Given to a woman who tarnishes it and doesn't deserve it while Sam is ignored.
We can add Wanda here too. One of the most complex characters in Marvel uttering "muh kids, muh kids" every two minutes in MoM.
What is happening?! Are Marvel even aware that they're a superhero cinematic universe? That the whole point of these movies/series is to take the side of the heroes and fight the system, especially when it's corrupted? They can pretend it's "inclusivity" and "representation" what's drowning them, but it's not that. These stories make no sense. They're ruining their characters.

Finally got myself to actually draw a decent pic of Loki. Coupled with an older pic I’ve made of Sigyn.
Note that those are my interpretations of those deities as the characters for my Wattpad YA novel project. This is meant to be a retelling but with some major changes to the Norse lore filled with some extra details from me, so look at them as if they were OCs.
OK, with that out of the way, here’s some stuff about each of them:
LOKI:
AFAB, genderfluid, but mostly stays in masculine forms, although isn’t shy about being born as a girl. Will punch, however, if someone brings it up in an insulting manner.
Even if he’s male at the moment, still has some feminine traits in his looks. More beautiful than handsome, like in some old shoujo manga. For this pic of him I specifically used a panel of Lady Oscar from Riyoko Ikeda’s The Rose of Versailles as a reference.
This Loki is half Aesir, half Jotunn and a shapeshifter, capable of changing every part of his body as he wishes… except his eyes that always stay the same, showing who that person really is. That wouldn't be much of a problem if he didn’t have very unique eyes. Their odd colors and shape, coming from his Jotunn DNA with some mutations don’t help him with appearing as a good person or not standing out from the crowd.
Exhibits traits similar to that of ADHD. In universe they say he has bees inside his head. Also an extrovert.
Using high school tropes, he’s more of a class clown with some believing he’s a hopeless case.
Homeless by choice, but sometimes crashes at one of his few friends' places. This includes Eir’s, whom he sees as the closest thing to a mother figure and teacher, Thor’s, Sigyn’s and Balder’s.
Before Sigyn, Loki wasn’t ever in a serious relationship, at best flirting. Other than with her, the closest he was with Balder, but had to shut it down because of Frigg’s disapproval. Balder is still open to starting again.
SIGYN:
Autistic and an introvert, very fond of being left alone. Takes pride in being independent and doesn’t like asking for help unless she really can’t do something alone.
Hates being touched without permission, especially touching someone else’s bare skin with her own. She finds it gross, with all that pores secreting stuff and living, moving flesh underneath.
Recently she had survived being mauled almost to death by a pack of hungry wolves, leaving her with both physical and mental scars as well as chronic pain in one of her legs and hand. Despite this she still tries to live as she used to, even if she needs to take some limits into account.
Sigyn is a demigodess. She used to live as a hermit deep in Migdard woods, believed by local humans to be a cryptid, but now, after the attack, lives in the outskirts of an Asgardian village in Thor’s domain.
Being half god, half human, height wise she’s in the middle: at 175 cm not as tall as the average goddess but taller than the average human at the time of the vikings. The best way to describe her is as if someone made a lifesize clay sculpture of a girl and then, when the material was still soft, stretched out some body parts and toned down to the absolute minimum all feminine traits. She’s still looking like a girl, but could pass as a young man by just wearing male clothing.
Sigyn likes to keep her hair short and would cut whenever it became possible to tie them into a ponytail. That’s because she finds them hard to maintain and bothersome getting everywhere even when tied.
