"Sweetheaaaart!" He spoke in a singsong voice, "Look what I found!" Eddie slid into your viewpoint from the hallway outside your room, stopping at your door frame on the heels of his tattered socks.

Horror washed over your entire soul as your jaw dropped an inch, eyes widened in panic. "Eddie. Do not tell me…"

Eddie could only stare at you, amused as he tauntingly swayed your photo album back and forth. "Yup, I found your baby photos…!" After Eddie had confirmed your suspicions (with a shit eating grin too), you took no time to launch yourself at him from where you sat. "Eddie! Give- Those- Back!"

Your frown deepened as you heard Eddie's happy laugh echo across your room, his arms catching you after your failed attempt to steal the album back. Eddie's eyes closed as he took a deep breath shortly after wrapping his arms around your back, the cold plastic cover of the album resting on your skin. "Mmmm... Do you smell that?" You scoffed as you heard the smile in his voice, begrudgingly getting comfortable in his grip.

"What, the deceit and lies in the air?" You grunted bitterly into his Hellfire shirt.

He playfully shoved you onto the bed in return of your mean comment, collapsing on top of you shortly after. "C'mon man, don't be like that!" You rolled your eyes, scooting away from him and sitting up. "I, personally, think a trip down memory lane sounds great, but you—" He poked your forehead, crawling towards you and delicately taking a seat on your lap.

"—don't." You finished his sentence, glaring at him for a solid 11 seconds before groaning dejectedly. He was pouting at you, eyes down turned and… Well, adorable. "Okay fine, just open the damn book already." You muttered barely above a whisper, annoyed he was still able to hear you. Eddie expressed his joy the only way he knew how, by cheering loudly, gripping your shoulders, and swinging.

With a final pump of his fists in the air, "Yeeeeesss! You're the best, s/o," he kissed you in thanks. The celebration was short-lived as Eddie had shifted all his attention onto the photo album. "Now come to papa…" You grimaced at his creepy tone, "C'mon man, act semi-normal at least."

"Good sir, I refuse." Eddie flashed a grin to you, placing one hand on his heart, and the other pointing up before excitedly opening the album. With a childlike giggle, Eddie fell backwards, letting his giant hair cushion his fall on your lap.

You couldn't exactly see inside the book from that angle, safe for the view of Eddie's expressions changing every flip of the page; from happy to tearful, and shocked to elated. It was embarrassing for you, but at least he was enjoying himself.

"Oh, my heart." Eddie rested his hand on his chest once again, laying the book flat on his stomach, looking up at you through his hair. "Who knew this lil' sweetheart would turn into such a dork when he grew up?" He could barely get through the complete sentence without laughing. You tugged his hair lightly, snorting at his winced reaction. "Look who's talking, Eddie the Banished."

His face suddenly hardened jokingly, a finger pointing straight into your face, "Don't disrespect the dungeon master, otherwise you'll get—" You suddenly felt afraid of the mischievous look in his eyes.

"—murdered by Vecna himself!" He only cackled as you screeched away from his hands wrapping them around your waist, lifting you up and off the bed to pin you to the wall.

"Eddie, if you drop me, I will-" He kissed you. "D- don't interrupt-" He kissed you again, holding it longer than the previous one. You groaned softly into his lips, relaxing and letting yourself slide down the wall and to the ground with Eddie's help. He only pulled away for air, moving his hands to your wrists and pinning them above your head. A shaky breath escaped your lips as you stared him down.

His trance was broken by his cheeky grin, instantly giving you a bad feeling about what he was going to say…

"I love you." He muttered quickly.

… Only to be proven utterly wrong.

You felt your face heat up, a goofy smile breaking out on your face. "Wow, Munson, you just made it gayer." You chuckled through intervals of nervousness and intense elation.

"Say it baaaack." Eddie said in a warning tone, dropping his hands from yours to grasping both the sides of his face. "Or Vecna..."

You finally gave in and laughed wholeheartedly, "Okay, yeah, yeah, I love you too." Eddie's signature smile grew slowly on his face, as he inched closer.

"You mean it, right?"

"I mean it."

Allow me a little over-analysis time hehe:

So basically Satan can be regarded as "wisdom" since he's the brains of the bros, and he technically came from the Celestial Realm since he was created just before the bros fell (or as they fell).

Ik ik he was created wrathful and vengeful, but he wasn't techincally. That anger isn't his: it's Lucifer's and his dad's. Imagine Satan being like a pure, clean, blank slate that was corrupted within seconds of his creation with anger that wasn't his.

He decided to take matters in his own hands and called Mark. To explain everything what has Yuta done, which leads to Mark breaking up with Yuta.

However things are not always what they seem…

Chenle💸: Mark have you forgotten you keys, ask Yuta. You in the wrong chat

Mark🐯: DON’T SAY THAT TWO TIMING LION NAME!!

Chenle💸: Two timing? Did Yuta lie to you again?

Chenle💸: Hyuckie, did it again hahahah

Haechan🐻: It wasn’t me this time! I swear! I have learnt my lesson, when I almost got killed by Yuta!!

Renjun🍀: Who is banging on the door? So loud, jisung if you forgot your keys, call us!

Jisung🚀: Mark, did the right thing. Ditching that Cheater Yuta hyung, he made Mark sad :(

After Jeno very unwilling, let Mark into the living room. Jaemin came prepared with box of tissue and some hot cocoa.

Jaemin: Mark honey, what did Yuta do this time?

Mark: *sniffs* HE CHEATED

Jisung happens to enter the living room, to grab a screw driver to help chenle with something.

Jisung from the storage closets: Yea, Yuta hyung is not loyal to Mark. I need to tell Mark before he gets hurt even more

Jaemin: Jisung? How did you found out?

Jaemin: Also why are you in the storage closet?

Jisung: I heard Yuta saying, he missed his Winnie and when I walked past them. They look guilty!!

Once Jisung finished, what he is looking for. He immediately ran to Chenle room, before Chenle throw is teddy bear out the window.

After Jisung, left there was knock on the door. Jeno grumbles again, for having to get up and saw Yuta plus Doyoung at the door.

Jeno: Mark, you lover is here + the stress Eomma

Mark: Make Yuta, go away. I don’t want to talk to him. I’m too emotional!

Jaemin: I talk to them, Jeno comfort Mark. Make sure you keep on Mark, in case he hugs another watermelon

Jeno: Fine…

Jaemin opens the door and greeted the Eomma and Son duo with a smile.

Jaemin: How about we have a talk?

Jaemin: Talking with Mark, in this state will get you nowhere. Let’s go to the downstairs coffee shop for a chat 😚

The two followed Jaemin downstairs and Jaemin starts to question Yuta.

Jaemin: Yuta, did you really cheat on Mark?

Yuta: No it was a misunderstanding, Jisung misunderstood the situation. I was trying to get rid off the bad vibes between me and Winnie

Yuta: Let me explain!

Flashback a few hours ago

At the 127 house

Mark and Yuta were enjoying some quality time together. Until Mark Phones ring. Mark picked up the phone with a smile, he saw Jisung ID.

Mark: Yuta, I will be right back. My lil bro Jisung is calling me ☺️

Yuta: Okay, cool!

10 mins later…

Mark: YUTA IM SO DONE WITH YOU!!

Yuta: *blinks* Calm down Mark

Mark: DON’T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN. AFTER I GAVE YOU A WARNING LAST TIME. NOT TO DO IT AGAIN

It clicked in Yuta’s head, what has happened.

Yuta: Mark, it is misunderstanding. Jisung got the wrong end of the stick. Let me explain -

Mark: WE ARE DONE! I AM LEAVING!!

Mark storms out, went upstairs to pack along way. He bumped in Jungwoo and Johnny, who looks really confused as well having flashbacks, the last time it happens.

Jungwoo: We should hide, this doesn’t sound good

Johnny: I’m coming with you my lil cotton candy brother

Jungwoo: Let’s just hide, in Eomma crying spot. No one ever goes there

Jungwoo and Johnny ran to Doyoung crying spot in flash. Bracing the impact that will be upon them, when Yuta and Mark has fought.

10 mins later, there was big argument at the front door. Mainly Yuta begging Mark, to not to leave and Mark screaming. It draw the attention of Doyoung, who came rushing downstairs, when he heard the noise.

Doyoung: Yuta and Mark, what an earth are you two arguing at the door?

Mark: Tell your son, to not hold me hostage!

Yuta: Mark, let me explain and you can choose to leave or not. After I explain

Mark: No, all you do is tell lies!! I’m not falling for your tricks

Doyoung: Yuta, let Mark go for now and explain how it happens

Yuta reluctantly let Mark go. Mark ran so fast he was gone within a seconds. Yuta explains the situation to Doyoung.

Doyoung: *sighs* Yuta, you really need to be careful of your words, when you with Winwin. Especially when Jisung is around, we never know where he is

Doyoung: Last time, Jisung has caught me and your Appa having an argument. How we supposed to know, he was wondering with hyuck

Yuta: Poor boy, he must be scared. No wonder Uncle Nana doesn’t like you.

Doyoung: I have to explain Jisung, we were acting for a play. It cleared the poor boy suspicion

Doyoung: Mark should be at Nana house. Let’s go and hopefully Nana is in a good mood and not murder us.

End of flashback

Doyoung explained the situation to Jaemin. Who nods in agreement, he knows what Jisung is like, as he did it a lot of times.

Jaemin: Okay, I help you two!

Doyoung: Wait? You not mad? That Yuta accidentally made Mark cry?

Jaemin shakes his head: No, if you heard it from Jisung. It’s 100% a misunderstanding

Yuta: Great, can we please go to Mark!

Jaemin lights smacks Yuta head

Jaemin: Buddy, he won’t believe you now. Mark is stubborn, ever since he was child. It’s hard to change his mind

Jaemin: You need to tell Jisung, that it was misunderstanding and he will tell Mark and the rest is up to Mark to decide

Yuta: I will take that

Jaemin: Come I bring you two upstairs, and also don’t speak too much. We have this nosy upstairs neighbours, who happen to appear at random moments

i liked shattered memories on the wii a lot when it came out.

the other western silent games didn't look interesting, cause they seemed to be trying to fill in lore details to appease a rational, linear sensibility, and i feel the intrigues upon intrigues and deep immersion in the esoteric which marks the storytelling of the original four is far more interesting for the ways it forces you to study and think for yourself.

i never liked things that spoon-fed me easy answers, like it was a cute lil bedtime story to make me stop asking questions and go to sleep.

the other western silent hill games looked like they only had a superficial understanding of what silent hill was about, y'know -- rust, grime, busty nurse monsters, adversarial platonic solids, and akira yamaoka oscillating between bouncy seductive vocal rock tracks and hard dissonant industrial soundscapes of infinitely unfurling pain.

shattered memories came out in a time before the reboot cycle had fully cemented itself as the norm and the phrase "reimagining" did not yet have to be sectioned off by the latent treachery of a scary airquote.

think at the time i still predominately assessed the worth of a story by how well it was fully explicable to the conscious.

i'm not sure why i arbitrarily decided this is what made for a good story. think young men just know they need to set standards for themselves to trick themselves into upholding their own values, but then wise young men become unwise by lacking understanding of their own motives and thinking their games need to extend to other people.

since that's how i felt about stories, and silent hill's story was about capturing the emotional experience of being a traumatized girl with a split psyche extensively gaslit and tortured by her overbearing witchcraft-practicing religious mother -- but like... you're experiencing it from her adopted dad's perspective who is a rational writer who very heartfeltly and passionately wanders around in a fog of obscurity being confused and lied-to and strung along ... it was too deep, bro.

there is a narrative here, and because it is fundamentally about the occult, you cannot engage with its mechanics directly, and so there are layers and layers of subjective emotional entanglement piled on-top, and to parse the structure you must parse the character, for the whole will only be revealed in the simultaneous mastery of its component parts.

so, at the time, the idea of telling a different story using the original silent hill's setting and characters, but with a different gameplay style and aesthetic ... something more in-keeping with the rational, conscious, therapeutic. that seemed more interesting to begin with, for it would seem to almost promise something more original, and ultimately it does.

truth is, i don't care what -- if any -- relation shattered memories might have to the original. metatextually, it makes perfect sense. cheryl is a woman now on her third life, her father is dead.

throw her in another backwards world. "the real world".

why is her therapist the kauffman character? why is the sleezy doc who got alessa's nurse hooked on dope now her shrink? why is he browbeating her so hard to listen to him at the end? throwing his drink and insisting she listen, insisting her mother isn't a monster?

is this capturing something of how cheryl's past medical experiences were all marked by manipulation and deceit to keep her shackled to her abuser? is this another man in another time who only shares a name earnestly pleading with a self-destructive girl to come out of her cocoon?

if the two share no relation whatsoever, what is implied, and what do we suggest, by the incidental feature of them sharing a name and face? we read forward into this, but should we also read this backward?

how can we not, when it posits itself as an "official" entry?

You know for yourself the world of a narrative is an imprinting of the mind of its maker. If there's a reality beyond the template which pressed it, those are secrets which inform what has been made and are mere tendrils of probability. When you are in the world of the narrative, you are bringing things to it, making it more real to you as you imprint on it.

What a corporation says doesn't mean anything.

It'll effect things like house style, how they regularize flavor text, what details they prioritize going forward -- until they find something better.

Why would a current property holder know more than the original maker? Why do you think it makes sense to normalize living in an alternate world where the foundational work of inspiration is now merely pseudo-canonical. To whom are you pledging your loyalty?

Does it please you to think of the status-quo as some splendid garden?

A decapitation there, an uprooting here.

simply by choosing to do nothing at all!

ALWAYS RAINIA MY BRO💖💖 I'm so glad you like her cause she's one of my ULTIMATE FAVES

So this post here gives the general gist of her story about some about her in a quick read if you wanna catch up on the basics! I'll also just ramble more about her because I love her and could go on forever

Dusk uses she/her pronouns, she's 14 at the start of her story when she runs away, and 17 by book two. She's mixed race Pacific islander, or the in-universe equivalent of that! If she was from our universe, she'd be Samoan specifically

She is a complete and utter goofball!! The happier and more relaxed she is, the silly-goofier she gets, with her jokes and pranks and dumb ideas. Calls everyone bro, dude, or man, even if they're very important

Dusk plays both bass guitar and acoustic, though her acoustic is the one that generally goes with her on her outdoors adventures, and her bass is more for recording or performing. She sings alto (ALTO SUPREMACY)

Her favorite color is a vivid marigold yellow-orange, and her second favorite is purple!

She's very socially skilled, and it's a bit of a double-edged sword. On one end, she can be extremely friendly, charming, and good at reading people. On the other, though, she's very capable of being deceitful and even manipulative in order to get what she wants

Also very physically affectionate!! If she really likes you, she will flop across you like a cat or hold your hand and drag you around everywhere

She picked up kickboxing in order to keep up with Norvori when they get into tight spots, so now she can kick butt too!!

She also learned sign language all on her own for him, so she could teach it to him so he'd still be able to communicate when he couldn't speak

[kills u] so— some of them did not have much thought behind them other than being regular names or they just sounded like it would fit, but I will include the ones that do

Raine/Bunie/Beau: Bunie came first and he was a dream oc who was a slasher that wore a rabbit mascot head and I'm so creative so instead of Bunny, it's Bunie and I ran with it. I feel like my process for Raine was that I liked that name and thought it was androgynous/fluid for a neutral name. Beau came last because I wanted another 'B' name for Bunie when they name themselves and I always thought the name Beau was cool and my fav animal crossing character is named Beau. Later I realized how Raine and Beau connected and I lost my mind even more. Fun Fact, Bunie was almost gonna be named Wolper

Adori Phoebus: No thought behind this besides "hrm this rolls off the tongue nice". Phoebus was because I wanted a Greek surname.

Mika Enzoi: I thought that name Mika was cute and chipper sounding and Mika is a cute and chipper guy !! It made me happy to call him that.

