📽️ Enola Holmes 2 (2022)
I think I liked this one better than the first, but only because it explored more of Enola’s relationship with Tewkesbury. The two movies are pretty similar in quality. The first one did a lot of setting up, so I also enjoyed this one more because I already knew the main characters. I really enjoyed both movies, though. I know a third one hasn’t officially been confirmed, but I hope there is another one because these are good movies.
Sex/nudity: 1/10 (kissing)
Language: 1/10 (mild British exclamations)
Violence: 4/10 (a little more gruesome than the first one, several fights, some deaths on and off screen with bodies shown)
Overall rating: 8/10

DC Comics Adds 3 ‘New Golden Age’ Series
Tumblr media
DC Comics’ The New Golden Age banner will soon boast three more series spearheaded by Geoff Johns. Alan Scott: The Green Lantern hails from Tim Sheridan and Cian Tormey, Jay Garrick: The Flash hails from Jeremy Adams and Deogo Olortegui, and Westley Dodds: The Sandman hails from Rob Venditti and Riley Rossmo. According to Johns, the three 6-issue miniseries will tie back into Justice Society of America and some other titles that DC is brewing.
Alan Scott: The Green Lantern will, through a timeline twist, revisit and recontextualize “the origins of the first Green Lantern through the lens of our modern understanding of the man. The story, which begins in the 1930s, is about an old flame – the kind that burns eternal – and the sometimes head-on, single-track collision of our personal and professional lives. This is Alan’s coming-of-age, in which he must embrace the man he is, to become the hero he’s meant to be. In the end, he’ll have gained a greater understanding of himself and his gifts – as he unlocks a new, previously unknown ability that could make him the most powerful Green Lantern in existence!” (DC Comics)
Tumblr media
Jay Gerrick: The Flash finds Jay reunited and trying to reconnect with his long lost daughter Judy, who is also a speedster. “They’ll need to work to find common ground when a mission that started in Jay’s early days as the Flash comes roaring to today. But will The Flash and The Boom be able to thwart a plan that’s been in the works for decades?!” (DC Comics)
Tumblr media
Wesley Dodds: The Sandman follows the pacifist Wesley. “He has given up on the hope of a peaceful world, but he hasn’t stopped believing that people can be better to each other, if they’re only given the right tools. Possessing a scientist’s optimism and romanticism, he is convinced that humanity can invent cures for its own ills. Having learned about the battlefield horrors of World War I from his father, he sought to create a sleep gas that would allow for “humane” warfare. During his research, he recorded all of his attempts in his science journal - even those with horribly deadly consequences - swearing to never show them to the world. Now his journal has been stolen, and he must find the culprit and stop them before his deadly mis-inventions fall into the arsenals of the belligerent nations threatening to pull the United States into the next world war.” (DC Comics)
Alan Scott: The Green Lantern #1, Jay Gerrick: The Flash #1, and Wesley Dodds: The Sandman #1 go on sale in October 2023.

Wesley Dodds: The Sandman by Rob Venditti and Riley Rossmo
Ahead of Stargirl: The Lost Children’s last issue on May 9th, DC is revealing three brand-new titles that will be under The New Golden Age banner spearheaded by superstar writer Geoff Johns (Flashpoint). All-Star creative teams will be bringing Golden Age characters Alan Scott, Jay Garrick and Wesley Dodds to life in three six-issue mini-series, Alan Scott:The Green Lantern by Tim Sheridan and Cian Tormey, Jay Garrick: The Flash by Jeremy Adams and Diego Olortegui and Wesley Dodds: The Sandman by Rob Venditti and Riley Rossmo. Also a part of the Dawn of DC yearlong storytelling initiative, all three first issues will be available at local comic shops in October.
“It’s long past time that the heroes of the Justice Society had their own titles again,” said Geoff Johns. “At the same time, they had to be special, important, and emotional stories, each one exploring character, revealing secrets, and introducing new heroes and villains to the DC Universe. These three series will all tie back into Justice Society of America and a few other titles we’ve got brewing.”

'never fear, big sister is here!' by antebunny
Author: @antebunny
“Are those…gunshots?”
And two incredibly suspicious younger siblings.
“No,” lies Jason, like a lying liar. He pushes a dryer in front of another exit. Then he uses his grappling hook to tear the grate off the ceiling vent. He’s far too big to fit in the vents, but potentially the Dodds won’t know that.
“Oh my bad, that must be a completely unrelated sound which happens to be indistinguishable from gunfire,” Tim snarks.
“Jason. We know what gunshots sound like.”
Oh God, Tim and Steph are working in tandem now. Jason is screwed.