Loki (Locurious): A mischievous catboy need I say more >:3c Locurious is his old name that he ditched when he left the circus and I think it was a play on "curious" (his overall nature on 'teehee what if i did this') and "mercurius" (the god Mercury and being quick, nimble, and a bit of a trickster which Loki tends to be with his cat reflexes, abilities to float a lil, and his self given title of "Trickster Villain for Fun")

Julian Malachi-Florence Nightingale the Third: Would you believe me if I said this was impromptu when I was thinking of making a fancy-like long ass name for a fancy mage idea ? Julian was created to be Omir’s bane and I’m like “what’s an obnoxiously long name I can give to this person…?”

Omir Lyrria: I already had a fondness of the name Omir and Lyrria is a play on the word “lyric” since Omir was musically characterized when I created his design

Dolión: So he was created as the mortal husk of my oc Dendé for this Kingdom Au me and my friend were indulging in, and after a lot of rotting, the husk seemed like his own person far removed from Dendé and so I was like “he would definitely call himself a different name to further removing himself from Dendé that he hates so much.” At first I was playing around with like reversing the name Dendé but I felt like the husk also fitted a D name, so I went searching and came across Dolión and it looked really nice. THEN I looked into the name some more and found out it was GREEK and meant something along the lines of being deceitful and I’m looking at my friend like “DENDÉ IS LITERALLY GREEK AND THE MEANING FITS THEM BOTH PERFECTLY.”

Clam Mari: He is a merperson and this though the name is similar to the play on words ‘calamari’, the initial thought process was like “Imma name them Clam. Oh, I should give them a last name too. Clams are like marine creatures, let’s go with Mari.” (I felt like Marine would be too on the nose so I shortened it). I didn’t notice until after someone pointed it out when I showed it to them that it was like calamari.

YoYo / Nayu: They, like a lot of characters I have around, are actually a play on words of my own name. My name is not common and never see it, and there was a point in time I had to play a game as a child where we had to say something positive about ourselves or something using the first letter or our names and my tiny ass could NOT think of anything other than nice or something negative. I also then realized I didn’t hear many names like mine with the letter N so I always tried to create names with the letter N or similarly like with the letter O too, or whatever sounded nice and uncommon. Some others with the similar naming convention include Nikk, Remi, Mo, Kinn, Naiya, Nalia, and Necea (maybe more but these are what I can think of atm)

Zavannah “Zavi” Ohm: It started out with Zavi because I like how the ‘Z’ felt to say. Zavannah came after because I thought Zavi could be like a nickname she goes by, it’s also a play on the name ‘Savannah’ which I took a liking to bc of a Hamtaro amv I saw on a hamtaro fansite. Originally, she never had electric powers, she was just a kickboxer/Sikaran fighter, but then I gave her electric abilities and gave her the last name Ohm.

Lambertghini “Lambert”: He’s a goat….. Lamb…… Lambert….. “hey I’m here in my garaaaaaaage just bought this uh new Lamborghini here.mwv”…….. Lambertghini..

Once Upon A Time, In A Far Away Land... - AU:

The legend says that King Raymond, then still a Prince and an adventurer, went to find the terrible threat known as the dragon witch, that has been rumored to have hurt innocent people and was the cause of great distress for a long time. What he found was a lovely, beautiful woman with charm and wit and a heart of gold, who's reputation had been tainted by those who tried to steal from her and payed the price when she defended herself.

It was then and there that the king decided he would do anything to make her happy.

Many years later, and the two married and had a family together. Three beautiful boys. Two of them ordinary looking twins, and the younger one seemingly half dragon and half human.

Now of course not everyone in the kingdom was immediately on board with their new queen, not did they all approve of the princes, especially the young one. But eventually, most of them came around, or at the very least knew better than to voice their negative opinions.

The years pass and the children grow up. Roman and Remus learn magic and swordsmanship, both being more talented in the latter, and they go on lots of adventures, both together and separately.

while Drake learns all that and more, doing his best to perfect all his skills but being especially talented in magic. he wants to be able to always have the right answers, to never be caught unprepared.

Unfortunately, he is caught very unprepared.

One day, while adventuring in a part of the woods rumored to be overtaken by the misfits and rebels of the kingdom, Roman and Remus are caught in one of their traps.

"well well well, a couple of trespassers." A hooded figure teased, eyes lighting up in amusement.

"those are no ordinary trespassers! It seems we're in the company of royalty!" Replied a man with glasses who didn't seem that mean compared to the hooded figure.

"Vee did good job with those traps, I gotta hand it to him." Said the woman among them, sounding pleasantly surprised.

The twins were too weak from their previous fight to do much, and they could only stare angrily as they waited for one of the rebels to speak.

Finally, the woman gave an order.

"R, Em, escort our guests. I'll go tell boss the wonderful news."

Hours later, as Drake was pacing in his room and his parents were sitting in the throne room patiently waiting for news on the whereabouts of their sons, all knowing it isn't like them to disappear for this long without giving a proper warning.

Finally, a message came, from the leader of the forest dwellers.

"if you wish to see your sons, there are matters to discuss. I will come to the forest's entrance every night for the next three days. Send a representative, they must come alone. We shall see if we can come to an agreement that's favorable for both sides. Should you fail to accept this offer, we will have no choice but to keep the princes as our prisoners. Their transgressions can not go unpunished, but perhaps theit unfortunate mistake can bring about a new era, for all those who deserve a better life.

Sincerely, P. Sanders"

Drake couldn't sleep that night, knowing that his parents had no intention listening to the rebels' wishes. He couldn't help but worry what his life would be like without his brothers. He didn't like the idea of it, not one bit.

So that night, after tossing and turning in his bed for hours, he decided to do something he never thought he'd do in his life.

He snuck out of the castle to disobey his parents.

He went to the entrance of the forest to speak to the leader of the rebels. The man he saw before him, however, was not at all what he expected.

Patton Sanders has been fighting ever since he could remember himself. He was hardly the first rebel to find shelter in these woods, but with all the elders that had raised him having passed away, he became the new leader. It wasn't an easy job, but it was rewarding, and someone has to do it. He couldn't let all these poor people go without any help, not when he knew from personal experience how hard it was to survive in the kingdom for anyone who couldn't be born or marry into nobility, and who couldn't fit into whatever narrow path was set up for them.

So to see that the king and queen sent their youngest son to negotiate was... puzzling, to say the least. After all, you'd think at least one of them would want to show up to discuss a way to get their sons back.

But when he saw the prince's nervous body language, he suspected he knew what was really going on.

"greetings, Mr Sanders." the young prince gave a small bow.

~at least he cares enough to show up and be formal about it.~ Patton thinks and decides that he can allow himself to be a little nice.

"please, Mr Sanders was my father. You can just call me Patton, your highness."

"oh, alright. Well then I suppose you can address me as Drake, if you wish."

There was a moment of uneasy silence before Drake decided he'll cut to the point.

"so what is it that you want in exchange for my brothers' safe return?"

"simply put? Justice."

Drake raised an eyebrow, not in judgement or mockery but in confusion. "I'm afraid you're going to have to be a bit more specific."

"why is it, you think, that generations of outcasts and misfits have sought shelter in these woods? Have you considered why we'd need to seek shelter from our own kingdom?"

Drake had a few ideas, but by the look on his face they troubled him too much to express.

Patton sighed in sympathy and decided to say it himself, as he had many times before, to save the young prince (who actually was about Patton's age, although the leader looked older due to all that he's had to endure) the embarrassment.

"the kingdom is under attack from within itself. The rich and powerful are attacking the poor and helpless, by not extending to them the aid they need in order to just barely survive, let alone thrive as the nobles do. And your parents have been complacent, content to let the broken system that benefits them go on as it always had. All I want is equality. To be provided with what we need to survive and to be allowed to exist however we choose, be given the same freedom the nobles have that we had to escape from the kingdom into the forest to find. That is all the rebels have ever wanted, and it is all I ask."

Drake listens carefully, studying Patton's face for any deception or insincerity, and finds none. He sighs, tiredly, heavily.

"you know my parents didn't send me, don't you?"

"I figured as much, yes."

"so you understand this is gonna be hell on earth for me, trying to accomplish what you're asking of me, against their wishes, right?"

"indeed, but considering your choice of words, it sounds to me like you've already joined the cause."

"...unfortunately, yes." Drake couldn't help but agree. He knew it was dangerous, and would take expert planning, and would be downright impossible to achieve, but besides the fact that it was the only way to get his brothers back without starting an unnecessary war with the peaceful forest dwellers, it was also the right thing to do. And besides, Patton was very cute- convincing! Drake had meant convincing, he insisted to himself, unconvincingly. Yes the irony of that is not lost on him.

Meanwhile, At the rebels' campsite, the twin princes were surprised to find that aside from the occasional jab or tease, they were being treated rather respectfully. Sure their hands were tied to ensure they couldn't escape but they were treated more like guests rather than prisoners. In fact, they were treated like equals, which has never happened to them before. Their parents treated them like kids and, although they tried to be subtle about it, so did a lot of the older nobles, and everyone else treated them like royalty, which they were. But this was the first time they've ever had a normal conversation with people who saw them as equals.

Roman was a bit huffy at first, insisting he be treated with the respect worthy of a prince, only to be met with laughter and eye rolls. "there aren't any classes here, you're no better than anyone else. Better get used to it, Princey." said a figure standing completely in shadow, though his eyes almost glistened in the darkness, the fire reflecting off them. "let him whine, Vee. It's all he's got now." the woman he now knew as Valerie teased, and the only reason he let her get away with it is because she had bested him in combat earlier that day, when he made a daring escape attempt. Seeing as she proved herself a fierce warrior, she had his begrudging respect. But then he heard the shadowed figure chuckle in response, and the sound evoked many different emotions in him, so he decided to focus on annoyance and anger. "so, you're the Vee in charge of the cowardly contraption that ensnared my brother and I." Roman could see the eyes squint as they looked him up and down, and then a smug smirk spread across the shadow's face. "the very same. Pretty neat trick, isn't it?" "I don't know what you think is so impressive about a machine made by a man too weak and scared to best his enemies face to face." "it's efficient, and it takes a hell of a lot more wit and talent than waving a sword around like a reckless idiot." the shadow bit back, sounding very defensive. Roman would have been prouder to have gotten him riled up if it were for Valerie looking very mad at him for insulting who he now had to assume is a friend of hers. He really didn't wanna anger Valerie. "I wouldn't expect a ruffian like you to understand anything about the fine art of sword fighting." at that, the shadow growled. Well and fully growled, sending a shiver down Roman's spine, filling him with fear and... Well he was going to ignore that other feeling for now and hopefully it would go away. "okay, fuck this. Val, can you untie his hands?" Valerie's eyes went wide. "Vee, you don't have to-" "no, I want to. It's worth it to get this asshole to shut up and show some respect." Roman would have said something if he weren't intrigued by the conversation. "alright, but I don't like this." "no one's gonna get hurt. I promise." as Valerie untied his hands she glared at him. "what? How was I supposed to know he'd react this way? Also what the hell is going on?" "you'll see in a second, just don't see this as a chance to try escaping again or I'll personally knock you unconscious." "noted." as the bindings were fully removed from his hands and Valerie backed away, Vee stepped out of the shadows, allowing Roman to see him for the first time. This was already a very big problem for Roman, as he was not prepared for how hot the rebel was. To make matters worse, Roman wasn't done checking him out sizing him up, when Vee pulled a sword from where it was resting on his hip, and he held it directly at Roman's throat, just inches away from grazing his skin. And that really should not have made the blood rush to the direction it did for Roman, but his body just had the worst timing. Luckily, somehow, he still managed to focus on Vee's next words.

"you wanted to fight face to face? Fine. I, Virgil Fabre, challenge you to a duel."

And that is when Roman realized his big mistake. Well, too late to back out now.

"I accept your challenge."

Remus was ecstatic, though. He immediately started feeling more at ease and free to be himself. He didn't even mind being tied up all that much, and he made sure to get that point across with a bunch of inappropriate humor that made everyone uncomfortable. Well all except for the two men who brought them to the camp, and a third, much cuter nerd, resembling the rebel in glasses but seemingly more stoic, but even he was clearly smiling at one of Remus's crass jokes. Their eyes locked and the serious rebel blushed and turned back to resume his conversation with the men he now knew as Remy and Emile. Fuck. Finding a way to enjoy being kidnapped while waiting to be rescued or until he found a way to escape? That was one thing. But crushing on one of the rebels who was holding him prisoner? Remus would have to be a fool to act on these emotions. He glanced the other way to check on his brother and asked why he was sword fighting with one of the rebels. After being updated on what happened, he sighs heavily. Well you know what? If Roman was allowed to be stupid, and they were truly equals in this forest, then dang it Remus can do whatever Roman can do if he damn well pleases. With this new conviction, he boldly strutted over to the handsome nerd, only for Emile to give him a death glare that immediately makes him turn around.

But he's far from giving up. They all are.

Headcanon in which the Brothers really despise certain popular depictions of them in art:

A/N: lol just something that came to mind when studying the various interpretations of the brothers by artists. I just see Asmodeus being incredibly pissed off at Louis Le Breton and Lucifer not being very fond of that one Alexandre Cabanel painting. Also, Belphegor being a snarky lil' shit and not giving a damn.

Asmodeus: WHAT. THE. FUCK. IS. THIS?

Lucifer: *sighs* will it kill you all to allow me to have one moment of peace in this house?

Asmodeus: WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR PEACE? THIS IS AN EMERGENCY.

From the protectiveness, the emotional support, the loyalty, and FR FR BOTH OF THEM DESPITE WHAT THEY WERE GOING THROUGH HOLDING IT DOWN FOR EACHOTHER👏🏽👏🏽 And even their small teasing moments? Cherry even calling her “cousin” too was so cute to me🥲🥲🥲 LIKE I ATE THOSE INTERACTIONS RIGHT TF UP THANK YOU.

absolutely hates fishing. he has to slam his eyes shut and nervously wait for the plop every single time, and if he misses a fish he will mentally berate himself for twenty minutes

TARANTULA. HUNTING. he is an absolute boss at catching them so he doesn’t really have trouble getting bells. definitely keeps one in his house as a pet.

he doesn’t like all of his villagers, but he’d feel bad ignoring them (bc he knows how it feels) so he talks to all of them anyway

made his real jacket in custom designs and never takes it off

resident representative?? nah bro, he’s the prince of the people

loves to talk to the villagers bc it makes him feel like he’s checking on his faithful subjects

literally never pays his debt because he’s too broke after buying all of the furniture, wallpapers, and flooring he can get his hands on

once he unlocked terraforming, he went a little crazy with it and basically created a feudal state, complete with fields for the serfs (the villagers), a castle (his house) on the highest hill, and all the shops spread out on the second highest cliff

has over a thousand custom designs that he’s made and others that he’s just seen and thought they were cool, still only ever wears one of them

likes taking a bunch of cute lil’ pictures with the nook phone’s camera app

completely loses it whenever the villagers sing or pretend to be airplanes bc they’re just!! so cute!!!

absolute menace. doesn’t listen to blathers’s facts and only brings him bugs just to see him panic

physically harasses his least favorite villagers with a net. also runs behind them with a metal axe, just because he can

he doesn’t pick any of the weeds on his island and instead digs up all of the flowers. everyone else is horrified when they all come to visit

he found out you could put patterns on the floor and recreated a crime scene outside his house with a fake chalk outline of a body

no one gives him best friend privileges on their islands because they are terrified of the chaos he will bring about

deceit

refuses to pay his crippling debt to tom nook in order to rebel against society

no one (except remus) visits his island bc he Will force them into slave labor like they’re his henchmen

breeds flowers until he gets the cool, dark black versions and then gets rid of every other color until there are only dark black flowers everywhere for the Aesthetic

as soon as he is able, he moves his house to the highest cliff in order to make himself a cool evil villain hideout area also for the Aesthetic