Welcome to Letters2fiction!
The concept here is to send in a question or a letter request, and you’ll get a response from your fictional character of choice, from the list below. Please stick to the list I’ve made, but of course, you can ask if there’s some other characters I write for, I don’t always remember all the shows, movies or books I’ve consumed over the years and I’m sure I’m missing a lot 😅

The New Golden Age Continues...
Beginning in October, DC will be releasing three six-issue mini-series featuring founding JSA members Alan Scott, Jay Garrick, and Wesley Dodds.
Tumblr media
Alan Scott: The Green Lantern by Tim Sheridan (Flashpoint Beyond) and Cian Tormey (Superman: Son of Kal-El) will be Alan Scott’s first solo title since 1949. Through a twist in the timeline, Alan Scott: The Green Lantern revisits and recontextualizes the origins of the first Green Lantern through the lens of our modern understanding of the man. The story, which begins in the 1930s, is about an old flame – the kind that burns eternal – and the sometimes head-on, single-track collision of our personal and professional lives. This is Alan’s coming-of-age, in which he must embrace the man he is, to become the hero he’s meant to be. In the end, he’ll have gained a greater understanding of himself and his gifts – as he unlocks a new, previously unknown ability that could make him the most powerful Green Lantern in existence!
Tumblr media
Jeremy Adams (The Flash) and Diego Olortegui (Aquaman: The Becoming) are teaming up for Jay Garrick: The Flash. It’s hard being a parent, especially when your kid is a speedster! Jay Garrick has been reunited with his long lost daughter, Judy, but figuring out how to connect with her is proving to be difficult. They’ll need to work to find common ground when a mission that started in Jay’s early days as the Flash comes roaring to today. But will The Flash and The Boom be able to thwart a plan that’s been in the works for decades?!
Tumblr media
Wesley Dodds: The Sandman by Rob Venditti (Superman ‘78) with art from Riley Rossmo (Harley Quinn) shows the titular character as a pacifist. He has given up on the hope of a peaceful world, but he hasn’t stopped believing that people can be better to each other, if they’re only given the right tools. Now his journal has been stolen, and he must find the culprit and stop them before his deadly mis-inventions fall into the arsenals of the belligerent nations threatening to pull the United States into the next world war.

I've been trying to make a fancast for if the Percy Jackson series was made in the 1980s and 1990s. It's half Fancasting and half Faceclaims. Here's some of the ones I'm proud of so far:
Sally Jackson: Sally Field
Gabe Ugliano: Danny DeVito (Danny DeVito could also be Coach Hedge. Dual role maybe. Besides, I like Danny DeVito).
Chiron: Kevin Kline
Dionysus: Bill Murray (I'm not fully sold on this one, but I think it could possibly work. Bill Murray's got the deadpan comedy down). It's either Bill Murray or Tim Curry or maybe even Joe Flaherty.
Ares: Sylvester Stallone (I feel like he's one of the biggest action stars of the 1980s. He might honestly be able to play a god of war pretty well. His unique accent could even add to Ares as a character).
Medusa: Eartha Kitt (For some reason, i can't unsee this one. Eartha Kitt makes a great Aunty Em, to me).
These are just a few of them. Any more suggestions would be helpful. There's no way I'll get this all done by myself. I haven't even gotten past the Lightning Thief yet in my fancasting. I'm hung up on a few people (I'll list them):
Percy Jackson
Annabeth Chase
Grover Underwood
Clarisse La Rue
Zeus
Poseidon
Hades
Mrs. Dodds (I've got an idea but nothing settled)
The Three Fates
Charon
And many more.
I've made attempts at every character except these ones, so I need help/suggestions in order to keep going. Reblog for exposure please. Otherwise I don't know if anyone will see this. Here's the link:
Edit: Please reblog if you can! This cast list is still pretty much stuck where it always was! I need help adding names! So reblogs for exposure would be helpful!

Geoff Johns’ “The New Golden Age” line will continue in October with miniseries focused on three of DC’s Golden Age heroes: Alan Scott: The Green Lantern by Tim Sheridan and Cian Tormey, Jay Garrick: The Flash by Jeremy Adams and Diego Olortegui, and Wesley Dodds: The Sandman by Robert Venditti and Riley Rossmo.
The Flash miniseries will feature his reunion with his long-lost daughter, Judy, who “reappeared” in the recent Stargirl title.:
